Starting point is 00:01:06 may know her from instagram and the pizza queen herself joined us page hathaway and honestly guys this was one of the most fun times i've ever had recording i was a little bit nervous to meet page i'm not gonna lie uh such a big personality on instagram with over 30 million followers but the second she walked in the door i felt like we've been best friends our entire life. And we were joking. We were laughing. She shared great insight on her life in general, the business side of what she does, and just simply how to be successful and build a successful brand for yourself. Starting point is 00:02:39 We're back at Ryan's pad, sitting down with the famous infamous page Hathaway. That's a really good intro. I try I try so we're just chatting a little bit but we'll let you introduce yourself to our listeners quick little intro and then we'll take it from there. Well hi I'm Paige Hathaway the famous the infamous. That's your new Instagram bio right there i'm gonna change it i feel strong about it it's good some of you guys don't know but i met page a long time ago um not a long time ago a year ago longer right is it more than a year yeah maybe two years ago now um and since then i'll send her a text message and I'll get a response about a month later.
Starting point is 00:03:27 I'm so bad at that. Everyone that texts me is probably like, yep, me too, buddy. Yep, me too. So let's just first talk about who you are. I think most of you guys out there, at some point, if you own an Instagram account and you do anything that is fitness related on your explore page at some point you're probably going to see page so beyond that she also has a lot of other stuff going on and i want you guys to let you talk about that yeah so i mean i have a lot going on i don't even know where to start but um i mean maybe a lot of you guys know that i do run my own fitness business i started like
Starting point is 00:04:04 a fitness challenge. It kind of like started the trend of fitness challenges about five years ago. Um, so that's like my number one thing that I have. Do you feel like you're like one of the first ones to do that? Yeah. Um, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Yeah. So it's kind of cool because a lot of people do that now. Um, so I do that. And then I also have a subscription website. I wanted to make something that was super affordable for everyone. So moms, students, everything. It's pretty cheap.
Starting point is 00:04:30 It's five bucks. So it's like subscribing to a magazine. So I have that. Let alone I have like endorsements. I do appearances all the time. I go to Body Power and Olympia. And I do all the major expos. I have a lot going on. It's pretty crazy. I don't know and I do all the major expos I have a lot going on it's pretty crazy
Starting point is 00:04:46 I don't I don't know how I do it sometimes but um yeah let's talk about like what a typical work week looks like um you know it kind of varies a lot of people are like oh what do you do you know you post pictures on social media like rough life yeah but I know you're traveling all the time I always see you're somewhere yeah it. It's way beyond that. I mean, let alone Instagram is like having a full-time job. Content for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook. But then there's content for the website. There's, you know, stuff with Fit in 5.
Starting point is 00:05:19 There's content for endorsements that I do, for sponsors that I have. Appearances for all those. Appearances for like, you know, it it just the list goes on and on and on so do you feel like you don't have a lot of time for yourself um yeah you know that's something that I've always struggled with um is kind of taking time for myself but I am getting better at that I'm getting better that's gonna be my question too do you have any rules for yourself as far as like phone and emails and computers? Like do you like unplug anywhere where you're like, okay, I'm going to take this hour and just completely do nothing?
Starting point is 00:05:52 I do. And it's so relieving when I don't answer my phone in those few hours. But then when I get it back, I'm like, ah, yeah, that's why you don't get a text back for a while. So yeah, that's why you don't get a text back for a while. So, yeah, that's cool because I've been thinking about that too. Ryan and I have been talking a lot about doing like a mental health type podcast too, because everyone is so addicted to their phones. That would be amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:19 I mean, I feel like the new generation, so many people are trying to build businesses online businesses what was that they're trying to build businesses online or they're just kind of sucked into social media you know so i think that would be amazing i'm like a victim to that as well you know it is hard to put down your phone so i i would definitely listen to that yeah we had ashley on from buff bake a couple weeks ago too and we were talking about kind of like some instagram strategies and how instagram is a great tool if you can use it yeah the right way but it's also extremely addictive and you can just like kind of get sucked into just wasting time definitely and it's crazy how that happens because 30 minutes of
Starting point is 00:07:03 that turns into two hours of that and you're like wow i just wasted two hours of my life and i have nothing accomplished you know what's really hard for me is my mom sometimes will be like someone commented on something and you didn't comment back or or your sister just had this great thing happen and oh right and i'm like, I literally go on. I post for my gym. I post for myself. I make a story.
Starting point is 00:07:29 I do this. I do that. Yeah. I make something separate for Facebook. And by the time I go on Instagram, the last thing I even look at is any of my stuff. Yeah. Right. And then sometimes you lose stuff. I can't imagine what it's like when you have millions.
Starting point is 00:07:42 But if someone comments, I mean, you have to literally literally go into the comments and look because you're not going to go into your feed and see it. Right. Right. I know my friends are like, I tagged you in that thing. And I was like, what? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:53 And even Ryan gets that sometimes where I tag him and stuff and he's like, yeah, I haven't seen that. Definitely not going to see that. Yeah. And mine's like a hundred. Yeah. I was going to tag you a little yodel kid today. It's like my fucking favorite thing that's going.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Have you guys seen this? No, okay like yodeling in oh Yeah Now everyone is like turning it into like other videos. Yeah, the remix for sure. Oh my god There's like people like dancing to it now and I just can you do that? I do. I can't yodel. I can play the ukulele. Oh, come on. I'll do the ukulele later. You thought about doing it. For sure. Give us a go. Give it a go.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Oh, my God. I don't even know. Well, he's German, so it's going to be a German. I'm German, so it's kind of like, hallelujah. Wow, that was actually pretty good for your first try. Hopefully I made my grandpa proud of that. Not bad. Not bad.
Starting point is 00:08:43 I know you had a question. You might have just lost your green card I'm just too German too German crossing off the list everyone tuned out
Starting point is 00:08:52 of this like podcast right now oh 100% they're gone oh my god we like we discriminated so many people
Starting point is 00:08:58 in the last one we lost everybody we lost Jewish people we lost so for the 10 people that are still here thanks so much guys we appreciate it
Starting point is 00:09:07 I know you had a couple questions about like Paige being famous and people sliding into her DMs oh my gosh oh yeah
Starting point is 00:09:13 so I really want to just keep everyone attention right now so I had a question yeah that I shot with Yannick here
Starting point is 00:09:21 and I was like let's ask her what the five most offensive things that have happened to you are because it's gotta be like in the dms all the time either either dms or like even in person because like i remember being friends with with john and natalie and they actually had someone who was like like wanted to kill her one time oh my gosh she was at a wrestling match and like this guy had like either a gun or a knife and it was like what for those of you guys who don't know what i'm talking about natalie um she used to be
Starting point is 00:09:50 it's natalie eve marie she used to she was a wwe wrestler and she used to be on the same supplement team as as page here and her husband john uh both friends of mine and they have crazy stories of things that happened to Natalie. Another pretty big Instagram famous model. Also really pretty, so you'll know people get the creep on. That's crazy. So let's talk about some things that have happened with you. You know, recently I had a really crazy thing. This, I hope he's not listening. He's pretty sure he's not listening he's pretty listening this like 60 year old man okay 60 he's already 60 so that's already um so arnold weekend that
Starting point is 00:10:37 just passed not too long ago he drove down to the arnold from new york which was like a 20 hour drive missed me because I had left at like three or four then he drove all the way to my appearance the next day in New York so I went from the Arnold to New York so he went in Ohio Rick yes yeah he drove from New York to Ohio back to New York to just to see me at an appearance he He gets there and he brings me ChapStick and he tries to kiss me. Whoa. And I did the swerve to the right,
Starting point is 00:11:13 swerve to the left, swerve to the right. But as I was swerving, he was swerving the same side. And I was like, this is awkward. A little shuffle. A little shuffle. Wow, so the gift was ChapStick. ChapStick. That's nice.
Starting point is 00:11:24 That's such a nice gesture, though. I mean, if you're going in The little shuffle. Wow, so the gift was chapstick. Chapstick. What a nice, that's like, it's such a nice gesture though. I mean, if you're going in for the kiss. Yeah, 100%. Give her chapstick. Yeah, give her chapstick first. That's the class thing to do.
Starting point is 00:11:33 When you go out on a date, you know, give her chapstick first because we're about to French. I want you to know, this is going to happen. I had no idea that it was going to happen
Starting point is 00:11:39 so he was in line and so I walked past the line and he handed me chapstick. I was like, oh my gosh, how nice. Thank you do i have chapped lips she had that ready too for sure and then when i like you know when i met him he tried to kiss me multiple times oh wow yeah then i was like oh my gosh you know we can't kiss but you know we can
Starting point is 00:12:05 hug and then he was like oh i want to kiss your other cheeks oh wow he said that this guy right yeah he's going for it yeah good for him that's crazy right and then i had an appearance weeks later and he's in texas and he sent me flowers he didn't show up he sent me flowers and He didn't show up. He sent me flowers. And he wrote in the card. How do you know it's him? Because his name.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Oh, okay. He signed it. He said, pretty Paige, I can't wait to see your pretty little nose and your cute little toes. Wow. Holy shit. Can you imagine him crawling into the floor and be like, can you write this on the card? And then her being like, can you repeat that? Oh my God, I didn't even think about that. Can you repeat him calling into the floor and be like, can you write this on the card? And then her being like, can you repeat that? Oh my god, I didn't even think about that.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Can you repeat that, sir? Wow. Like imagine being on the phone and being like, what the fuck did you just say? Your pretty little nose and your cute little toes. Excuse me, sir? I wonder like what was going on in the background. Like when he called, being like Texas Chainsaw Massacre-ish on in the background. Oh yeah, for sure. Or like maybe he was watching like an old school like he was butt naked in a pool of jelly
Starting point is 00:13:09 yeah i don't know so that was pretty weird and that just happened like i think that's recent i said that's weird we'll classify that right no super weird are you saying you do that no i mean you're like i'm still like that's not that weird i'm still in the chapstick move for sure on the next day that's solid yeah so that's that was pretty solid of um weird to me okay is that the top i mean that was the most recent okay so yeah what's the top and that's like in person too like that's for sure creepier i don't know i just feel like that's really creepy because i was in person yeah yeah that is gnarly you get a lot of like weird messages but that's in person like how many dick pics have you gotten today if she deletes i'm gonna start sending you
Starting point is 00:14:02 all my dick pics if she deletes all her dick pics from her phone it gets physically lighter my memory goes like way clearer exactly that's a real thing guys we're not kidding that is a real thing that happens to these girls for sure but that happens to like normal people too like i've had friends who are like not famous and they're just regular girls and they get sent dick pics and the funniest shit to me is that it's like not even like in a conversation or anything like that like they're out of the bars with me and we're all hanging out they haven't talked to this dude in three days and out of nowhere it's just like a dick pic yeah and it's honestly like dude what the fuck do you expect to happen yeah like yeah what do you expect yeah like i don't
Starting point is 00:14:42 just open the phone you're like oh my god i need that right now what you're saying you never got a dick pic oh i get them all the time see half my followers at least half are gay well for some reason they just like i bet you get more than me i actually had a guy send me a video of his butthole because he bleached it oh You're lying. I swear to God. Here's the problem. I didn't read it first, so I watched it. No. And I was like, oh. And then he turned around and I was like, oh. Oh my gosh. What?
Starting point is 00:15:15 So guys, get him too. That's what we should do. We've officially created a new pic, a butthole pic. On the show. You guys have heard it first. If you see a butthole pic. On the show. You guys have heard it first. If you see a butthole pic, that is because of me. We invented that right now. Wow.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Okay. Have you ever had anyone ask you to send them underwear? Yes. That happens a lot, right? I actually get more dirty sneakers. Dirty sneakers? Because people like their feet. Stinky.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Guys want stinky sneakers sent to them. People are so fucking weird to them. The internet just brings them out. That's the problem. You know what I mean? 20 fucking years ago, if you were that weird, you were just sitting in your fucking basement. You were just weird. You just didn't have any friends.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Now you go online and you find a bunch of other people that are just as weird as you. And then if someone makes fun of you, then all of a sudden, like, oh, you're shaming them and you're shaming foot people. And it's like, no, you guys are just fucking weird. Yeah, right? I know another model that... Damn, we just lost foot people, too. I know another model.
Starting point is 00:16:16 You know who the person is. And maybe I'll disclose the name after the show. Okay. But she makes between $80,000 and $100,000 a year sending her underwear to people. Shut up. That's insane. Like, worn underwear? Worn. Sprays a little spray and sends them off.
Starting point is 00:16:34 What kind of spray? Victoria's Secret. Have you ever seen that poop spray on Amazon? I would spray that on it. Poopery. No, no. Actual poop spray. It smells like a fart. Oh, wow. Could you imagine spraying that on it. Poopery? Poop. No, no. Actual poop spray. Oh, it smells like poop. It smells like a fart. Not okay. Could you imagine spraying that on your panties and then
Starting point is 00:16:50 setting it? I would do that. Then you win and win. You make the money and you get the fucking laughs. Unfortunately, that guy is going to be like double turned on now. Oh god, dude. Can we move on? Can we move on? Okay, okay. Well, guys, I assume you know a lot about Paige, so we're just going to get into the nitty-gritty.
Starting point is 00:17:07 All right. We can move on from that now. Thank you. Being super uncomfortable. Okay, now that you guys are hooked, let's talk about Paige's background and how she got to where she is. And let's do some motivating stuff here. Fuck, that's really weird to go into that right now. Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 00:17:24 After the underwear talk. We really have no choice. So do know that i do know that page had other plans um other than being a super famous model uh that required a little bit more school education yeah and i also know that you grew up in a small town yeah i mean i know the whole story oh yeah yeah so my name i'm the six-year-old man yeah i was gonna say at the end but i just couldn't save it no seriously so we're gonna go over your story and um the quick version yeah quick version of it okay cool yeah so i don't know if a lot of people know my background but i definitely wasn't planning on being a fitness model i hate the word fitness model but fitness entrepreneur totally i guess yeah um yeah so i was going to school
Starting point is 00:18:19 i was living in oklahoma uh i kind of bounced back and forth from Minnesota to Oklahoma because my mom and dad were divorced when I was really young. So my mom lived in Minnesota and my dad lived in Oklahoma. So being in Oklahoma, I was going to school, definitely not thinking about doing what I do now. And I don't know, I was just like a really hard worker. I moved out when I was 16 years old and I was completely on my own. I'm kind of like, you know, kind of like,
Starting point is 00:18:49 what do you say? Divorce your parents. Like, you know what I mean? Like kind of like move out on your own and kind of, you know, do your own thing. My mom had like five horses.
Starting point is 00:18:57 I'm there with you. My mom's going to hit me. I'm sorry, mom, but just trying to, just trying to relate with, with, with my people.
Starting point is 00:19:03 I want to say hi to Ryan's mom oh my god my mom's gonna love that okay yeah so I moved out when I was 16 I worked like three jobs I was just going to school and there's a guy that lived in my town that I um was from and he just really saw that because a lot of people when they're you know 18 19 20 they aren't working three jobs going to school and like trying to support themselves they're hey you know hanging out partying like whatever so he was like for forever was like telling me he thought that i could you know be a fitness model and he's like your work work ethic and stuff i think you could go really far and i was just, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:19:45 We live in Oklahoma. There's no fitness modeling here. And were you working out at that time? Were you, like, playing any sports or anything like that? Well, I played sports growing up. But then once the real life set in and, you know, I had to, like, grow up really fast, sports kind of went out the window. Yeah. I feel like I could have went really far with so i played soccer okay cool
Starting point is 00:20:05 but i mean i just couldn't i mean i couldn't do that in in college i had to work you know so real life shit so um yeah he just kind of was really persistent he was like i'm opening a gym he used to cut hair he was like i'm opening a gym i'll train you for free to do a bikini show and i looked up a bikini show and i was like, walking on stage in a bikini just does not sound like it's my thing. But you know, he was super persistent. And at the time, I was in a relationship and me and my boyfriend had broken up. And he had asked me again and I was just like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:20:39 I would have a revenge body. Yeah. Hell yeah. Absolutely. Screw it. I'm going to do it. I love that yeah so i went in and i trained for four or five months for my first show and i just fell in love with it um i was just gonna do
Starting point is 00:20:53 a small show in oklahoma but i was like you know what i love it so much i don't want to do the small show i want to do like the biggest show in the u.s so i did the ronnie coleman i got second which is huge for being an out-of-state competitor, first-time show. And from there, it's kind of like going into a casino, putting something in the slot machine and hitting the jackpot your first time. I was hooked. And then from there, I just kind of began my journey in that. But it's funny because I stopped going to school. I just put everything, all eggs in one basket, into fitness fitness i started personal training i just just shifted my life completely so then when when did you shift more from doing
Starting point is 00:21:31 the bikini shows and all that stuff more into like instagram and more being like the entrepreneur that you are today yeah so i started my instagram when it first started and which is so huge like we always talk about that i know i remember when it started and i was like i don't really want to get off of facebook right now yeah you know like i had just gotten done with myspace yeah and you put so much effort into making your myspace page that's so fucking cool oh my god i had a song you know what's really funny is my investor in the gym made myspace shut up investor who gave me the money for my gym made MySpace. What?
Starting point is 00:22:05 That's crazy. Wow. He didn't invent it. That guy Tom did. Oh, right. But he... Oh, yeah. Tom was everyone's first friend on MySpace.
Starting point is 00:22:14 That's right. You want to know something funny? So my friend was on Tinder and she matched with Tom. Shut up. Oh, my God. Did she go on a date with him? I told her, I'm like, you should go on a date. She's like, I don't know
Starting point is 00:22:25 I'm scared but yeah it was really him because it links to your Facebook yeah isn't that crazy did she go on a date with him I don't know I have to ask her
Starting point is 00:22:31 but isn't that crazy that Tom's on Tinder that's insane so ladies out there keep swiping yeah that's a really good tip right there I'm going to swipe
Starting point is 00:22:40 until I meet up with Tom let's swipe for two million dollars shut my bleach butthole let's go butthole thing Let's go. Butthole pic. That is so funny. You just nailed the butthole pic.
Starting point is 00:22:51 So good. Right in the hole. All right. Literally. Yeah. Where were we? I'd like that. I'd like that.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You started your Instagram when it first started. God damn it tom stop laughing i'm gonna take my shirt off any second yeah what's happening it's getting hot it's getting hot so yeah i was like i was one of the first fitness i guess people on instagram and that's how it all started posting photos on instagram writing inspirational quotes i just really wanted to you know talk about my passion that i newly found and share it and i had no no idea that it would just become the platform of the future no way i had no idea i was actually trying to get you know got made fun of a little bit like oh there's that girl taking like photos but now it's like normal everyone's taking photos yeah yeah yeah absolutely plus now you have a little bit
Starting point is 00:23:58 of backup so yeah you know yeah you're like well i think i'm doing pretty well yeah right i can i can take a selfie wherever the fuck I want. Yeah. That's a, that actually leads me into like one of my next questions is, well, the more famous you are, the more people that hate on you, right? Right. So I'm sure people write ridiculous comments and this and that. I even had just on my own questions today, someone wrote something and I was like, fuck this guy. And I, I, I blocked him and deleted it and it was just like, I was over it.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Yeah. wrote something and I was like fuck this guy and I I blocked him and deleted it and it was just like I was over it yeah um and that happens to me like a little a little bit here and there right do you like constantly go on there and make sure do you have anyone that helps you that kind of find those things you know get rid of them now that muscularity and and you know female muscularity and female muscularity is more common and popular and socially acceptable, I get it way less. When I first started Instagram and it wasn't as trendy as it is now for a female to have muscle and be like, you know what I mean? Yeah, they were just hating on you for having muscle. So much hate. It was like, why would you do that to yourself?
Starting point is 00:25:10 You've lost your femininity. you don't look like a female like are you a man like just like the craziest things and it toughened my skin so much now i get it way less because it is more socially acceptable, I guess. But, yeah, I mean, with everything, people are not going to like you. People are going to like you. You can't please everyone. And then, I mean, it's unbelievable. Because I remember, like, the downfall of, like, shreds because of that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:38 The one person. Yes. Right? So. Google it. Yes. You'll see. One person, like, ruined it for everybody, right? Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:25:46 And then like you would go on YouTube or something and search something. And then people would be like, they would associate you or other people. And they're like, oh, this person uses Photoshop or whatever. And it's like, I can't believe someone would go that far out of their way to make a video that like has a lot of work into it. Yeah. Just to say that like this is fake or whatever. How do you deal with stuff like that? It's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:26:10 So let, yeah, if I can think of what I would see when that was happening, they would take a, my bikini competition photo from when I first started when I was 24 I'm 30 so six years ago they took a bikini photo a competition photo and put it next to a photo that was now and it was like a photo shoot and then they'd be like photoshop I'm like you're comparing a photo that was six years ago to now like of course it's gonna look different like what that's the whole fucking point of working out exactly and so i was just like how can people even like compare this or they would take a photo screenshot a photo from like snapchat when you're in motion and compare it to a standing a place photo like of course it's going to look different you know what i mean i'm just like the comparisons
Starting point is 00:27:06 of these pictures that were out there was just like how can people in their right mind even like look at this and write a comment i actually loved your reaction though like i don't know if you know like i mean the way that i took your reaction was like you started posting more videos oh yeah i did and you were like this is not a fucking photo shop and you're like in your in your bathroom or whatever and you're like i'm fucking ripped yeah and this is me and whatever and i thought that was super dope it's so insane to me like the society we live in people like grasping on the straws like that you know like i think it's already crazy when people write like a bad yelp review because like if i go to a restaurant i don't like it it's like okay well i don't like it fuck it i'm going right today you know what i mean exactly taking time out of their
Starting point is 00:27:44 day and like posting a dissonance just to like bring bad to other people. Yes. And it's like, why don't you have anything else going on? Right. And you want to know a lot of like reviews and stuff that you see. If you're like a happy customer, you're probably not going to go in there and write a review. But if you're pissed off.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Exactly. You're going to probably be like, oh, I'm going to go write a review. Yeah. So you can't really even like compare that. You know what I mean? A hundred percent. Yeah. And then the good reviews are all
Starting point is 00:28:05 like people that work there yeah you know i'm friends with people that are like that so it's all just skewed yeah so i mean you can't please everyone but when all that happened yeah i started posting more videos i'm gonna be like not photoshopping anything thank you do you go in and read all your comments and like reply to comments? Or how does that process look for you? You know, I try my best. Because I remember a long time ago. So, the girls that I used to look up to six years ago wasn't the Instagram girls because there wasn't really that. It was the girls, like, in magazines. So, it was, like, Chatty Dunmore, Jamie Eason, girls that were in magazines.
Starting point is 00:28:43 And I remember six years ago ago Chatty Dunmore commented to me and it like made my life now we're friends which is crazy but it made my life and I remember that feeling that I had when she did that and it took her 20 seconds and so I'm like I want to give that feeling to other people because I know what that feels like i love that that's my friend hans who actually wrote is would she marry me or whatever and you wrote back lol he actually texted me it was like oh my god my heart skipped a beat yeah he literally was like she wrote me back like it doesn't matter what it was it's just the fact that she wrote me back yeah it's little things like that like even if they just like your comment or something like that that's already like you make someone's day totally Totally. I love that. I love that.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Yeah. It's so cool. At any moment probably. There's a comment right now that you could do that to somebody too. Yeah. That's pretty cool. Yeah. Day me.
Starting point is 00:29:33 So let's talk about social media because people are going to want to know like, I mean, you can't say like how you become so famous or whatever, but like what are like some of your like let's go over like a couple of your top tips for people who are trying to get a little bit more social media exposure or like engagement right or like quality of photos or whatever yes so this is how i grew more at a rapid pace um so one thing that i did to start was I was this girl from Oklahoma. Nobody knew who I was except for the people that followed me on social media. So I did everything that I could in a good brand image to do. I said yes to. So like I would reach out to people and I would do free. Everything was free. I did free interviews, photo shoots, literally free everything was free i did free interviews photo shoots literally free everything that would elevate my brand just to get my brand my name in front of more people i did it for free i did so
Starting point is 00:30:32 much shit for free so much shit like at first like year i didn't make any money i was just doing shit for free so if you are trying to get out there i would definitely recommend get your name out there. Do shit for free. Reach out to people. Do interviews. Do whatever you can to get your name in front of people. And that's for anything.
Starting point is 00:30:51 That's not even just like Instagram fitness models. That's like photographers, like this, that. Whoever you are, just prove yourself first and it will pay off in the long run. Exactly. I love that. So that's one thing that I would definitely recommend. Become like a yes man in a good way. Like obviously don't do free like crazy stuff yeah but whatever that's gonna elevate your brand that you think that might be beneficial do it for free i did a lot of free stuff a lot of people don't
Starting point is 00:31:15 see that they just want to like think that they need to make money right now yeah but you gotta like photographers and videos and stuff like that yes dude you gotta get some good photos first yeah you have to build that brand and to do that you need to shoot people for free reach out to people um if you're a photographer videographer just literally i used to reach out to everybody and like people wouldn't even write me back but guess what some one if one person did i would be excited because that's one person that I could, like, work with, one magazine that I could maybe do an interview for or something like that. So that's one recommendation. I also, like, entered in everything that I could.
Starting point is 00:31:54 I entered in, like, the body space for bodywomb.com. I entered in, like, the Flex magazine had, like, a contest. So I, like, tried to just do stuff like that. That's one of my um best recommendations um what about like your profile do you feel like there's certain things that you've written at times that helped or do you think your profile doesn't even matter because i've seen like superstar people that have like they have like a sentence about themselves and then you have people who have like bullets like like all sorts of stuff. And then like different things like that.
Starting point is 00:32:30 And then like when you're on your story and you have like yours, for instance, is like super clean. Oh, right. You have like a photo of like a pizza and it's like food. Right. And like all your little bubbles that looks like really, really clean. Like, do you feel like because those highlights are all there and the way that you do it you get more engagement do you feel like people need to make their stuff as professional as possible or do you feel like just the rawness of you is better than anything that you'll create i think having a good combination of both i mean obviously you want to be real and raw and that's what's going to be authentic and genuine to your viewers. And that's important.
Starting point is 00:33:08 But definitely want to keep it professional and look clean and nice. And you know what I mean? So it's a mixture of both. I'm always blown away by like a really professional video that I'll get done. We'll have a fifth of the views of like me jumping off my deck into the pool. It's so crazy i know right i've i've actually kind of took a step back and was looking at instagram and how it's it's changed so much the algorithms but like no but even even like people that post like silly stupid shit gets
Starting point is 00:33:40 more views than like knowledgeable actually like i actually have learned something from this stuff yeah it's crazy oh 100 like if you actually have to pay attention to it like yeah people are not gonna like that i always think that just being genuine and raw like you guys were saying like if people can kind of feel that it's a real person and i know you do that a lot too where other people's instagram is just kind of like their highlight reel yeah you know like they go into the gym every single day and pr every single day right and then other people compare themselves to that and it's just impossible to keep up yeah whereas you i think it's a lot more like it feels more human right right right yeah that's one thing
Starting point is 00:34:15 that i do like to do is and that's one thing i've always done is write captions even if like because like you know we're all human like everything's not like peachy keen all the time like i struggle like i've last week i had an actual really shitty week you know what i mean and people should know that because i don't you know i never want someone to look at my page and be like not even like i don't like what's the right word like i don't know like feel bad about themselves because they think that like my life is perfect when it's not yeah absolutely and I think that's a huge issue with Instagram in general you know what I mean people like let's bring up photoshop like people do that people post photoshop pictures people only post like the greatest of the great yes and then people are at home and they're
Starting point is 00:34:57 comparing themselves to them and like the self-worth factor kind of starts playing a big role you know so like something like that absolutely helps a lot yeah i agree i remember i got so mad actually i and i both did i was sponsored by vpx for a little bit and bang energy oh yeah like all these like we were making all these cool videos and like we had like a whole production going like storyline yeah i bought the drones like i bought a drone and like we bought like a couple thousand dollar sony camera and like i spent like like five grand on yeah yeah photocopy i was like let's make some dope videos yeah for sure and then um we made like stories like we like went down to newport beach jumped off these bridges like where like boats were going by and then like it was like a whole movie like it was insane like there's a whole point to then like. It was like a whole movie. It was insane.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Like there was a whole point to it. Like everything was so like thought out. This one time I'm drinking, banging the gym, everything's black and white. And as soon as I, and I'm by myself and I drink it. And as soon as it like hits my mouth, everything's in color and the whole gym's dancing and doing the Harlem Shuffle. And it was like. That is so cool. It was super, super fun. And the best video got like a couple thousand dollars every time it was like a way
Starting point is 00:36:05 for them to make the video really really right right and the video that always won was like some girl like on the beach just like oh my god and i was like this is not real life this is not cool like the camera would zoom in on her butt and like the camera's like sitting on her butt it's like oh my god that story was literally just to show that like the instagram brawl is just like sometimes it's just too much i'm like i don't even want to look at my feed it's crazy but you know what so i actually quit but yeah to be honest you did i was like i don't even care shut up yeah i swear i didn't quit i didn't care about the money i was like i'm done yeah literally like we made all these cool videos you should put on a thong and walk like that down the beach.
Starting point is 00:36:46 For sure. I'll do it right now. With you, Chloe. With a million beers. And someone's going to buy that thong afterwards. Oh, yeah. Well, I'm going to sell it to Paige. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:02 That's hilarious. A little trade-off. But, yeah, I think it's crazy's crazy how like nobody can really figure out like the whole concept of going viral like it's not nobody can like put their thumb on it yet really you know i think you can kind of stack the deck in your favor a little bit right so i i know what ryan was pointing out the little stories that you have you know you're playing along with all the trends like you're always up to date with stuff but at the end of the day i still think there's no real like guarantee for anything no i mean now like you were saying the
Starting point is 00:37:27 algorithm of instagram they've changed it so many times so before another like way that i became you know more popular on instagram is the algorithm had like a popular page back in the day and i used to get on it all the time popular page popular page so that's how they don't have that because they realized that they were making people like insta famous through that so yeah they don't have that but now they've made it extremely difficult to grow extremely difficult yeah well i don't change it back to like actually being chronologically now too like it was for a while it wasn't at all and now it's like going back to that so like we'll see what how much that changes yeah that's super interesting yeah i actually didn't even realize
Starting point is 00:38:09 there was no explore page anymore or i mean there's like some sort of page right when you go on yeah explore page it's different like i think it just shows you like it's related you already follow yeah it's related to people that you follow so it has no like popularity really it's just like stuff that you might like based on who you follow, what you're liking. You know what I mean? Yeah. So I got a question for you, Ryan. We kind of hinted at this earlier a little bit with like how much you're on your phone
Starting point is 00:38:34 and how much you are on email and like all that stuff. Yes. So on top of that, with your job, you're also working out a lot, right? Yes. So you're working out, you got work, you're working out you got work you got free time and then you got friends i'm sure pulling you in all different types of directions like let's go drink let's go have a drink like mimosa let's have some beer let's whatever it is right yeah how do you balance that for yourself that you feel you know your family and your friends are getting enough
Starting point is 00:39:00 of your attention but you're not taking away from business and you're also not taken away from yourself. Yeah. Um, that's tricky. And you're also not weird at the restaurant. Yeah. Because that can happen. It totally happens. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:13 That's tricky. I mean, I, I do try, I don't know if a lot of you guys follow me on my stories and Snapchat, but I do do a game night that I will host at my house or something like every other week. Okay. So that gets like friends together. It is super hard for me to get together with friends. It's really hard. But I try my best to like.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Because you have opportunities, right? Like sometimes I'll pop up and be like, I have to go. Yeah. I would go for sure. Yeah. Where I'm like, ooh, I can like maybe squeeze in something. Right now my friends are like trying to. Because I travel a lot too.
Starting point is 00:39:41 And I've been traveling a lot since I've been the global ambassador for um f45 i've just been traveling a ton and my friends are like we never see you anymore so i try my best to like schedule stuff like that yeah cards against humanity yes yes i have every single one yeah i love that game or i actually thought about pulling it out and playing it playing a set yeah we should we should have next time yeah but yeah so game night I'll try to I'll try to schedule
Starting point is 00:40:07 stuff like that it's very scheduled though I love that though that's cool yeah I'd rather do that anyways though than like go out
Starting point is 00:40:14 to a club you know because it's like more intimate more fun you get to like talk hang out with your friends
Starting point is 00:40:19 totally 100% yeah I agree with that and I mean there's a lot of cool stuff you can do we talk about this stuff
Starting point is 00:40:24 all the time with my friends because you kind of just get over going to the bar. It's like the same stuff. I know somebody... I for sure want to set a game night up right now. Yeah. Dude, somebody was telling me that one of their friends,
Starting point is 00:40:35 they set up like a game night and they did a Jeopardy game night, but he made all the questions about the people that were there. Oh, that's so cool. So like my roommate zach for example it was like what are the three most things that zach talks about and then you like have to like guess it's like that's a good idea the entire game that's a really good idea i know super cool i like that um do you drink do you like cheat eat like do you binge eat like do you have like a favorite dessert like all this stuff so many questions i think everybody knows this
Starting point is 00:41:03 yeah um yeah everyone knows that i love pizza i have a pizza tattoo i was gonna say that yeah so pizza definitely um i do not drink that often i'll have a glass of wine or a beer like but i won't like go out and get like hammered sometimes i'll do like club appearances and that's like the only time that i ever really go out like that and drink but it's fun to let loose every once in a while yeah for sure get drunk like you're 21 i do it rarely yeah every now and then but it's fucking hilarious yeah yeah every now and then i would like to get drunk with you that would be funny my my christmas party for the gym is like usually the one time i really let it rain oh really it is super fun are you an emotional drunk no i'm like super fun like i love everybody
Starting point is 00:41:51 like yeah fucking kiss everybody everybody's getting some love he's honestly just the way he is just like amplified like everything is just like more oh i'm just passionate about fucking everything awesome it's hilarious what kind of drunk are you i'm the guy like i've had a beer every single day this week you have that's awesome i'm german so it's kind of like what i run on oh it's like protein shakes you have beers yeah exactly i love drinking i love drinking so like i we actually had a whole podcast just on drinking yeah what on alcohol now have an hour like going back and forth on it wow you can talk about that now he's like yes yeah no means yes yes means no i was like i'm not taking my underwear off
Starting point is 00:42:34 um so yeah it kind of like i was really super into crossfit um like the last open and i was we talked about stuff all the time so i'm gonna this super short, but trying to get on a team, almost made the team. Then after the Open was over, like got even more into it. I was in the gym like four and a half, five hours every single day, just kind of like a zombie, like going through the motions. Right. And I was like losing friends, losing relationships, not talking to my family. Like there was so much stuff missing.
Starting point is 00:42:59 In bed at 7.30 every single night. Right. Only eating like chicken and broccoli. Like the pendulum was so far to the one side that as soon as i realized actually ryan was a big factor in me realizing that there's no real point right the roi is just not worth it at the end of the day and then the pendulum just kind of like swung super hard the other way oh wow and um just like going out partying like doing all this stuff and now it's kind of getting to the point where it's like in the middle getting to the middle part it's still a little further to the party side
Starting point is 00:43:27 that's really um it's getting there crazy that you say that because i feel like maybe we've all kind of been like that a little bit because when you first get into it like i was like an extremist too but then that's like the thing where you like there you can be unhealthy about being healthy yeah absolutely totally yeah so yeah that's crazy that you say that we should actually go into that because i think that's a really important topic especially for girls out there yeah like trying to be fit and trying to be healthy definitely um so when you i like i let you just explain it when you say like being unhealthy about being healthy what do you mean by that? Yeah. I just mean you can be an extremist in the wrong ways. Like you can be, obviously to be successful at something, you have to have some, some sort of like, I don't know if addiction is
Starting point is 00:44:17 like the right word, but you have to be like consistent, right? You have to be, you have to be kind of addicted to it yeah disciplined um but to be an extreme extremist when you're disciplined where you're saying you're not hanging out with friends family no social life you're not cheating you're on your diet yeah on your diet but yeah you can there definitely is a thing of being unhealthy trying to be healthy i've been there and how did you kind of realize that and how did you get yourself away from that when i was doing fitness shows i did three in total the first one i was fine because i just started getting into it but then the last two became an extremist when it came to it my friends
Starting point is 00:45:05 and family all saw it but they didn't want to say anything to me because I was like super passionate about it and I finally found something that I really wanted to like pursue and they didn't want to like crush my dreams right but as soon as I was done when I was like okay I'm not competing anymore they were like thank god we wanted to tell you this before, but you became obsessed. It was so unhealthy what you were doing. So that was kind of a wake-up call. The biggest thing, though, that you can do, the biggest disservice you can do for your body, you will never look better no matter how much exercise you do,
Starting point is 00:45:44 no matter how much good food you eat, if you have high stress levels. Yes, exactly. how much exercise you do no matter how much good food you eat if you have high stress levels yes so like stress levels are our hormones in our bodies that will literally prevent anything awesome to happen yeah so if you're stressed out all the time because you don't have like if you're in bed at night and you're like fuck i didn't do anything today that was like for me enjoyable that was enjoyable for me right like i didn't talk to any of my friends like i missed my mom like i literally have not had a boyfriend in five years or like whatever. Right. And you're like, oh my God. And then like that stress will, you know, inhibit you from having any of the gains that
Starting point is 00:46:12 you're really looking for. Especially like if you're dieting down for a show. Yeah, that's so true. And you're not talking about this stuff all the time. Like there is such a thing as working out too much. There 100% is. For sure. You can, you get to a certain point and then you're just hurting yourself.
Starting point is 00:46:29 When I, so that whole thing that I was just talking about with like working out too much there 100 is there you can you get to a certain point and then you're just hurting yourself when i so that whole thing that i was just talking about with like working out too much and then switching over all kind of happened as i was transitioning into chalk and starting to coach at chalk um so after the open i started coaching more started working out less and i literally started doing just ryan's programming and just doing an hour a day and kind of lose a little bit more outside the gym. Right. And my body changed for the better. Right. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Like before I was working out five hours a day and then I cut it back by four hours every single day. And just like focusing on the important things. Yes. And I started looking better within weeks. Right. It was incredible. I know.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Same. Crazy. I don't know how that happens. If you're happy, you will. Your body will be happy. Yeah. I agree. It's a true thing.
Starting point is 00:47:05 For sure. Definitely. happens if you're happy you will your body will be happy yeah it's a true thing for sure definitely um so i'm gonna go on to some questions from people okay this one i'm like really i'm really interested in this one oh god just because it was something i used to look forward to all the time on social media oh about you oh so people who follow page and have followed page for a while what happened to lambert oh Oh my God, Lambert. Okay, so he's back in my life. Okay. And I'll just be real and honest. So Lambert, I found him.
Starting point is 00:47:36 I found him in New Jersey when I first started working with him, right? That's where I'm from. So no way. I had no idea. I'm from Thomas over in New Jersey. That's where I'm from. So, no way. I had no idea. I'm from Thomas over in New Jersey. That's crazy. I lived there until I was 18. What?
Starting point is 00:47:49 Oh my gosh, I had no idea. I thought you were like a Cali boy all along. He's a total coot now for sure. That's crazy. Yeah, so I found him in New Jersey. Okay, so he had been hired with Shreds to do video. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, and that's how I first met him we did my first
Starting point is 00:48:07 viral video together with shreds and it got like 500 000 views like back in the day which is amazing yeah what it was um it was just like a motivational workout video you know those ones that girls are in the gym working out lifting weights the music okay like that but it was like five years ago yeah was he being funny or anything at the time? No. I didn't even know he was funny then. I didn't really even know him. It was just like I met him at the gym because he worked with Shreds to do a video. He looks like one of those Buddha dolls. He does.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Oh my gosh. You know what I mean? Like the really laughy face. Like that's what he looks like. Okay. Yeah. Actually, there's a golfer that he looks identical to. I have to show you a picture, but she's a female.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Oh my gosh. And he looks identical just um google asian female golfer and picture will pop up and literally twins separated at birth but i think she's older okay we're doing it which is hard to tell when you're Asian. It's hilarious. What we are looking at right now. Oh, there she is. Which one? The one that looks just like him. Oh my God. Oh my God. Doesn't he look identical?
Starting point is 00:49:11 You don't know Lambert though, huh? Uh-uh. Oh my gosh. He looks exactly like that. He looks identical. We'll put that picture in the description, guys. For sure. I'm so excited for you guys to see it.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Okay. Yeah, so we filmed the first viral video that I ever had. And then he got let go from Shreds. So he worked there a year. So I didn't know him at the time. I didn't know why. I mean, I didn't really know him, so I didn't ask questions. I didn't know.
Starting point is 00:49:34 I didn't even know he got really let go. I just didn't know him. So I was doing a photo shoot in New York, and he lived in New Jersey. And he did free video for this photographer. I didn't even know it. And so I get there to shoot and he's there and I'm like, what are you doing here? And he was like, I'm shooting your video today. And I was like, what? He's like, yeah, just I'm shooting like free video for him. So, you know, so what, after he got let go, he was delivering food for like a meal prep company and then doing free video. Cause he
Starting point is 00:50:00 loved to do it. Um, and I was like, Oh my God, my god that's awesome like how have you been we just you know shot the shit and then i went back to california and he sent me the videos and they were so good and at the time i was really wanting to expand my team bring someone on full time and i was like i don't know i had this like thing i was like you know what i'm just gonna ask him if he'd be interested in moving to california and so i called him up i was like would you like want to move to california and he was like serious seriously and i was like yeah i'll buy you a fly like right now and he was like i'll call you back and he calls back he's like yeah book it and so he came out and i was like just come on see if you want to if you like it right so i flew him out and he was out here for like a week and of course like being from new jersey he was like i love it and because new jersey sucks yeah again sorry mom yeah so he had actually
Starting point is 00:50:53 lived with a crackhead in new jersey oh like a real cool like a real one and so when he went there's some life experience for you for sure so when he went back to new jersey his room got um broken into and all of his stuff like computer stuff equipment was missing oh my god so the the crackhead said someone broke in and made it look like someone broke in but took all of his stuff so he was like that's a sign i need to move. So he moved like the next day to California. We worked together for, and at this time, mind you, Shreds called me and they're like, we heard you're hiring Lambert. And I was like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:36 And they're like, well, we just want to let you know why we let him go because we let him go. And I was like, oh, okay, well, why? And they're like, well, well you know he was a little bit unmotivated and lazy and got kind of complacent so we had to let him go and i was like okay well thanks but i'm not the type of person to if someone tells me something to just take their like you know word i'm gonna be like well i want to find out what they're like another one of those things so too like why would they go out of their way to tell you because i was like the face of the company and they probably just wanted to let me
Starting point is 00:52:06 know like before you hire him like we just want to let you know that he was lazy you know what i mean or something like that it's like a maybe if you were to hire someone nice i would i don't know maybe like i don't know but um so i was like okay cool i'm still gonna hire him you know i'm just gonna like you know find out for myself, you know? So I brought him out here and he worked for me for two, three years. And he was amazing. Amazing. Amazing. In my opinion, from the outside world.
Starting point is 00:52:35 He is an amazing human being, but his work ethic did. Oh, really? Did fall off. At first he was extremely motivated. It was his first, like, real job. It's his first real job. That's what he told me after I let him go. You know, he didn't realize, like, he never worked, like, eight hours a day before places.
Starting point is 00:52:57 Like, that was his first, like, you know, real job. And, you know, he did get a little complacent. I feel like your first real job, like, you need to smash. Yeah. And that was so hard because, like, Lambert was my best friend. And we worked together every day. And he was, he's an amazing human being. Like, he, as a person, he's wonderful.
Starting point is 00:53:18 I have nothing bad to say about him. But the work ethic got a little, you and totally yeah you gotta go at that point so yeah and it was for a long time i like was trying to figure out what to do and so and this is another thing too that i messed up on okay when you hire people right i'm new to this whole like now i have like six people that work on my team becoming friends yeah well everyone's i've realized that everyone is different right everyone needs to be managed differently. Oh, yeah. Right?
Starting point is 00:53:47 So this person might need to be like, yeah, this person might need more like management and this person might work while being self-motivated. So. That's my life of coaches and such. It's pretty bizarre. It's hard to learn. It's like just coaching at the gym, just coaching people. You know, some people you got to yell at.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Some people you got to tell them how awesome they are. Yes. Yeah, I used to, like, every class I'd be like, come to my office. Yeah. Yeah. I'd be like, this happened, this happened, this happened. And then, like, now I don't ever do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:14 So I'm learning as, you know, being a business entrepreneur as well that people need to be managed differently. People need different rules and, like, need to be, like, you know. So I'm self-motivated like and so my mentality is like people should be self-motivated but they're not like that's why you know yeah so I didn't give him like rules and like guidelines of how things should be and I just like thought you know self-motivation so i should have i learned this i should have started that yeah like kind of built like you know when you go into a new job you have like rules and like it's really hard to do it later on yes and that's
Starting point is 00:54:55 what i learned yeah so you know we took you know six months apart but you know we're back hanging out and like it's like things never even left and you know it's it's so much better now that we're just friends and not working together so much better i was telling him about lambert before you got here because i was like oh let me tell you a little bit about page and um i was like this we're gonna ask i'm gonna ask her i'm gonna ask her this question about lambert yeah and like this guy's like he was super funny like they were always together and they had like this little duo going on yeah and i was like they used to make the funniest youtube videos i was like he's like he's like like what and i was like well this one page was like going in circles with a
Starting point is 00:55:34 baseball bat and then like trying to drink a glass of champagne yeah yeah yeah and like you're falling all over the place and i was like oh that's so like it was so funny we just um we got together and filmed it i I'm doing YouTube again. And we filmed another YouTube video last week. So he's going to be back. It's pretty funny. We watched a bunch of our old videos because they're hilarious. So the video is of you guys watching old videos?
Starting point is 00:55:59 Yeah, but we put goat milk in our mouth and we had to face each other. And we couldn't laugh. My kitchen was ruined. It was just hilarious. It was so funny. I don't know if you've heard it. So you couldn't laugh with the milk in your mouth.
Starting point is 00:56:13 Wow. And it was goat's milk, which had this like taste. How do you even come up with that? I have no, we just, I don't know. And then like if you lost, you had to eat like barf jelly beans and stuff. Yeah. I like it. Game night. Awesome idea. and stuff. Yeah. I like it. Game night.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Game night for sure. 100%. I'm writing all this down. I literally have learned so much about how to have friends. Yeah. No, I did miss him. Like I used to never have to do crunches until the day he left because we laughed all the time yeah oh yeah like hysterically i miss him uh we do a book
Starting point is 00:56:51 recommendation usually too from our guests so if you want to go ahead and jump in there that's tough um and you can do a couple too if you can't decide yeah what is i have to look this up because i just got a new book that i'm like obsessed with but i let me look up who the author is what is my password and then we still have questions from listeners too right yeah yeah i just have a few let's see what we have um actually one of the girls asked me with women with breast implants oh yeah like how does working out affect that because like i well i don't know if i should say this or not yeah like my girlfriend has breast implants and she kind of messed them up pretty good from no way yeah so they're like a little bit weird shut up but other like her sisters have um breast implants as well and they just like never bench so like if they go to a gym
Starting point is 00:57:52 and like benches on the thing they're just like and same thing with all the resting or something whenever i'm coaching and there's benching in the program all the girls come to me they're asking like what can we do instead of bench yeah no way i do chest you do and i always train chest because i feel like if you don't you're gonna have like an imbalance of like chest and back yeah and you can totally get headaches yeah and you could definitely get injured so i've always changed train chest but i don't like do chest by itself like yeah i don't do like a whole day of chest um but i definitely work in chest every single week. And I do everything.
Starting point is 00:58:27 Bench, dumbbell, press, flies. Yeah, there you go, ladies. Cables. Okay. Yeah. And how long did you wait until after to do stuff like that? Did you wait a long time? Yeah, so it's kind of crazy.
Starting point is 00:58:37 I went public with getting my breast augmentation. It's, like, so normal now. Yeah, it's normal. But, you know, people just think, like, oh, my God, surgery or whatever. You know what I mean? They just, I don't know. It's like so normal now. Yeah, it's normal. But, you know, people just think like, oh my God, surgery or whatever, you know what I mean? They just, I don't know. It's so weird. But, uh, yeah, so I had to wait a month before I could train upper body.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Which, I mean, that sounds fair. After any surgery, I feel like. Yeah. You know, it takes a little bit of time. But I, I, I mean, I, I've never had any issues with it. Like, that's not why, like, I, you know it takes take a little bit of time but i i i mean i i've never had any issues with it like that's not why like i you know what i mean like so i don't know um did you figure out your book oh shoot no sorry no but it's so good it's like um oh i've just been like just enabled in it but like um i've been doing you know like cardio or something i'll do cardio
Starting point is 00:59:25 and i'll only be there for like 30 minutes planning on it and then i'll do an hour because the book is so good but it's about just like how it's about social media and how people can like wear a mask on social media okay and be like one person on social media and another person behind closed doors and how you know hold on let me let me find the name i actually like the whole premise behind that because that is like what people need to know there's so many people out there that have this um persona that is really not realistic yeah yeah but um well i feel like that's exhausting for yourself like if i'm trying to become somebody on instagram right and i'm like have two different personalities this entire time I'd definitely be fucking super exhausting to keep that up all the time instead of just being yourself and just being
Starting point is 01:00:09 naturally who you are on your social media as well it's crazy I think that's got to be hard to live a completely fake life yeah but um while Paige is looking for her book recommendation my phone's about to die so I texted you the profile of the guy who did the book so you can look it up so my phone doesn't die in the midst of it okay so the guy who uh created this book his name is alex carnero carnero carnero so his uh ig is a l e x c a r n e. He's a trainer and nutritionist, and he is from Denver. Fitting in the Mask of Health is the book. Fitting in the Mask of Health. It is so good.
Starting point is 01:00:54 And it's a short read. So for all those people out there, that might be a little like, it's really good. It's to the point. It's written amazing. It's so good. And I think for it's written amazing like it's so good and i think for our generation like that's perfect yeah it's really good all right um i know you're working a lot of stuff like you had some um stuff that you brought up at the beginning of the book is there
Starting point is 01:01:17 anything that you want to talk about right now stuff that you're coming out with anything exciting that people can look forward to yeah so i have a lot of exciting stuff that i have to keep more under the radar until it you know i'm not one to like talk about stuff until it's happening because you know you never know who knows what's gonna happen if things are gonna fall through or whatever so i'm not like a talk about i'm like a be about it type of person but she just made a gang sign totally missed it oklahoma streets are fucking ruthless i mean it was both hands he looked at me like what is she doing i blacked out twice during this episode the second time so i have like um supplements and like a whole company that i'm building but let's wait until it
Starting point is 01:02:05 comes out. Maybe I can come back when that's happening in a few months. And then, yeah, I mean, like I said before, my main thing is the Fit in 5. And the Fit in 5 is a five-week challenge where I give out $10,000 to the winners. And the whole reason that I did that was from moving from personal training to online training people that online train and i would be the same way it's hard to keep yourself accountable it's so hard you don't see a trainer every day you're just doing it on your own you know so i was like how can i keep people accountable and that's when i started giving away prize money
Starting point is 01:02:42 but it's really cool because um because people stay so accountable on the plane because they want to win the money they see results and then that keeps them more accountable throughout past the five weeks you know because yeah we do that in my gym actually now no way we do one like like every other month oh yeah yeah and I change it every time so So, like, our last one was a macro challenge. This new one is a fasting challenge. No way. That's a good idea to change it up. And then we're going to do, like, a keto one and, like, a bunch of other ones.
Starting point is 01:03:15 That's a really good point, actually, because once you drill yourself for, like, five weeks, then it's so routine that now you don't even think about it anymore. And then you've seen amazing results, and you're like, wow, I can achieve this in five weeks. Like, imagine what I can do in five months. Yeah. You know? Absolutely. So where can people find that program?
Starting point is 01:03:29 Yeah, well, there's fitin5.com. There's like all the information on there. Or you can email me or my Instagram, Paige Hathaway. And then your subscription site you have as well. What do they get with something like that? Yeah, that's, it's my website for that. It's really cool. Um, you can actually customize a plan in my subscription website for you.
Starting point is 01:03:50 Cool. So you can, it'll ask you questions and then it'll give you like a plan that's tailored to like what you're looking for. But then there's also like recipes, videos of workouts. I mean, all kinds of stuff. Cool. And that is at your website? Yeah, it's my website website pagehackle.com
Starting point is 01:04:05 cool and i'll pay ted one more wish um for this episode so we're gonna have a very special outro yeah so you guys don't know this but we're in my living room right now on a very comfy couch and i do have an ukulele that i used to live in haw.
