Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, the way we go. Another edition of Barnburner, a presentation of Bet365. Official gaming partner of Barnburner and afterburner. The Bames Nation. Yeah, that's right. Game props, player props, totals, the money line, whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary. Bet 365. And we've got the super chat up today.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Did we have, we didn't have a, do we have a lot last year? No, we need to pull over socks, people. Flames win. Let's get on it. Youth centers of Calgary set to benefit, should you so choose to make a donation during the live part of the show in the YouTube comments section. Then we put your comment on the show. So it's something, you know, what we try and do.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Kids get some, you get some. You get some bad comments on the show. It's good. Yeah, it's right. Here we are. Kibbles and bets, kibbles and bets. I'm going to get me some kibbles and bits. Yep.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Did you like to kill her bees? Killer bees. Be Brian Blair and Jumping Jimbrun, Zell. You know, it was kind of one of those things. They were better together than they were on their own. I didn't, I didn't, you know, jumping Jim Brunzel. Like you and whatever, you know.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Just like you and me? Yeah. Yeah, better together. But you know what it was, Ryan? They had similar body types. And they were the killer bees. And you see what the B Brian Blair was the one guy's name. The other guy was jumping Jim Brunzel.
Starting point is 00:01:43 That's a B. Blair, the killer bees. They wore kind of black and yellow striped tights. Kind of like a bee colored thing. Yeah. I thought you were talking about the Wu-Tang Clan. They were different, yeah. Body types were similar.
Starting point is 00:02:01 So somebody also came, they came up with the idea what we could do is wear masks. So then they had black and yellow masks to go with this sort of thing. Stockings, yeah. It led to hijinks and chicanery. because all of a sudden if let's just say we have no idea because they look so similar maybe jumping Jim Brunzel is really getting the the tar kicked out of him like he's really taken a beating but he is he doesn't have the he cannot get a tag can't
Starting point is 00:02:31 Brian Blur is like I'm over here bud I'm come on you got to yeah I'd be so close to getting a tag no I can't get a tag because they pull them back across they cut the ring in half as they would say I thought we were talking about a country Western duo for a while This is helpful that you mentioned tag. Thank you. But then all of a sudden, without the ref looking, they'd just kind of, they'd switch. Oh, you wouldn't know.
Starting point is 00:02:50 But you wouldn't know. So then Brian Blair, who's feeling totally fine. He's 100% resurrected. Yeah. Yeah. Playing possum. Oh, yeah. Laying there sucking the ref in.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Then all of a sudden out of nowhere and maybe even the opponent doesn't know. Yeah. But the ref turns around. I was okay. Maybe grab small package. One, two, three. Hey, unbelievable. Kill me.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Killer B's. And Jim Bruns, I was like, oh, man, good job, Brian Blair. And Brian, we got them jumping Jim. Sneaky. Sneaky, sneakersons. That might have predated my favorite tag team of all time, which was the Bushwhackers. It was before, it was definitely pre. Just a little bit ahead of that.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Yeah. Just before, though, not. Yeah. The WWF 90s era. Yeah. I love the Bushwackers. They're crazy. Well, they did this.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Yeah. When they walked around, they're like licking each other's heads. He was like, right. when he does mushrooms. He was just stomping around, licking people's foreheads and stuff. Wow. Too much. Didn't you say still? Oh, ST.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Oh, ST. Sorry. My bad. We'll now begin with opening statements. And welcome to the McLeod Law LLP studios. We were discussing a number of different things before the show started. We're like, oh, we should have the pre-show. We've always talked about that, even on the radio. Oh, this should be the show.
Starting point is 00:04:11 We should be doing this. should be the show. I never really fully agree with you guys. There's a lot of off-color comments that are made before. It would be wildly entertaining and we would be in a lot of trouble. We have the right people. We're in the right studio. Cloud Lyle L. If we could have some legal counsel. They got our back, right? They're the jump of Jim Berthell.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Because I feel like we could just as easily say those things now. No, no, we don't. platform one of the platforms there was a lot we covered movies yeah good movies classics trips to calona coaching tactics yeah uh baseball skippers shovelers pumped to get out to colonna with all those husbands she's got more husbands i thought she's not her oh okay road trip for her see that's not discreet everyone knows what you're talking about what what's you talking about dina i know i know team player um you were at the rink last night he'd make the team if you're not a team player yeah i was at the rink would you say with one of the nicest humans i've ever met
Starting point is 00:05:23 well dean didn't go i was i didn't make it last night the other corey sorry trip he really is a nice boy he's a saskatchewan boy he's very polite and kind and nice god did he murder people when he hit oh he loved hitting people yeah he just heard the guy he absolutely slobber knocked Yeah, really? Yeah. Oh, that's still one of the heaviest hits I've ever seen. Yeah, that was, uh, and people still will bring it up to him. It's like, well, yeah, then they came back.
Starting point is 00:05:53 He came back. He came back. He didn't even leave the game, that guy. He's in some concussion induced zone. Where the hell were the spotters? Yeah, where were the spotters? Different times. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:06 But would you say that the Saddle dome was buzzing with anticipation? Having a clue. We were there. You were there, though, right? Could you feel there early? It's felt good early. I think the line to get autographs was buzzing. I saw some photos.
Starting point is 00:06:19 It looked electric. It's very good. The line was good. A couple of the Hitman boys were there, bragging up the new coach said he was real good. And you were having, from what I understand, a hell of a time. I was trying to have some personality. Keep it up.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Corey's hard because he's a nice person. Yeah, yeah. Static. Like, look at this. Look at this guy. What in the world? Hey. What is?
Starting point is 00:06:40 I mean, that's, yes, I want not. What could you even see? That's the red I know. Yeah. Yeah. That's how he comes in here every day. Look at the flow. Hey, you guys.
Starting point is 00:06:50 So I used to be a police officer back when you had parties in Elbow Park, Red. Like, what, what can you anyone have actually said there to make you laugh? That's amazing. Do you recall? It is. It's about time. Yeah. It's just.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Get that shit off. No, you look great. Hair in mid-season form. As soon as I saw this. Okay. we need to, that needs to come into, morph into some sort of a thing that we use on a regular basis. That AI guy's going to use that. Oh, for sure.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Yeah, he is. Can we use those today, please? Yeah, he's, he's going to be all over that. Yeah. Dustin freeze in the new head coach. Yeah. Deep freeze. Deep freeze.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Deep freeze. Yeah. Deeper. Ice cold. Yeah. It's endless. It's endless. The possibility.
Starting point is 00:07:35 It's really good. Yeah. What's your favorite snack? out of the freezer, Jack. Hmm. Freezy. Yeah, my boys are freezes. There's close to Jack in age of their 10.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Yeah. They are good, though. It's a demo. They're so good. What's your favorite flavor then? I can't have them around. What's your favorite flavor? My kids go with the white cream soda.
Starting point is 00:08:00 The white cream soda is so good. Purple's good. I'm not a purple guy. Yeah, grape is going to be grape and orange. Ten to fall to the bottom. the reds, the blue raspberry, the cream sodas. White's deadly. The white is sneaky.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Oh, God, it's good. And you're like, what is cream soda? It's amazing. Like cream and soda? No, it's nothing like that. It's just amazing. It's so good. It's like rum and butter.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Yes. So good. Yeah. Butter and scotch. And if you know they're in the freezer, it's just game over. I'm just going to eat. I don't like sweets. I've had freezes in since before we went to Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:08:37 So if you want to pop over. Yeah. over dip you come over for freezes there's we have freezes in our deep freeze but there's somebody thought getting like sugar free or whatever the way to go what's the point oh it's weird they're still sitting in there are they oh yeah weird oh flavored ice awesome can't wait yeah you can make your own you know yeah yeah okay shut up am i a homesteader help me make my old it's no good at all no good at all it's canned peaches i can't peaches did you eat that borsh I did I did Oh, you did.
Starting point is 00:09:10 What? Borsh. I thought for shizzle. It was still in the... I was, and I've been meaning to say, it's a little different than the Borsh that I was familiar with growing up. And you love it. Big chunks of meat, like big cubes, whereas before it might be, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:26 crumbled or whatever, big, big. And my Baba, she would take, like, the shredder and shred. It's like kind of, like you would for, like, like, grated cheese. She would do that with the beats, whereas these, were kind of sliced, chunked. It's very good. Big, great. I like my boor.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Got some dill in there. Lots of dill. Pepper. Yes, sir. When's Rett's deli opening? We should open a deli boomer's sandwich shop would be an absolute hit. There's lots of spots of Mardi Loop open now. Yeah, tons of vacancy for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Yeah. That gelato place. You could move in there in a heartbeat. I think they put stuff in there and then just. They put it in there. They got a sign. and then before they could open, they were closed. Yeah, I don't think they even turned the freezers on for the gelato.
Starting point is 00:10:13 They would have the freezers, though. They spent some money. They never got supplies as far as products. They kept saying, well, should we deliver the gelato today? Not yet. There's a 20-foot crevasse. Yeah. Into, like, I can see, I can see dead people here.
Starting point is 00:10:31 We have an archaeological dig going on. So as soon as it's done. Yeah, yeah. 2030 put it in the calendar keep going calgary who keep going and i i don't think like this is sandwich territory it's too fricking fru fru fru and fancy there's the french sandwich place there's all which i've never eaten from and if you're my wife's they live with actually liked us she's never bought us anything this is bullshit nothing she's bought me the the the old guy
Starting point is 00:11:03 bought you money we had his wife's pie all the time that's true the old producers This guy's useless. You're useless. Jacko's pizza, money. He's a deadbeat. I keep offering to buy boom his burger, but he's on a health kick, I guess. He doesn't eat burgers.
Starting point is 00:11:19 That's what it is. How's your new regime going? Beats and your health care. There's no regime or regimen or anything. You did say that synthetic engine oil was delicious. Oh, delicious. Do you see how golden, take too much that?
Starting point is 00:11:32 Golden delicious it was? Yeah, yeah, yeah. um mcloud law you can talk about the game what game there was a game last night no there's a game we don't want to talk about as well was it the same game no okay it was a game on TV oh the baseball game was no fun
Starting point is 00:11:51 bunch of dumbasses how can I get behind this team they're worse the bills for the heartache they're making something that looked easy really hard what was it like two weeks ago there were five six games up on the and they had shitty teams to play. Oh, Tampa Bay, just crushing. Yeah, they always start with Tampa, whatever reason. There's some drama in baseball. There is. Oh, look at this. Look at
Starting point is 00:12:12 how you wants to talk about it. Yeah, no, no. No, no. It's, you can name five Yankees last week. What I am. I don't want to talk about it. What I am alluding to is a colossal potential collapse by the Detroit Tigers. That too. And the Houston Astros are in the midst of one. The Dodgers have blown, I think, like six save situations, their last six losses have all been save situations. We got that that so for the chargers you got a chart they data they had a lot of a lot of cushion a short amount of time ago yeah and they've just caught you know what frittered i guess they've kind of frittered it away you could get fritters never make them could make them in that motor oil delicious the tigers were 15 and a half games up on the guardians july 8th nine and a half
Starting point is 00:13:02 games less than two weeks ago, the Guardians just secured the tie break. That's Joe Ram. He's the best. Jose Ramirez, so good. 15 and a half. They were unreal. First two months of the season. Nine and a half games in two weeks. You're losing a game
Starting point is 00:13:20 every day. Yeah, it's how many double headers are we playing, boys? Cleveland must be on a heater too. And Seattle was way back of the Astros, and they really reeled off like 12 and 13 or 12. 14 or 12. 14. We'll get the Astros out of the playoffs. Get out. Out. So now all of a sudden, Cleveland and Detroit, identical 85 and 72 records. Cleveland 9 and 1 in their last 10, Detroit, 1 and 9.
Starting point is 00:13:45 That'll happen. There's a swing. Yeah, it's a seven game losing streak for the Tigers. Is they hit by the injury bug, Dino? That I can't speak to, sir. I don't know. Hit by the injury bugged Dino. necessarily.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Jerry's got the boys rolling. They got a bad flu bug going through the locker. But, uh, that's a very different picture than we had. Even a week ago,
Starting point is 00:14:09 Houston was in the two hole. So three hole. You had, uh, Jay's have the tie break over the Yankees. But now there's, I mean, it's a two game late essentially,
Starting point is 00:14:18 yeah. So. But she's, she's gotten snug. This is good, though. I mean, look,
Starting point is 00:14:25 we could have had all these races sewn up. And yeah, you'd be happy if, your fans of those respective teams, but now these games feel incredibly important. Five left. It's kind of, it's already playoff baseball.
Starting point is 00:14:35 It's like watching NBA basketball, where you kind of don't need to watch the whole, like there's a lot that happens before right near the end. Okay. Just tune in for the last couple minutes. I always think the last two minutes you don't need to tune into because it's just fouls and free throws and it saps a half hour for your life.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I guess, I guess, but. Same but different. It only really gets down to, well, what are we doing? Are we,
Starting point is 00:14:56 uh, what they call that? cut shitting or cutting rope or whatever anyway um fishing or cutting base that's where we're at with baseball and if you haven't been watching it doesn't matter because playoff baseball's unbelievable kendraud is tremendous low scoring games high pressure environments yeah and no one's going to be grudgy if you're not i love the guardians do you oh yeah sure sure for the guardians big cleveland guy yeah cheer for the is that where they're from yes the guardians i think it was a uh you like that show Guardians of the Galaxy.
Starting point is 00:15:29 I like the first one. Always. Playful. Yeah. Yeah. Good soundtrack. You never watched? I've never seen one of those Marvel movies.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Oh, you know what? Have your kids watched those? They're getting that age. They've seen a couple. That's a nice. We did that during COVID. Which loved COVID.
Starting point is 00:15:44 It was great. You know, you're in the Florida Keys. I wonder why you liked it so much. All the movies. It was really good. Powered through. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:51 I think we did the Star Wars ones and a bunch of other stuff back then. Kids were younger. Normally we could get COVID back so I could watch some shows. Yeah, I'm dying. Just stay home. You could use the vacation, hey? Yeah, just to hang out.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Well, what were we talking about? Baseball? Baseball's good. Brought up baseball and the, well, you, I think you, so you're inferring that the Blue Jays are. Yeah, we didn't mention that they shit their pants last night against the Red Sox, so that was. Controversy, too.
Starting point is 00:16:19 We've had a tough week of officiating. Foul fare. Foul fare. We have the highlight? We do. You can play it now. It is. We can save it.
Starting point is 00:16:27 We can save it. We can save it. We can save it. talk about the flames game we're going to get to the baseball down the road here stay with us people for the hard don't go anywhere folks we'll be right back yeah people have been waiting for us to talk about the flames for 17 minutes they're gone like these guys are just assholes it's a flames podcast they're wrong they never talk it's not a flames podcast we'll talk about whatever we're yeah i suppose it's a food podcast you don't get to tell us what it is yeah look what's behind boom boom's head
Starting point is 00:16:54 is that a flames helmet no it's not steelers guy we're Biggs. Oh, it is. There is a flame. Samut. You really walked into that one. Whoopsy, Daisy. There's no flames helmet.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Look at it. Oh, it is. Yeah. But it's on the second show. So it's not. That's right. Jack, how the Steelers doing? Did they get to Dublin good?
Starting point is 00:17:17 They're ready to go? I hope so. Yeah. I can't believe you're not going. Did they get to Dublin good? Or to Dublin good. Dublin. My buddy just got back from Dublin.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Said it was great. I wonder if that Irish trucker is. going to swing by the game and teach everyone the proper language when they're visiting. I was going to videotape myself being the Irish truck. It was some. Biker. In front of me yesterday. Did you tell him you'd see him next Tuesday or what were you saying?
Starting point is 00:17:44 Maybe we do need more bike lanes because this ass hat just was right middle of the road. I don't need a bike lane. Did you call him a cone? I bumped him. He got out of the way. Look at this, corn. I saw you this morning. The last two days I have been basically driving side by side with your truck on the way in.
Starting point is 00:18:04 It's a popular rig. It could be anyone. No, saw those flowing locks. And as you were turning off of the Glenmore. It was really speeding. Then you were almost late then. There was the,
Starting point is 00:18:15 yeah. There was the Glenmore where you turn off Glenmore. You go up the thing. Oh, I gave the guy the finger. You got upset there. Yeah. There was finally the light turns green and everyone's turning to get on to a Crowchild North. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Can't help but wonder if that person in front of you was maybe on their phone. I'm 100% positive that person was on their phone. Maybe just a little distracted. That's illegal. Because as I started to, I was in the right lane, you were in the left, you were like, there's a few ways to know what's right. You recognize the truck. You'd see the flowing locks.
Starting point is 00:18:45 You got the boogers on the windshield arm. And then just expletives at the car in front. I'm going under the seat. Under the seat, boogers? Straight under the trap. Okay. Delicious. Shabbler yelled at me yesterday. Put all the boogers under the seat.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Where do you want me to put it? I'll flick it at you. if you keep yippin. Take these boogers to Colonna. Get out of here. If you keep yippin, I'm going to start flicking my boogs at you. That's love.
Starting point is 00:19:10 That's what you can do on your way to Manitoba in a week or so. Yeah. Flames and the awful Seattle Cracken. We really went deep on the Cracken yesterday. Far more than I thought we were going to. That was a Hilton down, apparently. I posted a 30-minute segment on the Seattle Crackin. And we don't talk hockey.
Starting point is 00:19:33 And you know what? Complaining. Pre-season Seattle Crackin. Yeah. Now, to be fair, most of the conversation was about regular season, Seattle Cracken, but it was definitely started with the pre-game, hey, what do we think about this team? But it was also one of those things, too. I think that that conversation set itself up before the show even started.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Oh, more shizzling, dude. I sat down in this chair. Yeah. Not 24 hours and 30 minutes ago, looked to my left and immediately picked up on a vibe. When you get, when you're around in people a whole bunch, you can pick up on some vibes.
Starting point is 00:20:14 There's body language. There's eye structure. There's scrimusiness. You get a feel for people. Yeah, you do. And I kind of muttered under my breath of this show's going to son. And you, the person in my left said, what? Huh?
Starting point is 00:20:30 What to fight about it? It's going to be a good show. You want to fight about it? Do you have it? Did you find it? This is that, am I really having to convince you those were bad signings? This is a, you know? Really?
Starting point is 00:20:47 So I feel between the red laugh shot and this one here. It's a range of emotions. This is the. It's the gamut. I know I'm right. Just ask me. Hey. I will, I'll put that on the tombstone.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Those are not good signings. You guys did great work. No, I think I know I'm right. Just as a matter. That's going on the tombstone anyway. Yeah. That is, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Anyway. But he's very jovial to. Yeah. And we don't have to talk about. Well, I just got a little more in-law time yesterday, which is helpful. That'll do it. When they move in for three weeks, if you don't get enough exposure, sometimes you get a little down, not enough melatonin or whatever.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Well, sometimes they're tired. When they first get here and they're, They don't yip as much as they should. And then they start yipping more and it's good. So then you really get to know what they're thinking. But when Nan steps into a Pinot Grisio at 11 a.m., you know, you can try a good one. Oh, that's pain. It was great.
Starting point is 00:21:44 I mean, it's 11 o'clock somewhere. Probably cocktail hour and Cairo. Go get it. Yeah, that's right. So we can, I mean, it's not a split squad, right? So you could just focus on one game. You didn't need to be thinking, well, where are they playing? You didn't have to pay for Oilers plus.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Another half. Are they playing in Seattle? Can I just focus all of my energy and attention? Your fans are disgust. It's appalling. What is that one again? It's just, does they have to pay?
Starting point is 00:22:11 Is that why they're appalled? Oh, just the whole thing of the fan base. All right. Because the owner doesn't win. It's on him. Yeah, the owner knows that he's got everyone convinced that they have to pay for this BS. That's good. Go get him.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Yeah, Lord forbid you'd miss a Sunday afternoon split squad game. that the Bakersfield Condor is taking part. Yeah. They wouldn't do it. Nope, can't miss that. We're bouncing all around here. Let's stay focused on one topic.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Big match last night. You were there. Having a hell of a good time. Was there any popcorn? There was popcorn, but it wasn't buttered. I mean, it was buttered,
Starting point is 00:22:46 but not freshly buttered. Buttered enough. It's getting soggy. That's just bad. So was it just like they popped in oil with the salt? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Deal?
Starting point is 00:22:56 Sometimes that's enough. And then they had wings. and they had these lollipop type bites. I don't know what the hell they were, but they were pretty good. And then they had the seven-layered dip. And I over did it on that. And I was fortunate because we were there
Starting point is 00:23:09 to sign autographs before the game from 6 to 7. Then we went and sat in the King Suite, which you should rent its great room. A lot of the corner there? Yeah, the bartenders. I don't like that. Spectacular. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Heavy hand on the bartender. Food and drinks. Get handing out hugs. Crushed the seven-layer dip. a bit too much. And again, was fortunate because they,
Starting point is 00:23:34 where we were signing, we went back out because we're going to sign in between the first and second because we're a big deal. Well, and so many people were just waiting. They had to cut the line up. Yeah. Sorry, guys.
Starting point is 00:23:44 The game started around to get to a ret. But somebody put away the table and chairs. Oh, I'll just go. Oh, geez. It's too bad. That's why you're smiling.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Like, yeah. But the game was great. The key to the seven-layered dip. It's not making it. It's the chip. Yeah, it's got to be strong. You need a, because ordinarily if you're having nachos or sauce and that,
Starting point is 00:24:10 chip, it's like the scoops, right, or just the thin, the rounds, you're probably not going to get away with that same chip with. You have a spine on that chip. You do a seven-layer. They got a good chip at the dome for that. They can handle the wear and tear. I mean, you can do the spoon and then. No.
Starting point is 00:24:28 But you're not doing that. Pass me the gray Poupon. You're not doing that. Taking finger food and adding utensils, that's going backwards. We can't do that as a society. You need a good, sturdy chip. But at the same time, something that's not going to just destroy the roof of your mouth. It can't be a slice of Melba toast.
Starting point is 00:24:45 I don't understand those. You're, you know? I'll bet you there's Melba toast at his house. Oh, it's only Melba toast. There's four homes in this room. Who has Melba toast? I don't know that we do. To be honest,
Starting point is 00:24:59 we'd have lots of crackers because Nans in town, but the Melba Toad cheese and crackers. It looks, yeah. That's why they have lots of crack. It looks like a tiny, cute little piece of toast. Oh,
Starting point is 00:25:10 look how adorable. Adorable. Adorable this is. Except it's, I should be skipping this on a river. Like, what did they used to have? What was it called hard tack?
Starting point is 00:25:22 It's just above hard tack that they used to make back in the, yeah, I don't, 1800s when they were, crossing the country and canoes. If the purpose is to eat it, I don't know why you would ever want it to be that hard. Maybe like a 35 layer dip.
Starting point is 00:25:41 That'd be the only reason for Melbatone. Yeah, I mean, you're not worried about anything. Sturdy. Yeah, you're not worried at all. I think you could drywall a house at that stuff. Shingle your roof. Insects would like it. It doesn't hurt people with it.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Fired it Jack when he's not paying attention, bust them wide open. Get a baseball bat made of that stuff? Figure it out, Jack. It's going on over there, Jack. Everything good? Having a day? No, I'm good. I was searching up Melba toast.
Starting point is 00:26:04 I don't know what that is. Oh, boy. I've had it. Yeah, it's just boring crackers. Yeah, you'll see it sometimes on what it is. It's got to be left over junk that they've just compiled them to something and said.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Just press floor sweepings. Yeah. Like, did it start as normal size toast and just eventually slowly? Back to your, back to your, uh, drywalling.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Mm-hmm. because they've got the composite stuff now and that's what, right? Where they just cram, every, that's what they've done with the melbatose. Yeah. They made crackers. They made some writs.
Starting point is 00:26:37 They made some wheat thins. Good ones. Some rice crackers. And then there's some leftover. What do we do with that? Like on one head, it's, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:45 that's ingenuity. It's, we could just sweep all of this stuff up and throw it out. Or we could cobble it all together and weld it and sell it as melbatoast. It's kind of like mopping the floor of a brewery and saying this is a new drink. Why don't you just go ahead and flush that. Well, that one girl in Stampede, she took. Yeah, we
Starting point is 00:27:02 saw that. There's a lot of things that happened Stampede. Now, back still hurts back. Bad, bad choices. Yeah, bad choices. But it was a hell of gain, Dean. I was down there. Too bad you guys couldn't make it. I was hoping to see you. Yeah, give us some notes. What is do? Seats available. Tell us your takeaways. Do you want to do highlight the highlights first or do you want to
Starting point is 00:27:22 give us a synopsis? Synopsi. I don't want to Off the top of your head What you recall from the game Or would you like to see a package of highlights And then react to those First Period Action right here. Rory Karens
Starting point is 00:27:37 Back to the blue line. A quick little wrister. That was a deft deflection I read. You read that. Deft tip from Sharon Govich. No deft leopard. Breakout season coming up for number 17. Flames are on the board.
Starting point is 00:27:54 now tied at one dying seconds on the power play puck's going to come back to parrick quick shot get it on that rebrand out no oh dear that was close they're knocking at the door though they're knocking at the door are they on the paper here dean they are on the paper here in the second rory karen's little off the skate over to zerry back to karen's scores it's a broken play there's no question about it there's a stick and then a stick and a bucket and you know it's not how it sounded to me on the drive home. You got to nail it, though. Bury Cairns got a couple games last year.
Starting point is 00:28:29 How did that poke check work for a good? Speaking of poke checks, take a look. Boink. Zane Perix, who says, can't play D? So not red. Pasha, that's what he said. Now, how about this one? Pinder hates him, but he's quite a passer.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Morgan Frost on the tape through the seam to Coronado. I don't hate Morgan. Right here, Zoop, shot and gold. Zook galore. Zook a lore. Zook. Cuk. Morgan Frost, what is he?
Starting point is 00:28:57 But what's he do well? What does it? I don't put some puck in the basket. He sure can beat the Coachella Valley, whatever they're called. Great shot by Coronado. Little P.K. work. Morton to Hansik. I'm taking this thing to the net.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Nice save. By Matt Murray, who we can discuss. That's the other Matt Murray, I bet. That's right. Nothing like an empty net or Hansick. Morton. Good, Barry. makes no mistake. Nice number. I wore that number. Now you can
Starting point is 00:29:26 rest assured Flames fans. You see the seats there. They can all go home happy. The flames tuck in all 19,289 can leave one victory. So there you have it. Now Rhett your thoughts. Good game. Nice to talk. The kids are coming together with some some real positive vibes and movement forward. Wibes. Got those guys rolling. right karence is interesting because he just puts up points whenever he's up but they don't seem to believe that he's an NHeller in the sense that they're more than happy to bring in the bishops and mortons or see fit others show him with the lineups like he would yeah i mean he would be i would think in that again it's very exciting the fourth line center roll it's the one that everybody wants to really sink their teeth into who's going to be the depth or the extra forward on this team i was going to say something four lines 13 forward yeah I got to listen to my truck on the way down to the dome. Some people that talk serious about flame stuff, and they were breaking down lines,
Starting point is 00:30:30 like, legit for like, you know, the half-hour car conversation we had about two guys we don't give a shit about. Yeah, yeah, with the flames. They were talking top line and weather could stay together and what the expectations were. Can Hubert O get to 75? What are in them?
Starting point is 00:30:47 Well, I'm... And the fact that they got put together, Caudry and Huberto, it was early December. Oh, it was it? Early December, they got beat in Pittsburgh. Right. Last year and, uh, but they got beat six to two. Jack remembers that.
Starting point is 00:31:01 And, uh, and Codry and Huberto combined for the two goals. So they, you know, that was the only positive that came out of the pits. And then they just cruised. And then they just cruxing. Right. So we could talk about that. So it'd be a decent second line, to be fair. It's kind of the problem here, right?
Starting point is 00:31:17 Like if you go put those guys on Colorado, like, oh, that would be a good second line. Yeah. How high does the cap have to go? where Huberto's not. Well, I think the capital rise as theoretically his play diminishes as he gets deeper in his 30s. I just think it's not going to be ever. I've got 75. Sure, but I mean, he hasn't yet here.
Starting point is 00:31:34 No. It would be quite a thing to do the 115 down to whatever it was up to 65, up to, yeah. I don't know, like, he. It's weird because he, he, the reputation. We got here. It's like, geez, like playmaking. not a lot of defense, east west, point producer. They told me yesterday.
Starting point is 00:31:55 And they've kind of turned him into like a checking winger that he's on the penalty kill and stuff. You're like, I kind of want that scoring guy back. I'll just take some guys. We got lots of checking line guys. Well, they told me yesterday on the radio that he works best with speedsters off the rush. It did do well with Declare in Florida. Skates well or did at that point.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Pat Roy doesn't like Declare or likes Declare because they had a meeting this summer so we can't get to. Yeah, Declare's not here. They don't need more wingers. And in fairness, I don't think it's as though Huberto came to town and they told him on day one, we're not looking for offense. No, they didn't at all. There was plenty of opportunity for Jonathan Huberto to flex his offensive muscle. And Darrell was on him before the season even started.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Oh, he's the best passer. He's the best passer. Oh, he was taking a shit. Yeah, I was amazed. He said that. And then I was like, oh, that was sarcasm. Yeah. Oh, we're getting into it before the season starts.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Okay. So then you had to build them back up from nothing into something. And I don't know if the point producing. Can I just ask if that derails you? Is that because you were playing in Florida or because you're soft? Or all the above and Darrell. I mean, I think there's lots of factors. 115 to 55 points.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Biggest drop in NHL history. Injured? No, played one less game. Okay. The next year went from 55 to 52. Again, please. And then last season did have 28 goals. One more time, please.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Thank you. And 62 points. Look, if he was making 6.5 million, but he wants to be here, Ryan. He wanted to be here. We'd love to have him. He wanted to be here. This guy wants to sign, and we got a contract.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Alan Walsh had the team over a barrel, and he absolutely exerted all the... Is that the guy that has the memes? Yeah, he did the Mark Andre Flurry backstabbing clip art. I can't wait for him to come up. one when Hubertel doesn't play. It's not the, because I think we're all having a good day today.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Everyone's in a good mood. It's, is there six years left on this? Five, no? It's horrendous. Oh, no, they're right. It would be. Yeah, because the first one was the last year. Yeah, but he wants to be here.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Dean. I think we were a Calgar. Did we count, there was an off-handed comment made the other day, free show. If you were to bring somebody, say they were maybe in a coma. or whatever. Medical,
Starting point is 00:34:30 miracle, I just hadn't really been watching. Back to life. The sport, but they are hockey fans. They know enough about the game. Yeah. And you slid a paper across the table.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Yeah. Here is a list of all the players in the National Hockey League who make 10 million or more per season. Yeah. Which, like, what are your observations? Because the flames have one of them. Oh,
Starting point is 00:34:52 that's exciting. Okay. That's great. And then you take this person to the rink and they get to watch the flames and now they have to pick the $10 million. Because I just wondered how. how far you'd get it. Would you get to five nose?
Starting point is 00:35:04 Was it hit? No. Hit? No. Yeah. No. Okay. So then that person will take a step.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Is it then? It's like, well, I fucking hope it's not the. Oh, dear. It is. In fact, it's 10. And it's all signing bonus money. It's bio proof and it's got all the new moves. But he wants to be here.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Well, he had 115 in Florida. But then what did he? Oh, no. It's too easy. It's too easy. We love you. Shit. Here's the thing about a 60 point drop.
Starting point is 00:35:40 You got to have more than 60 to be able to do it. You got to be a good player. If you don't want to drop by 60. Never get 60 points. You're going to have. That's not a Clark Wilm problem. You got to produce a ton of points to go 60 less than a. Will has taken some strays from you.
Starting point is 00:35:55 We love Will. That's why you only hurt the ones you love. I could have said Blair Betts. It doesn't matter. I got a story about that. Free show. Free show. Tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Nice. Okay. So analysis from the game, the people you would want to stand out. Now, I know you were talking. Look, Parac is going to be a fascinating watch.
Starting point is 00:36:19 You notice him. He's not Melbatoste. He is not Melvitooste. He is a spicy picante. Yeah, he's a, me, the ball. He's got it all.
Starting point is 00:36:28 It's and you're just going to have, you know what, two hands on the wheel, seat belts on. Yeah. It's going to be a rocky ride. People are going to hate the comp, the comp. There's going to be high. It's going to be lows. It's going to be, whoa, that's amazing. There's going to be a lot of Carlson and Bouchard in there, which is going to scare people.
Starting point is 00:36:46 But again, he's the type of player that could have a 60 point drop because he can actually get more than 60 points in this league. It's the offensive, offensive. Offensive skill, offensive. And there's going to be some adventures defensive. He's got the, he could be one of the, he could be one. of those guys in the circus or whatever, the juggles things that are on fire and chainsaws. There's not a lot of fear there.
Starting point is 00:37:04 It's just, whatever, all right, yeah. You're right on the blue line. There's two guys, are you just going to just, okay, well, sure. All right. That's how you're going to do that. He is going to be amazing to watch, because there's going to be some highlight real plays, and then there'll be some nights where you're walking out of the dome.
Starting point is 00:37:22 You're like, I can't believe we lost because he did that. Man, I think Team Tank, what they really want is just like, get this Rasmus thing done. Don't get off to a hot start. Start taking your calls on your Coleman's and your cadres. These veterans that are still very good at the money they're currently making. They'd be assets that would return a lot in trade, play the piss out of the young guys, see what Zane's all about.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Oh, whoops, it's a mistake in overtime. Well, we didn't get a point. We pick even higher in the draft. Find another franchise center. Like, it's not that simple, but you can see how one half of this fan base really wants this to go. For sure. And then there's the coaches who. The exact opposite.
Starting point is 00:37:58 I mean, they need to coach this player to get better and improve and okay, mistakes. Well, we're going to learn from them, right? We're going to try and turn the corner. We just dial this back a bit, but like, let the horse run, man. We talked about it yesterday, and I don't know if it's the answer because you would said, do you just put him on the second pair with Uighur and just let the... Top pair, shit, yeah. It's like, yes.
Starting point is 00:38:18 If Miramano can live with Uygar for half a year, like, it's not crazy to suggest St. A. Peret could do it. And you know what? Maybe if you got a back-to-back, you slide someone else in. And if it's all too much, you're sending a world juniors, who cares? I thought he was playing with ball. Well, he was last night. He might.
Starting point is 00:38:30 He'd tell World Juniors to go pound cent. He might, yeah. You'd have that right. It was hurtful. It was unnecessary. Yeah, it was. So what did you say? I was just saying he's the most noticeable.
Starting point is 00:38:43 And I wouldn't even say electrifying because you didn't really see that. But he just has all the ability in the world. There was one play. I kind of, it would have been a spit take if I'd have had something in my yipper. And I'm trying to remember because he was on. the blue line, obviously. And whoever was on the wall was looking to pass it back to him.
Starting point is 00:39:03 And he just took his stick. And he's like, no, no, down low. That way. He didn't want this. No, don't pass. No, no, down there. No, no. Playing chess.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Oh, there's a plane check. Holy shit. He's like, no, no, move that down there. That'll move that D over. Then we slide it back and there's an open line. Just whatever. I can try and feed this pass through nine guys. Nope, didn't work.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Okay, scoop back. I got it again. All right. Now, what am I doing? It's going to be quite a ride. It is to repeat myself. again, but I just sat there and watched this, this guy with a ton of talent. And there's going to be some that will not have the appetite to sit and watch some of the
Starting point is 00:39:37 mistakes that are going to be made. That'll be hard. Can I give you a name of one of those people? Like, it might be Ryan Huska. Like, how is he going to be measured on his first NHL coaching gig? And like, people will say like, oh, last year was so fun. And you're like, okay, well, they were competitive and they were in every game, but they painted a lot of barns last year.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Low event, strong structure, lean on our goalie, don't take risks. Like, Zane Perrette does not fit that. Joel Hanley does. So, if Ryan Huska, who's in the last year of his deal, we believe,
Starting point is 00:40:16 is trying to say, okay, I'm one of the lowest paid coaches in the league and I'm making chicken salad here out of, like, do you think he's like let the horses run or he's going to be like, you know what? actually trust Miramanov more on a third pair than correct. What do you say?
Starting point is 00:40:32 Let these wild horses. Yeah, wild horses couldn't drag me. It is. It's the, you'd always rather have the, the rammy young stallion who you try and bring in a little bit than trying to whip the shit out of mules to get them to go. Right.
Starting point is 00:40:48 I don't need, whatever, you've brought up all the names. It feels like there's a lot of frigging mules around. Yes. You finally got somebody. And, I mean, But it doesn't have to change your whole approach.
Starting point is 00:40:59 No, it doesn't. Like for Huska, okay, well, if the guy's making a ton, does, does he sink Huska's ship? Well, I mean, you could have it could also be the rocket ship that helps. It could help power by one. Another two. What was there following up? What was there a shortcoming wash? Well, they can't score.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Yeah. And here's the thing. Like, you're saying, oh, this or that won't sink their battleship. This is a team that lost by a tie break last year. They're looking for any tiny edge they can find. I don't think the rest of the league season is the 96 point league. The sports books don't. as anyone with a brain.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Like, let's be honest. Can they go compete? Yes. Just last year guarantee anything? No. But last year, no one thought they were even close to 96 and they're like, we were right,
Starting point is 00:41:35 you were wrong. So they've got the chip on their shoulder. It's them against the world, which it's very, they missed the playoffs. I mean, no one said they were going to be 96 and miss. Everyone's thought they'd be like 78 and picked up five to 10.
Starting point is 00:41:49 And we had great reasons to feel that way. We all took the under on 81 half points. You know, I was trying to hum and how they could get to 81 and that felt tough. like they come no one exceeded expectations last year more than the flames like maybe columbus could be in that conversation but like nobody saw that coming or stuff those guys in the room so they're going to say we don't care what you think of us we think we're a point away i would think one of the early and it's as we got on me yeah well what are they going to do with parr because he can't go to junior and this and that well can they find a spot in the big club well they're going to find a spot in the big club we move past that point you just keep kind of going past those mile markers and now it's who's the first team power play guy. Yeah. Is it Wager? Is it Rasmus? Or do you put Perik right in there?
Starting point is 00:42:34 You put Wiger Rasmus on the second and sink or swim or just kind of ride that and You're going to watch and play one exhibition game for Christ sakes too. But he's but just without watch, you don't even the skill level alone. Yes, but you still have to see what it. He can make place. We have to have conversation. It's fine. We can have the conversation, but he's played two exhibition games. You're going to know after if you. you more play the piss out of them let's see how you handle it can you do it on your own or like
Starting point is 00:43:02 yeah his play will tell the coach yeah this isn't some it might be perfect so that the other guys aren't getting used as much and he can play that and he doesn't have to be used the defensive zone as yeah and then you know then another conversation that would come in it's like okay well if you're conroy and you know you've made a blood oath with the owner please to trade him before the deadline i don't think there's no there is no such oath i want i thought I read somewhere. Somebody says, it's obvious.
Starting point is 00:43:30 No, Pierre LeBron had the report yesterday. But no, we're just going to get in. We'll see how it goes. And hey, there's not saying extension isn't out of the conversation. Yeah. Well,
Starting point is 00:43:41 they don't want it to be a distraction, but I also think that, you know, if you're setting the odds of an extension versus a trade. But then again, look, we kept thinking of this team
Starting point is 00:43:51 would tell us what they were before the deadline. So what is our approach, if and when they sign Rasmus, Sanderson. What's the number? Are we ordering burgers? Are we throwing chairs to windows?
Starting point is 00:44:04 What do we, do we have? I think his play has a lot to do with it, to be fair. I don't think it does. You just ripped Brandon Montour for making too much and he's being old and he's on the back half. Now we're going to applaud if they resigning. No, it wouldn't be applause at all. But what you would hope is that a guy who played on a broken leg for a month and a half
Starting point is 00:44:24 or whatever was last year, like he looks a lot better. that would, you know, make you feel at least like you're at a better starting point on this deal. But no, it doesn't match their window at all. So just say that. Just when Rasmus is tailing off, these young players will be coming into their prime. So, yeah, it doesn't make sense. Like by the time Cole Roshney is the top two center on this team, Rasmus isn't going to be a top four guy.
Starting point is 00:44:43 So how he starts the season or how he plays should have no bearing. Well, it has a lot of bearing on how they feel about the player and what the trade market looks like. And that has a lot to do with resigning. If, well, I mean, yes and no. His birth certificate doesn't change. with a great start to the season. Correct. Their window to win doesn't change. Do you think Conroy is measuring resigning versus trading?
Starting point is 00:45:05 Because what he's getting offered for in deals would affect, well, maybe we just keep this guy if we're only going to get it. I'm asking you, you just said yesterday that Montour is too old for the amount of money. It didn't match their window. It's not a bad signing. It just doesn't make sense for Seattle. And that would feel the same way about Rasmus and County. So just say that.
Starting point is 00:45:23 So that's what I've said. No, but you're not saying. I literally said by the time Cole Rashi is the top two center on this team, he's not a top four guy. It doesn't fit their window. It does not match the time. Right. So that I said how he plays then shouldn't matter.
Starting point is 00:45:34 And you said, yes, it does. Well, I mean, I don't want them to do it. But you insinuated that if the trade market isn't good enough, they should sign him. No, I didn't say that. I think the team might consider it. I don't, I wouldn't. I'm trading this guy even if I get peanuts. That was the question is what do you?
Starting point is 00:45:48 Right. But, you know, the team's going to have their own decisions. They're not calling the bat phone to talk to me. I can guarantee you that. I just wanted your opinion. I didn't need to understand what Conroy and the ownership. I was curious if we had the same thoughts on. Yeah, don't do it.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Absolutely don't. And that doesn't mean he's not a good player. It's just not going to fit what you're trying to accomplish in the next length of that deal. You started to talk about, well, maybe they're not getting enough offer and return for them. My fear is that the owner and the GM think that this team's good enough to make noise in the playoffs. And they make a huge mistake, which would be locking a guy well into his thing. 30s. I think it'll be 37 or 38 at the expiry of that deal. That's my fear. That's kind of what's happened last year.
Starting point is 00:46:31 I don't disagree. No, I don't disagree. And so that's what we would do. And I think we're all. Yeah, I think it's been easy to say, but it's also easy to say it's harder to commit the owner. Regardless, because we don't have a clue what's coming back in return. Because I was going to say, because we all thought the king's ransom was coming for the other guys. So crystal, you know, put on your Crystal Waters, um, put on your crystal waters, your hypothetical GM hat. Yeah. Let's assume we're, okay, so we're all, we're the three GMs of the team. And we are getting close to the deadline. And the players playing, as you would expect, it's playing well.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Yep. But we don't have the offers that are going to make us happy. These are not good offers. This, I think. So what do we? You can't control the market. And it was a tough year for Connie when he sold D. And last year was a much better year.
Starting point is 00:47:26 I'm just, but I'm just, just, just right. I know you can't do hypotheticals, but just for this, just play along that it's, we've got shit offers. So you're getting a second for us. Not just. Yeah, that's a shit offer.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Yeah. Tough one ever seconds. Not a good deal. Yeah. Do we just take what it just take it to be prospect? Do we just, do we just take it and wash our hands? He's,
Starting point is 00:47:50 he likes it here. Guys like him. We like him. The relationship is good. He's, he's the type of player that we covet. He gives a shit. He cares about the brand on the front of the jury.
Starting point is 00:48:02 It's my fear. I'd hate it if they did it. I could see it happening though. But would you ever, is there any scenario that you would do it? Well, I mean, obviously it's dependent on the number because. Knowing it's going to be big,
Starting point is 00:48:16 then no. If the number's big, you should be getting decent offers. And I understand the hypotheticals that you're not. I think you have to make a decision about, you know, how do you build a sustainable contender? just because the guy's nice and he liked it here
Starting point is 00:48:28 and the trade market soft doesn't mean you lock into eight years of the back nine on a guy. Hence the Montour thing yesterday. Like not a bad player. Literally want to cup the year where he signed. Do you really concern yourself with the no trade? Like I'm thinking of a moment. No trade?
Starting point is 00:48:44 He's going to get one. Oh, yeah. He's not going to sign without one. But does that actually play into it? And at what point, Codry was way too much of money, way to at what point does Anderson become tradable again even though he has a no right doesn't matter if he has a no trade you can figure something out we didn't
Starting point is 00:49:07 yeah there's players that you don't anticipate in there but no trade clause to me is irrelevant nowadays because it a lot of players have it and they still end up being moved if things aren't working out see the Rangers they've done it all those guys they've done always um but no I don't think the no trade's an issue at all I think the issue is that is it an asset that other teams want to take on given the term of the contract you're telling me it's made a big number i think it's absolutely a max term type thing he's never had a chance they had free agency it might be his only chance he's going to take as much guaranteed money as possible there's a lot of things that's a seven year deal i was just just on the on the no train i was
Starting point is 00:49:44 going to say is just they do eight now if that's a trade september 15th one more year changes yeah next year changes september so another year you get one more year yeah not this last just not the other day. What are you doing? This is the last year of the CBA and the agents and players, the PA negotiated not July 1, but September 15th
Starting point is 00:50:03 for that rule to change with date. But it was just September 15th. Back to you, Dean. Thanks, Ryan. For Conroy, there's just a few things that the no trade, it's just it's a little bit more potential for complication
Starting point is 00:50:17 in a deal. Because you would, okay, well, it's, oh, yeah, but we need, we need Rasmus to sign off. Okay, we need to find a deal that we think we like, check. The other team is happy, check. Are we eating money? The owner, okay, well, there's a few things.
Starting point is 00:50:33 It's just, it's another potential hurdle to get over. But if you're getting a second and we're just throwing BS things out there, a second and a B prospect. What the hell difference? But I mean, even down the road. I know. If you get to no trade in this. Yeah, but the standard is that you're not, again, this is maybe why Ryan doesn't like
Starting point is 00:50:49 hypotheticals because we could come up with any hypothetical. Well, you can have McDavid for Anderson. Oh, yeah, we should do that. Right? Like, we don't know. There is a realm of reality of where it's going to slot in. Which is why I went to look at last year's trademark. Like, there's context matters a bit, right?
Starting point is 00:51:05 Like, I just, Brian Dumlin went for a second last year. I still. So much better than Brian Dumlin. Jake Walman got a first. Brandon Carlo got a first in a top prospect. I don't think you're going to be looking at horrible offers for Rasmus because A, cap hit value and B, right shot tough defenders are rare. They just are. Most teams can use them, contenders. So why isn't a deal done
Starting point is 00:51:26 now? Because they think they are good. No. Yeah, they do. The owner thinks they're going to make the playoffs. If you can get, if, if there's first at first plus out there, how is Raz for Santers is still here? The trade deadline is the best time to move for the max return. Two times when you get a lot of teams bidding for the same assets. That's where you get the most in return. It's that window ahead of the draft. Three teams lose a right shot defenseman, Dallas, Toronto and. Yeah, sure. whatever we've had this conversation a lot but also rasmus could get hurt i and so i'll bring up a couple other things that would be of concern for me is you said how much he likes it here no i think he doesn't mind it here if he liked it here he maybe takes the contract that's offered to him already yeah the
Starting point is 00:52:11 six times seven versus right like so to say he loves it here he ain't taken no discount to stay here so i don't know if you can sign him anyway and if you get to the trade deadline and your offer is bs you might have to take it because is he if he's not signing yeah you got nothing and it's the other thing i would say this is a clunky clunky lineup explain well when you start seeing they're not young they're not bad are they old they got bad contracts on old guys that they can't dump they don't have a, I think Breck's going to be really good the way he moves, but
Starting point is 00:52:52 you're not sure what he is. You don't know. And he's a piece you want to build with moving forward, absolutely. Hansick's not going, he might be an NHLer, but he's not going to dominate. He's not going to be a star.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Yeah. So you have no number one anything. Wolf, maybe. Wolf's on their own star at his number one goal. Right? But beyond that, your best prospect is probably a bunch of got some old guys that are good,
Starting point is 00:53:18 but they make a lot. We don't have a lot of high-end talent coming up as youth. It's good talent. It's fine town, but it's not next level. No one's coming out of their seats, talents, right? Like, who's your number? We don't, it's clunky.
Starting point is 00:53:33 It's a clunky lineup. When you talk to the prospect nerds and the drafting community, like the flames have a ton of good prospects. They do not have a superstar process. Like Cole Reshney, great player, going to be at North Dakota this year, center like Ryan O'Reilly smaller
Starting point is 00:53:50 less physical is kind of the comp that that I sort of think of but like it's a number two center ceiling on a good team. They don't have a number one center and they haven't honestly probably since like Doug Gilmore left or Joe Newentai like it's like even when Iggy was here it was like oh you're going to play with Connie who's probably best suited as a two or three
Starting point is 00:54:08 see or it's Oli Okina you're like Jesus he's not the one we thought he was he's a two for sure like it's been the Achilles seal for this club and that just gives more ammunition to team tank. Like it's like if you do not get a chance to select high in the draft, where the hell do you try to find number one centers? Like Morgan Frost during the number one center. No.
Starting point is 00:54:27 He's a middle six center. And he's what those guys coming up behind him, younger than him, are going to end up being in that same thing. There'll be a lot of middle six players in their system, which is great, but you don't have superstars. If you're trying to build a contender,
Starting point is 00:54:40 it's always done around a core of superstars or at least one or two. like the only team that won a cup that didn't have one is like St. Louis. Everyone else had stars. And so they're trying to thread this weird needle where they're like, oh, we can still be, you know, seventh to tenth to the west. It's like, cool. But like, how are you ever going to be a contender for a decade? Like even once.
Starting point is 00:54:59 How? Like, oh, we'll just ride a hot goalie and get lucky, get outplayed and goalie. It's like, that's not a plan to be a contender. That's like a chip in a chair. Yeah, and it's part of just, it's more exciting to watch younger players. Yeah, because they haven't failed you yet. Younger. It's so exciting.
Starting point is 00:55:19 Move out older players. It's not like Rasmus Anderson didn't have, he was part of a team that had a nucleus that, yeah, okay, so that didn't work. All right, we'll move on. And it's probably guilty by association. It's why I was kind of like, signed back one for another.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Okay, so you got three more years of this. Turn this roster over soon. Yeah. You may not get a ton for the, the Coleman's and caution. You don't have, turn it over and take your luck. Because like you said,
Starting point is 00:55:50 you can go for it and have a bunch of old players and spend money and miss. Or you can bring in some assets and get younger and get some exciting, young, exciting younger players and miss. Right. But feel like you're further ahead, even though points total you won't be. But in the life of your franchise,
Starting point is 00:56:09 you definitely are further ahead. Well, you don't want to layer your, your lineup with veterans in the right like right you're already married a couple exactly like the backland thing is not a bad thing if he's your only yeah and because huberto's here for a long time yet and and audrey you don't know what's going to happen with him quadry weger and then another guy that's codry might be a great example of that this the team does think that they're going to try to make because if they weren't trying to make it you could have got stuff from because you not have tried like you
Starting point is 00:56:42 I think you would have heard more of, yeah, they're going to move Cadry. The team tank dream is that this team gets off to a slow start. Somebody around the league loses a right shot. Connie gets his asking price for Rasmus. And then you don't even have to have the chat. It's obvious. You look at the whites of the eyes of Blake Coleman. You talk to Nazim,
Starting point is 00:57:02 Coddry. Do you think Nazan wants to lock in on a team missing the playoffs next year? That's what I was going to say. There's some way. Like, Backlin, I think. When Backlin says he didn't want to leave, I believe that's 100% in his heart. I don't think he wanted to go anywhere.
Starting point is 00:57:15 It's not a shot. I just, I don't think that cadre's in the same boat. It's like, well, if you want to trade me, all right, well,
Starting point is 00:57:21 he's won a cup. Have you a chance to go to a contender? Slot in a two C. That's a real good chance to win. Where, what are you taught? Let's talk about it, I guess.
Starting point is 00:57:28 I don't, I feel like he would far more, far more amenable to a trade than, then, than backland was. And the thing about when, like you say, you say team tank.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Yeah. I always feel like that comes off as, you are looking at a potential outcome, but steering it purposely away from that potential and that probable outcome just to be bad. I don't think that's what this is. The Jay Feaster, intellectual honesty. It's about looking at what it is.
Starting point is 00:57:58 We're not tanking. We're just, we're trying to get better sooner. Yeah. That is the thing that I think a lot of people miss is like, it's a longer time between now and this team being a true perennial contender if you keep these vets around and if you, you know, finish ninth in the west again. Like it just is. There isn't a magic spot in the draft you get superstars, but we all know the closer to the top,
Starting point is 00:58:26 that's a better chance of hitting a star. So if you get off to the slow start and you move those three guys, who now you can get some more Ivan Presvetzov starts in there. And like, you might have top five pick. The flip side is what we saw last year. It's like, oh, we're in, we're in by a point at the deadline. Maybe Rasmus will be our own rental. It's like, in five years, you'd be like reaching back into the past to punch yourself if you had a time machine.
Starting point is 00:58:48 I didn't trade geo. Totally. At least they were like had a semblance of a contending core at that point. You had control. You had Lennon. You knew he was moving, though. You could have traded them and they weren't making, well, anyway, I'm giggling because the last time this team was perennally good, Lanny McDonald was on it. That's wild.
Starting point is 00:59:07 Like, I'm sorry. That's the truth. Early 90s and they flamed out in the first round. Yeah. Like they never went to the playoffs back to back years with the control. They had talent. Bennett core. They didn't.
Starting point is 00:59:18 You know, they got fluked in in a COVID best of five playing series against Winnipeg, but they weren't a top 18 when that season got canceled. Carrey Ramo. Yes. You've got the goalie. Find some other pieces to build around. I think it's easy to convince fans that have watched his team for decades of that.
Starting point is 00:59:37 The hard thing to do is to convince an owner. and say, look, like, people are going to want to buy less tickets. You're going to make less money. In all reality, too. And it's not a shot that, like, they have to, that has to be a major consideration for the organization. They've got a new barn coming. Do you think they're going to be handing out tickets to that?
Starting point is 00:59:54 Two years, you're going to be asking a lot more money for the same beer, the same seat, and the same jersey skating on the ice. It better be a better product. See, that's all the more reason for me that you better do it now. Agreed. And to be able to show, yeah, we're going in the right direction. And if you want to be part of it. it sign up because we now have it as opposed to I'm going to hang on to this and try and steer
Starting point is 01:00:18 it until we get it. Maybe we're good enough. Maybe. But that just feels like the way it's always been here. Correct. Is we're going to try and squeeze a little bit more because yeah, we might maybe if things go, maybe maybe if we could just the only time that it really kind of happened is when they were already partially it was like right in front of it. Oh my God. choose to do it. They were, they inadvertently rebuilded because they were so bad because they did what we're talking about now, which is keep all these old guys around. You're expensive. You're capped out.
Starting point is 01:00:49 You're not good enough. And it's like, oh, shoot, I guess picking, you know, Bennett at four and Monaghan at six and Kachuk and say, yeah, that's, we didn't mean to do this. We just screwed ourselves into it because we were fooling ourselves about how good we were. They moved Kipper, Iggy.
Starting point is 01:01:05 Boeaster. For nothing. Yeah, Beaumice and Joe. I know, but I'm actually saying Geo. Sure. They're captains, their stars, their major pieces. Nothing to show for it. Nothing. Overplaying your hand.
Starting point is 01:01:20 Rito Barra and Mark Kandari. At least you flipped Dorito for a second. But yeah, like it's, that's not a return. Here's another angle to think about it. Like, let's say this team is ninth in the West good. I would understand management saying we just can't do it. Like, we've got to give this team a chance to get in.
Starting point is 01:01:39 We enjoyed watching last year. We were, absolutely. You're right. You cannot pull the rug out from a team that's putting in the effort and giving you a result. And so are we to just assume that Nazim Khadry is going to look the same for the next four years? I don't. Or do you feel like it might be peak trade value right now? I would have done it already.
Starting point is 01:01:59 I would have traded. Because the moment you start to see that father time kick in, the trade offers going from tangible return to like who's doing who the favor. Yeah. Now you're adding, we're going to eat all of the contract and give you a third. second to go with them. There's that team. The 2011, I mean, it's over a number of years.
Starting point is 01:02:19 But you sat there. And so we've got a good team. Look at the players we've got. These guys are. Look at these name bars. And you're watching. Jerome was still here, but Oliokan and Tangs near the end, and Stemniak and Stajun and Reni Bork and Blake Como and Chris Butler and Tom
Starting point is 01:02:38 Kostopoulos. Like, what the f? This team is not. getting better. I can hear I can hear them getting older from the bench. It's just what? How many of those guys were even near their prime? Can we please turn this roster over?
Starting point is 01:02:53 Get some, because we we've been doing shows a long time. It's like I would rather watch kids go out and give a shit and lose than watching old guys making all the money that they've made all their money and they got nothing left in the tank and they're going to go and lose. Throwing on a title supervisor out of them. And you can
Starting point is 01:03:09 give last year's team all kinds of credit for showing up and competing and playing well. But it's the same type of scenario. And the only reason they get the credit is because there was zero expectation. Like that roster, and the 32 teams in the league was not expected to do shit. Good for you for doing better. But the truth of the matter is you had to overcome.
Starting point is 01:03:36 You had to play above your capabilities really. You exceeded expectations. Yes. And miss. Get there. Yeah. And that's a great. thing in sports. That's why we love it.
Starting point is 01:03:46 There's underdogs and there's runs. But that's your roster. The only reason we're proud and happy of you is because you exceeded expectations. Yeah. And I just want to say not to confuse that team that I just rattled those names. That's not what we're watching
Starting point is 01:04:04 here. But it's that mentality. It's well, if you've got back then now if you're entertaining a Raspis Anderson extension plus Weeger plus Huberdow, that might be closer than you think. Yeah, I agree. In a cap world with big money. That's the big money.
Starting point is 01:04:22 And the flip side, all this cap space you've got coming into a new building. Like, you'll be able to market this city to free agents better than you ever have. And yeah, there's no seemingly superstar in the waiting. Perrick will find out. Connor's area I liked last night. He's still a guy that just. I think he's a good hockey player. But again, they're not.
Starting point is 01:04:43 So go to, go to. Yeah, go to Chicago. They have Badaard. Go to San Jose. They got Celebrini and they got Smith and they go to go to Anaheim and look at their youth. Those are future stars potentially. We're talking about good core pieces but not stars. Like which player on this roster outside of the crease are you're like,
Starting point is 01:05:05 that guy's going to be a star when he hits his prime? Who's a threat for an offer sheet? Nobody. which is a rarity anyway but you know what I mean usually you have to have someone good enough that the other like now it's not always the case and there's sometimes offer sheets for guys that are more middle of the past year or something
Starting point is 01:05:25 awesome now the flame is just going to match anyway so it's kind of it's more complicated than just saying I know but that's your point there just isn't like this now that guy is going to be a star watch out like there there's no demidov Mishkov they got wolf signed that would be your one risk yes it didn't in net that your guy like that's that's that's your best shot of the stars your goal and he's a guy and we've talked about it oh he's a late round pick if you want to view him as a high first round pick if that makes you
Starting point is 01:05:53 well you had zeri's a first round or coronado's a first round or parrick you classify wolf as a first round talent he's an he's six two he goes the impact yeah and regardless but just the impact he's going to give you in wins versus losses is going to be what you would expect to get out of someone who was drafted in the high first round. So you've got that guy. Yeah. Gravy. They've never drafted first overall. Like I don't know if that's unfortunate or by plan or it's just it's some bad lottery.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Kind of crazy when you think about it. Because like you say, that's not like they're really like they're winning division after division. It's not that. Jack, AI, this. How many teams in the NHL have not drafted first overall? I think they're the only team that's picked in the top three. Really? I believe so.
Starting point is 01:06:41 Like in your ever. And you're like, oh, are they an expansion team? Did they come in with Vegas? When they come in? Obviously Vegas wouldn't be in there because they've been great. But like you're talking about four decades and never once you got to have a top three pick. Yeah, that's crazy. And it's because of this, in my opinion, in willingness to tear it down a little bit more.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Like we're not talking you have to trade weager. You're certainly not going to be able to trade you. We're not saying get rid of wolf because then you're really bottom up. What we're saying is just play the asset management game a little better. What's Nazim worth today? What's he worth in two years? What kind of player is Rasmus right now? What's his trade value?
Starting point is 01:07:24 What will it be in three years if he's making X? Like just play the asset management game and make better bets. There's no guarantees you get a cup at the end of it all. But if you start going in on twos and sevens versus aces and kings, you're not going to win as much. Two and sevens are no good deal. It's the hello Calgary. We're standing in poker. It depends how things are.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Sometimes you need it to 70 green. And then, because I hear the other side of the argument, and we won't move on. Why? Because we got more to talk about? I got the Pinder report. Oh, yeah. Slat.
Starting point is 01:07:52 I'm dying for it. Well, look at Buffalo. They've tanked and look what it's not. Look at Ottawa. I think what that is, all I say is, I think that's more of an indication as to still how hard it is. You can bottom out and have high picks and do things. And I do, because I think that's,
Starting point is 01:08:11 the right way to do it is to get high picks and draft star caliber players it still might not work out i don't think it's not linear i don't think it's an indictment against the process of rebuilding and having a lean years to get high picks and get better i just think it's still how hard it can be and i will say if buffalo was a well-run team that made good decisions from the owner and management level is it taking this long so just be better than the pagula own team that put a guy and the GM that never worked in hockey ops and the four coaches the Jack Eichl had before he moved or the pierre Dioraffty and Melnik of all that
Starting point is 01:08:49 like trade Jack Eichl for an absolute rock bottom moment of his value argue with the star player over a surgery that wasn't that wasn't that controversial like people forget it wasn't just Buffalo like it's hard well okay it's not easy but that was the most inept team in the league for most of the decade now Christ didn't they stop scouting
Starting point is 01:09:10 They went to a full video one year They didn't even stick with that They went back to something else If you want to compare yourself to Buffalo You had better be better than them Yeah And how many team times If we made the playoffs
Starting point is 01:09:21 And the 14 years the Sabres have it Probably like six Maybe how Yeah That feels high Yeah I think the Johnny probably Probably every other year
Starting point is 01:09:29 For his time here Right Ooh Three I'm thinking No 14 16 You got to remember The point
Starting point is 01:09:37 The point is It's not like Yeah There's no way it's half the time. Six is less than 14. Like it's 15 year drought, 14 years. Like I'm saying six. Let's just do it.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Sure. Again, the point being that it's not like it's been worlds better. No. And what do we? Wow. I mean, yeah, it's the middle of the pack versus rock bottom. It's certainly not like, wow, look, look what the flames managed to accomplish in this 15 years. Absolutely no.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Crystal waters plumbing and heating before I saw you on. Actually, it might have been after. You were speeding on the old highway there today. we were late. If you weren't speeding, you don't care. How can you be late for a podcast? Five times.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Five times since 2012, 2015, 17, 18, 20 and 22. That's more than I thought, actually. But it's still.
Starting point is 01:10:26 Not enough. No, it's very mucky middle. It's 15th to 25th in the league. It's not awful, but it sure isn't good. It's not like copy what they did. You know,
Starting point is 01:10:37 steal answers off their sheet. No. And as you've also ripped through a lot of coaches in those 15th. 15 years. It hasn't been like, Jesus, how many, from the tons of coaches, Hartley, Galtson, Peters, Jeff Ward, like back to Daryl, Huska. Like, that's not a sign of a team where things are going right when you're rotating coaches every two and a half years, two and a third years. Not great, Bob, not great, but not bad either. Yeah, I was going to say when I was driving,
Starting point is 01:11:10 and I see it all the time, across the waters. It's like, hey, there's a Crystal Waters van. They're around. Look how safe they're driving. Better than rent? So, two hands in the wheel. Ten and two? Nicely dressed, sharp.
Starting point is 01:11:26 You get very professional. Car covered in mud or clean? Oh, very. Vans. Pristine, yes. Those are the people you want taking care of your house. You try and find a Crystal Waters maintenance vehicle that's got mud or dirt on it. They won't stand for it.
Starting point is 01:11:41 No chance. I don't know if you know that. I saw the truck today. I see what I see. I see you too. I'm going to get canceled. I saw a dirty truck. Dean was lying.
Starting point is 01:11:59 403-219, 4100. Check them out crystal clear, Calgary.com. Yes, summer coming to an end. Fall here, winter coming, cold weather, furnace, air conditioners. They're blowing those out. You want to deal? You think maybe get ahead of it.
Starting point is 01:12:12 I'd be the smart thing to do. That's something that we wouldn't do. Yeah, we'd wait till it's 33 degrees next June. Yeah, actually is. Just full glass. So in the air conditioners. AC'd be nice about now. Get ahead of it.
Starting point is 01:12:24 Or wait till we're in full toque and midst in the living room because the furnace conced us. Probably should have had somebody to look at that, eh? Maybe should have had a cold in here. Probably figure it out. Probably figure it out. Crystal waters plumbing and heating your crystal clear choice for home comfort. And now getting into and we've been talking about it.
Starting point is 01:12:43 A heater for your green. Parage parking inside with a heated. It can't. It sounds. That's like the dream of the day. It's like flying first. That's elite living. It doesn't need to be.
Starting point is 01:12:53 It's super easy. It's affordable in Crystal Waters, a solution for all budgets, including financing and affordable payment plans. Find out more again, crystal clearcallagory.com. And they'll show up with one of those squeaky clean maintenance vehicles, sharp dressed guys and gals doing the work.
Starting point is 01:13:10 Take care of you. Yeah. It's reassuring for sure. You get it right. Yeah. Feels good. Speaking of squeaky clean, I saw your vehicle out front. It's like the tires are greased up.
Starting point is 01:13:19 The rims are shiny. It's you didn't do it. So I didn't. Like there's no chance. I absolutely paid someone to do that yesterday. And I'm like, well, I haven't watched it for four months. So I should probably pay a little more for the. Like there's some things in life.
Starting point is 01:13:33 Oh, I wonder. Never a doubt. Ozzy Nan didn't. No. You know, uh, Ozzy Nan's husband would be great. I should have got him on the case. Damn it.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Yeah. But I was doing a little schmoozing with some partners of Afterburner. Oh, yeah. They're right across the street from said Garwashed. Is that right? Getting stone with two birds. You know what they say? No, you're getting stoned.
Starting point is 01:13:57 Not sure that's the same. Two birds of the one stones. I'd love to get stoned with two birds. Pender report. Jack? It's a good looking ridge line up there. It's a good looking ridge line with, yes, very clean, the rims and everything detailed right up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:16 Pinder's detailing service. Call now at 1-800. No chance. We're booking into 2030. Yeah. No chance. Bill and Chonda presents Pitter. Fellas, let's get to Flames Nation.
Starting point is 01:14:32 See what's going on with the flames. Oh, instant reaction by Pike. Oh, I like instant coffee. 2135 Mountain Time. Can't wait. Must publish now. That's right. And there's Zane Perra.
Starting point is 01:14:46 A lot of, taking on the crack it all by himself. Yeah. Some shifts, yeah. Guess I'll do it all. Now, do I have to bring up his tape job here?
Starting point is 01:14:55 Am I seeing this picture wrong? That looks like a foul. Is he taping just the toe? What's wrong with that? Just the toe. My kids piss me off. They have one scratch on this. This is where you know they're spoiled brats.
Starting point is 01:15:06 They have one little nick on the tape. Mm-hmm. No. Well, there are probably some high-flying scoring snipers. Oh, yeah. Talented with the buck. Mark Flames Nation, you can dive into the summer extensions of which there were a few. We saw Zeri get done.
Starting point is 01:15:22 You saw Matt Coronado, long-term deal. You saw Dustin Wolfe get locked in. Michael Backland, a two-year add-on with the captain of the club. All right. Look at those if you'd like as well. It's another, go ahead. Look that short. He's well above the crossbar.
Starting point is 01:15:37 Yes, all those are kind of there by there. Yeah. I think it is probably just if we need a Dan Vladar next to him to put it into. context it's not like he's a small human he's just not a giant which moat scolies on that's quiet it down hey giants no they were real no i mean the uh well's too short giants yeah down in patagonia they have giants in patagonia they used to what happened to them kept banging their heads on door frames yeah they just got tired of it yeah they bred them out bred them out b r e a d too much carbs i don't know bar loading they were celiacs
Starting point is 01:16:16 Yeah, couldn't handle the bread. Cholesterol went through the roof and they just started dying. Terrible story. I'd love to keep talking about giants and bread and giant loves the bread, but we can't. Back to you, Ryan. It's a game day. Another one. What?
Starting point is 01:16:29 I know. Red. Oh, my God. Back to the door. Red. This topic yet. Brett, fuel the PJ and get your ass out to Abbotsford. Oh.
Starting point is 01:16:37 Perak doesn't out play that Hughes kid. We should trade them. Bibles, berries, and bullets and some hockey tonight. Abbotsford. We got it all. It's not very nice, Ryan. All those things are there in large numbers. Here's the schedule for the remainder of the week, for us, at least.
Starting point is 01:16:57 Us? The next week. Or the world. I'm not working on Saturday. Yeah, Rett's coming in Saturday. He's doing a pregame show. That's in Winnipeg. Six o'clock Mountain starts tonight.
Starting point is 01:17:06 I got to go to the hat. Now, you're going to like this, Dean. Eight o'clock start tonight. Oh, good. Yes. Because you'll usually be done your nap by then. and struggling to get to sleep. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:18 Yeah. And then Monday at the crack, another 8 o'clocker. Great. Can you watch these games anywhere? Yeah, some of them. Some of them. It's cooler today. You can make soup and watch the game tonight.
Starting point is 01:17:30 I would suggest we get a regional sports night broadcast tonight. Maybe the Canucks team doing this one. We'll see. He'll be on the internet, Rhett. Yeah. Googs it, man. No, I can't trust. I have this VPN and it won't want.
Starting point is 01:17:44 Turn that off. Now, I... And they'll get my Bitcoin. Are the flames in mid-season form? Well, no, they're in preseason. They've got to figure out the roster. The vets are ramping up. Rookies are trying to hang around.
Starting point is 01:17:55 I will say some of the Flames fans, mid-season form, impressive stuff. You want to say something nice? Oilers suck. Let's go Florida. Yeah. I'm a huge Florida fan. Does you know Edmonton stinks?
Starting point is 01:18:15 Oh, kids say the darndest things. won't they? Oh, shucks. Did you see that kid's hat? That's Glenn Lake. You know that boy. I do know that kid. I don't want to say his name on the internet, but that kid's beauty. You should talk to his parents. He's a hybrid. He's a skating and goliant. His kid is very spoiled. Who is this guy in the jersey? I was going to say, he looks like an Oilers Nation, Monson. Is that one of our co-workers?
Starting point is 01:18:35 Can we rip on him? I hope not. I don't know that I've seen the dress shirt, backpack. Oh, you got to do it. High and terrible jersey combo. That's something. He's definitely working. Yeah, the backpack would suggest he's got some more paraphernalia that's important to his job. Mm-hmm. It's probably not, probably doesn't have a bunch of chips and twizzlers in there.
Starting point is 01:18:58 Is he got a tie on? Yeah, he's, um, now why would you need a, Are you S talking this guy that actually tries to attempt to look good? Yeah. Well, I mean, in Edmonton, that's a fine looking fellow there for sure. Are those high tops? Because at Edmonton and Prince Albert, they always wear high tops. Is that right?
Starting point is 01:19:17 Mm-hmm. Okay. See, his shoes. Jack, we find his shoes. The only hole in the theory is, I feel like somebody like that would tell the kids to F off. He'd have no problem cursing out the kids. Are those the old man new balances?
Starting point is 01:19:30 What are those? Are the Air Nike? Yeah. A lot of selling shoes. The monarch. Yeah, the Air Monarchs. The new balances are great. Yeah, we got some dad energy, but I also don't think he's dating. I don't know. I feel like you might be single with that energy.
Starting point is 01:19:46 Okay, we'll move on. Just chinty, cheap shots from the, top guys we get some hockey that almost matters let's get some highlights old friend dean old friend now everybody who's over with the bruns run them out of town garnet the old zad dog well it's not darned half the defenseman zadorov good job by roberts and hustling back and then zed doroff scores it's overtime and we'll see you later they're fired up for the preseason right to get back for some clam chatta Yeah, that's MSG because that's where the, if you're, I've been off those doors with a pulled groin.
Starting point is 01:20:25 It hurts so bad, but I shouldn't have went out that way. Because you can go through the benches too. Yeah. It hurt going out the doors, what are you? No, but I popped my groin right there. Oh, out. Right there in that slot. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Because I was joining the rush, Ryan. Of course you were. Yeah, just like that's just like that. Joining the rush. Ah! Oh! So I limp-bisked it. to the bench.
Starting point is 01:20:50 I don't know what that means. And I was already at the bench and I could have just went through the benches down the hallway and not interrupted the game and had to open the big gates and make it fully. But I like attention. I look soft. Yeah. I'm hurt. Do we miss the Zad dog and is the roller coaster that was his existence in Calgary talking his agency and he's the best defenseman in the team? He got paid guys.
Starting point is 01:21:15 He's a brun. I don't miss him because I think it's great for Boston to. have him at that number. I agree. What a song that is. Yeah, it's a bit of a cautionary tale in a way because he was a big, highly thought of first rounder with ability and then, you know, some nights he's awesome and other nights he really does frustrate you and, uh, you know, just saying. Well, he wasn't getting appreciated enough. He didn't, he felt like he needed more. And now on his sixth team, I think he's being appreciated just the right amount. He was. was in Buffalo. That's right. He was the first round
Starting point is 01:21:51 same year they took the other big defense. That's not great. Yeah. That could have gotten better in that draft class, huh? Hey, we got some four or fives and sixes here. They probably don't want to get into draft grades. You love drafting. Oh, I do. I'm just saying while we're throwing hand grenades.
Starting point is 01:22:08 Oh. What was I just trying to entertain the people, Dean. Speaking of which, back to you, Ryan. 40, big number, the 4-0. Jack's almost 30. here's some people that are 40 let's check it out TNT and their broadcast team through the
Starting point is 01:22:23 TNT there's the goat Alex Ovechkin on the left who has the most goals in its show history and then on the right there's Paul Bissonette who got gout from eating too much steak different paths to 40s
Starting point is 01:22:36 that's his workplace that is doing that's a friendly I like that that's like our show taking runs at each other yeah he got the goat he does look quite a bit younger than Ovi but not quite the same talent level. He might be dipping. When you dip, I dip.
Starting point is 01:22:53 We dip. He might have a little hair dye going. Who, Biz? Maybe. You didn't have that five on one tilt with the gypsies. That was kind of cool. Keeps himself a good shape, takes care of himself. Maybe that's part of the...
Starting point is 01:23:08 Do you have the lineup for tonight? I'll get on the bet three six. Yeah, hang on. We'll get to bed 365. Settle down. Also, birthdays, let's keep moving. This is not a player, but, oh, he's a player.
Starting point is 01:23:21 Let's see. Chippin, birthday, too. You. Hipid, birthday, too. You. Hepeen, birthday, too. Gritty? Chippin, birthday to you.
Starting point is 01:23:49 Hippie. That, the whole thing there is kind of like gritty. all in one. When it started, it's like, I don't know if this is very good. This is it great. And then by the end,
Starting point is 01:24:00 love it, laugh. Yeah. I think that's Mishka with the hippie. Oh, it is Mishkov. Because remember, when Gritty was debuted,
Starting point is 01:24:09 everyone thought it was awful. It's the worst mascot in the history of course. Got in the ice, slipped and fell like that fat anthem singer in Vancouver. Remember he took a tumble? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:17 It's like this gritty thing. They're going to have to put this guy out to pasture after night one. Two weeks later? stuck with it. greatest mascot of all time. Gritty. It's just getting it all kind of.
Starting point is 01:24:27 They could probably make millions. Just having the gritty account. The gritty. Is that what we need, Jack? Masked to show mascot. That's supposed to be Jack, but he half-assed.
Starting point is 01:24:37 I thought I was the show mask. Ours would be called shitty. That's the only difference. You're going to get on those party bus to the Cavs game. We got a mascot. All right. You're Jack's laugh there. Like,
Starting point is 01:24:47 cut him out of way. That was good. Do you like that? Because it rhymes with gritty, Jack. I know. Don't take a sip of coffee. I might get you again. then you'd be scummoing equipment.
Starting point is 01:24:56 Careful. I'm going to Canucks. Let's go to the Blue Jays. Uh-oh. Are you taking the Canucks? Oh, right. Minus one over here. It's probably Prosvetov.
Starting point is 01:25:08 You saw his mask. Somewhere around the poo paper commercial in the background is an umpire and his crew making bad calls. Let's observe here last night in a game that felt pretty big. Oh, is there a toilet paper out? I can't see it.
Starting point is 01:25:21 Yeah, exactly. Done that a lot this year. That's it. Fowl, says third base umpire, Scott Barry. Boo! That's good. He always cameras can't review. He doesn't like it, and he's coming out to talk to the whole plate umpire and the crew chief,
Starting point is 01:25:38 Doug Eddings to say, can you guys talk about this? Are you sure? Here's a look at it from George Springer's perspective. One bounce in front of the bag. And then it looks like it goes over the bag. And in the third basement, Bradman dives and Barry was... Well, it was only a one-run game,
Starting point is 01:25:58 and two men on in scoring position. Tats. And the good news is it didn't stop there. Here's the two-two count. Next pitch. It was over the bag, but it's a strike and again, not reviewable.
Starting point is 01:26:09 Oh, boy. Back to back, Jack. It's one of my buddies that played in AAA said, that's getting cornhold twice in 45 seconds. Ouch. springer should be got to shake that stuff off uh you ready the team didn't they lost four to one the yankees though were down heading into the ninth
Starting point is 01:26:34 and of course tied the game with a wild pitch and then walked off the stinking white socks the lead is now one game technically but actually too because the jays on the time break this is not over dean popping bottles this is not over the yankees are popping bottles last night they want to see oh yeah you love to see There's lots in play here. Houston, they could still
Starting point is 01:26:58 theoretically even finish aside second in the AEL. They could miss the playoffs. They could be in the wild card. Detroit could fall out. Cleveland and Seattle, who spent no time amongst the division leading this year. All of a sudden, they're both there at the end of it all with five games left.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Got some baseball that matters left. You don't have to just tune in. There's your odds for tonight's two games that affect with Jay's. Yankees won back. They'll throw Max Fried, who's quite good, heavy favorites. And the Red Sox A, Scurrett crochet. He's nasty.
Starting point is 01:27:27 He's a lefty. He's favorite against Max Scherzer and the Jays. Yeah, great. I just bet the Jays. Hey, the underdog won last night. You can always take solace in that. Maybe it's a trend. Sonny's Crockett on the mound.
Starting point is 01:27:39 I'm not getting on this Blue Jays train now. Are you not? Come on. It's very fair weather. Go, go, so they win tonight and walk off the socks. Yes, he's back. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:48 It is a game day for them, and those are the two that Jays fans will be watching. today. Thursday night, there's only a day away. And boy, do we have a football game. It's Arizona. Seattle and Seattle. It might be okay. I think they're actually pretty decent team, right? Seattle's D's been flexing. They haven't really been using Kenny Walker that much. It's been the Sharbonation. Well, Sharbonate didn't play this week because he was in. Kenny Walker got amazing last time. Yeah, he got touchdowns in each of the last two weeks. So they started the season with Sharbony. Now you got some Kenny Walker. Thanks, guys. me up.
Starting point is 01:28:23 Zach Ben. Kyler runs around at an incredible rate, Harry. He's always, you know, he's like a video game. Yeah, he is.
Starting point is 01:28:29 Yeah. And loves video games. So there's that. Yeah. Maybe that's how it ties in. Tray, Benson is going to be your starting running back for Arizona. James Conner.
Starting point is 01:28:36 Tees and peace. See you. James Connor. Former Steeler, Jack. Brother Steeler, great, Jack. Great Steelers.
Starting point is 01:28:42 Same with nausey. This actually looks like a close game. That's true. So two former, former Steeler running backs went out. Same week. Same day. Sheesh.
Starting point is 01:28:51 That's, you know what that is. it's good match, but I guess for the Steelers. Great match. They're so smart. Point and a half. I believe this opened it.
Starting point is 01:28:57 Minus one and a half for Arizona. I quickly swung over to Seattle side. Seattle. Seattle. Seattle's been okay. They have. J.S.N. has been. Because wasn't Bill,
Starting point is 01:29:06 a little hansy on the sidelines? Bill. Seattle. Belichick? Yeah. Yeah, he was in love. Love was blinding.
Starting point is 01:29:16 Yep. I think also that might have been AI. Right. There was some AI stuff. Bill and his girlfriend. Yeah, but I don't trust AI. Well, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:29:26 Do you have any bell drops? He said about eight of him. That might have been AI of him getting hansy. What was that line, Jack? I would be hansy if I was. Settle. Could you put that back? Do you still have it?
Starting point is 01:29:40 I wasn't paying attention. We were talking about. Seattle favor by a point of half. Let's pull it back up. Look at the over under. I feel bad. Even money for Arizona minus 120 for that. See on this?
Starting point is 01:29:53 Yeah. 43 and a half. Okay. So you're looking at a 2221 type. You know who's no good is Marvin Harrison Jr. useless. One of the worst drops you'll ever see on the weekend. Do you want a 70 yard touchdown, son?
Starting point is 01:30:08 It hit him right in the hands wide open. He said, this is the only guy that's ever happened to. It was horrendous, dude. There's been a lot of them. There's no defending it. Atrocious. Coming off a rookie here where he did. Not meat expectations.
Starting point is 01:30:24 Marvin Harrison looks like he's very freaking average. It does not look like the guy that went as high as he didn't. You want to trade for him, Red? I got him. Oh, Marvin Harris. Yeah. I got a lot. We got a big match this.
Starting point is 01:30:38 We didn't talk about that. Oh, this week? We got to put. Did you see what happened on the all? I'm going to write it down. Don't peek. No spoilers.
Starting point is 01:30:46 No spoilers. No spoilers. No, we do it tomorrow. Retch. That's not great God. Starvin. It's late. Where do you have to be?
Starting point is 01:30:51 I'm buying you a burger. We have a meeting after this wreck. Mug shots. Oh, good day for mugshots. I got a 130. I'd have a garlic breath. It would not be great. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:31:01 To pickle breath. Stamps from Montreal. We know that. We told you that yesterday. Cabs are in Ottawa, so the summer teams are on the road this week. And I feel like it's time we check back in with the Aussies. It's been too long since we went down under on the Pinder report.
Starting point is 01:31:17 Because we have different sort of exterminator needs here. they do in Australia. I don't think we needed to go back down. So guys, we've got ourselves two male carpathons here that are fighting. They have fallen through here, which means there will be a female in the roof, probably I'll be up there somewhere. I'll jump up there in a second, have a look. But these two boys, I'm going to very, I'm going to explain to you. This is a perfect example. You've got two male carpet pythons here. Now you can see they're intertwined around each other they don't care about anything that's around them and right now they're just trying to dominate each other and push each other's heads down so what I'm gonna
Starting point is 01:31:57 I'm just going to hand you this if that's okay yeah you just keep holding there like that and you just face it that way and I'm gonna walk in here and I'm just gonna scoop these two boys up because they're shooting pretty easy they're probably gonna keep keep going you're not even worry about me I'd say no they're aware of me Anyway, I'll get these guys in the back. Here we go. One, two, that's pretty cool. In we go, boys.
Starting point is 01:32:25 I'll probably keep doing there fighting in there. So what I'm going to do? I'll, yeah, let's jump up in the roof. All good. Let's step number two. No big deal. Just get up in the roof and find that female. See what happened there?
Starting point is 01:32:41 You see what happened? You'd been complimentary of a Pinder, the Pinder report and all that. And just like that, Snake and Ozzy video at the same time. And you were doing so well. I'm going to save it. I'm telling you. I've got something that's going to save it.
Starting point is 01:33:02 All right. What do we love more than anything in the world on this show? Why did you start with shit and then save some? Like, why not just go right for the... We love paid leave. There we do. Yes. The head coach of Oklahoma State.
Starting point is 01:33:15 Oh, 20 years. He just got gunned. He's been there for ever. ever, a tidy $15 million buyout. That's paid to not show up anymore. Pretty good. We love paid leave, but there's a tie-in, because I bet you you don't think you know Michael Gundy.
Starting point is 01:33:33 You're wrong. You know him all right. If anybody hasn't read this article, I don't read it. This was brought to me by a mother of children. I think this is worth reading. Let me tell you what I'll talk about this article. Three-fourths of this is inaccurate. It's fiction.
Starting point is 01:33:54 Here's all that kid did. He goes to class. He's respectful to the media. He's respectful to the public. And he's a good kid. And he's not a professional athlete. And he doesn't deserve to be kicked when he's down. That's why I don't read the newspaper.
Starting point is 01:34:12 Because it's garbage. And the editor that let it come out is garbage. Come after me. I'm a man. I'm 40. I'm not a kid. Write something about me or our coaches. That's all I got to say.
Starting point is 01:34:29 Makes me want to puke. Yeah. Happy trails, Mike Gundy. Enjoy your 15 million. You're worth every penny. We got some applause are in the way out too. I like that guy. You want to talk shit?
Starting point is 01:34:40 He's a man. He's 40. Talk to him. The editor. You don't be talking garbage. Jack's your editor. Jack would never allow us. Talking garbage.
Starting point is 01:34:49 Right, Jack? You got our back. Yes, I do. So happy trails to Mike, and that's your Penderport on Wednesday. There you go. Pender Report for- Did not need the snakes. Try to sneak in it.
Starting point is 01:34:59 I mean, yeah, but we don't want you to. There's a female in the roof. They had more snakes to catch. You were doing so good. So good. The show's built on friction. The Honda Ridge line, the convenience of an all-wheel drive pickup, the smooth comfort of a sedan.
Starting point is 01:35:16 Car and Driver magazine loves it, and so does Ryan Pinder. Especially when someone else washes it. It looks real tiny. Real good. Very nice. VillageHonda.com is the website. So that goes.
Starting point is 01:35:30 Yeah. We spent so much time talking about the rebuilds. Rebuilds and stuff. There's some stuff I didn't get to. I'm going to have to do it like later in the week or whatever. I don't know. What are we going to call that segment, Jack? Is that like Team Tank 101 or what?
Starting point is 01:35:43 Like how would you label that segment? We really did make a compelling case. There's a lot of different segments. There's a lot of things in there. There was Anderson. There was youth movement, draft, poor draft positioning.
Starting point is 01:35:56 Perrick. Well, and it's important to have new and hot topics. Yeah, that's a fresh one there. Yeah. We haven't talked about
Starting point is 01:36:02 the, his team rebuilding. I feel pretty good. Good. That we haven't talked a ton about. Well, I guess when you don't do shows. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:36:13 when you take the summer. You can really avoid certain topics when you don't do a show. We're going to have to keep taking summer stuff. I'm okay. All right. Yeah, deal.
Starting point is 01:36:21 You're welcome, folks. we did that's the one thing no one will say those barn burner guys all summer all they did was just go on and on about rasmus anderson incorrect we did not not true erroneous that would be three quarters three fourths untrue fiction erroneous in all accounts well i've got to get i mean well you let us ramble on about all this other stuff you could have had this wasn't going to get in the road message for the alberta teachers association alberta spends the least per student on Public education in Canada leaving schools underfunded and in crisis. Overcrowded classrooms, unmet student needs, and dwindling supports are driving record numbers of teachers to leave the profession. As Albertans, we cannot ignore this neglect. Our children deserve better. It's time to act, advocate for increased funding and demand answers from your MLA.
Starting point is 01:37:17 Why does Alberta spend the least and invest the least in its students? The excuses must stop. Stand up for our schools. Support our educators and help ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. The future of education in Alberta depends on it. For more information, visit stop the excuses.ca. I've got students in my home. They don't need the lease spent on them.
Starting point is 01:37:39 They could use it. They could use a little more funding. I have students. I really don't know that they're any good. At studenting? Yeah. They don't get it. It's like, well, go to school and then you're going to be tested on some stuff.
Starting point is 01:37:51 And then when you get a test, like, do well in that. Huh? Seems like it's all kind of just getting in the road. Of the other important things that they've got. Went to the old eye doctor for myself and two of the three kids yesterday. Yeah. Apparently, it turns out that kids are on screens a lot. Is that right?
Starting point is 01:38:15 They're blind. And yeah, it's affecting. They're long. Yeah. Yeah, potentially the eyesight, but certainly just the redness and the. Not wearing their blue blockers. Yeah, the moisture. We need some drops.
Starting point is 01:38:28 and maybe a good idea if we spend a little less time and maybe certainly just not right up until bed and then just turn it's interesting. Heavy diet of screens at the boomer house? Well, I would be. This is one spot where the government can come in and tell my takeover. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:49 You want some government intervention? I hate government, but they're allowed to intervene right now because my kids won't listen. Just shut all that shit off. Let's play battleship with that. Crocano. Yeah. Oh, Crocinole hell of a game.
Starting point is 01:39:02 It's tough on your fingernail. You get the sore finger. It depends if you're striking it, right? Sometimes you have to. You're getting rusty if you're getting bad fingers there. Jack, Crocone- Guy. With the hammer. I don't even know what that is.
Starting point is 01:39:15 Oh, it's classic youth. Because he's on a screen. Yeah. He's probably got an app where he plays it. Sad but true. So it's a game day for the flames. We didn't get, I didn't. Yeah, preseason.
Starting point is 01:39:27 I mean, we'll be better. We have a guest. We'll figure it out. yeah. We'll figure it out. Well, I'll tell you what happened. Guessing willy-nilly. Well, we'll just watch and report. That's what we do here. Yeah. So, facts. We're going to watch
Starting point is 01:39:42 what? Journalism, reporting. The highlights tomorrow before the show. Yeah, the highlights once the show starts tomorrow. Give our strong opinions on it. Let me tell you about Rory Kallens. Based on a minute 48. It is slow. The nine or the five minutes.
Starting point is 01:39:58 I don't know why they hate this Rory Karen's guy. He looks great to me. That's right. Scored last night. Helper. Yeah. That was a nice helper. Yeah, you like that one?
Starting point is 01:40:11 Pass to the point. High skill point. Some good work along the wall. On the tape, let's go. Yeah. All right. Well,
Starting point is 01:40:20 that's probably enough. Jack, how do you, do we have, do our bets. I mean, have super chats. Oh,
Starting point is 01:40:24 well, I sent bets in. I'm trying to contribute more and you cut my knees out. I'm not doing any of that. Time for our bets for Bet 365. Game props, player props, totals, the money line, whatever your bet is. It's never ordinary at Bet 365.
Starting point is 01:40:38 Download the app. Get in and in the game. You must be 19 or older. Luckily, that's not an issueer on this table. No. I don't get carded. You must be a grumpy old dad with kids. Sweet.
Starting point is 01:40:52 We're in. All right, Jay's Red Sox. It feels like playoff baseball. So we're going to hit the under. It's been tight and low scoring. And the offense has been pretty cool. And they're facing your crochet is really good. So we play the under at minus 120 and Ernie Clement against lefties.
Starting point is 01:41:07 He's all right. If you like hitting 331 in the majors, that's him against lefties all year. So we'll ride two total bases for plus 160. So there you go. Bigger. How come he never knows? He never shows my bet.
Starting point is 01:41:20 You have Rets bets? Because he sent them like five minutes ago. Does he get some horse race at Delmar race six? What's he got here? Don't worry about it, Jack. I know my bets. Tell us your bets. Why don't you tell us what you bet?
Starting point is 01:41:31 I don't know what they are. So you know your bets, but We've got the super chat during the course of the show. As we are live, you put a comment into the YouTube comment section with some cash. We take the money and get it to the use centers of Calgary. And then we'll show your comment on the show. It's kind of the unwritten got agreement that we kind of have with people that watch.
Starting point is 01:41:54 It's a partnership. Yeah, it really is. For the kids. So on the super chats today, there's Mace, $2. Morning goats. Pinder always right four flame fire emojis. What are goats? Because I know goat is the greatest of all time, but what would the S stand for? Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:42:12 Greatest of all times, smart, smart. He's probably going plural. There's more than one goat, but if you, it's the greatest. Anyway, you know what, Mace? We're going to have to work out of us.
Starting point is 01:42:24 We're not here to critique you. We just appreciate it. And that $2 is going to go a long way. The tune. Yep. Mace, another two. Wow. As always,
Starting point is 01:42:34 Pinder is always right. Team Tank four flame fire emojis. I love the sarcasm. I paid five boxes, but four under the super chats and now he pumps me out. This is good. Yeah, it's good.
Starting point is 01:42:46 It's the partnership. I guess so. There's Eric. Lovely Avatar, Eric, looking great. 355. Welcome to the Rory Karen's supremacy.
Starting point is 01:42:57 Rara. Rora. Roura. I mean, we're not trying to take the piss out of Rory Karens. It's great. He got in last year. It looked all right.
Starting point is 01:43:05 As happens with a lot of players when they come in, if they have a bit, you know, they flash when they come in, there's going to be some settling. Then he went back down to the Myers. So P&V in this game, huh? It didn't push the buck.
Starting point is 01:43:17 I think he could be, uh, so anytime that that comes up today. All right. And I guess he did spend. He's spending, $255. Okay.
Starting point is 01:43:28 Not to get all super serious, but yeah, I would think Roy Karen's going to be in that conversation for the last few spots. on the roster. Yeah. R&B. Do you guys...
Starting point is 01:43:40 Do you guys think Raz might do a two to three year deal at nine plus million per? I think his agent would get fired if he decide that. Yeah. It's probably better. 18 million. Now the thought being maybe because the cap's going up is there is he, would he do better with this contract plus another one in two or three? All right. Three times nine is 27.
Starting point is 01:44:09 Okay. Then you get four more years at five or six. Let's go high. Six. Sure. Six times what? But it might be higher than that if he's still playing well. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:21 What it really is is going like, do you believe that Rasmus will age well or not? That's the discussion. And I think when a guy's been under market like he has for the entirety of his only non-entry level deal, they're going to look at total dollars and how much money can we get? Let's find one hole. Let's not do this for agency dance again. Let's get paid. And max term.
Starting point is 01:44:41 Short term has never really been discussed by any of the camps or insiders around this. And for the flames. That would make sense. If you had to do it, that would be the only way to do it. I just don't think Browns was any interest in short term. And then on the flip side, if you felt like you were going to win in the next two to three years, then I don't know.
Starting point is 01:45:01 I just don't, I have a hard time finding a spot where it really does make. That's a good point, Dean, because even if he does it and the flames wanted to do it, does that, is that what's needed? Now you have an asset that you're not trading for a younger asset. That's going to help you in the long term. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:45:18 I just don't know. There's not many defensemen better at 31 than 29. Like, there's a few. Like, G.O would be one of them. But like, generally speaking,
Starting point is 01:45:25 90% of years. He had just given me one last. That's right. Really turned. Stinking Iron Mike's like the battleship. A two or three year at nine million per. that offer never came through that would take it rasmus mount yeah because i'm committed to community
Starting point is 01:45:42 in both cases i would say to the flames i would suggest not keep your powder turn the best course of action that would be what i would go with is that it you're done yeah that's all that's it i'm nauseous i gotta eat uh flames cadux tonight in abbotsford where there's stuff pender said there's grapes and stuff and then we'll talk about it tomorrow blueberries dean yeah berries bullets also probably another wave of cuts after these two games two and two with some drive okay keep some bodies around by the time we're done though they're no yeah no they got a few
Starting point is 01:46:14 days to mold things over what was their next action was Saturday you're going to cover that winnipeg game for us is not it no I hate winnipeg anything manitopes it's not aware all right uh jack how was the show today uh great show excited to do it again tomorrow you can't start with a uh I agree with Jack it was very sports see yeah too much i think we started out hot and then pender showed snakes and you really can't recover there's a show of snakes it's over less we learn yeah it's just good look we live and we live by yeah when we get noodles back on wednesdays oh question he ain't busy and he likes to be talk about it's talking about there's nothing to talk about the whole league operating two hour
Starting point is 01:46:56 shows every he's talking i am not making bring somebody else james a nice guy We can't talk about anything else. Going to bring him in here for this? He doesn't deserve that. He doesn't deserve that. And cutting the roof of your mouth on sharp chips. It's all kinds of stuff we could talk about. We would not eat melanchoze, no chips.
Starting point is 01:47:16 I saw Marcus Nielsen last night. How was he doing? How was the dinner? He didn't want to go. No one's returning his text. He's not getting job on first. Oh, no. It was nice.
Starting point is 01:47:28 I was happy to see that you had a great time at the game, though. Pumped. I haven't agreed. Maybe we could leave on that. If you ever went. Maybe leave on that. Rhett still? Are they here this weekend with Winnipeg? No, I think they're in Winnipeg.
Starting point is 01:47:40 Well, you could go there. You're going there two weeks. Breathaking this time of year. Yeah. I'm not going to Winnipeg. Oh, it was bad. Push the button. But I'll tell you what, if just going to the rink and going would make you this happy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:53 Wouldn't you do it every day of your life? Want to live there. Yeah, if they'd pay me to do it. A lot of caught. Absolutely go down. Love your life as much as Rhett loves going to the saddle. I just like wearing my jersey around. Sure.
Starting point is 01:48:05 Being cool. I did like that Serich didn't have an A, but you did. It's a telling. That rich. Yeah. Whoever made the jury, Sarah should probably have a jewelry blast in response in his defense. Did he wear an A here?
Starting point is 01:48:22 Did he wear a Stanley Cup ring red or no? I think he would have at some point. I don't think he ever wore an A. There was a lot of old bets then. Serge, never? I'm not saying that derogatory. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know that he did.
Starting point is 01:48:35 Warner G. Warner, he's not alternate captain material. Rhett Warner. Did he wear his ring? Did he wear his cup ring? Ryan. No, but everyone was. You mentioned it the first time and it passed.
Starting point is 01:48:49 He brought up again. Yeah. I don't know. CTE. I didn't win. Oh, God. I'm the worst. Headbutt.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Much better. That's just who he is. Sad. We're getting old. No more head butts. I didn't. we'd ever get to this point okay this is out yeah we'll see you see you buddies
