This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Have you ever listened to those true crime shows
and found yourself with more questions than answers?
Who catfishes a city?
Is it even safe to snort human remains?
Is that the plot of Footloose?
I'm comedian Rory Scoville,
and I'm here to tell you,
Josh Dean and I have a new podcast
that celebrates the amazing creativity
of the world's dumbest criminals.
It's called Crimeless, a true crime comedy podcast.
Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, and you've got Joe and Serena, but this time we are not in New York.
We just flew into L.A. for Jingle Ball this weekend.
That's right. We're having a holiday-packed weekend with Bachelor Nation.
We're going to be talking to Zach and Katie, Joan, and Susan and Kathy today.
So lots of catching up to do. We went to Disneyland yesterday, and tonight is Jingle Ball.
So so far, it's been an eventful and exciting trip to Los Angeles.
What was your favorite ride at Disneyland?
I liked the Nightmare Before Christmas ride.
And I liked the fact that, like, it's usually haunted mansion and they kind of, like, do it up for the holidays.
All the decor felt really cool.
And then they had that gingerbread house that smelled like gingerbread.
And I just thought it was very creative in there.
What did you think about the Star Wars ride?
The Star Wars ride was incredible.
But I also think, like, I couldn't get over the fact of how expensive.
Yeah, I heard it's the most expensive ride.
ever created, 400 million.
In all of Disney, like more than any of the rides at Disney World.
But I will say it was incredibly impressive.
Like there's no tracks, you're sliding around.
It really feels like a mix of a ride and an experience.
I'm someone that gets really nauseous on rides.
And I, this is not a pitch for Disneyland, by the way.
But I didn't get nauseous at all.
And it's a much better ride than the Star Wars ride, I will say.
Our flight had like zero turbulence.
Yeah, it was very smooth.
I watched the movie on the plane and I didn't finish it.
Yeah, I went back and watched Wicked One,
but I slept for most of the flight so I didn't get through all of Wicked one.
How many times are you going to watch Wicked?
It's like the perfect plane movie because it's three hours.
It's engaging.
Plus, we just saw the second one.
So it was fun to go back and watch the first one.
That was a letdown.
The first one's where it's at.
The first one's where it's at.
So, yeah, but I didn't finish it.
But we got a long flight home to New York after Jingle Ball.
tonight. So I'll finish it then. I heard Kathy and Susan are here. Should we call them in?
Yeah, I think so. I think Kathy has something to bring in for us too. Kathy, Susan.
Kathy and Susan are here. Kathy, what do you got for us? Brought you some fabulous holiday drinks
from Starbucks. Thank you so much. Cheers. Cheers, guys. Good to see you. So we were just at Disneyland
yesterday. Joe was asking what my favorite ride was. What was your guys's favorite ride?
The Caribbean, Pirates of the Caribbean.
That was your favorite, right?
That was your favorite one?
I like that one, too.
You said the huge puddle, though.
No, that wasn't for the...
Pirates of the Caribbean, yes.
The roller coaster, what was that one?
The roller coaster...
We were back and forth.
The Space Mountain, or whatever it was called.
Mine, though, was...
The Star Wars one?
Yes, that was your...
What was the one you're talking about?
And the...
The roller coaster.
The Tower of Terror that's been renamed.
What was the roller coaster you guys went on?
The big one.
You were with them.
The Star Wars.
The Star Wars. Was it Star Wars?
That was a Rolick.
Yeah.
It was fabulous.
It was rickety, crickety.
We were all over the place.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And these guys weren't holding on.
We were trying to keep our hands up.
I had to hold on.
I thought it was going to fly out of the seat.
No.
I like it going upside down.
I'm a thrill seeker.
Yeah.
I loved it.
Did anybody try the dole whip besides me?
No?
Oh, yeah.
We.
Pineapple doll whip.
Joe and I left a little early and we went on a side quest so I could get a chero and Joe could get the pineapple
doll whip.
And honestly, it was so good.
You mentioned that.
I forgot.
I should have tried it.
It's like dull pineapple juice, dull frozen pineapple,
and then vanilla ice cream, like, all blended together.
Was there vodka in it?
No, but you know what?
It would be good as like a boozy.
That would work, Kathy.
A boozy ice cream.
Jesus, Kathy's are trying to put vodka in something all morning.
They brought us coffee at the glam suite at 9 a.m.
And she's like, where's the vodka?
That's what the son will do to you in L.A.
It's two hours later in Texas right now.
It is.
That's true.
Like a buddy Mary in the morning.
It's all good.
It's brunch.
That's true.
I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning, wide awake, ready to go.
Yeah, all of a sudden, I hear, are you awake, full volume?
You were, though.
I was, you know, when you're like on the verge of waking up?
Yeah, I was basically awake.
All right, so let's talk holidays.
Okay.
Who wants to go first?
I will.
Susan, you go first because is this your first Christmas with your boyfriend?
Yes, but I won't be with him.
So he'll be in St. Martin and I'll be home because we have traditions.
Okay, what are your traditions?
Yeah.
I have to make the exact same food every year.
although I'm going to slip it up a little,
and I'm not telling anybody still have a fit.
Instead of the Italian part is usually raviolis.
I found a place I don't even have to cook with the best stuffed shells I've ever had.
Okay.
So I'm ordering trays of stuff shells,
but I'll make the gravy, meatball, sausage, ham, all the...
What do you stuff your ravioli with, regat?
Rigot.
Okay.
I love, he says reggaat.
I know.
I actually, I don't like regat.
The only time I'll eat regat is if it's on like a sourdough or Italian bread toast it with regat and honey.
Well, that is good.
I like it with honey, but I don't like it in a ravioli.
In a ravioli?
Would it kind of have you like a spinach ravioli?
I'm not really big on raviolis, yeah.
Kathy, what are you doing?
Well, I'm not eating ragat or ravioli.
I can tell you that.
We do the same thing for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We do turkey.
in mashed potatoes, but this year, for the first time in many years, my daughter is doing
Christmas dinner at her house. Oh, really? And I do the baking. That's my thing. I bake
homemade eggnog bread, pecan pie. I do it all from scratch. Lemon bars? No, I do not do
lemon bars, but I happen to know that that's a bachelor favorite. That is, that is. That's a new
bachelor favorite. That's Mel's favorite. So yeah, I'm excited to have my grandkids and we're all going to be
together it's going to be. Are you happy that you're not hosting and it's your daughter now?
In a word? Yes. Yes. And where is that? Where is she? In Austin. In Texas. Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. I've been to Austin once. Oh, actually, I've been there twice, but this is last time I enjoy it. I enjoy it. I enjoy it. How's the
weather right now? Today it's rainy and cold, but when I go home tomorrow, it's going to be 75 and sunny.
Oh, it's great. Where are you two going to be? We are going to be in Toronto. We're heading there on the 19th. Joe and I
alternate every other year.
So we'll do family Christmas with him one year.
Family Christmas with me one year.
So yeah, it's a Toronto year.
So we'll be there for about 10 days.
Oh,
probably longer than 10 days.
We're going to be there.
The 19th to the 30th.
Okay.
If we're counting, that's actually 11 days.
Yes, there will probably be snow.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Are you kidding?
They get a ton of snow.
Yeah.
Well, it's a little hit or miss for Christmas.
Yeah.
Like, well, it sometimes won't last on the ground.
Yeah.
But, yeah, it'll be cold.
That's for sure.
I was in New York for Thanksgiving, and we, the day after Thanksgiving, we had a big snowstorm.
We were not cut down a Christmas tree.
I mean, it's right out of a Norman Rockwell painting.
We were in Chicago for Thanksgiving and we got snowed in.
We changed our flight from Saturday to Sunday because we were like, there's no way we're getting out or we're going to be like all the flights for like four hours to late or canceled because of the snowstorm.
Last year we went after Christmas, we went like three days after Christmas.
We went to Costa Rica for 12 days.
And that was.
It was so nice.
I'm actually like, the purpose.
trust that we're not going.
I know.
My parents did look at that house again to see if it was available, just had a curiosity.
Listen, Joe, beach, suntan lotion, tropical drinks, or shoveling snow in Toronto.
I don't know.
What could be better?
I leave on the 28th.
I don't mind it up until Christmas.
I actually prefer, I prefer the cold weather and like the holiday season.
Pre-Christmas.
As soon as Christmas Day hits, I actually want to leave Christmas Day.
By 5 p.m. get me on a flight and I'm gone.
Yeah.
I'm with you.
Okay, let's do this because I haven't even thought of mine yet.
New Year's resolutions.
Who wants to go first?
I will.
All right.
I love that.
I never make a New Year's resolution.
My deal is every day is a new day.
If you want to change your life, there's no better day than today to start.
I agree.
I agree.
Okay, okay, great.
Yeah, I agree too.
But for the fun of the podcast, but let's at least throw something out there.
I put some thoughts in my head, but I never say it out loud in case I can't follow through.
Okay.
It's like everybody else.
Give us one of them, though.
Give us one of them.
Eat healthier, start exercising more.
It's not happening, Susan. It just doesn't work.
I'm going to throw mine out.
And I do this.
I do this.
I've, over the past couple years,
I've incorporated this more into my daily life.
So I would say I'm probably like a four to five day a week guy,
but I'm going to try to do seven days a week,
seven days a week.
And that's a minimum of a 15 minute stretch every day.
Oh, that's a good one.
That's a good one.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you.
Thank you.
When you start getting older like us, if you don't stretch, things break.
Well, now I do, now I do every morning I'll, I do a three-minute squat.
So as far as my ass could get to the ground.
That is not stretching.
That's not stretching.
But they say it's really good for mobility as you get older.
Like a deep, like yoga, squat.
I can teach you all kinds of balancing for mobility.
Yeah.
That's, that's what's.
They say mobility is the most important thing.
That is what's important to me.
That really is.
Yeah, me too.
I do give things up for length.
Okay, what are you going to give up this year?
Last year it was chips.
I mean, you know,
chips are, honestly, I want to, I want to give up chips.
I did it.
I succeeded.
The year before that, it was every time I said a bad word.
Yeah.
I would owe the church a dollar.
Okay, so how they built a new church.
The church like 70-some dollars.
They built a new church.
Can I tell you my New Year's Resolution that I'd like it to be, though?
What?
Because everyone knows I don't cook.
I bake.
Yeah.
I bake from scratch.
I'm really a good baker, but I don't really cook.
I would like to have a resolution that I'm going to cook.
Why?
Because I think it's, I think it's a good trait to have.
Then do it.
Yeah.
I don't really want to.
Why do you pick like one category?
Like I want to get good at like making like one, like soups.
How about boiling water?
Start there.
Don't talk about it.
It's a great girl dinner.
Wait, I have to clear my name.
I can make homemade tubes.
I can cook.
You just don't like to.
I just don't like to.
I just don't like to. I would rather, I love to exercise. I would rather go to the gym, run six miles, anything other than cook. You should see her kitchen. She's got everything you need.
I believe that. Really? Yeah. It's brand new.
Wait, because my husband was, which is another reason I didn't cook.
Was it good cook? I have to clear my name. When my kids were little, when I first got married, I got Bon Appetit Magazine, and I learned to cook really gourmet meals. And then I had children. And they would say.
spit it out. And I was like, we're going back to Taco Tuesday. Like, why did I even bother?
So then when the kids grew up, I got really used to not cooking. And my husband started to cook.
And he was a great cook. I mean, his lobster mac and cheese was legendary.
And so I have, she's right. I have everything. I mean, I don't even know what some of the things are,
like what tools they are. So, you know, it's. I'm rooting through the cabins and go,
oh, we could use this. Yeah. Susan, you're Catholic.
Well, I was raised Catholic.
Yeah.
Just Christian.
Christian, no.
I was going to say, no, if you say regat, you're Catholic.
I say regat and I'm not Catholic, you have no choice.
People go, do you mean ricadei?
Ricotta.
In Massachusetts, they say racada.
It doesn't even make sense of it.
How do you say Kalamari?
Galamade, yes.
Wait a minute.
You guys are just mispronouncing words.
This is not even like an accent like ricotta and you're like, oh, we just don't pronounce the A.
No, wait a minute.
Rokata is spelled, R-I-C-O-T-A.
Ricotta.
Yeah, I know.
Well, what do you mean?
They're Italian.
So you can't spell?
And our grandparents were broken English, and that's how we were taught.
Yeah.
You learn from when you're this.
It is how all your family says it.
If I say Kalamari at my house, my day.
Calamara would yell at you.
How do you say?
It's Galamara.
It's got a lot.
I say Kalamari, no, just because it's going to get through life, you know, pronouncing
things correctly um okay well what bachelor nation couple do you you want to see get together in
twenty twenty six you mean that aren't together that aren't together yeah they and i to go
you're in relationship susan besides myself yeah even if if it is you you have to choose someone
from bachelor nation the question is bachelor nation yeah you're a matchmaking right now is there any
singles out there in Bachelor Nation that you think should get together?
I have one that she just did.
That's a tough one for me.
I know.
It's hard off the top of your head.
Oh, Daisy.
Yeah, she's just got engaged.
But she's not with someone in Bachelor.
Oh, no, I can't answer that because I know a lot of the women.
Yeah.
Pick a woman that you want to see.
Mercedes.
I would love to see her fine.
Yeah, me too.
She's here, isn't she?
Yes.
Yeah.
She's here.
She's going to be a jingle.
ball with us tonight. She's got a hot date time. That's exciting jingle ball. Oh, okay. Well, maybe your
prayers will be answered. She will be with someone. Yeah. There you go. Um, this was so much fun.
And it was great hanging with you guys yesterday. And now it's time to cut you loose. And we'll see you
later. However, you'll see us tonight. All right. We're back with more bachelor nation people.
Joan, welcome. You know, hi. I'm hi. Joan, you honestly may be our most.
most frequent guests.
You say this to so many guests.
But I actually think it may be general.
Joey was on a lot.
He's definitely up there, but you are
definitely up there too as one of our most frequent guests.
I love coming to talk. I feel like we always
have so much to talk about. Maybe that's why you keep
asking me back, so I'm going to try to be interesting
every time I come, so you keep having me.
You are. You don't have to try. You are interesting.
Well, we're going into the holidays. As you know,
we know that you love sharing your recipes
on social media. People love
watching them. You have your
soup recipes, all the things. What are your favorite holiday recipes to make? Oh, God. So
holiday recipes are all about, like, the things my kids like. So, like, things that I've done
for years and years and years and years, and I have to make those. Even if they're, like,
not my favorite, they're my family's favorite. So I make them. So, and that's kind of evolved
over the years. Now I have grandkids, so things have changed a little bit. Yeah. But I always do
the same kind of thing. But one of their favorites is this, it's like a pineapple suflay. It's
almost like a, it's made with bread and stuff. It's really, really good. So I have to make that,
which seems like so weird at Christmas time. It's so weird. There's no meat in that. There's no
meat in it. No, it's a dessert. It's like, you kind of serve it like along like with everything else
on the plate. So I always do a big tenderloin play. And I always do salmon. And then I have to have
that. Oh, you don't do turkey? I don't do turkey. So we do it on Thanksgiving. And everybody's like
so, so about turkey and my family. So yeah, I don't do it again on Christmas. I used to when we were,
when I was kid, my mom always did. But my kids don't love it. So,
We do salmon and flea.
I feel like that.
If you were going to, if you were to be selfish, you know, let's, let's kind of go back
to the whole theme of the golden bachelorette.
You spent your whole life giving for your kids and everyone else.
What would you want?
What would I, um, to order something?
What would you order?
That's fair.
I probably order Chinese food.
I love that.
I would love it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we did that on New Year on Christmas Eve now.
So we used to also before I had grandkids when I just had all these like kind of adult or, you know,
young adult kids, we would go out to dinner after we'd go to church on Christmas Eve and then
we'd go out to dinner and we would go to like a really great steakhouse like a Morton's or
someplace really great and we'd all be dressed up. Well, now I have grandkids and there is no
taking them out. First of all, we need to get them in bed because we need to do the whole Santa thing.
Right. That's got to take a while. The whole life.
They do elf on the shelf. We do elf on the shelf. Oh my God. It's so elaborate. I'm so glad that
didn't exist when I was like when my kids are little. It's like a big responsibility to have
dope on the shelf.
And like, I can totally understand
like why parents do it for their kids.
I can see why kids fall for it.
I didn't know.
I would fall for it.
Yeah, I didn't, well, I didn't know the,
I was like, Elf on the Shelf, well, like, what the heck?
Yeah, what is it?
But I didn't know that the elf during the day was frozen.
Yes.
And you can't touch the elf.
And you can't touch it.
And otherwise he loses magic.
We were out with some of his friends who have young kids
and they were explaining Elf on the Shelf.
And it's elaborate and they have poems that go with it.
And why they're, you should see the stuff
that my, my daughter and son-in-law.
do it's so elaborate like they do footprints like all the way down the hallway and then up the
wall and it's crazy yeah it's crazy i will have a very tough time when we have a kid of not messing
with the elf to mess with the kid like yeah because you're going to want to touch the elf and freak out
the kid like oh unless it's magic i know i will do that don't do that please don't do that
please don't do that have you ever listened to those true
crime shows and found yourself with more
questions than answers? And what is
this? How was that not a story
we all know? What's this you?
Where is that? Why is it wet?
Boy, do we have
a show for you?
From Smartless Media, Campside Media, and
Big Money Players comes
crimeless. Join me, Josh
Dean, investigative journalists.
And me, Roy Scoval, comedian,
as we celebrate the amazing creativity
of the world's dumbest criminals.
We'll look into some of the silliest
ways folks have broken the laws.
Honestly, it feels more like a high-level prank than a crime.
Who catfishes a city?
And meets some memorable anti-heroes.
There are thousands of angry, horny monkeys.
Clap if you think, she's a witch.
And it freaks you out.
He has X-rayed vision.
How could I not follow him?
Honestly, I got to follow him.
He can see right through me.
Listen to Crimless on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your
podcast.
No, you won't because you love the magic of Christmas.
It's true.
Yeah, it's fun.
I mean, like, messing with your kids for a whole month is kind of fun and the elf lets you do that.
It really, like, has the whole build up, which is fun.
And parents I know are like, oh my gosh, like behave, the elf is watching.
Oh, yeah.
You have a lot of threats at Christmas time.
Yeah, yeah.
What are some of your other favorite holiday traditions that you guys do?
So now we come home and we do after church instead of going out to dinner, this beautiful dinner,
which I love doing, but it's just not practical anymore.
Yeah.
We come home and we do like hot chocolate and we put our pajamas on and we order pizza.
So it's perfect and I love doing that.
And I think it's like kind of a tradition amongst a lot of households because last
year I went to order pizza and they're like, yeah, you can't have pizza deliver tonight.
You have to order like a week in advance.
No way.
Yeah. So I'm going to, I have it like set an alarm on my phone to order pizza like a week before
Christmas.
Wow.
Well, yeah, I guess if you're the hosting house too, you're making, you're cooking all day.
Oh, I do brunch on Christmas morning, too.
Yeah, my aunt used to do that.
She used to host brunch and dinner.
I did the same thing.
I kind of turn over all the plates in the kitchen.
Everybody goes home after brunch,
and then I turn it over the whole house.
I get rid of all the trash.
I get all the dishes washed and I start cooking dinner.
Oh, my gosh.
That is a long day.
We always did brunch in my family, too.
I love that.
We just do like cinnamon rolls and coffee and like bacon and eggs, really.
That's the best.
But my auntie, Judy used to like,
literally do like potatoes and bacon and sausages and eggs and like full full full Christmas brunch.
Did you do it all?
Did you, you flew hair correct?
Yeah.
Where did you fly from?
From Maryland.
I live in Maryland.
I flew from D.C.
I know that I know that you live in Maryland.
Yeah, I'm East Coast like you guys.
I know that you live in Maryland, but I never, I never know if you're in New York.
I feel like you bounce around the lot.
I do.
I love that.
You know, it's like the kind of the cool thing that happened from all this, that I have all
these really great opportunities I never had before.
And I like say yes to everything.
So I could be anywhere.
at any time. Will you and Chalk spend the holidays together? Yes. Okay, so this is great. So I know on
the show we said we're going to find a place in New York and we had no idea. Number one,
how hard that is and number two, how busy we'd be. So I finally just said to him, I go, let's just
get a place the whole month of December and early January. So we got an Airbnb for starting on
December 7th through January 7th. So we're going to be in New York most of that time. So we're going to
be together and then he's going to come to my house for Christmas. I'm going to go home a few days
before Christmas and that all figured out.
And then we're going to go back to New York City
for like two weeks after Christmas.
What are the New Year's plans?
I don't have any right now.
I really want to go to Times Square.
I've never ever done that.
But I don't think I'm one of those people that can go out
at like 6 o'clock in the morning.
I kind of want to, is there like a special place I could go
and not be freezing cold from 6 o'clock in morning?
I feel like someone can mind you a special place to go watch the ball drop.
I have to investigate that opportunity if there is one.
But I really would like to do it.
that that would be very magical i feel like that's a fun way to yeah how about you guys are you
going to be in town no we're actually going i think to a friend's lake house for new year's yeah
you've probably done it in the city you've lived there for a number of years we usually don't do
we usually don't do much on new year's even i've never been a big new year's i'm not either done
yeah we've only been in new york for new years i think maybe one or two years and we usually
go to our friends family's apartment in the city and we do like a drink or two there and then we go
back and we watch the ball drop the two of us, or we're traveling somewhere.
But honestly, New Year's in the city is so hard because it's like, you're going to a bar,
you're going to a restaurant, it's like you need tickets and it's set menus and it's expensive.
And it's just like, my favorite New Year's is either like at home or at a friend's place
or on a beach.
I kind of want to do that too.
Honestly, I do want to go see the whole Times Square thing, but also I really don't want
to deal with all the crowds.
No, if you can get hooked up, that's the place to be.
I don't have it in me to like stand in the crowd for, like, for like.
like five hours waiting for the ball to drop, chilly.
That's just not my jam.
We just travel so much.
When you travel, are you a, when you get on a plane, are you a comfy dresser or do you dress
up?
So I'm kind of in between.
So I don't come in like pajamas like you see people and they like their gross sweats.
And they're in like flippers.
Like they didn't do their hair.
I get up.
I take a shower.
I do my hair, I have my makeup on.
And I'll look like this.
So you look very put together then.
jeans and like a pair of sneakers or whatever.
But I do want to be.
I mean like when I fly here, it's a six hour flight.
Yeah.
Like, you kind of need to be like somewhat comfortable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
On the way here I wore, I wore jagging pants in a hoodie.
Yeah, but you still look put together.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, you can look at your PJs.
I will show up looking.
I have shown up to the airport looking pretty rough.
But typically I'm in sweats.
I can't, I can't travel in jeans.
I've tried it and I just, I get very, yeah.
I have a very low tolerance for physical discomfort in terms of clothes and jewelry and stuff like
that, so I'm in leggings or I'm in sweats. I do leggings. I have to admit I do
leggings, but I do get up, but I feel like you need to look put together. Like you need to be
clean. Yeah, I'll just shower. I feel better. Oh, I always shower. I always shower before flight.
I want to start the day out. Always shower before a flight. This flight I actually watched
Christmas vacation, but I didn't finish it. Oh, yeah. I watched a series. Have you seen your
friends and neighbors? Okay, we started that, but we kind of fell off. Yes. Oh my God. I watched eight episodes.
Did you really?
I was like enveloping.
In fact, I got off a plane and I was like almost disoriented.
I had spent so much time with John Hamm and that whole debacle.
We just watched, what's the girl in that?
Oh my gosh.
Amanda Pete.
Amanda Pete.
We just watched a Nancy Myers movie with Amanda Pete, Jack Nicholson.
What's it called?
Oh, my gosh, something's got to give.
Oh, I love that movie.
It was really, I'd never seen it.
Oh, God, is that in that a good one.
Oh, it was so cute.
You know what you haven't watched is the pay.
Oh, I haven't heard of it.
Oh, my gosh.
It's so good.
The pit might be the best new show on TV.
We are telling everyone.
It's a series.
It's an HBO series.
It's 15 episodes.
It's supposedly the most realistic doctor show that's been made.
They have a doctor that's come in and directed these scenes.
Oh, I love this.
The pit is like the emergency room.
And it's 15 episodes.
Every episode is an hour of the day like.
Oh, so it's like 24.
It's like 24.
Exactly.
But the hospital version of 20.
I never watched 24.
I don't know anyone that's watched 24.
Oh, no.
Our producers in the other room
and she told us to watch 24.
Oh, 24 is so good.
Anyone that's watching.
Okay.
Last but not least, speaking of New Year's,
do you have any resolutions?
Oh, geez.
I have so many things that need to improve.
I usually think about it like the day before,
so I don't put a ton of thought into it.
But when I do do a New Year's resolution,
I'm really hard on myself about keeping it.
I'm pretty careful about what I do.
I think this year, you know, I hear so much.
Okay, first of all, I'm a huge sweet eater.
I love chocolate.
I love cookies.
I eat them every day.
Did you have a cookie yesterday at Disney?
Absolutely.
How good were they?
And by the way, I had one this morning too.
Oh, they were so good.
Yeah, they were so good.
But I hear all this data about sugar feeds cancers.
And I, you know, I'm not like a big, you know, investigate all that kind of stuff.
But I do hear that a lot.
And so I really feel like I need to slow down on my sugar.
intake. So I think that might be like maybe like my health goal is like to not cut out sugar
because that's not really realistic for me, but to like decrease it a lot.
I'm going to do it too. Let's do it together. Yeah. You don't eat that my sugar.
So are you a big sweet eater? I eat a lot of sugar. He likes ice cream. Oh, I like ice cream. Oh,
I like ice cream. I like cookies like candy. I like. Me too. I have it over my house.
Chocolate. I don't have a big like I don't do like sugary candy, but I do I do like chocolate.
I like sugar. Sour packed kids. A non-sugary candy.
candy, if you will.
Well, dark chocolate is actually good for you if you don't eat a lot of it.
There's an antioxidant and very dark chocolate.
I don't like dark chocolate.
I like milk and white chocolate.
So it's not good for you.
Yeah.
But I think that's going to be my big thing.
Do you have any?
Do you either one of you have big.
I'm doing this with you.
You're doing sugar with me.
I don't know.
Mine last year was to work on my time management.
And I feel like it's actually gotten better.
I got a visual timer.
You're working on it.
I'm working on it.
So it could go back into this year also.
Yeah.
I think it overlapping to next year too.
You have gotten better.
Yes, I'm more mindful and intentional with my getting ready time.
Here's the thing.
I value punctuality.
So it's not that I'm showing up places like 30 minutes late.
It's that I'm always rushing and to get ready.
So Joe's like sitting at the front door being like you have to be ready in three minutes
and you look like you have about 15 minutes of stuff left to do.
And I'm running around the apartment.
You know what my New Year's resolution though, too, is to be more discipline
about not letting my stuff like my laundry or my packages pile up.
to be more disciplined about putting them away
right from the get-go and...
Because once I get two...
I mean, I hope you stick to that.
I hope you take that New Year's resolution on two for yourself.
Well, because it gets overwhelming.
If you let it go, then you're like, well, now I can't.
I don't have time to tackle it now.
Our apartment is small, so it's like three days and it's like...
Oh, I know, mine too.
Yeah, I know.
The packages are a lot.
Damn, Amazon.
Joan, this was fun.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for a few.
And we will see you tonight.
Yes.
See you a little bit.
See you a little bit for Jingle Ball.
Thanks for coming.
fun. Katie, Zach, welcome to bachelor ebby hour. How we doing? Katie, how are you doing right
now? I'm doing great, little nauseous, but I'm going to push through.
Wipped here from a gifting suite and just scarfed out and have a sandwich. So we can start with
Zach. Let's start. Let's start off with you, babe. I'm not shaking right now, which is a good
start. That's a good start. But no, we're doing really well. How are you guys doing?
We're good. Last time we had you guys on was right after your intimate wedding ceremony.
We talked to all things wedding, and now we saw you guys just had your wedding celebration in Austin.
How did that go?
Oh, my God.
It was amazing.
It flew by, though.
We had, like, so much going on.
So we had the pickleball tournament, which was kind of like our version of a welcome party.
And then our celebrate.
Oh, that's fun.
Yeah.
It was really cool.
Did you, like, pair up people or do people enter as pairs?
We paired up people.
Yeah, we paired up people, usually, like, couples that came together.
It was really good.
It was a lot busier than we thought it was going to be.
Like, we thought there was going to be.
going to be probably less people that showed up to the pickleball tournament, but we had a good
amount of people. And the guy that was running the tournament, I feel like he needed an assistant
because it was so chaotic. Was it just like one of your friends that ran the tournament? Yeah. Literally
he's a pro pickleball player. And he's like, oh, I'll do this. He had a whole app set up.
Yeah. He could just plug in the names and it was bracket style. He kicked ass for sure.
Did you guys have like drinks and food? Yeah. Yeah, we had. Oh my God.
This is such a good idea. We did a pledge of allegiance to start. We started with like the
U.S. Pledge of Allegiance and then the Canadian.
Canadian Anthem.
Yeah.
It was super cool and it's just like a really like birthday party idea or something.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
People are looking to do something different than like a party at night.
And I feel like a lot of people are steering away from like alcohol.
Yes.
So this was like a great way to just like get active.
You can enjoy it with a drink or without a drink.
Yeah, exactly.
It was just like so good for like all our worlds collided in this place and just kind of like meet each other in a more active setting than just like over drinks at a celebration.
Yeah.
before the party commenced.
So it was like perfect timing.
Everyone loved it.
More people showed up than we thought for the paperball for sure.
Well, when you do, I mean, it wasn't destination for you guys,
but probably for so many of your guests it was destination.
Sometimes it's nice to have that extra day
to say hi to everyone so you can actually enjoy the party
versus being like, oh my God, I have to spend three hours
just like greeting people that have flown for this.
Exactly.
No, it was amazing, flew by.
How was the big day?
That was awesome.
Like the actual wedding?
The actual party.
The party party.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
To a degree.
Yeah, to a degree.
Yeah.
We did a, yeah.
Yeah.
What's the part where it's just the party, the celebration part of voice?
Like a reception party, wedding celebration, yeah.
Perfect.
Yeah, it was amazing.
We did our first dance together, so it kind of felt more of like a reception feel to it.
And then Zach did a dance with my mom and his mom.
So that was beautiful.
And then we did a speech.
I got choked up within like three seconds.
And then Zach took over.
Thank God.
But, yeah, it was just amazing.
It was just, like, so cool to have, like, our Bachelor World and then my Canadian friends and family and then his friends and family from California altogether.
And I don't know the next time that would ever happen.
So it was, it was beautiful.
Did anything?
Oh, sorry.
All four of us were sick.
Okay.
Did you get choked up because you were sad or because you were, like, because of emotions or nerves?
It was more of, like, me being, like, overwhelmed with gratitude that everybody was there.
Like I could even like start crying now just like at the thought of like I don't know why I guys I haven't I've been sleeping I'm going to vomit like but it was just amazing it truly was like everybody flying in like it's not cheap to do so yeah now it worked perfect and then at midnight or so towards the end of the night we had raising canes come and just drop off box combos for everybody yeah you could hear a kid drop out my Instagram
Did you just do a deal?
We love Keynes.
We do.
Late food at weddings is the best.
We go to a lot of weddings, so we have all of our different, like, tricks and hacks.
And usually I'll eat before we go to the wedding a little something.
And then dinner is usually always like, you're eaten, but you're not eaten.
And then, like, the chicken sandwiches come out and I'm all over it.
Were there any, like, problems, disasters, anything go wrong?
No.
No.
Actually, no.
Anything.
No.
Everyone got along.
I mean, it was fun just watching the world's blend because, like, there was some, like, interesting conversations that people had for sure.
But there was no problems.
Everyone got along.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's still, like, we're still, like, talking to people about it of like, could you believe this?
It was so much fun.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, no drama.
It was very smooth.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No one got too drunk.
No one got, yeah, it was perfect.
Like, walked to bed before the party started.
I will say the one time we did shots with, like, Joey, Kelsey, Jess, Gabby, all of them.
we were taking a shot and I saw Joey throw the shot in a plant and I was like I saw that I've done that really yeah he was he was watering the plant with tequila I was like you get your ass back to the bar and you take a shot and he did yeah you did yeah you did good good good for him good way to step up all right this is your first Christmas as a married couple what are you guys doing oh for me uh nothing really she's she's working at the hospital so you have to work like every other Christmas or something.
thing. So we're going to just do a Kate and I and honey little Christmas just a little Christmas.
But we are flying out to California the week prior to celebrate with my family.
Yeah. We're going to do like an early Christmas, open up presents with his family.
I think on the 23rd, 20 seconds.
Oh, okay. That's not even that early. That's still a very holiday.
Yeah.
What about your filming in Canada?
My mom is actually going to spend it with my brother's girlfriend's family.
She's a single mom. So she's just going to join them.
Yeah, she's a little flexibility there.
Yeah.
That's kind of nice.
Yeah.
It'll be good.
Any New Year's plans?
No.
No.
New Year's is so hard.
No more plans.
Yeah.
No, I'm like so over traveling.
Like I just want our house to be built.
I want to decorate it.
I want a family.
Yes.
That's what I like, I just want to stay home.
Yeah.
Well, you guys have done a lot of planning because you have, I mean,
you've done more intimate ceremonies than just a big blowout wedding.
but that's still a lot of planning for both of them probably.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
My hair was like starting to fall out.
I started breaking out.
I'm like,
I'm done.
When's the house going to be ready?
We're thinking it'll probably be ready like June, July.
Okay.
Depending on weather and stuff.
Yeah.
That's not terrible.
Yeah.
We're trying to like coordinate like when we should start trying for kids when the house comes.
The school system.
The school system.
Yeah.
Kathy was talking to us about it last night.
Like when is the best.
time to have a kid.
Is there an ideal time, like in the year?
Yeah, what was she saying?
You got to actually start 10 months earlier, not nine months,
but then it has to be between these certain months so that you can start your kid.
She's like, have a kid before June 1st.
Wow, let's add something.
Oh, yeah, because the school systems are different than in Canada.
In Canada, it's like everyone born in the same calendar year goes into a grade.
But here is different.
It's like September.
June in California.
And then it's like in Texas, it's like September or something.
This was like brand new.
news to me kind of went over my head too
a little bit. Yeah, I just learned this
because our close family
friends who live in the U.S.
Like, we're one year apart, but like
two grades apart or something
because of where like the birthday cut off is.
I don't know. It's so interesting.
I think you just, once you start
trying, you just try.
Honestly, yeah.
That was poetic right there.
But you can't really plan it.
You know, like you can tee it up.
Yeah.
I'm like, okay, great, we want to get, we want to have the baby this month.
So let's start this month.
But like, who knows what's going to happen?
Yeah, it's a journey, I'm sure.
I don't care when we have a baby.
Yeah, what are you guys saying?
As far as the month.
As far as the month.
Yeah.
We don't know.
I mean, like, I'd rather not have an Aquarius male child.
But I don't know if I.
What's about an Aquarius?
What's the deal with the Aquarius?
Are you an Aquarius?
No, he's an area.
She's like, I don't want another one of them.
But yeah, no, I don't.
I don't really care, I guess.
I think we'll see what happens.
Yeah, when we try, we try, you know.
Fair enough.
Jiggle ball tonight.
Are you guys excited?
Oh, yeah.
You're excited to see.
Yes.
Zara Larson.
I'm super pumped to see her.
Kid Leroy.
Kid Leroy.
Alex Warren.
That guy.
He was at Lollapalooza, I think, wasn't he?
I think he was playing right across.
Oh, we were at Lala Poulosa.
I was, when you kept saying Lola Paloza, in my head, I was thinking Coachella.
No.
And I was like, we weren't there.
I met Kidleroy at Coachella.
Actually, this year, yeah.
He performed it.
Is he nice?
Yeah, he was a sweetheart.
Was he still with Tate McCrae at that point?
At that point, yeah.
She's a Canadian.
I know.
All the good ones come from Canada, right?
Come on.
Yeah, they do.
Something about those Canadians.
Something about them.
It was so much fun catching up, and we will see you in a few hours.
Yeah, cool.
I'm ready.
Thanks for coming on.
Thanks for having us.
This has been so fun, wishing you guys all.
a happy holiday season.
