Certainly for both, but I think that coming into the season, you had the Lions penciled as this got as good, maybe good a chance as any. Yes. Yeah, like we just said, they had 15 wins last year.

Like, they're a favorite in the NFC. So here for if the Cowboys move to seven wins to be, I mean, so you can see the bottom numbers there. If the Cowboys lose, their playoff probably. drops below 10% see ya. If the lions lose, oh my God, 20%. Like that's one in five chance of getting in. Because they got to chase down like an eight-win San Francisco club.

Like there isn't really a weak wild card in the NFC right now. Packers look solid. Seahawks look really good. Niners have taken care of business despite injuries with a really soft schedule. And you look at their probability of getting in the playoffs, 92, 89, 92. So the Packers and Bears play this week. The Bears can jump from first to seventh with the loss. Oh, that would be false.

So yeah, it was, and it wasn't even a terrible start, but it was a little bit, you know, kind of, I don't like your approach to the booting it around, but they have been smoking the last since like November 1st kind of thing. Yeah, end of October, they were not in a good spot.

Yeah, they were terrible. I was like, they got to shut out their first game and you're like, okay, they're going to be good. And then it was like, ooh, they're having a tough time here. Is this the team that's going to slip on the banana peel? No, but here's not. they don't they don't give you much they've shut out their opponent in three of their last six shutouts and in five of their last 11

to not what and and you would think well for the flames they have a hard time scoring right so now this is a team that pitches a lot of shutouts leads a league uh the flames lost two nothing already to the wild this year they were one of the shutouts okay in uh st paul November 9th. That was Yesper Walsstead, who's become a story, rep. Sure has. He's become a story.

He's a 23-year-old goaltender. He's played 15 career games, has shutouts in five of them. Keep that up, kid. Hall of Fame. Those are Hashik-esque kind of... That's beyond numbers, yeah. Only similar issue with him,

only Frank Brimsock took fewer games to hit five career shoutouts. zero the Hall of Famer. That's right. I think he's American. His last six starts. It's a weird stat. He's 7 and 0 in his last six starts. A 0.98 save percentage and a 9.0, in a goals against,

and a 971 save percentage. 10. 9. So see the shutouts in four of his last six. Goal heater. Yeah, it's hard to say he had the shutout in Edmonton, which was their last game. Custom. Good too. He's also have been very good.

You go either way tonight. They have two very good goalies. Go to Vancouver next, I think. I don't like. They haven't allowed a power play goal against in seven straight. Ooh, that's tiny. So they're just, they're feeling it, eh? 1-2-2, don't give up any chances.

You have a huge opportunity this year to look in the mirror and say, even when we're playing well, we're not even close to good enough. Let's make sure we don't fumble the bag on a lot of assets we could turn into futures. You know what it's going to be? And I've seen already, and it's probably just people in. I think it's it. and where else I might want to. play. I hadn't really given much thought, but the old tubby got me you got my mind to race in there. You're in the room for game one loss. Who's?

be in contact with my agent, right? Of course, you've talked about exactly what the hell. Your family, you know what teams are interested in you. I think part of the makeup of a pro athlete is to defy odds because you just shouldn't ever actually think you're going to become a professional athlete. It's just so improbable and unlikely and statistically abnormal. And so when you tell them they're out of it at the end of October, they're like, I was told I wouldn't even make a junior team. You're telling me we're out. Like I've seen heaters, like the belief in their own skill set has to be incredibly

higher. You don't get this far in life for most of these guys, this is my opinion. And so I think all these things will happen. But when we use logic to say you're out of it, you're not going to make the playoffs, they're not there yet. They're ready to defy odds because that's what they've done their whole lives. I truly believe that's when they come in and talk about 97 points and the sports books have them in the low 80s or high 70s, like they're like, yeah, well, who cares? They kind of lost year. We had 96. Like, now we're adding this preck kid and Wolf's going to be a full time. Like, they're skewed to believe what they probably shouldn't if they just looked at logic. You know what I mean?

I guess so. Yeah, it's however you're wired. I don't think they sit around. Mulling over, crunching the numbers? No. Yeah. They show. I know this.

You have to be selfish when you're playing because you have to only focus on yourself and being prepared to play the next game. That's people like, oh, he doesn't. No, yeah, that's right. I have to eat and drink and sleep. and do only the things that can help me because I'm only going to be able to do this for so long and if I slip up on it, it costs everything.

Yeah, the margins are so slow. And now these guys are established, but they're no, Anderson has already made plans prior to seeing how this team did this year. Now, could those plans they have changed if they're sitting in first and dominating? Absolutely.

But he met with his agent over the summer and knows exactly what the F is going on, who's available, where he wants to go. He's already, and to the point where it's like, I've dealt with this, he isn't thinking about it. He's told the agent in the summer, this is. I'm happy to come back.

We'll address this later. Well, or the agent has said to him, these will be the teams that would be interested. Or these are the teams I go to if they wanted to trade me. He's not sitting there on a date of phoning his agent after morning skate, go, okay, what about today? What's happening? And I didn't you news today?

No, it's all laid out. When they decide to turn the page as far as the flames making a trade or somebody paying the price to get them, then it'll happen. Yeah. It's like us debating who's going to be on Team Canada. Well, there's a list of, there's only little things that are going to change. Yeah, I guess, and we don't need to get bogged in it. It's just, it kind of goes back to the Markstrom thing from a couple of years. It's like, do you, are there no conversations?

It's just, it's, everything's completely. no one has these conversations ever about what this team is, what is the team going to be like, am I possibly going to be trained? Well, they haven't approached them until they approach anybody. I guess I just don't understand or respect. They signed all those four guys in the off season, the coaches of management that don't believe everything you hear either, right?

Like when we're told, oh, yeah, they've never bullshit. Oh, you know, Monday said something really interesting. He said, don't listen to the noise. They're absolutely rebuilding. And that's as plugged in as a guy is that isn't a GM in the league. And if you look at what they've done since the Lindholm deal on like the last day of January, two years ago, all they've done is liquidate older assets, lock up younger guys, acquire picks. Like they are rebuilding.

They just absolutely don't want that messaging out there for whatever reason. Yeah, if you only pay attention to the action, they're rebuilding. They're a team that's. But I think it's childish that they can't talk the way they need to talk to us as humans. To me, that's just, and that's just an opinion where you say whatever. Some markets that probably flies, you don't get challenged, but this is a hockey market. It's the biggest thing in town. People know this sport well.

It comes across as tone deaf and talking down to your fan base. But when you own the team, you get to run it the way you want. If that's messaging you want, pick it. If you want to, you know, bring insert to Solay and promote intermissions, you can do that too. It's your team. Do what the hell you want. Talk about the team winning, losing, rebuilding, not. Strip it down and get assets and rebuilders.

You better, yeah. If you're caught holding the Nazan bag in two years and he's not at the top two center anymore, like you've missed a massive opportunity, haven't you? That's the issue that I think is that, you know, you can, oh, we need them to. There is reasoning behind it. We looked at Edmonton, and Hull and Eberley and there was no leadership there. Last year, Badard, now I don't know who they brought in this year that's made Badard fine. Last year, oh, well, they didn't surround them and I said it too.

But they, the veterans is not the skill last year. Like they had the felinos and other states. I'm just saying that, okay, you can make the argument you need professionals. They still have them if you're just sure. Yeah, to show young guys the ropes a little bit to a certain extent. And if you're, hopefully they have, you have to map it out so that some of these assets that you're going to try and get as in high end skill players come together at the same time. So since having Kipper and then a decade later, Iggy, and a decade later, right? Like you got to get them kind of blending together at the same time.

Yeah, when you look at Anaheim, it's like they sprinkled in enough veterans where they trust the leadership, the direction of the team, but all their good young players are arriving at the same time. It's like Jackson Lecombe is the guy in the back end. Zell Wiggers popped this year. obviously out front Leo Carlson, McTavish, Cutter Goce, like that's their young core, but they have insulated him with vets. But the reason that argument doesn't make sense

for the flames is like you're already married to Hebrido. You're not going to be able to get rid of them. So that he's part of your veteran leadership. Backlons here for this year plus two more. He's not going anywhere. You got five or four years left of Weeger. Like you don't need double ups on all these guys. And if you, it's one of the reasons

that all problem with them extending backlins, because you're probably going to move off of Frost in cadre in the next two years. Like Frost hasn't done it for me where I'm like he's a core piece and he's a free agent at the end of next year. You could probably spin him out for a nice asset. Like is he undeniable? Absolutely not.

It kind of looks like American, or a young backland. I mean, you can say that about anybody right now. I'm just looking at the ages though. That's where you can't say it about him. You can't say that about Conner's area. He's too young. You've got to find out what he is. You're not saying that about Hansick and Grin.

Like they have a young group coming. If you move Nazim and Rasmusmus, you are not. in a huge void of veteran leadership. They have a lot of guys over 30. Plenty. That's what I think, too. That's where it's different than the Edmonton thing.

It's not like you're putting a C on Cole Ressiony, and he's like, who knows how to get in this rink? We're all in the first year here. Yeah, go draft the high-end skill. And then if you need to make a trader, you want to go to an agency and get the quality of humans. They got Gullors. They got Goulorne.

They traded for, uh, Crider. They went and added to the older guys. But they're not. They're best players. They're the guys that set the tone. And you still have those guys here. If you trade cadre in Rasmus and Coleman.

A recent draft pick, Zev Boyum, has having a heck of a rookie season. Don't talk about it. Played well last spring too. Yeah. 12 points in 27 games. Eight points coming on the power play. I didn't go as deep as to see how his minutes are being split.

Like, is it? He's on the third pair with. Bogosian right now, but he's played higher up than that at times.
