This is an I-Heart podcast.
I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast.
Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about how to be a better you.
When you think about emotion regulation, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy
which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome.
Avoidance is easier.
Ignoring is easier.
Denials easier.
Complex problem solving takes effort.

Welcome back, Happy Hour listeners. We are here in studio for a very exciting episode.
We are here live with Mentel All. And first and foremost, we were talking to you some of your
favorite guys. And, well, speaking of Favorite Guys, we actually are starting with Nate here on
Happy Hour. We saw a lot go down tonight.
So I want to get into all of it because a lot of the viewers won't see everything.
So we want to get like the behind the scenes, the tea, like how you were feeling in the moment of the hot seat, seeing Gabby again.
So let's get into it first and foremost.
I feel like we have to start off Happy Hour Right with H-COs.
So welcome, Nate.
Welcome, Michelle.
It feels good to be in person again.
How are you feeling?
Well, I feel good.
Just got out of the Vince Hill All.
It's good seeing the guys again.
good seeing the girls, and it's just refreshing to be around familiar faces and people
who you went through so much with. So I feel really good right now. Well, yeah, this is the first
time that you guys have all been reunited. Well, not all because obviously Chris and Hayden did not
show up. For most of you, this is the first time you guys are all in the same room again. Like,
what was that vibe like? That vibe was just a positive energy. It was one of just like accomplishment.
You know, we all tried to find love. It didn't happen, but we found friendship and memories and
experiences that we did grow from and we're going to continue to be the people that you saw us as
and maybe continue on with vaccination if it so leads us down that path.
Oh yeah, you're stuck with us.
I'm sorry.
Whether you want to be or not, unfortunately.
You're part of this world.
That's so interesting though that you say that just because I think people who go into
men to all or even women to all, it's not always like a positive vibe.
You know, there's a lot of drama that sometimes unfolds, right?
Like drama between the contestants.
Some?
That tends...
Or a lot.
The most.
A lot, all the ways.
Too much, right?
But it's, but to like go into it and have that sense of accomplishment afterwards is not necessarily
a normal thing.
Do you feel like you were able to say everything that you wanted to?
Yeah, I definitely felt like I had the platform to speak from my heart and to address the
issues that happened in the house that people may not have known, you know, just like
saying, like, I wasn't a part of the first Chris part in that.
you know, I had a reaction to Hayden, I didn't really get to address it on the shit,
but I talked to him, you know, on side of conversations about how that wasn't really correct.
And then being able to address it to the crowd, it felt freeing.
And then as well as being able to reminisce with Gabby over our time and let her know that I supported a decision,
even though it hurt, like, I still valued our relationship and I grew from it.
So that was very freeing.
And I was, I was glad that I got to do that tonight.
I feel like you can finally breathe easy a little bit now that this is behind you.
Yeah, yeah.
I feel like the consensus for people coming in, like you said, whether it's men to all or women to all, is like they dread it.
They don't want to do it because you never know what's going to like be brought up again, what you have to rehash.
But I feel like every time, especially last women till all, we did this in person and we were cycling contestants through.
And the consensus was that they were like, we're so happy we did it.
We're so happy it's over.
But now we can just like put this behind us and move on with our life and like, go on to the next chapter.
Yeah, it's like closure with an ex.
Like you may not like it all the time, but it needs to be done so you can move forward with your life.
And that was a bit step in the right direction for, I think, all of us.
One thing I wanted to ask you is because you had the hot seat, which obviously we could, well, not we.
I wasn't there.
But you could talk about everything from night one to your relationship with Gabby.
And then fast forward to Gabby and Rachel are sitting in front of you at the end of the night.
And one thing that I found very powerful and moving in that conversation where they addressed
you actually and like the social media, everything that's been going on, they said that they got
to know you for you, right? And they can speak to how kind of a person you are, how respectful
of a person you are. And I felt like that was a very special moment because they actually
know you for who you are, which I think is so important people forget as you're watching
a TV show that it is behind a screen and it's edited. And, you know, everyone has.
like their thoughts on somebody until they get to know them. So how in that moment when they're
kind of coming to bat for you? How did that feel? It meant a lot for me. You know, I'm not
going to say that I was perfect. You know, I made a lot of mistakes in my past, but I have grown
from that. And I just wanted it to shine through with my character and what I've been doing
moving forward. And I'm glad that they were able to see me for who I was during the show and who I'm
going to continue to try to be, you know, anybody can point at, you know, everybody can point at a
past where I did something stupid or may not have acted in the right character that they should
have been. But I've since moved from, you know, that behavior. And I'm glad that they were
able to recognize it. Yeah. I think that was important. We've all done stupid stuff. We've all said
stupid stuff. No one said anything perfectly. But I think who we saw on the screen and who they can
attest to and even the men that lived with you who they can attest to your character, I think is
should speak volumes over anything else. And just so consistent. You know, I think that's a hard part
that people forget about is the fact that as this is rerunning as everybody's watching as
you're watching, you might think that you have a piece of closure and then something else pops up
or the, you know, the audiences' reactions pop up. Do you feel like with everything that has happened,
are you able to, you know, be able to take those steps forward and kind of let that go off your
chest with hearing how Gabby, you know, truly does believe who you are in your character?
Yeah, it's always good to be validated by the people around you have seen the change in you, you know, it's, you know, I've forgiven myself for a lot of my past behaviors. I feel like I hope that people who have known me in the past can do the same. And then I just want to make sure that the people who are close to me continue to place me in check if I do fall out in line and getting the people, you know, having the right circle around you does really mold who you are. And I feel like I do have that. And so I'm glad that, you know, everything went well.
I didn't do anything out of the character that I wanted to be,
and I'm still growing into the man that I want to be.
I do want to ask you because, I mean, I've watched the show for a while.
I've done a few seasons.
I've had my heartbroken on it.
We all have seen breakups.
Yours and Gabby's actually moved me to slight tears.
I will say that, which doesn't happen very often.
But watching that moment between you two was something so raw.
and like you could see Gabby's real emotion like with that struggle of like he is such an
incredible man I'm just not there yet like not ready to be a mom or a stepmom and that's
just so much to take on oh my gosh I don't ever know where to begin like rewatching it back
because that's the first time I mean you obviously lived it but that's the first time watching it
do you feel like you now kind of have the closure after seeing it all unfold and watching it
back and being able to speak with her no absolutely I think that was absolutely
be one of the hardest breakups I've had to go through because it wasn't anything with our
connection. It was just, you know, life circumstances and to understand that and be mature
enough to be able to step back and say, okay, you're not there right now. I still appreciate
this for what it was. I still, you know, have a deep amount of respect and admiration for you.
It was, it was special for me to see it and just to know that she went through a lot going
through that relationship that she may not have thought that she would have had to face
during this journey. So I'm just glad that I got to be a part of that aspect in her life
to see, you know, see what she would face if she had to date a guy with the child and know
that, you know, she can have a real connection even though she may not be there, but she did
make the right choices and I applaud her for not, you know, just going through the motions
and meeting my child and then causing trauma in that way. So it was really meaningful for me as
well because our entire relationship was beautiful to me and it still is and I and I
love the growth that I had going through that.
Yeah.
It flows to the screen.
There was not a dry eye.
Oh no, no, it was so quiet as we were watching.
All right, Becca, take it away.
I know you've been wanting to ask this for a really long time.
This is the number one thing that I had in my notes here.
I love your suit.
I feel like it's not very often that we see a good green.
Describe the fit for all of our listeners.
Oh my gosh.
So I have a peak lapel, a green suit.
It's almost like a tweed, but not quite.
It's like a linen tweed kind of.
And explain your, someone, someone asked if this was an earring.
No, it's like a bright.
That's what I said.
It's, so it's dedicated for a lapel pin, but it's this, it's shaped as an earring, but it's a pearl to accent, you know, the pearl necklace that I wore.
Absolutely acknowledge that.
Well, we don't talk about pearl necklaces here at Bachelor Happy Art.
Okay.
On that note.
All right.
Okay.
I'm getting kicked out.
I just have to say we dubbed this.
We named your suit.
The martini suit because it's like a dirty, not dirty, but like an olive martini.
I should like that.
And we love olives and martinis.
So yeah, we love the suit.
And you can bring the pros back in a classier way.
So we're good.
Yeah, I had to change.
It's not just straight.
I have some charms in there.
It looks, it looks wonderful.
You did great.
You were awesome.
You're doing great, sweetie.
Thank you guys so much for having.
Nate. Here we go. I feel like we don't even need an intro for this one. We have one of the
hour. What do you have to say? I'm old, please. I also, wasting no time. I have to say, I feel like
a slop kebab over here. Gabby is in her diamond-encrusted dress with her diamond-and-cris. My pants
are on buttons. Same here. I'll undo mine. Should I take up my dress? Yes. Okay, we're wasting
time. We didn't get enough meatballs, so we need more undressing.
Um, actually, speaking of your dress, tell us about it.
I'm obsessed.
I don't know anything about it.
It's lovely.
You're asking it.
One is a lizard and I'm a lizard liquor.
Well, at one point, I saw only half the lizard and I was like, I think she has an animal on her dress.
She's an animal.
She does, Becca.
Yeah.
Michelle's like, I think it's a crocodile.
It's a dragon, a lizard, a crocodile.
Whatever reptile.
I'm also cold-blooded.
Okay, girl like this.
I feel like we're going to get along real well.
Yeah.
And the color.
I have my dress is my soul. Thank you very much. Tonight. Coming into tonight, men tell all,
you weren't sure what kind of questions or things were going to be coming your direction.
If you were going to be met with heat, if you were going to be met with, you know,
there's a lot of times where people come into it with closure. How are you feeling walking in to tonight?
I felt good walking into tonight, honestly. I felt like I got a lot of closure on the show
and while we were filming, and I always tried to be open and honest with the guys in the moment.
So they really got to know the full me.
So I feel like I walked away kind of with no regrets.
Mario thought differently.
I think.
Well, we don't need to bring up old wounds here.
Well, so actually, speaking of Mario and all of your exes,
it's not every day that you walk into a room with 30 of your exes.
No one likes meeting one.
Let's be honest.
So what was that?
Like, where was your mindset walking in of like seeing these guys?
And is there anything that you really wanted to say?
to any of them? Not really. I mean, I honestly felt like we were treated with so much respect
besides the Jacob and Hayden's of it all. But Jacob, I think, had a really heartfelt apology,
and all I wanted to hear is that he did learn and grow from what he had said to us by watching it back.
So when he said that, I was like, there's nothing else that I can really give. That meant the
world. So I was excited. All the guys looked so good.
I mean, and I'm like, damn, I did that.
You're like, it's like night one once again.
Do you have any idea that Hayden was not going to be here?
I did.
Was I supposed to do?
I don't know.
I don't know.
What were your thoughts then?
What were your thoughts when you found out he was not going to be here?
Or chose not to phone?
It honestly wasn't that surprising.
Truthfully, I think he was getting a lot of heat online and stuff, rightfully so.
So I think he could have taken the high road, came to apologize and see what he had to have said.
But I think he would have gotten ripped apart by the men, probably by me.
so maybe he was just trying to like probably by us also yeah so if he was trying to protect himself
and that's what he needs but hopefully he can learn and grow from the situation too yeah uh what was your
highlight of the entire night so far i think just seeing Nate especially with the last episode that aired
i can't believe that was the last time we truly saw each other and he did and does mean so much to me
so being able to have one last conversation that was really heartfelt and just i think we picked up right
where we left off, and we both have such a mutual respect for each other.
So not that I expected anything different, but it was really good to have that again.
And that respect was definitely shown because you did make, you know, the statement of,
I do know you, Nate, you know, after he kind of really spoke about everything that was going
on, the different things that have come out online as this is unfolding.
And for you to have so much confidence in him and show him that, what are your thoughts
or what were your just reactions and intentions as those things were starting to come,
not even come to light because, again, rumors, but that's a part of this.
How did you feel when all that was just kind of erupting?
I think because I do know him so well and he was such a big presence in my journey and in the house.
I know all the boys love him.
He was always teaching them how to treat women and how to have integrity
and kind of do this the right way that when I heard about that stuff,
it didn't even shake me. I didn't think twice. I was like, I can't believe he's going through
this. I can't believe that people are taking their precious time to take someone else down
and, you know, kind of ruining an opportunity for them and living in this very positive light
that they've built for themselves. And not to mention, it's his decision when he chooses and
if he chooses a share that he has a child. I didn't ever, I mean, he was always up front with me.
We had a really good conversation about it, and I always brought her into conversation,
and we are all talked about it, but that's not, that's on his decision.
That's not up to me.
So I'll take, of course, what's given to me.
But I think everyone has seen watching back how good of a guy he really is,
and I don't think that should shake it.
I don't think that should change anyone's mind.
Yeah.
So my last question for you, Gabby.
Hit me, Becca.
You know, we, uh, in the face.
You know, we saw meatball slowly undressed.
We saw him.
pour that lovely mariner sauce
all down his body. Did you like? I loved it. I was like, I want something to do this
to me too. Really? That's how you felt when that was happening? I love sauce.
Yes. Yeah. Give me all the sauce. I wanted some noodles. Yeah. Give me something and nice little
meatball to scoop it up with. And then the tape. But my question was, do you feel like
there was ever a decision that should have been made? Okay, let me, let me ask. To keep
meatball forever? Yes. Do you feel like you and Rachel may have
a mistake and you should have kept him till the very end till the very end for both of you
till death due his part yeah i don't blame you i would be the same he's the one who got away
me ball is the balls that got away gabby you are always so much fun to have you truly are one of
a kind i love it goofiness classiness wear your heart in your sleeve it's been awesome and thank you
for joining us today next up mario is here the first impression roll
winner himself. You were just saying you wanted to introduce yourself.
Here you go. Take it away. I got the first impression rose.
How are you feeling after everything tonight?
I'm feeling I'm feeling okay. I just, I'm very like, I'll be honest. I think that, you know,
for me, the big question was like, hey, you got the first impression rose from Gabby.
You did not get a one-on-one. It's not about that, but I felt like we didn't even get a chance
to build toward that this season, right? And so,
So I spoke with her and I got closure, but I felt like, you know, it was more of like a, I agree to disagree type thing.
And, you know, with them being the two leads, in the setting like that, you want to be careful about, and I was very, I felt like I was respectful with the way that I spoke with her about, you know, why we didn't really connect the way that we did.
And why we weren't able to continue to build or capitalize on our first night.
But I felt like she gave me a response that I understood, but I still feel like that, you know, based on the season and the rejecting of roses, that when the roses came out the third episode, that I was with Gabby, you know, and I just wish I would have got a chance to build on top of that.
And so her reasoning was, you know, essentially, hey, the guys that were with me, they were about me from day one.
And I was like, well, so was I, but, you know, I'm not going to hit the gas on that too much.
So, yeah.
What kind of, okay, so you said that you were, the situation that happened, can't go back and change it, unfortunately.
But is there something that you would have liked to hear from Gabby that you didn't hear tonight?
I think that part of me wishes that she would have been like, you know what, you're right in this sense, you know, because I felt like,
when I was watching this season back
I was waiting for them to show kind of a moment
where Gabby and I didn't connect
but all you saw was like the first impression
I had kind of a playful interaction with Rachel
the second episode where you know I took her through
a workout and I was squatting with her but there was
no like moment where it was like oh
and this is Mario this is why him and Gabby
didn't work out and so
part of me was like man you know
and talking to friends and family they're like where did you go
like you got the first rose what actually happened
and I'm like I don't know
but I'm gonna find out tonight right and so
So she gave me a response that I felt like was fair and something that I get where she's coming
from.
You know, the other guys made her priority.
But I felt like, man, all I did was have a conversation with Rachel and kind of have
a playful interaction.
It was week two.
And so that's kind of what I'm getting at a little bit.
Do you feel like it's, okay, so I do hear you on what you're saying.
So you said that you, when you're speaking or when you're watching the show, you're waiting
for like this moment where you see you guys have like a miscommunication.
disconnect correct and you said you feel like you didn't see it your storyline okay so are you saying
that you wish you had more time based off of your actual like reality interaction with her because
it seemed like you guys are on the same page right or of more of your story shown of seeing that
connection and that connection to continue to play out on the screen does that make sense yeah the
second one more of like our connection shown to continue to show like she kind of
alluded to Rachel today. She didn't say her name. She was like, you know, we were like
trying to figure out what sides you were on. And so I was like, well, when the roses came out,
I was for you. And I know I've said this a lot, but like we saw a lot of rejecting, a lot of
people pivoting essentially. And so I never did that. And I think I just wish in showtime that
there could have been more of like a story because we did have a connection. I just didn't see it
really grow. And that's okay because Gabby doesn't owe me anything. I just wish that.
like I got some sort of closure and I did tonight but I mean even like from her in a show well so
I want to ask this on the flip side then because other relationships that she had with other men
obviously were growing and are growing and so did watching those other relationships because
you obviously weren't privy to like personal intimate conversations did that kind of give you a
glimpse of like oh now I understand why she made certain decisions or
let me go when she did as you see like those other relationships growing and getting stronger
and she's like starting to fall for other people yeah I mean over time you um begin to see her grow
with others and did it give me clarity a little but you know getting that rose you still like
historically when you look at the show you know and I'm not saying you got to follow set history but
um you know you just feel like where did we go wrong you know and I think the big thing for me was
like Logan, you know, when he made that jump, he was the reason that I went home. And so I think
that that was my point today. It was like, hey, you know, this guy jumped in like a week and a half
before hometowns and you sent me home, but I've been here since day one when you think about
when you handed out the roses. So I was feeling like, hey, largest cast ever, 32 men. You
noticed me night one, you know. Where's my time? Yeah, where's my time respectfully?
Well, speaking of time shown, we saw the first kiss with Gabby, which we got to talk about that because you know, mute his microphone while you say this, mute it.
Because no, no, no, because it was a very awkwardly long kiss.
Okay, so when I happen on this podcast with you guys the first time.
No, this is about, no, this is Mario, we are the host here.
I did not.
Okay, okay.
We have one question.
We have one question.
Or maybe I do.
When you were younger, you know, when you're, you know, when you're young, you've seen the movies, but like, you know, you start to have feelings.
You practice, like, kissing a teddy bear or a pillow or your hand or maybe like an orange.
Have you ever done that?
Uh, no.
You never practice, you need a to, Mario.
I never practiced kissing a teddy bear my head.
What about your pillow?
It seems embarrassing, but.
We've all done it.
Honestly?
We've all done it.
I think, like, I can remember what's funny because, like, I just had an awkward kiss at the age of 31.
But I was, like, going to say, I can remember my first, like, awkward kiss with someone or my first kiss, I should say.
But now I'm thinking, I was like, that was really good, too?
So, like, was it or was that your first kiss you just saw?
I'm just replaying this.
And, like, you felt so awkward at the moment where you, like, picked up her hand and kissed her hand.
I was like, oh, he's nervous right now.
Honestly, like, I think when I picked up her hand, it was just like, you know, I'll just back up.
In real time, I'm going to say, set the record straight.
In real time, when I saw it, I was looking at, like, my body positioning.
My, like, leg was up.
She was there.
I'm going to be transparent with y'all.
I wasn't going for, like, full makeout.
I think your hand was actually, like, your own hands were on your leg, not hers.
You're sitting like this.
I was, like, going for, like, the soft, gentle and then ease into kind of a gradual kick.
You were being respectful and romantic.
No, I actually love that we have you here.
I just, like, love shooting the show with people.
And when we were watching a pack, I was like, this is what we have to ask.
For the record, I am a good kisser.
Gabby and I had an awkward kiss.
We shared many kisses, but you guys caught the first one.
It's okay, though, because I still got the rose.
And she said I was a good kisser.
Ah, and speak louder than more.
We could talk about practicing kisses for far too long,
but actions better back it up in the future.
Mario. Thank you for joining us. I'm glad we heard it from you here first. Yes. Thank you.
You smell great. You look a little less great, but that's only being...
We're still look good, right?
I'm not great. No, I'm just, I'm looking at these flex of marinera sauce, like dangling from your
chin hairs. Oh, God. You're on the shirt as well. I have such a long sense of smell, too.
I love a little scent to marinade.
Like guys that like meatballs or no?
Yeah, 100%
We love this for you for a little bit.
Oh my God.
I'm just going to stand and sit like this.
We're just going to hold the rose
under our nose while we chat with meatballs.
That is strong.
Okay, meatball.
All right.
Tell me.
We got to get into this.
We have the number one question.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
What made you want to tackle Billy Eichner?
And how do you think he felt about it?
And do you regret it?
Okay.
I was just going.
for the hug and there was meatball sauce on the floor and I slipped and we just went we went down
we went down a hug wow is that that's how it happened I did offer him a tight-to-go
pen and he did find yes I know he's got to get on a flight you probably need one too I know
how many how many washes how many shampoo condition rinse and repeats are you
have to do to get out of your hair you think because it's in your eyebrows it is in your
It's everywhere.
It's in your eyebrows.
You're going to be finding sauce for days.
I got this all over my shirt.
Okay.
So overall, was it worth it?
It was.
How did you feel about getting basically naked once again on national television?
I like, it's not the first time that happened.
And I love, I was like, as long as he keeps the socks on, please keep the socks on.
Wait, you want me to keep the socks on?
Yes.
Socks and sauce, baby.
Hey.
I have to say so we were in the press room watching it all live and in the press room people are
and usually it's dead ass quiet people are chanting in your name they are clapping they are cheering
for you as you take your jacket off and though all of the guys are helping you too oh yeah I was
stripping down this was teamwork I stripped down to my boxers they were fully supported
Ethan was taking all my clothes off he was not holding back I was like they were very fast at it too
They truly were.
He's good at that.
I don't even know where I was going with that question.
But I just wanted to set the scene for you in the press room.
But then the crowd was like really in it.
Everyone was chanting meatball, meatball, meatball.
I'm going to go to bed with hearing this in my mind.
This is not the last time he does this.
But okay, set the record straight.
The center of Mariner coming towards me right now.
Every time he speaks.
Every time he speaks.
I promise I'm normally really good of eye contact, but
okay, so, but set the record straight.
Yeah.
That tackle.
was not scripted that was not planned no it was not scripted do you think you have a lawsuit on
any of it was scripted uh i hope not i hope that's not coming from my ass okay we we do have to
ask a couple serious questions we can't just talk about sauce to meatballs as much as i love food don't
get me wrong um okay roby came at you guns ablazing tonight what the hell is that
i don't know i'm asking you he died his hair blonde it was coming after me that was eating
And so it's violence.
Why is the dyed hair?
What's alarmed?
I didn't know who it was at first.
I was like, oh, they brought in somebody from the audience.
Do you think it looks good?
The dyed hair?
I don't mind it.
You know, it's more about what's inside that counts, you know?
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Why are we worried about hair?
This man was eating nails.
Yeah, yeah.
But, okay.
So, back to the question.
He did come up to you.
Well, not up to you, but he felled you out and basically said to man up about rejecting
Rachel's Rose almost going through your mind in that moment like when not even a lot of drama
but like this bit of drama around you with unfolding yeah I mean I thought I explained myself pretty
well like early on I was pretty confused you know all the other guys were as well I barely got time
with both of them and when I did get time it was it was like the dinner thing meatballs yeah and so
I didn't know which way to lean so and then the cocktail party got canceled so we weren't
right into the rose ceremony, and then they were intentional, the rose they were handed out.
So when Rachel called my name, I wasn't expected.
I was expecting her rose from Gabby.
Like I thought if I wasn't a rose, it was from Gabby.
And I kind of freaked out in the moment.
I denied it, and I immediately regretted it.
And I got to go back and I have a good conversation with her and tell her how I was feeling.
And she gave me a shot.
And I really appreciate that.
And then you lasted, no offense, but longer than expected.
Yeah, I'll last until week five.
Yeah.
And then she called her, she called me her savior tonight.
Did you hear that?
No.
Yeah.
I think I missed that.
I was too busy by the sauce.
By the sauce or what that's a social savior.
Wow.
That's a big deal.
Okay.
Hey.
The saucy savior.
I'll take it.
On that note.
I feel like we could talk to you forever.
I do actually want to talk about meatballs at some point.
Okay.
I don't think the podcast is the time.
for the place for that well you guys have a great
podcast by the way thank you
you listen to it for yeah it's great
the whole family does
he's just saying that because people get nervous when they come on the
podcast now all the guys talk
back behind this and they're like they get nervous with us
no as they should damn right
you guys don't always do it live though right
right yeah you guys do the Zoom
we only when people put mariner sauce on their bodies
that's why we call you in
I would love to do it again live like
Only if you are dressed in the same outfit.
Well, our saucy savior, it has been fun.
Well, thank you for having me.
Well, we have a familiar face here with us, Wells.
It's good to see you again.
It's good to be here.
I promote your guys' podcasts and my podcast.
Do you have to, like, do the ads for us?
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't have to.
I do it because I love you guys.
And you pay me to do it, which is also nice.
That helps.
That helps.
Only $20.
Yeah, in wine
And hugs
Yes
Okay, when I first saw you tonight
I told you you had this great glow
Oh yeah
I'm assuming it's still from Paradise right?
I think so
My tan has lasted
It's been we've been back for like I guess like a month
But yeah it's
When you live in Mexico for a month
I say that like it's like a terrible thing
Oh no kidding
It's so hard guys
You don't even know I just sat on the beach
It ain't nachos.
You do deal with a lot of bullshit, though.
And a lot of UV rays.
And so that's when my skin is this beautiful chestnut color.
So no glowing spray tan before the wedding.
No.
No.
Maybe.
I don't know.
Wellesie with a little spray tan action.
I don't know.
The problem with spray tan is the, I feel like you smell weird.
You do.
Oh, yeah.
But only for 24 hours.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And your palms look weird.
And you like don't want to, when you get in bed,
You know what I'm talking about?
I mean, I haven't gotten a spray tan, but I get...
But, like, you see people of spray tan...
I know what you mean.
I do.
I do.
And their feet and everything.
And, you know, on the wedding day, like, your hands are very present, you know?
Okay, maybe do it a couple days before.
But I want to ask you, speaking of the Paradise Flow, we saw...
Well, some of the cast members that were in Paradise this year and then the teaser.
Yeah.
What can you tell us about Paradise without giving too much a way of, like, what we can all expect?
Well, I mean, because Paradise is such a popular show in Bachelor Nation, but also for ABC, they asked for more episodes.
So, you know, the, what is it?
The mother of invention is, like, ingenuity.
And, like, we had to switch things up.
We had to, like, try some new things.
So in that teaser, I think there's this, like, one scene where, like, everyone says, like, fuck you, Jesse Palmer, which is hilarious to me.
I actually loved that.
It's like a sweet guy in the world.
It's like yelling at like a puppy.
But I think that's in reference to like
kind of the things that we switched up this year.
And from my vantage point, it was hilarious and wonderful.
And I loved it.
I had to make a lot more like sad bastard margaritas than I have in the past.
That's an interesting take.
Yeah.
But, and I don't think.
the people on the beach love what was happening so much but from jesse and i's perspective it was great
uh and i think from like bachelor nations perspective they're going to love it like it's so like
the craziness that ensues from like some of the new antics that we pull um is pretty great and also
the other thing is i think people forget like how many like amazing meaningful meaningful relationships
have come out of paradise um like you know i totally understand well i was
I'm laughing because he just said antics
and then he goes into meaningful relationships
in the same sentence.
Yeah, I can pivot like...
Absolutely.
He's a...
No, but truly, it's not...
It's not all funny games.
There are things that come from it.
Yeah, and like the success rate of paradise
is amazing and
a lot of people like go on this journey
with us and like kind of fall in love
with these relationships
and I think that will be fun this season.
I think you saw like a little bit of it.
It's like people from the past
get to come back to paradise and um you know kind of relive that fun uh and i think that the
fans are really going to love that as well okay so we'll see some familiar faces the consensus
that i got from the the forecast members that were there was that it's going to be shocking i
think every time they were asked answering a question they were like i was shocked it was shocking
i was like and then andrew goes it was hot i'm like okay it is hot i do want to ask you this because
I saw you last year on the Beaches of Paradise.
He helped me fall in love,
even though I did break up with Thomas for a hot second.
I know.
I think I told you not to do that, but...
I know.
Hey, we got to work.
She got to where she needed to, you know?
You're getting married and I'm engaged.
But I want to ask you,
overall, what has been your favorite season of Paradise?
Ooh, that's a tough one.
Let me help you out seven.
Is that what season you were on?
That was a good one.
It was so good.
I mean, like, you fought it the entire time, which is really fun.
I know, I know.
And I remember being like,
Bex, like, you need to stop fighting.
Like, just enjoy it.
Like, that was great.
Like, the whole Ivan saga was kind of crazy.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Okay, so.
That one was pretty great.
Between Ivan or Becca.
About what?
Which exciting piece?
No.
No.
Because you can't, you can't.
Well, Ivan was way more exciting to watch.
Your one favorite piece.
one favorite piece.
Well, my favorite piece of Paradise ever was season four Paradise when like we shut down
for like the entire season because of craziness that was ensuing.
So they made me do puppetry for like half the time.
That was a wedding that happened, right?
Didn't it?
Yeah, there was a wedding there.
But yeah, it was Evan and Carly's wedding.
And I saw I just like like acted out scenes with puppets.
And I to this day think it was the greatest television I've ever made.
And I wish they would bring that back.
Maybe it'll come back this season.
Hey, there we go.
Okay.
So Wells, congratulations, because you are getting married.
Yes.
Very shortly, hopefully.
Fingers crossed.
It's all going to go to plan.
It's going to be a dirty floral theme of all he's given me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's going to be beautiful.
I'm so happy for you and Sarah.
Yeah, I can't wait.
It's going to be really fun to bring all these weird people from different parts of our lives into one room and make them all be cordial with one another.
And then also it's a weird thing.
It's really wonderful.
I got to experience a little bit on The Bachelor Party of people that you love so much coming to celebrate you and your love and, like, being champions for you.
It's a weird feeling as someone who, like, kind of shies away from, I don't like a whole lot of it.
That sounds like bullshit.
He doesn't like any attention.
I do a TV show.
He hosts a show.
He does a podcast.
But you know what I'm saying?
I feel weird about that.
And it is a really nice thing to have people that, like, you love.
And that means something, do you be happy for, like, the love that you've found?
And I'm really excited about that.
We'll soak in that love.
We're so happy for you.
Everybody grab a glass.
Cheers.
To Los and Sarah.
Well, we've had you on the podcast.
We've had Gabby now on the podcast a couple of times.
And it's like, I feel like, yeah, this is the first time I can, like, smell you.
I know what your perfume is.
You just keep talking about smelling.
I do.
I mean, hey.
I'm such a censor person, though.
Oh, hey, we're smelling.
I don't remember people since.
I know.
You're right on part.
Right on par.
I'm obsessed with goopers.
It's always my favorite part.
Who started?
Who, yeah, the armpit smelling.
Who started it?
We would always, like, smell my armpit, check my teeth, do my hair.
Like, we were all over each other the whole time.
So, I will say, watching all the armpit smelling back, as weird as it is, as it is.
I looked at Michelle and I was like, I would.
wish. I had somebody to go through this journey with me. Like, and it was so funny because we
were talking to Wells backstage as we're watching all. And he's like, no, like, I wouldn't
want anyone to like take my time with the guys. And like, you only have such a small handful
of men to meet that you'll actually click with. And I was like, but you don't get it. You
haven't like been the lead. Like having somebody with you. And the more I watch you and Gabby
together, I think it's so special. Like I now I'm kind of having FOMO. I'm like, shit. Can we
redo our seasons together and we get to do like all of our press and stuff together and we just have
so much fun yeah I think it's so easy for people to pick us apart and be like oh they deserve their
own season I'm like I wouldn't ever want one it be such a different vibe too like it would be so
different you know when you live in something like this is that's not your experience it it's you
and gabby doing this journey together and I hate to say journey but it is and like if you were
to ever redo it and not to say that you ever would but like you wouldn't even want to
want to never because it couldn't be what it was you know exactly no I truly wouldn't and I really feel
like the ultimate takeaway from this even when we're going through hard times like the Logan thing
I was able to watch it back and like me and Gabby going through this together and supporting each other
and having each other's backs like that's the ultimate takeaway and I think it's so easy for people
to take the negative but there's so much positive from it oh that was a person not miss the be
with each other and that was like the cool thing it's such a nerve-wracking situation
too it's just like when you can actually just relax as much as you can as much as you can
which is few and far between on the season on one hour of sleeve 17 like champagne's in
oh yeah I do not miss that I'll get eight only eight hours of sleep now and I'm like I heard you would
always nap because I'm like she'd be in full makeup just napping I mean out while they're doing my
liner and everything just like tapping away like doing lashes 100% yeah I can fall asleep anywhere
it adds up it does i always wanted genie to do my makeup sleeping and then she just never did because
i was too anxious all the time but i feel like it's something i have to live through at some point
one time i actually fell as i've never fallen asleep standing up i fell asleep in the chair in the chair
i'm like oh my what is my life well and that's the thing like people don't realize there's like
they see snippets of what you and gabby go through you know for two hours every monday night like
there's so much that you guys are put through like on your body on your mom
mind everything. What was like the hardest part of being one of the leads and then your
favorite part? Honestly, I feel like the hardest part is just having so many connections in these
great group of guys. You have to make these really hard decisions so quickly. And I think it's so
easy for people to look at what we do and pick our decisions apart or say we made the wrong
decision. But you really just have to trust yourself through it all. And you guys know more than
anything. These relationships are happening so quickly and you get so limited time. So ultimately I think
that was the hardest part. But I mean, the greatest part was just, I feel like we had such a great
group of men who really put us first. And I really couldn't be happier with the way it all turned
out. Good. And having that group, having that group of men and coming into tonight and knowing that
you'd be able to see them again, what are your feelings like? All your exes. Oh my gosh. You guys,
remember? I was freaking out my trailer. I was like, do I remember? I'm like, oh,
You're about to walk in there.
I'm like, this is not normal.
I almost peed my pants walking out when I came out to the mental all.
I remember watching yours.
And I was like, all your men first were like bowing down you.
And I'm like, I love that.
But I think our guys are just so supportive as well.
I was not expecting the outpour of support consistently.
And they've always been so amazing.
So it was really great.
It was hard to see some, obviously.
But amazing.
Was there one person coming into tonight that you were either looking forward to seeing?
or you are not looking forward to seeing or interacting with him.
Yeah, I think the person tonight that I was most nervous to see and excited was Tyler.
I just watched our breakup and it was hard to live, but it's harder to watch back.
And you're in that moment and reliving it.
And he's just such an incredible guy.
And to sit down with him and we were able to have a conversation and to still have him be so amazing and so supportive.
I just, I feel so lucky to have known him.
and I really just hope he gets all the love and happiness in the world.
Maybe I'm paradise, who knows?
But he's just a twinkle that in there.
Yeah, okay. Well, I know we only had one more question, but I'm going to ask one more
because I need you to tell us all about your look.
It's stunning.
When you walked out, again, we were sitting in the press room and we're all like,
oh, she is slain, a little, like, nude Kardashian look.
See through?
I know.
People, I think I'm more like of a conservative dresser.
And this season, people have, you know, been able to see that.
I mean, Carrie, like, what if we do a see-through moment?
Yes.
It looks so good.
You look stunning.
Carrie Fatman special.
I love it.
You look great.
From the jewelry to the shoes.
It's so lovely.
It's so amazing.
Thank you guys for having me.
Rachel, thank you.
I don't want you leave either.
We will, yeah, no, we will.
We don't need the other guys.
Let's just keep the girls on.
Next up, we have Tyler.
Hey, how we doing?
You drew some tears tonight.
For me?
No, well, from the audience.
Sure, did.
From watching that sad goodbye.
It really was, though.
How are you feeling after watching it all replay once again?
You know, watching the season back, definitely got closure, like, seeing where Rachel was in a relationship with the other guys and understanding why, ultimately, what had happened happened.
There's not a thing I would have changed.
You know, I went in with it with a full heart, like, ready to put my whole self.
out there for somebody and I was ready for a relationship and I met an amazing woman
had great experiences with her watching it ends watching the rise and the fall of my
relationship you know you definitely bring up like old emotions and yeah it was it was
definitely tough but you know something that I was prepared for and you know like I said
there's just nothing that I would change about it so everything worked out the way that it
was supposed to good I want to ask you because
Because you admitted something tonight, and that's the fact that you slid into Rachel's DMs.
Take us back.
I need a timeline here.
When did that happen?
And do you remember what you said?
Yes.
So what had happened was the only season that I watched, like every single episode, was Clayton's season.
And I remember so sorry.
The first episode, I remember seeing Rachel get out of limo and I was just like, this girl's beautiful.
Wow.
the next episode came on and I was drinking a lot
I was absolutely hammered and I was just like
why not just DM her
oh like episode two
episode two I went just shots fired why not
and I said hey
things don't work out with Clayton and you ever end up
as a bachelorette sign me up because I literally
I think you're literally gorgeous shut up
yeah did the producers know this
that's kind of manifesting so
at its best that had happened and then a week
later I get a random call from LA and they said hey like we're casting producers from the
Bachelorette would you be interested in the show and I'm like no seriously like who is this
and one of my friends girlfriend had nominated me for the show and I got a call like randomly
out of nowhere so I had nothing to do with like Rachel pushing that message to anybody else
well she probably didn't ever know she was going to be Bachelorette at that point when he DM'd her
at that point yeah that's true oh wow okay wait so did she just put you on red
so I couldn't I didn't see because we weren't friends so you can't see red or not um so I don't know how well I'm assuming you talked about this on the show right oh yeah okay okay
I'm like can you imagine this is the first time this comes out this is a secret I'm like this is kind of like psychopath I know right
I don't know what's going down now well that's the thing like when I went on like you know obviously I want to have an open mind because you know you see somebody on a show right and you're
hoping that they're like the way that they were on the show so i just went in going like all right
we'll see how it goes you know obviously i think this girl's gorgeous you know is her personality
the exact like same person that i saw and she was everything and more and just like getting to know her
even more like getting to know like all the amazing qualities about her it was just like wow like
not only did i have a crush on her before but now my crush is like even more just because i actually
got to know her and she was just everything you could ask for in somebody i'm trying to think
Like, if I was in your position and say I did that, like,
something to some random person's DMs, like shooting my shot,
but like a far shot, the fact that all came to fruition,
did you just feel like you were living in a dream while filming?
Yeah.
He's like, I told you.
I walked up.
I was in the limo.
I was looking out and, like, I saw Gabby and Rachel.
I was just like, oh, no.
She's like, this is happening right now.
And you get out of the limo and you just black out.
And you just walk out.
And I thank God they didn't show my entrance.
when i walked up oh yeah it was i did the uncut gems thing no uncut jobs no you didn't
never see that the tictock thing so you woke up it was the uh whoever the actress is from
uncut gems with adam stanler and she had like an interview where she goes i felt like his muse
and like i was his uncut jump so i thought you know what why not call both of the women
uncut gems maybe they'll catch on to it they called on they did catch on they laughed they laughed okay
knew they have a reference i would have just walked right back until i would have been like take me home
the new jersey please oh okay so you with all that hearing all this stuff that happened with rachel
sliding into the dms this whole entire story did you feel like it was fate at that point and then
you know when your journey does come to the end was that really hard to accept and process um
you know going into the journey you know the accepting part like i you know what you're putting
yourself into like it's not just you you know i you don't in the real world you don't date somebody who's
dating 30 some other guys at the same time so your chances of you ending up with you know the bachelor
at the end of day you're slim you know like you just go into it with the mindset hopefully it's me
if it's not me then it's not and you know when everything had happened and it ended the way that it did
like i just knew because i made such good relationships with the guys like knowing that she was ultimately
was going to end up with somebody so amazing like that's all you want for at the end of the day
if it's not you hopefully it's somebody that you know will give her the respect and make her feel
like the only girl like in the world and the rest of the guys you know I just knew that she had that
so I was okay with it you know I understood you know as things unfold sometimes it's really hard
to just accept that yeah I yeah I think it's definitely it's definitely tough but you know
it comes out in the mindset that you had and I just knew that you know if it's not me
it's going to be somebody else and yeah she's going to get everything she wants
I have a feeling this isn't the last we see of you, Mr. Tyler.
Oh, yeah.
We'll see.
Hey, you guys never want me on again.
I'll be here.
I mean, we did see a pretty in-depth trailer of Paradise today, a little teaser.
So maybe we will have you on Bachelor Haphton our Happy Hour again.
I'm hoping so.
I hope so.
I've had so much fun.
Well, thank you for coming.
We've had fun, too.
So thank you for entertaining us this past season.
Absolutely.
No problem.
Okay, Logan.
Thank you for coming to Bachelor Happy Hour.
I have to say I'm a little bit upset.
You don't have two chicks in your hands.
Right.
You did not come prepared.
They could make it.
I'm actually surprised.
I feel like there's always like some sort of prop.
I mean, we had the marinara sauce,
but I'm surprised that they didn't bring the chicks today.
Yeah, I think prop comedy might may not have played well on the hot seat,
you know, maybe.
Hey, it would have to bring things a little more bearable.
You didn't have to bring them on.
You just had to bring them with you for the interview.
And Beck and I would have just held them and played with them.
pull some out of his pocket.
I'm just like
defending myself on all these.
Two chicks, two chicks.
No, okay, we obviously
love to joke and just give everyone shit.
But realistically, like, mindset now,
after mental all is done,
you've seen the women, you've seen the men,
how are you feeling?
You know what?
I feel good.
Obviously, there's like a lot of tough questions
and there's a lot of tension.
And I don't blame people
for having questions.
I think if I were in the shoes of some of my friends or in the shoes of the women, I would have questions too.
So it was a relief to be able to kind of express where I was coming from and to be able to, I wanted to get across the sentiment that like I'm still learning.
And there were things that I would do differently.
But at the end of the day, I came from a place of, you know, honesty.
And I was, my heart was in the right place.
That's what I wanted to get across.
And, you know, I think a couple people saw that.
Maybe not everybody, but, yeah, I feel good about today.
Yeah.
Well, in the grand scheme of things, and Michelle and I have talked about this,
like the whole switcheroo that you did, you know, that caused quote unquote drama.
That wasn't even that much drama.
Let's be honest.
I don't think the issue necessarily was like the switch,
but more so like the time frame and the timing of, you know,
accepting Rachel's roses for three weeks.
bring us back to like when you were filming what was your mindset did you did you just want to
make sure you knew that you wanted to see how things were with gabby or was it just kind of like
allotted with i mean we all know the travel schedule or whatever it might be it's a great
great question um you know that first night at them at their mansion when i was selected from
the speedo competition to go hang out with them um obviously i had time with both them and we both
shared you know a kiss and really good conversation and I I did feel at that point like the
connection with with Gabby like moved me and that it was it was palpable it was heavy to me
and it felt strong but I I did have a great conversation with Rachel and I did feel attracted to
her and when she offered me the rose I thought maybe this is a relationship that will take time
Maybe there's something here that I haven't quite found.
Maybe she takes longer to open up.
Maybe there's a spark that all it takes is a date,
and all of a sudden, I will see something that's not there yet.
And you know what?
Looking back, I should have spoke my feelings right then and there
when she offered me the rose.
But I decided, you know what, it's still early.
I'm going to see if maybe this turns into something.
Maybe my feelings will change.
Maybe their feelings will change.
And you just can't think like that in these environments because the circumstances change so quick.
And I wasn't able to have a one-on-one conversation with them uninterrupted for another two and a half weeks after that.
And so, yeah, looking back, you know what, after I was offered that rose, I would have said I'm honored and I'm flattered and I'm so open to exploring things.
but to be honest with you, my connection with Gabby felt really moving,
and I thought I was going to get a rose from her.
That's what I would have liked to have done, but obviously that's hindsight, you know.
As you're watching all of this back and you're watching their emotions,
you're kind of rethinking about how you navigated the entire situation.
How are you feeling about speaking with both Gabby and Rachel going into mental all
and kind of having to explain that?
Yeah. I think I'm on very different in very different places with each of them.
They hold a strong friendship, obviously, so there's a level of support that they have for each other.
I think the fact that Gabby welcomed me in and saw something worth exploring,
we're maybe in a little bit of a better place right now than that of me and Rachel.
um i want rachel to know how like i see how difficult her journey was and i hate that i
contributed to that difficulty but she's like so strong and she's gotten through it and
you know she doesn't need me to keep apologizing i think she's kind of tired of me talking about it
probably and i don't i don't blame her um but yeah certain things just
you know take a little time i don't i don't think either of them have harsh feelings toward me but
maybe he's a little tender you know yeah well and so speaking of time i have a feeling that this is
not the last time we see you on our tv screens we obviously did see a little sprinkling of
paradise in the teaser tonight is there anything i don't even like want to give it
I'm just going to ask this, what can we expect from that?
I break down the walls a little bit in Paradise.
I, yeah, show a little bit more emotion.
I'm kind of like a stoic guy sometimes, and I break it down a little bit on the beach.
Yeah, I feel things very deeply over there in Paradise, and sometimes that's a good thing.
things. Sometimes it hurts a little bit, but yeah, I'm excited to watch it back.
I mean, hey, from what we say now, it's going to be a wild ride. I can't wait. I mean,
everyone kept saying it was supposed to be shocking. So I hope it lives up to the hype. But
Logan, thank you for joining us. I know that there's probably so much we could have covered
and talked about and asked you, but obviously time is limited. But again, if we do see you on the
screen, I'm sure this is not the last time we'll see you on Happy Hour. No, I hope not. You
guys are great. Well, thank you, Logan.
oh my gosh Michelle this is well this is the second time we've done this in person together I'm so glad that we could be in studio and that was fun just talking to multiple people switching it up getting multiple sides of every story really this is your first hell that you've done yes actually yes you know that now that you say that it is and it's like the first time interviewing other people in person but it's also such an emotional night because so many things happen with mental all or at any of
these tell-alls and it's like you walk you go in having these thoughts of what you wanted to talk about
and then you get closer or maybe not closure so I feel like there's like a lot of emotions but it's
overall positive all over the place you I mean and here's the thing like we want to talk to everyone
about all of the drama about all of the emotion and feeling and like the end of a lot of
relationships and we just simply can't get into the nitty gritty but I'm sure we'll see more
unfold as the season goes on but this was so much fun I'm so glad that
that we could be here together.
So thank you, Michelle.
Thanks to both of the girls and all of the guys that we had on today.
