Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the Psychology Podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about how to be a better you. When you think about emotion regulation, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome. Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denials is easier.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Complex problem solving. Takes effort. Listen to the psychology podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's important that we just reassure people that they're not alone and there is help out there. The Good Stuff podcast, Season 2, takes a deep look into One Tribe Foundation, a non-profit fighting suicide in the veteran community. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, so join host Jacob and Ashley Schick as they bring you to the front lines of One Tribe's mission. One Tribe saved my life twice. Welcome to Season 2.
Starting point is 00:01:30 of The Good Stuff. Listen to the Good Stuff podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back, everybody, to another episode of Faster Happy Hour. We have a really fun episode for you guys today, and we're going to shake things up a bit. And I feel like we've been saying that over the last couple of weeks. And I think you guys have enjoyed it because ever since the greatest seasons ever started airing, we've been noticing that we have some true Diehard fans that have really come to light.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Like we know there's this Bachelor nation. But you guys are, I don't know, just like coming out of the woodwork, sharing all the knowledge that you have and kind of congregating together, reminiscing over past seasons. And it's really been kind of fun to watch. So you guys amaze us with your bachelor knowledge. You honestly teach us a few things because I don't know if we're as in depth with Bachelor Nation knowledge as some of the diehard fans are. But that's okay. We love to learn. We love to learn.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And you guys are our listeners. And we love that you're so into it. and we appreciate it, love to see it. This franchise has been around for such a long time, and it's really created an army of viewers. That's why they call you a nation. And today, we wanted to honor you guys just a little bit. And what I love so much about this franchise
Starting point is 00:02:44 is not only that it's entertaining, but in a lot of cases, it brings people together and across so many generations. You know, you hear these stories of mothers and daughters that watch together, are best friends from across the country that went to college together, they watch it or just a normal watch party where you just want to get faded, laugh at us on your
Starting point is 00:03:03 television screens and have a good time. But honestly, The Bachelor is one of the most fun shows to watch with other people. And I've even been to watch parties. I don't know if I told you this, Becca, I've been to watch parties before. I was on the show. Never watched it. I just came for a good time. I couldn't tell you whose season was on the screen. I was just there for the good company. So the bachelor has such a unique ability to bring people together, even the former anti-batchar people like me. And we actually get so many sweet messages from you guys about how much the show means to you and the people that you share this show with.
Starting point is 00:03:40 So a couple of weeks ago, we received one message from a fan that both Becca and I thought was absolutely adorable, and we decided we wanted to share the story with you guys. I'm outraged. It really does bring people together. And what I love about doing this podcast with you is, yes, we can watch old seasons and reminisce with the greatest seasons of all time that is going on now. But what I also love is that we do have the ability to shake things up and bring in new people that have watched the show far longer than either of us have.
Starting point is 00:04:13 So we did get this really sweet message. So our fan name, her name is Emily Kelman. She's 24 years old. And she actually wrote to us just this amazing. message through DMs. That's kind of how we got connected and mentioned that during this pandemic and for the past several years, the Bachelor, not only The Bachelor show, but the spin-offs in our podcast have really brought her and her family, especially the women in her family, connected and entertained. So in this message, she goes on to explain that it is in fact
Starting point is 00:04:42 her grandma, honey, who is, get this, 90 years old. Yes, I said 90, who actually brought all of the women and her family together. They would watch it every Mondays. Like I said, they would watch listen to your heart, all the spin-off shows. They've watched Paradise and now listen to our podcast. But Grandma Honey has been a fan since season one. So for the past 18 years, she has been keeping up with the show. She's connected three generations of the women in the Kelman family and keeps them communicating no matter what. So unfortunately, because of COVID and the quarantine, they haven't been able to get together physically. But they still connect every Monday night to talk and catch up on all the drama and the recaps that are
Starting point is 00:05:27 happening. So it's really keeping them connected and laughing during this time. And Rachel, I don't know about you, but when I heard about Grandma Honey, I just felt like, A, we needed to bring her on because she, I mean, not only sounds amazing, but she sounds like a hoot too. So I cannot wait to connect with her to get her on here so the world can meet this woman. Yeah, there's was just something that was very sweet about how much this show meant to the Kellerman girls and that they could share it amongst three generations, which is wild to me. So we decided if Grandma Honey could figure out Zoom, then we would invite them to talk about all things Bachelor, and luckily Grandma Honey is very, very savvy. And so later on today on the show, we're going
Starting point is 00:06:12 to have her on, her daughter, Leslie, and her granddaughter, Emily. I can't wait. But before we begin. I want to talk to you first, Rachel, because I know that, you know, you never really watched the show before coming on. I think I was the only person in my family prior to me going on The Bachelor that I'd watched the show. But since then, it felt like it bonded my family in this really weird, unique way. I mean, you know, my family started tuning in and watching, and now a lot of them are just hooked. Like, I think the show just, like, kind of sucks you in. But it really has brought my mom and my sister and I and even my aunts and stuff together in a really new tradition of Monday nights.
Starting point is 00:06:56 So I want to first talk with you and see who are some influential women in your life and traditions because I think, you know, I call this like Monday night tradition, like batch Mondays. But what are some other traditions that you guys have? It's so funny. I hear you talk about like your mom and your sisters and I'm like, my mom and my sister are probably like, not probably they're like who's peter who's hannah like they have no idea they were we watched it for you they were not watching it i didn't do a little i feel like it was traumatizing to my family because they're so private and nothing against the franchise because they adore everything that's come out of it
Starting point is 00:07:33 for me and they adore brian but it's just i think it's just like tough for them to watch yeah knowing that knowing that i was on it but as far as traditions ago I feel like we don't really have a lot of traditions. I think it's just more of we're really close, but we don't have something that we all do that's, oh, that's the Shelton's, which is my mom's side of the family, or that's the Lindsay's on my dad. More so, I think holidays are assigned to certain families. So when I think of certain holidays, I'm like, oh, well, around Thanksgiving, we usually always go to Houston and spend time with my grandmother. And it's a tradition for us, like my grandmother, you know, she's had a lot of health issues over the last couple of years.
Starting point is 00:08:23 And so she always loves to be in her room. So it's a tradition that although she's got her living room, her dining room, we always end up in her room. And we're always in her bed, on her chair, on the floor, just like laughing and talking about whatever it is, just reminiscing about old stuff. So it's, I mean, it's not a tradition. It's just more of like maybe a habit. I guess that's what I would call it. That's so sweet.
Starting point is 00:08:48 I love that. I just, you know, there's something, and it's a little different for me because, you know, my dad passed away when I was 19. So my family has been mainly women. My mom and sister and I are super close. My sister just had her first baby a few months ago. So we brought little Emmy into the world. Emmy is so freaking cute.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I can't stand it. Like I couldn't even pass by your story without commenting. I passed by and I went back and I was like, I just need to tell you how adorable your niece is. She is. And like, I know people are biased with their nieces and nephews, but I, like, I was just with them last weekend. And I told my mom and sister, I'm like, I don't think I can ever have kids because my child is not going to be nearly as cute as Emmy. Like, are people going to love my kid as much? Probably not. Because she just like, for those of you who haven't like seen on Instagram, she, my sister and her husband have like massively curly hair. Like so curly. And Emmy has like this Mohawk. curl going down the front like she just and she just started kissing so like i'll hold her and be like okay kisses and she'll like lean her face in but like her head's too heavy so she'll like fall into you but um yeah so and that's one thing i mean i i like she's my first niece i've never had a niece her nephew before this past year and so the fact that i'm now an aunt and can carry on things that
Starting point is 00:10:14 i've learned and that we've done within my family is something really special and a whole new thing that I'm learning to navigate, it's kind of scary knowing that, like, you know, not me because I'm not raising her, but, like, have the ability to kind of, you know, shape her. It's a lot of pressure. So, yeah, it's fun, though. But I think, thinking about traditions, I mean, kind of like you, holidays, yes. My dad's side of the family actually is, like, we're huge foodies. And so cooking with my aunt and just being in the kitchen during holidays, like, that's something that's really special to me and just sharing recipes. Like, I think it bonds us in a really special way. But my family, we don't really watch a ton of TV, but we love games. Like, that is one tradition
Starting point is 00:10:58 when we're all together. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yes. Yes. Same. Yes. We love games. Like, we, I mean, if we could have tournaments all weekend long, that's what we would do. What's your go-to family game? Oh, man. Well, so growing up when I was younger, because it was easy, was Yotsie. We would, play Yotsie. We would go to a cabin every summer for a week and we would probably play like 500,000 games of Yatsi and we'd always bet. And so I feel like I was, I was really good and I won all the money. But I don't know if you heard of lately. It's not, I shouldn't say newer game, but we've been playing Settlers of Catan. Oh, I've never heard of it. It's like, oh my God, you're going to make so much fun of me. It's like you build these. It's kind of like Game of Thrones meets Oregon Trail.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Uh-huh. Okay. That sounds fun. It's strategic. You're, like, building roads and cities and settlements, like bargaining. Wait, is it like a computer game? No, it's a board game, but it's... Oh, wow. What is it called again? Settlers of Catan.
Starting point is 00:12:03 I'm such a nerd. I think it's like, wow, they really are using their brains there. I'm like, meanwhile, our go-to game is taboo. Oh, yeah. Oh, I love taboo. We love to play taboo. And then all we do is, like, I feel like, make fun of my dad.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Yeah. That's all we do in the middle of the games is make fun of my dad. So, yeah. Games is a thing too. Yeah. And I guess in playing into that, like my great grandma, who, I mean, she passed away when I was six or seven, but I remember visiting her in the nursing home and we would always play Kings in the Corner.
Starting point is 00:12:36 It's just an easy card game. So that's something I think that's bonded us. Yeah. And it wasn't until I went on The Bachelor where my family started watching the show. and then my uncles got into it and they like had to make brackets and all these drinking games for the show. So yeah, that's kind of where we land. Do you guys have any, I guess do you guys? I know that you love the Real Housewives, but does your family have any shows or movies that bond you guys? Um, my mom, both my parents have a love of westerns and Western movies. And that's
Starting point is 00:13:09 something that they connect over, but my mom loves older movies. And so as a kid, she'd always try to make us watch these movies and we couldn't appreciate them but there was this one movie that we all loved and it's called Splendor in the Grass. It is so good. It's Natalie Wood. It's a young worn baby and it's just like a coming of age movie which are always really, really good. So you should watch it if you get a chance. It's old that it's in color but that was one of our like movies that we love to watch. Oh that's so sweet. So I'm I'm I'm in Minnesota right now, staying with my mom, and so we're always looking for cute movies to watch. We watched Hope Floats the other day, which I don't know. I know that I've seen it
Starting point is 00:13:55 when I saw it when I was little, but I didn't remember it. And so here I am like sobbing with my mom because Sandra Bullock's mom dies at the end. And it's just, that was a sweet one. Have you, maybe this is just me. I'm obsessed with this movie. Have you ever seen or watched it with your family, the first wives club? Oh, I've watched. the first rest of it is one of my favorite movies no i don't watch it though with my family it's one of my personal yeah wait becca you don't understand in eighth grade there was a talent show and we did you do this too no but my sister and i want to be them for Halloween okay you should and we dressed up at the end and saying you don't know me yes i that just we did the whole dance and then
Starting point is 00:14:45 it was like such a big deal my joe went to small school where they were like 40 people in my class and they were like encore on core on core we were like uh again i love it yeah wait who had like the white power suit we didn't dress up in costume oh okay we just all took on characters um in the movie i didn't remember which one i was but like we i might have been goldie hon because i feel like i remember standing on the chair and like figure up in the air and you know it's so i i'm obsessed with that movie So is that y'all's movie? That, yes, I would say. I was trying to rack my brain for, like, movies that really have brought my family
Starting point is 00:15:21 together. But for the females in my family, with my mom and sister, first wives club, hands down. Like, I remember watching that when I was, like, God, seven or eight. And, like, the scene when they're, like, in the window washing thing and it's, like, going down. Oh, yeah. And even, like, I don't know why the scene always sticks out to me, but when they're all with their, they're all holding their glasses of champagne and they all throw their rings in the
Starting point is 00:15:48 champagne and cheers. It's just, it's such a badass feel good. It is. Strong woman movie. Yeah. That if you are listening and haven't seen that, this is your homework for the week is to go watch First Wives Club because you will not be disappointed. And then learn the words so you don't own me because that song to come out when it did back in the day, Leslie Gore singing it is so freaking powerful. It should top the billboard charts now because of the power and that song and the guts that she had to come out with it
Starting point is 00:16:20 back in the day. Shall we sing a verse? We could. Do you want to start or do you want me to take it? Oh, go ahead. Talk to the beginning. Start me in the beginning. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:16:31 One, two, three. You don't know me. Don't try to change me in any way. Oh, I definitely missed a verse. I can catch up there, though. Wait, wait, let me, let me kick it off for you. And don't tell me what to do. And don't tell me what to say.
Starting point is 00:16:54 And the way that I want. Oh, just. Okay, this is going down. I'm young. And I love to be young. I'm free. And I love to be free. You're going to live my life.
Starting point is 00:17:10 The way that I'm going to. want to say and do oh I still remember the dance moves I mean how badly did you want to take a handkerchief right in the street and say you don't know me but no no you don't know me
Starting point is 00:17:25 so good and you know what when Hannah Brown's season came out and that was her theme I mean it wasn't the original but just the fact that it was her thing song where? Yeah don't you remember it was like her promo video of her walking through the woods
Starting point is 00:17:41 Oh, the commercial, yes. Yeah, and that was her song, and I was like, okay, I actually don't like it. They gave her that song now, because that was a missed opportunity bachelor marketing for her when she removed her skirt, she should have taken a handkerchief out of her top and swung it around.
Starting point is 00:17:59 That was a missed opportunity. Should we re-film it? I didn't even think of that, no. We'll save it for the next bachelor's. Oh, my gosh, what a missed opportunity. And you guys hold us accountable for this when Becca and I get together, we're going to watch the movie, we're going to get wine wasted, we're going to get our handkerchiefs, or rip off our mask because we'll be COVID-free,
Starting point is 00:18:20 and we're going to march down the street, and we're going to say, to that, look that mask in the face and say, you don't know me, bu, but, but, no, no. Don't tell what to do. I'm going to watch that movie. Tonight, I'm watching that. No, don't keep it. I'm watching that movie tonight. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Seriously, wouldn't you? I can do a whole. We should recap movies. I do the whole. We got to get two more badass women with us, and we need to do this for Halloween. Wait, one more. We only need three people. No, four. No. Three. Rachel.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Wait, who's the fourth? Batman, Meddler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton. And then the one with the, um... Wait, no. It's... Oh my God. Am I thinking of the one that died? The fourth would come in. Yeah, you're right. That's the first five Rizzo from Greece. Yes.
Starting point is 00:19:15 That's the first five movement. I think she still counts, though. She really brought them together. But the dance is three people. So remember last week when we were talking about movies and like who would play our family? I, so my mom is obsessed with Diane Keaton because of this movie. So she was kind of upset that I went with. Well, she also loves Sally Field.
Starting point is 00:19:36 So she was okay with that. Both are great choices. but now that you have I was like there were clearly three and I only know because we reenact I'm telling you we did this in a talent show that's how I know
Starting point is 00:19:51 yeah that's true shout out to shout out to Aaron Ross now Taylor and Robin Rankin who are my fellow Please tell me you have this on a home video Aaron Aaron does it is on a video somewhere
Starting point is 00:20:02 Aaron if you are listening we need this and here's the we'll say this because Beck and I can keep talking about this movie and we'll move on. But the sad thing is, we thought we were so cool and we nailed it. And I remember watching it back, maybe like a few years later, seniors in high school, it's the most pitiful performance that I've ever seen. You got an encore, though.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Yeah, all 40 people in the audience. Hey, it sounds good. It was like a great graduation. Okay. I want to see it. Yes, you're right. I feel like we go. You guys, if you haven't, you will fill our joy.
Starting point is 00:20:36 You have to go see this movie. You need to hear the song. You will fill our joy right to us. Tell us your own First Wives Club stories because we want to share with you guys because clearly you're obsessed with it and we didn't know we loved it this much together. Okay. So you guys, enough is enough. We get it.
Starting point is 00:20:53 It's almost as if we forgot we were podcasting for a second. But as we teased at the very beginning, it's that time to have our guests on. And I would like to add that this is the first time that we have had fans on the show. This is something that we talked about doing. always wanted to connect with you guys in a more intimate way and now we get to do that and so we're doing it with these lovely women three generations we're having emily her mother leslie and her grandmother honey all along to talk about their love of the bachelor franchise and to hear about how it brings their family together you guys this is so exciting this is so fun grandma honey we have
Starting point is 00:21:35 been waiting to meet you and the family. You guys, I have to start up by saying you're the first fans that we've ever had on the podcast. So thank you for wanting to join us. I think Rachel and I are probably more excited than you are. Yeah. I don't think so. We're not a bit of pressure there, but that's okay. Thanks. All right. To start real quick, let's just explain who you all are in each other's family and kind of how your relationship has been built around The Bachelor. Sure. I'll go first. So, hi, everyone. I'm Emily. I am 24 years old. I am currently back in Westchester in the house I grew up in. Thank you, COVID-19. And today with me, I'll let them introduce themselves, but I have my mom and my grandma, who is super special. Hi, everybody. I'm Leslie. I'm
Starting point is 00:22:28 Emily's mom. I'm older than 24 and younger than Grandma Honey. So, you know, pick whichever number in between you really want because I'm open for that. And 27. Thank you. That works. And, you know, we are a really close family and of strong women, smart women, and we love to look for things to keep us close and you know what bachelor nation has done that for us um so thank you for that especially in these you know the co-vocation as i call it um times yeah and last but not least the woman i am grandma honey and i don't have to tell you how old i am because everybody knows at this point and i was lucky that my son chose leslie because she really is a daughter to me. And Emily is my angel from angels, uh, warm, considerate, loving. The whole family is.
Starting point is 00:23:34 They're just wonderful. Thanks, grandma. Oh, grandma. I love you, mom. And I'm a retired school teacher. Beautiful. Beautiful. We are so happy to have you guys with us. And I think just reading your message and knowing that you hit the nail in the head about being strong women. And and that you connect by watching this show. And, like, Becca and I, we like to consider ourselves a strong woman, Becca. And I love that we've been able to showcase that through the Bachelor franchise. So I have to ask you guys, though, the show connects you, but what is it that you love so much about the show? I think it's the romance.
Starting point is 00:24:16 It's the love. It's the happy. And every so often, I mean, you see the kooky characters, but you see the real people also. And like my mom raised me and my grandma raised me, you have to be strong as a woman, and you really have to advocate for yourself. And you definitely see that through bits and pieces of the show. And I think, I mean, that coupled with the entertainment and the fact that the three of us are able to watch together and text every Monday with my grandma, who is my only grandparent left. It's a really just nice way to connect all of us. So the reason I love the show is I like the thought of happily ever after.
Starting point is 00:24:58 I like the happy endings, like not those kind of happy endings, but you know what I mean happy endings. So, you know, and I call a Bachelor night, I back to call Monday nights our bachelor parties. And we have a Bachelor party every Monday night. I invite Emily's best friend since kindergarten over Tara and her mom Debbie, who's my mom, Debbie, who's my birthday. friend. We have dinner. Then Emily, you know, and Grandma Honey and I are in a three-way text group. We have so much fun. And, you know, it's another connection that will be part of the family lore. And it also keeps us connected to Grandma Honey, because we always want to be connected as Grandma Honey. And she is our matriarch. So that's what, and I love, I love the women on
Starting point is 00:25:45 this show because I don't like when they fight because I don't think that shows women in their best light. I hate that. But I like, like the two of you are so great for women to see strong, outspoken individuals and who don't necessarily need a man to complete them, but want that part of their life. So I like to see those professional women like you in the franchise. I think that's good for women. Thank you so much for saying that. Thank you. I have been watching. What is it that you love. I have been watching the show since day one. And my husband and I had, we like some of the same things. And I said, Al, I want you to watch a cookie show tonight. You don't have to stay with it. Well, we were both hooked. We watched it every single week. And my girlfriends
Starting point is 00:26:35 now, no, they're not allowed to call me on Monday nights because I'm at my party. And it just, I'm a romantic at heart. What could I say? I'm always looking for the. better and it's a show that makes me happy there are sad moments but basically it makes me feel happy and getting together with the two of them i can't tell you what that means to me because it's a connection that i love that maybe i wouldn't have during the week they're busy they're working it's just it's a wonderful connection and i look forward to monday nights that's so sweet i i love that you said that you're romantic i feel like some people especially in the newer seasons they watch it more for the drama than the real life love story and connection
Starting point is 00:27:30 that's taking place um so grandma honey it sounds like you are maybe a hopeless romantic but emily and leslie would you two consider yourselves the same you can go first i would say yes um Um, so I've been dating my boyfriend now for a little bit over a year. And there are definitely parts of our relationship where I just like have these visions. And, you know, like I do like the romantic acts. And like one day, for example, like my favorite food is pretzels. And he was dropping something off for me. Like he bought me stamps or something.
Starting point is 00:28:05 And then he like, threw me a bag of pretzels. And I was like, that's so romantic. Like, that's so nice. So thoughtful. So, like, things of that scale all the way through, like, those big grand gestures, I definitely am a hopeless romantic. I think we all are, you know, and the show teaches you that. Oh, go ahead, Leslie. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come back. No, that's okay. I don't know if I would say I'm a hopeless romantic, but I'm very sensitive, as my whole family knows, and very sentimental.
Starting point is 00:28:35 And I've always been about the effort. It's not about the outcome, but it's about the effort. So, like, when Connor put all those little notes up when Hannaby was sick and, like, brought her soup, that says something about his character. Like, that, to me, spoke volumes. So I like that part of the show. When I was watching Trista and I was watching Ryan and how Ryan wrote poetry for her, that to me was beautiful. That's what I love about the show. That's the things I look for in the show. It makes me feel good to see.
Starting point is 00:29:11 I want everybody to be happy. I'm a pleaser. That's my role in the family in life. I want all my friends and family to be happy and healthy and make them happy and do things so that when I see other people do that, it really makes me smile. I mean, it makes me smile. It makes me happy. And that's some of the things that I see in the show.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Yeah. It's so funny you bring up the Trista and Ryan part because I had never seen Trista season until the greatest seasons ever. And I don't even have to ask. I know you guys are watching. And so it was like seeing it for the first time. I thought that moment was so beautiful. I said, Trista, I would have said everybody go home after that moment.
Starting point is 00:29:50 It was just something very sincere to see. And a lot of times you don't get to see the sincerity on the show because of the drama. But this kind of leads into my next question because I was going to ask you guys, what are some of your favorite Bachelor history moments or moments in Bachelor history? So Grandma, honey, I'm going to start with you. You've been watching since day one, so I know you've got a few favorite moments from Bachelor history. Go. I don't remember specific moments.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Remember my age, but I remember Bachelors. I loved Travis, the doctor. Oh, he's great. He has his own show. He was an emergency room doctor. I thought he was down to earth and sweet. Naturally, I loved Ryan. and I love that the fact that they got together together
Starting point is 00:30:41 and I like the girls that were involved with them they weren't bad-mouthed the other girls they weren't hysterical they weren't crying crazy I love that I like Sean and his wife I thought they were an adorable couple and I was rooting for them I'm trying to think of some of the others you know what my memory is not Not 100%.
Starting point is 00:31:09 But in the most part, I found that the girl bachelors, I like better as a whole than the boy bachelors. Well, we just do it better. The boy bachelors that were in the group with the girls with a bachelorette, they were terrific those guys. And you know that. You too. I was going to tell you, did you see that Travis just had his first child? Yeah. yes okay yeah yeah i was going to tell you that he's like over the moon so excited about that
Starting point is 00:31:43 i didn't want to not have that information yes i also loved colton felt that he he needed a little growing up to do but i did like him back what about you emily and leslie some of your favorite bachelor bachelor's moments my favorite moments i think when i think through them is always when the girls are telling off the guys i just like whether it was kind of be with Luke P and that was like oh that was just waiting to happen like we were waiting all seasons for that I was not happy I thought it was
Starting point is 00:32:14 very dangerous situation just show you know um so I really loved like her telling him off I think so Becca your season was the first season that I really started watching religiously and I think you were the perfect
Starting point is 00:32:28 person for me to start doing that because I think you're extremely strong and showed that throughout your season so I really liked your season as well and he wasn't good enough for you, Ari. I love it. I love it. Everything happens for a reason.
Starting point is 00:32:46 You know, you know. Look where you are now, right? Exactly. Yes. So, not happy. Keep going. I love all the honesty.
Starting point is 00:32:59 I thought I'm going to stop you. But the final thing, I think, that I remember watching was on Hannaby's season when she was doing the naked bungee jumping and I remember I was sitting and I had my bachelor
Starting point is 00:33:13 group of friends that I watch with every Monday and we were sitting there and as they're doing it you see her dangley earrings and I'm like they took everything else off but they left me earrings on
Starting point is 00:33:23 for her to go upside down and I was like we were all sitting down how is this happening? I didn't even notice that before that's hilarious yeah so I really liked
Starting point is 00:33:36 when Colton went to Cassie's house and Cassie's dad like called I have a little Cassie's dad and a little bit of bar but not as much in me as a mom and when Cassie's dad said like you're saying this to all the other girls how could you be in love so quickly which by the way and you guys can maybe answer this to me because I don't get that
Starting point is 00:33:58 I dated you know Michael my grandma honey son for two years we got engaged got married after three and like you guys have a very short period of time where you need to and all of a sudden you're in love and going to get married. So, like, I don't get that whole thing to begin with, even though I want it to work. So I love that he called Colton on the carpet. For that, I thought that was awesome.
Starting point is 00:34:20 I think I also, like I said, I love Jordan from your season just because I'm like, oh, my God, does this guy not understand what he looks like that guy? Like, what is his mother saying? I loved him too. I always say all the time when I see these people. I'm like, do they know that, like, their parents are watching this.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Like, what is wrong with this? And, like, you know, like his gold underwear. I'm like, oh, my God. And I'm showing that for the whole world. Nobody really needs to see that. So that was, like, one of my favorite. Jordan, yeah, Jordan was, I can't even, like, say he was a character because he was, like, himself.
Starting point is 00:34:59 But he just, he's just a funny guy. But it's funny that you say that because, um, When I left to go on Ari's season of The Bachelor, and then also when I became Bachelorette, the one thing that I told the girls when we first moved into the mansion that we kept reiterating throughout like the entire season and it never made it to camera, but before I left my Uncle Gary, who is my mom's brother, but he's a pastor, he kept saying like, what would Uncle Gary think? What would Uncle Gary do? And so the entire time, if it had like anything scandalous or dramatic or Petty was. going down, I would like utter under my breath to the girls, what would Uncle Gary do? What would Uncle Gary do? And so it became this running joke of like, don't embarrass ourselves in front of our parents who are going to be watching in, you know, two months or whatever it was. So that's funny that you say that because I think that, you know, I'm not a parent so I can only imagine, but I feel like anyone watching their sons or daughters or family members would be
Starting point is 00:36:00 thinking that exact same thing. Right, right. I mean, I was also, I really love try not to embarrass anyone. Yeah, I was like, seriously, like, think about you. But you also have to be yourselves. Like, some things I do, like, I'm sure you would be embarrassed. Like, you know, I don't know. Like, I just... No, you would not be that stupid.
Starting point is 00:36:17 I'm sorry. So, Emily, I know that you do have a boyfriend. You mentioned it. If you weren't seeing him, would you ever consider going on the show? And Leslie and Grandma, honey, what would you say to that? Mom shaking her head, no. the reason why I don't think I would is, you know, being, following the franchise for as many years as I have now and seeing the, the bachelors and the bacheloretts from like seven to
Starting point is 00:36:48 10 to 15 years ago versus now. I think it's very different. Your life afterwards. I mean, I think now it's a lot of people come out of it and they're influencers and they're in the spotlight. And that is their everyday job. And I don't think that would. be for me um you see that a lot less with the previous bachelor and bachelor's obviously being social media wasn't around and kind of the digital world looked really different um so I think that's a big reason why I don't think I could do it because I think there's just so much more limelight um and your life really changes so yeah right doesn't your life anyway you are so ahead of your age yeah I mean look at look at the examples that
Starting point is 00:37:31 she has. I selfishly would want to see you on it because I want to see how Leslie would respond to a hometown since you have compared yourself to Barb. And then, I mean, can you imagine Grandma Honey there too? Like, uh-uh. She wouldn't let no one would get mad. Grandma Honey would steal the show. You know what? Let Grandma Honey steal the show. Honestly, I would never want her let's be honest. And I really want to be a bachelorette. I don't want to be a bachelorette. Bachelorette. You know, if anybody tells me they love me or they're going to take care of me, I would fall in love with them. The last person who would be great. I'm with them. I could never make up my mind. Oh, you'd be great TV. It would be so fun to watch you. You would.
Starting point is 00:38:18 I love everyone. Honey. Well, so I need to ask you because you were obviously married for quite some time. You would watch the show with your husband. What are some tips? for all of us listening for a long, healthy marriage. Well, you know, I think we had a lot of the same interests. We both, we enjoyed the same. He was a tennis player. We enjoyed watching the tennis games. If I wanted to watch a certain television program,
Starting point is 00:38:49 he was willing to try it. He didn't stay with it if he didn't like it. But he did like this, and we did do that together. We did everything together. We shoped together. We went out to, I mean, not just. just the two of us. We went out with couples, but we went out a lot. We were very happy. And then he got sick. He had Parkinson's. And it was a long struggle. But even that, he was wonderful.
Starting point is 00:39:16 He never complained. Go to the beauty parlor. Go play Marshal. Go do your thing. And it was just a happy marriage. And I adored him. And I really miss him. And just so you guys know. I was married 60 years. 60. Yeah. The day that this podcast is coming out is actually their wedding anniversary. It would have been 64 years. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:39:41 So I believe in all this. I realized it when she sent me the date. And I said, oh, my God, this must be dad. I said to her grandpa, Hal is looking down. And I called her immediately and I said, Dad's saying he likes this because he approves because this is when it's going to because I believe in a lot of these things. I do too.
Starting point is 00:40:00 I believe in that, too. In many ways, I know he's there with me. And when this is coming out July 28th, I said, oh, well, Al, we're celebrating. Happy anniversary. Happy anniversary. I'm so happy that you shared that. I think that that's beautiful. It's something that we achieve, you know, we want to achieve towards.
Starting point is 00:40:23 And I just love what you said. It's so beautiful. And I think sometimes when we're talking about the show, and just the dramatics of it you forget the little things like you mentioned it leslie when you talked about the notes but you talking about you did everything together you would shop you would go hang out with other couples you play tennis it's those little things that make a lasting relationship and so I'm so thankful that you shared that with us and all of our bachelor happy hour listeners thank you yeah also you need fair value you really do need fair values and that's like that's when I'm watching the show
Starting point is 00:40:58 Like, I know that there's a lot of things they don't show you, but how do you see that side to know that this is the person? Because, you know, you can go on 20 million days, but unless you're really digging deep, like, how do you get to that? Because if you don't have shared values, it's not going to be worth it. Some of the fathers ask the right questions. They do. Girls never bother asking them. Yeah. They do.
Starting point is 00:41:24 I will tell you, and Bacta, I don't know if you got to do this, but when we, my hometowns were a little bit different because my sister was pregnant and so she couldn't fly to where it ended in Spain so we did mine a little bit early and I remember after all the men had met my family I got to sit and talk to my family
Starting point is 00:41:44 like what did you guys think? Who did you like? They made me say something positive and negative about each one and then they gave their own opinions and so I took that, I wrote it down and I know we like to romanticize and it is romanticize and it is romantic and dramatized the fantasy suite,
Starting point is 00:42:00 that's truly the opportunity to ask those questions to find out if that person is aligned with you when it comes to your values and your morals. So I would take the information that my parents gave me, the concerns that they had, I would take my own concerns, questions that I would have, and I would ask them during the fancy suite. And then after that, it's just taking a leap of faith.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Right. And it's really after the engagement, and once you're done filming, truly do get to know the other person. And kind of like what you said, the little day life things, like somebody buying you pretzels and just getting to know you, you would have never, you know, for Rachel and I would have never probably had that on the show. It wasn't until we were outside of it. But yeah, I agree, you know, interests are definitely important. The value is so important, Leslie. So for everyone
Starting point is 00:42:52 listening, I might, like, we need to have you guys on every week just for this advice because it's Wonderful. One thing I do want to ask because I know, you know, watching with family and friends, like, we sometimes say things that it's either inappropriate or it's funny. Like, you have these shared inside jokes. What are some of the funniest things that Grandma Honey has said while you guys are watching the show together? I know you have something safe.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Oh, my God. I just have to press it. that every week I read Grandma's commentary out loud to the group of girls that I watch with and they say, you know, that makes their experience. So everyone gets to experience it. And when we're at, when I'm at my bachelor parties with Debbie and Tara, like, they're like,
Starting point is 00:43:41 what's Grandma Honey saying now? Oh, she must have something to say. So my favorite. I didn't pull punches. I didn't pull punches. If I saw somebody, I don't like her. I don't want to see her. I don't like her.
Starting point is 00:43:56 I don't like him. Watch with her makeup. She needs to wear the leg of makeup. Yeah. No, Grandma Honey does not hold back. My favorite thing every week, which is like our own little tradition, is during the rose ceremony, Grandma Honey will send her commentary after every single girl or guy is called.
Starting point is 00:44:16 So by the end of the rose ceremony, I have about the length of my phone a list of yeses, nose, booze, yes. days, which is great. Okay, but we should also preface this by saying, Emily and I are always behind Grandma Honey. So she's commenting on things that we don't even know yet, and I call her the spoiler. So I'm like, Mom, you have to stop doing that.
Starting point is 00:44:40 You're not there. I'm just showing up what my memory remembers. One of my favorite things, I think, was during one of Colton and Katz, these dates, which they obviously showed a lot of them making out. Throughout the season, and I remember during one of the dates they were making out, and we're like, okay. And Grandma's like, oh, this is his for play. Which led to all the drama, honey.
Starting point is 00:45:13 But Emily, that Emily, it wasn't for play for Colton. Even better. can we make a request so when claire's season finally is airing so grandma honey before you joined us we were talking about we need to get you on instagram because i feel like our followers and our listeners are going to fall in love with you they're going to want to see and hear more of you so could we do a thing where it's like grandma honey's texts where we can go alongside week by week and know her thoughts because i feel like i would love That would bring people together in such a fun way. Okay, I feel like we should do some bachelor superlatives a little bit. So I want to know from all of you, who's your favorite bachelor, who's your favorite bachelorette, and who's the hottest bachelor? Grandma, honey.
Starting point is 00:46:16 I think the hottest one was Tyler. What? Tyler wasn't even a bachelor, but who take it? Well, we'll take it. But he just immersed. Yeah. He would take his shirt off. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:34 And I've seen more pictures of him recently than before. Yes. Oh, my gosh. We should call him and have you say hello. Oh, my God. He was like my grandson. My son. No, he's not like your grandson, mom.
Starting point is 00:46:56 No, but I mean age-wise. Oh, yeah, he's around, yeah, he is. My son is 27. Are you really, she's really calling him? I think she's really calling him. Grandma, honey, you might have an opportunity. I was going to tell Rachel to FaceTime him to see if we could get like an abshot or something. Oh, my God, and what about the new?
Starting point is 00:47:17 I like his friend, too, the new bachelor, matching Matt. I like Matt. Oh, Matt. Mm-hmm. I like what he does. Yeah, it'll be. Oh, my God. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:27 Oh, she's on the phone. Oh, my God. Honey, this is your moment. She's getting Tyler on the phone. I also like Ben a lot. I like Ben. Okay. Okay, Grandma, honey, can you say hello?
Starting point is 00:47:44 Mom, say hello. Hey, Grandma, honey, how are you? It's Tyler. Can you speak just a little bit louder? Can you say hello again? Hey, Grandma, honey. It's Tyler. How you doing? Hi, Tyler. I really enjoyed watching you on The Bachelor, and I have named you the sexiest guy there. You can't, you probably can hear. Can you hear her?
Starting point is 00:48:13 I can't hear her. I have headphones on, but she can hear you. She said that she named you the sexiest guy in Bachelor Nation. She just wanted you to know that. Oh, I'll take it. Maybe Grandma, honey. She said you're welcome. Okay, thanks, Tyler. We've got to go. We're going to have to get Grandma, honey. Grandma, honey, we're going to have to get you once things are open and we one day resume normalcy.
Starting point is 00:48:38 We're going to have to get you to like after the final rose or men tell all or something. Yep. She would be a great commentator, honestly. Grandma, what do you think about that? Mm-hmm. Oh, my God. but I'm too honest sometimes. I was very happy that Tyler didn't end up with Hannaby.
Starting point is 00:48:59 Who I did not lie. Grandma, honey, there's no such thing as too much honesty. Sometimes matronation needs more honesty. And I think you just didn't want him to end up with Hanna B because you might want him for yourself. That's a good point, Becca. That's a good point. You know, I wish I remembered more of the girls and the guys more clearly.
Starting point is 00:49:26 You know, I remember that as a general program, but I wish I remembered more clearly so I could comment on. I loved a lot of them, and the few I didn't like, I was very verbal about. Grandma, honey, who did you, who was like the biggest villain that you've watched through at the seasons, that you did not like. Yeah. There were a couple of guys there that I, was it, was it Ari? I can't think of the names.
Starting point is 00:50:01 There were a couple of guys. That sounds about right. Well, that would work. There were a couple there that I felt. I felt they were there for the wrong reasons that they were just trying to get themselves in front of the screen and get some, you know, air time maybe for their music or for their jobs. I kind of saw through them right away.
Starting point is 00:50:22 And that's why I really liked some of the father's questions, because they saw too. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It sounded like we needed you on our seasons with us to give us advice. Oh, boy. Well, my advice to Claire. Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I remember Claire. I thought she stood out when I watched her. She's a beautiful young woman. And I think that she should certainly not under. estimate herself, be herself, and not be part of the girls that talk about each other and knock each other and just be herself, be true to herself. And I really hope that she finds someone who can love her, really. I liked her. Yeah. Flair's going to be great. I'm excited. I'm excited because she's more mature and I think that she's more. She's grown up, so she's
Starting point is 00:51:18 knows she knows who she is so therefore if you are happy and know who you are finding somebody else to be your other half or your partner so to speak will be that much easier that's the issue with i think a lot of the later shows now is everybody's so much more less mature so they're not ready for these committed relationships they don't even know what they want to be when they grow out yeah that's what i always say you you know you asked earlier on the show you said how do you fall in love so quickly how do you say all of that? It's scary because you're figuring out this whole journey and these men out. And what you're finding in these last couple of leads is that they're also trying to figure out who they are.
Starting point is 00:51:58 It doesn't work. And that's why you don't see these relationships working. So you have to know who you are. And Claire, we had her on a couple of weeks ago. I mean, leap years ahead of people. So I'm very excited. And Emily, I think you're going to get your wish with her telling the man off. I hope so much.
Starting point is 00:52:17 I think Claire is going to be doing that quite a bit. That's what I was going to. Yeah, I think she's going to be one that us as females watching are going to be able to back her and, you know, just really feel empowered watching her, especially some of the younger girls who maybe had just started watching the show. I think she'll do awesome. So we have to pivot because we love playing games on our podcast. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:52:45 And so, Grandma Honey. we know that you've been watching since season one and that's been 18 plus years and you're the one who kind of started this tradition with your family and the girls watching the show so with that being said we want to see which one of you would win in a game of Bachelor trivia okay oh god
Starting point is 00:53:04 so here's how it's going to work my Emily's going to tell me okay Emily's going to win I'm telling you know and if you don't know names if you if you remember anyone and can just describe them that works too we'll we'll try to you know who know who you're talking about so we're going to be asking a series of bachelor trivia questions and if you know the answer whoever raises their hand first gets to answer first um to get a stab
Starting point is 00:53:32 at the question so whoever gets the most questions right will win okay okay so to start off um i'm i'm gonna i'm gonna start with an easier one who was the first ever bachelorette trust of sutter well now sutter yes yes i don't even know what her name was before sutter that's a good point i think it was rind or ring was that yeah yes look at you yeah yeah double point yeah oh my gosh for a newbie who just started watching more recently you know a lot girl did you google some of these you know what i started watching and now i go back and i rewatched everything because I know all the players I just don't know where they came from so I do a little backtrack yeah I do that too okay who was the only guy to be the bachelor twice
Starting point is 00:54:26 oh what's his name oh shit I'll give it to you I mean the question who was the only guy why who was the only guy to be the bachelor twice okay he was just on the first time he didn't propose to anybody and the second time he did propose but he since broke up and yeah you got it She's got it. She's got it. Team effort. I did not like Brad at all. Both times, both seasons.
Starting point is 00:54:57 You didn't like them at all, period. I didn't. You know, he was very good looking. And at first, you say, oh, what a handsome guy. He had no personality. He was like dead. I did not like him. I didn't think, I couldn't see how any look.
Starting point is 00:55:13 girls would have chosen him and he didn't choose them right and then I couldn't understand why they gave him another chance because it was a try to a typical case of a case of a guy just not knowing what he wanted no no till as old as time yes but you know what it happens all the time they're all the time they're all good looking until they open their mouth and then they're dumb and it doesn't matter how good look they are they just don't look to see I agree I remember I remember watching there was a young girl who at the end, she didn't choose anybody. I think she was a gymnast. Oh.
Starting point is 00:55:55 She didn't choose anybody. I don't know. Maybe. I'm trying to think. I don't know. This might be before my bachelor, my mouth. I think she was a gymnast. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:08 And I think she was on. And I have a feeling that she. didn't choose anybody at the end. Hmm. Okay. We'll have to do some digging. I mean, you know more than us because you've been watching. For knowing something that's not enough.
Starting point is 00:56:23 Plus one. Plus one. See, the brain? She said she doesn't have a good memory. But I don't remember. So I have a feeling. It's all right, mom. Well, Grandma, honey, I have a feeling you might get this next one because we did talk
Starting point is 00:56:41 about him very, very briefly. Which Bachelor said, I love you to two different women? Oh, I know who that is, but I can't give you the name. I know exactly who that is. You just said he was one of your favorites. I think you mentioned he was one of the most handsome. After Tyler. Ben?
Starting point is 00:57:06 Yeah. Yeah. But I think there was another one. But you are correct. And I'm going to give you another point because I know you're thinking of Peter because technically he has said, I love you to several women. He did. Well, also, speaking from experience, Ari did as well. And Ari did too.
Starting point is 00:57:25 There was a lot of others. Right. Yeah. But Ben was the first. He started a trend. Bad trend. Bad trend. He did.
Starting point is 00:57:33 A very bad trend. A trend that shouldn't be followed. Yeah. Who season? Who season? Oh, who season of The Bachelor? was Claire Crowley on. Grandma, you know this one.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Oh, she told him off, right? Didn't she tell him off? What was the question? It wasn't Juan Carlo. Was it one something? Oh, Juan, Juan Pablo. I'll give you that one. Pablo.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Oh, Pablo was disgusting. I like the part when she told him off. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I think all of America loved that part. Oh, yeah. This is, yeah, see, I forgot about that when you asked what favorite part, but that would have been one of my favorite parts. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:19 I don't like to go. This is real. See them all over again. You might get your wish. Well, you're getting that with the recaps. This is why we either have to watch all together one day or we need Grandma Honey's text because I feel like you say what all of America thinks. Yeah. She does love.
Starting point is 00:58:42 Listen, you're making me not sound as bad, okay? Like, people always get on to me for what I say. And I'm like, well, you know what? Grandma honey said it first. Exactly. But you've earned the right. You've earned the right to say whatever it is that you want. Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Yes. Yes. When you reach 90, you could say anything. Yes. Exactly. Exactly. 90 years young. Yes, you can.
Starting point is 00:59:05 Okay, you should just know her son. My husband is very uptight about this. He's like, I'm they going to edit. this out and it's very worried that she's going to say something that isn't going to be she is a gift i agree let me tell him a gift i told him not to worry yeah yeah listen it's better being that way than complaining about all my aches and pains you got it mom yeah yeah amen amen grandma honey all right let's see this this one might be a little more tough but who is pilot Pete currently dating.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Grandma, you know that. Come on. We know this. Kelly. Yeah. And you know what? Mama proves. Oh.
Starting point is 00:59:53 We loved Kelly, Grandma. She was one of our favorites. I know, but I'm one of my favorites, too, and I liked her because she's smart. Right. But I don't understand why she's with him because, honestly, he was, he's dumb as dirt. I mean, he's a nice man. He's a nice guy, but he's not too, like. He just kept saying the same things over and over through his whole season.
Starting point is 01:00:15 It's like it was the broken record. And she's very smart. She clearly is successful. I mean, listen, he got thrown off after he slept with Hannah. I mean, that's not a good sign. Just saying. Yeah. After it was publicized and had its own, you know, it became a character on the show.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Yeah. Yeah. But you know, but Kelly knew him from before. And I think she had a crush on him right away. and tried to be, you know, his love of life. And then when they have The Bachelor, everybody talks about it afterward, she was there in the audience.
Starting point is 01:00:53 So she wasn't letting go. But we all felt that she had more on the ball than he did. Yep. Yes. Very insightful. Yes. I think what people loved about Kelly, too, is like you mentioned,
Starting point is 01:01:06 she's down to earth. But she's one of the few contestants. that I've really ever seen that didn't let like the bubble and the hype of the show get to them. She still seemed to be who she was throughout
Starting point is 01:01:22 and she didn't want to like play things up if they weren't there. And that's what I think, well, I know I did and I think Rachel you did too. That's what we loved about her was that she was just so chilling down to earth and was like, you know, I'm not going to say something and do something
Starting point is 01:01:36 just because it's for a TV show. Right. It was like she, she was just she was there to meet peter but she wasn't there for the whole commercial and drama and tv she wasn't there for the tv she's one of the few like you said bebecca really yeah and smart i mean yeah yeah okay how many they're happy yeah they seem happy well i'm glad that's important yes it is it is barb's one of my favorite people i like her too just say how many years has the bachelor been on air
Starting point is 01:02:11 18 20 18 is correct emily got it 18 years 18 years 18 years wow 18 years what a tradition how many more I got a lot
Starting point is 01:02:29 what you know grandma what I said we got a lot 18 more at least yeah yeah okay all right whose season of the Bachelor was Rachel on
Starting point is 01:02:43 Nick Nick Nick I was going to insert crickets it was next Nick Vile yes Nick Vile
Starting point is 01:02:57 okay so another Nick Vile question which two seasons was Nick Vile on which two seasons of the Bachelorette was he on oh I have no idea mom one has come on the greatest seasons who which two seasons
Starting point is 01:03:13 was nick vile on for the bachelorette remember he was on twice was they on jojos no he was on Caitlin yeah the one with her and now she's on was it Andy
Starting point is 01:03:26 yep yep I told you she's going to win oh yeah okay we're on Emily and Andy Grandma knows a lot what Rachel I know she knows she knows she
Starting point is 01:03:36 yes what's the score we have one question left so what's the score i have nothing no no you have two it is tied three three i think that's what i have yep three three grandma honey and emily so here is the tiebreaker and i'll do it since you have be it has be it has your name in it so i'll do it who were beck's top two men that of course i know grandma Emma, do you know the answer? I don't remember his name. It was Becca. It was Blake and Garrett.
Starting point is 01:04:15 Mm-hmm. Yep. Garrett. Yep. Garrett, she's with, Mom. Yep, that's right. That's right. So we'll split it.
Starting point is 01:04:23 You get one. You get Blake. You get Garrett to tie. Grandma, honey, and Emily. Yay. Rachel, I have a question for you, Rachel. Yes. Did I read that you got married,
Starting point is 01:04:36 recently? I did. I got married in August. We got married in... Oh, it's almost a year. Yes, we're celebrating a year in August. Congratulations. Thank you so much. It's been... And Becker, I didn't read that you got married yet, did I? No, I have not gotten married yet, but I did finally get a dog that I've been wanting forever. Oh, nice. Congratulations. Thank you. My pride and joy of James Minnow. I do. No, this was so much fun. We love playing games, and we just, we're so thankful that you guys shared your story
Starting point is 01:05:12 with us, Emily, and that we were able to have you on as our first ever fans on the podcast. I feel like you're a non-girl. And we should be all fans. We'll think, you guys are going to be a tough act to follow if I'm being honest. So we might just have to have you on again. Okay. Like I say, anyone, I'm willing to. and waiting. Maybe I can get
Starting point is 01:05:34 the swing working better. You got it. Once you got it on, you had it. But we can't, like Becca said, we can't thank you guys enough. Please keep supporting everything that Bathra Nation does. We just love our fans. You guys have kept this going for 18 years. You're a
Starting point is 01:05:49 testament to it, and we love that we have strong, smart women in our fan base. This has been more of a joy than you know. So we will let you guys go because I feel like we could keep talking to you on and on and on again. So please be safe and be healthy out there.
Starting point is 01:06:07 You too. Can I just say one thing? Your podcast is fabulous. Oh, you listen? Oh, I'm like, oh, gosh. I'm like, because I'm like, at the end, it's like her day or my day when we're working. I'm a preschool teacher, so I'm off in the summer. But at the day, we would take walks.
Starting point is 01:06:25 She would have her air pods in. I would have my air pod. And we're both listening to you guys. So even though we're not talking, so that we're sharing it. And I really, I love the friendship, the bond. I like the honesty about the issues that you speak about, especially in this day and age. And, you know, so I really, I really thank you both because you're a really good thing for the franchise. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:06:56 You are really positive outside of the everybody's beautiful and fall in love. in the commercial you there's depth here and so thank you for sharing that and I hope you you share this platform for many years to come thank you guys so much I have one thing to say I don't know what a podcast is they didn't know before and now Leslie and Emily are going to teach me and I'm going to listen to you all the time oh grandma honey you might need your own podcast after this wow oh my god i don't know if we have enough i don't think it's enough no it'll be great that the first time you're listening to a podcast you're featured on it so that'll be fun pretty cool grandma it's mom it's really awesome and think about this mom like this is going to last even afterwards so
Starting point is 01:07:49 when emily has grandchildren she'll be able to show her you and or him you and me how cool is that right Wow. I know, right? Yeah. It's great. It really is great. And, you know, in light of the way we're quarantined, I mean, I'm alone, and I talk to myself, and I could really be quite morose. And it's getting together with them and watching your program and just being part of the world, even though I'm in my own little sanctum.
Starting point is 01:08:24 So it's been great talking to you guys. and love your good love for to both of you. All right, Becca, that was amazing. I mean, to never have any fans on the show, to have talked about how much we've wanted to do it, and then to stumble across this magnetic, beautiful family, three generations of strong women. I mean, how did we get so lucky?
Starting point is 01:08:50 I know. I feel like that's the thing. You know, last week we kind of touched on the celebrity, aspect and celebrities who watch the show, but it's conversations like this of people who remind me of, you know, my family and just down to earth, fans who watched it, you know, for 18 years who know more about it than we even do is something so special. Those three women are incredible. I want to meet in person, Grandma Honey, at some point in my life. That is all my bucket list now. they need to get her to the next so as soon as everything is safe to the next live thing that
Starting point is 01:09:31 happens you know if you guys go back out on tour you need to make a stop wherever she is she needs to be there i mean just give her a mic give her the lights and just go she was fantastic the common family is invited to everything everything honorary honorary family members i will say too though it was really nice to hear what they had to say because you know sometimes you can hear the negative talk louder than you can hear anything else. So I just want to say thank you to all of our bachelor happy hour listeners. Thank you for your support. This was very special because we got the opportunity to kind of break the wall and talk to our fans. But we know you guys are listening. We know you guys are out there and you support us every single week and you support us
Starting point is 01:10:15 what we do outside of this podcast. So we want to take the opportunity to just say thank you. We don't thank you enough. We would never be doing. what we're doing if it wasn't for Bastor Nation. And so I think sometimes we fall short of thanking you guys for that. So thank you. Yes. Well said, Rachel, yes. And, you know, she said it best, but you guys are what makes this podcast and the show continue to go and grow. And so we, we truly would not be here without all of you listeners out there. Go and grow. I like that. Okay. I just kind of came out. So Beth and I are going to now leave this podcast. We are going go off and grow. We're going to grow and learn something this week, and we challenge you guys
Starting point is 01:10:58 to go and grow as well. I really like that. Okay, so thank you guys so much for tuning in. We hope this podcast made your day as much as it made ours, and we hope to keep mixing things up and kind of tapping into what it is that you guys want to hear and see from us and having fun whenever it comes to these, or whatever comes with these Bachelor greatest of all time episodes.
