Starting point is 00:00:00 What's the mood out East Doodles? Who's good, who's bad? You see as senators with a huge comeback last night? Tampa was all over them. Well, you know what? That was a little bit like that Evanton, Calgary game there, because Tampa is a team. They're a serious team.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Like I look at, Vasilevsky was unbelievable early on too in that game. Ottawa has generated a lot of chances. Stutzel had three great A's, like right. away and vasselowski made some saves on him but it was tampa's power play kutroff just you know does his thing and they were two for two on the power play and it was three one and i'm looking i'm going okay this is going to get ugly here and ottawa just kept chipping away chipping away and then they you know they got right back into the game sanderson is guys he's going to win a norris i think he's good like he is that good he is that good he is so
Starting point is 00:01:07 dominant. And if we ran a board last night of his progression with the ice time and now he's, he's added the offensive into his game. Like the game winning goal last night, I don't know if you saw it. Ret go back and watch it. He turns a puck over in the neutral zone and decides to just skate it to the net and blows by, I think it's raddish and drives hard to the blue pain. Vasilevsky makes a save and Pinto comes in and jams in the rebound. That's your game winning goal with like two minutes left in the game. And it was like this, this Sanderson is a handful.
Starting point is 00:01:39 He's such a great skater. I hate using this, this comparison, but he reminds me of Scott, Scott Niedemeyer. Except he's six five. And it's all mad skated that way. It was just effortless.
Starting point is 00:01:53 But, but, but Sanderson is a wonderful player. They've got some good players there. What? Go ahead. Sorry, I'm just, I'm jumping in on you there a little bit.
Starting point is 00:02:03 But Carter Gackabchuk is from Calgary. Gary and played for the hitman, they sent him down. Another guy that's, I mean, their decor is that the best move for him? I think right now, because he's, I think they want him to be like more complete. We know that he's obviously offensively gifted, and I think they're going to give him every opportunity. But he doesn't need waivers. They can put him in Belleville. He can go down, run the power play.
Starting point is 00:02:30 If I was them, I'd play him 25 minutes a night down there, and just give him. him every opportunity. Keep in mind, if he comes up, he's not first power play, that's Sanderson. He's not second power play. That's Shabbat. So I think what they're doing is like, we want this guy to be the full package when he arrives. Now, there's a pathway, but the pathway is right now, number six, because when you look at it, you've got Sanderson and Zub, you've got Shabbat and Jensen. And that four is really good. You've got a, a skilled guy with a real stable defender. So, you know, it's, it's Jordan Leopold and Rhett Warner type of thing.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Oh, God, that was good. That's a, that's a, that's a good comparison there. Although I thought Reggie played with him, but it was more. Reggie did. I was with Ferrence. Yeah, okay. Well, Andy wasn't, Andy wasn't overly skilled. Andy was a good player, but he wasn't.
Starting point is 00:03:30 He's going to get married. He's not. He's not. He's not. Bullets. Poor Farrant's is just out on his mountain bike somewhere enjoying life. Oh, my small teammate. He's a gardener.
Starting point is 00:03:41 He's got a green house, like the retro. My two buddies, my former teammates, just giving it to me right in the ribs. Thanks, fellas. I love Andy Farrantz. We all love him, but I'm saying he's, you know, both Sanderson and Shabbat are a little bit higher and offensively, although Andy was as tough and mean as a snake. He was. So loved him.
Starting point is 00:04:00 But I guess my point being, and they're number four. five clear cut is is clever. So Tyler Clevin is a big boy you're telling us about all last year. Yeah. Big long defenseman who's got some bite. So now Jacob Chuck, that's, that's his spot, six when he arrives because Clevin is more of the defender and stay at home and he's a lot like Reggie. He's got some bite in that. So you can see the pathway for him. It's just a matter of time. And there's no rush. They traded for Spence. They traded a third and a fifth or Spence. He played in 79 games last year for L.A. He's a nice player.
Starting point is 00:04:34 He skates while he walks the line. But I don't know if they feel they need that dynamic in their game every night right now. I think they're going, we're happy with our depth. They've got that Matt and Paolo there, the finished guy who's a pretty solid player. So they're D or really deep. And I think they're there, if you did quadrants, they're in the top quadrant of the league as far as defensive depth. So they're not. Is there any way the Sabres breakthrough?
Starting point is 00:05:05 Well, Josh Norris getting hurt last night doesn't help. Oh, man. I don't know if you saw it. It looks like the same injury that he had. He had shoulder surgery twice or three times already, and he was taking a draw, and I've seen it. I've been in the building where he bought a shoulder out or a shoulder something when he was taking a draw.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I took a draw last night, dropped to his knees, went sat on the bench, didn't come back, And Lindy Rough's comments, I was reading him this morning, said that, yeah, that's not good if he doesn't come back. All he said, they just cryptically said that. So is Kevin Adams going to get Schittgen then? Because everyone said this is a risk. Well, I read, Red that, and now I read at Twitter, but I think it is a reliable source that Josh Norris has played four games for the Silver since the trade. And he's been hurt in two of them.
Starting point is 00:05:58 That was the knock coming in, too. Buyer Beware. There was no reason to move cousins. Cousins out of Buffalo. A 24-year-old 6'4 centip. Locked in on a contract, yeah. Heart and soul guy. And here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Travis Green told me that he was, I believe, top three conditioned athlete at camp this year. At a great summer, worked his ass off. He looks at it. He looks more confident. looks stronger. He's 24. Their centerman goes
Starting point is 00:06:32 Stutzla into cousins, into Pinto. And then if they wanted to push him down, you could have Ridley Greg as your four. But he's not going to be.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Ridley Greg is more on the wing now and they've got Lars Eller there. They're good, man. That's a contender. That's 24 and under for three of those sentiment.
Starting point is 00:06:51 And cheap as chips. Yeah, that cap going up, it looks even better in Ottawa. And by the time they start paying these guys getting all the new rink. The highest paid guy is Tim Stutzwell at 8.25.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Jake Sanderson makes 7.85. Everybody signed that. We're like, wow, he's played 70 games and he's getting all that money and now it's like, he's so cheap, that is unbelievable.
