Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. I'm Rachel. And I'm Charity. And today we have Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise alum, Parisa. Welcome to Happy Hour. Hi, thank you for having me.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Prisa, we are so excited to have you. It's crazy that we have never met you because I feel like I know you by watching Paradise. You are so much fun to watch. Thank you. Yeah. It was fun. It seems like you have some mixed thoughts. Like, how do you feel now being a little far removed from Paradise? Well, it's a great, like, it's a fun memory and experience to have and look back on. And like a great, like, conversation topic that comes up every now and then between me and my friends. But a lot has changed since then. And it feels like that was such like a dream, like a fever dream. But yeah, like, no, I'm really glad, though, you guys took that away from it watching. Well, we are so excited to have you.
Starting point is 00:01:16 We will get into paradise. But let's start out. You are in your car. And where are you currently? I know. I'm so sorry. You're fine. The clinic was just really loud today.
Starting point is 00:01:29 So I thought it would be better and more quiet sitting in the car. And you recently had a move to Chicago? Yes, I'm here in Chicago now and I love it so much. It is just like a whole new world. I have a new career, a new city, boyfriend. Everything has just been like just so fun. But yeah, I loved. I moved here last fall.
Starting point is 00:01:57 So actually my one year is coming up. Oh, my God, exciting. What made you want to go to Chicago? I was definitely ready for change last year to move. And Chicago was one of the cities I was thinking about moving to. My sister went to school there, and I just, I had roots basically just growing up, like, going to the city. And really, the deciding factor was my boyfriend. He is from Illinois.
Starting point is 00:02:27 and lives in Chicago. And we were just ready at that time for like that next step with me moving to Chicago and eliminating long distance. Oh my God. I love. I'm like, I keep hearing the word boyfriend. So I'm like, I want to know so much more. Rachel, were you going to ask about that?
Starting point is 00:02:47 Yes. You have to give us an update. You have your boyfriend, Gabe. How did you to meet? So I never, I don't know. there's such a stigma with this, but I never like saying we met off like a dating app. And I feel like it's totally okay. This is just how it is nowadays. Everyone. It absolutely is. Yeah. And I guess like in my mind, I'm like always imagining, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:11 meeting someone like at a bar restaurant on a TV show, you know, but not an app. But yeah, we met on Raya last year. And it was just, it was different. I think. think because of both of our mindsets, I wasn't looking for anything really serious at that time. So there was just no pressure I was putting on myself. And I think he was in a similar boat. And it just started off as a friendship. And we just, we got really close. And then that friendship turned into something. That's really sweet. So did he like, obviously when you guys started dating or I guess talking and going through those first early stages, did he have any idea that you,
Starting point is 00:03:57 went on a reality TV show beforehand? Yes, he did. It was tough because he wasn't really a fan. Okay. Reality TV in general. And the timing too, when I met him, I met him actually after the Bachelor, like, Brant's season. and we were just, we were friends at that point.
Starting point is 00:04:28 It was, you know, nothing. Like not, it's just more of like, I don't know, hanging out here and there. And when the opportunity then came up about Paradise and then me leaving, I just told them like, oh, hey, by the way, like, you know, this just came up, just letting you know. And he was like, oh, okay. You know, because, again, like, we don't owe each other anything at that point. And then it was later when Paradise was over. we reconnected and he had a hard time reconnecting with me because of paradise being like it was that thing in the middle of him and I and it was hard it was definitely really hard to like navigate us
Starting point is 00:05:12 then getting closer and then like you know that question keeps coming up like what are we what are we doing where is this going and yeah it was it was really difficult but at the end of of it all. I don't know. I feel like at that time, we both then had that mindset of like, okay, relationships are work. And if this is something we do see turning into something, and then we have to both put in the work and communicate and talk through everything and just, you know, get on the same page. And I think, I mean, that's what really helped with our relationship developing then. So you guys had a friendship before Paradise. You reconnected out. You reconnected after who initiated the reconnection?
Starting point is 00:05:59 Hmm. It was kind of, it was him, but it was a check-in. Like, hey, how's everything going? And how soon after Paradise was that? Check-in? A month. Okay. Yeah, a month after.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And I didn't respond right away. I was a little, like, I was hesitant because I was still figuring. out my life and I was all over the place and I just wasn't in that mindset to like have a conversation with anybody. I'm, you know, like, yeah. So then I took a few days and then I called him and then we caught up and from there slowly it ended up like kind of turning into something very, very slow. I was just curious because right after Paradise, there's so much going on, but then you still have to rewatch it. Were you guys together in that rewatch period of Paradise? No. And, you know, it's funny. He told me, he was like, I'm not watching it. Don't worry. Like, I'm, I don't want to, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:05 see everything that went on. And I feel like it just won't do us any good. I'm like, no, it's fine. Like, you can watch. Like, you know, there was nothing. Like, it wasn't like, you know, like, we had something going on before the show. I'm just like, you can watch. It's fine. Like, I have nothing to hide. And then when I. When I. realized, because I didn't know at that time, too, he was starting to like me more and more. And then when I started to pick up on, you know, little things, I'm like, oh, my head, he likes me that. And I'm like, you know what? Don't watch this week. It's okay. Like, you know, skip it. Yeah. Not anything.
Starting point is 00:07:38 No, lo and behold, I'm like, he's probably like, at some point he's going to have to come across it or he, you know, eventually will get there. But I, go ahead. He watched them all afterwards. Oh, he did. Okay. After, like, a couple months, he goes, by the way, like, I did end up watching them all. And I'm like, I know. Honestly, good for him. I'm like, get it out the way. And that way, like, you know, it's almost like a fresh page, fresh slate for the both
Starting point is 00:08:00 of you guys. Do you feel like, obviously, because you guys met in the real world that this relationship is a little bit different? Or do you feel like because you, like you said, obviously did Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise and then dated in the real world that that's maybe even more complicated or complicates things? Yeah. I feel like. it complicated a lot of things in the beginning. And I honestly, like, I really, I didn't, I didn't have hope. Like, I did not think we were going to work out. And I was really accepting it. Like, I always gave him space, you know, when things would come up. And, like, I would always put myself in his shoes, too. Like, I cannot imagine if, like, roles were reverse. I'd be going crazy. Like, and of course, like, I'm always, I'm the type to, like, preach against this. But I would be going on his social media.
Starting point is 00:08:53 every day refreshing it see new followers who is he following like i would i would be in my head about it so i'm always like looking back i'm like wow like he he was very strong during that time and i am i am just very thankful that he was in that mindset to like to work with me and communicate through just like any emotion he was feeling like we just we tackle it straight on and it definitely i think compared to like if i never did the show compared to any other relationship, I feel like that was a really great test from the beginning to test our communication skills. So you guys watched Paradise, or he went back and watched Paradise.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Did he have any things to say or bring up with you after watching? It was funny. How I knew he was watching too, because he, you know, he would say he wasn't. And then after a show and air, like a day later, he'd be like, oh, you know, by the way, like, I actually had one of my friends text me. about, you know, this episode that they watched. And they saw this. They were wondering, like, what was that?
Starting point is 00:09:58 And then it brought to my attention. Like, now I'm curious. And I'm like, okay, you can just see you watch it. It's okay. Yeah, truly, who is the friend? The friend is him. Yeah. So, yeah, there would be things, too.
Starting point is 00:10:11 We'd be like, oh, like, by the way, like, you know, my other friend texting me or they saw this. So I knew, too, like, that was just, you know, like his way. Because he didn't, he was doing everything possible to see. stay always like composed and um but yeah so it's questions yeah they would come up weekly and i also too i you kind of have like an idea what's going to be aired the next week um with like all the events like order of events i i tried my best always to be like oh just letting you know like next week it's birds of paradise and it's you know the overnight suite um that's the
Starting point is 00:10:53 episode like I just want to give you a heads up like this is what happened I don't know how things will be played back or what you'll see but just letting you know like be prepared if like anything comes up like expect that for next week um so I always try to do my best too but looking back I'm guess I'm just really thankful everything worked out like it it it I wouldn't change anything because it led me to where I am today and everything's good. Yeah. Well, now that we kind of enter it into Paradise a little bit, I do want to pick your brain a little bit more on specifically your season
Starting point is 00:11:33 because as we know it, there was a lot of changes with this season. And I'm curious, what do you feel like went well versus what did not go well? So I guess I can't. I loved watching the previous seasons, and so I definitely saw, like, how different they were. I don't know. Like, I enjoyed the layout of it. And honestly, I know a lot of people did not like the games and the competitions. But the day they told us about the competitions, my brain went straight to, like, these are like couples.
Starting point is 00:12:20 like skill building activities to like test your communication skills and like how you guys work together as a partner and I'm like I love this stuff this is so fun like that's kind of what I do as a therapist either with like social skills with like teens or just like communication skills with adults and relationships like I love this I I never viewed it as oh like whoever finishes the race first wins it's who like which couples make it through it together and then grow for it. And so I loved that. I thought it was great. I, of course, like at that time, I wish I had a partner where we were at, you know, on the same page with that. That would have made it more fun. But the whole idea of it, though, I thought it was cool. It was different and it switched it up
Starting point is 00:13:12 compared to previous seasons with just kind of like hanging around on the beach and then going on dates. What did you think about the goldens being there? I know a lot of people have very differing opinions on that. I also love that too. I always use this word, but it was like cozy, because I felt like my like parents, aunts, uncles and like people that have so much experience and wisdom that we can lean on. And that's exactly what happened. In fact, there were so many conversations that were had that were never shown on the show. And I'm like, oh, my gosh, like, this would have been so great if this was aired or, you know, like, there was just so many, like, breakfast moments, like, I don't know. I wish more of that was shown. But I loved that,
Starting point is 00:14:05 too. I thought it was fun. And also, like, in the moment as well, like, when you're going through everything, like, you're always in your head and your second guessing everything. And it was just fun to have, like the golden's there to like lean on for advice for that like I'd go up to the room like I would go to Leslie and I'd be like oh my god we need to talk right now like please like sit down and it was just nice it was nice having like a different perspective as well no I fully agree because I think that's like the benefit almost too of having the goldens there is that they've like lived life they've have all this you know these years of experience they come with so much wisdom but also there's this like lightheartedness about it that they don't, you know, I don't want to say they don't take things as serious,
Starting point is 00:14:51 but it's like not, you know, it's not the end of the world for them. And I think how you described is like dependent on whatever situation or scenarios at play during Paradise, it's you guys typically do get in your head more. And the Goldens are just like, you know what? Like I think they're a good reminder to just like have fun. So like speaking of that, what would you say was probably the most challenging aspect of Paradise? And what was like the most fun part for you. It was fun. Hopefully there was.
Starting point is 00:15:21 I know. Was there any fun in there? I know. My fingers crossed. You were going through it. I know. I just have to sit and think about that for a second. Yeah, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Let's start. We're challenging. But yeah, with challenging, where do I begin? I'm trying to think like day one, stepping on the first. Yeah. challenging well okay I guess so this is actually I want to see this is my proposal too of a future show so the first challenging thing I noticed like when you enter the beach I came in week to everyone already coupled up at that point and when I was looking around I didn't see like you know before paradise too like you have this thought in your mind like okay, maybe they're like I'm looking for these guys. For me, that did not happen.
Starting point is 00:16:19 And I'm like, okay, like, I'm going to be open. But when I was there, like the other guys already coupled up with the girls, they weren't open. And so then I'm like, okay, now I need to think, like, there'll be new guys coming in week three. I want a chance to stay so I can see who's here week three. So it's like you have to play a straight. You know, there's like that strategy to stay. And I did not like. that because it also, even if I was there week one, it has you second guessing everyone's,
Starting point is 00:16:50 like how everyone's intentions. I think what would make everything just maybe more genuine to between like everyone meeting like the week one, week two, because there's again, there's such a fear of getting sent home early and then not meeting someone who comes in the next week. So like some people kind of fake it to you make it. I think a new layout for the show, be so helpful, having a second, like, island. And the people that there's, they don't have a connection with that first week, they go to the second island. And so one island, you know, like you have connections that are growing. And then, you know, people come in the next week, the second, week, third week to that main island. And if connections again, don't work out on that island,
Starting point is 00:17:36 the people that don't get a rose, they go to island number two. And then they have more. And then they have a second chance, you know? And then at that point, like, again, you can't, you don't want to force anything. If it's not there, it's there. But at least they had that opportunity. You know, I think about Sam and Allie Joe, I'm going home week one. If he would have been sent to Island 2 and then Allie Joe went, you know, to the main
Starting point is 00:18:04 island, nothing worked out for her there. Then she went to Island 2. They would have had, you know, an opportunity. I actually really like that. I like that idea a lot, which I'm like, if anyone's listening for you, please, like, consider all things. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Do we want to jump right in? I don't know how long it takes for people to typically come down. But I'm like maybe no one goes home. Like maybe we throw away the concept of like handing out roses the first few weeks and like actually let people mingle, let people, like, get to know each other. And then, yeah, then the chopping block can arrive. Like, you know what I mean? I think that makes so much more sense, like,
Starting point is 00:19:52 what you were saying of not making people feel like they have to, like, almost, I don't say fake a connection, but it's like, yeah, there is, like, this small aspect of like, okay, I'm just, I need to stick around because I like you, but someone else might come down that I might like better. And it's like, that is always in the back of your head. I'm like, how how much does that interfere with like how genuine you are? I feel like that would really mess me up, you know? It is like that barrier from like allowing you to like fully be present and like allow yourself to open up and connect with someone. So yeah, like any other layout or I feel like that would help a lot. I want to ask coming in later, not even later, you're kind of in the first group of
Starting point is 00:20:37 arrivals. Did you notice any of the couples there that seemed like they were putting on a bit of a show and that didn't have a connection? Come on. I don't know. I don't think that ever stood out to me. Like putting on the show, putting on a show. I will say when I first, like, stepped on the beach. I met Spencer on the beach. He was like, hi, I'm Spencer. Nice to meet you. I already coupled up with someone, like immediately said that. No, please. I got to go. And I remember at that point when that happened, I'm like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:21:16 Good for him for being so confident and knowing and like, you know, like that's what he wants. Like that, that's the, you know, it takes a lot of confidence for sure and security. But like at that time too, I remember a lot of other like girls. They would, you know, like make comments like, wow, like that would be nice. Like the way like Spencer would talk about Jess when she wasn't there or like at breakfast time, she, he would come down before her. He would get like a plate out for her and like put food on it and like get her food ready and have it wrapped waiting for her. And he would like sit and then wait for her to come down before he would eat.
Starting point is 00:21:55 No, that's so sweet. It was so sweet. And that like stood out every day. And we're like, oh my God, wow. Like that's really nice. But it's just it is cute to see like looking bad. back, like, how that all evolved. And, like, literally, it was like, my day one. He was like, nice to meet you. I'm already coupled up. Like, I already met someone. So it's like,
Starting point is 00:22:14 he knew from day one. Yeah. But I'm also, like, in my head, there's a part of me that kind of wonders, like, okay, like, let's, I don't know, let's mix up the personalities here a little bit more. I'm like, maybe there should be a little bit more. I hate to say this. I'm going to sound crazy saying you, but like, mess, you know? I want someone that's like, I thought I met my wife, but perhaps I may be wrong. Like, you know, and it's like, that's not me. That's not my ministry. It would never be me.
Starting point is 00:22:44 But it's like, you know, I would love to like kind of see that play out. Am I wrong? No, I'm not. I'm just a girl. But like, I think that would make for more dynamic television, but also for you all's experiences. It's like, okay, like it gets a little bit. I think that's what Paradise is supposed to be about.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Yeah. I completely agree. There were times too, you know, like producers would ask you like, oh, like, you know, who do you want to talk to? Who do you want to fall aside? And a lot of people, like, no one wanted to jump shit because I think with the concept of how it is, like, people are scared that they might not get froze and continue. So it's like, oh, I'm going to play it safe. Just stay with one person the entire time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Yeah, like if it was different, like keeping the couple's challenges, like those games, but then like forcing, like, forcing, like, like couples to switch partners, I feel like that would be good because now it's like, okay, like let's be like how we work together in this situation or it would add a nice twist. Yeah. If you give everyone that option of like, oh, who do you want to take someone else out? Do you want to talk to someone else? People, they just say no. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:23:56 I agree with the whole concept too about there's a lot of fear of like not getting picked or chosen, but also there's also a lot of fear about the feedback from the. audience. And I'm like, Bachelor fans and contestants, we really have to, like, discard that. Like, I feel like that's what's holding us back as a franchise. I really, really do. It's like, this is TV. Obviously, no one's perfect. There's a way to have this and indulge in it in a healthy way, but also, like, we're humans at the end of the day. There's going to be times where people make mistakes and we should be allowed the freedom to, like, do that and not be so fearful of what that, like response is going to be so yeah I would love a little dynamic twist for sure if you see that now
Starting point is 00:24:40 I feel like in the comments everyone's like oh my god like where did the show go or like why is it so different or people you know people just make comments over like the change over the past you know I think to myself I'm like well honestly a lot of it comes from the viewers because it's not like the most like secure environment for us to be in knowing like what's waiting on the other side, which is with how like hot style some people can be on social media and like DM's comments. It's like, you know, things have changed with reality TV because of viewers. You know, it's like such a cancer culture now where like people like, like you don't get like that reality TV that used to watch with like Jersey Shore or the hills.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Right. You don't see that anymore because people are just terrified. And that is so unfortunate, but you've had some time to, I guess, recoup. You're out of the Bachelor bubble. I remember watching you. And I don't think you were treated the way you should the whole time. Watching that back and having time removed, what have you taken from the experience? I just, I, it was, I don't know, again, like, I just take from it. Like, it was a crazy experience that like not everyone gets to have. And so I view it as just like,
Starting point is 00:26:02 like something like that. Like you know, like when you have, I call it like a life resume. And it's just like I added it on my life resume of like something that like, like contributed to like who I am today and like built like the character, like the person I am today. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:26:21 it wasn't again, yeah, the best experience. And of course then I also like it reinforces. is that like that's saying it's like what's meant for you what is that saying like it's where you are in your life right now is exactly where you're supposed to be it's like at that time I was bummed you know I was devastated I didn't have that that that that love story that came out of the show but it just reinforces like that thought of like you you need to trust where you are in your life because like it truly like it's it's where you're at and like how you're
Starting point is 00:26:56 where it's going like it's meant for you like you were meant to be there um at that that spot so like my experience then i did not think you know i'm like okay yeah i was kind of devastated but looking back at it i'm like no like that's exactly what needed to happen i needed to experience that that was meant for me because look where i am today like i wouldn't be here today if i had a different outcome for sure when you got off the show um did you rekindle or connect a lot of lot with some of the girls that were on grant season. Like how is y'all's friendship and dynamic to this day? Oh, yeah. I'm still friends with a lot of the girls. I got closer with Alex because now she's in Chicago a lot with Andrew. Amazing. And Andrew actually just like lives around the corner for me.
Starting point is 00:27:45 So it's nice. It's actually really funny. There's been a few times like I, like I, my boyfriend Gabe and I will go on a walk at nighttime. And we go like just cross the corner across the street. And then we run into Alex and Andrew walking his dog. And like that's funny. Yeah. So it's nice. Like I feel like we're like in the same neighborhood. But yeah, it's it's been really great.
Starting point is 00:28:08 And actually my friend Sarah Feina who was on grant season, she just came to Chicago. She was visiting. Love her. Yeah. She's so sweet. And I'm always telling her like she needs to visit Chicago more because we always have so much fun. And she's in town. But, um, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Are you close with like Bailey? Obviously she was on Paradise with you and on Grant season two. Like are you all close or is it just friendly? Like how is that? Yeah, friendly. Yeah. The next time I'm in New York, when I was there previously, I was trying, I stayed with Serafina and we were planning a dinner with Bailey but she wasn't in town.
Starting point is 00:28:47 But it's one of those things too. If she's ever in town, would love to get dinner with her and catch up. We were friends too on both shows. But yeah, like looking back to like I just brings back like funny memories about like that whole thing that happened like between like Brian and Bailey and I'm what was I can't even remember what it was like sending that card the date the Ron date card. It was so funny. But yeah. But and I want to highlight on that with Bailey not telling me. Bailey knows me.
Starting point is 00:29:19 And she knew in that moment she had to figure out everything first before saying something because if she would have told me. me without knowing like what's going on it would have created like I would have just started spiraling and been like it would have been a mess so like she knew she had to figure everything out first and then bring that to me say I feel like this is the context that we need like people would not know absolutely I remember watching that back and I mean I think we all love to be girls girls and I remember just watching that I can't imagine what it was like to experience it but you guys are all good it's all smooth odor now oh yeah even even when it happens i i was not upset at all i'm like she knows me she knew like it just would have created a worse mess and i would have reacted
Starting point is 00:30:10 and um yeah so i felt like in that sense with her not saying anything in that moment it also saved me like it saves me from reacting in this you know god knows how i would have reacted but like in front of the customers in a certain way. But yeah. So I and when everything, when all that happened, I told her, I'm like, honestly, like, thank you. Like, good. Like, don't worry. And I, like, reassured her, too.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I didn't want her thinking. Like, I was upset by that. But it just goes to show, like, she really, she knew me. She knew how I would feel and respond. And she wanted to do her due diligence with, like, figuring everything out first and then bring that to me after. That's very thoughtful or considered, I should say. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Yeah. Love. Love, blah, blah. And also, I'm like, before we like change scenes here, obviously, Juliana from your season is engaged and congratulations are in order for her. So I'm curious, have you guys like been there supportive for her or how is that dynamic? Is it interesting, obviously, considering she was with Grant and we all know, obviously, things were a little interesting following that season. So could you give us an update? Yeah. We're all just so happy for her. This was everything. Like she, I remember when I first met her,
Starting point is 00:31:30 she always talked about like her personal growth in her life and how she wanted to become like just a very strong woman before meeting her partner. And she was just so ready. She was ready to meet her other half. And I know like it was devastating for her when all that kind of, you know, through with grant and it was really hard publicly as well um and now with this new engagement like it she just she knew like she always knew what she wanted and what she was looking for and it was just a matter of time of like meeting the right guy and um yeah we're also happy for her um i actually that's
Starting point is 00:32:14 something i i do want to plan soon um like a trip to go over um there and just like spend a weekend with her. I haven't met her fiancé yet, but I've just been like asking and like checking in and like, tell me like all about your new life. Like, you know, what are you up to? Like, how's everything? Yeah, it's been a while since I've seen her. But we still try to catch up here and there. But yeah, we're just all so happy for her that like she found like her forever after. Yeah. And you as well, you and Gabe, Juliana. We are so. happy that there's love all around. Everywhere.
Starting point is 00:32:54 Everywhere. Everything was meant to be. Love horror movies, but also working on yourself. Mental health is horrifying is the podcast where those two worlds collide. Starting point is 00:34:04 We are going to transition and play a little game. We are going to show you some behind the scenes photos that the audience has never seen before and you are going to give us the backstory. I'm nervous. I'm excited to see yours. Don't be. I just know they're going to be great. And for our listeners, if you are just listening, you can keep track at Bachelor Happy Hour. see the photos yourself. Okay. Oh, that was a cute one. So up first, we have a group selfie. It's a mirror selfie. It's Kathy, April, Jess, Leslie, Poresa, Leah, and Kat. And they're taking a little mirror selfie. I think you guys are all glammed up. So I'm assuming before Rose ceremony, but we'll let you answer that. Yep. That was always so fun. Like the girl
Starting point is 00:34:58 we would get ready together. And then even after getting ready, there would be just a little downtime before the rose ceremony. And so we would get our drinks, bring them to the room, and we would all just kind of like hang out together in the room, have girl talk,
Starting point is 00:35:14 kind of just reflect on how everything's going. But yeah, that was fun. And we would play music too. It was cute having that girl time. It was definitely very calming as well to like have that. before going to a rose ceremony. It was a nice way to like redirect your mind and calm the nerves before stepping out
Starting point is 00:35:37 out there. I love this. What was it like? Because when I was in paradise, we were just sweltering and we all had to get ready in this like small box of a room. You guys all had your own rooms or I guess you had one roommate as well. And so did you guys all get ready in one room? Or were you just all running around through the hall as like a big sleepover?
Starting point is 00:36:00 We would start getting ready. We would do like our, you know, shower hair in our rooms. And then we would take our makeup into someone else's room. And then everyone would kind of just gather in the room. And we would finish our makeup there, talk, and then bring like a drink into the room too. But yeah, it was cute to have those like girly moments. was there anyone who was designated hairstylist, makeup artist,
Starting point is 00:36:31 or did everyone do their own? I feel like in the most part everyone did their own, but Leah, she's known for that. Like, like she knows how to do a beautiful face of makeup and hair. She would always, like, help out
Starting point is 00:36:46 in that department as well. Yeah, I was trying to think. I mean, oh, back to your comment, too, Rachel about like what it was like for you guys getting ready in paradise. I can't imagine. You don't want to. I can't even explain. Yeah. Just like we would spend, you know, a little time getting ready and doing our hair and makeup. But then when we would walk outside, the humidity. I mean, after like the first week, I'm like, there's no point for me to do my hair because when I leave room, my hair is just frizzy and my makeup's melding. So I started spending less time.
Starting point is 00:37:25 doing the glam because I'm like there's just no point. So I can't imagine though being already like sitting in a hot humid environment doing my hair and makeup. I would just have my hair up the entire time. Yeah, there was quite literally no inside. You know, we made it through and we have the next picture. You are also outside. Prise, you are squatting down looking at what I would assume to be maybe some sort of an animal or a bug and you have the cameraman and the camera man and the mic man zooming in on you our creature of the week yes yes the creature of the week i love nature i love animals insects like growing up i wish i was eliza thornberry from the wild thornberry like to talk to animals like and anyone would be like what you know what's a superpower you
Starting point is 00:38:17 want everyone's like oh i want to be invisible i want to fly i'm like no i want to talk to animals I love like any type of like insect, any type of mammal. So being in Costa Rica, honestly, it was just like it felt like home being in that environment. There were so many like just crazy critters that I'm not used to, like being a girl from Michigan. I always say like we have ladybugs and daddy long legs. Like we don't have cool tarantulas or lizards. So seeing a whole debt there, I'm like, God, like, it was, it was so fun. But yeah, so any chance, like, when I'm outside and, like, something catches my eye, I'm definitely, I never pause.
Starting point is 00:39:02 I go right to it to, like, check it out. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. When we were in Paradise, I always would take every, like, advantage or to every second I could to, like, educate everyone on the wildlife there. I do love that. I think that's an amazing, I would say gift because I hate, yeah, I truly hate insects. I'm like, there's probably nothing that you're afraid of. No, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:29 That's remarkable. Yeah, I guess there's not. When we were, I'm like self-soothing as you're talking. Yeah. Because I cannot deal with like anything insects. Yeah. When we actually reminded me too, when we were at, like during grant season at the Bachelor Mansion. I was upstairs, but I hear everyone's screaming like, Prisa, come down,
Starting point is 00:39:52 come down. There's a snake and there was a snake by the pool. And I'm like, oh my God, don't move it. And I'm running down. And I wanted to pick it up and all producers like, no, I'm like yelling, don't touch it. And I looked and I'm like, I don't think it's venomous though. Like I really, because like it didn't have like a rattle and like you kind of know too by like the neck of a snake where their venom sacs are. And it didn't really have that. But I mean, it was like, of course. You never know. And so, yeah, I wasn't allowed to pick it up. And then they ended up finding out, I think it was like a gopher snake or a rat snake or something.
Starting point is 00:40:29 But yeah, so I think there's just like a lot of fun memories like that. When you were in Paradise and there was a bug in someone's room, which I'm assuming you guys had that issue, would you go and save the bug or were they allowed to kill the bug? Oh, I would save them. Holy. You would, would they tell you and you would have to go in and, like, make a rescue? Yeah. That happened the first week.
Starting point is 00:40:53 There was a bat in Kathy's room. And I, um. With rabies. Yeah, yeah. Why is that? Yeah. I know. But, um, the Golden Jack, he was there and he was, like, trying to get it out.
Starting point is 00:41:07 And I'm like, here, I'll help you. Like, because I thought that was a lot of fun. So we, like, just opened the sliding door and we just kept trying to, like, whoosh it out. Um, but the most common thing that would, be in everyone's rooms or these huge, like, frogs or, like, tree frogs. Wow. Sometimes they just leave their doors open, and then you would hear screams.
Starting point is 00:41:27 And I'm like, oh, that's my call. I know. And so I would go and help to get the frog out. Me and you would have been best friends because I would have been, like, Farisa to the rescue right now. Yeah. We have fun. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Okay, great. This is an exclusive picture. picture here. Okay, it is you and Brian beautiful backdrop. The scenery is like it's giving green screen. I don't have much more context besides that, but it's a picture of you and Brian. So yeah, feel free. Yeah. So that picture was taken the morning after the Birds of Paradise challenge. And we won that challenge. And we got, we wanted like a one night stay in the presidential suite. And that night definitely did not go as planned.
Starting point is 00:42:23 And that next morning, I don't know if you could see it on my face, but that next morning definitely that was when it like hit me where I'm just like, yeah, like we know, we know where we're at. We know where this is going. And it's like, yeah. Because like as, I don't know, I feel like it's a common thing. thing for us girls. Like we make excuses sometimes for guys that we're seeing, but it's not an excuse for their behavior, but it's more of like the hope we see this like, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:58 like where the relationship is going or just like what we want it to turn into because we have it in our mind. Like, okay, like I think we're capable of getting to this point or like you're capable of being this person that I see you being. And so we make excuses. And then that next day, it hit me where I'm like, no, I can't. Like, this is, there's no, like, there's no changing a person or, you know, the circumstance we're in. Like, this is how it's going to be. But yeah, I came to my realization that next time.
Starting point is 00:43:32 I was in. I've been there. I've been in the position you're in in the morning. I feel like I can see it on your face because there's nowhere to go in that moment. And you're trying to be happy, but you know that it's not going to work. out what made you want to continue even after coming to that realization in a way? Of course, like you're always holding on that hope. And like, I use this word to like, I don't know, like I like breadcrumming. I felt like I was like Brian might have been breadcrumbing me a little
Starting point is 00:44:09 because if something was bothering me, I would, you know, talk about it and I would bring it up. and then things would immediately change. And then you're like, okay. So, like, there always was something that would kind of reel me back in of like, oh, like, oh, like, what am I, like, what am I thinking? Like, this is such a different environment than the real world. Of course, this is going to happen. Like, this isn't like, you know, like being out and like testing a relationship in the real world,
Starting point is 00:44:34 it's going to be so different than here. So, like, there was always something that kept like giving me, I don't know, like, just redirecting my mind to be like, okay, like, no, it's okay. like, no, it's okay. It's fine. But that still, though, that moment where I'm like, no, I was coming down more to Earth after, yeah,
Starting point is 00:44:54 that night. Did he ever learn your favorite color? I don't think he did. Yeah. That's okay. He don't need to know it. He really doesn't. Oh, yeah. Yeah, he doesn't need to know that. Oh. No, but it's okay.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Yeah. It led you to where you're at now. Exactly. And like, yeah. And so I like to use this too as like an experience and a story that like you share with others that if they're going through something similar where they're just devastated and like, you know, they're heartbroken about something that they thought would go differently. It's like, you know, like here I'm going to share a similar story like where I was. And like in that moment I couldn't imagine anything different for myself. Like I was just so stuck on like what wasn't working at. And like, I was just so stuck on like what wasn't working at. out. But then you, you know, fast forward a year later and you're like, oh, my God, like, I'm exactly where I was meant to be. Like, I'm so happy these things happened or I wouldn't be here today. And yeah, that's how, yeah, I view it. And, yeah. You love a reframe. We love a reframe. Oh, wait, this picture is Gorge. Oh, I love this one. Thank you. Oh, you look so pretty.
Starting point is 00:46:15 It's a picture of Parisa, and she is standing in front of what seems to be the resort pool. She's dressed in a lovely floral dress, maybe before a row ceremony, a date. I don't know, but Prisa, give us some context. Yes. So that was before the first rose ceremony with the Golden's joining us. and that dress, I saved it for that rose ceremony because that was my mom's dress that she had, I think it was like from the early 90s.
Starting point is 00:46:52 And I'm like, oh, like, this is perfect. Best occasion to wear it when the Goldens are joining us. And this is our first rose with the Goldens. So I'm going to like honor my mom with like her dress. And so I remember too when I like after the show, you know, it was recorded. we came home before it was aired. I was dying to tell my mom because she had no idea that I took it and wore it at a rose ceremony.
Starting point is 00:47:15 And I waited. I'm like, no, I'm not going to tell her. I want it to be a surprise. When she watches the show, I want her to be like, wait, is that my dress? And so, yeah, that's exactly what I did. And she was shocked. And she was like, oh, my gosh. Like, that was so beautiful.
Starting point is 00:47:29 And, yeah. That is such a beautiful story. Yeah. I was going to ask for the link. And now I'm kind of devastating. that I can't get it, but that's such a beautiful way to have your mom with you in those moments that are really difficult. I'm screaming.
Starting point is 00:47:46 I just got the next photo. No. Okay. I'll try to explain this. So this is Prisa and Grant, and they're in front of a horse stable, and Prisa is expecting a baby. Yeah. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:48:04 That was fun. That's another great one. This is so. What is this picture? I love AI. I love it. I think it's so fun. And before I met Grant, like night one, you know, you come out of the limo and you need
Starting point is 00:48:21 to, like, think of, like, a fun introduction. And I'm like, well, let's make my introduction, like, short and sweet coming out of the limo. But when we, when I take them aside during cocktail hour, I want to do something, like, really like fun to like have a nice like I don't know a nice lasting impression for the night because you have to like it's tough you have like it's enough you know yeah like there's 30 other girls so you really need to find a way to stand out so I leaned on AI and I just wanted to the whole goal of that was to give him an idea of like look what your life could look like if you know you give me a rose tonight and allow for this relationship to like develop and go somewhere like this is a
Starting point is 00:49:04 possibility down the road. And yeah. What did he say? Well, like, he laughed. He was like, oh. And like, you know, I don't expect him to, you know, be like, wow, you know, like, he definitely was, yeah. But he was laughing. And I guess, you know, that was my goal too to make him laugh in that moment. So that was, that was good. That was accomplished. And yeah, it did seem to have like a funny, impression or like a lasting impression with him but um yeah also like no regrets on that i would do that all over again in fact i would create even more AI pictures of like future like full family um even adding like 50 years to our age too so then you can see down the world that's so yeah did he comment any on like um like the horses obviously we know you love animals but did he
Starting point is 00:49:59 did he ask like oh so why horses or how do we end up on a barn or how do we end up on a barn Like, did he ask any? No. He didn't ask, but he made a comment. He was like, oh, and the horses. Like, he, I think, like, he was just really highlighting the detail. Yeah. Clearly.
Starting point is 00:50:17 Yeah. He probably couldn't get past the perfect pregnancy belly. No, belly, literally. As far as his eyes went. I know. Yeah. At least you know you're going to be a beautiful pregnant person. You really are.
Starting point is 00:50:31 I hope my body stays like that. I'm dead that you brought him an AI image. Yeah. Oh yeah, I did that whole like PowerPoint and it was fun. Really, I'm just, I wish like I wasn't nervous because I naturally, I get really nervous. And I thought like I could have been more enthusiastic and like made it more funny if I wasn't as nervous. But we feel you. Night one is crazy.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Yeah. Okay, so we have nuts. Another image, it's Prisa laying in the grass and there is a crab, I believe. Yeah. Next to you. Am I correct? A crusasion? Cusation? That crab was so so cute. He lingered almost the entire time, like during Paradise. He would, he had like a known spot by, it was like the other. side by the pool. It was by the ping pong tables. He would always come out there and then go back into the woods. But like he, he, he, we just knew like certain times of the days, um, where to find him. Well, I knew. And so I would go and like look for him. And there was like a few other crabs, but that crab was there almost the entire time. And he was really distinct because he had one large flaw and then one small club. Um, but yeah, it was just such a shame that like you can't touch them. Do you think you spent more time with the nameless crab than Brian?
Starting point is 00:52:09 It would be like down the middle. 50, 50. It's fair. Yeah. I always knew where to go when I needed to like kind of recollect and find myself. It would be, you know, like to nature. Did you ever tell the crab what was going on? Did you talk to him at all?
Starting point is 00:52:31 not no because there were people there were always people around in that area if i was talking to the crab it would be to tell him like how cute he was he's cute yeah but um these were so yeah these were really good photos i feel like yours had a lot of um context behind that we probably would have never got if we didn't ask or show these up with you so thank you parisa it was a nice trip down memory lane. Yes. Thank you so much for joining us, Parisa. And we are so happy for you in your new relationship, your new career, and your new move.
