Bad Dates with Jameela Jamil - "Did Your Family Mess You Up?" (w/ Usama Siddiquee, Rachel Wolfson, and Felicia Folkes)

Episode Date: July 6, 2026

Joel Kim Booster is joined by comedians Usama Siddiquee (Funny AF with Kevin Hart runner-up, Usama Bin Laughing), Rachel Wolfson (Jackass, Rachel Interrupted), and Felicia Folkes (Funny AF with Kevin ...Hart top-ten finalist) to unpack how their families shaped — and warped — their approach to sex, love, and dating. They swap the worst relationship advice their parents ever gave them (location-sharing paranoia, "never let your man know where you are," marry-by-23 ultimatums), debate whether waiting to sleep together actually matters, and get into how cultural upbringing colors everything from jealousy to attraction.   Send in your own listener questions by emailing us at intimacycoordinatorpod@gmail.com or leave us a voicemail at ‪(213) 379-9851‬‪. Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to another edition of Intimacy Coordinator. I'm your host, Joel Kim Booster, and I am officially certified by who, I will not say, to guide you and my guests through intimacy in all its forms. I'm talking, sucking, fucking, hand stuff, and also loving relationships. We talk about it all, and today is a very special episode. I have three amazing guests in here, and we're talking all things, family, parents, how we were raised. Did they fuck us up?
Starting point is 00:00:39 Did they model a great relationship for us? And how many people in the room have seen their father's penis? We'll get into all that and more in the episode. So buckle up and enjoy. I've got Usama Siddiqui. Oh, my God. He is a Bengali-American stand-up who grew up in, who grew up Muslim in Plano, Texas.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Must have been fun. Just came in second on Kevin Hart's Funny A.F on Netflix. And his half-hour special, Usama Bin Laughin is on YouTube. right now, it's Osama Siddiquet. Hello. Hello. Congratulations on everything, man. Thanks so much, man. You crushed that show. You really, really fucking... No, no, it was great. And sorry for
Starting point is 00:01:15 interrupting it. I thought you were doing it back and forth and you were powering through. I was powering through, but it's fine. You came in second on a very popular show so you can do whatever the fuck you want. Rachel Wilson, she's an LA-based stand-up and the first woman to join the main cast of Jackass. Yes, she licked a taser. Yes, she let a scorpion sting her, and she is here in one piece. Somehow, it's Rachel. Thank you. That was a very great chatchy BT intro. Last but certainly not least, this lady, she is an L.A. based comedian, writer, and actress, born and Raisin Inglewood.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Hello. Top 10 finalist on Kevin Hart's Funny A.F. on Netflix. Wow. You've seen her on Comedy Central and all over L.A. Maybe outside your home. It's Felicia folks, everybody. Oh my God, my favorite. I know. Not to be petty. Top eight. Not to be petty. Top eight. Yeah, top eight. No, thank you for the correction. Let's get that on red. Top six was the real. That was live.
Starting point is 00:02:10 That was live. And Rachel, what place did you place? I was in the bottom. I was a bottom. You didn't even make a pest of pyrminate to get on the show. I'm not going to lie, I did submit, but too late, they didn't even look at my tape. I literally look at it. It says still zero views.
Starting point is 00:02:24 I was late. I'm sorry. Sorry, you guys. They're lost. They're lost. Maybe next season, Rachel. Yeah, maybe next year. All right, before we jump into today's topic, we're going to,
Starting point is 00:02:34 start with one of our famous icebreakers. People can't stop talking about them. It's their favorite part of the show. People go gaga for them. But this one, today we're talking a little bit about family, and so I wanted to know from you guys, what is the most unhinged, crazy, bad advice that you have ever received from a family member
Starting point is 00:02:51 about sex, love, or dating? Who would like to go first? I got the last intro. I'll go first. Okay, boom. Well, my mom, you know, my parents fought a lot. I like to preface that. You know what I mean? but my mom always says she,
Starting point is 00:03:05 the craziest thing she ever told me, she was like, never let your man know where you are. And I remember hearing that when I was like 15, like, that's crazy. And I'm telling you, though, I do it. It makes complete sense to me. The older I get, I go, that makes complete sense.
Starting point is 00:03:20 So you're basically like microdosing gong girl on him? A little bit. He doesn't know. Like, he doesn't know. That's crazy. Do you know where he is, though? Yeah. I feel like your boyfriend doesn't really move like that.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Yeah, he does. He know what he should be. I know where he should be. You got a stationary BF vibe. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You don't got like, it's like a nice guy. House work. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:03:41 Before we continue, the really quick pull of the room, who here has their location shared with their significant other or another? No. I did at once. No. No. No. Really?
Starting point is 00:03:50 No. Never. Never. We just started doing this. Oh, I don't know. It's an interesting lesson in, like, restraint because I rarely check it. Oh, that's great. It's really checks it for me.
Starting point is 00:04:01 And, like, it's never used, like, I mostly use it just to see how close he is when he says he's on his way somewhere. See, that's exactly why I lie. That's exactly why I lie. Well, I use it the bad way. To like buy and check. Well, just to see like where.
Starting point is 00:04:16 All the time? No, I mean, like once a... Well, the way of some of these men... It's once an hour or a lot. I'm shady. It's an epidemic of men fully cheating. Yes. But having the location shared with the park.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Okay, but like my... It's not because he's cheating. I just simply want to know where he is. That's cute. That's cute. It's comforting. No, that's a little over. But we're shady.
Starting point is 00:04:36 We're straight men are shady. I'm shady. I don't give my location to any. Again, it's not even just cheating or not. A lot of white lies comprised relationships. I'm going this way. I stop here. Maybe da-da-da-da-da.
Starting point is 00:04:50 What are you? I'm sorry, if it's not sexual, then what is it? Maybe you're in a hobby-loby or something. No, I agree. And I think, you know, like, it changes in my life. I agree with that. I really feel. I'm like, what do you want to stop and get something you're supposed to eat?
Starting point is 00:05:02 Next thing you know, what you're doing here? If he needs to be someone to pick up food for me. Sure, sure, sure. Right, but he would just tell me. Also, he's going to get the food for me. Never mind. I don't know. I just realize I'm like, he's always picking up the food for me.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Obviously, if you're cheating, you're bad. But, like, I'm just saying sometimes in comics lives, our things change immediately. We're on the way. Here we go there. If you have a partner that can handle the moment to moment, then it's going to be an issue. That's my time. One time, this is not, and this was, I think, while we had locations shared, but I made the big goof.
Starting point is 00:05:32 of I was at a show and then I was taking someone home we're not monogamous, whatever. And I accidentally sent him my Uber trip and he was like, hey, and he wasn't mad but he was like, hey, why are you going to a hotel right now?
Starting point is 00:05:49 And I was like, he was like, I thought you were at a show and I was like, oh, just making a quick pit stop and he was like, okay, listen, I don't care but like if you say you're coming home, like you just come home. Right, right, right, right. Or let me know that you're making a pit stop. But I could not, what an unforced error to send him my Uber trip.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Oh my God, you guys are so mature. I want to tell you right now, I respect you. I could not. I'm so like, oh, I want to get that mature. No, I don't even know if it's a maturity thing. I think it is just like some people are built for it. Some people aren't. One is not better than the other.
Starting point is 00:06:24 I like people knowing where I am. You find the person that you match with on that level. You know, that's what it is. I like people knowing where I am because I have this fear even at 39. that I'm going to get kidnapped. And, like, I just think a few people should just know where I am at all time. I mean, honestly, this is not an unfounded fear. I don't mean to, like, sort of make it worse.
Starting point is 00:06:43 But, like, the fact that either of you ever step foot in an Uber after 10 p.m. is crazy. Honestly, though, all I have to do is start talking. And he's just breathing. Honestly, he'll end the Uber before I will. Get the fuck out. Okay. Thank you for that. Felicia.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Rachel, what is the craziest piece of advice? that your family has ever given you about sex lover dating? Just be yourself. That is crazy. That is crazy. My mom would never say that. I would never work for anyone. And honestly, it reminds me of growing up, like, in third grade,
Starting point is 00:07:17 I had a crush on a guy, and he broke my heart, and my dad sat me down, and he's like, don't worry, Rachel, you're going to have so many boyfriends. That is so nice. That's great. And he's right. I've never been married. I've only had boyfriends. And the only time I've been close to a ring is when I bought my boyfriend a ring camera.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Wow. That's what you want in life. You're not trying to. Yeah. This actually just could turn into the surveillance episode if we wanted it to. That would be great. Yeah, that's a tough piece. The tough thing for your dad to say, like, not really betting on you when he said you're going to have so many boys.
Starting point is 00:07:55 He's like, you're a hot kid, honey. Not like the one is out there for you. But, like, no, you're going to have a string. of failed relationship. Of the men, disappointing him. He was so... In my mind, it was like
Starting point is 00:08:06 your dad calling you a babe, and that was a whole different. I mean, that might have been his intent, but intent does not affect impacts. Samma, what is your piece of... Mine is, my mom was like, if you don't get married by 23, don't even bother.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Don't even bother? It's a very brown... It's a brown... It's a brown... South Asian, super old-school South Asian concept. Now, this is not... I don't think this is right either, but logistically, I sort of understand when women are told that
Starting point is 00:08:36 in certain sex or society. Sure. Because, like, women, it's misogyny. It's like women's worth is often connected to their fertility or their age or what have you. It's wrong. I'm not saying it's right. Right. But I've never heard a man be told.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I think Bengali specifically, maybe in the culture, it's known that we age quick. It's like they get the beer gut quick. They get the biryani gut. And they don't stay healthy that much. So that's one of those things. Can I say, since when are women caring about what men look like? No, no, for sure. Because there's a lot of test cases out there.
Starting point is 00:09:10 I think this is the first chance we've gotten to actually care. I think we've always cared. If you lined up all my exes, you would clearly see I don't care what they look like. Right. There's too many test cases. I do think I care. Do you know what I mean? But then I think I always have a type and men.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Exactly. It all goes back to that. I have dated men who clearly they don't care what they look like. Right, right. Yeah. That is crazy. I'm so interesting because I feel like
Starting point is 00:09:38 you as a Bengali person will age quite graceful. That's the idea, but we're talking in Bangladesh is a little different. It's a first world the third world country at the time. Now it's not the same anymore, but back in the day it was like that. It was very much. Sorry, I'm just like, you have to do it or else I'm going to kill myself. Just because you're at 23, you're just like, well, ugly now?
Starting point is 00:09:56 Well, it's like you're old and you suck. That's the concept. Like the stock. is diving. Wow. The third world country, the lifespan is like 20 to 35. You see what I'm saying? So the different...
Starting point is 00:10:08 We're not in beautiful LA right now. We laugh because we don't want to cry. Those are amazing. Mine is probably, I didn't receive a ton of advice from my parents except for save yourself for marriage, which is unequivocally, I think, one of the worst things you could tell a person. Save yourself from what? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, because...
Starting point is 00:10:30 Yeah. I just... It's a Christian concept, right? Yeah, no, it's a West, it's a particular, a Western, like, puritanical Christian, like, many other religions, I think, subscribe to this as well. But I just think, like, you gotta kick the tires,
Starting point is 00:10:43 guys. And I'm not saying you gotta be a slut, jump into bed on the first date, do whatever, but, like, that is a pretty big component of compatibility. And if you, like, get to the wedding night and you realize it ain't it, like, what are you supposed to do?
Starting point is 00:10:58 Okay, but this is my thing. I don't think you have to wait exactly, to the wedding night. No. But you gotta wait a little bit. Some of y'all be. You know what I mean? Everyone's different.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Everyone is different. You can give it. I mean, really, I'm talking about months. Y'all can give it some time. You can give it sometimes. Months before the first time. Me and my man have been together like eight years now. You haven't fucked yet.
Starting point is 00:11:15 We gave it like, I know. I know we're still holding hands and we're praying and we're thanking God for the opportunity. No, but like we're just like, it waited months. Yeah, it was like, but also we're both comedians. So it would implode our world. That context is super important because it is like when you're in the the same community, whatever that is, if your coworkers, et cetera, like, you got to take it a little bit slower because you will see that person again.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Yes. Right, but I've had jobs. I'm talking about people first date. I'm like, you about to see him tomorrow, girl. What are you going to? I mean, see, I like to approach relationships in a very lesbian way, but like I date men. You move in for us. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:52 We move in. Oh, you're the... We go to Home Depot together. Like, we're in it. Yeah. Men like that a lot, though. Oh, yeah. They like the woman grabbing the dick
Starting point is 00:12:02 and leading it to the water. Listen, we come from different communities and cultures. You don't have a strict Jamaican household who go home to and? And I will say, like, I, my husband and I hooked up the first night we met. And it was, it set the foundation because we were like, okay, this is dope. And then we sat on the beach and talked until sunrise about real shit. And it was just like, sort of like, okay, this is like sort of a 360 good match. And like, I'm glad I found that out sooner rather than later because it would have been devastating for me if I fell in love with this man.
Starting point is 00:12:35 And then I found out it just, we weren't the puzzle pieces. So on me and my ex's first date when we were, we've been together for seven years, we're still, you know, on good terms. I love him. He's the love of my life, vice versa. But we're just not together anymore. I did the equivalent of like, of like jumping in like the first time we hung out, I gave him my mental health history. I might as well have slept with them. Like you texted it to him or you all look over?
Starting point is 00:13:02 No, no, no, I just like, I was like, we sat down talking all night and I was like. And out of nowhere or was it like, was it a natural progression? No, it was a natural progression. No, by the way, like, I have to disclose legally. Yeah, I was like, how do you feel about Prozac? Are you a pro? No, but like, but that's very intimate. Yeah, this is as intimate and sleeping.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Like, you two did the same thing to me. Exactly. Exactly. But I was like, okay, I'm going to show him what I'm working with. and see if he sticks around. I mean, to be fair, I did that. We met at a club, we're dancing, and I whispered in his ear.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I'm bipolar. I'm bipolar. It was a, and again, it came, it wasn't his whole non-sequitur. But, like, I'm very, I believe in, like, being very open about it, desigmatizing it, whatever. But, like, I told him that, like,
Starting point is 00:13:48 in one of our first conversations on the dance floor. You know, the first thing that I asked him, the very first question I ever asked my husband was, so are you, are you, like, 100% white? And then he was like, yeah, sorry. And I was like, wow, Twitter's going to be so mad at me. And I was right.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Yep. It does feel like an unveiling every time you got to be like, my partner is very white. Sorry, guys. The person I'm with is full white. Boo, boo, boo now. I mean, my thing is, is like, listen, there are so many of them. And no one has figured out what to do about that yet.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Well, I often open say, like, I will take anybody else who will be as nice to me as he is. No, exactly. Because I'm very mean to him. And I'm my thing. He puts up with a lot. It's like, I'm sorry. You know how rare it is to find someone you vibe with who loves you, who, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:36 supports you that you agree with on, like, how to be partners together? And I'm just supposed to deny myself that because the optics aren't good enough for the fucking internet. Like, fuck you. Here's the issue, though. It's why is it when I fall in love? It's got to be the whitest white. Not even a Moroccan in there. You know?
Starting point is 00:14:55 My man got blue. Crystal blue. I mean, you guys have to take accountability. You guys are choosing us. You're right. We didn't ask for this. I mean, it's true. It's true.
Starting point is 00:15:05 That is true. I do want to go around and quickly check in. We know, Rachel, that you are currently separated from someone you're deeply in love with who's deeply in love with you. Whoa. Very nice guy. Isn't it romantic? A ton of sense. And you have a husband or boyfriend?
Starting point is 00:15:33 Boyfriend. Come on. Don't piss me off. You know some boyfriend. This guy. Seven years. I want a Texas guy. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I know. And he's a comic as well. Yes, he's a comic as well. Wonderful. We won't say his name because this is about you today. I know. Oh, Ben Brampton. Ben Bram, don't get me beat at home.
Starting point is 00:15:48 We're promoting you. And what about you? Come on to me on dance floor and whisper up my polar. That single. You're that single. My choice, though. Don't pretend like it's a curse. I was with someone for a little bit.
Starting point is 00:16:01 And then recently... You're on Netflix. Listen, you're a rising star and you said, my DMs are blowing up. I need to focus on those right now. I need to focus on the DMs. There's a lot of, you know, it's just, I'm single. Yeah, no, that's wonderful for you.
Starting point is 00:16:18 And what a time for you to be single. The more info I have a relief of people on podcasts, it's always like the one person that should never listen to it is the first listener. And then they're like, oh, and then they have a little homeland style, like the yarn, and they're figuring out. So I'm just, I'm just a guy in the world.
Starting point is 00:16:33 You're having fun. And I love all, and I love all. Great. Okay. You are beloved by the people. It's good. You are. It's good.
Starting point is 00:16:41 I'm sure the DMs are lit right now. Mine are lit. And so I can't imagine. Oh, yeah? Yeah. It's mostly me or you're going to Felicia. Hey, what are you doing later? It's just you guys going back and forth on each other's DMs.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I hate you. I said I voice on to Felicia that she left on red for like maybe months. I listened. Because I got kicked out the show. We need to have a real sit down talk about these voice notes, you guys. Okay. Because ultimately, if you think I'm listening to that. It was a long one.
Starting point is 00:17:09 like a minute the transcripts if the transcript is transcripting yeah and I I will absorb what it needs to be but you better be speaking clearly into that mic I am getting out my air pods to listen to whatever fucking thing you're trying to send it's true I didn't listen to it I just didn't respond yeah it was so it's seen at fuck you minutes ago right I got kicked off the show and then he sent me a voice now I don't want to hear this it wasn't the moment after it was like the wound closed a little bit it was drawing it was scabbing it was very nice though it was very I would say thank it was very nice it was
Starting point is 00:17:41 very nice but I was like I'm not listening I'm like fuck Usama but it's fine now we know a lot of us comedians were like antagonisms how we love yeah right right right the the opener you're one of my faves you know that I don't know that you guys can get around yeah you didn't text him back and tell him that yeah how would you know so today we wanted to talk a little bit about just sort of family and in general and a little bit more specifically about the models in which we learn learned how to be in relationships. So I want to go around and just as briefly as you want to be, tell us about your model growing up for love and relationships and what the general dynamic of that was.
Starting point is 00:18:23 We'll start with you, Rachel. Okay. So my parents met at work. My mom was a TV news reporter and my dad was a prosecutor in Las Vegas. Okay. And my mom, and my dad would see my mom in the court hallways and he would see her on TV and he said, I'm going to marry that woman Sunday. That's manifestation. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:45 And so they ended up getting married. And, well, my mom before they got married, she went to law school. And then when they got married, they were both lawyers and then they became criminal defense attorneys together in the same law firm. So they're a power couple. Hell yeah. And they've supported each other in their careers. Like my mom became a district court judge and then my dad ran for city council. She was like actually sustained because that's my husband.
Starting point is 00:19:13 And he was like, I object. No. And so then he ran for city council and so she supported him through that and, you know, in their careers. And so I've always went up with these role models of like, you know, and, you know, it's kind of like shitting where you eat, where you marry someone who you work with. Right. I mean, it's like...
Starting point is 00:19:35 I got to say every step of this story, I kept waiting for the turn. No, there is a turn. No, there is a turn. Oh, okay. Well, no, it comes a... M-night Shaman, post credits, we get the turn. Here's a twist.
Starting point is 00:19:48 They're together. I just think that, like, for them, for me growing up, there wasn't a lot of, like, intimacy. It was a very business kind of, like... I didn't see... There wasn't a lot of, like, displayed affection in front of me. Like they were intimate, but like in front of me and my sister, like, maybe we'll see like a kiss on the cheek or whatever.
Starting point is 00:20:10 But there just wasn't a lot of like PDA that I was exposed to. I literally saw, I've seen my mom and dad kiss one time. And it was because I was nine and I clocked this and asked my mom, why don't you ever hug and kiss? And then we were leaving, we would go on separate vacations, one with my dad and one with my mom. And they slept in separate rooms the entire. time I was very good. And I remember, so I said that to my mom, and as we were leaving on a vacation with my dad,
Starting point is 00:20:39 she turns to me and she goes, watch this. And she turns and gives the lamest, like, peck kiss on the lips. And it was like, this is actually worse. The fact that you are, like, calling this out and highlighting this lame-ass kiss, like, is making me feel worse. Joel saw that kiss and was like, I'm getting now.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Yeah, yeah, exactly. Wow. So we have sort of similar, but opposite also in a lot of ways, because it does, I think people don't realize when, like, you are not, like, openly loving to your partner and you have kids, like, you pick up on that. And it will bring us to where we are now in a lot of ways. And, you know, so for me, you know, they were very work-focused, work-oriented, and they're very logical people. And then they have a daughter who's completely emotional.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Of course. Yeah. And I come in and, you know, it's a interesting dynamic. And my sister, she's also a politician. So she's... Oh, wow. What the hell is going on to her? Like, I'm the different one.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Yeah. Yeah. You are... You are Roger Clinton. Yeah. You're off playing your saxophone. Hunter Biden. I'm happy.
Starting point is 00:21:50 To my own tune. The Tiffany Trump. Yes. Yeah. In that case, the good one. But I don't feel like, yeah, I'm going to keep my match. I'll put for the Rachel over the stuff you want. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yeah. Thank you. Fletia, what about your folks? Oh, I mean, my parents had a very poor love, you know, not jobs like this. You know what I mean? It was a very day. I think they were like definitely held together by love. Both my parents are Jamaican, like, from the island of Jamaica.
Starting point is 00:22:17 You know what I mean? So I want everyone to put that in their mind when they think about these people. And so my dad has like... What image do you want to be in our... Yeah, that's like passion. You want to leave that to us? Passion on an island. That's what I want you to do.
Starting point is 00:22:31 right now, I'm sorry. I mean, at least, I know that mine is completely respectable and a 363-dimensional character in my head. Thank you. I can only speak for me, though. I'm just saying this, like, they just had a very passionate, like, relationship. My dad, like, I don't know, because I don't want to talk about this. I don't want to do a broad sweep of, like, Jamaican people or culture,
Starting point is 00:22:52 but I feel like Caribbean people kind of understand, like, yes, it's cheating, but it's not the, it's not like the mortal. Yes, yes, but it's not like the mortal sin. all the time the way Americans treat it. You got what I'm saying? You're like... You're preachings to the right choir. Do you get what I'm saying? Where they treat it like...
Starting point is 00:23:06 Jamaican a lot of sense. You get it? And the podcast now. I don't hate you that. No, but like yeah. So like he had like... My dad's like I think like a few kids out of the way. I couldn't even count.
Starting point is 00:23:18 I gotta be honest. But like my parents were together and they're married still. And do you know what I mean? Yeah. Does she have his location? Clearly not. They would never.
Starting point is 00:23:29 But he wouldn't want her. She wouldn't get. her hit that's what I'm saying she's so she's aware of the dalliances yeah and like is she's not happy no she's not she's not unthought-white no no no no no like they will no but like does she also do she step out in that relationship no it's not she wouldn't tell us uh-huh you know what I'm saying and can correct me if I'm wrong I think culturally it would be more difficult for her to do that and openly and be like yeah and talk yeah yeah yeah yeah it would be way more fond of point that's what I'm saying my parents are very religious I
Starting point is 00:24:01 I know it seems crazy, but like it is, you know what I'm saying? Like, so there's just different rules, but like, they do respect marriage and like, like, my boyfriend couldn't be cheating on. She wouldn't think that's normal. She was like, what the hell? Who did you get this white man from that's cheating on you, bitch? Like, she would lose her. Sorry, not, can we?
Starting point is 00:24:15 Sorry, serious. But, like, yeah, like, you know what I mean? Like, she knows I don't have to follow the same rules she follow. Like, she doesn't think it's common for people to do that, but like. Right. But, you know, people are able to justify things in the context of relationships and family in a way that like it goes above and beyond. Similarly, like, the reason my parents never got divorced
Starting point is 00:24:39 is because of religion. And in their minds, it was like, it would be better for us to stay miserable in this relationship than get divorced. I kind of know what you mean. Like, they're just kind of really not even think, they're like divorce. It's not even on the table.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Not even on the table. Yeah. Like, they're like, we're married. Yeah. You're my cheating husband. You know what I mean? Like, it's not, yeah, I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Yeah. I mean, every, I know a lot of Haitian friends have, like, the family, the second family thing. Kind of thing. New York, Haiti, two families. Well, I'm not trying, no offense to them. I think we're the big family. I think we're the prime. You're the prime family.
Starting point is 00:25:13 You know, we have the degrees and we're on Netflix. Everybody else is on a spin-off. They're in, you know, in my opinion. But, yeah, you know what I mean? It's kind of like. Are you cheers? Are you afraid of? You get asked yourself.
Starting point is 00:25:26 And it's so weird because, you know, cultures do consider that thing. They're like, yes, she's the wife. There is to wait to that, even though, like, he's around. Yeah. But it does matter to him, too. Like, you're like, that's my wife. Do you know what I mean? No, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:38 And I'm like, huh? Usama, what about you? Similar in some ways, you know, no I love you's very, you know, not super Muslim, but definitely traditional. So my dad was, they both very Bengali. So that culture does not allow. Culturally Muslim. Culturally Muslim, but religiously Bengali, that makes any sense.
Starting point is 00:26:11 It does it to me I'm like wow I'm learning a lot Dude there was not a concept of a kiss in the room There was not even an idea My mom found a picture of me I took a picture of a girl once That it was on my girlfriend And she found like a black man picture of her
Starting point is 00:26:28 And she beat me with the frame of the person What was the crime exactly Just having an orientation whatsoever That's what you're gonna come out to your parents As having an orientation Yeah Brown culture back then early aughts, mid-a-tots,
Starting point is 00:26:43 2010's not sex-positive, you're not allowed to date. So all this stuff was done in suffrafuge. I didn't have my first girlfriend until college, you know. Well, and I'm sure Plano is sort of, it's like a hat and a hat in a way. Conservative. Conservative. Exactly. Very, very true.
Starting point is 00:27:00 So it's like, brown people in New York that grew up in Brown, they're more progressive, even the dads are, than dads that are brown immigrants in Texas. Because the conservative nature of the place actually seeps into whatever you're doing. So it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:15 Can I ask you a question? I would think you were very like swab, God. I'm like, what'd you learn all that kind? You know? Literally books. I like read books. I was like, I used to hate myself. I couldn't look at someone on the face.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I would cover, if I was talking to you in high school, I'd do this. I'd like cover my face. Laughing at my trauma. Sorry. Wow. Wow. Because I wish you would do it now.
Starting point is 00:27:35 You're not. Your face forward. You're obsessed with me. I love you. So it was a natural progression of I hate myself. How do I undo this? Why do you think became a comic? No, I mean, that is so my journey, too.
Starting point is 00:27:50 It wasn't until I started making jokes centered around like, oh, I'm hot and it's so difficult. Before I started believing that I was hot, and it fully reverse engineered a sense of self-confidence that I didn't have before. So I would sing in my mom's room and put on makeup every day in high school. Same. on my mold, and I thought I was so slick, and nobody knew.
Starting point is 00:28:13 I probably looked like fucking Rambo coming out, camouflaged, and, you know. But I was just like, it was my way, and one day my first girlfriend was like, we all know you put on makeup. The next day I stopped. Even me, I was like, what? Hey!
Starting point is 00:28:26 That was me with, when I would bleach my mustache. They're like, we know you have. We can see. Everyone knows. You look like fucking Sean Slattery right now. Okay, Magnum P. So, wait, nobody here walked in on their parents, like, in live, like, they just never... What?
Starting point is 00:28:45 Like, fucking... Like, nobody had, like, a household. It sounds like we all had really sort of, like, not cold, but, like... Oh, I walked in. That's what I'm waiting for it, buddy. No, I don't know. Several, that's what I'm saying, it's more than once, but I'm like, oh, God. Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:28:58 More than once? Passionate household. No, I walked in on my dad falling asleep with his wiener out. Okay, well, that's not... But that was, like, not intended. on both our sides. You know what I mean? No, but this wasn't intended on my side either.
Starting point is 00:29:10 You know, I went to go get something from my parents' room and, you know, it's like he's out there comfortably. Chill. Doing what he should be doing. And I'm... I recently did a podcast and I asked women because I was curious. I was like, who, what was the first penis you ever saw? And the amount of women that said their father.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Yeah, I think that's most women. Really? I mean, by asking not a person, like, you live in a home. In a house, you get cut off a lip in, yeah. I mean, like, not. Mom, she would make it the whole time. Like he didn't bring it out to show me, but, like, you know, when you're in a house with someone. I have never seen my God rest his soul, my late father's penis, and I never will.
Starting point is 00:29:50 You got to live. You got to live, dude. Let's go find a little. Get your mom to dry it. Yeah, I guess, this is like, this is a news to me, and it's opening up my world. Yeah, maybe it's just, yeah, like, how really close are you? For me, six inches. No, I'm just.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Which is very nice. I'm just kidding, I don't know the size, and I don't want it. The average in the US. Yeah, the average in the US. I don't want to do. So now that we have the context of how you grew up, how do you think it has played a role
Starting point is 00:30:21 in how you operate within sex and dating and love today, and we'll start over here since we started over there. Definitely the self-loathing and then the sex negativity had to be undone in terms of learning what women actually want. One thing I remember I had to do, try and do it. My dad is the way he was like loving my mom would be like shitting on her all the time
Starting point is 00:30:42 and I kind of, I didn't know I'd download that and I was hanging out one time with this girl and I was dancing with and I was kind of shitting on her dance moves. Like what is that? Haha, L.O. And then she's like, why are you doing this? Yeah. And I had to be like, oh my God, my dad is do it, is me. Yeah. Like that's
Starting point is 00:30:59 how I thought. So I definitely like learning how to lionize a woman and you know, aggrandize her a little bit as opposed to Ngging her. That's how my dad was only able to show because of the negativity of the culture, you can't just be like, you're hot, you're looking great, baddie.
Starting point is 00:31:17 So undoing that has been a journey. And now I think I'm very good at being like, you're gorgeous and you're smart and blah, blah. Oh, my God, I thought like he was directing that to me. We all thought he was talking to us directly, and I was like, oh my God. Everyone, not just beautiful, but hot. could also get it.
Starting point is 00:31:37 No, and those are two different things. And you need to know that the second part's also true, that's very important. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fletia, what about you? I think kind of an opposite way. My family, I don't know, my family, like, the men love the women, like, they love women a little too much.
Starting point is 00:31:52 You know what I mean? You live in a prostitute, like a, like, a cream? It's a very, like, women are attractive and, like, should be protect, you know what I'm, very, like, my cheesmo, you're a woman. You know what I mean? Moves and that, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:32:04 Yeah, that's what I mean? That's what it means. For that, no, like, I'm just telling you, like, okay. I'm gonna sugar spice everything nice. Yeah, yeah, that's how they feel. And, like, I kind of. I don't have either of those. And so you are, I don't know what you.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I don't know. I know. I know. Which restroom should I go to Jamaica. I'm telling you, Jamaicans will let you know. Yeah. Go to Jamaica. Your pronouns are it?
Starting point is 00:32:23 What? No, I'm just like, it just kind of shaped me because of my boyfriend. For me, I always, like, grew up kind of resenting that, especially, like, in comedy. I just didn't want to be, like, like, You know, I want to be one of the boys. Yeah, right, right. Especially when you're young grown, you're like, I want to be one of the boys.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Stop seeing me as one of these ch-you-know-what-meen kind of way. But then, like, when I got my boyfriend, we started dating and stuff, like, I'm not trying to give him any credit. But he was very nice to me, and he's very sweet. And he just kind of brought up more of, like, this kind of feminine energy, not by, like, being like, your tits and your ass. He was just like, I think you're really funny. And I think he's really smart. And I know sounds crazy, but, like, my dad doesn't say those things. No.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Do you know what I mean? About any woman, much less me. I have said this a lot. I think most people grow up imagining what it will be like to be in love and like love someone. And then until you get there, you forget and you do not realize how transformative it can be when someone to feel loved by someone. Like that never occurred to me. You know, I was always thinking of like, oh, I'm going to be so in love and devoted to this person. And never once did I think about like what it would do to me if someone like unconditionally like really loved and saw me.
Starting point is 00:33:32 And gas me up and like did all these things. and like, yeah. And my dad is like the kind of guy who would be like, he like loves me, he'll like jump in front of a car for me, but he just needs to say like, I think you're very smart. Do you know what I mean? And he would never do the- Well, what were you doing in front of that car?
Starting point is 00:33:46 Do not look both ways? Last words are, nice, good stuff. Nice, nice ass, thank God. I'm glad you're curvy. But like, my boyfriend is very like, what's going on inside my head. And I think that really shaped like what I think is like hot and what's like attractive to me and a man.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Like, if a guy, like, I like to this moment, I hate being hit on by like a stranger. I'm like, you don't know me, nigga. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? Like, I'm crazy. You don't know anything about, you know, I'm like, get the fucking away from me.
Starting point is 00:34:11 You want to be cack called like, I love your personality. Exactly. I saw you on the show. Hey, Shorty, your jokes are amazing. Ooh, you're doing it right now. Those punchlines make me wet. Exactly. That's what I like.
Starting point is 00:34:27 I'm wet, no. To hear. But yeah, but for me it's like, it just shifted everything the way I think about, the way I physically look. Not that I don't think I'm beautiful, but like my boyfriend like we don't talk about that he's mostly like talks about my mind and I appreciate and even if that's a move he's doing it's working yeah let's say for seven years yeah yeah yeah you got to be it's impressive if that is a move yeah yeah yeah so long come answer that and what about you with your
Starting point is 00:34:49 your good wife lawyer duo well I mean I there's a lot of uh things that come along with growing up in that type of family like I will say I wasn't taught emotional regulation as a kid because because again, I was the emotional one and they were the logical one. So for me, I grew up with this fantasy of like, I'm supposed to be a power couple in this relationship. And I felt like I kind of would seek validation in my relationships in the wrong places. And so for me, right now, I'm kind of just working on like finding out who I am and what I need in a relationship burst off seeing what I grew up being tolerated on both sides. I guess and and you know like not not being taught like how to look for the right person
Starting point is 00:35:41 and how to date and how to love like I was not taught that and I didn't have that love for myself growing up and that's something that I've had to do for myself as an adult not an easy task toughest thing yeah yeah like you just said tolerated and that just really spars them because I'm like exactly that's how I felt like I was like yeah they're tolerating me they're not like excited I'm here you know what I mean that's a really important point I I haven't stopped thought about thinking about it since you said it is like how to be loved, right? And how to actually be like accept it. It's very, very insane.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Yeah, to receive it is another thing too. Like, I struggle with that. Yeah, if you're not taught how to love yourself, then how are you, what kind of love are you willing to accept then? You're just going to take whatever is given. Like for a straight man, it's the first time a woman says, I want to see that YouTube clip. And then you're like, no, don't just say that. Don't just say that That's her
Starting point is 00:36:34 You're funny You really want to see this No no no That is that's getting out the U-Haul For straight male comics But I feel like it actually Now I'm thinking about you guys made me think like I feel like I've done
Starting point is 00:36:46 It's pushed me in the complete opposite Like I think I'm to it I push men away hard Like do you know what I mean I was initially like real See again again What is that? That's a real fist
Starting point is 00:36:56 Because like get away from me But like I just feel like I was very Pushing my boyfriend away initially because I was like, I don't trust. You know, I was like, man, you just, you just want my boobs in my hat. You know what I mean? Really? I really, I really, I really, I really, I really, I really, yeah, I don't play around with that
Starting point is 00:37:09 kind of stuff. Like, I don't want to be objectified. I really hate it. I think that's good, though, because boundaries are healthy, and that's one thing I didn't learn from my family and growing up is, as boundaries is a form of love, you know? Yeah. And he's always respected, yeah. And I, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Do we all, just, like, yes or no, do you think your parents did a good job? all things considered at the end of the day, raising you. Now that I'm on Netflix or... Let's go pre-netflix. Pre-netflix, okay, okay. I would say, I would genuinely say yes. Again, they were both in the car
Starting point is 00:37:46 and my mom was doing a lot of the steering. I'm gonna say, you know what I mean? But they were both in the car, and but my mom, she did a good job. I think she did a really good job. My dad was there. I'm not saying he wasn't. I get that, I get that.
Starting point is 00:37:57 But my personality and a lot of my morals and stuff and my mom was, you know, my dad was outside. You know what I mean? My mom was in the house. I mean, ultimately, we all ended up here where we are. Exactly. So we couldn't have been, you know, but. I think my parents raised me very well. As much as you can, I think, you know.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Sexually, I think I had to do a lot of work to figure out what the fuck, to even get to a place where I like sexuality and I'm cool with that in my own body and all that stuff. But sexuality is not just, it's platonic and sexual. I think after I got there to self-love,
Starting point is 00:38:32 then all of a sudden those lessons came back. How do you treat your girlfriend when you're not fucking? How do you treat your girlfriend when you're... And then they came back. So maybe the idea of how to hit on a woman wasn't given to me. But then after she likes you, then my mom's... Okay, how do you treat them? Oh, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:38:47 Oh, okay. Yeah. You see what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's almost like a little whole... She sort of like... She was putting you in, like, calculus, and you needed to start at, like, pre-algebra.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Exactly. So it's more like I didn't... The first... things I need to learn that like I had to learn on my own. The prerex too getting to being able to love someone else. Boom. Yeah. And that took a little extra time.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I think maybe New York was the reason I got there. Because New York, you go there and like there's so much stimuli, human tissue that you have to like learn. Sorry. You've learned a lot. I was learning a lot of human tissue. Tissues. So you have to learn human shit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:25 Yeah. LA, you can kind of be in your car. Yep. And avoid the men. And avoid the people. New York, you're in the mix. You're in the mix. You are touching the men.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Shoulder to shoulder every single day. What about you? I think there's a dialect for me in that question. Because for me, it's like I do feel like I was emotionally neglected growing up in a lot of ways. And they were, you know, there for me financially. However, and also I think that... What? And also, I think with that being said,
Starting point is 00:40:01 I think my parents did the best they could. Like, I have, they did what, I was the first born. What did they know? You're an eldest? Yeah, they don't see that coming. I didn't know what they're. They don't know. Younger daughter.
Starting point is 00:40:13 I couldn't even imagine having a child, the first child. And like having a career, a full-time career. Like my mom and dad worked the whole time. It sounds like, and correct me if I'm wrong, though, it sounds like they are programmed and were really good at providing for you in like sort of tangible ways, but didn't necessarily know how to provide for you and a lot of the emotional ones.
Starting point is 00:40:36 And I don't love them any less because of that. Yeah, no, same. I think all of us can sit here and say, we love our parents, despite all of them. Yeah, my parents are probably gonna do worse things to me and I'm still gonna love, you know what I mean? Like, it's just the beginning. I've made them into a character.
Starting point is 00:40:50 They don't want to have any, yes, yes, yes. No, my revenge is making you the center of my comedy central half hour. So, congrats on that. Before we move on, I just want to ask, like, are any of you planning on having kids someday? Maybe. I have a cat. I'm hoping.
Starting point is 00:41:21 What is one thing? I know that we talked about a lot of many things that our parents fucked us over with, but what is the one major thing that you would do differently from what your parents did if you were raised a kid? Sex positivity. Yeah. How do you do that in a way? Like, when do you start that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:41 You're right. I don't know. Then it'd be too sex positive. I'm like, whoa, whoa. Just, it was like never talked about. It was not sex, the concept, maybe just the idea of like dating and like, hey, you like that person, maybe go talk to them
Starting point is 00:41:54 or have a little bit more like, you know, light conversations about it. That was never explained to me, ever. Any sort of romanticism or anything. I would make sure my kid has a little bit more to work with. Awesome. I feel like for me, honestly, if I had a boy, I have no idea. Like, I'm not joking.
Starting point is 00:42:13 I'm like, I don't know what to tell this thing. I don't even want to. I'm just being honest, I don't know what to tell you, bro. But if I had a daughter, I feel like I'd focus really more on just explaining that, like, she is beautiful no matter what. Not just tits and ass.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, exactly. And, like, I know it sounds really crazy, but also I'm a black woman and blah, blah, blah. And I've taken a lot of years for me to think of myself as a beautiful person. Yeah, you know what I mean? You have to literally, it's baked into Western culture. You have to deprogram so much.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Day by day, hour by hour, be like, you know, you're pretty, you're passing the period. You look good, you know what I mean? So it's like, I think I'd have to, I wish I got a little bit more of that early on. Like, I learned that my mom didn't like a lot about herself. Do you know what I mean? And that project onto me,
Starting point is 00:42:53 because I look just like her. Where were you raised? Englewood, California. Inglewood, California, okay. Knew it. I wonder if part of that is like, because she's from Jamaica, I wonder if she didn't understand
Starting point is 00:43:06 that you needed that kind of positive reinforcement now that you were here. She still don't even get that. I need that right now. Right now she's like, you know what? Show your arms like that? I'm like, it's fine. My arms are fine.
Starting point is 00:43:16 You know what I mean? But I just had to unpack years of things that now I understand that she has a lot of work. Poor, poor thing. But you know what I mean? Because also like she grew up like dark skin and Jamaica. That's a whole other thing. There's colorism.
Starting point is 00:43:28 There's all kind of things. So I would just say like, you're beautiful. You're beautiful. Yeah, yeah. But if I had a son, I'd be like, I don't know, boy. I mean, you're cute. Yeah. He probably won't need.
Starting point is 00:43:36 He'll be fine. He's a light skin boy. He'll be fine. His dad's Jewish, his mom's Jamaican, he'll be fine. Jamaican. He won the genetic lottery. He'll be Jamaican. He'll be too.
Starting point is 00:43:44 He's chosen and he's going to have incredible bone structure. He'll be fine. Rachel, what about you? I think for me, if I was a parent, I would, well, emotional regulation. I would teach my child that. I would teach confident, or at least guide them to be more confident, confident, whatever that means, pursuing their passions, and also just like reminding them that their worth isn't tied to their career or that, like, you know, it's, you can be a good
Starting point is 00:44:19 person and that's really all matters. Yeah, that's born. That's so nice. That's really nice. Yeah, I think, I think mine is just, I would want, I want, I really want my kids to see and feel how much I love my husband. Like I like we are very like tactile couples like when we're home alone or whatever and I don't want that to stop just because my kids are here. I mean we're not like making out over the jeans stuff before. But like as someone who grew up not seeing that, like it did I think stunt me in a lot of ways that I had to like figure out before I was ready for this relationship and I just want my kids to know that like we really love each other. Like I want those little motherfuckers to know that if the house is on fire,
Starting point is 00:45:03 his ass is getting saved first. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, I know what you mean. Y'all can make another one of them. You know what I mean? But I really feel that way. How much investment have we put into the child already? It's okay. Before we wrap up, we do have a piece of listener mail.
Starting point is 00:45:21 So I'm excited to read that. We can, someone who really needs our help. And I think after this 45 minutes or so that we've chatted, we are all extremely qualified. of them. Hi, Joel. I'm 31, and I've been around the block a few times. I've had two great loves, and they didn't work out,
Starting point is 00:45:39 but I've done a lot of work, and it's been years. It feels as though, being in the dating field the last few years, I keep having stretches where men act loving and domestic-coded for weeks to months. Then they say they want something more casual and start acting distant. I just ended things this week with someone I'd only been dating for two months, someone who asked me out at the gym. He put in so much effort early on. we had chemistry, the same sense of humor, similar values.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Then he got distant. When I asked him about it, he confirmed he wanted something casual despite having acted like he wanted something long term. Here's the thing. I'm in a genuinely good place. I love my job as a teacher, my creative passions, and my fitness. I'm a weightlifter. I feel great about my body.
Starting point is 00:46:15 I've also been sober for seven months. I'm happy on my own. I just don't like feeling tricked. Any advice for giving dating or finding a long-term partner who will watch dropout TV with me another chance. This is from Danny. This is the thing I'm going to say, and I think this is true maybe 90% of the time.
Starting point is 00:46:35 When someone who you've been dating suddenly says, I want something casual after seeming all in, they don't want something casual. They don't want to be with you. They don't want to be serious with you. That's the thing. And it's their weasily, like, cowardly way of just breaking up with you in not knowing how to be.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Here's the thing. I think, I agree with you completely. I think you don't know everything about a person in the first two weeks. Sometimes month three, you find out something, you go, wait a second, this is no longer going to work for me. Now, it's not a good thing. You should be always open and be like, this is what I'm feeling. But I think I've been with people who are like month four, I'm like, wait, oh, God, this is not going to work out. It literally is if you're seeing the same person over and over again in the same sorts of context,
Starting point is 00:47:24 and then suddenly you go on a trip for the first time. And you see them in an airport. And you see how they act in an airport. And suddenly you're like... And that's one for. And that's like... Oh, no. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:47:34 So that definitely can happen. But it is also like, don't say you're not looking for something casual because that person will see you on Instagram engaged in nine months. You know? And it's like, they will figure it out. So, like, I think this is the thing for Danny.
Starting point is 00:47:50 How old is Danny? Danny's 31. 31. 31 and she has a good job, creative, like, hobbies. Oh, she? And fitness. Yes, yes. It seemed, I don't know why it seemed like a gay guy.
Starting point is 00:48:00 I thought it was like a gay man. It was the weightlifter. The weight lifter and the writing styles. Yeah, yeah. They've been sober for seven months. Like, it seems like they are in the best position in their life to be alone for a minute. That's what I'm about to say.
Starting point is 00:48:14 I was like, why are you even looking for, man? It's literally, if you build it, they will come. And that is what you've done. You've built this incredible life. Maybe you have a full life. Like, you're fit, you're young, you're happy, you're healthy, girl, please, please stop looking for it.
Starting point is 00:48:29 The dicks around. Wait, does she want something more serious? She wants something serious, yeah. Yeah, but she doesn't actually. I think she won't. I really feel that. I feel like these people, they always say, like, I feel like, I don't know, my girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Now I'm bringing my girlfriends into this. Because I feel like they're always saying, like, oh, I want something serious with this guy, but I'm like, you don't even know this guy. You don't barely like this guy. It's four months in. Oh, so you're saying she just wants something serious. Serious.
Starting point is 00:48:53 She's not thinking, like, I want something serious with this guy. Or any guy. They're never even picking a guy. They're always just like, I'm ready for this serious thing at this time. And I'm like, and that puts a lot of pressure on the situation
Starting point is 00:49:04 because it takes away from, let's just have fun and get to know each other because all good relationships start is like friendships and like getting, without the pressure of like romance. Right. You know, in marriage. I don't think she's wrong or that she's doing that.
Starting point is 00:49:15 But if you are, then maybe look within. Are you pushing this concept? You're like, I'm ready now for this thing. Yeah, I'm ready now. I've done the work on myself. And so I should, why isn't it? I think it's more like, I think it's more she needs to recognize that she's arrived at this place and this is a place that is good to be at. Right. And then you just got to enjoy.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Enjoy the place. And then someone who's at that same place will come into your place. Because quite honestly, she is at step two or three where people who normally ask this kind of question are because she's doing so many things to focus on herself already. But I think she just needs to live in that space and enjoy that space. Exactly. for a little bit longer. I think she just, like, kind of, also, I have a lot of friends who do this thing to put it on their, like, relationship resume. Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:50:01 We're like, look, look what I have. I'm this, and I do this, and I wait a lift. And he's probably like, okay. You know what I mean? No, and if it's not a vibe, it's not a vibe. What that got to do with me? You know what I mean? You're just looking at this person as a checklist, you know?
Starting point is 00:50:13 It's like, do they check the boxes, but, like, no one's just a box. Dating is so a gray area. I'm like, Danny, you could do all that, you can not do all that, and probably find a gray guy. Do you know what I mean? Like all these things don't qualify. Guys are there. We're definitely all there.
Starting point is 00:50:27 You know what I'm saying? Just keep going. Put yourself out there. Put yourself out there. I mean, you have so many hobbies going on. Like, you have creative passions. I'm sure there's someone around in that world. Fitness.
Starting point is 00:50:37 You're at the gym. You've been sober for seven months. A.A., you know, like. I'll say that she sounds hot. She sounds hot. She sounds hot. Yoked. And I'm right here.
Starting point is 00:50:46 Like, with it mentally, it seems like she's got to go down. Why is she sober seven months? Wait a minute. Hold on. What was she like seven months ago? You know what? I'm going to guess. I'm going to guess that she's put a lot of focus on fitness in this letter.
Starting point is 00:51:02 I'm guessing it's not an addiction issue. I'm guessing it is literally for gains. I literally think it's not. I could be wrong. Danny right if I'm completely wrong. Watched Danny was like, she has like 3DUI. She's like, I'm ready for a husband. I need it.
Starting point is 00:51:19 She's shaking. I say delete the apps. Continue to focus on the incredible full life that you already have And when it's so cliche And you cannot trick the universe I've said this a million times But when you are not looking for it, truly it comes That is when you will be open enough to find them
Starting point is 00:51:37 And do not try to say to the universe I'm not looking I'm not looking I swear I'm not looking It won't work It's the most annoying thing but it is true Yeah no everyone hates to hear it But unfortunately that's how it happens Keep getting the games If you have a question or a piece of
Starting point is 00:51:52 advice that you would like to ask our esteemed panel of guests. Please email into busy coordinator pod at gmail.com. I think we just said a pretty bang up job. Starting point is 00:52:35 to the table today. On a lighter note, before we leave, I like to, you know, final question, sort of, it can be anything. What is something that you have seen in the last week that is making you believe in love this week? And it could be something you saw on TV It could see something you saw in real life
Starting point is 00:52:55 Something you experienced That one kid was on the scooter And he's like shirtless And he walks, gets on the scooter He's like, you better not touch my grandma Remember this? It's going viral right And this kid He thinks he's gonna, this guy's here for no reason
Starting point is 00:53:09 And he's like, you watch, who are you? Why are you here? Attacked my grandma, the guy's like, I'm just here to do pest control And he's like, all right, you better watch out But it's like this little southern kid I don't know super sweet Like, no, I mean this.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Riding up, putting your life in danger for grandma is a, he's a kid, and he's like, scooters up. He's like, who the hell are you, buddy? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to sell you a punch of the gut is what he says. You sell, I don't know what you're selling, but I'm going to sell you a punch of the gut. Yeah. And I'm like, this guy, ten toes down for grandma. He loves his grandma.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Shirtless, nothing. Damn. He's like a, when you start a game, he has no armor. We'll be snapped in half. And he, that is for grandma. That is really nice. That is beautiful. Felicia or.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Oh, God. You, you first. I don't. Yeah, I feel like I've been having kind of the opposite experience because I've been watching a lot of date line. Oh, wow. So, like, it's like there's been a lot of things that make me believe that there's not... Marriage ends in murder every time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:04 And if it does, I'll watch it. Yeah, yeah. Film this, babe. Yeah. Yeah, there's really not a lot of date lines with happy endings, huh? Yeah. Depends on, yeah. Yeah, it depends on what perspective you're looking at it from.
Starting point is 00:54:18 They got away. And so they're happy. I watched a guy hold the door for his wife, and I was like, wow, love isn't dead. It was just sleeping. Yeah. That is true. The bar is on the floor.
Starting point is 00:54:35 I'm not trying to be away. But I'm like, the only thing that made me believe, my boyfriend was really nice to me this week. And he really didn't have to be. Oh, really? And I really put him through it. Oh, what? I just got a lot of opinions,
Starting point is 00:54:48 and I make them known first thing in the morning. Loudly. You know what I mean? I don't know. You're annoying. I got to see Usama today. He's getting his own personal breakfast club. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Every morning. Every single morning he makes up. And Angela Lee. Right first thing. You know what I mean? It's only Charlemagne. Four times. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:06 No Angie. I'm not playing around. You know what I mean? And every time he's so nice to me. Oh my God. And I'll freak out and he just gets me, you know what I'm like, he makes me believe. I relate to this so much because the spinouts that, my husband is witness and the way
Starting point is 00:55:20 he knows, like, even if he doesn't agree, he will wait until the spinout is over to give me the no. Because he knows, like, in the moment, that's not going to work. Right, right. And he knows, like, he's like, yeah, this is, she's wilding right now. But he lets me wild and he just observes. And he handles, he's just handles it so well.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Sweetie part, yeah. I really love it. Because he knows we'll run out of steam eventually. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, she can't break everything. You know what I mean? Yeah. That is amazing. You guys, I had so much fun recording this episode. Thank you so much for coming on. I am a big fan of all three of you. Usama, where can the people find you?
Starting point is 00:55:52 What are you doing these days? At Usama stands up on IG. I'll be on tour for the rest of the year forever. Just come see me on tour. Great. Amazing. And I'm assuming they can find your dates on your Instagram. Yeah, on my Instagram. On your Instagram.
Starting point is 00:56:04 And check out Funny AF on Netflix. Sorry for spoiling the placements here. It's still a wild ride to watch. And, of course, his half hour special on YouTube, Usama Been Laughing. Check that out as well. Rachel Wolfson, Can the people find you?
Starting point is 00:56:19 What are you doing these guys? They can find me at Rachel Wolfson on Instagram. I'm in the new Jackass movie coming out. Jackass Best and Last. Oh, my God, that's so cool. I'm the girl. And then I just, I have like a bunch of really cool exciting things coming up. I have my podcast, Rachel interrupted, that I just relaunched again.
Starting point is 00:56:41 So just stay tuned. Yeah, check out that Instagram as well. And Felicia? Yeah, same thing's hitting the road. Everyone on the show is in the road There doesn't seem to be enough people to go to how to match how many people are touring right now I don't know, no, no, no, it's like everybody's on the road
Starting point is 00:57:01 I'm like, guys. Post Malone is canceling his tour because he can't sell tickets, but yet we all are like, we're on the road. We're good. How many is in right now, man? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know, man. I wouldn't spend 65 bucks to see me right now in this economy.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Like, that's crazy. I know. I have been telling people like, I mean like, if you come, I guarantee laughs. It's worth the money. Please come. I don't pretend that like, this is easy money, though, because I do know it's kind of crazy time. So I'm like, come out and we will do it.
Starting point is 00:57:28 We will have fun. But I'm on the road. Check me out. Felt Fetal. Amazing. Check them all out on the road or wherever they said that you could find them. We here at Intimistic Coordinator, love all three of these people. Thank you so much for listening.
