Starting point is 00:00:11 Oh, hi. How we doing, everybody? Good to say here. Everybody on the old program, it is, it's Barnburner. On the 15th of the old month of old February. Halfway home. I've heard we're past half. Holy Dinah. I know, man. It's almost March. Holy schnikes. This is almost tourism, Lethbridge season, isn't it? Middle of Fav. I mean, you know. Crank it off.
Starting point is 00:00:41 almost almost it's black thursday apparently look at us we're about as exciting as uh yeah shadow we're ready to roll ready to roll uh it's calgary flames game day get your helmet on as the the the cellar dwellers of the national hockey league he polite he played uh what be nice don't say anything mean that's it they're the the last place team in the National Hockey League make a visit to the dome tonight. They're right there, Chicago. It's going to be a battle to the end. And we'll see who's got the dedication, the stick toitiveness, the really aggressive
Starting point is 00:01:21 deadline move to lock in that top lottery position. Yeah, I guess, you know, I'm, I just assumed Chicago was, I mean, I guess in standing. Well, points percentage is very close. There's one gameplay difference. Bard may return tonight. Apparently doctors are going to look at that jaw. you're going to take a little tack hammer, pink, pink, pink. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Maybe good to go tonight, which I think would be probably ahead of the six to eight week. There we are. Look at this right at the bottom. There it is. 2.92. That is bad. That's amazing. Hoof.
Starting point is 00:01:55 To pull that off. It's not, it's almost harder to do that. I found a stat on how many games, Bard's missed and how many goals they've scored. You don't mind standing by for a moment, do you? I'll stand by. Thank you. Yeah, you just fill some time.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I'll stand by. Um, it's almost, we, we should probably do a little bit of digging. Have they been playing with a goalie every night? Have they just decided we're going to do six skaters tonight? I've seen a lot of pinker Marazik. So if you count him as a goalie, then yes, they have. Yeah. Well, there was a time when there was a Ryan Pinder was kind of high on Peter Marazek.
Starting point is 00:02:26 There's a lot of, there's a lot in that range that you've been very high on at certain point. Hey, look, and Pete Marazacic might look good in front of a team that isn't the ice, the ice hogs of Rockford. So, I mean, he was probably a platoon guy at one. time sure it was a scott darling is that his name yeah in uh carolina he was scott went into the player assistance program yeah you were very it's a bad habits but he was a 931 year yeah chad johnson one year for sure yeah um yeah it and i'm not looking to bury it right at it's goalies man just goal but you've actually kind of almost been
Starting point is 00:03:05 more on the side of getting that middling to poor goaltending than paying or drafting the higher end. It was funny. The only time we were all kind of in lockstep on goaltending was like, you know what, it's COVID. The market's off. The cap's been absolutely like shattered. Maybe you could go get Markstrom and get a number one for the price of like not a top 10 goalie at $6 million bucks. And, you know, hit and miss year to year for Markstrom. but I think that's been a good free agent signing
Starting point is 00:03:36 and typically free agent signings aren't good. No, he has been for sure. And we'll see if they turn him into something else. If you could free agent sign a guy and then turn them into an asset later, that would be pretty savvy. As for the shocks, as we look at this game tonight, Capo Cacaninan has been the guy here in the last stretch of games.
Starting point is 00:03:52 The last three, he has been the goaltender that has of record for the San Jose Sharks. Kackenon 615 and 2 on the year with a 3.43 and a 905 save percentage. Now say what you will. If you're going to play in the sharks and be over 900 save percentage, you're busy. Yeah, that's a lot of saves. I tipeth my cap to you, sir. Mackenzie Blackwood, the other netminder, 3.51 and an 899. So for both of those guys to be flirting or at or above 900, well done. I guess. And it was it was cacking in last night in Winnipeg. So it looks like it'll be
Starting point is 00:04:28 McKenzie Blackwood tonight. That would make sense. The sharks are on the second half of a back-to-back in Western Canada. And Blackwood's a guy that, again, the numbers are not special. He played on a really shitty team in Jersey. He's played on a really shitty team in San Jose. But it's a guy that we keep hearing from when we chat or hearing a boat
Starting point is 00:04:46 when we chat with noodles, who knows the goalies, loves the goalies. He's got one more here. To your point, we hear of McKenzie Blackwood. If not Marrow, McKenzie Blackwood's out there. Yeah, he doesn't make Markstrom money. 2.35 million, but he's got another year. So, which is platoon money, right?
Starting point is 00:05:04 It's platoon money. It's Vlodar money. Yeah. And another year. So he would, I don't know, is he a comp to a Markstrom trade or a Vlodar trade? Oh, God, no. Yeah. Like, it's, if you're looking for a guy that's going to go steal you games,
Starting point is 00:05:19 McKenzie Black would, look, it happened to Aden Hill last year, but generally speaking, we know who those guys are year over year. He is more in the Vlodar category. I'd agree. And I did find the stat, but Ard has missed 15 games. How many? 14. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:35 How many goals do you think the Blackhawks scored in those 14? I know it was. If you average two a game, it'd be 28. If you ever won your game, it'd be 14. I'm kind of giving you the goalposts there. Yeah, I know. Because I know we talked about it the other day. I think it was 11 and 11.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah, it was really bad. So I'll just kick it a little bit forward and say we're in that 14, 15 range. 20 goals and 14 games. It's even better. So, yeah, it's less than a goal and a half per game with Bedard out. That's how they've usurped. top spot in the inverse standings from San Jose. Well, they should think about playing them.
Starting point is 00:06:06 They should probably play him. If he's that crucial and integral to their offense and their chances of winning, they should probably play him. I don't know why they're sitting them. Yeah, and Connor McDavid had the six assist night the other night. That's going to really secure some heart momentum. What about how bad the hawks have been
Starting point is 00:06:22 without Bedard? The injury might help his MVP stock. Yeah, but you know, we don't do that. It's not about who is truly the most valuable. That's true. It's to their two. It's who's the leading score in the league? And can we make a case that he's valuable to his team? And is you going to make the playoffs?
Starting point is 00:06:37 And am I a beat writer in Montreal with Jose Theodore having a good year? I can't give a vote to again, law. Yeah, it's a really shitty word of the board. Can't do it. Can't do it. I don't know what else there is to really tell you about San Jose. Their top score for both points and goals is Tomash Hurtle. Who's hurt?
Starting point is 00:06:53 They're really dinged up, Dean. Yeah. Fabian Zetterland, I believe, is just behind. He has 14 goals. he came over in the Timo Meyer deal from New Jersey. We've talked about the goalies. Now they have, it's interesting,
Starting point is 00:07:09 they have three players here that are unrestricted free agents at the end of the year. And at any given time, if you've been paying attention to the National Hockey, these are guys that you've heard come up in trade rumors, like, ooh, you wouldn't like, you'd like a guy like that.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Sure, sure, sure. Kevin LeBank, Mike Hoffman, Anthony Duclair, all of them up at the end of the season. How's LeBank here on? DuClair is making $3 million a season. Mike Hoffman, and a half million. Kevin LeBank, 4.725. That's a lot of dough. Duclair has nine goals and 17 points in 47 games.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Hoffman, the, I mean, just a lethal goal scorer, has eight goals and 18 points in 50 games. Did you say lethal? Is that what you said? His last goal was on December 10th. Oh. And Kevin LeBank, who cashed in to the bank on a good year, I guess, 4-7. two goals and seven points in 32 games. He's been in another lineup in German and whatnot. So he has, again, for the record, two goals.
Starting point is 00:08:07 So I don't know that there's going to be a stampede down to San Jose of general managers looking to add any of those guys at the trade deadline. They've had multiple 10 game losing streaks, if I remember correctly too, because they started the season on one and Mike Greer came out and shook his fist. They played well, and then a month later, they did it again. They're actually right now, maybe on their best run of the season, they lost 12 straight, 12. 12. And since then, and to this point,
Starting point is 00:08:31 5, 4, and 2. Shit, that's pretty decent. Right? So points in 7 of 11, it's 5. It did beat the Oilers, that way back in the fall, when the Oilers couldn't beat an HL team. It was, that was maybe peak happiness in Calgary in the season.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Or at least misery loves company. Maybe that's what it was, because the flames were dog shit then. So it's the opposite of what we usually do. Be wary of the sharks. Yes. They're on a hot streak. they're on a roll. This is,
Starting point is 00:08:58 this, you're gonna not want to sleep on this shark's team because they might just come up like a, like a shark can do and just. Give you one of those. So you mentioned LeBank. He's not hurt. He's just healthy scratched.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Is that what it is? Yeah. And look at this forward group. Like, you're telling me that someone Bailey, someone carpenter and. What do you mean someone carpenter? Well,
Starting point is 00:09:19 he was a forever flame, of course. I had a montage? Montage? Did he play a game? Did he even play that? Ryan? Eight games.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Not like zero, got to be honest. In 21, 22, he got into eight games for the flames. He just rotted under Sutter. They brought him in it for like a fifth or something. And it's like, nope, not playing him. Just rot. Well, he was with the Vegas Golden Knights, right? And then he got to, went to Chicago.
Starting point is 00:09:40 They picked him up. Oh, this is a guy. So of that mold. Well, he got mold on him, all right. Ooh, did he ever? In the press box. Yeah, mothballs in mold. So that's what we're looking at.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Michael Granlin came over from Pittsburgh. Mikhail, that was the big, if we were going to take Carlson, you got to get this guy. salary off our hands. Yeah. So he is. And it was just two years ago that Duclair and Huberto combined with former flame Sam Bennett as one of the most lethal lines in the NHL, somehow some way. That does not make sense to me now. Back then, somehow it did. I'm kind of shocked looking at this lineup and it's maybe by design. I don't know what's going on with the barracuda,
Starting point is 00:10:19 but they've not been a good team for a while. I just thought this would be an extremely young team. Now Zetterland is young, but he came over from New Jersey. Granland is old. Duclair is not new. Luke Cunning has been around. William Eklund is one of their top picks from a few years ago. Barabanov has been around for a while. Nico Sturm and Hoffman, those are not young guys.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Philip Zadena is not young. Ryan Carpenter is, I just thought this would be. 33, Carpenter. Jeez. Right? Like I thought this would be a just grimming with kind of like Anaheim when we saw them. They had our top pick from 23. top two picks from 20.
Starting point is 00:10:54 No, so here's the difference. San Jose was good in trading future firsts forever until the moment they suddenly became bad and they had nothing in the cupboard. Anon's making high picks for a decade here. Like, do you want to go back to the Nick Richie, Sam Steele,
Starting point is 00:11:12 Mahura, like Zegris, like that's ages ago. These guys were in a cup final, what, six years ago or close to it when Carlson got hurt he was playing on one leg? They lost to St. Louis. 2018. It just off a cliff and no prospects at all. You know, a lot of futures in the Carlson deal from Ottawa, a lot of futures in the Evander Kane deal. They moved a bunch of first,
Starting point is 00:11:34 though, because they were in it every year. They made the playoff 16 to 17 years. They do have some youth on the back end. Ryan, I don't know if you saw I see it's kind of sitting there. I know you were going to get to it in the Pinder report, but the, uh, the defense, Flassick is still playing and playing a lot. Yeah. And I saw that thing. I think the Flames won the Kipper Soff deal. This guy's still playing. He is still playing. The retiring Kippers number
Starting point is 00:12:03 in a week. The pick that was used to acquire. That is wild. Kipersoft, they sent to San Jose, they used to pick Mark Edward Blasick. I looked on the game notes. He had three, he's had three goals in his last four games or something. He's actually, he was on a heater. He is what he is.
Starting point is 00:12:20 He's got five goals and 30 games. He's, you know, he's a, you're in the right place. He's an age. guy, but that that is still, right? That that's still paying dividends. He's making seven a year for another two years. Seven sheets.
Starting point is 00:12:37 And he was healthy scratch territory a couple of years ago. It's just there's no one to play here. Who's Ty Emerson? No offense, Ty. And congrats on your goal tonight. Caden Addison came over from Minnesota. He was a highly-tetted rookie. He can run a power play, but maybe not so good five-on-five.
Starting point is 00:12:54 So funny looking, because I'm looking now, Fabian Zetterland born in 99, Philip Zadena 99. Oh, 2000. Ty Emerson born in 2000. Mark Edward Vlasik, 1987. Can you imagine being him in that locker room? Grandpa?
Starting point is 00:13:11 Call him Abe Simpson? What's his nickname here? You kids, it's all to hibbitty hop music in here. Drive me crazy. But whatever. He's still playing. Making tons of dough. Great trade for the San Jose Sharks.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Kalin Addison's a kid. I guess I was wrong about Sadina. I was thinking about somebody else. Anyway, it's the San Jose Sharks, not the worst team in the league, playing some of their best hockey and look out for this kid named Ty Emerson. He is a steel where they got him. You had noted they're not young up front. They really aren't because it's just, it's been empty.
Starting point is 00:13:48 And they're pretty dinged up. But it's just not a young team. It's going to take some time for them to get prospects. And if these older guys wanted to have seasons, they could turn them into. picks at the deadline, but they have one forward under the age of 24. Like compare that to the Calgary flames who don't feel necessarily super young, but would have a bunch.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Like you've got Pospisal, Zeri, you know, Peltje, we don't know the status of exactly. Walker Doer is probably a little older than that, but close. Cole Schwint got called up. He's there. Wolf is with the club. Like, you tell me the sharks are an old team and they're the worst in the league. That's why when we get, when the hair is on our neck stand up, it's because of stuff like that. It's because of stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Don't be that team where you've spent a bunch of assets and you've tried to, you've kept the booster cables and the life support on something for so long. And then the inevitable to some, the inevitable happens. And now you're left with an old team or you've lost things for nothing and you don't have anything in the cupboard as far as. prospects or picks to get anything done. So not to say that's where the flame, and they're not in that danger, but they definitely tried to squeeze every last bit of blood out of that stone.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Which is probably what you do when you're 16 out of 17 years. And Doug Wilson's saying, look, like we had Thornton, Marlow, Carlson, Vlasic, Evander Kane, they did at some point have some goaltending there. Anyway, it's definitely cautionary tail. It's a buffalo type situation. It could be a long time for this team is good. Now, I think we got some news here,
Starting point is 00:15:25 Daniel, let's go to the saddle home, shall we? Dustin Wolf in the starters net, Dan Vladar in the backups net. Dan's not eligible to return and be activated off IR until tomorrow, but he can't skate with the team. Jacob Markstrom, not on the ice. So this could be a straight off day for Jacob, who's played a ton. Or it could be, well, there's been a lot of smoke around Jacob Markstrom since a week ago when, apparently, the Devils and Flames were very close on a deal. just an immediate reaction to this Steinberg bomb from the dome.
Starting point is 00:16:01 My instant reaction is that it's, it's, there's nothing to see here. This is, it's, you're, you're far enough into the season. And from what we've seen out of Markstrom, he doesn't need a game day skate if he's not playing. God no.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Right? He does not need to be out there. Yeah. If he's, and maybe he can come and work the gate tonight. But if he's not going to play, he does not need to be in a morning skate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:21 And that's, that's just kind of my instant. If, if Lidar can come off, I'm not sure, again, Pike would be the guy. I just talked to him. He said Friday he's eligible to come off IR.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Today's not Friday. It's Thursday. So you would not be able to have Danville that I worked a gate. Maybe it's dusty nickel time. Or you have, I'm not sure exactly where the Wranglers are. And I don't believe dance is on an NHL deal. Well, you've got three goalies up already, right? So I mean, well, yeah, I can't use them. So it's, if Markstrom was to be traded, and I'm not saying he is,
Starting point is 00:16:55 you'd need someone to work to gate. That could be nickel. But again, that's a lot of ifs right there. Yeah. So maybe Markstrom shows up tonight and is your starter. Maybe Wolf starts and Markstrom's your backup. I guess it just because we've spent so much time talking about it. I think probably it's getting to some people already.
Starting point is 00:17:13 It just really feels like a Markstrom trade. If it happens, happens in the offseason because there's more teams involved. At that point, no one's really reluctant to give up grade A prospects or assets because they've made their potential play. off run. Maybe there's more teams, like I said the other day, that you were supposed to go on a real run. You lost in the first round. Now it's your goal to really playoffs. Yeah. Yeah. All it takes is one team to have seemingly everything else and they're goal tending to take a shit on them that, oh, I guess we better get serious about getting a goalie. Now that's said, this is, we're, we're less than a month. Yeah. We're three weeks, three and a half weeks. Yeah, it's what,
Starting point is 00:17:51 14 days left them on eight, 22 days. 22 days. So that's, yeah, we're in three week territory to the dead. It's crazy time. Yeah. The other thing else. say with the summer is cap space opens. Every team has deals rolling off and you make room for a number one goalie. You dust off tertiary pieces. You plug that hole. You might have a team that has two or three goalies and they're coming off the books this summer. Hello, L.A., hello, Carolina. They've only got Kachkov. It's Anderson and Rantz are coming off the books. I will say this. It's a complicated deal, which is why it can feel like a June, July deal. there are teams with very, very distinct goaltending needs,
Starting point is 00:18:25 and it's not often a player of this caliber, having the season he's having, is available because you're usually in a playoff spot, buying, not selling. So I don't want to write off the chance of it, Dino, especially when we hear that the Devils and Flames are close away. No, I know. Yeah, no, you're not wrong. It could happen, but I do agree.
Starting point is 00:18:41 It seems like an easier deal to do in June or July, heading into the draft, maybe when free agency is about to start. But, again, it's, it's, there's a lot of pieces here that have to work. The money, the no move. It's got to be the right fit for the team acquiring.
Starting point is 00:18:58 What do the flames take back? Those are complicated things. And I guess if you're Craig, you set a price and it's really a high one. And if someone wants to blow your doors off, call Jacob. On, on the old, on X, formerly known as Twitter. I don't like X. It's not really, it's not great. Matt Merle. The former, of course, he's in the spit and chicklets world there,
Starting point is 00:19:23 former penguin had on his Twitter earlier this morning hearing Jake Allen to the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado grabs the veteran netminder they need. So he was, you know, kind of throwing that out. Darren Dregor following up, there is no Jake Allen deal to Colorado. The two clubs haven't spoken in days, but there has been previous discussions, nothing close at this stage. So someone's trying to be an insider in the real insider is like, yeah, And then the rest, actually no.
Starting point is 00:19:50 You know, drag's trying to be as delicate as possible. They have not spoken in days. It is always something when a non-insiders, like, I think I have something here. And it's like, all the real guys are like, no, we do this every day, 365, for a living. You're not right. And then Pierre LeBron comes through talking with Kent Hughes, said he was still trying to find a fit with teams. also mentioned that it's not a deal that has to happen before March 8th, comfortable waiting until the off season, if that's what the market dictated.
Starting point is 00:20:22 They have three goalies, right? It's Alan Montembo, Tkembe Matumbo, Sam, Samuel Montembo, one of those two. And Caden Primo, who is young and Tulsi, Alan's the best of them. He's the oldest, he's a veteran. He started as a failed starter in St. Louis before finding his feet behind Kerry Price in Montreal. And what, the cap hits in the threes. So that's something that would make sense for Colorado. can't seem to get healthy net minding behind Georgiev, who I don't know is a world
Starting point is 00:20:50 beater, but they did win a cup with Darcy Kemper. So maybe you go to the two veteran option of Georgiev and Alan. And again, this has been poo-poohed. But I can see why there's a conversation there. And I'm trying to remember the name of the backup. We always have a tough time pronouncing his name. But it just hurt for the last three years, on and off, just back and forth. Who are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:21:10 The Colorado backup. Oh, yeah. That's old old, what's his name there? Shoot. How do we pronounce your name, sir? Because they had their like third stringer, Eunice Anousin or something like that, or Anunin, but that's their third string guy.
Starting point is 00:21:25 The usual backup goalie. Yeah, Justice Anunin is in right now because Havel Fransoz is always hurt. Frantsoz always hurt, which is spelled like Francoos. It does look like Frank Coos. And we probably said Frank Coos and then Francoz and then Francoe and then Francaux and then Frantz.
Starting point is 00:21:43 It's been quite a... Figure it out. out Frank. Pabell? That's right. And also, and I know it'll come up in the, the old Pinder report, I'm sure, but another general manager getting the old, getting the bullet today. Yeah, felt overdue, to be honest, not that you want to see guys lose jobs, but it's been a shitstorm there for how long? Ever. And then you start the year with a Babcock hiring and firing and, you know, immediately making life difficult on your top young prospects, holding back ice time from young players in what looks to be a lost season.
Starting point is 00:22:17 We should imagine Yarmal Keklein is out in Columbus as the GM. Did I say Yarko? No, you said. There again, we fuck around so much. It's a shot at Rett. What did I say? We've always said Yarmu and you did. Because it is.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Rhett went on a serious tangent one day and called him Yarko and you and I'm just trying not to die on the thing. I mean, it's not far off, but it's just funny. I just hate him. I know you do. It's beautiful. Yarmal Kekaline and out as the general manager in Columbus.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Now I was thinking this morning because he was the assistant in St. Louis prior, correct? He was there for a long time. And he was one of those guys if this guy ever gets a chance to be a GM somewhere. If he ever gets a chance and they kept giving him more money, giving him more money, changing his title and eventually he just had to, if I'm going to do this, I got to go do this. I don't know
Starting point is 00:23:05 if, you know, report card, is it a failing grade? Is it a passing grade? I'm not sure. We'd have to go and look. There's not been a ton of success there. I think he's always drafted well and even when you look at that roster you're like god there's a lot of good young players it's just some of the roster construction's been dog shit there and and then you mix in the circus of the coaches and I feel like he'd still would be a really really great guy to run your draft yeah it's hard to know because it picked high a lot too though so you kind of like is Kent is Kent Johnson a star yet what is David Eurecheck I give Kent Johnson pass yet he's still a
Starting point is 00:23:41 couple of well but this is my point is like Like the report card on Yarmal will know in three, four years when it might be megastars all over. But it's not like he's just been there. He's been there for two year point. He's been there forever and they've picked high forever. Yeah. And not every draft pick has said, get me out of here. I don't know what the, there's just, there's a lot of stink around there to the point.
Starting point is 00:24:01 It just feels like you need to change just about everything. Yeah. Change the team name. Change the colors. Because it cannot be that bad to be in Columbus, Ohio. No. It just can't be. and but there's just such a stink around the whole get the fucking cannon out of there enough
Starting point is 00:24:18 just change everything with that team because you talk to guys that have been there and oh the building's fine and the area around it's fine the city's okay it's clear there's no culture of winning no and when you think of the Columbus blue jackets it still sounds like an expansion team it does right you don't think that about the Vegas golden nights you don't think about the Minnesota wild it's just but they've had a number of guys that have come through there and have wanted out. I mean, Jeff Carter and Dubois did them no favors. No. Whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Seth Jones wants out. That was a big one. It looked like they did okay in that deal, but maybe they haven't. The Boquist kid hasn't really panned out. They had to pay the hell out of Zach Werenski to try to keep him around. It's not been ideal there. Especially in the U.S. where there's such a, there's such a love affair with college football.
Starting point is 00:25:10 and college sports and that whole. That's a college town. Yeah, it's OSU. There's more, it's bigger than Cleveland, correct? If I'm not mistaken, I think the population-wise, it's actually bigger.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Yeah. So I don't know, but there's no reason when you think about it. There's no reason to want to go there. And they should have been better just by way of drafting. If you're not going to be able to get people aside from Godro on,
Starting point is 00:25:33 at UFA and at free agent's title. How did that fail? Jesus. Yeah, I know. So I'm looking it up as it stands right now. I don't know the answer. I would think the Columbus Blue Jackets have the worst winning percentage in the history of the NHL. All their games, all time.
Starting point is 00:25:49 Because every team has ups and ups and Columbus has seemingly only had downs. Their peak was like they had 950 goaltending and beat Toronto in the bubble in playoffs once, like in a play-in series or some shit. This team has never had a run. Yeah. So I don't know what to say. I'm looking right at the bottom. Carolina is below them.
Starting point is 00:26:08 But yeah, it's Columbus, Arizona, Carolina, the three losing his franchises in the history of the league. So does that include the Hartford Whaler days for Carolina? That's a good question. Is it all time? Yeah, because it's 7980. So yeah, Hartford is bad for a while. And it also, the coyotes is 7980 as well.
Starting point is 00:26:26 So that would be when Winnipeg was, both were assumed from the WHA. Yeah. And both stunk. Yeah. Well, not in the WHA, but in the NHL. Absolutely. So anyway, so John Davidson is going to, take over on an inter basis or will be the guy, which, okay, if you want us to come down there and
Starting point is 00:26:47 shift, make this change, John, we'll do that. Watch next year, they'll come up with Ohio State collars and change everything. So, oh, I had a great, I just had a, it was a revelation one day. They needed a house cleaning. This is a piece of it. I don't know. Is it too soon to rip Pascal Vincent out of there? The early reviews have not been good. The young guys don't like him and they're not winning. So what are we doing here? What the fuck are we doing? If you're not playing the and you're losing, what are you accomplishing upset? Just being an ass hat. Can't be the guy moving forward. I wouldn't think going into
Starting point is 00:27:18 next year. It's just, is it so, if it, to me, anyway, from, again, from a hundred mile, a hundred million miles away, looks like he's not the guy, but is he so toxic that you dump him and go now into your third interim, like another interim coach, your third coach of the year, do you just ride out this season and then make a coaching change in the offseason,
Starting point is 00:27:38 see who else gets let go? Christ, Todd McClellan is out there. Craig Baruby is out there. Yeah. Find your next real coach. Don't go trying to look for an unknown here. Like get them, get some stability in there. Find a real GM. Find a real head coach. JD, you're either the president or you're not. This is a second stint there, if I'm correct, because he went to the range. Well, I got gas there and came back. And if you're JD, are you part of the problem or are you part of the answer? I would think there's some temperature under his seat because it's like, it's all happened under his watch here since he left New York, a lot of this stuff. Everyone loves John and I have no reason to not like John, but there's enough out there's like, well, John. you know what john was a good media guy john's a good guy and they loved him as a color guy and he
Starting point is 00:28:18 went to the front office because they pays really well uh there's just some debate as to what what does he do what does he do well what does what is his area of expertise well and i think he's had some he's had some wins here and there but i like you're you green lit babcock right you're still tied to this thing he's gone you're almost gone but you that was still under your watch the Babcock thing. How in the world did you think that was a good idea? How? With all the coaches out there in the world that could have had a spin, Babcock with that package. And there's somebody saying in the, JD grew up in Calgary. Well, that's, yes, he's got to be a good guy. Got to be a great guy. Backs her in. Uh, yeah, I did just a bit of, uh, sleuthing. I expect Markstrom to be the backup tonight. Good. Yep. And that would make sense. Give them an off day, a real off day. This is a load.
Starting point is 00:29:11 management thing. So to your point, they've got Wolf in the starters net. Ladar is on the ice, but because he's on the IR, he cannot back up tonight. So for Jacob, it's a little, hey, you know what? Get some extra Zs, dude. You've been okay lately?
Starting point is 00:29:27 You've been playing okay. And I saw it out there in the Twitterverse or the Xverse. If you can't start Dustin Wolf against the Sharks team, you're never fucking starting them. You just aren't. Like, come on now. This I don't have on good authority, but I think he kicked the door in on the coach's office today and just said, okay, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:29:49 Like, serious dudes, fellas. Fellas. Right? Yeah. Yeah, okay. To go get your shit on. I'll be all right. So.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Did I see a star-studded guest in the, in the comments there, Jack? Nice avatar. You dink. I mean, is it him? Is it someone pretending to be him? I don't know. It's usually him. We will chat with him. We got to ask
Starting point is 00:30:14 Brett what? It's supposed to be around 11. You might have landed early. Service Credit Union. The Service Big Share is back for the sixth year with your chance to win a million dollars just by saving money. Anyone can enter by becoming a member and saving with service.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Every $500 saved gives you five entries into the Service Big Share contest. Transfer your existing savings to service for chances to win $1 million. dollars. Contest ends April 30th, 20th, 24, skill test required. For rules, visit service.ca.ca slash win. Service.com.
Starting point is 00:30:50 slash win. Yeah. Million dollars. Why not? That, that, turn your day around. Even if you're having a good day. If you can't have a career like rats, that's probably a move. Go to move your stuff to service.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Maybe get a million bucks. Move it over. It's not like, show up to the rink and make a million bucks. Take your existing savings. because I said that, right? Transfer your existing savings. It's not like, go and sell a whole bunch of your stuff. Take your existing savings, move it to service. And every $500, there gives you five entries into the service big share contest.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Bam. Thank you, service credit union. Brish. Brish. So if he's in the comments, but he hasn't turned on his computer to jump on the show. If we stop and wait and figure it out and try and figure out what he's doing, we'll, we're going bowling. Oh, can't wait for. February 29th.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Did you get it? We got another name that's going to show it. No, not bowling, but we'll be there to apparently work as his own personal drink holder. Is that how it's going to work? Yes. My shoulder isn't good for bowling, but I can hold this particular person that recovering from an injury won't be able to bowl, but yet we'll play through the pain to tell stories about winning the Stanley Cup and drinking. Nice. That's a winner.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Yep. It is the barn burner ballerama coming up. February 29th, we're a couple weeks away. Over at, of course, Splitsville, 29, 16, 5th Avenue Northeast. Formerly Let's Bowl has, they've had a facelift, they've changed things up. Great spot, Splitsville.
Starting point is 00:32:25 And we be rolling. Sign up your team now. You see it there. Limited teams available. Nationgear.com. It's for you and four. So I know you look at it. Okay, so the four of us will get together.
Starting point is 00:32:37 There's going to be celebrities, it's going to be drinks, going to be food, going to be, we're going to go bowling. and have a hell of a good time. And the best part is it's in support of kids sport. Kevin and Lisa and everybody putting in a bunch of work for us to get this thing rolling and getting ready for us. Food will be served by Oudle Noodle, among others, but Oudle Noodle is on board.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Appreciate them. And of course, I mentioned the Barnburner, blonde, that and more from Origin. Chat out with Mark yesterday. We're figuring out the beer situation for the event. He's very excited. And we'll see him on the 29th. Very good. Very good.
Starting point is 00:33:09 So again, the nationgear website is where you go. Nationgear.ca. Add to cart. And you know how to buy stuff online. It's kind of the same thing. Feb 29. So who is the, we kind of, he's going to be having some drinks and hanging out. Name and names?
Starting point is 00:33:29 Sure, why not? Colin Patterson. Paterson. Pat, Paul Patterson. Call Patterns. Good. They're going to be there joining us. Glue guy, 89 team.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Appreciate you. You should have gotten that haircut sooner. He looked older in 89 than he is now. It's unbelievable. Yeah, he did. Did we mention our yesterday guest that he was going to be there too? No, we talked about that? Busted out, what are you got?
Starting point is 00:33:47 Well, I'm just saying, did we say that Jamie McClennon's going to be there? I think we've mentioned noodles will be there. And what's exciting about noodles being there is that noodles is the life of the party and people follow noodles. And if you understand what's happening three days after Ballaram and you know the number of luminaries that will be in town for said event. Correct. No, is going to be a guy to be around on the 29th. So that's how that's important. Doodles, Cup winner.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Rhett? It's exciting because he's hardly in town. That's why it's like Haley's Comet when he's in California. Hardly in town. Like almost never in town. It's, um, even now, you're on a plane to leave Buffalo not coming here. O'Hare.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Yeah. Is he coming on, do we think? Or is he just going to sit in this? Jack, the hell's going on with Rhett. Damn it, Jack. Give us an up. update. But again, he'll be, yeah. Does he have to pay for internet? What's the problem there? He's in the comments. How do I, send me a link? What's the, what's, how do I, uh, that's what's, how do I, uh, that's been over there?
Starting point is 00:35:08 You want to do the Pinder report or do you want to, should be, because I mean, if we sit here, I would love to do Rett right now, but, um, the Ask Rett thing. But if he's not there, we can't do it, which is a thing I've noticed about Ask Rett. Yeah. Pender reports is, Dean. You can email him. a link, but as he said, he doesn't get emails. He's in the comments. I mean, that's where you get. I know he is. This is a move right there. Yeah. Yeah. Ha. I hate him so much. I just hate it. Really not whispering that quietly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Brought to you by Village Honda. The 2024 Honda Accord was redesigned last year chosen by Car and Driver magazine as the number one mid-sized sedan. One of the most reliable vehicles on the road is now better than ever. Superior ride quality, reliability, and impressive fuel economy, thanks to the EXL hybrid. It's what, it was all part of what made the accord
Starting point is 00:36:10 the number one mid-sized sedan, according to car and driver magazine. Check it out at Village Honda, located in the Northwest Automall and online at VillageHonda.com Village presents the Pinda Report. All right, Dino, let's start with the Calgary Flames in action tonight against the San Jose sharks.
Starting point is 00:36:26 After a three-and-one road trip, it is a four-game homestand. This has been a streak. streaky, streaky, streaky, streaky group. Their last 13 games, win for, lose four, win four, lose one. We'll see if they can shorten up the losing streak as it'll be Dustin Wolf. Oh, tending the net tonight for the cavalry flames. It'll be backed up per Dean Boomer Mulberg, one of our insiders, by Jacob Markstrom.
Starting point is 00:36:53 Although Vladar is skating. Nice day off for Markstrom. Lard is on the IR, not eligible to come off. Until tomorrow. That's what I believe. So Markstrom just deemed as someone who doesn't need to sharpen anything up, tighten anything, he looks to be in fine form. So he's getting a morning off.
Starting point is 00:37:12 You don't need to come to morning skate if you're not playing. Walsh, NHL debut was in Game 82 last year. That was against the sharks. He allowed one early, and I think that was it. He was pretty darn good the rest of the way. He will make his sixth start, if I'm correct, of his NHL career. And, again, had a miraculous H.L season, because that's what he does.
Starting point is 00:37:33 He's won back-to-back All-Star games, back-to-back goalies of the year, and he's the reigning HL player of the year. Does anyone have these things said about them before? It's quite something. That's what you would want to be upset about you. Yeah, I think what he'd love to have to say about him is that he's a star goaltender in the NHL.
Starting point is 00:37:50 So perhaps that begins tonight, Dustin. Go get him, kid. Wildcard chase looks like this for the Calgary Flames. They're in this thing, Dino. It is weird. There they are. It just how... You're hanging around.
Starting point is 00:38:02 You just are. They got what, a game in hand on St. Louis. Or excuse me, St. Louis has a game in hand on them and they're three back. Okay. That's not insurmountable. Hanging around. That was counting crows? Yeah, that was counting crows.
Starting point is 00:38:17 That's a hell of an album. Hanging around is down a bon. I've been hanging around. What's his name? Adam Durwitz. What's the name of that album? That was her best album. Mr. Jones was on it.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Yeah, Mr. Jones, shoot. Yeah, that's a bang of an album. That's not enough counting crows info off the top of my head for you. Geez. I need the album title. That's the album. I know. I'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Yeah, thanks, buddy. You do that. I'll tell you about the Flames home stand. We've got it broken up into halves here. They start San Jose, then Detroit. That is a Thursday tonight, Saturday, two days from now. Note the matinee start time, Dino. Saturday afternoon, bring to kids.
Starting point is 00:38:58 August and everything after. Yeah, there you go. It was a weird name to remember, but very good. Next week, Winnipeg, holiday Monday. Not the start time team. Mat and they bring your kids. I'm downloading this thing right now. It's a banger of an album.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Now it's hanging around on there. It's not on there. What? Mr. Jones. Yeah. Round here. Round here. And I'll say this, one of a sneaky good, Omaha.
Starting point is 00:39:27 Yeah, Omaha's good. Omaha. Great one. He's got a whiny voice, but damn, that's a little. Hang around is from another one. Oh, I'm going to play it. Well, I get, uh, what we get taken down. And then along December.
Starting point is 00:39:42 See, it's always whining to believe. It's like my kid when I tell him he can't get a treat. That's how he says. Everything's one. What if I do just kind of covered? Let out of Lala Lago. I'm hanging around. She sat there on the sofa.
Starting point is 00:39:57 I said, where have you been? He does kind of sing like that, right? He does. He's around this town corner. There's too many ostriches. It's kind of like this old town. Way too long. All right.
Starting point is 00:40:16 And they wrap the homestand with the game against the Bruins. Do you do the Pinda report for Christ's sake? Yeah, sorry, you know, I just got distracted. My bad. The San Jose sharks, we talked about them. It's not pretty. They're not young. They're not good.
Starting point is 00:40:28 and they sure are old and they're all so really injured. Not available. Hurdle. Thrun, who is, what, a Harvard teammate of Coronado? Benning, Giovanni Smith, Oscar Lindblom, Logan Couture and Healthy Scratch,
Starting point is 00:40:43 making nearly $5 million, Kevin LeBank. Ouch. Not to be confused with the black crows, right? Totally different. Very, very different. Yeah, black crow is a different vibe for sure. That's Robinson.
Starting point is 00:40:55 son. He was married to a, what's her name? Oh. That's, you know, Goldie Hawn's daughter. That's right. I'm not good on the celebrity gossip. Sorry, but you just want to throw those deep hairs up.
Starting point is 00:41:11 One of the names that you will hear a lot of buzz about heading into the deadline, Dino, not because it's necessarily a superstar, but because if you remember the Brandon Hagel, Blake Coleman type deals, Mario Ferreiro is playing big minutes in San Jose. He's not a top pairing defenseman in the NHL, but he's a very good one. He is locked in at a very low number. that might be the best trade chip the sharks have. Problem is he's kind of one of the guys you'd want to keep and build around. Keep an iron Ferraro at the deadline.
Starting point is 00:41:35 All right. I'll do that. Inverse standings. You want to talk about how good the sharks are? Just turn these standings upside down. There's the bottom of the league right there. Under that red line, those four teams, this is the suckathon. Who could be the worst?
Starting point is 00:41:50 Slack and for Macklin, as they say. Now, again, there is a lottery ball component at the end, but you would like to have the best odds. Right now, Chicago has that. A lot of runway left for San Jose, Anaheim, and especially the Lost at Sea with No Rudder, Columbus Blue Jackets. Ottawa's kind of getting their S together. I could see them getting back to 500. They're just three games under.
Starting point is 00:42:10 And at the top of that, the coyotes have lost seven in a row, Dino. I don't know if that isn't right back to when the flames are in Mullet Arena. It's like that's a significant losing skits. Seven in a row for the yoke. You could be right because it was January. You know what? They bounced back and won the next game, I think. I think they have to, yeah, that's too many.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Since then, they came back to Calgary and lost. That might have been it. Anyway, it's, it's been a while for a win. I'll see. That's what happens. You have to find out. That is how the graph works. Yeah. The more you, the more you.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Yeah, we got it. Frank Saravalee. Who? Lovely boy, insider. Dailyfaceoff.com. He had his Valentine's Day matchmaker trades yesterday. This is a fun one. He's asking who would swipe left?
Starting point is 00:42:57 Does that mean say no or right? I was too old for dating apps. Yeah, sure. You don't know. I don't. Nope. All right. So to Toronto, here's, this is a hypothetical, friends.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Don't have a heart attack here. Noah Hanofan and Andrew Mangupani with half the money retained. Maggapani makes too much, what, 5.8. So you eat half and he becomes a $2.85 million player. That's a little more reasonable for match. Toronto needs a little depth scoring. They certainly need a big minute munching defense when Noah Hanifans is that. Flames would get a first, a third, a fifth.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Ryan Reeves to make the money work. and hey, if you're going to be bad next year, why not have someone to punch faces? Nick Robertson, a Tulsie prospect that's probably fallen into project territory, the tough time staying healthy, and somebody named Topi, Nimaela. How does that look? Light heavy, just right, or who knows? That is a hard, no thank you if I'm Craig Conroy. Okay, not enough there, I'm guessing.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Nowhere near enough. Yep. No, because, I mean, Reeves is, you're helping him by taking Reeves. Yeah, that's a favor. If it was a straight up, so say the third round pick from the Islanders, that's for taking Reeves. Okay. So you're getting a first for Hannanfen and Manchapani and half of Manjapan, like, no.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Yeah, you'd have to really like Nick Robertson. And to be fair, he doesn't. He hasn't done a lot to speak. You've been talking about Nick Robertson for years. Yeah, that's true. He was going to be the better brother at one point. Yeah, it's his brother. And now we're talking.
Starting point is 00:44:24 But no, that's, I mean, Frank's out of, come on, Frank, give your head a shake. So if swiping left is no, then we're swiping left. If swiping left is, I'm deleting the app is what I'm doing. Delete the app. Yeah, that's right. Okay, next. Or did you do the rest of the room?
Starting point is 00:44:38 Next, next, next, next. Okay, here we are. Now, this might have some nostalgic, what did I? Why is this something in the back of your head like tingling here? To Dallas, a conditional second rounder that can become a first if Dallas reaches the west. Now, what does that remind you of, Dino? Well, it's like the Chris Russell deal. It is almost exactly the Chris Russell deal.
Starting point is 00:44:57 All you need to do is find the corpse of Yerki Yokopaka, and that's basically exactly what it is. There's one of the body in there too, right? There was the, uh, there might have been one more body, but not one of, um, much substance. He was playing for the Edmonton oil kings, I believe at the time. But yeah, neither one of them, Yoki Paca really couldn't play. And then the other note. That's kind of another. Yeah, it's kind of another nope for me.
Starting point is 00:45:19 It feels light. It feels light. I'm going to need more. Like, that's fine. We can do a conditional. second and something else. I do like a second going to a first, but I mean, if, let's say they flame out in game seven of the against Colorado,
Starting point is 00:45:32 that's, there's no shame in that. And a second rounder is going to be pick what, like 58, 59, 60. That ain't that valuable. Yeah. Yeah. It's worth more than that. If he's healthy, come on, but stay healthy.
Starting point is 00:45:43 I think so again. It's, you know what is, I saw Chris yesterday. Blatent disrespect. You saw Chris? Yeah, he's pushing his kid. He's in the neighborhood here. He's pushing his kid in a stroller.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Look good. So he's feeling good. Oh, yeah? Good looking kid. 13 months old. Oh, gonna be a weapon. Healthy kid.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Does he got any teeth? Yes. Yeah, they're just coming in. He said the moment. I'd be great if the kid and the dad looked the same. I think the kids already lapped him.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Snaggle tooth hanging out. Anyway, he's so much of a chatter. Hey, Tadav. How are you doing? Hi. How's your day?
Starting point is 00:46:16 Good. Yeah. That's such a child. You kid. Oh, you must be a lot. Yeah. Yeah, that is my kid. He does look like one of those guys.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Yeah. Like a bullfrored. This is a quiet leader, but a hell of a player. And our flames fans overvaluing Chris Tannav. And I don't, you know what? But I tell you what,
Starting point is 00:46:36 he's a great bleeping defender. You watch him play. You don't tell me that looks like playoff hockey. Huh. Put in New Jersey on that time. You don't need to be a shadow box if you're going to block shots like that, my friend. That's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:45 He might whistle when he talks. He's embarrassed about it. Please. I'm just out here with my, stroller. So Frank, not a good masnaker. A lot of noise around the studio with all these vacuum trucks.
Starting point is 00:47:01 Sioux cities, sasperilla. Is that a good sasperilla? How's your fiber Wi-Fi, your internet? Better today. Struggling. Frank, it's failing great. I'm swiping left on Frank. God damn it, Frank.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Yeah, get better, Frank. Get us a better deal, sir. Like, what do we had offered for Lindenholm? Or again. Come on. Or maybe we're off. but I don't know. Oh, it can't be us. Come on, no.
Starting point is 00:47:25 It's true. We kind of redeemed ourselves after the Tafoli thing. We redeemed ourselves with the Lindholm thing. Well, the haves aren't getting the first remand it.
Starting point is 00:47:33 Never mind. Frank's right sometimes. Yeah. Barely won against the sharks last night. One nothing. Good Lord. Lost four or five. We noted it.
Starting point is 00:47:44 It is a change in Columbus. Yarmal Kekalinen's long run gone. Thanks, Frank. We believe you on this one. Next. Brad Barshand. How many lives does, we know a cat has nine lives.
Starting point is 00:47:55 What about a rat, Dean? I would think even more than a cat. I would disagree. I would not disagree that. I think you're right. So you're agreeing? I'm agreeing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:05 A thousand games last night. Whoa. And you know what's the thing about, where was he picked? It was second, third, fourth round. It was not. Man, Bergeron and him both second rounders. Are you kidding?
Starting point is 00:48:17 I just remember seeing him on the world junior team. And it was one of those, God, you'd love to have a guy like that, wouldn't you? That's, he's pretty good, pretty good little player. And then, but, you know, he awful small. Can he handle the rigors of the NHL? Yeah, he can. He's a winner.
Starting point is 00:48:37 Face liquor, winner, all that. And it kind of has become less annoying, somehow more respected. He's matured, for sure, right? I think part of that is just life. And I think part of that is being around Chara and Patrice Bergeron and all of that moving forward. But there's still, uh, when that's in you, you know, that's, that's still part of you. What?
Starting point is 00:49:01 Did I say to comments? Oh, come on. Get that off of there. Jesus. That's not very, Ken. Ken. Ken, do you want to sit at the adult table or do we have to put you back with the plastic
Starting point is 00:49:12 chairs? Ken. Jesus, Ken. Come on. Come on now. Ken. Kenny. Can't remember, uh, Marchand's sister worked with.
Starting point is 00:49:21 us at the radio station for a while. Vagly. Why do you hate people? No, I love people. I just vaguely remember that. I hate people and I remember. I mean, come on. I know. Why do you remember so much? What the hell happened there? Jesus. Bolt's third got unveiled yesterday.
Starting point is 00:49:39 If you like Phil Esposito narrating slow motion jersey releases, you're going to love this, Dean. It's only three minutes. I'm going to love it. The Lightning Bolt. It's more than just a mark. It's an icon. A badge of honor.
Starting point is 00:50:06 A reflection of all the blood, sweat, and sacrifice. It's demanded from anyone who's ever worn it. An emblem of excellence. A culmination of everything we've been. Everything. Everything we are. And everything we hope to be. from expansion to raising banners
Starting point is 00:50:38 from the lightning on the ice to the thunder in the stands it's our legacy one that says to the world we've earned our stripes that it's been putting more stripes on the jersey there that is actually when you look at it you're like how did the bleeping Tampa Bay
Starting point is 00:51:02 lightning like this is one of the winningest franchises. Mm-hmm. Like three cups. Columbus. Hello. This is how you do that shit. Yeah, like cheat off their test results.
Starting point is 00:51:15 I know you're not in shoulder. You know, you're not in Florida. But still, you can draft. It's okay to draft guys and be good. Yeah. Yeah. You don't need to, uh, who was the big bus there? Nikolai Jerev.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Well, they had Jarev. They've had a lot of them. I think we talked about it from Rick Nash. Just swinging mess. Yeah. And I think we looked at it. Rick Nash was the only first overall pick that they've had. they've not picked at one.
Starting point is 00:51:38 It's all been choosing. Yeah, but Headman wasn't one and Vaselowski wasn't one. I get what you're saying. But yeah, you can draft better, Columbus for sure. Draft better. Draft better. Tonight's games. Okay, this is a little trivia for you.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Four were easy, one was really tough. It's the first time in NHL history tonight. Big slate. There will be five Stanley Cup rematches. I want you to walk through and pick the games that were a Stanley Cup final. Chicago, Pittsburgh. That's correct. There's one.
Starting point is 00:52:07 I'm going to guess Colorado Tampa. Yeah, it was two years ago. That was the Colorado's cup ending the lightnings run at two in a row. It was a third straight final. Kings Devils? Kings Devils? That was, I believe, Daryl's first year there when they were a hot knife through butter, maybe the second year. But yeah, that was part of the Kings two and three years.
Starting point is 00:52:26 And Anaheim, Ottawa. That is four. The last one's very difficult. Oh, is there five? I thought you said four. Sorry. If I said four or easy. So you got the easy four.
Starting point is 00:52:36 Oh, okay. And it's because the league was, it was in the 70s and it was not East West. So it wouldn't make sense now that these two teams would meet in the final. So I've given you a clue. It's way back. Seattle, Boston. Macon Bruins. In the 70s, it was the Cracken.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Boy, the travel was arduous. They'd take trains, didn't they? In the 1870s, when Seattle millionaires. The travel, you know what? Nine people died during that cup final. It really is a war of attritionism. You were using horseback and carriages. we say that you can't have enough defensemen.
Starting point is 00:53:09 They just didn't have enough men. Scurvy, rickets. It just took a bunch of guys shingles. Oh, boy, the shingles are bad then. Yeah. It is the Habs and Rangers 1979. Oh, I remember it well.
Starting point is 00:53:22 That would have been the end of that Habs dynasty. Didn't they went four or five in a row there? Yeah, something like that. And then the islanders took over. What a time to be alive. Yeah. That's kind of cool. Or kind of nerdy or boring.
Starting point is 00:53:33 You tell us in the comments. Not's great. Good stuff. I don't know if there's AI or not. I'm going to need some help. I wish we had rent for this because, God, I lost at sea here. This, apparently, is a new hirink in Sheskichin. Now, they're humming and hawn on it.
Starting point is 00:53:50 This could be a new downtown arena in Saskatchewan. Really? I like downtown Saskatoon. Put a little rink in there. Let's go. Because the one right now, it's like by the Costco outside the city. Not ideal. It's like the canada of Saskatoon.
Starting point is 00:54:05 interesting. It's been a while. It's been a long time, I should say a little while. It's been a long time since I've been in Sask Place or whatever they call it now. Yeah. But it was an amazing rink. At the time, huge, right? Like what, 11, 13,000?
Starting point is 00:54:19 And again, that there looks like that's more than just a home for the blades. You're looking to have some sort of a complex. Concerts and concerts and try and ride over China, I guess. The rush has done very well there. I don't know if the old one's just old or what the plans are or if this is someone's pie in the sky. I dream. Hey, you know what? Build it. Go get it. Move the coyotes there. Oh, God, yeah. That's what Gary wants.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Another small Western Canadian market. Let's go. Winnipeg Light. Oh, see a doctor for last more than four hours, Gary. I know that gets you excited. Yeah, it would. Yeah. Loves it. I wish Rhett was on. Well, good luck. Yeah, build it. Saskatoon. Why not? Now, I would go back to that rink with the spotlights in this guy, like from above. Like, imagine it's a huge concert. What would the most Saskatoon concert of all time be? It doesn't have to necessarily be today, but if you're looking at how excited that city is buzzing for the big concert tonight at Agriam Place or whatever they're calling this journey. Who's on stage there, Dino? Is that like Bachman Turner Overdrive?
Starting point is 00:55:21 What are we doing here? Well, it almost feels like that's got almost some nickelback feels to it. Oh, nickelback would be a huge ball. Right? Nickelback would really, if they were going to, this is the opening night of the new rank headliner. Who are you bringing in? Yeah. Maybe country music superstar Tate McCray.
Starting point is 00:55:37 I was just going to say, I'm bringing in Tate McCray. She's number one of my power rig is right now. She might be country by then. She started as a dancer. Who knows? She could be post? Posty? Would Posty be a big draw on?
Starting point is 00:55:47 I don't know that posty's getting to Sasky. That's just, yeah. Kanye? Can Kanye cross the border? I don't know. That's tough stuff. If he's wearing that gas mask, you wear the Super Bowl, he probably can slide through.
Starting point is 00:56:02 We love a good. anthem failed dean and i got questions for the chicago bulls because you should be vetting people this is the n b freaking association yeah who's doing the anthem some shitty high school band have a listen what it's that bad and that might be boston i look at it it is the bulls in boston i do like uh i've always liked the big bit what the the the friggin symbol guy and then he just stands and waits. I feel like you're the one you got in the house, your son, he'd be a symbol guy. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:59 He's got no rhythm, though, I don't think. You need a little rhythm, not a lot. There's only two or three. You've got to time up. One, two, three. Booche, dude. Not on the two. Come on.
Starting point is 00:57:10 You'd be too quick with the bush. Super Bowl. We've got lots of fallout from the most watched North American sporting event. the year. Did half time look familiar to you because there's Luda? I do like it. What's the name with the team from Dodgeball with evil Ben Stiller there? Yeah, that's right. And the chick with the unibrow.
Starting point is 00:57:32 With the unibrow there, yeah, it's good. That's not bad. Yeah. By the way, you were very critical of the us. In my birthday suit. What? Did you enjoy the half show? No. Really?
Starting point is 00:57:46 No. And again, why was it any good? because he brought out a bunch of other people to help him. Which is all they're doing now, which is great. Like bringing out as many stars as you can. It's take away Little John and take away Luda. And again, and I said he has, it's R&B and these love songs. And then he's going to do, was he going to do?
Starting point is 00:58:03 Yeah. Three times. He may as well have done yeah three times. Did you like his brooch though? I didn't really focus on the brooch. I saw he took his shirt off and said, okay, well, here we go. He was sweating quick. Now he's a dancer too, not like Tate McCray.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Dance better. Is that a nipple sling? when a dude takes a shirt off? No, that is intentional. I'm all for a quality, so I'm outraged. He was not a fail. Yeah. Yeah, I know you're outraged.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Mixing a setup. Come on. What's happening here? It looks like a men's league game. Everything's going just fine until it isn't, Dean. It's going to be someone getting slashed. Come on falling. What do we got here?
Starting point is 00:58:44 Oh, gosh. And out. And. Oh, a little hot in the corner, too. That's the driver, Dean. Oh, no. Man down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Just stay safe out there. All you, Raycraft. Yeah. All you, Gords and Dugs out there, stay safe today, would you? You know, not about nothing. That would friggin hurt. That's a big fall onto ice. Falling down.
Starting point is 00:59:12 Maybe catch the dashboard on the way down, like Peltier. Who knows? Poor guy. Yeah. I feel bad. I hope he's okay. Now, it's the long weekend. Monday's a holiday.
Starting point is 00:59:24 There's no classes for the Calgary Board. of education today nor tomorrow. So many people enjoying a little extended time. What do you do for a long weekend? Well, you head to origin. You stock up and you load up the fridge. So I think this is our doorbell can catching me as we're getting set for the long weekend here. Yeah, this clearly walked to the front.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Got some homegrown logger there. Oh. They asked me if I wanted a box. I said I had my own from Costco. Yeah. God damn it. You know what cans, Ryan? Next time cans.
Starting point is 00:59:54 That's what's got to be. Cans. I remember that happened at my grandma's house one time. No. My uncle walked in with a big, a two, four, a flat of lab light, some Labat lights. The bottom went right out on it. Christmas was ruined. All 12?
Starting point is 01:00:13 Because you're not, it's not like you're just run into the 7-Eleven to grab another box of Labat light. Sad day. Yeah, lost a few good men. Yeah. Tough when you go to a new gym, because you're not. really sure where everything is. Maybe it's a class here and you don't know all the moves, but you don't want to look like the new guys. You're trying to fit in. I think this was Rhett here. He's switched up his, it looks like some sort of a crossword. Kenny Loggins.
Starting point is 01:00:40 Yeah. So there are. It's like, okay, do a little chin up and then we're going to spin around. Good start. And let's go. Good work. Welcome to the, oh, yeah. No, I'm cool. No, I'm good. And everyone just walks away like, I can't watch this. That's what I was planning. That's, that was the move I was going for. Yeah, stuck to landing. Oh, he smacked his head too, eh? Yeah, he really, yeah. Yeah, it's not good. He and the Zamboni guy, T's and peace.
Starting point is 01:01:04 Tees and peace. Let's, uh, let's go to another staple of the Penderport. You know, first it was kangaroos. Please don't let it be what I, like, don't, don't above ground pools. All right. And bike fails. What else is like trampolines? That's it.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Nothing else. No, there's one more. Ladders. Okay, good. There goes. branch. Good work there. Anything that can possibly go on.
Starting point is 01:01:40 I mean, and you know what it is? If you're walking by, say you're on the sidewalk and you see someone, they've got a big ladder and a chainsaw, and they're all the way up there, you would just assume, well, that's a professional that knows what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Wouldn't you just default to, because if you're a friggin idiot, you wouldn't just, yeah, you wouldn't just take this long extension and ladder and fire up a chainson go do it yourself. You'd hire a professional for a job this dangerous. Yeah, you can't just have some idiot three stories high on a ladder.
Starting point is 01:02:22 And then that happens like, no, I guess, I guess he just tried to do it himself. Yeah, Big D is like, could you, in fairness, D, I don't know if holding the ladder is going to do much there. I think it was less the holding. It was the placement on the tree. You might have bought them a half second. That's about more teas and peace. So the branch, my ladder's on. I'm just going to go ahead and saw that thing.
Starting point is 01:02:41 I'm just going to go ahead and saw that thing. I was going to. I was going to buck that off right there. Oh, gravity. Shit. Well, finally, there's more. This one's for you. Thanks.
Starting point is 01:02:57 For you head out, Spectre here. You know what? I was going to bring this one up the other day. No, just leave it. I saw this the other day and I was going to bring it up. It's a motorcycle helmet of sorts. You're crazy when it comes to worrying about stuff. Worrying about stuff.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Yeah, they're everywhere. They're friggin everywhere. And you know what? And the thing of it is, you're trying to be safe. I'm going to go out for a nice little scooter ride. Let me grab my, my helmet. Why do I have the shooting pain on my skull? Like something's stabbing me.
Starting point is 01:03:24 Why is I can, my vision is going. Oh, you know why? It's because my eye is swollen shut. What happened? I wonder, because I can't see to my right very well. You, like, here's the thing. When you, are you done because we got dummy in O'Hare. Yeah, I got.
Starting point is 01:03:43 10 seconds. When you retire with all your fancy podcast money, you're going to want to go move to the desert. I know that's your vibe. Yeah, it is. Hot in the day, fill a glassful ice, vodka, a little bit of flavor. A little bit of flavor. Any sort of cloud, deer, dares getting near you. Yeah, yeah. There are snakes down there. You're going to have to deal with that. You live in a great spot for a man with huge fears of snakes. Calgary's perfect for you. That's your Pender Park. I'm brought to you by Village, Hawn, a new in-stock inventory arriving daily, selection of pre-owned as well all makes all models all budgets over 90 units on site access to more than 500 more that's why village honda is and should be your one stop and only automotive destination in calgary they're worth the trip village honda in the northwest automobile your dealership for life oh life oh the single we go to uh chicago illinois and we're joined by our uh our guest ret war
Starting point is 01:04:43 corner. How's O'Hare? Busy. Yeah. It's very busy. A lot of people. Oh, hair? You don't say. Yeah. For some reason, they like going through O'Hare. All the folk and O'Hare. Gotcha. How was flight one? Yeah, how was the flight? Bumpy, small plane from Buffalo to Chicago. And it's the windy city, in case you didn't know. Is that right? Hmm. Apparently, it was windy. Apparently. One of those, and the, the, One of those small United flights where the tube of the plane is about that big? Like the tennis ball can. If you're sitting against the window, you're like this, the whole flight.
Starting point is 01:05:21 It's like two on one side, one on the other. How long is this flight? 100%. You've got it nailed down exactly what happened. Yeah. And the big dummy him with, he's the larger man now. See, he gets choice of seat apparently. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 01:05:36 I got squashed right in there. I never thought I would see the day. You've gone from buying extra seats to now not having the choice. of seats. Pulled rank on you. It's brutal. Pull up your socks. I'm getting weak in my old age, Dean.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Yeah, aren't we all? So you're on route to, is it St. Paul or Minnie or what are we doing? I think it's actually called Blaine. Oh, really? For all the autograph seekers who will be waiting for you at the airport. Are the buses in hotels? What do you call them?
Starting point is 01:06:12 Autograph seekers. Right. Seekers. You were going to say something? An eight-plex. I've never been to an eight-plex before. Oh, wow. I've been one of Burnaby.
Starting point is 01:06:24 The Burnaby eight rings. That's one that gets some love in van, but it's a lot of ice, a lot. Apparently, you can do a lot of walking. Do you buy eight, eight Zambonis for that? Do you try and read the ice times to, I wonder how that works.
Starting point is 01:06:41 I think two or three, for sure, you get that job done. Two or three? On an 8plex? It takes 15 minutes to do one. Yeah, but what if you got some? What do you got some overtime? What if you got some shootouts? And then you can't start this one,
Starting point is 01:06:52 then you're late for that one. Oh, they did bleep back. I like your math's a little, uh, I want to check your math there, Jared. All right. Sorry. Yeah. So who, uh, so it's the Buffalo, the junior savers will be watching online. Is there some, uh, rink hub or rink barn that we can be watching?
Starting point is 01:07:09 Hi, Barn. I'm, I'm, I'm sure there is. I don't know what it is and I can't promote it because I don't know the name of our show. So it's hard to remember these things. What have you thought of the show so far? It's been pretty good. I don't like the snake in the helmet, not a fan at all. I was going to send, I was going to send that to some relatives that live down in the Scottsdale area.
Starting point is 01:07:34 Do we know that's where it's from, though? Do we know that that's where it's from? No, I'm just saying the snake. There's snakes. It looks awfully familiar because I found a snake in their garage at one point cleaning up the garage. There's a snake in my boot. You also see the little those things too, right?
Starting point is 01:07:55 Scorpions is what he's trying to. Scorpions. Yeah, with the tail of the background. Terrible, terrible reenactment by you, Dean. Just awful. Charades, no good. It's these things. Crabs, crabs, clad of cream.
Starting point is 01:08:13 What? Settle down. Jesus. Shave your pubs. What? No, no, you don't need to. Anyway, so how many games, how many days? What are we doing?
Starting point is 01:08:25 Well, we're here till Monday, but there's only three games on the schedule. It's all depending on how we do one game a day. Apparently, it's a big deal. There's a whole bunch of teams. There was even talk downtown at the practice that the four teams from the Junior Sabres maybe to have piled their money together and chartered a flight. Oh, wow. Instead of that tennis ball container.
Starting point is 01:08:48 Yeah. Yeah. I was all for it. I mean, it sounds kind of crazy. I'll charter a flight, but you're probably not wrong. For the convenience, it's going to be more, but you split that sucker up, maybe throw, you know, throw the pilot of a bottle of whiskey or something. You know, it's like you're doing the small town.
Starting point is 01:09:08 It's like, hey, you know, we'll get your big jug of Crown Royal or something for your gotta have a handle on it. Got to get a handle on it. That's right. You got to have a handle on it. Retro news this morning out of Calgary. I don't know if you heard Jacob Markstrom is not. morning skate. Oh shit.
Starting point is 01:09:24 Dabl at R on the ice, but he's not eligible to come off fire until tomorrow. Oh, shit. Yeah. So Dustin Wolf has to play net and go and open the gate for the D. Or it's a double dusty, you get dusty nickel the gate for Dustin Wolf to net. Chet! Wolf! Change! God damn it. Click, click, go, go, two, two, two.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Okay. So it's going to be a lot for, for Wolfie Boy tonight. Well, it's supposed to be a big wig, so, uh, Hopefully he can handle it. Star and waiting, they say, I guess he can handle the pressure. No, Markstrom gets the morning off. Linar can't go in because he's on the IR.
Starting point is 01:09:59 Markstrom will be there to back up tonight is what we're led to believe. So if somebody's asking you, because you, of course, are the resident insider for the flames in your group, if they come to you looking for, did I hear, maybe is there a trade or something? Hey, just doesn't need to be at the morning skate. We've talked about this, Red.
Starting point is 01:10:16 This is actually being smart. This is not being job justifyingly dumb. If you want to give Marksum and off, Don't make them take shots for 30 minutes with the spares. When you're a Vesda trophy candidate, you get to decide what you want to do, don't you? Isn't that how it works? Is it possible that Conroy and Huska and Iggy could be implementing
Starting point is 01:10:36 some of this Rett Warner logic that you've been trumpeting for years and years? Darrell wasn't going to do it. He's old school. You know what? You're the best goalie on the planet and you're not playing tonight. Stay the F home. Do whatever you want. Do whatever you want. Make your wife out for dinner, sleep in.
Starting point is 01:10:54 Yeah, here's a gift card. Go to the movies. You're probably exhausted after last night. Just round the horn, anyone exhausted from last night? Or are we all? No, slept great, Dean, out early and plenty of hours. Lots of REM sleep. Yeah, got to sleep early and slept late.
Starting point is 01:11:17 And remember when I said best of intentions yesterday morning to get that gift? and it still hasn't. It still hasn't. You did get the bacon, though? You did get the bacon. No, bacon was delicious. Yeah. I wouldn't call it thick cut, though.
Starting point is 01:11:32 That was, that was, it was, it was, it was, wasn't thick, but it was good. Really. How are you doing for time? When do you need to get on your thing? You're playing. Well, I think it got a half hour. All right. Oh, beauty.
Starting point is 01:11:45 I did go out yesterday to, you know, you got to get the card. You got to do all that. So, um, what the hell happens? the kid, the middle kid had something he had to go to. So I went out, got some stuff, came back, took him to the thing, came back. So I got the card. I did go out and get a card, as you had said, retro. Make sure you get a card.
Starting point is 01:12:03 Got it. But it's right here. I kind of forgot to give it to her. Yeah, mine's actually on the side, the door on the driver's side and the container on the door. I thought of it last night after. I didn't give her the card. Oh, she's asleep. Didn't you see the card?
Starting point is 01:12:21 I had it tucked under your pillow. I can't believe you missed it. You silly goose. You must have went right to sleep. So tired, hey? Well, it's important you get your rest. We had a heart-shaped pizzas, Rhett, at a place in mission. The kids came with.
Starting point is 01:12:40 We had the PWHL and the TV. What a time. What a time was had by all. I bet. I did take a Ret Warner recommendation yesterday. Road Love, Swing? I did not write a love letter. No for dinner last night.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Oh. We cluck and cleaver last night. Cluck and Cleaver? Yeah. It's a huge clock and success. I love it. Yeah. More for,
Starting point is 01:13:05 more for hubby than wife, I think, probably at the end of the day. I sure she loved it. If you don't like the C&C, get out of here. They got the app. So do you want a little bit of this,
Starting point is 01:13:18 the tenders? Yeah. Some fries and grape. Oh, yeah, fries gravy. Large gravy. Large gravy. I mean, crazy is there.
Starting point is 01:13:24 There's other sizes than large. What are you asking me? Would you like? How would you like your, your eight piece broken out? Maybe a couple. Oh, yeah, yeah. Extra breast. Yeah, extra breast.
Starting point is 01:13:35 Um, drumsticks. Get those fucking drumsticks out of here. Oh, really? Come on now. Drumsticks are always. Drumsticks are always strong. I mean, if you got a bucket full of drumsticks or nothing, you're taking the drums. You are, but I mean, here it is.
Starting point is 01:13:46 You're on the app. You got a choice. That's true. So thank you, uh, cluck and cleaver for a delicious meal last night. just not a sponsor. I don't like the free plugs, but you know what? They have two locations now and one is right in my neighborhood. One is a par five away and I don't want to lose it.
Starting point is 01:14:02 You get someone in sales to call the Cluck and Cleaver. They owe us $1,000. Would you like some clucking hot sauce? You're clucking right, I do. Oh, the ladies from Clucketleaver are great too. They're great. I'll tell you what. It was humming in there last night.
Starting point is 01:14:18 Good. Nothing says I love you like. bird jugs of gravy I was and it was a proud moment my daughter at one point who honestly she she was tom boyish for a while now she's gonna she can be 13
Starting point is 01:14:37 it's now a lot of lip gloss and she's getting like it's starting to motions and stuff like that that's what she's asked that's that's big for her but we were sitting there last night and she had finished what she was eating right into the box of fries with the fingers
Starting point is 01:14:53 and then swirled it in the tub of the gravy and ate it. She was chastised for it but not by your dad. The dad was proud, just kind of hey, you don't do you. I did, set him. Go get take some with the fork, put on your plate,
Starting point is 01:15:11 and put some on there. Sweetie, you never change who you are. Beautiful. You be you. Make your dad so goddamn proud. I'm so goddamn proud of my dad. All right. Well, we should do a little bit of ask for up for Bontan meets. Bontan meets.
Starting point is 01:15:34 Greg Gregory sent me some photos for Super Bowl Sunday. He was over to Buddy's house. This buddy of his, whoever it is. Dude is invested in the right stocks and bonds, I think. Just like Ozzy Brad's man, kid? It's no disrespect to Ozzy Brad. This is another level. He's got classic cars.
Starting point is 01:15:52 that have been retro like Restle mods on it's unbelievable unbelievable and that's how he spent his Super Bowl Sunday. Oh, what'd you do? Oh, I just sat at home and pumped farts into my coach. That's about all I did.
Starting point is 01:16:10 But Bontan meets Alberta beef, AAA, Alberta beef, free range poultry, grain fed, Alberta lamb, milk fed veal, Alberta pork. We've said it before. This is, when you've, go in there, you'll get that vibe as soon as you walk in, you'll smell it, you'll feel it. It's busy all the time because it is the very best. And you don't need to, sometimes you go to a grocery store. So what's the good cut? Is this a good one? Or is this going to taste like leather when I go home
Starting point is 01:16:36 a cook? Not only do they have the best product. Ask the people about preparation. What do I do? Here's how many people I have. Here's what we're doing. Here's what we like. What would you recommend? They're the very best at it. Bontan meat market is, once again, Again, Calgary Consumer Choice Award winner for Best Deli Meat Market, 28 Crowfoot Circle in the Northwest. So we have some questions that have been coming in on the chat, and a couple that have been coming in via email. We'll go to the email here.
Starting point is 01:17:07 This is from John. Hey, Rhett, my neighbor still has his Christmas lights up. Not only that, they still turn them on every night. how many more days until I go over and just take them down myself? That's from John. So they're pumping up the lights still. John, I want you to go next year to make sure you get on our trip to Phoenix or wherever we go in January. So you can get away and relax and have some fun and not worry about someone else's lights.
Starting point is 01:17:42 I think that you're taking it too seriously. I think you've got to just, they're very festive folk you live with. I say every day they have their lights on, you pop in for a little Christmas cheer. Yeah, that's right. We'll be down real quick. But it's because now a lot of the homes, they'll have like the gem lights and they're on a lot. Some are just kind of decorative. But I have, I admittedly have seen some, they're not the gem lights.
Starting point is 01:18:06 It's like the, the Noma string. Yeah. I would suggest by the end of Fab. This person is maybe smarter than the rest. You don't have to turn, you don't have to turn them on, but you might want to wait till it's warm out to take them down. I'm okay with that. We just saw all the issues. We just saw all the issues with the ladders and the Pender reports lately.
Starting point is 01:18:26 Like you got to be careful. It hasn't been that cold though. Retro was cold. There was a cold snap there when we were in Phoenix. Other than that, it's probably been, you know. Probably. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:18:39 Is there a new year? Lunar New Year a couple days ago. Is that how it go? Yeah. So do you put Christmas lights up? I'm not sure how it go. Wouldn't be Christmas lights. It'd be lunar New Year lights. It's just said my idea. I still don't know why you're not stopping in for a drink every day. Say, oh, hey, happy holidays. That's the move.
Starting point is 01:18:56 That is the move. Now, Ken has been in the chat this morning with some very controversial things. He told me to do some very untoward things to Frank Sierra Valley's winter coat. I'm not going to do that. I'll ask, Rhett, what's better barbecue ribs or smoked ribs for this time of year and what goes best as a side? Now, for you, because now, I'm going to let you finish. For me personally. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:19 For me personally, it's it's barbecue rips. I like smoked, but it doesn't like me. There's some damage afterwards. There's a lot of burpin. And it carries with me for a couple days. So I'm a barbecue guy, potato salad, cold slough, fries, cornbread, whatever you're fancy. I'm more of a main course as opposed to side dish in this instance.
Starting point is 01:19:45 Give me the ribs. Gotcha. I do like a good coleslaw. Have you over smoked them? I've had, I have not oversmoked them, but that's what scared me off. I used to go to a barbecue joint, and it was real smoky.
Starting point is 01:19:59 Yeah. Ooh. So much of that, like, the wood and in there, yeah, I don't know. But, and I'm going to, again, you had said not that longer when I agreed with you. What do you tend to do now with your ribs? Just in the oven.
Starting point is 01:20:14 Bake them. Just bake them. Get that sticky Be barking. Don't boil them ahead. Don't steam them. Don't worry about it. Just put him in there.
Starting point is 01:20:21 Low and slow. Low and slow, baby. And not 16 hours slow. Brett, do you do I yoga? Oh my God. Is this the thing? Is that or does he mean?
Starting point is 01:20:36 Not on purpose. If I do, I don't do it on purpose. I was wondering when I saw it or is, did they mean like you, like EW.E? Like, is that some sort of like a sheep yoga?
Starting point is 01:20:46 Because people do goat yoga. Yeah, They do goat yoga? Do you do goat yoga? I do eye avoidance with people I recognize and don't want to talk to. I do eye glancing when I'm looking at things I'm not supposed to. Right. But I don't do it.
Starting point is 01:21:04 Eye avoidance. Yeah. I'm very good at the eye avoidance. But not eye yoga. Yeah. Not yet. Did you remember your bus pass? do you get that?
Starting point is 01:21:18 Do you find it? Did you get it? I can't. I'm going to wait until the end of the month because it's 80 bucks for $8 for another one. Two weeks. Two weeks now. Well, here's a hockey question from Jim.
Starting point is 01:21:33 Rhett, what's your honest opinion of Manjee's play and what should the team do with them? This is a thing. And not to say it's not a thing, but there's some discussion now happening online, social media because Manjipani had a great season. then he was signed.
Starting point is 01:21:49 Since then, he's not matched that, hasn't been close to that last year. Injury, okay, this year not, as far as we know, not an injury. And in one year left, one year left to the UFA. And one year left until he's a unrestricted free agent. So it's, isn't it? He's no different than anyone else on the team for me. I'm listening and taking offers and considering options. If somebody comes at me and goes, you know what?
Starting point is 01:22:17 we really want this kid. We're going to give you this. And it makes sense. You trade them. If not, you get them for another year, let them figure it out. I'll say this too.
Starting point is 01:22:27 Like you've got Coronado, Pelche, pospousal, Zeri, Sharon Govich is a winger, not a center probably. Kuzmenko, Huberto's not going anywhere, Coleman's not going anywhere.
Starting point is 01:22:37 All of a sudden you got a lot of wangers. Like this, it's not as if you couldn't plug someone into that line with Backlin and Coleman and see them play well that. That feels like a great spot for Peltche. If you eat half the money, like you need some money.
Starting point is 01:22:47 You need some. some room for some wangers here. You might have Hansick on this team at this time next year. Six guys have more goals than he does. And I think it's, he's just at home in this spot. And it's, it's, it's not like that line isn't valuable, but you were paying him and expecting him more to more than being a third line 12 goal guy. Yeah, you wanted 20 to 25, which is easy. Never mind the 30 plus. Yeah, before the deal. I think we're all the same opinion. Plus, it's a hockey question. And I ask Redf, so I don't want to really spend a lot of time with it.
Starting point is 01:23:23 It's kind of lame. It's bigger and more important things to deal with. Has the shoveler ever had to throw down at a team party? I don't remember the shoveler ever. Because we remember Beezer's wife had to. John Van Biesbrook's wife, she was ready to throw to shoot the old dukes at a team party. Yeah, some team... Well, now, you're idiotic.
Starting point is 01:23:46 You're... your, you're making, it seem like she's done something wrong, but that's not the case at all. Not really laying blame. I think she just wanted to punch somebody. She wasn't throwing down. Somebody else was an idiot, so you don't blame the misses. And the shoveler, no, she would challenge you to drinking contests lots on numerous,
Starting point is 01:24:05 numerous occasions. Oh, love to shoot. A team of hockey players being challenged a drinking contest. And not losing. I will say not losing. I was going to say. knowing the bloodlines and where, you know, the origins and the roots of the shoveler, you may not want to take, uh, you may not want to take her on in a, in a drinking contest.
Starting point is 01:24:28 Well, we saw in that old Bolerama video, she was not having any messing around with Ms. Ferrence there. Just dusted her aside, slandering my name. Get out of here. She did pull a few Hulk Hogan moves, which is like the, uh, the shirt gripping at the start of. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's a few bars in Australia. That was interesting.
Starting point is 01:24:50 You were dating. That's when you know you had a keeper, rep. I'm so, I've never loved you more than right now. Babe, that was so awesome. I'm so attracted to you right now. There's another question. I mean, it's, I don't even know what this means. Indica or sativa.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Yeah, I think we know what that means. Is that spices? Yeah, it's a food question, and Dean and you don't get picky when you can be. You don't want to get picky. You don't remember. Indica kind of sounds like in the couch, so it's going to be more melancho. And the team is going to be much more social and energy five.
Starting point is 01:25:28 Because I thought maybe we were talking about the ribs because some people use mustard. It's kind of for smoking. That's true. Yeah, that's not the barbecue. That's the smoking. Yes. That's the smokes flavoring. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:41 If Mark's from Cabin moved by the deadline, is Vigargo on waivers to make room for Wolf and that guy has to get his feet with. Well, that's really hotkey. I feel like that question can be asked later on in the year when we know if Mark Strumer. Right. It's at the if and then go to the van. Yeah, yeah. Let me dip back in here to the old ask, Brett.
Starting point is 01:26:04 Oh, I asked you, that was a good one last week. Why do I put my keys in my left pocket and then go to pick up everything with my left head? It's really, really good. Hey, Rhett. Who was better? at that age and you'll kind of get your kid or you so whatever age your kid is who is better you or him my kids my kids better but it was but relative to his teammates or just how skilled
Starting point is 01:26:30 there these days what are you talking about skilled skilled yeah I would think they don't hit and they'd never been in a fight and it's so it's a different world but yeah they're way more skilled way no no all of them are you when you were 15 or whatever or him at 15. That's the question. I know. I had one goal. It feels like you're kind of talking about kids,
Starting point is 01:26:55 kids in general. Yeah, but he is a kid in general and all kids are better. And him specifically is way better than I. He can't. It's better. He doesn't. Yeah, he doesn't hit. But no one hits like we used to like Corey Sarge.
Starting point is 01:27:10 Oh my God. Crush. That's what we used to do. And nowadays that's very, very, very, very. rare and you get penalized for it if you do happen to catch someone. So, but no, I had one goal. I had one goal when I was 15. I think he's got like 25.
Starting point is 01:27:27 It's not even close. The reason I'm, but the reason I'm laughing is, listen, we like to take runs at you off the glass and out. You were a highly touted guy. Would you go in the Western draft twice? Second. Five.
Starting point is 01:27:41 Fifth overall in the W.HL draft. I mean, give yourself a little credit. Well, why don't we wait for the WHL? Why don't we wait till the WHL draft to find out? Then I can brag if I happen to beat him. Or he can brag. What's higher? This or fifth overall?
Starting point is 01:27:58 Which one's higher? Is that my math? Dad, one is higher than five. Yeah. Oh, shit. You won't be one. When is that? May.
Starting point is 01:28:09 We looked at it a couple weeks ago. Typically it's in May. So I'd assume it's in May again. How's the ice fishing in Buffalo? is it? Terrible year for ice fishing. Maybe it's not cold enough. Climate change.
Starting point is 01:28:23 The lakes haven't frozen. People get all wound up here to have these backyard rinks and honest to God. It's a pain in the ass of Calgary, but you get usage of it. In Saskatoon, you get lots of usage. Here, maybe 10 skates. Maybe that is the best year ever if you get 10 skates on it. go to all that work idiots i feel like we need to do that somehow one of these years find some place where there's good wifi still and we can go and sit in an ice shack and fish and do a
Starting point is 01:28:58 show my backyard and cougar no i mean good fish like i mean it's just good fishing it's yes i didn't know that i want to haul a hook onto a big friggin slew shark or something All right. Jack, do you have 10,000 feet of cable, Ethernet? I'm sure we can make it work. I said Wi-Fi. See, you are so technologically stupid. Yeah, look at me.
Starting point is 01:29:28 In the middle of the lake, you're thinking you're getting Wi-Fi. I'm confused here. There's got to be some. We did a show with like cell data one. No, that's true. And there are those cell packs that you could get to Wi-Fi. Yeah, okay. Get Elon Musk's what's that Starlink?
Starting point is 01:29:42 Starlink. Oh, there you go. That's the move. Yeah. People just want to ask you about food. Like wherever they're traveling. Well, good. I'm going to eat because I'm starving.
Starting point is 01:29:52 This is BS. Going to Los Angeles, where do we eat? There's a billion people in a lot. Yeah, and restaurants. Go to Venice Beach and look at the crazy. I don't mean to rip you. That's my chicken finger. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:11 What do you got there? Is that green? Show us. Blue cheese. cheese. Lift it up. Lift it up. What you got there?
Starting point is 01:30:18 That's the meat. What is the meat? Chicken, is it like a buffalo. It's like a buffalo chicken salad wrapy stuff. Oh, you got it all over your face. Oh, I could have got him with the thing on your. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:36 Is this good? Great. So good. It's a good shot for sure. Yeah. Okay. Well, guess we're done. That's it.
Starting point is 01:30:46 Have a good flight, Rhett. Are we gone? Well, no, gosh, no. No, there's more show to do. Are you on tomorrow? Go ahead and ask. No, we're good. That's fine.
Starting point is 01:30:57 Real good tomorrow. I'm on tomorrow. Yeah. Are you? But I don't know what time. No, you're on the full show tomorrow because I'm off tomorrow. Thanks, Rhett. Appreciate it.
Starting point is 01:31:05 I know I'm on the full show, but I don't know what time I can start. Yeah. Bye for now. Let's ask Rett for Bonton meets. 28 crowfoot circle in the northwest. You know what I will say about Greg and Bonton. Very trustworthy, reliable. You can set your watch to them.
Starting point is 01:31:33 It's true. Yeah. There for you when you need them. Do some Betway bets. That's it. All right. Betway bets. A presentation of Betway. Get the Betway app.
Starting point is 01:31:53 Bet the responsible way with Betway go in there. We have got, what, 12 games tonight? Whoa. Five cup rematches. Let's go. Lots of action there. I saw that. I don't know how much we're allowed to say.
Starting point is 01:32:05 But when you get onto the app, sometimes there's specials. There's things going on. Hey, here's what's happening. That way boost, maybe. Just go start to take a look through the hockey.
Starting point is 01:32:13 When you go into the hockey thing, there's a, there's a boost of some sort there for a member of the Vancouver Canucks that's boosted up a little bit there. Give it a look. Anyway, let's take a look at the, uh,
Starting point is 01:32:25 the bet we bets. One pot for McKenzie Weeger tonight. one or more ponds. That's a plus 105. Scoring every game practically. Never about a point. Love it, Dean. Yeah. And you know what? The ponds, there's been a lot of ponds for him lately. And this isn't even just, this isn't even goals.
Starting point is 01:32:45 This is just a pont or more. Jack, are you a plus 105. Picking up what he's putting out. And then this is a little bit of a combo. Same game, Sharks Flames. And anytime goal for Connor's Erie and a Flames money line. win. Not a goal. I need a goal here.
Starting point is 01:33:03 If he gets a pond, it's not going to come. So you need a goal and a Flames money line win for a plus two. A goal is a pond, but a pond is not necessarily. It is. Yeah, but for this, you're going to need the goal. If Weeger gets a goal, that's still a pond, so that bet would be would trigger. Now what if Weiger
Starting point is 01:33:19 has the goal and Zeri as an assist? Do they both get ponds? Yeah, they both get ponds, but I'm not on a zeri pont bet. never mind i'll let you finish sorry dean that's it those are my two uh for tonight i'm getting a little balls here it's almost the weekend i'm gonna go a little big game hunting i got zari for two ponds and weger also for two ponds it feels like it could be point night at san jose pont night sorry oh i want to mess anyone up here um so hopefully we're painting with ponds
Starting point is 01:33:50 on point night for ponds and uh plus 400 plus 425 i hope it's pontipalooza down at the dome tonight get the bit way up get a hey tablet phone desktop whatever it is and then play along once the game started oh man i didn't get my bed i didn't get in in time you got in game stuff it's things are always moving things it's the best get that that way up proud to have them on board with us here at barnberger hey jack hello shut up uh hey jack uh how was valentine's day buddy because when we last spoke on the show you were wrapping things up and then scrambling to go to the flower store. Yeah, I figured it all out.
Starting point is 01:34:39 Did you? The flower store, got some nice flowers. Yeah. Went to Safeway, got some strawberries covered in chocolate. Got the card, made homemade pizzas. Oh, nice. Wow. Good for you, bud.
Starting point is 01:34:56 Thank you. Honestly, full ponds for that. That is unbelievable. Yeah. Just nailed it. Was it pot night? I'll give myself. Shoot, I was just going to say something there.
Starting point is 01:35:15 What was it? Did you forget your pot? Oh, I actually, not to try and one-up you. I actually made my own chocolate-dipped strawberries yesterday. Oh. Bought the strawberries and then the chocolate, and then you put it in your Bann Marie to melt it because if you put it right into the pot,
Starting point is 01:35:32 you might burn it. And once you burn the chocolate, it's no good. So use a Bannery so that it's just the steam. You're what? the ban ban marie ban marie correct okay so then you're you're not going to burn the chocolate
Starting point is 01:35:46 don't do that you can't do not burn the chocolate and if you're I mean if you're a hillbilly you could just throw it in the microwave I guess but let's be honest it's not really it's not romantic at all yeah so there you go good job there jack I'm happy for you I was a little concerned because you're I mean for for old guys like us yeah
Starting point is 01:36:04 if you don't do something on Valentine's they get mad, but they're already living there. So you just kind of, oh, well, you've been to expect it really. Are you really surprised that this happened? Like you're stunned? This is your fault, not mine. But you're still in that kind of love. Trying.
Starting point is 01:36:21 The trying face. You're still trying. There's still. How many years till I get to that point? Well, you got to get married for sure. Okay. And then pretty quick after that. Never mind if you mix kids in.
Starting point is 01:36:32 And then it's just for a couple of years, it's just going to be spit, piss, shit, vomit. You're in the fog. so yeah and that's just you let alone the kids not a lot of pot night much like a hockey career dwindling offense as your career comes post apex john wise broad would call it yeah yeah all right um Greta next weekend we are going to be at Greta it is it's another one of our we're going out and about it is game day hosted by Flames Nation and Greta Bar Y Y YC, join us at our favorite game day watch party spot,
Starting point is 01:37:18 Gretta bar Y Y YC Saturday, Fem 24. It's the Battle of Alberta. It's up in Edmonton. So what are we going to do? We're going to watch it. We're going to watch on the screens. We're going to have some drinks and some food. Tickets are $10.
Starting point is 01:37:30 Now here's the thing. We've got to do tickets to get into this. You just need to do it because we're taking the money and proceeds are going to closer to home. That's the same charity that we raise money for during our top shelf health Christmas campaign. We're doing it again. So yeah, that's,
Starting point is 01:37:43 that's what it is. It's a, it's just so we can keep track of how many people are coming. And then the money can be directed. So that's what we're saying. You're not, you know, 10,
Starting point is 01:37:54 I say this as well, you're going to get a shot when the flames score. There's all kinds of swag. You're getting more than 10 bucks value to come hang out, watch oilers flames. And if it turns into a S-Fest or Pont-night for the Oilers, you can just go play ski ball or whatever. You're good.
Starting point is 01:38:10 Yeah, ski, which one is that? roll it and okay yeah yeah whack them old they go whack emole the old one yeah i think that i knew that was called schemo anyway so there and and along with that 10 bucks proceeds to closer to home food prizes we're doing stuff event is brought to you by our event partners at mccloud law and village Honda so everybody's on board we're looking forward to it you know at this point of the season right it's a saturday night we're watching hockey together we're playing some arcades
Starting point is 01:38:41 together and we're raising money for charity. Damn right. Nationgear.ca. Same place you go for the bowling event is where you buy tickets to this event. Nationgear.ca for game day over at Greta coming up next Saturday, the 24th. Greta. Now, Casey isn't going to be there, is he? Straten around with this. I hope he is, but he is a bit of an oiler's
Starting point is 01:39:01 hot. It might not be the right there. Bloody thing. Well, he's got that fancy restaurant next door. Let's hope he's in a tuxedo next door just for the Oilers night. Every of the night, love seeing him. Goosh. rather seem I like other than that I'm rather fond of Casey
Starting point is 01:39:15 I think he's a very nice guy He's generous and all that that whole thing But then every time it comes around It's like oh you are uh Did you guys see McDavid and dry settle? They're really good Yeah we know Casey Yeah
Starting point is 01:39:26 So let's do it now It should be easy tonight We talked about so there's a flame In flames game So I mean I guess I'd be on the The DoorDash tonight But for what's on the menu for DoorDash We've been telling you for a while
Starting point is 01:39:38 If you haven't already You're missing out DoorDash You know what it is It shows up at your door. But here's the thing. If you haven't done it yet, then why not tonight? Why not tonight? Ordering's easy. You get the DoorDash app on your phone. Choose what you want from where you want. Items show up just outside your door and for a limited time. If you've not done it before, your first order of $15 or more, you're going to get 25% off and zero delivery fees when you put in the
Starting point is 01:40:00 promo code Nation 25, Nation 25, and you'll get that little discount. It's not a little, it's 25%. About discount on your first order. So this would be, come on now let's get after it so we know what the nightcap is but we sometimes need to go to appetizers so we'll start there dean because you already advertise it for your dinner probably how about a little Colorado Tampa Bay two years ago this was the Stanley Cup final and I would not be very comfortable betting against either of these clubs stars studded on both sides you get the Calgarians brandon point log it of Connor kale McCarr head to head Stanley Cup rematch it is a five o'clock start from amalie arena where they just announced
Starting point is 01:40:38 those brand new third jerseys for the lightning that'll be fun and then you can settle in for flame sharks, which might be at a bit of a different speed limit than bolts avalanche. That 7 o'clock from the dome. Dash that for the win with door. What are you orders if you're ordering tonight? What are you got? Well, Jack, you know what? Jack kind of got me with the pizza.
Starting point is 01:40:58 Yeah. Homemade pizza. I might try and find a pizza spot that I haven't used in it. It made me something new. Try to get a little crazy. It's a Thursday in front of the day. Thursday in front of the long weekend. Yep.
Starting point is 01:41:12 Go do a little sniffing around on the DoorDash app looking for pizza. Well, what are the reviews here? What are people saying about this one? Maybe, you know what? Maybe I want something with a big, Big thick. What are you known for? Mom and Pop crust made like a.
Starting point is 01:41:27 Detroit style? Or maybe a thin crust. Maybe I want to do a little thin crust. Chris. I'm starving. I don't know that I ate breakfast this morning. I'm dying right now. And stupid Reddit that you start eating that thing.
Starting point is 01:41:37 I know he did. I just hate him so much. I hate him so much. you mentioned that three times today. Did I? Three. Didn't even know I said it once. Got how that goes.
Starting point is 01:41:49 So you are off tomorrow? Are you doing something significant, substantial, fun, exciting? We are venturing into the mountains. We're going to go skate in the lake for a few days. Kids have only practices this weekend. So we'll just say practice on the lake instead. And it's been a busy, busy month. Mama went down to see you two at the sphere.
Starting point is 01:42:04 And we've been traveling a bunch in January. So we'll just get to chill out and get a fire going. Let's go. Aren't you one of the coaches? yes, I am. There's five of us. So, yeah, attendance has been tough. It feels like you're maybe shirking your responsibility there.
Starting point is 01:42:17 Just a little. Yeah. Yeah. And taking the kids out. So the kids show up for the games, but not for practices? That's correct this week. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:26 Thanks, Dean. Have fun in Lathbridge. Really hope it's not too windy there. Sorry, we can't make the practices, but when's the game? We'll be there for the game. Jack, what, so Jack, you got plans for the weekend?
Starting point is 01:42:47 No plans. I got to work the Saturday game. I got to work the Monday. So I'm stuck here. Double matinee afterburners. That's right. Two o'clock starts. I mean probably 5 p.m.
Starting point is 01:42:56 Afterburners Monday and Saturday. What kind of pizza? So tell me, you made homemade pizzas. Walk me through this. Pretty simple guy. You buy the dough. You roll out the dough. Buy the sauce.
Starting point is 01:43:13 Put the sauce. Put the sauce on, roll up the crust, load her up with cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, and then a shit ton of pepperoni. Throw in the oven, delicious. A little bit of oil, too. Don't have to overcomplicate things, right? So cheese, then the toppings on top? Yeah, on top.
Starting point is 01:43:31 Gotcha. Some will go the other way and some will do two layers of cheese. Mm-hmm. Yeah. What's your move, Dino? I tend to do it, and it's, I'm good either way. I do sauce toppings cheese. Okay.
Starting point is 01:43:44 Cheddar Motsa blend kind of thing. Oddly, it's the way that we've, I put the oregano on top of the cheese. This is very weird, but it's not going to melt in anyway, kind of. It's a very unique kind of a, kind of a flavor. God.
Starting point is 01:43:59 I'm making, yeah, I don't know. It's going to be pizza tonight. I'm dying now. Dying over here. So where are you bought, so you bought the dough?
Starting point is 01:44:06 Where'd you buy the dough? Just a safe way. I got everything that's safe way. flowers, the cart, the dough. I'm going to teach you how to make dough, son. If you're making buns, you're a bun master. You can make dough, right, Dino? Let's do a pizza show.
Starting point is 01:44:23 We can easily do a pizza show. You go down to Dino's kitchen again. Remember Super Bowl or no, what was it? You're hanging out? What was it? It was Thanksgiving. Yes, American Thanksgiving. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:44:33 Because I used to be, I would go and you'd buy the pizza box kit thing because, well, you need the dough and the sauce and all that. we can do her all up buddy because once you start making your own dough and that you realize why would yes it's too easy it's too easy to do let's do it okay just googling detroit style pizza what's the difference the detroit right to the edges with they do the cheese right to the edge so you get no crust basically it's kind of like if you're the pizza hut pan pizza if you remember it's right to the edge but it comes in a square or rectangle i guess is probably it's square a lot of the sauce on the top and the cheese caramelizes against the high-sided, heavy-weighted rectangular pan. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:18 Yes. Very good. This is good. I'm not getting anything done today now. I'm probably going to go have pizza for lunch and then make more for supper or something. Double pie. Double header. Oh, so good.
Starting point is 01:45:37 Matthew Phillips is on waivers this morning. Up in a great year. and they've got a billion wingers, do you? Just do it. Look, people are going to say, you are you so much, the travesty was not, not keeping Matthew Phillips.
Starting point is 01:45:58 It's not knowing what the hell he was by the time he was 24. They had to guess at what Matthew Phillips was at the NHL level. That was the travesty. He has turned out to not be a legitimate impact maker at the NHL level,
Starting point is 01:46:11 hence being on waivers. Not there. Not in Washington. Yeah, so are you going to take Peltier out of the lineup for him? Coronado, who's not even up yet now? Help Jay's hurt. He's day to day.
Starting point is 01:46:24 Let's get out of here. Love the kid. Go to San Jose. They'll play you on the second line. Let's go. Come to Calgary. San Jose's here. It's going to be the reunion tour.
Starting point is 01:46:39 Stop and pick up John. And again, he did score a goal against the flames. He did score against the flames. And in limited action a year ago, what, he hit the post? Yeah. Remember that backdoor play? damn near tucked her in. Yeah, against Toronto.
Starting point is 01:46:53 Darrell give him a good 10 minutes twice, yep. Free Bubba. Free Bubba. Let's go. Tomorrow on the show, Ryan's going to miss it, but we will go inside the Great Clips inbox. If you have a question for myself, for Rhett, for Pinder,
Starting point is 01:47:09 about the flames, for Jack, about pizza, life, whatever it's going to be, then you can email us now at great clips inbox at flamesnation.ca.ca. People know how email works, right? Not red, but most people do. Yep. Okay, so there's like a, who am I sending it to?
Starting point is 01:47:27 What's it about? I don't even care what it's about. Yep. Just send it to the right address and we'll get it. Yeah. Great Clips inbox. Amper sand. Not ampersand.
Starting point is 01:47:39 Amper sand's the and symbol. Close. Great Clips inbox. At. Is it just called an ad? It's got to have a name. Flamesnation. Dot, CA.
Starting point is 01:47:53 And then you can put in the subject line, click it, whatever, and then go down into the body of the email and then be like, hey, buddies, how about I've got this thing that's growing on my hoopty-do. And what do I show? Should I see a doctor about it? And we'll talk about it on the show. Well, put it on the show. So the ampersands the end.
Starting point is 01:48:15 Yeah, the fancy one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It just says at sign when I Google it. At sign. Hmm. Hmm. Now, also it's been used as a measure of weight in Spain and Portugal called an aroba, the exact same symbol, an aroba. Great Clips inbox, Aroba Flamesnation.ca.
Starting point is 01:48:40 And we'll get into those emails on the show tomorrow inside the great clips inbox. It's going to be great. Love it. Great clips. Let's hope the comments and emails are great. Have a fine weekend, Ryan. Thank you, Dean. Good work today.
Starting point is 01:48:56 Cammy and myself on the afterburner tonight. Oh, good. Yep. Well, Cam boom. Cam boom on the afterburner. So make sure once you're done watching the Flames and Sharks tonight, YouTube's and check us out. We'll be live after the game.
Starting point is 01:49:12 Again, probably taking your questions, giving our in-depth and accurate analysis. And then if you miss that, by all means, download the podcast portion, the audio portion. Then it's right there, fresh audio for you on your way to work tomorrow. I saw the game. I missed the game last night. I wonder what Cam Boom said about it after.
Starting point is 01:49:30 I wonder what their thoughts are. Was that outside? Because I wasn't, I wonder what Cam Boom said about it. Yeah, Cam Boom. Well, they'll get me up to speed. So then as you're going to work tomorrow, shh.
Starting point is 01:49:40 Crystal clear audio in your ear holes. Up to date. Yes. So that'll do it. And then me and Rhett and Jack tomorrow. That's, yeah. You ready to co-host tomorrow, Jack? Yeah, let's do it.
Starting point is 01:49:54 I'm always, because Red has already put out there. Yeah, I'm in tomorrow, but I don't know what time I can start yet. Now, is that him not knowing time zones? Because he just moved one time zone over. It's partly that. Okay. But he's also capable of going the wrong way. Yes. He told me, I'm going to need, we need to start Friday show early. And then he thought about it actually late. And then yesterday he was saying, well, tomorrow in Chicago, I'm going to land at one. So that's what three year time. We're like, No, that's 11 our time.
Starting point is 01:50:26 Yeah. He did know it was two time zones. Yeah. Again, I, how they get to wherever they need to be. Yeah. Is, it's a miracle. But we'll be on the show tomorrow. We'll be talking about the sharks and the flames.
Starting point is 01:50:39 And it's, hey, this, we said it earlier. It's, it's crazy season now. Yeah, we're 22 days out from the deadline. So yes, when a player doesn't show up at morning skate, the alarm bells sound. And is, yeah, it's crazy. but it's what happens. Start of a four-game homestand, sharks, wings, jets, and Bruins.
Starting point is 01:51:00 Then next weekend, we've already talked about the Oilers game. They got the Kings coming. Who knows what the Kings are going to be by then? Who knows what the flames are going to be by then? And then we flip the calendar into the month of March, and it'll be, uh, it's fun. Until the deadline.
Starting point is 01:51:13 Yeah. It's, it's a little, so you guys must be really busy right now. You guys are crazy. Well, yeah. Yeah, it is a weird,
Starting point is 01:51:21 unique spot. And I guess every market maybe deals with it here. there once in a while when the top trade targets are all from the same team. And generally, you don't want to be that because it means you're losing and the team's no good. But there's something about this team. I don't feel like there's misery or despair around. I had some interesting comments.
Starting point is 01:51:41 He's like, two guys that didn't want to be here or gone. We're fine with it. And there's no distractions. And there's like, oh, okay. Isn't that interesting? I mean, it makes sense. I wasn't necessarily death far down the road on Elias Lindholm. You and Rhett were, and that seems to back up your thought.
Starting point is 01:51:53 Well, Rhett certainly was. right? I mean, Rhett, but I'll say at times it looked like a guy who was moping a little bit that was down in the mouth. He did not seem to have the same pep joie de vivre. Certainly, Caudry was brought back around and I mean, Coleman's always kind of been, he's been fairly steady. It doesn't look like he's ready to jump out of his own skin with excitement, but he also doesn't look like he's out of his own skin. With excitement, but he also doesn't look like he's out of great year. Let's be honest, right? He's had a great year.
Starting point is 01:52:20 He was going to come back to Earth, so he hasn't scored a bunch later, whatever. He's, he's already got you 20. That's unreal. So I don't know what it's like in in San Jose where they had a 12 game skid and they're heading towards the trade deadline. Here's the thing. If you're going to miss the play and as we trotted out earlier, it's not like they really have any appetizing UFAs to sell. They have some guys, but they're all making way too much money and are not performing well. Mackenzie Blackwood, whose name we've heard, he's got another year.
Starting point is 01:52:48 It's not ideal. It's not ideal. So I don't. No, it looks good there is Macklin Celebrini. I guess so. He looked good here. He looked in anywhere. My point being they don't have much in the way a high-end skill coming.
Starting point is 01:53:00 That's what this is about this year. Yeah. So that's what's going on. Have a great weekend, Ryan. Talk to you next week. To the rest of you, see you tomorrow, buddies. I'm breaking down the Hanifant trade tonight.
Starting point is 01:53:11 Thanks, my late.
