Well, hey you, buddies. Welcome to the program.
It is a Friday, Black Friday.
American Thanksgiving Friday.
Yes, we've not moved.
We're still at Red's house.
Pinder's moved.
He's back at the studio, but snowing, eh?
Pretty day.
Got to take care of the hounds today.
Snowing for sure today.
Welcome to the show, presentation of Bet365.
Big day yesterday.
We're going to do our picks coming up in just a little bit.
Whatever your bed is, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
Yeah, you use a promo coordination when you sign up if you haven't already.
And yeah, we'll do some super chats today.
In the YouTube comments, you put some money down, we take the money, get it to the U.S. Centers of Calgary, and then we pick your comments on the show.
And once again, it's the McLeod Law Studios.
A little unorthodox, a little different, but that's, you know, it's kind of how we roll.
Jack got so hammered last night.
You're here.
It's just a complete disaster.
Yeah.
So here we are.
And we jump right in on the Crystal Waters, Home Comfort, Plumbing and Heeding, Insider Hotline with TSN Hockey, Insider Darren Dregger.
Hello, Dregs.
How are you guys doing?
Let's cut to the chase.
Did you get that garage heater?
Is that all that?
It is in.
It went in on Tuesday, I think it was, Tuesday?
It's quality.
I mean, you weren't lying.
It's a life changer.
It absolutely is a game changer.
But now what will encourage you to do if you haven't already done all of this.
I have never seen the inside of your garage.
You've got to pimp it out, man.
Like that's just, that's the necessity of the garage man cave.
Yeah.
Now you just got to roll everything into that.
It's your decorating.
It's very purpose kind of driven right now.
There's cars and there's bikes that hang from the ceiling that come to.
down and there's storage and stuff.
No, that take that, get that out.
Vehicles don't need to be in the garage.
No.
I get it.
Bikes, they got it, you know, you're not going to leave your bike on the driveway.
But that, like we live in, well, most of us live in Canada, we can endure the weather.
The vehicles are built to get rained on, snowed on, preferably not hailed on.
I understand that part.
But no.
Get the, get it, get an epoxy floor company to sponsor the show.
get them in there and get it done right.
Everything.
We actually got the floor done.
It got insulated and dry walled.
And we got some of the store wall,
the stuff on the side for hanging your extension cords and all that.
So we're well on our way.
I'll pass it along to the woman that I live with and say,
I need to pimp this out.
Mark goes to hide so I can pimp this out.
Make sale on electronic today.
It's a huge day for a big,
screen that's right. Black Friday.
Yeah. It's meant to be.
The timing is every thing. Well, you know what you do
real quick. I know we want to talk hockey, but
so you must have a big screen in the house
somewhere that, you know, maybe it's three, four years
old. Maybe it needs an upgrade.
That's right. Well, that's the one. You take the one from the house,
you hang on the wall in the garage and the wife and the family are fully
on board because now they have a new fancy TV inside the house.
Love what I did. This guy.
As my buddy, as my buddy Cam Moon would say, the great ones make it look easy.
It's just, it makes nothing but perfect sense.
It does.
Well, I mean, we can get into anything, I suppose.
Don't mistake coming on with us as a we want to talk hockey thing.
We don't need to do that, right?
The garage build out.
I like the TV ideas.
We did a.
Feast.
Stepped
stuffed with sausage and
turkey thighs yesterday.
Wilmer's buns are
phenomenal.
Really?
It came over.
It was sensational.
Now, is that a rural
prairie recipe?
It is.
Yeah, my grandma
Malberg would make
some question.
Tray buns, right?
The only problem was yesterday,
again, it was kind of like I was saying,
it was a bit of a road game.
I was here at,
I had to go back and get the right yeast.
I had the wrong size pan.
So if you use the right size pan, they snug up.
You know, they snug together.
So they're nice and kind of uniform and pull apart.
So these were a little bigger.
But I'm okay with the result.
Yeah, the turkey breast with the thigh meat and then the Italian sausage from Bontan meats here in town.
That was incredible.
The great retro did the stuffing.
Tell them about your mashed potato recipe.
You put Jack down.
That's what Jack was down for the count because he had to go back for double mash.
Well, it was basically mac and cheese.
You know the borsan cheese, Drake's?
A massive brick of that borsan cheese into the mashed potatoes.
It was phenomenal.
Very, very good.
Yeah.
Yeah, beautiful.
I'm having issues here, but I think I've corrected it.
I always like to mute and then unmute, you know, so you don't get the throat clearing and my
constant coffee and all that.
See, I don't know where I go with the cheese and the potatoes.
Again, a bit, I have time for it.
I appreciate it.
I'd like to test drive it, but I'm a bit old school of that stuff.
You know, I come from a house years ago where potatoes seemed to be the last thing
that any attention was paid to.
So my mom was a good cook, but the potatoes were lumpy.
you know that kind of never never brought the blender out the old hand mixer that's right
yeah yeah no my father-in-law he was brought up on a steady diet of meat and potatoes it was
potatoes he said as soon as he moved out of house he's I don't know that I'm ever eating potatoes
again so if I went out to eat or making dinner it was just there's no need for for potatoes
here but yeah it was good jack went back for the second helping of potatoes it cost him about
six hours. We did a 12-hour
we did the show yesterday here
from Rett's Place, but because we were doing Turkey,
we were hijacking American Thanksgiving is what we
were doing. Perfect. So we did
the turkey and all of that from here. Did the show
shut it down and then just
we sat and watched football and did a
live stream for
for Bontan meets. It went 12 hours
yesterday. Just.
Robin Reggear came over for a little bit.
Nice. Kelly
Chesley used to work for the flames. He came by
told some stories. We wrapped it up.
about 1 a.m. last night.
It was great.
Oh, no beverages.
You know, it was very family friendly, correct?
That's right.
Yeah.
Well, yeah, Thanksgiving.
Something like that.
Yeah, we were very flowers.
I saw an American podcast yesterday, and I don't know if it was live or whatever it was.
And I think it was the barstool group, but they were actually having a real conversation
about whether or not alcohol should be consumed or is part of Thanksgiving, or Christmas,
for that matter.
And two of the.
the three in the conversation were disgusted at the idea that there would be wine,
there would be any sort of spirits involved in things.
Yeah.
Those guys?
I'm sitting there.
Well, I mean, anyway, I was just like, I don't know.
I guess we're all heathens and sinners and all the nonsense.
But, you know, I.
And not that I condone or advocate for this,
but I've been known to crack the bottle of Grand Marnier Christmas morning
pretty early.
Pretty early.
Yeah.
Well, you know, it's your life for cooking, right?
You want me a little extra body for the gravy or whatever it is?
You've got to have the bird in early.
It's just how it goes.
It's just how it goes.
I'll pivot.
We'll get into something.
We were talking about it yesterday.
I know today the avalanche go for 11 in a row.
Wild.
Wagon.
This kind of feels, I said,
Is this going to be like Boston a few years ago when they set that regular season record?
We know how that end in round one.
But it is, it's their world and we're living in it right now.
Feels that way.
I mean, there's some good stories around the league, particularly in the Western Conference, right?
Just with the way that these teams are racking up the victories.
But Colorado is apparently going to go wire to wire.
And you look at that roster and provided they can stay healthy, I mean, they've dealt with some stuff.
I'm talking about the big boys.
Obviously, McKinnan and McCar.
I didn't know what to expect from Gabe Landisg
coming back into the mix,
but I don't think that we can
underestimate the value.
Just his presence, right?
And when he was out for that long term,
he was always around the team,
but you guys know, I mean,
you can be around the team,
but you're not part of the team unless you're in the room
and you're in the lineup.
You're about to be in the lineup.
And now that he's healthy, what a story he is.
And it's not about the level of production.
It's just about having a dude like that around.
He just exudes class and presence and leadership.
And honestly, I know that sounds a little bit over the top and how much does that mean?
When you've got to throw bread horse like Nathan McKinnon,
every once in a while, you've got to pull in the reins.
because he gets hot.
We've seen him run a hot on the bench,
never afraid to spar with Jared Bednar,
all of that stuff.
Give his linemates an earful when they need an earful.
Okay, that's all great because he produces.
And this guy's world class.
He's a superstar.
But I wonder if having Landisgog
back into the mix on a full-time basis,
24 hours a day, is in part anyway,
how this group just seems to be.
Yeah.
on a heater, just a flat out heater.
From the crease out, their top notch.
Was he runs hot, like you say, he runs hot,
whether it's handling media, handling the coach,
just taking some of that, because without him.
Oh, look at the dressing room.
Yeah, like it's awesome.
It's awesome to run hot,
and I'm not saying that he overdoes it,
but if you can't keep up with them,
that doesn't mean that you're not trying.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
It's like he's an exception.
They're all here a little bit.
Yeah, like if he's pulling on the rope too hard,
A guy like Landiscag can create a little buffer for the rest of the people.
Go, oh, okay, we can breathe and relax.
And Nate can still do his thing, but we're not getting ripped for not trying to keep up to him.
What do you think about how they've made that pivot?
Because a year ago it was ranting and then, well, they lost that deal.
And then, you know what?
Well, Nate just, well, he's not as good.
Well, maybe he is as good.
And they signed him.
I was a little bit sure, just because we heard a lot, maybe a little bit flaky, Marty, Natchez.
but what a land, what a great spot for him to land in.
And it's worked incredibly well.
I didn't, I didn't know it was going to go this well, at least so far for Colorado after
saying to find out of Rantan.
No way you could predict that that was going to happen.
You know, that hasn't changed the type of player that Mika Ranton is or his influence or impact
with the Dallas stars.
But there was a lot of developing drama around Marty Natchez, too, right?
His dad was chirping every once in a while.
And it was just stuff that you can't have at the National Hockey League level.
So I wouldn't say that that tarnished natures,
but he had to find a way to make that non-distraction
and focus on what he needs to be, which is what he is.
I mean, this guy is just an offensive weapon.
And, you know, guys can get hungry when they're chasing a big contract.
We see that on an annual basis, right?
You're pending unrestricted free agents who just find a way.
and then they signed the big ticket and maybe they'd take their foot off the pedal a little bit.
Well, NACIS hasn't done that, not even a little bit since he got his contract extension.
So, I mean, it's an excellent point boomer in that, you know, the architect of all of this is obvious,
and that's management of Colorado Avalanche.
You think that was an easy call to say, you know what, Miko, we don't have you penciled in
at a $12.5 million dollar player.
We don't.
And we got to keep our powder dry because we've got to keep our powder dry because we've got to
Kyle McCarer coming here.
So they made a real difficult organizational pivot, right?
They did.
And then, you know, they addressed their entire goaltending on the fly.
Who does that?
Who does that?
Both guys in two weeks for like minimal assets and spare parts.
Yeah.
And now granted, noodles pointed this out the other day on overdrive.
Maybe he's talking to you guys about this.
We do have to remind that so those guys come in.
and it's not like the avalanche, you know,
just absolutely lightning in a bottle in the way they went last year.
And they got bounced in the first round, right?
So the goaltending didn't do much for them last year.
But now we're talking about certainly Wedgwood is legitimately in contention
to be one of three of Canada's goalies at the Olympics in Italy.
I mean, so when when you make organization,
shifts like they made last year, you're not just obviously looking at the short-term benefits,
you're looking at the long-term benefits.
So they didn't expect to get bounced the way they did a year ago or less than a year ago in the
playoffs, but certainly hasn't hampered them.
They're not dwelling on what didn't happen.
They're looking at this year and saying, no, no, we got this.
I mean, they're top contenders statistically, obviously, but it's them and then the rest of
the field for me.
and that's saying a lot because there's some pretty good clubs.
It's been a crazy 10 days to the flames.
It was Wednesday of last week when Don Maloney had his intermission interview.
There was an article that followed with Eric Francis
where he seemed to double down and there seemed to be a little confusion
about what this front office was up to.
Then we see the Craig Conroy extension drop in the last, what, 36, 48 hours?
Just a thought on Conroy getting two more years beyond this year to be at the helm.
Yeah, I don't think that anybody was surprised by that.
I mean, I never got the sense from anyone associated in senior management or ownership with the Calru
claims that Conroy was in the crosshairs or in peril.
I never got that sense.
And I did, you know, that management group with Conroy as general manager, I think is highly regarded by ownership.
And that can change.
I mean, at the end of the day, it's a results-driven business.
And let's see how they go the rest of the way.
and what decisions are made.
What is the Conroy plan?
Right?
Because he's going to have to sell whatever direction this organization is going in in the next several weeks, a couple of months.
He's going to have to make that determination as general manager and then be convincing to sell that to Murray Edwards.
And if it is a retooler, rebuilder, renovation, whatever, then he's got to sell that.
And he's got to have a timeline that ownership can go, okay, all right, okay.
You know, our fan base is strong enough.
We don't think that they're going to turn tail.
When the new building opens, we think that our season ticket base is going to be solid,
but we do have to give them the promise that this is going to work
and that we're not going to be a decade away from playoff contention again.
So, you know, in saying that, that's a long-winded way of saying that I was not even a little bit
surprised that Craig Connery has been furnished with the contract extension.
But there are some difficult decisions, as I've illustrated here, that are coming in the
not too distant future. And that has to be a big part of it.
Up the road in Edmonton, when does the real panic set in?
Because they'll be measured by how they play in the spring.
But it's another ugly fall and it's creeping closer to Christmas than we're used to.
Yeah.
The panic isn't there yet.
I mean, you get that from the fan base.
You know, when you pay the dollars,
you can have whatever opinion you want, right?
So I respect that from a fan base.
But I think that the panic overall,
he's starting to set in a little bit.
Not with the club per se,
but you got to look around the conference
and around the division and go,
like, if we're still limping and stumbling by the 40 game mark,
how are we making the football?
playoffs. And when that reality becomes reality, then I think that is a different ballgame
for the Edmonton orders. Because again, and I don't, I get in trouble when I talk about
Daryl Cates for some reason. I don't think that he rules with an iron fist. I think that he is like
every other owner in the National Hockey League with realistic expectation. You know, he's poured
the resources into this franchise. They've been.
gone to back-to-back Stanley Cup finals.
Like every other owner, he wants nothing more than to hoist that Stanley Cup, and they've
come close.
So as owner, he's probably asking Jeff Jackson and Stan Malman, what am I watching?
Why is the same thing happening game in and game out?
Why am I hearing from Chris Knoblock to head coach prior to the Dallas game on Tuesday,
where he's talking about, well, you know, we've made some adjustments and looking forward.
forward to seeing, you know, how the team responds with the adjustments we made.
What, 10 minutes in, 15 minutes in?
It's 4 or nothing Dallas in the first period.
Well, that didn't go so well.
Didn't go so well.
So, yeah, but it's not an easy fix either.
Like, I mean, it's not like Stan Bowman isn't on the phone trying to find something,
but good luck trying something that is going to move the needle.
I mean, you'll look at what the Montreal Canadian
have done in a short period of time here.
You know, they grab Texie 8, get that done,
then reclaim Sammy Blay off waivers.
Well, Ken Hughes has been looking for forwards for several months,
and it's only because there are so few sellers.
So there might be slight panic developing in Edmonton,
but we know this team is good enough to pull themselves out of it.
If they don't, buy game 40, yeah, then I think you're open for full-scale panic.
Is one of the big issues there, lack of emotion at this point?
And in a way, rightfully so, right?
Those two deep playoff runs and just finding a way to be, I don't know, motivated for a game in November.
I feel like that has to be part of it because when you, we like making fun and their losses.
But when you look at the lineup, you're like, this team should be way better than what they're at.
the goal tending, you can question, but they should still be good enough to score their way out of a lot of problems.
Yeah.
To me, it's just an emotional or lack of emotion, and I don't even blame them for it.
No.
And the goaltending takes a ton of the heat.
And a lot of that's deserved, but I like what Dry Seidel said after the game on Tuesday.
Right, like, all right, yeah.
I mean, if you ask the goalies, they would say that they've got to make more saves, they've got to be better.
Well, obviously.
But look at the number of great.
chances that the Oilers defensively keep allowing game after game after game.
I mean, these guys aren't brick walls.
You know, they do need to be better.
The one thing that I've noticed, and I'm not pinning this on McDavid or dry saddle,
but they're the two best players when they're at the top of their game on the planet.
And we've grown so used to seeing Connor McDavid just flip a game on its ear in a flash.
and I'm not seeing that anymore.
Not to say that it isn't there.
Of course it's there.
But I wonder how much mental fatigue there is at this point.
And recognizing that, look, man, I can't pick up the puck from my own goal line and go end to end every single shift.
I mean, the other team is trying to, I just, I'm going to do my best.
I'm going to try, but I'm not able to do it.
I just, I don't recall, you know, it used to be every time McDavid stepped onto the ice,
there was something.
Like he'd force a turnover on the neutral zone and zip, zip, zip.
You know, it's either in the net or there's a great A scoring chance.
And we're seeing it less and less.
And I wonder just how much of a toll is being absorbed there by those top end guys,
just based on the fact that they can't figure it out defensively.
They're just a porous group from top to bottom.
I was going to, a week ago, we talked to, you were heading out to talk to Connor Hellebuck,
who was going to be out long term. They've not won since, I think it's three wins in their last 10.
I know it's only November, but they're out of a playoff spot as we look at the standings today.
It cannot be, the vibes can't be great right now in Winnipeg.
Yeah, and I wouldn't think they are. You know, I watched that Capitals game this week.
And, you know, Washington is a hit or miss team.
You know, they still have loads of talent there.
You know, their goaltending is excellent.
But, you know, Winnipeg is all that too, right?
And it just looked like, you know, it's not like it was Eric Comrie's fault.
They lost by a goal.
But when you've got an elite level goaltender, they can make two or three saves over the course of a 60-minute game.
That an average goalie that probably doesn't, below average most definitely doesn't,
that hurt you when some of the other aspects of your game aren't clicking.
And I think it is the double whammy that we're seeing right now in Winnipeg.
And that's why, you know, Scott or Neal after that game described them as being in a funk.
He's starting to identify that it can't be just about Kyle Connor and Mark Schifle
delivering the offense.
They've got to get scoring from other lines, you know, from other areas.
but I think they're going to try as best as they can,
maybe starting this afternoon,
to just remove the developing narrative.
Because it is easy for all of us in media to go,
well, I mean, you lose your goaltender,
your top goaltender and Connor Hellberg for four to six weeks.
I mean, how isn't that going to negatively impact you?
So Winnipeg's got to dismiss that.
And they've got to do it in a hurry because otherwise, again,
some of those issues that we talked about that relate to Calgary in some degrees,
Vancouver for sure, absolutely Edmonton.
You know, they can erode a real good team like the Winnipeg Jets,
and that's what I think Scott or Neal is trying to protect them.
So I want to jump on Vancouver.
I understand that, you know, they're saying veterans are available,
but not Quinn Hughes.
Right.
The elephant in the room is Quinn Hughes.
especially if you are shedding good players.
Like how in the world do they navigate the next season and a half before he's a free agent?
Like he's got to be in play at some point if they're as bad as they are.
We saw how the extension details snag things up with Rasmus Anderson this past summer.
Yeah.
That conversation comes into play before July 1.
Like what the hell are they going to do with Quinn Hughes?
And where does that leave this franchise in Vancouver?
Well, my sense is that if the Vancouver conducts can't,
right to ship. And some of this is out of their control. I mean, their injuries again,
I know it's an excuse, but you lose Thatcher Demko, which, you know, they've had to deal with
this historically, but, you know, he's out for a number of games. Then Kevin Lankinen,
who's a decent backup goaltender, you know, he has to take a personal leave. So now you're
into goalie three and goalie four. You look at their blue line. They've got two young guys with
just wild inexperience back there that are overwhelmed.
playing way too many minutes.
David Camp was pulled off the scrap heap in Toronto.
And he's playing second line center for the Vancouver Canucks.
So, you know, let's play the what if game.
What if Jim Rutherford and Patrick Galveen can't bring in the pieces that are going to help
this team be a playoff contender moving forward.
And you do get into the second half of the regular season.
You know, now you're closing in on the trade deadline.
you know, do you have to have that conversation internally?
When is the best time for us to go to Quinn Hughes and say, look, man, you're the captain of this franchise.
I hate to put you on the spot, but you're going into the final year of your deal.
You know, if you can't tell us today prior to this season's trade deadline, that you're willing to at least consider extending,
if you've made up your mind that you're not extending in Vancouver,
we need to know this because that has to be incorporated in our thinking
at this trade deadline and then obviously in the offseason.
Now, you draw a bigger crowd if Quinn is legitimately in play in the off season
because of cap flexibility and all of those things.
But there's also the thinking that what if a team steps up like New Jersey?
I mean, we all assume he wants to play with his brothers, right?
What if New Jersey goes,
okay, we'll give you the assets and then some because, yeah, we're depleting our roster to some degree,
but it also allows us another playoff push with one of the world's best defenders and offensive defensemen and Quinn Hughes.
So they're trying to prevent that.
I know Quinn Hughes is committed and invested in trying to win with the Vancouver Canucks this season.
But if it's out of his control and the holes are too deep to fill,
then I'm allowing those scenarios and those possibilities to come into play.
Yeah. It's not a great spot for Vancouver, but you can, you look at Colorado,
you can turn a negative into a positive. It doesn't mean you just got a, like you say,
you got a sociopath. Is that what Noodle says? You just have to be able to eliminate your
emotion and just make what, what is the best deal for that team.
Agreed.
We'll get you out of here. We do the super chat, which people can donate money to the U.S.
centers of Calgary and then we put their comment on the show.
This one comes in.
Sheldon Love, 2298.
It's 10 bucks.
Always love tuning into the show.
Love the Friday segments with Dregs and the crew.
Love the talk when it comes to smokers.
Oh.
Have you never smoked a full turkey delicious?
No, I've never smoked a full turkey.
And this is my laziness kicking in.
I just, I don't want to take the amount of time that it would take to smoke the full
turkey. So I pull it apart and I smoke the thighs. I smoke the drumsticks and it obviously
smoke the turkey breast. So I deconstruct and smoke the turkey. I deep fried lots of turkeys,
but I've kind of gotten away from that. So I've smoked turkey before, but not the full bird. That's
an interesting one. I feel like the deep fry thing is. Yeah, it's run. The idea and all that is
always better than the end result.
And your home insurance
kind of takes a beating too, right?
Yeah, there's a lot of great
you. You can be viral
if you're not careful.
Hey, by the way, real quick story before you let me
go here, about a turkey.
Every once in a while I've fallen to
this rabbit hole and normally it's around
smoking some form of meat,
but because it's the holiday season,
I'm watching this video.
And I'm seeing these two young girls,
teenage girls about to help
their parents carve a turkey. And so they look down and the one's got her gloves on and she's,
you know, lifting up the back end of the bird. And it's roasted. It's cooked. And her face just
goes white. And she looks at her sister and she's like, do you see what I see? And she grabs. And it's
obviously a turduckin or something like this. But the parents didn't tell these two teenage girls.
And so the mom you can hear in the background is this girl is pulling out a chicken.
out of the carcass of the turkey going, oh, my God, it was pregnant.
And all you hear in the background is,
blh.
I love that stuff, man.
We're happy holidays, happy Thanksgiving, fellas.
The planet is in great hands.
We're in great shape.
Have a great weekend, pal.
Appreciate you.
You too, guys.
Thanks.
There you go.

I had the, again, just this week,
hot water tank, the hot water is hotter.
It should have been hotter, wasn't hot enough.
Working harder than it needed to.
Furnace was working harder than it had to.
It just makes good sense.
And yes, the garage heater.
I noticed my kid decided, because we have,
don't tell me he's in there.
We've got a couple, you know, some vehicles.
and he's the side of the one that fits in the garage,
suddenly that's a good one for him to use.
Oh, right.
Interesting how that works.
Maybe it's a little better on fuel.
Oh, and it, because it's in the garage.
Oh, it's not frozen.
Weird.
Yeah.
I also noticed that it didn't free him up to have time to shovel the driveway
before he left today.
No.
That's a tough.
Tire tracks are iced out already.
It's just wedge the snow right down.
So that's awesome.
Yeah.
I love it.

Whether,
maybe you're a,
you're a home builder.
Looking for high volume
professional,
mechanical subcontractors.
They do a ton of that
and are the best at that.
Or if you're just a barn burner
customer,
I have a feeling if you say,
oh,
I heard you on Barnburner.
Might be,
yeah.
Oh,
is right.
Yeah.
Just like that.
Just like that.
We're here at
at Shea Warner.
What a night.
Sausage.
There's toast.
You want toast to sauce?
Jack's so good.
Who's had breakfast of leftovers yet?
I haven't touched any food.
I'm,
uh,
leftovers.
What do you think happened?
Yeah.
You guys left the house.
It just kind of kept going.
There's no leftover ribs, Jack.
We know that.
Do we want to talk about the ribs situation or?
That's still.
I owe us some ribs.
You don't owe me anything.
I am amazed that you.
You had to eat in some...
Let me walk you through it.
So yesterday is all about turkey stuffing gravy potatoes Thanksgiving meal.
Rhett did say yesterday in pure Rhett fashion, when he went to Bon Ton meets with Greg to grab the turkey and that.
I got I also got some ribs just in case.
Just in case.
Emergency ribs.
I don't know that there's ever been always something leaves with you from Bon Ton just in case, whether it's salads or...
or whatever it is.
So as well,
of course,
there's some ribs.
It was,
when did they go in?
You're like,
well,
they win,
Hey, Jack, do I should put the,
do we,
should we do the ribs?
Is it went in?
And you're like,
yeah,
let's do the ribs.
Now they were already cooked,
and they just needed to come to temp.
So you put them in the oven,
low and slow,
forgot about them until last night,
later on.
And,
you know,
when you had some drinks and that,
you could be completely full.
But if somebody says,
hey,
I've got some beef ribs.
are you, do you want some?
Jack's eyes lit up.
Yes, yes.
They were reheated twice.
They were reheated twice.
They were called for them to begin with.
That's right.
You want the ribs?
And Jack's like, yes.
Get the ribs in there.
All right.
I think that was around 11 a.m.
I was back at like seven or eight and we reheat them again.
God.
Yeah, and I got back from the poker.
Yeah, you went to an event.
You left and came back.
Pinder had to go do kid duty.
He left and came back.
Um, so then we're sitting around left.
Yeah, your kid had stuff to do.
He came back.
So you guys are still in my house.
Yeah, we're still here.
And the ribs came out.
And at one point, I'd got up to do something and Jack said, did you, do you have any of those ribs?
I said, no, I haven't.
They are so good.
So good.
This is true.
And then I'm not sure who, who went into the kitchen to try some ribs and it looked like.
Retro.
It was a bone yard.
Yeah.
It looked like some scene out of the serengetty where there's just some dry bones sitting on.
Nothing like completely picked clean.
What's the story?
I don't know.
I just,
someone pulled them out.
Yeah.
And I went over there.
Rets like try some of the ribs.
And then I must have been hungry.
Those were the best damn ribs I've ever had.
I don't know if it was because I had too many drinks.
But there was no meat left on.
any bone. And I said to you last night, I said, you know, we talk about when that's Bon Ton,
it's only the best that's coming out of there. Yeah. You're not going in there and leaving with
something. So I, and I say this to Greg, when, when family gathers around the table for Christmas or
whatever and everyone raves about the food, it, I mean, it does. It feels so great. When everyone is,
I can't believe how good the ribs were. That prime rib was, all of that. How many people sit around
his specific products and enjoy Christmas.
Yes, they are the best you've ever had.
The best tomahawk steak I've ever had came from Bontan,
the best wagu, like whatever, ribbyes.
They always come from there.
Big shot out, Greg.
I don't know if he wants us promoting it,
but what he did as far as the bird yesterday would be,
there's no way given a full turkey.
I'm led to believe he just kind of tried it because we were doing something.
He said, yeah, what?
Do it again.
I'm kind of putting them on the spot.
Put that on the menu.
Because he did say part way through,
he said,
make sure you don't,
just don't overdo it.
Don't overcook it.
Oh,
and like you said,
Pinder yesterday,
stuff can dry out pretty quickly.
It wasn't dried out.
No,
it was juicy.
Oh,
it was turkey breast and thigh roast
stuffed with Italian sausage.
And I said,
I'm not bullshitting.
That's one of the best turkey dinners I've ever had.
And he says,
glad you like it.
It's fun to try different things.
I think he just kind of winged it.
What a.
a legend. Holy shit.
You'll be doing it again for me
because that is on the menu
December 25th. God, it was
so, it was so good.
It was so good. So simple.
Okay.
So
these guys are playing hockey.
Yeah, there's hockey gone to go. There's football
today. I got a big
debate going in my fantasy.
Uh-oh.
Do I play?
Pinder, you're an expert.
Oh, yeah.
I'm tied for first.
You're tied for first.
for first?
I've won two straight titles.
Yeah, but you can't be trusted.
Oh.
That's fair.
Like you would,
you would sewer me.
Would I sabotage you?
Well, who are you playing?
Just to sue.
I may want you to really beat.
The beard science.
Yes, you got to win.
Oh, he was in first last week to.
Okay, now, do I play?
Beard science.
The wide receiver position.
Wondale.
Wondale Robinson on Monday night with a slightly
wonky ankle or
Smith today?
Devantes.
I would go Smith.
And the worst thing that can happen to you is someone that's not 100% on Monday is like out.
And you can't sub anyone in.
That's kind of my concern.
What's the, what's the one?
Yeah.
Well, it's a, I know it's a low, the over under, the robotics, the books at 365 saying,
maybe not going to be a high scoring game.
But New England, good defense too, though, don't they?
Like, on Monday night?
I absolutely wouldn't play Wondale
I think there's a lot of yardage there
but I think Devante's got the upside
and if he's got more predicted points
yeah yeah I think that's an over here
got an injury or something what's he got going
is he dealing with something
Wondale's got a bit of a wonky ankle
I'd have to get a bit of a wonky ankle
I'd have to get anything that's what I would seem serious
but Smith was out with an illness
on Wednesday
24 hour bug yeah
yeah that's what we're out
yeah
yeah he took so
from children's Tylenol.
He feels great today.
It's a flames game day.
Get your helmets on.
It's on.
The Florida Panthers.
Florida Panthers hosting the Calgary Flames.
Some news today.
I'm led to believe in the chat.
We had herself a, you know, we had.
We had one of these.
Pied bomb, pipe bomb.
It's a pike bomb.
Pike bomb, baby, baby.
Big pike bomb, pipe bomb, pipe bomb.
It's a pike bomb.
Get ready for a big pike bomb.
I haven't done the whole thing in a while.
Yeah, yeah.
Gave me time of research.
We were going to talk about it.
Out there for a second.
I thought we were just listening to music.
I know, yeah, it's a great ditty.
I don't know who's saying that.
Tom Jones.
Great pipes.
Great pipes there.
Yeah, the official word apparently coming down.
Is that what you're seeing as well?
they're uh yeah flames nation reporting the calgary flames have signed don maloney Craig conroy
dave known us and brad pascal all to two year extension so the rumored deal done with conroy is
the entire front office another two years vote a conference it's a band of brothers what's the face
i'm happy for all of them that's great i hope they're on the same page and willing to look at
all options and consider all scenarios yeah i don't know if there's any sort of disclaimers about
who gets to talk in front of cameras or not, but I wouldn't be the worst idea.
Yeah, there is that.
After a week of 10 days of what looks to be misfunctioned that everybody gets re-uped,
but all right, that's, I do not.
People know having jobs and making money and careers.
That's, but do the right thing.
Yeah, and honestly, like, Dawn's taking a lot of heat and rightfully going some or some,
respects because they stepped on a few landmines that they didn't need to.
But I would not judge whether he's a good hockey man or not based on his below
average media skills.
Well, we sat here with with here last night and his take and I don't, I don't, I don't, I want
to make sure I'm not putting it. I'll paraphrase, I guess.
His take kind of was he thinks that it's basically the messaging of ownership.
You just being passed along. He's echoing what he's getting from upstairs in the owners
sweets. So while you, maybe you don't like what you heard from Don Maloney,
it may well not be what he in his heart of hearts actually is thinking.
I agree. It's also was not as eloquently stated as it could have been stated.
Like that's not his strength. It's not like, here's a big crowd, watch Don, wow,
the room. Like that's not him. It, right? And you know what? Maybe it's, maybe it's,
maybe it is his strength. That, that, that, that's, that scenario that night was not well.
It was, well, it didn't sit.
let's take the line out of it.
The concern then becomes,
in all honesty,
the concern then becomes,
if Don is just delivering the message,
that's more concerning.
Yeah, you can hire and fire
and do whatever you want with people.
If that's the mandate,
still,
you've got these guardrails
that your hockey staff have to work within,
which is we don't rebuild,
we don't,
I can,
anybody,
I can do that shit.
I can go on TV and tell you that we're competing
and we want to win
and,
you know,
all that sort of,
thing. I'm kind of with you, Ryan, you've said it a number of times.
If in fact the flames, and it's been a little bit better as of late, obviously, what,
three and one in the last four, four, two, and one, but if they, by the time the trade deadline
comes and they are a 32nd, 31st, 30th place hockey team in the NHL, somewhere in that,
I think they will do what you expect, which is trade, trade assets for, for young players
older veterans out, younger assets.
Just because
it's so bloody
clear, that's what you do.
I'm not really giving them a ton of credit,
but it's like, you know, so you're near the bottom
and you have some guys that other teams
want and you're not looking like
you're going to win right? Well, then yes, by all
means, do
call it whatever you want.
Yeah, call it a re-biggle.
You can trademark the thing and sell shirts. If you don't, we will.
How many games?
And this is what they would do, and they'd be really serious.
And I'm, how many games until the trade deadline?
When's the trade deadline this year?
Early March.
So there's a long way.
Later.
It's a long way.
Okay.
But, okay, so early three months away.
Okay.
And that's length of time, but because there's a two weeks, Olympics, Olympic break,
and there's a little bit of a Christmas break.
So it's, how many games?
30?
You're not probably a little more.
Do you figure this out, are you?
You're usually 10 to 12 games a month, sorry.
Yeah, that's fine.
You were answering the question.
I just kept babbling.
So what I'm getting at is that that's fine.
We're going to wait and play this out.
I said it last week.
That just means that other teams are entering the fray as well.
And I don't give a shit what, I mean,
if you can have Luke,
or not Luke Hughes,
Quinn Hughes or Rasmus Anderson
Right yeah yeah
You're shopping in different stores
You are but you know what
It's a luxury item yeah
When Dreggs was talking there
The Montreal Canadians
They've been shot
They've been looking for forwards
So it's two things
You have other teams that
The drop down
We've seen St. Louis, Vancouver
There's just going to be more teams
That become sellers
There's also going to be other teams
That they've just spent their equity
that they have
To get a forward
or a defenseman.
So there's fewer getting ahead of the game.
Right.
So I agree, but we also have to look at the historical patterns of the league.
There are very few deals done before the new year hits.
There's a few where teams get their business done early.
Like Tyler Tofoli, I think was added like mid-December by Brad to Living.
You had the Linholm deal was a month ahead of the deadline.
But the vast majorities do happen at the deadline for a reason.
And I, yes, game.
61 and 62.
Thank you, Pike.
So there's a lot of runway.
And I don't think people are going to be like,
well, shit, we didn't know.
Codry was going to, like, they know.
It's just you have to let time pass here.
There's not a lot of deals to get done in the fall in the sleep.
It is, but it's tricky when you don't know if Codry,
you don't I mean.
So I think the standings you'll know in the new year, right?
So do you think if they're 30th that Nassum Codry's traded?
Yes.
Okay.
so do I but they're 30th now but the only reason I say the deals aren't good now is also what we're here he's not an expiring contract
you could take him into next year you could take him to the draft you could rasmus and i'm with you
because he's got no deal next year and his price is probably leaving i don't know that i feel that
strongly that if gnaz is kind of i i'm not dying to get out of here and if there's if there's some
trades but maybe it's on his no trade or the the offers i i don't know i sort of view two press
points on it. One is that
a lot of teams are looking to
upgrade number two center where
Nazim would slot in on a contender.
There aren't a lot of centers that are going to become available.
Maybe it's Ryan O'Reilly.
Nashville.
But like,
yeah, Vancouver. Maybe Luke
Shen, but I don't know, you know, where is
he now versus his prime?
Braden, thank you, Braden.
And then the other factor is like,
I don't think we should be discounting
Nazim's role in this because he's got
three years left. And if they're selling,
Rasmus at the deadline and they're taking calls on, you know, like Blake Coleman or whoever
else might be available. Like, does he want to play another playoff game in his career?
He's 30th now, though. Like, I know, I get, I know, yeah, I don't disagree that he's probably
has some say in it. I think what you're saying I agree with. It's just time has to pass.
Yeah. And I know that there's a tradition of letting time pass and there's deadpots.
It doesn't mean it's the right way to do it.
I was looking the other day, remember when we don't know that deal?
We don't know. You're right.
It could be the best deal on the tables today.
It's just generally speaking, it hasn't worked that way.
Maybe this is an exception this year.
Well, and sometimes I think Conroy did it with the Lindstrom.
Lindholm, sorry.
Where it's just, here's what I want.
I don't care.
Me my price and I'll do it now.
Yeah.
Sometimes you worry also about I have to win the deal.
You don't have me.
like, I'm not making a deal unless I win.
Well, set your price.
And when you get, when you get what you want, then take it.
Yeah.
Because like the Lindholm deal and I was thinking, okay, so those were, remember,
Trilliving, you would, you know, he gets ahead of the deadline.
And when Conroy did that deal for Lindholm with Vancouver, he was doing it.
Lindholm was January.
And Tyler Toffoli, that was a February deal.
And that was getting ahead of the market.
To Fulhu is earlier.
But yeah, they went up and got early.
And the notion that was from Triliving, like,
I want to get this guy into the room and incorporated so that by the time we get to the playoffs,
it's not like a 15, 12 game sample.
Like, I really want him to get comfy in this spot if he's going to be a contributor.
And certain GMs are willing to pay the premium to do that, but I still can't think of a November blockbuster.
You're contradicting yourself.
To Foley, just for this, to Foley, because I thought the same thing.
It's like, oh, well, that was, it was February 14th.
Okay.
And there was a COVID year.
The deadline probably was a little later.
It was coming out of COVID.
They had to catch up the schedule a bit.
My point, I guess my only point being is those are early deals and we're still a ways away.
Yeah.
We're all saying the same thing.
February.
Yeah.
And it would be nice if someone was willing to meet what your ask is now.
What all the insiders on all their podcasts are saying is like the desperation might be high in spots.
It's not getting lower.
Like if you think the heats on Bradshaw living now, wait until January.
Or, you know,
Doug Armstrong and St. Louis.
And like, are we expecting zero injuries between now and March?
Of course not.
There are going to be teams that aren't desperate now that suddenly becomes suitors.
And I think that's why we've seen the tradition of transactions in the league that we have.
But you're right, Rhett, if you haven't asked and someone meets it, like move them tomorrow.
It's just clear that, you know, no one's offered them enough to be like, we're considering it.
We're going to have the chat with Nazim.
If someone says, here's two firsts and a prospect, like you're calling Nazim, you're not saying, no, call us in January.
And that's why I think these comments went off is because everyone feels that way.
But that's all well and good if they are in the mindset that they're willing to trade players.
If all of a sudden, no, we need more cadres, not less.
It's like, well, how the hell?
So you need to find the team and you need to find the deal and the cap money needs to all of the.
But if ownership is saying, well, these guys are important in the room, we need veterans.
It's a culture.
Then it's all moot.
It's like Jesus Christ.
Yeah, and we can think and believe that if what Don's saying is the mandate?
Like that's the fear is if Conroy is making phone calls and getting phone calls or whatever is like, okay, well, that would probably be a hell of a deal for us.
But I don't know if there's any way I'm going to be able to.
And again, I think you're right with the cadre one because the cadre, you don't have to trade them.
And the ownership can go, well, can we trade them next year?
Yeah, we don't have to make this decision now if we aren't.
Don't we like, will we get a better deal next year?
Is it going to be work?
Well, the answer will be I don't know.
Yeah, but it will be, can you trade him?
Yeah, I can trade him whenever we want.
The fear for me is that this team gets to like 24th place because that's when the, we'll punt till next year.
That's why Rasmus didn't get moved at last year's deadline when you saw inferior players getting large halls.
And maybe there's a great market for him again.
This year he's played really well.
That helps.
But now you have that nasty little extension conversation that has to be a part of deals if teams want to, you know, if you want to get max value in return.
Well, we would like to extend them.
But, you know, I don't think that the team wanted messaging of we're waving the white flag when it was mid-November and they still had, what, 30 home games left.
I think the messaging the team wanted was like stay the course.
The one thing they didn't add in their messaging,
which I think they should have,
was that, you know, when we get in the new year,
there are options.
If this continues down the path,
we didn't think it was.
Yes, because other teams are saying those things
and they're not getting roasted for it.
No, and that's been an organizational thing.
The only times they've ever rebuilt,
it was never by choice.
It was in front of their face so obvious,
the only way to proceed.
That's the way this season is going.
Yeah, they're going to,
are we at all concerned
so this is very
sportsy
Rasmus Anderson
to me it seems like he would
resign here if they gave him
the number he wanted
and vice versa
they would resign him if he would agree to the
number they wanted
is that the wrong message for us
dopes that are going
I don't want it
that means you're sticking to the
Yeah. It feels like that was the scenario with Hanifan.
They met the number.
But then at some point, he kind of, well, maybe that's just,
they were prepared to pay.
And I, again, Pender, you might remember what then, was it like 64?
Was it eight times eight or around eight a year on max term?
And in today's cap world, like, that's actually a fine deal.
Yeah.
But that's what they mentioned in the conversation with Deloni.
Yeah, where it was like we would like to have some of those goes.
Are they wrong?
They may not be wrong.
No, you'd be more competitive with them.
For sure, you would.
But again, like,
the less runway there is left in the season
and the lower they are in the standings,
the less I worry about them making mistakes.
And I don't think it's a problem that they want to resign Rasmus.
They might want them on a five-year deal at seven.
That would be awesome.
The challenge is carrying this guy till he's 37
on a max tournament nine.
You can't do that.
He's declining as your team's getting good.
and when your team needs to pay these kids,
your drafting high,
you're still paying a guy that's falling down
in your depth chart.
So just like we don't know what potential deals are there,
we don't know what numbers have been exchanged in great detail.
But yeah,
there's a circumstance where the flames like Rasmus back.
It's just not a deal he's going to sign.
It's not enough money.
Doesn't that just send a mucky message to you?
I mean,
I don't,
not necessarily because they only want him if he's an incredible value.
They don't want to pay him market.
So if you really want to be a flame,
shit, like we'll take you at a number where we can move you at any point.
I think they would pay a market.
No, they went this summer and talked and they were significantly apart.
And Elliot reported on Monday that there's still a huge gap.
They're not close.
And that's a good sign if you're on team rebuild.
They've stuck to their valuation.
Rasmus has his.
They're not close.
Yeah, I guess it sounds very well known because Hanifin chose not to sign.
Can you do both?
And the only reason I say that.
is because of can you can you be pointed towards a rebuild but say it still makes sense because if you look at the Haniffin thing i say we could have we could still be doing what we're doing but we'd we'd have noah an affin at eight million that'd be a good signing can you still be in the mindset we're going to get younger we realize we're a 30th place team but you look at the depth of our d we're playing jake bean and you know because netsoff has been fine but miram man off it's handley came off waivers the hall's been a waiver guy
Can we still get younger and better with Rasmus Anderson in our top four making,
like you say, if the deal isn't, if isn't an overpay?
Yeah.
I mean, yeah, you've got.
Could.
But it's not the worst thing.
I think what it does is if you find a deal where you're like, shit, like Rasmus
really wants to be here.
This is a hometown thing.
Now the pressure point would move to Rasmus because you're loaded with right.
Not to Rasmus to Mackenzie Weeger.
because you're loaded with right shot guys,
those are the two chips to play.
Like you could certainly,
I don't think they're moving both.
And Rasmus's deal has put him under the spotlight
and most likely candidate to move.
But if you someone got a sweetheart deal with Rasmus,
I'd start taking calls on Wigger.
That would be doing both.
Because you do need some vets.
Yeah, if you were going to keep one of them,
and let's just assume that both of their contracts
would end at the same age.
Right.
And that would be.
Same age.
Yeah,
whatever Uighers deal now takes him to,
late 30s.
and say you weigh that with an Anderson extension
that would take him to the same age.
Based on the player, assuming the cap hit is,
it wouldn't be,
it's not going to be six and a quarter.
Just player-wise, who,
which of the two would you prefer to keep?
You can make a good case for both.
I know.
If you're assuming same age, same contract,
I don't know, that's tough.
Like, I think they're pretty comparable.
They do things differently,
but they're sort of playing the same slot.
They're both kind of powerplay two, not powerplay one guys.
They both got some moxie.
They're both clogging up the right side where you have, you know,
Perek, Perstevich, Mews, all these guys coming on the right side.
If it was same same, I don't really have a problem with going one with the other.
The challenge is that you will not get Rasmus Anderson five years at 6.25.
And that's what's left on Uyghurs deal.
We're just kind of shooting the shit.
It's interesting because I don't know who's better.
They're having, though.
And I think part of it is.
do we keep, I mean, I think it's a long shot,
and I think they'll stick to their guns,
but there is an argument to be made
that you should resign Rasmus Anderson no matter what.
Yeah, we've seen a lot of UFAs.
You have plenty of money.
You don't have plenty of good defense.
You've seen UFAs leave where we,
it's been, no, you, there's no situation you resign this player.
You take, you take the cap money back and you let the player walk or you trade them.
That's Winnipeg.
This is resigning there, guys, because they're going,
well, we're not going to, how are we're going to get,
It's different because Winnipeg's had success.
But they're also somewhat similar where it's like,
you better keep your damn guys.
You're going to keep them.
Yeah, because, again,
they're not getting free.
They're not winning.
Yeah.
But then you're not utilizing those assets to turn them into potential game breakers,
which is what we're craving.
Yeah, because their game breakers are the,
Sheifleys and Morrissey's and Helibucks that they've extended and they're good.
I think the way that you solve this dilemma, if it is one, is you say, what's our three and
five year plan?
And then when you weigh the assets you would get for Rasmus versus where he is in three to five
years, you say, oh yeah, we have to take the futures.
Yeah.
See, and I, yeah, when you map it out, I think it's the same thing.
I agree with that, but they are going to internally argue.
Yeah.
Yeah, like if Raspus wanted to play on a six-year deal at seven million, I think it'd be done.
But it sounds like you want to max turn times nine.
That's the chicken deal that got signed.
I think we know, based on the info that the L.A. Kings had a deal that the flames were willing to take based on an extension for Anderson.
They're okay thinking about life after Anderson.
Yeah.
Right.
And the rumored package was like a first and a top prospect, which may or may not have been like Liam Greentree,
who's a really good prospect forward, big guy.
So just the more you talk about it, I just,
and it's why you can't have emotion,
as I just feel like I'm ready to turn some guys over.
Yeah, the fan base is for sure.
This is the hardest part.
You see them 30 seconds, you're like, do it.
And they're like, well, they might, but just give them some time.
Second round pick, you've been great value in terms of what we spent to get you
and what we've had to pay you.
If we can, again, move it forward and keep getting,
younger and there's no telling you could get a player as good or better than Rasmus with
a draft pick that comes back plus other things.
It just,
you sometimes I think teams are guilty and I think maybe this team has a bit just kind
of overvaluing what you've got.
So he's,
I don't know,
should we trade?
A lot of teams make trades and come out the other side.
So that was a good trade for us.
Think about the Lindholm deal.
Like they were not unlike Hanofin.
They were at a spot where,
you know,
the numbers were close enough that they could.
could have said, look, we need to do this.
And if he is saying, okay, I want to be here.
But for two months of Elias Lindholm,
the Vancouver Canucks gave up Gridden, Bristevich, like on and on and on.
It goes.
It was a five-pieceer.
They used one of their picks to move up in the draft.
They, like, it's, they, they, they got,
because Natsov, they've parlayed into Frost Farabby with some other spare parts.
Like, two months of Lindholm, how much better offer you?
Like, that, that deals.
a massive loss for the Canucks.
They need a gridon coming up right now.
They don't have one. He's leading rookie
scoring in the American League at 19.
There's like almost no 19-year-olds in that league.
He's top five in league scoring at 19.
That is a huge win for Conroy, and it's an
unmitigated disaster for the Canucks because
it didn't really work with Lindholm. They lost
Edmonton anyway, and he wasn't that
great for two months. That's the spot
they're going to be in with Rasmus.
Take the young assets, get lots
of lottery tickets, a few and we'll probably
probably hit. Florida today,
Panthers have dropped
two in a row at home.
They lost to Philadelphia on
Wednesday. It's a homestand.
They have been without,
it's kind of the news of the season.
We don't care, just don't pay attention
because they're really not putting too much stock into it.
The first 82 games that they will play.
They've had no Barkov, Kach,
all year long. Thomas Nocheck has missed the entire season.
Kulikov's been out for 21 games.
The Osterainen has been out for five and just got back.
So they're a plug and play.
We don't get too high or low based on regular season results.
They've been pretty steady.
Three and two in the last five, five three, the last eight.
They had a four-game skid in October and since then have been nine, six, and one.
Now, those aren't outstanding numbers, but they're above 500.
They're in the mix.
They're where they want to be.
We know they don't care about home ice.
come playoff times.
Just it's that
get healthy.
A chair mentality for them.
And that's not a shock.
This is a scary team for the flames.
Because despite the injuries,
do you know,
they've like piled up some goals
and some recent games.
I think they put an eight spot up
against Vancouver like a week ago.
They put an eight spot up again this week against Nashville.
We know the flames have a real tough time
getting to four plus goals.
I think they've done it.
like four or five times all year.
Yeah, 8.3 over the Predators, 8.5 over the Canucks, 6-3 over the caps.
That's the type of team that can give the Flames fits.
For the flames, not a great game the other night.
Who starts today?
I still kind of come back to Wolf.
We talked about, I don't know, again, we did.
14 hours of.
Pike should have this information.
14 hours of stuff we waited for, Pike.
Mat and A, no skate, I bet.
because, you know, Wolf played last game, but he didn't last the period.
Cooley played the two prior to that.
I just, it feels like you get Wolf in.
Not that it's, we need to, it just feels like it's an 82 game schedule, just put,
but Wolf in.
He hasn't played much lately.
Yeah, Wolf played in Vancouver, the first game of the road trip.
Then he was going to start the second.
Didn't last long.
Fair enough, yeah.
One guy's going to get three.
One's going to get two on this road trip anyway, so I would take the hot hand.
I'm not worried about usurping Wolf for his cold.
confidence getting shaken. There's five games here. Your backup's playing really well.
If he's not, you don't use him as much. He's, he's on a heater now. Use them. So maybe it's not
today. Maybe it's Sunday in Carolina. But like you're going to see more coolly on the road
trip at some point. Yeah. I,
I guess it's why I'm not coaching the team right now. If I was, I would be in that,
who gives me the best chance to win today? I don't know. Is it right now?
It's cool. Like long, big term? No.
It's not.
But in the last two weeks, it's not close.
The numbers.
Is there any concern about that?
There is, but not long term.
I think that goalies can have dips.
I think that young goalies get in big contracts.
Yeah.
He still had a bunch of gems in there.
It's just the bad ones have been particularly.
I think he came out of the gates playing too much and Cooley should have been in more.
I think it was all in blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Give him a breather.
I wonder what it would be looking like if Kooley was not playing well.
You know, if he if he was having that preseason.
I'll tell you how it would be looking.
We'd be trying to pronounce Ivan Presvetzov last year.
That's what would be happening.
They'd be the switcheroo.
There would, yeah.
Yeah.
So it's the road trip.
It continues.
They've got Carolina.
They've got Nashville still to come.
Big tank bowl coming up on Tuesday.
Are we getting together?
We're coming over here.
We're going to the game.
We're going to go to Tutsis after.
Okay.
I think I'm ready.
I think I'm ready.
15 games today.
Really?
Yeah.
Because there was none yet.
There was nothing yesterday.
Yeah.
Busy slow.
Zero.
Zero.
Anything else going on in this, as far as this game is concerned?
I don't.
It's an afternoon game in Florida after Thanksgiving.
I was going through the notes and like for Paul Maurice, he's, this is entering year four.
It's like, yeah.
It's been, so you've gone to the cup every year.
Every year.
Three for three, get into the final.
So that ain't bad, I guess.
He has, any guesses how many years he's been an NHL head coach?
He was young when he started.
He was in his 30s.
Yeah, he was a young head coach in 13.
I'm 23.
I'm 25.
28.
Wow.
28 years, only Scotty Bowman at 30 has more games coached 1,953.
with Scotty Bowman's 21-41.
So if he chooses to do it, because he will find work,
regardless if it's in Florida or elsewhere,
he will go down as number one in both those categories.
So Jack, were you dead when he started coaching?
You'd have been dead.
I would have been dead.
Yeah.
As a head coach.
Jeez.
Never mind assistance.
Lower levels.
You were really dead back then.
Really dead.
makes you wonder because he
he wasn't in
necessarily desirable spots
Hartford Carolina twice in Toronto
Winnipeg like it's not like you were
wow yeah you you coach Chicago
when they had Canaan and Taves or you coached the
Oilers when they had Gretzky and you know what I mean
he's he's got that type of
those types of numbers he's done for 28 years
and only just won the stem
Cup.
You ought to be a hell of a coach or somebody's got to be recognizing your
abilities to keep you employed.
Wow, he had chances.
Winnipeg had some good teams when he was there.
He was in Carolina, but they were underdogs.
Because the time Carolina wins, that's Peter Labulette.
He won the cup when they beat the Oilers in 06.
The other times he was there, no one thought of any Hartford Whalers.
They weren't going to win shit.
I don't think anyone really looked at Winnipeg.
Again, good team.
but I think if you're a coach and you don't win or you don't have runs of success,
it can, well, he's just not going to get another job again, potentially.
Yeah.
Like Hartford.
That was a lifetime ago.
Jack was dead.
Yeah, it's hard to even remember.
Did you even, were you dead when Hartford was alive when they were in the league?
I think he's fairly respected.
Not Jack.
What year was that?
What year was what?
97?
Hartford, 95.
Yeah.
Oh, 95, 96, assistant.
And then head coach.
Yeah.
Yeah.
When Hartford moved Carolina, Jack is totally dead.
He was head coach.
He coach 70 games that year.
So what's his?
It says out of playoffs, out of playoffs, out of playoffs.
Out of playoffs.
Right?
So at the start.
And round one.
Out of playoffs.
lost in round one, lost in finals.
And that's all with the same final station.
You got to remember Hartford went to Carolina.
That's a long run for a guy that missed a lot.
Five, six, seven, eight, nine.
So is that owner apathy or who else we're going to get?
Who else is going to come here?
I don't know.
Hard of it is we're moving from Hartford.
Yeah.
What are we going to do, change the coach?
Is it the coach's fault?
Plus, they.
But it's not a huge successful run there.
It's far more being out than in.
You're 500 at best.
Your five,
yeah,
your,
your records are not great.
Toronto miss,
back to Carolina,
you miss.
We see a lot of guys get better,
is they?
You know what?
But you're right,
a lot of these guys
don't get the second third chance.
He had to go to Magnitogorsk to get sort of it was.
Then what was the,
what's the Winnipeg story there?
Because he was there,
she's,
I didn't know,
he was there,
like one,
five,
six,
seven,
eight,
nine.
Wow.
Was he the first?
I don't know they had that guy.
Yeah,
they,
kept a dude from the Jets.
Did you hear that?
Is it probably happy?
There you go.
Claude Noel, right?
He came for, he was with the Moiche.
Noel.
Now they got Scott Arneill
is going to feel the heat cranked up a bit
is there out of a playoff spot in a hell of a month.
So it's a guy who's second in all-time games coached
and has missed the playoffs more than he's made it.
But I think you overestimate these guys' records.
Let's go to Lindy Ruff.
He's also a longtime head coach since 90s.
You know, he's been around coaching forever.
When Jack was dead.
He's never won.
Like, out of playoffs, out of playoffs, out of playoffs.
Yeah, I guess half of your seasons.
So is it on the teams for not moving on from guys?
Or what do we?
Well, you can be a good coach and have a bad team.
I don't think Ryan Husk is going to struggle to get work if he leaves here
having missed the playoffs five years in a row.
Yeah, I don't know.
Maybe I just.
Crafts respected.
When you think of Scotty Bowman, that's, there's wins.
Oh, plenty there for him.
Montreal.
In 20 years, when you think of Paul Maurice, you'll think about back-to-back
cups in the panes too.
Let's tell you the other thing.
You can look at it.
Where is Paul Maurice in terms of winningest coaches of all times?
Of all time.
Now, there will be, you've done.
it for a long time, so you're going to have a lot of wins. Anyway, moving on,
Paul Maurice's loving life there. It's been, Florida's been good to him. Cup rings,
sunshine. It's got a great tan. It's got a great tan. No lines. Yeah, he loves cats,
eh? Does he? A lot about him? He goes to the, uh, that's the PCA. The, uh, the parades there
and the celebration with the cup and he's got cats on his t-shirt. Loves cats, eh? I don't know
what the thing you're talking about. Scotty Bowman has the most.
wins.
Yeah.
Joel Quinville is second.
Yeah.
969.
Paul Maurice is fourth.
Lindy Ruff is fifth.
Who's third?
He skipped third.
I don't see.
It's weird.
AI.
I don't know if I can trust it anywhere.
Al Arbor.
Al Arbor, maybe.
Trots had 914.
But I mean, go through it.
How many Stanley Cups of Trots have?
One.
Quinville's got a couple.
Maurice now has a couple.
You know, so when you, even Scotty,
What did he have? Five, nine, but it was a different world.
That was a different.
Half the league pre-calf.
F in playoffs.
The thing with, you go Lindy Ruff, both he and Darcy Rageer were there forever in Buffalo.
That was just kind of ownership, put them in place and didn't change.
Same in Nashville.
They put the team there, Barry Trotsy, you're in, and he just stayed despite a losing record,
probably more than anything else.
And, yeah, Hartford slash Carolina, just kept Paul Morris.
in that spot despite
Winnipeg.
A decade in
Winnipeg, a decade in Carolina.
They've done it with Kevin Shevleday off, right?
He's been the only general manager
they've ever had in Winnipeg.
2.0.
continuity matters.
Like, you've seen teams that change your coaches a lot.
It's usually not a healthy sign.
John Cooper's been in Tampa a long time.
They don't lose much.
Invest med.
Don't tell them what you've been up to.
Yeah, I hope they're not streaming
I should be calling them and saying.

What do you think the young man in the background?
How's he tracking?
How's his diet and everything?
Diet, he's a spoiled.
There was a lot of gravy on everything I saw him eat yesterday.
He's a calorie.
I don't worry about him.
Yeah.
He's probably probably.
You know what part of the problem for the, for the,
him is the ontong.
Yeah.
Like, you don't have it.
Yeah, right?
Like, he ate,
I went and bought,
yeah, grabbed steaks when I was up there.
He ate them all.
It's like,
I'm happy for you.
Well, sad I didn't get a taste.
Yeah.
And, uh,
oh, look at the whipped cream.
He's not sure.
I was doing it, eh?
Are you into the whipped cream?
Yeah, he's hammering pie for breakfast.
What a legend.
Get after it.
Let's do the Pinder.
report, shall we? It's probably about that time.
Let me.

Now online at VillageHonda.com or head up to the Northwest
Auto Mall. We start with the Calgary Flames
and what's going on at Flames Nation. Now we did have the
breaking news you mentioned earlier.
Interesting that on the front
page of Flames Nation people still
digesting Don Maloney's
quote controversial comments.
Part two of that, because he did a part
tour with Eric. I figured I should do
two parts as well. Matinee
today, we've talked about that. There's
Weigs and Bennett, two guys that swap spots.
There is a lot of that. It's not new.
We don't need to tell you that Ryan Lombard,
McKenzie Weger and Jonathan Huberto used to play
for the Panthers, nor that
A.J. Greer, Sam Bennett and others
used to play for the flames.
But it is a matinee.
So make sure you book some phony bolognails
this afternoon.
Or maybe it's time to go out and run some errands at the pub.
Is that how you do it?
Well, run some errands at the pub.
Can't do it too many times because you actually have to accomplish something
when you're out doing errands.
So what were those errands?
I was like, oh, yeah, I went to the bread store,
but they were out of bread.
And then I went to the hardware store and they were out of hardware.
That's the word to be on that.
That you cringe.
So what did you do?
What did you do?
What'd you get up to today?
What'd you do today?
Ransom errands.
Some stuff.
Stuffy stuff.
It's real good stuff.
I went to get a snow shovel.
How are you feeling? You're just going to change the subject.
Yeah.
How are you today?
How about those flames?
That's what the state of PlayStation.
More from Pike.
He's been just bombing all over the place.
That's down, Pike.
This isn't a lovely little story.
Now, again, it's a prospect.
It's a freshman at college, but Ethan Wittenbach, who they drafted quite late,
I believe the fourth or fifth round.
Where does he play?
He plays at Quintapiac.
And who is he?
Bobcats, Dean.
He's a Wittenbach test.
He's in Wittenbach and Quinapeak.
He's out of a monster year, fellas.
This is the top 10 in scoring in the entire NCAA.
This is not freshman.
He's the only first year player on this list.
Guitar's tune, good, and firm feeling women.
Well done.
I don't need my name of the mark you.
What was that, Ryan?
Back to you.
Back to me, guys.
Connie's been drafting while.
That's another guy that you need to re-draft.
Those guys are brothers at the top or what?
They both play at Minnesota Duluth.
I imagine they would be.
Also of note three Michigan players in there.
Michael Hage at six.
He's the Habs draft pick.
Flames, go get him.
They have a million prospects and they need Nazim Gadry.
Shirt and ties choking me.
That's Horcoff's kid.
Right.
This high society.
What's that?
He's a penguin.
Have it a good start.
El Pinguino.
Hork.
Hork.
Last year's driving.
I had to hork last night because somebody.
There's more on Wittenback on the website regarding the Quinepiac Bobcats and freshman playing NCAA hockey.
We'll keep moving the schedule.
It's the five game roadie.
They are one and one.
They have three to go and they are in the thick of the toughest three road games they've had over the last four years.
We talked about it.
Two, ten and one now in their last 13 games in Carolina.
Florida and Tampa.
That's their next two opponents after losing badly in Tampa.
It's the matinee against the back-to-back reigning champs.
And then Carolina, who is quite good.
Never easy playing there either, seemingly.
So wrap the road trip in Tennessee.
Jack and his Lugan buddies, put the bird in the air, would you?
You put the bird near.
Burden here.
You told that story yesterday.
I did.
It's a good story.
I was sitting right here when I told it.
You've hardly moved.
There's the convenient is just to come here.
It's pretty good.
I think that's our snow day recipe, fellas.
Saddle up at Retzhaus.
Watch the young Lugan hammer pie and whipped cream.
Here's the lineup for the Panthers missing Kachukch, missing Barkov,
missing Nosec, missing Losterainen, missing Kulikov, missing Kulikov, missing Kul-Schint,
forever aflame, and missing tough guy Jonah Gajovich.
There's a lot of guys missing.
They're still quite good.
Sam Mascavitch is up to the top line with Lundell and Marcia.
Lendell's another breakout campaign.
Boquist, Rhaerigis and Reinhardt.
Go ahead.
Brad Marchand is on pace to nearly double his point total from last year.
He's feeling it.
All that vitamin D.
Vitamin D, Dean.
He's not like Zegris.
He needs the vitamin D.
26 points in 22 games, leads them in points and goals.
Now, yes, Barkov is out and Kach is out.
The rest of those guys that have been her name.
But isn't it nice to have someone pick up the slack?
It's not like he's sitting there.
his five goals and nine points in 20.
He's like, oh, okay.
Oh, do we need someone to step up and be a dog?
Well, I got that dog in me.
Be a dog.
The dog and the dog size of the dog.
With the fight.
We don't need any cats around here.
Meow.
Yeah.
We need more dogs.
We need more like a dog.
We don't need a bunch of cats in here.
Be a dog.
Be a dog.
Be a dog.
A dard eating ice cream.
I thought this wasn't.
I saw another highly tuned athlete just eating whipped cream for breakfast.
Good whipped cream.
He's youth.
They can get away with it.
Damn youth.
Brett, say hello to Uvis Balinski's.
Hi, Uvis.
I believe with a name like that, you're from Latvia.
Well, he's scoring today.
Thanks, Ryan.
Yeah, well, anything we can do to help the tank, guys.
I'm going to get that oddly named, that uniquely named defenseman in Tampa.
He scored about six hours after we mentioned him the other day.
So do.
Congrats to Ovos.
Yes.
Yeah.
Congrats,
buddy.
Uh,
we'll keep moving.
Goleys,
they did a real interesting pickup here.
De Niel Tarasov was a very highly touted young Russian net minor in Columbus forever.
They peeled him out of there and there's all your injuries.
But Bobber's still the man.
It's the last year Bobbers deal.
Huh.
That is not crazy.
Right.
It just felt like that was a lifetime contract.
Seven years,
70 million.
Left Columbus.
And while it looked like the worst deal in hockey at times,
he has two rings and it looks like the best deal in hockey.
Does he have a one of those who won the,
uh,
con smith?
Con smith.
Con smith.
I don't know what he does.
That's a good question.
No, Ben,
well,
McDavid won it the first year.
Oh,
that's a loser.
Yeah.
So no, he doesn't.
But hey,
that's something for this year, right?
Always got a second goals.
Connor.
So Teresoff was a goalie with another.
franchise, but Florida traded for him?
They added him.
It's just a sneaky backup because they've kind of run with veteran backups.
This is a younger guy with some upside.
Trade for goalies.
Spencer Knight was moved out.
They dropped him off the round.
If you need goal.
They had Stolars there prior to Spencer Knight when he was dealing with some off-ice issues.
Just being a lot of putting up there.
Trade for goalies.
It's F1 possible, Dean.
So hard to get goalies.
I don't know.
Maybe just call the abs.
They seem to know how to trade for goalies.
Weird.
Let's keep moving.
Big slate tonight.
What I'm doing?
Not at all.
Monster slate.
Jack, you cooking up a 15-leg parley?
Because we've got 15 games tonight.
I'm out of money.
Yes.
Oh, no.
Well, okay.
You're out?
I'm out.
I'm trying to say.
Bet responsibly.
You've got to be only wagering amounts you're comfortable to lose.
So I would recommend you don't wager on these 15 games.
We will.
Actually, it might be paid a today.
Jesus, Jack.
responsibly. We say it every goddamn day.
Some really good ones in here. You noted the hot streak that the abs are on, Dino.
The Wild have won seven in a row. It's the first time teams that have won six in a row or more have met in over six years.
McKinnon can hit the 40-point plateau with one more point. They've won 11 in a row and can become the 12th team ever with four straight shutouts.
They beat Nashville 3-Zip, Chicago 1-0, and San Jose 6-0.
I believe they've scored the last 13 goals in their hockey games against other
initial teams. Wow. Impressive stuff. Lots of hockey. There's only two teams not playing.
Now, Rett's been telling us for years how AI is going to take over the world and how smart it's going to be.
And then he really pivoted hard about six months ago and said, AI's dumb, it's peaked, it's over.
And I kind of believe them on both accounts because we've seen some really interesting stuff AI can make.
But I asked AI a very simple question today, who's not playing?
Well, the Arizona Coyotes aren't playing Dean, so that's one of the teams.
Tampa Bay Lightning, wait, Tampa is playing today.
Hang on, so not them.
Seattle, they're not playing.
And the Dallas Stars, apparently they're playing the mammoth, but that's not an NHL team.
So that's an error.
Dallas isn't playing.
Thank you, AI.
Jesus Christ, AI.
Like, my 10-year-old can answer this.
What are you talking about?
Dallas is playing Utah.
But the mammoth aren't a team.
That seems to be an air.
They are an NHL team.
They just missed that memo about the coyotes and the mammoth, maybe.
And they also didn't note Edmonton who is not playing today.
What the hell are we handing over our society to?
Oh, it'll be fine.
Holy shit.
I do like the correction rather than just deleting Tampa Bay.
Wait, Tampa is playing.
And the one team I knew when I asked Chad GBT, who wasn't playing,
Edmonton was not mentioned.
How is this hard?
You're a supercomputer.
literally look at the standings,
scan the games tonight, and deduct who is not playing.
They need, uh,
holy shit.
Yeah, they need some gigawatts and those cards.
What are those things that the Nvidia makes?
The chips.
More chips.
Chips.
Chips.
Is there any dip left over there?
Huh?
Is there any dip left?
Yeah.
Oh, I love that.
Big hockey day.
Sorry, Ryan.
Back to you.
A football day as well.
It is the sneaky Amazon Black Friday game.
What time is that?
Right away.
It's on now.
Kick it off.
What's the line?
Do you know?
Tell us what you know.
Well, it's been moving.
It was seven.
I've seen six and a half.
Is it back to seven now for the,
for the Eagles?
I think it's seven, yes.
Yeah.
All right.
It's just in the game now.
They're starting.
It's pretty.
They will kick off in one hour.
One o'clock mountain.
Flames are 2 p.m.
Mountain.
Again, I can't tell you more than
twice and it not be your fault.
Book a phony bologna meeting, run some errands.
It's a great sports couch,
snowy, soup, and booze day.
Yesterday we had three games.
We'll quickly run through them in chronological order.
The Packers stunned the Lions in Detroit.
Jordan Love was quite good.
And Dan Campbell continues to look
like a gambler chasing his debts on fourth down.
Like Jack.
He's out of money.
I'm out of money, man.
Hey, man.
I think it's a payday man.
Like I told you the press conference, we're going to go for it,
and we're going to bite people's kneecaps,
but God, we lost this.
What game we should have won?
Midday game was a thriller.
It was Dallas outlasting the Kansas City Chiefs.
The offense looks good.
The defense worlds better than what we saw for the first half of the season
after some ads ahead of the deadline.
And suddenly Prescott, Williams at the running back,
Lamb, and Pickens looks like a really tough offense to stop.
21 against a good Kansas City defense,
or 31 up against the Kansas City defense.
Nice.
Night game, Joe Burrow back.
He and Jamar Chase made the Ravens look ordinary.
A great robe.
I think it was a robe.
He was hard.
Oh, his post game was outstanding.
Really?
God, that looks cozy.
Jack, can you effort that?
Find the Joe Burrow post game jacket.
I don't like him at all.
I think he's a, I respect his abilities.
Yeah.
He's a good quarterback, but it does not look like a person.
He's not a everyday Josh Allen.
I'm just a regular day.
No. He's a.
He doesn't, I know they call him Joe cool,
but I don't feel like it's cool.
Like he is cool. I think he's trying hard.
Trying so hard.
I think he's very cool. He came from nothing.
All these other guys came from money.
He's earned the rights to buy fancy jackets.
It's come from nothing and ever.
You talk.
No, he's, he's a, go, go research it.
He's a guy that came from very,
I know you do, but that's okay.
You can actually find a lot of it.
It's a little borough story unlike every other quarterback in the NFL.
Look at this.
There's the drip.
You earned it, Joe, where are you want? Tell Boomer to screw off.
I just, he's, I mean, you take him, if he can't throw a football, the guy is a nerd, right?
I don't think he would like.
I don't think he's a nerd.
He has very good hiring practices for his home babysitting services as well.
Good work.
that was all the action from yesterday.
Nice jacket, Joe.
Finally, sales today.
Roads are tough.
From the hotel.
They were in.
That's right.
Well, buds, doesn't it?
Wasn't he on our trip to Nashville?
Oh, my God.
I swore I saw him a tutsis.
He did curly hair.
Weird.
Yeah.
Huh.
Well, look for some deals out there.
That's not a bad deal for Batman.
2497, Jack.
And that looks life-size.
So good luck to everyone finding a deal today.
for Black Friday.
I'm bad, man.
It's just a pin.
That is your Pinda report on this 28th day of November.
2025, brought to by Village Honda
with a huge selection of used vehicles,
all makes, all models, all budgets,
over 90 units on site,
and access to more than 500 in their dealer group.
It's your one-stop automotive destination.
Worth the trip, Village Honda,
located in the Northwest Automol, your dealership for life.
Nice.
Very nice.
Yeah, this is test drive and weather.
Sure is.
You want to know how a vehicle is going to perform when it's not great?
Well, it's not great.
So go today.
Don't take it when it's 25C in June.
Do it today.
See how it handles.
Jack, I'm going to put you on the spot.
Can we do a little bit of love for the top shelf elf?
Yes, sir.
I've kind of forgotten.
We talked about it on the Bontan meet stream yesterday.
About a three or five hour mark, wasn't it?
Christmas is coming.
And our friends at close to home are doing.
their adopt-the-family campaign once again this year.
Money raised through our auction goes directly to the charity.
The charity then distributes gift cards and gift certificates for food.
And then they go on and buy gifts for families that very much would not have anything on the 25th without it.
So over the years, we've called in some favors.
We've gotten some either sponsors or just friends of the show have made some donations.
And they've done it again.
and we have got a whole whack of things up at nationgear.ca.
It's got its own link, top shelf elf, 2025.
You click on it.
You'll get the full list of auction items that are available.
We're just under 12 days out.
So there is some time and there are going to be more prizes.
We'll be added to the website as they come in.
We've gotten some, hey, yeah, we're going to do something.
I'll just, so just some details around some of the others are coming in.
But these are the ones we've nailed down.
We went through it.
in great detail yesterday.
But yes,
Cody and Rhonda Snyder are back in with their VIP bull busting experience.
We got a full beautiful basics lawn care package from our buddy,
Gibi over at Green Drop.
There are two game day experiences for ATB financial.
Each one is for a different flames game.
You get 25 seats in the press level plus food vouchers.
It's a drink, it's popcorn, a hot dog, and ice cream for 25.
So two games.
one is, well, the dates are there.
You can click it.
So there's number two.
There's two different ones.
I know there's two different ones, but I don't know if they have the date.
Oh, look at RW.
That's, I wonder who that could be.
I'm sorry.
That's amazing.
That's weird, right?
It is weird.
I don't know how that could be anyone.
Yeah.
Sneaking in there.
It's probably Rick Westhead.
That's who it is.
Friday, March 20th versus Florida.
And then there is another one in early March against the Ottawa
Senator.
I believe is the date of that one.
There you see another RW.
Where do we see it?
It's nationgear.cair.ca, rat.
How do you see R&Ws and stuff?
Well, yeah, it's weird.
They star out the email address is only the your first one of traditional.
There's the storewall prize pack.
That's like we're talking about with dregs.
I've got it in my garage.
They've come, they put up the, like the slat wall.
It's flat to the side of your garage.
Awesome.
And then you get the, you know, the attachments.
Well, here's, and so many different ones like this one's for,
might hold your bike.
This one might hold your extension cords.
This one's for your leaf blower pinners.
Bins.
Yeah, that's sort of a thing.
I've got my, yeah, my recycling bins.
That's how they're, uh, they're doing the thing.
Can you do a little scrolly poo there for me, Jack?
Sorry, I know you're sitting back.
I like the show's over with Mike from Starwall yesterday.
What a beauty.
There you go.
Yeah.
Launchpad.
a couple of sweets for up to 12 people.
They got food.
They got a gift card.
They got range finder.
A whole big,
they got massive price pack from Launchpad.
The Vinova credit match,
Justin has said whatever the top bid is,
up to $1,000.
But whatever the top bid is, say,
say Jack with all of his dough,
I'm going to bid $500.
That's going to get you $1,000 of credit at Vena Nova.
Wow.
A credit match up to $1,000 of a bid.
Game Day experience from the Calgary.
surge, court side seats and a jersey
to go and watch the surge.
Those games are fun.
Jack's hands cold. He's got to have them in a sweater.
He can't. He's starting what's going on.
He's watching gritty on the TV.
Yeah. What's going on up there? Hearing
Loss Clinic is in a basket of goodies
plus the custom
sleep hearing
ear plug type things for
maybe you've got somebody that's roaring
beside you. That is up for bid.
We've got the Calgary Stampeters home over. It's
four tickets in the red zone. They got four
sideline passes for the pre-
marking passes to tailgate.
Pass to go on tailgate. That's awesome.
The Calgary Flames experience, you're going to be
able to go, there are four
second level seats to a game
coming up for the Flames.
And the morning of, we'll
go and have a little visit with Craig Conroy
and watch Morning Skate. How good is that?
Great pack. Thanks to Conroy
and the Flames for coming through on that one. That's
pretty much our top bid-getter.
And if not, it's right near the top
I think it is the top.
And Dean, it's noted in there.
Just a quick follow-up.
People are asking, well, what game is that for?
How do I know if you win it, we'll work with your availability and Connie's to make it happen?
That's right.
Cailin and-
Trade deadline day.
That's the day.
That's not a good answer.
It might be busy.
Obviously, Craig has to be in town.
That's where it starts with.
It's what is his schedule and then on games that he's in town.
You'll work towards that.
So I guess in that respect, it is a little bit vague, but I would think you could understand
that it's still very much a unique and worthwhile prize for sure calgary fc they're in a regular
season game in the in the sweet seats we meet and greet afterwards yeah meet Tommy or a player
so that is in and the barn burner experience is back we kind of forgot it last year i guess uh
it's just again i just don't know why anyone would pay for it well there it is climbing in price
RW on that one I noticed.
A behind the scenes experience for four people.
Come on in to the Barnburner Studios ahead of time.
We'll show you how the sausage is made.
You can watch the show.
Are we doing it here?
I don't know.
Well, it's up to you.
Watch the show live and then afterwards.
We'll head out and grab a bite to eat.
Have a nice little launch and launch after the show.
A little Barnburner merch for you there as well.
So that should you choose.
All I say is, it's for charity.
It's for families.
So keep that in mind.
We're going to have one go up today for Village Honda.
They're in with some flames tickets, a detailing package,
some got some gear, some swag.
It's going in.
There's a couple other big ones that are coming down the pipe as well.
So go to Nationgear.ca.
You'll see what's up.
You'll see the bids, make your own bid,
and check back regularly because more will go up.
And it was brought to our attention yesterday.
It's a great point because I'm stupid.
And I didn't remember to do it.
We're going to put up a donation link to some people.
Well, I'm going to bid, but then if I don't win, then I'm not doing anything to help the cause.
I'd like to just at least, at the very least, help the cause.
So we're going to work on that as well.
It's way over my head.
I sent an email yesterday.
It should be up today.
So it's just a matter of, I guess the government wants to be able to track funds and stuff.
You got to show.
They're always in your damn life, Dean.
Get out of my life.
I don't know if that's accurate.
it.
I believe that we just need a lot.
We need clarity as to what money is coming in,
where it's sitting, and then where it's going.
But that will go up as well.
So again,
appreciate everybody for potentially joining up that way as well.
We've been very fortunate.
I said on the show when we first started,
oh, there's a podcast that wants to make maybe a donation
or something to the adopt a family.
And then it's like, oh, this was going for,
year one was over 20 grand.
And it's been between 20 and 30, I think, every year.
So doing my math, with this being year four, we should,
we get over the $100,000 all in over the life of the top shelf elf.
That would be, that'd be decent.
That'd be all right.
And, you know, you deserve a pat on the back.
You take a lot of the work behind the scenes on this,
and you've made it something that's a priority rate from season one.
So tip of the cap to you, the old honey dripper.
Yeah, that's the heart.
Your heart grows three sizes in December.
Yeah, with...
cholesterol and plaque.
It grew a little bit yesterday.
I tell you, I felt this morning when I woke up.
Was it too much? Like, I was going to ask, but I felt off
if I requested you to make buns again today.
Yeah.
Dollarized double day? I got a, yeah, I got things to do today, but.
I mean, I'm glad you guys.
The kid with the gravy? Yeah.
Love the bun.
I'm glad you guys liked them.
But I feel like I, it's like watching those games.
Like, oh, they were good.
I still don't know if we've hit.
I don't know if I've played a 60-minute game yet when it comes to buns for you guys.
He's really a hard grader on himself, right?
He is.
Those were,
they were fantastic ones.
I'm impressed.
Now I can't eat buns from the store.
Oh,
no.
So I have,
that's a lot of,
it's a lot of pressure.
It's a lot of pressure now.
24 buns a week.
Yeah.
It's not too much to ask.
You've got it dialed in,
so it is kind of dialed in.
You're not really.
Yeah.
So just,
I'll show,
I feel bad for Pinder because he had to go and do kid duty.
When I was back, the buns are there, but they just weren't hot.
But the fresh out of the, you kind of just let them sit for five minutes or so.
Jack was doing the basting.
He did the butter basting.
Yeah, I did.
You know what I did?
I put one of those ribs in the bun.
Oh, yeah.
Of course you did.
No wonder they disappeared.
Yes.
It's so good at like one in the morning.
It was great.
I had lunch, went and lived my life, came back, and it was dinner time.
And I immediately made two massive bunwiches with the turkey, the sausage,
bores and cheese, get some hot sauce on there, fresh bun.
Oh, it's good.
We say it all the time.
I honestly believe that the day two is more often than not better than day one.
That gravy just does.
It's got more time to sit and come to the meat.
Let's take a look at our picks.
Let's take a look at our picks.
We don't need to.
And you certainly don't need to pay attention to them,
but we do them because it's fun.
And that's what Bet365 is.
all about whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet
365. Games yesterday, the one NFL
game today, we've got hockey on the go.
It's never ordinary
at Bed 365.
So there's off left to right. Is that fair?
So there's the records.
I have yesterday's games
picked because I was not going to do well.
I'm in the last place. I'm 10 games under 500.
And last week I went full opposite George
and nearly went 0.3, if not
for the Eagles blowing a 21 point lead.
So I am completely at a loss here.
I'm going to take both LA teams.
The Chargers, they are laying nine and a half points
against a bad Vegas team that just fired their offensive coordinator.
Gino Smith's no good.
I just don't think the Raiders are good.
The charges will take care of business there.
Rams.
Staff, Daddy.
They're in Carolina.
They've been an unstoppable force of nature, arguably the best team in the NFL.
They've got the shortest odds to win the Super Bowl.
I'm going to lay the 10 points there.
And I like the Houston defense, rat.
They've flexed against the bills.
they've had a nice little 10 days since they last played.
It's a divisional game against Indy,
and they're getting three and a half points.
I think they keep it close.
Is Stroud back?
Yep.
Yeah.
Stroud is back.
Is he back?
Okay.
Well, that's what it said on my fantasy.
Yeah.
And he's on my team.
Did you just beat the bills?
They're coming off 10 days off.
Good luck, Ryan.
I dated in Chicago.
The Bears.
Getting seven.
In Philadelphia.
I mean in Philadelphia.
Yeah, that's right.
Pretty was very close.
What's happened, even in hockey here, the home teams,
they were sitting around yesterday eating in Turkey and crushing gravy,
and they're not doing well.
Evens were no good.
Lions were no good.
The other team that was home was no good, yeah.
Dallas.
I'm going with the bears on the road in Philly.
Nice.
Houston, yes.
I think they had a couple extra days off.
after an impressive beatdown of my bills.
That hurt.
I keep betting Jacksonville.
I don't know why.
They could have.
Did they screw me last week with a push or something?
It shouldn't have.
Who are they playing here?
They are in Tennessee to play the Titans.
Oh, they're bad.
Titans are awful.
Titans have been better.
Barn, burn.
That'll be.
They've been a little better here.
You go shovel that driveway, son.
The bells, you've got to go throw.
Josh Allen is going to be pissed.
Yeah. He needs, he wants to get back on track.
People in Buffalo are wound up.
And it's against the Steelers in the show where I can do.
Side bat jacks can have to cook me supper.
And Denver, Denver, I think is a good team.
They've got good defense and they're going to roll.
Did Pinder hear the, was that on the main show or was that on the after show?
I don't think Pinder was here.
It's all the same.
Pinder, they've made a bet that the loser has to cook the winner,
dinner of their choice.
You get to make three different menu items and that the loser gets to choose which one,
but has to cook the winter dinner.
That's a hell of a deal.
And I don't know what Jack's chops are, nor is budget, but it is payday.
And I think, Jack, you're in a good spot there.
Rogers just announced we'll be in this week.
Yes, let's go.
I was, you know what, you stole a bit of my thunder, but I'm with you 100%.
What did we see yesterday?
road teams not sitting at home not maybe have another glass of wine or maybe I'll have another plate
which is not to say that the road teams aren't having but I think they're a little more disciplined it's a team meal
they're not an overindulging they're probably just don't have all the family members and I'm taking all road dogs
Houston in indie to play the colts I think the colts there's so much gravy so much right like they're in that part of the world that's good eating there
I'm going to take the points on the road for the Texans,
three and a half.
Arizona, old Jacobi Brissette, he's been pretty good there.
The cards are in Tampa Bay,
getting three and,
you know what, it's three and a half now.
Can I get three and a half?
I just went back into.
Yeah, if it's there, you can take it.
Did I send you three?
Was it three or was it three and a half?
Oh, you're such a.
That's fair play, but as soon as you lock him in,
that's what you get.
It's three.
And I'm looking right now, it's three and a half.
I'm getting the hook.
So, yeah, I'm even happier now with the,
with the Cardinals on the road getting three and a half.
The New Orleans Saints are getting five and a half in Miami.
Just all the drugs and stuff down to Miami, those dolphins,
they're party of turkey and blow.
So give me the Saints, getting the points.
And the Vegas Raiders, they're not good,
but you know what, the Chargers?
Boy, I don't know.
This has a point over under a 40 and a half.
Is it going to be a little low scoring?
nine and a half on the road against the stuffing filled red wine drink and chargers.
That's my strategy this week.
Road dogs getting points.
Let's go.
The old lose big charges.
That's right.
I'm with you, Ron.
I'm taking both L.A. squads.
The Rams look unbeatable.
They're playing Carolina playing 10.
I'll take them.
And then the charge is coming off an ugly loss.
Was it, Jackson?
By. Ugly lost then the buy.
Probably lost by.
I like the nine and a half.
I'll take them.
And then San Fran playing Cleveland.
San Fran's got to keep winning.
This NFC race is tight.
I'll take them minus four and a half.
Staff daddy.
Staff daddy.
Good picks, boys.
We're all going to win them all.
Oh, I'm so happy with that.
So I'm out.
Boomer's going to win with Vegas and Jack there are going to do with the charges.
We'll start that out later.
Unbelievable.
Or at worst case of push, which, you know, whatever.
Nine and a half.
Don't know how, but yep.
We'll find a way to do it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What are you looking at?
I'm just looking at the games on the old sched.
How are you feeling about your bears today?
I don't love it.
Right.
I mean,
but as far as getting a week,
I think it's going to be tough.
Eagles just blew a 21 point lead to the calendar.
Well, that's the thing.
I can't run the ball.
Let's not do that again.
We had a 21 point lead.
maybe just don't soil ourselves this time and we'll take the victory.
Bet 365, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
These are just, and again, we do this point spread,
and Jack was trying over-unders and that didn't really work for him.
That's just scratching the surface as to what you can do inside the Bet365 app
for player props and 15 NHL games today.
That's right. That is correct.
Coronado shots, hit that.
He's on a massive shot heater.
The one game first went on with the bubble after the face thing, zero shots,
everything else is like he's averaging like four and a half.
There you go.
Crazy.
Do we have anything for that game or?
I didn't put it to Jack, but I've taken Coronado over two and a half,
which is a line of laddered him to four, five and even six just because he's hit six
twice in the last five games and three seems like a breeze for him.
It's been good.
Yeah.
Goals potentially.
What did you?
Oh, we'll see who's starting a net prime.
that bet, but yeah. All right. Fair enough. Fair enough. At 365. Well, we've done a lot.
Heavy lifting. Big thanks for Greg Keller at Bontan Meets, the official sponsor of our
God bless you, Greg. Of our stream yesterday, which like most things that we do, we didn't have a
whole lot of thought or consideration put into anything before we just do it. We did do it. A lot of
And it worked.
We think too late about doing something and then,
I guess we're not going to do that.
We did do it.
So thanks to Greg.
The thought was,
I guess just at the very big,
well,
there's football and we could just sit and eat
and watch football.
And I guess we could just turn the stream on.
So that's just hang.
That could be a thing.
And then we had guests coming by.
Oh,
it was,
and then we ate again.
And then we ate again.
and it ended up being it was not it probably would feel again like it was the plan or by design but that's giving um
that's what's all right um it we went 12 hours 12 12 12 plus what we did before that yeah which was another hour because i got out of the seat to be like well how far we and it was like 58 59 12 hours even on the nose boom end it
I don't want any of us to think that sets a precedent.
No.
I know we're doing this again next year, which is American Thanksgiving,
eating turkey and food and watching football and doing a stream.
I want to do it again today.
I know.
You can.
You got sports.
I've got the sports.
I don't have the supplies.
Yeah, leftovers running thin.
Oh, yeah, there's not many.
I went at it last night.
Yeah, I had a little bit extra last night, too.
Yeah.
Maybe you just start out with.
pie and whipped cream like your athlete's son.
That is interesting there was more of that left over than gravy or meat.
A lot of sweets.
They were good.
I tried both pies.
They were excellent.
The pumpkin was awesome.
Pekan was very good.
Whitcomb was great dean.
Bons are great.
Maybe I'll do a pecan pie next year.
Like a home daily.
You do whatever you want.
All right.
Don't drop the ball with the buns.
If your buns go down the shitter because you're making a pecan pie.
that's not.
Stay focused.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're a power play specialist.
Okay.
Just your buns guy.
With your strengths.
Shoot the puck.
You're not a 200 foot player.
Just go to the net.
Dance with the one you brought, Dean.
We'll bank him in off your fat ass.
No super chats today.
That's on.
We had one and it fired.
We had it done yesterday.
We did have a bunch yesterday.
But someone will text.
Probably.
But we appreciate you.
Even though it is American Thanksgiving,
we're very thankful.
This weather is perfect for doing nothing.
It really is.
So I got hanging out here all day.
No, that was, because I do, uh,
unless you're going to mop the floor.
Has there are a home today?
Oh dear.
That's,
you've got to push that back a day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What's that?
The fridge has, uh,
been emptied a little.
The kitchen needs a little clean up the,
the,
the washroom on the main floor.
Just got.
absolutely assaulted. I don't know who did that, but it's a scene in there.
Well, there's a few culprits.
There's a lot of potential suspects in that case.
No question.
And I guess, so now next week we're doing five shows all like studio.
Like that's the first week of December.
You already starting to talk about Christmas vacation.
Maybe it's time to just kind of scale back.
The first week in Christmas?
No.
It's Christmas time.
Snow's on the ground.
Snow's on the ground.
I've got a busy week.
Temperatures dip.
We've got the fancy party on Thursday night.
We should probably take Friday off, Pender.
You'll be in no shape.
Yeah, but that's when I'm at my best sometimes.
Oh, you're not.
No, you think you are.
Yeah, you think you're great.
On over and punchy.
Or shit.
Yeah, you think you're great the night before and the day, the next day.
I have great confidence, Rhett.
Then your eyes start to hang out of your head a little bit and your face gets droopy.
Some Bell's palsy starts to set in.
It's not great.
Not great. Party of the year next Thursday, right? We'll see you there.
Plus, we're going out one night to see a guy tell jokes or something.
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to be going. I'm going.
Are you going? Pinder, are you going?
I'm trying to grease my way into a suite. I think we're over 50-50 of this point.
But it's not done.
Gotcha.
crease your way into a suite.
I'm working at it. We'll see if we can pull it off.
Don't bet against my grease abilities. That's the one thing I'd warn you, Jackie.
If it's on 365, don't take the under.
Yeah.
Pinder has no shame that way.
No. Some people will, well, I was, I'll just, if somebody invites or reaches out, he's very proactive.
Hey, are you guys going on your suite?
You know one lap on Earth, Dean. Do the things you want to do.
Hey, so you have that sweet.
Things happening.
Boy, that's, it could be quite a night.
A sweet. Did you know that's really funny. Yeah, I love his jokes.
I love that comedian.
Oh, who me? Oh, I'm a huge fan.
Long time, huge. Oh, last year.
But I celebrate his entire catalog.
Coming to town?
You don't say.
Oh, well.
No, I'm not busy.
I mean, I could probably clear my schedule if we'd be.
Bigel room somewhere.
Probably fine.
Are you flying private to Seattle?
I mean, you got you taking your own plane?
Well, that's weird.
Huh.
Six-seater?
That would be like.
Oh, six is a lot of, that's a lot of seats.
Wow, nice.
Yeah, oh, B? Huge fan.
Love the Blue Jans.
No, you know what?
Celebrate their entire catalog.
I mean, Ross, I don't think I'm going to make it this year.
Yeah, you know, I go every year, but this year.
Flight prices are through the roof.
Tough trying to, you know, with the kids.
Inviting yourself into a suite.
You're the worst.
I'm trying to grease myself into a suite.
I'm being honest.
I could have spun you some yarn.
Appreciate the honesty.
I do.
That's why I tell my kids.
kid.
So what happened here?
He'll take the breath and then, well, no, I didn't do it.
Okay, well, I'm not happy about that, but I appreciate that you're not trying to run me around here.
I do appreciate the honesty.
Thank you.
Hey, Dean.
Yeah, bud.
Have a great weekend.
You got a big weekend plans, don't you?
Yeah, I guess I'm heading out of town.
I just got a big email about it.
Did you?
Fancy.
I looked at some of this stuff.
Red Carlin.
Oh, you're not in the mail.
The mountains.
Go to the mountains.
Can this?
Oh, yeah.
It's going to be gorgeous.
To get there.
I'd hunker down.
I do, like,
December trips out to the mountains with the snow.
I do,
I do love it.
Just tuck in right behind one of those snow plows.
Way you go.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right, buddies.
That's it.
I have a weekend.
Hit that button there.
One word of caution.
If you are going to watch,
last yesterday's 12-hour stream,
just if you could drink,
with a program so it makes more sense at the end.
Don't watch the end sober.
Thank you.
Yeah,
don't,
well,
it's a good thing you brought it up.
Like with a novel,
right?
You don't,
just don't go to the last chat.
Long 12 hours.
It's so long.
If you don't make it all the way through,
don't feel bad.
Yeah.
If you commit to it,
if you're spent,
well,
you know what,
I'll say this.
We appreciate people that were along for the ride.
Mm-hmm.
If you're spending your weekend,
listen to that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I do.
Yeah.
It was,
It was every time we'd go to see, is anyone watching?
There's way too many people.
Why are there so many people?
There's more people watching, but we appreciate you.
God love you.
We appreciate you.
Jack it out of my house.
All right.
See you, buddies.
