Hello, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Golden Hour. Before we pick back up
with Jared Freed, I have to jump in and talk about the fantasy suites. Susan won't be able
to do our recap today, but she'll be with Jared and me today.
So make sure you stick around.
Okay, I can't wait to get into this.
Let's go.
So I'm going to start with Zoe, even though I know she was not the first one in the fantasy suites.
I just have to say, I could start falling in love.
It's a tough situation.
Let's have a chance to talk about stuff.
Like, this is the end of the show, folks.
We're not going to talk about having children and all of that.
It's ridiculous at this point.
I mean, to me, it was so obvious she was going home.
I love, love, love that Rachel showed up in support of Zoe, Rachel from Joey's season.
I love that she is so supportive of women. I mean, that made me feel great.
Okay, let's move on. Grant, he says, you know, we would, we could, folks, that means it's over.
I'm not feeling it. I get it. But, you know, here's the thing. If you're trying to see if you have a relationship with somebody or you're really trying to decide whether this is the
a person to send home. You know what you should do? You should have a date with someone where neither
one of you can talk because that's how you're really going to get to know each other. I mean,
I have to say, I burst out laughing when they went into this up into this yoga studio and it said
silencio. I was like, they've got to be kidding. So no talking. That was like, here's your ticket
out of here. I felt really sorry for her. They both were so uncomfortable.
You know, they kept saying, oh, there's not a lot of time left.
I wanted to say, yeah, you're just figuring that out now.
You know, same things like we still have a lot to talk about.
It felt like a first date to me, not the end of the road.
So, awkward.
If you didn't get the drift watching it, all you had to do is look at Grant's body language.
I mean, the conversation they had that night, you know, she said, tell me about you.
literally almost died when he said, well, you know, I have a mom and I have a dad. And then we talked
about his favorite color being blue. I just wanted to get out my engagement ring and say,
you know what? I just need a guy who has a mother and a father and likes the color blue. I mean,
really, this is this is the stuff of how you decide if she's your future wife. His face,
it was painful. That's all I can say. You know, he looked like he was about to get a dip, you know,
what is it, diphtheria, typhoid vaccine.
I mean, he was in pain.
So I think that for me, absolutely no surprise that she went home.
Sorry if I'm, if you haven't watched yet, and I burst your bubble on that one.
But I've been calling this for a few weeks.
I thought it was really sad.
And, you know, I always look at this from a mom's point of view when they're both saying to each other
that they could build a better family than we had growing up.
And, you know, I looked at the TV.
I talked to my TV a lot when I'm watching this.
I said, that's not love.
We all hope to build a loving family with our partner and a great family,
but that's not love for each other.
That's just doing better than your parents did.
Okay, so that does it for Zoe.
I feel sorry for her, but I don't think it's coming as a surprise to anyone that she
went home last night. Okay, well, okay, now let's get to Juliana.
Daisy comes, who doesn't love Daisy, also from Joey's season. I loved her advice saying,
you know, you know what you signed up for, you need to open up. Juliana, again, for everyone who
hasn't heard me say it a million times, is my hometown girl from Newton, Massachusetts, which is where I'm
from. And I have to say, spoiler alert for any of you, I have been saying all long that it's
going to be Latia. But when we get to Latia, I'll tell you why I think maybe it's not going to be
her and maybe it's going to be Juliana. Juliana clearly is struggling with her past experience
of being cheated on. And again, as a mom, who wants to see their daughter so upset and
crying because she still feels the emotions of six or seven years ago.
you know, from the past.
But I love her attitude.
She's happy and she has a great personality.
I did have a good laugh when she said on the four-wheelers.
She said, this is, what a crazy drive.
It's such, I love this side of Grant.
And I'm thinking, what side of Grant are we talking about?
The fact that he can drive fast and, you know, not talk?
I don't know.
I didn't get that.
but I love that he wants her to be herself and again can you see or hear the envy in my voice
after they have the ride on the on the four-wheelers and she's a you know she's fixing her hair
and her makeup and I'm thinking to myself really this is as bad as you look I mean on my best day
I don't think I ever looked as good as Juliana she is a beautiful girl here's the thing about
Juliana, if you pick up on the little subtle things, he cannot wipe the smile off his face.
It's like he got an A on a test. He cheated on and he never got caught. Like this guy is happy.
He wants her to open up. He says she's gorgeous, you know, with or without makeup. He thinks she's
beautiful, that white outfit. She looks like a million bucks. I think it was hard for her to tell Grant
that she'd been cheated on, although I feel like she's talked about that a lot, but she really did feel
minimized by her ex. Again, I always come back to being a mom, how hard that must be. She said she's still
working on fixing herself. And, you know, as a mom, we all want our daughters to be happy and find
love. And as a mom, I would struggle if my daughter was still struggling, you know, how many years later
about being cheated on.
I would wonder if, in fact, she is ready to get engaged or, in fact, is she willing to
trust him?
I don't know how the answer to that, but we're going to find out, you know, in next week.
I loved when Grant said where someone else screwed up, he sees treasure.
I mean, this guy, if this doesn't work out, Grant, you need to get a job writing cards
for Hallmark because you've got the words.
I don't know. I think they talked about making a good team. He said he's falling in love with
her. She feels seen and supported. Like, let's just sign the wedding bands now. They seem like
it's all there. They're comfortable with each other. She feels heard. They both love to laugh
together. Again, I think she's struggling a little bit with the issue of two other girls.
you know, if I look like Juliana, I wouldn't be worried, but I get that she is. That just comes with youth. And I don't mean to minimize that because I'm sure if I were in that position, I mean, I never got that far with Gary. Thank God. But if I had, I would have been worried about, you know, Teresa and Leslie. I could see that. But I do love that these girls seem to show such affinity for each other.
and really care about each other.
Okay, brings me to Latia, who Katie from Zach's season, who's engaged to Zach, who lives in my
hometown, well, my adopted hometown of Austin, Texas.
I love Katie and Zach, and I don't think I knew that Zach had slept with another woman,
and frankly, I don't care because he got Katie and she's amazing.
but I loved the advice that Katie gave to Latia, believe what he says, focus on the relationship.
And I think that's great advice.
When Grant said, again, that she would be a great wife and mother and he's falling in love with her.
And I'm thinking, I had to laugh because he said, again, you've got to pick up on the small things here, folks.
he said he wanted to see if she had a sense of adventure.
So let's put her on a zipline in the DR and see if she can hold on tightly.
I mean, there's adventure and there's adventure.
I actually have ziplined and it's fun, but it is scary.
Littia said, I'm not one for adventure.
I thought, well, that's one nail in the coffin for you.
And, you know, is that foreshadowing of what's to come?
Is that a good edit?
Is that, would they just dropping a hint that she won't be the one?
I don't know.
um letia the biggest thing about this this date uh she said she's not ready for physical intimacy
and i love that katy supported her in that um and again i'm i had a little bit of a laugh uh you know
grant seemed pretty nervous uh not too smiley uh when she said she was struggling with the other
woman and the other relationships and wasn't sure she was ready for physical intimacy.
Latia, I give you great kudos.
You know, Joan did that on the Golden Bachelorette, and I think you have to do what feels
right to you.
So, kudos to you.
I did find it, again, maybe a little bit of foreshadowing when she says she's 31 and she's
ready to have kids, and he's like, well, you know, I don't know, kids.
I mean, that seems pretty fast to me.
And I'm thinking, I don't know, two years, she's 33, doesn't seem fast to me, but whatever.
I do have a lot of respect for her, though, that she told them she didn't want to hear about the other women.
And I love the fact that she and Katie talked about her telling Grant that, and she actually did it.
So I love that she said, no sex.
You know, it's simple.
No is a complete sentence.
Grant took it well. I mean, what's he going to do? Really, at that point, what can he say?
But he tells Latia he loves her, which I don't know. I don't know. I'm sure somebody can correct me on this.
I'm not sure that on air another bachelor told a woman he loves her before they're at the altar getting the final rose.
I could be wrong. But he earnestly told Latia.
that he loved her.
So I'm hearing, I'm hearing something to my ear saying that Ben Higgins did.
So I stand corrected, but it's not common.
It's not common to have that happen.
So, you know, Latia says that she loves that he makes her feel safe and supported.
And she wants a husband where she feels safety and support and kindness and understanding.
And we love each other.
I mean, that's what I heard.
And it feels like we're supposed to be together.
Wow.
To me, that just sounded like a proposal.
I'm like, okay, maybe, you know, maybe it is Latia, not Juliana.
However, did everyone pick up on the fact, Grant starts backing out of that?
Whoa, you know, maybe I spoke too soon, you know, got caught up in the moment.
You know, and I wanted to say to him, Grant, you know, when you get caught up in the moment,
you put too much chocolate sauce on your ice cream or too many sprinkles.
You don't tell a woman you love her and you can see a life with her.
That, to me, maybe have gone a bit far.
Again, though, he seems so uncomfortable in this whole thing with Latia.
I don't know.
I just don't know.
But we know that Zoe and Grant weren't in a place to get married.
That comes under, duh.
I think with Juliana and and Latia, I think he really is struggling.
I think he really does love both of them.
You know, I should be so lucky to have two guys fawning after me,
but I see that it's a possibility.
I love the fact that he spoke with his parents.
And, you know, again, I hope.
I hope people didn't miss this fact. Again, as a mom and having children, my husband's passed away, so I would not have this opportunity. But the fact that his dad has been in rehab and through the magic of production and television, his mother and father are back together to talk to him. And to me, that was a poignant scene that they were together in support of their son. And again, it kind of makes me cry now. It's just I love that, that they are there to support their son.
son, because in the end, you know, we created these kids and we need to love and support them
whenever they need it. Sometimes when they don't need it, we need to do it. But I think the fact
that his mother said, you know, maybe, or hinted at in the promos, you know, don't choose either
one. I don't know. I don't see that happening, but maybe it does. I really do feel like he is
torn between two women. So I think.
in overall last night, Grant seems so uncomfortable to me. And maybe just the reality of
this is really coming down to a proposal in two or three days. The only time I thought he
seemed really sure of himself was when Jesse said, do you know what you're going to do tonight?
And he said, yes, I do. I mean, it was very emphatic. Yes. So again, I had made several
bets with my friends that Zoe was going home. And I was actually going to have to eat a pile of
dirt if I was wrong. So I'm really glad I was right on that one. I don't know. I've been saying
it's Latia. I want my hometown girl, Juliana, to win, putting Newton on the map. I don't know.
At this point, I think it's a toss-up. I could see it going either way. And I can't wait.
I cannot wait to see where this goes. All in all, it was a great night.
Lots of drama, lots of happiness, lots of sadness.
Grant, I'm wishing you good luck.
Okay, well, stay tuned for Grant's finale.
And in the meantime, let's get back to our good friend, Jared Freed.
I'm Jamil Hill, host of the Sports and Politics Podcasts, Politics.
And on the latest episode of Politics, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries joins me for a candid conversation about the state of
the Democratic Party. What do Republicans say to you privately that they won't say publicly?
Many of them are in fear of their political lives and that's been part of the challenge.
But we continue to say to them, you were elected to defend your constituents, to stand up
for your constituents. And there's life after Congress. And you should be willing to actually
want to be able to look back on your time in the House of Representatives knowing that you can
keep your head held high because you did the right thing. Donald.
Trump is gone in three and a half years, but their legacy or their failure to stand up to
the extremism and the unprecedented assault on America, as we know it, will be with them
forever.

I'm from a very rural background myself.
My dad is a farmer and her mom is a cousin.
So, like, it's not like...
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison
or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
that mimic military basic training.
These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline,
physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program
and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming
and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.

We're back with part two with Jared Fried.
So let's dive right back in.
Are you ready, Jared?
I'm ready.
You guys ask me what makes a good first date to get to a second date.
I would say, I've thought about this.
If I have to ask, what are you up to this weekend?
Then we've had just a fine first date, not a great one.
Because that's like my like arrow in the quiver of like, let's have something else to talk about.
Like I think the quicker you're at, what are you doing this weekend?
The worst the date is.
Because like that means you're not talking about nothing, which is a good thing.
first day. Well, wait a minute. If you say, what are you doing this weekend? You want to see them again.
Right. I think it would have to come at the end. If it's in the middle, I think if it happens
quickly, like, if I'm asking that, I'm like, we've run out of things to talk. See, to me, if I ask you
what kind of sneakers you have on, we're done. Like, I get what you say. I'm saying, like, if you
get to that, like, you know, like, there's a question that if you feel you have to ask it, you're on an
okay date, not a great date. Right. You know, like, oh. So how do you get the second day?
I think if you're asking somebody what they're doing
just because you want to make sure you're involved
in what they're doing.
Right.
Like it would be a good thing.
That's not where I'm more just like,
oh, we got to like fill the air here, you know?
We're never at a loss for words, really.
You and I, that's why we got a second day.
That's why I don't get a second date.
That's why I don't have a second date.
We just got a second day.
We got him for a second episode.
Yeah.
This is not that feeling.
it's somewhat fulfilling but it's not so wait is there no girl in your life right now there's nobody i
i'm kind of well i'm going i told you i'm going to new zealand tomorrow are you going by yourself
i'm going by myself i uh well but you know what how quickly they forget susan i swear in the last
episode part one he invited me to come with him thanks a lot that's right you know what you got a memory
issue here what's the problem you better have you better have delta points to get that life latsy
that i'm so you're going to perform are you i'm doing six show or seven
shows uh all around the country new zealand and australia so nice yeah it's it's exciting yeah it's weird
i don't know i'm like i said it before like i'm like i'm like mixed emotions like i remember
being at my dad's 40th birthday like that's weird to me and like you know it's hard i think that's the
hardest part the divide between like maybe your generation and mine is like it's just different now
like it's and and like you it's hard to not judge yourself against your own childhood you know
I think a lot of people in the dating world deal with that
like they do the when my mom was my age
when my dad was my age and you can't
he's he's not a millennium what are you
millennial you're not a millennial you are he's right at the
yeah but let me just tell you
I'm an elder millennial my daughter
it's exactly the opposite
my daughter was like mom I'm never doing
what you're doing I'm never getting married when I'm young
I'm not going to marry some guy from upstate New York
can I tell you?
You ever heard of Auburn, New York?
I've never heard of it.
Exactly.
That's where her husband's from.
It's between Syracuse and Rochester, New York.
So she ended up doing the same exact thing as you.
Damn right, she did.
That's hilarious.
Yeah, that's a, doth protest too much, you know?
That's right.
She got married a little older than I did, but yeah.
Okay.
But even her saying she won't do it is her comparing.
You know, like that is a version of comparison.
I loved it when my daughter was like, it started about 37 and she's raising kids and the
apologies they came in.
Mom, I am so, so.
I don't know how you dealt with us
because she's dealing with teenagers now.
I go, mm-hmm, you'll survive.
It's not pretty.
You have teenage grandkids?
Yes.
Unbelievable.
Kathy, you too?
No, I have a six-year-old and a two-year-old,
two-year-old, two-granddaughters.
I have 14, 13, 12.
Oh, can I just tell you?
I hated my in-laws.
I hated them.
They would come over and give my kids candy and cookies.
They didn't like her either.
The steam, they didn't like me either.
Steam coming up here.
Can I tell you, I go from my daughter's house.
My granddaughter's name, I go over and say, Reese, what would you like?
Can't, my daughter goes nuts.
I'm sorry.
I love being a grandmother.
I spoil her right.
I'm starting to hear that from my parents.
They're like saying, and they never pushed us to like get married.
They never thought, like it was never like a topic.
And now they're starting to be like, we need grandkids.
I'm like, when did this happen?
You know, I think there's like that.
Do they have any grandkids at all?
No, my brother got married almost a year ago.
and he's four years younger.
So he's like a Jewish woman.
Jewish girl from St. Louis.
How'd they mean?
It's actually a crazy story.
I went on a podcast called the Latka Room,
which is a Jewish sports podcast.
It was during the pandemic.
Great name.
It was two,
it was like three Jewish guys who played pro-ish hockey.
Great guys.
This guy, Johnny Lazarus, he's now like,
I think the podcast turned,
into a good opportunity for them like he's now on you know all this hockey shows yeah and
I went on and midway through I'm like I'm not a athlete like I don't know maybe you should
I don't know shit about this yeah I was like and so then my brother works in sports so I called
him and I go you got to listen to this podcast these idiots from Long Island have this like
dumb Jewish podcast and and he I go I think you should maybe go on he's like I'm not going on
but I was like can you listen to see how I sounded and he goes and listens and then
the next episode is his wife now wife she goes on and she's a sports uh sportscaster from
providence who was moving to miami to take on a big job at the local mbc station so she tells
her whole story she went to michigan uh she works in providence and she's you know does sports
and my brother listens to the whole episode and then she goes moves to miami and they match on hinge
like within like a few days out and then
then they match and then he already knows everything about her and they go you know
did he know did he know that it was the same girl yeah he knew every he knew her all life story
because she just told it on this podcast but no i'm saying he knew she was did she know who
not any no idea so like he basically and i don't know how he never really i don't know how
quickly he told her this but he kind of already knew about her that is so cool they had like a
COVID day like on a bench and then
within a year they're moving in together
and I'm moving out with my ex
like we went in two different directions so
oh you wait a minute
hold on you lived
with a woman I live with a woman
for a year. Did you put your socks
in the hamper or is that why your ass is up for?
That's why she she dumped me because of the socks
I don't know how you knew that.
Do you have a type, Jared?
Yeah I have
you know I definitely have
a type I like curvy
you know dark hair
women that's like my
that's the look I generally
but I'll fuck anyone you know like I just
want to make sure that people know this
like I'll have sex with pretty much
any type of woman but I yeah
but what do you do when the next morning they say
like they're on the bachelor I think I've met my future
husband what do you say
would you accept this room generally
I say
are you kidding me this guy's got a vase of roses in the other room
he just brings it out and hands him out
He's got a gift bag.
I'm like, here's your, you know, I'm like Derek Jeter.
You give out the gift bag.
No, I see, that's the thing.
I'm not like, like, I'm not a fuck guy.
Like, I've been talking to this on stage a lot because like, I'm not like a guy who like
goes out and is like I got to get with a woman tonight.
Like I'm more like a I got to get with pizza tonight like guy.
Like I, I, so like, which is like that's like.
So I, I generally am lazy when it comes to dating, you know, and pursuing, which is like
something I don't like about myself.
because I wish I was more like I wish I was like you don't have
pursuing I know but I I I just you know so you know women don't DM me to like
get with me like they I get DM by the mom to like go on a date with their daughter like
this happened I'll tell you this this is crazy the other night I'm at the comedy
seller I'm performing and I'm doing my new material which is like whatever but it's
about how I went to Europe alone so I'm talking about going to Europe alone and how I
hated it like I didn't fuck one woman in Europe like it's a whole thing
and he noticed he doesn't talk about the wine
he doesn't talk about the views
you get the wine on the train
it is fabulous and everything
I'm with you Susan I love everything about going to Europe
don't get me wrong except you know the women don't want to fuck me
so I I'm talking about this and it's like my sad single story
because sometimes when you're working material you go down a direction
you're like ah this is how I want to sound but this is how I'm sounding
so then I get off stage and the host is on stage and he's talking to me from
on stage, suddenly a woman
of the right, she goes, Jared, Jared,
you got to meet my daughter. You got to meet my
daughter. I go, where is
she? She goes, she's right here. And I go,
in the middle of the room, like, and the host is
like, Jared, what's going on over there? I go,
I think she's trying to fix me up
with her daughter. And she goes, and he goes, what does she
look like? I go, I don't know. Like, I'm like
embarrassed. All of a sudden, another
girl comes up to me and is on my right.
And I look, and this new woman goes,
you got to meet my friend. And I go,
is this happening twice? I go,
And I go, where's your friend?
She goes upstairs.
I go, this is too awkward for me.
Like, I feel uncomfortable.
I got one upstairs.
And it's like water, water, everywhere, not a drop to drink.
Because, like, this isn't like how I'm going to meet someone.
Like this is, and like I feel.
But it could be.
This is why no one wants to hear from single men.
No one wants to hear from single men because like all of these women, they don't want
to fuck me.
They just want to go, let's go on a date and have a good time and feel safe.
And then we'll see.
Wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
You've got to pay for it.
And it's got to be a.
good restaurant and if there's an attraction all those things so now i'm getting asked to pay for them
like you know like this is like so it's like i can't afford it i i don't have the time i don't have
the energy and i feel bad because like they're not wrong like it's i should be i'm i'm actually
like i'm i'm like i am truly like i feel very um flattered like but they're get this two
pack right you know what a two pack is we're going to work it when you're working up when you
It's so hard.
I got two muscles in there.
They're both working hard.
Susan, you're a great audience member.
I would have you at any show.
Kathy would be at the show the whole time.
What is he saying?
What's going on?
I don't understand.
What are he saying?
What are you talking about?
I hear every word you're saying.
What the hell is wrong with you?
What's the matter for you?
What's the matter for you?
I have a question, Jared.
This is a really important one.
You're the best.
Do you say Jared or Jared?
I've got I don't I've never thought about it
depends on where you're from right if you're from
Jared Jared I would say Jared and you would say carry
because you carry and I'd say rum instead of room
I said not enough the rum
did you go to south or north Kathy
were you near south or north
excuse me I grew up in West Newton
right near Braeburn Country Club and I'm so old
it wasn't north or south I went to Newton
high school, which is now Newton North.
Really? Okay.
My dad went to South.
My uncles and aunts,
they were all, they lived on, you know,
Cynthia Road. Oh my God, that's right down
the road from where I grew up. Yeah.
That's right. I bet I know, would I know
them? Well, my last name's freed.
Well, that doesn't, excuse me,
it doesn't take a, excuse me,
it does not take an MBA to know
that just because your last name
is free, does not necessarily, fair,
thank you. I'm a common last thing.
But they were the freeds and, like, my dad has three siblings.
So it's like they went up and down the age range.
But, um, yeah.
Probably not my age range.
That's very cool.
No.
And your dad went to Newton High?
Newton South, I think.
Cynthia Road was just on the border.
You're right.
Right.
And we used to.
Because I lived right by the Wobbin sign.
Wobin was Newton South.
I know exactly.
Because we used to drive by that other golf course where we'd go sledding all the time.
At Braeburn?
Yeah.
If that was Brayburn.
And we drive right by, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Usually what you sled on is a big hill.
You were not allowed to be on that hill.
You know that.
You tell that to the 3,000 people.
Derek, believe it or not, we're going to ask you to help dish out some advice from these people, our fans that write in.
Okay, you ready?
I love having impact on people's lives that are not my own.
Okay, so here we go.
This one is from Linda.
So, I think my boyfriend's sister hates my guts.
What do I do?
I met his family for the first time last week, and it was so awkward.
Every time I would try to talk during dinner with him, his sister, his parents, his
sister would bring something up that only they could talk about, like inside jokes from
the past family vacations, and would just say, oh, sorry, you had to be there.
She was constantly making snide comments.
It's like, I wish I had a silly little job like yours.
Being a nurse is so exhausting.
I have no idea what I could have done.
My boyfriend apologized for his sister's behavior after we left,
but said she's just always been a little bit of a brat.
I think it's a lot more than that.
L.O.L. she writes, what does this mean?
Why does she act like this around me?
Is she jealous?
His parents allegedly.
like me, but they fed
into everything his sister was doing
at dinner. So I'm a little put off.
What do I do now? And thank
you.
This is a tough situation
for this woman.
See, she has to have your
vocab, your quickness,
and come back for something that's buster.
I just think like
this sister stinks. She's a tough hang.
I actually take the guy
for his word. Like I think
she's used to being
this happens with men
like my
I'm my brother and I
okay like we have no sisters
so my mom is the sister
my mom is the one woman in the house
so like that
it is but yeah but then
for any woman that tries to come in
she's a big fucking pain in the ass
and she
and I talk about this on stage a lot
like it's like and and also
if I don't date so weird
this is weird I'm admitting this is weird
if I don't date someone that my
if I date someone that my mom
is like is different from my mom my mom takes that as an offense to her like because I'm choosing it's as if I'm
choosing not against her so this is how out of their minds women are so like this is so like this sister
like she has to not take it personally and also understand that her brother or that her boyfriend has
no clue how to handle the situation all men have how about her saying about her
silly little job like yours
being a nurse is so exhausting.
She's a bitch. She's a bitch.
I don't think this is anything new for
this family. Like when he says that, like
I think this is like, like, I
actually think like to take this
personally, like is the mistake.
Yeah. She has to like, make it. Right.
You have to trust your boyfriend and I
would get more
you know, curious
with your boyfriend. Like I would
get more curious as to the sister's story.
The more you hear about the sister's story, the more
you're going to understand why she sucks so much she's going to be oh she can never keep a job she
can never get a boyfriend she can never she always had issues in school she never had like a big
group of friends you're going to and then the more you hear about the more you're going to feel
badly but she's so you should just be nice to her and move on right be nice to you got a good
boyfriend who cares it's her problem right let her you got to eat while she's doing this just
keep eating be a great listener be a great listener that great listeners are great talkers so
the key to good comedy is listening
and it's like I think if she
just listens to her boyfriend
and like the story of the sister
if the next time they go over
she's just a listener she's not trying to be a
don't spar with her
she's not worth sparring because even the parents
even the parents she says
his parents allegedly like me but they fit into everything
his sister was doing at dinner yeah yeah the parents
are like I don't want to deal with this either
she stinks we
if the parents could tell you they would be like
we fucking hate her but we have to deal with her
We're just, we pay the bills so she'll shut the fuck up.
And Linda's saying, why does she act like this around me?
It's not about you, Linda.
It isn't.
Don't take it personally.
She's just wants to be the center of attention.
Absolutely.
It might not be jealous.
What does she have to be jealous over?
That's her brother, you know?
Right.
Well, here's the even crazier part.
This is the one place she had ownership of where people couldn't leave her.
It's her family.
They have to deal with her.
So like, you've now entered into.
But do they?
Right.
They do this dinner with her.
Why is she so free to meet her, you know, be at this family dinner?
She should be out with her own friends.
Well, Linda is put off by this.
Linda, get over.
Let her roll and laugh at her jokes and get through it and leave.
You don't have to do it constantly.
My best advice to Linda is to laugh at it with your boyfriend and not get personally offended by it.
Laugh at it.
I like that with him.
Include him on the joke about her.
But the only way you get there is to be curious about her.
Ask about her life.
Care for her.
Empathize with her position.
Kill her with kindness.
That's my motto.
That's just so kind of you.
Bless your little heart.
Bless your little.
No, that means fuck you, Susan.
You don't say that.
I'm Jamil Hill,

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries joins me
for a candid conversation about the state of the Democratic Party.
What do Republicans say to you privately that they won't say publicly?
Many of them are in fear of their political lives, and that's been part of the challenge.
But we continue to say to them, you were elected to defend your constituents, to stand up for your constituents.
And there's life after Congress.
And you should be willing to actually want to be able to look back on your time in the House of Representatives knowing that you can keep your head held high because you did the right thing.
Donald Trump is gone in three and a half years.
But their legacy or their failure to stand up.
up to the extremism and the unprecedented assault on America as we know it will be with them

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose
between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp
designed to be hell on earth?
Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
that mimic military basic training.
These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline,
physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him.
him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming. And you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock
incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
My name is Ed. Everyone say, hello, Ed.
Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks?
into a comedy club.
A new podcast called Wisecrack,
where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the I-Heart Radio app,

A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it.
They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire
that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases.
But everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA.
Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA.
Using new scientific tools,
they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.
He never thought he was going to get caught.
And I just looked at my computer screen.
I was just like, ah, got you.
On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors.
And you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable.

Good luck, Linda.
Yeah, really, good luck.
Okay. Oh my God. I really need you guys to help me. I have been paranoid for the past two months that my boyfriend of three years and my best friend of five years are sleeping together. When I first sat down to write into you guys, I was going to ask for advice on what to do next. Looking back, I really wish I would have done that. I decided to take matters into my own hands and confront them both. Well, turns out I was definitely
wrong I had my best friend that's the catch you just she wishes she was right now I had my best friend
come over and confronted them both that I knew what was going on not only did they each let me
look through their phones without flinching but it also didn't take long for me to realize that
I was completely in the wrong so how do I do damage control my boyfriend asked for some space
and we haven't talked outside of good morning and good night we live together my best friend
hasn't talked to me since the incident i totally went in accusing them and i really don't want
to lose either of them let alone both any advice would be great please help me and thank you
what what say you jared this is like the worst case scenario like because not only like
I don't want to scare her anymore
but now the boyfriend is like
maybe I could have fucked Rachel
you know like there's a little bit
and I'm not listen
I'm gonna give I'm gonna like
I'm gonna give her some like
I think like the one thing I will
let me just like let her not feel
crazy something is wrong in her relationship
like I think that's the one thing
she has to like be okay
acknowledging and like
she can't lose faith in her own feelings
like you she's not a crazy person there's a reason she felt like that right and I think it starts
with her like seeking out professional help and like going getting to the root of like
Jared just jumps right to it she needs professional help and meds she does I mean you you did
your big detective moment we're sorry we are sorry okay I'm just saying like I think she has to
start with like where does the jealousy come from is it a personal issue or is the relationship
off and she's trying to make this off relationship work whenever you're in a relationship that
like someone isn't trying and you're trying you're like am I crazy so it seems like she's in this
relationship where like I'm not trying to blame him now that she's done him she did her friend
and him wrong but like where'd that come from like I think she has to get to the root of like
why she feels it's usually you know as they always say problems in a marriage problems in a
relationship are often not what you're seeing it's usually a symbol
a sign of something deeper
that's going on, you know. Right. And she
probably saw her best friend and him
enjoying each other's company in the way
she's not enjoying her company with him.
And she's like, why are they
you know, like I'm watching
the relationship I would want.
Jared, I really think you should have
gone to medical school and been a psychiatrist.
Well, 10 years of doing.
Your mother would be proud and have a title.
10 years of how are you feeling today? Talk to me
about it. That's right. How does that make you feel? You can get
these pearls every week.
twice a week on the uf podcast i know but i will say it is her seeing them be this like fun
time she's like well why don't we have fun and i think yeah yeah right and it's like so you have to
figure out and again that might mean a breakup that might mean that this isn't the relationship but like
i do think it is crazy to like get that far be like ah ha and then be like but wait what wait
who hold it hold it i got to be that other person people are really good at deleting messages
and da da da da da da that it could have happened and those two were going they were right no no no because
she believes them when they were there they were susan i actually think that's like there there is a
percentage chance that these two are Bonnie and Clyde and they are the greatest like to me
i don't have the energy like right they i don't have the energy to like go this like why go this far
just break up and be together and like stop fucking with this woman um but i because i always like
when i when i hear these questions i always lean on the side like i believe in the bell curve of
life like most of us are 10% away from each other so like in my mind i'd be like this is my chance
to break up with her like i like i don't want to be in this relationship he may he's only saying
good morning and good night i think this is what he's going to end up doing and yeah i i think
Or she just goes to him and says, okay, I fucked up.
You're going to hate me forever.
I'm sorry.
If she loses him, you know what, Anonymous?
Being serious now, you learned the lesson of your life, I hope.
Well, I will say this.
I actually, I care for this emailer because they're never going to, like, trust themselves again.
But I do want to encourage them that, like, something was off.
So, like, if he ends this, and if you end this, like, if he doesn't end this, like, if he doesn't
end this and you guys try to work this out
okay you have to get to
the root of where the jealousy comes from
but like if he's like I'm out
you know you accuse me of this
and I'm out well something else was something
he was looking to be dumped
and guys love being dumped
okay every man
wants to be dumped okay
because they want to be the dump
war and not the dumpy
or they want to be the dumpy
dump me dump me
I don't want to be the evil one I don't want to be the one the waste of your time
I don't want to be the guy that, like, that you go to your brunch table and you're like, and he said he doesn't like my grandmother.
Like, I don't want to be that person.
I want to disappear like the picture and back to the future.
Right.
It takes me forever soon.
It takes me forever.
Kathy's like just tell him the bit bit.
I go, I can't do that.
Right.
Because I hope you can.
Well, actually, you can.
I've seen you do it very recently.
Very recently.
What time is it?
It's not.
All right. Before we go.
How was St. Martin? I want to hear about St. Martin.
Was it amazing? I want to go.
We've booked the place for a whole month next year.
Come next year with us. Come with us.
For a month?
A month.
I'll come back in two weeks, do some things and go right back.
Is it like a timeshare type of thing?
No. No. It's paid for the ass.
Yeah.
It's fabulous of the water, the people.
Being serious, no, all humor aside, the people there are the most kind,
generous, loving, warm.
You just feel like family the minute you get there.
It's crazy.
I love that. Good for you guys.
And we make friends.
So we're welcome back.
Okay.
We'll get you a date, Jared.
I'm coming.
Or we'll get you in bed with a girl.
Whatever.
You take your parents.
We don't know if they're French.
Tell them I like to eat.
We stay on the French side.
Not for that side.
All right.
Before we go, though, we're going to play a quick game with you, okay?
Oh, boy.
Wait, we didn't ask.
Do you have any questions for?
us or advice for us do i have any questions yeah or advice okay how anything you want to know about
us no not particular no you're that date that says we're ending it here i'm going australia uh
what would you say i should do to like pick up a woman while i'm in australia what should what
would you guys want how would i how would you do it how would you want to be picked up wait a minute
Did you not hear the question?
Do you have any questions or advice for us?
Why is it always about you, Jared?
Oh, sorry.
You know, but stay drunk, get off the same.
I will say one thing.
I will answer your question.
You have a beautiful smile.
Ask you for advice.
Jared, you have a beautiful smile.
Smile for women and say, can I buy you a cup of coffee?
Look at that face.
Look at that.
I do not love that face.
Thank you.
All right.
Now, what's our?
advice do you want to have some coffee you want to go see the kangaroos
where's the quala sounds like she's going to like kill a kangaroo you want to see a kangaroo
watch what i do to the kangaroo who owes me money that pouch looks a little thick kangaroo i like
the animals to stay over there yeah okay he's got no advice for you guys keep doing what you're
doing i don't what you guys don't need my advice you're kidding in love in in in relationships
What the hell? He doesn't know shit about love.
Why are we asking him that, then? Really?
Next.
Yeah. You've asked the question.
All right. We're going to play. Here we go.
We're going to play a golden classic. Never have I ever.
Oh, I love it.
I'm going to the bathroom. Okay. So here we go.
You're going to fess up, Jared. We're putting you on the spot.
All right.
Okay. Go. Give us one, Jared. Oh, you want me to do one?
Yeah.
Never have I ever.
Never have I ever eaten something out of the trash.
Ew.
Neither have I.
Ew, it's right.
Never.
Okay.
I drank.
I did.
It was on top of the trash.
You did?
You were pretty damn thirsty or drunk.
Were you in the desert?
A little drunk.
No, desert.
He's drunk.
I don't know.
You put me on the spot.
Yeah, really?
I hate this game.
Never have I ever, uh, never ever, uh, never ever sucked on someone's foot.
I have.
Okay.
You have?
You have?
Well, their toes, not their foot.
It's like a foot fetish thing or is it just in the moment?
It was definitely a foot fetish thing.
It was in the moment.
It was in the moment.
I was in the moment.
Really?
What happened?
He got clean nails.
what happened
well in the moment
okay kathy let me ask you a serious question
you're in each other's arms
you kathy no you don't understand
she is straighter and straight
she obeys the law
she follows the rules you're gonna suck
she's sucking on toes
your disms are going to blow up
how the episodes have you done
I finally got to the good stuff with kathy
let me just say
i just know that like i'm not a
I'm not a foot guy like you know
you hear these foot guys like love the feet
I have
What kind of guy are you?
Are you an ass guy, a boob guy?
Who are you?
I bet you're a ass guy.
I am an ass guy.
I like a big ass.
No, I like curvy women.
Like I, like I like, yeah, I ass and titty.
I'll take them both.
Tits are for kids.
I've never sucked on the toes, but I just don't understand how it happens just.
No, I've actually, I've never sucked on toes.
I've had my toes sucked.
You've had your, so that guy had a foot foot.
He had one.
I don't know.
I didn't say, could we stop here?
He's kissing down your body and then all of a sudden you're like, how low are you going to go?
And you're like, you're going to kiss my shin?
He's like, I'll keep going.
And then all of a sudden he's looking to talk about it.
Jared, you had to be there in the moment.
You know, you had to be there.
I think I don't think, I want to be there.
I just want to address one thing here with Susan.
She talks about me following the rules.
I don't know, Jared.
You tell me, we are on Little Whining Roads in St. Martin.
and she's chit-chat with somebody on WhatsApp
in her hand while she's driving
hitting the corner
it's like we're playing bumper pool
and I'm like Susan stop
what it's all right I know where I'm going
I'm like I see my life in front of my eyes
so I love that Kathy's so mad that you said
that she's a rule follower and she's like no I'll tell you
I was fearing I am more
I will say I'm more of a rule follower than Susan
I will say that but you know what
you know what
what why are we talking about rules we're talking about toes i can't imagine i can't imagine sucking on
kathy's toes you got to do all the toes i had a pet of yesterday it's usually just the big toe i think
are you going to wipe them off you're going to use a paper towel just kath what if you were out
barefoot on the beach that thing what don't ruin my pick here it did well i got one yesterday
we're all good now i'll let somebody massage them you can get the oils and massage
There's so many things running through my head right now that I can that it's so not PG that I cannot.
This is why it's, this is why I didn't have kids because they're not going to listen to my podcast to think of something that's not PG.
It's like she's killing, but she's dying over there.
I'm so happy I went from eating out of the trash to a fucking toes.
You know what?
I'd never have my.
Kathy likes the rules so much that she answered honestly to have.
toes been in your...
Like, you could just lie.
I did lie.
I said I had.
I had...
Never have I ever sucked toes.
Oh, that's...
That was creative.
Can you do any better?
Okay, never have I ever
hooked up
with a guy in a foreign country?
I have him.
I have.
She has.
Good for you, Susan.
What country?
Italy.
Italy, Italy.
In Florence, actually.
I studied abroad in Florence.
I could live there.
Where'd you go to school, Jared?
Penn State.
Penn State.
You spoiled little child.
That's right.
Not Penn.
No, she doesn't know.
I was the education of the child.
I went to the dumb one.
You went to the dumb one.
The University of Pennsylvania is the Ivy League.

faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock
