This is an I-Heart podcast.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate.
Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the Psychology Podcast.
Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about how to be a better you.
When you think about emotion regulation, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome.
Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denials is easier. Complex problem solving.
Takes effort.

It's important that we just reassure people that they're not alone, and there is help out there.

Welcome to Season 2 of the Good Stuff.
Listen to the Good Stuff podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Welcome back, guys.
We are excited because we have another great episode for you today.
We are finally done airing Bachelor's The Greatest Seasons Ever.
And listen, while it was a good time to relive all those amazing memories and to check in with some old friends, we're kind of happy it's over.
and I'll tell you why
because this is no shade
no shade because I know what you guys are going to say
and I know what you're going to take that comment as
but hear me out here
if you're familiar with the Bachelor world
then you know when one good thing comes to an end
something new and great is right around the corner
now you know this franchise never leaves its fans
without something dare I say it
dramatic to look forward to
so if you're saying goodbye to bachelors
the greatest seasons ever
that means we're starting to count down
to the upcoming season of the Bachelorette and yes you can hear it in my voice we are freaking
excited about it because honestly I don't know how it's going to play out um yes exactly I mean you
said it best and in this franchise the end of a season it's always of course bittersweet but
you know on one hand when one journey ends another begins and so that is coming to us all
very soon and, you know, dare I say it, Chris Harrison, every year we hear it says it's going to be
the most dramatic season ever. I have a feeling that just might be the case with the upcoming
season of The Bachelorette. Now, whether you're in the Bachelor world or not, you've probably heard
all of these insane rumors going around about the upcoming season. And believe us, we're also just as
curious as you all are. And more than ever, we're just excited for this thing to start. Finally, I feel
Like, you know, it's been great to go down memory lane and recap some of the old seasons.
But there's nothing like, I don't even want to say like new fresh meat, but there's nothing like a new season to get us started, especially after this crazy year that we've been having in quarantine.
So it's going to give us something to look forward to.
And in honor of the upcoming season, we wanted to do something a little bit different and very fun leading up to the premiere.
I like that you said fresh meat.
I think that's a good term because that is what it is.
It is. It's like the new, it's like we're in high school. Let's be honest, people act like
it's high school sometimes. And we've got like the new class coming in. What are they going to
look like? How are they going to be? What are their personality is going to be like? Are we
going to like? You know what? I mean, it's just so much. And I feel like it's not just us inside
of Bastronation. It's the viewers as well. Like, who are we getting? We're all like waiting
at the edge of our seats to find out who these new characters are. Yes, I say characters
because truly that that's what it is. So on this show, we've had such a blast. We've
connecting with some Bachelorette OGs like the one and only Trista.
We've had Deanna, our girl.
So we thought, why not keep this train of powerful women chugging along, right?
So in anticipation of the new season, over the next few weeks, we will be inviting
some of the most cherished bachelorets onto the podcast to celebrate the show and to get
us pumped up for what's to come.
And I feel it, and I have a feeling that there's going to be so much to come.
But in the meantime, for today's episode, we're going to
shake things up a little bit and actually
rewind if you will
so Rachel and I are going to be playing
a fun game that we've never played before
it's going to be called whose line
is it anyways but Bachelor
Bachelorette edition and we can't wait because
both Rachel and I have invited some
surprise guests to join in on
the fun today. Yes they will
be a surprise for both of us. We'll explain it
in just a few minutes but the twist here
is that we have no idea
who the other person has invited
so I'm a little
nervous, but I trust you, Rachel. I think it's going to be
very fun. You shouldn't
trust me. Well, now this makes me really nervous.
Can I back up of this game right now?
But before
that, I think to kick it off, I mean,
because we are starting
a new season, but we are still taking this
walk down memory lane, I think it'd be fun
to go over some of like
the past contestants because obviously there's
on a Paradise filming right now.
We don't know when that's going to come.
So in honor of old guests,
If there were to be a Paradise, Rachel, who are, let's give you three.
Who are three contestants that you would want to see on the next season of Paradise?
Oh my gosh.
That's a really good question, Becca.
And I feel like so many people are booed up right now.
So many people are in relationships.
I guess in the spirit of talking about fresh meat, I should start with Peter's season.
So I'm going to name a person.
Number one, I got to go with my girl, Natasha.
Natasha is my girl.
I adore her.
We saw a lot of her, and I think America fell in love with her, but she didn't come to women tell
all, and I feel like there's a lot of depth to her, and she's so not a part of the drama.
She really is just, like, love, light, and energy.
I think she thrive on paradise.
I selfishly want to see her more, and I also want her to find love.
so I agree with that
Natasha is a good one
also going off
of Peter's season
I have to go with Tammy
because she made me laugh
like she her facial expressions
that she would do she was just so animated
she said it like it was like she
you know there was some drama between her
and some of the girls but she was entertaining
and so I would want to see Tammy on Paradise
on the big screen
I mean selfishly just like so I can
enjoy it watching it um no i'm for tammy i'm all for tammy like tammy you knew you knew she watching it
she was a shoe in a shoe in for paradise one thousand percent um okay so hannah season that was the
last season of the bachelorette so what guy would i pick from hannah season oh god oh i would
pick dustin oh yeah like i feel like people have
learned a lot more of him because of Kelly and Peter.
Right.
So there is this interest in him to fit because he's like best friends with Peter.
He was obviously there at the start of their relationship.
He was a loyal friend.
He kept it a secret.
So I just feel like he's an attractive guy.
He seems to have a really outgoing personality.
And I think that it would be, he'd be fun.
He'd be fun.
And I feel like he would be one man to take it a little bit more seriously and not just
go to like cause.
drama and entertainment but he would actually be there I think to find a partner um yeah and I mean we
had it well I shouldn't say we had him on the podcast he was a little guest on the side when we spoke
with Peter and Kelly so I um I would be all for that I'm trying to think like I just have a really
bad memory apparently because I'm trying to like rack my brain of other men on Hannah Susan
um same I'm only yeah I'm thinking of people I talk I actually talk to yeah or I'm thinking of like
people like the only one that really stands out to me too on hand of season was jpj just because he was
so loud and such a character and we obviously already saw him on paradise uh you're picking the fun people
i'm for it oh rachel i got my last person i know i know who it would be grandma honey
can you imagine i would if grandma honey was on a season of paradise i would go and i would be
like i would be whatever she needed me to be i would order her foods i would pack her bags i would
fan her on the beach i would help her pick out her swimsuit like whatever she needs i would be there
for it i'm for this now no offense to wells maybe we could promote him and give him another position
so you don't have to completely eliminate him from paradise.
But just imagine Grandma Honey sitting at that bar.
Just imagine Grandma Honey pouring you a drink
and you're getting advice as she's giving.
Can you imagine?
Wait, what about this?
Picture of this setup.
Okay, so we have the bar in Paradise.
Wells can still be the bartender.
We have Grandma Honey sitting in this nice recliner throne next to the bar
where people can go and like she'll just be drinking
but giving advice and like answering questions
and when people are having a rough time
they just go and sit with her for a little bit
I love it
can we make this happen
I if we can bring
what's her name from Winter Gangs
who flew half away across the country
yuki all the way across the country
we can get Grandma Honey
I mean I need her to have a fully
air conditioned hut though
like we need to upgrade it
like we need to give her the best
okay how do I talk Grandma Honey
you don't I guess selfishly I would just
want one of my friends to be there so I could have like a plant like a spy so I can know what's
going on in full detail and paradise that's so I mean I'm looking at my friends that are single at
this point and the only one left is Christina so I nominate Christina to go and tell me everything that
happens just figure your little spy and tell you everything I can't talk grandma honey yeah
yeah that's it done good job everyone listening let's um paradise yes I would tune in for that but she would
need to be a staple like in every season i think oh beka i love these episodes so much because it's it's
you know i feel like we have this love hate relationship with the show there's so many great things
to love about it and then of course like you know you got to take the good and the bad with things
but i love going down memory lane with these episodes because it just gives us a chance to reminisce
and to think about the good times and then also it's fun for i feel like our listeners to go back with us
as well but you know if we're going to go down memory lane that means that we have to
acknowledge not just the part that we played in our season, but we have to reminisce about all those
incredible guys that made our seasons what they were. That's the good, that's the bad and ugly.
Remember love hate, right? Got to accept the good and the bad here. And honoring some of the guys
from our seasons of the Bachelorette, Becca and I decided to invite some old friends to test
our memories in a little game that Becca and I both loved growing up called Whose Line Is It Anyways?
But we're going to do the Bachelor Nation edition of it.
So in honoring some of the guys from our season, quite an introduction, right?
I'm like, so in honoring some of the guys from our season of the Bachelorette, Becca and I,
well, we decided to invite some of our old friends to test our memories in a game, a classic game,
a game both Becca and I were fans of growing up.
Whose line is it anyways?
But we're going to do a Bachelorsetian edition.
I have to preface this with I'm a little bit nervous, just obviously because I don't know who you invited. Very interesting. But basically here's how this is going to work. So I have invited two anonymous guests from Rachel's season and vice versa. So she invited two guests from my season. Now we have no idea who the other is bringing on. But each of the guests has two prepared lines that they're going to have to recite. I'm just going to go ahead and close my eyes because I don't want to see any names pop up on my screen. But basically,
Basically, once they call in, they will recite these lines to us, and then we're going to have two chances to guess who it is based solely upon their lovely voices and, you know, our memories, our fond memories of these men.
Hopefully they're fond.
I feel like, yeah, I feel like we're going to be great at this.
I shouldn't say like I'm nervous because I feel like, and you've mentioned this too, I feel like we both get along pretty well with most of the guys.
I'm more nervous of, like, guys that were earlier on that I'm like, I sent you home night one or like the first week and I don't remember.
But hopefully that's not the case.
So, you know, I'm not very good at games in general.
So we're going to give this a shot.
And like I said, we each have a couple chances to guess it right.
So fingers crossed, Rachel.
Yeah, no, back.
I think we're going to knock this out of the park.
I'm not going to be cruel to you and invite somebody on that.
I mean like did you I wouldn't even remember you know what I mean like I think listen I wouldn't do that to you
I don't want to hear from the guys that they love so I feel like without right right they don't want to not know who they are either I mean and it's so fun for anyone so without further ado let's go ahead and get this game started and we're going to start with the guest the first guest that I brought along for Becca so I'm excited to go ahead and introduce Becca close those eyes guess number one
Please join the chat.
Are you ready?
I don't know why my heart is pounding so fast.
Okay.
So this is really cute.
Okay.
Guest number one, please recite your first line for Becca.
I forgot everything I was going to say.
What the fuck?
Oh my God.
I know who it is, but I just want you to read the second line so I can hear your voice.
Okay.
Guess number one, can you please recite your second.
bracket line for backup.
I sure could.
I know my fruits and vegetables.
I know tomatoes
really good.
Women, not so
lucky.
Did you say that?
Did you really say that the first night?
Yeah. Yes, I did
say it. In his intro package.
You are correct.
Okay, you are correct.
What's up?
I know.
Turn your camera.
turn your camera oh turn it i thought oh hi i always do it on what's up guys look at how your hair is i love it
i know it's crazy the best is i was nervous too every time i'm about to talk to becca i get
fucking nervous it's crazy you're my jeez i was secretly hoping it was going to be you and i really
wanted you to say something about melons because i think in your intro package you were talking
about melons no i said um i said tomatoes are really good
That's what I came up with.
And then my first conversation with you, I was like, yeah, you know, I sell melons.
You're like, what do you mean?
I'm like, I don't know.
I was so awkward.
I had no idea that you were like a grocery store owner.
So you were like, yeah, I just sell melons.
I'm like at a farmer's market, like outside of your home.
Where do you sell these melons?
What kind of melons?
I had so many questions.
You try.
You try to give them a chance.
You too.
And all Joe talked about was produce.
Okay.
Joe, how are you?
How have you been?
Update us
basically about what's been going on.
What's like, Rachel?
And I, what else did I say that night?
I forget.
So what's going on with me?
Is that what you're asking?
You forgot.
I did.
I forgot everything.
It was so embarrassing.
I'm still kind of nervous.
I'm nervous when I talk to you.
How weird is that?
Yeah, it's because.
I mean, like, I've seen you.
I don't know for like anyone listening.
This isn't a surprise because we posted it on Instagram, but like,
after my season was done filming,
I ran into you in Chicago.
Who were you with?
You were like with your cousin or something.
And my sister and I were walking out of like some Bloomingdale's bathroom.
And we ran into each other because you were going to paradise the next day.
Yeah,
I saw it.
It was crazy.
I'm like,
holy fuck.
That's her.
No,
it was not planned.
It was the weirdest thing.
Oh,
my sister thought it was.
No,
we were like wedding dress shopping for my sister and she really had to pee.
And so we went into Bloomingdale's.
And then out comes Joe with like, I think you had watermelon swim trunks for paradise.
Yeah, I was buying watermelon swim trunks.
Of course, the melon.
Yeah.
I still live by it.
True.
You know who you are.
Yeah.
Very hard.
I can do.
On brand.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How have you been?
I'm good.
I'm good.
I'm just living in Chicago now.
I moved out of L.A.
Um, life's good.
I mean, do what we could in this climate, right?
I mean, things are crazy.
I'm filming videos.
I'm shooting food videos.
I know. I'm jealous every time I watch those.
I love how you, like, rate the restaurants and the food, and that's my dream job in life.
I make it look really good, right?
Yeah. I mean, I would buy some of the food. You sold me.
Tomatoes are good, baby.
Joe, I know it was short-lived, but what is one of your favorite memories for my season?
I mean, yeah, that guy was fucking short-lived. You kicked me off the first night.
I mean, I don't even know. I think...
But America fell in love with you.
I would say
when I got the opportunity
to speak to you after
I just destroyed my opening
was probably the highlight
because I was like,
oh, I get a second chance.
And then I fucked that up
and it was just downhill from there.
You did not destroy it.
It was just,
it's a weird first night.
There's so many people in conversations
and it's late and it's hard to remember things.
But,
but you know what?
Head,
sent you home night one like America fell in love with you in those like few moments
and so look you went on dance with the stars on paradise all the things I mean I mean
Becca I'm okay you don't have to be encouragement now if you if you had stayed another night
it would have gone a completely different for you yeah I probably would hate it hated me
that's no no I don't mean it that way I mean like if you had gone home like the second night or
the third it wouldn't have had the same effect but you went home the first night's people
we're like, what the hell is this?
They had like a little sampling of you and wanted more.
Yeah, I know.
And you know what?
I don't think anyone's ever going to be able to do it.
They won't.
So I want to ask you, I mean, we touched on all of the cool things that you've done since the season.
But what are you up to these days?
Anything fun that we can expect to see more of you in?
Oh, yeah, this fall.
I'll be joining the Bachelor family with a new podcast.
I'm very excited about it.
Very excited.
I thought about this.
Yes.
I just were like two days ago and I was so excited
I can't I can't give too much details girls
but I have two co-hosts
none of us are like
it is a random ass crew
I think we're going to have a lot of fun
it's going to be entertaining
it's going to be sexy
it's going to be interesting
and is it co-ed
is it co-ed
I don't know if I could say that
but I wouldn't do one at all guys so
yeah it's going to be good
It's going to be good.
I heard a little bit about what's going down.
And you're going to be awesome.
I can't wait.
So congratulations.
And America, you will see and hear more of Joe very soon.
So I think the ladies are going to be ready.
You're going to hear this Chicago accent.
I mean, my voice is so obvious.
You guys have to know right away.
I thought you were going to disguise your voice.
Like that's what I guess I was waiting for.
I was like, oh, okay, he's going to disguise it.
And you came in hot.
I'm like, well, she's going to know who the hell this is.
there's no
I know
I could probably
disguise it
I can't
right now
before you go
yeah
how is you
give us
the tomato
in an
in an accent
I know
my
food
I don't know
if I could
I don't know
if I'm just
sounding
more like a child
I can only
speak like
there is no
disguise
that
that's exactly what I want
that's exactly
that's exactly
what I was
That was me at 12 years old.
That's just all I did right there.
Oh, boy.
That was fantastic.
If you only showed you out of the limo like that, I mean.
Becca, you want to say it right in.
I still want, like, another chance of going on the bachelor.
I really want to walk out of that.
Hey, be careful.
I feel like this could very, very easily happen.
Yeah, that's true.
That's true.
That's true.
You do not want to go back to that.
that mansion, living in a bunk bed on top of another man.
You don't want to do that.
You didn't get to experience that.
You don't want to do it.
Believe me.
You had the good catering back part of it.
You had like the good catering, like one and done.
It was great.
But yeah, it's a, no, don't, don't.
Yeah, okay, fair, fair.
I'll just join the public.
Yeah, figure out of better things to come for you.
You're doing great.
Okay, so we can keep talking to you, but we got to let you go.
It's so good to see you.
Love the hair.
Love the hair.
You too.
Keep it going.
Thanks.
You know what?
I was going to get it trimmed up.
I'm getting it trimmed up Wednesday, but, you know, it's a good quarantine flow.
I like it.
I could braid it.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you, guys.
And it's still on braiding it.
Yes.
All right.
Deal.
I'm in for that.
All right.
All right, guys.
Take care.
Bye.
Bye.
Bye.
I was so glad that you picked him.
I was secretly hoping Joe would be one of the guys.
Becca, I'm not here to upset you, okay?
So now are you ready for your second guest, but that was a good one?
Okay, so are you still nervous?
Or did we get our jitters out?
Did we get our jitters?
I think we got it out.
Close your eyes.
We're good.
Close your eyes just in case.
Okay, now I'm bringing on guest number two.
Guest number two, could you please join the conversation?
And guest number two, can you please recite?
your line.
There's a lot of juiced up dudes in the house
with big pipes and monster
chest. They walk like they're carrying
freaking luggage. I'm scared shitless.
You guys, I need you
to try to disguise
your voices. Did you hear me?
I know. Shit.
We should have nothing.
Yay!
It's Jason!
Yeah, they should have picked people with more
disguisable voices, I guess.
Jason, I was hoping. Okay, so
I just had Joe on before and I was hoping it was going to
be you too and what was the thing
you always used to say
the like Buffalo saying
that you would like ramp up the guys
with
oh yeah like uh
I think it was like wheels up like wheels up
there was another one where you like counted it down
and it was like
oh fuck why am I not
why am I blinking it was like the
it was like the buffalo saying it was like some guy
or some wrestler or something
everything is going well
everything is going well here
just kind of getting ready for L.A
Caitlin and I will be there for
I don't know you know
hopefully oh you'll be there for a while
we're going to be encouraging people to call
we're going to be blowing up our phones
yeah like we're all in on Caitlin
I'll tell you what there's nothing stronger
than that bachelor group you guys got the text
thread going and all supporting it's
it's going to be crazy so I
full disclosure I actually Jason we talked
a few nights ago because I was actually with
Caitlin we got the dogs together
and um yeah
so you're coming out to L.A. You're bringing
Pino correct? So the
fam's going to be on the West Coast
yeah
his first flight ever
are you going to give him some like CBD
oh yeah
we're going to see yeah I mean
he is so restless
right so we give him one or two
CD gains he'll be fine but he's excited
He does. He's like doing laps. Yeah, just like, where is everyone? Like he is, he's always restless. He needs other dogs. So I think he's been around dogs his whole life. Like when he was in foster and everything. So like when he's by himself, he's like depressed. So he missed. Jason, that's how Minow is too. I feel like every day I look at her and I'm like, oh my God, I'm such a bad mom for like bringing you all over the country. And like she needs she needs penal and ramen in her life. So get out here soon.
love it um so i asked joe this too but i selfishly have to ask what was one of your favorite moments
from my season okay let's do a one not so favorite moment and then one favorite moment i like that
i like that was a little bit all right so one not so favorite moment which is hilarious i know you'll
remember this i don't know what you're so after we yeah after we 21 guys are in the house and two of them
didn't get a date. I was one of the two. So I already walked in. I see all these monsters.
They're all freaking suds. I'm like, confidence is already dropping. Now I don't get a date.
I'm like, I am in serious trouble. Well, I watched your season back.
And then we got to meet your friends. So I'm like, oh my God, there's tea is here.
Rebecca Kendall and holy Toledo, you know, I'm excited about it.
And then you remembered Jordan's name. You remember Will's name. You remember the chicken guy,
David's name. It gets to me just straightway. I'm like, this is. I'm going to
It's because you came right after I introduced Colton and Tia was there and I was very frazzled.
It had nothing to do with anything other than the fact that I was like, oh, this guy I'm potentially dating used to date one of my friends.
But I thought you were going to say when you chipped your tooth.
Yeah, so it chipped my tooth was another one.
Did we see that?
No.
No, when we were swinging contests.
my tooth here I chipped the whole thing
so the whole rest of the night
I had to like talk out of the side of my mouth
I was like yeah back here's my family
I'm welcome to Buffalo
Jason I'm surprised you just didn't self-eliminate
there are just too many things that happened for you
I would have been like you know what this is a side
I'm out but Jason when you chipped your tooth
because it was the chicken wing eating contest
you even asked me you looked at me and smiled
and you're like do I have food in my teeth I was like no you look great
and then five minutes later you're like
Like, Becca, I had a chip tooth.
Like, you didn't even tell me, I had food to my teen.
I had a full tooth missing.
The best part was, is your reaction?
Like, no, you're doing fine.
I then go to my producer, which is Eddie.
And I'm like, dude, something is here.
I can't tell.
And he goes, oh, shit.
But you can never tell.
It was hidden very nicely.
You spoke out of the side of your mouth.
It was a good cover up.
Got to be resilient in this freaking game in the bathroom.
But I think one of my favorite moments, which I'll honestly never forget,
was when Jordan is going off.
You know, you're in the back.
It was one of our dates like week three.
I think it was that night.
And Jordan is going off seriously about his Tinder sweats and his 100% match percentage.
And I was like, this has got to be a joke.
Like someone's punking me.
This has got to be a joke.
But then I learned like, that is Jordan.
Like, Jordan is super witty, outlandish.
And he's just himself with the cameras rolling.
not that's just for gimbal
but to me he's back with littles on that
college just like this fucking guy
serious like this can't be weird
oh that yeah
I remember I was like I was trying to
do the math too for like the ratio that
he was giving us and I think I sat down with you
and I was like does this make sense like is this
possible but yeah
Jordan is Jordan and that's
what everyone asks is like oh my favorites
he's so funny and they're like oh he's just a character
I'm like but that is who he is
yeah you got to keep people
that around. Yeah, he's just endearing in that way.
Other than you going to L.A. with the family, it seems like everybody's making the West Coast
move. Jason, I'm going to be in L.A. too in like the next 10 days as well. So we'll all be
there. But what else is up with you? What do you have going on these days?
Yeah. So like one of my biggest projects I started, I think started in April. And it was
when like you look at like 20 million people were unemployed. The consumer debt rate
are out of control, $14 trillion.
Student debt rates are out of control.
And I started this company called Restart.
And it's all the lessons you just can't learn in school.
So we're doing financial consulting.
We have a membership.
I just signed a two book series with Harper Collins.
I'll be writing.
Wow.
And potentially podcast, too.
So it's all impactful stuff, which is like,
which is so critical in the world we live in today.
So it's been, we have a weekly newsletter that's coming out.
And it's been like a fashion.
amazing since when did we start
casting people like this on the show
I'm confused
I mean my gosh
I didn't sign up for this
weekly newsletter
no serious that's amazing
well
yeah so our first
weekly newsletter comes out today actually
so if you check it out it's like
what I call it's like the shit you need to know
going into this week just about like
what's going on the market
who's hiring who's firing
what's going on with COVID-19 just like
You know, no BS, just the things you've got to know going into your week.
Where can people sign up to get this newsletter?
Yeah, so if you go to restart, underscore reset, that's our Instagram page, and follow it right there.
There's a link to the newsletter.
So it's...
We're doing it right now.
You sold it.
I mean, like, legit.
You just a soul beach.
I'm like, let me go ahead before I forget and sign up right now.
We are signing up.
Jason, that's awesome.
I feel like, I mean, you've always had such a good work ethic and so much going for you that I'm not surprised.
I will say you, like, even the beginning of quarantine, you were like doing your Instagram videos of like how to save some money and how to call and like have conversations with people to like get money from subscriptions back.
And it was so useful.
And I think a lot of, even like my friends from back home that watch you and follow you took some notes from you.
And it was it was great.
So this is so good.
everyone sign up restart underscore reset that it yep okay yeah that's it awesome well jason it was so good
to catch up with you let us know when you're in l.A we'll get the dogs together um we'll of course be
cheering katelyan on when she begins her dancing you have to practice with her have you been
practicing with her when you guys were still together oh yeah we'll be practicing i mean the first
time we ever wanted a date i remember when you're dancing we drank a little bit and i was like in my
had I'm like, do I go for the dip?
Do I not go for the dip?
Went for the dip and all worked out.
So I have her trust that I can dance a little bit.
So a little ch-cha, I guess, in the residence.
So it'll be fun, a little of a good time.
But guys, thank you for having me.
And both you two, you can ask and take a name.
So it's fun to watch you guys.
Oh, thanks, Jason.
See you soon.
Oh, my God.
Rachel, that was so much fun.
I feel like you know me well.
You picked two of the guys that I just,
just love catching up with every time I see or talk to them or watch them on
Instagram it just I get so excited so that was awesome it was so good to see both of them
but now it is my turn to have my guests on for you and so Rachel close your eyes
because we're gonna bring on I was good to you I was good to you be good to me
you'll love this it's it's gonna be good so close your eyes because we have
guest number three join the chat if you will and guess
number three please recite your line never have i ever done anything this embarrassing in front of a
large group of people but it's all about the effort any guesses are they using a disguise
can i get a second line please yes let's get the second line may to go on another good date
group date it sucks because
I want a one-on-one
man this is emotional roller coaster
for your boy
definitely disguised
yeah the second one's
an emotional rollercoaster
they want a one-on-one date
that could be anyone
should we do it without the disguise
wait say the first
say the first line again
Never have I ever done anything this embarrassing in front of a large group of people.
But it's all about the effort.
Okay.
My guess is Matt?
Can we show the face?
Can I see?
Bring him on.
I was going to say Eric.
I was going to say Eric.
And I was like, this disguise is killing me.
Okay, I totally guessed it.
I was like, I was like, one of the guests is going to be Eric.
But then when I heard that, I'm like, no.
Eric never talked to me like that.
So well.
I even knew you were coming out and I was like, wait, did we have the right guy calling right now?
Eric never talked to me like that.
Hey, Eric, who are you?
I'm phenomenal.
How y'all doing?
What's going on?
Happy hour.
Rachel's see you.
I know.
It's been forever, right?
What's new?
How have you been?
I've been great.
Life is great.
Working on me, working at work, living, learning, staying grounded and gratitude.
Just present, just thankful.
Good.
I mean, like, if anybody can stay up and positive, you know what I mean?
Like, it's definitely you, Eric.
Because, I mean, I know this is rough for everybody right now, but, like, you were always
the most positive person on the season.
Like, I would be like, Eric, how are you?
And he's like, no, no, no, no, no.
like, how are you doing? How are you feeling? How? And I was like, wow, thank you for checking
on me. Nothing changed. Nothing changed. Nope. Just working. You know, I think what's most important
is that in these times of difficulty or adversity, this is what you find yourself, your true self,
your higher self, because I always say you really get to see who a person is when they hit adversity.
everyone can be good when they got money and they're doing well and they're happy and things are
going phenomenal but let something get hard and tough and challenging that's what you really get to
see from people and yourself so like I said you know my background you know my upbringing it was
challenging coming up so when things get off I'm actually on it was when things were on I was
actually off because it was new to me but now I have balance so I can kind of decipher and be myself
and figure things out and have peace about it.
Yeah.
I feel like if nothing else, that's what 2020 is teaching us.
And for those of you listening who you can't see, I mean, Rachel and I can see Eric right now.
And even just like the way that you talk in your body language, it's so exuberant and just positive.
And that's just, I feel like every time I've been around, do you just radiate that?
And it's a really cool special thing.
Also, I will say between the two of you, I have never learned more about at, how do you pronounce it?
an anagram, enagram numbers
between the two of you.
I'm going to need to call you both
after this and get all of the details
because I need to know
everything there is to know about what
my life path number eight means.
Yes. Well, the more
you know, the more you grow, you know?
That's the most important thing to figure out is
yourself. Yeah. Because then you understand your life.
Yeah. Eric, so
since we're taking a quick walk down memory lane
and we have you here, I need to ask you, what was one of your
favorite moments from Rachel's
Wow
Um
Damn
So many great moments
Uh I would say
Copenhagen
That was the one-on-one
I mean
Tovoli
I was going to say
I'm afraid of heights
Copenhagen was a bar
We was in a jacuzzi
In the middle of nowhere
Popping champagne
By the way
They didn't
They didn't record my line
When Rachel laugh
When I say
are you bilingual?
She said, no, are you?
And I was like, yep.
She's like, what do you speak?
I said, body language.
They didn't put that in the cell.
I was like, damn.
Damn.
Yeah, that was a moment, though.
I remember that moment.
Copenhagen, for sure.
Copenhagen, that was a phenomenal date.
And even like going to the amusement park, I love to be a kid again.
And then like, Eric was afraid of height.
like he said.
So, like, just to have that moment at the amusement park, it was, it was phenomenal.
I love that.
And remember, okay, Eric, remember when we got out of the car and we were about to go in
and there was some car playing Biggie?
Wasn't it Biggie?
Yes, that's right.
And we were rapping to it right before we were going on.
I just remembered that.
I swear to God, I've never even thought about that until that moment.
Yes, and we were like vibing and jamming.
That was one of my face.
Sorry, Brian.
That was one of my favorite dates.
I absolutely loved that date in Copenhagen.
And Eric had such great energy coming in.
Like, I was in a boat, and he was walking across the bridge.
And he was, like, already shouting, Rachel, you know, let's do this.
What on what?
Like, everything was just like, he was so excited because he had to wait for so long.
And I think Becca can attest to this that part of the wait is to give you guys a certain good date.
You know, like, everybody is rushing to get a good one-on-one, but you want the best one-on-one.
And since we get to choose who gets to go on what, there's something special about that.
You want to pick the right date for the right guy.
So, you know, Eric, sometimes it is worth the weight, as Rachel is saying.
Yeah, good things kind of those who wait.
Yeah.
Even, you know, it's like six dates late, but whatever.
So what have you been up to during quarantine?
Uh, and what do you have coming up?
well right now
I potentially
I might be back on TV sooner than I know
right
or cross fingers
but outside of that
Chris and I
Chris Randon and myself
over the pandemic
from probably like March
to like the beginning of May
I believe
May April March
people right
we created a book
it's called transformation
change your mindset
change your energy
change your life
and so this book
we're giving people tools
to work on themselves
every day you have something to do to transform your life from taking cold showers to writing
with your least dominant hand to singing in front of the mirror telling you love yourself so you know
people always ask Eric how do you stay positive in this book I have everything to get you to that
level of positivity and just vibration feeling good and understanding who you are at the root level
and unpacking all those issues or thoughts and emotions that you might come up and you just suppress them
because life just goes on.
So we have a book out.
I actually have an interview for that book.
We have another podcast interview in like two hours.
So you've been pushing it.
And it's been great.
Where can we find it?
Where can we find it on Amazon?
It sounds amazing.
Amazon.
You can search Eric Bigger or Chris Randall,
transformation.
We also have digital copies as well on our website.
But right now, Amazon is the place to get the physical copies.
I need to ask.
Y'all, go get it now.
Yeah.
Like transformation.
change your mindset
change your energy
change your life
and just not to add
in late fall
and then later
I have another book
coming out
called The 100 Days of Wisdom
so in this pandemic
I'll be creating products
right
because if we're losing
if I'm losing money
or opportunity
on the production side
and TV side
and I can't do things
I got to create things
for myself
so ownership
that's what I'm about
so I have a fitness
challenge that's out
as well with Vanessa Simmons
30 day fitness challenge
force fitness 30 day challenge and have two books so that's what i've been doing working on work some
people some people binge shows and movies during quarantine and some people write books and create
challenges basically transform transformation it's miracle season and miracles don't come easy
and i love that it's never stopped miracle season has never stopped uh eric i want to ask have you
and crystal in your book i'm assuming have both of you done everything
that you are putting into it like taking the cold showers writing with your left
your undominated hand yes like every day cold showers uh writing when you least dominant hand
so the funny thing is i have some clients on the side when i wanted that coach life coaching
where i've tested some of these things out so in the moment i'm coming up with things like
okay for two minutes i want you to look at a selfie video of self-talk motivation to yourself right
then another one you're going to create three minutes with the clock on three minutes and dance to your favorite song right so what this is doing is exuding and create energy within the body to get you in an ultimate state because if you wake up and you just down same with a cold showers waking you up so we are giving people things that we're done and witness ourselves but also that work I've been doing this stuff for years I mean I've been doing like cold showers um gratitude statements affirmations prayer meditation
This is what I do every morning.
It's tedious, but the outcome is the greatest because I wake up and you see it and you're like,
it's so positive motivation.
But people don't know what the work I do, two hours in the morning before I leave on now.
This is the work.
Two hours.
Yeah.
Yeah, at least.
You know, it's like between that and what's an hour.
Yeah.
Right?
What types you wake up every morning?
Well, it depends because, you know, the pandemic is different, but from 5 to 6 a.m.
I'm up.
Hmm.
See?
Yeah.
I'm getting the book, but I'm going to need you to text me every morning and be like,
get your ass out of bed, go hop in the cold shower, do this, push me out of my comfort zone.
You got too much lack to live.
What are you sleeping for?
We better wake up.
You got to go after it.
So, hey, I've come a long way.
And then I got niece to nephews that are looking up to me.
So I have to create a blueprint for them.
What are they looking at?
What are they looking forward to when they get over?
There's a book, nephew.
There's a workout plan.
Here's this, here's that.
So people go off what they see, not what they know.
So I got to create that for people following me and the family.
So legacy.
That's what it's about.
Eric, it's so good to catch up with you.
Everyone, check out his books.
Well, his one is out now and then 100 days of wisdom coming out.
When?
Like late fall, probably, yeah.
Okay.
We're going to need that, y'all.
We're going to need that in November.
Bring all the good energy into 2021.
I always go back to, like, I got to.
I got positive on right now on the TV.
I'm always going back to people hate.
People get sick of this for me.
Also, Eric, this is really random,
but I've never heard your Baltimore accent until now.
Really?
You only have, you only say it on one word.
Or I only heard it on one word.
Do you, do?
Do.
Do.
Do you.
Do you.
Don't tell nobody.
Okay.
Bye, Eric.
So good to talk to you.
See you.
Happy Monday.
Stay motivated.
And love. I'm out.
Oh, peace and love.
Bye. Bye. He's, he's fantastic. I mean, Eric was definitely, we had good guys on our season.
Eric was a good one. I was hoping it was Eric. Eric was one of my guesses. Okay. I didn't
tell you who, but Eric was one of them. I will, and I also have no poker face. So how do you
guessed before bringing him on? I would not have been able to hide it unless I was like behind
my papers here. So I'm glad I'm, but I'm glad it was it a good surprise. Yeah. No, I love,
I love talking to Eric.
You know, he really is.
And he's like even encourages Brian all the time.
Like he's always, he's just motivating everybody.
He's a great one.
He is.
All right.
So we got one more left.
We can't forget your very last guest.
Are you ready for this one, Rachel?
No.
Oh, you'll be fine.
I'm done after Eric.
I'm done.
Game over.
Okay, yeah.
So can we please bring on guest number four?
So join the chat.
and guess number four, please recite your
lines. It's going to be
a big week. She's going to
have an impact on my life that
not many people have had.
Say the second
line.
I know you have a thing for
penguins. Once penguins
I already knew it was Matt.
But
you just want to talk to me, right?
I guess you, I did want, I did want to make you say it, but I guessed you the first time.
Okay.
No, no, no.
No, no.
No, we had Eric on and he was disguising his voice and I was like, oh, it's Matt.
And then, it's Matt.
You thought, Matt's one.
He disguised it so well, though, that it didn't sound like him.
So welcome, Matt.
I just got off the phone there, so maybe he somehow trained his voice to sound like mine.
You thought I was Eric?
Well, it didn't sound like you.
It didn't sound like you.
I thought it was you, you disguising your voice.
Like, I was like, oh, that's Matt, but it was a disguise.
Not like he sounds like you.
But anyways.
Whatever you said.
I knew. I knew. I mean, I was going to be it.
Welcome, how are you?
I've been good.
I've been good. How about you guys?
We're good.
We can not.
How many episodes deep are you into the podcast now?
Oh, gosh.
60-something?
I think 60-7.
I mean, we're over a year.
Oh, okay.
Shame on me. I didn't know what was going on for that long. But you got so much going on, Ray, so I could never really keep up with you even if I tried.
I can't keep up either. I don't know what's going on either. It's got to be tough.
It's got to be exhausting. Good problems. Good problems to have for sure. So you've been doing okay during quarantine?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm good. I'm good. Everything's good. Spending a lot of time with family. My niece turned one yesterday. So that was a lot of fun.
Um, so I just been enjoying being an uncle and I'm, I'm okay with downtime.
Like, I'm, I'm kind of a homebody as it is.
So it works for me, to be honest with you.
It hasn't really helped me back too much.
I've been working out a lot.
I've been, uh, eating good.
I've been drinking pretty good.
You look good.
Oh, thank you.
I appreciate it.
You do.
So do.
Matt, where are you based?
Oh, I'm in Connecticut.
Connecticut.
Okay.
We wanted to have this episode because all of our fans, you know, we love walking down
memory lane with them. And so I need to ask you, because I've asked Eric and the other guys
says, what was one of your favorite moments that you had on Rachel's season?
So I've been reminiscing a little bit knowing that I was going to come on today. And
there were a lot of them. Trust me. I mean, I went to five countries in, you know, a matter of
what, six weeks. I think my whole process took. But I think actually my favorite moment,
just because I'm a huge basketball fan and I played basketball most of my life was back
when we were in L.A. and we ended up playing basketball while Rache and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
watched us. And that moment, yeah, that was just, that was big time. And that's kind of
when I had to pinch myself and say like, I'm just so lucky right now. You know what I mean?
this is if I you know I wish I could have like had my dad watch because at the end of
day you didn't see it but and you should I wish we had Eric on after because he could
definitely vouch for me but at race you could too but I had one of the best games I ever had on
national TV you were good you were really good no you I was on fire I was on fire and
of course like the rest of the season went down you saw me hit like one basket and that was it
But truth be told, two feet told, I think I was in double digits.
No, he did really well.
And the crazy thing about that date was Becca, they asked the guys who's played basketball.
If I knew Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was standing there, I never would be like, oh, yeah, I'm great.
So several of them were like, oh, yeah, I'm great.
I played in college.
And all of them sucked.
Yeah.
All the ones were bragging sucked.
Pretty much.
And then there's Matt, who you just seemed so sweet.
You were probably just like, oh, yeah, played a little bit.
He killed it.
And he just like school on all the men.
Yeah.
And it just came out of no.
I have no idea.
But, Matt, like, being sports fans, that was a big deal.
I remember when they told because they didn't tell me until right before y'all were coming
out, so they were like, all right, are you ready to find out who it is?
It's Kareem Abdul-Jvara, and I was like, shut up.
It's a legend.
You were like, shut up.
Everybody, go home.
I just want to hang out with Marie-Havis is huge.
Matt, how nervous were you to play in front of him?
Oh, my God.
Well, I mean, you combine that with the fact that obviously, you know,
know there were cameras um this was going to be on tv you know i don't want to get injured last
thing i want to do is like sprain an ankle here but i just wanted to hold my own i mean in my mind
there was some guys there that could play some of us actually not myself but other guys
had played in college and so you know how am i going to fit into this but i don't know it was
like it was just uh muscle memory basically all of a sudden i felt like i was in a high school gym
again and uh yeah it was definitely nerve-racking but he was he was the nicest guy too he was quiet
he didn't say a ton but he's the type of guy that when he does speak it you know he doesn't have to
say many words basically and a smart guy I can't believe they had him oh go ahead I'm sorry
no I was just going to say when I came back actually um I think a month or two after I'd
gotten back off the show I went and watched him speak because he continued on
on his promotional tour for his book.
And, man, just to hear, you know, all the different stuff that, you know,
basketball before we knew basketball.
Let's be real.
I mean, you know Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but we were after his era.
You know what I mean?
So to hear some of the history to talk about and stuff, it was just incredible.
Once in a lifetime, for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And back of that date, it was like a high and then it was a low because that's when the
ex-girlfriend came and then I was so upset oh yeah yeah yeah well I want to take it on a good
note because I was so mad and then that night it was like you know they obviously had given you
guys a pep talk about probably like make her feel better and I would say that that's the night that
you and I really connected yeah on that day like we were sitting in like some old car I don't even
And like, I remember walking away and being like, I really like him.
We just had like a super normal chill conversation.
So yeah.
That whole day was like really, really good.
Yeah, I mean, whenever anybody asked me, you know, you get all the standardized questions.
But, you know, did you, did you, you know, were you really in love?
Did you really like her?
And I said, look, we had a mutual respect from early on.
And we were, you know, very much I thought in the same place in our lives.
you know i think your sister had just gotten married at the time she was about ready to start
a family that was like the same thing i had going on back home so we just understood each other
and uh and you know it was uh i'll never i'll never forget any of it you know what i mean
and to be honest with i i i if i had any regrets it would just be that you know um i waited too
long to buy into the to the process because it's worked for so many people it's worked for you know
you and Brian and, you know, a few other friends that I, that I have from the show. So, you know,
when anyone asked me, is it real and can it work? I mean, absolutely. Just depends,
just depends how much you're willing to invest yourself, you know. So let me ask you this.
Yeah. I don't know. Are you seeing anyone currently?
No, I'm single as of, you know, I've been single for almost a year now, actually,
coming up on a year.
So if and when Paradise ever comes back,
would you consider that?
Yeah, absolutely.
I definitely would.
Now that you know,
to try and invest a little bit earlier,
you never know what could happen.
Yeah, I mean,
and what I like about the show now,
and I can say to you guys too,
because I feel like we're on the older side
of, you know,
castmates and contestants on the show.
I mean, I think,
I think, Rich,
you were the oldest until,
until they brought Claire in.
And then Becca, weren't you the second oldest
best, right?
I was, I don't know, that's a good question.
Caitlin, I think Caitlin was.
Oh, Caitlin was okay, okay.
Yeah, I was 27, 28 when I filmed.
Okay, gotcha.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, either way at this point,
it just feels like they really want to, you know,
think about going a little older
and it's going to sort of broaden the horizons for everybody.
So, I mean, I'm 35.
I never thought I would go on another show again, but now my mind is open to it because you start to see it trending a little bit older.
And I'm thinking there are going to be some older people when Paradise finally rolls around again.
So I don't think that, you know, in watching the show the couple of years that followed up my season, did I ever see myself connecting with anyone?
But now I'm not so sure about that.
I think that, you know, the possibility definitely exists.
So, yeah, I'd definitely be open to going on Paradise again.
It reminds me the story of Astrid.
And I just think that everything is about, like, it took, like, when we were on next season,
it took her a long time to open up.
Like, she just couldn't buy into it.
And she took a year off and then she came back to Paradise and then she found Kevin.
So I think that you're in a perfect place right now.
You know what I mean?
To be open for that.
So, you know, we definitely, we want to see it.
Yeah, listen, I'm in a good place and it seems like you guys are in a good place and it seems like a lot of people are single now too.
I mean, as many couples that I talked about, you know, getting together and making plans for a wedding and everything, there also seems to be like, you know, there are some single and available people out there who are part of the show.
So I think the future looks bright, bottom line.
yeah yeah come on back into this incestuous family
you know how
I never thought that I would have the stomach for it
but you know what I think I'm in
why not
all right Matt is always good to see you to catch up
to talk to you
and I'll see you soon
keep it up yeah go enjoy your niece
my niece has her first birthday in a couple of weeks
so I can't wait to celebrate it so
happy birthday sir yeah it's yours as well
go squeeze her extra tight
all right now that i finally know that i've missed out a year of this podcast um i'll start listening
a lot more and keep it up with you guys so hey you made it on to the best episode of course
absolutely hey thanks for having me guys i appreciate it thanks matt good to see you of course matt
okay thank you take care you too what a sweetheart he's so it's so i i adore matt um that wasn't my guest
My guess was that y'all were going to bring Alex on.
But I love that you brought Matt on because everybody, nobody could, when my season was airing, everyone was like, how did Matt make it so far?
Because there's always a person who makes it far who you don't see a lot of.
He was the most normal person.
That's why you didn't see him a lot.
When I tell you, like he's right, we had a mutual respect.
We had normal conversations.
There was this normal progression of our relationship.
that's why I boohooed when I sent him home.
I was like, I couldn't speak.
I was like buckled over what I had to send him home
because we just had such a connection.
He's so one of the good ones.
He is such a good guy.
I'm like, if he comes back on this season,
he better find love because he deserves it.
He wants it.
He's ready for it.
He's such a good one.
I'm so glad it was him to come on.
Yeah, I'm glad we had him too
because like he said,
He is a little bit older, but I think it's super common.
I don't want to categorize people that come on the show, but you either have the people
who have been fans kind of know what this world is about, and they think they're going
to get all these cool opportunities and product endorsements coming from it.
But then there's the people who are more skeptical, and they're like, I don't know if this
could really work, but for somebody like him who may have been a little bit more guarded and
then sure about it, but to say it actually does work if you take it at the right pace and
your own time. I think people need to hear more of that because, you know, to this day, like,
we're still questioned if it's real because people don't think that you can actually develop
feelings for somebody and to listen to him. It's like, well, he's Exhibit A. Yeah. Yeah. And I think
he started to believe in it more when he kept going farther and farther along. He probably was
like, okay, I'm about to get cut. Oh, I'm about to get cut. And as the time progressed, it was like,
oh, wait, no, she's not cutting me. She does like me. So, yeah, it happens to everyone.
But he's, ladies, he's one of the good ones.
I'm just saying, he really, really is.
So sweet, like such a calming, calming presence.
And so Brian is very close with Matt and Eric.
Like, probably those are maybe the two people he's the closest with from the season.
So I don't know if you would do this, but like while we're going down memory length.
But when I would talk to the guys, I would always ask them who they were close to.
Because it let me know their personality.
like oh who are you rooming with oh you know like what i i never said what do you think about this
person it was more of i wanted to know who your click was yeah because it told me i felt like it
told me a lot about and for brian it was it was those two yeah oh definitely and and i and i always
said like i wanted a guy who got along with the other guys like i didn't want somebody who
was so turned off against like one person or like anyone in the house and i think that's very
telling. So, yeah, well, I'm glad that Brian's close with both of those guys because I, I mean,
I've met Eric a handful of times and just adore him. But that was my first time ever talking to
Matt. So he's, yeah, we're doing our jobs well for each other, I think. All right, you guys,
today's episode was so freaking fun. I love taking a walk down memory lane and seeing some old
familiar faces and some new ones like Matt. So it's always great to catch up with our friends
from Bachelor Nation. And to be honest, I'm actually very surprised that we pulled that off because I
thought between me screwing things up and technical difficulties. I didn't think we would
quite nail it, but it seems that we did. So continue the fun with us, you guys, and make sure
to keep tuning in because, like we said earlier, we have some pretty amazing guests coming
on in the next few weeks, and we cannot wait to have our bachelor's on to help us count on to
the upcoming season. Yes, Becca, you hit the nail on the head. This was really, really a lot
of fun today. And I love surprises, quite a surprise. And I love that we both got to do it for one
another. So you guys, as Becca said, we've got our girls coming on the show, our bachelorets.
You know, we've got the group chat going, you know, so if only you guys could be a fly on the
wall and see some of the things we talk about in that chat. So maybe I don't know, they'll
seep into the podcast as we have them upcoming as guests. And if you guys have any questions that
you want us to ask some of your favorite bacheloretts, make sure you write into us on our social.
we'll be looking for them.
We'll try to give you some notice ahead of time
so we can make sure to get those questions from you.
So you guys know where to find us.
You know where to write us.
On Instagram, it's at Batch or Happy Hour.
And on Facebook and Twitter, it's at Batch Happy Hour.
And last but not least, as always,
do not forget to subscribe to our podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcast,
or wherever you guys are listening to this right now.
Bye, guys.
Take care.
Yes, and also, you guys, we're going to keep reminding you this
as we are going also you guys we're going to keep reminding you of this every single episode
because we really want to encourage you guys to rock the vote to get out there we're not trying
to sway you either way it's really just so important to vote i mean just being women you know
there was a time where we couldn't vote at all myself being a black woman it was even
four decades after the time women were allowed to vote that we were allowed to vote and it's
just our right we should exercise it we shouldn't take it
for granted. We couldn't do
as Hillary, we shouldn't do, as
Hillary Clinton said, let this be
another year of shoulda, woulda, couldas.
Let's go out there, use your
voice, take action, and make sure
that you rock the vote.
Oh, also,
the countdown is on. If you're not
registered to vote, like for, I'll just give
a personal story. For me, it took me weeks to be able
to change my license in Florida. Because of
COVID, it's very,
you have to make appointments to change your license,
and if you're moving to a new state,
it's very, very hard to get an appointment
and the deadline is coming up,
especially if you're doing absentee ballot
like I'm also doing.
You need to be requesting those now.
If you are registered to vote,
request your absentee ballots now.
It's so imperative.
And if you can't do that,
early vote.
Early vote.
Or come see me at the polls
because I'll be working them.
I love it.
Love it, love it, love it.
Okay, you guys.
And with that,
we are
Out. Rock the boat.
Oh, hold up. Isn't that against school policy?
That seems inappropriate.
Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast
and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the Psychology Podcast.
Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about how to be a better you.
When you think about emotion regulation,
you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless
you think there's a good outcome.
Avoidance is easier.
Ignoring is easier.
denials easier, complex problem solving, takes effort.
