Starting point is 00:00:01 Hello, everybody. Welcome to the show on a Friday. You know, you listen to the lyrics there. It's like, so who are we saying? Bleping losers. You're losers. I like to think that that's them singing, all of us. We're all effing losers. The collective, the Royal Week.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Yeah, it's not like we're sitting here on some high and mighty perch, some pedestal, looking down upon others and saying, you oh you effing losers we're all losers together people that's right stick together it's the big bunch of big times of need how's our sick loser doing I'm a little
Starting point is 00:00:42 worried about him I'm dying today I'm way worse than yesterday I sound worse you sound horrible hey Jack kiss my ass want to come over let's go for a drink oh
Starting point is 00:00:57 a lot bad idea busy weekend I'm going to go to Edmonton. Oh, no. We're going to go to Calgary. Like all it. Now you've got to go to the anus. That's no good.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Oh, Brent Earl. Hello. It's not good. It's not good. This show is a presentation of Bet365 hockey fans. Check out Bet365's three goal early payout. When your team goes up, three. You get paid.
Starting point is 00:01:30 It's that simple. Download the app today. must be 19 years of age or older. Please play responsibly. That's all we ask. You know, be responsible with that ship. And we've got the super chat going. U-Centers of Calgary will benefit whatever money comes our way inside the chat as far as the superchats.
Starting point is 00:01:49 It's going to go to the U-Centers. We're going to ask you to be responsible with those as well. Yeah, I am. Yeah, less so, less so, I guess. But here we are in the suddenly chilly McLeodlaw LLP Studios. McLeodlaw, we had the heat pumping in here yesterday. It was hot, had to crack open windows. Sunny. Blue sky.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Blue sky city, rat. It's like a city. It's like a sad country song out there today. There's a clouds you're in the sky. Dog died. Sometimes I got to shoot you, dog. Can't have sun every day. Something like that.
Starting point is 00:02:22 Is it bad out? I haven't been outside. It's pissy. I saw that. Pissy, pissy rain, chili. Leon, why are you so pissy? Why are you so pissy? Huh.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Yeah. So anyway, that's what's going on? Yeah, it'd be a soup day, stew day. What's the weekend, though? Because if you make, chances are, you make chilly or stew or so you're going to have leftovers. You need some time. Don't be short-sighted on it. No, it's going to be chilly here for a little bit.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Really? What? Tomorrow high, like, not freezing cold. But high of eight, high a seven, high a two, high of eight, high of eight, high, I have more weather. Yeah. It's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:05 It's flat fuck Friday. Yeah, we're at. Zero and foggy. It says here there's a yellow advisory for fog. I mean. Oh, I hope they'll be yellow.
Starting point is 00:03:15 There's up. Shush. They're heading north. Goodness, gosh. Yellow, moderate. Three are moderate. Possible threat to life or
Starting point is 00:03:26 property. What? Hey, Environment Canada. Settle the fuck down. out. It's a pretty wide foggy out. Life or property? And or?
Starting point is 00:03:38 Yellow advisory fog. Severity, moderate, possible threat to, as far as possible threat to life or property, moderate. Okay, good. Yeah, moderate. Travel will be hazardous in some locations. Brett. There might be a significant impact on rough hour traffic.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Rough hour? Rush hour. Farm of Canada, take, just, you know what? mix, mix one in, mix a water in, just cool down. Just hit a temple environment Canada. We got a lot of to go on the day. We got Dregger coming up, I believe. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I believe Dreg is going to join us coming up here. It is a Calgary Flames game day. Get your helmet on. The two-time, raiding, defending Stanley Cup champion. Back to back, Florida Panthers, are in town tonight to take on the Calgary Flames. And they're doing God's work.
Starting point is 00:04:33 they sure are they're doing great work out there we're proud of them always good to see old friends good to see a j greer yesterday look at this there there are yeah wow dog for a second yeah freaked up like is he all right look at ah wow yes oh retro what's chunk think of that the big cat has he get intimidated got to size them up pisses himself a little bit. Yeah, you big and pricking. You should. Cats are in town. Look out.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Cats in the cradle. That's what they say. The Panteros, the Panthers. The Floridians themselves. 4-0-0 win last night in Edmonton over the Oilers. Well, the chicks dig the Pantoros when they went on the road, Dean. That's what happens. I heard that, yep.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Your buddy Bobber, 21 save shutout. Oh, that is. 53rd career shutout. Geez, that feels like a lot. It's a lot. They may hate Edmonton more than we do. I just love that in a lost year when nothing went right and their captain hasn't played a single game, they still just mop Edmonton.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Just looking across social media last night, it was it was humbling for the honks up there. Oh, it's very uninspired, very flat. You know what it was? It was not a whey. Weh. It was a way. Yeah. And the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I mean, they're just okay right now. They're okay. Worse than that. Like right now, I was looking this morning. They hover around 500 here. Four and two in their last six. Sure. With that, prior to that, they were two and nine.
Starting point is 00:06:14 They're out of the playoffs. So, like, they're just okay right now. Yeah. And made a fairly easy work of the Oilers. AJ Greer is in the top nine. That's all you need to know. God bless them. Fourth liner.
Starting point is 00:06:27 I don't want to get this. It's more about the Panthers and the flames. It's not about the Oilers, but they did play last night. The oil? Yeah. Right? So I don't want to get. That franchise is still hanging around.
Starting point is 00:06:37 When McDavid, which he was last night in a shutout loss, when he has held off the score sheet. Yeah. This season, the Oilers are 010 and 2. Huh. You can stick that right in my veins, Dino. Again, I don't want to make it about them. It's not about them. O10 and 2?
Starting point is 00:06:55 I'm writing that down. Look at that. He's writing it down. On one hand, there's only 12 games that he's been held off the score sheet. But on the other. But on the other, they're fucking brutal without it. Yeah, it's weird because it almost feels like they just won a lottery and don't know how to run a hockey team, but think they're good. Doesn't it feel like that sometimes?
Starting point is 00:07:16 What is he thinking? Get me the out of here. Because, you know, somebody, he'd be reading that stats somewhere. He would come up. Are we O tenants? the hell am I doing here on the hell he's even he's like
Starting point is 00:07:34 hello Jesus O-10 it's fellas Fellas to O-10 oh-10 Not one 992 If I'm not lifting I take one day off in 82
Starting point is 00:07:46 No Well It's not about them It's about the flames of the pantera That's a real shame I'm broken up about that I figured you might be Yeah, I figured you might be.
Starting point is 00:07:57 The Flames, they beat the Panthers already this season. That sounds fake, but I'll look out. I don't remember that at all. Oh, yeah. They did that old Southeast swing where they usually go 0 in three. November 28th as we hearken. A good hearkening on a Friday. Yeah, 5-3 was the final score of the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:08:15 They were up 2-0.0. Early. Was this the Cooley thing where he lit the first two shots in? 2-0-0-0-0. 258 in. Then Devin Cooley said, Fuck you guys Lock the doors 38 saves
Starting point is 00:08:30 stood in his head Flames get the first NHL goal from Kuznets off Yon Then it's some Uyghurs some frosts some cadre Marchand would make it
Starting point is 00:08:41 4 to 3 Joel Farabee said Is that an empty net I love those things And those count And they count the same So I'm going to put it right in there 53 final
Starting point is 00:08:50 It's your boy Yeah So that'll mean a lot tonight Was that Around the time? Revenge will be on their minds. Was that American Thanksgiving then? Was that when we were sitting at the house here?
Starting point is 00:09:03 November 28? Might have been. And that's, uh, yeah, I'm not sure. I thought I had enough detail there. I don't know what day of the week it was. No,
Starting point is 00:09:11 but we did get banged up at Redshouse. Jack was sifted through the laundry. We had a great day at Reds here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, I was, uh, what we know this about the Panthers. Not about Jack and panty drawers, but we know this about the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:09:27 banged up. It's been a banged up kind of year. They're dinged up, Dino. They got banged up after the cup win. In the cup, yeah. And then in the cup win afterwards at the elbow room, they were banged up for a long time. Then the season started.
Starting point is 00:09:39 It's like, ooh. Sasha went down in free season. It's not, we haven't started games yet. Barkavs out for, ooh, that's not good. I could Chuck missed a bunch of time. Didn't listen back until what Christmas? Yeah. After Christmas?
Starting point is 00:09:53 Sam Reinhart. One of the, one of the Panthers, who has been healthy, leads the team in goals, assists, points, power play goals, power play points, short-handed goals, game-winning goals, and shots on goal. And he's probably having it down here. Yeah, I think it's probably okay. He's about 50 the other year. But it tells you he's got 29 goals.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Oh, it's fine, but geez. Yeah, he's been, that's been a good year for Bennett. He, I think last night, it's now a career high in points for him this year. He's got 25 goals, which ties a career high, but he's got up to, I think he had 53 last night. So that's a new high for him. I'm here with the eggs. So, yeah, signs the big deal.
Starting point is 00:10:35 It's like, oh, that's not going to be money well spent. Not early, but yeah, he's really. But so far so good. But yeah, Panthers, the run is going to come to an end. There will be a new Stanley Cup champion this year. Are we all on board? That's safe to say? There's certain things that need to happen, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I'll accept 30 other teams. right yeah not so much the panthers yeah I guess this one kind of getting that yeah so what about this flames team uh right you're into the kooky science when does that mars mission start because i'm going to sign a little application for vick olifson there oh you don't like vic olifson he's a shooter he's got a good shot anyone could explore the intergalactal universe and such i feel like vicks the guy for us. He can go away. Slick, Vic. I don't know what to make the flames. The flames, uh, they got to be careful here. We can't be climbing the standings.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Here's the thing. They've got their three wins. They've hit their quota. Don't be showoffs now. We were allowing you three wins in March. There's a lot of March left. A lot. I'm worried that the Panthers would have any lost season had a maybe some emotional attachment to beating the oilers. Yeah. Last, uh, that's, that was a big one. That was last night. I just worry that maybe tonight might be flat fuck Friday, as they say. I also have this fear. By the way, what are you hammering?
Starting point is 00:12:01 You got ivermectin? All of it. Yeah, all of it. Vitamins A through Z. Yeah. All of it. Nothing that I am not ingesting and shooting into my body. It was really helping.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Are you at all concerned that... It's like Jack in Nashville. That you're able to get to these levels of illness with how... I mean, you're a science experiment. I think I would be worse. Like I said, I think I would actually be worse if I wasn't doing all this. What did you change from yesterday?
Starting point is 00:12:31 You seem a lot worse. I did not sleep last night, Ryan. I had a terrible sleep. The sleep is it's integral. Why can't just breathe? Couldn't breathe it. You too nervous about having Dregor on today or what? Well, I love hearing Dreg's stories.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I wish for Dregs would be part of our candy or chocolate bracket. Oh, we could show. We'll get us thoughts. No question about it. Yeah, we'll get his thoughts. Um, yeah, I'd Wolf time, coolly last time. Are you attempting to sell this game in some way, shape, of form?
Starting point is 00:13:03 Well, we're here to inform you decide. No, I just, uh, we're all on the same page. Everyone is. I've not met a single person that's not on this page. Right. And I don't want to share a little of it. It's like, okay, well, you could have handily beaten St. Louis the other night. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Those disallowed goes, they were all in. And some of them were. quite nice. That blues video judge, the goal guy. Right. The Farabee goal was a nice goal. Sharon Govich, nice shot.
Starting point is 00:13:32 There were some nice goals. It could have been a 4-1 hockey game very easily. Just settle down. Settled down indeed. You had a fun night the other night. You got one out. You had some wings maybe after that game.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Wings? Had some whings? On a Wednesday? Just settle back into, just. It's dreary out. It's rainy. You're not going out tonight. Panthers got to get on a plane and leave afterwards anyway.
Starting point is 00:13:57 They may as well take the win and go. Where are they going? Vancouver. I think they're going back home. They're done. Because they were in Vancouver already. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:09 I like the kind of this gym. Anyone's going to this game tonight? Ryan Hart is out, or at least has not played on this road trip. Which one? Cole or Sam? Not Cole. I think probably both. Call is it.
Starting point is 00:14:22 He's on the fourth line. I'm thinking of Schwint. I'm thinking of Shwint. There's two Ryan Hearts. Shwint is injured. There's two Coles and two Ryan hearts. So hard to give up today. Just don't get, don't get cute.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Play hard. Entertain the fans. It's a Friday night. Are you going getting all beard up? No, I took care of that last night. You did, eh? Home alone. Yes, he did.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Hoy. Jack says, yes, he did. Were you part of it? Or were you getting updates? We communicate regularly. Jack and I know more about each other than we let you guys know about us. I believe the text was I should not be at the ship. Right now.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Right now. It was 106 with a table full of drinks. Are you not parenting solo right now? Yes. Dean. Zip it. Ryan met some boys from Montana. Yeah, there's some losers up from Montana.
Starting point is 00:15:22 spring break. They were so excited about cheap the drinks where that you had to entertain them. Yep. Didn't have to, but you know. It's. I love attention. Just love. Like what is it?
Starting point is 00:15:38 I was out with Commissioner Boobbs. We were having a time. Oh, what a guy. He's still drunk. Let's go to the insider hot. Yeah, that's probably a good idea. This is no way to go to. This is not a way to go to dregs.
Starting point is 00:15:55 No. We're sorry, Dregger. We don't want to. circling into this. And then it was 1 o'clock and I was at the ship and it's like who's at home with my kids right now? All right. Zip it. Time for the insider hotline.
Starting point is 00:16:09 A proud presentation of Crystal Waters Plumbing and Heating. They are the best in the business at taking care of your home's mechanical heart. Maybe your home builder. Are you out there? High volume professional mechanical subcontractors. You just need somebody to handle all that stuff for you. There's nobody
Starting point is 00:16:25 better. And Barnburner customers. You need a new hot water heater, AC, Furtis, discounts, upgrades up to $1,000 bucks in value. Oh, baby. Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, crystal clear choice for home comfort 403, 209, 4100, crystal clear Calgary. com as we check in. There he is. With the insider Darren Dregor. Hello, Dregs.
Starting point is 00:16:47 You got me, boys. You got me? We got you. Were you out of the ship and anchor at 104 a.m? No. Is that just one of us on screen? Well, it feels like I was. Because I mean, I'm not a tech savvy guy even a little bit.
Starting point is 00:17:01 And I'm surprised you can hear me because I can only kind of hear you. And I've got some computer audio nonsense going on here that I like the next thing that's going to happen is this laptop is going through the window. That's what's going to happen. Maybe I was. Maybe I was in the bar until two in the morning. Kind of feels like I would. Yes, a viewer drugs. Do you want to take a minute and, uh, because we can hear you fine?
Starting point is 00:17:27 Okay, no, we're good. You're all. This is going full LeBardius. Because Peter LaVardius, we love, friend of the show, Luddite. Anything with like a chip in it, not good for him. Yeah, Lubbo struggled with the technology. Wox was another one. Really?
Starting point is 00:17:43 It was, oh, yeah, it was tough. Yeah, it was tough to handle. So you were at the general manager's meetings? Is that what you were doing? I was. Yeah, I said on you the whole time. I heard it was not good weather. Now, weather was lousy.
Starting point is 00:17:58 I mean, it's better than what I'm looking at right now in southern Ontario. But Wednesday was near Hurricane Force winds, teeming rain, all the nonsense. But, you know what, you're in a nice resort. You know, it's not heavy lifting. Even though we actually had some stuff to talk about, which can be a tad unusual with these meetings. But once he had all that cleaned up by mid-afternoon, It was warm enough to at least straddle up to the pool bar where there were several unnamed NHL general managers. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:34 And tough to recognize that. Yeah. Yeah, you can always tell the guys who are locks in the playoffs, they're great, man. They're golden. And then you've got the guys who are not even anywhere close to the cut line. And they're okay. They're disappointed. but, you know, there's no stress.
Starting point is 00:18:54 What are you going to do? You'll deal with it in the offseason. And the guys that are in the fight right now to try and claw their way in, they're nowhere near that pool bar. They're like you can't be. They're in the rooms trying to keep the wolves at bay. That's what the, I did see Craig Conroy wasn't one of the several that I saw at the pool bar, but I did see Connie a couple of times.
Starting point is 00:19:18 You guys are going to be impressed. I saw him when we checked in. He was right behind me and check in. on Sunday night. And then the next time I saw him, he was in the gym. And he was working out. And I was walking by with you.
Starting point is 00:19:32 He needs. I was going to say, were you spotting him or was he spotting you? Tarps off? What are we doing here? No, I see, it's kind of a weird setup. It's one of those hotels where, all right, you've got the ocean and the pools and everything on this side. And it's a glass hallway.
Starting point is 00:19:49 So you walk through, you look to your left or look to your right. see the water and the pools, you look to the other side, and there is a run of treadmills and stepers and all of that. So it's kind of the walk of shame. And every time I walk through there, you've got, because most of the managers are pretty active still, right? They're all, the majority of them are former athletes, former NHL players. And they're still after it. So I walked through there or waddle through there and these guys are all grinding away. And I'm like, okay, this is a walk of shame. Now, I remember it was not that long ago that it was actually the O'Dog,
Starting point is 00:20:27 Jeff O'Neill, I think on his Twitter, gave you some praise to say, hey, you know what? I saw Dreg's crushing it on the treadmill this morning. I mean, he had a, he had had a fair clip too. Well done, Dreg's doing some options. Flat out why, just complete BS. Is that right? True.
Starting point is 00:20:43 None of it. And even though people were sour that there was a rating system and they weren't being named to any of Jeff O'Neill's ratings, the dog wasn't in that gym. No. He might have been in the diner across the street, but he wasn't in the gym. The dog.
Starting point is 00:21:05 I find some of the stuff that comes, I'll do respect. Pinder kind of gets into it. Some of the stuff that comes out of board of governors or GM's meetings and stuff, I just, I kind of glaze. I kind of glaze over.
Starting point is 00:21:19 It's okay. Because at the end of the day, it just feels like nothing's going to happen. It felt like there was some tension this week. We heard about some tension between maybe a general manager or two and Gary Betman, whether it be, you know, hits to the head, the playoffs and the playoff rankings, Billy Garon's kind of. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Not going to feel great to be the third best team in the league and be out after round one potentially. No. Is that kind of, did it, did that just become kind of public knowledge this time? or is there some contention when these things get together? I think it's more about, it just became public. And I don't think that it was hot or contentious. I don't.
Starting point is 00:22:01 I mean, the guy we're talking about here is Eric Tulski of the Carolina Hurricanes. And my understanding is he may have questioned the consistency around Rule 48, you know, contact with the head. And I think he was pretty much told. that by the commissioner, we're calling it the way we've called it. And nothing has changed in that regard. So I don't think it was hot or overly contentious, but there was a point of order.
Starting point is 00:22:33 I think that was established. There was ample decision or discussion on goalie interference. I mean, to a point, we're all kind of confused because, you know, one game you'll see this, another game you'll see that. And the two are similar,
Starting point is 00:22:47 but they're called completely differently. and that's almost a staple of GM meetings to be fair. And I don't think it was hotly debated because I think hockey operations just clarifies by saying, look, there are no two goalie interference incidents that are the same. They may look similar, but they're not identically the same. They can't be. And because of that, it boils down to a judgment call.
Starting point is 00:23:14 So there was some discussion on that. You know, kind of what fueled some of the fire going in was the Radco Gutus five-game suspension right before the GM meetings, right? Because then George Perils came under fire because Judd Maldavey, the agent went after him, when after the Department of Player's Safety. Carter McDavid, you know, came out just before the meetings. And he indicated that he at least would like some questions answered and a little bit more work done to see if there is.
Starting point is 00:23:46 a better means of dispensing supplemental discipline. So those were the primary things. And you guys can walk through any direction you want here. But what didn't get as much attention as it deserved, and it's not a sexy item, but it's a big one because they spent two plus days talking about it, is the fact that 19-year-old players from the Canadian hockey leagues will be able to play in the American League next year.
Starting point is 00:24:13 and again, two full days, those general managers talked about it. And they gave it that amount of weight out of respect to the CHL. And we're not having this conversation. If the NCAA doesn't open its guidelines to, yeah, to allow CHL players to play Division I, right? So what does a 19-year-old do if he's been in major junior hockey for three years? He's drafted by the NHL, and he doesn't think that there's a whole lot of growth for him developmentally in junior hockey. Well, he's going to play college, right? He'll have that option now.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Or, wait a minute, the National Hockey League, who owns your playing rights professionally, ooh, now they have a spot for you at the American Hockey League. Why is that such a bad thing? So we don't know how many players, how many 19-year-olds per team, are going to be allowed to play. I don't think we're going to see a flood of 19-year-olds to the American League. I don't. But I do think that they're working on the details still.
Starting point is 00:25:26 I want to see what that framework looks like. But I do think that it is a step of progression. I'm kind of hesitating in saying that because I've been a big believer in the Canadian Hockey League my entire life. And I'm not changing now. but I think it's just systemic and it's bred from changes at other levels of hockey.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I could dive into this for hours with you and I think we'd bore everyone but I think that you can argue the opposite way too and I don't know if I'm making sense when I say that is that the WHL love it. I'm supposed to go to Saskatoon see Chaser tomorrow. Mark Watton
Starting point is 00:26:04 they're doing the retirement jerseys, blah blah blah. There's no reason the WHL needs five seasons of your life. Yeah. 16-year-old kids, you shouldn't be able to play in the junior hockey at 15 at all. You don't need to. There are kids that can do it, but it's not a necessity for their development. At 16, you can play, but you still don't need to.
Starting point is 00:26:28 And if you push that talent down and keep it together for longer, then people aren't racing to get out of there. But because we splintered and take the top kids, now everyone else thinks, well, I've got to be a top kid, so I've got to leave the league that's really good. for me. So I don't think that opening it up is a bad idea, but I think slowing kids down is a good idea too. There's no one will listen, but it's a race and a and you a lot of kids suffer because it is a race. Yeah. And you don't need it to be a race. I think it's better off your point on the younger players is a valid one and multiple general managers raise that as an area of concern that
Starting point is 00:27:17 yeah let's look at the western oculane you bring up the saskatoon blades um the western oculing for years has pushed back at these younger kids you know and said no we're not they're 15 no go plays play midget hockey, do it every U-15, whatever they call it now, all of that. And the fear among managers, NHL managers, is that the CHL is going to become almost like a tier two system where the league will be younger, right? So the Western League, the Ontario League, the Quebec League, now they'll have those kids at 16, 17, and maybe 18, but how long before things are. loosen up even a little bit.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And not just Gavin McKenna goes to college hockey. Maybe you look at that two ways. Maybe 15 very good draft eligible players go into college hockey. You know, the hope is that no, it's the opposite. Gavin McKenna in Madison at this year gets what? 125 points. 120. Last year, I think.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Yeah. You know, so he's going to finish at Ben State with what, 60? Obviously, it's just that much harder of a league to play in. You're playing against 21, 22, 23-year-old men. And there are some who, you know, McKenna is likely going first overall. But if you're an 18-year-old, are you willing to risk that you're not going to be as dynamic at college? So there's all kinds of layers to this entire feeder system conversation. There is all kinds of layers.
Starting point is 00:28:59 And it goes back even further to minor hockey where I, I'm going to bring it up again because I'm a believer in it. The Americans play year of birth. Play year at birth. You don't need to combine years. I'm going through it and you get kids that aren't physically able and it's a mess for them. And it's, there's enough kids out there. You do not need two years to make a team.
Starting point is 00:29:23 You don't need to combine them. Yeah, we're not short on players. That's fair. Anyway, I don't. Yeah. Back to junior. I was Saskatoon, the blue. ledge put it on. Chaser's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:29:34 That's awesome. Awesome. Did you play in that old barn, or was that past? No, I watched the old barn. I used to go watch Chaser and Twister and all those tough bastards. Kevin Kaczymitsky and Jeff Hodgers once fought in that old building, like at least twice in one game. They might have been 16, 17 at that age.
Starting point is 00:29:56 And I mean, I happen to be there because I was going to school. I think it was like 86 or 87, something like that. And to the wildest flight I had ever seen. Just Wolverines attacking each other. Oh, my God. That was a great. And we're talking, this is ancient history. And a very small percentage of the people know what the hell we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:30:19 But Kevin Kaminsky, how old would he have been at 16 or 17, pound for pound the most fearless guy maybe ever to play in the Western League? just bananas. Killer. You get the nickname. Yeah. It's not bad. You know, you earn that.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Hey, his family has a, their small town arena in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan is, is named after the Kaminsky family. Yeah. Kivinsky. Can I bring back to the 19 year old rule just for a second?
Starting point is 00:30:47 Because in this, in this city, and like that rule has been a pet peeve mine forever. And I get that it's a major developmental artery. It's just less and less percentage of the anticholish. pass through it. I see the leverage changing, whatever. That's that. But we're watching Zane Perak here, who is one of the top prospects in the sport. And he compiles 30 goals and 100 points as a D-Man in the O. And to your point earlier, there's nothing left to learn.
Starting point is 00:31:12 You probably are only going to collect bad habits if you go back to what Saginaar or whatever. This would have been the perfect year to place this kid in the American hockey league and play. Well, and once he signs, he can't go. If he'd known that if that was laid out, he might not assign. Right. And the rules were marking you at that time. That's a fair point by you. But if this guy could be playing top pair minutes of the American League for 70 games.
Starting point is 00:31:37 That's the thing. I think this is one of those situations where the player, Saginaw, everybody would look at it and say, well, this is clearly makes the most sense. It's just there's going to come at a time where it's, well, that kid is not necessarily better off playing there than he would be here. You know what I mean? It's clear as day with Perrex. But it's not always out. And so what you have is like one of the most important pieces in this, you know,
Starting point is 00:32:00 architecture work that Conroy has done overhauling this roster. And he's not ready for the NHL in a lot of ways. Like I think you can see what's going to theoretically make him special. But you also just were like, well, he's not strong enough. And time and space are not there for him. And it just feels like almost a lost season developmentally.
Starting point is 00:32:19 And then one of your top prospects that's worth millions of dollars to this franchise for what he could potentially be. It just feels like a lost season. Like, I think this is a very mystery thing. Yeah. Or what if you have, and again, we have to, eventually they're going to publicize the framework of what the agreement is between the NHL and the CHL
Starting point is 00:32:41 specific to this issue. You know, what if you had a deadline or a moving mark, okay? We all know that they've got to play nine, ten games, right, the NHL level and then your enter level, contract comes in a question. But what if then it shifted to the American League, where you had until maybe the world juniors? Sure.
Starting point is 00:33:03 That becomes your cutoff. And then the NHL club, like, so you go from your NHL 9-10 games to the American League, you play it out until the world juniors. And then the NFL club decides, okay, well, you slept a little bit in your last 10 games of the American League before playing at the World Juniors. or he's slipped period, and we want you to go back to Major Jr., because we want you to feel good, dominate in the remainder of the year, and then come back, and we're all ready to go.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I mean, all of those things, those parameters could be employed here, but there is one outlier, and I think that this also has encouraged the NHL to act on this as quickly as they're going to in time for next year. You guys know ProDash, Alexei Pradesh, who plays with the Washington Capitals. His younger brother is a 19-year-old playing in the American. American hockey league and doing very, very well. But he's a 19-year-old playing there because he came out of the USHL. Right. So now you've got, again,
Starting point is 00:34:05 so the National Hockey League, and it isn't bullying, I think what they're trying to do, I know what they're trying to do, to remove think, I know what they're trying to do. They're trying to align all their feeder systems to march as one. And so this is why all of a sudden, you get people who conjure up the idea of, well, hey, maybe the USHL and the CHL will merge one day. You know, how interesting would that be? And man, throw that at the president of the CHL, Dan McKenzie, and luck out because you're getting a blast coming back. They're so protected, but they do have to align the rules in what you can and can't do.
Starting point is 00:34:43 It's a double standard. Like Gridden's the same age as Perretton, and he's allowed to play in the year because he was drafted out of the USHL. He played one year in the Cuban, wasn't drafted out of it. And Perak was in the O isn't allowed. It's just like, to your point, they're the same birth year. They'll figure it. And it's just frustrating that it's not,
Starting point is 00:35:01 it's a double standard. This kid can, this kid can't. The question I, well, the only other thing I have question I do have is, yes, they want to align it in the USHL and the CHL. They can probably have some pretty good sway. The colleges are willing to listen? And is that part, is that part of the alignment that you're discussing or you're mentioning?
Starting point is 00:35:20 Because the colleges to me are like, we don't give a shit. I don't think that's ever going to change. Yeah. But that's just it. Like the NHL wants to streamline and have the pipeline work together. Yes. The colleges are kind of outliers where they're not going to fall in line without some real convincing.
Starting point is 00:35:39 I don't look at out of college any time. That's the difference. Nah. I mean, the NCAA is going to march to the beat of its own. They're just going, yeah, we're going to do whatever we want to do. I think that, you know, when the process was developing, whereby major junior players could go to the NCAA.
Starting point is 00:35:55 The hope of the expectation was that they'd develop relationships, right? From one major junior team to a specific college. So it does become almost a developmental chain, right? You keep this kid for three years, maybe four, and then we'll take him at 1920. I'm not so sure it's going to play out that way. And it didn't take long, did it? For it not to play out that way with Gavin McKenna,
Starting point is 00:36:22 going to Penn State as an 18-year-old. Let's shift gears a little bit. I'm curious now, I think we were talking maybe yesterday the day before, that just the whole, the doldrums, the dog days, the Olympic break, you come back, so many games, we're playing every other night. But you're starting to get that math. It's the way, at least how it works for me,
Starting point is 00:36:42 it's okay, so 68 games. Once you get to 72, oh, we got 10 left. Now you can really start to kind of carpet, whatever it is. Complementalize it. Some teams need to get their shit together, and it's like, oh, we really do need to hurry. And some other teams are like,
Starting point is 00:37:01 we're on a bit of a wobble here, but we're fine. Don't worry about it. I think of a team like Vegas, they lose again. They're not playing well at all right now. I don't think they're going to miss, but it's like,
Starting point is 00:37:15 is this how you're going to go into the playoffs? The Oilers probably the same way. Then there's some other teams, Columbus, they can't, they couldn't, they didn't want the Olympic break and they can't get the playoffs here fast enough because right now they're in it for one, but they, they're just not losing games. What teams worry you the most right now as we're in that neighborhood of 12-ish games across the board away from the thing start? Well, I wonder about Ottawa, for sure. They kind of, they'll take a step forward and then they'll shoot themselves in the foot.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Like last night, there were incredible swings, particularly in the, the Eastern Conference with the wins and the losses last night. And for me, it looks now like the Ottawa Senators are just flat out going to run out runway. And that's too bad because that's a team that for the most part this year has played well enough to be in the Eastern Conference playoff equation. They may not be. And if they don't qualify, then you know the knives are going to come out because
Starting point is 00:38:13 Steve Steehouse is going to, he's going to have some explaining to do. And it's not his fault. You know, I mean, he acquired Linus Allmark, paid a price, you know, extended the goalie, thinking that, all right, we've got a proven net monitor here. Our goalie problems are over. And yet pretty much all this season, the instability in goal is plagued the Ottawa Senator. So that's a team that I wonder about Detroit because of the injuries that they had to Larkin and Cop. You know, will they find a way like they did last night? You know, I guess we'll see.
Starting point is 00:38:46 but they're kind of on the edge. I know Winnipeg was turning into what was going to be arguably one of the better second half stories we've had in a while because they not that long with Winnipeg Jets were 11 points out of the playoff spot. And then all of a sudden they've clawed their way all the way back to four and then they took it in the teeth last night. So there's a number of teams. I mean, the reason Gary Batman keeps pushing back at any
Starting point is 00:39:16 sort of scheduling, tinkering, or change is because of what we're experiencing, right? Incredible playoff races, right down to game 82, and then you get just off the charts playoff intensity in the first round and often in the second round. You know, the sad reality, and the cost of doing that is that two or three or four really good teams get bounced in the first two rounds. And that's why we continue to push for a better way. but it's impossible to argue against the playoff entertainment that we're already feeling now. Do you see any real opportunity for change there?
Starting point is 00:39:52 Because it feels like Gary's dug his heels in on that. I would say there isn't. And I know that the general manager executive committee raised it one more time on Sunday, informally in an informal meeting. Not all managers are there with Batman and Daley. It was basically glossed over. And they got the same sort of response that they, always get from the commissioner. No, it's not broken. There's no need to fix it.
Starting point is 00:40:18 I guess the one thing that I always come back to, though, is because I hear from owners, I hear from general managers, I hear from players that they all want the idea of change thoroughly discussed, not speculated on. Let's have a discussion about it. Who wouldn't want to see, rather than 84 regular season games, wouldn't you like to see 80 or or 82 leave it the way it is and then a play-in round? Like, who wouldn't watch play in hockey? Of course we would. I mean, the eyeballs would be tremendous.
Starting point is 00:40:53 Hockey revenue would increase. And receding in the playoffs or one versus eight, I don't know. I think anything you can do to protect the better teams who have gone through the blood, sweat, and tears of an 80-plus game regular season should get a little bit more bang for their buck. but all the people I've talked about, billionaires,
Starting point is 00:41:16 both powerful men in hockey, have not been able to convince Commissioner Bettman that this is a good idea. So I guess it's up to us in the media just to continue to chew on. The coyotes in Phoenix for 20 years. I mean, it's going to take a while. The NHL is going back to Arizona.
Starting point is 00:41:38 They will, they'll find the right back. They got to get a rink in the right part of town. It'll be a hill. I think we all feel that way. We went to that college rink and you're just like, it's so sad that it got to that. Because if you just plunked one in Scottsdale, it'd be a winner.
Starting point is 00:41:51 Yeah, agreed. Yeah. I guess the Leafs, just because you're there, that's a season that feels like that one can't end soon enough for everybody there. What's your take? I saw somebody who's like, expect a new captain, new GM, a new coach. That's quite an off season. big change.
Starting point is 00:42:13 Does one of the three happen before next season? Well, I appreciate the speculation, and I think that it's fair. I mean, so if you're the owners, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, and you more or less have made the decision that Brad Trulliving needs to be fired, then do it. Like, he's signing college kids. He's, you know, doing what general managers do. every single day.
Starting point is 00:42:43 That doesn't seem to me like a man who's walking on broken ice. Now, you know, there has to be an end-a-season review. And maybe MLSC says, all right, Keith Pelley, didn't work out. Sorry, we are going to bring in a president of hockey operations.
Starting point is 00:43:02 And then we'll leave it up to the president to decide if he wants a manager change and if he wants a coaching change. You know, so all of that has to come under fire and come under an, audit, which will happen at the end of the year. The only way Austin Matthews isn't back
Starting point is 00:43:18 is if Austin Matthews says, I don't believe in the direction we're going here. But guys, I'm not in that cap that thinks Toronto needs to take it to the studs. I don't. I think Trilov's got to find a way
Starting point is 00:43:34 and he's got some assets. I thought he did pretty well to be fair at the trade deadline. In acquiring some of the pieces, now you can reinvest in the market, maybe attach a player here or there to it and get some, like change the look of the team. Maybe get lucky at the draft or the lottery. 100%.
Starting point is 00:43:51 You know, and now off you go again. So if Austin Matthews decides, okay, I don't know, this doesn't sound right to me. I'm going to play the Quinn Hughes card. I'm two years out and I'm not extending here. So I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. If you think you can get more for me now, and we have to agree on where I would end up,
Starting point is 00:44:15 then let's have that conversation with that team and let's make that decision this off season. For me, that's the only way Matthew's future is called in the question at this point. It feels like what they have to wrap their heads around Toronto, is this an off year or do we need to rebuild? And if you feel like it's an off year, you probably are like, well,
Starting point is 00:44:38 Trillivvy's going to stay. Our coach is going to stay, whatever it is. Austin's here. It was just a bad year. But if it's the opposite, you now have to ask yourself, do we have the right person to start from square one and build a contender? Right. Well, I don't know what game it was, like number of game.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Was it 64, 65 of the regular season when Radcoe Gutus took out the knee of Austin Matthews? Yeah. But to that point, it was an off year. Right. And that incident and their lack of response has injected some courage into the group because they have played entirely different from the third period of that hockey game to the point of this conversation. So if you can continue on with that and you can pull together the group of players that are leading you in how the team is playing now, all right, I think you're going to. find a way to get through it. I'm not convinced that that's possible.
Starting point is 00:45:45 I look at Morgan Riley as an example. I think he's screaming for a change of scenery. Based in his play, like he takes heat in the market, but it's mostly media heat, and it's based on his game. He's not playing well. He didn't play well enough last year or this year. What does his market value look like? and it may not be much.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Yeah, that might be a tough contract to move. But it's deals like that where they've got to get, they've got to change the look of the team and bring in players if Craig Barube is still the coach that are going to play the game that he wants them to play. A couple things before we let you go. Everyone loves March Madness and that. We've got our own March Madness starting a year ago.
Starting point is 00:46:32 We did our candy bracket. We, uh, who did win the, who won our candles were up there, but I don't think it was cool. Coke. We're at the radio station. They want to patch kids, I think. I can't even know it. Gosh,
Starting point is 00:46:44 so we're doing the chocolate championship this time around. We've got, it's going to be the top 16. We've got a play in round. It'll start early next week. It's a little small there, but you can maybe kind of make out what we got there. We got some.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Reese is the one seat. It's a heavyweight. They're a defending champ. They're the defending champ. The eight nine score versus Twix. My wife, she's like, I think Wonderbar has got,
Starting point is 00:47:07 I just don't think they're getting by Kit Kat, I don't know. The M&Ms might have advantage. We've just kind of lumped them in as a group. Maybe it's peanut, maybe it's chocolate. There's different variations. But the Mars bar is, it's a classic. I guess just thoughts
Starting point is 00:47:22 on the championship, which starts next week. Yeah. Well, I'm a child, and I've always been a child. And you can think of the pranks that I played with the O. Henry bar back in the day. Yeah, we saw Caddy Shaddy. Yeah. So that's a no-go. My top three,
Starting point is 00:47:41 my top three would be Snickers, Kit Kat, and the caramel milk bar. There you go. Wow. And we still don't know the caramel milk secret. No. All those years later. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:54 How do they get it in there? Lock and key, Dean. It's in a safe somewhere. There we go. And we'll let you go with the O dog. I found the tweet. And you say it's not, it's not, it's not, kind of makes me sad now.
Starting point is 00:48:06 don't be shot to see Darren Drager on the next power rankings. Treadmill inclined at 15 speed at 6 mile per hour. Great job, Darren. I don't even know if treadmills go to the incline at 15 to do this. You were cranking it. That's great.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Have a good weekend, buddy. Always good catching up. Yeah, you too. Thanks, guys. Darren, TSN, Hockey Insider. Joining us on the Crystal Waters, Spumming, Heating Insider Hotline. 403-219. 4100. Check them out. at crystal clear calgary dot com the best you might be putting your heater back on again see we were saying the furnace you think you're done with the furnace getting serious you're not that's
Starting point is 00:48:45 not how that goes yeah the oh henry bar yeah if you're not paying close enough attention it's it's gonna it's gonna make you look reasonable facsimile it is a reasonable fact simile we are doing the chocolate i'm not a sweet sky at all so when i walk into a convenience store it's chips yeah i don't go down the sweet style. Are you going in getting chocolate or candy? Or depending on the day, Jack? It's kind of switched for me recently. I was always a chocolate guy,
Starting point is 00:49:26 but then I pivoted to the candies for a bit. So I don't remember last time I bought a chocolate bar. Interesting. In my old age, I am finding myself because I'm like you. I'm a salty. I want chips. I want that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:49:39 I just remember you'd be having dinner with, you know, your in-laws or grandma's, it's like, well, what's dinner's done? Well, what's for dessert? And we would, we would just never, there would be no dessert or whatever, but it was like, well, you're having dinner. So what's dessert? Is it pie?
Starting point is 00:49:54 Is it cake? What's the, you know, like the older generation? You always had dessert. It's like, I don't know if I really, but I find now as soon as I'm kind of does, I could really use a sweet. Really could. Maybe it's an old person thing. Are we going to sample?
Starting point is 00:50:11 Are we going to feel the fiber here? Well, I don't know. You tell me. This is your baby. I'd like to. Oh, okay. I'll grab a brown bill and go buy some chocolate. You can get those bags with the individual. Halloween size. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Well, it's Halloween season for sure. I go back and forth. I'll be honest. Sometimes it might be both. Might be some candies. Not going to limit yourself. That's a good point. A little chocolate.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Depends on how long the drive is, right? Yeah, right? Am I going to Ladoque? That jerky is. Oh, good. Takes a while to get there. You're going to need something on the way. You're going to need some.
Starting point is 00:50:47 Definitely going to need a sweet on the way home. Yeah. What's your go-to candy right now, Jack? The sour jolly ranchers. Jolly Ranchers are like. Gummies. But I do like the hard Jolly Ranchers. They're hard to find, though.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I found topical. They had a bag of the all reds. So the cherry and the watermelons, just those? How do you steer clear of those? Please look out. Man. God damn it. The Chalka Championship will start up next week.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Can't we? We'll get it going. We got the playing round. I'm interested to see the big Turk. Because there is. There's going to be some heavy love or hatred. I have half. Feels like half of people are like,
Starting point is 00:51:36 how did this even, what are you talking about? And the other half, how was this not in the top 16? It's a vocal minor job for the big Turk. Yeah. Or maybe for the rollo. Maybe the roll. Either way.
Starting point is 00:51:48 That's, yeah. Yeah. It's a banger to start. I'll tell you that. And then in the other side, the two wildcards, one of Big Turk and Rollo will move on, and only one of dairy milk, the classic, and the lovable smarties.
Starting point is 00:52:02 It's the vet against the kids. It is. Yeah. It's a generational thing. It really is. We'll really know our demographics here on this podcast. We'll know a lot more about everybody. I've never had a Rollo or Big Turk.
Starting point is 00:52:16 What? Give me some. Jack, get off your ass and get out there. Well, yeah, Jack, come on. This is like reading a book. I'm waiting for the. The rollo comes in a roll. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:24 And inside, it's like they're kind of stacked together. They're little bite-sized chocolate covered. It's like a caramel, but it's hard. Like, think caramel milk, but the inside is harder. Yeah. Yeah. But not as true, not as hard as maybe you might think a caramel to be. Right.
Starting point is 00:52:43 I'll tell you what I like in rollo. Ice cream. Oh. Yeah. The Rollo ice cream is so good. A phenomenal. Yeah. That's a winner.
Starting point is 00:52:51 So you're an ice cream guy, but not a sweets guy. I'm not a sweets guy at all or ice cream or, but I mean, I'm also not a fool. Well said. Kemp trails haven't got him yet. He's still not a fool. I'm no fool. I know what the Rollo ice cream is about. I don't need to be a sweets guy to know that that's legit.
Starting point is 00:53:14 Hey, this is a banger. Shit. Dealing with some flunky over here. No. Is that conversation with Dregs? Because that conversation in the league is a big conversation. The CHL and the USHA and all. Like that's a big deal.
Starting point is 00:53:34 For people listening, is that just here? Like you said. It's not baseball for sure. Yeah, terrible. It's if you're a casual that is what are we talking about? Yeah, people are like, so is McDavid. going to ask for a trade is what's going on with Colorado. But it is crucial because it's like, look, it's, but it's the top league in the world,
Starting point is 00:53:52 where are the kids coming from? We got to make sure that system. Okay. Now you're doubling up on it, see? No, but I don't think people care. I agree with you. Yeah. Like, tell me, give me a trade rumor.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Is Austin Matthews going like, that's the sexy stuff. That is not a sexy conversation, but it's crucial to the league, to your point, right? Yeah. And you know what? Who I feel for is the man in his new Yankee hat behind the screen. Because after the show, he goes in and grabs clips. like the zingers, the hard hitters, the click baity stuff, the people are going to, ooh, what Drager was on today?
Starting point is 00:54:22 Well, I'm going to have to go and see that. I need more of that. Yeah, that's not it. Sorry, Jack. That's all right. You're good luck cutting some out of that on. I guess you have the Leaf stuff. Hey, Jack, see if you can find some Georgie Babcock,
Starting point is 00:54:37 2500 games from the Sabres game last night. I saw they were spraying water on them. He's, it's so awesome. Is the equipment guy? Yeah. Yes, 2500 games. fighter games. Him,
Starting point is 00:54:47 he's being the over. Yeah, how many, that's forever. Yeah. That's like, uh,
Starting point is 00:54:55 the stamp equipment guy. He knows, like, just ancient. Like you're here, you are a piece of the franchise now. Also a George. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:02 And interesting, just because it kind of ties in, you see, look at across the table there, Dean. That's your co-host there. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:10 Like he ages hourly, right? Daily. Like it's, there's, there's, George Babcock looks the exact same as he did in 1995. I was very surprised that that's who that was when I saw the clips.
Starting point is 00:55:25 Really? Wow. Carat juice and a sex swing keeps a young, Dean. It's what I hear. Oh, boy, Jack, can you maybe get involved? And pause and breath. And Renfrew Chrysler.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Renfrewcrisler.com 1920 Pump House Road Southwest. But it comes to the Rams sport, Renfrew doesn't just compete. They lead. It's the 60K sport, widely known as Canada's best deal on a RAM sport. And that's just the start. Renfrew recently named the number one Stalantis dealership in Canada for most new vehicle sales. That is serious volume with one of the largest inventories in the country. It's a strong lineup of Jeep Compass models as well. Their price to move, no shortage of options. Big selection, big Hennurgy at a team that knows how to close out a win when it matters. Visit them 1920 Pump House Road Southwest.
Starting point is 00:56:16 or you can go online, renfrewcriser.com. It's Renfrewcriser, part of the Capital Automotive Group here on Barnburner. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Carrot juice, hey? What's what they say. Jack told me that. That's what they say.
Starting point is 00:56:30 I was a busy night last night in the old NHL. It's a busy one. Play the tunes. Yeah. Busy one. Sabers again, hey? You got it there, Jack? You'd throw her in there, bud, if you got her.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Look at it out. Okay, big one. $5,500 for this guy. Thanks, guys. Bringing up all the years. Packing that stuff, cleaning it. Hell of a job, George. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:57:02 That wins for your pal. Appreciate it. Yeah, a fucking fell spot out. George. Yeah. So boys to be working for this organization and this logo. that's continue as you keep it going.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Let's go! That's awesome. That was after a 5-0-0 win in San Jose, their third straight win, and 11 of 12. Those guys work so hard, and it is the most thankless job in the world. It feels like it.
Starting point is 00:57:35 There has to be something there, right? They're not making millions, and they are at 2 a.m. unpacking wet gear and hanging it in a visiting room, miles away from the hotel, they should be sleeping. That is the toughest job. in pro sports.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Yeah. The exhaustion that we talk about it that you appreciate about road trips. It's like, wow, they got in at three o'clock. Yeah, and went straight to bed. No. Not these guys. Went to the rink. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:57 And sharpened skates and hung gear and did laundry. And then slept for 90 minutes and went back in and make the coffee. Slept at the rink. Yeah. And then made coffee and had everything ready for the boys in the morning. Takes a special breed retro. It does. And he's a special breed.
Starting point is 00:58:14 I could tell you that. Yeah. along the lines of that looking, you know, looking young. And he does, it's a very strapping young lad. A little Georgie,
Starting point is 00:58:22 uh, Sweetland there. Um, so too, Paul Maurice. Hmm. He is, uh,
Starting point is 00:58:30 set to coach in, uh, I believe last night was 1998. What a year. Second all time in terms of games coached. He is a hundred and forty three behind Scotty Bowman for most all time. God, remember he's like a kid coach in his 30s?
Starting point is 00:58:49 And you're like, look at this young guy. At the time, he was the fifth youngest head coach ever, 28 years old, 28-year-old, so a little shy of being 29, but is behind the bench as a head coach as a 28-year-old in Hartford. Jack, are you? How old are you? You're 27 or 27 or 28? 27. Can you imagine coaching an in an in-hiel team in like a year? No.
Starting point is 00:59:08 That's insane. How does a 28-year-old go into a man? Jack's a idiot. Yeah, I'm compared to Jack. Jack. I can tell you right now, Paul Maurice can read. Yeah, I don't doubt it. Yeah, he's a bookworm for sure.
Starting point is 00:59:21 Is that the youngest NHL coach ever? No, he was the fifth youngest. Fifth youngest. So, I mean, it's close, right? Once you're at 28 in that 27 XX number of days kind of thing. But he was the youngest guy for, it's not just, oh, today, for years. Because then he was 29 and 30 and 31 and 32 and was still by far and away the youngest head coach in the national hockey league.
Starting point is 00:59:46 But, and look, you know what? Looks good. Lindy Ralph's still giving her too. Yeah. Like Lindy's got some gray hair and that, but we, we talked about Conroy and, you know, how the, the years are just piling up on college. aging like a president. Poor Jess.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Paul Maurice. I mean, he doesn't, uh, doesn't look like it's affecting him the same way as it maybe does others. Gary Green at 26 with the capitals. That was an in-season replacement. Wasn't there a guy in Chicago the other couple years ago that was from Calgary? Yes, but he was not, he wouldn't have in 20s, but he played on the same world junior team, that super team during the lockout in 0405, that like Seabrook and Jeff Glass were on.
Starting point is 01:00:33 He was like literally coaching his buddies. That's crazy when you're that young. Balmeries? In town tonight? Here tonight. Didn't seem at the shit. I should have got him on. Yeah, I could have got him on.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Yeah, could have got him on. Could have, maybe. Coaching in the NHL at 20. At your age, Jack. Yeah, I'm trying to comprehend this right now. You can't even clean your kitchen. You can't even make a meal. You can't even read a book.
Starting point is 01:01:06 How the hell are you're going to coach a team? I don't know. People are passing out judgment, junkie parents with kids at home. Is that true that you can't cook either or? No, I can cook and clean. Well, if you can cook, where's my damn lasagna.
Starting point is 01:01:19 It's so rare. I can cook a steak. Not a pan. That's not a meal. That's like the main course, though. In a pan? Yeah. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I'm worried. You don't have a fried steak is good. No, I do have a barbecue. Oh, I see, that's fine. Don't put it in a pan of all the things empty. Oh, my gosh. The thing's empty? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:41 The thing is empty, Rhett. We can't barbecue. Well, there's a few things empty at Jackson's. trying to look here like because no it's just with Maurice so no it's just with Maurice so he comes in at 28 27 27 26 25 24 23 he was an oh HL assistant in like 22
Starting point is 01:02:05 21 22 years old a head coach to be a head coach in your mid-20s in the Ontario league okay won a championship with the Detroit Junior Red Wings the year before. Detroit. He goes to Hartford and becomes an assistant.
Starting point is 01:02:27 Do you get the tutelage of Pierre McGuire along the way or no? Let me see. It was Paul Holmgren. Okay. Was there and then obviously he got, would have got bounced. Like what are guys like Jeff Sanderson and Brendan Shanahan? Shanahan would have been the same age.
Starting point is 01:02:48 Like, this is our coach? Yeah. Give me out of Hartford. What the fuck are we doing here? Fellas. This guy's 26 years old. Yeah. Spall in a rental car in the States that he's coaching our team.
Starting point is 01:02:59 What are we doing? Three years in Hartford. They then moved to Carolina. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven years there. That's a run. Ten years with the York. Yeah. Spent missed a year, one year coaching the Marley's.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Right to the Leafs for two years. Back to Carolina for four. Wow. Was in Winni. for a tonne three four five six seven eight nine ten years in winnipeg ten years in winnipeg 2013 uh 13 14 wow i wouldn't that's more than and then left in uh the 21 22 threw his hands up remember that he's a quitter pretty bitter not a quitter but i don't think he was uh getting along with uh old blake wheeler and company there they had to get some people out of that didn't
Starting point is 01:03:45 want to be there and he was right he was absolutely right yeah and they got real good once those guys left. Left Winnipeg, went to Florida, lost in the finals, won a cup, won a cup. And this is his fourth year as the Panthers head coach. That cup was a big thing because it's like to be a young coach and coach a lot, unreal. But like it's, you need that crown jewel in the, in the resume, right? And that 22, 23, that was the year they beat Boston round one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Right. Top team in the regular season. Because they lost in the finals. 20 points or whatever. They down 3-1 in the series. Burjron gets hurt, game 82 and place her injury. And then they claw back. in game seven down.
Starting point is 01:04:22 Bobber came in, right? Yeah, Alex Lyons started that. He got them into the playoffs, and then Bob went nuclear for the next month, 950, and they went all the way to the cup final. My goodness, what a resume. I mean, it's, Jack, you're at 94-95. That's you right now.
Starting point is 01:04:39 Coach, I was dead when he started. Are you going to win an Oachel championship this year, Jack? I was dead. Holy. I don't think that the Detroit is in the O HL anymore, is it? No, God, no. Crazy. That's how you get to be second all time.
Starting point is 01:05:10 Why did he coach in the K here? That's usually where you go when you get gas. So you see that little mark in the season above, like you would have got gas mid-season. Okay. And they just pay you big dough and then you wait for the right opening when a pig apparently was it for 10 years. Wow.
Starting point is 01:05:27 He'd have spent a lot of time at Polo Park. down at the forks. Maybe Ray and Jerry's Steakhouse Retro? Salisbury House. Are these all Detroit? Watching some, no, Winnipeg. You went to Winnipeg for 10 years.
Starting point is 01:05:43 I don't know any of those places you mentioned. Right, but I've said, went to Winnipeg. So then he would be familiar with Winnipeg. Yeah. All right. Outsi and we want to take the trip on the road? We're going to go to Winnipeg in October? No.
Starting point is 01:05:57 That's a tough sell. No. I don't know. Might have committed to that last night. Damn it. So what happened? Thursday. Thursday's the best day of the week.
Starting point is 01:06:08 I'm not going to, Thursdays. But again, you're, you don't need to tell me. I'm just trying to figure. The one of the family friend, house sitter, babysitter,
Starting point is 01:06:18 the fellas is a musician. And he had a show last night. So I covered the bases and wanted to go see and perform, which was really cool. I see. Starve an artist kind of thing. and incredibly talented. Great show.
Starting point is 01:06:31 You're so supportive. Here we are. Supporting. Yep. Not of your kids. You ignore your kids, but of the other people in your life. Very important for me to get out.
Starting point is 01:06:42 I do not put a chair by the bed and watch them sleep. I apologize. Do you at least put like a nanny cam on when you're, when you've left them at home by themselves? It's a little hit with one of those tack hammers out for eight hours. Let's just put a little whiskey on the gum. All right. And right to sleep with you.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Hearing loss clinic. It's about, you know what? Imagine, we don't know. We don't know what your hearing is. You're going to concerts and stuff. It's got to be some damage in there. Imagine if you were even more socially active and confident and more connected. That's horrifying.
Starting point is 01:07:19 Because that's what it's about at the hearing loss clinic. It's about getting people back out, being social and being active with friends and family. Travis Rhodes, great guy, Rhodesy. He is about giving back to the community, and he's also about making sure that every clinic is the very best. They have five in Calgary. They have five in BC. They continue to grow.
Starting point is 01:07:40 They continue to improve and get better and change people's lives. They've talked about just things like dementia, depression. If you're putting it off, the brain is a funny thing. Health risks like that can arise if you're putting off hearing loss or hearing damage. No reason to do it. Hearingloss.ca, the website's there. There's a location near you. Book yourself in for an assessment today.
Starting point is 01:08:01 Hearing loss. Dot CA. And how was the show? What's the, why don't you give some love to this band or whatever it is? Bennett Mitchell's his name. And it's kind of a, Rhett would really like it.
Starting point is 01:08:10 It's kind of like, uh, pouring your heart out country. He's got the boots on the hat, the John Deere hat, nice old retro cowboy shirt, a bunch of guitars. It was awesome.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Great guy. Where is it playing? Yeah, I don't like to critique you for taking in a good musical act because you're right. Live music's the best, yeah. Just the fact that you ignore your kids is disturbing to me.
Starting point is 01:08:32 Well, then when they sleep, but yes. I feel like we could pull up the odd instance where they were wide awake. It's not for us to judge. Midday. That whole Zippet thing didn't work, didn't it. You did say Zippet. Yeah, we did.
Starting point is 01:08:47 Right. That's on us. That's all right. Good for the show. Sorry, bad for my life, but it's great for the show. Well, Dean, it's time for the Pinda report. Yes. For our good friends in Village Honda.
Starting point is 01:09:04 Did you miss them at the... I did. I was out of town. Cabri Auto Show. Don't worry. They got their own event coming up. It's going to be unreal. No parking. Spin the wheel.
Starting point is 01:09:12 It's already on. Today. Where's the day? And tomorrow. Just Thursday to Saturday. Get up there. Villageana.com for more details. You can check out the 2026 Inven.
Starting point is 01:09:23 Just here. Just read this. Glad I'm glad. print you off shit. Where to go. You have to remove my sheet? Yeah. I think I hit all the talking points.
Starting point is 01:09:32 I got to be honest. Look, Thursday, Saturday, 3D event. Newest Honda models, best savings of the season. Exclusive in dealership incentives. Check them out of village honda.com. Let's start with a game day, friends. The cats are in town. Retro.
Starting point is 01:09:49 Tatero's feeling. Cats in the cradle. Silver spoon. The, uh, yeah. That taros won on the rest. road. Did they floor it at the Ludaduke airport last night, Red, or did they stay in Eminton? What's the move here? Oh, no. They would have flown out right out of that beautiful La Duke airport. Once when I was with the Panthers, we flew out of the Loduk airport, got about
Starting point is 01:10:09 10 minutes in and turned around and went land it again because it was too cold and the flaps wouldn't come down. Right. It was no good. Need the flaps. Maybe they should have just gone to the rum jungle or whatever that place was. Oh, I love the rum jungle. So good. Jack, you've been to the rum jungle. Great people. No. Oh, friendly place. Purple onion. Yeah. That's good stuff. Set over to the website, Flames Nation. What's going on? What are the writers writing about now? Oh, Pike is lobbying for us to cheer for Vegas. It's Pike drunk too with you last night? There's two things here. Because you either want them to be awful or great. You do not want the middle ground. If they win the cup, you get another first rounder. That is the condition on that second rounder that was already with a first in Vegas.
Starting point is 01:10:52 I'm happy to cheer from them to win the cup. I just don't look at them right now and see any chance. They look like horseshit, yeah. It's not been a good regular season for them, and they have not been getting saves. Some interesting numbers coming up when we go through the other town scoreboard for last night. We'll get to that in a second.
Starting point is 01:11:08 The other side is, well, if they're really, really bad, you do hold their first this year, and you could have another dart in the old. I feel that's the way. The ping pong says the lottery bills. Yeah, I'm with you, D. Imagine the, oh, yeah, that'd be great, hey? Two picks in the top 60s.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Connie. Connie, Fidde. Because they are not winning at an incredible rate, Harry, right now. And it's not like they deserve to win and have been foiled by their netminder, like Ottawa that Dregs talked about. It's just they look uninspired. They are not the physical intimidating team that I think people wanted their DNA to be. It's a turn around for Kelly McCrvin there. Or is this a one-off?
Starting point is 01:11:48 It's a good question. I think Kelly will clean house and just up or. rude everyone. I don't think he's well he's not hesitant to do it but the more guys you get on the wrong side of 30 locked into huge money deals the heart of that game becomes he's also be ruthless but I don't
Starting point is 01:12:04 know what like what's your market for a Tomash hurdle for example if you had I mean fair enough but he's also a guy if I was looking at the team we made the decision okay we need to pivot he's the GM or one of them that I would want to yep oh 100% pull the strings on it. It's been a
Starting point is 01:12:20 miserable year and I think they missed two years ago it's the only year they missed the playoffs in franchise history. This would be two of three. Fingers crossed. I don't think they're going to miss, but yeah, I don't think they're going to win the cup. You know what? L.A. is sneakily just picking up points here. We'll look at the out of town score.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Well, they fired their coach. Brought him Panarin. Finally out from under their goofy couch. Yeah, an old Jim Hiller just playing 4D of the playoffs in the seven-game series against McDavid. How'd that go? Do we. Oh, I challenge that, hey? Yeah, you definitely want that team on the power play again.
Starting point is 01:12:51 Okay, here's the flame stat from Bobby Germany. Now, we know that the backland line always does the heavy lifting for this team. There are only three players in the flames who have outscored their opponents in five-on-five. There's a lot of guys that suited up with the red jersey this year. Backland, Coleman, Pahall have outscored competition on a team that is 32nd in scoring the NHL and underdogs most nights. Impressive results for those three. it is a bit odd that, you know, they're stacked on the right with young guys.
Starting point is 01:13:24 You got Restevich there. You got Perk there. You've had White Cloud Weger and Anderson already's. Hall has, like, he's probably an okay year. And yet he's buried here. Yeah, they don't play him a ton for sure. I thought he was a super candidate to move at the deadline and didn't happen. Well, I did too.
Starting point is 01:13:43 But I guess I didn't realize. Like he'd be a great seven somewhere, right? Like just late pick, get him a spot. where you're going to get in the playoffs, you're going to run into injuries, you need a guy. Retnows, 04, you couldn't have enough D. He's got another year. I didn't realize like 1.187 is that? It's tiny money.
Starting point is 01:14:02 It doesn't feel like it's a lot to take on, but I guess. Ditto Hanley was kind of running into the same thing on the left side now that you got Oli mat, ball, and the emergence of his nets up. Anyway, interesting stats there. That's an impressive feather in the cap of Coleman Backl and Pahal to be above sea level on this team this year. We'll keep moving. One of the prospects that we have not talked about a lot this year is Henry Mews. He's a phenomenal right shot D man that, well, had a season-ending injury in the fall. He was one of the top prospects in the organization.
Starting point is 01:14:32 It's kind of forgotten with all the depth of the organization and him not playing games and not being up for awards and not, you know, where's he going to play next year? Skating last week. All right. This is a good player, Rhett. I think he's an NHLer. I know that it's a ways away and he's missed an important developmental year with injury, but they continue to have kids on the right that look like Henny Cheller's on the blue line. Yeah, third round in the Perek-Gridan draft. That draft looks unreal, man.
Starting point is 01:15:03 Basha, Pataglia, who they've traded. Yeah. And then Muse in round three. I guess this would fall into the Muse News category. Muse News. News. Let's go to the schedule. Three wins.
Starting point is 01:15:19 in March. We said it. Settle down, Huska. They got the Panthers tonight. Lightning Kings, ducks, Canucks. That closes the six-game homestand. They then go on a six-game road trip. Two trips to Denver on the one road trip. Also, Vegas, Anaheim, Dallas, Seattle. That's not an easy one. We keep losing, fellas, but keep working hard. That airline win is looking no good in this. I think that that was a, we just got a big win in Ebbington. And, And who's next? I don't worry about these guys. I have the sense of looking at a happen,
Starting point is 01:15:55 but it doesn't mean I like it. No, I agree. They scored five. Well, they don't lose that. They score four. Guaritrediting. Score three. 54 in a row or something crazy.
Starting point is 01:16:05 Let's take a look at the Panthers. They are limping in terms of the bodies they've been missing. No Barkov moves everyone up a slot in the middle. That was probably the NBA of the league down the middle when you could go Barkov, Bennett, Lundell. No, they don't have Barkob. all year. They have half a year without Matthew Kachuk. And there's been other significant injuries as well. Old friend A.J. Greer was a good flame, but he, uh, what,
Starting point is 01:16:28 busted a bone in his leg or sprained something. They couldn't turn him into an asset at the deadline. He left as a free agent. He's been great as a Panther. Uh, scored last night, I believe. Yeah. It was 48 games for Kachuk that he missed. Marshand is out now. No Barkov all year. Uh, Ryan Hart has missed three. So. And there's cool. There's, they're thin right now. But, other Ryan Hart. Coming off a lopsided win in Edmonton. They are returning some bodies as well. Seth Jones has missed a bunch of time, but he's finally back on the blue line.
Starting point is 01:16:57 He's been their best, the defenseman when he's been healthy this year, but has missed significant time. Let's take a look at the D pairs since I'm talking about defensemen, Jack. You're awesome. Forrestling, Eckblad, Mikala. Jones is back. Kulikov and Betikulkov also missed significant time this year. They've been just absolutely ravaged. And you get it. Three years and already playing the cup final? You got all these guys going to play Olympics.
Starting point is 01:17:21 Mika La for Finland, for example. They had 10 players at the Olympics. Four nations. Exactly. Yeah, like a lot of hockey for this crew. They're not a young team. They don't have much in the prospect cupboard, but I don't know that they're dead yet
Starting point is 01:17:36 because this is just playing more hockey than anyone else in the league the last three years was going to catch up to you at some point. Goaltenders. Bobbers had a bit of an off year. Tarasov, they brought in from Columbus. Russian netminer that was highly touted with CBJ and Tulesy. We'll see. Barkov out, Schwint out.
Starting point is 01:17:57 Gadjavik, tough as nails. He's out. Marshan, their acquisition of the Deadline Cup champ, twice over now. And Reinhardt, day to day. And this is them healthy, relatively speaking, because they just got Seth Jones back and Kachuk came back before the Olympics. We'll keep moving.
Starting point is 01:18:17 The West standings look like this today, fellas. a look at the bottom. The Kings are in. Seattle's out. We're waiting for it. No one believes in the Crackin. And the King's doing just enough to get in there. Don't go look at these point totals and try to get them in the playoffs in the East. That ain't going to work. But I don't mind LA being in. That's an interesting. I'd rather L.A. with Copacar than Seattle with no one I know. Yeah. Seattle is just the most melbatose team in the NHL. There's no emotions go away. And for a while, it was that about a month ago. We looked at the three. six five projections and they had Seattle nowhere, it wasn't even in that goal. All the models hated them.
Starting point is 01:18:55 And they were in a playoff spot. They were in the past. Yeah, for a while. I still wonder about the sand. Hose sharks. They've had a couple tough ones. Last night they get blanked by Buffalo and they also lost in Edmonton, which really would have tightened the gap and give them a chance.
Starting point is 01:19:10 They might just be out of fuel, fellas. And they are young as hell in celebrating. Clearly, the emotion is showing he's shattering his sticks at the end of losses. But it just might not be yet. for this up and coming time. They want two points back with a game in hand. They can do it. To Foley got hurt last night.
Starting point is 01:19:28 And I'll say this. If you want to go just straight vibes entertainment, Colorado San Jose would be epic in round one. If they can get to Wild Card 2. Sure. Like, might not be a long series, but it will not be boring. I mean, Utah looks like you can buy your playoff tickets. No question.
Starting point is 01:19:47 There's enough gap there. And they will get the one scene in the Pacific. that they probably have decent odds to have a better regular season then. You look at the point total. They played one more game than Anaheim. They have the same number of points. One's a wild card. The other team theoretically could be winning the division.
Starting point is 01:20:01 It's crazy. Don't look past that wildcard one versus specific winner because closer than the standings would. Oh, it's a wild card. This would be a walkover. Nah. Let's go to the east. Crazy things are happening out there. Last year we saw the Calgary Flames missed the playoffs with 96 points.
Starting point is 01:20:17 Look at the pace here, fellas. They are like, what, 12? points clear, the cutoff in the West. Boston, Detroit, still clinging to those wild cards. CBJ slides into the three hole in the metro. The aisles are out. Oh, I kind of want to see Schaefer in the playoffs, boys, in that new rank. But it, uh, can we get rid of Boston and Detroit, please?
Starting point is 01:20:43 It's going to be a- winning big game. Yeah, it's got to be a Scream, man. Lit up Hella buck. And look at the percentage. You imagine mission the playoffs at 600 points percentage that has never happened in the league before, which brings us, let's get to this point.
Starting point is 01:20:58 The Pacific cutoff, yeah, the top team in the Pacific would be 11th in the east. I don't know what this accomplishes. It just shows you that I understand it. Yeah, unbalanced. But no teams will play each other until the Cup final. No, it's just like if you're, like the New York Islanders might get,
Starting point is 01:21:17 they're on pace for 99 points and missing. 96 is the record. The flames tied it last year by using a tie break. That is just bad luck when you can have a 90-night point season and miss somehow. Now look, they might get their shit together and someone else will fall off. But we are going to see a very, very good team miss in the East because of how good it's been. And in the West, it's like, yeah, you barely over 500 while you get home ice in the Pacific. It's wild.
Starting point is 01:21:46 Yeah. And again, it doesn't mean anything. It's just an odd thing to note. bottom 10. Let's look at the flames. Chicago doing some work last night, Dino. Got one. Oh, well, look at the Chicago. Get out of there. Beat the wild. Well done.
Starting point is 01:22:00 Three points out of four against the wild because they went to beyond regulation in the first of the back to back. And three points separating the Rangers in the flames. Bit of a cushion there. I like it, but the Duke Flames do have a game in hand. So settle down tonight, Huska. That's right. That's right. Finals from last night.
Starting point is 01:22:15 Dean, tell us about the hockey. We watched there was so much of it. while we talk about the Bruins, 2-0 and 2 in their last 4, passes on a 12-game point streak. The Jets, they know what the, they lost 4-6. They're on the program.
Starting point is 01:22:30 The senators got a game winning out of Brady Kachuk with 13 seconds left. Boom. It stings, the aisles, that far from a point. That close, I should say. Ottawa, 3 of 4, and 12, 3 and 2 in their last 17. It was the rhyme dog in that for the Sands there. He's been an interesting fine,
Starting point is 01:22:48 because he hardly played. He was a Spengler Cup and was not like on a team in the fall. Like Drager had said, Sends were very good last night. Shots 11-1, Ottawa in the third period. Matthew Schaefer scores. He's got 21 goals and hits the 50 point mark. He is two goals away
Starting point is 01:23:04 from tying the D-Man goal scoring record. That was Brian Leach. He had 23. Yeah, and he didn't do it as an 18-year-old if I recall. Yeah. Red Wings, they beat the Habs. So if you're wanting this Boston, Detroit thing to go away, it's not how it's going. Wings have won back to back.
Starting point is 01:23:20 Habs have lost three of four. Columbus, it's an 11-game point streak. 7-0-4, Fantilli. Lace. Two goals, Warensky, three helpers. Greaves, 22 saves. They're now third in the Metro, tied with the Islanders with 83 points,
Starting point is 01:23:36 but a game in hand. You mentioned the Hawks, they win. Caprisoff, a scratch, day-to-day, lower-body injury, Wilde have lost four of five. And they get the hottest team in the NHL, potentially in Dallas, around one.
Starting point is 01:23:48 on Quinn Hughes has been quiet lately. Good job, Preds. They beat the Cracken. Crackin have lost back to back at six of eight. We don't like them. Panthers, we talked about 4-0 over the Oilers. Coogne, Bobber win 454, tying him with Coogh for seventh all time in terms of goal he wins. Tampa.
Starting point is 01:24:09 Getting right. Cooch and Sorrelli, one goal and two helpers. Kuturov, eight points in his last two games. He's second in league scoring. three ahead of Nate, one back of McDoo. One back. Yeah. And you had that said the other day. The last 45 games the hottest run since Mario. Yeah, it's
Starting point is 01:24:28 we've not seen anything like this in a long time. The four back of Buffalo and four ahead of Montreal. Games in hand on Buffalo too. Jake Gensel, your buddy, Jackie Boy, hit 30 goals last night. He had 41 last year.
Starting point is 01:24:46 I don't talk enough about, I guess a lot of goals in your first two seasons as a free agent signing. When you look back at them deciding between keeping Stamcoe and Gensel, they look smart. And Stamco is having a great year, but yes, Gensel, yes. Headman did miss the second and third. He was injured before the Olympics, went to the Olympics, then wasn't playing, and so there's something up there.
Starting point is 01:25:08 Utah 4-0. They beat Vegas. Keller with two in the first period. Vamilka, 28 saves. Aidan Hill allowed three goals on three shots. That's so perfect. Yikes. Flames have that first.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Vegas has been blanked in back-to-back games at home. Oh, man. They lost to, uh, the vibes are off there. Big time. Not great. What is up with Stone? Is he coming back? I think he returned, but at this time of year,
Starting point is 01:25:41 we see ice melt on the streets and Stone go to IR on and off. Sabers, three in a row. 11 of 12, back-to-back shutout wins. They beat Vegas 2-0 the other night. Lion 23 saves. He's won 10 straight road starts. Goodness. So that's impressive.
Starting point is 01:26:01 And you get ahead. We need to make our itinerary for Buffalo. We need a full wing restaurant. You're on it. Good. Full confidence. There are 4.1 in their last five are the Flyers. They're six back of Detroit.
Starting point is 01:26:15 Kings are 4, 3, and 2 since they fired their head coach. Picking up points. As we saw, they did some leaf-frogging of the Cracken in the division. Here's one for you. We know Colorado was lights out the first half of the year. Just okay coming out of the Olympics. Still trying to figure out where Naz fits, all that stuff. They're not at fifth gear yet, but yeah, they can clinch today.
Starting point is 01:26:41 Yeah. They're very good. Oh, yeah, if you just get a point tonight, and I think they got the Hawks, We'll take the schedule in a sec. Spitballing. I think it's a hawks. But a point we'll get them in. It's been an incredible year,
Starting point is 01:26:56 despite what's been just an ordinary run for them the last month or so. Yeah, like their last 10 is 6, 3 and 1. And for them, that feels. Months before they had three regulation losses. So go to the games tonight. Hit the tunes, Dino, plays. All right, all right.
Starting point is 01:27:13 Paul Maurice Bowl at the top, but it's fine to play. It definitely is the Palmary's ball. Ron Francis. All very good. Jeff O'Neill. Patrick Marlowe. that costs them Seth Jarvis, the pick that they went with Marlowe to dump the cap.
Starting point is 01:27:25 Didn't play for Carolina. Correct. Yeah, that's fair point. Devils Capitals. Ooh. Is this a Patrick division? Yeah, it would. Not in the day. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:40 Oh, geez. Oh, geez. Oh. Jack, I'm too hung over to do this. Tell us a. devil and a capital. Yager. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:00 Was he a cap? What? Yager. He was definitely a devil. He was absolutely a capital. He was he a devil. You're right. He went there. He was dog-ass and then went to Rangers was better again. Okay, good. Avs and Blackhawks, I was right.
Starting point is 01:28:16 Loud right. I'll take one. Who do we know if it's played for both of these teams? Jim Cummins. Yes. Pro Scout for the Flames, I believe still. Really? Panteros and Flames, this one hurts. We don't need to say the name.
Starting point is 01:28:39 We'll move on and pretend we didn't see it. Ducks and Mammuz. You mean Jason Weimer? That's not the one I was taking up, but that is correct. It was obviously Cole Schwint. Let's keep my feet. Docs mammoths. Ducks Coyotes
Starting point is 01:29:03 That's what you have to think, right? Yeah. Oh, boy. Shouldn't be this hard? No. We're very tired. So tired, hey. Jack, what's happening?
Starting point is 01:29:16 What? That was me. I dropped my cup. Oh, I thought. I just wondered, I just wonder what the hell happened with Jack? I hope a goddamn heads in it. Feel bad.
Starting point is 01:29:29 This should be, come on now. Coyotes and, geez, ducks. Fellas. I am not like I've not. than anything remotely. No idea. What's your deal today? Why are you a bag of dicks?
Starting point is 01:29:44 This is where we count on you, Jack. The one spot we fall soft here. All right, we're gonna go to this conference. Drome? Should I pull up the chat? Strom. Just saying names. There's too many, like, I don't know if that was the crossover.
Starting point is 01:30:04 Ducks. What about Jim McKenzie? Jim McKenie. David Carpa. Ilya Bergellov, thank you, chat. He's a great thing. That's going to work. Brzgalov.
Starting point is 01:30:23 Yeah, Bursgallov. Why you have to be? Why are you so mad? Oh, why is to be mad? It's just a hockey. That was an uninspiring. I was five games. Oh, he struggled with worse with smaller lineups.
Starting point is 01:30:40 I think so. Yeah. Yeah. You need to get the flow going. Also, none of us feel good. Some of us are hung over and ill. Yeah, right. You shouldn't get drunk when you're sick.
Starting point is 01:30:50 learn your lessons. Let's go to the major leagues of baseball, where we're just what a week away from opening day. That's exciting. Jack, your pirates could be very, very good this year. They've been an elite staff,
Starting point is 01:31:06 a bunch of young players that got skeins, excitement level around the pirates. I am pretty excited about the team. I think we're going to deck you out in full gear. I'm very confused about this hoist, cone thing. Okay, so they have a new slogan. Hoist is a weird word. I think it has something to do with lifting. It's right. Hoist a flag. Yes. A cone,
Starting point is 01:31:30 not David Cone, not cone heads. Ice cream. I have a tough time with this one. Hoist. The cone. Hoist. Well, Dean bought a hoist on Kijiji. I thought those are ramps. Oh, I would love a hoist. God, that'd be great. I can't fit it. Can't do it. Not enough for a new garage. No. You need a shop. If anyone has a shop, they'd like to donate to.
Starting point is 01:31:52 Hoist the cone. This guy's got... This guy's gonna survive. This fellow. Natix and Nike just put out a new shirt for the Pittsburgh Pirates that says, hoist the cone? I've been a Pirates fan my entire life. I don't know what hoist the cone means.
Starting point is 01:32:10 Our friends at Pittsburgh Clothing Company are the ones that caught this. They suggest maybe this is a callback to 2019. and they serve pulled pork and barbecue sauce and parochies and a waffle cone. I mean, pirates hoist colors, right? The pirates hoist the colors. Maybe there's a copyright issue in there. You know, Pirates of the Caribbean can't really say that, whatever. I don't know, but I also don't know what hoist the cone means.
Starting point is 01:32:42 There's nothing in like Pittsburgh culture or lore that, involves a cone. Oh, and on top of not knowing what this means, it's going to cost you $45, too. So, Jack, I'm excited for the pirates. They're going to be young and exciting, but no one has a clue what the hell their slogan is. That's American dollars, too, Jack.
Starting point is 01:33:06 I'd get you one, but that's American. That's a lot of dope. That's like 60 bucks. I'm going to find me some vintage gear because I'm not really feeling the hoist the cone vibe. What the hell does that mean, Dean? I think it's doing what they want. We're talking about it.
Starting point is 01:33:23 Yeah. Geniuses. If it was like, you know, Yarmaties, so that it'd be like, oh, that's, obviously the pirates. Got it. And what you'll be walking the bank?
Starting point is 01:33:31 Because even the, even the pirate fans are, what are we doing here? It's, it's drawing attention. By the way, what did they put in the cone that year? Brofes.
Starting point is 01:33:40 Oh, my God. Did that sound good? That did kind of sound good. Oh, this is good. Parogi's wafel cone with savory in there. This is right. A little bit of sweet, lots of savors. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:33:51 It's like a chicken waffles deal. Yeah, that did very much. Right. Hoist the cone, I'm in. Hoist the co. Sure. What the hell that means? It's hot Jack Summer, as we found out yesterday.
Starting point is 01:34:04 That was Cabby that tech coined that? I was Cabby, yeah. I hope he trademarked it because things are happening on the internet now. Nice. Jack, you've been in the gym. Look at this. I don't know you had a cat. That's a cool cat.
Starting point is 01:34:15 Miao. That's a cool cat. That is a cool cat. And that is very much what our studio is. Those are the McLeod Law Studios there for the summer. We'll be, uh, Jack will be from his, uh, lake in the back here. Well, by myself. Put a shirt on, Jack.
Starting point is 01:34:31 Settled out. I know you're happy about your pectorals, but it's like Connie at the gym meeting. He's just going tarps off in the gym. Connie just crushing, hey? Yeah. Stacked. What's in your drink there? I see that, uh, is that noodles with his coconut drink at the beach?
Starting point is 01:34:45 He's so angry. He can't be. Yeah. I think, yeah, hates vacation. Teas and peace, the nails. I think that starts today's on vacation. Yeah, so I'm like that. I have a tough goal.
Starting point is 01:34:55 Listen, you got a umbrella drink going to happy, happy hot Jack summer there, Jackie boy. How's this guy? Like, I'm an eight on confidence. Come on, Jack, you're a 10. It's not, it's hot Jack summer. It's true. It's still waiting you up here.
Starting point is 01:35:07 We've got to get you ready, okay? By then when I look like that. Yes, so we're going to get you to six and then a seven and then eight and then stampede hits and it's hot jack summer. Can't wait. And also, we talked about it. One of the things that might get his mojo back, he has to visit the sins of yesteryear.
Starting point is 01:35:24 This is the 9-99 the Mets have unrolled. I like that you see everything there. I hate the idea of drinking a warm beer two hours after it was poured. It's a good point, Ryan. So are they doing this every game? You could just do it when it was. That is just go buy one. You don't have to go to New York for this, Jack.
Starting point is 01:35:45 We'll just, we'll head to Greta. or something. I kind of want to go there for that. I think the Mets is a sneaky good stadium too, City Field. Been there, don't remember a lot about it. Sounds not a sharp. I'll take it back.
Starting point is 01:35:57 That looks like some VIP area too. You got the windows jack. I'm in. Yeah. Why are you only putting mustard on five of those dogs? That's some Brent Cron bald dog going on there. It's weird bald dogs. It's only like a bald dog.
Starting point is 01:36:12 And finally, we'll close the Pender Report with a little. little Australia culture. Now, some of these kids live in the Opaq, they deal with snakes and spiders, all kinds of animals trying to kill them. They're a little tougher, a little younger.
Starting point is 01:36:25 Check in. What are you doing, Ryan? I'm fixing my back. Because why? Because I fucked it. You what? I said I fucked it. How did you do that?
Starting point is 01:36:38 I pedal backwards. And what did you learn? Fucking random falling down. So now your algorithm is just kids. His kids dropping F-Doms. And it's Ozzy, too. It just hits the Venn diagram. Well, this was, in fairness, this was what your kids were doing last night.
Starting point is 01:36:54 Walking around in dirt, barefoot, swearing at each other. Where's dad? Hey, mate. Where's dad? That's your fender part this Friday, March 20th. The big buy-in is on. Two million bucks they're spending on cars.
Starting point is 01:37:11 They want yours, Dean. Any make, any model, any year. Maybe you've got an extra vehicle. Maybe you've got an expiring lease. Don't take it to that deal you got it from. Go see Village Honda first. Complementary appraisal start the process at village honda.com in the Northwest Automall. It's your dealership for life.
Starting point is 01:37:26 There you have it. There you have it. So what are your plans for the weekend? They're a Sicky Sickerson. He's got to go to Shelby. Well, there's a game in Edmonton tonight. I should be going to. I don't think I will. I'm supposed to go to Saskatoon for the Kelly Chase,
Starting point is 01:37:45 Mark Watson, Jersey. retirement ceremony, which I'm not going to attend. And then, uh, so I'm going to, I'm going to hunker in and, uh, yeah, on the couch, in my dog, find a series to watch and. Yeah. Yeah. It's about it. You and Jack should watch a series like at the same time and you can talk about it because
Starting point is 01:38:07 we've tried to get him to read. He's not. I won. But he's very good at watching. I feel like reads. We're done with any clubs to do with Jack. Jack's movie, like, because the book club has. been a disaster.
Starting point is 01:38:17 Do you want to start the Sopranos again, Red? You could watch out with Jenny. You know, the TV club, the, I just, I don't have faith that it's going to go much better. Jack's TV binge. I feel fear, right? Was this the double goose when you look back? Is this the double-cutter-cooked? It's got to be, and apparently it's out there.
Starting point is 01:38:36 Lots of people, uh, ill lately. Did the double goose or just people not feeling well? I don't think it had anything to do with the double goose. Yeah. The double goose was, the goose was cooked. it wasn't, I don't know why. The goose wasn't expired. Was one goose more overdone than the other?
Starting point is 01:38:57 Friday was more. Saturday, I mean, lights were up by 1130 like we're talking about. Yeah. I feel for your buddy. I know how much you wanted to go to Edmonton this weekend. I love Edmonton.
Starting point is 01:39:12 That jerky is so good. Yeah. Anytime you can go to Albanian amusement park. They've gotten them all there. Oh, they've got a bus going up there. Time travels. It didn't even have to drive. I could have just ridden the bus.
Starting point is 01:39:24 Just hop on a thing, yeah. That's a shame. Being the shoveler sitting in the back. Yeah. Don't finish that thought. Leave the kids home alone, right, Bender? That's fine. Just finish sleeping right.
Starting point is 01:39:40 That's worse. Potentially. Zip it. I forgot about the zip it. Truck month is on now at GMC. If you want something reliable, tough and ready, for whatever the schedule throws at you. It's the 2026 Sierra 500
Starting point is 01:39:55 pro-graphite crew cab in a nutshell. It can be yours for 0% financing for 72 months, a factory 2-inch lift kit, off-road suspension, 5.3-liter V8. This is one ready for anything truck. Don't miss out. Go to your local GMC dealer and take advantage of Truck Month before it ends.

Starting point is 01:40:58 Yeah. He smoked that? Yeah. That used to be a thing, though. Guys would be they'd smoke because they were radio guys. Well, you got to smoke. You smoke her? No.
Starting point is 01:41:09 Did to get those pipes. You got to get the pipes. You got to get your vocals, getting all covered with phlegm and. That's right. And schputz. Because that's how it's, uh, that's the key. Flemm and schbutz. That's the key to those pipes.
Starting point is 01:41:20 So that's my plans for the weekend. Pick up smoking. Grab some decks of darts and. Jack's got some menthol's laying around. Yeah, he does. They're still here. He might have hit them on his dad to serve it, drying out. Yeah, drying out.
Starting point is 01:41:37 Foot daddy wouldn't have been impressed. Methyl's Jack. I'm so disappointed. I know. Couldn't get the reds. Mentfalls, eh? Is that a bitch stick? This is a skinny one.
Starting point is 01:41:48 time for the bets of the day for Bet365. Hockey fans, tired of waiting for the end of the game to get paid, ready to move on to the next puck drop. Yep. That's why Bet365, an official partner. The NHL has three-goal early payout. If the team you're riding goes up three goals at any point in the game, they'll pay your bet out early.

Download the app and see what early. early payouts all about must be 19 or older. Please play it responsibly. Fellas, it's unavoidable. Matthew Kachuk's back in town and we know how he rolls. He loved it here. He shouted out flames.
Starting point is 01:42:32 He also did get the hell out of here when he wanted to. And he has a way of being Matthew Kachuck that no one else really can do. I'm hitting the anytime goal of plus 180. We'll see if it happens tonight. And I've liked the cut of young Matt Bay Gridden's jib of late. The line was buzzing against Detroit. Didn't play a ton in the opener of the homestand, but did get that shootout winner. It feels like the Mo is flowing. It's got the good karma going right now.
Starting point is 01:42:57 We're going to have two shots and a point. Parlay those plus 275. Two shots. Come on. Does my best sound feels like it's easy. Yeah. Good bets. We hit last night as well because we had the Columbus and Buffalo both puck lines,
Starting point is 01:43:13 minus one and a half. No sweat. Outscored the opponents, I think, eight two. We'll take it. A nice little week. hockey moves fast. It's the three goal early payout. One less thing to worry about.
Starting point is 01:43:24 Bet 365. Download the app and see what early payouts all about must be 19 or older. Please play responsibly. Pantaro's in town. And you're not going to see the Pantera's. Your team's in town. God, you're missing out a lot.
Starting point is 01:43:37 Can't go see the Panteros. It's rude. And they want me there. I don't want to be rude and an agist are trying to make you look old. But is there a person in the organization that was there when you were played that still there because they've gone through a bunch of owners and a lot of it's not been a
Starting point is 01:43:53 it's been steady for what five to six years but prior to that tumultuous highly doubtful i wouldn't because like well buffalo comes in you still got some guys that are in the order 30 years ago yeah right buffalo too though right it's a long time ago there's been lots of changes i would i know i'm like georgie's obviously in buffalo but i and lindy and lindy Did you play with Barkoff? I'm trying to remember. Yeah. He's out.
Starting point is 01:44:23 He was probably not born. He was dead, yeah. You didn't play with Mackie Samaskevich? No, Mackey. No, his dad. Yeah. I think Mackey was probably, like, he would have been dead then too.
Starting point is 01:44:37 Probably, yeah. You ever think about that? Like, Jack was dead when you were playing? Well, I'm soon to be dead by the looks of it. So, I mean. Well, you'll be better tomorrow. Huh. Let's do this.
Starting point is 01:44:47 No one got any. fancy stuff I should take. I'm open to suggest. You're going to say you got everything in you already. You're the man for the fancy stuff. Yeah, I'm not sure who. I feel like all the drugs are fighting each other right now. They're not working on you.
Starting point is 01:45:01 All the guys that I reach out to that are cooks like me, all sick too. So it's really working well. That's probably the chemtrails, eh? Yeah. You said it's a Calgary. Cooke's like me. It's a good album title.
Starting point is 01:45:16 Yeah. R7 Radar 714. Oh dear. It's like $5. The oil is getting effed in their own barn is amazing to see, eh? Before nothing, yeah. I'm okay with it and just a little extra salt with it being the Pantaros in a season where they've been miserable, just looking like themselves for one night.
Starting point is 01:45:38 Beautiful stuff. I didn't pay attention to it, but I had it on and it did look very lob sighted. One team was better again. than the other team. Well, if Connor doesn't want to get points, they're not going to win, Dean. You told us, I was going to say it's almost time to,
Starting point is 01:45:52 010 and 2. To fire out that does McDevin even care about winning narrative? It doesn't seem like he does. If you did, he'd get a point last night. Feel like you'd have some wins, but it. Flames enjoy your five bucks.
Starting point is 01:46:04 Fell! I'm in Olds for a tournament. Spelling. Going to my first game tonight. Hope to God, Perrek, isn't scratched. Say hi to Jay Rose Hill, would you?
Starting point is 01:46:13 When you're in Olds? Yeah. And his brother. Flame great. in olds for a tournament go grizzlies what kind of turn is like what kind of tournament are we talking about like a kids a kid tournament
Starting point is 01:46:28 the old year end tournament there's lots of provincials going on dean anybody headed to cold lake oh oh cold lake how do you know you ever been to cold lake no it sounds chilly I don't
Starting point is 01:46:44 not appealing yeah you're cold Plunge guy. You might like it. Shout out Tabor, Alberta. Pick for Kraft Hockeyville. No way. RJD2. Nice.
Starting point is 01:46:54 RJD2. They won? Music. Well, I'm going off of what RJD2 was going at here. Yeah, he spent almost three bucks. It's got to be true. You could be loud wrong, but I'll fact check it at some point over the weekend.
Starting point is 01:47:08 No, you won't. That's okay, though. That's a big deal for Tabor. I hope so. Where is Tabor? Ryan Fujita. Oh. Fuge. Fudge.
Starting point is 01:47:19 You don't know where Tabor is or you being a smart ass? I kind of don't know where Tabor is. Is it close to Manhattan and, uh, Shepulpa, Brooks, Lethbridge, Brooks. It's kind of,
Starting point is 01:47:28 is it Nort, a little bit north, Lethbridge, north east or west? Has it said, Deseltz, Zubberta. Say,
Starting point is 01:47:36 that's ex, Fuge. Where are you from, dude? Tabor. Good corn there, Jack. Check it out.
Starting point is 01:47:41 Let's see where this is. It's not ready for a few months. Which is different than Hannah. Yeah. Different town. I was supposed to be going through Hannah this year or this weekend. Oh, there we are. All right.
Starting point is 01:47:52 So there's Tabor. Did that say the Tabor airport? Airport. Oh, yeah. Dickie's barbecue. It's good. Yes, please. That's like the number one spot.
Starting point is 01:48:01 That boy, Dickie. Free shoutouts. Okay, we're, you got a church. That's great. Dairy queen. Thank God. Yeah, it's,
Starting point is 01:48:07 you have the doomsday ideas. They can help you there. Yeah, there's a. Oh, look at that. He's to the Windy City. L.A. baby. That's where Jack flunked out, and I gained all my
Starting point is 01:48:17 wisdom let's bridge alberta there's bassano mike toth sweet home bassano mike toth yes duchess vauxhall picture beaut it's a lovely part of the world down there vulcan's got the old star trek thing going everywhere there too yeah that's nice jack well good job lake look at that jack taper lake i don't know if you want to swim in that in august it looks nice on a map looks beautiful there yeah Don't see any cabins on it. I'm wondering what's happening here. It's hard to say.
Starting point is 01:48:54 Slu. Private. Private area. Private at Tabor Lake. Don't want you going out there. No, God, no. With your boom box making a bunch of noise. Jack with a shirt off.
Starting point is 01:49:04 Jared, 10 bucks. Phyllis! Will you be attending the Daryl Sutter farm equipment sale in late June in Viking? Tractors, bailers, livestock equipment, no joke. Tinfoil had time. What does that mean? Are you making a return to hockey? He needs to sell all of his farm equipment.
Starting point is 01:49:26 I think he's probably got a nice shiny new stuff. He's getting rid of the old stuff. I'd be a banger of an event up to Viken there. I blame Brett. Yeah, if he wasn't so worried about being a coach, it could be passing the farm on down. Yeah, it's your own fault kid. Short-sighted.
Starting point is 01:49:46 Is he wondering what a tinfoil hat is referenced to? Is he trying to ask what that alludes to? I think he's saying conspiracy theory, what does this mean? I see what you're saying. Okay. Yeah, yeah. I think it just means he's got a new gear. I think he's probably retiring.
Starting point is 01:50:02 Maybe. I think you can rent out the land and, you know, but you can sell off your gear. And, you know, Darrell, he got fired before that last contract kicked in. I'm not sure. It's not hard up for cash, I'm guessing. Well, I just wonder. Is that contract over? Just.
Starting point is 01:50:22 We love your big D. How'd a boy. Love you, do you know what? Big D don't, go ahead, yuck it up. I'm the one who's getting paid to wash up my tractors and get them ready for the big sale. Too shmell to brew coffee and look out over the hills. Not bad. Is that it?
Starting point is 01:50:40 Yeah. Yeah. There you go. Super chat for the U. Centers of Calgary. People want to do the thing. You were going to do the math for us. So walk us through the tankathon math.
Starting point is 01:50:50 No. Huh? No. You said it. You said yesterday. It's important to set the precedent of me disappointing you and not falling through. Oh, okay. We got another super chat.
Starting point is 01:51:02 Hey, well, hey guys to give you one of these. Yeah. Justin. Imagine what amazing team the flames could be as a premier destination. Only about two more weeks to sign the Alberta petition for anyone that's interested. I'm not sure that ties into the hockey team, but okay.
Starting point is 01:51:22 I'm not even sure what he's talking about. Is there something? Wins have changed, Dean. Their wins of change. That's the anger of a song, yeah. So you didn't do the math. You didn't do that right now. Oh, you don't need to.
Starting point is 01:51:43 It's the tankathon. What it does is every day there's hockey games played and those results impact the overall NHL standings. And those overall standings, of course. Well, that's what you factor in when you're, doing the draft lottery if you're Gary Bettman. So he's like, crack and they lose. Oh, really? That's interesting. Nashville, they went. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:52:03 Chicago. Oh, okay. Now, the flames were idle, but they do sit there in the 31st spot in the National Hockey League, which means they are second on this list. Had a good day yesterday. The probability of picking first overall, 13.6%. The flames won this son of a gun yesterday. Oh, we were so good yesterday. Did you figure out the numbers, Ryan? You have a 13.
Starting point is 01:52:31 Let's go, Jack. Let's take a look and see. Winnipeg wins the draft lottery. St. Louis. Gets a major bump as Vancouver falls to three from the one spot and the flames drop to four, which has been the most likely outcome. Yep.
Starting point is 01:52:51 and yes. Which again, going back to yesterday, that my only point was, just that we're talking to people, maybe it's the people that I talk to, was that if you don't win the lottery, does that mean we're falling to four? And it's,
Starting point is 01:53:07 well, it seems like you're falling to four. The thing that is hard to wrap your head around is you're like, oh, the team at the bottom has the best odds of winning the lottery. But they're still like 75% most likely it's not winning the lottery.
Starting point is 01:53:20 That's the part that's hard to, well, they're the best odds, but the rest of the field is three times more likely than them to win, which is very unusual. It feels like it's a bit of a bummer. We'll see how the lottery balls bounce. How much did they put in that envelope for Gary
Starting point is 01:53:36 when he was in town? Gary's got her back. I think so. You like that new profit center they're building there. Yeah. Well, we saw it with the World Cup of hockey. Got those big pre-tournament games to look forward to. They're going to be dynamite.
Starting point is 01:53:51 Yeah. loves Calgary. Can't wait for Kazakhstan and Belarus. No kidding. Man. Sign me on. Are you to get media passes for that? I'd start queuing up right now.
Starting point is 01:54:04 Yep. I would too. 555 saddled on way rise place. I would too. Well, folks, have a fantastic. Oh, got another one. Look at that. Oilers suck.
Starting point is 01:54:13 There he is. 699. 699. Right on the wire. Right on the wire. I guess that's it, Is there anything else? No, I think it's tight.
Starting point is 01:54:24 The championship starts next week. Yep. Flames cruising through the homestand. Hopefully, uh, some sobriety and good health. Yeah, one of the two. Fines its way to the show. And, uh, I'm going to do everything I can, Dean. Thanks, buddy.
Starting point is 01:54:41 Get well. We miss you. Sunshine State, boys. Florida, Tampa. Enjoy the weekend. There you go. All right. How was the show today, Jack?
Starting point is 01:54:50 Hmm. Don't give me. that. It was excellent. I'm with Jack. I'm with Jack. See you, buddies.
