Thanks for joining us. We're so excited to be back. How are you today, Susan?
Starting point is 00:02:56 I'm so good. so good so excited about today's guest too oh boy today we have two very special guests please drum roll drum roll our brand new golden lovebirds k and monica b hi you two welcome to golden hour how are you guys can we stop calling you monica b yet or should we continue the monica b can we call you just monica well you yes yes Yes, please. You can call me Monica. Okay, can I both say, look at their smile. Although C.K. will not let Monica be die.
Starting point is 00:03:32 I think that will be for Andrew. That's right. Well, let me just say, both of you have great smiles on your face. So there's a whole lot we wanted diving today. Let's get started, and I'm going to lead us off. So for anyone who doesn't remember and how could you forget, C.K. is from Joan's season, as well as the season, this past season of Bachelor and Paradise with me. And Monica, otherwise known as Monica B, is from Mel's Seasons.
Starting point is 00:04:07 So, before we get started, before we get started, C.K., everyone knows, or if they don't, they're about to find out, you and I have become very good friends. So let's tell our listeners how that came to be. So tell everyone, how did you and I become such good friends? Well, we originally met almost a year ago in Carmel at the golf tournament. And we immediately became friends. And I think my first words to you were zip it. And it sparked a lifelong friendship. And so for that, I'm very happy and pleased. Yeah, that was. That is exactly where we met. And you said something about the outfit I had on. I don't remember, but you said that you liked the outfit I had. And I thought any guy that pays a compliment to a woman about how she's dressed must be a good guy.
Starting point is 00:04:58 He's a good guy. And Kathy, I was very impressed. I mean, I thought initially I'd go, you had to spend at least $2,500 on that. You said, C.K. No, it's $3.50. So thank you very. The day I spent $2,500 on a pair of slacks is the day I won the lottery, and you'll be the first to know, I promise. No, but then we, and then, of course, we were on, and we liked to joke, we were on Paradise together, and C.K. promised me a date, but then, Monica, I don't know if you know this, when we got there, C.K. wouldn't talk to me. He just ignored me. I got sick. In all fairness, I got, I think you remember that, Kathy. I got sick, and I was just never the same afterwards. Uh-huh. No. It's a good story, and he's sticking with it. That's right. Well, you're our friends. That's what matters. And Monica, since this is your first time on our podcast. tell us a little bit about you um yes i am monica brewer i'm 63 years old i live in huntsville
Starting point is 00:05:57 alabama i am the mother of four children and five as of november the 25th five grandchildren i work as a flight attendant for delta air rights congrats well thank you thank you so much and can you tell me how you do that How did you two meet? Oh. Shall I? Yes, please. Or do you want to tell you?
Starting point is 00:06:24 Susan, first of all, Susan, you're going to get two virgins in that. So I'm going to give you, Monica's going to be. Okay, I want both sides. That's right. I don't think he likes when I say this because he thinks it sounds sleazy, but he slid into my DMs. Oh. Well, Monica, that begs the question. while he was sliding, what did he say?
Starting point is 00:06:50 Look at it. He's got a chesh-all What do you say, Monica? He says that he was just wishing me well on the season. That was kind of the first message, but then he says, I'm interested. So I hope Mel doesn't see what I see. I hope he doesn't kiss you, sorry, not sorry. And there was one other thing, like he did wish me well.
Starting point is 00:07:15 saying he hoped that I could go as far as I could, but that I didn't end up with Mel. Well, let me. Wait, I'm going to tell you, Monica, C.K. called me, and he said, I need to know something. And I said, Kathy, go on mute. Kathy, go on mute right now. Let's hear CK's version. Oh, wait, wait. I'm not going on mute. He called me, and he asked me if you had stayed whatever week it was. And, of course, I knew that you hadn't, that you were gone, that he hadn't chosen you. And I said, I can't answer that, CK.
Starting point is 00:07:54 You know, no, come on, Kathy. You're my friend. Tell me. And of course, I did not tell him. And I said, you know what? You're just going to have to wait and find out. So, all right. Now, CK, what's your story?
Starting point is 00:08:04 Okay, C.K. So, Susan, here's the truth of the matter, right? So Kathy said, CK, I asked her, did Monica get the first impression rose? And she wouldn't tell me. And I knew if it wasn't Monica, it was Jerry and I got confused. And so for two months, I swear, I mean, I'm just stressing out. She got the first impression Rose. She's probably going to end up with him.
Starting point is 00:08:28 And then you and Kathy go on the program and you tell Monica, just kiss him, kiss him. And I'm in my living room and say, no, don't kiss him. What are you doing? you're like I want to meet this moment that's right she I can't hear that she's kissing mouth so I think that's so exciting that's more exciting to being on the show you sitting there watching one you're hoping nobody touches her because that's right that's right okay Monica is gorgeous I mean she really is you Monica you are simply beautiful we all know that other than that ZK make me happy woman
Starting point is 00:09:01 don't tell me it was simply her beauty what attracted you to Monica well first and foremost So I'll get to that, Kathy. But the way I really met her is that I did, I didn't slide into her DMs. I kicked the door down. He jumped in there. I kicked the door down. I said, I'm C.K. I kicked the door down.
Starting point is 00:09:20 I said, I'm C.K. And I'm here to whisked you off. So that's kind of what happened. And then I poured my heart out to it and gave her this heartfelt message. And you know what her response was? It would just be okay. And I thought, well, wait a minute. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Yeah. Is that what you wrote? What were you thinking, Monica? at least I responded. Oh, well. Yeah, you know, she's a woman a few words. I mean, she said, okay, you know, shoot your shot, do whatever. So wait, see, yeah, I want to know, because you and I talked for the 10 minutes you were in paradise.
Starting point is 00:09:51 You, did you ever think that you were going to date someone from Bachelor? Bachelor nation. No, I did not because I just didn't think that there would ever be the kind of the type of connection that I longed and looked for. and you know you and i talk to kathy and like i'm positioned to look for my forever forever right i'm making that a purpose and a point you know he Monica i have to tell you every time ck and i cke used to call me all the time you know how i knew he'd met someone he stopped calling he stopped calling i used to seeki just chit chat with me talking about it obviously he was cute sliding or jumping into your d and what did you say
Starting point is 00:10:34 about him that intrigued you, that you wanted to know more? Well, initially, I didn't know who he was. So after I was off the show, I said, well, let me circle back and see and look into it. So I actually reached out to him after that point, and we started to connect. But, well, on the show, you know, they ask all the time, what are you looking for in a mate? Of course, I want someone God-faring, someone family-orientated, check-check, someone kind, someone who's nice to me, check-check. But specifically, I love his passion.
Starting point is 00:11:17 He's passionate about everything he does. Look at that smile on his face. I know. He makes you laugh. His job or his family or me. Has he bought you any nice gifts yet? What did you get for Christmas? Did you say this?
Starting point is 00:11:33 oh it's beauty this is a rose with diamonds oh and i got this because he couldn't stand to see me not get a rose so this is um oh see k okay this is like this is like first date wait i want to know mona i want you know this this podcast is all about the two of you one except for this where the hell is my gift see k i've been your friend longer than she has Hey everyone. Wow.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as peoples just breathe. Next to the wound is their gifts. You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound. That's the hard thing. You think, well, I'm going to get my gifts. I don't want to go through all that. You've got to go through the wounds you're laughing. Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and it's all they say.
Starting point is 00:13:56 In conclusion, love is the answer. Listen to Sacred Lessons as part of the Maikoutura podcast, network available on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, Dr. Lori Santos from the Happiness Lab here. It's the season of giving, which is why my podcast is partnering with Give Directly, a nonprofit that provides people in extreme poverty with the cash they need. This year, we're taking part in the Pods Fight Poverty campaign. And it's not just the Happiness Lab. Some of my favorite podcasters are also taking part. Think Jay Shetty from On Purpose. Dan
Starting point is 00:14:31 Harris from 10% happier and Dave Desteno from How God Works and more. Our goal this year is to raise $1 million, which will help over 700 families in Rwanda living in extreme poverty. Here's how it works. You donate to give directly, and they put that cash directly into the hands of families in need, because those families know best what they need, whether it's buying livestock to fertilize their farm, paying school fees, or starting a small business. With that support, families can invest in their future and build lasting change. So join me and your favorite podcasters in the Pods Fight Poverty campaign. Head to give directly.org slash happiness lab to learn more and make a contribution. And if you're a first time donor, giving multiplier will even match your gift. That's give
Starting point is 00:15:17 directly.org slash happiness lab to donate. Hi, I'm Radhi Dvlukaya and I am the host of a really good cry podcast. This week, I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the crappy childhood fairy, a creative teacher and guide helping people heal from the lasting emotional wounds of unsafe or chaotic childhoods. We talk about how the things we went through when we were younger can still show up in our adult lives, in our relationships, our reactions, even in the way we feel in our own bodies. And Anna opens up about her own story, what helped her notice the patterns she was stuck in and how she slowly started teaching her body that it is safe now. So when I got attacked, it was very random. Four guys jumped out of a car and just started
Starting point is 00:15:58 beating me and my friend. And they broke my job. jaw on my teeth. I was unconscious. Then I woke up and I screamed. And I screamed because even though I didn't know who I was or where I was, something in me was just like, hold on, wait, they could kill me and I'm not going to let that happen. I'm not going to let that happen. I'm going to get through this. And I did. Listen to a really good cry on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The social media trend that's landing some Gen Ziers in jail. The progressive media darling whose public meltdown got her fired. I'm going to take Francesco off the network entirely. The massive TikTok boycott against Target
Starting point is 00:16:35 that makes no actual sense. I will continue getting stuff from Target and I will continue to not pay for it. And the MAGA influencers whose trip to the White House ended in embarrassment. So refreshing to have the press secretary after the last few years who's both intelligent and articulate. You won't hear about these online stories in the mainstream media, but you can keep up with them and all the other entertaining and outrageous things happening online in media and in politics with the Brad versus Everyone podcast hosted by me, Brad Palumbo. Every day of the week, I bring you on a wild ride through the most Delulu takes on the internet, criticizing the extremes of both sides from an independent perspective.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Join in on the insanity and listen to the Brad versus Everyone podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What is your favorite part about each other? I'm asking you both, whoever wants to go first. What is your favorite part, C.K. I'll take it first. I'll take it first. Susan, that for me, that is a softball question because there are so many redeeming qualities about Monica that really kind of set me off, right? For me, in my mind, is a man to say, that's the one. You know, first and foremost, she's age appropriate. And she's 63. I'm 63. And I think that's ideal. We share the same fundamental faith and belief from a Christian standpoint. She's raised her children. So she's positioned to move forward with a partner. And she's, she's had hardships and difficulties and challenges in her life. And she's overcome that and still has this goal about her. And I think that for me as a man, that's hella compelling.
Starting point is 00:18:09 So, you know, it's that and other things, I think that really sort of sparkly. Yeah, but that is so sweet. But I'm the realist here. That's all lovely. Yeah. But you didn't know any of that when you reached into DMs. It was her beauty. Just admit it.
Starting point is 00:18:25 And we can move on. Okay. So if you can just let me tell this. So we, the men, we were in Las Vegas, right, on our reunion. And I think it was then that day when we were at Top Golf that the women, the 24 women, came across the screen. And I was at the bank with my golf club. And Chalk said, CK, you got to come look at this one. And I said, no, no, not now, Chalk.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I'm really busy. And finally, he came and he drugged me over there. And when I laid my eyes on her, I said, that's the one. And, yeah. Ooh. Yeah. You know, that happened to me yesterday. this is kind of exciting okay now you're going to know so i got a few questions well go ahead monica
Starting point is 00:19:03 let her finish yeah go ahead what was it for you that drew you to this man right here i mean it wasn't just the dm it's the first look when you first see each other tell me from there right of course he's very handsome and i didn't know who he was because i wasn't really into the Bachelorette that season. So I went back and I saw him and I thought he was very handsome. So I doubled back to the DM and instead of just saying, okay, I had a full message this time and I left my phone number. So we started to talk via text and the phone. And we have a lot of good conversations.
Starting point is 00:19:52 We sometimes stayed up six to eight hours at night talking about. Isn't that fun? Very good conversation. I wouldn't know. So it's tired. It's tiring the next day, but it's fun. So wait, have you guys spent time? Yeah, have you guys met each other in person?
Starting point is 00:20:08 Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Several times. So, Kathy, Kathy, when you asked Monica where she's residing, she said Huntsville. And I know from having gone there one time that it's not Huntsville, it's Huntsville. You're right. It's Huntsville. That was good.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Huntsville, Alabama. So you've both been to each other's homes, if you will, each other's cities to visit each other. Yes. How about the holidays? Yeah, what about the holidays? Are you spending together or? Well, so, Monica, let me take a portion of that.
Starting point is 00:20:43 So we spent Thanksgiving, a portion of Thanksgiving with her family that lives here in Southern California. And then we spent Thanksgiving dinner with my entire crazy family, even the crazy one. So I said, I want all the crazy things to come, so you know what you're getting into here. They're not crazy. They're loving people. But that's big that you're introducing each other to your families.
Starting point is 00:21:07 Oh, yeah. That's important. Wait, C.K., have you met Monica's kids and her family? I met her son who lives here in her extended family and the children, the grandchildren. And, of course, she's met a lot of my extended family. And my mother loves her to pieces. Okay. So the next question is, the next question is,
Starting point is 00:21:26 Monica, I'm going to ask you first. Actually, no, I'm going to ask you, CK, first. How would you describe your relationship? NASCAR. So it's felt like Monica has to tell me from time to time. CK. It's only been two months. And it really hasn't been two months. It's been just shy of two months.
Starting point is 00:21:45 And I told her just last night that it feels like six months. Because to her point, we've been talking sometimes two, six, eight hours. And she's very big on staying connected. And that's her way that she feels loved is text message and respond to my text messages. If I can call, if I call, you pick up the phone. Let's have a conversation. And that's the way she feels connected. And I'm getting used to that because I've been flying solo for so long.
Starting point is 00:22:12 What about you? I agree with you, Monica. You need to feel wanted. And I get it. Well, it's a long distance relationship. How long is it going to be long distance? Oh. Are we jumping the done?
Starting point is 00:22:26 I don't know. They said it's long distance. I said, how long is it going to be long distance? I mean, it is pretty far apart. Is one willing to go to the other or vice versa, half and half? Because that is the biggest complication. Who's traveling? You know, where are we going to meet?
Starting point is 00:22:41 Where are we going to be? So, yeah, it would be easier. I don't like the idea of long distance, particularly if I didn't like her as much as I did, then long distance would be ideal because, you know, there's a buffer. You don't have to. I want to be able to see her, what I want to see her. I want to be able to spend time with her. I want to be able to spend unlimited time.
Starting point is 00:23:03 And so part of that is her moving to California at some point early in Q1, 2026. Q1, you could tell he's a finance guy. He means first quarter, which translates to January, February, March, for those of you who are not into finance. So wait, Monica, you are a flight attendant. So what if, by the way, congrats that you guys apparently are going to be, living in the same house, home, city, whatever it's going to be. But you're a flight attendant. How's that going to work, Monica?
Starting point is 00:23:34 Change your base. Oh, change bases, exactly. That would be ideal. But if I cannot change bases, then I just have to commute back to Atlanta. You're going to have to deadhead back to Atlanta? Yes, yes. Ideally, I would switch bases. Usually.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Sometimes it takes a minute to get into a base, but, you know, sometimes it takes. It doesn't, so it just depends. And your airlines, L.A. is a hub or no? L.A. is definitely a hub. Yes. It is. It is. Well, we'll cross the ringer.
Starting point is 00:24:07 So now, let's see. They're moving together. C.K. Wait, wait. That's what you said. I'm just not in the same house. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Same city. Yes. Well, good. So you get to see each other. Are you going to cook dinner for them? I can't wait. Yes. Why would you pay your own rent?
Starting point is 00:24:28 Why don't you share in the same space? That's not for you to ask Susan. It's too soon. I don't know. They only have been dating for 10 minutes. I think it's a big move that they're moving to the same city. I applaud you guys for taking your time. Monica, I don't know what the hell you're thinking cooking for them.
Starting point is 00:24:43 I'd make reservations, but that's up to you. Well, we make those two, but yes, I enjoy cooking. Okay, so you're both. Something I like to do. Okay. All right, so you're both in a bachelor. I guess you don't like it. No.
Starting point is 00:24:55 I know. I know. You're both in bad, I mean, I can do it, but, you know, I prefer not to. So you're both in Bachelor Nation. You're both from different seasons, different times, Bachelor Nation. What did your respective friends in Bachelor Nation think about this? I'm assuming that most people, I mean, you're telling us on our podcast, you're letting the world know that you're together now. But what, obviously, your friends know, what has been their reaction? Everyone is super excited for us. They've met, of course, C.K. After the Rose, he met most everybody, and everyone loves him. He's very personable, and they, you know, they've witnessed that, and they love him,
Starting point is 00:25:43 and so they're excited to see what happens with us. Who told me first? You said, Katie, or you, Monica? Who told their bachelor? I don't know, Kathy. I don't know. I do. Because remember, I know you know because before at Women Tell All, you approached me about C.K.
Starting point is 00:26:05 He told me to. He told me to. I was doing a spy work for him. And just may I say on national this podcast, Monick, see if you can make it happen. C.K. promised me a fabulous gift. It has not arrived yet. So if he's a man of his word, if he's a man of his word. Yeah, don't give me that smile, CK. Get action. I want action. No, he said.
Starting point is 00:26:29 She did what she said. She was going to do. Thank you, Monica. So here's what happened. CK. literally used to call, we used to laugh and talk. And then he started calling always Monica this,
Starting point is 00:26:42 Monica B that. I said the same thing, Susan. Can we stop calling her Monica B? I don't think you're dating Monica P as in Peter. You're dating Monica B as in Brewer. So anyway, he asked me to, you know, he says it every day and daily. He told me to find out what you were thinking. It was like a high school move, you know.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Hey, sending your friend into the, you know, in the locker room. Hey, tell me what she's thinking. I said, yeah, she's in for it. I think it's, what did your guy friend say? What a way to make a woman feel good. Yeah. I like your stuff. Hey, everyone.

This year, we're taking part in the Pods Fight Poverty campaign. And it's not just the Happiness Lab. Some of my favorite podcasters are also taking part.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Think Jay Shetty from On Purpose, Dan Harris. from 10% happier, and Dave Desteno from How God Works and more. Head to give directly.org slash happiness lab to learn more and make a
Starting point is 00:30:27 contribution. And if you're a first time donor, giving multiplier will even match your gift. That's give directly.org slash happiness lab to donate. Hey, I'm Kelly. And some of you may know me as Laura Winslow. And I'm Telma, also known as Aunt Rachel. If those names ring a bell, then you probably are familiar with the show that we were both on back in the 90s called Family Matters. Kelly and I have done a lot of things and played a lot of roles over the years, but both of us are just so proud to have been part of Family Matters. Did you know that we were one of the longest running sitcoms with the black cast? When we were making the show, there were so many moments filled the joy and laughter and
Starting point is 00:31:05 cut up that I will never forget. Oh, girl, you got that right. The look that you all give me is so black. All black people know about the look. On each episode of Welcome to the Family, we'll share personal reflections about making the show. Yeah, we'll even bring in part of the cast and some other special guests to join in the fun and spill some tea.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Listen to Welcome to the Family with Telma and Kelly on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Radhi Dvluca, and I am the host of a really good cry podcast. This week, I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the crappy childhood fairy, a creator, teacher, and guide helping people heal from the lasting emotional wounds of unsafe or chaotic childhoods. We talk about how the things we went through when we were younger can still show up in our adult lives, in our relationships, our reactions, even in the way we feel in our own bodies.
Starting point is 00:32:00 And Anna opens up about her own story, what helped her notice the patterns she was stuck in, and how she slowly started teaching her body that it is safe now. So when I got attacked, it was very random, four guys jumped out of a car and just started beating me and my friend. And they broke my jaw on my teeth. I was unconscious. Then I woke up and I screamed. And I screamed because even though I didn't know who I was or where I was, something in me was just like, hold on, wait, they could kill me.
Starting point is 00:32:26 And I'm not going to let that happen. I'm not going to let that happen. I'm going to get through this. And I did. Listen to a really good cry on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Siket, what did your friend say? The guys. Look, all the guys from Jones season.
Starting point is 00:32:44 And we're all very, very, very, very close. And, you know, they applauded the relationship. Pascal was, you know, all hands down, as were all the other men and Jordan. Everyone gave me the thumbs up. I will say this, however, when I really start to develop deep feelings for Monica B, I struggle with, okay, who am I gonna call to sort of rationalize these feelings?
Starting point is 00:33:05 Like I'm walking through the aisle of the supermarket and they got the music playing. And if it's a romantic song, I'm standing in the middle of an aisle in the supermarket. And I get home and I'm like, who do I call to rationalize these feelings? I was going to call Pascal and I thought, no, probably not. So I called Mark Anderson and Mark spent 30 minutes on the phone with me. He had me crying like a baby, like, St.K., this is what we live for.
Starting point is 00:33:33 You're falling in love. Just fall, just lean into it. Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. Yes. And I'm a, I'm really. really feeling this?
Starting point is 00:33:45 You're feeling and I'm freezing, as in frozen. So we're at dinner the other day, and I told Mark, all those were at dinner, I told Mark, just from making me cry like that, you're paying for dinner, buddy. I mean, this is. Now, how did you get to know Mark so well? Well, you know, during the show, you know, and you all know this, during the show, you're only really close with certain people. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:09 And then after the show, you know, you start to develop closer friendships as you're, to have intimate conversations. And the one thing I really, really love about the relationship that we have with all the men is that if I call, they typically pick up the phone and they answer. Mark moved here to Southern California, and I wanted to welcome him and talk with him through it
Starting point is 00:34:28 and this, that, and the other. So if you ever talk to Mark nowadays, you're going to get another version of Mark because he used to be my own manner in the other day, he's like, these mofolds on his freeways out here or just like, Mark, is that you? I text him a couple weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:34:42 There was a rumor, you know, the stuff on on the social media and I said is it true that said that they were engaged and he said why who wants to know I go talk to me mark he said what I read isn't true but you never know so I think it's coming we got to have him on Kathy both of them but we've been asking you guys all the questions we're going to give it to you do you have any questions for Kathy or myself The Neiman Marcus phone number I'm happy to give to you before we hang on. So I just want to say that you guys are amazing. You are trailblazing, sitting the paths for us.
Starting point is 00:35:29 And I just thank you. You're everywhere. You're doing the thing. And just congratulations. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Monica. That's really sweet. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:35:36 I will echo and double down what Monica just said. I mean, I see the pictures of you all at these different events. And like, I feel proud that you all dress the way that you do. I mean, I love it. I love the, you know, you're not back in the 80s or 90s or even 2000. I mean, you're fashionable, you're fashion forward, and you're just out there doing your thing. And I applaud that. I mean, we're golden, but we're not dead.
Starting point is 00:36:00 So keep doing. Yeah, darn right. Somebody just made a comment I was receiving an award in Las Vegas being an officiant. And it was such an honor. And the dress that the designer said. for me to wear somebody said you're not 30 anymore susan how could you wear that when 9000 other comments came in like you rocked it you look elegant blah blah blah there's always one there's always one so we'll never dress like old people Susan i will i will ask you this so i'm going to ask

That's half of it. The other half of it is she has the Gucci glasses. Now she's got my Gucci watch. The only thing missing is a Gucci purse, baby. I mean, so get busy. Okay, Valentine's Day is coming. Monica, did you say that the only missing is a Gucci purse? he said that he knows so look for it for Valentine's Day
