Oh, yeah, Friday.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Rett, we are looking good.
Look at this.
Hey, white T-shirt day.
Screw you, January.
Get out of here.
What was that noise you had for January?
Flat bleep, January.
Get out of here.
The fit and Feb.
Coming at you.
Fancy.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm going to shave.
I'm going to go to stash.
Oh, yes.
That's a good.
Feb move. Well, we did the clips
the day of my birthday. I'm like, God, I look good
with a stash. You got a, you looked really
good. You've got like fire chief
slash sheriff level of some
mustache. Facial hair
February. There it is.
Hey. Figure it up. Let's go.
Welcome to Barnburner on a Friday.
We're going to have some fun today. We got our NHL
insider Darren Dregor swinging by. The Flames
finally played a game this week. We'll get
into that a little bit. Trade
rumors are heating up like crazy around the
NHL and 30
teams played last night.
Records were set.
Teams are in trouble.
Other teams are rolling. We're getting into all of it.
It's brought you by our great friends of Bet365.
Thanks for bringing the show to the people,
Bet365.
I hope you jumped on that Sabres minus one and a half.
Oh, for sure.
It had plus 205 last night.
Oh, wow. I love that.
Money line, puck line, player totals,
overunders, futures.
Basically anything you can think of.
You could bet.
Remember, Jack, we asked you to you could go in and place a wager on the Steelers next time, coach.
They got it all.
If you want to join the program, you got any bold predictions for the rest of the way or any trades for us?
Attached a little money to that comment in the live YouTube chat and we'll throw it on the show.
All the money goes to the youth centers of Calgary.
Two of them helping youth in higher risk parts of town.
That is making our city a better place.
Tip of the cap to the youth centers of Calgary.
Let's go get it.
We are live with them Cloud Law Studios.
how are we feeling today?
You have not eaten for probably 35 hours.
Yeah, I'm fine.
You're good at it, but it does put you in a different state of mind.
Yeah, I think it's just my sleep is more of my effect.
How my state of mind today is based on lack of sleep more than.
When you're hungry, do you sleep?
Worse.
Yeah, that was the question.
Jack, you've been, he's actually pretty good at the fast too.
That's my problem on a fast, though.
I can't sleep.
Sleep's important.
I'm a horrible sleeper too.
Yeah,
you're listening to boomer level sleep thing yesterday.
Sleep is important.
It's good for you.
There was a book that came out like why we sleep or something and it just listed off
a billion reasons why it's important.
I'm like how many years was I waking up at four or something?
Oh,
did I just like shave a decade off my life.
I don't know how guys did that.
No, we can build it back.
It was a terrible existence.
Yeah.
You lied to yourself because you're like, oh, I'm done early.
Yeah, I've done earlier.
It's going to be great.
It would be great.
And then you're just like a zombie all day.
Like, death person.
She's like, yeah, sweet.
This is so great to be done so early.
Yeah.
Did you guys stay up and like watch the games at night and then go in early?
You'd have to.
That's crazy.
Like maybe you get the odds swings for horrific.
Yeah, 830 pucked you're up in L.A.
Maybe you'd get like the odd six nothing through 40.
You're like, thank the Lord.
Like, just shut her down.
Like, this is over.
There's a subscribe.
They went to Anna.
Yeah.
When they went to the old Honda Center, the Arrowhead Pond, whatever they're calling it back then.
It was just curtains.
They were going to get pumped on another one.
The Grand Jersey's last night.
I sent it in pre-gear or the pre-show.
Yes.
I love the old beauties.
Hardford in action last night.
Great to see them.
The Nordiques.
They're struggling right now.
Really?
Order in jerseys.
The Buffalo Goathead was out.
The savers.
Oh, right.
Your savers.
We're going to have to.
We're going to have to go to Buffalo without Boomer.
Well, and we're also going to go to Buffalo without Boomer.
Well, and we're also going to go to go to.
have to do a little bet three six five and i think on the sabers uh okay okay jack do when we get to
the top of the table we'll do a little perusal through the sabers futures maybe right
where where do we like it is it because i think right now you're going to there's nowhere
even close to even money than making the playoffs so like they're seventh in the league you're going
to get like minus 250 on them making the playoffs no value there when the division's interesting but
tampa's kind of roll i wouldn't i'm talking make the eastern conference final man it's
It's fun to talk about them that way.
Oh.
If Ocapuka.
They're probably thinking ad.
Yes, they absolutely are thinking ad.
And if you're Yarmal Kekalina and you're like, look, we're on a heater right now and this team's good.
But like, how good could we be if I add like a Panarin or somebody?
Not to say that that's going to be a destination for Panarin, but that kind of a move.
It will be interesting to see, as we've discussed previously and had different takes.
if the sabres are good, are they now a destination?
And I don't know if destination's the right word.
Yeah.
But who is a free agent has signed there for anything other than the whole?
Take the most money.
Oh, yeah.
Like we saw that when Pagula bought the team.
It was famously like Christian Airhoff, horrible deal,
Villaleno, horrible deal.
But they're like, we're taking the money.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Oh, what in the hell is that?
Flat, fuck Friday.
This is, there's your McLeod Law Studios right there, boom.
Shave.
I know you, uh, Friday, you're a loser.
Hey, how are we doing?
What's going on?
Well, we need to check in because, uh, it was a fantastic video you made for Rett's 50th,
which was, uh, thank you for that.
That was awesome.
You had Connie come on right after.
We all had a big laugh.
And, uh, the one thing I was worried about, A, it felt like there was a couple
issues that were arising. You asked for the blended
margarita that looked like rocks and then second of all
the paella. The pools, they've got to vacate the pool if there's
any accidents in there. Did you survive the paella?
Touch and go, boys. It's been a touch
and go kind of week.
I, uh, you know,
you got to, uh, you got to, you got to,
you got to be careful out there. You know, it's, you're in a
different world. You're in a different country.
You got to be, uh, make sure you don't drink the tap water and all that
sort of thing. I've done pretty good, though, I think.
You know, safety first. That's always
been my model. Hey, fellas?
Yeah, that seems like you. Sleep first
has been your.
You get some Zets? Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, we're getting some Zs.
Kind of, you know what?
Getting into a rhythm now.
Feeling it. Getting into the rhythm.
Get up. A little coffee.
I enjoy, have you guys, are you familiar with the
Oho Rojo? Yes.
Yeah, creamy little shit.
Love the Ojo Rojo in the, in the morning.
It's like your climato with a little bit of Worcestershire, some lime juice, and then some beer.
Just to kind of.
Okay.
I was thinking of Baja Rosa.
That's what I was the way.
I know what he meant.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
My bad.
Yeah.
It's like a red, I think it's red eye is the translation.
Yes.
A little Ojo rojo.
And then you're going to get into, you're going to inevitably get into your margaritas.
I found that.
the the Patron Blanco is the go-to for me as far as the tequila's concerned.
And then mid-afternoon shots.
Oh, shots?
Yeah, just mix a couple shots in, eh?
And with your, that whole thing?
Yeah, salt and the lime.
I'll tell you what, though, boys, it makes the guy tired.
You do need to lay down shortly thereafter, yeah.
You're in Cesta season right now.
That's what you're doing.
If you're doing mid-gay shots, you need a nap before dinner.
Because you're for sure going to hit the-
Can I go this way?
Because you're for sure going to hit the nightclub, so you get a nap in.
That's right, yeah.
It's been a bit of a bummer boys.
It's not a big night-life here.
It's a lot of old folks, a lot of gray hairs here at this place.
So, you know, I've had to keep my party vibe down a little bit.
Yeah, you're young bucks, hey, with those old people.
So what do we do?
Are we here to party?
They love karaoke here.
tell you what.
You know what, to me, what it is, remember, I would always say,
why don't you guys take calls, take phones, go phones.
It's like phones are, it's like relying on somebody else to do the,
the entertainment and do the content.
Karaoke's maybe fun.
That can't be your evening entertainment because it's terrible for everybody else that
doesn't do the karaoke.
So, okay, let those people karaoke have something else, some kind of a, I don't know,
they did some fire stick flinging fire and,
and that whole thing.
Which one?
It's a lot of thing.
I have a video.
Jeez.
Yeah, it is.
I don't know how to it, boys.
Yeah, got a cabana today, I think.
We're a cabana something on here.
Is it nice and hot?
Not really.
You know what?
It's just perfect for a guy like me.
That's great.
25, 25-ish.
The major's not too much.
Yeah.
Yeah.
See, also the major isn't.
isn't, uh, old major swass isn't hanging around all the time.
He shows up at time to time.
But luckily there's a pool.
Have you left the resort?
Yesterday we did.
We, uh, they offered some kind of, uh, hey, you know, it's part of the room thing.
You can go for on a three hour, whatever.
So they went and they showed us some chocolate factory and some tequila taste.
It's good.
Mm-hmm.
It is.
Yes.
It's a Mexican chocolate.
It's a big deal.
Yeah.
It's a big deal here.
It's a big, the cacao.
The caca, the caca, the cacaa or whatever it is.
Sure.
Watch yourself.
Yep.
A whole bunch of that kind of stuff.
So, uh, you know.
It looks like you're ready to get back to Calgary, Dean.
Yeah.
It looks like your.
A few more days, fellas.
Few more days. A few more days and we'll be back there.
But, um, how was the tepaniaki?
Oh, yeah, the restaurant.
You know what?
Disappiport.
They don't have the Teppaniaki going.
They have the Asian restaurants open.
Dekemecate.
Tekebecu.
Or I think it's called us, whatever.
You just get your ass out of that resort.
I don't like what I'm hearing out of this.
Okay.
D.S.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, they actually have a big setup for it, but they're not doing, I don't know if they're, uh,
or you're not, they're not worth it.
Maybe I'm not worth it.
They're not calling you senior boom.
Senior boom.
Senior boom.
We got to do another trip.
Don't we?
We got to do another trip.
Why don't you? I'll stay here.
You guys just go on here.
We'll come down.
Jack and I did a trip to Jasper.
We haven't even, we haven't even unpacked Jasper with, well, we got the Olympic trip coming up.
So I got, Ellie, passports.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All be going to be so jet lagged.
I'm just going to get home from this trip and then jetting all the way there.
It's going to be tough.
It's going to be tough.
You are a jet sitter.
I'm sure there was a screen somewhere last night and a massive audience to watch, like, game number 57 for the flames
or whatever.
Minnesota is a big draw.
Minnesota on Thursday.
Yeah, there was a lot of questions about
Codry, what do we do with Codry?
Oh, yeah, I was holding court.
Yeah, good.
I was holding court.
Can you let us know what you're doing with Chondry?
Actually, I was asleep and forgot all about it.
I woke up and check my phone.
It's like, oh, this game, oh, boy, what are we going to talk about?
This game is terrible.
It's all right, they were playing who?
Oh, the wild.
Yikes.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They at one point were out shooting the wild like 13 to 3 or something and down 2-0.
It's 21-8 after 2, wasn't it?
This is not the way you want it to go, although it is kind of the way you want it to go.
They're January, 2026 has not been their year.
They played 13 games.
They have three wins.
And in over half of those games, seven of 13, one goal, that's it.
Nice.
That's how you do it, boys.
And I don't know how much, when you're on vacation, I watch you.
stay away from the show.
But yesterday, we hit the first overall pick on Tankathon.
Vibes were elite at the end of the show.
Yes.
Wow.
I know.
Because, yeah, I turned it on one day and vibes were not elite.
Like they went, you know, fifth or sixth.
It was not great.
Yeah, well, and Jack was extremely hungover Monday.
Rhett was an absolute waste of space Tuesday.
I was bad Wednesday because we had the poker tournament Tuesday.
Good show yesterday, hit first.
And now it's, it's flat bleep Friday with Hawaiian shirts.
We're feeling.
Rosie saved us.
Rosie was great.
He was good.
Nice, Rosie.
Leafs look good.
Yeah, leaves look good.
Talk to you, buddy.
You should send him a note with the beach in the background, say, are you joining me?
Oh, boy.
David O'Cis, you got to go to Cabo.
Poor tree.
For a tree.
You know, I just wants to have a physical brand of hockey.
That's all a guy wants.
And it's not really worth out for him.
It hasn't worked out.
He'll be okay.
The Carlo and Lawton deals continue to get worse.
Not only is their first round pick going to Boston this year.
It's only top five protected.
It looks like they're going to pick six to ten to Boston.
And Fraser Minton, suddenly a top line center for Boston,
point per game over his last three weeks.
Ah, is right.
You got to give something to get, right?
That's what they say.
Yeah, you got to give a little to get.
And they got Brandon Carlo.
Why don't you do some perusing over the next couple days?
Because I know you don't do anything when you're on the beach there.
Just chill in.
Check out some Sabers vibes.
Because I think we've got good things happening here.
We're talking cup or bust.
It is quite impressive.
Did I see the fans of Vancouver were chanting,
we want the cup last night?
Like the crowd was chanting,
they were down to nothing or something.
No, they were up to nothing.
They got a sense of humor.
They got a rare one.
at home and they just leaned into it.
That's great. I like that. No, I saw it was like the hottest run ever for the Sabres,
like ever. They're an absolute wagon and they were entering play last night,
seventh in the league and won. And Alex Lyons set a franchise record for consecutive wins.
They got another hat trick last night. This time it was Alex Tuck. He's talking about winning
cups in his post game, not making the playoffs. Josh Donan just signed a very, you know,
I want to be in Buffalo type deal for a long time.
Like, I don't know how you could have a big of a 180
in 12 months than what they've been.
12 months.
Three.
There were three games under when they passed through here.
Kevin Adams.
He doesn't want to talk about those.
Kevin Adams.
Before, I see Draggs is there.
I want you to talk to drinks.
I wanted to say, I was looking this morning.
The elevate auctions.
Kelsey Snow is doing, she did it.
I think it's the year two or three.
She along with the Calgary, North Stars Association,
Calgary, they're doing a, it's a kind of a week.
weekend festival coming up in the seventh and eighth, I believe it is, not this coming weekend,
but the weekend after.
Raising money for ALS, remembering great Chris Snow and his memory and raising money for a great
cause.
They've got a bunch of auction items there, and one of them is the Barnburner Experience.
It's one of the top bids, guys.
It's just the most ridiculous, stupid thing.
There's, I mean, there's things that are way more valuable than our stupid thing, but it's
over a thousand bucks already, so that is awesome.
But go to our socials.
You'll find the links there.
You don't need to bid on our thing.
You can't if you'd like.
There's all kinds of stuff there to help support Kelsey
and obviously celebrate Chris
and a great cause in ALS research.
Snowy strong.
Thank you, Dino.
Enjoy the rest of your vacay.
We'll see you next week.
Hopefully.
Who knows?
Yeah.
plumbing and heating, your crystal clear choice for home comfort, 403-19, 40, 100, or simply go to
crystal clear Calgary.com. Dregs, it's Friday. We talk to you Fridays. So happy Friday to you.
Happy Friday to you guys.
I was texting you yesterday thinking about Friday, sorry. I was a little frantic.
Normally 1230 on Thursdays is booked. I do Marty Baran and Brian Duff on Sabres live,
but they had other stuff going on.
So I had been punted off the show yesterday.
So I had said free time.
But by the way, fellas, I'm a camera guy.
Like, not that I, I'm not a photographer.
I'm not looking for the bird in the tree, that sort of nonsense.
I'm more of a candid shot guy.
So, you know, we're sitting in a pub together and there's something funny going on or you're choking on a chicken wing.
That's me taking the picture.
Perfect.
I'm that guy.
Yeah. So anyway, I just sent it to Boomer. I don't know what look he's going for on vacation.
I don't know what that is. I don't know. Like, is he in Turkey? He should be because what is going on?
Jeez. Like we're. That is Senior Relaxo Maximo. That's who that is. That dude just rolled out of bed.
Anyway, I took a picture. I'm like, okay, man, what's going on here? So now it could have been.
Now I understand if a, the barn burner experience is, it's, it's all encompassing, right?
You're going to expect the unexpected.
There's no spin polish on it, Craig's.
It's just as it is.
Authenticity is what we brought herself on.
That's, and that's not always as pretty.
Don't try and be somebody you're not.
Just stay in your lane, be yourself.
I get it.
What's a better story to talk about the Sabres?
You're going on with Marty and Duff.
So their whole attitude has to have changed.
They're playing a parade route.
That's what you got punt.
Or the Leafs and their debacle.
Wow.
Calgary probably in some small way is relishing in what's going on in Toronto.
I mean, it's always East versus West, right?
And then you've got the Trillivan connection back to the Calgary Flames.
You know, it's borderline impossible to explain how this team has just unraveled in the way that they have.
You know, and I mean, look, there's simplistic hockey elements.
that aren't being observed.
And last night was part of that.
You know,
not to just pile on Anthony Stollars,
who's just fresh back off a long-term injury.
But, you know, it seems like every mistake of late
is ending up in the Toronto net.
And that was certainly the case against Seattle.
And that would be demoralizing.
I mean, and again, I'm not trying to pile on the goalie,
but right, you've probably been there where, you know,
you're just in that rut.
and a small mistake, just automatically poof.
You know, one play, two plays later, and there it is in the net,
when it can be, okay, somebody stands in on a shot block,
or you don't turn that puck over on the half haul,
or your goalie makes a save.
But one of those three things has to happen in order to not go down the road
that the Maple Leafs are on right now.
So it's a tire fire, it really is.
And based on volume, we know every Canadian market,
you know, we in the media, we get her teeth out every once in a while.
The claws come with it and we expect answers.
Just based on volume in Toronto, it's coming from all corners.
And they're 10 points out of a wildcard spot.
So they deserve the heat that they're taking right now.
We went the last two days at length about this, talking with noodles on Wednesday about how you fix this.
Is there a fix or is this like all of a sudden we're looking at a major pivot?
Who's even the guy to do it?
Do they trust her to do that?
if they haven't liked what they saw in the last six months.
And then yesterday, Rose still came in and basically said,
it's been the same core forever.
And this core has shown you over and over and over again,
that when the games are at the biggest and they matter the most,
sometimes they just don't even show up.
And that seems to be more often than the signature performances you'd expect from stars.
So where do you assign blame and how in the world can they fix this?
Well, it's a hard one to come to terms with because you need all hands on deck and
everybody on board to accept.
if you believe what Jay Rose Hill is saying and that this is maybe not a leadership,
but a core issue, right?
And I can appreciate that argument.
I mean, this collective group has been together a long time, long enough where, you know,
look at McDavid and Dryside.
I mean, at least they've helped the Edmondson lawyers to back-to-back Stanley Cup finals.
Toronto hasn't even come close.
Now, you can play the what-if game.
You know, what if they eliminate the Florida Panthers last year?
You know, maybe things are different for the team.
But they didn't.
They didn't do that.
And so I understand what Jay is saying.
But who's making that call?
And I'm not belittling Brad as general manager of the Maple Leafs.
But when you are considering trading a core piece,
and let's just cut through the BS.
You're talking about Austin Matthews.
You're talking about the captain of the team.
You're not doing that in season.
You do that in the off season.
You know you're going to get a boatload of return.
But is the fan base going to be okay with it?
And then by extension, ownership.
You know, where's ownership's position?
Because there wouldn't be a general manager in the league who could pull off a deal like that of that magnitude without getting full clearance from ownership.
Sure.
It wouldn't happen.
So beyond that, and that seems highly unlikely, are there other pieces?
Sure.
You know, can you go to Morgan Riley and say, we need to, you know, we, we, we, you've had enough time.
It's all working out.
You have a no move clause.
you do that only if you've got a partner willing to take on the contract of Morgan Riley.
Otherwise, why would you do that?
You're not going to go to the player and say, we want to trade you.
Are you interested?
No, you bring one or two options to the player and say, these teams are interested in you.
Do you want to change?
Are you willing to consider it?
And then I think that's more likely than not is management targeting a guy like Morgan Riley
and saying, are you, you know, here's the interest.
we have, does any of this interest you?
And I don't know that you can do that between now and March 6th.
That might have to drift the end of the summer.
So then you're talking about the easy stuff, making a decision on Bobby McMahon,
making a decision on Scott Lott and Carly Yarncroke, Troy Stetcher.
Those are the unrestricted free agent guys.
Yeah.
Okay.
And so I agree with you.
Like when flying the wall in the room is interesting because we have questions about the core.
Flying the room in the coach's office is interesting because, you know, they brought
Barruba in to play a certain style.
And this team is as far away from Craig
Ruby hockey. So that's interesting.
The GM's office is interesting for the reasons
we just talked about. But what you're saying and what I agree
with is it might be the fly on the wall
in Keith Pelley's office that might be the
real telling fly. A number
of different reasons too, right?
I mean,
with a trade of the significance
of moving even a core guy.
You know, again, that's being run by Keith
Pally and ultimately
ownership. But then as you
alluded to earlier. You know, Brad Trillings been looking for a top six forward since, you know,
the rumblings around Mitch Marner, the Carolina Hurricanes debacle last year, all of that, right?
Now, I don't blame him for not being able to find one, but I would submit that other teams find
good players and players that fit into, you know, what they've built. That hasn't been in the case here in Toronto.
It really hasn't been.
But I don't see anybody out there right now.
You fire Brad Trilliving today.
Who's coming in that's going to replace him?
Is Rob Blake better?
I mean, I don't know, maybe.
But Rob Blake is going to deal with the same assets that Brad Trilliving is looking at right now.
But to your point, I think, Ryan, and how this, you know, creeps into the office of Keith Pelley,
if you believe that a full rebuild is necessary here,
and you're willing to tackle with the top of the food chain
from a player's standpoint,
then I think it's fair that you have to have those questions answered.
You're either on side with Brad Trillivring being the guy
to navigate you through the next phase, whatever that looks like,
or you're not, or you're not.
and you fire Brad.
You know, nobody is telling Brad Trilliving out of manager Toronto Maple Leafs,
nobody, including Keith Belly.
He may have opinions on things that he would like to see,
but he's not commanding or demanding at this point.
So any fundamental changes like that, I think, are probable,
or more likely, if not probable,
if this team misses the playoffs in the summer than anything else.
Okay, let's move.
alluded to it off the top.
As bad of the news is in Toronto,
it might be even more
positive and euphoric in Buffalo.
Walk us through how the Sabres got here
when they came through Calgary
and I think early December and November,
they're under 500.
And now it's like don't extension.
Red hot.
Goalies are all playing well.
And Alex Tuck's talking about winning cups,
not making the playoffs.
How do they approach the deadline?
and is Tuck going to resign there?
How do you view that chip that Yarmu Kekyllian has to deal with?
Well, I mean, given where the Buffalo Sabres sit in the Eastern Conference standings,
I can't imagine you consider trading Alex Tuck.
You know, you can't replace that player.
And I'm sure that Yarmo and the agent, the Bartlett,
have had a number of different conversations.
They're just not at a place where they're making progress,
but that can change very quickly.
I mean, Yarmal probably needed time.
to really overall assess the roster, not just how Alex Tuck fits into that roster.
And because he owns the player, he has time and his side.
And, you know, Yarmu is a history of going down this road before.
It didn't work out for him when he kept Brabowski and Panarin back in the day in Columbus.
But he did it because he believed in the group, wanted to bring playoff hockey to the Blue Jackets and its fan base.
It actually felt like they were a contending team.
you know, and there's probably, you know, enough ground to be covered here or has been covered
where you feel pretty good about the idea of extending Alex Duck even after the March 6 trade deadline.
So there has to be less concern overall in the bigger picture of that scenario.
Why is Buffalo playing as well as they are and have gone on the run that they have?
Hey, let's give credit to the group that we often criticize and that's the players.
because they are the ones getting the job done here.
The goaltending has been largely solid, if not better than solid.
Borderline terrific.
You know, they had Josh Norris back healthy for a stretch.
He's day to day.
And for me, that helped Lindy Ruff stabilize his lines
and give them a strength up the middle of the ice.
So now you're talking about good goaltending
and you're talking about line combinations that work,
that have chemistry and you're strong at center.
I mean, those are the principles for success.
And I haven't even talked about their blue line,
which is also kind of cracked into line here over the last number of games.
This has nothing to do, in my opinion, with a firing of Kevin Adams.
This is more, maybe that was part of a wake-up call.
I don't know.
But the players are recognizing, you know, we're a pretty good group here.
We just need to start playing that way, and they are now.
Yeah, fair enough.
Are they an ad team?
I think they could be.
I do.
And again, I think that I look at Yarmouka-Kalainen and his track record.
And, you know, granted, he learned from the mistakes that he made in Columbus.
But, you know, if you feel like you have a need, why wouldn't you utilize that?
It sounds like he's got full endorsement support by Tara Pagula, the owner there.
So as long as you don't do anything disruptive.
But I honestly, right, I think we're past that phase.
You know, it wasn't that long ago, to be fair, we were talking about significant potential moves.
like Owen Power being in play and players like that.
And maybe we still are.
I mean, you can still make big trades as long as, you know,
you're making those trades believing that you're upgrading in a certain area.
I wouldn't be surprised if they add,
but maybe they're looking throughout their lineup.
And there's a difference between adding because you're trying to upgrade
and a difference in adding because you've got injury issues that you have to backfill.
And that might be more of the need,
more of the necessity by Yarmel K Kalainen in the ad leading up to the deadline.
Good point was made on socials last night.
It was like, okay, so they're having a great run.
Lots of teams are feeling good about themselves in the Atlantic.
A lot of teams are on good runs.
When you look at the east, I think Tampa's absolutely in.
I think Carolina is absolutely in.
After that, it does kind of feel like 10 teams for another six spots.
Like maybe Yarmal is looking at this saying,
I don't want to waste this position we put ourselves in.
we know we've got a good chance to deal with Tuck.
If I can bolster this group and make sure we get in,
I wonder if you've used this as a huge opportunity.
Don't let this slide through your fingers.
They had that 10-game winning streak like four or five years ago
and then poof it was gone.
Don't let that happen.
This group's feeling so good about themselves right now.
Yeah.
And oh, yeah, it's been umpteen years since you were in the playoffs.
14, yeah.
Throw the fans a bone.
They have to make it.
They have to.
agree with that and I think they will
I think they will as well and I think it's a reason
why Yarmal can be comfy this isn't a
spot of desperation as you know they don't have to
backfill a ton of injuries like we're talking about
with some other teams like Toronto like
they're in a great spot they are going to get Norris
back soon yeah and they
look like a legit good team you said
it goaltending spine of the roster
depth yeah add to this group
and I think you're probably getting a checkmark
pretty I just I don't
obviously I'm a fan of the savers because I play
there and look there and blah blah blah
and they've been drafting and missing the playoffs
and putting these guys together.
I don't know what the cupboard's like,
but it sounds like now they have a bunch of goalies
that are playing well because that was like,
these guys aren't playing very well.
Now it's,
I mean,
it feels like they've got assets to move out
to bring guys back if needed.
Absolutely.
They do.
And, you know,
we don't truly know what the trade market is
in terms of the players that are available.
And that doesn't mean you have to be a true seller.
You know,
to go back to the Maple Leafs right now,
They take it on the chin yet again last night, right, to kick off their road swing.
But they're still not a defined seller, at least according to the general manager.
You know, I mean, Bobby McMahon's a hell of a hockey player, man.
Like, this guy's getting paid.
Like, could you not big guy can skate?
Like, I can envision him being a nice ad, you know, I mean, was that long?
Well, people were talking about, hey, I wonder if Alex Tucker would look good with the Maple Leafs?
What about the Montreal Canadiens?
Okay.
Maybe Bobby McMahon would look good with the Buffalo Sabres.
I mean, let's go.
And what I'm saying is just because we as insiders,
put out our trade bait lists and have all these players on that list,
we're not even skimming the surface.
Those are just the obvious candidates in play.
There's lots of things that can transpire between now and the second of March.
But I do think that there would be added incentive from Yarmot's seat.
I mean, you've got Columbus pushing.
Philadelphia Flyers lost handily last night
That Bruins team is no joke right now.
Bruins, yeah.
No joke.
Like, I watched that game last night
because a good buddy of mine, his son,
Maddie Potra, got called up from Providence
and had a hell of a game I thought for the Bruins.
Fraser Minton in that line,
those guys are wired right now.
And they're dealing with injuries in Boston as well.
So you've got the Bruins there.
You've got Columbus.
Philadelphia is still nibbling.
You know, Florida.
Florida's in trouble.
I told you to talk to Billy months ago.
I know.
I think you're going to make it.
Well, and they're getting their best players back soon.
That's the reason to believe in Florida.
It's not what they've done through 53 games.
It's that they might get Barkov back with a little bit of runway.
That's what scares you about Florida.
Never mind some of the other guys they've been missing.
Montreal, it was the youngest team in the league.
I have far back.
Six.
They got games in hand, but they're eight back in the playoffs.
Yeah, they've got a, there's some heavy lifting there for sure.
Yeah. And again, like if we're just talking the math, like you're going to play until mid-April,
so you've got two and a half months, can they pick up an extra three wins than the team
they're chasing over the next two and a half months? Absolutely they could.
But it's just so many teams like Washington, New Jersey look dead in the water.
They're not like they're a hot run away from getting in. It is fascinating in the east.
And I wonder if the biggest chip of them all doesn't stay out in the east. And it sounds like
there's about half the league that really wants Artemie Panarin. That just means.
it's a really good player and it's not close to getting done in my mind because everyone would be
better with him and whether it's an extension or as a rental and he has huge control over the
process with a full no move like this one to me has the feel of like Marshan and Boston,
Drew and Philly or if he wants to just pick one spot, he can really handcuff the Rangers.
Absolutely.
And his preference, if not demand, is to get the extension.
We've heard four years at around 11 million per.
He's a 34-year-old man, still thinks that he's got at least four more good years ahead of him.
And if that's true, then that number is valid.
That number is fair.
Not many teams, contending teams in the East would be able to stomach it, maybe a couple,
depending on how things work out.
Carolina Hurricanes are always in these sweepstakes, right?
And Tom Dunn has proven that he with Eric Tulski now, as general manager,
they can get stuff done.
And we saw that, you know, in first acquiring Mika Raton and then ultimately trading them to the Dallas stars.
But talk about big game hunting.
It doesn't get a whole lot bigger than that.
So it'll come down to more about whether Artemey Panarin sees the fit and wants to play that style of hockey in Carolina.
The Washington Capitals are a player on Artemian as we talked about an insider trading.
The LA Kings have interest, but they'd prefer more of a center than a winger.
Bit of a long shot.
Of course, San Jose was Celebrini and Will Smith, and they have tons of cap space.
But, like, what if Panarin was willing to roll the dice?
And look, you know, Paul Fiofano, who represents Artemi Panarin, I'm sure is having conversations
with clubs across the league.
And there are teams that are probably saying, look, we like the idea, Panarin.
we just we can't make the full deal yet so we'd be more comfortable as a free agent
target and then you've got Dallas who fits now Dallas you know they've got Jason
Robertson expiring but how fun would it be if if you're Dallas to go okay he's a he's a
pure rental but we're going to bring him in here and we're going to make Jason Robertson work for it
right we've got one mega contract to give and it's going to the best
guy. Is that
Panaron? Or is it
Jason Robertson? Robertson they'd have the rights
I suppose so they could trade him.
So you're right. I mean, there are
all kinds of fascinating
potential scenarios and possibilities
when we look at Panarin.
Is there any
I mean, I know that's the
first cutoff for the trades. Do you think there's going to be
stuff done before that? Are the
GMs and players wanting it done
before Olympic break? Does it matter?
Is it patient still a virtue?
Yeah, I think we are going to see activity, plenty of activity between now and February 4th,
the Olympic roster freeze because of the obvious.
And the obvious is when the freeze lifts in February 22nd, it's going to be organized chaos between that and March 6th.
And not just the obvious, you know, the trade deadline stuff, you're going to have agents and general managers,
more of the general managers somewhat in panic
trying to get certain players extended.
We've already seen contract extensions
of some of the bigger guys,
but we talked about Alex Tucker earlier.
I mean,
if Yarmo isn't going to get that done anytime soon,
I would think he'd want to get that solidified before March 6.
Again, just to take the distraction away.
Take that storyline out of the equation
because Alex Tuck and everybody associated with the Sabres
is going to have to live with that question from media
until they're eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoff.
So that adds an added twist to what we're going to expect in that 12-day window.
And then look, I mean, the Rangers sent out yet another letter,
you know, pleading with their fan base to be patient
through another retool, rebuild.
And then they take their star player out of the equation, you know,
until the Olympic break.
Well, these, you know, fans are paying 300 bucks plus a,
pop to go to Madison Square Garden to watch what exactly from the New York Rangers.
So there's a lot of factors that come into play between now and the break.
When you see a guy get scratched that far ahead, like it's probably a week out from the
roster freeze.
Yeah.
I think the first reaction from fans is to say, oh, this has got to be close.
Like they're preserving the asset.
Yeah.
But the number of teams that you just mentioned and that we've heard mentioned and the different
types of scenarios, the trade control he's got, like, I don't know.
It doesn't have the feeling of.
imminent from way far away.
And, you know, are you going to let this fester over the whole Olympic break and then
into the end of Feb?
Yeah, that wouldn't be ideal for anyone.
And I wonder if, if Artemite Panarin doesn't steal page from Rasmus Anderson,
where you wake up and you go, all right, it's Sunday morning, enough of this nonsense.
I'm calling it.
And, I mean, it was masterful work by the Anderson camp to revisit that.
because, you know, he went from engaging with Boston on an extension to go,
nope, I'm not signing an extension with anyone.
You know, and then Connie just looked at the best deal.
And I'm sure Vegas had to sweeten that deal, but they make the deal, right?
Because, you know, it was called at that point.
All chips in.
Let's go.
This is over.
And maybe Panarin does that.
Maybe he goes, okay, here's the team I'm going to.
Because my agent knows that the extension dollars are going to work.
I'm going to get it done.
I'm not going to move twice.
So stop dealing with all of these other clubs.
It's that team or nothing.
And I'm going to free agency.
And that would probably get Chris or, yeah,
Chris Curry's attention very quickly and would probably expedite a deal.
Just to go back to that, the Rasmus thing.
We love our tinfoil hats around here.
We love a good conspiracy.
Yeah, why not?
No, Claudelemaeusy agent for Rasmus.
We always heard that Vegas was a preferred destination,
if not the number one destination that Rasmus liked.
Is it too crazy to think they went way down the road with the Bruins?
You know, Connie was obviously happy with the offer.
That allows them to negotiate just to say like, hey, we think we're worth X.
This is what the Bruins offered us, knowing that they were always going to Vegas anyway.
But like, hey, Kelly, this is market rate.
Like, we're not negotiating like what we think he's worth.
This is literally what we were offered two weeks ago.
Yeah, that's called doing your due diligence, right?
And a few players have that flexibility and the leverage to do that.
Most often, you're legitimately an unrestricted free agent.
And that's what the agents for the better players do,
even when they're negotiating with their own clubs on contract extensions.
They go, okay, well, you know, that's why I look.
I mean, the minor thing, Darren Ferris, you know,
played the Toronto Maple Leafs the way he had to.
He had no interest in signing an extension with the Maple Leafs
because he didn't know what the open market was.
going to provide.
And because of everything that had happened around the family and all that,
the player was comfortable leaving Toronto if the right fit was available.
And yes, that ended up being the Vegas Golden Knights.
So I wouldn't question the integrity of either Claudeleaubue or Anderson.
I'm not saying you're doing that.
This is the business side of it.
But I don't think that Anderson engages with Boston to the extent that he,
he did unless he was legitimately interested in the Boston Bruins as an option.
But I think what happened, though, was when Anderson essentially grew fed up with all of it,
right, then he delivers that message to Craig Conroy.
And Conroy probably went back to McCremant and said, okay, now I'm dealing him as a rental
player.
So I understand that I've got to take less than I would have got as a sign in trade.
but your deal isn't the best rental option that I have.
So I'm going to need you to bump it even a little bit.
And that's probably what happened to get the deal done as quickly as it got done.
How are they approaching Cadrian Coleman?
You reported two weeks ago that you thought the report,
it's probably the wrong word.
You alluded to the fact that you think the Cotton Camp would be open to a move.
I don't think any players camp wants to publicly say we want out.
and I think the flames have been a little leery with guys with term to try to push them out.
But this seems to have opened the doors to conversations that might have been more difficult without it.
Is that fair?
It's fair.
Yes.
You know, Calgary is happy to go to a contending team.
You know, the issue is, you know, does he entirely control that process?
And the answer to that is, no, he doesn't.
He doesn't have full-no trade protection.
you know, Conroy and the Calgary Flames need to get a valued package for Cadry.
The market at Center Ice is thin.
You know, again, I think of the Dallas Stars.
They like the idea of Cadry.
They don't like the term remaining on his contract,
but that's their own circumstance because of Jason Robertson.
So let's see how the market develops around NAS.
And, you know, the team wants to, they do want to do right by the veteran player.
but I think that this is going to be amicable.
And if I were betting, I would bet that it's more likely he gets traded,
just based on the level of interest.
Coleman is a little bit different.
You know, Cadre is excellent with young players.
You know, Blake Coleman, you know, Michael Backlin,
we've talked about those two guys on this show.
You do have to have quality players that are left behind
that are appreciative of the situation
that the organization is in and they're willing to embrace their role as leaders and help
the young players get to that next level.
And those two men are happy to do that.
So I think I stand pat on this.
I know those names are out there.
Certainly Coleman's name,
not saying he's not going to be traded.
It's just going to have to be in your perfect deal for Conroy to consider.
Here's another name, fellas, that I'm sure you've heard.
But I know there are teams primarily in the east.
that are intrigued and interested in McKenzie Weeger.
And that one's curious, again, because of the contract.
And, you know, I would look at a team like Ottawa,
if they're hoping to bolster their defense.
What about the Detroit Redwigs?
You know, Eisenman is a general manager who never shows his cards, ever.
You know, we've talked about and wondered why they wouldn't have had interest in Anderson
because we know they need a right shot defenseman or want one.
but it speaks to the level of term.
Detroit is specifically looking for non-rentals.
They want guys with term,
both as a right-shot team end
and as a scoring forward.
So they'd like to,
maybe they can make a heck of a deal with Calgary
because they want a little bit of definition
at Center Ice as well.
They want a top two center.
Do they have enough assets to make a blockbuster
for Uyghur and Congress?
to Detroit. I don't know.
Well, and that's $13 million cap space.
I think we're expecting the claims for the return that they would be happy with.
We'd probably be asked to eat some salary on Cadre.
And that helps that term issue a bit if it's five, not seven, for example.
But there's not a lack of interest in the caliber of players,
but some of the contractual stuff does make it a little trick.
I don't really know what a good return would be a four-weger, Connery.
Because I know what there's players with Boston.
Isn't that why Anderson didn't end up in Boston?
Because he didn't have the contract.
So if I'm Boston, I'd be like, well, right shot.
Right shot.
Yeah, yeah.
Similar.
And I know what he's going to cost me.
And six and a quarter is not a bad number.
He gets more on that in the free market if he's an eight free agent.
Agreed.
And to be clear, again, I always feel like I have to qualify these things.
I've been told that Conroy is listening on Weinger, but not super eager to trade him either.
But if you're listening, then you're open and really what you're doing is looking for offers.
And then you make an educated call at the end of the process or nearing the end of the process of whether or not there's a deal that's certainly worth your consideration.
He's got, he's like a lot of these teams.
He's got assets that he can deal with or just keep, like, Weager or White Cloud.
Well, you don't do both in my opinion.
Yeah, I agree.
I trade White Cloud for sure.
I would.
Just.
Yeah, one or the other.
Well, and if you like Weiger at six and a quarter, like White Cloud under three has a cup, tough.
Not the offensive ceiling of Weger, but I would think a better defender today.
Three years ago, they're both good guys.
I mean, I was great.
Yeah, good teammates.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Interesting.
What else?
Is there any other names before we let you go that you think are sneaky in the weeds type guys that if they get traded, we'll all go wow, but maybe behind the scenes you're hearing moron?
No, I mean, there's been a bit of a lower level buzz around Shane Wright in the Seattle
Crack.
And I'm sure you guys have seen that.
Yeah, it's young centers.
You don't see that often?
Yeah, I mean, he scored two goals lost at the expense of the Maple Leafs.
But, you know, good on coaching there.
I mean, the kid was frustrated, right?
He wasn't earning time on ice.
He wasn't producing.
And probably late last week, they decided, okay, well, let's just shake things up a little bit.
and they put him with Schwartz.
And Schwartz has got him going now.
He's got him going.
And we saw further evidence of that last night.
But I would say this.
You know,
my sources in Seattle tell me,
whether it's Shane Wright or somebody else,
they've done a decent job of drafting at Center Ice.
So they do feel like that's an area of strength.
And they want to,
they want a top six scoring winger.
So, you know, Seattle's, you know,
we've talked about it on the show.
I mean, Seattle's a market.
They feel like they've got to make noise in the play.
They've got to give their fans something to chew on there.
But does it come at the expense of a top four draft pick and a pretty good
ceremony?
We'll see.
So that name is a new one out there per se.
But now it's more of the same across the league.
It is for the most part.
Yeah.
And it's a unique asset.
I mean,
we've spent most of our trade stuff talking about guys in their late 20s,
early 30, aspiring contracts.
This is not that, which is why it sort of piques everyone's interest.
Tell us for the weekend plans.
What have you got going on?
and how does your Olympic break look?
Yeah, I'm actually going to the cabin for a chunk of the Olympics,
do some ice fishing.
Most people go south and toes in the sun and all that.
Not me, man, I'm going ice fishing.
That's what I'm doing.
We get fairly quiet.
I mean, you know, we're in that twitchy sort of zone of you're all on call 24-7
just because of the shenanigans that we could see unfold.
And so I did something unusual.
I'm not really a massage guy.
I'm not, but got a massage this morning and I'm feeling loose, right?
Yeah.
Good.
So, you know, we'll get into something this weekend at some point.
Feb four, you just immediately throw the phone on silent and just like right to the cabin.
Let's go.
Yeah, not quite, but yeah, more or less.
I think, I think insider trading goes on hiatus and I don't shut the phone off because you never know.
but yeah it's lower key absolutely i have lost three phones in ice fishing holes so just
caveat oh you know wrist strap or something to hold it yeah that's why the dude like the jackets
now come with zippers so you just zip those that phone in there and in fact i i think on the lake
there's only certain spots where you actually we have phone reception so more often than i just
leave it upstairs leave what's your uh what's your menu in the ice fishing hut do you take
a little chakudery board out there.
Oh, yeah.
You got the cast iron pan on the stove
with the venison sausage going.
Oh, yeah.
Brown liquor season.
It's coming soon.
Good stuff, Drake.
I'll take pictures.
I'll flip you guys pictures.
Yeah, better than boomers look, we're hoping.
It could be okay.
Thanks, buddy.
That's easy to be.
Have a good weekend, fellas.
Appreciate it.

The right thing is really interesting
because clearly he's not reached
the heights everyone thought
he would get to when he was the presumptive one and then slides to four in a COVID year.
He never played a game in the O because they never got playing.
You just don't see high pedigree guys that age become available or even talked about.
Well, maybe you do.
Caco, caco?
Cap, cap.
Yeah, yeah, no, you're right.
I think probably more of a winger, but yes, like it's same box.
Zegras.
Zegris just was years, though, right?
Like, we hadn't heard Shane Wright's name until a month ago.
And Zegers, it felt like for four years, they just asked for.
too much than it never happened.
Well, I'm just saying there are.
But yeah, yeah.
I'm trying to look up Shane Wright's stats here.
The drug's noted a couple last night.
He's above a half point of game, but barely I'm thinking.
But it's like, you know there's GMs out there saying.
Nine goals, 11 assists.
Yeah, okay, so he's under a half point.
53 games, 20 points.
And so someone out there's thinking there's more there.
How expensive is he?
And I have no idea how you price it.
Yeah, I don't know how you'd price it.
That's the problem.
Zegris need, they wanted to get rid of it.
them. And they were asking a lot with
Rebeke, and by the time they did get rid of them, they didn't really
get a lot, but Philly did well
there. And so does that mean we're going to have a huge
two-year weight on right, or
is there a GM saying, I'll pay the
premium, because I think we can unlock this guy. He's been
buried in their death chart.
Wow. Right. Right. I think it's especially
exciting for us because
in Cuthagherry land, a right-chart
center with some potential
might be.
Ooh. Hey, ooh, hey.
Hey, like, like,
like, cool.
Interesting.
and him saying better than 50-50,
Caudry gets moved.
That means something when it's coming from Dregs.
Like he's not...
I don't know why I just have this suspicion
that there's a lot going on with Codry.
If I'm Codry and I have a family,
I want it done now.
Absolutely.
You've got a three-week window
to sort your life out, get settled in the new market.
And I get it.
Like, you're 35.
We've still seen a very good player
this year, not the whole season,
but it does sort of have the feel
of a guy that's like he's resigned to knowing
that it's not happening here. No,
exactly. He feels like
how are we winning a couple
we are. I'm not upset, but
geez, you're a lot easier to get up
for these games if I was playing for something.
Big time. And I do agree with,
you know, there were times this year I thought Coleman
was the more likely guy to get moved, but
you know, you can do that.
July 1 when you get two,
two retention slots open up again,
and that might make an issue.
You could trade them next year of the deadline.
I don't love the extension conversations,
but when you're in your mid-30s,
hopefully it's less.
Like I get Panarans asking for an extension,
but, you know, that's a different echelon of player,
no disrespect to Lake Coleman.
Like Panarin's a guy that, you know,
you could pencil in for top 10 in league scoring,
and people would be like, yeah, that's reasonable.
You don't want to see another Hanif and Erasmus thing
where it's a guy controlling the whole process
that needs an eight year extension,
but that's not Coleman next year.
I don't think that's Coleman at that age.
Yeah.
I just don't.
Weager White Club.
Codra Coleman.
Two of those four.
One from each box.
Yeah, one from each box.
In my opinion, again, I'm brilliant.
Well, we're all brilliant, and I agree with you.
But I am.
And I have to think that there would be teams out there
that would look at the Uyghur situation as a,
like he said, Detroit.
Like, it's a benefit.
Yeah, we're buying low on a guy.
We know he's better than he looks.
And he's locked in at six and a quarter.
He was at Team Canada.
Yeah.
Pre-Olympic, whatever camp.
Yes, he's had a tough year.
He's been very good player and he's a manageable number.
And we.
Leader.
Lock him in.
Like, I got to think that I was saying about Boston with Anderson.
It's like, why wouldn't they be interested in Weeger?
Yeah.
If the only issue was that they couldn't sign Anderson,
that's not an issue.
Yeah, he's signed.
He's $3 million cheaper.
Probably, yeah.
I mean, I think Rasmus will end up in that eight and a half to nine and a half.
Right?
Like is Rasmus a third better?
Three million?
And you could say this year, yes, but last year, no.
No, exactly.
Like, they're pretty comparable in a weird way.
The age is in the same.
Weager's three years older.
But again, as the cap continues to grow up.
His contract's going to be done at three years sooner.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I would think Rasmus was saying an eight-year deal.
and we've just got five left.
Yeah.
It's an interesting conversation.
And if you're Conroy,
you've gone down the road of talking to teams
that really need right shot D.
This isn't like you're,
okay, we've got to explore this new patch of land.
Like, no, no, you know what Dallas is willing to give up
for a right shot D.
Boston's willing to give up for a right shot D.
You probably have an intel on what Detroit's willing to do or not do.
Leifes have coming out of it.
They're not there anymore, obviously,
but they would have been interested in right shot D.
it's a really nice piece to have
because almost every contender could use
an upgrade on right shot D.
Very few teams could not.
Floating Conroy.
Let's go.
Let's go, Connie. Let's go.
Again, those dates that are important.
Feb 4th.
God, looking.
Feb 4.
Like, are you kidding me?
That's next, next Wednesday.
Next Wednesday.
Like, I think we're going to get some action ahead of that.
I do, too.
And to your point, if you're a veteran player with a family,
Do you want to get moved into a new market in a month?
Not what you?
And it's like a scramble to the playoffs?
Or do you want to get settled in with like two and a half weeks to get,
okay, what are our schooling situations?
Where do I live in the city?
Who are my teammates?
I need some time to talk systems with the coach.
Like this is such a boon for a guy that's not going to the Olympics to get him in
ahead of this break because there's no injury risk.
He's going to be supercharged and you get him time to settle in.
It's so easy.
It's so easy.
I was actually going to say it to drags.
I was going to say,
I don't know if Blake's better than true living,
but I don't know if any of them are any better than anyone else.
Like it's a very rare GM that's heads and tails clearly smarter and better than everyone else.
If you look at the resumes of 80% of the leagues, GMs, it's like 50-50.
Win some, lose some tie a bunch.
And there are very few exceptions.
I will say this.
Go through Bill Zito's trade log since he took the GM job in Florida.
I don't think there's one he's lost.
and he had foursling off waivers
he buys low on Sam Bennett
it is that's the one guy
where it's like he doesn't seem to lose
yours everyone else
you know what he did though
he went and got guys like Shane Wright
yeah that's the Bennett right right
like that was what yeah
and you know what like Shane Wright and Bennett
like that's other GMs
would be staying up late at night thinking about
like different type of light
could I unlock this kid
because I see it not working somewhere else
but I remember scouting that kid
thinking this guy's going to be a star like what's changed or can i unlock them it's a tantalizing
peace great start to the show on a friday it's great frog you're hung out of us here yeah
we'll find this here what do you think jack you just give us a crazy trade scenario what are the
pens gonna do jack i don't know adding i think the lad it'll be a small piece they made they made
the chinikov trade earlier this year and he's been very good that's been a nice pickup um it's funny
They this off season went and got a bunch of guys that won your heels and like pump and dump them because we probably aren't good.
Well, they're good.
And so now you got all these guys on expiring deals.
It's been like the 17 goals or something.
Math has been unreal.
Had a goal to assist yesterday.
Jack's boy Brasers has been unreal.
Connor Dewer.
Yeah, I don't know what they do.
I think they.
Walker Dewer.
It's a different dur.
This is like the whiskey.
DEW.
Yeah.
I'd be interesting to see if they make a big.
splash. They had three first round
picks in the last draft.
Yep. So, Kendall's already
playing. Kendall's playing. Khorkef
's really good. That young defenseman
Brunicki. Yeah, he was at
World Junior. So need some time.
So if you don't, if you, like, if you were
dubous and you're like, look, this division's
wide open. We had
three firsts last year.
I don't know that I need pick 22 here
this year. Exactly. Yeah, that's.
Like that's, that to me is really fascinating.
Go get it, Jack.
What do they need, though?
I don't know.
They've got four lines clicking right now.
That's part of the other thing, too, is the, you know, is a G.
It's kind of like, you know what?
I've heard them with rumors with Jason Robertson.
I don't know how I feel about that.
I wouldn't want to move Rastor Raquel to get him and then sign them up long term.
Roberts is a great player.
And it's a weird spot Dallas is in because he's looking at Cal Conner's deal being like, well, I mean, how different are we?
Like, we're not the same player, but we're both put us down.
for 40 every year. We're goals scores. Yeah.
And like are we perfect players? No,
but we do the thing that is the hardest to do and gets
paid the most in this league and that's score goals.
So it's like he's asking
for 12, let's say.
Man.
And Pittsburgh's got a lot of cap space.
Damn boy.
Damn, man.
Okay, so thank you to Drager.
I just can't fathom.
How Dallas isn't desperate to keep
Jason Roberts.
I think they like them.
such a plethora of scoring there that they're like, eh, we'll survive?
I think it's less of them liking Robertson and more of like,
how do we make the cap work?
And can we find something at 10 million bucks that we think could fit in as well?
Like, I guess different scenario,
but when you see rant and leave Colorado,
you're like, they screw this all up.
And then you watch nature's coming.
You're like, oh, shit, this guy fits what they're doing too.
Cheaper and just as good.
They saved a couple million bucks.
And when they were talking to rent and his ask was $2 million higher than what he ended up signing for, he wanted 14 and they get an age just a 10.
I'm not saying that's like a savvy move, but it might be more fit and cap than it is them not liking Roberts.
It just seems odd.
It does.
Setting in Chicago and going, oh, we can't score a goal.
We're last in the league.
Yeah, we're going to dump a 40.
It would be weird to look at a perennial 40 goal guy and be like, hey, I just don't know what we do here.
What do we do here?
You sign him.
But they got Wyatt and they've got like a lot of good young players.
Absolutely.
But I hate all these guys.
Yeah, 40 cool.
Get out.
Feel the same way about Rand?
A good buffalo.
Let's get to some of the news of the day.
And the Pinda report, we do that for Village Honda.
The winter ready SUV event is on now at Village Honda, Northwest Auto Mall and online at VillageHonda.com.
Head to the mountains or maybe you just live in Calgary.
Get a vehicle that no set of deal with winter at your dealership for life.
You start a Flames Nation, they were in action last night.
We haven't gone into great detail on the game,
but you know Flash Stevens is covering it.
A boy Flash.
A boy, flasher.
Flames have plenty of possession with low quality shots and a 4-1 loss to the while.
That one sentence does seem to get it all, doesn't it?
That's been the last two weeks.
Years?
Or years.
Sorry, yeah, weeks, sure, all the above.
Sure.
Weeks, months, years, yeah.
You see the image there.
Clapka scraps Folino.
Did he?
Well, he tried.
Felino's better at this and Clapka is big and wanted to swing the moe after they fell down early in this contest.
God, I respect what he's trying to do.
You got to get a little, like, it's got to be a point where you start figuring out these scraps, don't you?
I think it sounds.
Not easy.
I should just shut up.
No, I'm with you.
If I'm Adam Klopka, you know what I'm doing after practice?
I'm literally spending 20 minutes with Ryan Lomburg, just going.
over technique.
I'm calling Big Earn.
Sure.
Yeah.
But I mean, Lomberg would have, in my opinion,
he'd have to be tactically very good at his size to do what he does.
So just some tricks to the trade.
Like, where am I getting my grab?
How do I, where am I placing?
Where's my weight?
Like little stuff like that could help him.
He's so huge and strong.
Well, that's just it.
I'm like, anyway, I shouldn't critique him.
The other story on the website worth exploring.
Cullen Potter, whose season is over at ASU.
You got nicked up a couple weekends ago we told you.
Likely means he's going back to college.
That's okay.
He was the first rounder.
First rounder that they used Florida's pick on last year.
My kid says, he's sick.
She's sick.
He's so sick.
Potter fan, eh?
Harry.
Harry.
That's a good nickname.
Or a Hogwarts.
That'd be a hell of a nickname too.
Two on the nose.
Two on the nose.
Too long a word too.
Yeah, fair enough.
Our social media team is getting saucy.
There's your Peter Marr catchphrase with one small tweak.
Bobby Germany.
I think so.
You can put it in.
Oh, dear.
Bobby.
You were sending messages in our work chat last night.
He was all pissy.
This game has been horrific.
They are good at low event hockey.
They didn't even not work.
No, the work ethic is fun.
Yes, the structure's fine.
The talent level is not there.
They're just not good.
Yeah.
And I think, to our point earlier, they know that now.
This is not 96 points and we'll get a tie break this year.
Yeah, let's see.
How many games in are we?
Oh, yeah.
Sure.
Okay.
Yeah, we can pretend or we can be.
You know, Rhett, stop bringing me down.
What are we doing on this three week break?
Are we going to Cabo?
You know, like that's what they're talking.
Yeah.
Get us out of here.
When's the plane on the fourth?
What time?
Well, let's see.
You play the Oilers at 8 p.m.
So maybe we get a Thursday at noon.
Who's going to ask.
cusk if we can fly out right after
like a midnight night.
Yeah, I mean, there's going to be some mandated
CBA stuff. They'll know exactly the moment
they could set foot on a plane.
There's your schedule before the break.
It is a matinee tomorrow at the dome
2 o'clock
against the sharks, Celebrity in town.
That's become a marquee event.
A year ago, you might have to pay someone to use your
shark's tickets this year. That'll be a buzz.
Two in the afternoon? Yeah, Jackson and you'll
get all banged up midday. I will be there.
Yeah.
Love it.
And the Leafs annual visit that comes with a lot of noise will be extra noisy on Monday evening.
6 p.m.
Uh, excuse me, 8 p.m. Mountain start.
That's a late start for the Leafs fans.
10 local.
That is late.
Usually flip that around.
Yeah.
You wonder if they're going to be as boisterous and cocky is usually.
Oh, I hope so.
And then you close out.
The issue I have with the Leafs as a team is just the fact that that that,
leadership group does look like a leadership group that's more than willing to pack it in.
If you have a fear of that, I can see why.
It's been 10 years, but they've shown you an ability to do that.
And then it'll be the Oilers, the last game before a three week break.
Rett will be there.
That'll boost ticket sales.
You're walking flames.
Do you carry like a sharpie in each pocket?
What's the move?
Because you're going to be hounded for autographs.
I'm not talking to you.
You go hide in a suite somewhere?
I'll be with the cheese.
the salsa, the cheese.
No, I'm not eating it.
Fit February.
FitFab.
He'll be doing burpees in a sweet washroom at the game on Wednesday.
Oh, yeah, well, maybe the sweet washroom, but not to the general.
No, no, you don't do that there.
Gross.
Ew.
That's what the flames are looking at.
Bottom 10, what a night in the inverse stand.
Look at this.
Red.
Second place in the upside down standings.
St. Louis gets a win.
Vancouver even.
We had Fultina last night.
Fultina.
Simply the best.
Love to see it.
They're five games under 500 now, although look closely.
The team above them, five games under, team above that, five games under,
then went to pick, four games under, like, it's still crowded there.
It's a hand.
I'd like to see some spacing happen, a bit of a gap formed.
The other teams aren't given up on this.
That's the problem.
Flames, five losses in a row, not ideal, and they've scored four or more goals once in 13 games.
What do you mean?
Not ideal.
Perfect.
I mean, ideal.
Sorry, take that back.
That is ideal.
Seven games with one goal this month.
So they can't score.
Still.
Seven games with one goal?
That's correct.
How do you?
How many games?
13.
More than half.
Wow.
They have two three game streaks with a total of three goals.
Come on, goalie.
Stop to puck.
You know we can't score.
The goalie's like, just get me two, you assholes.
Look at all those games.
Look at all these games.
continue to roll. Sabers red hot.
Habs continue what's been
a tough month for the abs.
Avs are bored.
They are 100%
I think they're going.
We're, what do we?
One or two less saves and like get us to the playoffs
already. Yeah. Lightning continue
to roll. That's not a problem for them. Devils
can they get back to relevance? That's up a point at least
Nashville. Good job. Good job Nashville.
Matt Schaefer, heavy
trolling. This was the second of a home
and home between two of the more
bitter rivals in league history, the aisles and the Rangers.
after the game. Yeah, way louder at our building last night.
It's, he's rubbing the salt right in as an 18 year old on Broadway.
You love to see that.
When guys aren't playing well in their cocky, we don't like it.
But when you're doing what he's doing at 18, awesome.
Carry on.
Do what you do.
Jack's Penguins roll.
I don't struggle putting up goals.
Carolina was wearing the hardfords.
They were down multiple goals with less than two minutes.
They win that one in regulation.
That's a sting for the manner.
out.
Out.
Out.
Out.
Eight ones.
Caps in the shootout.
We'll get to that.
There's a story there
that's worth talking about.
The blues blew a four two lead
and then got one in the dying seconds
from Jimmy Snuggarood.
Boylers,
they were also down.
Florida makes it.
I'm making a statement on January 27th of 26.
It's a very reasonable outcome.
I don't know when Barker was back.
And if I knew that,
I'd be like,
I'll fight you,
but I don't know.
He's skating.
What does that mean?
I don't know.
How many guys they have going to the Olympics?
A lot, depending how healthy they are.
It doesn't help them.
No.
Marshad left last night.
And is Bennett going to get the call if there's an injury of Canada?
I don't know.
Like it could be a lot of guys.
It would be way better for Florida Panthers players to have the time off.
Yeah, it would.
They don't have that choice.
Other finals, the Oilers were down three nothing and then rallied in the third.
Gross.
Ew.
God.
Hippie tank was buzzing.
Come on, sharks.
One more.
Would have had them.
Do it.
And Zach Hyman,
just a superb bit of interference.
He pushes his own D-Man into
the shark's netminder
and then scores by banking it offset
D-man into a net that the
goaltender could not protect.
That's some excellent dark arts.
Canucks get a rare win at home.
They want the cup rat.
Two-nothing.
Stars at a shootout against Vegas.
Vegas is way down and clawed back in that one,
if I'm correct.
One team was up three-nothing, I think.
And then Seattle continues the
Israel, it leaves five, two.
Thumping the leaves.
It went over on a five-game homestand,
another off to the West Coast, lose their first.
Ouch.
Oof.
Big news last night.
It's been done.
Patrick Kane is the man.
Most points by an American-born player ever.
He passes Mike Medano.
Great stuff.
He is absolutely a first ballot hall of famer,
and one of the greats we got to see in his prime in Chicago
with three cups.
Impressive stuff.
Here is Mike Madano.
Patty, congratulations on becoming the American-born point leader.
I knew at an early age in your career you'd be the one chasing this number down,
and here we are today.
Your skill level, the ability to shoot the puck pass, make plays, be creative,
your shoot-out goals, how we got Showtime,
but more importantly, your influence on American-born players.
Clayton Keller, the Hughes brothers, Cole Field,
they all wanted to be Patrick Kane growing up.
And here we are.
I couldn't be more proud for you.
I hope you have a great night.
All the best to you and your family.
Continue on and make this number harder for the next guy.
All the best, but take care.
Yeah, one legend to another.
The old Prince Albert Raider alumni.
There's Patty, a little at home, standing O.
That's cool to do in Detroit.
I think we have the goal too, don't we, Jack?
Or did we not get the goal?
Who cares?
Look at Pat.
He actually had it, and it was called back for offside.
And then he has to do it again.
We don't have the goal.
Okay.
I'll get.
Of course, no.
Keep no.
That's far.
We've got a lot of other goals.
We got a lot of stuff.
But Ard last night, filthy.
Check out this goal.
Like, remember last year people were down on this kid?
Patience, everyone.
Watch this.
There's Godard.
Oh, you're going to live your feet.
See ya.
And zinc.
Oh, geez.
What a shot.
The moment.
The D-Man is, okay, well, I'm hitting the brakes then.
And he checks for a pass.
Look at a pass.
Look at a.
his eyes he's looking he's looking off the goalie the whole time all right i'll put it right in the corner
all loading up you might shoot now oh zinc not fair oh not fair at all man they're not good yet but you can see it
happening yeah like they're getting overshadowed because san ozay has come so a hundred percent
even anaheim at the beginning of the year buffalo now like they're going to be that team one of these years
It's just probably not this year.
Okay, moving.
That was a badarde, nasty goal.
Let's get some goaltending notes.
Brandon Bussie, this kid out of nowhere, not young.
Carolina always has injury issues because they have Freddie Anderson in that.
I think Kachukov's done for the year or something.
How about fewest games ever to 20 wins?
What?
How good is that?
That's excellent, Ryan.
Good stuff.
Where did he come from?
I was just in their minor league affiliate.
When was he drafted?
I think he's like late 20s.
Can you look him up, Jack?
Yeah, he's late 20s?
It's not young.
I'm some confusing.
Jack, you're busy.
I'll look.
Yeah.
Keep going.
Carolina's doing their thing, right?
They just, you don't notice them.
You don't talk about him.
Yeah, like, not young.
Like he's,
him and coolie just out of nowhere this year.
Love it.
Alex Tuck, remember we're talking about Hattrix?
Love him.
Set the record, boys.
Another Hattie last night.
This is, uh, impressive stuff.
Quinn.
Alex talk he's got two
With the pot
Stop
Look at the building rats
They got the old goat heads
That horn is
Great horn
My top three horns
In no particular order
Buffalo Chicago Dallas
The fans coming out
They're coming out for sure
And look at that
They're loving it
Did you see poor Josh Allen
Had to have surgery?
Oh no
That's fifth about a tarsal
Golly.
Is it a hand thing or a foot thing?
Foot.
Okay, thank you.
That made it 4-1.
And also what it did is it extended Alex Lyons' winning streak to the longest in franchise history.
Ten games in a row.
Really?
Jerry Desjardin, nine-game streak in 76, 77.
See ya.
Jerry?
Or Jerry.
Thought he had that one locked in.
Not anymore.
Not on Alex Lions watch.
Great journeyman number three type guy has shown flashes.
He can get hot and play well.
he was the guy that got the Panthers into the playoffs.
That's right.
They'd given up on Bob down the stretch.
He actually started in the postseason for them.
Then Bobber came in.
They upset that incredible Bruins team with 128 points and go all the way to the final.
I like Lion.
And if you think the Atlantic's good, this graphic will not discourage your take.
Wow.
Look at the runs.
These teams are on red.
Bolt 16, 1, and 1 in their last 18.
Wins.
Two regulation losses their last 12.
Sabers are 20.
23 and 1.
20, 3 and 1
in their last 24.
Bruins only two losses in their last 15
in regulation. Meanwhile, Florida's
8 back, Leafs 10 back.
That's a good division. They didn't mention the
HABs who have been solid this year.
Like, oh, Jesus.
I know.
Impressive stuff.
So Florida's going to have to be better than Boston.
Yep.
And again, if we had any clarity on
I just think Barker was one of the best players in the league here.
You're way better with them.
I think they're out of gas.
Could be that could be all the above.
Charlie Lingren last night for the Capitals got hurt late in the third.
They go to the shootout.
He's staying in there.
Basically just doing the statue man.
Three for three go the caps on the penalty on the shootout.
The one miss wasn't a save.
It was a crossbar, I believe, from Larkin.
And watch what happens after the Caps win this game.
So that's
Nick Dowd's never scored
in a shootout before.
And the final goal.
And the Capitol's escape with two points.
And so the wing's like, okay, we're out of here.
And they're mob and Dowd, but look at the background.
This is Patty King.
There's always feel better with the W next to it,
but still a big night for Patrick Kane.
But look at Lingren being helped out there.
What an effort.
Oh, Bucci, but Washington.
Look at that right there.
Wow.
Helped off the ice is Charlie Lingren.
I think the backstory is Logan Thompson got nicked up.
He had to come in, something like that.
Oh, not going to help.
Or he was sick.
I shouldn't say that.
I just know that they didn't have the option they wanted.
Hangs in there and gets carried to the locker room.
So he played the whole shootout with an injury?
Yes.
They carry him off after the win.
Where's the e-bug?
I guess they like him hurt more than the e-buck is what I suggest.
Wow.
he's fine it's a hockey player hurricanes we're wearing the hartford wailers unies that's always good even if it's just easy on the eyes so good third team ever to win in regulation trailing by two in the final two minutes that's not just tying the game to get into overtime that's winning it in regulation they join the stars in 95 and the maroons in 1932 what a jersey that one is and those jerseys do look great
Man, I need that hat tax.
Go get a whaler's hat, Brent.
Buy it right now.
Remember that deal for Brennan Carlo, the Leafs made?
Yeah.
Here's Fraser Minton in his last 15 games.
16 points plus 15.
Whoa.
You're just rubbing it in.
I'm adding context.
He's turned into a player really quickly.
You told you about the Schaefer performance last night.
He scores 18-year-old defensemen.
How many goals do you think he's at?
14, you're right.
You nailed it.
I've watched it last night.
I'm like, Jesus Christ, kid.
Settle down.
He passes Bobby Orr for goals as an 18-year-old.
Three to catch Phil Housley.
I'm saying he's doing it.
He's got two and a half months to get there.
Wow.
Tonight, got some games for you.
Last night, Red, I'm hoping we have an easier go on the
the Puckdoku game.
Just one. There it is.
Oh.
And it's the Panarin Bowl.
It is Columbus in Chicago.
Sawed another one, sure, why not?
And there are two of the better players in the game.
One game?
That's it.
Hoof, I could hit the bar tonight.
I don't have to stay home to watch hockey.
One game, that's easy.
I can throw that up for you.
You normally got like the 15, you get the war room,
you usually watch all the games.
So tuned in.
So tuned in.
Jack's getting old.
You know what one of the signs is?
Not going to the Croucho Child Classic anymore.
What?
Not buying all the 10.
I guess he feels too old to hit on college girls now.
Zach, you're an idiot.
Go to the classic.
Go to the classic.
The hell you think it.
Dino's ladies won the women's game,
and here is the final moments of the men's game,
Mount Royal up two to one.
We'll roll off the clock.
Mount Royal has returned a little winner circle here at the Coach Al Classic,
and they snapped the down streak here at the Flavis Hall Ridge.
How good is that?
U-Sports.
Like,
NHL building,
rocking,
Calgary rivals.
Kudos to all involved.
Another awesome
growing at this.
Crowchown Classic.
Jackie should have been there.
They got their whole team on.
That could have turned into a real.
Yeah,
well,
it is turning a bit of a melee here.
And here's the beauty.
If you're like,
oh boy,
the next time they play,
how about tomorrow?
They're playing at FCA.
Who's going to be there?
I'm going to be there.
Ryan Pinders is going to be there.
Wife's out of town.
You can find me at the bar.
looking in watching this good college kids great hockey never gets talked about jack jack he can pull the
double up you go flame sharks and then wheel right into fcai for the dinoes and cougars that might be a move
that is a fine no and me there's no chance i'm getting out of the dome you brought somewhere yeah night
class tomorrow let's go to the n-fell what have we got in the n-sabander studies
where do we want to go ryan let's go here NFL let's do it
every time there's a new Pope
what the hell
the Seahawks go to the Super Bowl
Wow
that's crazy
what?
It's true
holy
there's
Mr. Excitement Russ Daddy
your boy Russell Wilson
for two years ago
is that Hasselbeck?
I think it is
the Steelers beat him
all right well that's the next time
we get a new Pope
hammer the seat.
The last love when Hesabek said to
that overtime.
We're going to take the ball.
We're going to win.
Yeah.
No.
Was he a Packer at that point?
No, we're playing to Packers.
Okay.
That's it was.
Crazy.
Turnover.
Shit.
This is awesome.
So here's the thing.
Fans go to the NFL draft.
They have draft parties and they think they know
which college players would be good in the NFL.
Here's the thing.
NFL scouts probably know that in GMs and even they swing and miss a bit.
Fans don't have a clue.
Here's some hilarious.
reactions to great players being drafted by their fan bases.
Bill select Josh Allen.
The Houston Texans select JJ Y.
I hate it.
Vikings went with Justin Jefferson.
I am kind of unhappy with that.
The Philadelphia Eagles select
gambling hurts, quarterback.
That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen my life.
The Kansas City Chiefs select Patrick Bahomes is the second.
Really?
this is why this organization will never win a Super Bowl in my life.
That is the one you finish with.
That's the full kicker for sure.
They'll never win.
Fans, we love your passion.
But the scouts might know more.
Maybe just not always, but maybe.
Trust them a little bit.
Are you familiar with Savannah bananas, Rhett?
Love the Savannah.
It's a big deal.
Like someone who is.
showing their revenues the other day.
Like this is a massive sports enterprise.
This is a trick pitch.
Now, don't, like, it's going to take a few watches
before you figure out what's happening here.
But good luck hitting this thing.
Yeah, we've got a full count here.
Oh, trick pitch.
Oh, it's a trick play.
Josh Dilefsky.
The Ronaldo Selly, Clark Gilmore.
It was just behind in the back.
Good stuff.
I'll be honest.
I think I'm, I'm drilling this.
It's right down the middle.
It's going slow as hell.
It's the one, you're just not ready yet.
He's in his win at this.
Well, yeah, this ball.
What?
Yeah.
I got to have some sort of instinct.
He's sort of bit bad.
Jack probably would have drilled that thing.
It was a little Washington generally.
Maybe there is.
I do don't, I don't watch enough Savannah bananas to know whether that's a thing or not.
Like, is this the Harlem Globetrotters or is this?
What is this?
I don't know what this is either.
Well, okay, here's the thing.
We know it's cold and there's snow in places that aren't used to it.
Yeah.
This is one of our favorite places on Earth Red.
Noodles was just there.
Oh, this is Nashville?
And you know what?
A lot of people in Nashville don't know how to deal with snow.
I'm going to give this guy a lot of credit.
I think he knows what he's doing.
That's a parallel park.
That is Ace Ventura right there.
That's good stuff.
He's facing the wrong way, Brian.
Yeah, unless it's one way, you're right.
But bars.
Still love it.
Yeah.
That's the, finally that, that old vehicle.
How often would they have had snow in Nashville?
Not that much.
Yeah, look at it.
It looks like Calgary.
Jeez.
Oh, it's depressing.
Let's go to Nashville, Jack.
I'm down.
Once there's the weather turns, you've got to get down there.
It's a hell of them off.
That's good now.
That is your Pinda report on this Friday, January 30th for Village Honda.
If you're looking for a pre-owned vehicle, they got a lot full of them.
Over 90 units on site and access to more than 500 in the dealer group.
Maybe you're really picky, right?
You know, I want it in red.
Okay.
We'll figure that out.
We'll find that truck in red for you, Redd.
Villotrana.com and in the Northwest Autumn, all your dealership for life.
What are you looking at?
Nothing I spaced out for a second.
CTE.
That'll happen.
It's Friday and this is my new Friday ritual with you.
All right.
Tell us about your Bontan order this weekend or what you're going to pull out of the
freezer and or just get fresh rid from the deli for, because it's the weekend.
You've earned it.
Another arduous.
week. It's supposed to be nice out, right? I actually have a
roasted chicken. Now, I don't know if I'm going to do it on the
rotissary or how I'm going to do it, but I took out chicken yesterday.
And you said it's what, your old man raves about the bontan chicken?
He'll eat bontone chicken. He's been spoiled. The D-U-G.
Can't go back. Nope, won't do it. Once you go bontan chicken.
You're over this fake crap from some other place. It's so
good. What are you looking out?
Well, I'm just going to tell you about the chicken, but tell me what your sides are first with that chicken.
I don't know about sides.
I don't need a lot of sides.
Roasted carrots, potatoes, potatoes, skin.
Skin.
Chicken, skin and chicken.
Okay.
Rets on the carnivore diet.
Yeah, remember.
I can't, what do you get up on the side?
New York steak.
More meat.
Meats don't clash.
I don't let you know that, Jack.
Yeah?
Meets don't clash.
No?
Load them all up.
You know, it sounds good, though?
What's that?
A roast chicken with.
Putin.
That does so good.
Oh, man.
I've never done that before, but I think I might.
We're talking AAA Alberta beef, locally raised fresh pork, locally raised,
fresh free-range chicken, turkey, Alberta lamb, milk-fed veal.
Oh, 20 varieties of in-store made salads.
Yield job sounds good, too.
And don't sleep on their desserts.
Oh, unbelievable.
Of course, the in-store meat pies with that old torture device that's 100 years old.
stamping those.
You've got to be careful where your place, thanks, Jack.
Careful.
Careful indeed.
Proud to be Calgary's 24 year in a row, Southern Alberta Consumer Choice Award winner for best meat in Delhi.
28 crowfoot circle in the northwest, bontan meat market.
There's no debate yet.
Bates over.
Not a debate at all.
Jack, I sent this to see yesterday.
I'm going to put you on the spot.
Cloud Law is going to be at the Power Sports event at the BMO this weekend.
So I want to pull that up really quickly because there are guys.
Cloud law.
Sports event.
Maybe someone's stolen your t-shirt.
Maybe,
uh,
maybe Jack here,
you're in a litigious dispute after being terminated.
Whether it's dispute resolution,
long-term disabilities,
not being made,
whatever it is.
They got a legal department for that.
You don't need legal advice until you get it.
Uh,
and there they are.
And they're big supporters of the,
the biker community in our city.
So they're going to be at the power sports show at the BMO.
look for their booth,
their setup.
Last year,
you came down,
I believe.
Didn't we do the show from?
I think we did a live show there.
Yeah,
you guys did.
And they had all these bikes
from different eras,
like collector,
incredible,
like, wow,
this is from the 50s,
this one here,
is a supervisor,
you sort of walk through time
with these historic motorbikes.
So if you're looking for something
to do, there it is.
Right,
the motorcycle and power sports show,
2026,
Canada showroom.
It's at the BMO Center,
today and tomorrow.
and go say hello to our friends
and McLeod Law when you're down there
because they'll be there.
Like this, this jerk with a,
with some sort of Alberta Saskatchewan hat,
cut me off. Like, all right.
Well, it's a rat, rat warning.
He's already got some retainer. Okay.
I've got them.
Yes, look, let's work on.
Can't scoop them.
Let's work on a settlement, maybe.
I don't know that we need to take red to court.
Anyway, that'll be good fun.
You could hit the double up.
literally go Flames game to that right down there.
Park wants two events.
Why not?
That's a good idea, actually.
Bang that out.
So good show a bit early.
Calls her first.
Yes.
Park right there.
We'll chew at the casino.
Go check out the bikes.
Walk great through in the west entrance to the dome.
Stupid kids.
I got a lot of stupid kids hockey this weekend.
Let's take a peek at some bets.
And then we will tell you about a great weekend coming out of the mountains.
And we'll get that guy out of here with the tankathon and some super chats.
People were saying,
shouldn't do it anymore. The tank of them.
So really is that so.
So screen.
Can I go full screen just real quick here.
Fellas.
The tankathon is not something that affects the hockey gods, the actual lottery
calls.
Sorry.
Gary Bettman's rigging or non rigging of the lottery.
It's just a way for us to be excited about a team that's in second last.
Don't take this from us.
Ardo comes here on this show.
I mean nothing when the actual lottery comes around.
Remember, we didn't really have the blackjack guy on forever?
It's always winning.
Tim Nacky.
Watch.
Yeah.
So we'll get to that later.
We're not worried about that.
Betts, bets, bets.
Bet 365.
We know there's a big game next weekend.
Starting to see more of those Super Bowl specials and prop bets out there.
We'll tackle those next week.
Lots of time to square up the new Pope Super Bowl.
Yeah, that's right.
Now that I've got that info.
Yeah.
Interesting.
Here's what we're going with tonight.
But Ard looked good last night.
Stay hot, son.
He's at home against Columbus.
We're going to parley three shots and a point.
All very realistic for what Badard is doing these days, plus 105 there.
I don't know if anyone was up in the middle of the night,
but Novak Djokovic beat Janik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz survived Zverav.
Alex Zvera, the German, I believe.
This sets up a clash of Titans in the final of the Ozzy Open,
the first major of the year.
My wife has wound up.
She came to bed at two.
sleep on the couch, missed the end of one of the match.
Don't tell me you one. I won. I won't tell you.
But here on the show, we know, this is your major tennis final.
Arguably the greatest of all time against the heir to the throne in Carlos Alcares.
You never heard of this Alcarus.
Come on. Get out of here. You're not kidding.
I have no. I saw a Pagula lost, though, in the semies.
In the women's, okay.
The Spaniard against the Serbian Novak, who is 17 years older than the player he just beat last
match is the elder statesman plus 250.
I say he's got one major left and he's doing it this week.
Damn right he is, Ryan.
That's a match by the way. You want to watch two of the best ever to do it.
It's only 1.30 in the morning. So Jack, you'll go, here's your Saturday.
You're going to go see Celebrini at the dome.
Okay. Swing by FCA for the Cougars and the dynos.
Okay.
Got night class and then at 1.30 in the morning, throw on the tennis.
The nice thing for the retro is that I don't have any fear of finding out who won that event,
so I can watch it.
Well, you have the brunch.
Yeah.
Sunday morning.
That's a nice, that's a nice move, John.
Watch it.
Go to a pub.
Have a nice brunch.
Have it on.
Throw it on.
A little mimosa.
They'll have a reply on the next day.
Yeah.
Why not?
It's tough.
You're going to need to put your bed in, though, before it actually does start.
Yeah, get it in.
Yeah.
So you can do that today.
That is a Saturday late slash Sunday stupid early final of the first major of the year.
are bets for Bet365, but over the moment, never ordinary at Bet365, download the app today
and use that promo code nation.
You've been talking about going to the mountains.
I should go to the mountains.
Nobody invites me to the mountains, even though they're right there.
I may have a development on that front because we've got some downtime coming up.
How about the Alps?
We should go cover the Olympics, live on location.
I think it's a great idea.
Now, maybe you can't get to Italy to the Alps.
Maybe you're going to have to settle for the incredible Rocky Mountains.
Western Canada.
If so,
be terrible.
Check this out.
We're talking about
Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts,
CRMR.com.
If you want to get a little dance on,
Feb 20 and 21,
two days.
Talk to me.
The Overnighter.
Look at this.
There's Pete, Mike,
beauties, Calgary guys.
He's still in the old
high-fi club.
Remember that place?
Oh, good times there.
Look at the lineup.
Slow down.
Joanna Magic's going to DJ,
The Sponges,
Bertchill,
give her Terry.
That's Terry from Fubbaw.
He has like heavy rock karaoke or heavy metal karaoke Charlie Hustle.
If you like a party in the mountains on a lake, that is your weekend, Feb 20, Feb 21.
Find out more CRMR.com.
And here's the thing.
You know what?
You're going to go check out one of the resorts for CRMR.
Get a little bump from the barn burner friends here.
Use the promo code, barn burner.
Enjoy 15% off your room.
That is your rate access code.
you can use that at Buffalo Mountain Lodge
you can use that at Emerald Lake where this event is
don't be shy get out to those mountains
use that promo code barn burner
all caps one word for 15%
off at the CRMR
Resorts
that'd be a good time
I should go
I really want to go to that
that would be a lot of fun
don't know that I'm allowed
I can't the wife be out of town that weekend
that'd be a good one because she knows
she knows she's too much
she's on top of things
Settle into mountain life.
Toast your arrival with a beer.
Enjoy some tunes.
Maybe snowshoe around the lake.
Wander Main Street of Banff, whatever it is.
Enjoy those mountains.
Thank you, CR, MR.
Just right there.
Yeah, like where are these mountains?
Everyone talks about how far away?
Like four or five are?
No, just right there.
Right there.
West.
Jack's west, okay?
Keep going.
You'll hit the mountains right away.
Love that.
Super chats are the U.S.
of Calgary.
What are people yamering about today?
What are you mad about people?
There's handsome Dan to the 10 bucks.
He's being in off easy in January.
Seven games with one goal.
Now that said,
he is donating 10 bucks a goal.
Very nice of him.
We gained ground on Vancouver and moved up to second.
Also, did you guys see Gridden sidestep that open ice hit in the third?
Man needs to give Perrex some pointers.
Preck's taking some hits.
That's fair.
I just want to see those two cook together.
Let's go.
Throw them on the same power play in it.
Perak will play tonight for the Wranglers in San Jose against the Barakuta.
I would expect to see him a fair amount between now and the end of the year.
Obviously, Flames Next Actions, the matinee to more against San Jose.
Monday, Toronto, Wednesday, Edmonton.
Maybe not the tomorrow afternoon if he's in San Jose tonight.
But Toronto, Edmonton, sure.
Let's see him.
Go get it, kid.
I guess you're at home.
Yeah.
So you can manage out against.
R.B. checking in.
Time for a wee biggle.
That means trade weaker.
He's been really adamant on this.
279 for the kids.
Look, if you're going to, if you can win a deal and get more young assets, go get it.
That's up to the boss, man.
Does Connie take super chats?
Maybe.
279 might not get him to do it.
But maybe get Eisenman to up the offer, huh?
There has to be teams that would love to have them.
100%.
I agree.
Good player.
Good contract.
Is there a good trade?
We'll see.
What else do we got you on?
Michael Kern.
Oh, my God.
Five bucks.
Calling it now Matthews to Vegas.
They can't make it work.
Oh, my God.
Anytime you say Vegas can't make it work,
they will find a new loophole in the CBA to exploit.
What would you have to move back?
Hurtle?
They do have good centered up.
William Carlson is the guy in the crosshairs,
but that's not enough money.
It's not enough money.
Like Matthews.
Would you move?
Ikeld to get Matthew.
No.
No.
You definitely would move everyone but Eichel and have those two as your top two centers and say, during it.
We'll take, anyone want a piece?
Come get us.
I feel like you'd fit in there.
Oh, 100%.
I feel like they'd like them.
100%.
B.B. Goat 44.
I think that might be Barnburn or greatest of all time, Rout Warner.
Is that what that hashtag is?
Yeah, maybe.
No more birthdays.
You're done?
Stop at 50?
Yeah.
You got the noodles ball.
See ya.
Don't talk about birthdays, birthdays are for kids.
No presents to talk, long conversation.
Sing songs.
Although Sean O'Brien's, uh, is he coming up?
Friend brought me some cookies.
Oh, okay.
For my birthday.
And?
Maybe the best cookie I've ever had.
Cookie.
What kind of cookie?
Just like a chocolate chucky cookie.
Oh, man.
And I'm not a sweet sky.
That's a good cookie.
I ate the whole fucking thing.
I believe you.
So good.
Any other supers?
There we go.
RB again.
Will Trilliving be managing a Boston piece?
Come on.
Cheeky.
Very cheeky.
Cheeky.
When you own them,
you don't have to manage them.
It's also cheeky rats.
Thank you, I think, R.B.
279 for the kids.
It's for the kids.
Times two.
Over five bucks.
Okay.
It's for the kids.
tree can laugh
and you know what
Tree's a worker
what?
I feel this is
Cheddar Bob
699
I feel like Pinder
might bat my head off
but I don't give a bleep
what if
what we get from a
codger trade
I just want them gone
as long as we get a first
well you can't say
you don't care what you get
but then you have to
as long as we get a first
the first is a very nice return
I don't know that it's out of the realm
of possibility
but you'd have to eat some salary
and someone
would have to be company
You're going to be first. I would hope so. If you did, I'd say the deal's done. Fax it in.
If it's just the first, I'm doing that. Are you going to agree or are you with me?
Oh, I'm not greedy. I'm actually wondering if we're idiots for thinking that it's that easy.
That's what I mean. Like, I think if there was a first out there, I don't know that we'd be waiting for a trade. It would have happened.
Now, maybe there will be. What would you trade him for? Like, where's the cut off? A second and a third?
It's different just because of his age.
I just want to make sure you get assets.
This is asset management.
A second and a third?
A second and a prospect.
Sure.
Go.
Make it a better prospect.
Yeah.
It's kind of the range.
And if you get a betting war and you get a first, run for the hills.
You've done it again.
Awesome.
Oh, if you could get it first.
Yeah.
Awesome.
Thank you, Cheddar Bob.
That is all.
That is all.
I like drinks.
Weeks and country.
Boom.
I like what you said.
One of those right shot, D.
One of those forwards.
Pick one from each box.
Let's go.
Pick, make me an offer.
Tankathon.
Flames all the way up to second in the inverse standings
as we showed you in the Pinder report.
That means their odds increased from yesterday,
where we spun the wheel and the flames in a lottery simulation
picked first overall.
Let's see if we can keep the lottery balls hot.
Vancouver has a 19% chance of winning.
Calgary 13.8.
The Blues, Rangers, and Jets, third, fourth, and fifth.
Let's give it a spin jack and see if we can keep the fellas hot.
Blues first.
Calgary stays put at second.
Vancouver drops two spots.
Good for you, Van Gogh.
Love it.
And you like the two-hole for Connie, right?
I'm fine with the two-hole.
St. Louis, you pick one.
We'll take a really good player a second.
Maybe it's McKenna, maybe it's Fairoff, maybe it's Stenberg, maybe it's a center.
That's a good week of Tankathon.
That's how you finish.
Second and first?
It all depends on what St. Louis takes.
well yeah you get your second pick or your first
so it's gonna go
Jack you're happy with two
you'll take that yeah I'll take two
one or two thanks
how was the show today Jack
it's a really good show we got boom
drags great oh yeah boom was on
yeah I kind of forgot about that but it looked like hell
it looks like someone literally shook him in his bed
and said quickly get on this phone call
and he just sleep two minutes before he was on
Did you see that Boston pick from Toronto?
Eight.
Eight.
That's a tough pill to swallow and leaf.
Oh, yeah.
I thought it was bad giving pick 16, the Montreal last year.
It's not good.
Thanks for being with us.
Enjoy the matinate tomorrow, Jack.
Enjoy the weather this weekend.
Yeah, great.
Gorgeous.
Trying to line up on up on ODR skate.
I'm hoping the overnight lows are cold enough.
It's getting a little warm.
4, 5, 7.
You'll be all right.
Okay, good.
It's freezing overnight.
It's, well.
What's our Saturday overnight?
Have you got that?
Saturday.
The low on Saturday.
I'm interested in.
Overnight minus Uno.
Yeah, that's going to be close.
That ice to freeze out.
Yeah, we're out there last night.
It was good.
Getting some use.
Thanks for being with us this week.
Boom, we'll be back on Monday.
We'll have a Celebrini reaction show.
Uh, Rhett.
Let's have some trade actions to talk about it.
Some trades.
Okay.
Good.
Jack.
Enjoy night class and all that good stuff.
We'll see you next to week.
Thanks for being with us, buddy.
