very cold out yeah it's really cold we thankfully are in probably the warmest room in the whole house right now which is this podcast room i'm so comfortable right now this is the first time all night no i'll be in here very comfortable forever so what's new who should who should i start with i'm going to start with susy okay what's new you guys you're you're living here in l. yeah i'm here in LA as of this year it's been it's been not almost a year but I came out to sublease about a year ago trial to LA and yeah I made the official move like in spring and it's been so good it's been like really career driven and like I feel like I'm a broken record probably to Justin who's heard a thousand times but I feel like I've

taken a lot of opportunities that aren't always like they don't like pay the most money or they're not like the most like you know I'm not like building my personal brand but they're like videography gigs or they are jobs that are like moving in the direction of like creativity and like maybe they don't pay as much but I feel like they're putting me in the right rooms and so I'm getting a lot of like the career and networking that I've like the reasons why I moved to LA so I feel like I've been like I'm proud of what I've accomplished since getting here that's great what's the angle I think I'm still trying to figure that out but I think like ultimately I just want to be like a self-sufficient businesswoman that has my videography, my media company, and doing

you know, video production, photography. And like, I think I've realized that like sometimes weddings get a bit rinse and repeat and it's like you're doing the same thing. You sort of like lack creativity eventually. And so it's nice to be able to like keep trying new things and like building a new portfolio and like going in a new direction. So like that's been really fun for me so I don't know that I'm ever going to like change that and like stop evolving but I think it all will be like based around media video photography. I've always wondered that especially like after having a wedding like I feel like people that do weddings like wedding planning wedding videography wedding photography you have to be so passionate about that space because you're doing so many

things that are so the same like you're just doing weddings like over and over you have to like I kudos to like our whole team because like finding the uniqueness and like the creativity in every single project must be quite challenging. Right. Also I want to say y'all's wedding was beautiful

and it was captured beautifully. Like I loved the media that came out of your wedding. I felt like it was really beautiful. And I love seeing the Bachel Nation weddings because I do go then creep on the photographers, videographers and I love to like see their work and I feel like you guys had really good taste.

Our videographers were truly great. Oh, my God. They were amazing. They really went like above and beyond the whole weekend, which is great. Because like, you don't know until it's over to see what they did. Like, they could have captured nothing. I wouldn't have known. Right.

You're just living. And just living in the moment. And then they send it to you after. And you're like, oh my gosh. Like, thank you so much for showing up and doing all this work. I mean, watched it back in its entirety. So we had like the highlight reel, which we shared on Instagram. I think there will be more footage to come potentially.

But I mean, they've seen. us so much. Like, I feel like we've really watched, like, the main parts. Yeah. I don't know. I've seen people recently, actually, they're like, this is our fifth time watching our wedding. Oh, my gosh.

I think. Those people don't get to watch themselves on. So, we've done enough. We've done enough watching ourselves. Yeah. So, uh, Justin, what's new with you? Yeah.

So you guys are living together. No. But you've moved to L.A. around the same time. really belief. Susie bailed on living together. I should remember that.

Yeah, you do, right? Yeah, because you were in New York. You were like, yeah, Susie was going to live with us and now she's not. I literally have the receipts. She was like, it's going to be like, new girls. Yeah, I thought it was going to be a new girl.

I'm not lying. I thought it was going to be a new girl. And here's the thing about, she's infamous for like the well, like, you totally don't have to do it. I'm like, no, no, no. But like, I'm just giving me the option where you don't have to if you don't want to. I'm like, no, no, I'm good.

She's like, are you, like, no pressure. I'm like, okay, so you don't want to. And that's how she got out of it. Wow. Bro. Okay, first of all, there's a whole backstory that we literally can't even get into as private, not in a bad way, just like in a secretive way, that as to why I was, I think you should share it. No.

I think you're like, we've got the time. We're ridiculous. The age is yours. There's a whole other side of this as to why it was complicated. But I tried, like, Andrew and Justin were going day. without replying to emails about housing situations. And finally, I said, hey, I actually do remember that as well. Andrew and I made it work, right?

We lived together for two months. I guess all odds. I was out here a month before y'all because I had work. So I was like, I'm sorry if you guys want to, are we, is it our first fight? Are we fighting right now? Yeah. Whoa. It was heated.

No, but I do think like I had to be out here for work reasons. And I got to the point where I was like, hey. like no pressure. I just need to know the vibe. And yeah, I do think it was a bit of like gaslighting. On whose part? Justin. No, I'm just kidding. Justin, you gaslighter.

No, I'm... I do love saying that. Just for fun. You know, too much TV. Too much reality TV. No, I'm totally joking about that. But I don't spread those rumors. Yeah, don't spread those. Guys, I swear. She's joking. She's joking. She's joking. I love a headline.

No, I'm actually joking about that. But yeah, I just like didn't work out. We both know. It just like didn't work out. There were other things that came into play. But we live like 10 minutes for each other. Me, him and Andrew, we're kind of inseparable for a minute. So basically, I kind of similar came out here in March and did kind of like a little test trial for L.A.

Because I knew I love Baltimore with all my heart, born and raised, but I needed to get out of there. And it was between New York or L.A. And when I was in Baltimore, I was in New York all the time. So I was like, I know what it's going to be like to live there. LA is a huge move. So before I pull the trigger on that, like, let me see what it's going to be like. So I lived with Andrew for like two months. Found my spot.

Love it. And moved here full time. What area? I'm in West Hollywood. How is it with Andrew? Because you lived alone before and I know you loved living alone. Yes, I love living alone. Yeah.

No, I remember you're saying that. I love Andrew. We definitely live different lifestyles. Right. Sure. Sure. so it was it was it was it was awesome because like he and I you know we're great friends and you know we have similar interests and we would just he's so funny and so the comedic aspect and going to the gym together and just being able to go to different things together was awesome but it was so funny just kind of like see our day to day routines in the contract between them give us an example well you know Andrew see you know you know you know Give us a gentle example.

Okay, so like, I'm not a huge phone talker. Okay. I'm not a huge phone talker, right? I have never been. This man, Andrew, has a rolodex of FaceTime's, like, on schedule. I was on the phone with my best friend from back home one day. I was like, it's 10.57, you got three minutes. Guarantee you at 11 o'clock.

Andrew's got to FaceTime. Clockwork. He's, hey, how you doing? Hey, man, just checking in on you. He would, like, he has a routine of FaceTime to go with, and it's just like, he's so fun. Like, he's so vibrant and like, you know, it's Andrew. He's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a live people person, you know? And it's like, where is I, like, I live by myself.

And there's times, I swear, I'm so weird. It'll be like, five people. I'm like, I haven't said a word out loud. Not that I would talk to myself out loud, but I'm like, I haven't exercised my vocal cords. Like, like, I just, I keep to myself a lot. But Andrews, he's he's so funny and so lively. so just like just to kind of see those that's a good example because

I feel like that attests to both your personalities but also just like that's so relatable for anyone with a roommate like it's like okay like I hear you on FaceTime for the third time today like who else are you going to be talking to because I'm talking to no one and keeping

quiet over here and you're not but it was it was so great because we would you know we'd meet up a lot the whole friend group in different cities and stuff like that but it was cool to to live with him and just kind of like have that built-in friend. Well, moving to L.A. too, it must have been nice to, like, move with someone. Right.

So it's like, this is so new for both of us. And we go to different events and, you know, go hang out with Nate and Rodney together. And it was cool. And I tried with all my might to get him to stay. And I'm like, dude, like, but you can't pull that guy from Chicago. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. Can't pull him.

So my boyfriend's professor is way too friendly. and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. I feel like I'm the Andrew. I'm the FaceTime, aren't I? You think you're the FaceTimer? Well, you make about 50 calls a day, and they're all about two to four minutes long. And I will make about two. Yeah. I'm not even, I don't even think I'm, I don't even think it's two. It's like, four minutes is a stretch.

What are you doing? Going to the gym? What do we have to talk about? Bye. I'm like the definition of like, this could have been an email. Yeah. This could have been a text. Joe doesn't really text.

He's a two minute caller, and he does a bajillion of them a day. And I'm like, like, max three, but like one face time a day. for like a good 30 minutes to an hour. See, I'm never doing that. No, never. The only person I think you would do that would be me. Because if we're like apart, I'll be like at the end of the day. Even when Serena calls me and I'm just like, what's up?

And she starts out. I'm like, all right. I'm like, where are you going? Where do you think you're going? Yeah. This conversation is just started. Susan has actually called me out on it and I need to be better. I love my mother with all my heart.

She's the sweetest woman on earth. She's a phone talker. Yeah. Right? and she'll call me every day, like clockwork, hey, what are you doing? How's your day been? What are you doing next?

I'm like, mom, what's up? You know? And if I, be nice to your mother, I'm like, if I happen to be in the room when his mom calls, I'm literally like,

be sweet to her. You need to be nice to her right now. Because I'm like, you, like, she is calling you because she loves you. And I appreciate her, but I'm like, I don't need to talk.

Yes, you do. Yeah, you do to your mama. Did you have, you've seen the Nick Kroll stand up where he talks about how, everyone boys deal with their mom when they call like the nice

she's the nicest sweetest person in your life and as soon as your mom is like what the fuck does my mom it's all positive always like I appreciate her she's my biggest fan like I love her so much it's so true though boys will be like my mom is my rock my angel

she's like everything to me and then she'll call she's like I don't want to talk to my mom literally I'm like the anti of that I'm like we need to pro-act like dissipate that within you because I just, it's like such a sweet thing. It's your mom. And I get it. I also get it. Like, you know, moms are moms for a reason and

like they drive us nuts. But like, I'm like, if I'm calling you, it's because I have an objective. Like I have something I'm trying to talk about or need to know. You're a goal oriented caller. You're not a chit-chatty caller. Yes. But mama's a chit-chatter. Oh, mamas are. Yeah. So what are you, Justin, what are you doing for work right now? So it took everything out of me. I was working in finance. I was in institutional investment sales and it was with a fintech startup.

And for the past year and a half, I've been working on my own company, my own business, which has been taking a lot of time away from that stuff. And it's what I'm passionate about. So I made the tough decision to step away from that and pursue my own business. It's in the spirits industry. Oh, nice. Exciting. Congratulations.

Thank you. It's been a lot of work, but, yeah, that's where my passion's at and pulled the trigger on it. And I've been doing that. Nice. Justin loves booze and now he's going to make a business out of bed. Not talking. Not talking. Quietly drinking.

Drink by yourself. Okay. So we do have to ask, are you guys like dating? Is that a thing? Are you just friends? Justin wishes. She loves to say that. I feel like that's Susie's go-to answer.

Yeah. So how's this going to work when one of you starts dating someone else? That's the question. No, we actually do talk about that. So it's literally, it's come up. Because, you know, we do like little funny. You guys are like each other's like substitute boyfriend and girlfriend, right? Like you're not the permanent teacher, but you're like the sub.

You know, it's like, hey, let's like watch a movie together. Let me just throw. I'm just going to throw some out there. Okay. Have you guys hooked up before? No. Okay. There we go.

All right. I don't know. I've just thought about it. I've dreamt of it. No. I've thought about it. Like, I'm not going to say I haven't thought about it.

I've looked at his lips before. Like, yeah. Okay. But then what's stopping it? Because everyone sees you guys truly. Okay. Honestly, it's Justin. Okay.

I'll tell the truth. So it's a huge risk, right? And we have had this conversation because we are such good friends and I love and appreciate Susie. so much in my life that you know she's not just like a casual like hookup whatever right like if we were to cross that line it's like there's got to be longevity to it and the scary thought is if that were to not go as planned right it's like we don't want to lose that foundation

of the friendship and have that person in each other's lives and that's the risk how long have you known each other a little year yeah i feel like you could risk definitely. Okay, but what's scarier? Like, what if... Okay, but like, Justin, Justin. Yeah. Like, okay, I hear you. Like, you guys are great friends. You've built an amazing friendship. That's very valuable. But, like, Susie gets swept off her feet. Like, Prince of France comes and, like, goes and is like,

Susie, you're my girl. Come move to France with me. I'm in love with you. She's like, oh my God, you're so handsome. I don't know. I feel like that happened, like, gossip girl or something. And like... I know he won't be as funny as me? No, but she's gone. Well, you won't you regret not being like, we should have, like, tried it? You know?

That's kind of honestly... If you don't lock her down, someone's going to lock her down. Honestly, though, this is a very, this is a very similar story to Ashley and Jared. Oh, my gosh. They told us. We just did their podcast, and she was saying that this is literally like their story. And I will say, like, I joke that it's just Justin, but like, we've talked about this stuff. And it's like, I think I said this on their podcast too, but I'm like, if we cross the boundary.

It's like right now Justin can come to my wedding. I can go to his. No, you can't. I think we can. Yeah, like, if we cross. Anyone see that Seinfeld? Sex to save the relationship. So that was a good episode, but that does not apply here.

See, I think it's like. I love a good signfield. I love a good sign film. I do watch a lot of side felt. Okay. Yeah, so there's, there's a sign. Being held up right now by. our podcast producer. It says just make out.

Just make out already. And honestly, it'd be doing you guys a disservice to not have that on camera. You'll wait until it's on camera. I would also feel uncomfortable. Yeah, we don't need to stay here and watch you guys.

Like, and this is nothing against the guys that went to Paradise. But I personally feel like I'm a bit older. comparatively to the people that went and I do think

And she was like, I could tell she was waiting for me. me to like it was like a rom-com right she's jiggling the thing i'm like susie it's unlocked you can get out and i was like you know you don't have to go if you don't want to rest of history there's people listening to this that are like thinking it's real is this true literally i don't know i'm glad you're in the spirits business okay because the story would you susy would you would you be interested in doing the videography for Gary and did they ask you yes no but I suggested it you should definitely I

literally suggest it and I was like do you guys need a videographer for the wedding because she's so talented you are you should do it Justin's been learning he's my second shooter so we could be a little dream team but you're also like don't sell yourself short you like oh my god you can be the live illustrator yeah you're a really good painting you're so talented too like we've literally joked about not kind of joke, but like not just like tag team like wedding stuff. Yeah.

Yeah, I would love to do like a live Susan is in the business of officiating weddings. Who else is? There's got to be a family affair. I guarantee you we need like a photographer. Who's a photographer? Sam.

Dean and Dean and Taylor are amazing photographers. We have enough people in this house. We have enough that we could build an entire empire of, hey, we have a one stop shop. What would we do? We could host.

Couples counseling. Literally. Couple scale. It's like we could be your post-wedding therapist. Yep. So have you two hooked up yet? Why not? That's so funny.

That would be amazing. Yeah. No, I would so be down. That'd be very cool. That'd be very fun. Hook it up, Joe. I will. So before we let you guys go, what's next?

Anything you could share with us? Staying in L.A., both of you? As of right now. For the foreseeable future. Yeah. I feel like right now, LA, I'm figuring things out, doing like video stuff and trying to figure out, like, what direction is next, evolving video photo, having fun with it. And like, yeah, just trying to figure out what's next in the most fun and exciting and ambitious way. Nice.

For me, getting this company off the ground. and I think, you know, a lot of the artistry that I do has been more so, I mean, a lot of commission stuff, but I'm looking to lean into that a lot more, but like a lot more targeted. A lot of the commission stuff I would do would be inbound stuff, but I really want to work with more, last season I did a mural for the Baltimore Ravens that's in their stadium. So I want to be more targeted and I'm working, talking to a couple different professional franchises to do different art projects for, you know, their stadiums and they're, you know, franchises and whatnot. Do you have a specific style that you like best? Yeah, I feel like I

skew more towards like the realism side of things. I grew up with like, and I sound like such a nerd, with like an appreciation for oil paints, but because there's just like a lot of artistry that goes into oil painting. But for practicality purposes, acrylic has been like kind of like the go too. So I've been doing a lot more acrylic paintings. But yeah, I think realism. But, yeah, I mean, I love sports. So if I can combine my passion and art with, you know, sports and kind of making a thing, I would love to do that. So working on that and the business. Amazing. All right.
