Let's go buddies.
Welcome to Barnburner here on a Tuesday.
The 21st of November.
It is Boomer and Pinder and Rhett Warner.
Rhett at the satellite office, the satellite studio at the hockey rink.
So is it just a rink or is it like an academy where kids go to school?
Oh, I just smashed my back.
No, it's just the rink.
It's the...
It's attached.
to the where the sabers play.
Practice facility.
It's the practice facility, but it's on the sixth floor of the parking garage.
And above that is a hotel where all the teams stay.
Is that what is it called?
The HSBC arena?
Key Bank, I think is the key bank.
Yeah, but this is called the Lecom Harbor Center.
And when the Sabres can't practice at the main rink,
they put on those fancy doodads, the,
the
the
protectors
with the rollerblade
protectors
right
escape protectors
get dressed
and they rollerblade over
gotcha
so it's all
them arena
is that what the
uh
you're one of
the fucking names
a lot of banks down here
there's a lot of banks
a lot of banks
no money
hmm
no
some of them had money
as the owners
that didn't have money
the banks were fine
yeah
owner's fine now
well
So here's the thing.
I'm really excited about one thing,
but we should probably talk about the other thing first.
Well, and we also have huge news affecting one of our staff members today.
What?
Well, we have, is it, well, let's hit the breaking news splitter.
Let's hit the splitter, please, Jack.
Here, I've got some slitters.
He's looking at the desk.
What is that?
Let's see who's there.
We've got a special guest.
I like that one.
That's kind of a spooky space.
Let's take a look here.
Who do we got there?
Oh, my goodness.
Matt Canada?
We've got the Jack Cam.
Look at this, boys.
We've got the Jack Cam.
He's got the Poncho.
Does that happen, man?
They fired Matt Canada.
Is this the first visual that people are getting of Jack?
Is it the first ever Jack Cam actually?
What a viewing.
It's awesome.
Yeah.
You got to tilt down.
a little we have too much head space there i do like that the hat's just going to get a little lower for the
coach cushions at all the hat looks brutal that's like what a grandpa wears a hat you're like do you
know how those things work can you fit that on your head are we having beers is that a guineas are we
having beers what he's celebrating he's celebrating wow all right so those that are just listening
and are and are not watching on the youtube we got our boy jack he's got his steelers hat
poncho on and and crushing beers i don't know if it's beer we are running a little light
unclean cupware it could be coffee it could be an energy with it ryan fuck it could be a brown
does origin have a brown he's celebrating i was trying to think of with a beer well they got the
ark we'll we'll talk about origin they got it's the old dog the brown ale uh anyway uh what are we
celebrating jack what's going on matt canada has been fire
Fire!
Relieved.
Relieved.
You know, he's really relieved is the fucking Steelers fans.
This guy is doing backflips today.
His hand springs into the office.
They don't care who's replacing him.
No, God, no.
He is gone.
He is gone.
Apparently two people are replacing him, actually.
Even better.
Well,
hiring someone to be the O coordinator,
and then the other guy is going to call the plays.
Now, you handed it in your keys yesterday.
You walked into the office and said,
Kenny Pickett, fuck this.
Yeah. Are you Canada, Mars missions?
Are you going to take,
take Kenny back into the fold and give him a shot now?
I am back on Kenny.
Oh, there is.
I do love it.
Yeah, a true fan.
I love it.
And you know what?
Like, we're all dads and we've been through the rigmarole
of cheering for teams for so long,
and you just sort of become numb to it.
All this visceral emotion for him.
Like, we're really living this with Jack and the Steelers.
I'm quite impressed with how in and out he is.
and how quickly the moods change.
You've seen him live, Pinder.
Yeah, that's true.
The viewing from yesterday to today,
like he looks spry today to me.
Look at it.
There's a color in his face.
Was it the same yesterday?
Was it different?
Like, what do we?
You know what?
He was working hard yesterday.
He's down on his Steelers.
He was launching everyone into the sun.
And despite being up probably till two-ish,
because we went late on Afterburner last night.
He's got some pep in his step today.
I have never felt better right
there it is
look at that
he's going to drink
till the Steelers play again
how many have got in that
cooler behind you pender
you're going to run out
we got the front row left
the back's been hollowed out nicely
I was actually
which
yeah see we'll get to it
but the guys at origin
origin brewing
they were uh
Mark and Sterling were asking
how how's the fridge doing
How's the stock at the office, at the studio?
I said, well, I know I took, I claimed a flat.
And I think Jack has taken some here and there.
And I know Pinder has taken and consumed while at work.
But you've done a good job there.
If you're masking up, they're masking the fact that there's very little in the fridge.
Yeah, it looks good.
You got to try this pea flour sour.
Pfe flour plums are right now
I actually you know what I saw on their social media
I saw somebody had it and it is it's purple
it's like a purple it does it looks like
and I don't like grape Kool-Aid necessarily
but I do want to drink it
yeah and do if we know any Ravens fans
this has got to be your game day beer like that would be
or the Vikings sure
yeah Vikings for sure of course
other than I think of that
let's get to it flames last night
go into Seattle
and
Yeah, they do love it there.
6 and 0 now after last night.
They score first.
They give away the lead.
They score again.
They give away the lead.
They then go down by a score of 3 to 2,
but then come roaring back.
407 left.
And Ramon Jepani.
Big goal.
Ties it up and they get to overtime.
And Rasmus Anderson gets the overtime winner.
Ready, taking notes?
I don't imagine you were up for this.
Are you writing the stuff down?
When did you fade?
I was thinking first intermission is probably about where we'd set the line.
Is it over or under?
There was no first intermission.
The under pays.
Retro had a terrible night's sleep the night before,
and I was out by the time the puck dropped.
So how much of the game did we take in this morning?
Highlights?
All the highlights.
I watched some of the first.
I didn't get through all of it, but.
Yeah.
Well, you missed the second.
I was going to say, please do.
Yeah.
just flames were uh were no good in the second maybe one of the worst periods um i'm not saying
something that first yeah maybe that's a little harsh just say one of their worst they weren't very
good anyway seattle turned it up they didn't match and 17 to six and just weren't good yeah not
good and then in the third some uh line line stuff well shuffle you you you you sit over here
and you go here and you you you're not going to play at all actually you know you can sit right down
So we had old AJ Greer, Greerzy, Rosie up to the top line, if you want to call it that, up to the Lindholm line.
On the left side with Lindholm and Madjapani.
And then Zari, Higon, Dubay with Cadry and Pospasal.
So Pospasal stays with Cadry.
Zari gets the heave-ho and the backline stayed together.
And they were actually, again, quite good last night.
We've talked a lot about the Cadry line being good.
Hubert O
on that line with Backland
And Bowman
He fits there
What are you telling me?
Was this your brilliance that you put to you?
What are you telling me?
It's not my brilliance.
No one's brilliance.
We were kind of thinking,
geez, he's your best offensive player.
You're going to put him on a checking line.
How's this going to work?
But then we also talked about, well, you know,
it can be a stable place for players to play.
We've seen guys do well on the flanks of Backland's lines
for like a decade now.
But really what it is, I think, right,
is that we had gotten to the point
where I think everyone had almost given up
that this could be a helpful player,
never mind a $10.5 million dollar player,
like someone that could contribute to wins.
And suddenly it's five points in three games,
and he's shooting it a little more.
And that goal that seemed to have the weight lifted
where everyone embraced him.
I mean, you start to look like a different cat here,
which is good because I think we hit rock bottom last week.
Yeah, probably two weeks.
sure yeah the benching most of the season it hasn't been a lot of positives the benching for sure right the
benching the third period benching that's the low and it's the public of like that that clip going
viral and us talking about it right like that that has to be rock bottom yeah so it was us then
the getting benched is one thing us really crushing him on social media on on on the internet
oh hell hath no fury oh you're welcome flames they're
or squirrel.
But we talked a bit about it last night on the show.
Is there anything to it that?
Because over time,
and we kind of listed some of the names,
you've got Lance Boma over the years,
guys that have gone and played with Macklin.
There's something to it.
Does it allow you to just,
well, I know those guys are going to play,
they're going to be back.
They're going to play defense.
They're positionally sound.
They 200 game, foot game, that whole thing.
It allows you to just play and not think.
because, look, we're not getting carried away,
but five points in three games,
and you've noticed him in a positive way
multiple times during hockey games.
This is the first time in a year and change
that this has happened.
So, again, is how much credit goes to Backland
and Coleman, obviously,
but certainly Backland for just being a steadying force
for him on that line.
A lot? I mean, I don't know percentage.
wise, but yeah, he's done it for everyone.
Backl was on the best line in the NHL for,
or a top five line in the NHL for a while.
I really love when they have Manjipani Coleman and him.
The two iterations of the 3M line when it was Kachuk and FroLeak
and then Kachuk and Manjapani that played with him.
Before that, we talked about like the David Jones,
Lance Balma's like career type offensive outputs,
like not great players skill-wise,
but it just seems to be a spot where things are simple
and you end up at the right end of the rink.
for a defenseman it's like finding a defenseman that you don't have to think about what he's going to do
like tanna when he's healthy right like you play with guys where you just kind of know and i feel like
backland's that where yes it might not be johnny goddro dipsy and dancy and all that but you know
exactly how he's going to play you know where he's he's always in the right position he plays the
right way and does the right thing and is always there in support easy game yeah and manjipani can
play whatever you want just because he's with backland you say well maybe he's manchpani's a hell of
player yeah and look if you need to if huberto's playing well with someone else you leave matchpenny
there for sure but man japaning to your point can work on a lot of different lines they've been
hunting for a place for huberto to look good for 90 plus games here and this might be it and have they
tried, have we seen this?
He was on Backland's line a bit last year.
I think it was who was on the other
side. I don't think it was Coleman. I don't know.
I really don't. I was thinking about it after
we, of course, after we finished the show last
night, of all the
combos and tinkering and tweaks that we saw,
I don't really recall him being with
Backland for any amount of time. Yeah, he
finished the year there, but everything was ugly there.
Yeah. You also spent a lot of time on Cadre's line,
and that was no good at all.
No. He and Lindholm
haven't worked. Pretty much anybody.
options, right? Pretty much anybody else. It hasn't, it hasn't worked. And, you know,
like I say, he's noticeable. He was a noticeable for checker last night, turning
pucks over. He laid out Brandon Tanna for it's just little things. If it's any other fan,
be like, what are we talking about here? I mean, what? I get it. But if you're a Flames fan,
and you've watched Flames hockey the last year and a bit, this is a noticeable step forward for him.
And again, I'm happy for the player because he has to, he'll be feeling it.
It's like, okay, this is, I don't know what's been going on, but it's starting to feel like it's coming back.
You're happy for all involved down at Saddle Dome Way or whatever the hell they call it.
Because for the team, you don't need just a dead space on the roster making 10 and a half.
You can't have that on, you can't have that on your bingo card.
whether you're trying to make the playoffs or sell guys regardless,
you can't have that on the bingo card.
Well, the other thing that I think was telling,
when he scored against Vancouver,
it was like the way his teammates celebrated.
That told me that they want this guy to succeed.
It's not like he's lost the room where like this guy is such a,
ugh, I'm just done with it.
It's not that at all.
It was like, yes, yes, here we go.
And that was, I think, a little bit of a look.
You always say watch the guys celebrate when they score.
And you've talked about Codry.
And I think Zeri's really brought him back to life.
But similarly, the way that that bench reacted to that Hubert O' goal, I thought, told you,
they want this to work.
They've not quit on this guy.
They don't think that he's a detriment.
They really want him to get going.
And here he is.
By the way, Pikes in the comments and was talking about some of the combos last year.
Okay.
Because, and again, it sounds like a little thing.
And I'm just going to, just two things here that I, because Franks Sarvelli was talking about
it yesterday.
And I'll take his word on it.
When Trey Turner goes to the Philadelphia Phillies and, of course, Frank's a Philly guy.
And Trey Turner is an all.
star. But when he gets there, things aren't going well. And the Philly fans can be rough. But when he
starts to play better, gets a bit, hits a home run, this sort of thing, the crowd was really into
him. He, you could feel that the crowd really wanted him to succeed. And then his play started to
take off from there. And if you're kind of, again, thumb on your nose at it and saying, well,
of course, teammates are going to be excited for you. But imagine though, if you're Jonathan
Huberdow and you're struggling and I'm guessing he carries this thing like a backpack full of rocks,
everywhere he goes.
You score that goal.
What if your teammates just kind of come over and say,
out of boy, yeah, that sort of thing.
You can imagine how that would feel as opposed to everybody jumping on him in the
corner like fucking rights, man.
Let's do this.
Yes, let's go.
That would have to feel so good on a personal mental level for him.
The crowd roars louder than an ordinary goal for him.
how it like what 90% metal 80% mental I just he just you can tell he is smiling and feeling it right now.
Yep.
And on that side, like I say, I'm happy for him because I think it has to have been a rough ride on the mental side for the last year.
Yeah.
And I think it got to the point where we kind of just given up and say, look, it's not going to work here that this ain't it.
It's, you know, you just got to live with this.
So it also feels like found money in a way.
It's a 20 bucks in the ski jacket.
Like,
Oh,
I didn't see this.
Yeah.
It's been almost 100 games of him being ineffective.
So it feels great.
And you're right about the fans.
They're smart enough to know if this guy can operate like a five to eight million dollar winger.
That is a huge ad because he's been looking like a replacement level of winger up until the last little bit here.
They were going to help it.
They were going to Patrick Linae him at one.
Yeah.
And nobody cared.
I was like, go ahead.
Good.
But, yeah.
So I'm just thinking he had three hits early in the second period last night.
I don't know that I can recall three hits in his career.
I think that just means he's back feeling like he's part of it.
Just feeling it.
Right?
Like you're involved in.
Yeah.
And that's, it's, it's goofy, the old confidence thing, but it can take you a long way.
It's a hot air balloon, Dean.
No.
You're a bucket tipper?
You got to, you got to fill that balloon, get that thing floating.
Now, the other part, let me ask you, is this.
Last year, Daryl Sutter, the mood is what it is.
This year you come in, six game losing skid.
Right now they're on a five, one and two run.
This is kind of the first time all year that they're allowed to feel good.
Hey, this is, this is fun.
Hey, out of boy, big goal.
Yay!
I'm feeling better.
If they were one, five, and two.
Is this happening?
Well, and I was going to ask you guys,
because you paid full attention to the game,
if they lose that game,
is it still the same attitude?
Like, are we having this car?
You know what I mean?
There's always those,
because you guys are like,
they didn't play that well,
but damn,
Hubert O's good and we won again.
They were up one,
nothing, and two one.
So I would have thought that one stings
with that second period,
giving it back.
But the other thing compared to last year,
like last year,
if they were down in the third,
they was dead.
They've already had a bunch of game-tying third-period goals.
That was another third-period comeback victory.
I think they only had two last year.
It was like last in the league or a horrible number of late comebacks.
This team is showing more belief and more buy-in, and they haven't quit.
And you don't think they should quit a month into a new coach.
But it's a very different vibe than the way they were playing down the stretch last year.
We'll see what it means when they have this stretch of good teams.
They've got a month of really good teams.
We'll see.
Don't undersell what happened at the start of the year either, right?
Like you're saying, they got through it?
The vibes last year were no good.
They were no good this year.
No, they were no good.
Oh, I know, yeah.
They were terrible, uninspiring, awful to watch hockey.
And that's why it's even more impressive they got through it, right?
Well, it's still surprising to me.
It's like, okay, good.
What happened?
Yeah.
And I think you make a good point, Dean, is that if Darrell was still here, is it the same?
Like, I don't know.
The fact that Huska, clearly Huska and Conroy have done everything different, bringing in any kids, probably having a different attitude, right?
Like trying different stuff.
So it's, it, at the start, it looked awful.
Looked absolutely awful.
And it looked like those guys.
It looked worse.
was a bunch of hockey players that shouldn't be together in a room.
They didn't care about each other, didn't want to play.
And now you're like, maybe we're all right.
Maybe we're all right.
Yeah.
Scoring goals in winning in games that you win as opposed to lose it.
Because you know what it's like.
Hey, you're finally scoring.
Yeah, but we didn't win the game.
You're not allowed to enjoy them.
Yeah.
And this is a guy that right now is definitely feeling it.
Cadry gets another point.
He's got, what, 11 points in his last 10 games.
Pospisal in it again.
I thought, I'd set it on after Burn a Retro, I thought of you.
Whenever a team needs a spark or whatever, you're always like, run the goalie, run the goalie.
No one runs the goalie anymore.
We haven't seen people run the goalies since the 80s, but except last night when Martin Pospasal runs the goalie.
I fucking love this kid.
I love him.
Just listen to the, it's easy.
Yeah.
do what you're told.
It does take a special type of player.
I know what you're saying, Rhett.
There's only a certain number of guys that have the intestinal fortitude,
the balls and the like, yep, fuck it, I'll do it.
And it's a few different boxes, right?
Because you need to be kind of, you need to be fearless.
Yeah.
But there needs to be a, oh, fuck it kind of part of it.
Because you can be furious.
I'm not running the goalie.
And he, I mean, he did.
Maybe did it get pushed?
Not really.
Hold it a bit, but no.
and scored the goal and then it gets wiped off.
And I was kind of surprised that no one really went after him.
Because he he barreled into, that was Gruber at the time.
They might have wanted Grubar out.
Yeah.
He's gone for two and a half.
Because he plowed him and then got up into Ryan's point from last night.
So you score a goal, but you've run into the goalie.
Goal is disallowed.
Okay.
So that would be goal goalie interference then.
Is it not a.
penalty then. So we're just going to wipe the goal off. So is it Evie Stevie? Is that how that works?
Is that how the so it's not a penalty?
Handbook is. Well, then why isn't it a goal? Yeah. Anyway, just another thing from last night that
that kind of caught my eye. I like this guy. And in the third period, I said it earlier,
I was kind of, it was found a kind of interesting that when they were looking to shake things up,
they'd lost the lead. They're now down by a goal, go to the third. They move some players around
and switch the lines. And Pospisal stays with Codry, not Zerry.
which would have, I would have guessed that would be the way it goes.
So I don't know.
The coach is liking, what do you see?
And again, second game in a row, a lot of possible in overtime.
Like, the coach is not afraid of playing this kid.
Like in overtime, a rookie.
No, for him's more than points.
Like, it's, they love this kid.
And we said it last night, we all knew that there was some edge there.
I didn't know there's this much speed skill in size.
I was going to say, now, is there speed?
because he seems to get open, right?
But he doesn't look like a,
he doesn't look like a good skater.
There's not a lot of style points there.
I just watched him arriving and chasing down loose pucks.
I think it might have been in the second period last night.
Like, Red, if you're going to finish watching that game,
there's a couple times you're like,
Jesus, Pospicill's coming in quick.
Like, it's a freight train catching this guy,
or he's beating someone in a foot race.
It's like, and you talk about this all the time.
All these kids can skate.
Like, it isn't that he's a special skater.
It's just that he's 20.
Well, he's committed to doing it.
He knows he's like,
I'm going to skate as fast as I can, and I don't know if he's McDavid fast or just fast or average fast.
But whatever it is, he's going.
There's not a hesitation.
It's not a, I wonder if I should go hit that guy.
You don't get that hesitant.
I'm going and I'm going to finish the check.
This is what I'm supposed to do.
And you talk about it a lot.
Usually we talk about it at training camp.
You respect and you love the player that recognizes the role and is,
Okay, so that's what I need to be done.
I'm guessing that Ryan Huska or the coaches, they don't have to.
Okay, Marty, Marty, here's, so remember, here's the, here's what we need out of you.
This is what you just go out and play your game.
Your game is this.
I bet you they don't have to talk to that kid at all.
He's got it.
Check, I can be that guy, done.
Then you start to take, you take honor and you take pleasure in being able to fill that role.
Who did we have last year that we were screaming?
Walker Dure for a month
Walker Dure for a bit
But it wasn't as pesty
It was more just that piston up and down the way
My point is just more
He played straight lines
You knew what you were getting
There was nothing unique and special about it
I'm just I'll do the box
That's the one I'm going to check
And I'm going to go do
Yeah and to be fair
Like I think Pospicoles
Emergence has put Walker Dura
In the press box for what
I think the upside for Pospasol is probably a lot higher
Quite a bit younger too
If I'm correct
because Duer was a four-year college guy
and then the American League.
I just, I can't stop thinking about
if we have, if we have to put a pin on the turning point
of this season, fellas, like, and who knows?
They've got 13 games against really good teams in a row here.
They might be right back to whether they're going to
whether they make the playoffs or not.
There's been a very clear turning point.
But there's a distinct difference between the first and let's call it
in the last 10 that we've seen or it's nine and nine,
whatever it is.
You do the math.
I can't help but think when,
Honor's area arrives and pospical soon after, and the young guys coming up from the American League,
which is what fans and management has been screaming about for a while, but all these kids get them up.
We got lots of kids.
How do we not view that as one of the significant pivots of the season?
It's the biggest thing franchise-wise that's happened since last.
It has to be.
Goodroll leaving, but I mean, even before that, they weren't using.
Yeah, sorry, Rhett.
You look at the schedule.
The last game of October was on the 29th.
That's the outdoor game.
That was game six, what game five, story, one, two, three,
game five of the six game skid.
Remember doing that show during and after the outdoor game.
Oh, it was miserable.
You flipped to November and the first game was the four three loss to Dallas.
And that was the first game where we said, okay, it's a loss,
but you like the way they played.
Dallas is a very good team.
They were in it.
It was a one goal game.
Jerry,
Remember that?
And that was, yeah, that was D.
That was D.
Then the next game is the 6-3 win over Seattle,
which was Pospicil's first game.
And then he,
and he scores.
So yeah,
it's been a 5-1-2 and 2 that you can go 5-2 and 2
since Zari showed up,
5-1 and 2 since Pospicil,
and since then they've looked like a completely different team.
Cadreys come back to life.
We're starting to see Huberto now.
They've found stability in their lines.
I thought that was key.
Once Zeri got there, you're like, okay,
I think we got some lines here.
Remember, we said it on the show.
And then I think quietly, you've had really strong seasons from Anderson, Weger, and
Hanofin thus far.
And, uh, you, well, there's this, there's this unique blood transfusion thing that's
going on in the health and fitness world where you take blood from young people and then
inject it in yourself.
It's really, this is what the flames have done.
Nas doing it.
ejected the youth.
They've brought the young blood.
Is that dope?
Right into the.
This feels like a movie.
was doing this shit. Isn't that saw
movie or something? That sounds a little
It's true. Didn't you see that rich
guy that was spending like a million dollars a year
to stay young and he was getting his kids?
They pulled the,
anyway, we don't know. No, Red, I've not heard about this.
I don't know that. I like how he's going to throw this into health and science.
Oh, come on. You guys saw this. Right. The guy, you know, that guy's got a
Jack, Jack attack knows what I'm talking about. He's got a shed full of kids
in his backyard and he just brings them in and they transfer. Yeah,
unless it's happening.
into Kenny Pickett. Jack doesn't have it. Anyway, the youth has served us well. And I, you know,
Dewer's not playing. I'm like, put doer, Pospisal on a line together and have get another guy up
the middle. Let's let him play together because I'd love to see that too. Well, guys,
Peltier. They should have a freaking competition. Who can dump it the best to set up the other guy for a
train wreck? It's like, it's like an alley you. Yeah. I'll put it over there. You just know you got to go.
and finish.
And if you miss them,
you owe me a beer after,
you bastard.
Yeah,
you floated into the corner.
I'll go.
I thought you were going to go get them out.
Yeah, yeah,
I'm sorry.
Next time.
All right.
Beer's are on me after the game.
So while they're playing pretty well
against the soft part of the schedule,
they catch Vancouver on the second half of the back to back.
A lot of teams I'd put in the same box as the flames they've played,
Montreal,
Seattle,
Islanders,
Nashville tomorrow.
Hartford for sure.
But I just mean those teams that you're like,
okay,
everything's going to have to go really well for you to get in.
That's sort of the group
I put them in right now.
And those are the teams.
They've done well with them.
And they're about to get into the tough stuff.
But let's remember there will be a Coronado return.
There will be a Pellche return.
Sharon Golbich is playing much better, I think, in the last two weeks,
albeit maybe a late demotion in the third last night.
Like this is a group feeling very good right now.
And I don't know who isn't playing some of their best hockey right now.
It might be the guy that asked out two weekends ago.
He took two minors in the second rat.
He jumped the gun on asking out.
Way to go, Zad.
Or maybe he's made in the ass
Where everyone's like, finally
This fuck is gonna be gone, what?
Connie
I keep getting more of that vibe
I love all the tools
But the more I keep watching
The actions and the words,
I'm like, this guy's a bit of fraud or what?
Like the tools have always been there.
Don't worry.
Listen, you don't trust your instincts.
They're horseshit.
I'm asking the question.
I'm not saying he is.
No, you're, I mean, we are very clear on where you are on Z.
I love the tools.
I think he's a valuable idea.
We know where you are on Z.
I said last night now
because he of course is their best
defenseman well their best defenseman was back down
to just over 15 minutes last night
so I'm guessing that Dan Milstein will be all fucking
hot and bothered and sending tweets out soon
well that's not helping his stock
yes the first tweet hasn't really
been a pivot point for Zaddy's
season
can we have the standing somewhere
or was that coming up in the Pinda report yeah what do you want to know
well I'm just it's getting interesting
there is a there is a
a general consensus that here in the next 10 days,
if you aren't in by then, it's more way, it's very difficult.
10 days, try two.
Like it's the Merry of Thanksgiving, right?
Right.
I mean, I'm not, again, nothing's impossible, but.
Pospicile.
I know you did, yeah.
So there's the division.
So you can see all of a sudden, like three teams have ran away off the gate,
out of the gates.
That's Vegas, Vancouver, and L.A.
They all will have playoff spots if they play anything
like shown through the first fifth of the season.
Seattle's played two more games.
That's a bit of a mirage there.
Anaheim hot start.
I don't know that they've got the depth to do it.
Four teams out of the Pacific isn't crazy.
It's the rearview mirror that I'm curious about more than anything.
Can Edmonton get their shit together?
Not yet.
And there's the wild card right there.
So you are currently two back with two games in hand.
Oh, God, they've played 18 games.
They're...
Yeah, and again, the schedule gets tough.
They're closer to the wild card than the basement.
Are they not now?
Oh, yeah.
San Jose is fucking awful.
That's been the first time since basically opening night.
It's the basement.
San Jose is historically bad here.
So are you done flipping them upside down for the time being?
Yeah.
And that's how we're going to see them now?
Well, and again, we'll know by Christmas, the next 13 games,
but it keeps saying it broke a record.
But this is where we learn what they are.
You can look great and work hard and make mistakes
and still win against the Islanders
and against a tired Canucks team
that got it at 3 a.m.
and against a Nashville
and against, you know,
Montreal and Seattle.
You're not going to be able to play
like they played and get points
consistently against the Dallas,
Colorado, Vegas of the world,
Carolina, Jersey, Florida, Tampa.
Like all those teams are coming up.
They get two of a bunch of those teams I mentioned
and a healthy, rested Vancouver team,
rested, I should say,
on a Saturday night.
If they go 500 against this 13 games,
stretch, I'm in.
Clip it.
Clip it.
Did you just?
I don't, I think it's.
You're worst of freaking jack, you flip flopper.
And here's the thing.
I don't expect them to go 500 is more my point.
I'm not saying that they're a playoff team.
I'm saying they're going to have to prove it in this 13 game stretch.
And if they can do it here.
500, you said.
If they get 13 points of 13 games, I think this is a team that can make the playoffs.
But I don't, I think that's going to be really tough.
That's not.
being in. You said you're in. You said if they go 500, yeah, you're in. If they go 500,
I'm in on this group. But you just said if they go 500, I think they might have a chance at making
the playoffs. Yeah, I'm in to say like, yeah, you're, you're, you're one of those teams.
This is the worst in ever. At least Jack is in. Now the Canada's in. Yeah. Come on. Pinder.
Yeah. It's just the toughest stretch they might have all year. So if you play 500 there, that tells me
We're allowing you that.
We're allowing you the tough stretch and going to give you the 500.
We're just saying after that, commit.
Yeah, okay.
So if 13 points or more, he's going to get a tat too.
You got to the inflection goes.
That's you're asking, but I'm answering.
You're going, uh, and I'm like, I feel like you're worried that we're going to like,
if they don't or if they, if they do go 500 or better and then you're in and then they miss that
we're going to hang you up on a flag.
no, no, no, something and beat you with sticks.
Like, I know you hate being wrong.
Everyone hates me wrong.
They're going to be in a shootout with sitting on 12 points and not win it.
And I'll be like, oh, God, thank you.
But no, this is it.
We're going to learn a lot is all I'm saying.
I can say, I'll say this.
Because this is my end.
They got to keep it going.
Oh, that's good.
Yeah.
Such good analysis.
Where does he come up with these gems?
Yeah.
Who's he calling in the line?
You've got to keep it going.
And you know, the only way they can keep it going is if they bring their A game.
Oh, fuck.
Hang on.
One guys, 60 minutes.
And one game at a time.
One shift at a time.
You're going to use everyone.
You've got to play as a team.
All right.
Can you come talk to my U-9 team?
We could use this kind of uplifting shit.
You don't want me.
I'm apparently, no, I'm too hard on people.
My demands are, but I'm more of the Daryl's subtle stuff.
Yeah.
Okay, listen.
I put this on long enough.
I'm here.
I was out yesterday.
I was out in a boat.
I was out in a boat.
Left this house,
Brett.
And he bitched about it.
Just the people know.
Oh, yeah.
When did I bitch?
I didn't bitch.
Yeah, he said,
uh, all of us.
Your observations could be seen as complaints.
Yep.
I was out yesterday.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
Because it was, uh, no, I was out.
Uh, just happened to be, uh, out by Strathmore.
my daughter ends up
she plays a lot of ringette out there
the ringette community is a weird one
how's the barn out there great
yeah it's a it's a double one
and they got a food and
food bar beverage uh thing up top there you bet
it should be illegal to build drinks without one of those
you're right Ryan I think it's the fucking atrocity
when there's new rinks and there's no I'm like what are we doing here
yeah that 30 some million they spent on
great plains arena and there's not a pub to be found
No.
Yeah, what are we doing here?
And while you're at the hoop-de-do arena there in Strathmore, whatever it's called,
go up to the lounge and McGillicuddy.
The Howdy-Duty.
The Don McGillacutty Memorial Arena.
You can have some origin.
Peace, Don.
Yeah.
Rest in peace.
No, so I swung by, because of course, origin, molting and brewing, the Hilton family,
partners of us here on Barnburner and Flames Nation.
May as well slide by.
and see what's going on.
So I did.
It was quiet.
There was nothing going on.
But there's something going on.
Boys, take a look.
Quiet.
What?
I'm talking about.
Oh.
What?
Look at this.
Jack.
What?
Jack!
Oh, my God.
There's lots of it.
There's a bunch.
This is a roller coaster right there.
Look at this machine, hey?
Put that right near a yapper.
Put in my garage.
Chuddy, too.
Oh, hey now.
There it is, ladies and gentlemen,
origin, malting, and brewing.
I'm welling up here.
This is a proud moment.
There it is.
These are collectors' items.
The first ones off the line
from Origin Brewing and Strathmore,
the official beer of Barnburner,
the Barnburner blonde.
Look at that, boys.
Press that can around for us, Dino.
Because it's, our logo you notice at the front.
We've got the,
Friesian fist there.
Yeah.
So there's the,
there's the blonde,
the logo,
our logo there.
And then this,
look at the barns.
The barn's on fire.
She's burning boys.
Ooh.
Come on.
Gorgeous.
These cans are awesome.
And we had our first taste yesterday.
It's a light beer.
What can I tell you about it?
Light beer.
It's a board,
baby.
4.2%.
That's drankable.
She's,
uh,
she's a crusher.
You can have more than one of these bad boys.
I'll tell you right now.
So there it is.
Look at that.
Retro.
Not bad, eh?
Get your ass back to the town.
Get your ass back here.
Oh my God.
Pretty excited, boys.
Pretty excited.
Tell me,
you know what?
I can see why you left the house.
I know.
So there you had.
Kyle was in the,
uh,
in the orange hoodie there.
He was kind of working the line.
Kim was stacking them up there at the back.
Sawyer was feeding the can.
hands in on the top. And Justin, he's got one of these, these going. Oh, the big, big, big,
duster. He is kind of the, he's one of the brewmasters. And they, because we sat down, it's like,
we want to, so we're going to, you know, you got, because you got the homegrown logger and you got
the Rockieford Red, you've got it. All very, all great, all great. And you can try them all at the tap
room in Strathmore. But they wanted, we want to do something different. So let's go. Let's kind of get into it.
So I, they, they talked about doing, let's, let's do it a beer that, you know, not a dark IPA or something different.
There's not wrong with that, but it's just, you know, it's maybe an acquired taste.
Not everybody loves those.
Something approachable, right?
Let's just do something that everybody can kind of get into and enjoy.
Yeah.
So they came up with this one.
I think there was only one because they put, they had kind of a recipe.
They wanted to do the blonde.
They pumped one through.
And they were like, oh, not sure.
That's not really quite it.
You can taste that right now at the tap room.
It's on one of the taps.
It's called whoopsie.
Are you serious?
Yeah, it's called whoopsie.
So if you go buy the tap room, I mean, it's very drinkable.
It is beer, but it wasn't really what they were looking for the barn burner blonde.
So you can go and have some take one whoopsie at the tap room while.
I would have the taste test.
I know.
And the blonde side by side.
While supplies last, while supplies last.
What if I get arguing with the brewmaster there and see?
totally out to lunch.
I like,
we need the whoopsy.
Warner's whoopsy.
I can see it right now.
Flying off the shells.
But,
and then,
yeah,
so then they got to right
where they wanted.
They had an idea
already coming in
that this was probably a beer
they were maybe going to do
or tweak it,
but once our partnership got started,
so they are pumped
and we are pumped.
Oh, man.
And because they do it all there.
So for those that don't know
what the story is,
origin brewing and Strathmore,
they've been doing this for a number of years,
but it's really coming on.
They,
they're farmers,
the Hilton family,
they've been doing it for what? Generations out there. Five. Fifth generation farmers.
And it's 17,000 acres. There's Chris, I love this partnership with origin, great family business,
ton of history in Alberta. Thanks for supporting farm to beer can, because that's what it is.
And they're big on sustainability and keeping the soil and the land productive. So they grow it.
They grow the barley. They bring it in. They also have a malting facility.
Malt the barley.
So they malt the barley and then it goes to the brewery.
And their malt is, there's breweries in California,
they're across North America that buy their malt because it is,
it's the elite malt for, I guess people that are in this business,
something about that area in Alberta produces some of the best barley that you can grow.
Well, these guys in origin, they keep the best of the best for themselves
and they truck it into Strathmore and put it into their own beer.
So it is truly farmed to glass
And we're pumped about it
So are you ready for the next piece of news?
Tell me you tasted at first.
I can't go any further without you telling me
How good this is or what your reaction was
Or what you're expecting.
I wasn't, I was kind of because it was coming off the line
And they're canning them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And it was kind of neat, right?
All right, are we ready to go?
Here we go.
It was like having a baby.
Here we go.
Come on now.
Push, push.
It was kind of one of those moments.
It's just stable above the equator.
Yeah, I cut the, I cut the cord.
Yeah.
I cut one of, uh, one of Justin's, uh, Fu Manchu things off.
Yeah, yeah, it was emotional.
Yeah, it was emotional.
But when it comes off of the line and they're canning it there, it's all, it's, it's, I, it's ice cold coming out of the, uh, I just thought, is it warm or what is it?
But it was cold.
We, we grabbed cans right off of the line and had a nice little cheers there.
Pretty, pretty happy.
And you know what?
I drink beer.
I'm a beer guy, whatever, but I'm, I should say, I'm not really a beer guy.
Pinder, you're the beer guy.
Whenever we go somewhere with Pinder and say, well, what's on top?
What's in season?
What's local?
That's kind of, and there are a lot of people like that.
I am very excited for people to try this, this beer.
It's, because you can see up top there, that's kind of their staple, the homegrown
logger.
Now, this is an ale, I was told.
The blonde is an ale.
They bought the, the Mexican lager and the,
the homegrown logger, that's got a bit of shoulders to it.
You know, we're having a beer with the homegrown logger.
That's damn right.
A little under that, you've got the Mexican logger.
And then this because it's a, yeah, and then this guy is right underneath it.
You've still got that taste.
It's the origin thing.
And you can still taste the origin.
What you're tasting in the homegrown.
There's still a piece of that.
But this guy, uh, ooh, mama.
Yeah.
I was, I was super excited.
that we were doing a blonde because I think the craft space can be intimidating for people that have just gone and bought the massive beers that their dads used to drink since 1950.
But a blonde is a really nice entry point because it's not going to be super scary.
I could plunk one in front of my brother or dad and they'll be like, yep, I'm in.
Whereas if you start someone with, say, the pioneer or the hazy IPA, which they have, that's a big change of pace for what most people sit down with.
And they're great beers, but the required tastes to your point, Dino.
And Sterling says that all of the time, too.
His first time he had a big IPA is like, whoa, wow, my barley did that.
And those are great.
But I love that almost everyone will enjoy a beer.
Oh, everyone's going to be very, very Main Street approachable beer.
Yeah.
And the thing with origin, it's still, it's a big operation.
But in terms of, you know, they're still growing.
They're getting bigger.
So you're going to be able to get this.
And of course, they have all their beers in keg for, so if you got a restaurant,
if you got a place and you want to get it.
We mentioned last week, National on 17th and National in West Hills,
merchants there in Mardalupe, and I don't want to leave anybody out,
but there's a number of restaurants and nice places that are getting it on tap.
Like the Nash and Englewood's got it.
Our buddy man deep.
Our home rink. Oh, baby.
Our buddy man deep at BK Beaufort Liquor.
He got in a whole raft of the cans.
So you can go there.
This is, we're going to start to beat the drum for origin because this is what it's all about.
And what I love is it's, uh, they're farmers, eh?
Yeah, yeah.
They're farmers.
There's no, there's no whoopty do here.
So we just, we're just trying to do our best, you know, do you guys like the beer?
You like it?
It's good.
Yeah.
No, it's, it's really good.
Yeah.
We're just, we're just honest people.
We're doing things right out here in Strathmore.
And I would love to see this take off because it should be.
There are one of, I think there's two, and I've said this before.
I think there's two like this in, in, in.
Canada where they go, we are, we're planting it, we're harvesting it, we're producing it,
and then doing the malting ourselves and then doing the brewing ourselves.
This stuff, it doesn't touch, it doesn't go through anybody else's hands, which is awesome.
And how do you get, so you, you might want to have, try it.
I'm actually, because I've got, because it's great.
I've got, oh, do you not have any of this in your fridge?
Do you not, uh, I see the fellas drop by.
and when we were doing the artwork,
they gave a little sneak peek of the can,
which was great, but look at the inside.
Oh, no.
That's a swing and a mess.
They were just doing the art.
They didn't have the beer ready.
Yeah.
Oh, son of a gun.
Is Jack drinking those this morning?
Is that what you had in the glass?
No, no, no.
I'm out.
Can I get them down here?
This only within the walls of origin brewing in Strathmore
on 60 spruce drive has the blonde burner,
the Barn Burner blonde been tasted.
But you will get your chance soon enough, boys.
Take a look here coming up.
Next week, it's the official launch party for Barnburner Blonde, Origin Brewing, Flames
Nation are going to roll it out Tuesday, November 28th.
That's less than a week away.
Let's get this thing going.
I guess it is a week away.
Ones have more fun.
I love it.
Wans have more fun, baby.
try it, buy it, love it.
We are going to be out there.
Next Tuesday, Warner is coming back home for it.
You know it's a big deal.
You know, it's a big deal.
We're going to be out at the tap room,
60 Spruce Drive, which is if you're coming,
it's right off the TransCanada.
Can't mess it, boys.
You go south at the McDonald's.
Go south at the McDonald's to the dead end.
It's on your right. It's right there.
Boomer, Pinder, Warner,
we're going to be out there meeting people.
we want you to come and see us.
We're going to have some bullshit session.
We're going to have the hockey hot stove, whatever people call it.
We're going to tell some stories, tell some lies, some stories that aren't fit for air.
We're going to shoot the shit and talk some hockey with everybody.
You can come and meet the Origin Brewmasters, learn about how they got this blonde,
about how they do all their things.
You can take a tour of the brewery.
There's going to be prizes.
And all in all, we're just going to have a hell of a good time.
Next Tuesday, 7 o'clock, it's the official launch party of Barn, Burner, Blonde, produced by
origin brewing. Looking forward to it. Now, and the one thing that we ask,
because they have the tap room, we're going to, we're going to ram that thing.
So get a reso. And it's not because we, we kicked it back and forth that we want to do
tickets and this sort of thing. It's just, just come. Just come and hang out. We want to see you.
We want you to try the beer. We want you to buy the beer. That'll be your first opportunity
to buy it. And you know what, Rhett will have a silver sharpie. Ret will sign the can for you
if you want.
Some autographed first run,
Barnburner Blondes.
Because when this thing turns into,
because this is, you know, right?
When,
whatever, the Houston Astros are celebrating the world,
and national and international.
Yeah, they're not going to have tubs of Budweiser.
They're going to have tubs of Barnburner blonde.
Teams are going to be celebrating.
That's right.
If you, uh, reservations,
it would be great if you would email info,
at origin brewing.ca.
There's the email.
Info at origin brewing.c.a.
And just let us know.
We're coming. We're bringing this many people
just so we can kind of have an idea.
Good idea on the room.
Yeah. Can't wait to get out there.
It's a great room. And to meet the people that make the beer,
you can really see how much these people love what they do.
And that that translates into like, yeah, people care about the end product.
Like the whole Warner-Wipsy thing, that tells you they care.
They want it to be of a certain standard.
Round one, this ain't it.
We can tweak this, boom, there it is.
That's the one.
That's our barn burner blonde.
Do they have a couch?
They have lots of comfy chairs around.
Do you need a couch?
You need to lay down?
I'm going to need a couch because I'm going to crush.
Yeah.
Well, once you arrive with your police escort from Calgary International Airport,
we'll have a brand new sofa for you to lounge upon.
Maybe even what's the one with you?
I just want to get established with these guys.
And when I stop out there, I may not leave and have,
it's possible I'll be having sleepovers with the fellas.
That's actually a great point.
Yeah.
Is it too much to ask,
Sterling?
Like,
come on, man.
Walking in with their sleeping bags and pillows.
Hey, guys,
when's the party start?
We got your couch right here.
Like,
oh, no,
no,
I don't know.
This goes in the tap room just behind that door.
I don't want to,
I'll stand and sit here,
but I go in there to sleep.
Just tuck it in that back room.
Perfect.
I can't wait.
Yeah.
I mean,
I'm so happy for them because they,
they put so much.
pride into it, right? It's, this is, they're farmers, but they also love this and they,
this is not just, ah, let's give this a try. You know, she'll go, wow, whatever. They're all in.
I mean, they're, like I say, they're malton. They're brewing. They went that,
not every place. They bought their own canner. Yeah. That thing there, that's theirs.
We can't wait for people to keep showing up and to, to can or beer. Let's go. So they do
everything on site. And they're, they're so, they're so excited. And we're, we're excited to be a part of
it too. So get it going. So again, next.
Tuesday night, it is the official
launch party. We'll tell you, we'll obviously be
talking about it between now and then, but we're looking forward to
getting out there. Info at originbrewing.
dot CA. Love it.
Uh,
I want to tell, you know what, let's
let's do this for McLeod Law.
I need a lawyer.
Really? See how next Tuesday
goes. Just behave, everybody.
Behave, all right? It's Strathmore. I know things,
you know, Strath Vegas, things can go a little sideways,
but McLeod Law.
Peter Klein,
you talk about good guys, unassuming guys. Peter Klein is, he's a great human and he is the best of what he does.
He's the personal injury guy. He's also the go-to guy in Calgary for disability insurance.
If your long-term disability insurance company is refusing to pay insurance benefits to you, then contact Peter.
Get him on your team, get him working for you. And then you just, you don't need to worry about it.
You've got the best in the business. He will get you the disability benefits you paid for and that you deserve, by the way.
get that peace of mind that you that you paid for and that you've earned, you just get better.
You worry about you.
It's McLeod Law here in Calgary.
Today, in flames history, happy birthday to, I believe, two-time?
At least because one time and then a second time and then a contract extension, Alex Tongay.
Tangs 44 years old today
342 games with the Calgary Flames
86 goals and 284 points.
Playmaker. Good knack for finding the open guy.
Right, is he coaching Detroit right now? Is that where he is?
Detroit! Yeah.
Just looking there. And that doesn't tell you
because 342 games, 284 points. He obviously won a Stanley Cup
Young in in Colorado with Bob
art play but hey season yeah he uh smooth hockey player smart hockey player so was was fun to watch
made guys around him better and just kind of just a quiet nice what's that didn't make red
better didn't make you better the other end of the rank you'd be helpful red not you're that's shitty
he was the guy that was frustrated with it's like yeah water was wide open there could we do something
with the puck other than smash it.
It's that Brett Hall's story.
D to D and icing is not a breakout.
That's not a breakout.
Love that play.
Tangs, are you going to come back or what?
Are you going to come back and help out on the, like,
back check you ever heard about it?
It was such a funny, sorry, I'm interrupting your story
and what you're doing, but it was such a funny dynamic
when Tangs was there because it was kind of
Tangs and Iggy and the forwards.
They're like, Jesus, you dumb.
defenseman. Can you please do something with the puck and Reggie and probably myself and
I think, can you guys at least come back in some sort of support? Like, we're not that good.
We can't get it up to you. Like, it was always a battle. How are we going to play?
And it was interesting because that 04 team, there was no mistaking. Like, you weren't the dynamic
offensive club. And everyone did come back. And then as you sort of brought in some higher end
guys around, Diggy, it's like, no, no, no, we can outscore teams. It's like, well, hang on. How do we
get good in the first place. That was a real thing for, I want to say, like five, six years.
And the beauty of it, both sides probably had a point. They did both have a point.
The forward certainly could have tried coming back a little harder.
And the D. Robert R. Gear didn't have to shoot it off the glass as a breakout. Like he was
talented enough to push himself. I was open. Oh, did I ice it? Sorry. Maybe if you came
back.
Well, stubborn. Both sides, just stubborn as hell too.
And again, you were obviously there, but even from a distance from guys that were covering the team, you could, I mean, it was a, it was twice a week.
You could tell that it was like, yeah, you could hear little things, little comments in the room or watching, watching morning skate or watching practice.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Here.
A little snipe there.
Because it would be, because Jerome and Tangs were tight.
And Jerome, as we know, stubborn.
And then I like the way that you said, you know, guys like Reg and, you know, probably.
me would be
probably you, hey?
Probably you?
Whoa, fuck!
Oh, maybe if you came back, fuck!
You can just imagine.
I didn't fit into the new era.
No, you were not in the new era.
I like the Red kind of tried to sell himself
as just watching this debate.
I was a moderator.
No, no, you were in the middle of it.
We know you.
I do remember, though, seeing Reg.
Sli. Sour.
Like you say,
frustrated and and everybody wanted it to work but at the same time everybody really believed that what they were right they were selling was the way to do it because and and remember now it was not just you and regg kipper's part of that group too yeah
kipper's jobs easier if everybody comes back and tries to keep the puck out of the ad no well and pender made a point we'd had success playing a certain way so there was a bit of a belief that if we just continued that but probably wrongfully so right like dance with the one that
got you there, but also the game it changed.
You couldn't play that way.
That's true.
You couldn't water ski through the neutral zone.
It was less rugby at that point.
That's true.
Change those rules.
What's going on, honey?
Is that you're back again?
And it doesn't have any.
Oh, it doesn't have any protection.
Just a mesh.
Oh, yeah.
That hurt.
Well, you could sit up.
That's like a Warner cross check in front of the neck.
If I had a burn burner blonde, I could feel that.
Yeah.
If only you did.
More blonde.
Happy birthday to Tangs.
I would love to get Tangs on the show.
He's,
I mean, he's such a nice guy.
You know what he is?
He's a smiling, pleasant human being.
You know, along with Johnny.
Again, something that's kind of interesting is that you would not envision
Tangs and I getting along and we get along.
Is that right?
Smashingly.
Well, that's probably more,
probably more tangs than you.
It's because he get, it's because of the Christmas parties that he absolutely loved.
He got absolutely smashed up and he didn't realize that he was a fun.
love and fella and then he oh this is great yeah you know who else's birthday is today dan oh uh well
one of the burgeoning stars of the hockey club uh 29 year old now nick d simone had a boy
mckey 29 for the first time he might be having a he might take it a bit of a breather
outside of last night yeah i really like the way he's played yeah it might be uh denny gilbert
time, Rhett. It was a tough one for old.
You know. Like Bradbert.
You don't change a winning lineup,
Render. We'll see.
More on Nashville. Yeah.
You talked about feeling good on the right time and you got to keep
it going, Rat. How do you like rolling into
Nashville on a 5-1 and 2 stretch?
Off day today, they were in the
wee hours. We're doing a little country music
brunch here or what's going on?
I'd be shit-faced already.
The honesty on this show is just
remarkable.
Are they in the same? Are they an hour ahead?
Is that?
It is an hour ahead.
I think it's central time right now.
Yeah, why not?
The best band started 10.
You wouldn't be alone.
You wouldn't be alone.
Can we tell us that day, the best band started 10?
Can we tell us if we didn't stop playing until about 3 a.m.
I want to do that trip next.
I think that is the next trip with the boys from origin and whoever else wants to go.
We're going to make a return trip down to.
When's guitar picks and hockey sticks?
We should go down for that.
That would beat me up.
That would beat me up, boys.
I'm
disciplined.
Let's just see how
Phoenix goes first
before we get too excited.
I just,
you know what,
though?
I know what makes
the big boy there tick.
Oh yeah.
Because you'd get up in the morning,
have some coffee.
Oh, I don't feel very good.
Have some I have some breakfast.
I got some nurses coming with an IV.
And then it's,
oh, so the bands are already playing, eh?
Well, I may go have.
I think you'll just go have one or sit down, see how it goes.
And you know how it is when you have one and it's just delicious.
You have one and it's delicious.
And live music, live country music in Nashville.
Now I'm dancing.
Who is the man?
You had them here for the, for Stampede.
They were staying at your buddy's place.
There was a band that was playing that I think they turned worst into a little saloon for a week.
Yeah.
We saw them in Nashville.
You were all pumped up to see them
and they had sort of the earlier slot,
like 10 till noon or something.
Yeah, that was Kenny Wagner's band.
Red boot productions or something like that.
John, uh,
I want to say John,
Regan,
I was going to say Regis,
but that was the owner of the Sabres
when they went bankrupt and went to jail.
Riggins.
You just in Kathy Lee,
that was the show.
That was different.
Oh, and the thing is,
you go to Nashville.
There's no shitty bands.
Oh, God, no.
You know what?
I can't listen to you.
Do you guys go to that Mexican joint when you went for the draft?
No.
Right across from Bridstone.
There's a Mexican place.
Oh, Pinder, you'd be in heaven.
Yeah.
Damn it.
The margaritas and the guac and just sit there all there.
Camann, let's go.
I was going to say, if I'm not mistaken, don't the direct flights, like, when those.
They're seasonal.
I'm going to do some Googling on that front.
Well, I mean,
listen first things first and let's do that we'll tell you about uh we'll tell you about
phoenix and then we'll get into uh the pinda report but first there you go that's so happy
birthday tanks and to nick d simone to varying degrees there you go mccloud law
proud of the calgary roots big part of their longstanding client relationships they understand
the city now you see you know because you see all these commercials and stuff it's like oh
these lawyers are great these lawyers oh well where are you guys uh well why well i'm in calg and i need some
I need some legal assistance. Where are you?
Oh, Toronto.
A lot of good that does me.
What do you know about this market?
So what am I supposed to do with that?
Calgary's a unique place. I need people to know Calgary.
Calgary roots run deep for McLeod Law here in the city.
They understand the people in it, the way things work.
And like the community, they are varied and diverse and share a commitment to making a positive impact on our city.
MacLeodlaw, McCloud.com.
what was I going to do?
Well, you're saying the trip.
I mean, you're talking about Nashville.
Right.
One foot in front of the other here.
Let's not go too far.
Yeah.
Let's, uh, because that's coming up.
What's the date today?
Jeez.
It's going to be here.
It's the first one.
Truly, it is.
We're less than two months away, fellas.
America.
I gotta get that passport done.
God damn it.
Rent, my passport expires in April.
You can't be traveling with 60 days or less on your passport.
Look a flight.
Go down to the passport office.
Show me flights.
Say,
Let's expedite this here.
Passport issue.
Done.
Okay.
Do you have to make that noise?
Mm-hmm.
They won't understand.
They're like, I don't think, sir.
Okay, yeah, back in this room here, we got you.
Oh, really?
Oh, I see.
Well, it is, it must be serious.
Come up to me, sir.
We are going to Phoenix in January, January, January 11th, 13th.
We are going to watch the flames and the coyotes play at Mullet Arena.
We have your flights, your hotels, your game tickets, transportation to and from the airport.
And right now, because it is Black Friday,
and everybody's putting stuff on sale,
why wouldn't we be the same?
1299 based on double occupancy.
Join us on the trip.
We're going to have a,
we're going to have a heck of a good time.
Dean's going to get a sunburn.
We're going to have a ring of ding, dong dandy of a good time.
It's going to be a ring of ding ton.
It'd be great if you'd come, guys.
1299 based on double occupancy.
And we have a Friday to ourselves.
Friday.
is do whatever the fuck you want day in Scottsdale
slash Phoenix slash Mesa, whatever you want.
You want to top golf, maybe you want to go to the outlet mall.
You could real golf.
There's a little bar in old town that has country music playing,
so that's...
That's high on Rett's power rankings right now.
I feel like we've got a full day. We need to map this out.
I got in so much shit there one time.
They're going to let you back in?
Bad.
Look at this.
Naber.
NABR and company.
They're booked. Mollett Palooza.
Mullet Palluzah. We need shirts.
That's what we're doing. We got to get rocking the mullet shirts for everyone.
Yeah, I like it. So get on it.
Now the website to book this, just do it now.
All right? Let's go.
I noticed one of our buddies had Buyers remorse. Did you see that?
It wasn't buyers remorse. It was passport remorse.
Is that what it was?
Yes. Did you read the email? He's like, well, I see.
You have to do this to you? Dude, get it to expedited.
Let's go. Get it figured out.
Anyway, nationgear.ca is the website where you go to book your spot.
Again, 1299, double occupancy, be there.
I know it's, it's, hey, it's the way guys work.
There is a bunch, it's like, we haven't sold very many of them.
It's like, just wait, don't worry about it.
And then think, think, think, think.
Oh, is it two months?
It's less than two months away.
And then it'll be less than a month away.
And then it's going to be sold out.
So don't, uh, don't be like guys that we are and procrastinate and wait too long.
Nationgear.
And book your spot in.
It is presented by Alberta Blue Cross.
There's only one thing better than sharing memories,
and that is making new ones.
Alberta Blue Cross travel insurance protects your memories.
And more, wherever travel takes you, visit AB.
dot bluecross.ca slash travel for more information.
Alberta Blue Cross celebrating life's memorable moments inspired by hockey.
That's, I'm sure, what's going to inspire memorable moments in our trip will be the hockey.
Well, I mean, the hockey's happening in a crazy barn.
I'm going to rock on the mullet.
We're going to have rocking the mullet shirts.
We're going to be pre-gaming.
We're going to be on campus.
It's going to be a blast.
I got in so much shit there one day.
Well, I'm in shit again.
I forgot my kid's equipment and he's supposed to skate here in half an hour.
Do you have to go, Rhett?
No.
What can I do about it?
I don't know how far away he is, but yeah.
No, he's at the rink where I'm at.
That's part of the reason I do the show for him.
So he's there.
So we had this issue last night.
He's folding me and I'm ignoring him.
A young man left his stick at a facility and all of a sudden we were slated to be very early and extra on time.
And instead, I did not get to eat dinner and was racing around the city looking and lost and found stick bins hallways for a misplaced stick.
Who is that fault here?
Is it the parents that have to oversee these children or is it like this is your gear?
That's a good point, Pender.
Screw my kid.
he should have put the stuff in the truck.
You're not playing hockey.
You're in charge of your gear.
That's right.
Do you have the things you need to coach today?
Maybe.
There is no worse feeling as a hockey parent.
And it's at that age,
although Rhett,
you're a kid should be old enough to have that figured out by now.
I told him that grab it.
Oh, did you?
And I don't know what's worse,
not having the gear at all,
or when you get to the room,
so you now know your.
less than an hour away from the game starting.
Why would we have one skate and only one skate?
How do we have one skate?
Why do you have one glove the amount of times that it's been,
okay, so what can we, okay, no elbow pad?
Okay, grab some hockey socks and wrap them around and get some tape.
Okay, is that going to, okay, that's going to work.
Okay, you don't have a jock.
Grab some hockey socks and ball them up and we're going to tape, tape.
Okay, now punch them.
Don't punch him.
Does this hurt?
Does this hurt?
Okay, out you go.
The shin pads were a little tricky, but usually you could find somebody.
You start walking the halls.
Hey, can I borrow your kid's shin pad?
We forgot ours.
It's just the cluster.
It's worse when your kid's the goalie.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It certainly is.
When your kid is the goalie.
Yeah, it kind of puts a ranch into a lot of things.
Like the morning we got out of the car and we're walking into the building and my daughter turns.
She's like,
Dad, where are my pads?
Oh.
And that never happens when it's the rink that's two minutes away.
No, it crossed down.
Yeah.
No.
No.
So we're about 45 minutes away from Puck drop and about 30 minutes from home.
Mother.
It's all right.
Those cities don't build himself without those red light camera tickets getting paid.
Yeah.
You're welcome, Calgary.
$148.
That's right.
Spend it wisely.
All right, Pinder Report.
Let's do it for our good friends up at Village Honda, Northwest Automall.
In-stock inventory is on the ground.
Start your automotive adventures at Village Honda.
New vehicle pricing is MSRP.
You know what?
Why don't you do that for Christmas?
You know, you see all the commercials where they got a big bow.
I don't know where you get one of those big bows.
Anthony will help you, right?
Don't worry about that.
You buy the new Honda?
they'll find a big bow, I'm sure, and put on the top.
Have you ever done that retro for the shoveler?
Hey, babe.
The shoveler got a new vehicle for a wedding gift.
Whoa.
You're at the big bow Emporium, getting one right on the hood.
Was it your wedding or somebody else's?
It's the Pinder Report.
Okay, fellas.
Well, we did some long form last night on the flames and cracking.
And why not?
It was a late start and we did a show this morning.
The smooth 92 minutes of.
post-game coverage. Here's a small sampling.
What if this 5-1-2 run? Because that's basically what they are in the month of November.
What if that's their October?
What is our-odd?
What is our narrative?
What is everybody's narrative?
What's the vibe around this hockey team?
If they're 5-1-2 coming out of October instead.
Well, if you give everyone 12 out of a possible 14 points, they look a lot better.
Because we- 12-12 to 16.
Yeah, of course, they'd look great, but they did.
They look like shit for those games instead.
We threw the gate open and just out to pasture.
You're done.
Yeah.
Off one.
Sort of the extension talk, to be fair, right?
Like the team and the agents did the same thing.
They're like, you know what?
Press pause.
Like, we'll pick this up later if we need to.
But right now we can't do this.
Yeah.
Because my guy's not locking in for eight years of piss poor team.
And the team saying, well, we can't lock up a core of a group.
It's not good.
But they deserve the concern.
They were bad.
They literally said to the media, we deserve to be booed.
I would have booed us.
Yeah, so that's not necessarily a takeaway from last night.
I'm upset that they are on a 5-1-2 run that was capped last night with the come from behind in the third period.
Victory in overtime, Rhett.
A victory in overtime.
Yeah.
Perfect in three-on-three.
Well, they don't lose Seattle.
Screw Seattle.
Yeah.
I hate the Cracket.
So they love the Crackent.
Yeah, it's whatever's legal there, they're hammering it.
And they're winning games.
They have no problems with that new,
that new ring now that leads Wigle.
Okay.
So some milestones last night in the comeback victory for the cavalry flames on the road
that moved them to 6 at 0 all time.
There's Captain Michael Backland.
500 career points.
Here is, well, the guys he teamed up with were 0.500.
It was Backland, Hubert O, Tarasmus Anderson,
in overtime.
And Rasmus tucks it in.
Two Swedes and a sweet goal to win the game.
game in overtime. That's how Backlin reaches the half millennium mark in points. That surprises me.
That's more than I thought. He was not a great point producer early in his career. He was not healthy a lot
early in his career. He still isn't a prolific point producer, but he's not at a thousand games yet,
and he's at 500 points, boys. And as Rhett said earlier, Rasmus Anderson, Puck Hogg.
Oh. Maybe Backlin gets that goal, you know, but no, it's because Rassmas is a puck hog.
The breadman.
No time.
Mangapani.
He had a couple taken away from him, some nonsense.
Had that last year, Mange.
Don't worry about last year, right?
We're here this year.
So happy for it.
Good job.
Yeah, that's better.
And Mange, there it is.
You have the two D-Men.
Hanny and Tanny setting him up.
It was a vintage Mangipani Golrette.
Dirty part of the ice right in front of the net.
Yeah, they really set them up.
Slams in a rebound.
Tack, Tto.
Well, and you look at TANF's smile, that's how the assists looked.
It was just whack it on net and it's got some bounces.
God, look at TANF.
I mean, that's something special.
He's an animal.
And he goes down the tunnel twice the night, I swear.
It's just the guy's a maniac.
You know what I love is when the Flames.com are their social media team,
they'll have photos of the guys walking in.
Yeah.
And you'll have Cadre or some of these guys.
A lot of the, you know, that fitted pants and no socks.
And you see the, you know, the, you know, the, you know, the,
shoes and then there's then there's 10 of it's like he's going to work the sales desks at uh tell us
or something this i think he's in the line looking for a job at the unemployment he's got a
hammering a muffin out of the side of his mouth it's still got teeth in it is walking in it's got
some brown suit he's probably got two suits one green one brown just oh yeah i guess i got a dress
up whatever it's uh he strikes me as one of those guys doesn't need fancy things no
He does not have a gold bathtub.
No.
Let's look at the standings.
We did earlier.
We'll quickly recap.
Here's the division.
Again, at the top,
Vegas been great.
Vancouver solid start.
L.A. has been sensational.
We'll talk about them more in moments, guys,
as they got games in hand on both those teams.
Look at that.
Three regulation losses,
better than Vancouver.
That's right up there top of the league.
And more news on them on the road.
They're not afraid to leave in L.A.
Seattle, two more games played.
in Anaheim and Calgary who find themselves
two, or one and two points back
respectively. And the Oilers,
another regulation loss. They lose
in Tampa
without Vasilevsky and follow it up
with a loss in Florida without
Barkov. And things got
a little pissy post game.
We'll get to that in a moment.
Are you going to run that?
Are you running that?
Some stuff.
Dean's the Pind Report.
Okay. I report, you decide.
Yeah.
Connor Zerry's having a great start.
Last night, ice time limited in the third
after that awful second period.
They shuffled things up.
But let's not lose sight of what's been a sensational start to be here.
This is from Flames Reddit.
When you realize Zeri has more points than Gidrode this season.
What?
That's the thing, fellas.
What?
I take no pleasure in Johnny struggling.
I don't either.
You know how I feel about John?
It's a statement about Zeri.
That's what it is.
That's how good he's been.
I want good things for John.
not happy to see this.
Bring him home.
This is not victory.
Bring him home.
Perhaps it's shitty enough in Columbus.
It's certainly not going glowingly.
Come on.
Dean.
Come on.
Come on.
It's okay.
Come here.
Come on home.
Bring it in.
Come on.
Come here.
It's okay, buddy.
It's okay.
Come to daddy.
Come on home.
It'll be okay.
It's not your fault.
It's not your fault.
It's not your fault.
Big bad tree is gone.
You can come back.
Johnny, it's not your fault.
Yeah, Boston pizza.
He's out of here.
You don't need to.
Come back where you're loved.
It's not your fault.
You don't need to eat those cactus cuts anymore.
You can just come home.
That's slander.
Come on now.
I love cactus cuts.
They're so good.
Here's the schedule, fellas.
Tough road trip.
Three games, four nights, three cities.
And maybe a hangover.
They're in Nashville drinking right now if they're like rat.
I'm drunk right now.
41 Coors Lights.
November 22nd is a tomorrow.
That's a 7 p.m. start.
It is a tomorrow.
Friday's a Friday.
That's Hawaiian T-shirt Day.
They'll be in Dallas against a very good stars club.
And a cranky avalanche group last night.
We'll see how they look on the weekend
as it's the second half of a back-to-back.
Good thing that airport's located so close to the rink in Colorado.
It is convenient.
It's so convenient.
When you land at an airport, you know what you really want to do?
settle in for a nice hour long drive.
Fuck.
They'll be getting in at like 3 a.m.
Mile high hippies.
Which one's worse?
That one or the Ladook airport in Edmonton?
Ladook is stupid as well.
They're both stupid.
And also
San Jose's airport and their
curfew bullshit.
The thing about Denver is at least it's Denver you're getting to.
In Edmonton, it's
because that's the thing.
Now they've been...
Built a new arena in Edmondson.
Right.
But it's no closer to the airport.
The airport's still in Ladoque.
Right.
Yeah, the gravity between those two,
they haven't pulled together.
It's still, yeah.
Anyway, so I didn't need to pile on Edmonton.
Either way, that's the schedule.
We'll learn a bit about this club as we talked about busy month ahead.
Lots of road games, lots of contenders.
I wonder if they go 500.
What will happen, though?
Let's go to NHL News.
You want to talk about surprises.
You unveiled a big surprise with,
the Barnburner Blonde today in Origin Brewery.
How about this surprise?
Royalty in Vancouver.
Look at that.
PH.
Prince Harry.
Now, is that one the air or the spare?
Which one is this guy?
I think this is the spare, right?
That's, uh, yeah, that's nobody.
That's the spare.
He's like, so what do I, what do I get?
So you're going to be king someday.
What am I?
Yeah.
Well, if he dies, we need you.
So just be around if we need you.
great dude apparently
look at the fellas
Thomas Hurdle's like
drop the puck
I guess you have to tell him
drop the puck
you drop the puck now
Oh I didn't know that
No one told me
They were cheering hooting and hollering
And who are they cheering for
Well the best player in the history of hockey right now
Quinn Hughes has been unbelievable
Unbelievable
What a snipe I mean first off
McKenzie Blackwood feel free to play that angle a little better
But Quinn Hughes is on a heater right now
like we almost never see.
In fact, two players have done what he's done.
Bobby Orr five times,
greatest defenseman of all time,
and our boy Al McKinnis here in Calgary in 1990,
when Jack was not even an idea in his father's head,
30th point through 20 games is a D-Man.
Wow.
There you go.
You only connect to do it faster,
not a D-man, a forward, you won't guess it.
Sorry, I wasn't.
What's the question?
30 points in 20 games never been done by a defenseman obviously in Vancouver one forward only has done it
and we won't guess it you could try raw raw the little guy ral rhapsby team cliff ron
ron tanti i was going to say tony tanti too late i missed it dean sir i didn't miss it i said it
oh your second guess you're right after your indus started saying caught me fuck that
I said it.
It's the delay on the internet.
Well, you should pay for an upgrade.
You guys need, I'm that fast.
Now you're,
now I can't hear you right.
You're yelling.
You're breaking up there.
You need to check your connection.
People, you know, you know,
I said Tony Tanty.
Okay.
No, we'll have to agree to disagree there and move to the L.A.
who love life on the road.
Like a young Rett Warner.
Look at these cats.
rolling in style.
They have now started the season
with eight straight road wins.
What?
They are a good.
They're a good. They're a good unit, man.
Deep. They got a good blue line. They have
gotten goaltending thus far.
And you know what? You look at that trade that they made for Dubois.
Yep. They traded a number of pieces, but with all the
younger guys coming in, it was a, it was a, it was a,
It was an easy deal in terms of assets for them to make.
And that's another big centerman with them.
They are solid, dude.
And what do they got for goaltenders?
And Talbot's been great.
Been really good.
And look, if worst case scenario, you go get another guy at the deadline.
And Talbot's a part of a platoon or is your backup?
But they're not missing other parts of this roster.
You think of them down the middle.
You go Copatard-Denot-No Pierre-Luc de Bois.
And Byfield's playing the wing.
Like if you need to slide that guy to the middle, you can.
That is great depth down center ice.
And they've been ousted by the Oilers in some really good playoff series the last couple of years.
Maybe it's Kings years, fellow.
Maybe it's their year.
I'd love to see Kings Knights in the playoffs too.
It'll be fun.
And there again, a guy like Cam Talbot has been great.
Available as a free agent.
Another example of how easy it is for any team in the National Hockey League to go out and find quality net mining.
You keep saying this.
And I don't know if he's being serious or he's trying to like,
push something and like will it into the universe.
He's about a lot of teams, clearly.
Because he's not raving about the guys that signed
and have looked like dog shit. It's only guys playing well that he
says it's easy to find out. Camtalbitt's had a hell of a year
and was available for
anyone to sign. I just don't know how we know
which goalies are going to be good in the offseason.
There's so many of them, Ryan.
Yeah, there's so many. I mean,
it's hard to swing and miss.
That's the sentence about goalies.
They find away the other side.
Hey, we get some good NHL news.
And I'm seeing people whine and moan.
And this pisses me off because it reminds you my kids where it's like,
you know what?
You've been behaving well.
Let's do, I'll give you a treat.
Well, I want these.
You can't have those.
Just pick the chips.
No chocolate bar.
Chips or cookie.
I want the chocolate bar.
Like, guy, I've given you a tree here.
This is what hockey fans are now doing.
We have best on best international hockey coming in the winter of 2025.
And people are moaning that it's only four countries.
We're going to have McDavid playing with Bedard playing with
Sidney Crosby and you're going to bitch about it.
We're going to have Hughes and Matthews
and Cain on the same team and you're going to moan?
You're going to have Elias Pedersen playing
with the best Swedes?
Come on now. This is
what we've been missing since forever.
And what an idea for a tournament, guys.
You actually need your passport, not your birth certificate
of when you were born to make the teams. There's no U23
nonsense dog shit. There's no collection
of neighboring countries team.
It's going to be a four nation, Sweden,
Finland, Canada, USA.
I'm very excited.
no time for your negativity
right
don't know me
come on
what's the harm in adding more teams
because Russia's in some shit right now
so you can't call that makes things complicated
Belarus complicated
and then like who's your next world power
that needs an invite
you could make it a six nation tournament
with Czech Republic and Slovakia I suppose
but then it's like well hey
Germany Germans
So here's a start.
We like the Ryder Cup.
We don't own that there aren't South Africans at the Ryder Cup.
It's Europe.
It's America.
This can be a great event that also could be part of Olympics and World Cups.
I want to see Best on Best.
We get four of the best countries on Earth at hockey doing best on best.
That's better than zero.
See, you want the chocolate bar.
I'm offering you.
I don't know.
I'm good with my popcorn.
and I have that all winter and I don't, I actually don't clamor for best on best and international hockey.
You don't want to see Canada, USA?
You know what, Rhett?
I think it's, I would do it if it's in the right scenario.
Go to the Olympics and play in the Olympics.
Sure.
I just want to see Canada USA.
A four game playoff?
No, you're cheating.
It's, it's, it's, it's, you half-assed it again.
It's kind of, yeah, it's just, let's, it's a made-up thing.
We know we can make some money, so let's, let's, it's a made-up thing.
We know we can make some money, so let's, let's it's a made-old thing.
Let's throw these four.
Like, if I was one of the players, I'd be like, F you.
Hey, guys, congratulations on winning the whoopty-do cup.
How do you feel?
Well, I've dreamt my whole life of winning.
How did you like, just let's refresh our memories, clean palette.
How did you like the Canada Cup back in the day?
I don't even remember it.
Shut up.
That was the greatest hockey moment of my life because I lost three Stanley Cubs.
Did we like the Canada Cup when we were hockey fans?
Let's be honest.
We loved it.
I loved Gretzky to Lemieux.
I loved Howard Chuck hooking there.
guy and hauling him down and allowing
Lemieux to get the shot off. I loved all of it.
Absolutely. Jesus Christ, three.
Three-time loser. I'd be
in jail forever in California.
They'd throw away the street.
You're out. Three strikes. You're out, buddy.
I knew there was one.
Sorry, bud.
Let's move along. Not getting a lot of support here
on my... No, you can take that. And we just
proved that you can't have
Frank talked about it. You can't have TV coverage
from Stockholm. So what the hell?
That's right. It's going to be too hard.
It's true.
Why do I get the sense if we put this in progress?
That's going to be a little more invested in wanting us covering this thing.
I'm going to need an invite to be able to check it out.
That's all I...
I'm going to be there.
I'll be there tomorrow.
Okay.
So we move from the Four Nations to something I can't read my script.
Oh my goodness.
Okay.
So we have news out of Boston regarding Milan Lucch.
This is brought in to be arraigned.
Here is legal proceedings.
I don't have any comments.
I'm except to read what Frank's tweeted.
Milan Luchis.
pleads not guilty to assaulting his wife and boss in court on Tuesday,
released on his own recognizance.
No.
I don't know what that is.
Recognisance.
Recognisance.
Yeah, okay.
Potato,
potato.
You've never heard of that?
I don't know what that means.
That's the only time you hear it is when it's in a court here.
You're released on your own recognizance.
You have been in.
McLeod,
Peter Klein and those guys,
they know how to break it down.
Text him.
Why do you don't?
We don't need to keep people abreast.
If you don't like that, you're going to hate this.
Some people are getting pissy on Twitter last 19.
I can't believe you're going to show this.
So let's start.
This is the scrum in Florida.
Connor McDavid and the Oilers lose again.
And Mark Specter's been on the beat since Jesus was a grasshop.
I don't know.
Here we go.
What's the hardest thing?
Like defensively, you guys are struggling.
Offensively, you got a couple of night, but the power play is struggling.
Like, are you better off?
try to win this thing, 4-1 or try to win at 7-5?
You love this question, but I've answered it so many times.
We're trying to keep the puck out of our net, obviously.
That's our main focus, and obviously we haven't done that, again, for a number of different reasons.
So we're always trying to defend.
Yeah.
So Rhett would say dumb media question, and there's some validity there.
And secondly, can we see it?
the pain that Connor's enduring
here? Oh.
He's not the problem, fellas. He's nothing even close to the
problem. He's the captain. He's the captain. And he has to wear all
this shit because no one knows how to build a team around two superstars, apparently.
Captain answers questions.
Except in Calgary, apparently.
He's the face of the team. He's going to answer questions.
He should be answered questions about a lot of wins if this team's built properly.
I feel for this guy. I'm on Team Specter.
I know everybody's coming at Spector
I've well just I know but I've been in scrums before
where because you're thinking okay because you're kind of listening to what he's saying
and you're thinking of other things it's okay so you're waiting for him
I know what spec is getting at and I've been there where you ask a question then you realize
that doesn't sounds good I haven't yeah you know what I didn't maybe put that the way that I
should best have phrased it and again before we get
picking size here. There's no problem with that interaction. Connor McDavid's not
pissy with Spector. Spector's question, whatever. That's like you said. It happens
that every scrum is a question. You're like, yeah, it's not really good question. That's not
where the drama begins. The drama begins where Tim Peel, former NHL official, gets on Twitter
and starts criticizing Mark Specter. And then
he and Specter start going at it in the DMs and he posts
the DMs online. What? So Peel
tweets. This is what happens when you call
followed an Edmonton reporter for asking Connor McDavid if he'd rather win four to one.
An idiotic question, of course.
An idiotic question, of course they would.
This is why some players don't want to play in Canada, blah, blah, blah.
So he must have tweeted something because then Spector sends him a DM.
Thanks for piling on Tim.
I'll remember that the next time you fuck up.
Peel responds.
Stupid question.
Of course they'd like to win 4-1.
Spector.
You refs have the balls to, you refs never have the balls to answer a question.
for your shit-ass work and you're critiquing me.
Peele.
Being so sensitive, says Peele.
Grow some balls, Mark.
You never played the game.
Spector.
Been around it long enough to know a horseshit ref when I see one, Tim.
I've been very good to read for my whole career.
35 years.
Thanks for noticing.
And then at the bottom, if you can read it,
it's kind of covered around my screen.
It's, uh, then Peele responds.
You've always been a fucking fraud, buddy.
like this.
Tim Peel takes these out of the direct private messaging,
a conversation these two people have and posts it on the internet last night.
Is it still up on his?
Yes.
Because I grabbed the screen.
I grabbed them quick because I was like, whoa, that's a spicy meatball.
That's a spicy meat of ball.
And then I went and it's like, oh, geez, he's still kind of.
Yeah, shit.
still got it on. I don't look
there's a lot going on there obviously.
There is a lot.
Bicker. I think I'm all
for for fighting. I don't
think I
that's kind of shitty to put
something private on
the internet for all to see. I think.
Yeah and spec's just doing spec.
That's nothing out of the ordinary. I don't
think anything Spector's done is different
than what he normally does things.
I don't love the question he's asking.
That's okay. That happens in scrums all the time.
But for, and Tim Peel, are you not playing right into the stereotype of the ref?
Like, is that not a loser behavior to go post a private conversation?
Is that not why our worst preconception or notion of refs are?
It's like, oh, yeah, like dudes with no friends that don't get socially how to behave and want to make it about them.
Like, isn't that exactly what we're seeing here?
Like, you're playing right into the stereotype, Tim.
It does look that way to me.
That's one of those things when you tell your kids.
Everything is on the internet.
If you type something, if you put something out there,
there's no racer.
You've got no horse in this race.
I don't understand what the,
what's Peel's.
Exactly. He's making it about
now. The thing is, maybe he's doing
exactly what he should be doing.
Like there are people that go out there
and cause shit on social
media and it's,
it can actually benefit them. I don't know what
Tim Peel's approach to the rest of it.
Well, you know, he says
he said something and then
Spector hit him with the, you know, thanks for piling.
on. Because again, just from the media side, you look at it, how many times and how many different
ways, because Mark Spector travels, he covers the team every day, at every practice, every
skate, how many different ways can you ask the players, your goaltending's the shits?
How does it make you feel? Because that's essentially what's happening. Here's another game where
they scored enough goals to win, but their goaltending isn't good enough. You can't, because you know,
and then you know what you're going to get for an answer.
You can't ask.
That is not going to bury his teammates, right?
So he, and again, was it worded the way spec?
Probably, maybe not.
But he's trying to delicately get an answer.
Yes.
You know, would you rather win four to one or seven five?
He actually gave him an out even.
Yeah, you're trying.
Question for a quote because that's what you're doing in these things.
You're not looking to ask good questions.
You're looking to get answers that you can quote for stories.
You're trying to get people talking.
You're not trying to ask good questions.
that are yes or no answers.
You need people to talk so you can use their quotes.
And remember, I don't know why I'm going to bat for spec.
I just, I, I like spec and I see where he's coming from.
You're also in a locker room.
Imagine being in that room right now.
They were picked.
They're miserable.
They were picked widely as a Stanley Cup finalist or winner.
Winner.
Team to beat.
And now you're traveling and covering this team every day.
And the mood is, it's death's door.
death's door right now.
And you've got to go in there and keep asking questions.
And the last thing these guys want to do is talk to you about anything.
And don't forget to add the fact that every team in the league has a bit of a say or an opinion on how their guys are allowed to cover the team or should cover the team.
So you have to walk that line too.
And again, remember how they must feel too.
You take it all that away.
Our goaltending is the ship.
Can we get a fucking save already?
Yeah, exactly.
Like, California wasn't the answer, apparently.
Can you stop a puck or can you stop a puck or Christ, could you get us a goalie that can stop a puck?
Please.
Yeah.
Interestingly, this comes on the heels of the Woodcroft firing where Woodcroft in one of his final press conference says, yeah, I don't read spec.
And then Spector writes an article talking about the coach does read them.
And it's like, okay, like this is just a toxic place to do a job, no matter what side you're
on right now.
It happens a lot though.
Not boring. Not the not the P.L. Specter thing, but you know, you got Larry Brooks in New York.
You think about baseball and football. There will be guys that,
that cover teams that, yeah, they've got a bit of an aura to them for being one way or the
other. I, anyway. It only gets better for the one thing. And I do like this.
This is from, I believe, someone on Twitter that works at Sportsnet. And I
underrated part about this whole thing is learning that Tim Peel has his iPhone text set to so big so he can read it.
No wonder he missed so many calls during his career.
Yeah, get that a like.
That's good stuff right there.
Let's move on.
NFL.
Jack's boy.
Into the sun,
out of the sun,
Mars mission,
best quarterback over.
Can I just say to go back to that that?
I love it.
I wish there was more of that.
That's why I posted it.
I'm not picking sides.
It's like Melrose place,
right?
I can't stop watching.
It's awesome.
It's great.
Everyone should interact that way.
Don't worry about it.
Everyone should empty their DMs publicly.
Holy.
Now, can you imagine if Warner got into it with somebody on text and then they put it on Twitter?
Oh, you'd be, you'd be polishing up your forehead to give that guy a head butt so fast.
Forehead, you're polishing off a rifle.
How do I get out of this?
Can we delete the internet place, sir?
Where were we?
Kenny Pick it.
Now, not the best run for him.
Here's a stat that stings a little bit.
This is said by the wall.
I don't even want to show this anymore.
It doesn't matter.
You have to do the jack.
Where's the Jack camp?
Jack, can we go to the Jack Cam?
Got to get you in there, Jack.
All right.
So Kenny Pickett, same number of touchdown passes the last two years as Matt Ryan,
who retired week 14 last season.
Less than.
He's got one less than Matt Ryan.
Oh, shit, he's got less than Matt Ryan.
And Ryan was a disaster, if we remember.
Yeah, and who was it that got hurt?
It was Anthony Richardson had as many touchdowns since, like, October 1 at 2.
It's been, poor Kenny.
Poor Kenny.
He just wants to know if Jack's in or out.
He can't handle this.
It needs a better offensive scheme.
Scheming.
They do fire Matt Canada.
Let's go live to the Jack Cam for instant reaction.
Here's our Steelers insider.
Jacko.
This is the biggest day in Steelers history.
Bigger than Super Bowl wins.
Yes, it is.
I mean, there's got to have been bigger days.
No, this is the biggest day.
Three years of Max Payne.
has finally come to an end.
No more bullshit jet sweeps,
no more first down one-yard runs.
We're back.
We're so...
This is unbelievable.
Guys, you've got to see this.
He believes this shit.
I hope you're right, Jack.
I hope you're right.
I'm what's hell, I guess.
Can we get a picture of you again and look at you?
It's been a while.
Just pull up the jack cam for us.
We got one more.
Now, this is applicable to Rett.
One more on a phone note for you in a moment.
as we got a big Thursday slate.
They've now added in that Friday.
I forgot about the Friday game, Dean.
Remember they doing the Friday?
Blocked right.
We're doing the Friday after you may as well.
Why not?
NFL just keeps finding more ways to make money.
I don't know how they do it.
Here are your halftime shows for the Thanksgiving Day games.
Packers at Lions, Jack Harlow.
No relation.
Commanders at Cowboys.
Dolly Parton and Steve Aoki for the Niners and Seahawks.
Pick one fellas.
Jack, you go first.
Sorry, I completely missed that whole thing.
Okay, Rhett, you go first.
We're picking an artist.
here. You can only go to one of these shows.
I don't know who one and three are, so
I'll go with Dolly. Yeah, that makes sense.
Dino? I'm Dolly all day.
Okay.
Especially with Christmas coming.
Who's Dolly?
Oh, Jesus Christ. You're joking.
Shut up, Jack. God damn it.
Oh, my God.
Fuck sakes. Who's Dolly?
You're joking.
Jack. Who is Do you not know who
Dolly pardon is?
You make it. This is a fire
offense, Jack. You and...
You're walking a tightrope here, pal.
Look at the comments.
Fire him.
Jack.
Jack, how old are you?
I'm going to try to back you up here.
25.
So when Jack was in high school,
how old is Dolly? In her 50s?
Irrelevant.
I do understand this history.
Do you know who Elvis Presley is?
Yes.
You've heard of Elvis. Okay.
Do you know who Elton John is?
Yes.
Okay.
You should know who Dolly Barton is then.
Hot blonde,
I'm Googling, quick.
Yeah, Google.
Yeah, you're getting one more.
How old is she?
Well, most of her, at least.
Who cares?
Don't ask a lady her age, Pender.
Well, the internet knows.
I'm more curious.
I'm not trying to bad.
She's an icon.
She is an icon.
And beyond the music, she's obviously very well known for other things.
Like, she's such as.
Dollywood.
Dollywood?
she's an icon she's absolutely a music icon uh okay so glad we got that little
dolly that should be a t-shirt Jesus Jesus
don't wear it Nashville you'll get punched in the face
okay we'll move along last couple items for you uh we mentioned the prince was in Vancouver
Red worst Pinda report ever no I disagree this has been great it's best ever you get to see
how many drops we got in here uh there's a new uh
So now the king goes on our money, which I'm sure you love.
Rett's a big, big fan of the monarchy and the common law.
That looks nothing like them.
It doesn't.
He's got the double chin gone there.
A little bit of sag.
So people are asked for the feedback on it.
Take a good look and what feedback would you have on the coin.
Kind of like the queen a little more.
Yeah, it's too big.
Yeah, you're right.
That fucker's not going to work in anybody.
How am I going to put this into a...
I'm a better person than this person.
How am I carrying the two of these in my pocket?
This is bullshit.
I'm like, I just want to drink.
This doesn't fit in the machine.
I can't accept that change.
This has to go in your tip bin.
And finally, Rhett, in the world of health and science, as you told us earlier about,
tell us what this new machine is that you've got.
And is this like crystals in your ears for balance or what are we working on here?
Let's have a look.
navigate
Oh no
Oh no
Sacre blue
Oh dear
I was going to say
Because I didn't know how that was going to end
What are we working on here?
Definitely this should be done
On the side of a hill
You didn't know how this end
Or you were waiting for you knew how it was getting
Soccery blue indeed
Yeah
Yeah that's for your
your ears, your stability?
Yeah, when you're equilibrium,
you get that, what do they call it?
Vertigo.
Vertigo, yeah, this gets rid of the vertigo.
Yeah.
You have other things to deal with after,
but you've got rid of it and you just got it right back.
That's your bitter.
Village Honda, pre-owned vehicles,
they got them. Huge selection of
used, all makes, all models, all budgets
over 70 units, more than 400
inside the dealership group. They are going to
find what it is that you desire.
your one-stop automotive destination in Calgary, Village Honda in the Northwest Automol,
your dealership for life.
Do we want to do now, because I should have checked with Jack, our point spread picks, because
one of us had the Monday nighter.
We would have done them yesterday, but we had the Monday night last night.
Did we take in much of the game last night?
I was jumping around a bit.
I saw the Eagles kick the ball to Kansas City ahead of the two-minute warning, got to the two-minute
warning, penalty, and then I was like, I could go back to the game.
I got to get live.
Yeah.
I was more watching the quarterbacks.
I didn't need that stupid Kansas City quarterback to get any more points.
You and the shoveler watching the quarterbacks with the key and I.
You know what's odd?
She had a few comments about the quarterbacks when we're at the game the other day.
Positive or negative?
Too insightful to, you understand.
You know a lot about quarterbacking.
Because they were playing the Jets, right?
The pocket presence.
Both sides or both teams?
I'm not taking part in this.
This is Pinders thing.
For Betway, Betway, Bet the Responsible Way with Betway.
We love you, Betway.
Get it on your phone.
You can do it.
Hey, do it out to your desktop.
However you do it, just get on the Betway app.
Get at Betway and bet the responsible way.
Quarterback's best friend, protection.
Good heavens.
Okay, there we go.
I did have the game last night.
Philly wins outright.
Thus, the plus three caches.
I go three for three.
Not allowed to have a Monday nighter.
Jack just scratch that one off.
You did it last week, you turkey.
What are you talking about?
Get out of here.
Bears cover Cowboys Crush and Philly.
Plus three.
Above the surface, I can finally breathe.
Look at this.
And 14 above 500 for the first time.
Incredible turn of events.
I'm proud of you.
Thank you.
You're the best.
Way to go.
Team guy.
Great in the room.
You're the best.
Pinder gets the Dallas,
the Dallas beat down.
Minnesota plus two and a half.
And Detroit did not cover seven and a half.
Sticking bears.
Win come from behind,
but did not cover the seven and a half.
So you go to two.
I wanted the bears,
but I'm full opposite George.
I'm now nine and three since going full opposite George.
that kind of i mean it's hard to say anyway so what was what was his record you're still yourself
yeah i'm getting there though sorry jack the jack picks from week whatever it is 11 uh Pittsburgh now
is this just are you like retz just every week you take the Steelers because then you were
off the Steelers and they won yeah no he's on and off if i didn't wake up to the news today i would
have been off. But now I'm back. I will be back on. Now you're back on. Okay. Well,
a lot this year for him. It's not. Yeah, it's hard. You need a scorecard. You need
a like a tracker or something. It's not. Stealers do not cover the plus one. Dallas. Were we
all on Dallas? Cowboys won easy and Vikings plus two and a half. What, Jack? In a tight one.
Yeah. The astronaut with a nice game winning drive, I guess. Pittsburgh for
and you just kind of were you were, you were I did it.
Jack to be supportive of Jack because I want Jack to have a nice time with his team.
You also tried to slide a greasy charges pick in there where they didn't cover.
So we're not seeing that.
God, just saying.
Bears cover, Bill's cover, Pittsburgh does not.
17 and 13 for the, uh, for the bragging rights for the group.
That's a good little run.
3 and 0 2 and 1, 2 and 1.
And do we do jacks or yeah?
Yeah, we did jacks.
We're as a group, we are on a nice role.
Pinder, you were 3 and 0, 3 and 0.
It was two and one, two and one, three and one.
Nine and three.
So again, it's just for fun, people.
That's what, when we say bet the responsible way,
don't go and get silly.
Just have some fun.
Have a little fun.
Yeah.
Bet the responsible way.
16 and 14.
Oh boy.
Looks good on you, Dino.
I'm just one back of old retro.
It felt like he was.
What was Jack's record?
No good.
I'm one behind you.
Oh, boy.
So, I had an old.
11 run there. That's impressive
to get behind me. Were you really?
Oh yeah. I had three over three
works in a row and I lost
a Monday night or the week before.
It's 10 and then I lost the first one
that's why I had to go opposite George.
Bet the responsible way
with Betway.
Now you were in Pittsburgh.
Now where was the Steelers Browns game?
Was it in Cleveland?
It was in Cleveland. Yeah. I think I remember
that weird logo. It's at Center Field there.
What is that rule?
It's like a, it's a thing.
Yeah, it's a, I don't know, whatever that is.
Because I knew you were in Pittsburgh on the weekend, retro.
I didn't realize that you, because I saw,
I saw this and you were at the football game, obviously.
But I, so I wasn't sure.
I didn't know you went to Cleveland to see the game.
I'm a Steelers guy.
There's retro at the game.
My jailhouse tat.
He's in the dog pound there.
You're so tired.
My buddy's kid works in the ticket departments.
You're so tired.
Now, which of your teammates in Saskatoon gave you that tat?
Remind us.
Chad Allen.
Chad Allen.
It's good work.
We've all been there.
He's our secret weapon.
I like the old bird behind.
She's like, turn your phone away.
Turn your phone that way.
Don't be that.
I'm about to put this on the internet.
Yeah, you're right, man.
you're right.
I'm not taking your video, you old bag.
Listen, you sweat hog.
I'll film what I want.
Yeah, listen.
Who said that in the ring?
That was the best.
That was Jesse Ventura.
Because what happened?
Best ever.
Adrian Adonis was going through his flamboyant phase
and was where he had dyed his hair,
blonde and was wearing flashy things.
And there was a match.
and somehow the camera was just panning back at just the right time.
Adrian, the adorable Adrian Adonis was in the,
he was watching the match.
He was in the seats and then climbed over the barricade,
hopped into the ring and interfered,
which was crazy.
And Jesse saw this happening.
He's like, wait, wait a minute.
What's how some fat sweat hog is in the ring.
Some fat sweat hog.
has gotten into the ring.
Oh, wait, it's Adrian Adonis.
Do you remember when we were playing that on the morning show how that came to be?
Do you remember that?
Well, I remember we called it up.
What was the circumstance?
So it was the first time the McDavid Oilers had made the playoffs.
And remember old double guns, the old guy, the gray mullet?
Oh, yeah.
And there was some heavy set oiler fan ladies given the bird to the sharks after they scored in the Oilers end.
and the sweat hogs
guys started getting dropped on the regular.
Some fat sweat hog.
I mean, Jesse's crazy.
He's bad shit crazy now. He's not crazy.
He's not crazy. He's the governor.
For Christ's sake. You can't be crazy if you're a governor.
You got to be straight and narrow, right?
All those politicians, you can trust them.
Yeah.
So anyway, I can't have you fall in asleep of football games anymore.
It's time for you to go and see Dr. Jay at outdoor dental.
Enough is enough.
Because when you have, when you're snoring, you're not sleeping.
You're just not.
getting quality sleep. When you don't get quality sleep, it affects every part of your life.
And you may just have a quick nappy poo during a Brown Steelers game. I don't know.
I typically don't snore when my head goes forward. Yeah. That'd be real trouble.
I don't know why your shirt was off necessarily because of that. But it would be why you would,
you would fall in asleep. Snoring treatments. Two 15 minute treatments with the Solaya laser increases the soft
palate tension. It reduces your snoring. It's non-surgical. It's pain free. Now the
solacea laser is about doing the dental work. No needles, no drills, no stress. So there is
that. It's state of the art. Pinder you've been there. Why have drills and all of that when you can
use a laser? It is the, it's the smart way to do it. Dr. J. Patel has invested big time at outdoor
dental for you, for you the people to have a better dental experience. And one of the perks,
snoring treatments,
two 50 minute treatments,
and it could cure your snoring.
So then you're not passing out
watching the Browns beat the Steelers.
Oh, yeah, yeah, what?
Very impressed with the results.
That's all right.
Two weeks after your second treatment,
that's where you're at,
it's where you're going to be.
And, you know, you do the first one,
you're like, okay, and second one,
then all of a sudden it's like,
I haven't heard you in over a week
in the middle of the night snoring.
What is going on?
I might not, you need this white noise anymore
in the bedroom.
It's not, yeah,
It's not a gimmick.
It is, it's legit.
So if you or one of your loved ones does suffer from snoring and it's affecting their life and affecting your life, why wouldn't you do it?
Outdoor.
Dental is the website.
Learn more from them.
Book an assessment or just get in there and get it done.
Do you have two 15 minute windows in your life that you could devote to curing your snoring?
I bet you do.
I bet you do.
Outdoor.
Dental.
Thank you, Dr. Jay Patel.
And if you've got dental benefits,
we cover most of the procedure typically.
There you go.
Better, more reason.
What are these benefits you're talking about?
Ask your wife.
That's what I do.
This could be a trick.
So are we assembling in Buffalo Red?
How is the, this is a big, big week.
One of the busiest travel days in the universe is tomorrow.
It is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving in America.
I don't know if I like it or not.
but I don't have to do anything.
I can show up when I want,
eat as much as I want,
fall asleep where I want,
and don't cleop up any,
like it's,
drink as much as you want.
Drink as much as I want.
Zero expectations of the next.
Line of the bills as much as well.
Because Thursday we have three football games to watch.
You were going to be at,
your,
your Buffalo fans.
family there. How many people are going to be there on Thursday?
I'm trying to think in my head, but
it's got to be 40 to 50.
Whoa. I thought 30, but 30's light when there's seven
like I have, there's five of me and then two and there's
another, like it starts to add up quick.
And do you have a reserved spot? Like is there now a, that's,
well, that's where Rhett sits. Absolutely. I'm like,
really? I am a huge favorite. You're a royalty in the family. It's like,
Prince Redd.
Well, Ryan, when you treat people, right, though.
Yeah, sure, that's how good.
You deserve.
Yeah.
So that is Thursday.
And so you're going to be doing Thanksgiving, being that you're in the U.S.
And I'm going in.
I got to go see Greg up at Bontan.
I have, we've been texting back and forth, but.
Are you a kitchen show on Thursday?
Yes.
We're going to do it.
Why not?
There's football on TV.
And we're doing a show.
And why wouldn't you?
So that.
that's happening. You know what I'm doing today?
Tell me. I'm making my gravy.
Oh. I got my tray of chicken thighs in the fridge ready to roll. I got onions and carrots and celery
and garlic and rosemary and all the spices. So we're making our get-ahead gravy today.
And then on Thursday, we'll be doing something during the show.
So is Greg going to just abandon Jack and I in the studios here on American Thanksgiving?
Well, we watch you and Rhett eat. Well, there's details to follow.
Oh, I like that answer.
You won't, but details to follow.
Green Bay, Detroit, 1030, Washington at Dallas, 2.30, San Fran at Seattle, the primetime game at 620, RET.
Enjoy the football.
And you know what is great in a way, I guess.
It never really matters how good the football is at the end of the day.
But Detroit's a good football team now.
It used to be one of those things that's of all the teams we've got to sit and watch the Lions.
There's three good football teams plan.
Our junk.
Lions are legit.
Niners are great.
Detroit's great.
And all these other teams feel like they're bubble teams.
You want to step up?
Challenge one of the big dogs.
Let's see it.
So, Rhett, I know you do get drunk and pass out.
You might miss some good football if you do this year.
Sacrifice is in life, Dean.
You have to make them.
It's true.
Now, this is not drinking or he is definitely passing on this.
This might be a challenge today.
I'm curious to see what.

Just one sec. Oh my God. Let's start in Orlando, Dane, where the North, the Raptor
will be taking on the magic.
This is an in-season tournament game,
which means we'll have the funky courts on the floor.
And you're thinking,
I don't know how much a basketball guy?
I want hockey.
How would you get you off your ass
and go to the Saddle Dome and watch the Ranglers
and the Tussons?
The roadrunners.
Or you can watch on hl.com,
hl.tv.
Now, the reason I said it was going to be challenging
is the NHL is dark tonight.
Zero games.
Good work, everyone.
And you know what?
In my folder there, Jackie Boy, there was, of course, Jeff Merrick, highly intelligent.
No NHL games tonight here is why there's only three teams slash buildings available to host games tonight.
Vancouver, Calgary, and Arizona.
Canadian teams get sent to the U.S. this week for Thanksgiving Eve slash Black Friday since home games are requested by American teams, which makes sense.
So all the Canadian teams are out of the country.
So they can't host games.
But if you wanted a game, you can make a game.
You could, yeah, well, unless, as he says, there is no rink availability.
Well, I see three right there.
So you could do Vancouver Calgary tonight.
But I get it.
Like, it's, this is a big time for the U.S. markets to make money.
It's a big holiday.
More people travel for Thanksgiving than do for Christmas in the States.
Sure.
I just think you could easily have one game tonight.
Why would you want those games on TV anyway?
Why are you going to be that way?
It's just so great.
It doesn't make mistakes.
Nothing to see here.
25% off your first order, zero delivery fees.
Make sure that order is over 15.
Of course it's going to be,
but make sure it's over 15 bucks
and you will trigger the deal.
On for a limited time,
Nation 25 is the promo code Nation 2.5.
Dash that for the win with DoorDash.
Dash that.
I'm looking at the,
because I have a different window than you have on your screen.
I see that, Rhett, it says devices not connected.
Yeah.
Now, is that his earlight or is that one of the hook with the camera on it?
Yeah, I'm not sure.
This device isn't connected.
Not connected anyway.
Just one last thing before we head out.
It is that Barnburner is sponsored by BetterHelp.
It's American Thanksgiving.
Christmas is coming.
The weather is turning.
It can be one of those things.
I know for me, it just feels like sometimes like,
ooh, everything's just kind of dark and cold and, ooh,
when you hear dog days, the dark days, you can, there's ways to get around it.
And if you're struggling, therapy is, is becoming more of a commonplace.
And the thing about BetterHelp is that it's online.
I think as a guy, if I can find an excuse to kind of get out of things, I'll do it.
Sorry, I can't make my therapy appointment today.
Sorry, I can't do this.
With Better Help, it's online.
it's convenient, it's suited to your schedule,
it's more conducive to you actually getting the therapy that you need.
And that's just one part of why I Better Help is so great.
You fill out a brief questionnaire if you're thinking about therapy.
They take the answers, they match you with a licensed therapist.
You can switch therapists at any time if the fit isn't right because you need that fit to be a good one.
You need to connect in order to get to where you want to be.
Now you can switch, no additional charge.
at any time. And then you start to work through some things. You just kind of talk some things out.
What are some of the challenges? How do we get there? Is there a certain time? You start working
towards this. And then you build those strategies, solutions, coping skills to help you feel better,
to be better, to become the best version of yourself. Make your brain your friend with BetterHelp.

That is going to do it.
I see our long-armed friend is gone.
Yeah.
He's got a busy week.
Like he said, he's got nothing to do.
He can show up whenever he wants.
He can sit where he wants.
He can drink as much as he wants.
He can eat as much as he wants.
He can sleep as much as he wants.
And forget his kid's hockey gear.
That too, if he wants.
Special.
Godspeed.
He is going to be back next week.
Again, we mentioned it earlier.
This is, we're very excited about it.
We kind of announced it this morning.
There it is.
The brand new project, the brand new one that we have gotten together with origin,
malting and brewing in Strathmore, the Barnburner Blonde.
You're going to be able to try this, to buy this, to enjoy this very soon.
They were canning it yesterday.
I went out to Strathmore to be part of it.
the ceremony.
It was very emotional.
It was very emotional.
I wept.
I honestly, when we started showing that video, I started tearing up a little.
Like, we've got to do some cool things with this job, but having our own beer, I can't wait
to taste it.
I'm kind of jealous.
I know.
Tasted before I did.
I'm very excited that I got to taste it before you.
I know.
We can all taste it together on Tuesday, friends.
Again, email them info at originbrewing.com.
Let them know you're coming to the Tuesday night.
launch party for the Bar and Burner Blonde and we'll see you there.
Can you throw that just the
graphic up one more time? Because yes, we canned it yesterday.
It's sitting there. It's getting chilled. It's going to be ready.
Barn Burner Blonde, our new beer in conjunction with
origin, malting and brewing out in Strathmore.
We're going to have the official launch party next week.
November 28th, Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Out at the tap room. 60 spruce drive
is where it is. It's easy to find.
Boomer, Pinder, Warner.
be there. We'll get on the mic. We're going to tell some
stories. We're going to be shooting the shit. Meet
the Origin Brewmasters, brewery tours.
Go see how it's made, where it's made, some
prizes. Try it. Buy it. Love it.
Blonds have more fun. No doubt about it.
There's John, can we buy that beer in Y, Y, Y, C?
You will be able to buy that beer
in Y, literally just got canned yesterday with
D. Yeah. And this is your first chance right here.
And there's going to be more details on that, because
Origin, they're going the extra
a mile to make sure you can get this thing in your hands and that you can try it in
Calgary.
The other thing you can do is go to your, go to your liquor store.
Hey, origin beer.
You got origin beer?
Tell them to get it in.
Yeah.
They'll get it there.
They'll load up the truck and they'll drop it off in, in Calgary.
And it's, and it goes beyond our, obviously our barn burger blonde.
You can get the, the homegrown logger.
They have the full line of delicious beers that you can get.
But yes, you will be able to.
get it in Y, Y, Y, C. We're going to be doing all kinds of stuff, but we're pumped. It's a big step.
They did all the work. They did. Again, better people than us. It's a common theme. And John's also in
the comments asking about hoodies, fellas. We are almost at the very end of this run with hoodies.
There's nothing on the website. I will promise you this. Anything we have left, we will bring
to Strathmore with us. And there will be another run of Barnburner hoodies because we got a lot of
people to want them, but we can't put them up. There's like four to six of them, Jack? How many? You count it the
other day? Like we're, yeah, there's like seven left. So seven left. So we'll be
bring seven to Strathmore for you next week.
And I don't want to tease you, but that's where they'll go because we know we'll sell them all there.
And then we'll start a new run.
Feels a little chanky, but, you know, get your huddies.
And what we have been working on some other things too.
I would probably safe to say in the new year, we'll probably launch some, some unique new stuff on.
And John, don't, don't apologize.
We love that you love the show and that you're supporting us.
Thank you, buddy.
