Ola, Dusters.
It's game day. Get your goddamn helmet's on.
Who are playing the wild?
Wild on a Thursday.
These guys are on a roll.
Shout out the Oilers.
Now there's some crazy talk come on out of Edmonton
that maybe they've ruined a Chappelle show.
We're going to have to get to.
We're going to dig into that.
We're going to dig into that today.
Anyway, our wonderful show on a Thursday brought you by,
by Bet365, game props, player props, totals, and the money line.
whatever your bet is.
It's never ordinary at Bet365.
Download the app and get in the game.
Must be 90 years or order.
And there we have the Super Chats.
We're raising money for the youth centers of Calgary.
Send us a little text, a little message, a little recipe,
drink, food, whatever it might be.
We love Christmas, BCE.
We'll shuffle off that money to the youth centers of Calgary.
They'll do real good things.
That's a great thing.
Probably very useful.
at this time of year.
There's a lot of given going on.
Do our part.
Or you'll do your part.
Yeah, we'll do it for you.
Good start, bye.
Shuffle it over.
Here in the McLeodlaw LLP Studios,
a little chilly today, which is all right.
I made chili.
It was spoke.
McLeodlaw LLP,
proud of their Calgary roots.
They are here for you.
It is what's nice about it.
It's normal,
ordinary, good Calgary people that happen to be the best at what they do.
Peter Klein, one of the nicest guys in the world.
And you know what it is?
Grandpa, too.
He's a stone cold.
Like he's a assassin when it comes to the business.
Don't take his good nature and kindness.
Don't be fooled into thinking, well, he's probably not a, he's not probably not a killer when it comes down.
The door's close.
Look out.
Shaking in their boots if you got those two cats.
Shane King, litigator in the.
year. You don't get it to be a litigator of the year by being a nice guy. You got a tattooed
right. Lottie. Lottie. You got neck tattoo. Lottie. That's right. Right under the collar.
That is correct. We're into it. Thank you, McLeod Law. Thank you. Bet365. And thank you,
everybody who's on board. I was looking at the chat. People were remarking somebody had done
X or whatever. It's like, oh, it's boom, we're going to be all wound up about the rink size
and thing again. Like, I think it was kind of taken.
taken the wrong way.
I believe it was as well.
One person took it the wrong way. I saw that on Twitter.
Everyone else understood that it was you making fun of me.
It was not taking runs at super chatters.
Hello?
Yeah, so very disrespectful
that somebody would
that you would do that to people after they
it's like, well, it's not exactly
like, hey boomer, did you hear the Olympics
is going to have a smaller ring.
Is boomer going to have another meltdown
over the super chat today?
relax buddy it's not that deep and not everyone has kept up i don't give a fuck about the
olympics don't like for the for for for just for so we're clear what i saw yes clarity
don't give a fuck about it what was happening was i was it just struck me as funny the pinner
was like oh who's this guy is oh god get back in the news cycle and i that he was agitated by the
fact that somebody posted this Pete DeBoer's story.
So that's what I was, uh, was getting at.
That's all that was.
Because again, DGAF about rink sizes to be, to be clear.
It's such a non-issue, man.
Yeah.
That's why I was like, why is this in the news cycle?
It's not new and it doesn't matter.
It's still.
Right.
Whereas I just found it funny that that would bother you.
What is?
So that's, that's, so there it is.
See, that's, let's follow up.
on this because there's F all to talk about.
Oh, it's not true.
It's game day. You said to get helmets on.
Yeah. And then their helmets on and then carry
on with something else. We don't care about the Olympics.
Let's not spend 10 minutes on the Olympics. We'll care about the Olympics.
I wasn't going to ask you about the Olympics.
I want to know, like, in the news cycle,
what is relevant?
No, seriously.
I remember why? Because if you look at the news cycle,
all for your algorithm, aliens and pseudoscience.
Yes. I get that the
small rink and Pete Dibor
take and the fact that he wasn't up to date is irrelevant.
But I have a hard time finding something that maybe is relevant.
Sports is not hitting you these days.
That's what I'm noticing.
Yeah.
We got a Thursday night of tonight that's going to be a gem.
The NFL will save us like it always does.
I really believe that.
It should be a banger for a game.
It should be a great game.
Like two teams that we thought were at total opposite end of the spectrum.
Detroit was 14, 15 wins last year.
God, they were good.
they're a lock for the playoffs Dallas is in shambles
owners a moron all of a sudden they look pretty
you know organized for a team that was
offensively gifted right yeah well and even the defense is better
they had Quinn and Williams they after training Mike
Parsons like their defense is much better now than it was for the first two months
Jerry got them boys rolling
Derek got the boys rolling hey what are they a game over 500
wagon a boy chair and I uh this and it would be a
crushing defeat
if the Lions lose this game.
For both, it totally impedes their ability to get to the playoffs in a big way.
Certainly for both, but I think that coming into the season,
you had the Lions penciled as this got as good,
maybe good a chance as any.
Yes.
Yeah, like we just said, they had 15 wins last year.
Like, they're a favorite in the NFC.
So here for if the Cowboys move to seven wins to be, I mean,
so you can see the bottom numbers there.
If the Cowboys lose, their playoff probably.
drops below 10% see ya.
If the lions lose, oh my God, 20%.
Like that's one in five chance of getting in.
Because they got to chase down like an eight-win San Francisco club.
Like there isn't really a weak wild card in the NFC right now.
Packers look solid.
Seahawks look really good.
Niners have taken care of business despite injuries with a really soft schedule.
And you look at their probability of getting in the playoffs, 92, 89, 92.
So the Packers and Bears play this week.
The Bears can jump from first to seventh with the loss.
Oh, that would be false.
Stead, you know?
Yeah, the Bears.
That's a huge game.
That is huge.
And, yeah, the Packers have a higher percentage.
I just say it that way, though, Jack.
Like, oh, you know.
Just stakes are high.
Stakes are high.
Not going to be sucked in by your negative, negative outlook on foot.
These are the current standings as well.
I did.
Double check.
Jack and I made this today.
We made this because it was hard to find what we were looking for yesterday.
Yeah.
think it shouldn't be that hard, right?
No. Just get the top seeds in the left,
wildcards on the right, and then we'll show the in the hunt after.
How'd you do it, Jack?
What's the, uh, glue, glue, yeah.
Yeah, glue stick.
Delicious, some glue, scissors glue.
Nice.
Some high ladders.
Yeah. Real nice. So yeah, that's tonight.
Uh, I feel some of what Rett's feeling, though.
And I don't know if it's necessarily all flames related.
Maybe if the flames were the avalanche and they were steam rolling teams,
maybe just no maybe we were watching two superstars in the prime we'd be absolutely wound up um
but i think there was even going back to last year there was a malaise that we kind of had for the
four nations and then it hit and we were all very excited and i think that there are some people they'll
probably every time they get together for wings on a tuesday or whatever says who do you got
in the canada roster like do you think celebrini's done enough now is spadar going to be there you can't
as Tom, there's probably some people that are very engaged in that.
You and I aren't.
No.
Well, here's the thing is that I'm not involved in picking that team yet.
Yet.
Yet.
We're in negotiations.
Which is weird being a former Olympian.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So until I am, they're going, one day they're going to come out and they're going to say,
here's the team.
And then that's it.
Yeah, 2030.
Yeah.
It will be on the selection.
It almost feels like somewhat of a waste of time to debate it.
It's a thing that a lot of sportsy shows would do,
and you could do that segment every week.
But that's not really who we are.
I can do it, but I don't think it's good for our viewers.
Yeah, if you want to put up 15 forwards,
and how many D do they do?
They'll take eight.
Okay, so 10D, four goalies.
Yeah, and then we could argue the bubble.
It's kind of like going.
Yeah, and honestly, if it's Anthony Sorrelli or Tom Wilson or Hagel or Sam Bennett,
like, they're all really good players, Cooper.
And Hagel's probably better than the other guys.
Bennett's having an off year.
He might not make this team.
But again, we don't care.
Yeah, so on the Collins.
We'd rather have them make the team and then critique them for the comments and suggestions.
We didn't make it all over them after this.
You'd ask us.
Yeah, I don't want to be on the record.
I would have taken celebrity.
I would have taken celebrity on the record is choosing a team that's terrible.
Yeah.
You'll be on the record for a winner in 2030.
You're a tape Matthew Schaefer.
Call me.
Call me.
But listen, fellas.
Fellas.
It's a flames game day.
They haven't been home for a while.
They've not been.
Get down there, double popcorn or double butter on the corn.
Did you do it the other night?
My brother did, yeah.
I did.
I showed the kid.
I said, now you can go to the other spots here,
and you can get popcorn there for sure.
But if you go to hot butter,
that's where you get.
I mean, they're putting that out with the ladle.
There's tricks of the trade being around the dome.
I got a nice little washroom hack.
I can't tell anyone or that'll get busy.
That's a key one at the dome, depending where you're seated.
There's all kinds of little moves.
Yeah. Do you know where the butter's at?
I'm going on Monday.
Yeah.
I'll be at the dome on Monday.
Not until the night.
Can't go down.
Sabres.
Oh, yeah, good.
Well, let's do this.
Let's talk about, let's kind of walk through this game.
All right.
And we'll see if maybe something to kind of sparks.
Some grabs you?
Yeah.
The flames?
9, 15, and 4.
That's the same percentage, 915?
No, that's the record.
Sounds like Gustafsons.
Nine wins against the Wilde,
who are 15, 7, and 5.
They're a very good team and are third in their division.
On a heater.
Because they play in Colorado and Dallas's division.
Colorado, 44 points.
And you know how we were saying, like,
it's their league and they're just running away with it?
Yeah.
Dallas is only three points back.
Yeah.
So it's those two, and then the Wild have 35.
enjoy third place.
They'd be first in the Pacific.
They're a very good team.
They have points in 12 straight games.
11-0-1-1.
They lost 3-2 at a shootout against Buffalo on Saturday.
That ended a seven-game win streak.
They'd be Colorado in there in a shootout or in overtime, too.
Must have been looking past that one.
One reg loss in their last 15.
So yeah, it was, and it wasn't even a terrible start, but it was a little bit,
you know, kind of, I don't like your approach to the booting it around, but they have been
smoking the last since like November 1st kind of thing.
Yeah, end of October, they were not in a good spot.
Yeah, they were terrible.
I was like, they got to shut out their first game and you're like, okay, they're going to be
good.
And then it was like, ooh, they're having a tough time here.
Is this the team that's going to slip on the banana peel?
No, but here's not.
they don't they don't give you much they've shut out their opponent in three of their last six
shutouts and in five of their last 11
to not what and and you would think well for the flames they have a hard time scoring right
so now this is a team that pitches a lot of shutouts leads a league uh the flames lost two
nothing already to the wild this year they were one of the shutouts okay in uh st paul
November 9th.
That was Yesper Walsstead,
who's become a story, rep.
Sure has.
He's become a story.
He's a 23-year-old goaltender.
He's played 15 career games,
has shutouts in five of them.
Keep that up, kid.
Hall of Fame.
Those are Hashik-esque kind of...
That's beyond numbers, yeah.
Only similar issue with him,
only Frank Brimsock took fewer games
to hit five career shoutouts.
zero the Hall of Famer. That's right. I think he's American.
His last six starts. It's a weird
stat. He's 7 and 0 in his last six starts.
A 0.98
save percentage and a
9.0, in a goals against,
and a 971 save percentage.
10. 9.
So see the
shutouts in four of his last six.
Goal heater. Yeah, it's hard to say he had the
shutout in Edmonton, which was their last game.
Custom. Good too. He's
also have been very good.
You go either way tonight.
They have two very good goalies.
Go to Vancouver next, I think.
I don't like.
They haven't allowed a power play goal against in seven straight.
Ooh, that's tiny.
So they're just, they're feeling it, eh?
1-2-2, don't give up any chances.
That's the thing, because that is the flip side.
They don't score, they're not a juggernaut,
even though it's not the wild of old.
They're seventh and goals against 23rd
goals four. So it's shaping up to be a low scoring event tonight, perhaps. I've already hammered
the ender. Then you'll see it later in our pet 365 bets. They're very good. They're playing very
well. And Red always tells us the first game back, I would hate to do this, but I really would love to
ask AI, be like, what are teams home records first game back from a long road trip compared to
their season points percentage? Is it a huge gap? Is it like a five game? Is this mythology or is this
real. But we've seen it so many times where a team
comes back, especially this time of year. You want to talk distractions off the ice?
It's snowing. It's Christmas. If you've got kids in a family, it has not been
resting on the couch the last 36 hours. I was so grateful, too, that they got to
stay over that extra night in Nashville and get home tomorrow yesterday afternoon.
Yeah, been busy. Wild were here before they were.
Yeah. Kind of a thing. So you barely got, you got to get home, have supper,
put the kids to bed. Yeah. Go to bed yourself.
No practice after the road trip, right into game-based skate today.
I don't like your approach, Dean.
That's a lot of bragging.
Well, we know a lot.
It's not bragging.
It's a lot of bragging up the other teams.
We're just learning about the opponent tonight.
Yeah, it's doing our homework.
We know where, where's the flames, what are they building?
They're one, two, and one in their last four.
Last in points and points percentage.
Well, yeah, but that's the negative.
What's the where, where?
I'll give you the positive spin.
They are pretty.
respectable team in November.
And they're still lost in the league.
They were hovering around 500.
They're working harder.
They look more organized.
They're not allowing as many breakaways
in two-on-ones as we saw on it until around.
They're still lost.
They're working harder.
They look way better and they're dead last.
Yeah.
And that's great.
That's exactly what most of this fan base is clamoring for.
Stop pretending that you can be eighth in the west
and look in the mirror.
It's the Jay Feaster intellectual honesty thing.
You have a huge opportunity this year to look in the mirror and say, even when we're playing well, we're not even close to good enough.
Let's make sure we don't fumble the bag on a lot of assets we could turn into futures.
You know what it's going to be?
And I've seen already, and it's probably just people in.
I think it's it.
But you start to read into body language in that.
Because I saw some people say, oh, you look at Naz.
Cadre wants out.
He's tired of this shit.
Or it's the last game of the road trip.
Yeah, they're fucking gas.
Yeah, or he's exhausted.
You know, and he got tangled up with Marsha, so, and he's got a,
my meat doesn't feel rot, right?
So it's, I don't know, it's not to say, who knows?
Nossum knows.
We don't know.
But I think that now it's going to be, all right, let's really see what we're seeing here.
We're into December.
What's, who wants out?
Who wants to be a part?
I'm sick of trying to ask him what he wants anyway.
He keeps not answering us.
If I'm the GM and owner of the team, sorry.
We're in last.
You've been handsomely rewarded for your effort, and thank you for playing so well.
Get the F out of here.
Yeah, and I think, you know, this is our players of agents.
I think there's probably been some things floated by now.
Yeah, I don't need to.
He wants to win another cup.
I don't think that's a crazy assertion.
He's a competitor.
He's not here collecting a check in his retirement home when he's going to live here.
That's what I was going to say.
If he's only, if he likes it here and then he's going to retire, all the more reason you don't want him.
Yeah.
All the more that's just telling me again,
these guys don't want to win fucking Stanley Cups.
They just want to play.
I think he does.
Sorry for swearing.
Maybe the team wants to be polite and not have the awkward conversation,
and maybe they're waiting for Nazim to make it easy for them.
He'll come to us.
It's like when you know the relationship's not going to work,
but you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
So you just kind of wait for them to make the call that everyone knows is going to happen.
I, it's so I'm dating in your 20s.
I mean, for me and you,
pinder.
Because we didn't play.
But I just,
I have to,
I'm fascinated by what it must be like
to be inside the room.
Because as we sit here,
what we talk about is not headline news.
It's not as though
Codry or Anderson are sitting in there.
You know,
I was listening to this podcast and the fat guy in the end
was saying that my contract's up at the end of year.
And that I may be thinking of my next contract
and where else I might want to.
play. I hadn't really given much thought, but
the old tubby got me
you got my mind
to race in there.
You're in the room for game one
loss.
Who's?
They're every day of the
around these guys all the
game one win, but yes.
Like good Lord. Yeah,
it should have been loss again. It was a
definitely gift from Skinner.
Well, maybe we'll have a conversation with the
I can't imagine if I was played that I wouldn't
be in contact with my
agent, right? Of course, you've talked about exactly what the hell.
Your family, you know what teams are interested in you.
I think part of the makeup of a pro athlete is to defy odds because you just shouldn't
ever actually think you're going to become a professional athlete. It's just so improbable
and unlikely and statistically abnormal. And so when you tell them they're out of it at the end
of October, they're like, I was told I wouldn't even make a junior team. You're telling me we're
out. Like I've seen heaters, like the belief in their own skill set has to be incredibly
higher. You don't get this far in life for most of these guys, this is my opinion. And so I think all these
things will happen. But when we use logic to say you're out of it, you're not going to make the playoffs,
they're not there yet. They're ready to defy odds because that's what they've done their whole lives.
I truly believe that's when they come in and talk about 97 points and the sports books have them
in the low 80s or high 70s, like they're like, yeah, well, who cares? They kind of lost year.
We had 96. Like, now we're adding this preck kid and Wolf's going to be a full time.
Like, they're skewed to believe what they probably shouldn't if they just looked at logic.
You know what I mean?
I guess so.
Yeah, it's however you're wired.
I don't think they sit around.
Mulling over, crunching the numbers?
No.
Yeah.
They show.
I know this.
You have to be selfish when you're playing because you have to only focus on yourself and being prepared to play the next game.
That's people like, oh, he doesn't.
No, yeah, that's right.
I have to eat and drink and sleep.
and do only the things that can help me
because I'm only going to be able to do this for so long
and if I slip up on it,
it costs everything.
Yeah, the margins are so slow.
And now these guys are established,
but they're no,
Anderson has already made plans prior to seeing
how this team did this year.
Now, could those plans they have changed
if they're sitting in first and dominating?
Absolutely.
But he met with his agent over the summer
and knows exactly what the F is going on,
who's available,
where he wants to go.
He's already, and to the point where it's like,
I've dealt with this, he isn't thinking about it.
He's told the agent in the summer, this is.
I'm happy to come back.
We'll address this later.
Well, or the agent has said to him,
these will be the teams that would be interested.
Or these are the teams I go to if they wanted to trade me.
He's not sitting there on a date of phoning his agent after morning skate,
go, okay, what about today?
What's happening?
And I didn't you news today?
No, it's all laid out.
When they decide to turn the page as far as the flames making a trade or somebody paying the price to get them, then it'll happen.
Yeah.
It's like us debating who's going to be on Team Canada.
Well, there's a list of, there's only little things that are going to change.
Yeah, I guess, and we don't need to get bogged in it.
It's just, it kind of goes back to the Markstrom thing from a couple of years.
It's like, do you, are there no conversations?
It's just, it's, everything's completely.
no one has these conversations ever about what this team is,
what is the team going to be like,
am I possibly going to be trained?
Well, they haven't approached them until they approach anybody.
I guess I just don't understand or respect.
They signed all those four guys in the off season,
the coaches of management that don't believe everything you hear either, right?
Like when we're told, oh, yeah, they've never bullshit.
Oh, you know, Monday said something really interesting.
He said, don't listen to the noise.
They're absolutely rebuilding.
And that's as plugged in as a guy is that isn't a GM in the league.
And if you look at what they've done since the Lindholm deal on like the last day of January, two years ago,
all they've done is liquidate older assets, lock up younger guys, acquire picks.
Like they are rebuilding.
They just absolutely don't want that messaging out there for whatever reason.
Yeah, if you only pay attention to the action, they're rebuilding.
They're a team that's.
But I think it's childish that they can't talk the way they need to talk to us as humans.
To me, that's just, and that's just an opinion where you say whatever.
Some markets that probably flies, you don't get challenged, but this is a hockey market.
It's the biggest thing in town.
People know this sport well.
It comes across as tone deaf and talking down to your fan base.
But when you own the team, you get to run it the way you want.
If that's messaging you want, pick it.
If you want to, you know, bring insert to Solay and promote intermissions, you can do that too.
It's your team.
Do what the hell you want.
Talk about the team winning, losing, rebuilding, not.
Strip it down and get assets and rebuilders.
You better, yeah.
If you're caught holding the Nazan bag in two years and he's not at the top two center anymore,
like you've missed a massive opportunity, haven't you?
That's the issue that I think is that, you know, you can, oh, we need them to.
There is reasoning behind it.
We looked at Edmonton, and Hull and Eberley and there was no leadership there.
Last year, Badard, now I don't know who they brought in this year that's made Badard fine.
Last year, oh, well, they didn't surround them and I said it too.
But they, the veterans is not the skill last year.
Like they had the felinos and other states.
I'm just saying that, okay, you can make the argument you need professionals.
They still have them if you're just sure.
Yeah, to show young guys the ropes a little bit to a certain extent.
And if you're, hopefully they have, you have to map it out so that some of these assets that you're going to try and get as in high end skill players come together at the same time.
So since having Kipper and then a decade later, Iggy, and a decade later, right?
Like you got to get them kind of blending together at the same time.
Yeah, when you look at Anaheim, it's like they sprinkled in enough veterans where they trust the leadership, the direction of the team,
but all their good young players are arriving at the same time.
It's like Jackson Lecombe is the guy in the back end.
Zell Wiggers popped this year.
obviously out front Leo Carlson, McTavish,
Cutter Goce, like that's their young core,
but they have insulated him with vets.
But the reason that argument doesn't make sense
for the flames is like you're already married to Hebrido.
You're not going to be able to get rid of them.
So that he's part of your veteran leadership.
Backlons here for this year plus two more.
He's not going anywhere.
You got five or four years left of Weeger.
Like you don't need double ups on all these guys.
And if you, it's one of the reasons
that all problem with them extending backlins,
because you're probably going to move off of Frost
in cadre in the next two years.
Like Frost hasn't done it for me
where I'm like he's a core piece and he's a free agent
at the end of next year.
You could probably spin him out for a nice asset.
Like is he undeniable? Absolutely not.
It kind of looks like American,
or a young backland.
I mean, you can say that about anybody right now.
I'm just looking at the ages though.
That's where you can't say it about him.
You can't say that about Conner's area.
He's too young. You've got to find out what he is.
You're not saying that about Hansick and Grin.
Like they have a young group coming.
If you move Nazim and Rasmusmus,
you are not.
in a huge void of veteran leadership.
They have a lot of guys over 30.
Plenty.
That's what I think, too.
That's where it's different than the Edmonton thing.
It's not like you're putting a C on Cole Ressiony,
and he's like, who knows how to get in this rink?
We're all in the first year here.
Yeah, go draft the high-end skill.
And then if you need to make a trader,
you want to go to an agency and get the quality of humans.
They got Gullors.
They got Goulorne.
They traded for, uh,
Crider.
They went and added to the older guys.
But they're not.
They're best players.
They're the guys that set the tone.
And you still have those guys here.
If you trade cadre in Rasmus and Coleman.
A recent draft pick,
Zev Boyum, has having a heck of a rookie season.
Don't talk about it.
Played well last spring too.
Yeah.
12 points in 27 games.
Eight points coming on the power play.
I didn't go as deep as to see how his minutes are being split.
Like, is it?
He's on the third pair with.
Bogosian right now, but he's played higher up than that at times.
Is he getting a sprinkle, but then they're using him on the power play,
and maybe that's what you do when you have a young player coming in.
And I know for Flames fans, it's, you'd love to see Perak and Boyam play tonight,
three picks between where they were selected, but not the case.
That defense class is interesting, because you had the huge Russian that went to Jersey at like 11.
No, that's.
The big dilute, who's like 6, 7, okay?
And then you have Sam Dickinson, who slides way later than you thought.
He goes to San Jose with their second first rounders.
Yakum Chuck was a guy that you do some teams really liked.
He goes to Ottawa there.
And then Minnesota getting William where they did is an absolute master class.
They've done that with a lot of draft.
Rossi fellow them.
I think Matt Boldie is a guy that, you know, in hindsight,
that you'd redraft a lot higher.
They've done very well in the draft.
That's not worth it.
I wanted to pull up all those defense.
Yeah, it was Lev Shunoff at two.
Yakumtuk at 7,
Perak at 9, Dickinson 11,
Boyum 12.
And who's the big Russian jersey?
No, wrong graphclayev?
Yeah, Anton Sileov.
He's huge.
So, yeah, there's...
But there was a thought you might have like 5D in the top 7.
It didn't play out that way at all.
Seneca goes early to Anaheim,
and it was a forward run you didn't expect.
You knew Teage was going to go over.
early, there's so much helium on him that year.
He's going to be late first round, mid first round.
Maybe he's a total of 10.
And then he goes, what, seven or eight to Utah?
Like, whew.
Yeah.
And then Burt, Katten goes to Seattle.
It was a lot more forward.
Caden Lindstrom was in there.
Yeah, hurt bag, but good.
Yeah.
Is Perrecker hurt bag or is he just kind of find it his way?
I don't think he's a hurt bag.
I mean, if, like, Conner's area has been hurt almost every year since his draft year.
Ditto for Hansick.
Perrek, I think this is pretty much.
But you've kind of labeled in a way,
Zeri is a hurt back.
Well, because for the last five years or five of the last six,
he's been hurt.
That's not at all, correct.
But he's played two full seasons in the, you know.
All right.
If he gets hurt for the next five years, yeah.
Go overbue or Boilium.
Yeah.
And it's too early to grade.
Yep.
And it's, they're very different players.
Like, if you look at the development of offensive defense,
like your Carlson's and Bouchard's.
It takes them a lot longer to settle in than the 200-foot guys because,
like both ends of the rink defensemen,
because I think coaches just don't want to see the errors.
And statistically, he's been fine.
Like when he's on the ice,
they would shoot no chance the opponent.
But there's still the concern of that big Bouchard-esque highlight real defensive mistake.
They have Brock Faber.
Great trade.
On the back end, who is a member of the swap?
Yeah.
We were, we've been talking about the minutes that Rasmus is putting in and Uyghur.
Rasmus is averaging 2414, Brock Faber 2417 a night.
He was a second round pick of the L.A. Kings, and he got shipped in the, uh,
Fiala, Kevin Fiala trade.
Mid-sensor both sides.
Fiala was good.
Still a good player, still a good player.
But when you, uh, that was rated in their 15 million a year for Souter and Parise,
a cap pinch and they liked Fiala,
couldn't afford to pay him.
They turned him into favor.
And then by the time he's at an entry level,
you've got that open cap space.
That's a really smart move.
Traded from L.A.
with a first for Kevin Fiala.
So you get a first and.
Dacent.
Yeah.
That then works out.
I mean, guy goes to the University of Minnesota.
Starts playing for the Minnesota Wild.
It's there.
Life is good.
It's nice.
Happy for him.
One of your favorite guys,
Jacob Middleton.
on this blue line. Great mustache.
Great stash. Is he playing? Is he still heard?
He's in their lineup, I believe.
Let's go. He and Spurgeon playing together. Jared Spurgeon's had one of the more underrated careers
in the last 15 years. Yeah.
Big minutes. Always there.
Captain?
I think so. He is.
And not big, but plays not bigger than he is.
36 years old.
You know who another guy were really getting sportsy now. See? All of a sudden.
I remember when they signed him, it was.
like Matt Sukarello doesn't seem like a Minnesota wild kind of player to me.
And he's gone there.
He's been very good.
He hits 700 points on Saturday.
Third undrafted player in the last 30 years to hit 700 points.
I would not have, no, that's.
Wayne would be in there.
Any idea, the other two?
I'm saying Wayne because he's going to be 30 years.
Little later than that.
No.
Undrafted.
Marty, say, Louis.
Yeah, of course.
Artemy Panarin
And Aaron undrafted as well
Yeah
If we'd thought about it
Those are good answers
Yeah
I wouldn't have thought of that
I could have spent days and days
You got more
hits to the head than we had though
There's a lot of people
In 30 years
That's played to know
Prolific undrafted scores
Yeah
Geo wouldn't be far off
But deemance
The points wouldn't be there
Do you know
Vladimir Tarasenko plays
For the Minnesota wild
Yeah
I did not know
33 now I think
There you go
Get to know your Minnesota wild.
You're real good.
Third line winner these days.
I think when you watch this team,
you'll be actually going home.
They're not boring.
Or is it going to be the sharks' treatment
that we, after we glossed them, glazed them?
I don't think so,
because I think the sharks are still young
and that, I would guess if you asked
to watch many sharks games,
they were so disinterested.
I would have a hard time believing
that they've played a worse.
Or worse hockey game this season.
Like that was shamefully bad.
That might have been the first time and the last time all year that they came into a game thinking,
ah, we got these guys.
They were no good.
Like they didn't leave their own zone.
It was, no.
And I think the wilds are a little more veteran, a little more poised and a little, you know, I can't expect it.
Are you excited to see the highest paid player in hockey?
It doesn't.
I guess it's next year, but you know what I think that if you follow them and watch them,
you probably would be excited.
don't, but Caprizo's awesome.
17 goals,
31 points and 27
games.
Star.
It's going to be in that heart chat every year.
Star player.
It's good to have those.
Game breakers, Steve.
What do you find guys like that, me?
Game break.
It's fantasy hockey. How do we get that?
What is the Caprizov tag going to be again?
17.
And a half.
Boy, that's a 15 and a half.
Conner's probably a 20.
he's not unreasonable.
That's the fact salary.
12 and a half.
Oh, you dummy.
So all the others can get overpaid.
Goddard.
I'm taking a discount to play with Darnell,
not the other way.
That seems backwards.
Fifth round pick in 2015.
He came over late too, didn't he?
Yeah.
Played in the K for a few years.
That's probably one of those things where,
well, at the time, weird,
there's no telling if he was coming over or whatever.
All right.
Not big, but he's thick, he's sturdy,
but you'd be, geez,
is he big enough for the NHL?
Not an issue.
You could take it.
Why do you think that's a chance in the fourth round for one of those other teams?
It's like, well, this guy's real good.
That was the Goddrault story.
Why do you think that, though?
Like, where have you seen guys?
Too small?
Yeah.
Matthew Phillips?
I mean, just off the other.
Yeah, but he was not good enough to, he wasn't producing.
He was.
He was like leading the H.L.
And it doesn't mean fuck all.
At his age, that projects well, most guys that lead the H.L.
You realize you sound like an idiot when you say things like this, right?
Like everyone out there is going, oh, he projected.
well, but he wasn't good enough in the
HL, but he wasn't good enough to play in the
NHL. So you're telling me Matt Phillips
is not playing in the NHL
because he's too small. Yes.
Or he's not good enough.
Oh, both. Yeah. If he was like more of a
Godreau player where it's
deception, then he could survive at that size.
So if he was a better player, he would be
playing in the NHL. If he was a better
player, he'd be playing in the NHL.
So if he got called up to the NHL,
was playing in the NHL and he was a point of game,
would they have banished him?
No, of course not.
But everyone in the HL,
if they're a better player,
they've got a real good shout of you.
That's the point.
No one in the NHL,
I don't give a F,
what GM you talk to is going to say,
I don't want that kid that's good enough
and putting up a bunch of points.
He's too small.
I don't like walking around the dressing room.
Like it's,
it doesn't exist anymore.
If you're too small and you can't contribute
and keep up, yes, we don't need you.
But it's not the 90s.
No, but when you're drafting a 17-year,
you don't know if he's,
that for sure he's going to skate well enough
or, like, that's why it's riskier.
At least a big guy, like, well, maybe he can play fourth line.
If he's putting up...
I don't know what point you're making.
The point is there's still a bias against size in the draft,
and you can see it.
Nerds find it all the time, but...
What's it equate to?
What is what equate to?
Well, you're saying that these guys are being ostracized
because they're too small.
I'm saying that size doesn't matter if you're good enough.
Of course, yeah.
We'd all agree on that.
If you're good enough playing the NHL,
clearly size isn't holding you back.
Okay, so it's not the size.
It's the ability,
like it's a complete package, right?
Like, because you could be six,
who's that big tall prick that's playing in the OHL today,
seven footer?
Oh, that's a huge kid.
Like, if he's not good enough, he's not playing.
Keegan Kanzig.
He's doing training.
down in a fireman here.
Oh, Cokes.
Like, kids were going to go down there yesterday.
Has he heard the things that you've said to him over the years?
Wasn't him.
It was people that drafted.
He'd bite you right in the nose.
Lovely human.
It was never going to be in that job.
Punch you.
All I'm saying, folks, is that it's the combination of everything.
It's not, oh, you're small, so you're gone.
Yeah, it's part of the form of sure.
Good enough to play in the NHL and contribute.
Like, the point I'm trying to make is like, when you looked at Godro in the
USHL in his draft year, it'd be like, and you just looked at the points.
You're like, well, this guy is scoring.
at a rate at his age that he's going to be in NHL.
And if there's the same guy put up the same points at 6-2,
there's like, well, we don't have to worry about him
maybe the physicality being too much room against men.
And the same could be said for Dustin Wolfe, different position.
I get it in Spencer Knight.
Almost the same stats the whole way, same draft year.
One guy goes top 15, the other guy goes around 7.
Like, size is still a thing.
It's not what you're positioning for, though.
Like, I get it, petitioning, not position,
petitioning for.
If you're a 6-2 and you have this,
same points that you play is good or better than sure.
Yeah.
But that means he's more capable.
He's doing more.
So size it does or doesn't matter.
If it's the same numbers, same point, same league, same age,
and one guy's like it does.
That's the only point.
I don't get it.
Anyway, you all, I get annoyed with it just because you fall back to it.
It's too small.
You act like scouts nowadays.
Won't go watch a kid because he's small.
I don't think that's the truth.
Well, I totally watch.
Yeah.
I don't say they're not watching them.
What were we talking about?
Dean's on his phone.
Caprizov.
Yeah.
That's how we got out there.
Highest big player in the league next year.
And was a fourth round pick?
Fifth late.
See, that was her.
That's crazy.
It's the Kuturov same thing.
Like, God, if you just, if you made.
Well, good draw.
Because we had Monaghan.
Bennett flopped here.
And, uh, Chuckie.
And the difference maker was.
Good drill, the fourth rounder.
And all the goalies they've drafted
the last 30 years, many in the first, many in the second,
many in the third.
It's the seventh rounder that is the past by a mile.
Lerempte Rousseau might be in second place.
That's how bad they've been at drafting goalies the last 40 years.
That guy on the radio this morning was going.
Well, if they don't want to be the sabres, they should put more into their front office staff.
I don't worry about them being the savers.
I don't need.
their G.
And I'd hope, yeah, that's new the job.
That's set the bar a little higher.
Yeah.
That's his point is that, yeah.
Yeah.
Why does everyone fall back to all?
If you don't make the playoffs,
they're going to be the Buffalo.
No.
The Buffalo Sabres is the only team that's being.
Yeah.
The Buffalo City.
Didn't they get,
not fire, but basically get rid of all their scouts one year.
Yeah, they just run video.
Video scouts.
Yeah.
And which, if you're good at it, that might work.
They weren't good at it.
Yeah.
That's the whole thing where it's like,
oh, the science is this and the stats are that
and the videos this is like, well, first off,
it better be people that are good at that.
You can go hire anyone off the street and make them your data
coordinator. You might want to know if they're good.
It's kind of like drafting bigger, small. It doesn't,
you still have to be good.
You guys, you need someone that knows what they're doing.
Hey, this guy's 680s, he's put on skates for it?
No, we need to draft them. Oh, that's like
what they've been doing in Buffalo with
very important positions.
Hey, Kevin Adams was selling sweets last year.
Let's let him run the hockey team.
I don't know what he was doing.
He was on the business side.
I don't know.
He was running the junior sabers.
Has one gone very well for Kevin.
No.
It's coming around, though.
Right?
Yeah, they're 500.
It's three or four more years.
Is it Montreal?
Is that the team in your bet?
Yeah.
Yeah, Montreal.
What's the points different?
And what is the just who will finish higher in the standing?
Yes.
Yeah.
Jack owes me money and he took advantage of my bold prediction,
which is usually our most ludicrous takes of the year.
Montreal's got 31 points.
Buffalo's got 26 or five back.
The two-thirds of a season.
If it continues to trend that way,
if that gap opens and it really seems like Montreal is going to have the better.
Is there a buyout there, Jack?
Is there a cash out?
Well, your cash outs to get back to zero.
So I'll pay you 50 now and you can only be 50 bucks.
Oh, not taking that.
He needs to see this to the end.
And what's that?
Oh, that's from the Zeric.
How's that?
Zeri's an awesome player take aging for you.
I don't hate Zari.
I don't want to give him the bag.
You say you don't.
No, I want Zeri to be a great player.
He's struggling.
You hate the flames.
They should be more supportive.
Why do you hate the flames?
Why do you always on them?
Always on.
Why do you hate the Olympics?
Oh, you did lose it on the Olympics.
What's wrong with you?
Yeah.
He was losing at me.
I don't know the show.
He was losing it as his coach.
It's the new cycle.
I can't be going through my phone and have people,
somebody telling these stories.
You needed the two by four over my head.
That's what that takes.
Come on.
Hearing loss clinic locally owned and operated.
They're here to help.
It's not just about hearing loss or impairment.
It's about empowering everyone to be socially active,
more connected.
You know what it's going to be?
We're going to be getting into these very soon.
These New Year's resolutions and how are you going to be,
I'm going to be a better person.
I've got to be nicer.
I'm going to do less of this.
And I'm going to do more of that.
maybe make the hearing loss clinic part of your new year new years i keep hearing them talking
about it yeah that's apparently study show these health risks like dementia and depression and
that have been treated have been linked to untreated hearing loss the brain only can do so much
and if it's fighting to be hearing and working that and other stuff it's just going to things are
going to fall by the wayside there's serious serious side effects uh kids can suffer from it old people
can suffer from it.
It's just, oh, you're getting old, you can't hear.
It's not always a case.
Not always a case.
I mean, it can be the case, but it's not like if you're not.
Even if it is the case.
You're not in your 70s.
That's why you go there and get sorted out.
Figure it out.
This is the season of socializing.
If you're having a tough time in those noisy rooms, you know where to go.
That's right.
Although Pinder, if you're at that fancy party tonight,
Pinder's going off about full effect.
What is it, dump ins, dump ins,
dump ins per 60 or whatever that was?
I don't know if that's, is there.
Are there people that will...
Five hearing loss clinic locations in Calgary.
The University District is lovely up there.
Have you been up in the uni area?
Yeah, they've done a lot of work.
Real nice up there.
That's the new one at Chinook.
The Chinook location, it's also lovely.
Great people, the best in the business,
helping you hear better, simply their way of helping you live better.
Book an assessment today.
Maybe you're at the mall shopping anyway.
Could just zip across.
you were going to say something
well I was going to at this party
tonight
they would be flames fans
but not flames honks I would
you know what I mean like you're not
would you are you going to get into
deep deep flames takes
hot takes with people down at this party
people like to talk about the flames I'm fine with that
I think like
some people it's like oh my god
boom right I don't want to bug you do this all day
I'm not going to ask you with the flames
I'm happy to do that
No, I'm just wondering, like the crowd that's attending.
I know that you would because you'll gab about anything.
I'm saying, are there flames nerds that attend this party?
You'll be a couple, but not many.
Yeah.
But like our buddy James, for example, like, I'll talk soccer with teams because I know he's a big soccer.
Oh, and then on, because tomorrow is the World Cup stuff.
Road Cup draw.
So I'm not just blathering.
I love talking sports.
It doesn't have to be.
Flames is my point.
I'm blathering about something, any sports.
I should just go.
and video him waltzing around this party.
We need like a time cutoff though, just
talking about Cloud Law.
It's like, okay, you've made your point.
What are the bags called?
I'm a few in now.
For Chappelle where you put the camera in.
Yeah.
The little bags.
We need those at like 11, just in case.
Well, if you wanted, you could go and watch the stream
from last week, probably.
Because it took a hard, a sharp turn.
And it tells you where we're two different guys.
Pinder goes to take care of his kids and do that run around.
and then you had left to go to that event.
So Jack and I are sitting there,
and we're talking about, you know, what?
Top five drive-through burgers.
Like what's, you know,
Burger K, I haven't had Burger K.
Oh, that's sort of thing.
Pinder came in,
and the conversation changed in tone immediately.
And the chat is part of that too.
Yeah.
They're like, what's the sidebar, Stenberg?
I'm like, I want to talk about this kid.
So they got talking about the draft and draft picked.
Erhoff, McKenna.
So it's, yeah, it's,
to each,
There's going to be some people that they're going to love talking about it.
Some people aren't going to want to talk about it at all.
My favorite is the extremely casual flames fans.
Like I went to the dentist yesterday, got my teeth cleaned.
Some 50-year-old ladies just like, I'm a big flames fan.
I hear they're doing great.
I'm like, oh, boy, I don't know how to.
We had season tickets for a long time.
So you talk about the flames, huh?
I was like, yeah, I like that Gary Robert.
Yeah, he was a good player.
Yeah, he's a color.
Bad back, yeah.
So we can do two things.
Or not,
it's, hey, it's not a boomocracy.
We can do whatever the hell we want.
But I was thinking we can do two things.
We do the Pinder Report.
Or we could do today's BC.
I want to do BC.
That's top of my mind.
B.C.E.
Bambu rum.
Fudge dipped Oreos and the M6, TM 66.
Yeah, TM 66.
That's on our list of.
Permit that you need to go and cut down and get your own real Christmas tree out in
from the Canada.
Asgis area out there.
There's lots of trees out there.
Can I do it at Fish Creek?
You don't need to know.
But I got the TM.
It's got to be the Calgary region.
If you have a T.M. It's going to tell you.
Use the map.
You go on there. There's an interactive map.
Don't be doing that.
I was at a store yesterday and they said,
can you turn the dark mode off your screen? I'm like, what?
Because I had to show a receipt and email.
I'm like, what? What?
No, I can't.
What are you talking about?
So now I'm going to use an interactive map.
This is now stymely complicated.
I don't watch you calling Peter Klein saying,
hey,
I'm in the clink because I started dropping down trees in city hall.
Some Main Street and Banff just sawing one down.
She's thrown me in jail for lopping down spruce trees.
Yeah,
so we are tracking towards,
and I believe we are on pace to have the best Christmas ever.
I am.
the BCE 2025 and maybe you're a little skeptical.
You're thinking, I'm not sure this is going to be the best Christmas ever.
I'm not feeling it.
Well, I'm feeling it.
And I think by extension, we're feeling it.
I know Jack's feeling it.
I'm going to do it a little Sunday.
If you don't have the, you know,
if you got the bah humbugs and not the holly jollies,
we got some ideas to get you on the right track.
And this is one I can tell you.
I'm actually, it's happening at my house as we speak.
This is one, as we speak.
Some, some are, uh, ideas that I've used in the past.
Maybe you're not using this year.
Maybe you never.
This is part of our.
Pursuit and path to BCE 2025.
This is a, this is a banger.
Oh.
Really?
It is the Lego set of Kevin McAllister's house from home alone.
It's where Aaron Rogers got beat up, Jack.
It is a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a,
big one and it's a little pricey but our deal I bought this I guess about a month ago
and I said here's the thing we're going to do this on our way to Christmas you can't just be sitting
there by yourself and doing it got to have somebody else in the family you can throw some music on
or whatever but you do it as a family thing you don't need everybody sitting down but you can't be
doing it by yourself can you see the piece count there I asked you I can an hour ago what do you
with kids when they won't I can tell you I and I have not done Lego since I was a kid so it's
come a long way. I'm very impressed at the little things that this thing does and has.
And you don't know as you're putting it together. So it's a bit of spoiler alert maybe. So if you're
thinking on doing this, then, you know, maybe it's all along. Now, you can see that 18 years of age.
It's maybe a little exaggerated. Yeah. That's a little. 17 year old not do this. Come on.
But it's, it's not, it's a big one. Important drinks in there. What's the story?
So let's, yeah, we can walk you through. Again, maybe some spoiler alerts.
Three thousand nine. Oh, my. So there you got Marry.
Marvin Harry. He's at the bottom of the stairs. He's got the spider on him.
Look at the iron print on his face. He's already taken the
Oh, right? So he's going to hit him there with the crowbar. I think we all again,
spoiler root if you haven't seen the movie. I guess it also helps if you see and know the movie
rather intimately, I guess. He should watch the movie. If you haven't seen the movie,
we're sorry about your 25 year coma. I hope you're doing all right. My kid says it's part of
the big four. Oh yeah. Home alone. It's they have two in the big four. So there's that one there.
there you see him right there's coming in the doggy door at the back there's Kevin he's got the blow torch
see the blow torch by the uh oh yeah there it is so when uh when harry pops his head it's got to
it's like erred rogers the other day getting his tooth burnt off look at the pizza
look at the little nero's pizza pox there get the change you filthy animal that's right it's coming
i'm gonna give you the count of ten one two ten there's the paint can oh we were talking about the
they should have known.
There's the paint can coming from the second floor.
Coming in hot.
Marvin Harry.
They're like, oh,
little lensure.
It's going to hurt.
Again, don't do that at home.
Missing tooth.
Look at the details.
Well done.
So there's Little Nero's pizza.
There's the Angels with Filthy Souls movie on the TV.
See they got the rabbit ears going on top of the TV.
No good.
Yellow belly.
Yeah.
And again,
there's the flame that's going to burn Buddy's head when he comes in the door.
It's a banger.
it's a good one now also kevin actually he heated the doorknob right that's right that's another one
wow and i'm sure there's some things that are missing there's the truck that's i think that's one of
the first things you do is build their their van the wet bandits the wet bandits are up to no
good they're up to no good in that thing right there that's an easy one does you get the neighbor
with the shovel that'd be a nice touch i think remember he's in the kitchen where he's trying to
be a guy, get them all off off the scent that he's home alone.
You got Michael Jordan and that thing spins.
Rodding the train.
On the outside, there's a little thing that you'll spin with your fingers and that guy goes around the train.
Damn, Kevin was sharp.
Yeah, Kevin's so smart.
There he is putting on the after shave.
Oh, my God.
Oh!
You know?
So there you go.
You know what I mean?
How good is that?
That's awesome.
Almost 4,000 pieces, Dino.
Yeah.
So you open.
We got it brand new.
I'm sure.
How big is the box?
It's big enough.
Yeah.
A suitcase.
And it comes with a very handy booklet.
I recommend following it.
Yeah.
Don't just kind of freelance.
It's fairly detailed.
They also got the zip line to the tree house over there.
That's right.
And they do have the back.
We haven't got there yet.
But you build the main floor,
then the second floor.
And then it's,
we've had a wonderful time with it, guys.
That's great.
How many puzzles are you going to donate this next month?
You can sit down and put on some Christmas carols.
You could play the soundtrack from the home-alone movie.
Have some, you know, maybe some hot chocolate or a nice cup of tea.
Rock and a bamboo.
The Christmas tree.
Maybe a bamboo with the kids and your loved ones and have a great time.
Get the dipped Oreos.
Yeah.
Whatever here.
You're cooking on this BC.
Where are you putting this when it's done?
Where is it sitting in the house?
Well, there's some discussion about what happens at that point.
I don't want it sitting around.
I say, I just like, well, we're going to just take it apart and throw it in the box.
Oh, dad.
But some people do, I guess, if you're a Lego head, like Sjornovich.
You can buy, they actually have like light kits, little things specifically for this thing.
So they battery powered or whatever, you can light the house and then you put a glass case over top.
that won't be happening.
So my guess is at this point, it's going to be,
we're going to dismantle it.
Then it will never get put back to you.
I'm not sure that's the case.
It could be a holiday tradition.
It could be a holiday tradition.
Depending on how my members.
You're forgetting that all those things come in little bags with a booklet.
No, I know.
That was kind of, we are aware.
But at the start, it kind of gives you like of each thing that you're going to do.
Here's what you need for this part of the house.
This chapter, so to speak.
So we were thinking maybe color-coated.
That's how I usually do it with the kids.
Do color-coded in different bags.
So then, okay, well, we need six of these and that.
Then you can kind of, but it's, yeah, it's, uh, there's,
there's going to be some challenges probably down the road.
But I'm not worried about down the road.
What are you worried about next Christmas?
Christmas after?
Uh-uh.
This Christmas, which of course, as we know, is going to be the best Christmas ever.
I'm going to say, after a hell of a start, I'll tell you that.
Yeah.
So again, just to recap everyone, if you're not at home with,
Pen and paper, bumble rum, fudge, white-dipped Oreos, your TM 66, Christmas tree permit to cut down a tree in Calgary region.
And then today we got the Lego McAllister house.
Yeah, the Home Alone house, the Lego kit.
And I put these ones early because I think, you know, especially the tree, you're going to need the tree right away.
You're going to want to start the Lego set.
There will be some things that are closer to Christmas.
We can roll out then.
Do you have a Kevin drop or no?
but I'm thinking about you guys.
There's a say so.
Yeah.
Can't remember if that's one or two.
One.
Is it?
Yeah.
She's on the plane.
Yeah.
People give two a lot of credit for things that were in one.
I've noticed it's two days in a row.
People are trying to give credit to two for something.
And he won't stand for it.
One is the one is the like fucking few sequels are better.
The hell is wrong with you people that are so stupid.
One look two.
Your son's got it in the top four.
I'm concerned.
One absolutely.
top four.
Top five.
Ryan's top five.
Christmas movies.
The home loan's obviously one.
I'm going to put Die Hard in.
I don't watch it enough, but that's always a banger.
So the number two, your number two movie is one
you don't watch.
You're going to say Christmas vacation.
It has to be, again, I don't see it often, but
anytime I do I love it. So bang.
And again, my kids are younger, so they're not like
National Lampoon yet, right?
So probably starting now.
Yeah. The Grinch.
One of the Grinch is, I'm
trying to remember which one.
There's been so many.
The Jim Carrey one's good.
The animated one I really liked.
Elth has to be in there.
And as we get a little older later in the night,
Bad Santa.
Don't love Bad Santa.
Don't love Bad Santa.
Too salty?
Don't mess with my Christmas.
Yeah, the BC is about positivity.
If you want to be,
do Halloween or something else.
Some other staples.
Jack, I've been worried about you.
It's been a lot going on.
I want to get to
out there.
You need a hobby, and I think he should take up cooking.
Oh, wow.
He ordered a book the other day.
That's nice.
The reading is good.
I think that's a nice.
Let's keep you out of the bar.
I want you to start cooking.
Start cooking.
So you're going to attract a hot babe.
But really cooking, not a hot dog roller, not an air friar.
This is Rhett trying to get his lasagna.
Make some sauce.
No, I was worried about Jack last night.
He's sitting around.
He's doing nothing.
Some days he comes in.
He doesn't look so good.
Food delivery for a bag of nachos.
He's paying eight bucks for Doritos.
Sweet chili eight.
How is, okay, so let's...
Why can't?
How are we, John?
What a great hobby and lifelong...
I am looking for hobbies.
Look at it.
I got the buck.
What gets us, him excited?
Not much.
Cooking.
Cooking.
Christmas.
Learn to make some great meals.
Like, complicated.
Do you own...
Cookware?
Yep.
I own cookware.
I don't really use it.
Is there something that, yeah,
is there something that you wish you knew how to make?
Or is there?
Yeah.
Make a big meal every day.
A big meal every day.
Yes.
I need to learn how to make pastas.
That's what I want.
I can cook a steak.
You get some water.
Yeah.
You boil that something.
Are you talking about fresh?
I'm making the actual.
Don't say pasta.
It drives the talk.
Boston, pasta, pasta.
So like a
just spaghetti kind of thing?
Yeah, but like a fancy one, not just like
water and throw some sauce on it and chicken.
I can do that.
Yeah.
He needs to know how to make good bolognese.
That's what he needs.
Got a lot of simmer.
Like a fetuccini Alfredo.
Yeah.
Something like that.
Chicken carbunera.
None of its heart.
You can do it.
It is.
Probably can, yeah.
You absolutely can.
Plus, he's good with the technology.
You can YouTube all kinds of great cook and stuff.
Reading the book, I don't like his chances.
I'm worried because it got there yesterday.
I thought I had him all.
Yes.
Now, what's the book update, Jack?
He didn't open it.
Well, he kind of opened it.
I got some photos.
Okay.
So Jack is looking for a hobby.
He wants to do something.
Brett said, you should read books.
Why don't you get into some books?
Rhett loves books.
So you ordered a book.
Okay.
It got delivered.
There it is.
Okay.
This is nice.
I like that.
The out of focus.
Yeah.
The guy that delivered it.
He sent that.
Oh, I see.
You're enough.
Yes.
I did deliver.
Orch pirates.
Okay.
And so I walked in my house.
Were you excited?
I was kind of excited.
I was kind of excited.
I honestly had no idea what it was.
I was like,
oh, yeah, I bought a book.
that's the book.
Okay.
And then we opened.
Oh,
there was just sitting on my desk.
And,
uh,
that's as far as we've gotten.
So you can crack the,
pages,
but you open.
Well,
this is not a movie.
Is what Jack getting a book?
Jack's buying a book.
Yeah.
No.
It's a bit of an epic.
It's a long movie.
Yeah.
Day one.
Open.
Day one.
I bet you once you get,
you sink your teeth.
into it, you're not going to be able to stop.
Can I get you to write down a list of words
that you don't understand? Because these books,
some of them. Yeah, I was thinking about that.
This is a lot of words. It's going to be all right.
This is not. It's going to be set probably
like the 70s around then. There's going to be some lingo
that was in the 50s. It's before they killed Kennedy.
So we're doing some
30s, 40s. This is after
Capone. I've got my
chat, GPT thing set up.
It's called Reading Support Plan.
This is not complicated
Cated read. This is we kicked the shit
over this guy. The whole point of reading is
like to get off the technology jack. Oh, I know
but there's just going to be way too many
things I don't understand. Just be words.
What is this thing you have?
So the reading support plan
on chat GPT. What?
Is this for real? It is for real.
So like when we would go to school,
they'd have a dictionary. If you come across a word you don't know,
go to the dictionary and learn what the word means.
Exactly.
Go and read now and don't stop for 30 minutes.
Then you'll have read for 30 minutes.
Two pages isn't bad.
And then do it again tomorrow.
I will read chapter one tonight.
Okay.
That's the goal.
It's the goal.
Chapter one tonight.
Chapter one.
There is a hockey game and there's some afterburner.
That's football.
That's a late game.
I feel like early evening, late afternoon is Jack's hobby window.
No.
No, gym time?
Yeah.
Because you're not going to be reading if the lions and cowboys are putting up a thriller.
No, like this will be like every night before bed.
This will be like 10 o'clockish.
I get another chapter.
Okay.
And the Cowboys have stunned the lions.
Okay, time to read.
Well, good for you.
You're trying to be a better man.
I like it.
You don't like my idea for Jack and cooking?
I think they'd be good for him.
He's always eating that shit.
We're to ignore the elephant in the room with Jack and his hobby stuff.
he's sworn off dating and he's in his 20s.
Like, we're really just filling.
There's too much of that, Jack.
Populate the world.
Get out there, date.
Too much what?
Dating or not dating?
No, to be kids sitting in their room, not dating.
Oh, I'll just talk to the screen and not females.
Now, is an audio book an option?
Is that the same?
Well, let's try the hard copy first, but it's an easy pivot.
Because I'm thinking the easier of the two is the audio book.
The audio book is great for a road trip.
Yeah.
What if you're in your kitchen cooking?
No.
What if you're doing your household tasks?
I'll get distracted.
I can't.
You'll miss too much if you're.
Now, he does have a, what, a 20, 25 minute commute every day?
You can get through a book over a month, I bet.
I don't, yeah.
But.
And you can listen when you listen to it.
A guy do all my stuff.
1.5.
Well, look, one point five speed.
That should have.
Why?
I don't know.
I just like it.
It's like, oh, stop it.
I want to hear like, it's humans talking, not robot.
You don't shut up, but you get going fast.
Yeah, I know.
And that's why people don't like me.
You're too down.
Just not just talked slower.
Christ.
It's best Christmas.
Gene would like me if I just talk slow.
You have some positivity?
Let's go.
That's not the speed.
It's the quantity.
It's a faucet.
There's no off.
It's true.
Let's do the Pender.
Do the Pender Report.
Pender Pindor.
Pindor.
The winter ready used SUV event is on.
Four by four is all wheel drives.
It's what you need this time of year.
Check out the selection online at villageonda.com.
Or go to the Northwest Auto Mall and see them yourself.
Don't be trusting some pixelated delivery photo.
Get up and feel the steering wheel.
Look at the tread on the tire.
Shake the hands of the great people at Villageonda.
Go and date.
Buy a hard copy book and read it.
That's right.
Go to the dealership.
Do some ass.
Get that Lego.
Pull back that backseat, Jack.
There's a much room there is back there.
Change of people's lives.
It is game day indeed is the Minnesota Wilder in town.
This is the hottest team in the NHL.
They in Colorado have been on seemingly month-long heaters.
11-0-1.
Someone not on a heater is in this photo.
That's Jonathan Huberto.
But we like his work ethic, and he's kind of become more of a two-way.
But if the mission was to turn a 115 point guy into a checking line, middle six winger, mission accomplished.
What they're missing is what he used to be.
And it's sad, but it is what it is.
And I think we all kind of cut bait for a few years on it's never going to be a deal that lives up to the salary.
It's totally bioproof with all the signing bonus.
You're not going to be able to trade him without ransoming future assets.
Can you actually walk me through that because I'm stupid?
What do you mean you can't trade them because of the signing bonuses and stuff?
So the challenge of the contract is that he's not performing nearly to the level.
Yeah, he's not going to.
And so if that's the case, one of the ways out a team has is a buyout.
Well, if he hits a wallet 34, we'll just buy him out.
The buyout only applies to the AV of the salary, like the actual base salary, not signing bonuses.
You have to pay 100% of signing bonuses.
And his contract at 10 and a half a year is like nine plus years on signing bonus.
So if you buy out his million dollar salary, you'll save three.
$33,000. That's it.
Like, there isn't the, in case of emergency,
break glass buyout. That option is not here for this contract because the buyout,
there's no gain financially.
And it's going to double your term and you still have to pay the signing bonus.
It's just not an out that you have.
But does it help you in your cap space?
No.
It's really a player exerting leverage saying,
I'm so confused.
You're going to pay me until my late 30s.
I'm going to make.
this contract. For all that we liked about
your living, he sure aft us over.
Like this year,
of his 10 and a half,
seven is signing.
Yeah. Next year, nine and a half
is the signing bonus. The year after that, it's
nine and a half. So yeah, you could
buy, oh, buy him out. You're buying
out a million dollar player. It's like, oh,
well, look, we saved 300 grand. You're like, well,
what happened to the, what happened to the 10 and a half
million we were going to pay this guy? Like, don't
I get like six million in savings?
No, you don't.
So that's why it's more cumbersome than just a guy not living up to a $10.5 million contract.
Year three of eight.
Cruz.
Is that bad?
Or Cruz?
It's good for him and his financial planner.
And look, I'm not saying he's been bad, but they've, like, he just isn't the player.
They thought they were signing at all.
What's he on pace for this year, points wise?
45 to 50.
That'll be his lowest as a flame.
Like what's the, I guess when the team can't score, it's.
Well, he's part of the...
Oh, he's supposed to be scored.
I mean, that's the one thing he could do in Florida.
It's a great defensively.
He's a great shit.
It is, it's like we took runs so hard for a year and a half over this thing,
and they kind of turned him into a serviceable second-line winger,
and he scored 30 last year, and you're like,
ah, you know, this contract's not...
No, it's still a huge issue.
I'm trying to envision.
So, like, Badaard last year.
Well, he's got no one to play with.
is he
you're just not going to
but no hear me out
so we piss ourselves this year
and we get a good draft pick
and you get McKenna
because they decide McKinner
whatever happens.
Yeah.
You fluke your way and you get McKenna.
Can he play with McKenna?
I think that's probably great idea.
We can flip that.
They're both wingers,
but yeah,
like if you put him with another high
IQ IQ offensive player,
you might see more of that offensive.
Yeah, I guess that's,
yeah,
that was the question.
I was trying to...
He's playing with Morgan Frost primarily the last three weeks.
He's supposed to be smart offensive.
He's never put up points.
I mean,
miscast is a...
Hubero had 28 goals last year.
Yeah, almost got 30.
So, what, career high, I think?
I had 31 year in the...
I would take 28 every year.
You're damn right.
What's he on pace for this year?
He has four.
So he probably pays for 11.
Shit.
Now, you know what, though?
Stop it.
That's bad.
No, that's good.
He's in.
He's a hoots with Conroy.
Yeah, Tank Commander.
If you're going to tank, tank, don't waste goals this year.
Save them up.
Yeah, make no mistake.
If you're a contender and this guy's on your top line and you, like, this is a darnel nurse-sized issue.
Can't move them.
Can't play to his value.
It's crushing our cap situation.
But since you're in a rebuild, it really doesn't, it's not as painful as it could.
Yeah.
But he kind of threw you into the rebuild.
If he's a star player, they're not doing this problem.
You're probably right.
and he's got a lot of years left.
Five.
You hope that.
Thanks, Brad.
A tough run for Brad here.
That's in trouble again.
Hot seat.
He had 115 points in 80.
15, Dino.
He was like him and lucky Luke,
highest scoring left-wing seasons of all time.
And he wasn't even playing with Barkov.
He's playing with Sam Bennett and Anthony Duclair.
You're like, this guy's unreal.
And he came here.
The largest drop, season over season,
and initial history.
that Zito's brilliant.
He's very good.
He's paid the off-ice officials extra to get those second assists.
Chislin, is that what it is?
Chisland's secondary help.
To pump that value up.
You know what he was doing.
Well, can I say that?
Pumping them.
Can I say that?
I mean, talking about assets.
Yeah.
I'm talking about something else.
Maybe don't say it.
It's the Pender Report.
I know, but it's, you know what?
It's good conversation.
Let's keep going.
The good news of the Calabry,
They have lots of very intriguing young players.
Sorry, going on.
What were you saying?
Nothing.
I'm distracted.
Yep.
Mabby Griddins lighten up the American Hockey League, fellas.
Look at this.
I don't care.
It's the H.L.
He's terrible.
Yeah.
I'm not sure which side of sense.
Redson, I don't know.
19 years old, one of the youngest players in the American League,
and he is right there amongst the league leaders.
Can you go off on why the other people can't play as 19-year-olds in this league,
which would be perfect for a lot of kids?
So, I've had this around 40,
times. I don't know if being second cheek or not.
So for this,
talk to me. What?
Okay, so these are the leading
scores for the Wranglers.
Yeah. It doesn't really tell us what they are
in HL scoring.
Yeah, I can give you that. It's okay.
I'll logging it up. It's like they have five
the top five scorers. No, sorry.
Those are the team leaders. But again,
the real unique thing about Griddon
isn't that he's playing well. He's played well at every
level. It's that he's one of
the problem of the youngest five or ten players in the
entire. He's a wee bit. He's very
junk. In fact, if he was drafted out of the queue, he's
not allowed to play in this league. Because he was drafted out of the
USHL, he is eligible to play.
Dumb rule, getting changed next
year.
You don't want to rush things right. Yeah, well,
it certainly wouldn't help. He can't go to
Nashville and buy a drink. He can't do that
for a long time yet.
He can't rent
a car? Nope.
Probably not. Jack, can you rent
a car with your track record?
Do you have
a bad track record, Jack?
Do I?
Jacob Pellci?
Isn't that the guy that was here?
Yep.
Is he too small?
Isn't that the guy that was here?
Gridden, five points off
the H.L. scoring lead.
He's currently
in 10th in
H.L. scoring.
And he is one point of
our rookie scoring lead.
Sixth.
Firk's a journeyman.
Matt's a Gryden.
He's 10th.
Who else we got?
Rarick Cairns is 19th.
Rara.
Arara? We're going to see Gridden again.
It's not if, it's when.
Open up some winger holes in the top nine, Connie, would you?
Go get her done. A big weekend at the dome. We should tell you about that.
The Wranglers have had a monster road trip, but there's some Hitman hockey,
some Calvary Flames hockey. We've got the Flames alumni doing a bunch of stuff.
I know this is close to Ratt's heart. The Flames alumni toy drive is coming up on Saturday.
Saturday they host the Utah's. Is that correct?
That's correct.
Yeah, the Utah's.
Mamute. For more information, go to the Flames alumni website, Calgary Flamesalemni.com.
And Sundays, the teddy bear toss for the Calgary Hitman game of the year. It's the
Goddy. It's the game of the year. It's the Goddy for the hitman. You've got so many.
And, you know, this has been going on for a long time. I wonder if it's waning in popularity a bit.
No, they're selling out the press level now because the bottom two levels are either
virtually sold out or entirely sold out. Yeah, you need to.
You need a big arm.
But if you want to see something tumble like 12, 12 stories, that's the place to be.
You got to put some change in Teddy's pockets.
Don't do that.
Wait, no.
What you want to do is wrap up a brick and then sell up Teddy.
No, Dean.
No.
I took my guys to their first teddy bear toss and we were press level and just to watch them tumble and tumble.
Yeah.
It's like huck and a lugee off the bridge when you watch how long it takes to hit the water.
It's quite impressed.
Brought taking stuff.
That's this Sunday 4 p.m. Hitmanhockey.com for more information on one of the calendar sports events in our city.
I love it.
They do the specialty jersey.
Yes.
It's great.
Usually they have like,
yeah,
there's the snow piled up on the numbers on the jersey.
Love it.
Awesome.
Festive.
And I think they auctioned those offer charity.
Yeah,
that's good stuff.
You know what?
Best Christmas ever,
guys.
BC.
So good.
Put this on your list tomorrow.
This could be,
yeah.
This would be to give you to see tomorrow.
It could be tomorrow's, man.
Right it down.
Before we get to the schedule,
let you know,
Dustin Wolf is in the starters net that morning skate today.
No surprise there.
It came in.
Thank you.
In relief of Devin Cooley.
In the, well, shalacking they took in Nashville in their fifth of a five-game road trip where they, frankly, look tired and out of gas.
And we would understand why.
They did.
Here's McLevin with the update.
Are we convinced they won't?
I was going to say, I don't know that.
I'm trying not to
go to go to a hockey.
But we at least understood why it was going to be
tough on the lottery. Only one day has
passed. It's still two games and three
and they can travel yesterday.
Time change.
Go get them, boys.
Retz pulled the ultimate old man move.
The thing he would have done in his playing days,
he's yelling about saying it's the wrong move.
He would have begged for an extra night in that.
What if you knew that they went out
to Florida?
Fine.
Sunday was the days.
But it's not what they're doing.
They were there Sunday.
They should have done it then.
It makes, that's the end of the road trip.
Get home.
I'm sure there's guys that are single,
don't give a shit,
but a lot of guys would have been like,
what are we doing?
I feel like there's got to be some testing that shows.
Some like sleep,
I know we've talked about it,
but there's probably some real good data there.
Again, there's some people telling me.
They're not just doing that.
It didn't just dawn on.
on them that they could fly home.
They're playing. They can fly whenever they want.
There has to be some really hard data
that exists. Science, yeah.
To show that I would put some hard data down
that if you're given a person extra night in Nashville, they're going to
have a bigger hangover, not smaller. That's, that's
my math. I've watched people fly home from Nashville.
It's not pretty. No.
People puke in during the security dance.
Even recently, I've seen it. It's not an
inspiring group. No, people are coming
home with bad habits. You imagine if the flames look like
our group? Oh. How many espresso
martinis would we have on the ride home?
Hey, it's good to be back.
Take this Copenhagen.
My wife doesn't know.
Still have that.
Here's the schedule.
I'm gagging even for,
nine of the next 12
at the Saddle Dome, fellas.
Nine of the next 12.
That's a ton for all the travel they've done.
They're going to settle in for the Christmas
spirits. I love it.
One California road trip,
a one off to Edmonton.
That is it for travel in the next
three and a half.
If you're going to go some more,
California this time of years.
Yeah.
What's what do you call those?
Chimichangas or over in San Jose?
Oh yeah.
What did I call those?
Kila, Chili Chilis.
Chillikiles.
Anyway,
like that's extra gear.
Yeah, thank you.
It's the wild tonight.
7 o'clock start 5.
It's a evening, not night game
on hockey night in Canada.
It'll be potentially,
now we've been waiting.
We had the Roman, the Battle of the Roman Empire.
Roman Chechmanich against Roman Turic at one point.
We will now have the Battle of the Coolies.
It'll be the cool off between Logan and Devon, potentially on Saturday.
Can't wait.
Tickets may still be available, but get on it.
I know who I'd take on my team.
Yeah, I see too.
The guys just made 10 million bucks.
See that extension?
Holy.
Does he own a rabbit?
Don't rabbit.
Rabbit.
Rabbit, rabbit.
That's the, no, fourth today.
Sorry.
Let's see what you're doing.
I'm going to you to stop it.
Or give yourself a shovel.
Or both.
People know.
People know.
Let's go to the Minnesota Wild where they looked like.
We flashed the lines earlier or did we?
No, we didn't.
Look at this.
Top line.
Ryan Hartman.
Another nifty little lad there.
He's a grease ball.
He was a hawk draft pick.
It's right.
Yeah.
And he is.
He's a little ball of muck.
He loves having those guys around.
He usually plays in the bottom six.
We'll see what the injury situation is.
How do you teach a guy to be a ball of muck?
They just born that way.
way. Yeah. Is it?
I mean, I'm not, I don't know that it went to some course in the summer.
I feel like with him, the over under is always about will he be suspended tonight?
Mm-hmm.
Will he do something to get himself kicked out?
I'll look on 365, see if they had that.
Yeah, I feel like it's even money.
Yeah. Caprizo of Hartman Zuckerello, two crafty wingers and a grease ball at center.
Erickson X quietly, one of the better two-way centers in the league.
Scores two, big, sweet. Boldy's been sensational.
Again, a guy that slid in the draft to them.
Thank you, Edmonton.
Marcus Johansson, an interesting free agent ad.
He's longer in the tooth, but still a creative guy.
And then they get some big boys.
Sturm, Trennan, Tyler Pittlick still around.
Goodness.
Not a sexy bottom six at this point.
Tarasenko is certainly somewhere near the 18th T-box on his career.
But hey, what, want a couple of years ago?
Florida?
Sure did.
Bottom 10 of the NHL?
Actually, let's look at the goalies.
Yeah, the D.
Protein, Faber, Middle,
Spurgeon,
William and Begotian.
A lot of vowels.
Can I buy a consonant, please, Zeeve?
They got,
you know what?
They, again,
it doesn't matter,
but between Spurgeon and Begossian,
that's good.
And Middleton's kind of one of those.
Yeah.
That's some good quality veteran.
Yep.
Burdine's not young either.
And two young studs and two young studs.
Must be nice.
Once they drop Verhof,
you'll have Perak and Verhof.
Youngstone's great stuff.
Love it.
A lot of buzz around him all of a sudden.
There's your injuries.
Marco Rossi is a center.
He was subject to a lot of trade rumors and offer sheet speculation.
They got him on a team friendly deal.
And Marcus Felino is a pain in the ass to play against.
Big, can score, fights.
He's missing from their top six as well.
Danila Jorov come over from Russia.
He's interesting.
And we'll see which goal it is tonight.
Both have been excellent.
Walstead suddenly becoming amazing.
The major threat in the Calder trophy conversations.
They got a nickname for him.
The wall?
The wall of St. Paul.
Oh, my goodness.
It's pretty good.
That's pretty good.
Yeah.
By today, nickname standards, that's elite.
Because it's got wall in his name.
Yeah.
And a wall generally, you'd think, okay, well, that's good at stopping bucks.
Protect you're right.
This is going to be, that's what you, it's a barrier.
Yeah.
And it rhymes with St. Paul, which is where the team plays.
Yeah, but it's Minnesota, St. Paul.
So you just get good to ignore the other city?
The Wall of Minnesota does not rhyme.
Twin.
Yeah.
Ryan knows about twins.
Too much.
You know about twins, all right.
Let's keep moving.
Bottom 10 in the NHL, the wild, we're here at one point.
They have been absolutely roaring.
They're into the top five in the NHL.
Here is your list of teams in misery.
Sharks have fallen back in.
Leafs trying to climb out.
Oilers have only allowed.
what, one goal their last two games?
They're one and one.
Bill Skin Dogs start to play a little better.
You forget how long these seasons are.
It's like, hey, Utah, how about that?
They've arrived.
Okay, well, let's play a few more than six or seven.
The other thing of note is just how cramped everything.
Like, NHL 500 typically isn't bad.
I know about cramps.
There's five teams under NHL 500.
That's it.
And you know about crabs.
Shampo?
The other thing that you need.
There's shampoo.
Can't forget about is half the teams.
Half the teams don't play
Don't make the playoffs
Used to be a lot more than that, didn't it?
16 out of 22
You'd be bad if you missed the playoffs
There's some good teams of miss now
Florida's starting to creep up
Is that feels like they maybe
Leaprog Buffalo there?
Buffalo sliding down
San Joseb coming back to Earth
Toronto maybe coming to life a little bit
Two game winning streak for the least
A trend, not a streak.
I think those five that are sitting there right now
or those five that'll battle it out.
Don't you mean.
The top five or the bottom?
Those bottom five team.
I'm not convinced Buffalo's fighting its way.
I'm hopeful, but I've got my.
There's too much.
Now they got Norris, right?
Josh is back.
Yeah.
Centermint scores.
That's going to be helpful.
Score the other night.
If he can stay healthy.
But I just feel like to lean back.
They've been much better since they got to lean back.
He left with the family issues.
I guess it was his mother.
But there's enough.
continuation from last year's Buffalo squad to this year's where it's like,
well,
when are you finding this magic pill that you search for?
This winning tonic.
Yes.
Let's go to the games last night.
A couple plucky teams we've really liked this year.
I like plucky.
Got their doors blown off.
Look at the bottom.
Ducks.
Quack.
Quack.
Quack.
Quack.
Quack.
Quack.
Quack.
Quack.
throttled by the mammoth. That's got to feel good
for Utah. You'd noted they've been on the skids of late.
Washington on the road
disembowel the sharks. A long way from home.
Long way. All the way.
Yeah. But Ovi have a couple?
Oh, we had two. Oh, we're still good.
Still scorn. Sabres, lose, in Philly.
I don't know if you saw overtime between Winnipeg and Montreal. It was
sensational. What? You hate overtime.
Well, this one was actually like trading chances, not the reloads for five minutes.
When they do let loose, you need a mistake.
You need things happen. One, two on
might give you five, two on one.
You need a slip.
And Dallas blanked Markstrom and the Devils.
Markstrom did not score, which is why I mentioned it.
Yeah, I know if they're counting on him for some offense.
What was the story with Dallas?
See the Jets getting one point?
Dean.
It's not good.
It's not good there.
Let me tell you about the last month of the year.
The Jets are a league worst four, nine and one.
Remember that bottom 10?
That's coming to a Winnipeg near you if they don't turn things around.
Yeah.
It's article on Sportsnet.
Uh, thanks.
So thanks a lot, Hellebuck.
Yeah, I mean, it definitely puts things in perspective.
They've not played well.
Their coaching staff to talk about that.
And now they don't have the goalie that allowed them to win games when they weren't at their best.
Zegra scored again for Philadelphia.
Yeah.
Last night, they scored three goals in 59 seconds.
It's been very good.
Is this going to be one of those ones where, yes, it is.
Oh, yeah, teams could have had Zagris for.
Don't get me to call on, Dean.
I said pick them up.
Conroy didn't listen.
Come out, Craig.
Do we remember what they traded for Zegras?
I'm trying to.
Was it like a second and a third and a player or something?
I can take a look, see.
If you don't mind doing that, that'd be great.
Anyway, we can also have the discussion whether or not it does them any good,
even if they do trade futures to have a 25, 26-year-old Zegras right now.
Well, he needs a new contract.
That was the whole rub with him.
Yeah, but if you trade him,
pop a dump.
Yep, you could have pumped the dump.
You're loving that.
No.
No.
Right?
I think they've tried the pump and dump a few times on other players.
Didn't work as well.
Anaheim traded him to Philly for Ryan Pailing a second and a fourth.
Second fourth and a guy.
And a body.
You should have made that deal all day long.
I want to screw that.
He has 26 points in 26 games.
He's going to get like 9, 10 million a year flopped in front of it.
Yeah, he had 32 points last year.
Granted in 57 games, he was injured, but 26 already.
Yeah.
geez.
Is Ryan Palin playing?
He's probably a 13th or 12 forward.
He was a Habs first rounder.
I'm not taking a shot at him.
It's not the piece of getting back.
But at the same,
ducks are doing fine without him.
He's doing great in a new spot.
He needed a change.
Ducks are fine.
Ducks and flyers speaking the same language.
I don't give a shit about the ducks or the flyers or any of it.
I'm saying we should have traded for him.
Could have been our ass.
I was just kind of being happy for everybody.
involved.
You know what?
Zegers should be screwing up this tank.
He's going to be having the best Christmas ever the way it's going.
He didn't get himself some Lego and some bamboo rum, all kinds of shit.
A lot of sunlight hours in Calgary.
He talked about the California weather being a problem.
I don't know if it would have worked to.
Wouldn't work here.
Don't know if it would have worked.
Do they have a Mishkov to play him with here?
I don't even know if he's playing up Mishko.
Okay, keep moving.
This is a great bit from way back.
It is an Olympic year.
So let's go revisit the Ducks with Bobby Ryan.
Are we really talking about Olympics?
And Ryan Gets Laugh.
Bobby Ryan, can I have your autograph?
Sure, kid.
Hey, kid.
How would you like an autograph from a gold medal winner?
Everyone says Canadians are so nice.
And you know what?
Not true.
Are you kidding me, a gold pen?
I only sign on gold, silver.
Dude, are you using my metal as a coaster?
Oh, this is your metal?
Sure, I didn't recognize it.
It wasn't gold.
What a practice.
The other day, this Taylor came in.
I thought I would jump on the bandwagon.
He said no problem as long as I stood on a lower point.
podium. It's there, Silver. Go get us some pucks.
That guy calls me Silver one more time. Let's go.
U.S. Day.
What are you going to do about it?
Nina Meyer.
I like it.
Got a good. That's kind of good. That's he was.
Yeah, that's a classic. I couldn't remember who it was if it was him or Perry.
It's like, it just struck me that good on Bobby Ryan for how.
having a sense of humor.
Yes.
A role with that?
Yeah.
Because I was that for like Kimmel or Letterman.
That was fast to be.
There was laughter and stuff.
That wasn't team produced.
Sour with Bobby Ryan.
What the fuck are you doing, Bobby?
Hey, don't it.
Keep it down, Silver.
Great news for,
a person that we followed very close in the last few years.
Teage Gillen,
who missed all of last season almost,
getting his hips redone or whatever.
Look at this player the month.
24 points in 13 games.
And that is an incredible teenage mustache.
Can we just salute that for a moment, friends?
Yeah, I mean, he's trying.
And you respect that.
Doesn't your old eldest have any little lip caterpillar like this?
He got rid of it.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Good Lord.
Yeah, he got rid of it.
How do we feel about these logos they've gone to?
I don't like them.
I don't either.
It's very cartoony.
Don't care.
Yeah.
11 goals and 13 games?
Like that.
Very good.
Like that.
You can wear whatever.
the hell you want. Yeah, it's true. You have those numbers.
No sideburns. I don't care. Do your thing. That boy, Teach.
Also from the dub staying there, we had a play we need to watch. This doesn't happen often.
It's like Haley's Comet.
That rare? Really rare. We'll see. You tell me.
Fire it up the ice. 105 to go in the game. Xavier Went is out of the goal. He's looking.
He's going to try it. Xavier went for the empty there. He's stars.
That's how I feel good.
Xavier went, draft eligible.
For the one team, the other team's pissed.
Yeah, Swift current wasn't too happy.
Oh, you're going to rub this in on us.
Okay, well, let's crash the net, boys.
You ever have a goalie goal in a game you were in, right?
Not that I recall, no.
Would you be thrilled for your goalie or absolutely sour
that was scored on you or both?
We'd probably be both.
How jacked it would be even?
Your goalie comes back to the bench.
If you like them.
The glories are weird.
These ass hats are doing this.
They're up three nothing already.
You got to rub the salt.
What about that player?
He knows he's going to try and shoot it.
You got to try it.
I think there's a few guys that knew.
You have the whiteboard out?
Well, look at the,
yeah, that's a hard four check.
You're down three.
Because you know what he's going to do.
It's open net.
You're not scoring.
This is not an outlet pass.
You've got to get in front of this thing.
Oh, boy.
Good shot.
They're just dumb kids.
Dumb kids.
Dean, it's not the fault.
Dumb, dumb.
So dumb.
So dumb.
So dumb.
Dumb.
Big NFL game tonight.
Lots on the line as the lions and cowboys will meet in Detroit.
Two teams on the outside of the playoff pitcher in the NFC.
Surprisingly close for the Cowboys and surprisingly out are the Lions.
We showed you this earlier.
The Lions currently 42% probability getting in the playoffs, so less than 50% percent.
50-50.
They win tonight.
They get better than 50-50.
If they lose,
down to a 1-5 chance.
Cowboys, meanwhile, very slim chances of getting in as it stands.
If they win, they can get it closer to 50-50.
And the Panthers are still in there.
I think their best shots probably chasing down the bucks,
although they're getting healthy.
There's the playoff pitcher.
Good luck, reeling in the Hawks, Packers, and Niners.
And a big one, as Jack alluded to, Bears and Packers, D.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Do we know where it?
is when it is.
Yeah.
Tell us.
Yep.
Yep.
This weekend.
This weekend.
It's on Sunday.
Back to me.
Let's go to Jackson.
It's going to be chilly.
It's going to be a chilly day in the Midwest.
Fly over states.
Yeah.
Somewhere in the by a great lake or something.
It's going to be cold here.
It's in Green Bay.
Oh, Lambo.
They're favored by six and a half.
Be careful doing the Lambo leap.
They're careful doing the Lambo leap.
They're.
Caleb.
Interestingly, the Packers, despite being in the wild card,
better percentages than the Bears.
Huh.
Huh.
Huh.
That's just.
Stats like the pack.
Nerds.
We like stats.
Speaking of the stats,
here are the odds of tonight's game.
Over under still at 54.5.
That's a huge number.
Line is three.
That has not moved all week.
And, uh,
false.
Yeah, real close.
Jeez.
Get some bets to.
discuss later in the program.
Love it.
This game. Love it.
We had the 12-hour Thanksgiving stream last week
as we watched American football
and celebrated our neighbor's Thanksgiving.
One of the incredible guests
near the end of those 12 hours
was the former team services gentleman
for the Calvary Flames, Red.
You call him Chester.
The old Chester.
Yeah. Chester had some great stories.
Good job.
It was a dog's name, but okay.
And you sent this video in our group
what are we looking at?
So this is some YouTube video of a guy,
except Doorbell cam.
We actually know this person.
Apparently we know this.
I didn't know that they had a side hustle.
Uh-huh.
Doing lights, but.
There you go.
Could have been a lot worse.
I was going to say that could have really gone a lot more poorly than that.
Because the leg kind of goes through the,
could have been hooked in there, got out.
That is trouble right there.
Chester, what are we?
you doing, bud?
Oh, boy.
That eavesstra might need a little work.
Yes.
Turn. Come on, man.
Oh.
You don't see retro or reg or
look at that.
That is, like you have shown
videos. Oh, yeah. This has been
to report Primo stuff. That's impressive
strength, though. I was going to say it's
with ice and snow. I was
like to know how his shoulders are feeling
today. And his tailbone? Because watch
watch the end. It looks like he survived it.
Oh. And as he's coming, is he kind of coming down
on his rear. So he
he's then having to kind of grab the eaves trough
almost in a backward kind of a thing.
It's getting twisted.
Yeah. The shoulders. If you're coming down
in your belly and your feet come down first
or whatever and you're facing
the natural.
Once more, Jack.
There we're just at the start there.
That's.
Okay. Looks good. Oh, geez.
Okay. Well, yeah, well, where are you there?
How did it? How did it?
It probably happened fast, I'm guessing.
No, I bet you have it real fast.
Until everything.
was in slow mo when he was falling.
So happy, you're all right.
It's happy. You're good. You're good there, Chester.
Now, I got a little crow. I got really hot about the arena setup in Milan last year.
And I was saying, look, this isn't a big deal. It's three to four feet. That's a tiny amount of ice.
But some of the video surfacing a little more concerning than what I maybe had been led to believe.
So this should have done my homework. This is Milan.
The new rink in Milan.
Yeah. You can see really tight net.
That's how they make up for the...
That's McKinnon.
Of course, already named
of the squad.
Yeah, they're testing it out.
There's Sid coming behind him.
He sent McKinnon first. That's good.
With the puck's two twigs, love to see it.
Yeah, you see Break the One, man.
And it is a smaller sheet, to be fair.
Not a lot of seating.
Tickets are a hot commodity.
Very much so.
So, I'm sorry, Dean.
I take that back.
There is a rink in...
When I first saw this,
video.
You've been here?
I felt,
have I been there?
You have to like,
look at the weights.
Because there is one in southern
Manitoba,
some little small town and that's,
it's the same way.
You have to take this ladder that sits above the ice surface.
You have to get the hook and haul down the stairs to get off the ice.
What are we going to do?
Come on.
Not a lot of glass in there.
Just white boards up the walls.
Great spot for fans.
Lots of great seats.
or standing room only, I'm told.
Standing with your head on the great standing room.
That's your Pinda Report on this fourth day of December 2020,
as we march towards the best Christmas ever.
It's for our friends of Village Honda,

And if you don't see the exact color,
I was thinking when I wanted the to the toe.
Well, hey, access to more than 500 in the dealer group,
Villachana.com and in the Northwest Automalture dealership for life.
Talk to people.
I love talk.
Geez, I wonder if they have any.
Because there's no way to know.
Oh.
Talk to people.
Ask for help.

on ice and people at the party.
It's my third Christmas party.
Have a few temples.
Just hang in, keep swelling them back with us.
You don't need to feel like a bag of Richards tomorrow.
So there you go.
Thank you, Temple.
Great time of year for that.
Great time of year.
Of course, we're all responsible.
We don't drink and drive, but you want to, hey,
we're going to somebody's house for, you know.
A lot of social events.
A lot of socializing.
A lot of socializing.
A lot of socializing.
Which,
I was going to ask at the end of the show,
but I guess I'll just throw it in now because we're kind of there.
You have a party tonight.
How big is the bag of shit that you are going to be tomorrow for this show?
So you're talking to rat or you?
Nope.
I'll be fine.
I'll be able to tell you exactly how big at about 11 p.m.
Because that's either when...
I'll text you at 9 and let you know.
I was going to say, I don't know if I need until 11.
The Australian either throws me in the cage.
and I'm taken home or I'm set free
to fly. You know what? I'll do it
when you come on after burner.
I'll decide for myself.
Why aren't you going to this fancy party boom?
I don't like people. I don't run
in these circles. This is very
fru-frou-frew fancy.
This is an invite only. This is an invite.
You don't just show up. This is the
Dean would get an invite, but he doesn't respond to people.
This is the upper, this is the elite, the upper crust.
This is some of the
Benchis of Calgary.
You know, Tate McCray is coming back for it.
Oh, is Tate can be there, girl?
Who else is Calgary?
Paul Brandt.
Paul Brandt, it's right.
Yeah, he'll be there.
Brett Hart.
All the hearts actually are going to be there.
Many.
Yeah, yeah, they'll all be there.
I think Kail McCar is coming back for it.
It's missing the game.
Missing that big game tonight.
They're sour about it, but he's like, hey, it's the potty.
It's the party of the year.
It's the biggest party of the year.
Yeah, yeah.
So.
Right, it'll be cutting a rug on the
Flames will be right after.
Right over.
How about this?
So, and again, I feel bad because I've been pushing back to start time.
But let's say the show, let's just say 10 a.m.
Even though that never happens.
Never.
You don't show up before 10.
That's right.
If it's 10 a.m.
Show time, how much sleep do you think there will be?
Or what will be the, how much time between the start of the show and the end of your evening?
Both the latest they can sleep in.
is 730.
So that's going to be the hard deadline for wake up.
Okay.
So let's just say,
when between the end of your evening.
So the bars close it to when it's finally like,
okay,
Ryan Pinder,
your night is done.
Turning in for the night.
There's a lot of people going to this party.
So if he's let loose on the town,
he's definitely at the bar till two.
But then on top of that,
there are a lot of spoiled rich pricks that live down here.
They'll stay out and about.
So they're going to go back.
to someone's house and have one of those
after party deals.
Spoiled rich tricks.
Four. Four.
Or am. No, four hours.
He's going to get four hours. Okay.
There's two ways this plays out.
I'm either tucked in by midnight or it's probably
a two a.m. That's it. Okay. Nothing later.
What would the bet three, six, five odds
be on that? Well, a set in your own
odds is interesting because it's like,
you have a hand in it.
That's why they don't allow it. What do you have?
I would say the, uh, 2 a.m.
minus 120 and midnight is plus 105.
Yeah.
Really close.
$55.45.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I just hope your energy.
I'm not sure what your energy level is right now.
I think it's okay.
I think he knows what needs to be done today.
I think he's preserving.
I don't think he's been overly aggressive.
I've been banking sleep the last two nights.
We are ready.
It's been very.
Maybe the path isn't there and that's fine.
But if it is, I will not.
Not be surprised.
Yeah, and I'll be there alone.
Now, you can choose to answer this or not, but is,
is you're the woman you live with?
Yes.
Yes.
She'll be there.
So will she be on the same schedule?
No, no, no, no, no.
So I'm, either the under pays out and I'm going home with her in a cab.
That's the 10 o'clock.
That's the babysitter's got to go soon.
We should catch a cab.
Yeah.
Or it's, you're being an idiot having way too much fun.
I'll go spell the babysat.
Okay.
And then that's the two a.
And the odds on that are?
minus 120.
Got it.
You might peg those at minus 300.
Yeah.
Again, join me on Afterburner tonight.
We'll have our Bet, 365.
And the Pindor.
So it's a 7 o'clock buck drop at the dome tonight.
If I'm correct, that means game,
you guys will be going by 10 to 10.15.
So by the end of Afterburner 11,
we'll have a really good sense of which path we're on.
Yeah.
I can call in with live.
updates if you want or just text you yeah you can text me i was wearing a sequin blazer last year
that was a bit of a target i feel like uh it's a little more subdued it's a fancy party subdued this
year fancy let's take a look at some of bet 365 bets let's go get it things that are actually on
the bet 365 app that you can uh like the football game like the hockey game that sort of thing

And we've been saying it.
Once you get in the app
and you start looking around,
you realize it's way more than just
Josh, there's lots in there.
Game props, it's almost endless.
Whatever your bed is, it's never ordinary
at Bet 365.
This, Beth365 is a non-alcoholic beer
because I know.
Yeah.
You would never associate booze and gamets.
It's non-alk.
Thank you.
Good.
Look, maybe this is two on the nose,
but the wild don't allow goals
and the flames don't score goals.
This is screaming under
at me and somehow it's plus money for five and a half.
Maybe the flames get first game backed and it's all wild, no flames, but their
goal tenders have been great.
I would expect a inspired and challenged Dustin Wolf.
Okay, cool, he just got four starts in the last six or whatever it is.
Got to get this back in my control.
All that leads me to believe unders and play here.
And I'm going to go DAC to hit his third straight game at all.
Over 300 yards.
Two in a row,
including against a good Chief's defense,
last Thanksgiving.
Both these teams have been off for a week,
not on the weekend Thursday games,
so it's normal rest.
No one has an advantage there.
I don't know who wins it,
but I love this Cowboys offense all of a sudden.
Pickens, you got Lamb,
Javanti's still running the ball well.
Diptered Ferguson at the tight end?
Yeah, Sheltz.
That's funny name.
Those are our bets.
Don't have to be yours.
Bet 365.
There you go.
Bet 365.
Download the app.
Get in in the game.
You must be 19 years of age or older.
Here's a promo code nation.
If you haven't signed up already, then go get it.
Of course, it's not too late.
Get on that.
To wrap things, as always, we'll do the super chat.
It is the YouTube chat.
As we're live, you put money down along with your comment.
We get the money to the U-S centers of Calgary.
And then we react to whatever it is you have to say.
Coleman, one, two, one, ten.
Chappelle at the hippo tank was an absolute train wreck.
Sound was terrible.
Some donkey in a jersey tried to get an MVP chant going.
The city is filled with Neanderthals.
Rawlings.
The Nell Rawlings was great, though.
Yeah, I found a Reddit.
You are familiar with Reddit?
Yeah, yeah.
The topic was Edmonton Chappelle show,
and it's just flooded with comments about how many morons were yelling.
Because there was one heckler in coverage.
Apparently it was a huge issue.
issue. And a lot of his bits didn't go over well.
Well, they say it multiple times. Two things. Don't have your phone out and you can't because
you've. It's in the case. It's in the thing. And two, just don't yell. Don't heckle, please. Don't yell
heckled. Hey, Dave. Just shut up. And still people can't help themselves at a comedy show.
They have to yell. I mean, there was some lady here and at the show here. Is it bad?
Shut up.
I need attention.
Could you shut up?
It wasn't bad here.
But apparently in Edmonton, it was a massive issue.
Which we're not surprised at all.
No, I mean, Dave, when we sat down with him.
Yeah.
Don't go up there, Dave, I understand that they,
whoever planned this tour, live nations,
how do you go in Edmonton?
You're going to want to pull shoot on that.
I don't care what it costs you.
What do you think the gate is per show for Dave?
well how many seats
and what's your average ticket price?
No they weren't
and there were not many empty seats
so let's do some rough
I saw two nights ago
let's say your average ticket price is 200
multiply that by 16,000
that's 3.2 million
and I bet that's low
the venue like Nation gets some
there'd be some really high end stuff
like your growth and then you had mixing
concessions all that which he obviously wouldn't get
but it's part of your deal
yeah that's uh
that's bringing in many
millions of dollars in one night.
Split to
promoter, Dave, openers.
You're talking barburner money.
We can sell out that Milan rink.
Can we do that?
I'm not sure we could.
I think it's reasonable rates.
Yeah, I'm not sure we could.
I want a piece of the popcorn revenue.
Milk tobo.
Milk taboo.
Anyway, I didn't see an article that
DeBoer doesn't claim that turtle toothpaste was made on a four foot shorter ice surface,
55 by 55. Thanks for lulls, guys. That's a throwback. Thanks for being here for a long time.
Turtle toothpaste. Yeah, the turtle toothpaste, which was just one of the best things we've ever done.
He's got the little Microsoft assistant there from Word, your old paperclip, but help you out,
hey, you want to end date this, indent this paragraph here.
Yeah, let's throw on some bullets. Hey, you want to check your punctuation. Shut up, paperclip.
Try to finish this project.
How do I do this?
You never did homework.
People actually went to school off to deal with this.
Yeah.
Thank you, Milktoe.
Thank Milktoe.
$74.18.
$5 for the good guys.
That's all, boys.
There you go.
Reminder to check out.
And we are, by middle of next week,
the top shelf elf auction will be coming to a close.
And I know how it works.
A lot of people are going to linger.
They're going to kind of like
sitting through the lurking
through the weeds.
I'm going to wait till right to the end
before I did.
But some sponsors of the show,
some friends of the show,
we've called in some favors.
We have some auction items
and all of the money that will come in
when the auction is over.
Not that one.
There it is.
Hey.
Is going to go to closer to home
and their adoptive family campaign.
They buy gift cards for needy families
that otherwise would
go without.
Ooh, a couple new ones in there today.
A couple new ones.
We've got handsome Dan.
Let's take a look.

$1,000 towards your rental out there.
So I mean, even if you spend a thousand, you're getting $1,000.
And it's a big, you're doing, right?
So you're doing well there.
Thank you, handsome Dan, vacation rentals.
I appreciate that.
And then your good friend, Todd Halpin.
Yes, stepping up.

The Crystal Waters one at the bottom, our good buddies, Sean and everybody there are a massive,
massive one there.
It's a $12,000 furnace air conditioning package.
Goodness.
Tremendous.
So maybe you don't even, I always thought we'd get an air conditioner.
Be kind of nice.
That sort of thing.
It comes with a new furnace as well.
Damn.
So that's a huge donation.
want to mention this.
It is now up and running.
I think it's been up for a couple of days.
If you just, I'm going to put some bids down,
but I'd also like to make sure that if I don't win the item,
I can still help the cause.
Donation tab is open and all the money there,
like the others,
will go straight to closer to home at auction's end.
Love it.
There you go.
Tonight,
the wild in the flames.
The wall from St. Paul.
Yeah.
The Wall from St. Paul.
What are they called Gustafson?
Philip.
I believe that's what they call him.
We'll have the game.
Seven o'clock start.
Phil.
Me and somebody else are going to do After Burner tonight.
Pender.
Pinder.
Me and Pinder will do some of Afterburner tonight.
Look forward to that.
Jack's Book Club tomorrow.
Yeah, that's right.
Darren on the show tomorrow.
Another key to the best Christmas ever.
Are you feeling?
You got to be feeling.
feeling it, right? I feel great.
Game day. The Lego, you were kind of like,
hey, you could do something with your kids.
I'm going to get that thing. Yeah.
And we haven't even heard from the jigsawla yet. You know one of those
is coming later in the month. No, yeah.
Can not wait. Maybe sooner than later. I was in a story
yesterday and I found you.
I brought up a puzzle the other day.
The person I live with said,
well,
what kind? And I said,
well, you have a puzzle.
Yeah.
It wasn't appreciated.
Oh.
So I didn't know what they meant by what, like,
the world puzzle?
3D puzzle.
Like what?
So enjoyable.
I mean,
we're kind of given,
you know,
maybe giving it away.
And we could talk about it when the time comes.
Yeah,
probably there's going to be puzzles.
Your reputation precedes you.
Yeah.
The jigsaw outlaw is absolutely heading into his favorite time of year.
Oh,
can't wait.
Especially crisp carols on.
Ah.
Snow falling out in the windows.
Carmelventi mokas.
Oh, best Christmas ever.
Jack!
Yep.
Great show, guys.
Great, great show.
Really looking forward.
After you're both the small guys.
Yeah, that went on for a little.
I was happy.
Do you got a chance to scan his emails?
No, I got a chance to.
Shetman showed up as Trump for.
What was the name of the gangster movie in Home Alone?
I wanted to make sure I had that.
Oh, yeah, Angels with Filthy Souls.
Right.
What was the keep the change of filthy?
Yeah, just doing show prep.
They're good.
Just doing show pro.
You see?
Very much invested in whatever it was you guys were arguing about.
Just something tap-up.
Boy, tomorrow's going to be a good show.
Great show.
Don't miss it.
Short.
But good.
See you, buddy.
