Always excited to be back.
And you will not believe we have two very special guests today.
Please welcome our former Golden Bachelor, Gary Turner, and the best part is his fiancé, Lana.
Welcome.
Hi, guys.
How are you?
Hi, guys.
Wonderful.
We're doing great.
Yeah.
It's so good to see you.
I got to say, you make a beautiful couple.
Yeah, I think we kind of do.
I think so, too.
I think so.
Oh, gosh, she's pretty.
She's real pretty.
You've done well, Gary.
You've done well.
All right, well, listen, there's so much that we want to get in today.
So we're just going to jump right into it.
First, Lana, we're going to start with you.
Tell us about yourself.
I've learned that your name is Lana, not Lana, so that's number one.
Tell us where are you from?
What do you do?
Give us your story.
Yes. So I was born and raised in a small town in Indiana, Auburn, Indiana, and spent my childhood there. I've moved around a little bit. I lived in outside of Atlanta a little bit for three years. And then back to Fort Wayne. And then just about three years ago moved down to the Indianapolis area. I love it there. Children down here. So I have three kids. I have my oldest daughter, Rachel, and she lives down by me here in Indy. I have.
a son, Nathan, Nate. He lives in New York. And then my youngest, Jordan, she is down here as well.
So she's a first year teacher. And so two out of my three kids are around me. So I'm really happy
about that. And I have a grandson, Shep. So they're the best. So tell us how you met.
How did you meet our Gary? Yes. I'm going to have to abbreviate that because it's a long
winded story. But I watched his season. I watched all of you beautiful ladies.
That's the only reason I knew of Gary and all of you is from the show.
That's awesome.
And I don't know, something popped up on my phone about a friend request and it said Gary Turner.
And so I thought, I don't know, somehow I thought I was already friends with him.
So I went to my computer and it said I was.
And so I thought, well, what do you have to lose?
So I sent him a message on Messenger.
And to my surprise, he answered me.
Good job.
From there, so.
Wow.
So what was your dating life before, Gary?
I had divorced about a year or so, a year and a half ago.
And so I was really just happy to just, you know, go through life.
And I had my grandson and my kids by me.
So, you know, at some point I knew I'd probably meet somebody that I'd want to spend my life with.
But I wasn't really in a rush.
So it just, I just knew whenever it was meant to be, something would come my way.
and it was it was fine that way so the first meet was perfect like the butterflies the sparks
and how they when did it start getting really serious from the start yeah i knew it that was like
from the start i mean it's magical it's getting close to eight months since we met
neither of us is stop smiling it's it's like it was that good right from the get go and you know
you have to kind of be cautious and is this for real and all of that but man it is it really and you've
spent enough time together to learn each other's habits and the annoying things i mean we are of age
now and things do annoy you you know some you got to know what you can work with what you can't so
i guess you figured that out as well by now well i'm guessing so since they're engaged but i want to
i want to know i have a couple of questions here how fast did you guys start talking about getting
I mean, clearly you're engaged, and we'll get to that in a minute, but, you know, it's a big jump from meeting someone to saying, would you get married, you know, having that conversation?
Yeah, I think the question was, would you consider getting married again?
And we both had to look at that and answer positively before we move forward.
And that was really, yeah, it's probably, you know, two months ago, you know, because, you know, the consideration has to be there.
It's not like we're ready to make a decision on it at that point, but we want to know if it's on the table, a possibility.
Well, did you talk about living together or it was.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
That was a bigger part of the conversation because like right now, my house is for sale.
I may have it sold.
And so the conversation has been, you know, Lana, I'm going to be parking my ass here, you know, for a couple months until we find a house together.
Yeah.
And so you're staying with Lana right now.
Yeah.
Well, like I'll head back to the lakehouse today after, you know, at the end of the day.
But, you know, we progress from spending weekends together to spending three days a week together to four days a week together to the point where, okay, we were really kind of pissed off and we weren't spending every day of the week together.
I want to see the ring.
Enough of the talk.
Let's see.
Get it all the way.
Gare, did you pick this out by yourself?
Well, there's an interesting story.
Oh, let's go.
It's beautiful, Lana.
Thank you.
Lanna and I went to this jewelers, and I had a basic idea of what she wanted and what I wanted.
And then we went to London and Paris, and I saw the Eiffel Tower.
And, you know, it was spectacular that night.
We woke up, you know, put the shades up, and there it was sparkling in front of us.
I'm believing.
And I came back to the jeweler, and I said, I want the side of Lanna's engagement ring to look like the Eiffel Tower.
I got goosebumps.
I have goosebumps.
And so there's, you know, the sparkle, you know, the band.
Yes.
Take a picture and send it to my phone.
Yeah, Gary, take a picture.
We need that.
I need that.
I will.
Oh, that is beautiful.
I sat down with them.
I said, this is the design I really want to have.
Came back a couple weeks later.
They executed it perfectly.
And then so I held that ring for, I don't know, three, four weeks before I decided how I wanted to do it.
Well, tell us.
You didn't know, Lana.
you had no idea he got it?
I had a feeling.
No, I had no idea when he actually proposed that it was going to happen then.
That's the best part.
I want to know how romantic was the proposal.
Where was it?
Well, you know, we had taken, we have taken a lot of trips.
And so we had gone to Niagara Falls about a month or two ago.
And, you know, that being the honeymoon capital, everybody thought, I think when that
was going to happen then.
I didn't, you know, I don't know if it did know when or what it was going to happen.
but we were on another vacation on the way to Myrtle Beach
and we had stopped in Asheville part of the way there
to break up the drive and so he did like a little magic trick
and so there were some questions that he kind of like guessed my thoughts
and then there was another piece of paper that said will you marry me
and I instantly cried where are you were you outside were you in the car
where were you we were in the hotel room did you have a plan Gary
Oh, I totally did.
I rehearsed the magic trick a half a dozen times.
Oh, how cool.
So I had two solo cups, and under one solo cup was the wedding ring.
And so when I guessed the correct answer, then the last Post-it note said, will you marry me?
And, you know, we've kind of said that before.
And I've said, you know, are you going to marry me and so forth?
And so she was kind of, her attention peaked.
But then when I lifted the other solo cup that had their ring, it was like,
yes it gets emotional because you know there's a lot of feelings there yes i get it we're so happy
for you we really are thank you susan so do we of course we are do you have a wedding date are you
planning a wedding and am i invited yeah absolutely we better be there yes to that uh we really
haven't talked wedding plans yet i think we're just sort of basking in the engagement and uh you know
working out some details as far as his house and so yeah we'll think about that you got a lot to do yeah but
it'll come but you know what even that you didn't set the date just knowing and wearing that ring and
you're being together that's that's the best part yeah what did your kids say well so before i asked
her i i showed the ring to her oldest daughter rachel and i showed the ring to angie and i said
I've just giving you guys a heads up.
This is coming.
And they both wanted to have some kind of a setup where all the family was there.
And I'd ask the question and they'd come out of the woodwork.
And I go, you know what?
Not just time.
That's not going to work.
So I kind of went my own way with it.
Good for you.
Yeah.
I know your daughters are very happy for you.
It's not like we don't talk to them, you know.
And Lana, we've got to get to know your daughters now.
And so.
Yes.
No, they'll be thrilled.
So, yeah, everybody's ecstatic.
So happy.
It's so exciting.
On the latest episode of Next Question with me, Katie Couric, I sat down with Bernie Sanders, who is 84 years old, has spent 34 years in Congress, and he can still pack a rally with people a quarter of his age.
Denver, 34,000 people come out.
Salt Lake City, 20,000 people are.
You know, huge turnouts, people are really dissatisfied about the status quo.
His fighting oligarchy tour with AOC and other young progressives has become a movement.
But is his message too far to the left?
Well, he certainly doesn't think so.
Is that sound like a radical idea, Katie.
Is that too far left for you?
Okay, okay.
I get your point, Bernie.
We talk about the billionaire class, the cost of living.
And of course, the government shutdown.
not to mention the current state of the Democratic Party.
To me, the failure of the Democratic Party
has been an unwillingness to recognize the relationship.

All I know is what I've been told,
and that to have truth is a whole lie.
For almost a decade, the murder of an 18-year-old girl
from a small town in Graves County, Kentucky, went unsolved
until a local homemaker, a journalist, and a handful of girls
came forward with a story.
I'm telling you, we know Quincy Kilder, we know.
A story that law enforcement used to convict six people,
and that got the citizen investigator on national TV.
Through sheer persistence and nerve,
this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Curran.
My name is Maggie Freeling.
I'm a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, producer,
and I wouldn't be here if the truth were that easy to find.
I did not know her and I did not kill her,
or rape or burn or any of that other stuff that y'all said.
They literally made me say that I took a match and struck and threw it on her.
They made me say that I poured gas on her.
From Lava for Good, this is Graves County,
a show about just how far our legal system will go
in order to find someone to blame.
America, y'all better work the hell up.

And I'm Mark and Delicado.
You might know us as Hilda and Justin from Ugly Betty.
We played mother and son on the show, but in real life, we're best friends.
And I'm all grown up now.
Welcome to our new podcast.
Viva Betty!
Yay!
Woo-hoo!
Can you believe it has been almost 20 years?
That's not even possible.
You're the only one that looks that much different.
I look exactly the same.
We're re-watching the series from start to finish
and getting into all the fashions, the drama,
and the behind-the-scenes moments that you've never heard before.
You're going to hear from guests like America Ferreira,
Vanessa Williams, Michael Yuri, Becky Newton,
Tony Plana, and so many more.
Icons, each and every one.
All of a sudden, like, someone, like, comes running up to me,
and it's Salma Hayek.
And she's like, you are my ugly bitchy.
And I was like, what is she even talking about?

Ancient Athenians used to scratch names onto oyster shells, and they called these Oster Khan.
to vote politicians into exile.

No way.

friends always stop by.
Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet
was through the Gulf of Mexico.
No, the America.
No, the America.
The Gulf of Mexico, continue to be it forever and ever.
It blows me away how progressive Mexico was in this moment.
They had land reform, they had labor rights, they had education rights.
Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place them in their tombs for the afterlife.

Michael Lewis here.
My book The Big Short tells the story of the buildup and
burst of the U.S. housing market back in 2008. It follows a few unlikely but lucky people who saw
the real estate market for the black hole it would become and eventually made billions of dollars
from that perception. It was like feeding the monster, said Eisman. We fed the monster until it blew up.
The monster was exploding. Yet on the streets of Manhattan, there was no sign anything important
had just happened. Now, 15 years after the Big Short's original release,
and a decade after it became an Academy Award-winning movie,
I've recorded an audiobook edition for the very first time.
The Big Short Story, what it means when people start betting against the market,
and who really pays for an unchecked financial system,
it is as relevant today as it's ever been,
offering invaluable insight into the current economy and also today's politics.

So this question for both of you, both of you are recently divorced.
How is that, have people said to you, you're together too soon?
Tell, talk to us about that.
I can answer that for my side.
When I, you know, introduced my Gary to my kids and, you know, they just saw us interact early on.
and my oldest daughter lives closest to me, so she has seen it from the get-go,
and my son-in-law, Noah, as well.
And so when we started talking, they kind of like, Mom, how serious is it?
Like, are you serious with him?
And I'm like, yeah, it's serious, guys.
I mean, we pretty much have fallen in love.
And she goes, I knew it.
She goes, I could just see it.
And they both said they knew from the start that we made a good couple.
And they said they were the same way.
They said, when you meet somebody and you have those feelings, you just know.
And they said, we knew it with you guys, too, from the start.
So no, for them, they're like, no, it's not too soon.
It's not too fast because you just can tell when you met the right person.
And you, Gary?
And for me, you know, I don't want to sound disrespectful at all.
I don't think of myself as being divorced.
What marriage?
It was such a short time.
And it was, you know, in an artificial environment that,
yeah, I have to stop myself and say, yeah, you know what, I am divorced. You know, it's not like I'm
that guy that was married 43 years and then did nothing. I am divorced. But the comment of it being
too soon has never come to me. You know, that question has not been asked. There are some things
that are timeless. You know, and I think one of them is when you meet the right person, you don't even
think about where it fits on the timeline.
It's just when it's right, it's right.
And Gary, you're, we talked about it on the show, this whole thing of, if you love someone,
you'll make it work.
You guys are living proof of that.
Your house is for sale.
You're moving to Indianapolis.
You want a house with a pool so you can have your families.
You've made it work.
And I think that is so obvious listening to you guys talk.
And what they want and they're taking action.
It's happening.
there's no stalling there's no second guessing you're 100% in and god you guys are great you're giving me
goosebumps I love yeah you're giving me I wish I had it Lana how's it feel to be part of bachelor
nation now I as you are yeah well great no I welcome it it is a lot of fun so I mean does it feel weird
you're dating you're here engaged to the guy that you know we we dated him before you did you know
I know right yeah well let's be clear
I didn't.
Is that odd for you?
It's all good.
You know, I kissed him one day.
I'm just saying.
I watched you see it then, so I saw it all.
You know, you just kind of have to know what comes with the territory.
And I know that about him.
And I'm okay with it.
Yeah.
And that's being secure who you are.
Yes.
Yeah.
So how did you celebrate after you got engaged?
Like, did you get back in the car and keep driving to Myrtle B?
Well, yeah. I mean, we spent the night. It was pre-planned to be there that night. Yeah. Yeah, we went to Myrtle Beach and we met up with some of the pickleball group that you guys met. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We still travel together and do a lot of stuff together. So yeah. And then we spent, I don't know, was it eight or nine days in 10 days in Myrtle Beach. Nice. So Gary, being on the water and she obviously in Annapolis, there's water. Are you thinking about?
about buying something towards that end?
Are you leaving Indiana or?
No, you know, family is here.
And so she has two kids here, a grandson,
and I got Angie close by.
And we keep working on Jenny to come to this area,
you know, to relocate.
We've both had houses with pools.
And quite honestly, that's where we want to get to,
is we want to get to a house with,
we don't want a huge house.
You know, we don't want to overburden us.
it now. Yeah, but we kind of want the pool. So that's what we'll start looking for.
Okay. Where? What area? We're going to stay close. That's what I'm saying. Yes, down there. Okay.
Westfield is where Lana lives now. So Carmel, Westfield, Fisher's is where Angie is. So it's all close.
How far is Jenny from you? I know she's a couple hours maybe? Yeah, from where I live now,
she's on the other side of Chicago. So it depends on traffic there. You can make it in as little as
three and a half hours, but sometimes it'll take five hours. Wow. So that's a hike.
Wasn't it three plus hours from the airport to get to your house, to the lake house?
Yeah. Yes. Just about. Okay. So obviously we are so thrilled for you too, but I don't know if we
can talk about it, but your book that is coming out. I, first of all, someone sent me an excerpt
from the book where you said you wished you had misjudged me. I mean,
this podcast's all about me, Gary, that you would misjudge me.
Oh, you know that.
Everything is.
But I just want to say, a lot of my friends reach out and said, do you know that he said
he misjudging, I said, yeah, Gary called me right after the wedding after, you know,
after that all happened.
And so thank you, Gary.
I wished I'd gotten the rose too.
I just want to, I just want to acknowledge that that was very kind of you to say that.
Thank, thank.
I'm looking forward.
If you get the excerpt in the book where I say,
I misjudged
and I wish I could have done it different
and I'll just say zip it to that.
Did you get that excerpt?
Yeah, okay.
Yeah.
I hope you didn't talk about gas.
I just read, I had so many friends.
I don't know where they got it from,
but so many people said,
you know, he really didn't hate you.
I said, I know he didn't hate me,
but it was just funny when I got that.
Yeah.
So, you know, I mean, I just still want to say,
Lana, just so you know,
Susan got a gift from him.
Everyone got gifts one-on-ones.
Yours truly got absolutely nothing.
It's not too late, though, Gary.
You could send me a signed copy of your book, for example.
There you go.
And notice how she's not at all bitter about these things.
She's very congenial about it.
It took a minute.
It took a minute.
Now, she's doing way better.
I mean, he came to his senses.
It's all good.
He's found the woman of his dreams who's absolutely gorgeous.
You guys look great together.
I know.
right wow it's just so so trips coming up anything any plans coming up we are going to
montigo bay in December we're going to san diego for the pickleball national pickleball tournament
we've got a few things coming up okay so we got to stop and ask you mr golden bachelor
gary turner there is now another golden bachelor have you guys been watching the season what do you
think about the show have you compared yourself at all at any moments like
I remember that moment.
Oh, that was hard.
Yes.
That is exactly why I'm watching is, you know, I know what it feels like because I'm the only guy on earth that's been there before him.
Right.
You know, in our age group.
And, you know, early on, I, you know, I've watched the shows and I go, okay, I'm not hooked yet.
I'm not hooked yet.
And as time has gone by, I've become more and more interested in where he's at, especially now when he has the difficult decision.
to make. You know, he's down to two. Yeah. And my heart went out to him, you know, this week when he
went from three to two. Who do you think he's going to pick, Gary? I can't say. Oh, come on. This is
Vegas odds here. Okay, Lana, talk to us, Lana, talk to us, Lana, you're having to watch it. You're a
female. Talk to me. I'll tell you what, I could, it's a toss up. I think both ladies left are
wonderful. They seem awesome in different ways, but both very genuine and, you know, beautiful
women. You know, I don't know. I kind of have a little bit of a favorite, but I stop Gary sometimes
and ask him, you know, what was going on for you? Yes, yeah. So a lot of comparisons just kind
from getting his point of view of knowing how that is. Oh, but I am going to ask, who do you think
I want to know, Lana, who do you think he's going to pick? Oh, that's a, that's if you had to guess,
I honestly love both women, but I love, I think Peg's energy is really.
That was going to be my answer, too.
But Gary, you were so emotional.
I remember tears and us bonding afterwards, like, it's okay.
You felt so torn and you felt bad letting people go.
Not that he didn't, but he didn't show it like you did.
There was a difference for me.
I couldn't keep that in.
You know, still today,
when I watch him have a rose ceremony, I get a lump in my throat.
I think about you guys.
I think about Kathy and Susan and Nancy and Joan and on the line.
I really do, you guys.
I don't know that we'll ever be able to get together as a group again,
but believe me, in my heart,
give it a minute. We will.
A wonderful, wonderful bunch of people.
We love you, too.
Yeah, I, I, I, I've said to Susan, uh, those two women, the last two who, you know,
we've met them, they're both lovely women.
We don't know who he's going to choose, but they're so different.
And Susan and I feel like we are like peg.
We are the, you know, energy, outgoing, never, walk into a room and everyone's your new friend.
And, and Cindy's much quieter, uh, sensitive.
and they seem so different.
And I don't know.
I just think that's got to be an impossible choice
because they're so different.
And he seems.
And Debbie, she should be the next golden bachelorette.
Who should Susan?
I'm sorry, Kathy, after Kathy.
Never give up the campaign, Kathy.
Just keep pitching.
Keep one of these days that ship's going to land for you.
Oh, Gary, you have no idea.
off record I'll tell you a bit about my recent dating life you don't even want to hear but wait I want to
I would we cannot finish this uh without asking how is your health you know I you I think I told
this scary I have a friend who has the same diagnosis which can you believe uh that you have he's doing
great uh he went through the treatment he's cancer free said you know his doctor just said you know your old age
is going to get you before this but how are you doing and I I'm hoping that's the same for
me. You know, the doctors say that until I have three or four of these specific symptoms,
that there is no treatment. You just keep going. You get your six-month blood tests and
away you go. How do you feel? Do you feel any symptoms or just feel normal? It's like.
I actually feel pretty damn good. He feels in a lot. That's supposed to feel, but I think I feel
better than the average. That's good. But I want to share one thing with you when
You know, Lana's sitting here so gorgeous and sweet and everything.
There's a very sensitive side to her.
And our first date at dinner, you know, there was several things she did that I thought were very thoughtful.
But about halfway through the entree, I thought it was only fair to bring it up to her that I had cancer.
And I'm into the starting to give her this explanation.
She goes, oh, Gary, I've already researched it.
I'm fine with that.
Oh, my God, that is so awesome.
So, well, it was common knowledge, public knowledge, and she's not jumping in thinking, not, we Googled people, Gary.
It's 2025.
What's Google?
You know, are you talking like that book-faced thing?
Yeah, now let me say, after you have to get Google down, Gary, then you're going to start learning about AI.
We'll give you the two-during lessons.
Oh, I love my chat.
I just don't tell you and help you do it.
On the latest episode of Next Question with me, Katie Couric,
I sat down with Bernie Sanders, who is 84 years old,
has spent 34 years in Congress,
and he can still pack a rally with people a quarter of his age.
Denver, 34,000 people come out, Salt Lake City, 20,000 people out.
You know, huge turnouts.
People are really dissatisfied about the status quo.
His fighting oligarchy tour with AOC and other young
progressives, has become a movement. But is his message too far to the left? Well, he certainly
doesn't think so. Is that like a radical idea, Katie? Is that too far left for you?
Okay. Okay. Wait. I get your point, Bernie.
We talk about the billionaire class, the cost of living, and of course, the government
shutdown, not to mention the current state of the Democratic Party. To me, the failure of the
Democratic Party has been an unwillingness to recognize the relationship.

All I know is what I've been told, and that's a half-truth is a whole lie.
For almost a decade, the murder of an 18-year-old girl from a small town in Graves County, Kentucky, went unsolved,
until a local homemaker, a journalist, and a handful of girls came forward with a story.
I'm telling you, we know Quincy Kilder, we know.
A story that law enforcement used to convict six people, and that got the citizen investigator on national TV.
Through sheer persistence and nerve, this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Curran.
My name is Maggie Freeling. I'm a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, producer,
And I wouldn't be here if the truth were that easy to find.
I did not know her and I did not kill her, or rape or burn or any of that other stuff that y'all said.
They literally made me say that I took a match and struck and threw it on her.
They made me say that I poured gas on her.

You might know us as Hilda and Justin from Ugly Betty.
We played mother and son on the show, but in real life, we're best friends.
And I'm all grown up now.
Welcome to our new podcast, Viva Betty!
Yay!
Woo-hoo!
Can you believe it has been almost 20 years?
That's not even possible.
Well, you're the only one that looks that much different.
I look exactly the same.
We're re-watching the series from start to finish.
And getting into all the fashions, the drama, and the behind-the-scenes moments that you've never heard before.
You're going to hear from guests like America Ferreira, Vanessa Williams, Michael Yuri, Becky Newton, Tony Plana, and so many more.
Icons, each and every one.
All of a sudden, like, someone, like, comes running up to me, and it's Selma Hayek.
And she's like, you are my ugly Betty.
And I was like, what is she even talking about?

And on our podcast, Hungry for History, we mix two of our favorite things, food and history.
Ancient Athenians used to scratch names onto oyster shells, and they called these OsterCon, to vote politicians into exile.
So our word ostracize is related to the word oyster.
No way.
Bring back the OsterCon.
And because we've got a very
My Casa is Su Casa kind of vibe on our show,
friends always stop by.
Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet
was through the Gulf of Mexico.
No, the America.
The Gulf of Mexico,
continue to be it forever and ever.
It blows me away how progressive Mexico was in this moment.
They had land reform, they had labor rights,
They had education rights.
Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place them in their tombs for the afterlife.

My book The Big Short tells the story of the buildup and burst of the U.S. housing market back in 2008.
It follows a few unlikely but lucky people who saw the real estate market for the black.
black hole it would become, and eventually made billions of dollars from that perception.
It was like feeding the monster, said Isman.
We fed the monster until it blew up.
The monster was exploding.
Yet on the streets of Manhattan, there was no sign anything important had just happened.
Now, 15 years after the Big Short's original release, and a decade after it became an Academy
Award-winning movie, I've recorded an audiobook edition for the very first time.
The big short story, what it means when people start betting against the market,
and who really pays for an unchecked financial system,
it is as relevant today as it's ever been,
offering invaluable insight into the current economy and also today's politics.

I'm so happy to see you to.
The smiles are so genuine.
I mean, just like twinkle in her eye and her ring.
I mean, seriously.
I got to say, Bachelor, it's all about, you know the thing, trusting the process,
finding love, but all kidding aside, to see you two, both of you have had, you know,
you've had divorces, you've had issues in your life.
Gary, you lost a wife.
To see people at our age, all right, Lana's a little younger, but still, finding to
find, to find your, a little bit, to find someone that you love and see you guys happy together
really should give everybody hope that love is out there. You can find it. It just, you know,
sometimes it hits you when you least expect it. And you guys are living proof of that.
Yeah. And the show did work because I wouldn't have known of Gary had it not been for the show.
So in the, you know, the roundabout way, the show really did work. Yeah. Okay. I have a question for both of you.
and I, one at a time.
What's your favorite thing about Gary and Gary, your favorite thing about Lana?
That's that we can talk about.
Good qualifier.
My favorite thing about her is her eternal positive attitude and energy and smile.
She's never, never down, never, she's always like,
And every time I feel a little shitty about something,
I look at that smiley face and I go, get your ass up.
So what's yours?
I want to know.
Gary's heart, I mean, from the very beginning,
obviously knowing he was the Golden Bachelor, you know, it's a big deal.
He was, you know, huge.
And so meeting him, I really went into it just wanting to know his heart.
And, you know, that just shines.
And he's genuine.
And, you know, as you know, a loving person.
Yeah.
Oh, is it, Lana, is it different, I'm sure when you guys go out, you're recognized, how is that for you?
I love it.
I actually embrace.
It's like, look, wait, I got to get dressed, hold on.
I look for it.
I kind of look for the look when they see him.
I'm like, oh, you've been noticed over there or whatever.
So he's very gracious, as you know, and he won't turn down a photo op or, you know, to talk to somebody about.
you know the experience but um i i actually don't mind it at all it's kind of fun so and i know
have your families met yet the kids meet the kids yes everybody gets along it's just it's magical
really it just it truly i'm honestly listening to you guys to your story looking at the love
between you it really is a magical story it truly is i mean the sparks have been from the get go
and they just haven't let up.
So it's, you know, it's fate.
Gary, I know that feeling.
I do think it's really, really nice how well our families have blended together.
I mean, you know my daughters.
They're rambunctious.
And we like your daughters.
Hers are too.
So it's not like there's a problem there.
They go right along, get along well.
And we've had a number of family events back and forth where they, you know,
Well, we're waiting for our invitation.
We want to come out and see you guys.
We want to come out.
We tried.
Gary, you thought Fred was up here that time.
We were going to get together that weekend.
And I was like, he's in St. Martin.
I can't.
We got to wait until they.
Lina, when you look at Jen and have conversation with Jen, do you just see him all over?
Yeah.
Oh, I want to see him.
Yeah, she's very much like Gary.
She is totally him.
You know what I was like to talk about here, too, so she's a very very.
of fun as well. She is. They are, they are fun ladies. Oh, oh my gosh. Love them both.
So do you have any questions for Kathy or I? I don't follow along as much as I used to.
I guess what's going on in the relationship area for the two of you?
Well, you know. I would love to date. I am not dating anyone, but I would love to. If you know
anyone, Gary, send him my way. You two, Anna.
Susan. And for me, I have a long-distance relationship that so far is working nicely,
so we'll see. Good. It's not easy, much more distance than you two had, you know.
Yeah, yeah. So the other thing I would ask is, of all the travel you guys do,
and you're very busy, what's been your favorite thing to do in the last six, eight months?
I can answer that. What?
Coffee talk in our rooms with coffee.
talking shit
her and I. It's so much
fun. I mean, it is
fun. I will tell you, Gary, when we're
together, I
just turn on, I don't know if you saw it
online, Lana, maybe you did, our luggage
falling out of the car.
I mean, Kathy, causing the
luggage to fall out of the car.
Whatever.
Let's tell you a story. I would say the most
fun thing, Susan
and I took a cruise to
Greece this summer in Istanbul.
And I will tell you, it's always the same for me, meeting people, you know, sharing our, our fun times with other people and our story and having other people go, you know, I got up off the chair and started living my life because you and Susan have given me hope.
That's been the most fun for me.
Yes.
Did you guys get recognized in Greece?
Yes.
Yes.
Istanbul.
I was amazed when we got recognized at the top of the iPhone.
Tower.
Yeah.
And so.
I'm sorry.
It sticks in.
It sticks.
The Eiffel Tower is my granddaughter's dream.
And I was supposed to take her.
She's turning 13 next month.
We were leaving September.
And my boyfriend, who is French, said, no, no, no, darling, you don't go September.
They pick it.
They march.
They're trying to overthrow the governor, president, whatever.
He goes, not a good time.
And sure enough, I saw it all over the news.
And Bella was extremely disappointed.
but we're going to do it in the spring.
I have to say one more thing, Gary, before we let you go.
Lana, this is for you.
Gary has come a long way.
The first night, and Gary, you're not going to remember this.
The first conversation we had in the mansion,
you asked me what I like to do about travel.
And I said, my dream is to go to all seven continents.
I love to travel.
And you looked at me.
Do you remember what you said?
I do not.
You looked at me.
And this before I got trashed, you said, you said to me, you know, I don't think we would necessarily
be a good fit because I don't really want to go overseas.
I like traveling in the United States.
Look at you now.
Do you remember saying that to me?
You know, it's proof that I can evolve.
And that's why I said this is for Lana.
He has evolved.
He is a man of the world.
He's a Renaissance man.
So whatever you've done to him, Lana.
Yeah, you, Gary. You're not stuck in the lower 50. Good for you.
I mean, you're never still. You're never home. You're as bad as Kathy and I.
It's good to be that way. Don't you love it? Do you love it?
I love to travel. I love to see new places. And yeah, we've got a lot of bucket list items to check off.
And you know what? You're going to have a lifetime. You have years to do it all because that's, you found each other and you deserve a lifetime of happiness, both of you.
Thank you.
Oh, Kathy, that was very nice of you to say.
Thank you.
I mean.
Just give me real quick before we get.
What is on the top of each of your bucket list?
Just one thing.
I want to go to Switzerland.
Okay.
And I want to cruise to Alaska.
I've done both of those.
Of course she has.
I've done both of those trips.
Which one do you recommend?
If you had to pick the next one, I will tell you, I've cruised to Alaska and did the inland passage and went to Mount McKinley.
Donali now
I would
absolutely do the Alaska first
Switzerland's beautiful but you know you can
yodel from any mountain
She can yodel by the way
She can yodel
No look we gotta hear it
I cannot do it under pressure
But my heritage is Swiss
Yes
So that's where my ancestors
I mean Switzerland is beautiful
But Alaska is it is spiritually moving
It is an unbelievable trip

It will help you.
I love it.
She's my kind of girl, and I do love both of your girls.
It was such a pleasure having both of you.
