Welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour's Golden Hour. Thanks for joining us today. We're so excited
to be back. How are you, Susan? Always excited to be back. I can't wait for today. We have a very
special guest. Please welcome from this season of the Golden Bachelor. Peg is here. Hey, Peg. Hey, Peg.
Hey, Peg.
Look how gorgeous she is.
I mean, do you wake up looking that beautiful?
That's what I want to know.
The hair, the cleavage, you are something.
No wigs, no wigs here.
Your hair is, really, you look absolutely gorgeous.
And that smile could light a room, really.
We're happy to have you.
So talk to us.
Let's get started.
There's so much we want to dive into.
Here we go.
first we want to get to know you a little bit better where let's just start at the beginning where
are you from born and raised in las Vegas Las Vegas Nevada born and raised okay wow I'm coming your
way soon I know do you win on the strip do you even gamble people from Vegas probably don't
even go to the strip is that right I can tell you I've gambled probably five times in my entire life
and I have a question is it hard to date in Las Vegas really hard to date in Las Vegas really hard to
date. It's very hard to date. You know why? All the men are throwing their money away on the
craps table. That's what's going on there. They don't live there. They just visit. But you have
had an incredible career and my son was a firefighter. So I love you because thank you for your
service all those years that you were one. But tell us about your life as a bomb tech.
Well, it was really, it was fun because I was on the fire department. I was hired in 1992. I was
a fourth woman hired on. So you could only guys imagine.
And back in 1922, it was kind of, it was crazy.
And, you know, they did not want women on the fire department at all.
They just did not.
And somehow you got in there.
I did.
And I stayed because a lot of the women, when they get hired on, they leave.
About six months to a year, they leave.
Because if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Yes, yes, yes.
And the guys don't want you there.
They really don't, you know.
So I did that for eight years on the floor.
It's called fighting fires.
I was on the ladder truck company.
I was ventilating.
was on the pumper truck, putting the fire out. I was on the ambulance. And then to be honest with
you guys, I got bored. I was just going to say, did you have a favorite out of those? Um, uh, with the
bomb, the bomb, when I was a bomb tech. So I got bored on the floor because the guys, you know,
they love it. It's a big boys club and they have a lot of fun and they smoke scars and they play
cards and they do their video games in between all the calls. And it really is a boys club. But
the guys were great. I just have to say that. So I promoted it to the arson division. So I
I went through the Fire Academy, and then after that, when I was promoted to the Arson Division,
I went through the Police Academy.
Ah.
And after the Police Academy, I did that for a while.
And then I was, became a promoted to a bomb tech.
So I went through the FBI Bomb Academy and Hunter and Emma and Redstone Arsenal.
So the bomb, the bomb, being a bomb tech, it was so much fun.
I really, really enjoyed that.
The guys were great.
What I did for a living was great.
I felt like I was the main character in a spy novel.
Yeah.
Did you actually get called to a scene and have to.
yes
no susan she sat around and played video games
well you know you just learn it but how many bomb threats are there
and you have to go dissect the bomb like what
when we roll up on scene we have our trucks we have our equipment
nobody knows we're coming because it's the entertainment capital
of the world so we slither in and we slither out yes
we have a pipe bomb or we have an unknown device
we mitigate the situation and then we get the hell out of there
yeah right right right wow oh boy okay tell me
How did you know, did you watch The Bachelor?
I mean, were you a fan of The Bachelor?
How did you get to Beyond the Golden Bachelor?
Do you saw...
I watched Tristan's and Ryan's season.
That was it.
Okay.
So tell us how you got here.
So my girlfriend, Alanna, my best friend from high school, she has never missed a season.
And as soon as they advertised it, what, you guys, three years ago, two and a half years ago, I think it was.
She called me right away.
And she just said, you, I'm signing you up.
You've got to do this.
I have to do this.
I'm like, there is no way I'm putting myself on national television.
There is no way.
I am not going to do it.
But she just kept on me and on me and on me.
So I went ahead.
She had started the process.
I finished it.
I'm guessing your friends and family supported you.
How did you prepare to go on this?
What were you hoping for?
What were your expectations going on the show?
Well, when they announced mail on a Wednesday, I think it was in April,
They announced him.
I'm like, oh, okay, he's kind of good looking, you know, and I'm thinking of my brain.
And I'm like, I don't know if I want to do this.
But then I, my daughter's like, Mom, what else are you doing?
You have nothing else going on in your life.
I'm tired of calling me 10 times a day.
So, so I'm dating.
You weren't dating.
I take it prior to this.
No, I don't know you guys.
I go on a date here.
I go out and date there.
Well, I'm glad you do.
Okay.
What did it feel like when now you're there?
You're there, okay?
Getting out of that limo.
for the first time.
What were you thinking?
What were you feeling?
Because we know you as being
vivacious.
Like, energy, vivacious.
Like, what was it when you stood out
and you had to talk to him for the first time?
Tell us about those first minutes.
I had the bomb suit on.
I had the bomb suit on.
The bomb didn't go off.
I know.
You tried.
So then we just did what we needed to do.
I got dressed and honestly,
I can't remember two words.
I said to him.
but how about the women when you walked into the house just looking around i was i was like oh shit
these are beautiful gorgeous accomplished women and i was really really excited he's super excited
for the whole entire experience so how much were you able to chat with him on the first night
because you know how crazy that is it's it's a lot of women not a lot of time did you get to chat
three minutes at the three minutes it was it was three yeah and i asked him i said what are you
looking for. I said, this is what I'm looking for, because I went in with the idea, is he good
for me? Yeah, you're tall, you're handsome, you're successful. I dated that before. I wanted to get
to know who he was inside and get to know if he was right for me in my life. And you did that in
three minutes, Peg? I'm really impressed. I remember asking these questions thinking, wow. Yeah.
She wants to find out, is this a good fit for me? It was obvious and I admired it. Yeah, because that's
who are, you know, that's kind of who I, we are that way.
I didn't do that the first night.
Oh, I, my first three minutes.
No, I didn't.
I was like, oh.
And I said to him, I said, well, what are you looking for?
This is what I'm looking for.
And I said, you're looking for.
And he said, you?
I know, that was cute.
That was very cute.
Okay, so the first rose time of you, you're been up all night, the whole deal.
Were you confident?
Were you nervous?
How are you feeling?
I was so nervous, you guys.
We're in this process.
We go from our normal life.
gets wished into this, this, you know, this process of, you know, this dating, you know,
reality show.
And my heart was just pounding a million miles a minute.
And I think we, all the girls were nervous.
We're just, come on.
Did you expect your name to be called?
Did you think you were in it?
Yes.
Okay.
That's good.
Good.
Be honest.
Confidence.
Yeah.
Who was there anyone that left that you were surprised they left?
Yes.
Tracy.
I just loved Tracy.
Her and I are really good friends to this day.
And I just loved her.
And I was just, yeah, I just couldn't wrap my brain around that one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She, I heard she's got a lot of hats.
She died.
She was adorable.
All right.
So we're going to fast forward a little bit.
You get the one-on-one last week.
Let's just get right to know us.
How were you, let me just, in case, Peg, your memory is faulty, which I know it isn't.
I never had a one-on-one date.
Neither did Susan.
So we're desperate to hear all about it.
What were you feeling when you found out it would be you?
Well, I was excited.
it because, you know, I did not go into
your guns ablazing because I was not
happy with that podcast. And you can ask
my daughter. I was like, you know, I was
not happy. I'm like, I've dated those guys.
I don't want to date those narcissistic
egotistical asses anymore.
I've been there, done that.
So I really kind of, I paused
and I knew I was going to get some alone
time with him. And when I did at the
OC Fair, we were eating our
turkey legs and we were, you know, drinking
our beer and stuff. And then we had a
break. And I went to him. I said, look,
I need to ask you something.
I said, I'm glad that you apologize to all the women.
I get that.
I said, but I need to know who you are.
And I told him this.
I said, if you are that guy on that podcast, I looked him directly in the eye, I said, I don't want to date you.
I don't want to date you.
I don't waste my time and I don't want to waste your time.
And I'm sitting here like a little chihuahua because I'm like, I'm not going to open up my heart.
I've dated these guys before.
And all they do is rip your heart out and they leave you bleeding everywhere.
We often think we know our type in dating, tall, funny, a certain job, but the research shows
we're usually not the best predictors of who will actually make us the happiest.
As we often say on the Happiness Lab, our minds lie to us about all kinds of stuff, and that
definitely includes the kinds of things we need to be happy in a relationship.
That's why it helps to stay curious.
On Bumble, features like shared interests and prompts make it easy to notice right on
someone's profile initial sparks of compatibility, like a shared.
love of cooking or the same nostalgic TV shows.
Shared interests and prompts let you showcase your personality right on your profile
and connect with people who get your vibe.
And with photo and ID verification, you can feel confident the person you're talking to
is real, so you can date with a bit more confidence.
When you treat dating as exploration, instead of sticking to a rigid type, you open
yourself up to happier, more meaningful connections.
So maybe your type isn't tall, dark, and mysterious.
Maybe it's Love's podcast as much as you do.
Stay open, stay curious, and let yourself be surprised.

All I know is what I've been told, and that to have truth is a whole lie.
For almost a decade, the murder of an 18-year-old girl from a small town in Graves County, Kentucky, went unsolved,
until a local homemaker, a journalist, and a handful of girls came forward with a story.
I'm telling you, we know Quincy Kilder, we know.
A story that law enforcement used to convict six people, and that got the citizen investigator on national TV.
Through sheer persistence and nerve, this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Curran.
My name is Maggie Freeling. I'm a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, producer,
And I wouldn't be here if the truth were that easy to find.
I did not know her and I did not kill her.
Or rape or burn or any of that other stuff that y'all said.
They literally made me say that I took a match and struck and threw it on her.
They made me say that I poured gas on her.

Woo-hoo!
Can you believe it has been almost 20 years?
That's not even possible.
Well, you're the only one that looks that much different.
I look exactly the same.
We're re-watching the series from start to finish.

You're going to hear from guests like America Ferreira, Vanessa Williams, Michael Yuri, Becky Newton, Tony Plana, and so many more.
Icons, each and every one.
All of a sudden, like, someone, like, comes running up to me, and it's Selma Hayek.
And she's like, you are my ugly Betty.
And I was like, what is she even talking about?

And because we've got a very My Casa is Su Casa kind of vibe on our show,
friends always stop by.
Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet was through the Gulf of Mexico.
No, the America.
The Gulf of Mexico, continue to be it forever and ever.
It blows me away how progressive Mexico was in this moment.
They had land reform. They had labor rights.
education rights. Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place
them in their tombs for the afterlife. Listen to Hungry for History as part of the My Cultura

Watching your date with Mel,
like I said, the three of us, you know,
we leave no prisoners. He looked like he was just watching you have a great time, like your
energy. You could see that he was like, wow, look at her energy. How did you feel about that,
the whole thing? You know what, you guys? After I got an apology from him personally and we talked
about it a little bit, I realized he's not the guy that everybody's perceiving him to be.
And I suspend judgment because I really wanted to know who was inside. Yeah, he's tall, good looking,
all that great stuff. But are you right for me?
Can you get into my life, you know?
And I just let down my guards, and I just really started to have a good time.
I have a lot of energy, you guys, and I annoy the shit out of a lot of people.
That's three of us.
We said we're from the same old, remember?
The three of us, we both just all, did you see us?
We raised our hands in unison.
I mean.
But wait, I have a question.
You were so full of energy, and I loved you.
You knew every words of the song, and I was shocked to see Casey.
It didn't even look like Casey, but was his energy matching yours?
I did not see it.
Mel?
Yes.
Oh, hell no.
You know, and I believe, because, you know, getting to know him, and, you know, he's nervous.
He's a human being, you guys, just like we are.
And he was nervous as much as we were nervous.
He's got this, you know, this little jumping bean, this little Tasmanian devil.
And he's just like, well, what do I do with this?
Right. He loved you being you. But you didn't seem nervous. I was not nervous. I went in there, you guys, and I just, I wanted to be me. Be me. You love me. You hate me. I am who I am.
Can I just say, this has not worked well for me. I mean, I say the exact same things. I'm just putting that out there. I am who I am. And it's like, take me or leave me. The problem is they mostly leave me. But moving back to you.
But here's the thing, when somebody falls in love with you, they're going to fall in love with your.
authentic self. It's not that, it's not the representative. I don't want to fall in love with
anybody's representative. Oh, absolutely. That's why I have to be 100% me to be real. Kathy,
keep being you. Somebody will come along. Thank you, Peg. And you're going to make sure it happens.
How did it feel opening up to Mel about your divorce? Was that hard? No, it wasn't hard.
His wife stepped out on the marriage and my ex-husband stepped out on the marriage. So we
had that commonality and that hurt and that grief and we understood each other. But the best
was the tattoo.
Yeah.
Sharing about the tattoo.
Do you have any more?
Can we see it?
We could do that in the fantasy suite.
Can we see your tattoo?
Can we see it?
Where is it?
I'm stamp, you guys.
My husband had an affair and I got a tattoo.
Kill me.
Whatever.
There's nothing wrong with it.
But I love how you said and I'll show you.
Wait, don't you have a tattoo on your wrist
with your daughter or something?
My Pisces.
That's my Pice girl right there.
Ah.
You know, I'm a Picey girl.
Are you?
Yes.
I wonder if I'm a cancer
So cancers and Pisces are like that
Here I am, left on the cold again
There it is, Kathy's gone again
Kathy, what are you?
What do you think I am?
I don't know.
Tourist the bowl.
Oh, my sister, no, we get along as well too.
You're just stubborn.
I'm not.
I am not stubborn.
No, I really am not.
I'm not kidding.
Strong willed.
I'm not strong-willed, I'm not stubborn.
It's a better word.
There you go.
I'm not.
But, okay, so.
Well, wait, wait.
Did you think you were, did you even think about the possibility of getting that date rose that night?
Or is that furthest thing for your mind from your mind?
For the thing to my mind.
I was expecting them to call all the other girls.
I was waiting for the other girls, you know, other women's names to be called.
So I was a little taken back, to be honest with you.
No, no, I meant on your date, on your one-on-one, when he gave you.
When he gave you the rose.
Yeah.
Oh, girl, we had some connection going on there.
See, I love this.
We both had that.
There was a moment that we both looked in each other's eyes, and it was electrifying.
And I was like, oh, shit, I'm in trouble.
I think we're going to vomit.
Priceless.
Because when we met you, when we were there, you were in a different place.
You hadn't had a one-on-one date yet.
And you said it on the show.
You talked about chatty women, and I really, I empathize, or I see myself in you as well.
First of all, high energy, but also, you know, women, groups of the,
women to me are like, they're little, you know, stay away. That's how I am. And when you said
you spent time in the, in the firehouse with men, I, you know, I tend to get along with men
better than women's for the same reason, like chatty. I hate to say chatty Kathy's, but you know,
you said it. And I wondered, how was that? Like, it was different. You guys, it wasn't good
nor bad, because there's no good and bad in life. It's just different. So I'm used to directness.
I'm used to no bullshit with the guys.
And then I come into the, yeah.
And, you know, I have 25 years, you guys, I was with the guys.
That's a long time.
Yes, it is.
You know, one of the girls told me I needed to have more feathers.
And I'm like, no, I don't.
I don't.
I like who I am.
I like to, I know, and if you're like your life.
I'm honest.
I'm direct and I'm no bullshit kind of a girl.
And I'll tell you, Peg, what my line is.
When men say to me, I'm too much.
I say to them, no, no, no, I'm not too much.
You're just not enough for me.
You go.
And that's, that's truly what I think.
So, okay, so the drama with Nicole.
Oh, by the way, we've renamed.
Just wait, wait, wait.
Tell me how you felt with the pool party going on, please.
Oh, you guys, you're going to laugh, you're going to laugh so hard.
You forgot to laugh so hard, right?
I love this girl.
So you guys know how hard production is.
It is hard.
You know, if all those people out there knew what we went through 15 hours a day, 17 hours a day of filming,
you're exhausted.
You've got your adrenaline running.
There's a whole other world to this.
After the rose, the first rose,
after we did the cheerleading competition,
and then we come back to do the pool party,
and I'm exhausted, right?
So I do my couple of cannonballs in the pool.
That was great.
I went and took a nap.
I have to use the ladies' room.
I'll be back.
And when they find you, you had your power nap by that point.
Okay, but I, so Susan and I...
So I missed the entire drama.
So they woke me at.
They come on the door and they're like, they're like, you've got to get up.
So I'm like this.
I'm just, I'm freakinging.
I got goul out of my mouth.
I got the sleep of my eyes.
And I'm like, okay, let's go.
Let's go.
And that was how that all.
Did the women tell you, like she was all over on the pool, like a climbing tree, I think they said.
Yeah.
You know what?
You guys, I just don't pay attention to that stuff.
And that's the truth.
I just, I love this.
That's because you're confident.
Yes.
That's because you're confident.
Yes.
I'm not there for male.
I wasn't there for a woman drama.
I was really there to.
See, if this man could be my life, you know?
Right, right.
No one can resist a rule of culture.
So here's one for the dating files.
Rule of culture number 72.
Chemistry isn't just vibes, it's values.
Because what's the point of matching with someone if you can't talk about the shows you binge,
the books you dog year, or all the hot takes, you'll defend it brunch?
I mean, you definitely have friends who have met their partners on Bumble, and it makes sense.
It's not just about matching with someone.
It's about finding someone who gets your references, your obsessions, your whole vibe.
With shared interests and prompts, you don't just see a profile.
You get a glimpse of someone's personality, which makes it even easier to start conversations that actually lead somewhere.
Plus, with photo and ID verification, you can trust that the person you're talking to is real.
With that added peace of mind, it's so much easier to show up as your full self.
So whether your rule of culture is, the best first date start with the shared hot take on Renaissance,
or compatibility is having the same hometown bodega order, download Bumble, and turn those connections into something bigger.
Download Bumble and start your love story.

A story that law enforcement used to convict six people,
and that got the citizen investigator on national TV.
Through sheer persistence and nerve,
this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Curran.
My name is Maggie Freeling.
I'm a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, producer,
and I wouldn't be here if the truth were that easy to find.
I did not know her and I did not kill her,
or rape or burn, or any of that.
other stuff that y'all said it.
They literally made me say that I took a match and struck and threw it on her.
They made me say that I poured gas on her.

We played mother and son on the show,
but in real life, we're best friends.
And I'm all grown up now.
Welcome to our new podcast, Viva Betty!
Yay!
Woo-hoo!
Can you believe it has been almost 20 years?
That's not even possible.
Well, you're the only one that looks that much different.
I look exactly the same.
We're re-watching the series from start to finish
and getting into all the fashions, the drama,
and the behind-the-scenes moments that you've never heard before.
You're going to hear from guests like America Ferreira,
Vanessa Williams, Michael Yuri, Becky Newton, Tony Plana, and so many more.
Icons, each and everyone.
All of a sudden, like, someone, like, comes running up to me, and it's Selma Hayek.
And she's like, you are my ugly bitchy.
And I was like, what is she even talking about?

In early 1988, federal agents raced to track down the gang they suspect of importing millions of dollars worth of heroin into New York from Asia.
We had 30 agents ready to go with shotguns and rifles and you name it.
But what they find is not what they expected.
Basically, your stay-at-home moms were picking up these large amounts of heroin.
They go, is this your daughter? I said yes.
They go, oh, you may not see her for like 25 years.
Caught between a federal investigation
and the violent gang who recruited them,
the women must decide who they're willing to protect
and who they dare to betray.
Once I saw the gun, I tried to take his hand
and I saw the flash of light.

Welcome to Decoding Women's Health.
I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pointer, chair of Women's Health and Gynecology at the Atria Health Institute in New York City.
On this show, I'll be talking to top researchers and top clinicians, asking them your burning questions and bringing that information about women's health and midlife directly to you.
A hundred percent of women go through menopause.
It can be such a struggle for our quality of life.
But even if it's natural, why should we suffer through it?
The types of symptoms that people talk about is forgetting everything.
I never used to forget things.
They're concerned that, one, they have dementia.
And the other one is, do I have ADHD?
There is unprecedented promise with regard to cannabis and cannabinoids,
to sleep better, to have less pain, to have better mood,
and also to have better day-to-day life.

So your first impression when you met all the women,
and I'm speaking of Nicole right now,
did it change over time?
Well, I have the closet.
I had the big room, and Nicole was in the room.
So did we.
I've heard.
So I want to have a podcast that says inside the closet.
In the big room.
I was going to say, or words from the big closet.
Yeah, so you really get to know these women once you have, I had Nicole and I had Cheryl and I had Debbie, I had Carla, I had all of us in there.
So let me just put it this way.
Who Nicole was at the house was a little bit different than now who I'm seeing who she is.
Well, and so we are struggling because our show we felt was pure.
So this whole thing of monetizing, becoming an influencer, this whole shtick that she's producing even yet now online.
How do you feel about those things that she said about, you know,
I'm kissing for America and, you know, the women on the first season?
How do you feel about that, that whole scenario?
Here's how I feel about it.
I, you know what, everybody has motives in life and we all have to make a buck.
But don't come on a dating show and take somebody else's spot that's truly there to find love.
Oh my God, we love you, Peg.
That's perfect.
Well said.
I don't have a problem she wants to go and be an influencer.
Go do your thing.
Because you took somebody else's spot like me and like you guys saw on TV.
I just, a nice guy.
Did anyone confront her?
Did you?
Did anyone confront Nicole and say, hey, girlfriend, wrong thing to say about the women from season one,
wrong thing to be here, you know, here for the wrongness.
You don't have to give us names.
No, yeah, I don't have to give us name, but did anyone confront her?
I will, when I see her, you know, I will tell her that was very rude.
It was a great, but what's been said is she was a lot of fun in the house.
She did people's makeup, like she was good in the beginning until all of us started coming out.
We were there, because we were the first ones, we didn't know what influencing was.
We were there to find love.
So now your second season, you people have watched it, right?
So you know what can come of it.
Susan and I did not know we were going to have a podcast.
We did not know where our lives were going to be.
But I want to know if any of the other women wanted, like told her.
her to chill out. Did anyone do it? When you gave up for your one-on-one, where people like,
oh, you won't believe what Nicole said. Guess what she did or said? I mean, you don't have to
give names, but if you want to feel free. You saw Cindy talking about it, and you saw, you saw
Robin about it. Yes. And to be honest with me personally, you guys, I got bored with it. I'm
like, bye, I'm going to take another nap. I don't have time for this. I mean, I don't have time for
this. My focus is male, and that's why I'm here. But those guys dove into it. And I really wish they
would have called, gave Mel the name.
Because I think from seasons past, that person that does the telling never ends up good
for them.
And I thought she handled it well.
I did.
She planted that seed.
She said, there's things going on.
I'm not going to be the chatty Kathy girl that comes and tells you all the.
You know what, you guys, come on.
We're 60-year-old women.
You know, say, hey, look, Nicole's here not for the right reason.
This is what I heard.
Now, what you do with this information is your business, but I need to tell you that.
because I am a woman of integrity and self-respect and self-dignity.
That's how, you know, I would...
But what Susan said is true.
It never plays well for the person who, quote-unquote, rats them out.
And you're, it's just so interesting.
I have to say personally, it is so interesting in hearing your take because...
She could give a shit less.
Well, none of us, we didn't care either.
I mean, I was in the stupid drama, but we didn't care.
like we knew that
how quickly we forget his name.
Gary was not our guy.
But I think that's the right way to play it, right?
Yeah, it is.
Absolutely.
All right.
So this week, you guys have the final group date before hometowns.
How were you feeling going into this week?
Coming, going into our final group date.
I'm excited, you guys.
I'm really excited because I know Mel and I have a connection.
And I can feel it.
and I know he feels it.
And, you know, when we look at each other,
there's that electric kind of a connection between us.
So you don't focus on, I mean, I don't know because I wasn't there
if he has connections with other women.
So you took the words right out of my mouth.
Did you feel any certain way when he was kissing Cindy or going somewhere with...
Honestly, you guys, I just really, honestly,
I just focused on that connection with him and I.
And I knew in my heart, deep down in my soul, that we had something special.
I felt it.
I felt it at our one-on-one day.
So wait, how was it on your one-on-one time on the group date?
Because we saw it on your one-on-one.
We saw you having a blast.
But when you were in the mud bath, tell me how did that feel?
Because the fact that you got to do that on that group date was pretty amazing, I thought.
I loved it.
I got, we had so much fun.
We gave them laugh.
And that's one thing about our connection is it's fun.
And it's lightheartedness.
There's no any of that.
other stuff it's just we're enjoying life and i told them in the beginning our heavy lifting it's over
with we've raised the kids we've done the career we've put them through college you know now it's
time to really just enjoy each other and enjoy life how many kids do you have peg one 28 dakota and i love
that you made me cry well she got all teared up when the when the kids were oh i know yeah we were
saying you how lucky were you that you got to see your kid on the show yeah we didn't get that uh so
tell us about your hometown what's it going to mean to you tell us oh wait when he did you well obviously
you felt a connection were you surprised at who he didn't pick when you mean for hometowns no
the two that left yeah you were not surprised well I don't know and the next question as a journalist
why and Cindy and Debbie we're going to be there with you you yes I knew I knew that tell me why why were you
nuts. We were surprised that Cheryl didn't stick around.
I just, getting to know Mel, a lot, you guys, because our one-on-one date was 10 hours,
so I got to spend a lot of time with him, 10 hours.
So I really, it is, it's lucky.
So I really got to know him.
And when I, you know, when you get to know somebody, I just knew that that connection wasn't
strong enough with Cheryl, nor that could be cool.
Okay.
We're getting a little short on time.
Come on.
tease us. Tell us about your hometown date.
What's it going to be like?
It's going to be so fun, you guys.
Stay tuned because I take him to the firehouse.
Of course.
He doesn't touch a bomb, does he?
No, no.
Wait, is your firehouse have the, you know how they don't have the things anymore?
The poles.
It's called the pole.
Is there a pole at yours?
You can touch this bomb.
You know what, Peg?
I think I just fell in love with you.
I told you.
I love it.
Wait, do you have a pole at your firehouse?
I have a poll.
So I used to joke all the time and people say, what did you do for a career?
You know, because I look at me and I'm like, well, I dance, you know, I had, I, what did I have
that I used to say?
I hung around on a pole.
I slid down the pole.
Being from Vegas, right?
Being in Vegas, like careers on the pool.
So, yes, I slid down the pole, you guys, in 1992.
That's what I did.
We've slid down.
I love this.
All right.
In one word, how would you describe your experience?
on the show on the golden bachelor in one word what would that word be amazing
amazing okay we i mean you could see it just it just your experience from what we've seen so far
looks incredible and i can't wait to see your hometown okay if you were we always ask this question
peg if you were stuck and by the way i'm just going to tell you two of the names are susan and
kathy so think carefully about the third if you were stuck on a deserted island and could only
take three women from your season. So not us. Who would they be? It would be Terry, Tracy, and
Debbie. And why? Just because I love them and they're super smart women. And I think we could,
you know, put all our little intellect together and we would survive. Each one different than the
next. One would be a humor factor. One would be she's going to know how to start a fire. Oh,
no, that's you. No, she decided to put it out.
Are they your besties from the show?
They are.
I just love them dearly.
So wait, Debbie, Tracy, and who else?
Terry.
And Terry from Houston.
That's my number one.
Her and I, we just bonded right away in the house.
That's how we were.
That's how we were.
That's how we were.
All right.
Now, it's your turn.
Oh, good.
I love saying this, Kathy.
Oh, I know.
Go for it, Susan.
Do you, we got to ask you a ton of questions.
Do you have any questions for us?
Yeah.
Who did your facelifts?
I need a little tuck.
You guys look so good.
It's just the mini, yes, and it's wonderful.
I'll tell you all about it.
Peg, I'm going to, honestly, I'm going to say this to you.
Yes, I've had a little bit of work done.
Both of us have, not major stuff.
Mini, mini.
I wish I could do what Christian are stunningly beautiful.
You know, my whole thing is about women empowering women.
You are absolutely gorgeous.
