Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. 2%. That's the number of people who take the stairs when there is also an escalator available. I'm Michael Easter. And on my podcast, 2%. I break down the science of mental toughness, fitness, and building resilience in our strange modern world.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Put yourself through some hardships, and you will come out on the other side a happier, more fulfilled, healthier person. Listen to 2%. That's TWO. percent on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the Look Back at it podcast. From 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me.
Starting point is 00:00:43 I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it with our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Listen to look back at it on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Amy Roboc alongside T.J. Holmes from the Amy and T.J. podcast. And there is so much news, information, commentary coming at you all day and from all over the place. What's fact? What's fake? And sometimes what the F. So let's cut the crap, okay? Follow the Amy and T.J. podcast, a one-stop news and pop culture shop to get you caught up and on with your day. and listen to Amy and TJ on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. This is Saigon, the story of my family and of the country that shaped us.
Starting point is 00:01:44 From I Heart Podcasts, Saigon. You don't think I'm serious about a free Vietnam? One city, a divided country, and the war that tore America apart. It's for Vietnam. They're pouring patril all over here. Freedom for Vietnam! There's a fire coming to this country and it's going to burn out everything. Listen to Saigon on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Hey, it's Edwin Castro, also known as Castro 1021. And I'm Kunky, his best friend and business manager. And we've got a new show called The 1021 Podcast. I'm taking you behind the scenes on how I became one of Twitch's most popular streamers. We also love sports. And with the World Cup right around the corner, we'll be breaking down the biggest storylines ahead of the big turn. here in the USA. Listen to the 1021 podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. This is going to be the best episode ever. And you know why? Because we're in person together. I'm in person. Oh, with you. This is crazy. I'm like, I'm making eye contact with you across the room. I am so excited.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Listen, we have, we have lots to talk about. and it's going to be even better. Like, this is going to be probably one of our best episodes. I was just telling Charity, when we're on Zoom together, it feels like we're working, but when we're in front of each other... This is not work. All bets are off right now? All bets are off.
Starting point is 00:03:20 I'm in a mood. I'm coming off from a three-weekend binger festival season, like Coachella, stagecoach. I'm headed to Vegas. Like, this is the intermission I need, you know? You have been everywhere. we're going to talk all about it because I have so many questions about stage coach. Please, we'll get into it.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Don't you worry. But let's start out with Get Real. Shall we? Where shall we begin? I actually don't even know. I got there right at 4.30 right when it started. I was literally texted her. I was like, where are you?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Listen, I was, again, I was coming off of a bender. I had to recover for a socket. No, getting there, I, it just was like, You know, when you, like, walk in a space and you, like, see way too many people, my brain, like, it doesn't, like, produce a, like, I don't think a positive effect. It was, like, wait, I know literally everybody in this room, and I didn't, like, my body almost was, like, overload, overload, like, I couldn't get overstimulated, like, truly. Because you know all the Vanderpump Villa people. Correct. We know all the Mormon wives.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Mm-hmm. There were a lot of bachelor people there. There was a ton of bachelor people there. I met Grant for the first time. Wait, that was your first time meeting him? That was the first time meeting him. Wait, really? Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Wait, how was that? I feel like he's just uninterested in this franchise. Honestly, fair. And I feel like we've been trying to include him, like, even when we were there. I think that's like, I think that's what he wants, though. Like, I think that's just, like, I'm learning, I think, and I could be wrong. But I think that's his personality at this point. Because I'm like, I too have seen or had too many, like, in-person interactions that are, like, very similar to that.
Starting point is 00:04:59 And I'm like, I think that's just him, you know? Right. I'm like, do you hate us all? Don't think he hates us. I mean, Grant, come on the podcast. That's the first thing I said to him because he said he moved to West Hollywood. He lives here now. He's here.
Starting point is 00:05:11 He's here. Amazing. Yes. So. Why is he not in the key today? I feel like I've talked enough shit that I'm like, come on the podcast. Honestly, I feel like Nick Bile at that point. I'm like talking shit.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Come on the podcast. No, I would love for him to come and sit down. I feel like, you know, there's things I still need answers to. I need to learn more about him. Truly. Truly. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:35 I really did love the Vanderpump Villa people that I met. Who did you meet? I met Gabby. Okay. And Cher. Love. Love. First of all.
Starting point is 00:05:45 My favorite people. Stunning on TV in person. I was looking at Sherry. I was like, you are the prettiest person I've seen in my life. So it's Gabby. I wish they left parts from when we were on there. Like every time I had an interaction with her, I was like, I'm so sorry. Like, you're just so.
Starting point is 00:06:00 She's distracting. No, like she's gorge. Like, I love her. I love her. Great people. Okay, I'm glad you met like two of the greatest girls. How did you mean the guys? I just met Hagan.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Okay. And I was begging him to come on this podcast. I said, it's giving Butler. Please come on my podcast. He is made for reality TV. That's why I said. I'm like, he's the next, like, he's the next big thing. If like, if it's in his car, it's, I believe it.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Because I'm like, he's so witty. He's so quick on his, like, feet. Like, his responses are insane. And I'm like, this show would. I'm sorry, like also, also we love Lisa. Like, let's just like, that's a given. Also stunning person. But I'm like, out of the cast, this show would, where would we be without Hagan, you know?
Starting point is 00:06:44 Agreed. And Marciano a bit. As much as we love you, Marciano, but as much as we don't want to, like, acknowledge that, yes. Like, I'm like, he is kind of good TV. He is good TV. Like, he's there for the plot. And I can appreciate that, you know, it gets to a point where you just, you know what? All bets are off.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Like, let's just dive in deep. I want to get into Mormon. wives. Which part? Let's start out with who was there. So Taylor was missing. Right. Michaela was missing. Yes. And was that it? Jen wasn't there and obviously Whitney. I don't even, are she like gone? I don't even know. She's still part of the show.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Anyway, Layla, Miranda, Jessie, Macy. Was that it? I think so. And then the new show. Was Dad Talk there? Any of the Dad Talked there? There was no, I don't, I don't remember seeing any of the dads. Thank God. No, right? I'm like, actually, no, thank you.
Starting point is 00:07:43 But yeah, I don't think they were there. I watched Van der Punt Villa for Charity and the girls. Hello. And when I got to that Dag Talk episode, I haven't even, I haven't finished watching it. So give me, give me where we stopped off that. I just, it reminds me so much of just like the way dating kind of feels in this world. And the way that, like, Like, you should just be supporting your wives.
Starting point is 00:08:05 And if you get opportunities amazing, but they were like, Dad Talk needs to stand on her own two feet. And I was like, no way it does it. I know what this like reminds me. It takes me back to the episode that when we had Kat here. It's like a man having a pod, not a podcast, a man having a tripod. And what it will do to the brain chemistry, it'll alter it. And I think theirs is like significantly altered because they've been around too many tripods.
Starting point is 00:08:30 You know what I mean? Like that's their entire life. so they think it's something. There's been too many ring lights. No. It's doing something to the frontal cortex. It's altered. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:08:40 What did you think about the new show? Do you think that means that they're going to kind of like pivot away from the original? I think yes and no. But I'm like if I'm being honest, like I, for the sake of like obviously just TV, I hope it does well. But I just don't know if it will because I'm like it's not really. One, I'm like, I don't know these girls, like the new girls. Like I think they're all like. like TikTokers and influencers, which is like great.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Obviously they have like their established fan bases already, but I just don't know like how they'll be on TV. Like I always feel like internet is different than reality TV. And it's like obviously we're seeing the shift of like influencers go into reality TV. But it's like, are you guys batshit crazy or not? Like, you know? It's hard because they struck gold with Mormon wives. They did.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And that was TikTokers. 100%. So it feels like kind of maybe. be like a housewives kind of a thing where it's like let's see yeah if we can keep this going different places we'll have to see i need to see how the dynamic is i'm like you know my expectations are not significantly high and that's okay i want to be surprised so i hope i hope but i might be abstaining from that one really secret lives and mormon wives orange county yes um i i i am i don't have high expectations but you know we'll see i'm going to give it a chance you're going to watch i'm going to
Starting point is 00:09:59 try and it better captivate me in the first episode. That's all you got with me because the attention span is low. I have, okay. There was one show, another one, if we're on the path of talking shit that I'm not super excited about. Which one? Wait, wait. And that's the girls, the one with Chloe. Wait, okay. Are you excited? I'm only excited because I'm like, I just love Chloe and Malika. Like, that's it. I love Chloe too, but I feel like we've tried this format so many times. She did cocktails with Chloe. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They like, I mean, they're just masters of spin-offs at this point.
Starting point is 00:10:32 I would like Chloe just to have her own. And then whoever's in it's in it. Agreed. I don't really know if I care about these other girls besides. I mean, I only care about Malika. Right. Literally Chloe and Malika. So.
Starting point is 00:11:00 The million-dollar nannies. I was sitting in front of them. I didn't even see that happen. I didn't even know what it's about. Like, why aren't they handing out the cocktails? Because I said, I can't do it anymore. I was next to the love overboard people. I said, I have to remove myself. No, you definitely need a question. I needed to go to the bar.
Starting point is 00:11:13 So I missed the mob and million-dollar nannies. Okay, so million-dollar nannies is basically, it's like they're all nannies. Like, that's their job. But then they go to Abiza, and then they become nannies for these, like, insane families. And it's like... That's kind of interesting. Yeah. And so I'm like, honestly, like...
Starting point is 00:11:32 I guess I like the concept. We'll see. Okay. I feel like it's just going to be like a giant vacation for them, but they're also working. So I could be intrigued with that one. I'm like, and the girls were nice. Like I met, they were, we were sitting in front of them. So I'm like, okay, you guys have like sweet personalities.
Starting point is 00:11:47 They're already a step up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we'll see. Give it a shot. What are your thoughts on the mob? The mob has both. Your boy Shane in there. It has Shane and has Maria.
Starting point is 00:11:58 I feel like that's going to be interesting. And Joe Judas. No, it's actually. Okay, when we really dissect the cast for a second, I'm like, and Bruno, I'm like, hello. Bruno is on it. Like, it's, I'm, I will be watching. It feels like they were, like, going with, like, an Italian theme a bit. I think so.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Like, you know, like, I know Maria's going to lean full, like this, like, she's waiting for a moment. She's waited for a moment for this, the mob. Like, this is for her. I was shocked, though. And her entire family. I feel like she's been, like, holding out. Like, we haven't seen her on any shows. She's not on paradise.
Starting point is 00:12:32 She's been landlo. I was kind of shocked to see her pop out on this one. I thought we would have seen her in another Bachelor franchise. I'm not because isn't this like it's basically similar to like traitors like mafia-ish, right? I think. I think that's the gist of, I could be wrong, but that's from my understanding. And I'm like, I think this is the perfect lane for Maria. Is it not?
Starting point is 00:12:53 Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm interested to see her in a context outside of Bachelor editing. Oh, yeah. Because on Villa, I didn't even see her speak. Dude, I was shocked. I'm not going to lie, because I was like, watching it back, I said, was Mercedes or Maria there? No, I said, where is Maria?
Starting point is 00:13:11 Like, I don't remember either. I was like, wait. And I'm like, I wonder if just all her stuff just got next out. It'll be interesting to see her in that context. I personally don't know her. I think she's amazing. Oh, this is like, when I say this is her. Okay, this is her.
Starting point is 00:13:27 This is her. I hope she brings her dad on. Honestly. That would be iconic. No, he would thrive too. What do you think about Shane? I feel like I'm happy that he's having a moment. I am.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Like I think he's, I mean, obviously I've met him. I feel like he's a great guy. So, yeah, I'm supportive of it. All right. Like, I, what else can I say? We're excited to see. I'm excited to see him on a show. I feel like he's going to, I feel like he'll do good.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Yeah. I feel like he's like, just from hanging with him this past weekend, I feel like he's just like a very... Because I want to get into all that, but we can't jump around. I need to... You saw so many of Taylor's guys. So many. Okay, one more.
Starting point is 00:14:09 One more. Okay. Speaking of Traders, Mora Higgins got announced. Love. Love her. On dancing. And Sierra. Sierra.
Starting point is 00:14:16 When I saw that announcement, I love Mora. But Sierra, like, needed this. Let me tell you something. This season's for the girls. Like, you know how, like, there are seasons that are just specifically for the girls. This is going to be one of them. It's her season. A girl is winning this season.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Sorry, we've had two men back to back when, love them both. Like, okay, we're moving on. This is for the girls. I don't even know who else is getting announced. It doesn't matter. Experience Megan Maroney live on her only Canadian tour date. June 20th in Toronto. Her radio wants to send you and a friend with travel from tripcentral.ca.
Starting point is 00:14:54 The smart way to book travel. Two nights hotel, $1,000 cash. Plus the new album on vinyl. Cloud 9, available now. a free Iheart radio lab. Listen to Pure Country for 10 minutes. Win your way to Megan Maroney. World is hard on beautiful things.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Every day you listen is another chance to win. 2%. That is the number of people who take the stairs when there is also an escalator available. I'm Michael Easter. And on my podcast, 2%. I break down the science of mental toughness, fitness, and building resilience
Starting point is 00:15:32 in our strange modern world. I'll be speaking with writers, researchers, and other health and fitness experts, and more, to look past the impractical and way too complex pseudoscience that dominates the wellness industry. We really believe that seed oils were inherently inflammatory. We got it wrong. Many of the problems that we are freaked out about in the world are the result of stress. Put yourself through some hardships, and you will come out on the other side a happier, more fulfilled, healthier person.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Listen to 2%. That's TWO% on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do a little Kim?
Starting point is 00:16:27 Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jett. And I'm Alex English. episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack,
Starting point is 00:16:53 so I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now, so. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey there, folks, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes here. And we know there is a lot of news coming at you these days from the war with Iran to the ongoing Epstein fallout, government shutdowns, high-profile trials. And what the hell is that Blake lively thing about anyway? We are on it every day, all day. Follow us, Amy and TJ for news updates throughout the day. Listen to Amy and TJ on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money.
Starting point is 00:17:52 It's Financial Literacy Month and the podcast Eating While Broke is bringing real conversations about money, growth and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha. Landrum Pierre as they shared their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything. But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job.
Starting point is 00:18:22 There's an economic component to community striving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work. unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network
Starting point is 00:18:40 on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. We have Dancing with the Stars The Next Pro. I'm excited because Ezra's sister. I love Steph. Steph is going to be on it. We'll be rooting for her. No, truly. Number one fan.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I love her down. I think it's an interesting concept. I will say, like, I wonder how the actual pros, like, feel, and the girls on troop because I don't know if you know Hayley, I think it's Haley Bill's which is Jenna's niece. She's insane. Like she is probably one of the most like talented
Starting point is 00:19:17 like dancers that's been in troupe and I'm like oh I think everyone's like anticipating or expecting for her to be like the next pro but then I'm like oh this kind of like ruffles things up a little bit so I don't know like I wonder who's like going to take the season off but I'll be watching nonetheless saving the best for last
Starting point is 00:19:35 we are renewed. for Bachelor in Paradise and Bachelor 30, which is going to be insane. That is crazy that we've had 30 seasons. Is it not? Like, I'm like, this is going to probably be, this is the season. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:53 It's going to be huge. Also, this paradise, because I'm like, where are these people coming from? That's my, like, who, tell me your top three people that you need to see on the beach. Because I want, when I say, if we're going, like, we think this is the, like, we have no choice.
Starting point is 00:20:07 but to go big or truly go home. Yes. And I need, like, complete and total chaos. Like, I don't need anything cute. I want, like, give me, give it to me, you know? Yeah, I want, like, throwback to the OG seasons. I need Victoria on there. Like, boom, boom, room.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Right. Like, craziness. Bring Peter back down. Like, I want nonsense. Yeah. Let's get Fuller down there. Let's get Kelly Flanagan. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:31 And I really want to see Susie again. Oh, Susie is like an angel. We need a good man down there, though. Yes, with someone who's, like, lined up for her. Correct. Like, specific. We need to, like, do some behind the scenes work before. Yeah. Okay. I agree with that. I need Peter there. I need Peter there. I want Peter back. Because I don't know what he got going on his real life, which I don't think is anything significant. No tea, no shade. You know what? I could see them doing Peter's Bachelor again.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Really? Couldn't you? That'd be so huge. He would actually probably do it, which is crazy. And they did another. pilot two times. He was the only other bachelor that was, what's his name? The pilot on my season? No. Okay, because I said, I'm so sorry. A pilot way back when, he had two seasons. Jake Pavelka. So they love giving pilots. But Jake didn't have two seasons. That was Brad Wilmack, the hot restaurant tour from Austin, Texas. Okay. Well, if we're giving people two seasons, obviously me. Right. Correct. Number one. Clearly, I got Pilot Pee. Or they could do Double season, pilot B, pilot, Rachel, guys and girls.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Producer chiming in, I fully support that idea. That would be so much. That would be insane. No, I don't think that could be on camera because that would be the craziest season. No, and that's, is that not what we meet or want? Rob Mills, if you're listening. Yeah. So who else do you want to see in Paradise besides Peter?
Starting point is 00:21:52 Um, oh my gosh. Okay. Like, that's a guy. I want grand down there. Grand, yes. I do. Like, will he shine? I hope.
Starting point is 00:22:05 I want to see Leeds down there. Latia. How could we... That's what she wouldn't go, though. She probably wouldn't. But I'm like, that's what Paradise needs. Like, I don't want everyone who's like, I don't want it to be this happy kumbaya moment.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Like, it's like, you have some friends, some people that you know, but then it's also like, should Latia bring some Mormon wives with her? She should. I think she should bring Laila. And Lila, like, yeah. I think she would like flirt and do what she needs to do. Miranda, I want the best for her.
Starting point is 00:22:34 I really do. Like, I've gotten to know her and I'm like, oh, she just is like a good person. And I'm like, it just, it's very interesting that she is like a part of that cast because I feel like she's just in like a league of her own. Again, no tea, no shade. I'm just, I always speak truth. So that's just what it is. I'm like, she needs, like, she's in the good headspace.
Starting point is 00:22:51 So I'm like, she needs someone good. So I would, I would want her there. Yeah. I think Bachelor should do what Netflix did with perfect match and like kind of like go from all over there. I agree. Like if we had like Marciano down there. Hello, let's shake things up. Look at us our producing.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Okay, let's shake it up. Can we talk stage church? Yes, let's get into stage church. Okay, tell me everything. Oh, my God. Okay, honestly, like, I don't know why I went. I do know I went to be boots on the ground for me. No, truly.
Starting point is 00:23:20 I mean, I will say Saturday was the craziest night, which was the day, I don't know if anyone heard. The whole world heard. There was a desert sandstorm that we had to be. evacuate the festival grounds, which I, when I tell you, all I heard was like the purge sirens and red screen saying evacuate. I was like, oh, I was like, the world's ending. I was like, this is it. No, it was insane. Like, you can't see. I was like, I'm going to lose like my eyesight. Like, it was actually like this year. I genuinely felt like I was like, I'm sorry, like love the troops
Starting point is 00:23:54 and thank you for your service. But I felt like I was in like a war zone. Like it was very scary. Like very scary. But everything that happened afterwards. So tell me what happened after. There was like a little party. There was a party. So we ended up like all like I was with like Alex and Andrew Justin. First of all how did Justin get there? He gets straight off the plane from Africa.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Literally I was like, did they drop him off? No, I said you just were in Africa like two days ago. I'm like, why are you here? Like what do you mean? I was like, wait, is this an old picture? No, he was fully there and fully present, which I'm like, I'm actually like, I love. I love him. I love him too.
Starting point is 00:24:32 insane, so funny. No, Justin is literally so funny. So I was like actually glad that he was there. So yes, with all of them, Rachel Kirkconnell, Shane was there. He was with us and like Joey and Kelsey. So we ended up all going back to like where they were staying just because we were like, we don't know what's like going to happen.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Like do we go out? Do we like stay in for the rest of the night? And it literally turned into just like, it felt like I was in college again. And I'm like, I love this so much. It was like the most insane. Like I was like, oh, this is the after party. I'm like, we don't need Zingiar.
Starting point is 00:25:01 We don't need. piece of slam. I was like, this is the party. It was so much fun, like, insane. I wish, I mean, Alex probably has some actual, like, documentation from the night. We're going to have to ask them when they get here. Yes. We would dive in specifically with them, too, because it was great. But then after everything kind of calmed down, we were literally there for like three hours. We went to Zinnard, which is like this massive after party. And that is when I ran into some of Taylor's boys. Who did you run into? I met Casey. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:32 And I'm like, oh my gosh, you know how much I love that man. You love Casey. But like meeting him in person, I was like, I don't know if it could, it, I didn't expect it to get better. What was it like meeting him? Like, he's tall. Sorry, I'm going in right now. Like, this is out of respect. Love you done.
Starting point is 00:25:51 I'm like taking notes. Like, okay. Tall. Tall, I mean, he had these overalls with obviously nothing on arms. I was like, oh, chiseled. His eyes, Rachel, are like, piercing blue. Like, oh my God. It's like, no, he, I'm again, built by a woman.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Built by a woman. So, Rachel, how's dating going for you? Because I don't know what you're, I don't know what you're waiting on. She goes, Rachel, you need to figure this out real quick. I literally texted, I literally texted Rachel. I literally texted Rachel, you need to figure this out very quickly. Because I'm like, yeah. You know what?
Starting point is 00:26:27 We love Casey. Do you? We do. So, who else did you mean? So what's next? That's not giving me enough. What's next, Rachel? My therapist says I can't date any more guys than reality TV.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Okay, well, we haven't seen him yet. So technically he hasn't been on reality TV, so what do you say? That's true. Until they're on TV, then I can't talk to anyone. That's fair, but, like, we will have to give him a chance. Well, you know what? He 3D printed our sign. There we go.
Starting point is 00:26:57 But, you know, hopefully he's bachelor, maybe. We'll see. We don't know how Taylor sees his own. turn his out? He has my vote. Y'all know. I'm like, I love anything that is built by a woman. Hello. He would be a great bachelor. No, I know he would. Who else did you meet? You met Conrad King of stage coach. Yes. He was very fun, very vibrant, good time. And that's, yeah. Was he just in his element? I think so. It was like, he's done this before, as we know. He hasn't missed stage coach. I don't think since he came out the womb. Was he at the party? He was. He was. That's literally where. Everyone was invited. Literally was

Starting point is 00:29:09 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Each episode, we pick you here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 was big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack, so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
Starting point is 00:29:53 We also have AIDS on the table right now, so. Then you're finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Amy Roboc alongside T.J. Holmes from the Amy and T.J. podcast. And there is so much news, information, commentary coming at you all day and from all over the place.
Starting point is 00:30:25 What's fact? What's fake? And sometimes what the F. So let's cut the crap, okay? Follow the Amy and T.J. podcast. one-stop news and pop culture shop to get you caught up and on with your day. And listen to Amy and TJ on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month and the podcast Eating While Broke is bringing real conversations about money, growth and building your future. This month hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha
Starting point is 00:31:03 Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything, but at first it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fail is they don't have money to pay for food.
Starting point is 00:31:30 They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. We need this story behind you, Kat, Alex, Andrew. I'm like, I'm going to get in trouble here. No, okay. So obviously this was while we were at the house still, waiting for things to settle and trying to figure out if we were going to actually go to an after party or not.
Starting point is 00:32:02 We like all like just gathered on the front porch. which obviously it's like a huge house, so the front porch fit like 15 of us. We're all like sitting in a circle and just like, I mean, really just shooting the shit. Like just having fun. I mean, obviously drinking beer. Well, I wasn't drinking beer, but like drinking beer.
Starting point is 00:32:19 I was taking shots. Like, it was just crazy. And let me tell you something. And we'll wait for Andrew to come in. He, there's a photo of him. I don't know. There's like three different photos. He went like this.
Starting point is 00:32:31 I can't even do it because I'm like, I'm in a romper. Like his legs like basically did like a straddle. he rocked my head so hard and like I thought out Not him giving you a concussion No straight up like and everyone was like Oh my God but like I didn't feel it until like it was like It was a very delayed reaction for me
Starting point is 00:32:47 I was like it's the tequila like No literally literally all I see him get up he's like Oh my God I'm so sorry so that photo And then like all you see me in the corner is like this Is him kicking my head It was chaos but like Well she better atone for his sins when he gets here No he hasn't stopped apologizing which I'm like
Starting point is 00:33:03 Thank you every time you see me say sorry and then stop For ever. Forever. Forever. I have such bad fomo. No. I wish you were there. I feel like I was there through pictures.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Yeah. And then there was one more person. Who else? Lana Del Rey's ex. Oh my God. Clayton, yes. He found me. Or not found me, but like he recognized me because I'm, you know, I'm really like la la
Starting point is 00:33:27 land and it's fine. Also, we've not met them. Correct. So he comes up to me. He's like, hey, and I'm like, oh my God, hi. And like, yeah. So it was very brief, very brief interaction, but he was very excited to be at stagecoach, which love that.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Like, he is a country star. Oh, that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Was he like singing? No, I, apparently I'm like, I wish you would have sung a song for me. Yeah. Didn't know, yeah. Oh, I totally forgot that he's a country singer.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Yeah, but he was having the time of his life too. So I think I'm like, did I forget anyone if I did, sorry, but I think that was it. I think that's everyone you told us. Yeah. Do you remember when stagecoach used to be like the Paradise pre-game? Literally, I was like, in my head, I mean, I know people probably still think this happens, but I'm like, most people are like obviously in relationships now or just like not really trying to do too much intermingling. But like in my head, I always think I'm like, gosh, remember when it was like, Dylan, not, Hannah and Dylan's season. And like that did not happen this week as far as I know.
Starting point is 00:34:24 I'm like, I don't know of any like hookups or anything. But, you know, we are all just like one big family now. So I think. True. Vibes are very different, which. True. In a good way, until we shake some stuff back up. I was going to say, until we have a new season of The Bachelor and all the new girls.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Right. Then it'll be so interesting. Yeah. No, that's when I'm like, I wish it was after. I wish we had already filmed Paradise and then stagecoach happened because I think that's... I think they also know better than to say or do anything around you because it will end up on this podcast. You know what, and that's called respect. And we tell them, though, it's going to end up on a podcast.
Starting point is 00:35:00 And you know what? Don't say anything wrong. me that you don't want. At your own risk. Like, you know. Truly. But I do keep my word. I only yet when it's necessary. Absolutely. When it's needed. We need to make a headline or two. We are going to take turns going back and forth asking each other festival style would you
Starting point is 00:35:20 rather. So let's get into the first one. Starting off, would you rather lose your phone on day one or your wallet on day three? Oh, my wallet. Easily. I'm so sorry. I hate to be the person. I can't function without the phone. But it's like I can, but at a festival, like that's certainly not ideal. No, you're calling your friends. Where are you? Maps.
Starting point is 00:35:42 I mean, everything is there. It's really hard to communicate. Probably go home if I lost my phone. Yeah, very valid. Okay. Would you rather be stuck in a 45-minute bathroom line or miss your favorite artist? 45-minute bathroom line. Yeah, but then I would also sneak off and try to make that quicker somewhere somehow.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Behind the porta-potty. Yeah, listen. If it's behind the porta potty or Miss Justin Bieber. Behind the porter party. I'm going to do what I have to do, and I'm assuming people did. And they did. And they did. That's a given.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Well, have you never stepped on festival grounds before? Okay. Would you rather camp in extreme heat or freezing cold nights? I'm not camping. Yeah, sorry. I can't answer that because extreme heat. I'm a different person. So I guess it's freezing cold.
Starting point is 00:36:36 That's just crazy though. Freezing cold nights. I'll snuggle. Yeah. Yeah. But the heat is... No, I just won't be there. I actually can't think about what I would be like.
Starting point is 00:36:47 It's not going to be... It's not going to be fun. So, freezing cold for me. Yay! Okay. Would you rather have perfect sound but terrible visuals or insane visuals but bad audio? What?
Starting point is 00:36:58 Like a good view, but it sounds bad? I wonder. Perfect sound but terrible. I wonder if it's that. Or if, like, they mean, like, something with the... Like, maybe something with the sound is wrong. Yeah, the sound is like... That's a hard one.
Starting point is 00:37:13 I'd rather have sound. Like, you know what I mean? Like, you know what I mean? Like, I need to hear. Yeah. And, like, I wanted to be crisp and clear and perfect. But I think if it was Justin Bieber and I was front row. Oh, you wouldn't want terrible.
Starting point is 00:37:26 You would want... I don't know if you're that close. You can hear them. Would you rather get separated from your group at night or be stuck with them all day when you need alone time um be stuck with them all day me yeah i i mean i'm very i feel like i'm very voiceous about like if that's a word i don't know i just made that up like i need a second like i need a breather but like being stuck at night is like actually scary one because it's no service there but also it's hell trying to get out like so many cars dirt roads there's not a lot of lighting it's
Starting point is 00:37:58 just so yeah i would be terrified getting lost at night and it happens so often it's like It has not happened to me yet, but I'm like, no. No, yeah, absolutely. Be stuck with them all day. Okay, let's do two more. Okay, would you rather be the planner of the group or just go with the flow? Go with the flow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:19 I'm like it's very hard to be the planner, especially if it's like a large group. It's like rallying all those people and people having, you know, their own thoughts and opinions. Yeah, no. Just let me cruise through today. Okay. I like this one. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed? I'm like, it's hard because I'm like, I'm an overdressor.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Like, I love looking my best. But, you know, like on a festival day, it's like sometimes you just want to be in like a white tank and some jorts and call it a day. But it said for every set. Ah, I guess underdress. I think so too. Yeah, I think just more chill vibes for sure. Because you would enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:38:58 You'd be comfortable. Correct. Getting a good picture sometimes isn't worth it if you're going to be there all. same that's how I feel and I've learned my lesson after this weekend I'm like Kylie Jenner was there in her jeans and her white tank literally and that's what matters she probably had the best time of her life because she felt good okay last one um would you rather sit in traffic for six hours leaving or arriving arriving really because you're excited leaving you want to get that's fair but then I'm like if I'm not driving I'm just comfortable
Starting point is 00:39:31 like on the passenger side you know what I mean What if you're driving? What if you have to be awake at the wheel? I'm like, totally fair. I'm like, I don't know. That's a hard one. Arriving is insane, though. I still stand by leaving because I'm like, you're probably like in park.
Starting point is 00:39:51 You know what I mean? Stans still traffic, you know? True. But like six hours awake at the wheel, not ideal. No, no, no. Not after with how hungover I would be. Beyond, beyond that. Okay, well, you know what?
Starting point is 00:40:03 Until next year for festival season. Until next, maybe I'll be there. This one is closed. We're closing. Sure, you did it. I listened. You held it down for the gossip for everyone. I don't know.
