Starting point is 00:02:41 Welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour's Golden Hour. Thank you all for joining us. We're so excited to be back. How are you doing, Susan? We especially love doing this one because it was all about this week's episode. Oh my goodness. we start, Kathy? You know what? Where do you want to start? I don't know. I don't know. Where do you want to start? Wait, roasting now? Like, that's new. I can imagine the women thinking,
Starting point is 00:03:11 wait, we have to say terrible things about him. We're trying to win him. Well, first of all, let me just say, again, as a woman of a certain age, what an opportunity to roast the hell out of him. Oh, no, it's just joking. Just a joke. I mean, to throw it all at him. So I thought that was Jared. Jared Freeman show up. Oh, my God. Can I just say, Jared, if you're listening. You know what? I may be a woman of a certain age, but I could take care of you. I think he is hysterical. He is hysterical. I agree. I agree. Okay. So I loved, but we got to start at the beginning, before the roast, Terry, going after Nicole, I want to know, I know we talked about this last week, but I still, and I like Nicole, but I have an issue as a mom and a woman of a certain age,
Starting point is 00:04:09 sort of just macing on this guy in the pool, and Terry goes after, I fought in a respectful way. Well, yes, Terry let her know that they, that's something they wouldn't do, and they didn't really approved of it. And Nicole's like, hey, it is what it is. I know, but don't you, again, with the 20-somethings, the 30-somethings, I don't know, Susan, I feel like as Golden's, we're supposed to be a step above that. I just keep coming back to that. And I don't like seeing catty behavior. I just don't. I don't. I don't like it. But how about what Cheryl said? He was a little cheesy and square, and he reminded her of a New York-style beats.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Oh, well, I see that was like, yeah, I mean, okay, but cute line. But I'm, Robin. Wait, you're going, you're in the roast. I'm talking about the beginning before the roast even begins. Cindy is sitting there crying, I don't know where this is going, but it looks to me like Cindy is going to be a major player in this, in this show. I mean, they just, she's, she's narrating. She's, you know, she's, she's tearing.
Starting point is 00:05:21 up. Yeah, um, smitten kitten. And, you know, when, when she said, I'm not okay with Mel trying to explore with other women. Yes. And then she said, and this is what I want to get to before we get to the roast, she's been cheated on. And I thought to myself, are we different at our age, Susan, that to be cheated on when you've got a family with children, I mean, Listen, my kids, I'm guessing, you know, were cheated on when they were dating. I don't know. I didn't ask them. But I just feel like when you have a family and children and that has.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Remember Leslie? Leslie had the same cry that everybody left her. But don't you think it's like a, to me? It's sad is what it is. It's sad. But Cindy's sharing it about men cheating on her in the past and she's not okay watching Mel be with other women. women that tells me Cindy's in it for real her heart is getting involved i think she really believes
Starting point is 00:06:25 that there's a connection yeah but i just i don't know i maybe i'm just maybe the problem for me is i'm not in it like when we're on our show i'm watching it as a mom as somebody who was on the golden bachelor as somebody who has children and i'm thinking how hard that must really be to talk about being cheated on when you have a family, when you've had so many years with a spouse. I don't know. That just really struck me. And then the other thing. It was hard to hear. It was. Your heart goes out to her. What about Amy? And I'm the only one that cooks and clean. Kathy, do you remember being in that house? What is the first thing I said to you? What the hell? You girls don't clean up. Everybody pick up after themselves. The dishes were piled up. I'm like, who is
Starting point is 00:07:17 charge over here. Yeah, I mean, I get it. You know, Susan is the cleaner of the sedger hair. But wait, before, again, I want to get to the roast. But the other thing when Debbie said at the very beginning, it, Debbie, for anyone who doesn't remember, Debbie is 65 and she's never been married. She always put her career first. And, but she said she's ready now. And she said, you know it doesn't matter how old you are you are worthy and she was saying it's a glimpse of how life could be on her on her one-on-one date with him and I know I'm jumping ahead but you are you're way ahead of me back it's the themes though it is the theme of feeling worthy at any age and that it's never too late and and and I quote later on I'll quote what he said which was our message
Starting point is 00:08:12 coming off the show exactly yeah yeah it's all the same and i know and this show is about finding love well i agree some people might be there for the wrong reason yeah that's very true but let's go back just uh okay can we get back though can we come back to debby because i thought oh we're definitely all right all right let's go back to the roast hysterical robins put their foot in the mouth in the shoes and says he's like a slippery sloth I mean I don't know if I could have come up with something that quick I mean
Starting point is 00:08:48 they were I don't know if they had help write in this stuff because you know I'm pretty quick-witted and I was like oh my God that's genius Kathy who was it was it Carol that didn't have her glasses she goes I can't write I can't write I don't have my glasses
Starting point is 00:09:01 and can I say to you I felt for that because how many times I'm the girl you can see me right now with glasses on I have to wear glasses to read to write I have to. And I just thought when I was watching that, I'm thinking, yep, there's age for you right there. Can you imagine a 20-year-old running around to any of my glasses? That was a golden moment for sure. And that really was me. Monica B. I just loved it. You know, don't go, don't go. He's an antique classic car. Doesn't go over 60. I mean, come on. These are great. But I, just as a thematic comment, I love the fact that it gave these women a way to rip him a new one, whether they wanted to or not, humorously or not, because I honestly think most of them had accepted his apology,
Starting point is 00:09:56 but it was humor, it was funny. He took it well. I thought he took it well. And he isn't, to me, Mr. Personality, okay? I need to see Mel, get me some more energy, baby. I mean, you're doing everything right. You're saying the right things, blah, blah. blah, blah. Show me something. He's just kind of there and going. I don't see a ton of emotion or
Starting point is 00:10:20 excitement for that matter. He seems, you know, he keeps making, I agree with you, Susan. He keeps making comments about, you know, these women, what they're doing. I'm like, Mel, what are you doing? Like, he seems a little stiff. I want to know what he's feeling. I feel like Gary on our season was really good at that. He was very good sharing his emotions. Well, we know that. But let's go back to a minute for Mel. You know, he's not you know, he's a sports
Starting point is 00:10:49 attorney and a football, a football player now a sports attorney. So, you know, you would think as a people person he might be able to loosen up, but I keep thinking, you know, he's like a deer in the headlights with 23 women. I wonder, is he really uptight? Like, does he, is it because it's
Starting point is 00:11:05 stage fright? You know you're being filmed and and he redeemed himself and apologized profusely when this all started. Is it part of that that he feels? I don't know. I don't know, but Mel, get loose. Okay, I've been saving this, Susan, since last week. I've been saving this for you.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Bachelor Nation, I've been saving this. All right. When they showed Mel's package at the very beginning and he's with his boys in the kitchen, did you notice? I thought, Mel and Susan never happening. It has nothing to do with her age. Did you notice there were a sink full of dirty dishes? Go back and watch.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I thought. I'll be so upset. Yeah. I was like, well, that's it. You know, he may not want women. Susan's out. Susan's out. Mel, she'd have your ass in a sling.
Starting point is 00:11:54 You'd be doing dishes for the next month. Hey, I've been teaching my man who's been here for three weeks. Don't leave that in the sink. But the humility in knowing that life is his classroom that we should, never graduate for is what is going to keep you growing. And that's all that matters. World Mental Health Day is around the corner. And on my podcast, Just Heal with Dr. Jay, I dive into what it really means to care for your mind, body, and spirit. From breaking generational patterns to building emotional capacity. Healing is a journey and wholeness is the destination.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I'm going to walk away feeling very healed and feeling like, yes, I'm going to continue my healing journey and I'm going to get some keys from you. Listen to Jess Hilbert, Dr. Jay, from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, guys, it's Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero, and this is more better. We are jumping right in and ready to hear from you. Your thoughts, your questions, your feelings about socks with sandals. And we're ready to share some possibly questionable advice and hot takes. God, that sucks so hard, though. I'm so sorry. Can you out petty them?
Starting point is 00:13:14 Can you match their pettiness for funsies? Yeah. We had so much fun last season, laughing, crying, talking to some new and old friends. Remember when we were in that scene where you guys were just supposed to hug and I was standing? Oh, yeah. And I was like, can I also hug them? I'm like, this has no one. And this time around, we are...
Starting point is 00:13:38 Say it, Melissa. Should I? Say it. Getting a little more better. Oh, finally. It's all the dressing room talk we loved in season one. All the things. Because aren't we all trying to get a little more better?
Starting point is 00:13:51 Listen to more better on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you want to hear the secrets of serial killers, psychopaths, pedophiles, robbers? They are sitting there waiting for the vulnerable thing. They're waiting for the unprotected. I'm Dr. Leslie, forensic psychologist. I advocate for safety and awareness of predators while wearing pink. When you were described to me as a forensic psychologist, I was like snooze. We ended up talking for hours, and I was like, this girl is my best friend.
Starting point is 00:14:20 This is a podcast where I cut through the noise with sarcasm, satire, and hard truths. I'm not going to fake it and force it for me. But would you force an orgasm? Because that's like a different layer. The car accident you didn't want to see, but couldn't turn away from. In this episode, I discuss personal safety and self-defense, tools, instincts, and strategies to protect yourself and your loved ones in everyday life and high-risk situations. Listen to Intentionally Disturbing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:14:56 The Internet is something we make, not just something that happens to us. I'm Bridget Todd, host of the Tech and Culture Podcast, Their Honor Goes on the Internet. There are no growth on the internet is not just about tech. It's about culture and policy and art and expression and how we as humans exist and fit with one another. In our new season, I'm talking to people like Emile Dash, an OG entrepreneur and writer who refuses to be cynical about the internet. I love tech.
Starting point is 00:15:19 You know, I've been a nerd my whole life, but it does have to be for something. Like, it's not just for its own sake. It's a fascinating exploration about the power of the internet for both good and bad. They use WhatsApp to get the price of rice at the market that is often 12 hours away, they're not going to be like, we don't like the terms of service, therefore we're not trading rice this season.
Starting point is 00:15:39 It's an inspiring story that focuses on people as the core building blocks of the internet. Platforms exist because of the regular people on them, and I think that's a real important story to keep repeating. I created there are no girls on the internet because the future belongs to all of us.
Starting point is 00:15:53 New episodes every Tuesday and Friday. Listen to there are no girls on the internet on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. In early 1988, federal agents raced to track down the gang they suspect of importing millions of dollars worth of heroin into New York from Asia. We had 30 agents ready to go with shotguns and rifles and you name it. But what they find is not what they expected. Basically, your stay-at-home moms were picking up these large amounts of heroin.
Starting point is 00:16:25 They go, is this your daughter? I said yes. They go, oh, you may not see her for like 25 years. Caught between a federal investigation and the violent gang who recruited them, the women must decide who they're willing to protect and who they dare to betray. Once I saw the gun, I tried to take his hand and I saw the flash of light. Listen to the Chinatown Stang on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere you get your podcasts. You mentioned Carol. I don't know. I'm all about themes.
Starting point is 00:17:06 You know, someone's just going to have to get me off this ledge here. But I'm watching this show with a very different attitude. I'm watching it as really, what are we saying about Golden's? You know, what is Bachelor Nation seen? How are we different from the young ones? So when Carol ever said to him, you know, she said, he wants to date 40 to 60 year olds and she said
Starting point is 00:17:38 that's the first thing we've had in common meaning she wants to date for and I thought if that is an ageism right there like yeah you Carol because do we hear women saying yeah I'm 60 and I want to date a guy 40 to say we never hear it so I was like I it was funny but as a woman I loved hearing that like women can date younger men also yes but also when they were chatting i think she kind of ran out of things to say like she said she was handsome and and then about the first kiss she felt like a teenager and this one's for all you shy
Starting point is 00:18:14 girls we had that one-on-one conversation yeah and it's like go for it if you really this situation is so different than everyday normal life meeting somebody am i right kathy it is got 10 other girls gone after the same man. So you need to put out there what you want. So can we jump ahead to the pajama party? I still want to come back to Debbie in that one-on-one date. No, let's do Debbie. Debbie gets so emotional.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Oh, my God. Oh, okay. So, but did you not think that to me, Debbie was like the hopeful romantic of cooking with him a glimpse of how life could be. A Miss one star chef, I would have been in my glory, but he was very attentive. He was very affectionate. Right. I like that. I like that. I didn't think he was overly affectionate, but okay. And he said Debbie is his type. Yes, he did say that. I'm not sure what his type is yet. But again, Debbie's saying how great it felt to be chosen and that she's earnest about love. And she said, this could be maybe her.
Starting point is 00:19:28 moment. I just, I want people to see that you don't have to be 20, you don't have to be 30, that we can have our moment at any age. And I love that Debbie came out and said, this could be my moment. I believe in love. This could be a glimpse of my life. And I just, I thought that was such a great capsule of what we as Goldens are looking for. I loved it. I love you, Debbie. And the best line never when Debbie said, it doesn't matter how old you are. Exactly what you're saying. It doesn't matter how old you are. And I love. It's still a feeling. It's a feeling. But you can have that feeling at any age. And those are the messages that I am loving on this show, that it's just underscoring the fact that age is just a number. The butterflies, you can have them,
Starting point is 00:20:25 the love. I don't know. I love that. I thought it was. such a sweet moment. And, of course, Susan, you know how much I love to cook. So I was sitting there thinking, oh, dear God, if that had been me with Mel and they gave me a knife. She took over and she said, get that whisk move and use that wrist. Could you see me? I would have cut my fingers off in the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:20:42 You would have said, here, I'll stand here and get me the wine. I would have said, darling, darling, I'll make the reservations. You can sit there and slice and dice all night. And during this whole time, Cindy is constantly thinking about he's on a date with another woman. She shared how she felt like a smitten kitten and how she loves how he said that they have a connection. So he's on a date with Debbie. Cindy's at the house thinking he said we have a connection. That's kind of hard.
Starting point is 00:21:13 I mean, again, I hate sound like a broken record. You and I did not have a connection with Gary. But I can imagine if I had a connection with a man and I'm watching him, you know, make out. I mean, Cindy, for God's sakes, in that, in that, in that preview for next week, she is on the beach in the water. It looks like something out of a Sports Illustrated bathing suit issue. I'm like, I mean, seriously. So I get it. They clearly have a connection.
Starting point is 00:21:45 So I get it for her. And I think it's really hard. The other thing that I love that they showed was women our age, you know what, we care about how we look. the whole thing with the puffy eyes and rolling stuff. I was like, yes. I love the mask. I have one. I know.
Starting point is 00:22:02 But don't you love that we're not trying to pretend. We want to look our best. I don't know. We both said and greed. The major difference when I look at this show compared to every single one of them have long, beautiful hair. Every single one. I swear to God, Susan, I'm going to call them all when this show's over.
Starting point is 00:22:18 All right. Do you have extensions? Do you have extensions? I don't think if any, there's many. Oh, no, many of them. I ask them. But now I'm going to take roll call. I'm going to find out.
Starting point is 00:22:27 I want to see who. Because Peg, I could definitely tell you no way. Terry, no way. I look at their hair. I'm a hairdresser. Yeah. Well, all right. I'm going to find out.
Starting point is 00:22:37 The one-on-one date, of course, Debbie got the rose. So she's feeling good. Then the rose ceremony begins. Oh, boy. And the first choice was. Hold on. You just skipped over the pajama party. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:22:51 I have that at the bottom. We'll talk that. No, no, no. We're start. Let's go with the pajama party. Now, I've got. I've got to say, we know that there's only so much time to air conversations and air. We all know watching this show a lot more goes on that we actually see on TV.
Starting point is 00:23:08 And you and I were lucky enough or stupid enough to show up in shorty pajamas to chat with these women. Hey, Kathy, I thought we looked pretty good, especially when did you see us when you plopped on one couch, I plopped on the other waiting for them to get changed in their pajamas. I know, but let me say. were you not sorry that they didn't show the pillow fight at the end? I know. They showed that in the attraction now. I know in the preview.
Starting point is 00:23:34 It was a blast, you guys. There was feathers everywhere. So I felt like when we were there, first of all, I loved that you and I got to get to know them a little bit. But again, did it not feel a little strange? Being in the house? Well, being in the house with these women who were in our situation, just, you know. But it was so different for me. Tell me.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Seeing them and compared to us was like night and day. And some of the conversations that we had, I was a little taken back. They were so excited to meet us and asking us different questions. And I was like, whoa, whoa, wait a minute, wait a minute. I think when we were there, that was right after if my memory serves me because they talked to me about it
Starting point is 00:24:31 and I know they mentioned it to you the kiss Nicole making out with him in the pool that was sort of the discussion of the evening so I have a question I mean not a question a comment you talked to Pegg I thought you gave great advice to the women by the way
Starting point is 00:24:47 thank you Kathy you're welcome but I had also talked to Peg and it was I didn't know that you had because I thought they sort of split the women in half. Yeah, I was thinking that. But maybe, maybe I'm imagining it. I get Peg and I like her.
Starting point is 00:25:03 She had gorgeous hair. I kind of wanted her head of hair. Oh, it's too thick. Oh, please. Are you serious? I take medication for hair growth. That's blasphemy to say it's too thick. I don't want to hear that.
Starting point is 00:25:14 But we did have a ball with these women. And oh my God, wait, how about them not? And speaking of Peg, is it really a vibe? Okay. Let's talk about that. First of all, Bachelor Nation, when they said we're going to have a little present for you to get the girls, and they said a bat's a vibrator, Susan's eyes lit up and I went, oh, God, please, can I just take an early exit? When I said, you could use it here for sore muscles here, here, and I said, even below the waist, I said he is 60 after all. He's over 60, so you may need this at times. There's nothing wrong with adding a little fun to the bedroom. Okay. Seriously, truth. You know, never have I ever. By the way, we could talk about that game, too. I was like, oh, my God, here we go. Throwing down the ice cream. But seriously, do you really think for one minute? Now, I know, Susan, you say I'm like a prude, which I'm not, but we're not going to get into that today. I wouldn't say a prude, but there's other describing words, you know. Trust me. I'm good. But here's the question I have for you. Do you really think those women didn't know what it was? I was like, come on, ladies. these, just be real. I mean, no.
Starting point is 00:26:26 I mean, it wasn't shaped like a penis or anything. It was a wand. Well, the wands are the popular things these days if anybody's keeping up on it. Whatever. I was just sitting there. Ladies, if you don't know what this is, you're probably not ready. A lot of them did because they were like, oh, my God, I love this. Did you mean, I said something like, what did you think this was?
Starting point is 00:26:49 Crayons? I know, right. What do you think we're going to do here? We're real. I don't know. I thought it was great getting... It was a great party. But the conversations were different than the ones we had.
Starting point is 00:27:02 I will say they were. And I cannot believe that you and I had on silk, shorty pajamas. And I can't believe we look good. We look good. I felt so much better after seeing this. I don't know. Yeah, like, yeah. And we know the best part of all, Kathy, we were comfortable, right?
Starting point is 00:27:21 we had slippers no high heels like it was chill okay I have somebody was on our same level you know and it was just fun can I admit something after we had the pillow fight that they only showed the promos my slippers came off and I love the slippers because they were so comfortable and I got back to the hotel I had two different slippers two different sizes oh my God like well so much for those
Starting point is 00:27:48 I was joking on the feathers they were getting in my mouth because I kept laughing so much. Okay. But the girls really were excited to see us, and that was such a nice, warm welcome. They were screaming, you know. Yeah, it was.
Starting point is 00:28:00 And then giving them the pajamas with Mel's face on it. I know, but don't you? I feel like they're all part of our Bachelor family now. I can't wait to see them again. I really can't. I hope I get to. We will. We will.
Starting point is 00:28:13 So now we have the Rose ceremony. I was so blessed and happy for Cindy that she was the first one. I know. And in the same breath, Kathy, if I may, if she's not the one, like, I feel like, whoa, you're leading her on to believe. Like, I don't know where he's at. My money's on Cindy. My money's on, I mean, she's from Austin, but I just think they definitely have a very strong connection. But wait, can I, I have to say something, wine in hand here. I'm toasting right here. Get this. You ready? if Mel says one more time when he lifts his champagne glass I want a toast to love
Starting point is 00:28:54 happiness and fun I'm like really you said that last time can you be more creative Mel I mean there's so much more that he could say and I think as a woman it's like how about to finding love
Starting point is 00:29:12 how about he does say my future wife could be in this room Yeah, well, you know what? Can I just say? It's not coming through. My future husband could be in this world. Big deal. But the humility in knowing that life is this classroom that we should never graduate for is what is going to keep you growing. And that's all that matters. World Mental Health Day is around the corner.
Starting point is 00:29:39 And on my podcast, Just Heal with Dr. Jay, I dive into what it really means to care for your mind. body, and spirit, from breaking generational patterns to building emotional capacity. Healing is a journey and wholeness is the destination. I'm going to walk away feeling very healed and feeling like, yes, I'm going to continue my healing journey and I'm going to get some keys from you.
Starting point is 00:30:22 We are jumping right in and ready to hear from you. Your thoughts, your questions, your feelings about socks with sandals. And we're ready to share some possibly questionable advice and hot takes. God, that sucks so hard, though. I'm so sorry. Can you out petty them? Can you match their pettiness for funsies? Yeah. We had so much fun last season, laughing, crying.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Talking to some new and old friends. Remember when we were in that scene where you guys were just supposed to hug and I was standing. Oh, yeah. And I was like, can I also hug them? I'm like, this f*** has no friends. This time around, we are, say it, Melissa.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Should I? Saying it. Getting a little more better. Oh, finally. It's all the dressing room talks we've loved in season one. All the things. Because aren't we all trying to get a little
Starting point is 00:31:12 more better? Listen to more better on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We ended up talking for hours and I was like, this girl is my best. This is a podcast where I cut through the noise with sarcasm, satire, and hard truths. I'm not going to fake it and force it for me. But would you force an orgasm?
Starting point is 00:31:52 Because that's like a different layer. The car accident you didn't want to see but couldn't turn away from. In this episode, I discussed personal safety and self-defense tools, instincts, and strategies to protect yourself and your loved ones in everyday life and high-risk situations. Listen to Intentionally Disturbing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Internet is something we make, not just something that happens to us. I'm Bridget Todd, host of the Tech and Culture Podcast, There Are No Girls on the Internet. There Are No Gros on the Internet is not just about tech.
Starting point is 00:32:28 It's about culture and policy and art and expression, and how we as humans exist and fit with one another. In our new season, I'm talking to people like Emile Dash, an OG entrepreneur and writer who refuses to be cynical. about the internet. I love tech. You know, I've been a nerd my whole life, but it does have to be for something. Like, it's not just for its own sake. It's a fascinating exploration about the power of the internet for both good and bad. They use WhatsApp to get the price of rice at the market that is often 12 hours away. They're not going to be like, we don't like the terms of service, therefore we're not trading rice this season. It's an inspiring story that focuses on people as the core building blocks of the internet. Platforms exist because of the regular people on them, and I think that's a real
Starting point is 00:33:10 important story to keep repeating. I created there are no girls on the internet because the future belongs to all of us. New episodes every Tuesday and Friday. Listen to there are no girls on the internet on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:33:47 They go, is this your daughter? I said yes. They go, oh, you may not see her for like 25 years. Caught between a federal investigation and the violent gang who recruited them, the women must decide who they're willing to protect and who they dare to betray. Once I slowly got, I try to take it. his hand and I saw the flash of light. Listen to the Chinatown Sting on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere you get your podcasts. Were you surprised that he let, Terry from Houston?
Starting point is 00:34:30 I was surprised. I mean, I like Terry. She's my kind of girl, just personality-wise. you know I don't we don't know again again time is short we don't know what conversations were had or not had
Starting point is 00:34:47 with these women with Mel but when Carol said she was so nervous and she needed to make herself more vulnerable I felt like it hit home to me because even though I'm outgoing
Starting point is 00:35:04 and gregarious you know it's hard to be vulnerable it's hard to say I care I are you interested because I am that's hard and I'm that for me is the biggest difference and I know it sounds crazy but watching this show I'm having more emotional connections with this whole thing than I did being a participant and I I thought last week it was just sort of oh yeah it's just the first episode but no I'm really, I'm feeling it when, when Carol says it. I'm feeling it when Debbie says these things. They were opening up and being vulnerable by saying those things too. Yeah. And so I've got a problem. And I like Mel. Again, I have to repeat, I've not met him yet. I think he's a good looking man.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I mean, jumping in the pool with sneakers on, not sure I would have done it, but you know, whatever. I definitely would have. I love that poor. Oh, I mean, whatever. But we just know, this show is about finding love, not just having fun. Right. And so, I mean, it's always fun to go on a group thing and do crazy things. That's what's bothering you about is toast. It's to love, not finding love.
Starting point is 00:36:21 He just, he said it twice now. Love, happiness, and fun. And, you know, that's, the other thing that he keeps saying is in different, you know, iterations, he says all of this all of the women they all have a fit for me in other words what i took it to mean is there's bits and pieces of each woman that he could fit in with yeah and i'm like so you know kathy analytical kathy starts thinking i if i were one of them i don't want to be the one left behind do you know what you want mel you're 66 years old do you know what you want because you know if i if i go out on a date with six guys i you know in six different dates i might
Starting point is 00:37:09 say to you susan i went on six dates and but i'm going to say also say to you i can only see dating this guy or maybe two guys not all of these women so it's about feeling a connection right i know but don't is that a concern to you at all that that i think every single person as a lead has to go through that. Every one I've ever seen is the same. They don't know yet. Okay, but we're on, we're on episode three. We're like a third of the way through. And either, again, just getting. Oh, yeah, I don't know. So some of the notes that I wrote, again, I really like Mel, however, he's not giving me enough. I don't know if it's not enough energy, but there's something missing here.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. back up repeat what you just said for me i really like mel however he is not giving me enough i don't know if it's not enough energy but there's something missing i can't quite put my finger on it and that's saying if it were me dating him just think something's not a hundred percent there maybe he's a quiet guy. I mean, I give anybody and everybody the benefit of the doubt. However, show me something else. Show me some energy, baby. Show me where your heart's going. He's not given that. And maybe not yet, because it is week three. So I'm just going to say what you just said, if you say it's only week three. So maybe that's part of it. But I feel like, like I said, I want to like him. I want to
Starting point is 00:38:51 meet him. I feel like he's stiff. That's the word that keeps coming to me. However, I'm guessing, but that smile is real, right? He does smile with them and feel something. I think he has a calm demeanor. I think as a football player, I'm just being honest, I don't know, but I'm guessing, you know, his back hurts, his neck hurts, his legs hurt, his knees hurt. I know his feet hurt. God knows his feet hurt because leather shoes are not in his vocabulary. But that's, so I am struggling here with You just hit the nail in the head. Yeah. Something's missing.
Starting point is 00:39:25 Who are you, Mel? What is it? Who are you? Tell us. Yeah. And I, even though he may not know which woman he wants, again, I would love to hear what he's looking for. And I'm not getting that yet. He hasn't shared it, though, got he hasn't. So that's why, let me, let me rewind.
Starting point is 00:39:45 That's what's missing. That's why I said to you, does he know what he wants? or is you know he wants bits and pieces of whatever we're down to 11 women I I was not surprised I like Amy I mean come on that girl's northeastern girl she's got a lot energy oh my gosh she's a trip she's a trip Monica Terry and and Monica P so the two monicas Terry and Amy I we don't know again we're not privy to all the conversations, so we don't really know why, but the ones that he kept, he said there's pieces of each one. So I'm, and let me just say, something about each one of them that he is attracted
Starting point is 00:40:34 to. Something's there. And that's how this game works. Right. Can I just tell you, the piece that's working with Cindy is that girl rocks a bikini and looks great with the ocean washing over while they're making out. I'm telling you, it was like a B movie. It was like a B movie. movie right there. And, you know, she gets like real sappy and cryy because she's really into it. And then she's so fun and sure of herself when she's having a conversation. I really like her. Wait, can I just say, I'm going to take lessons from that. Again, you know, I need help dating to Ollie out there. I need help. So, you know, did you see, I'm watching, I don't know why, Susan. I keep telling you, I'm watching this series, this show so carefully. I'm watching Cindy. I think
Starting point is 00:41:18 they have a connection. I'm watching I'm watching her put her hand on his arm and her hand on his shoulder and when she kisses him she sort of gently puts her hands. I'm taking lesson, Cindy. She's feeling. It's a feeling. But do you see it with him?
Starting point is 00:41:35 Do you think? Like when Nicole kisses him, I feel like Nicole just getting his attention, show him how good she could be at this. I don't know if her heart's in it. She just wants attention. I'm not sure about Nicole's long-term feeling about him.
Starting point is 00:41:52 I know she likes to be front and center. She likes attention, and she likes to kiss him. Oh, wait a minute. Are we talking about Susan or Nicole? Ha, ha, ha. I always front and center, but if I don't want to kiss you, I'm not kissing. You know what? If I ever get to see Mel, I'm going to say, could I be number 24?
Starting point is 00:42:11 Oh my gosh. Could you believe on the show, by the way? I mean, this is what happens to me. I say these things because it's just what comes out of my mouth. I'm sure I'm going to take flack from that. I know every secret door in this house. And Mel, I'm coming for you. I'm like, you know, so when I see them, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:29 I may have to give them just a little peck if I get to meet them. I was impressed the way the house looked and our candy jars. I know. That feeling that I had walking in there was like, oh, my God, the bathroom without the mirror on the first floor. All I can say is, after watching episode, episode three, I feel like something's building and then it ebbs and flows. And I want to see more of the flow.
Starting point is 00:42:58 I want to see Mel committing to something and someone a little bit more than he is. I can't wait for next week. Yes. And did you happen to hear the, remember last week, the coming attractions, which I can't believe, as you said, they didn't show you starting the Philip Pillow fight, the I remember catching that this week I caught something that was like oh one of the young ladies saying that they were having a conversation between them about the reasons they're there yes and somebody said that somebody was there to be whatever an influencer and
Starting point is 00:43:38 and then they said yeah and then one of them said here we go I thought oh here we go someone said I don't remember which one. She's here for the wrong reasons. And Cindy pipes right up and says, you tell him. And I thought, yeah, Cindy, spread the dirty workout. Let somebody else do it. She makes Robin tell him. Robin's the one that they're there.
Starting point is 00:44:01 And that reminded me of stuff with us. Like who's going to be the bad guy and go tell him what's going on. Yeah. Uh-huh. Hello. I know. I know. But I can't wait.
Starting point is 00:44:12 For us, I mean, these women watched us and then watch us now. we knew nothing about social media influencers whatever happened happened for us and I feel blessed I mean we have a podcast we get to talk about the show what are you talking about you got a guy listen you can talk about finally yes but it wasn't on the damn show it was two years later yeah well I'm waiting for the guy and it is two years later so I don't coming this year this coming this year okay 2025 or 2026 but but but As Frederick would say, but these women, did they all go for love, Kathy? You know what?
Starting point is 00:44:57 Because they have a different agenda, maybe. I think as we keep going through the season, everyone's motives are going to become more clear. I think it's always, Mel, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, or in this case, his sneakers, for anything, because he is the guy that has. has to judge these women and make choices. And you know what? I keep saying to you, I'm a woman who supports women. I want them all to find love. I want them all to find happiness.
Starting point is 00:45:28 And next week, you know, there's going to be more women going home. But hopefully, Mel is feeling more comfortable, literally, in his sneakers. And let loose a little bit of that. And is letting loose and is going to start opening up and let himself feel vulnerable. The loosest I've seen is in that kitchen with the chef. there like he was whipping they would look like they were having fun they really did that was the best part we'll see until next week everybody enjoyed our comments and thoughts on this week's episode let us know what you think right we're saying the same thing we want to know what you think if
Starting point is 00:46:05 you're enjoying this season um we're we're with you guys we want mel to find love we want everyone out there to find love. So let us know what you're thinking.
