Starting point is 00:02:49 Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back to natural happy hour. I'm Charity. And I'm Rachel. We have a very exciting episode today. It's going to be super fun. And before we get into that, we're just going to, like, have some little girl chat. I'm headed to Lala this weekend.
Starting point is 00:03:14 I'm really sad because Rachel was supposed to be going with me and she's no longer coming. But it's okay, neither here nor there. I'm going to update you guys while I'm there. And it's going to be fun. And we'll do it again, right, Rachel? Yes, we have to because we came up with a really good idea. We want to do Bachelor Happy Hour. in the wild so hopefully one day we'll be able to bring this to fruition but i'm so excited for you to go to la la la who are you most excited to see olivia dean you know i'm like transitioning like out of my true festival days of like where i'm like hardcore but like the fact that olivia dean is performing and i have not seen her live yet is going to transform my life for the better so i'm so excited about
Starting point is 00:03:56 that um there is this like british u k artists that i didn't even know she was performing at Lala her name's jade um if you guys know who she is shout out but if not look her up like i don't know there was something that my spotify incorporated her into like the shuffle one day and i never knew about her and i was like wait i kind of like her and then i just went on this deep dive and i became like a fan so i'm excited to see her too um but yeah that's those are like my top too it's gonna be just a low key but very fun nothing's really low key with me and dot but i know who else is going to be there, like, in your group? Is Sean still going? Um, I don't think so. Last that I know, but if he does pop up, I wouldn't be surprised. Like, I, Sean is always down for a
Starting point is 00:04:40 fun, good time, so he's more than welcome. Um, I know Alex and Andrew will be there for sure. Obviously, Alex, well, Andrew lives in Chicago. Um, I think Greg is going. I've been seeing some of their post gearing up for Lala. So I'm like, okay, be cute. We'll, we'll see he'll run into. you'll have to let me know all the tea i'm so excited to hear about it as you know i do not frequent the music festival scene what i have to drag you no when we couldn't go to la la la i was like darn it oh dang no rachel's like i love this for me but i'm curious what is the prep for la la la and how is it different than say a cochella or a stage coach prep oh i mean i feel like in a in a way the prep is still the same. It's like, okay, what am I wearing, like, gearing up your outfits and it needs to be
Starting point is 00:05:33 kind of like festival-coded. However, there is just so much more hype around Coachella and Stagecoach. Obviously, two different types of festival, like stagecoach is country music focus. Coachella is just, it's like the Met Gallifur influencers. So it is very different in that sense. I do feel like Lala, this is my first time going to Lala, so I don't really know what to expect, but I know I've seen rumblings and I've seen like obviously I have friends who've gone and done it and it's similar. Like it's a festival's a festival. So I do just think that there's like more hype with the other two festivals and that's literally like especially in Bachelor World. It's like we are known for attending these and not skipping out.
Starting point is 00:06:16 But I am like very excited for Lala because I'm like I do think that it might be a little bit more chiller. I do know, unfortunately, no shade to the young folks, but it is a younger crowd. So that part of it, I'm like, oh, we'll see how this goes. And that might be very interesting with, you know, our jinseers and the younger ones. But hey, I'm just here for a good time, not a long time. So, yeah. I'm curious too, because your outfits are always amazing. When you go to a festival, do you work with a stylist or is that all you?
Starting point is 00:06:51 So this past year for Coachella, I worked with a stylist. but every other time it's always been me. So I'm like, I do think that I have it in me. It's just a matter of like having the eye for just really eclectic things, I should say, or just things that are not what I would normally wear on my day-to-day basis. And I'm getting more comfortable with that. It's just hard sometimes with like pairing accessories or just like stepping outside of your like comfort zone, like I said, and, you know, doing a fun hat and scarf and somehow making it look cohesive.
Starting point is 00:07:25 in making sense. That is just not me. It's like I need to like look polished and put together. But a festival is kind of like your opportunity to play with the art. So I'm getting more fun and good at it. You always look incredible. And I'm sure there's so many vintage shops in New York that have everything you can need. Which is so great for that.
Starting point is 00:07:44 So I always say thrift your outfits. You don't need to buy something new. Yes. Yes, absolutely. Okay. Well, today we are going to do something actually pretty fun. Charity and I are going to play a little behind the scenes photo deep dive. Our producer is going to show us a photo from our time either on Bachelor, Bachelorette, Paradise,
Starting point is 00:08:07 and we are going to give you guys the behind the scenes. I'm nervous because I have no idea what photos are about to pop up. Zero idea. No preparation at all. And for those who are listening on audio, you can head over to Bachelor Happy Hours Instagram. we will have a photo dump of all these pictures so you can follow along and we will do our best to describe them to you here we go our very best i'm terrified i'm so scared to see like the evolution of my eyebrows changing no it's literally i'm like i don't know what i looked like i can't handle it my my like pulse charity i hope it's you oh okay this is so cute
Starting point is 00:08:56 Okay. So this is a picture and it is of me and Gabby outside of the mansion. And I have on slippers. We both have on blankets. I think they are. I feel like this picture had to have been taken after night one. I don't. That is what outside looks like after we get done with the rose ceremony.
Starting point is 00:09:23 You know it's so funny. And it's like, this is not even a picture of me. But because it's like, I'm like, the mansion, like is in the background. You guys, like, it's so, like, also Carrie Fetman coated. I can smell what this picture smells like. I know that sounds crazy, but like in a good way. She's like you both stink. We do.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Like, in the, in the way of, like, what night one smells like, it's like at that time in the morning. It's also like, you know, you're not like, you're not like, you're not. Sinky, but like you have your fragrance still there. And it's like it's slowly wearing off, but you're also like, you wreak of champagne. And it's like, it's just there's like a crispness in the air. Like it is so bachelor. Like someone needs to make a Bachelor night one candle. Is that what I need to do?
Starting point is 00:10:10 It'll be, yeah, steel champagne, a listerine strip. Yeah. And hangover. Wow, that is so crazy. Yeah. And we have the ugs that they have off in the corner for us in between limos. we'll go and put our feet in these slippers because your feet are freezing from standing on the wet driveway.
Starting point is 00:10:32 What a throwback picture. Oh, my gosh. I loved Gabby's dress. The blue looks so good on her. I love both of y'all's dresses. Fire. Carried it so good. You're next.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Okay. My turn, I guess. Okay. Oh, this is a cute one, though. Okay. Okay. For those who are listening. this picture that I am looking at is of me and Jesse Palmer and this is as I am getting told
Starting point is 00:11:05 or really live reacting to the news that I just found out that I'm going to be the next bachelorette. This is after our reunion, so women tell all. And I'm literally like gasping, covering my face, cannot believe it. Jesse's like, hey, it's happening. this is a very sweet picture honestly um des is somewhere in the corner i was going to say where is des and do you have this picture on your phone because i feel like you need to frame this i know i have so many pictures i don't think i had one with jesse so this is this is good to know and good to have but yeah i'm like a lot of emotions come up like in a good way it's just it's so crazy that this
Starting point is 00:11:51 feels like it was forever ago but also so recent but truly, I think the night that my life changed for the better. I basically, when I got brought back to this room, I was under the impression the entire time that I was playing this game. Well, let me tell you all this. I am someone who really kind of just goes with the flow and I don't really question a lot, especially like in an environment like this where everything's still kind of new. We're like, this is my first time filming a reunion of some sort. So I didn't know what to expect. So I was like, okay, yeah, like I'm going to go do social. Somehow I'm the only girl going to go do social, but I did not question it. I was like, I think they just have to go one at a time. And I have
Starting point is 00:12:30 like, cat and Jess in my ear, where are you going? Why are we not going? So it's, it's crazy. But I get up to this room and our producer, our producer Katie actually, is there waiting for me. And she basically is stalling time for me not to question even more like what's going on, where is the game? Who am I playing the game with? And she tells me a ridiculous story, a story so ridiculous that I was like, this woman can't be lying to me because it's crazy, but it's also, there's no way that this is true. And then in comes Jesse Palmer and I'm going with the flow of the game, this or that. And then at the very end, he goes, Bachelor in Paradise or Bachelorette. And it was, it was already decided for me that Charity Lawson was not stepping
Starting point is 00:13:16 foot on the beach. So I was like, Bachelor. I was going to ask, Would you like ever in another alternate universe have done Paradise if Bachelorette never came along? If I was so young, if I was like a lot younger, I just knew I like, I couldn't take it serious. And I don't mean that to say like obviously people have found love on there, but it's just like not the environment. Like if I was 23, 24, yeah, I would have like had the time of my life on Paradise. But I was like so committed to like, I need to find just one person for me and this is my person. We're going to build a life. And I was like, Bachelorette, duh.
Starting point is 00:13:49 So obviously. Obviously. No, this is a very sweet picture. I actually need you to send it to me, Katie. Thank you. Oh, amazing. Well, even better. Jesse?
Starting point is 00:14:07 Yes. Yeah. This is great. Okay. I love this picture. This is a picture of me and Jill Chin on the floor in our room in the mansion. and this is a picture showing how the conditions living in the mansion can sometimes be. There are suitcases everywhere.
Starting point is 00:14:41 There is blankets being made into a fort so people could sleep. There is makeup all over the floor. And actually, I love this because I can see what makeup I was using back in the day. I can see a Jacqueline Hill highlighter on the floor. I'm doing a full bake. And I feel like I might have to. to bring this back. Jill is also fully in her rose ceremony, hair, outfit, makeup. Already done? Just starting this process. I also see y'all's like your little portable mirror.
Starting point is 00:15:14 That was like essential. I did not pack one when I was in the mansion. I feel like. I thought we had space. Not only do we not have space. There's not enough mirrors or lighting. There's nowhere for girls to get ready. It's crazy. Especially on days when we're all getting ready at the same time. Like a rose ceremony. day. But yes, my bags would have been fully packed in the back because I was always convinced I was going home, as anyone will tell you. I forget we had to do that. That's insane. I forget we had to pack our bags before. Yes. Yes. And I have triple these. So that is definitely a throwback photo. And oh, I could see my mic pack as well because we're always wearing our mics. I love this picture. This is so cute. I love Jill. I love this. I'm like, you guys, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:15:59 Jill looks exactly the same. It's insane. She does. I mean, it's exactly the same. So beautiful. Like gourd. Oh my gosh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I'm screaming at all of these. Is that Kylie? No, this is, again, another unsurious moment. Probably number two. If not number one. I'm trying to think of number one. But this is definitely top five most unsirious moments of my life. Y'all having me out there playing actual tackle football, craziness.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Like, actually, I could. I couldn't believe it. And if you go and watch our episode, honestly, I have a confession to me. I don't know how I got the group date, Rose. The newest tracks. Let's go. New music. And the next big thing. Always on the new music first. Your first place to hear it all.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Because you're going to like it, love, who want to play it twice. Playing now. I heart new music. Your digital station for brand new drops, fresh vines, and tomorrow's bangers. I think we need something new. IHart new music. Always fresh, always first. Stream now on the free IHartRadio app. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Hey, what's up y'all? It's your girl, Sam J. And we're the host of everyone watches women's sports, a new podcast from Together and IHart Women's Sports. Because let's be real. Women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. So Kelsey Finler, she became the first female solo roer to go from California to Hawaii. My first thought is, like, what's up with the snacks? Like, what are we eating? The highlights, the rivalries, the breakout stars, the moments that take over your entire timeline.
Starting point is 00:17:41 And the conversations that start during the game and somehow keep going all week. Every week, we're breaking down the biggest stories across women's sports. Naomi Osaka showing out, she beat Sabalinka. Shout out to you, Naomi. You get the palm, Naomi. You get the palm for that. Because we're not just interested in what happened. We're interested in why everyone's talking about it.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports. On the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, Portlandia fans. Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen here. You know us, or rather, you know them. Tony and Candace, Nina and Lance, Spike, and yes, the chicken. We've played a lot of iconic characters over the years,
Starting point is 00:18:23 but today we're showing up as ourselves to tell you about Podlandia, AEO rewatch, our brand new podcast. Each week, we'll revisit an episode of Portlandia from the very beginning. Breaking down the sketches, exploring the backstories of our most iconic characters, revisiting the Portland locations you know and love, and opening up about our creative process. How did any of this get made? Why do we think that was a good idea?
Starting point is 00:18:46 We're ready to talk about it. And we'll also be joined by the people who helped bring it all to life. Guest stars, collaborators, and friends, including director Jonathan Chrysler, the mayor himself, Kyle McLaughlin, legendary musician Amy Mann, and many more. Kyle is going for it here. Are you fully improvised, not just words, but a song, a melody? I thought he was going to write.
Starting point is 00:19:06 I thought you're all going to write a song. I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia. Ayo, rewatch on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook. Every episode we're trying to help our guests improve their careers by mainly focusing
Starting point is 00:19:27 on how they can help us improve our careers. The show is famously super accessible so you can easily judge. jump in any of our 650 episodes and understand what's going on. We recommend some of our recent episodes with Ben Stillard. The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anywhere, too, right? What do you think it is now? It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology. Danny McBride.
Starting point is 00:19:50 He loves Nova. Oh, that's fantastic. And you make it on, you make your own. That's great. I call him Terro Reed. It's a good name. They're all named after cast members of American Pie. Oh, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachie Sobieski. I don't think she was an American pie, but I still like that. Haven't looked it up. She was prominent around the same time. Then Mary Steenbergin. Why are you guys talking to me? I'm worried. Why are you talking so down to me that you think I don't understand your little play game?
Starting point is 00:20:25 I just really, I get it. I'm trying to set you up for success here. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nick Tatoro. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, The Longest Yard, or Spike Lease Black Klansman.
Starting point is 00:20:40 But I'm also from Queens, which means I know pizza. And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Titoro, I deliver pizza from Prince Street pizza to a new guest. Are you delivering pizza now? Then we sit down for a real conversation. I've shared a slice with everyone,
Starting point is 00:20:55 from Seth Rollins. What are you doing, my belt? To Alex Rodriguez. Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. to Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Tituro.
Starting point is 00:21:12 It's called Happiness. Delivering Happiness. Mariano Rivera. Oh my God. And many, many more. Open your free high-heart radio app. Search Delivering Happiness with Nick Titoro. And listen now.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Okay, the photo that I'm looking at is of me and Kylie. So this is from our bachelor season together. Um, season 27, I believe. And this was our group date. This was the actual football, like not flag football, but tackle football. We are dressed fully padded out. Oh, the bachelor bowl. How could I forget the actual title of it? Um, yeah, I was genuinely terrified for this day. I'm not going to lie because I didn't want to get tackled. I knew I was like, okay, I'm quick. I'm fast. Like, I'm small, petite. Throw me the ball, let me run, but don't tackle me. Like, I didn't want to get tackled. And I knew I was like, okay, I'm quick. I'm fast. Like, like, I'm small, petite. Throw me. Throw me. Like, I certainly didn't want to do the tackling. So, yeah, this was just a very interesting date. But I will say I did have one phenomenal tackle. I mean, grass all in the nostrils. Like, I was in there.
Starting point is 00:22:18 And I think that's what Zach saw in order for me to get the group date rows. Because the other hours and segments of that day, I was just running around like a lost little puppy. Was anyone on this date going super hard? Oh Who do you think? Yes Christina Mandrill
Starting point is 00:22:38 Like she would not let it down That she was the number one football star And I was like girl sister you got it As long as if I'm on the same team Win for us truly I am a I have good sportsmanship Like I am a team Like I will root you on forever
Starting point is 00:22:54 So yeah She was doing the absolute most that day And it didn't end at the football Bachelor Bowl to the night, but we won't talk about that. All is well now in 2026, but this was a crazy date.
Starting point is 00:23:10 This is a crazy date. Like, I literally was, I think I'm in like juniors extra large. Like I'm in like a boys XXL. Like everyone else was like size medium. I'm like, no, these don't fit me. Okay. Next photo.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Oh my gosh. Okay. This is a photo for my very first one-on-one day on my season. I was with Jordan V and we got to do zero gravity. And it was the coolest experience of my entire life. We got to go up in this plane and we were just like floating around in midair. It was amazing.
Starting point is 00:23:51 I'm so glad I got to do this. However, I will say there is something about this experience that completely just drains your energy. And on the way down, everyone was asleep. the camera people were asleep, the mic people were asleep, producers, and we were going into the night. And I remember we were just like, wait, really? Oh my gosh. Yes. And it was kind of not a great environment to get to know someone also.
Starting point is 00:24:22 So me and Jordan have always said that our first 101 date, it just wasn't the best environment to get to know someone. So, yes, me and Jordan have talked about this date. A lot of fun, not good to get to know someone, but a great experience. Is it just because you're like, it's impossible to talk like what you're like trying to like, you know. Yes. And they wanted. Yeah, you can be like, okay, so.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I don't think we talked really at all. And they wanted certain shots. So we didn't even really get to enjoy the moment because they were like, do this. Now you have to do this. Okay. Now kiss. And we were like. What?
Starting point is 00:25:01 Okay. And it was just a lot at once. I was so overwhelmed, but it was actually so amazing. I remember watching that date and I was like, oh, this is so cute. I was like, I really like this. Yes, they definitely tailored that date to me because I remember they came to me and Gabby and they said, first date, Rachel, you're going in a plane. Gabby, you're going in the hot tub with champagne.
Starting point is 00:25:24 And I was like, this makes sense. They do listen to us. Good time. Okay. Do we have more? Oh, well, this is both of us. Both of us and Gabby. Oh, my God, charity.
Starting point is 00:25:40 Wait, I know, why am I looking at it? I'm like, Gabby must have said something absolutely crazy because I'm like looking at her like so crazy. She was being so funny on this date. I remember. Like, truly. Dying. She does not hold back. Okay, so this picture is from my season of The Bachelorette, the longest kiss date, where Rachel and Gabby came back in.
Starting point is 00:26:03 co-host at the date. So I was so happy to see them. I was like, oh, another girl, another bachelor's like I can ask them. I'm freaking out still. Like, it's still very like early on in like the journey in the process. Yeah, I want to say this is our first time that we met. I believe so. Yeah. I think so. Yeah. I remember the first time I saw you, Charity. I was like, this is the teeniest person I've ever seen. I felt like I could pick you. up and put you in my pocket. On your shoulder, Lizzie McGuire. Literally, you were so excited.
Starting point is 00:26:38 And I remember we were all like drinking champagne. And you were just so in it. And I remember being like, oh my gosh, you are such a good pick for Bachelorette because you could just tell that you were just ready to get to another guys, didn't care about the cameras. And I was so impressed by you this day. Oh. I will say, though.
Starting point is 00:26:57 You guys made it easier for me because I was like, I felt so comfortable around y'all. someone on this date did give me the ick and I will never have I told you who I know you have to no come on come on come on right now no because I will get canceled and I think I know now yeah okay I'm literally dying I'll say the day of it was Joey Gras today and he gave me the ick because everyone was saying their most uh what was it they're like perfect kiss they were like describing their perfect kiss and everyone was just like talking about kiss and he you started describing you and how it was perfect as it would be with you and I'm like it was giving I'm trying to win the day yeah yeah yeah just because he was the only one that did something
Starting point is 00:27:42 different and I was like I don't know but then everyone it was like oh that was so cute I was like oh what did you think of it at the time well honestly it didn't it really didn't register for me that he was talking about me until I think one of you guys pointed it out I was just like oh I'm like, what a cute girl. I'm like, yeah. No, I'm being so for real. And then I was like, oh, and then I was like, oh. And then of course.
Starting point is 00:28:07 And I'm like, I'm in front of a crowd. I definitely feel like flattered. So I'm like, wait, that was cute. I'm not connecting the dots that, oh, maybe there's a little birdie in his ear. Maybe he came up with on his own. I have no idea. Didn't know the guy enough to even give him that much credit. So I was like, okay, I'm taking this.
Starting point is 00:28:22 I was like, let's just kiss. But it definitely was. I'm laughing so much because. we're all just staring. No, I literally was like, okay, I just have to lock in, but I was like, this is going to be a long time. And I'm like, the way they made the boys line up, I said, this is diabolical behavior. Like, lining up to watch. If that was me, granted, if I was someone on the other end of it, okay, line me up.
Starting point is 00:28:51 And this is me the whole time. Like, you know what I mean? Why are we, like, why are your eyes still open? Close them. No, literally. I never understood it. But very cute day, very cute. First meet and greet with you guys.
Starting point is 00:29:05 It was lovely and we looked good. Oh, period. This is so cute. This is so cute. This is so cute. This is, I want to say night one. Yep, definitely night one. You look so beautiful.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Oh my God. I like can't. I like. That color on you as well. It's like always bringing so much. No, I love. I still have the robe to that. um okay this is night one i believe of me and of course this is a shout out to carry fatman
Starting point is 00:29:36 and all of the amazing jewelers that we work with during our season but i'm basically just showcasing my handful of diamonds and manifesting that you know one's going to end up on that ring finger at the end of all this so it did charity carry loves to have us to have us dripping in diamonds. How much money do you think you are wearing on your rings in this picture? I honestly can't even tell you because I'm like, I know for a fact, I'm like looking in,
Starting point is 00:30:10 hold on me expand the photo. The one on my left hand, that is like my ring and my middle finger, I want to say that I honestly don't know, but I will say probably well over like, we sent in the high 100,000. 100,000s, well over that. I was terrified to wear this jewelry always because the fear of God was like placed in me
Starting point is 00:30:42 if I ever lost it. And that goes to show you that they're very, very, very, very pricey. Very pricey and very beautiful. This isn't costume jewelry. This is not costume jewelry. No, those are just stunning. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Yes. Okay. This is a picture. of me and I was in Paradise doing pre-night one or pre-day-one filming and me and one of our producers were joking around and he was like okay you have to do the stare-cry which I also did in my season of The Bachelor which people don't know this but I was doing it to hide my face because I was in the middle of a opera hall with cameras all around me and the only place that I could not, that I could hide was in my arm.
Starting point is 00:31:36 And so we recreated it here. Iconic. And hey, you know, that season of Paradise went just as well as my bachelor season. So maybe I should stop doing that. That might be the last time. Honestly, like, do you understand that you are known for that? Like, what an honor, truly. And it really just is because I was trying to hide and my producer was outside.
Starting point is 00:32:00 and Gabby's producer was upstairs. So, you know, thank God for my producer being outside during that moment. This is great. I love it. Stere Cry lives on forever. No, my honey. That dress. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:32:20 It's stunning. I still have that dress and it's never going anywhere. It's also so expensive. And Carrie did inform me that I probably had one of the most expensive finale dress. and as I should. Okay. The photo that we are looking at is of me and my honey dot. This is before we are announced as a public couple, which is crazy that to even, like,
Starting point is 00:32:49 I feel what this picture is translating that moment. Like I was probably just saying, okay, like this is it. Like, it all ends here. And like as much as we want to be public, there is just something so pure about like the season of when you're in hiding and you can't be like seen. It's just you too. Like nothing else matters. And I think we were having the realization that, okay, like now here our like journey really does begin and kind of saying goodbye to it in a sense. There's a little bit of like, I can say grief like you're grieving that that season's over with.
Starting point is 00:33:28 but we were equally so excited at the same time. So it is a weird, like, two feelings happening. But just giving him some words of wisdom and I'm wearing this amazing crystal dress that I begged Carrie, I needed to wear, and he made it happen because I was not wearing anything else. And Dot looked so good in his suit. This was, like, truly, like, the most perfect.
Starting point is 00:33:51 For me, most perfect finale. I didn't care. I was like, I just want to be done with this and be with my... hubby. This really was your last moments before the entire world found out because yeah I want to double check weren't you guys spotted or were you guys spotted before we weren't spotted but they were trying to crack the code they definitely were like yes they're not spotted you were spotted no no no no no no we were not no no no we were not but there was never picture evidence of me and no there was no silhouettes there was
Starting point is 00:34:27 nothing. It was it was it was the sleuthers they had piece they had piece together that I took a picture of my like cocktail I think and then dot in place I mean he took a picture and posted of his like plate and it they matched the dishes together yeah so it was yeah it was on us however did you guys go out in public no we didn't Rachel. See I I don't know these things because I didn't get to have an engagement. Why would you suggest that? I love hearing the stories about Hannah G. and Dylan going out in wigs. Because I'm like, that's so fun to run around and have no one know yet.
Starting point is 00:35:12 And then this moment you guys are about to fully embrace each other as a couple for the first time publicly. For the first time. Which is crazy because Dot was so convinced. And I'm like, you don't understand. I was like, baby boy, you don't watch reality TV. he was very convinced that this is New York no one's and I'm like that that is if not that's the part of the problem it is New York I'm like we could do this in like Idaho somewhere but I'm like not in New York City not in the fact that he's also so tall
Starting point is 00:35:41 I'm like you're yeah you don't you can't wear a wig people still are going to look at you like look at you strange and then eventually piece two and two together so yeah it was very hard but we managed. So a very sweet moment. I love that picture. Do you ever think about a random pop culture moment? Like something that dominated the culture and then quietly disappeared?
Starting point is 00:36:08 We do constantly. This is Bestie Listen. Every week we revisit the most niche corners of pop culture. The stuff that shaped us, or better or worse. And ask, what was that? And more importantly, why do we love it? We celebrate it. We question it.
Starting point is 00:36:23 And give it the level of analysis it absolutely did not ask for. Stream best you listen on IHeart Radio, crave, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist, Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y'all? It's your girl, Sam J. And we're the host of everyone watches women's sports, a new podcast from Together and I Heart Women's Sports.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Because let's be real. Women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. So Kelsey Finler, she became the first female solo rower to go from California to Hawaii. My first thought is, like, what's up with the snacks? Like, what are we eating? The highlights, the rivalries, the breakout stars, the moments that take over your entire timeline. And the conversations that start during the game and somehow keep going all week. Every week, we're breaking down the biggest stories across women's sports.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Naomi Osaka, showing out, she beat Sabalinka. Shout out to you, Naomi. You get the palm, Naomi. You get the palm for that. Because we're not just interested in what happened. We're interested in why everyone's talking about it. Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports.
Starting point is 00:37:26 On the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, Portlandia fans. Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen here. You know us, or rather, you know them. Tony and Candice, Nina and Lance, Spike, and yes, the chicken. We've played a lot of iconic characters over the years, but today we're showing up as ourselves to tell you about Podlandia, AEO, rewatch, our brand new podcast.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Each week, we'll revisit an episode of Portlandia from the very beginning. Breaking down the sketches, exploring the backstories of our most iconic characters, revisiting the Portland locations you know and love, and opening up about our creative process. How did any of this get made? Why do we think that was a good idea? We're ready to talk about it. And we'll also be joined by the people who helped bring it all to life. Guest stars, collaborators, and friends, including director Jonathan Chrysall,
Starting point is 00:38:16 the mayor himself, Kyle McLaughlin, legendary musician Amy Mann, and many more. Kyle is going for it here. You fully improvised, not just words, but a song. Well, I thought he was going to write. I thought you're all going to write a song. I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia. Ayo, rewatch on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook. Every episode we're trying to help our guests improve their careers by mainly focusing on how they can help us improve our careers. The show is famously super accessible so you can easily just. jump in any of our 650 episodes and understand what's going on. We recommend some of our recent episodes with Ben Stiller.
Starting point is 00:39:00 The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anyway, too, right? What do you think it is now? It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology. Danny McBride. He loves Nova. Oh, that's fantastic. And you make it on, you make your own. That's great.
Starting point is 00:39:16 I call him Terro Reed. It's a good name. They're all named after cast members of American Pie. Oh, gotcha. I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachie Sobieski. Yeah, I don't think she was an American pie, but I still like that. Haven't looked it up. Haven't looked it up.
Starting point is 00:39:34 She was prominent around the same time. Yeah. Then Mary Steenbergin. Why are you guys talking to me? I'm worried. I'm worried. Why are you talking so down to me that you think I don't understand your little play game? I just really.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I get it. I'm trying to set you up for success here. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Chelsea Handler from Dear Chelsea. Every week, the news gets worse. The world gets crazier, and Yamanika is here to tell
Starting point is 00:40:02 whoever's responsible, you're the problem. If you come over here to play games, I'ma check you. Okay? If you do some in the news that don't sound good, I'm gonna play you.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Join Yomeneika Saunders as she breaks down the week's most problematic stories on her new podcast. You're the problem with Yamanika. Do you know I just found, out who Sidney Sweeney was. New episodes weekly every Wednesday
Starting point is 00:40:27 is part of my new network, the Dear Chelsea Network. If he got a bunch of women, then I should have a bunch of men. Do better or do less, so I don't have to do so much. So join Yamanika each episode as she answers one question.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Who's the problem? I'm Yamanika, and I'm out. Listen to you're the problem with Yamanika on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Okay, crazy enough, I have this picture hung on our little wall gallery. Oh, my gosh. Okay, the picture is of me and Dotten and, I mean, embrace is just the word.
Starting point is 00:41:21 We are literally, he is hugging me so tight, but I'm also like just bundled up in his arms. And we both have like the biggest smells on our faces. our producer i think katie took this photo she did an amazing job because like i said is hanging on my four-year entryway no literally this is like happiness in a picture no i'm was i don't i can't even describe to you guys how beautiful of a season my happy couples were so this is at our happy couples um i want to say our second to last one somewhere in that time frame but um we had some producers come over and basically they did this photo shoot for us but I'm just going to like try to describe how happy couples were for us and that's literally what you see in this photo it's just like pure
Starting point is 00:42:18 joy I would go back to that season in a heartbeat and not that I'm not happy now but it's there's just a different type of happiness when you are in happy couples like I said it's all in alignment with you know, you're excited to come out as a public couple, but you're also in the season, and you know you kind of have to enjoy it before it's over with. But our happy couples were always just filled with so much love. Like, I don't even know. Like, you can see it in the picture. Yeah, like, we just really had the best time together.
Starting point is 00:42:53 And I'm like, I can't get emotional, but it's very sweet. And yeah, it just takes me back to those months leading up. up to it. So I love this photo. I'm like, and I'm glad that every, I know, I was, I could not, I had not seen my ring for like three months, two months at that time. And I was like, I'm so happy to just put her on. And so she had freshly clean. I was obsessed. And I still am obsessed to this. I'm obsessed. I'm going to make that my screensaver to manifest. There we go. That, because that is just a perfect picture. Katie. No. like so good
Starting point is 00:43:33 that's amazing thank you Katie always in forever yeah oh charity you're just your face oh I love that picture it's literally like
Starting point is 00:43:45 yes and we were like no Katie is a good creative director hello but it really was yes
Starting point is 00:44:10 yes and we have had Chick-fil-A. I got to meet Katie's baby. How often did you have your happy couples with Dot? I think, I'm like, actually don't know if this is normal, but I feel like ours was every two to three weeks. So twice, I want to say twice a month or give or take. But I was really adamant. I was like, no, I need to see him. I'm like, I'm missing him. If you guys want this to work, let's see him. Yeah. No, it is so important to be together, especially. when the show is airing.
Starting point is 00:44:43 It was a lot. You need to have that time together. Yeah. Yeah. I did two. Yeah. Don't like to think about them. They were not very happy.
Starting point is 00:45:01 That is all right. We will not debrief on this episode. On to the. Yeah. One day we will. One day. Yes. On to our next segment.
Starting point is 00:45:11 I'm actually very excited for this. This is going to be called guilty confessions. And we are going to be giving you guys an inside look in a game where we're going to answer basically our confessions. So we have some prompts written down and we'll get into it. So Charity, I'll ask you the first one. I absolutely pretended to blank. Remember someone that has come up to me and is like, oh my goodness, like, do you remember me? like me saying yes and I have no idea who they are and I had had full conversations with people.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Is that crazy? But I feel that's also normal. You have to do that. Like I feel so bad, but I'm like. Exactly. No, exactly that. I'm like it happens way too many times and I'm just like, yes. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Last week. Yes. Oh my God. So my go-to line is so good to see you. Because you don't know if you can say again or not. So good to see you. I say again. But I'm like, yeah, so good to see you again.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Because I'm like, you came up to me. So clearly you know who I am. We don't cross past at some point. I just don't, I don't recall any of it. But yeah, so good to see you again. How are things? Oh my God. Great.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Well, I'm headed out actually, but like, no. I promise I'm not being fake because I am someone. I love a good conversation. I love to converse. I love to like just really get to know people. But sometimes it's tricky with the events, especially. because, yeah, I don't know. Some people also don't pick up on social cues,
Starting point is 00:46:46 and it makes me uncomfortable because I'm like, the conversation clearly isn't going. It's not expanding after a certain point, so it's like, let's just put a pin in it. But like some people want to keep going, and I'm like, I got to go. This is exactly why I do not go to events. Literally, I don't know what to do.
Starting point is 00:47:04 I'm like, I don't know what to do. Yeah. Charity, do you agree with Hannah Einbiner's subway take, If someone says nice to meet you and you reply, we've met, it constitutes as a violent act. Because now you've embarrassed both people. No, actually, I agree. Because it's like, just go with it. Like, let's not, we don't, no one needs this right now.
Starting point is 00:47:23 Let's just go with it and get it over with, you know? And they always will let you know we've met every time. We've met before. Yeah, no. And it's, it really is a certain type of person, but I'm not going to get into that either. Like, it's a certain type of person that I'm just like, Awesome. Couldn't agree more.
Starting point is 00:47:44 So yes, I do agree that that is a violent, a very, very violent act. Okay. Let's see the next one. Wait, you have to answer. Yeah, I wish I could change my answer to yours, but I did mine as if we are all collectively pretending to do math in our head, I'm not doing it. Oh, no. I'm never doing it.
Starting point is 00:48:08 You know what there's like a bill and people are like, like trying to add stuff up and everyone's pretending that they're like adding stuff up I will never actually be doing it I'm telling you don't come to me with any formula don't come with me any numbers I'm not doing it respectfully I'm just like I will literally do four times six my calculator I don't care like I never want to have a thought of math I had to take kelk too and I just sit in my professor's room every day and cry until he would give me the answers and that is why I went into the profession of psychology. I'm literature.
Starting point is 00:48:44 I'm all of those things. Do not give me numbers. I respectfully, like, I was okay with science. I actually did enjoy science, but I just, something, it's not the right hemisphere. So, no. No, absolutely not. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Okay, next one. Okay, I love that. I respect that. Okay, Charity. I've Googled blank more times than I would like to admit. I hate to say it. Am I dying? I'm like always Googling symptoms.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Hypocondriac. Is that what's happening? Yep, yep, yep. I'm like, oh, my throat is scratchy. Oh, I've experienced this already in my life, but this must be something new. Yeah. No. It's like really, me and Google, not good, not good friends.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Are you always just researching the symptoms of what you have? Yeah. Okay. No, I definitely do that. I actually can't expand too much because like, yeah, someone's going to be like, sure to you should probably, and I'm like, I'm already working through that in therapy but it's like even after i've gotten like further like additional confirmation that it's not that i'm still trying to research like well what could happen for it to ever become that like it's
Starting point is 00:49:51 really like it's so crazy so and i'm not going to give too much away because people are going to be like yeah you're exposing your brain right now but it's definitely just be glad that you're not a hypochondriac or don't have anxiety and you think about things way too extensively so no that's fair that's fair mine is i always google my dreams because i'm convinced every single thing in my dream has a meaning so i wake up the first thing i do black cat in dream meaning what like every single day i do i'm convinced i got to love it do you dream every night no but when i do i need to know exactly what was the meaning and i will google every single place i was to to find out the meaning that's really like honestly Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I love that. I have to know. I need to have some sort of prophecy in my life. Something for me to hold on to hope. I need hope alive. No, literally. Please. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:52 One more. What's a good one? I'll do one more. They're all so good. I know. Okay. I want to know your Roman Empire. I knew you were going to ask me that.
Starting point is 00:51:04 My Roman Empire, unfortunately, is, why has there only been one black woman winning dancing with the stories? I think about it way too often. Because these are the questions we need answered. I mean, I need someone. Because at this point, it's getting a little obvious. Somebody need to give you a good answer. But that is mine.
Starting point is 00:51:25 I really do think about it. And I'm like, oh, because like thinking about Zendaya losing, thinking about, I'm like, who else won? I mean, who else did not win? I was going to say because, Trudy, I didn't even know that. oh yeah a lot of people don't I can't have that conversation here that is saying a lot Zendaya I forgot that Zendaya
Starting point is 00:51:44 was even on Dancing with the Stars exactly no she should have won but I can't I can't like it's actually crazy I'm like yeah Zendaya was on Dancing with the Stars so that's mine no that one I'm going to make that one mine as well yeah um
Starting point is 00:52:03 I have my Rachel's like, me too, actually. Actually, same. We're going to end with that. Because you don't want to know. I do want to know. I actually tell me yours right now. I need to know.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Okay. My Roman Empire is the Jersey Shore episode where Jenny J. Wow backhanded Mike the situation in Atlantic City. And when I went to Atlantic City, I tried to find where that happened. Because she changed my brain chemistry. No, that's a good one. And I think that. That's what I'm going to watch tonight.
