Starting point is 00:02:37 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What do you get when you mix 1950s Hollywood, a Cuban musician with a dream, and one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time? You get Desi Arness.
Starting point is 00:02:49 On the podcast star in Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama, I'll take you in a journey to Desi's life, how he redefined American television and what that meant for all of us watching from the sidelines waiting for a face like hours on screen listen to starring desi arnaz and wilmer valderrama on the iHeart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast hey everyone welcome back to bachelor happy hour i'm joe and i'm serena
Starting point is 00:03:16 and this is the week of thanksgiving so we are going to do a little special episode just Serena and I answering some questions and talking for 30 minutes. You guys ready? Fuckle up, everyone. It's just me and Joe today. That's right. Well, we got a lot to talk about. We've done a lot over the past couple months.
Starting point is 00:03:37 I feel like we've been fucking traveling every goddamn minute. Yeah, we spent a lot of time at the airports. And as much as I'm grateful, I am tired. Yeah, I don't know why I had the swear so much there. It was very aggressive. I just came in hot. Jesus. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:51 So do you want to ask the first one or how do you want to do this? Yeah, we got a couple fan questions here. We have a list in front of us. So I think we'll just fly through them and see how many we get through. Yeah. Ready? Yeah. I mean, you didn't really answer my question.
Starting point is 00:04:07 What was your question? Do you want to do? I didn't ask, how are we doing this? I said, do you want to go first? My sister says I need to be better active listening. I think I'm a pretty good active listener, but sometimes my thoughts overpower the question, which I guess is the definition of being. a bad active listener actually yeah you do actually have to be a better active listener i've i've actually
Starting point is 00:04:26 been noticing that too really yeah i mean i just i mean you're just totally blown past what i asked you know i'm sorry you you know you got a you know you're you're smaller so you see so you're chatty or oh is that how it works i'm so little i just can't stop talking you gotta get your point across um please reask your question and i swear i'll listen this time do you want to go first yes okay there we go um okay so the first question that we have was how was your trip to scotland as well as our trip to soul and osaka and Tokyo let's start with scotland yeah scotland's great i love scotland i mean st andrews it's like if you if you if you love golf st andrews is like the mecca of it's like the capital the the start of golf it feels like
Starting point is 00:05:19 So that place was great And I will say we were able to spend like 24 hours in Edinburgh Which I would love to go back Because I really liked that in Burrow It was like a little it seemed to me Like a pocket of London I agree Yeah yeah St. Andrews was actually Scotland in general
Starting point is 00:05:40 I guess wasn't really somewhere that was majorly on my bucket list Not for any specific reason I just it just wasn't that high up there on my desirable destinations, but St. Andrews, we weren't together a ton in St. Andrews because you were working a lot. But it was so quaint. It was so beautiful. The people were so friendly. And I did get to walk nine holes with you on that one golf course. And I was having a blast. Yeah, I will say, though, the, the, what is it, haggis, the sausage. Yeah, I check. So if you don't know how to forgets, maybe you don't want to know, but we're going to
Starting point is 00:06:17 tell you it's like stomach intestines or like stomach lining isn't it something like something something along those lines yeah of like a cow so i chickened out i didn't try it but one of the guys that we were there with who is from scotland was like there's different forms of trying haggis and the best one is when they're like fried into little deep fried balls um what do you try like a scramble it was in your burrito was yeah it was just like in my burrito what kind of flavor was it or was it the texture it wasn't the texture it's more it was just I don't love lamb and it had it like it had that oh like a gamey flavor at least that's kind of what I maybe I would have liked it then um and then yeah we were only in Edinburgh for like just under 24 hours we had crazy weather in Edinburgh like it was windy it was downpouring rain we were trying to be so brave walking around the city and seeing it and then after a while we just had to call it quits because it was it was wild trying to be so brave i will say we're trying to be so brave we're like it's okay we know we got our jackets on we got our umbrellas like it so what like we'll get a
Starting point is 00:07:27 little wet but no we got a lot wet the shume was really good though i love de shume is so good i love de shum so much um okay and then like we don't have to break down every aspect of the agent trip but like out of i would say out of soul osaka in tokyo what was your favorite probably Tokyo yeah if i was going to go back to one of them right now i would choose tokyo just because i feel like there's so much to see like we were there for five days but i could go do i could go do another five days and have a totally new experience osaka we were there for two and i feel like we saw it not that i wouldn't go back i would still recommend it um And Seoul, Sol I loved, but it was a little bit hard with the cuisine and my nut allergy and the language barrier.
Starting point is 00:08:17 I will say, though, the Four Seasons in Seoul was probably my favorite hotel. Me too. I loved that place. It was incredible. That is the highlight of my trip. The Four Seasons in Seoul? Yeah. Your favorite part about travel really is staying at Nice Hotel Day.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Nice hotels. What are we going to do? I don't blame you. Sue me. Sue me. I like nice hotels. Sue me. Serena, what advice do you have to anyone traveling with dietary restrictions? I was expecting that question.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Okay, well, as you guys know, I just mentioned, I have a severe nut allergy. My go-to is to, I usually use like a translator app or chat GPT works great, and I translate, like, something very simple of just like, I have a severe nut allergy, please do not serve me nuts of any kind. and then sometimes I'll put like nut oils, nut products, et cetera. And I'll screenshot it and I'll make it my lock screen
Starting point is 00:09:18 on my phone so that if there is a language barrier to where I feel like they're not understanding me, I can just show that. And a lot of the times that helps. Like in Spain, that came clutch.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Italy was actually like really good with dietary restrictions. Yeah, better than I thought. Italy was incredible with dietary restrictions. Oh my God. I was so impressed.
Starting point is 00:09:37 So yeah, that's my go-to. I did printed cards. for this trip because we were going to Korea and also Japan and I found that was easier because the language barrier was so strong a lot of the time they would take the card from me and like take it to the back into the kitchen and then come back out and tell me and it was just something where it was like here take the card you can keep it like throw it away whatever I got like a hundred printed on Canva and that's my number one thing I guess on top of that like you know I have a lot
Starting point is 00:10:05 of anxiety and my allergy, but just doing everything I can to be conscientious of it, bringing my epipens, trusting the people that are telling me there's no nuts. And if I don't trust where we are, we don't feel safe. Joe and I will leave a restaurant just like respectfully say, hey, sorry, like we're not going to eat here. Because there's really no point in taking a risk. Like it'll really ruin the whole trip and potentially our whole lives. Well, okay. Joe, how was your experience running the marathon this year? year and how do you prepare i love marathon day and i really enjoy training um i didn't yes what part of training do you like i just enjoy training for something i just i just love that
Starting point is 00:10:52 like schedule and in running's like therapy for me yeah like my golf lessons and um so i enjoy that aspect for sure and i really like the day of the marathon because it's like this is what you've been working for it's exciting it's a great day um i didn't score as well as i wanted to i think i broke down around like mile 18 um and i got really like because i wore the ankle compression sleeves and it was the first time i wore them and they cut off halfway through my foot that i had just massive blisters that exploded on the bottom of my feet they were actually the biggest blisters of ever since i was just i was like the blood in my socks was like i was like wow this is terrible
Starting point is 00:11:37 and then like for like for like they got infected and then I was basically like five days I could barely walk um yeah he was on a full antibiotic and had a prescription cream because these blisters were so out of control yeah I think I think if I run it
Starting point is 00:11:50 if I run another marathon I will definitely just take more care of my feet as far as like Vaseline before I run yeah not using new products yeah and I and I I switch shoes a lot during during training and that kind of messed me up a little bit um so it's just like yeah like making sure that my shoes fit right and and kind of like just like those little things
Starting point is 00:12:17 and keeping it simple um and then I think I'm good you know in your defense though I feel like you broke down around mile 18 because your Garmin watch died so you weren't able to track your pace at all no I mean no no no I mean not being able to track track my pace was not great but Did you not charge your watch? I did, but it got disconnected. So there was connectivity issues and that just totally fucked me up. But that was not why. It was because I just, I need to run more 20 mile runs prior to the marathon.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Gotcha. Which is a lot of running and I just don't know if I want to do those miles anymore. Yeah, well, you would do the marathon again, do you think? I always say no and then I always do it. That's true. A decade ago, I was on the trail of one of the country's most elusive serial killers, but it wasn't until 2023 when he was finally caught. The answers were there, hidden in plain sight.
Starting point is 00:13:20 So why did it take so long to catch him? I'm Josh Zeman, and this is Monster, hunting the Long Island serial killer, the investigation into the most notorious killer in New York, since the son of Sam, available now. Listen for free on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcasts. On the podcast Health Stuff, we are tackling all the health questions that keep you up at night. Yes, I'm Dr. Priyanka Wally, a double board certified physician. And I'm Hurricane Dibolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled, do I have scurvy at 3 a.m. On Health Stuff, we're talking about health in a different way.
Starting point is 00:13:57 It's not only about what we can do to improve our health, but also what our health says about us. and the way we're living. Like our episode where we look at diabetes. In the United States, I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic. How preventable is type 2? Extremely. Or our in-depth analysis of how incredible mangoes are. Oh, it's hard to explain to the rest of the world that you, like,
Starting point is 00:14:24 your mangoes are fine because mangoes are incredible, but like, you don't even know. You don't know. You don't know. It's going to be a fun ride, so tune in. Listen to Health Stuff on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Robert Smith. This is Jacob Goldstein, and we used to host a show called Planet Money. And now we're back making this new podcast called Business History about the best ideas and people and businesses in history.
Starting point is 00:14:53 And some of the worst people, horrible ideas and destructive companies in the history of business. Having a genius idea without a need for it is nothing. It's like not having it at all. It's a very simple, elegant lesson. Make something people want. First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline business. The most Texas story ever. There's a lot of mavericks in that story.
Starting point is 00:15:20 We're going to have mavericks on the show. We're going to have plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad. And we'll talk about some of the classic great moments of famous business geniuses. along with some of the darker moments that often get overlooked. Like Thomas Edison and the electric chair.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Listen to business history on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey there, Dr. Jesse Mills here. I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health. And I want to tell you about my new podcast called The Mailroom. And I'm Jordan, the show's producer. And like a lot of guys, I haven't been to the doctor in many years. I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking. but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off
Starting point is 00:16:04 or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone. Well, that's true. Every week, we're breaking down the unique world of men's health, from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility and things that happen in the bedroom. You mean sleep? Yeah, something like that, Jordan. We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about. It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Self is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer. We want you to live better. So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows.
Starting point is 00:16:46 What do you get when you mix 1950s Hollywood, a Cuban musician with a dream, and one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time? You get Desi Arness, a trailblazer, a businessman, a husband, and maybe most importantly, the first Latino to break prime. time wide open. I'm Wilmer Valderrama, and yes, I grew up watching him, probably just like you and millions of others. But for me, I saw myself in his story. From plening canary cages to this night here in New York, it's a long ways. On the podcast starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama, I'll take you in a journey to Desi's life. The moments it has overlapped with mine, how he redefined American television, and what that meant for all of us
Starting point is 00:17:25 watching from the sidelines, waiting for a face like hours on screen. This is the story of how one-man spotlight lit the path for so many others and how we carry his legacy today. Listen to starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama. That's part of the MyCultura podcast network available on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. How did you guys spend your second anniversary? Where were we? I think we were at your parents' house eating chicken. Oh, yeah, we were at my parents' house.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Chicken. Yeah, because remember I gave you your gift And you had like, you were like not finished with your chicken Was it on our actual anniversary you gave me my gift? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, no, it was the day before. Classic move.
Starting point is 00:18:11 We sell. So our big trip that we took to Asia was kind of like the way we chose to celebrate our anniversary. We usually take a trip in like September, October. And that's kind of like our quote unquote anniversary celebration. the day of for us is like not as big of a deal like we don't do anything crazy but we were at my parents house so we did celebrate with them and we just had a chill night at home um joe got me a beautiful necklace as a gift this year for our anniversary so that was really nice and yeah that's kind of it i don't even really remember the exact day what we did if i'm being totally honest we were in
Starting point is 00:18:49 Toronto hanging out. Romantic. So romantic. Is it my term? Yeah. Okay, sorry. Next question is, would you ever do a vow renewal? No.
Starting point is 00:19:04 Probably not. I mean, just by the way, we celebrate our anniversaries, I think. I think that. Anniversaries and, like, holidays and stuff aren't huge for us. I feel like we do a good job throughout the year of making the most of, of like just not even celebrating, but like we're childless. Like we go on trips together. We go on lots of date nights and do fun things together.
Starting point is 00:19:28 I feel like maybe when you have kids, it's like more motivation to prioritize those moments and make them special for just the two of you. But, you know, I feel like we're doing fun special things all year around. I do. I mean, yeah, we really do. Yeah, which is just so wonderful. So when it comes down to the anniversary,
Starting point is 00:19:45 it's a lot of time we just want to like be together and hang out and chill, which is kind of fun. But for the vow renewal, I could see us doing like an anniversary party, like a 10-year anniversary party or something, just because I loved our wedding and it made so much fun with all of our friends. It would be fun to, like, throw a party.
Starting point is 00:20:01 But I don't know if I need to a vow renewal. You wouldn't do an anniversary party? No, no. No? I find that like, I don't know. Exactly. Yeah, like come celebrate us. We've been together for 10 years.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Whoopty fucking do. Like, everyone, so many people have been together. for 10 years. I don't know. Okay, maybe if we make it to like 50 years. I think 30. Oh, okay. I think 30. My parents just celebrated 30. I think 30. Yeah. I'll take this. Oh, my God. Why? Because I just know that you are, you are, you, you, you struggle a little bit with, uh, the questions. I think I'm doing a great job. I'm reading them off my phone. If you think I'm not capable of reading a question off my phone. I think you are, but I think, but I see you already jumping ahead, preparing for the question because you prepare.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Well, I'm just skimming, you know? I just want to see what's up, what's to come. But fine, I'll let you shock me if that's what you want. I do. You know, when you're stunned by the question? I actually haven't read the next question if that surprises you. Okay. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Just flipping my phone away. It feels like you guys have been to so many weddings lately. What advice do you have to anyone showing up to a wedding where they don't know many of the other guests, which hasn't really been happening to you as much lately, but me, more. This year we had four weddings, and one of them was Joe's brother's wedding, which was so much fun. It was incredible. And we obviously knew a ton of people because it was his whole family, his friend group.
Starting point is 00:21:34 And also, I had gone on our now sister-in-law's bachelor's party. We know her family. So that was great. And then it was two of my friends' weddings, who I obviously know most people there. you don't and then we went to his manager's wedding who I would say we didn't really know most people there so I feel like when you both like when you're in a couple and Joe and I both don't know a lot of people there it's almost easier well like without a doubt yeah well I mean look the best weddings are the ones where you know a lot of people yeah but like for example at his manager's wedding it was like we're just hanging out the two of us and trying to chat with people at our table and get to know people and grab a drink and it's It's way better. I actually prefer it much more when we both don't know anybody, opposed to one person doesn't know anyone and the other person knows everyone because then that's a little,
Starting point is 00:22:30 but like for the most part, all the weddings we go to, like we know someone. I mean, at your manager's wedding, I don't know if we really knew anyone. Well, we knew him and his wife. Well, yeah, that's why we're there because we love them. but yeah i feel like when you don't know anyone there it's usually a lower pressure wedding because you're probably not super super involved in the lives of the bride and groom otherwise you would like know their family like if it's a childhood best friend you're probably in the wedding party or if it's like a family member you know you are a little it's a little bit more of a high stakes
Starting point is 00:23:08 wedding so i think it's like you kind of just show up it's a party you have fun and you head out Whereas when one of us knows someone, then it's a little bit more of a balancing act of like, okay, I'm a bridesmaid, we got to set you up with a plan. But then you'll usually vibe with like one of my friends' husbands or something. Yeah, I vibe. But I love weddings. I'm over weddings. I know. I love them, though.
Starting point is 00:23:31 And we got more to come. So buckle up. Serena. Yeah. What are your do's and don'ts for wedding guest attire? Oh, okay. So. See, I knew you would like being surprised.
Starting point is 00:23:44 so it depends on what the attire is i guess if it's black tie show up in a tux and girls you need to be in a floor length gown not a floor length dress like it needs to be i think more formal but i i'm less worried about the girlies usually i think black tie is usually more to make sure the guys are dressed appropriately if i'm being honest well because black tie the difference from black tie for guys is like a casual suit versus a tux or a proper black suit, right? Well, I think, well, I think for black tie, I think guys can get away with wearing a black suit with a black tie. Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:27 But I think you still, like, if you do black tie optional, you're going to get a lot of guys and maybe like a more fun suit, whereas you're still probably going to get girls in floor length dresses. I think they should get rid of black tie completely. I like black tie. Yeah. I think it looks so nice in the photos. Yeah, I get it.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I just, I just feel like, I just feel like we're beyond that as a society. I just think you don't like black tie. You don't like dressing up. I don't, I actually, you just want to wear what you want to wear.
Starting point is 00:24:59 I actually don't mind wearing a tux, but I do want to wear what I want to wear. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So my biggest advice for dress code for a wedding is just follow what you're told. That's it. Like,
Starting point is 00:25:11 don't wear white. I don't ever want to see. white cream even like champagne gets a little risky sometimes butter yellow is showing up as white these days and photos like just don't do it there's one million other colors that you could wear why are you rolling your eyes because i just i just find that so i just i don't know like your only job when you show up to a wedding is to not wear white and to follow the dress attire that's it people make it so much more complicated oh but can i wear white g can i wear no you can't But if, okay, other colors on the table for you.
Starting point is 00:25:44 All right. If I have a cream colored sport coat on at a wedding, they're not going to confuse me for the bride. No one's going to confuse me. Different for guys. And, and if another, if a woman's there in a cream colored dress, they're not going to confuse her for them. Everyone knows who the bride is. It's not about confusion. Maybe on the bachelorette it is.
Starting point is 00:26:05 I've been on a bachelorette party where one of the girls were white and the server thought she was the bride. but at the wedding it's not about confusion everyone's going to know who the bride is because you obviously know these people and she's wearing a floor length gown with a veil it's about like respect in my opinion like this is that woman's day i have so many friends that including myself honestly that wouldn't really care someone or white to their wedding but it's not about like it's just about respect like i'm showing up to this person's wedding it's her moment it's her day she's in white i have the freedom to pick anything i want within the dress code that's not white and if someone can't do that to me it's just like it's kind of just a sign of disrespect it's like I don't care enough to go pick literally any other color in the rainbow I'm going to wear white don't you think I think that's I think that's a good point I think that's a friend that would be like oh I don't really care and it's like I get it you're not going to be offended but it's like to me that is it's disrespectful I think that's fair thank you I feel strongly about it sure what advice do both of you have to anyone out there that's single that's so hard because
Starting point is 00:27:18 everyone's situation as a single person is so different how much i think that that could be advice yeah because i actually agree with that i hate this fucking blanketed advice that people just give that just should apply to everyone everyone's different so the advice i have is kind of like figure out you and like what works for you yeah i mean like i can obviously give advice on like specific situations or to like my girlfriends who i know i know them right i know who they are i know their strengths and their weaknesses i know their dating history i could give you advice if you're single going on to bachelor in paradise totally we got you there we got you there but like to give i think that's my biggest thing i'm always i love giving like dating relationship
Starting point is 00:28:04 of advice, but I don't really believe in like blanketed statements for all single people or like blanketed statements for all married or dating people because it's like I could say something that's going to apply to some people, but there's definitely people out there that like it's not going to apply to or they think it's going to apply to them and they shouldn't take it. Like go ask your family member or your best friend or your sibling or someone that like really knows you and that you trust and respect. Those are going to be the people that give you the best advice.
Starting point is 00:28:34 If you seek their advice, find someone else. Yeah, give me the situation and give me 20 things about yourself, and then I can maybe give you advice. Someone was like, hey, this is my situation. I could think I could give some pretty good advice, but I just don't think there's one piece of advice for all single people out there that is going to be applicable. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:58 A decade ago, I was on the trail of one of the country's most elusive serial killers, But it wasn't until 2023 when he was finally caught. And I'm Hurricane Dibolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled, Do I have scurvy at 3 a.m?
Starting point is 00:29:43 On health stuff, we're talking about health in a different way. It's not only about what we can do to improve our health, but also what our health says about us and the way we're living. Like our episode where we look at diabetes. In the United States, I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic. How preventable is type 2? Extremely. Or our in-depth analysis of how incredible mangoes are.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Oh, it's hard to explain to the rest of the world that you, like, your mangoes are fine because mangoes are incredible, but like, you don't even know. You don't know. You don't know. It's going to be a fun ride. So tune in. Listen to health stuff on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Robert Smith, and this is Jacob Goldstein, and we used to host a show called Planet Money.
Starting point is 00:30:33 And now we're back making this new podcast called Business History about the best ideas and people and businesses in history. And some of the worst people, horrible ideas, and destructive companies in the history of business. Having a genius idea without a need for it is nothing. It's like not having it at all. It's a very simple, elegant lesson. Make something people want. First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline business. The most Texas story ever.
Starting point is 00:31:07 There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have mavericks on the show. We're going to have plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad. And we'll talk about some of the classic great moments of famous business geniuses, along with some of the darker moments that often get overlooked.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Like Thomas Edison and the electives chip. Listen to business history on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you Forget your podcast. What do you get when you mix 1950s Hollywood, a Cuban musician with a dream, and one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time? You get Desi Arness, a trailblazer, a businessman, a husband, and maybe, most importantly, the first Latino to break prime time wide open. I'm Wilmer Valderrama, and yes, I grew up watching him, probably just like you and millions of others. But for me, I saw myself in his story. From plenty canary cages to this night here in New York.
Starting point is 00:31:59 It's a long ways. On the podcast starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderama, I'll take you in a journey to Desi's life. The moments it has overlapped with mine, how he redefined American television, and what that meant for all of us watching from the sidelines, waiting for a face like hours on screen. This is the story of how one man's spotlight
Starting point is 00:32:18 lit the path for so many others and how we carry his legacy today. Listen to starring Desi Arnaz and Wilmer Valderrama as part of the My Cultura Podcast Network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey there, Dr. Jesse Mills here. I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health. And I want to tell you about my new podcast called The Mailroom. And I'm Jordan, the show's producer. And like a lot of guys, I haven't been to the doctor in many years.
Starting point is 00:32:46 I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone. Well, that's true. Every week, we're breaking. down the unique world of men's health, from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility and things that happen in the bedroom. You mean sleep? Yeah, something like that, Jordan.
Starting point is 00:33:09 We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about. It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Men's health is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer. We want you to live better. So check out the mailroom on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Who is your favorite couple that came out of season 10 of Paradise? I mean, I, the only one we've met together in person, actually, is Jeremy and Bailey. He met Andrew and Alex in person together. Yeah. I love Andrew and Alex. I think they're like a really good fit. I thought all the couples were really good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Are they all still together? Yeah, they're all still together. I think Dale and Kat, Andrew and Alex, and then Bailey and Jeremy. Am I missing someone? Spencer and Jess. Spencer and Jess. Yes, yes, yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Yeah, I don't, I mean, if I'm going to have a favorite, I'm going to just, I'm going to probably say Andrew because he's my friend. And I know him before he went on the show and he was at our wedding. Yeah, we'll have to go, Andrew. He was at her wedding. Okay. Do you have any Bachelor hot takes? Probably too many. I would say a Bachelor hot take would be...
Starting point is 00:34:45 I don't really care that much if they stay together after the show. Interesting. I care way more. about what happens on camera during the season and that it's like dynamic and compelling and emotional and uplifting and all the things like I care about a season that like impacts me more than if they stay together after I obviously want them to I hope they do like that's what makes it fun is when there's these long lasting couples but if I had to pick between a boring season and a long lasting couple or an incredible season and potentially no couple at the end I would
Starting point is 00:35:25 pick an incredible season i could forget the relationship yeah okay i might be i think if you received the first impression rose you need to get the first date period yeah i don't hate that either yeah i don't know if that's a hot take though i think i mean it could be it's hot enough it's hot enough um do you want to ask a question sure i could see you just like fuck you i'm asking the question well i want to look at the questions i like to i'm a visual learner so like reading and looking it's great yeah but when we're both doing it on our both looking at our phones doing it it's just it's too distracting okay um what is your next travel destination Chicago for Thanksgiving but like okay so let's take out let's take out those things that we
Starting point is 00:36:12 talk about all the time that we always have to do and we go to Chicago and Toronto we got to go to LA I'm sorry what I asked what's your next travel station. You said Chicago and then you listed the other two places we were going and you said but I'm not going to pick a different place. That's not the question. The question wasn't where are you going that you want to talk about.
Starting point is 00:36:36 It's where are you going next? I guess I'm not an active listener either. That's a problem. I guess that's I guess that's a problem in our relationship we have to work on. Neither of us answer each other's questions. Well, what I was going to say was we have credit. We have a $2,000,
Starting point is 00:36:52 $20, something, $100 credit to Hawaiian Airlines so our next trip is going to be something we book through that that's so funny because I literally was just talking about that this morning yeah um well because I just keep having to remind myself not to forget yeah my biggest fear with airline credits is always that I'm going to forget that I have them because they don't make it easy don't they don't let you like input it into your app or the website so that it's like visible and it just gets deducted you have call and book the flight with your number. They definitely do it on purpose, hoping that people will forget.
Starting point is 00:37:29 It's not super friendly. It's actually ridiculous. It is ridiculous. It's ridiculous. Like they need to make. That's a hot take. Actually, that's not a hot take. That's a, that's a consensus among all of us.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Everyone, every person for sure agrees with this statement. Yeah. Except the airlines. Because why are you making it so hard for me to redeem my airline credit? Yeah, that I paid for. Spent this money with you. Like, I had an American airline credit that I forgot about it. I don't, I think it expired.
Starting point is 00:37:56 I don't know. I just actually have to call and check. But it makes me be like, oh, I don't even want to fly American Airlines now because, you know. You've gotten taken. I feel like they stole my money, even though it was completely my fault. So neither of us really answered the question. Chicago for Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 00:38:13 We're going for four days. Our plan is to see Joe's family for Thanksgiving. We're going to go out with some of his friends Wednesday night. And I think we're going to go see Wicked 2. Because last year on Thanksgiving, we saw Wicked 1, And it was so much fun. And I'm so excited for Wicked 2. As the most successful story ever from the Bachelor franchise, what do you think it takes?
Starting point is 00:38:36 That is so generous. Well, I just made that out. Oh. What do you think it takes to make a relation work host show? I feel like the number, we say this a lot. We say this to like every couple that comes on after the show. but I think it's prioritizing your relationship, your time together for at least like the first six months right after the show, I think is like one of the most pivotal periods of time. I agree.
Starting point is 00:39:07 And I also think there is, I think people always just want to be like helpless romantics, but I do think there's an element of luck that you just fit together and like it works. like there's a little bit of luck involved in that that like and i and i think like we got lucky and like we also prioritized the relationship and we were also it was still like that it was still that like post-covid like where we like kind of had to stay in the house which made which actually helped because we weren't supposed to be out together so like there was a lot of things that just like kind of worked in our favor but yeah like what you said would be the advice I would give. Yeah. And I think being as transparent and honest as possible when you're on the show about like what your expectations are for when the show's done. Yeah. Because I think if you
Starting point is 00:40:04 don't align on those before leaving, it can result in like a lot of immediate bumps and you're already going to be facing so many challenges that like why add that to the table. You have to have like kind of like a plan. And frankly, like with all of this advice, you could still fail and it doesn't mean you did anything wrong sometimes it just doesn't work out are there any bachelor nation couples that you are surprised are still together jesus i would no skip that question um that's yeah what what what what what what a what what a question but i'm gonna answer it oh okay who um um who am i surprised are still together um um I'll tell you who I'm surprised is still single.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Who? Pilot Pete. I feel like that guy had like three final girls. Like he had like three relationships right off his season. I'm like, we got to get this guy locked down. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. It's kind of hard saying that because it's kind of rude.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Well, and you could only speak to people that you really know. So you're basically going to out someone that you're friends with. Yeah. If you have someone in mind, which I don't think. like you really do no i mean i would be surprised if gary and teresa were still together but they're not if they were still together yeah i would definitely be surprised about that if you could choose anyone from outside of bachelor nation to be the next bachelor who would you choose oh from outside of bachelor nation to be the next bachelor who would you choose oh okay so i don't know come on you got
Starting point is 00:41:49 Well, what I was going to... Arsico. Marciano. Yeah, Marciano. That's not who I choose, though. I know how I would choose. Okay, I've seen a lot of people, and I don't really know much about this person, but I've seen a lot of people online calling for Gleb from Dancing with the Stars to be the next Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:42:07 And I do think, because obviously, like, we watch The Bachelor, and I'm obsessed with the Real House or, yeah, Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. And Dancing with the Stars, I'm watching all these things. things right now, right? Like, I'm really like immersing into this little multiverse. And I think all these crossovers that are happening are really fun. So I wouldn't be mad about someone from one of these other popular Hulu shows to become the next bachelor. Well, I mean, I know Glob. I really like glove and I think he would be fantastic. But I would choose Dylan Ephron. Oh, Joe, that's a great pick too. But he's in a relationship. He's with like his high school sweetheart. All right, well, let's just pretend he's not for the sake of the game.
Starting point is 00:42:50 If he would, I think that would, that would be a really good pick. Oh, I like this next question, 18. Okay. You want me to ask it? Yeah. If you could design one date for The Bachelor, what would you choose? Literally anything that they've never done. I would.
Starting point is 00:43:10 What does that even mean? It means I'm so sick of watching the same dates on a repeat. Like, I just. Give me anything. Like literally anything that they haven't done, I would be just thrilled to watch. Like have them like, I don't know, like garden together. Like I would rather watch that than see another helicopter date. Like anything.
Starting point is 00:43:32 I would probably say like I would like to see. Literally anything they've never done is crazy. But also like now that I'm thinking about it, like they're really. really on that reuse, reduce, recycle kick with their dates. I would like to see them on. I would choose like a wine and cheese date where it was like a wine tasting date and you kind of watch both of them like get drunk. Yeah, but that's not very ABC family friendly.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Well, I mean, I'm an executive producer. So I'm the showrunner. In this scenario, Joe is the date producer, the executive producer, the showrunner, and the handler oh this is a good question um you didn't do you have like a date idea in mind at all or no i just said wine and cheese do you have one i want to do something where they have to like learn like a hard new skill like go get them and like certified in scuba diving or something like something that's like something that's going to bring out like tensions i feel like people learning to do something new that they've never done before and i see that oh we see that when
Starting point is 00:44:42 they like bungee jump and do that don't want to see them bungee jump anymore because it's too quick like maybe maybe strenuous like maybe like worse learn another language together yeah like like a spanish class if neither of them speak spanish maybe i don't know or like that would be horrible this is why we're not you know what they should do um i never watched the show it was like a little before my time but what was the show with um Paris Hilton and Nicole where they were on a farm yeah where they would make them go try different jobs in these like small towns isn't that what they would do I don't know I never saw but that's a good idea but that would be funny like every time they go to a new city they have to like try a local job like yeah like a whole day and they have
Starting point is 00:45:25 to like work that job like something that's like not romantic at all yeah like go work at the postal service yeah like go deliver mail all day yeah this is why this is why we wouldn't create a no they're like and you're fired um who is your favorite bachelor villain of all time I have to think about that for a second I mean I'm a little biased because she's from my season but I think Queen Victoria is like so iconic as a Bachelor villain and I mean maybe she's not the most
Starting point is 00:45:55 like famous Bachelor villain of all time but like she was really doing her own thing out there and I love that about her yeah I don't I'm trying to think like who is like a true villain I don't know if there's ever really a true villain You know, that's the thing
Starting point is 00:46:15 No, you know who I Who was really shaking things up Was the girl that was on Clayton season Oh, oh, oh, oh my God I can enter her so clearly She was a good villain He was good Yeah, she was really
Starting point is 00:46:33 She was doubling down Double down in all her interviews after And that is way more fun for me Than seeing them go on an apology tour yeah all right last one ready yeah oh my god this question is okay
Starting point is 00:46:48 where do you see yourself in 10 years um why are you laughing because we don't know where we're going to see yourself in five months yeah I don't know where we're going to be in five months so where do I see myself in 10 years
Starting point is 00:47:03 I mean hopefully I'm a member at a country club you've been saying that actually I guess like hopefully married still so far so good you know we're four we're four years in I think we can make another ton yeah I mean I hope I hope so
Starting point is 00:47:24 I wasn't even thinking about divorce no yeah I just need to picture myself in 10 years the only thing that I'm like certain we'll be like you'll be married still like I don't know where we'll be living or what we'll be doing yeah hopefully we're having so much fun and making good money and we're healthy and we're in love yeah i agree so sweet why do you look so uncomfortable just because i'm uncomfortable physically like the way you're sitting right yeah yeah we have a lot going on we've been on this couch for a minute
