Badlands Media - OnlyLands Ep. 72: A CBP Hardware Hack, Camps Debate & an Ed Markey Ad Gaffe
Episode Date: September 12, 2026The crew dives into a genuinely wild story about a green card holder who worked his way into a Customs and Border Protection job at a major crossing, only to get arrested for allegedly swapping out go...vernment hardware for compromised parts. That kicks off a broader, sometimes contentious debate about immigration enforcement, detention camps, and a recent court decision limiting how long ICE can hold detainees without a warrant. On the lighter side, there's a genuinely funny catch: a Massachusetts senate campaign ad that appears to lift its closing line almost word for word from a Scorsese movie, seemingly without anyone on the campaign noticing. The back half turns to courtroom drama with reactions to the Lindsay Clancy verdict and some pointed questions about jury composition. Sponsor breaks, tangents, and the usual banter round things out.

The Badlands, one of the Badlands, explain those Badlands.
That's a hell of a name.
Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the Onlylands.
Oh, look at you, Matt.
We have an inversion going on here.
Wait a second.
I've been watching Dark Matter.
Matt, what's the safe word?
That might be a reference nobody else gets.
Okay, well, I'll explain it later.
But I just want to say, I just want to say that every time I,
watch that intro i feel like we're walking into our own personal cheers every yeah totally okay so perfect
yeah yeah or or perhaps even more appropriate it's always sunny in philadelphia this is our patty's pub
right it is a great vibe yeah yeah a lot more appropriate with patty's pub rather than true
but even just the whole aesthetic of it it's like badlanders are something that cannot be described and yet
everybody knows. And it's like that's the kind of place where you would just find Badlanders.
Yeah. Yeah. And Vee, I see you're wearing your gaming headset tonight? Yes.
Well, you're going to happen to your real mic at home desk in Mumbai. I've been using a ghetto
Mike for a long time. And the like jack, the power jack to it has been sketchy for two years.
And tonight it just isn't picking up every time I put it in. The red light comes
on my Yeti and then it just doesn't pick it up on stream yard. So I cannot hear myself in my
headphones, which is very strange. Oh, it's disconcerting, right? Because it's like everything is
muffled and you don't, you can't modulate the volume of your own voice. Do you, uh, do you have
feedback coming into your headset when you're talking? I mean, I have my own voice coming into my
headset. Yeah, I don't. Yeah. You can accomplish that to that focus, right? You just have to download
like the desktop software and figure out okay that's so gay though like you like i i started off
with a focus right and and i quickly moved beyond it because there is uh superior technology if i
can just counsel you after the show b well i will i will literally free though so yeah yeah he
just gave it to me okay all right i just was like this looks like something i don't know what to do
with and usually my modus operandi is to to then just leave it and man i'm
now I have a delay. Does anybody else have a delay?
Well, I think that maybe your voice is also coming through your computer speakers because I'm hearing.
Oh, yeah, I hear it too.
Yeah, there's definitely something else happening there.
That was not happening last time.
It wasn't happening.
Is this somebody else? This might be somebody else.
Is it?
Well, you know, Matt's not wearing headphones.
Matt just muted himself and now it's not happening.
So yes, Matt.
Okay.
Okay. So now for the dark matter reference. All right. So this show on Apple TV, it's called Dark Matter. And I talked about this last week, but I'm just going to spoil the shit out of it tonight. If you haven't seen this show, hopefully this is going to make you want to see the show. Okay. So there's this guy, Jason Desson. All right. He is a physics professor at a community college in Chicago. And at one point, he was very brilliant. When he was young and he was doing his, uh, his, his, uh, he is a physics professor at a community college in Chicago. And at one point, he was very brilliant. And he was doing his, uh, his,
doctorate, people thought that he was going to be like, I don't know, the next Steinstein or somebody
that's, you know, actually competent with science in modern day. Just like make that equivalent.
And Jill Biden.
Dr. Joe, okay, he was going to be the next Dr. Jill. He's cogent. I mean, you know.
And he meets, he meets the woman of his dreams, uh, Daniela, okay. Um, they get together and
she basically wants him to devote himself.
to the wife and the family.
She wants to have kids.
And like his work, his research is taking him away from the personal life too much.
And she's like, you know, Jason, I don't think that I can do this.
And I need you to choose between the two of us because he was going to go off and do some like Elon Musk stuff.
And he was like, you know what?
A family matters more to me than my scientific career.
And he was like, I can just teach and I'll just be a mediocre, you know, physics schlub in modern day.
right and so that's what he does and he and daniela have twins uh max and charlie max tragically dies
at some point during their lives when their kids or something it kind of wrecks the family they're
psychologically damaged as a result it's modern day he's teaching and uh he's kind of fed up because
it's obvious the kids in the in school they don't really care about what he's saying he's
explaining Schrodinger's cat to them, you know, the cat is both alive and dead and, you know,
and much like the Iran straight.
Exactly.
Right.
That's one of the reasons why it appealed to me so much.
I was like, this is like my life right now.
Anyways, so he, uh, he goes out with a friend of his that was kind of like his lesser
in the doctoral program.
But because Jason left and went to go to the family stuff, this guy continued the research
that they were working on.
And he ended up perfecting it and creating some miracle new technology.
And he's like, you know, listen, Jason, I want to give you an opportunity to live the life that you wanted to live back then, but you can't live right now.
And so I want you to come in and join my company.
He's a multimillionaire.
He's just won an award.
Everybody loves him.
He's kind of an asshole.
But he's like, I'm not smart enough to take this to the next level.
I need you, Jason Desson, Doctor of Physics.
And so Jason's like, you know what?
I'll talk to Daniela tonight.
And he was like, great, I'll move you guys out to California, put you on salary immediately.
We'll be partners and we'll make this press conference at a big announcement.
So Jason is kind of like on cloud nine.
He's like, oh, my God, is it really going to happen?
Am I finally going to reach my full potential?
He's walking back to his house.
He's like a block away from the bar kind of wasted.
And somebody comes up behind him and head butts him with a revolver.
okay just like pistol whips him knocks him out jason wakes up in the basement of this derelict building
and he's like oh my god what's happening and then the next thing you know the masked man is injecting him
with some type of a mind-altering drug and he's like uh-oh you know and just like it's not not
that's how he got autism yes has some mess you'll ever stay away from so then he he he
you kind of pan around the room and you see that there's this large
black box almost like a square monolith okay and it's got these strange panels on it and
soon room with the music and clearly it's something that you're supposed to be paying attention to
and the guy with a mask on he says you know i'm basically apologizes to him and and then he takes
it's like a doctor's mask or is like a scary mask it's like a scary mask okay it's meant to just
hide his identity it's not a faggy covid mask or anything like that and yeah it's not an n95 he
takes Jason and he puts him inside the box and then he closes the door and then Jason like passes out.
What's in the box? Well, I'm about to tell you. Shranger. Shrondger's cat is in the box and Jason is Shrodinger's
cat. He opens the door. He opens the door and he comes out and the box is not in the derelict building.
It's in a laboratory and there is a team of scientists waiting for him. They see him and they're like,
Dr. Des and yes, and they're all clapping and they're like, tell us what happened.
Tell us what you saw.
You've been gone for so long.
And he's like, what the hell is going on?
But he starts seeing people that he actually knows from his life in Chicago.
Oh.
And so again, he is Schrodinger's cat.
This box has created some type of quantum temporal displacement, allowing whoever enters
it after having taken this drug to go to an alternate reality.
Okay.
So you have this like quantum entanglement with other versions of yourself.
And he has essentially traded places with the other Dr. Jason Desson who didn't get the girl.
I don't hate this premise.
No, it's so good.
It's so good.
Okay.
So the Jason of this universe did the thing.
Okay.
Like he built the technology.
He spent his life not having the girl.
Okay.
And he's jealous.
He's like once he realized what he did, he's like, I can go and have.
that life. He's like, I've already done this. I know what I can accomplish. Now I want to go
be with Daniela. So he trades places with the Jason Desson of the say prime universe. Okay.
But I missed the fact that the guy in the mask is Jason Desson. I didn't explain, I didn't
reveal that until just now. Okay. The guy in the mask when I said he traded places.
That was just an easy. It was an easy thing. Okay. I mean, I figured it out pretty quickly personally.
But, but yes. I don't think this is going to end well though. Oh, no. It is. It does not end well
at all. It is very, very bad.
Just a feeling. I don't know.
I'm only telling you the first episode, okay?
And so, so anyways, he...
And then the second.
Yeah, no, no.
Just, I'll just suffice to say it doesn't,
it doesn't end well for either Jason Desson, okay?
And they just started the second season.
It's been two years.
And so I've been waiting for this.
And I didn't even know if they were actually going to do one
because, you know, I mean,
not many people watch Apple TV,
but like, they've done some really,
really good high concept sci-fi.
And so I really appreciate it.
And it's not,
not especially woke every now and then.
There's like, you know,
let's go to a universe without racists
or something gay like that.
But, you know.
I love the busted physicist thing.
I know a lot of guys like that in the 90s.
When I went into graduate school,
I would say it was the last flush of a really optimistic time
in the history of physics when people actually did think this,
we're going to crack the secrets of,
the fundamental laws.
I think by the time I left at the end of the 90s,
people were really disillusioned about it.
Just totally deflated.
And they couldn't find it.
Nobody could find work.
And that was because of the H-1B visa that is now so controversial.
It was actually invented in 1991.
And it was specifically to keep American physicists from taking jobs.
It was to give jobs to the foreign.
They needed jobs for the foreigners that they were coming over after the
piece dividend, you know, from the, well, the, the scientists, so they, oh, we're going to invent special
visas for them. And they, and then it's just, so I was early roadkill in that, as were a lot of
guys. The only people I knew who got jobs, faculty positions were had much darker skin than me.
Right. Or different, different genitals than me. And ironically, different generals. And ironically enough,
they were all scamming their credentials, right? This is why physics has not moved forward. It's because
all of the H-1B physics replacements they came over had completely faked their credentials.
So they don't actually know anything about the science.
All right.
You guys are getting closer and closer to what needs to be done.
But I'll let you, you know, you can lead a horse to water.
You can't make it committed genocide.
Well, there are, there are major, major changes happening specifically in the visa system,
not just H-1B, but like E4, L1, you know, the opt-a-stem, every single one of them.
They have just published a new rule.
It's preparatory before it actually becomes finalized, but getting rid of the 60-day grace period.
So like if you lose your job, you've got 60 days as of right now to find another sponsor to move to a different corporate position.
Now, if you are H-1B and you lose your visa, you immediately have to go home and begin the process all over again.
If you are currently H-1B or any of these other visas and you want to transfer to a new position, there's now a new $4,000 fee.
And that $4,000 fee is ostensibly for USCIS to investigate the company that you're going to.
And so basically the company is paying for themselves to be investigated.
So they know that that will have.
I think it's found out where $4,000 out of the $5,000 dividend is coming down.
Very easily could be that.
But here's the thing.
If the company is fraudulent, they are not.
going to want to be on the radar of USCIS at all. And so they're not going to be willing to pay that money.
And anyways, across the board, this is, I have a whole segment every day about the changing
landscape of immigration enforcement. I fucking love it. I'm so excited about it. Yes.
Zach, I'm a simple man. All I need is to know that there's camps. And, you know, we can get to the
other stuff later. You know, the camps can be here. The camps can be there. The camps can be anywhere.
This is the thing.
You look at the side of the plane. You will see the hardest camp.
This is what we call the Pagit camp or they can shit anywhere they please.
My take on this is why would we, why would we waste federal dollars building camps here in the United States?
Right.
When we can just put them on a plane back to their home country.
Just go.
Did you see that?
You know the price of gas right now, Zach?
Let's pump the brakes on that.
There's a lot of land here.
It's a lot cheaper than building a brand new internment camp.
Nobody's farming in Arizona.
Operational costs of internment camp are not.
insignificant. No. And this is also kind of, you know, this is prescient in light of the decision
that just came down for ICE to no longer be able to hold detainees indefinitely without some
kind of a warrant. They actually mentioned Japanese internment camps and like at, what, 1869,
like the Geary Act or something like that when they went after Chinese migrant laborers.
I love the Japs, but. Yeah, but not the Chinese. We're not talking about. They had to be taken down a few pegs.
and they learned their lesson, right?
They've been very submissive ever since.
They were real tigers back in the day.
They were. Hell, yeah, they were.
They were up and they're like, we make walk.
In World War II for the Japanese.
Of course.
They were shifty.
Right now, there should be, there should be Chinese intern.
Never should have been in those camps.
No, no, no.
The Japanese are fine.
Beebe is right.
You know, I mean, like, we put them in their place.
United States is on top.
I'm talking about Chinese.
Did you guys hear about the, the,
Chinese student who came here and then got a green card and then started working for customs and border protection at a border crossing on the main Canada border.
Over the course of his employment there, he worked first at the university and then transferred to another government position and then got a job at CBP, I think.
And he was just arrested and charged because he was clandestinely going into the USCIS computer systems and trading out.
for equivalent compromised Chinese parts that he had smuggled in.
And so just imagine what kind of damage could have been done during the time.
He was there for like the last two or to four years, I believe.
And that's just the one we know about.
That's just the one we know about.
Exactly.
So how many other foreigners?
And then there was the Nigerian that was taking money under the table to just give people
the pass and allow them into the country, give him status.
He had a buddy that was working at another federal agency.
I like your line of thinking, Zach.
I'm in Arcadia, California, where our mayor was just, just pled guilty to being a CCP.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
And, you know, it's like 95% Chinese here.
And this is also the home of San Anita Racetrack, which was an internment camp back in World War II for the Japanese.
So I say we just replaced them with the Chinese people here that are all here from, you know, representing the CCP.
It's just right here in our neighborhood.
It's already, infrastructure is already.
already there. It's just a matter. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I got it. Canley statue there in Arcadia.
You know, I don't know if that's still there. Yeah, I know where that is. You're going to take it down.
I'm sure it's probably been replaced with like Chairman Mao or something now. You know,
Trump loves McKinley. Yeah. He does. Do we listen? You also love Xi Jinping. Right.
I just had a brilliant idea. Brilliant idea. Everybody is wondering about how the California high speed rail system
is going to be completed.
The Chinese are good at building railways.
That's right.
That's right.
How many China men do we got here in the U.S. right now?
So there's your forced labor.
I like it.
I like it.
This is a win-win for Gavin, too, right?
So much heat for spending like...
Chinese labor are far overblown in the building.
The people will tell you that the entire rail system of the West was built by Chinese.
Exactly, Matt.
They're too little.
They're little and weak.
They're frail.
They're too frail for that.
we have Mexicans. They're like sturdy Asians. But they can't be trusted drinking.
The Mexicans. A Mexican will betray your right to your face. The Chinese will betray
you right to your face. The Chinese are more shifty about it. They think in generations.
So like their grandson will betray you, but the Mexican will immediately.
Your enemy is your enemy and you got to fight them. I am the China stand.
badlands so i but i'm also racist so you know it's strange being that sovereign alliance guy because
but you don't discriminate in your racism which i think is exactly exactly that's a good old
boston bringing it yeah i don't even like italians and they're like not even a race
i've been watching westies do have you heard of that one bb what is it westies no no it's
it's it's on uh mgm or something like that but it's about the rise of the irish mafia
in the 1970s in New York when John Gotti and his boss, Paul Costellano, they are trying to build
the some center in New York, the Javits Center. That's what it is, the Javitt Center. And it was,
it was chosen to be placed on Irish land. Okay. And so the Irish for the first time are controlling
the unions and the tradesmen and all that. We still do, motherfucker.
Yes. And this was the downfall of the Italian mafia. They had to start working with the Irish.
And then the Irish, you know, they had to stomach working with those greasy Italians.
The Irish, like, won everything they set out to do in the U.S., like emphatically without question.
And it's so funny, there was a campaign in Massachusetts recently that I didn't really pay any attention to,
but I saw the advertisements come across my YouTube's with my geolocation.
Ed Markey ran, and I think one.
for Senator again, allegedly.
But I was cracking up
watching these campaign ads
because it was like, Ed Markey,
Elizabeth Warren,
the squad girl with the bald head.
Oh, yeah.
A lot.
A lot of famous.
Ina Pressman.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like the least notable of the squad.
She was in it,
I think Bernie Sanders,
but each of them are in like an abandoned Dorchester brick building
and like walking toward the camera being like,
Ed Markey knows how to.
to fight for you, except at the end of the commercial, Ed Markey goes, nobody gives it to you.
You got to take it.
And like, that was the campaign slogan.
But anybody in chat who can remember how many times I've used that line in various shows
over the years, because that line is directly from the departed, the intro voiceover for
the departed, where Jack Nicholson's character is talking about.
what he hates about black people.
And he says, he literally says in the opening of that,
so I literally think this was like an AI,
like an intern of Edmarky, probably like a campaign volunteer,
just had AI write a commercial.
And he says this line at the end of it,
and nobody knew that it was just ripped from the departed.
But the context of the line, which is also true,
is he's talking about busing in Boston, you know, in the 70s.
and he's like, yeah, I got nothing again.
I only got one thing against the black jappies, and it's this.
Nobody gives it to you, you got to take it.
And, you know, obviously the departed is all about like the Irish mob in Boston.
But like that was a thing with the Irish mob who chased the blacks out of their neighborhoods.
And they were just like, listen, like, we totally respect coming into a new land and like taking everything.
But like you have to actually become really good, smart.
criminals and take everything, you can't just like complain about stuff and have it be given to you.
So I just thought it was hilarious that the Democratic senator of Massachusetts ran his campaign
on a racist Jack Costello line from the departed.
It's beautiful.
Speaking of advertisements, we are going to get to our first sponsor.
And that's Rumble Wallet.
We hear a lot about crypto, but here's the part that most people miss.
crypto was created so you can actually own and control your own money. After the 2008 financial crisis,
Bitcoin was designed as an alternative to banks. So instead of a bank holding your money,
delaying transfers, or limiting access, you're in control. And if you've ever had to wait for a
transfer to clear, you've felt that problem. Now, fast forward to today, everyone's heard of
crypto, but getting started still feels complicated. That's why I use Rumble Wallet. And I think
most of the people on here also use Rumble Wallet. It takes all of that complexity and makes it simple.
Choose what you want, Bitcoin, dollar back stable coins or even digital gold backed by real gold.
No complicated setup. It connects with MoonPay so you can use your credit card, debit card, or bank,
and be up and running in minutes. Once you're set up, you can even support your favorite Rumble creators
like us here on the Onlylands directly. So do this now. Scan the QR code or click the link in the description
and download Rumble Wallet.
There you can set up your wallet, tap by,
and you're in the game in just a few minutes.
You can go from hearing about crypto
to actually owning some.
And thanks to the Rumble Wallet guys
for sponsoring this show.
Great way to support us with rants through Rumble Wallet.
We do appreciate it,
and we'll read the rants throughout,
if they're relevant to the topic,
or at the end, if they're not.
We are also sponsored this evening by Badlands Health.

My middle son loves that stuff, the YerbaMate that's in there.
Oh, yeah.
He's a huge fan of it.
And yeah.
I was just telling the chat, I have all of those symptoms
based on my neck issues over the last two weeks.
So Jay is going to freeze me.
The statute of Hibati was moving.
to Canton, Ohio.
Is he from Canton, Ohio?
I think so.
So in a way, Arcadia, California, graciously built a statue of McKinley many decades ago and has now presented it as a gift to the good sense.
How nice of them.
Yes.
I can only...
Thank you.
I can only wonder what was what he was replaced with.
I'll have to investigate tomorrow.
Back in the day, California was like...
I'll catch a rickshaw and go around my town and see if I can find it.
it. What's that? Black woman in the blue dress that they put up in Traffler Square.
I didn't see what that was. I saw like little glimpses of it. I love it. I love, I love ugly woke
art. It's going to be such a great cringe-inducing thing. I made an edit of that with the-
I know exactly who these people were. I made an edit of that with the audio from Ace Bigelow when he's
walking around with that gigantic woman and somebody's like, that's a big bitch. Do you mean Deuce Bigelow?
Oh, yeah, Deuce Bigelow. Or Ace Ventura. I was like, Ace Vigolo. I was like, Ace Bigelow.
I got my culture crossed over.
Ace Ventura is so good.
I would watch that crossover film.
Yeah, I was like, that is a great idea.
We can make that happen.
I think it was relatively early into my run on DPA.
John was like, do you have an outro video?
And I played the clip of Ace Ventura slowly emerging from the rhinos ass.
And then I thought about like, man, I watched this on Loop when I was a small child.
I absolutely loved Ace Ventura.
I have no regrets, by the way, for loving Ace Ventura.
Yeah, the first one is all about him like bagging a tranny at the end.
And yeah, the second, I think it was the second one where he's coming out of the rhino.
Although I will say the cannibal tribe in that movie terrified me when I was a kid.
Even though it was a comedy, they were like very scary.
With all the guano, there was the bat droppings.
I'm going to do that on only on a story hour.
If we had a line on bat drawings, we could corner the market on fertilizer.
Yeah.
I get bats in my backyard.
I throw pebbles up to them.
But then I feel bad about it because they get so mad.
Have you ever done that?
No.
Oh, dude.
Do you guys have bats around?
I've seen them occasionally out here.
I actually have a bat box that I installed that back.
Well, when you go out at Twilight and you see them swooping around, if you take like a pebble, it's crazy, you flick it up.
And because of their sonar, they will all dip toward it in the yard.
So you can kind of get them going in like patterns because they immediately lock onto it.
And then what's fun is if you get one that you like coat with like radar deflecting paint, then they just run into it.
They just start smashing into each other.
I don't think they eat the pebble.
I think they're smart enough to know.
like, that's a, that's a pebble, because it usually falls back to the grass.
Otherwise, I'd feel mad.
Well, I think that they pretty much immediately realized that it's not the mosquito they were
hoping it was going to be.
They get mad.
They're like, that dick.
He did it again.
He said, not this time.
Ah!
It is cool, though.
It's one of those, uh, on a, on a, on a, on a, a, a sweet moment, uh, rare sweet moment for me.
Uh, I remember my dad showing me.
how to get bats
to come into the clearing
in the park. And now I'm out there
in the summer with my son
showing him how to toss pebbles into
the air.
That's the one thing
that I got out of dead.
My father
wasn't drunk.
Father beat the shit out of me every day, but you know
what I deserved it.
I think we're getting more information about
your focus on the dark night.
too. There's a
underlying.
Zach, you know, when you were telling the
premise of dark matter
and describing the
room that he went into, the first
thing that popped into my mind was
McMonicle
and the
way he described the place where the
remote viewing happened at that
like, I forget the name of it,
but the place where they
do all that stuff he talked about going into
a black cube in order to... The Farsite
Institute?
Yeah, yeah, that's the one.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's pretty interesting.
Oh, Farsight.
Farsight.
It's a great, great cartoon.
I thought it was just an institute full of great cartoons.
So we need to hear about the facial hair of Jay,
and we need to hear about the new pathway to state benefits for John Drake
and what the plans are for both of you regarding each of those things.
Jay's more dangerous, so you go first.
I will definitely go first.
We talked about this on the exclusive live stream earlier.
That was for Gart ticket holders.
Yeah, so went to Hawaii last weekend, decided to let it grow out a little bit, got sick on the plane ride home.
And sick, but like a cold.
I caught it from like the millions of screaming kids that were on the plane.
And so I've been staying away from Madam Margie's watchful eye because I,
don't want to get her sick she's 87 that wouldn't be a good thing so you want her to see the
so oh so we're telling us this way as if i'm not seeing her i can take advantage of it and perhaps
let this thing grow out till gart and um show up with a so you're probably too contagious to see her
before you leave for las vegas is what you're saying perhaps yeah yeah for her safe we're going to try
if now if the itchiness continues you'll have to do guys with the longer beer beer beer
need to tell me i do have beard oil i'm working it and it seems to help but uh you never gotten
past this stage because it's always freaking itchy and it drives me nuts and it's also like 100
degrees out here and it's very warm on my face now so uh but yeah a few people in the chat were like
commenting about my mustache it there really is a rest of the beard here it's just like white so it doesn't
show up but uh they make hair does it grow in nice and thick like yeah oh yeah jay you got kind of a
Magnum P.I. look to you.
You know, I mean, like, you really
should grow a mustache, bro. I feel like
he's the guy that the Miami
vice detectives have to turn
their badge into.
Right? He's like,
Listen, chief. God damn it, I don't want to
do this, Jack.
I am that guy. I'm at that stage
right now. I don't know what it's going to look like.
Think about protocol.
You got to vote, John.
Maybe when I
shave the beard, I'll leave the mustache. We'll see what I
look like that. But yeah. Or you could just not shave the beard. That's cool. Well, Ash, we'll see,
you know, we'll see the kind of reception I get it. If it's ridicule and people throwing tomatoes
at me on stage. I have the feeling that the Margie meme will strike again. That's, I don't think
that's going to happen, Jay. You know, just I think that all of the men here can attest to the fact
that women dig an unshaved man. Okay. Especially in our community. I've noticed. Right, right. So
although it does make you look huge when you shame
yeah
oh you meant like
it's it's terrible
you just on that one there
oh my god
I feel like
the tini's a chime out
I mean
that was probably the lewdest thing
I've ever heard Burning Bright
I know
I appreciate it though that was pretty good
okay but Jay I just want to
confirm you're sure it was a kid on an airplane and it wasn't one of the hot wives in
Hawaii?
She's, God, those days are over.
Those days are over, so yeah.
Yeah, no, no, no, no, it was definitely, definitely just screaming child next to me.
Those toxic adjustments ain't cheap.
No.
No.
Oh, my God.
So Burning Bright, we're gonna, we're gonna fix your neck in Las Vegas and
Yep.
Toxic adjustment too?
That's it.
Out there.
Yeah, I'm used to having a lot of issues, but this one, usually it's like at the end of a fight or I'm like, oh, I can trace these things back.
But this is just like, oh, this just started happening.
Oh, I'm old now and shit hurt.
To getting older where you went up and you assess like, what's going to hurt?
Mrs. Wright thinks, 20 years ago.
Yeah, Mrs. Bright thinks she's like heard everything from my background in that, in that world.
And then the other day, she's like, are you really, she's like, are you dizzy right now?
Because I was, like, stumbling around the kitchen and I wasn't drinking.
It was, you know, just a normal day.
And I'm like, oh, yeah, yeah, I like can't see straight.
And she's like, is that what's been happening in the last two weeks?
You literally, like, can't walk straight?
And they're like, yeah, I told you I was dizzy.
She's like, I thought you meant like, you know, a little bit dizzy.
I'm like, no, like, I'm having real issues.
It's a big problem.
But I was like, you know, I do remember when I was going to all those doctors in my early
20s looking for the source of the pain that eventually was addressed by the surgeries I did get,
they were like, your neck is in really rough shape.
And at some point, it's going to cause you problems.
So I'm guessing that this might be that point.
There's a lot of nerves.
They go right through there and doesn't take much pressure on them.
Oh, yeah, I asked Grock because it started with like my heart kind of hurt.
And I was like, ah, hmm.
I don't like that.
But then my ring finger and my pinky I lost feeling in.
So I was like, I'm having a heart attack.
I know I've seen movies.
That's got to be what's going on here.
And but then I was like, yeah, my neck hurts.
And Grock was like, well, your C8 is right there.
And so I've been digging through trying to find like 2011 medical documents from all the imaging I had done.
and they're like, severe stenosis, C5, C6, C7, C8,
which is all the, you know, you get popped,
and you get a little bit of ricochet back there.
So I don't know why it showed up now, but it is what it is.
So it wasn't anything like bodybuilder Rich Pianas last day on Earth?
I hope not, man, but like, you know, this was my cry for help, I guess.
This is never happening before, anything like that.
Nothing's bad, babe.
He's like, I'm okay, I'm okay.
He does not look okay.
No, he doesn't look okay.
But, you know, long story short, he ended up dying later that day, not long after this.
But just the description.
I think it was probably a lifelong abuse of steroids and performance enhancing drugs.
No.
Combined, well, combined with plenty of opiate consumption.
That was all part of it.
Steroids, that guy, no.
Yeah, yeah.
Rich Piano was that guy's name.
Crazy story, crazy story.
But yeah, the C4, that makes a lot of sense, BV.
A lot more sense than you having a heart attack.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, and I was reading, that's the only time I was freaking.
I'm very used to nerve pain in my life, unfortunately,
but the only time I've ever free,
most of my nerve pain has always been my right side.
And then when I got it on the left,
it manifested as in my chest.
So I was just like, ah.
And then down the arm.
Yeah.
When that happens and then you look it up and you see that you're like, I'm dying.
Yeah, it's like symptoms are a heart attack and or anxiety attack, which doesn't help your anxiety.
Right.
And now, I don't know for sure.
I'm not having that.
But there is enough other things adding up like my neck has been bothering me a lot.
I've got constant pain in my neck right now.
I've got numbness down the back of my arm, none of which is like that's all related to the nerve root.
Are you picking up Baby Bright on one side or the other?
Yes.
And it is usually that side.
And he lays on my neck on that side.
I thought of that today because I picked because it hurts today a lot.
So I picked him up and he like laid down and he's heavier than he used to be.
So I'm like, I bet, you know, it's all the getting hit in the head thousands of times.
But I think that that's, I'm like, what is?
new what's the new thing I haven't fought in 10 years so yeah what you should do is
get a kettlebell okay when you're holding on to baby bright with one arm you just
have a kettlebell in the other arm so that it balances out and you've got
effectively the same amount of weight on either side mm-hmm or just switch sides if
the baby is sleeping I already got all the surgeries on this side that's why we're
using that is hold its hands together really tight and then you do a clean and
jerk yeah i'm i'm i'm missing uh that scar right there i'm missing my rib on this side my peck minor
is detached from my uh shoulder blade uh what else uh you had thoracic outlet syndrome on my scalenes
my scalenes are removed here so i don't have the neck muscles here so they could go in that way
god uh and i have uh three anchors in this shoulder that worked great the other stuff was really brutal
but the anchors are great because I didn't realize they were like yeah you're we've never seen a
shoulder capsule that was so separated when like the doctor after the surgery he showed me and mrs bright was
there this was 22 the last time i got a surgery i think and he showed me the pictures and he was like
do you see what's in this picture and i was like i don't see anything he was like exactly this is the
only patient we've ever had where the imaging like they set you
set, you know, the quadrant of the imaging.
He's like, the ball of your shoulder joint is so far away from your shoulder joint
that the imaging didn't catch the edge of the ball of your shoulder.
So he's like, that's why you're going to have a bit of pain over the next few weeks
because we tightened that shit back up and it's been loose for 10 years.
But that did work.
That worked beautifully.
Oh, good stuff, man.
When they put something like that back together, how do they ensure that,
that the capsule is going to re-adhere to that bone.
Is there like some sort of biological glue that they squirt in there,
or is it just being jammed back into where it's supposed to be?
It reattaches.
No, they basically, the way mine was is, you know, you can think of,
you've got the, obviously, the clavicle comes out here.
You've got the shoulder is basically, here's the clavicle,
and you've got the shoulder.
Right.
You can rotate almost, I think it's like almost 360 to 70 or something like that.
And you've got two major ligaments that go around like this, that anchor it.
And then you've got the capsule that looks like a jellyfish that holds onto it like this.
So in my shoulder, one of the ligaments was totally torn.
So it was just hanging.
The other one was they set a thread, basically, just like holding it.
And the capsule was blown open, basically.
It had been ripped in every direction from recoil impact.
So they were like, yeah, you had like a half tendon,
and then it was sort of resting on the remnants of a capsule.
What they do is they basically, they put anchors in to mimic new tendons.
So I have three anchors, like going around the ball.
But for the capsule, and what I understand, they basically cut it.
Like if you picture an onion, like they, if the capsule's like this,
they cut it in slits.
and then they
fold the slits over each other
like an onion and restitch it
so they actually tighten it
to the point where it's tighter
than when it was normal
and the idea
and this is the new way they do it
I went to like the best guy in the world
the guy that
one good thing about Boston for all it's bullshit
is we like objectively have the best doctors
in the world by a lot
and the guy who did my shoulder
did Ali Raisman
the U.S. Olympic team
is just like the guy
down the street.
So the way they do it now is they cut it like an onion and then suture it together.
And then in your physical therapy, you do like really aggressive physical therapy to retare the capsule.
And it heals.
It tricks the capsule into healing as if it's a new capsule.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I had to do quite a quite a bit of physical therapy for my arm when I broke my wrist and I had
to get a titanium plate inserted in there and then sewn into the, or not sewn in,
screwed into the bone.
And, you know, it's immobilized for a period of time.
And then when you take that immobilizer off and, you know, I mean, as soon as I took it off,
the physical therapist was like, let me see what you can do.
And I was like barely able to move it.
My hand, like, could not open.
And he just took my fingers and just wrenched him open.
I was like, ah, dude, that's literally what my doctor did.
I went back to him because he's like a very new school.
Do no harm.
Do you no harm?
Yeah, this guy, I went to this guy in debt of mass, Dr. Tierney.
Shout out to Dr. Tierney.
He was like a no-bullshitter would just swear.
He called me a pussy in my first follow-up.
And Mrs. Bright was there because I went to the doctor and I'm in a sling because, you know, you look it up.
Even the protocol his office gave me was like, you're in a sling for four weeks at least, probably three months.
But you start the physio-like month too.
And I went in, I think it was weak two.
And he was like, oh, where are you at with your arm moving around?
And I was like, oh, literally not at all.
It's in a sling, as your office told me.
And he was like, why are you being such a pussy?
I thought you were a boxer.
And then he goes to my wife.
He's like, which arm does he hit harder with?
And she was like his right.
And he was like, oh, good.
Moves to the other side of my body, grabs my arm.
And I think he's joking the whole time.
wrenches it behind my back
after the surgery
literally wrenches it behind my back and like
I hear it just popping and tearing
and everything
and then he like
stayed behind me holding my arm and he's like
are you okay are you mad like are you gonna hit me
and I'm like no I'm not gonna fucking hit you
but why did you do that whatever and then it felt great
it was like five minutes later
he was like you gotta move around you can't be such a bitch
you gotta get it moving. He was like
this is the new school like
you gotta move you gotta move after the surgery
or else it's going to set.
Yeah.
And you're going to end up with a whole, the opposite range of issues.
You came in because you couldn't really use it.
Is what I'm hearing.
You could have been.
Basically.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The most painful part was that I woke up, I got off painkillers because I've always been
afraid of like painkillers.
So I got off painkillers day two.
And that was a mistake.
Good for you.
That was a mistake.
Well, it was probably good in the long run.
because they're great. They work awesome.
And then, you know, when you have to stop taking them, that's when you really have a problem.
Yeah, I woke up screaming at like three or four in the morning because my bicep felt like it was just having a seizure.
And my wife called though. She was like pumping me full of painkillers after that.
And she called the office and got the Dr. Tierney on the phone.
And he says it feels like his arm is dying and like his bicep is on fire or whatever.
And I'm like, I went in for a shoulder surgery.
Something went terribly wrong.
And he was like, oh, no, man.
When we went in there, we found your bicep tendon.
And I was like, what do you mean?
You found it.
And he was like, oh, it was not there.
It was.
So apparently your bicep tendon like hooks in here.
Mine was over here.
Oof.
So he's like, we tightened that back up for you.
But it's going to hurt.
How are you able to move your arm at all?
I have no idea, man.
Well, actually, a lot of the pain, like,
the neck pain and all this, it's because for 10 years, all the other muscles were picking everything up.
And the arm was just kind of there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The way it can adapt is incredible.
And, but yeah, the surgery, you know, the problem is, you know, when they put people in boots and things like that, there's scar tissue forming.
And if you don't have that range of motion, it's gone.
And it takes months and months and months of very painful rehab to break that scar tissue.
up. So even though, yeah, it hurt in the moment, that's the way to do it.
And Jay, you know this better than anybody, but it's like, it's funny because I sometimes
push back on, I understand why people in the truth community and sort of the alternative
health world push back so hard on Western medicine and surgeons and everything. I get it.
Trust me. I've been through the ringer. But like, that was one example where I was like,
that guy improved my, because he was so skilled at what he did, he improved my quality of life so
much by doing that, but I needed his aggressive post-op approach and he sent me to an awesome
physio team that was very aggressive. And that's why I always tell people, like if you've been
told that you need a surgery or whatever, try to find somebody who works on athletes. It does not
matter if you're an athlete. Find somebody who works on athletes because that person is specifically
trying to get somebody back into motion in like a very high level.
And when you just go to somebody who works on 75-year-olds who hurt their shoulder,
that's not what they're trying to do.
So, yeah.
There was this guy, I can't remember his name, but he was like a team doctor for the saints, I think,
and he opened a clinic, I want to say in Indiana.
And it was like a fast food for high-performance surgeries, like you're talking.
about like you can go in there's like a menu and a price list and everything and it was no insurance
and it was basically his way and it's been probably four or five years since i read about that i'm
i need to try to find that again um but it was like you go in there and this was a guy that
like worked for an NFL team doing exactly what we're talking about uh you know helping people
with put knees back together and you know killies back to you know everything you're describing
for the whole body yeah and he kind of brought in other specialists as well and it was kind of like a
come in and pick off the menu sort of, you know, surgery, outpatient type surgery.
This guy was shocking, too, and I will say there's some signs of encouragement in the medical
industry, even in like the 15 years I was run through the ringer because I had some bad
experiences. Like, not everything was good. But the shoulder surgery was the last one I had.
And, you know, this guy is like Western medicine. He repair shoulders for a living. He works with
athletes, whatever. So I'm thinking, like, very traditional minded. I went in, I went to
him like maybe three months after my surgery, he was like, oh, if you try, I literally can't remember
what it's even called. But he was like, if you tried, um, like hypno recovery, whatever program.
And I was like, what are you talking about? He was like, we got this new guy in the, uh,
in the office that he puts you in like a machine. And it's like hypnotherapy and all this kind
of stuff. And I was like, what are you? Like, it was the last thing I thought this guy would think.
But it was cool because at this practice, it's like they're very open to new ideas.
And he was like, yeah, I don't know if it's a bunch of hippie bullshit.
But he was like, I've sent a bunch of my athletes to him and they say that they feel better.
So he's like, I'm just telling you, I don't know what he's doing.
But it's making people feel better.
To your point, B.B, when you were talking about how like our community doesn't trust Western medicine,
well, I mean, there's a lot of reason why they don't because a lot of them have, you know, violated.
our trust, but that doesn't mean they're all bad and that doesn't mean there isn't a time and
a place for surgery and there isn't it. I mean, as a chiropractor, I've sent people out for surgery
because it's, I can't help you. You have a tear in a structure that needs to be surgically
repaired like your shoulder. And it's a matter of finding the right doctors, like you said,
you found a great doctor. He works with athletes. I find that a lot of orthopedic surgeons,
they don't care about you after they're done with their part. And the fact that he took an
in how your recovery was going, sent you to a pretty cutting edge physiotherapy place to kind of do the rehab.
That says a lot about the kind of doctor he is.
But if he's working with a lot of athletes, obviously, like, he, he is going to see how his patient is doing.
I mean, Allie Raisman is going to give you a call or her management is going to be like, what, what's going on here?
Yeah.
But I see like, you know, especially like in the workers comp industry here in California, it's terrible system.
and you get the worst, you know, treatment.
There's doctors convincing people like, hey, if you get surgery,
you get to be off work for six months.
Let me do a little surgery on you, you know, and they don't need it.
And I've had a friend who had back surgery that he didn't need,
and I pleaded with him, don't let them cut on you.
And now this is 20 years later, he's had seven or eight back surgeries.
He's never gone back to work and he lives on painkillers and walks with a cane and he's younger than me.
But yeah, that's the kind of thing.
It's like you you've got to be smart.
You got to do your homework.
You got to do your research.
You know, ask a lot of questions.
Ask what they're doing?
What is the procedure going to be?
I talk about this all the time.
I have people with scars on their back.
I said, what, you know, what did you have done?
Oh, back surgery.
Well, yes, but what kind, you know, and they have a lot going on back there.
There's a wide spectrum of possibilities.
Yes, and they have no clue.
I saw see let somebody put you out, cut on your back, take something out of you or put something in,
and you have no idea what that was.
Nope.
You know what's ironic, Jay?
The reason I trusted this guy is because he's like a born and raised Boston guy,
and that's part of it, but it's not just because I'm Boston biased.
There really is something to, like when you've grown up here,
the direct nature of like South Shore Boston Irish guys.
And the other surgeons I had been to, and like they do brilliant work.
But, I mean, the surgery I got first when I was 12.
22, two men in the world did it at that time.
One of them happened to be in Boston.
One of them was in Germany.
So, like, I lucked out there, but that one was actually, to your point, Jay, I got no follow-up.
It's like, that guy's in high demand.
People literally, when I was consulting with him, were in that office from all over the world because he was one of the only ones who did that.
But this Boston guy, he was super direct and super honest in our consultations where I was like,
oh, you know, I have all these neck problems.
He was like, yeah, you got like a pile of trash neck.
And I was like, oh, well, like, do you think you can help that?
He was like, I'm a shoulder surgeon.
So I was like, but he was super direct where the other surgeons are like, well, you know, it might help you with this and that.
He's like, listen, I don't really care about your neck.
It's a pile of trash.
But he's like, your shoulder is a disaster.
And I can fix that.
But he made no other problem.
He was just like, I can fix your shoulder.
I will not make any promises about anything else.
But like, your shoulder will be fixed.
And the, you know, I like that.
approach where it's like very and you know especially in your line of work i believe very strongly
in exhausting all conservative options before you let anybody cut you in any way yeah and i i take that
direct approach with my patients too it's like if i can't help you i don't want to waste your time you know
if you if i see an MRI and you're just shoulder is completely destroyed well i i could spend
eight weeks you know and waste your time so there are times where it's so extreme you can just say look
you really need to get, you know, a little higher level of care than you're going to get here.
So, and I think the direct approach is great.
I think a lot of doctors, their problem is they don't tell people things straight up, you know,
or they try to, you know, act like they're a jack of all trades when really like, like this guy,
it's perfect.
You know, I can't help you with your neck.
Yeah.
But, you know, it's funny because you'd see, you know, you go on like these review websites or whatever,
this review websites or everything, right?
And you'd see like five star, five star, five star, one star, very rude man.
Really?
You know, like that's the drawback is you're not going to please everybody.
Somebody's going to take offense to your direct approach.
Yeah, that's like reading an Amazon review that's like, yeah, oh, it was broken in the
packaging.
Like that's not the fault of the cell.
Right.
Right.
Okay.
So I think what we've learned is that J.Trya, you should have Burning Bright sign a liability
waiver.
Are you kidding?
I'm like, dude, I felt totally.
fine until I went to
My hands are sweating already like hearing about
how scratched his neck is and he wants to touch it.
The cost of adjustment, I understand.
I can't guarantee that you won't be paralyzed after.
The good news is we have the record of the pre-existing problems here on this show.
Right.
Damn it.
You need to deal with though is this.
You guys hear that?
Yeah.
That's Matt's Mike.
So I hard muted Matt because,
because, well, Lisa was like, I can't deal with this.
What do you got going on in that room, Matt?
You have a dark matter?
It's like what do you hear?
What are you hearing?
It sounds like the, the eerie echoes of space, to be perfectly honest with you.
Matt, do you have a mic?
You're in that black cube that he described you.
No, that's the problem is my mic.
My mic here is.
Your mic is omnidirectional.
Well, no, I can't use it right now.
It keeps.
Oh, are you on your laptop?
Mac. But whatever you just did made it better.
He's just on his computer, Mike. That's why.
Do you have a mini split on the wall?
A mini split?
Yeah, it's one of those AC units that is blowing cold air on you for purposes of climate control.
No, I know they don't have them in Europe, Matt, but there is there is the sound of air conditioning coming from somewhere.
And I guess that's what you're hearing.
You turn your air off. You hotbox yourself for us.
You can't do that.
Take the jacket off.
but on a jessica will will leave me like on the spot if i don't get in the summer here so
Lisa Lisa is addicted to air conditioning too like we're laying in bed at night and i'm like this
and she's like turn it down to 69 i will say Zach that uh as much as like all the badlands
uh Florida and Florida adjacent people almost got mrs bright to be like moved to Florida
yeah she was like oh what do you guys do when it's hot or what do you do during these
months and all the badlanders that she was talking to were like oh we just don't go outside yeah
yeah i mean i will go outside lisa doesn't go outside but like i like we don't go outside in those
months yeah i mean i like it i i i will you know i mean obviously i got to do yard work and stuff
like but midday sometimes i'm like i just want to feel that sun and so i will say though fall in
new england it's as good as all the white girls say it is man just get those you get that
cinnamon spice on the arm and you just
you just go ham
that's how you navigate
that's how they navigate
right they get the hugs out
Drake what's going on with the future of your life
that you just threw in the trash today
I'm gonna live off of government cheese
and a van down by the river that's my plan
but yeah I walked into work today
I was actually scheduled or I got forced in for
overtime today which is a hazard of
the job I formerly worked.
And you can make plans on your days off and then like, oh, actually you're forced for overtime.
And so, you know, you can call off, which is a point against your attendance record.
And I was, I called off for today, which put me at six call-offs, which is a mandatory, get,
this is like a glimpse into the stupidity of this place.
Office space.
People that struggle with coming into work so they have an attendance issue, they get
to their sixth call off, which means they have called off work sometime in a 12-month period six
times. And the punishment is you can't come back to work for two days. God, God forbid. Just feeding the habit.
It's too dangerous. And then the best part about it is that, you know, we run four shifts,
you know, the 12-hour shifts. So when I'm on, there's a team that's off. And so if someone is on vacation
or someone is suspended for not having a good attendance record,
one of us on our team gets forced in to cover that open spot.
So the person who gets suspended for having a poor attendance record,
they get to sit home for two days,
which when you add up the days off and either side is like seven straight days off.
And so they get a seven-day vacation.
Obviously, they're not paid.
And then someone gets forced in on their day off to cover their spot.
So I called off today because I was like,
I've never gotten one of these free vacations and I was planning on quitting October 1st anyway
and I was like, you know what, I'll just call off today, I called off the night before
and then my wife and I were talking about it and my daughters are at a play coming up here
in the second weekend of October and I'm building set pieces and she's like, man, it would be
really nice if you could like, we didn't have to work around your stupid schedule.
Like since you were going to be calling off and getting the suspension, like what if we just
What if you just quit now?
And one of the factors that had led to me choosing October 1st as my quit, you know,
timeframe was that our vacation resets in October.
So I was thinking, well, I get my five weeks of vacation.
And when you quit, that gets paid out to you in, you know, as a one lump sum.
So I have to work until October 1st, get access to that vacation.
Well, then I found out a few days ago,
definitively, well, actually, because that's based on the hours you've already worked this year,
you actually have rights to it now. So if you were to quit now, you will actually get that anyway.
It's like, oh, that changes things. So then, you know, my wife and I were talking about it,
and she's like, yeah, why don't you just quit? I was like, don't tempt me with a good time.
So that's, I walked in today and I, I was, I was.
was really, really hoping I could use the line that you can't fire me because I quit.
But unfortunately, it didn't play out that way.
And you just had some kind of respectful, cordial exchange and then there was no begging from them.
No, no. They, they are quite happy to see me leave.
I did tell them, thank you for the educational opportunity of working for you.
I learned a lot from you fucks.
which is not a compliment by any stretch.
But yeah, I have no issue saying now that I formerly worked for a company called
primary product primary ingredients America's LLC.
We called it premium.
It was a completely made up company that it was a, there was an investment corporation, KPS
investors.
They do this to a lot of companies.
They go in, they buy them.
they paint the walls, turn around and sell them a few years later.
So they bought a company called Tate and Lyle, which is a British ingredients company.
They make Splenda.
And, you know, dextros, high fructose corn syrup, all the wonderful things that are making it so healthy.
Tate and Lyle bought A.E. Staley, which started in the 1920s.
The Chicago Bears were formerly the Staley Bears.
So that's the claim that we have to fame.
Like, we were the Chicago Bears got their miserable start.
So A.E. Staley, I mean, the plant's been there.
Like, one of the buildings I worked in was built in like the 1920s.
And, you know, so there's a lot of history there.
A lot of people in the area have worked for that place.
And it's obviously changed hands.
There's just a really, really toxic relationship between it is a union plant.
So the union side and the company side, there's just always,
this toxic relationship back and forth.
The company is not the place that engineers make a career.
It's their,
their first stepping stone after college.
So we constantly are getting just these young, idiot engineers who,
one of them, she didn't stay long because she, you know,
the ones that are worth that you want to stay,
they don't stay long.
Yeah.
Well, yeah.
Women engineers.
She would have been a good one.
Are they engineering sandwiches?
Women took us to space.
Yeah, that's right. That's right.
Space is fake.
Confirmed.
Yeah, Matt, you can't argue with that one.
It's over.
She was telling me about her experience in school,
where her professors were literally telling her and their other engineering fellow students
that you're going to be going into one of these plant environments,
and you're the educated one.
You're the one with the degree.
Basically, you're the smart one.
And it's like, wow, I'm glad you told me that
because that totally explains the way
most of these young engineers come in
where, like, I was there almost 15 years.
I knew what I was doing.
I'm not a complete moron.
I was, you know, guys that I work with
had been there for 30 years.
You work with equipment day in, day out.
You understand how that stuff really operates.
And then an engineer comes in and goes,
oh, I want you to try this.
Like, yeah, we tried that like three years ago.
And it completely failed.
and not only do I know from history that that's not going to work,
but here's five logical reasons as to why your suggestion is not only not going to work,
but it's literally dumb that you suggested that we do that.
I had no problem communicating in such fashion.
And it's a factory.
So it's, you know, we call it factory talk, which is a pun because our control systems are called factory talk.
The factory talk is, you know, the F bomb is like, um.
So they'd be like, well, oh, we want to try it anyway.
And it would predictably just epically fail.
And then they would just ignore it.
And then six months later, hey, we want to try, try this.
Like, we just did that.
Like with the elastic engineer that was here.
Like that cycle would just be tried it with a man.
Dying to know the specifics of something that is tried and stupid and fails.
Well, and that's the thing is that they have no history in this place.
and rather than take the approach of, okay, you've been here for like over a decade.
I was in kindergarten when you started working here.
So like, why don't you tell me what you, like they never started at the operations level.
And actually that goes to like corporate espionage and stuff.
This company was bought.
I forgot the, you know, the sticker price.
It was hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars.
And it blows my mind that this lonesome fugitive says, I know fact your talk.
Yeah.
It blows my mind that this company came in and they bought it and they did it based off of,
I call it the pleated pants and loafers crowd.
There are the ones that wander through the plant wearing the shiny hard hat and the big over the glasses, safety glasses.
And they're all like, oh, wow, look at that.
And they get guided to the parts of the plant that they don't.
Ash has been that person so many times.
When she's going into acts, half the workforce.
Right.
Well, okay.
So they do these official like tours and it's like, okay, if I'm going to spend even
$100 million to buy a company, I'm going to spend a little bit of money a couple years
in advance because you didn't just wake up one day, like, I'm going to go buy that company.
You probably plan this out for a while and you scoped it out.
Why wouldn't they include as part of their budget?
hire in a couple people as operators and let them work there for even just six months
so that you can actually find out like kind of the like undercover bosses kind of a thing
find out what really it's like in on the ground where the rubber meets the road and it was like
only matters if you're not planning on firing everyone if you're not planning on what do you
mean if you're buying the company to operate it instead of some other reason well that's what
this company like this investment group you know group that would do is
they'd go in and they would they would rearrange some management but then they would also you know
they would all the workers would just shift over because they don't want to go through the streamline
yeah which speaking of a streamlined that I had the distinction of the CEO of the company which
the the investment corporation comes in and they they have this pre-made cookie cutter corporate
culture that they just sort of plopped in where they had
slogans and they had banners that just suddenly appear as if we've had this long-term culture that
that they're feeding off of it. It was completely fake, completely arbitrary. And then you'd have
all the company people because they all have to go along with it. They're all like doing the little
hand motions and pictures that they would send out on the stupid social media app that they brought in
for the company to talk about how wonderful it was. Telling you not to forget the new acronyms
that they've all developed for the culture. And so it was like, we,
We were starting to push back on some of that.
And so I started commenting on the social media app like, you guys really want to build
a culture here?
Like here's what you need to do.
Streamline management, beef up the maintenance, bring in more operators so that we're not
running short staffed all the time and actually give us equipment that isn't 70 years old
and breaking down and actually, you know, fixed stuff.
And then I kind of went back and forth a little bit.
And I happened to have been made, made the comments underneath the comment left by the CEO
of the company.
Oh, yes.
And I had the distinction.
I became like famous company wide because this was a company wide.
So they have plants even around the world.
But I had the distinction that he personally wanted me fired.
And the, the straw that broke the camel's back because I got talked to like,
this is not a documented conversation.
This is just a chat.
We're just having a chat.
You need to stop doing that.
Like we only want positive comments.
I'm like, I'm being positive.
Like I'm trying to help you guys build a better culture and just giving you honest feedback
Turns out those were documented conversations that they later used to suspend me
So there's love they're lying but they they had on their company I think I've mentioned this before they had on the company like screen saver on every computer around the world
During November it's like friendship month or some stupid thing because we all whatever the things were they would always have you know it's national coming out month it's a national pride month it's women's rights it's black rights
all this different type of stuff.
Yeah.
They had one that was all these human hands interlocking
to make the shape of a human heart.
And I'm sitting there staring at the screen
just kind of like, this is so dumb.
This is so insulting.
Why are they doing this to us?
And I realized,
a typical graphic you can download
from any free graphic design website.
Well, being slightly autistic,
I happen to notice those cuticles are all identical.
Like, holy shit.
It's the same.
same hand but it's the skin tones were darkened to make it look diverse so racist that is great
i i i course at this point they're starting to push the whole like you know uh all all the dey
stuff and and you know stated goal we're going to have 40 percent women out here and we need the
the workforce to represent the community so i know 13 percent is actually what the national
average is but we're going to make it like 70 percent black new hires so i get on there like
i am deeply offended for um you know for the uh the black employee now
network here because they had a you can head a group that was for black employees because here
we have what's clearly blackface on every company computer and this isn't this is an outrage
and that was like get rid of him I get hauled in to like the plant manager that like all the
all the big wigs at the at the plant level my area manager he comes and gets me he's like this
this is serious I'm like how high does this go he's like it's pretty high I'm like like like
how high like all the way to the top he's like
Yeah, CEO.
Like the CEO wants you gone.
And the only thing that saved my job was the fact that I had not had any
any behavioral problems up to that point.
Shocking.
I know.
So they had to show progressive discipline.
So I got a three-day suspension.
I was like, fine.
I'll have to be here.
You know, that's great.
Thanks.
And then they slowly phased out the social media aspect of it.
But it was stuff like that.
It was just complete. Oh, the other thing, too, is what we were pushing back on was at the time we had guys in certain areas we're running short that we're getting legally they could force you 13 straight days. These are 12-hour shifts. So you had guys when we're working 13 straight. They'd get a day off and then 13 straight and then get a day off for like months. Because they were so short staff. In the corporate building that's on the property, they have.
had people posting about, we're celebrating a sales goal, something, blah, blah, blah.
So we spent the day building a putt putt course in the hallways and we had a championship
and here's the winners.
And they're posting pictures of it.
Like, yay, go us.
And so I'm in this meeting where they're telling me like, you're being disrespectful.
I'm like, so is it disrespectful that you have guys getting forced 13 days in a row being
away from their families, missing time with their kids?
and you have people playing put-put instead of doing work all day.
And you want to tell me that I'm being disrespectful?
And I was like, what are we supposed to do when we see something like that?
And guys are like, oh, well, you just don't respond to it.
And this is why people hate working here.
And I had some other line.
I can't remember exactly what it was.
But he's like, your outhouse lawyer tricks won't work in here.
Your outhouse lawyer tricks.
That became a byword.
And like people, I had no idea who they were.
Like, I'd be walking and out of the plan or something like that.
I feel like, hey, Jonathan, yeah, good job.
Power to the people, man.
That is great.
You are a troublemaker, man, I love it.
Well, I got increasingly that way.
Like, it built and built, and that's one of the things that just,
when you get insulted to you, like, the core of your intelligence by just utterly stupid stuff,
I mean, I could go on for hours.
It is, it's cathartic.
I could, literally.
It's cathartic to be able to release this stuff, but.
It's even more cathartic to know that I'm never walking through that hellhole ever again willingly.
Yeah, I have to bring in hand anxiety about you talking about this so close to when this happened because you haven't gotten your final check and all that kind of stuff.
Well, they're legally obligated, you know, to do that.
The thing about the hand poster though, like the fact that they, because it wasn't, we were, we were all joking saying, oh, it was Clippart. It wasn't Clippew.
part. They took the same hand and they changed the skin tone on the hands. And I kind of wish they
would have fired you for that because it would have been such a fun lawsuit. Oh, yeah. And,
and if you would suit them, they would have settled with you for big money because you can prove
that they were actually being racist and engaging in blackface. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Because that
is literally black. And we're talking about the maker of the world's gummy bear supply. So.
Yeah, yeah. My brother loves gummy bears. I love harrow or how are you.
that they use our corn starch and our dextros.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So I'm, I'm very happy to not be going.
I mean, I'd get up at three in the morning,
you know, work at 12-hour shift going at four.
And it would get to the point where, like,
for the last number of months, we've been on a straight shift,
but for the majority of the 14 and a half years I was there,
we were doing a month of days.
A gay shift.
Yeah, it was a month of days and a month of nights.
And so by the time he kind of got used to the schedule,
you were switching again. And, you know, that was, that was long, that took, that was, that was, that took a lot out of me.
And I, I've talked to guys that, um, that have been retired, you know, I've seen like see them six months after they retire.
And they're like, yeah, it took me like four months until like get my sleep schedule, you know, even semi-normal.
So I know it's going to take me a while to kind of ease it out of my system. But.
So with, with 13, 13, 30, you said 13, 13, 13 hour days or 13, or 13,
12 hour days. 13 12 hour days. With 13 12 hour days, did you guys have a lot of injuries on the floor?
Like, were people like losing hands or like like, like, I don't know. I mean, I don't know how these machines work that you're using.
So I don't know how often. But I mean, I've been on heavy machine, heavy, the floors of heavy machine shops where, you know, if you're tired, if you're distracted, you might get your hands sucked into a press or something like.
Yeah, yeah. So this only the Asians, Zach.
I've seen too many four chat videos.
There was some of that, usually like, you know, like BB's talking about nerve damage.
It was one time I was climbing down a ladder that had, you know, metal rails.
It was welded ladder and, you know, half inch steel side rails.
And I wasn't moving my arms very quick.
And I just happened to move in and my elbow right at my funny bone caught the corner.
Yeah.
And immediately my hand went like that.
And it took me a full 10 minutes to be able to straighten my hand back out again.
and it felt like it was on fire.
And I was by myself and being the dad joke
officiant out of that I am,
I was like, this isn't funny!
Because I hit my funny bone.
But it was like two years that these two fingers,
that you're talking about those going numb,
that would go numb.
And even now, if I press on that,
they immediately start to tingle like 10, 12 years later.
So there'll be times of people would, you know, hand injuries,
but you typically don't report those
because they're for a while what they were doing
as a way to promote safety.
if you got hurt at work and you admitted to it,
then they would make you go around from one team to the other
describing how you got hurt and how you made the mistake
and how you could have avoided it as a teaching opportunity.
Walk of shame.
Oh, yeah, it was, which there was one guy that took that to heart
and he literally wrote a poem.
This guy was so out to lunch.
He wrote a poem a la the night before Christmas
about his injury and telling a story
about how he fell down this little set of stairs.
like three steps that he tripped down and cracked his ankle and he read it in a british accent
in a factory that it was like for one thing you got to admire the nuts on this guy to go in there
and do that knowing that every one of it's like this guy's so crazy and so i had my phone and
it was like oh yeah do you have it let's play it i i've got i'd have to see if you can find that
Someone else go.
I've blown off snagg.
I'll find it.
I have something autistic to add.
Okay, go ahead.
Not autistic.
I just know autistic people.
So I just decided that I thought something was funny.
That was the most autistic intro.
I'm not autistic.
I'm not autistic, damn it.
So Ash was writing in the chat earlier about what was going on with Matt's
Mike.
And if you guys know me, I have a very specific and strange sense of humor.
So just things that other people don't think is funny, I think is the funniest thing ever.
And the two comments that Ash made in our private chat, I thought were hilarious.
So just to show people what those comments were, Ash at 1126 p.m. said,
Matt, something going on with your mic.
There is a humming.
And that just, I thought that was hilarious.
So I was talking to AI about this whole time.
You're not autistic at all, Burning Day.
You're totally normal.
And I had Grock write me a synopsis, like a pitch for a movie based only on this image.
And I will read you that synopsis.
This is not a full movie synopsis.
This is just like to get you in the theater.
I love it.
There is a humming.
Something's going on with his mic.
It's 11.26 p.m.
The call should have ended an hour ago.
Then Ash types two messages that will outlive both of them.
Something's wrong with Matt's microphone.
There is a humming.
What starts as a glitch becomes the last conversation.
Either of them will ever finish because the sound in the mic isn't feedback.
It isn't the fridge.
It isn't the street.
It's been waiting under every word they've ever said.
And tonight, it wants a turn to speak.
Now streaming, do not wear headphones.
That wasn't enough.
I also asked Grock, make me a movie poster.
Oh, yes, yes.
Did you use Matt and Ash's pictures?
Of course, I did.
Oh, yes, yes.
This is like my favorite thing to do.
There is a humming.
We've got the...
I think the humming would be...
No, no.
This is a new age, John.
This looks like a Lossie Hallstrom movie or something like that.
Something's going on with his life.
Matt was super foreign in that show.
And what's these credits down here?
Frequency Pictures presents a Midnight Wire production.
Ash, Matt, there is a humming.
casting by the last person to hang up, music that was already there, sound by the room,
written and directed by two people who should have said good night.
I love the little subtitle.
There's something going on with his mind.
Anyway, that's what I've been doing.
That is wonderful, and I will now take you into the theater.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, sweet.
There we go.
week and all through the plants. Employers were working like hundreds of plants. I walked down my
packer watching the process with care. I checked on the slip sheets before climbing upstairs. When I reached
a top, something wrong I did see. Two bags were touching clear on coming towards me. My perch was a
poor one or so I did think. So as I watched these bags, my heart did sing. I was standing around,
was going to solve nothing.
I moved up with haste,
with some they all rushing.
My left foot hit the ladder,
my hands grabbed the rails.
But to my own horror,
my bootscript could fail.
My cut in a back foot,
I hit Catwalk below.
My right ankle twisted,
absorbing the problem.
Those machines are amazing.
The sensors galore.
They stop the problem.
on floor you probably all know just what happened next I talk to the boss while doctors
pay checks to raise more awareness the boss told me to talk on hazards of Russia why I think when I
want so I stand before you from actions all my own be safe avoid rushing and we all can go
So he read that to four.
And ever to four different teams.
And it's meant to be kind of punishment.
And the guy came in on overtime.
So they paid him a time and a half to sit at a computer and write that and then read it to people.
I thought he was making fun of them.
I think he was.
No, he was in earnest.
Are you sure?
Are you sure?
Are you sure?
This is his co-worker.
That's horrible.
Yeah.
Wow.
That makes it bad.
This guy was this guy.
And the end of it when he's like no rushing, et cetera, you can tell it to see.
Yes.
Yeah.
He's just trying to make it fun.
We're trying to make safety fun, Zach.
Yes.
We're going to make a, we're going to maintain this fake British accent the whole time to emphasize it.
Yeah.
He used to be a trucker and he would talk about how he would go for like two weeks without a shower and that when you're a trucker, baby wipes are your best friend.
for on the road.
Oh, God.
That's a hazard.
He's a walking hazard right there.
And then also because you don't want to stop and waste time, you know, buying real food, he would get hot or a, what is it, pizza rolls and he would, you know, he'd have a box in a air fry.
And his cooler, no, like, but as he's driving, he would warm them by holding them in his hands.
Oh, God.
Oh, my God.
So that he had a connection to his, well, you know, like hunters, hunter gatherers, they have a connection to what they kill.
It was John.
Gonna be armpits.
Yeah.
Well, he had to get right in there for a pizza bag.
Three minutes.
Oh yeah.
He was a heavy smoker who, when it rained, his, he obviously had cats or hamsters or something because his coats.
Those are two entirely different animals.
Oh my God.
Well, it was like piss and ash tray was like the odor that just.
emanated from the sky.
Oh, lovely.
Oh, my God.
So, Burning Bright, putting myself in fictitious movie posters is also one of my favorite pastimes.
And this is one that I made.
You sent me this picture the other day.
You didn't send me the poster, but you sent me just this picture.
I did.
I sent you the picture.
But, yeah, so this is just one of them.
I did a couple of variations on this Miami thing.
Do you show them to Lisa and she's size?
But I do.
But yeah.
Yeah.
No, no, put that back up.
Okay.
In a city built on sand.
He'll bring down an empire built on below.
That guy with a mustache looks pretty serious though.
He does. Yeah.
I'm a little concerned by your trigger discipline though.
You know what? I have nothing.
You know, I can't tell Grock to make sure that I'm like effectively holding my gun so that it doesn't go off.
Well, you could be actually just shooting somebody right there and you're just so cool about it.
You don't even need to look at your time.
target you're just yeah backstage before the narrative Zach was immediate right when his camera came on he was showing me guns
just like unprovoked so this is entirely accurate although his guns actually looked way cooler than that gun the placement of the
silver one here's where's your stack of hundreds where's your benjamin's uh that's in a safe but yeah there's the
silver one yeah it does look like a robocop one like each bullet you're like I meant that one
Yes, definitely. And did you guys know that they're making a Robocop series?
Yes.
Starring Dan Stevens. I think he will look good in the Robocop.
It works. He seems a bit sociopathic. He plays a good...
Oh, the guest. That's a great movie.
The guest is a good movie.
Okay. So another one that I do is we have a Silence of the Lamb's calendar.
So every month it's a different scene from Silence of the Lamb's calendar.
And so you guys tell me
It puts the lotion on its skin
or else it gets the hose again.
Exactly, exactly.
So tell me if you remember
what scene this is from.
Man, I haven't seen that movie in forever.
I don't know.
Okay, when Jody Foster is in Buffalo Bill's basement,
he's got the night vision goggles on
and then she turns the lights on
and he's standing right there with the gun
and then she shoots him.
But yeah, I was like, I was like, this is perfect.
I can put Chi-Chi in there.
And yeah.
Chee-Chi's face looks a little weird in that.
That's actually what Chi-Chi looked like in the photograph that I used.
Straight up.
He straight up looked like that.
See, the way his tongue hangs out, he has no teeth over there on that side of his jaw.
So his tongue is all.
And that's not nearly as extreme as it usually is.
Like, it's usually a lot longer, especially if he's asleep.
But I thought you did a whole calendar a whole calendar with yourself in various scenes from
Well, I haven't made it to December yet but literally every month I like take the photograph and then I place myself
I have an idea for December would you fuck me I don't even know what December is yet we haven't gotten there yet I didn't want to ruin it
What the fucking dog with the basket?
Zach just sends that to his wife when he's like wondering like, hey, what are you doing?
Oh, my God.
You know what you're like joking to your wife, but you're like, but I would.
Yeah.
How are you going to take this joke?
We are going to hear from our next, our final two sponsors, which of course is.
We're sorry.
Court is now in session.
Your Honor, the defense calls Mr. Dry Skin G-Money to the stand.
We're going to pretend I didn't hear that.
Mr. Dry Skin, isn't it true that soft disclosure is proudly made right here in the United States
while directly supporting six American small businesses?
I reckon.
Isn't it also true that soft disclosure is made with honest natural ingredients
without the harsh chemicals so many people are trying to avoid?
And isn't it true? It's made with the help of adorable baby goats.
Can't argue with the goats.
The court reminds the gallery that Lobstock will conduct themselves appropriately.
Bless your flaky little heart, Mr. Dryskin.
Your Honor, the defense would like to submit Exhibit A.
Proceed.
Cindy H writes, honestly, the best lotion I've ever used.
Exhibit A is admitted.
Exhibit B. I use it on my face and hands, get compliments on looking much younger.
Mr. Drake, I appreciate your enthusiast.
Not greasy at all.
Clean feel compared to other lotions.
Vanilla citrus has a nice light scent.
Well, that is just showing off.
Tyrone writes, I find myself hydrating my elbows
and moisturizing my soul a lot more frequently now.
The defense rests.

when you grow up. When this comes in nice and thick, yes. But I've been using it on my face. Like I said,
I've been using the beard oil for months now, just putting it on my skin, and it's fantastic even for that.
So it is multi-purpose beard oil.
Matt, why did you betray us?
Oh, you're muted, Matt.
I had a job interview.
I've had a couple job interviews lately, and I don't want to look like I'm 80 years old, the beard.
Because there is ageism in tech, definitely.
For sure.
Well, it's the perfect time to be applying, because all.
all of the previous employment holders are now getting sent back to their countries of origin.
Did you see the thing, Zach, because you cover a new story.
Did you see the thing where like 90 something percent of new jobs was WAMN's?
Yes, let me explain that to you.
All right, so what you had was a lot more women entering the job market,
and you effectively had a net zero men entering the job market because what you had was effectively the same amount
of men entering as women, but you also had a reduction of foreign-born men being removed from the
job market. So it's effectively American men replacing those foreign-born men, and then women also
just entering the job market because they had an opportunity. So all the foreign workers were
doing the men jobs. Yes, yes. Okay. I would imagine that their wives were probably working as well,
but they were probably working under the tables. So they got sent home and they didn't count in
terms of the labor market well that makes me feel better i will just say though that any woman entering
the workforce should be pregnant instead all right can i show one more this this one's for you
b b b before you do we have one more ad to do it let's do it let's do it it's a advertisement
an advertisement yes about uh los vegas nevada and half of us will be there

kind of outside of just the regular panel stuff and that will dingo fights you know what they might
have in Vegas is a kangaroo that we can make alpha fight oh yeah neither are fully human
One's a Mexican.
I was told by our fearless leader that I, to pick,
that we could only go to one between Florida and Las Vegas.
So that's why I'm not there.
Okay.
What?
Was that really a rule?
I don't remember.
I was told that.
Well, I'm going to miss you, Matt.
I was looking forward to seeing you there.
It might have been the dancing, Matt.
I'm sure I did something to piss John off because he's like,
You're coming too often to these guards.
You're bringing you in.
So, you know.
Well, as I often say behind the scenes,
the only person who knows less about what's going on at Badlands than John is nobody.
So, you know, you can't take anything he says about the company seriously,
although I suppose you have to defer to him in moments like this.
Yeah.
What, you know, but I was going to pull a Jonathan and, you know,
just turn in my badge so so anyway i regret i would love to have been in las vegas but i just hope to see you guys all in florida i'll be at
st peter's very quickly after vegas so looking forward to that way by the way mrs bright and i
happened to be down in that area of florida back in may for a family trip we were in indian shores
and we drove down, I think it was about 30 minutes south, down to St. Pete's.
And I'd never been to that area.
So that was cool.
But we checked out the venue because the venue is a hotel that's under new ownership.
So they bought an old hotel that was there and they've been renovating it.
When we were there in May, they weren't done.
They were going to be done by August, I believe.
So they just finished like a month ago.
But it is absolutely gorgeous.
Like the venue out of the
I wasn't inside of the hotel
I think the hotel's a normal hotel
But it had like big pool
Off of the pool
Was a big patio area
With fire pits
Outdoor bar
And then there was a boardwalk
Like a ramp to the beach
And now I get it
When people are talking about the beach there
Because it's like
extremely expansive
White Sand Beach
Gulf sand is awesome.
Yeah, right off of literally the hotel.
So if you're at the hotel,
it's like Cocoa Beach,
but a 10 times better beach, I would say.
It's going to be fun.
We were walking around.
On the better side of the state.
That's why.
Yeah.
We were walking around on the outside.
Sorry, Zach.
It's all right.
It's all right.
I just didn't want to deal with all the hurricanes.
Each wise, you know, I'm right.
I know you're right.
I know you're right.
Better shells there too.
Anyway, it'll be fine.
It'll be fun and good good timing.
I am hoping to have the whole Bright clan there so that Toddler Bright can run through the sand to his heart's content.
Good stuff.
All right.
Okay, you have another video?
No, no, no, just another picture of me in a sword and sorcery epic.
This is me and the cover for the new Game of Thrones, which hasn't come out and probably will never be released.
But Jim's doing well for you.
Yeah, it sure is, man.
I know, right?
Hardly even...
You got puzzles in places. I don't even have places.
I'm hardly juicing anymore, but, you know, this is what happens when you're 50.
You live in a rugged wasteland and wield a broadsword and you're chasing dragons.
Zach, lifting babies.
Zach, you are, you have a high enough power level when it comes to pop culture.
Yes.
These other flea-bitten savages don't understand.
That movie poster immediately reminded me of a movie from long ago, but still within our lifetimes, that I loved and used to watch with my older cousin every month that is considered I learned as an adult a bad movie.
But I do not think it's a bad movie.
Beastmaster?
No.
Conan the Barbarian.
I'll give you a hint.
I'll give you a hint.
It's very reminiscent of the poster.
You just share it.
Okay.
It is from the 90s.
Oh, you're from
Matthew McConaughey.
Yes, yes.
Oh, yeah.
That's a great movie.
Yeah, I can remember the name.
Bad movie.
Yes.
Yeah.
I think that rain of fire.
Rain of fire.
Yeah. Christian Bail and Matthew McConaughey.
Yeah.
Rain like rule.
Yeah.
Rain like a king.
Yeah.
Rain of fire.
And it's about medieval dudes battling dragons.
It's a good movie.
It's awesome.
It's like dragons wake up in the future.
and it's like modern-day weapons.
Right, right.
Yeah, it's not set in the,
it's set in like the future.
And so it's kind of a, it's like a,
it's like a steampunk, but with medieval times.
Oh, well, you know what?
I forgot that, John, because they're like,
Matthew McConaughey is charging it with an axe at one point.
Right.
Yeah, they're like living feudal in the future.
Oh, yeah.
I was a child.
I was a child.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was before the, uh, the term is the
McConaissance.
when he designed.
Yeah, it was before the real actors.
Oh, after, uh, what is that?
How dare you?
He was great in rain of fire.
He's entertaining.
Yeah.
Based and confused.
Is that what you're talking about, Zach?
No, I was trying to think about the one where he played a cop.
Uh, true detective.
No, no, no, something Joe.
Is it a Grish?
Oh, that's a great movie.
It is a great movie.
It's funny too.
Uh, man.
It's not a lot.
Murder Joe.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
God damn it.
I know.
I can't think of it either,
but it's one of my favorite movies.
It has a-
it has that girl in it.
It's like a Bill Friedkin movie or something.
Joe.
Dirt.
No, but it's kind of like that.
Versus the volcano.
Oh,
that's a,
killer Joe.
Killer Joe.
Yes,
Killer Joe.
Killer Joe.
It's good.
It's so good.
That was before the McConnell.
I think that like,
like that kick started it, though, you know.
Yeah, yeah, then of course mud
Mud was good that was that Tom Holland was in that I believe
He was he was yeah yeah
He got bit by the snake
The spider he became spider man
The snake didn't take so he found a spider
A guilty pleasure man to Conahey movie
That's just absolutely trash but it's like one of those ones I put on every once in a while
Just because you want to like I don't walk through the trailer park is a Sahara
That is such a terrible
That did not get the credited to serve.
Just like Hidalgo.
Oh, yeah.
Well, no, this Hidago is trying to be serious.
Like, Sahara is just like absolutely, it's like swashbucklingly stupidly fun.
Yeah.
Like there's just kind of.
We need that back though.
You know, man, we didn't know how good we had it.
I agree.
We were thinking rain of fire was trash.
And if rain of fire came out now, these zoomer like little alpha boy, like retards.
they'd be like, oh my God, this is so based, man.
White guys, just fighting dragons.
Like, yeah, that's all we needed.
And there was always a black guy.
We always gave him a roll.
Yeah.
By the way, like Blade was amazing.
Oh my God.
Blade is so good.
Blade is so good.
So good.
Is a fucking monster in Blade.
Blade two is excellent.
Yeah, Blade two is great.
Blade three kind of jumped the shark.
Ryan Reynolds ruined it.
But he did.
You know that the new blade with
Mahershal Ali is like officially dead now.
DOA.
Which means that the,
there's only ever going to be one blade from Deadpool and Molyne.
That line has come to pass.
It's great.
I've also heard a rumor that,
oh God,
some character,
oh yes,
that Grant Guston might be coming back into the DCU
as the flash of the new DCU.
Really?
Yes, yes.
James Guns fucking all that up.
Well, I mean, I think that this is actually, that this is a crazy move, but I think that, uh, Grant Guston was great as the flash. I mean, he was basically the only reason that I watched it as long as I did and they totally messed up.
I didn't take the bait on lanterns because I knew Damon Lindelof was involved and I heard that episode one was good and then people got got it right up the ass, didn't they, Zach?
They sure did, but I'm still watching it and, um, I have a Hal Jordan Stan. Okay.
I was Hal Jordan's the goat.
Oh, I love Greenland.
I think that it's the the it's I think that it's there's a possibility that they might be able to like
swir they'll do a reverse swerve they're swerving because I don't want to I don't want to start with parallax Zach no no no you
read the silver age but I think they're trying to start with parallax you can't do that no no no no I think they are setting it up for parallax but like they
haven't brought in any of the other colored lanterns but yeah I think that the title of the show is a
Black lanterns?
Yeah.
Not yet.
They have black lanterns, red lanterns, yellow lanterns.
They got the whole.
And black green lanterns.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All spectrum.
That's what I said.
But yes, but the...
Have you read Blackest Nightzac?
No, I've never read it.
Oh my God.
I have it.
I'll give you the graphic novel.
Okay.
Sweet, I'll be down for it.
I'd love it.
It's incredible.
Yeah.
But the, I'm familiar with the story, but I just never read it.
But the thing about it is that the, the storyline that they gave to John
Stewart's family and like the way that they changed his origin. It was meant to be this commentary
on race in America. And all it did was make his parents look like psychopaths. Yeah, John Stewart's
a great character in the comic books and in the animated series. And this is the problem
when everyone thinks it's me being racist. It's like that's just a skill. Okay. That's not what
goes into my opinions. The John Stewart's a great character. Blades a great character. These new
woke white writers make the black characters bad characters in order to sabotage the white characters.
Like Sam Wilson in the MCU, Anthony Mackey is a good actor with a lot of charisma, and Sam Wilson
is a great supporting character.
As Falcon.
That's exactly what he is.
Putting him as Captain America was setting him up to fail and, you know, has probably given him
a lot of justifiably negative feelings on him.
And also they should have recast Chadwick Bozeman because not recasting him was a huge discredit to the black American community because the Black Panther character is actually awesome.
And instead, they made it a black women.
And the only archetype on this planet that every other archetype hates is black women.
So like, it's the one thing you can't do right now.
Speaking of that, going back to the Lindsay Clancy thing, I have it.
early enjoying.
Oh, the black guy, right?
Oh, my God.
This has got to be a sirep.
This whole thing is fake.
What is so great for me about this is like what he was actually thinking and how all of those
people on the internet were like, this Patriot stood in the gap because he refused to let
Lindsay Clancy get.
People stepped in it so hard.
They stepped in it way hard.
And like on all sides, because the left was like, this cis white man obviously doesn't
know what it's like to be a woman.
And okay, anyways, go ahead and play it.
I'm curious about the jurors themselves
because we know it was nine women, three men.
What was the age range?
What was the racial makeup?
I haven't heard any of that.
What was it?
70-ish to 22.
And one person of color and then everybody else was white.
A lot of the jurors had children.
Uh-huh.
One person of color was a person of color, a woman or a man?
A man.
A man.
Is a holdout juror a person of a black man?
Yes.
A black man is a holdout juror?
Yes.
I have to sit with that for just a second.
Why?
What do you have to do with?
What the fuck do you have to sit with it?
Badlands viewers will know that I have been saying since 2022, they will come
for the black men next
because black men
are significantly more racist
than white men,
gloriously so, and
significantly more sexist
than white men.
And they can run really fast
and are good at sports.
They're usually running from us.
So,
let's not get too big
for our bridges, right? We'll keep you in line.
But for now, we have
a common enemy, and it's women,
and the blacks, but black women.
And I've extended this olive branch to black men four years ago.
It still stands, but it's threadbare right now.
So we can get on board.
We can clean all this up.
We don't want the Pajit's taken over, right?
So I think, you know, nobody wants to watch a Marvel movie starring a Chinaman.
Simu Liu found that out.
But even white guys will watch Marvel movies
starring black guys.
What's really ironic is that even the
Chinese that they were trying to appeal to
they didn't want to watch Simuloo
they said he was ugly. They said he was ugly.
They said he was ugly. It burned him. They didn't want
anything to do with him.
Although they do put masks on all
the black actors on Chinese posters.
Oh God, I know. It's completely
edited Black Panther out.
They're honest. Yeah. Yeah.
They're like, we don't want to see that shit. We just want to go see a
we just want to go see a month. They're like,
we don't want to like glorify
criminality on our movie posters or ghosts they for some reason they hate ghosts I don't know what
that's about Chadwick boseman ghost criminal okay let's wrap it up
do the dude yeah sacks right guys have discussed movie history wrap it all up I don't see
any recent boosts for only lands but we do have some rumble rants
Keith O'Higgins says,
Wowzac, quantum entanglement box.
That was my nickname for my ex-wife's vagina.
Keep it up, Keith.
Keep going.
Principle of Enigma, we need Soma and the Ascension Machine
from Logan's run for illegal aliens.
There we go.
All of the illegals look at their palms
and they're flashing red suddenly.
God made the non-lights fast.
for a reason you can't run and uh you know anyway go further down that principle
enigma again ash i'm amazed at well how well you put up with all the testosterone key fact i
basically live in a frat house so it's been of my my base normal um rave daddy if you ever donated
blood the blood could be in someone's boner right now until we meet again
Well, that's a thought for the evening.
That's the benefit of having lived in Africa.
They don't want me to donate one.
That's amazing.
I never thought of it that way.
I can't wait until somebody hits me up to donate at a blend mobile.
That's going to be my excuse.
I am sorry.
I'm not ending up in the tip of someone's boner, okay?
Yeah.
Matt, Mr. Fuggs, baby, that rhino just sold at auction a couple of months.
for 40 G's the face venture Rino I would have got I would have bought that that seems
reasonable I want to take it a line out I mean you could have got a minivan these
day where would you keep it though be could I um could I actually have 500 bucks for a new
microphone but you have 40 Gs for a right now what I would need to know is does it
actually have like the mechanical control center set within it or was that a separate
movie set that was a different that had to been this they probably
Probably had two multiple rhinos.
One was an animatronic for the front,
and then one was just the latex bottom for Ace Ventura to come out with.
Yeah, but remember how he was inside of it,
and it was like being in a submarine where it had all these,
uh, animatronic components, like a command center.
That would have probably been a third piece.
I'll find the clip.
Yeah.
Okay.
Because I won't buy it for 40 grand if it's just the rhino.
I need the command center.
I think it's basically paying 40 grand for the,
pleasure of climbing out of a rhino's asshole and no reasonable not unreasonable but you know still not what i
want and also knowing that jim carey did that naked he's the goat man zbm jtriot got a question my husband
has a herniated disc he believes in his back and he got a muscle relaxress from the doc to help
but would a chiropractor appointment help his issue love all y'all that
That all depends.
I know that's not a good answer, but I would need to know how bad is the herniated
disc, is it hitting a nerve, is it causing any kind of weakness or tingling numbness?
Did anything Burning Bright said tonight?
Strike home.
Yes.
No, it's certainly worth looking into, like as Burning Bright said earlier, you should
always go with conservative care before you rush into like surgery, but there are, you know,
more diagnostic things that you would need to kind of know.
know before I could say like it's absolutely a chiropractic case.
But it sounds like it would definitely be something that you want to look into.
Before I thought there was only like a 20% chance that I was dying the other day.
I started thinking about can Mrs. Bright access my Bitcoin and I had the realization that
I was like I don't think she can.
So that's at least been a good realization.
I need to I need to figure that out.
I just added Lisa as I just added Lisa as like the
recipient of my financials if something was going to die you can set that up so that you
probably want to give her your seed phrase just to be yeah you know well she knows the seed phrase
but i'm like i gotta make sure she doesn't do something stupid with it she's a whoopin no that's a
movie right there i went to me even marcus i went to what should i do with my seed phrase dot com
and it uh didn't enter it here my son just woke up we will help you
You, Susie Q20. I entered a travel show drawing and won the grand prize anywhere in the continental United States. I chose Boston. Go off the beaten path, went to a little place called Danvers.
Familiar with Danvers. Yeah, I was saying in the chat earlier, Boston is awesome. It is gay. They have taken, my wife and I say, they go after the best places. That's what they have subverted.
first california i've heard is cool um but yeah boston owners buried in in boston so that's boston
is it's a beautiful place it is a beautiful city uh most of the people who don't live in the city are uh
cool uh even the ones that vote blue i've always said that they're like the most sciop blue voters
they don't even you you you would never know going to a family cook out of mind that my
irish uncles were not all die hard trump guys based on the way
they talk. They're just
sci-op, their union guys, which
you were talking about earlier. But yeah,
the city, I would also say that
like my parents tell me
that in the 80s, Boston was pretty
dirty, the Charles River was nasty.
So in terms of
like rehabilitation projects,
the city is gorgeous now.
It's got a ton of history.
So I'm telling you, I'm not just pumping it up.
I'm not even a city person.
And if you're going to
check out a city in the U.S., you have not
checked out, go to Boston in the spring, the summer, or the fall.
It is an awesome place to walk around.
Great food.
Great, uh, great, uh, great area.
So I will second that as a non-Bostonian coming from the West Coast.
I spent a lot of time there.
A friend of mine's kid was the starting quarterback for Boston College for four years.
So we went to a ton of his games.
And every time I went, it was, he was friends with him.
No, he was after him later, later than that.
Um, it's all I could say his name.
I mean, doesn't know, it was Chase Redding.
And not good, not good years for BC football.
They did go to one bowl game.
He played against Colin Kaepernick in his bowl game, which was interesting.
But anyways, long story short, it is a great city.
It's walkable.
It's like the freedom trail, like all the history there.
You know, as a West Coast guy, like we don't have that kind of history.
I've always been fascinating with, you know, obviously there's a lot of our audiences with
the founding fathers and all that.
And it's all like right there.
It's amazing.
Well, as much as I hate the Prussian public education system,
which by the way started in my hometown.
The first Prussian public school was in my hometown
where they took the children from the people of my town
and put them into the school system.
Besides all that, I grew up in this area
just because kids just think that their world is the whole world,
thinking that everybody in the country was like,
oh yeah, you can go over to like this founding father's house.
But then as I got older,
I understood why my dad was like,
like you know it's actually kind of cool that you can just like walk around where all this stuff was
and a lot of places in the country are not are not like that yeah I mean the one thing I'll say about
the Southwest is that you have a history that predates Boston by yeah but isn't it like not even white
people though well sure yeah yeah it doesn't count we're talking about history here not you know
okay Keith O Higgins jonathan
Jonathan Fierre required right.
You had me a spooner.
Yeah.
All right.
I feel like that's
underwhelming, Keith.
We should really up your game
a little more.
Susie Q20.
So what's y'all's thoughts on the mirror
they're shooting off into space
before the end of the year?
I don't know anything about that.
This will end the flatterth debate.
Defend of me.
It's not.
Is that what is?
its war is primarily to end the flat earth debate.
We're going to put a giant mirror in space.
And argue with that.
We'll know it's real because it will be an internet video.
Well, how can you argue with that?
Yep.
Oh, boom, diggedy for $100.
Thank you so much for making the show worth it.
Great show.
Thanks for the many laughs this evening.
I feel like this was a, we were better oriented for what only land is.
No Harold.
I mean, you know, it was a trend.
Also.
We didn't get all serious about fucking Russia and China.
Yeah, that's true.
I will say, too, Boston is currently trash, though, because a woman is the governor, who is the worst.
We're killing our kids in basements with exercise bans.
And our mayor is an Asian female.
So we are currently going through a humiliation ritual.
And, you know, it is what it is.
So I might just have to become governor, which I am not as far from as people might
think actually know a good amount of people in the area the only thing that's been stopping me
is the fear of immediate assassination but uh you know we'll see i think it's only a matter of time before
brianna gets indicted brianna wu isn't that the name of boston oh yeah yeah i mean they've
been sniffing around that for a while they have so yeah so hopefully she goes she goes the way by my
mayor went put her on the railroad put her on the california
Hell Road.
Send her out here.
Put her in Santa Nita concentration camp.
We'll be all good.
Yeah.
Okay.
Raive Daddy 523.
Did CBS Good Morning just play Guess Who Live on Air?
L.O.L.
Yeah.
Does she have glasses?
Is there an Afro?
Yes.
And then GFontas 119.
Jonathan, if I apply at your old job, can I use you as a reference or even a referral?
Apparently that was an appealing description of your work.
of your workplace.
I would say that G.
Fonte seems like a genuinely nice person,
and I would never wish that place
on my worst enemies.
Yeah, and all those jobs
probably automated away soon.
It sounds like the way they thought of you there, Jonathan.
I'm not sure your referral would get him very...
No, especially because the plant manager
who was a female,
was brought in a few years ago
to help with the transition
and took a hundred
year old plant that was running sort of okay and it just like precipitously dropped off under her
wonderful decision making. We would have long conversations and they usually would end with her saying,
well, I appreciate your honesty. And then she was talking with another operator a while back
and my name came up and she's like, you know, he's not wrong. It's just that his delivery is
not that great. And so then that became the joke that I'm not de journo, I'm delivery. I'm delivery
or however that free
it's like it's not DeJurna's delivery
so I'm not not DeZurano
I'm you know it's my delivery
but it was like
this is amazing like this is exactly what you get
when you put a
no offense a woman in charge
where you have a multi-billion dollar
facility
no offense taken John
yeah
multi-billion dollar facility
that you're literally willing
to run into the ground
because you don't want to do
what you admit is the right thing to do
but because the way the guy said it
yeah I mean
That's literally what the circumstance was like, I can't stay here.
So anyway.
All right.
Well, that is.
Don't apply.
She tries to move on from this.
That's the show that we have for you this evening.
You can find Burning Bray and I tomorrow morning 10 a.m.
Eastern time on the substack for the Blitz.
We recorded it this morning.
I think we got through two topics.
But we sort of touched on a lot of the stories and the brief as we,
and we brought them back around.
I do immediately escalate and start a flame war at the start of the show against Jim Hoffton the gateway pundit.
But besides that.
No, they had it coming.
Did you guys see how many people shamed the truth community today from within the truth community about questioning the official narrative of 9-11?
No, I wasn't paying attention.
It was quite a few.
