We may as well do a show.
We're all here.
Look at this.
Everybody's seated.
What class begin?
Boomer Retro and Pinder here on a Tuesday edition of Barnburner.
Welcome, everybody.
On a Calgary Flames game day, get your helmet on, LaBelle Provence,
Montreal, Canadian.
Say, very bien.
A Keske surpass EC.
So, uh,
and Louvre de l'Hé.
Uvre la Fenetra and Fermé Le Port.
where else to start but
with the guy on
on the right
our thing
who's right
I think it's all over right
I'm never right
the uh
no your right is me
no
stage right
like
oh no oh no
fucking jack's screwing it up
what
But how's it going, Peter?
Oh, you know, I felt for you boys yesterday.
That was a big dump of news.
You had the great Supreme Leader's Adorov trade request.
You had the Oilers coaching change.
You had the miserable roadie so far.
That I heard Rhett was in a mood yesterday.
He heard it was fired up.
And I was grumpy.
And I was grumpy.
They usually pair well.
That's the thing, right?
If the team sucks and you're in a mood,
someone's going to take one in the teeth.
That's kind of how it goes, right?
Had nothing to do with the team.
No.
His mood had nothing to do with the team.
Hey.
It was because he dumped some soup in the yard on his way into that house.
Yeah, I did see that.
That does explain it.
Did you bounce back?
Were you able to bounce back?
I wouldn't.
I was okay the rest of the day.
I did get to some stuff off my chest to fly with a few F bombs.
And I was better, but then I felt sheepish about my poor attitude.
and behavior. You always do.
You're kind of, you fly off and then it's like,
is there any way we can take that off? Sorry about that.
It's kind of on YouTube. It's kind of there.
Can we delete the? But I don't think anybody,
I didn't see any reaction of people online saying, you know,
this Warner character, he's way off base. I think a lot of people
share your emotions, your frustrations.
Now, he's, he's been asking for a rebuild too,
so you know there's pain, right? This is how these things go.
It's miserable for a while. You can tell Pinders,
Pinder's dying to talk, hey.
He hasn't been on for a couple days.
He's got to get some stuff off of his chest.
Actually, we should let you talk.
What are your thoughts on it, Pinder?
Go.
Which topic?
Well, you lead to however you see fit.
Well, I mean, you know how happy I was about the Oilers.
I mean, geez, that's great stuff.
They're going to fire the winningest coach in franchise history.
They got to win last night.
Kenny Holland gets to walk into the sunset,
despite building the roster of this team that there wasn't good enough.
that was fun.
That was fun, wasn't it?
Connor's entire entourage runs the team now,
his old junior coach, his old linemates there,
his agents, the CEO.
This is beautiful.
Like, this is the best, isn't it?
Come on.
No?
I'll keep going.
This is your monologue.
All right.
Well, I need some reaction here.
This is what I thrive on.
We did this yesterday.
Oh, okay, okay.
Well, see, my fear is,
is I didn't see or hear yesterday's show
I think you guys probably think Nikita Zadora is still a great leader.
And I disagree.
And we don't know who's right or wrong.
But I think this is an example of why Nikita's hunting for his fifth team.
Because he always thinks he's better than he is.
And he thinks, you know, talking really about his leadership when he's played like shit twice after making massive statements off the ice.
And now is hiding behind his agent saying, oh, no, we can't talk about it.
I want to be a flame for life.
Like, I'm kind of thinking he might be more of an issue.
you than the solution here as much as he's a
toolsy guy that yes
you will get something for at the deadline like you
couldn't wait two months to keep your mouth shut
you're going to get traded anyway
I'm running out of takes here I said it was
kind of a bit of both I said if you
are going to run your mouth or
if you don't want to be there good
get lost and yeah you're gone anyway
maybe you are part of the problem
but I don't mind what he said either because I don't
watching the team
they didn't they don't
come across as a cohesive group and a hard-work bunch.
No.
And I think that's why they got to blow this team up.
Like, they're not good.
And they're getting expensive and old, right?
Yeah.
You could build the case.
And I mean, obviously, it could be one of two things.
It could be neither of these two things.
You could say, here's Nikita Zedorov.
This guy comes out and criticizes his team and talks about guys playing as individuals.
And then about a week later makes the most indebted.
individual move you can make, which is, I want out.
Or on the flip side, and we talked about it a little bit yesterday, that I kind of feel like
there are some leadership qualities that this is a guy who sees things the way they are.
He plays honest.
He's an honest guy.
Maybe he comes out a week ago and speaks his mind.
And now just looks at it and says, you know what?
This is not rectified.
This room is beyond repair.
I just want out.
Yeah, I don't know that he's changing a week.
but I definitely think there's a lot of all that that's true.
I just keep thinking about, okay, like, where was he drafted?
How many teams is he on?
Everyone dreams on the tools.
If he was a real leader with all those tools, he's not looking for his fifth team
and he's not talking through his agent saying he's a top four guy, he's not getting enough ice,
you know, he's not being treated properly.
He's their best D is what his agent's saying.
Like, I get the agents a bit of a clown show, but still, like,
it's a bit of a copo when I own on,
no, no, no, he's just looking up for my interests.
That's his decision.
Like, no, he's representing you, Nikita.
That's his job.
I had two hockey people reach out to me yesterday saying,
you know the agent's a clown show, right?
Like this guy, this Milstein guy,
he's a complete wing nut.
Okay, fair, fair enough.
But you know what?
You can look at it and all of that may be true or none of it,
but he's not the best defenseman on the team,
regardless of his agent says,
this is, he's probably playing his best hockey
that we've seen him play as a flame right now,
aside from the brain cramps he's had.
Yeah, get him out to a better team
so he can play better in theory and get a bigger deal.
This is the agent looking at what have we got?
We've got X amount of time to build a case
as a UFA for Nikita Zedorov.
The best case is probably not going to be made
in Calgary under those circumstances.
Let's get out.
It's always selfish, right?
Yeah, well, I think Liddle probably feels,
the exact same thing, but his agent's not going public with stuff.
Like if Lindholm had said all the same things behind closed doors,
that wouldn't surprise me at all, right?
Yeah.
So it's just your choice of whether you go public or not,
and a clown show agent's a part of that.
But the other is like embarrassing your team
or at least, you know, making yourself look selfish.
You're saying my personal interests are more important
than the interests of the team.
And, you know, like I think he, Hanofin, Lindholm, Tanov,
they all get moved.
But who's going to,
make a circus for the media and the fans and who isn't is maybe a little bit telling?
I would love to know because not that I'm being led to believe this,
but that this was maybe the agent just kind of going rogue.
He was on Twitter.
Yeah.
So, you know, people are tweeting about his client.
And then he made a kind of backward, like backhanded comment about get your tickets
to run or whatever.
Yeah.
And then afterwards, the players like, what fuck are you doing?
Because we've seen this happen before.
remember Mark Andre Fleury was getting knifed in the back by his by Pete DeVore he wanted no part of that he was sour about that that was the agent just completely going rogue and i i think that's part of what happened here because zedorov came out the next day and said you know i got to support my agent he said these things um i think he put him in a bit of an awkward spot but to your point it doesn't matter right now and i do think lindholm is in the same spot hanifin has had has been lukewarm at times at least in the media for whatever that's
worth and Zadorov. We've heard nothing really out of Elias Lindholm to suggest that he's
amenable to an extension here. We really have no it basically has to be such a gross overpay that he
can't turn down the money and that's now off the table with the start they've had so he's still getting
traded. I think the other thing that we forget is like why is Nikita Zadrovo in calgary anyway
he came in he had a fantastic year with erika branson he was a free agent what happened well he
overplayed his hand and thought he was going to get four years times four. The deal that
Branson got was the one that he and his agent thought he was going to get. So if the theme is
Nikita and his agent thinking Nikita's better than he is, well, now there's two incidents that
prove it. He's calling him the best D on the team. And they came back to Calgary with their tail between
their legs because they overplayed their hand of free agency two summers ago. Like all this fits the
Nikita Zedora of huge ego thing. And then you talk to people that have played alongside him or been
in the same room as them. You factor in the high draft pick that he's essentially a
hired gun from the other side of the world.
Like, I'm sorry, this all checks out to me that this isn't a solution nor a guy that
wears a letter on a good team.
Yeah.
I mean, that's my compelling case.
Well, and you don't even need to make a case.
You can do, I think there can be both.
I think that I like how he's played.
I like his emotion.
I like his raw talent.
He makes stupid errors for sure.
But I think he has some skill set there, obviously.
But if you don't want to be here, you don't want to be here.
get the hell out. Yeah, and it's best case
for both sides right now. He's going to get to leave
and they're cashing in when he's playing while, right?
This is a nice asset
to trade right now. To Boomer's point,
he's looked as good as he's looked
at the NHL. Is he still the roller
coaster? Yeah, he's always going to be that.
If he could turn that off,
he'd be a top pair of defenseman making
$10 million a year. He can't. It's who he
is. But he's still playing the best talk of
his career right now. You're going to get some
nice assets or a nice asset
in exchange for Zadora just as a rental.
I wonder if you were to go around the league and take a look
how many roller coasters there really are.
There's so much focus on offense coming from your defenseman right now.
I think the teams are forgiving defensive miscues.
I bet there's a lot of guys that make you scratch your head a lot of nights.
It's not just defensive miscues though.
It's it's puck.
I'll call it puck bibles in places.
You know what I mean?
Like it's not like it's just miscues.
coverage. Like he's making passes that just aren't there sometimes. Anyway. Yeah. He is last man.
So put on your GM hats, both of you. Yeah. Your Craig Conroy. If only, if it's only a draft pick,
if someone offers you a draft pick, what does it have to be today for you to say deal?
A late, second, early third. Because I saw, I think it was, uh, trying to remember who was online
talking about it. And they had thrown out, it's probably a third round pick.
And that might be fair, but that also doesn't make me rush to grab a pen if I'm Craig Conroy and sign off on a deal either, right?
Like I feel a third is going to be there at any point.
This is the problem I have with Zedorov is that if you're getting a third in return, I'd rather sign him.
Wow.
As long as you see, you know, as long as it's not a guy that's in the dressing room and a total pain in the ass, right?
Like, for a third round pick, I wish he'd shut his mouth and signed and we'd just,
let him play 18 minutes a night.
I think that's what they traded for him too back in the day of Chicago, if I'm correct.
Wasn't it a third, Dana?
Yeah, I think it was.
Yeah.
But and so, and the other thing we remember is like, okay, so why do you guys get more at the deadline than they do at other points of the season?
Well, it's like, well, because there's not as much salary to pay.
Teams continue to build cap space as the season goes on.
Your best chance at getting the biggest haul for Nikita Zedorov is right at the deadline.
And so that's why I didn't really get what the agent was doing.
because Craig Conroy is not beholden to a third pair defenseman.
He's got to make this team better.
And his best offer is likely going to come at the deadline when more of his contracts rolled off.
Contenders have more cap space.
It's a more easily done deal and more GMs bid against each other.
Is there any chance, though, that this GM, I don't know, I'm from nothing, but has talked to a couple other, or this agent, has talked to a couple other GMs.
And they actually have expressed interest.
and he's like, why aren't you pulling the trigger, Conroy?
It happens a lot.
I wouldn't surprise me, but it doesn't really change that Craig Conrack pulls this whole timeline, right?
Yeah, it does.
No, and I just come back to it.
I think from the agent, what, what is he doing?
He's got whatever it is, 70 games to build the best case for his player for July 1.
Yeah.
And that's fair.
And in his mind, the sooner he gets out of Calgary to somewhere else,
theoretically a contender, because they would be trading for him,
that his play could improve.
Well, and careful what you wish for.
You can send this guy to San Jose and he could be top pair, no sweat.
Like it's Mario Ferreiro and somebody else playing top pair in San Jose.
And it's like, that might not look good on your resume.
You don't look good with more minutes sometimes Big Cat.
Sometimes less is more.
Ask Good Branson.
It could be the other way.
You go to a contender.
Okay.
Hey, congrats.
You're going to Boston.
Enjoy your nine minutes a night.
Yeah.
Yeah, totally.
Enjoy your, right?
Like, enjoy the press box once every five games because there's depth there.
I,
Branson's the case in point, man.
Like,
they're,
they're very similar,
aren't they?
And they both thrived when they finally got slotted properly on a third pair together.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So,
yeah,
I think because the trade request went out within the last week,
there are some people closely monitoring this thing.
I mean,
I'm,
I'm kind of going to be,
I'll feel it's,
I'll be surprised.
Unless the deal is really good,
then you pull the trigger.
But like you say,
you don't have an abundance of D on hand if you're,
if you're,
if you're,
if you're the flame.
right now. You kind of, you want to play
them. You have Dennis Gilbert or whatever.
Can I, can I ask a question?
Like, I get that you're going to get
your most return at the trade
deadline. And I don't know
that he's going to,
and I'm talking about it's a door off, be the
catalyst for keeping
you three draft positions higher.
Do you get what I'm getting at?
Is trading him and announcing your
going in another
direction sooner? Like,
Yeah, we don't have a lot of D.
So the D that comes in is not probably going to be as good as the door of,
which in turn makes our team less good,
which allows us to be shittier longer.
Is that a benefit?
I think it kind of is, but they're already like the second worst team in the league.
They don't need a lot of help.
But I see what you're saying.
I mean, yeah, it's, you could accomplish a number of things.
I just, I come back to it.
Shit, I need at least.
the second i want to say i want i want to i want to feel good about this you yeah i don't care if you want to
leave or not but i'm building this team whether whatever you want to call it retool rebuild whatever i'm
getting younger and i'm getting faster in some way shape or form and unless i feel like the deal's good
i'm not doing it right now i've only worried about what's on with this franchise
so and honestly like oh he's going to be unhappy and miserable that's poison in the room it's
already a shitty room that's already just going to say doesn't
What are we worried about? Half these guys are gone in a year anyway.
Yeah, five or six of the guys have already requested trades out, even if it's not public knowledge, they kind of have.
Even back with the captain at one point, it said, yeah, I'm not sure.
Yeah. And you know what? If the room's shit, I'd be calling the guys that matter, the kids and coming in saying, listen, just have fun.
Just go in, you know what? We're going to play the shit out of you. Have a great time.
You know what? We're in Montreal tonight. Have ever played in the bell center?
Have a hot dog.
The hot dogs are fucking unbelievable.
Have a hot dog.
I can go for a dance.
Hey,
Zeri Pospos.
You're going to love it here.
They sing Oleole and shit.
It's unreal.
You've never seen anything like in your life.
Go have fun.
Don't worry about the other guys.
They're cranky old bastards.
You just worry about you.
We got you.
It's all that, man.
It is all that.
And honestly, like,
oh, Jesus.
It's,
Dean,
you've got coached over there by your phone.
I said something to Siri.
gonna love it here they single leo lea shit it's unreal you've never seen anything like it in your life
go have a hot dog don't worry about the crazy bastards not exactly Siri but thank you for listening
at least we have some one listener today does that count this doesn't you know if that's in the analytics
or not yeah damn it oh well i mean where are we yeah no i don't we can move on like that they're they're
fun the kids are fun like connor's airy how amazing is this bring more of these kids up and not all
going to hit, but like, shit, you got some time to figure it out and you're collecting as
many of these young players and picks as you can.
And from that group will be your next core.
This team does not have a core that can compete right now.
This team has what Dean has referred to it for a little past while as a group of players.
Collection of individuals.
Yeah, they're professional hockey players under contract to play 82 games.
Independent contractors.
Are we at all concerns?
I wish you to listen to the show yes, because it was quite brilliant.
We were really good.
Without you there, it was good.
I'm sure it has nothing.
Yeah, I'm sure it has nothing to do that you weren't there to.
We were really talking and you would have interrupted and not allowed us to get her thoughts out.
Yeah.
And for sure, you would argue with us.
But some of the points made, how the F does Conray trade six people and get good return for everyone?
What, how is it different than trading one guy getting a good return?
Walk me through your logic.
Well, it's a lot of work.
You're going to wait till the.
deadline and we're going to make all these deals
and we're going to end up in nirvana
because it just
I just
it's such an oddity
for maybe the whole
situation where you've got this
many guys that are supposed
your team's supposed to be better
but we're going to move
a whole bunch of them because they're unrestricted
and they're not coming back and the team's not doing well
and we're going to get how many
picks and how
do you know what I mean like we're going to maximize
every one of these assets?
That's a lot of work.
That's a job, right?
Yeah, it is.
Here's a concern that if you're waiting
until the trade deadline for this
big pot of gold that
you may be left at the altar.
Yeah, you can worry about it.
It's still the best time of year to do deals.
Like, if you want to worry about someone getting hurt,
you can worry about that.
If you want to worry about what is going flat for a guy
like Camilleri, you can, but over the course of time,
most of your best value deals are selling at the deadline.
But let's talk, let's, let me just
throw this out. Elias Lindholm,
deadline deal.
Okay. What? Let's just say there's an offer right now of
a third or whatever. I just think Tannaev and Zedorov,
there's a real ceiling as to what you're going to get, regardless
of the team. I don't think somebody's going to suddenly come in and be like, you know
what, we need this guy. We need Chris Tanev. Here's a first and a
process. I just think there's a ceiling on it where if you get a deal
in November, December,
you pull the trigger.
You just do the deal
and forego the deadline.
Because I don't think those are the,
because other teams are going to be missing the playoffs too.
And they will have compelling guys that are UFAs,
that maybe they're eating money on or regardless,
that then you're contending with those other teams
that are trying to sell on.
I get it.
The best deals are to be had because in theory,
there's a bidding war and more teams are desperate and all of that.
But I wouldn't be beholden to that strictly if I was Conroy.
If I get something today that I feel is a good deal, I'm just going to do it.
Totally.
I'm fair with that.
And I also think there's always that one or two deals that jump ahead of the market, right?
And set the market.
It's, you know, the flames at it to Foley way ahead of the deadline.
There's all, like a D man might move in January, not late February, March.
Like, you just need to get it to a point where you've got a good sense of what a guy's worth.
and it's like, yep, we're close enough that I can get this off my plate or there it is.
That's exactly what I want or more.
We do the deal.
But I mean, their job is to get good value for these guys.
No one said it was going to be easy.
And that's if you have to do four deadline deals, that might be tough, but that's your job, right?
Teams have done it before.
Selling teams have made four deals of the deadline, right?
All right.
So if we went through everyone that were they going to move, what is, what are we getting back?
Like, what are we talking about come the end of the season as far as the
I would hope.
I would hope you'd have an extra two first rounders if you got one for Lindholm and one for
Hanofin and then you collect as many seconds, thirds and young players as you can.
And a lot of that will be contingent on how guys are playing and where the market is.
Like, I think you, Lys Linholm has to look better than he's looked to get you a huge haul.
That was my next question.
And I heard you talking about Vlidar yesterday.
And it's like, yeah, he's played four games.
They've got points in three of them.
He hasn't played well.
If he goes on a two-week heater in January,
okay, now we can talk about trading this guy,
and you might get something.
But like right now, no.
So, you know, I think your point's a good one, Dean.
You know exactly what Chris Tanev is
and what Nita Zadorav is.
I think there's more questions around some of these other guys.
I think Hanifin's a well-established asset, too.
Like, you know he's a two-three in this league.
He's not going to run your power play,
but he can play 25 minutes.
He's a great skater and lots of tools.
Like, I think no one's confused about who Tanav, Zedorov,
Hannafin are. Those should be like pretty set. We think this guy's worth X.
But you can run into, we could really discuss this. And it's just a discussion, but like
Boob said, other teams are going to drop out. Teams that are close right now might not be,
the conversation isn't being had that they're going to sell guys. All of a sudden it becomes
clear that, geez, we're just not quite there. Now there's a whole other group of players.
Every year. And it's still the best time to make deals, though, right?
But every, you're not trying to move six guys every year.
And I keep using the word six.
I don't know if it's six, but it's, it's, it's four for sure, right?
It's four.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I wouldn't be more.
I think you're doing a disservice if it isn't.
Well, like four to be sure.
Four is, is just, yeah, probably more for sure, but it's four to be to be safe.
Like if you're really bad, you probably have to have that conversation with Jacob, Markstrom was got a no move.
Jacob, where are you at?
What do you want to do?
that's an awkward one to have because it's an acknowledgement that both sides have failed he came here on a six year deal to win he's got a no move he's made this his plan was to live in calgary for six years and have a good hockey team to play on but that probably has to happen if you're in 30th place in january doesn't it
it just it's such a fascinating story because yes when you say 30th then my head goes what if you want to what if you want to if you want to sell lindholm
for more, he's going to play better.
Well, if he fucking plays better,
is that eight more points for the team?
They're not looking very.
They still haven't played a lot of good teams.
You're also, it's like I said,
I said, yesterday I said,
when you're,
they aren't looking good,
but they're at zero starting point, right?
Like, this is as bad as it gets.
Is it not?
You're telling me that you think that this team's
capable of being worse?
Oh, for sure.
I mean, when you get rid of their number one center and two or three D, they'll be worse, right?
Yeah, but that's not my, I'm saying right now, this team's not good.
And you're, yeah, but there is bad as they're going to look too.
I mean, it doesn't look good.
You think they can look better for sure.
Yeah, if they play better, even marginally better.
It's the same thing.
It's the exact same commentary that we were having going into the year or lots of people
were where, well, just odds wise, they're not.
not going to be as shitty as last year. Well,
odds-wise, they're not going to play this poorly this year for all 82.
Yeah, as a points percent, I agree. But they're also like, the Oilers aren't going to be bad.
Like, they're the second worst team in the league in my mind right now, as weird as that might
sound. Like San Jose is so bad. It's, it's incredible how little talent there is there.
But like, I don't think this team's necessarily better than a Columbus or Pittsburgh or Chicago,
maybe Chicago, but like, I just think vibes are bad and you have no finish and you're still
not systematically strong enough defensively.
You give just way too many mistakes.
Like, how do you win games?
How is this team going to win games?
They're not winning them 5'4.
And your goalie's been your best player.
And he's still letting in one softie a night, even though he has been your best player and he has.
So, I mean, I'm just not worried about this group racing up to like 17th in the league.
you're ninth in the west. I don't see it. Maybe we're all wrong. But like, I think this is the
greatest thing to happen to the team because we talked about it all summer. The worst thing for Connie
would be ninth in the west of the deadline with all these expiring assets. And maybe you let some
guys walk or geez, you know, maybe we'll try to do the deal here and then take that asset and turn
that into something out. Like just be good or bad. That's essentially what you're saying, right, right?
is if you can make deals right now that on the surface,
these are good for our team.
We're getting younger and faster.
But at the same time,
are working against you finishing ninth.
Are more,
maybe it's a more solid guarantee that you're going to be near the bottom.
They might be there regardless.
But yes,
if it would be a,
it would be a spin-off for sure,
a nice little carrot.
If it does mean that you go down the standings a little bit.
because yeah, you'd hate to.
You would hate to be, okay, so your fifth from the bottom
and the team that's fourth wins the friggin draft lottery
or some bullshit like that.
You know what?
The hope, because I keep going back to it,
and I don't know why I get so obsessed with it,
but I just feel like, and I said it yesterday,
if we could convince the owner to eat salary,
I think that's where the best value, best return is.
I don't know why it would be an issue.
you to be honest. Like he's given them
$83 million to spend how they want on hockey, right?
They can spend it on hurt guys. Thanks, buds.
Maybe. I hope that's the case. I don't think that was
always the philosophy for the flames. But I think it would be
because I think that means that you could start moving guys down.
If you're willing to eat half the contract and they get the benefit of having
that player for the whole 60 games. Oh, you think about some of the things
you could do. Like let's say you eat $2 million on Markstrom and
selling three playoff runs of Jacob Markstrom at four million bucks.
Like, okay, there's a season.
The whole season.
Now you move out Hannafin and Lindholm, Zedorov and Tannav at some point.
And you can at that point be in, you can be a bank where Toronto needs cap space.
Okay, we're going to run this player through Calgary.
You get a third, eat half, now send it to Toronto.
Like you can start doing what Arizona's done, which is just absolutely a mass draft picks.
And, you know, a year ago, no one really thought it was going well in Arizona.
Look at all the picks.
look at all the speed, look at all the kids.
They are going to be really good.
That's what I keep going back to.
If you're going to do this, oh, it's a long process and it absolutely can be.
But if you're doing it, do it as quickly as possible.
Yeah.
Please, please, owners, eat that, become that bank that Pinder just said and maximize it.
You know what I mean?
Maximize what you can do with every dollar and every asset.
And it's not a very, it's not a great comparable, but you look at what's happening in Vancouver.
They trade Bo Horvatt.
They, they eat, they buy out Oliver Ekman Larson.
They went through all of this cap hell.
And it's like, I can't believe they're buying out this contract.
I can't believe they're doing this.
They won again last night.
And yes, they've got Elias Pedersen and Quinn Hughes.
They've got some first, like really good first round quality guys.
But part of that is making some tough decisions on veterans.
and making financial decisions that are really hard.
I don't know that they're winning the cup this year,
but they're on a hell of a run.
And I don't think anybody saw this happening.
They're on a heater.
It's not sustainable, but they're a good team.
They're not the best team in hockey, but they're a good team.
I think they're a playoff team, especially with, you know, Calgary not being good in the same division and such.
We'll see them on, what, Thursday.
That's right.
Speaking of, Thursday.
We're going to be at Greta.
Oh, baby.
Going to Greta.
We're going to get our Greta on Thursday.
We got football, which is a hell of a football game.
What is it this weekend, this or this Thursday?
We got like three sensational primetime games this week, which is like, yeah.
Bengals Bravens.
What?
Bengals Ravens.
Ah, Bengals, Ravens.
ASC North, baby.
There we go.
So you got some football.
And, of course, the flames are taken on the Vancouver Connect.
We're going to be at Greta over on 10th Avenue, 213, 10th Avenue, Southwest.
Greta bar.com, kind of our home away from home for afterburn.
I'm going to be doing the afterburner there.
We're going to be watching both games.
We want you to come down and hang with us.
We're going to be eating.
We're going to be having some drinks.
Going to be having a hell of a time.
You want to go play some arcade and stuff?
We'll allow it.
You want to play a mean pinball.
You can go do that.
But also,
the donkey in the straw hat
is going to make good on a bet
that he has,
it's been a long time.
Heaha.
It has been a long time.
Let's take a look for Greta
coming up on Thursday.
I mean, there's just,
No way that's going to happen.
Greta is coming through for us.
Casey and everybody at Greta, they heard about the nugget debt.
They said, listen, we're doing this at Greta. Let's go.
We need this.
It's a nugget eating contest with Pinder and Flames Nation.
There you see.
Eat for a cause.
Order plate after plate of street nuggets.
Eat as many as you can.
25 cents per nugget will be donated to the ALS Society of Canada in honor of Chris Snow.
So now we all got to eat, right?
Now we all got to have some nuggets on Thursday.
Very, very cool of Greta to come through for us and do that.
So that's going to be Thursday.
We're going to hang out.
We got, we'll do the show there, but we're going to watch the game.
Now, was that 42?
How many did we see on the tabletop there?
That was, I think, 42 and changed.
I think they came in tens and there was five plates of 10.
Those are not your, like I said, those aren't clown nuggets.
No, those are big.
They're hunks.
The street nuggets that they've got going there are substantial.
What's the over under retro if you were going to pick a number?
Because I don't, there's no chance it's 42.
What's the over under?
You're muted, I think.
You did.
Sorry, I was thinking I wanted to see the picture again, but 30.
I think 30 and then it's going to be.
Dedsville.
Now, can I, I feel like if you give me the full flames game,
I'm going to get all 42 down.
I might feel like Richard by the end,
but I've got two and a half hours if that's the case, no?
Time, sauce, beverages.
It's whatever you need it to be.
I'm not going to, you're not going to be.
You're right.
Who could get that done?
You can do it.
Oh, that's a lot of chicken.
Three, four, five.
Those are pieces of chicken.
Those aren't nuggets.
Look, look when you look down here.
They do a pan over the top.
Look at the size of some of these.
Like, look at that.
Yeah, that's true.
one of them looks like a whole breast 30 of those but I'm doing I'm doing 42 I'm doing
two plates for sure that's 20 the third I could jam in me oh boy that gets you to 30 yeah that's
he's got to eat another another baker's does almost to get because I mean you'd want to do more
than the 42 to be cocky right pender that would be your moves you don't I'm going to do 43
just to show you it depends on the time he can do it
For sure.
How much time are you going to do a lot?
Although, I'm sure that quality nugs, what's the nugget taste like if it's been out for a couple hours?
Where do you pre-order it?
You know what I mean?
Do you have them fresh?
We can bring them in waves.
Okay.
I think we have to.
We can bring them in waves so they're nice and warm and crisp and high.
Whatever we need to do.
Now, the good news, I think we're going to do a live stream of the game there for our good pals at Betway.
And so we will have a camera.
We'll be watching me.
There'll be three things happening.
The football game, the hockey game, and one man destroying his intestines.
We'll have a tripod and whether we'll set up one of the phones or whatever so that we have a separate feed of your table with the Nug Cam or whatever we'll call it.
The Nug can't a sauce you're going to go with.
I can't imagine hot, but hot is good.
There's a lot of different sauces.
and we're just going to see what lubricates the gullet the best.
It's going to come down to viscosity.
Now, what about because you're going to want to, if you're doing hot or whatever it is,
you're going to need to have some beverages.
I know you, you're going to be having some beers.
Yes, yes.
I'll be.
I'll be ubering down.
I don't know what, we need to talk to someone.
And it was like, do you want to starve yourself going in?
Do you want to have that stomach stretched out a bit already?
Like, I've sometimes not eaten for a long time.
times not smart. Your stomach will get small and then you feel full right away. I don't know what the
move is here. We need experts to chime in. What's going on in the comments? Someone's got to be a
competitive eater watching. Now, what do they say that your stomach is supposed to be about the
size of your fist? Oh, dear. No, please. Maybe a little bit longer. It'll stretch, obviously. Can you
hold 42 nuggets in your, in one hand? God, no. I can't hold 10 of those in one hand.
Oh, Greta.
We'll see you there.
Greta bar.com is the website.
2.13th Avenue Southwest and good on Greta.
It's going to be, they're going to be doing a little for the ALS Society, which is awesome.
Love seeing that.
Also want to mention, we'll get to the Pinda Report here shortly.
We haven't really talked a whole lot about this hockey game tonight.
I guess we can do that.
But we're going to Phoenix in January.
It's when you want to go.
Phoenix is great.
I love Phoenix.
You go any time of year, it's going to be great.
But we are going in January from the 11th to the 13th.

And I know what?
Bring your kid.
I mean, we're, we're a bunch of don't
don't feel like you can't bring your kid along.
We're all dads.
We know what it's like to bring a kid along.
It might be a nice father-son deal for you.
Whatever the case is, January, Phoenix,
gonna be hard to beat.
Nationgear.com, book your spot.
They are rolling.
People are kind of starting to say,
we're dumb guys.
We procrastinate.
We don't get in front of things.
But as November becomes late November, December,
Let's go.
These are going to be going.
And it's a presentation.
You can see it there from our friends at Alberta Blue Cross.
They have come on board and thank you for coming on board.

Did we lose our boy?
Yeah, I don't know.
It's a lot of walking sticks.
Let's do the Pinder report, shall we?
Let's do it.
The All Pinder report with Pinder.
Brought to you by Village Honda.
Been mentioning it since last week.
Right now until the end of the month, November 30th,
Village Honda has their Veterans Food Drive.
Village invites you to stop by the deal.
ship, non-perishable food items, fill that Honda Ridge line sitting in the showroom,
and then they will deliver it at the end of the month to the Veterans Food Bank of Calgary.
Doing good things.
That's what they do up at Village.
Village Honda, your dealership for life in the Northwest Automall.
Village Honda presents the Pindor Report.
Awesome news this morning, Dino, as everyone's favorite goaltending prospect is being returned
to the HL Wranglers or down the hall to the heat, as one man in Buffalo would say.
Yeah.
I don't know what better today.
Your view was on at the time, but it felt like, okay,
if there's an excuse to get him up with the big club and Markstrom's maybe not 100,
go ahead and use that.
I don't think this was the recall to end all recalls,
and there's your goalie forever.
And there he is today.
So I know some people will be disappointed that he's down,
but I think this was about getting him a taste, and he got a taste.
Some more tickets have you sold everyone else and kept wolf for the kids.
Don't disagree.
I like them.
We talked a little bit about it yesterday.
I know four goals went in, but there were some defensive lapses there to be sure.
I just, I like watching a play.
He's, you can see why he's so good.
He's, his movement is, is awesome.
So yeah, get him in.
Get him in.
Mark, I'm going to start in Montreal tonight.
He's feeling better from whatever that minor upper body ailment was.
Maybe it was just an excuse to get the Wolfman out out in up with the big club.
We'll see.
It's Markstrom against the haps.
Okay.
Very good.
Look how happy Julian is in his photo there.
He is happy.
Julian's so excited.
A lot of teeth.
He loves Jacob Markstrom.
He's so excited.
I think he's his agents or something.
Jesus.
Here's a look at standings.
Well, I mean, for our show, the standings, not the real standings, you know.
They're right.
They're not bad, boys.
And at the end, they're not going to stay there.
I know it's been fun.
That's not going to last.
They allowed a goal in the first 40 seconds last night, and that was it.
They're going to move because, well, they still have two of the best five players on earth,
the first one and another one somewhere in the top five.
And they've had horseshit goaltending that can't stay that bad,
and horseshit finishing that can't stay that bad.
That team's going to be flying.
And this is where I'm kind of out on, like, which of those teams are you for sure better than?
Like San Jose?
When is the last time the flames would have finished second to last?
They've never. The highest they've ever picked was fourth. It was Bennett. Like that's the highest they've ever selected in the NHL draft in Cowdery.
So we are potentially watching a historically bad hockey team.
And historically bad hockey teams get historically good players theoretically in the top of the draft. Go get it, boys. You need a franchise player. You don't have any. You have none. You have zero franchise players.
I wish I was hearing more about the kids this year because there's not as much braggy as.
Maclin Celebrina or whatever.
A mega stud.
I think he's playing college at 17,
Rhett.
Like, it's wild what he's doing.
And he's well over a point per game for BU.
But it's even bad draft classes of studs in the top five most years.
We'll see.
I don't think this is a bad draft class at all.
Here's look at the HABs.
They've been bad, but not quite bad enough in terms of their last five years.
They do have some good young players.
Look at the top line.
There's one in Nick Suzuki.
The second line, there's goal Caulfield.
And also in the second line,
case of maybe when things don't go right at the top of the draft.
Uriislawkowski is yet to make himself into an impactful NHLer, but it's still early.
We'll see.
Oh, and by the way, there's Sean Monaghan third line.
He's off to a good start.
He's healthy.
Sean Monaghan and Nick Suzuki lead the habs in goals.
Each of them have six.
Monaghan, 13 points in 15 games.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
And they'll be able to move them at the deadline if they'd like to.
Slavkoski.
Who else was in the day?
that draft like who should
Shane Wright and the real guy you wanted
was Logan Cooley it looks like. He went to
Phoenix. Yeah.
There's their
decor. I mean
geez
that top four, I don't know.
There's some guys.
Some points which is kind of odd
this year. Big cat.
Big cat. Big cat. Sure.
Yeah. You put the big cat in Arbor
you put Wi-Fi and the big
together to look out.
Twin Towers.
Either way.
That's the other team.
Schedule looks like this for the Flames fellas.
They wrap the road trip tonight. They're home for a pair.
Vancouver Thursday.
The island 5 o'clock start on Saturday.
And then they're back out on the road for a four-gamer.
Seattle, Dallas, Nashville, and Colorado in there.
A lot of road games.
A lot of road games.
Anyway, we'll move.
Last night, NHL, Paul Coffee, flexing.
And when you can flex, why wouldn't you flex?
This is the new assistant coach of the Edmonton Oilers.
Check the jewelry.
Oh, yeah, that's just my Stanley Cupring.
Don't mind me, guys.
Love it.
Love it.
Well, which one is it?
He's got a few.
Well, that is the thing.
Yeah, I mean, the real move would just get a fistful of jewels, wouldn't it?
Yeah.
Be like, fellas, you want to work hard?
You can have one of these two.
No, actually, sorry, guys.
This is from Pittsburgh.
This is from the cup.
Oh, that's not an oiler one?
No, no, no.
See, that's, well, which oil.
I can see why you've been confused.
Man, crazy.
NFL last night, I don't know how we've gone this long rat without it.
What?
So your two favorite teams in all of American football have done this to you now.
The, the gray cup was lost on one too many men in the huddle.
And now last night, a regular season game, the bill's no good in a lot of ways, still should have won it.
and yet too many men on the field.
What a disaster.
I'll look for comments for me.
This is a shit show.
It is a shit show.
What was my bold statement?
They will be,
the bills will draft a quarterback in the first round.
We give you the point.
So can you,
uh,
I mean,
because you look around the league and how many teams would kill to have a
quarterback Josh Allen.
His numbers are still good,
but it's horseshit.
Turnovers.
No one has thrown more interceptions than this guy.
It's kind of a good spot to be in, right?
Because you could trade him for a haul.
It's not like he's moving Danny Dimes here, right?
It's contracts manageable too.
Or just can you, can you teach him to?
That's a tough thing.
You know, talk about a tough sell to Flames fans.
Try and sell getting rid of Josh Allen to Bill's fans.
He's on the big Z plan.
He needs a little gravy, doesn't he, D?
He needs a little bit of turkey and gravy, just settled.
Just calm down.
Honestly, I think he's been pissed off the dable left,
and I don't think he ever liked this offensive coordinator that they just shit-kanned.
And then again, you'll find out soon enough with his play and what happens next.
But I think those guys, that offense didn't,
they'd won really good game against Miami this year.
And since the halfway mark of last year, they've been average,
if not ho-hum.
And it's hard to say that
because if you look at it statistically,
they're quite good,
but effectively they don't get anything done.
They turn over the ball.
It's the worst thing to do in football.
You turn over the ball.
You lose that turnover ratio.
It's the most telling stat.
There's nothing else that's more correlated
with winning and losing
than the turnover ratio.
They've been bad at that.
Last night, they did it right away, right?
Like, suck the energy out of the building
out of your sideline.
First carry, Christ, we've turned it up.
Because you know, what would they be saying?
Guys, we've got to protect the football.
Protect the football.
Josh, let's just play.
Fumble.
And there was one that came back.
Alex Singleton picked one and he was just out of bounds and there's a penalty on the play.
But that was almost another turnover.
And they already had a shit ton of them on the game.
Here's what Ken Dorsey will be remembered for, Rhett.
I don't know if you remember this one.
Yeah.
Yeah, the spas and the, yeah.
Just going to get my stuff here.
And that's him leaving the office today.
day too just different window it's amazing how many epic losses this team in the last well yeah
it's it's a tradition of it for Minnesota just go three years well I was going to case go back to
Casey when they should have went to fuck jack if you go in uh I don't know if you can do it jack but
i have one in my folder um is that is that something you can do on the on on the rush here or do you
need a minute to grab it.
I got your stuff from this morning, so I think I got it.
Yeah.
So the, the bills, you mentioned, it was actually a year ago to the day.
I don't know if you remember.
So last night, horrendous loss, bills in a position to win the football game.
Broncos missed the kick.
This was one year ago.
I left.
First down and Cook's got room.
Delvin Cook takes off.
down the sideline there he goes the big play they desperately needed fourth and two keeps it alive
josh allen into the end zone and it's picked by peterson
like you feeling in motion here's ham the fullback touchdown vikings
her cousin's back to throw on fourth and eighteen he's given time
Watch Jefferson claims the ladder.
Oh, my goodness.
Justin Jefferson.
Pousins to sneak it.
Can he break the plane?
Is he in?
No signal yet.
Zero breathing room.
He tries to sneak it.
The ball is loose.
Impossible.
Oh, my God.
Do the Vikings have it?
It is a tough last breath.
And he has.
All right, tied it up.
Tied it up.
Tied at 30 with two seconds left.
Vikings take the lead.
Second and 10.
Alan steps up and throws.
In interception, Patrick Peterson.
And in this heavyweight bout, the Vikings with the knockout blow.
Oh, man.
I left that game when it was 27 to 10.
17 points late is a significant gap red.
You were not crazy to think that was over.
But it's the bills.
Right?
You had that lead for starters.
And then fourth and 18.
Just don't stop them on the goal line.
Then stop them on the goal line.
Or just move it a yard.
Don't turn it over at the goal line.
If that happened in a movie, you'd be, you'd walk out.
This is too far fetched.
I mean, what are we talking about here?
This is stupid.
Yeah.
So that was one year ago to the day.
And that's cool that it's one year ago to the day,
but you think back to Kansas City in the playoffs.
Miami that year, last year.
That game, this game.
And I guarantee you this.
Jets on opening night.
There's three or four other ones that aren't in the top of my head.
It's,
it's epic how many massive failures they've had.
Hey, Rhett.
This is what drives you nuts because they're good.
Come on.
Come on over to the Bears.
Come on.
Oh, geez.
Take me.
Bring me.
Come to my bosom.
We'll take you in, buddy.
You know who is thinking about leaving the bills?
Oh, geez.
There's Trayvon Diggs, the brother of Stefan.
Oh, boy.
Not the best.
Not the best.
Pat Mahomes was on the Manning cast last night.
He knows a thing or two.
Let's, I mean, he's probably just talking out of his ass a bit,
but let's see what he sees happening here.
Moncos are going to score and how are they going to score run past who they throw into what do you like
we're going to run it twice and then a hard play action on third and short that's going to get a touchdown
love this wow love that thinking it was a run last time it was a run last time yeah good run
wow there's a second one there's a second run I'm pretty sure they hit that against us but
it's all right oh oh the double spin throw it up
He's in! He's in! He's in! He's in or no!
Oh!
That's a touchdown.
That's a touchdown.
Wow!
The runner completed the pass.
Touchdown.
There we go.
Look it.
Mahomes called it.
I don't recall anybody else predicting run run pass combos.
Perfect right above Kimmel and Des.
That's pretty good. That's pretty good.
I have the clip of how that game ended.
And again, I'm putting Jack on the spot.
spot. If you can slide it in here.
Because
Kyle Brandt, who
works on the NFL network,
remember I showed the clip, he's a
Buffalo guy, loves the bills.
He was at the NFL draft that year
and he already had the chicken wing in his pocket
and was ripping everybody.
He was the guest on the
Manning cast last night.
The thing came down to the wire.
And so you've got Peyton at the
top of the screen who is cheering for the
Broncos. You've got Brandt in
the middle who's cheering for the bills and then Eli who's just in awe so again this is basically
last play of the game broncos to kick a winning field ready snap kick missed it oh my goodness
there's a flag what's how to Kyle is right there's a flag in the end zone in the end zone
12 men on defense oh my goodness
Oh my goodness.
And Brand knows.
He misses again.
He's like this is going to.
Yeah, yeah, right down the middle.
Oh, my goodness.
What a way to lose a game.
Like that.
Oh, my goodness.
How does that happen?
Why?
Why?
Why?
Yeah, that's why.
He cursed it, boys.
Oh, my God.
Oh, boy.
Sorry, Roche.
Josh wasn't on the field as the 14th.
No, what's more painful?
A Flames team that's just bad and hard to watch?
Or a Bill's team that has a lot of talent and rips your heart out with devastating losses?
The bills for sure.
For sure.
Yeah, that's okay.
That would hurt more.
You're right.
Yep.
Steelers fan 101 wants to look at the AFC standing.
So, all right, Jack, fine.
Can we ask?
you a question, Ryan, because there was a bit of an argument yesterday, Dean.
You know what I'm alluding to.
Right?
Yeah, Fireway.
Leave those up, but yeah.
Well, it has to do with Jack Attack.
And Jack Attack, correct me if I'm wrong, absolutely abandoned his Steelers team earlier this year.
Oh, he's floppy, big time.
But he says he's never wavered.
If we think that for one moment, he doubted the Steelers.
and he was that we are crazy.
Well, so here's what I see.
I don't, Red said I've abandoned them.
That's not true.
What I see is a guy that he wants them to win.
He loves them.
He cheers for them.
He also calls for Matt Canada's head and then a day later says,
oh, let Matt Canada cook.
Look at him go.
And I, I think some of it's kind of tugging cheek.
He's a huge Steelers guy.
I don't know if he thinks this team's good or not.
I really don't.
You wanted Canada.
Gone.
And then he still does.
Then he's on the sidelines for two games.
No,
you know what?
It's just fine,
actually.
He just needed to be on the sidelines now.
So it's all good.
It's okay.
You're an irrational sports fan.
I don't think they're very good.
I don't know how the hell they're six and three.
It's luck.
It's Tomlin.
It certainly isn't fucking Matt Canada.
Fongom.
Some heat from the jack cam.
We do need the jack cam.
We got to get that.
Yeah, we do.
I do.
All right.
Sorry, Ryan, go ahead.
No, I mean, I don't know.
The Steeler fan, what do you got to say here?
Like, it is wild that Buffalo is way out of the playoff pitcher and Pittsburgh's in there.
But it is 10 weeks of a 17-week season.
So we'll see.
You know what else I'm pissed off with you about Pinder now that we're talking about it?
Yeah.
How's that Jets game?
They got them again this week.
Game one.
It's nothing, not a big.
You don't overreact it.
And they reeled off four wins after another.
Shit the bed since.
This team's a rollercoast.
This team is Nikita Zedorov.
Red does have a good memory for some things, right?
There's some things that just kind of.
Well, I mean, look, if you're a Bills fan, you hate this team after week one,
you love this team after week five.
You hate them today.
Like, I don't know how this ends, but it's not like they don't have enough talent to do something still.
But God, they make it tough, don't they?
Third hardest stretch the schedule.
third toughest strength of schedule coming up.
You know what feels different though?
It feels like in past years when losses happened,
it was like, well, how did they,
they should not have lost or all that.
Then they start winning.
It's like, all right, here they are.
Yeah.
This year it doesn't feel that way.
It feels like you're putting more stock in the losses than you are in the
wins.
Does that make sense?
Is that accurate?
Pardon my language again, but they're five and five.
Not like,
weren't they four and one at one point?
Huh?
Weren't they four and one?
I believe so.
Like, that's gross, yeah.
They won a couple games.
Again, I'm telling you,
the only game they've played really well was against Miami.
They crushed them, and I don't know if Miami's that good.
Miami hasn't beat a team over 500.
That's the crazy stat with them.
They've had a soft schedule.
Last night to the Bronco.
Jacksonville.
Jacksonville?
Yeah.
What?
I mean, you lose to Cincinnati.
That's one thing.
New England?
New England and New England.
Yeh.
Yeh.
All right.
The week 10 vibes, no, bueno.
Let's move out of football and into tall humans that play basketball.
Quebec, Canada, you the North, get excited.
Here is 7 foot 7 high schooler from Quebec.
What?
What?
I like that.
This was him.
12 years old. He's 7 foot 7 fellas. He's going to play for the Florida gators.
So he can basically just touch the rim while standing. Yeah. Yes. Now there have been
tall humans before. It doesn't mean he's going to be a star, but like he's ours. He's our tall
human. We don't need a pipeline. He can just hand it from Western Canada to Quebec. Look at the size
of this guy. How tall was the first overall pick last year? Seven foot four, the Wemben,
Mianama.
Like this is crazy.
Yeah.
Now there's been like...
What sport would you like to play?
No, I don't think wrestling's it, son.
No, we don't have...
There's no badminton, sorry.
You're going to love basketball, though, son.
Yeah.
Crazy.
Crazy.
You know, it's nice to shine a light on amateur athletics and some of the lesser known.
Rhett, I know you like, you know, you work with kids in the Buffalo
in Calgary.
So anytime we can talk amateur athletics, it's really,
really, really, I just feel better about the show.
Let's go to some sort of collegiate coach and see what's going on.
This is Jimbo Fisher, who they can't pay the athletes, right?
It's amateur athletics.
$76 million to not go to work.
The NCAA is still telling us they can't pay the players.
And your name's Jimbo.
And it's freaking awesome.
This is the king of paid leave right here.
We talk about getting some of that good paid leave.
Like, this is nobody's doing a.
better than Jimbo Fisher.
Like Darrell make an eight for the next two years to cackle up the flames on the ranch.
That's one thing.
$76 million.
Holy shit.
Have you guys seen the Johnny Mansell doc on Netflix?
I've heard it's awesome.
It's really good.
And it's Texas A&M, as it turns out.
He's getting in trouble for signing autographs.
Meanwhile, they're building, basically building a new stadium.
Yeah.
Because how good the team has done.
under his quarterback play.
It's wild how they can actually sell that argument in the state.
Amateurs.
What are you talking about?
What are you talking about?
And still charge.
So corrupt.
They can charge,
they won't have to charge anyone to go to school with the money in sports.
They don't have to charge anyone to go to school.
They're getting paid for by the government or they were.
I don't know what happened with that.
But they don't have to charge anyone anyway because they make enough
freaking money off of athletics, pay for everyone's school.
And they'd still have boatloads and boatloads and boltloads of millions.
I just wonder who the next best candidate was that wouldn't come do that job for 76 million.
Jimbo, I mean, it's good.
But what a joke.
What a joke.
And imagine, because I just last thought, because I read about this on the weekend,
that they had been mulling over, making this, this firing for, for a while, right?
Yeah.
That someone sat in a boardroom at a university or college and said,
you know,
it's going to cost $76 million to let him out of this deal.
You know what?
We need to win football games.
It'll be worth it.
Right?
Like some administrators said, we'll get, yes,
we have to win football games.
And this guy isn't going to do it.
And it's not like his record was atrocious.
It's not like they were one and a hundred.
like it's
I it's it's it feels so corrupt like you say that you wonder how do they get it how do you get away with it
it's not they don't even that's it's they don't even hide it the corruption is just
right in your right in front you how do you like it hey send your kids to texas an m 50 grand
a year what's it's take terrible what's it like red it's right and right yeah there like
that last couple for you uh we'll start with this got to be uh
at Ray Razor's place because it's an above ground pool and you and Rob are up to your antics again.
It's a nice diving for it.
I thought it was going to be worse.
That's pretty bad.
You know how it would get worse if his leg got caught in that thing as it went down?
Well, that's, yeah.
And pop the pool.
Oh.
At least caught at the edge of the pool.
Well, and it's a soft pool.
Imagine if that's a hard pool.
Good night, sweet prince.
God, the thing is getting hurt out there on the internet.
I thought I'd be running out of this shit.
It's more than ever.
We've got a new room, almost tradition in the Warner household.
Every night before bedtime, we watch 10 minutes of epic fails or whatever the hell that's called.
We just wipe, like, we love it.
Nice giggle before bed.
Yeah.
It's great.
Makes us feel better about ourselves.
I like it.
And we'll close the Pinder Report, not with that, but with the most terrifying animal on the planet as we've come to learn this year, the kangaroo.
Jesus.
Is he frothing at the both too?
He's just standing there trying to pick a fight.
Doesn't like what he's seen.
Smart too.
Oh man,
that glass better not break.
Telling you.
So this is,
for those that aren't watching,
it's a kangaroo standing at a plate class window.
Somebody's in their house,
and this frigging kangaroo is like knocking and clawing at the glass
and then chest bumping himself into the panace glass.
He wants a piece.
He wants a piece.
He does.
He wants a piece.
Oh, man.
Just gut you like a fish.
Now, if that's Ozzy Brad's place, I'm a little less worried, but any other mere mortals, trouble.
Trouble.
Trouble.
Let Trigger out the door, and he's going to run.
You get a bat.
You get those tasers and trigger.
You need all three to get this guy down.
Oh, no thanks.
That's your Pender Report.
There's no show that has more kangaroo.
content on the internet than us.
Kings of kangaroo.
I just don't think there's any other sports show that has this much kangaroo content.
Village Honda proud sponsors of the Pinder Report.
And kangaroo.
Used vehicles.
70 units on site, access to more than 400 more inside the dealership group.
You go to Village Honda, they'll set you up one-stop automotive destination.
That's why they call it that.
Part of that dealership group, they're going to find whatever it is that you need.
and take care of you.
Located in the Northwest Auto Mall,
your dealership for life, it's Village Honda.
Now, we had heard that this was happening,
and I guess we finally now have some visual evidence.
We've been telling you for about a year,
one of the OGs on the show,
outdoor dental, Dr. Jay Patel, came on board.
He says, yeah, we have the dental office,
but we have the Soleil Laser.
And what that does, no needles, no drills,
It makes the dental work a completely different process.
It's so much easier.
It's faster.
It's less intrusive.
It's great.
But what it also does is it can help people who snore.
The soft palate in the back of your throat, it tightens that soft palate.
It just takes a couple of sessions and your snoring could be gone.
Sounds fantastic.
But I mean, he's just a doctor.
Who are we to believe Dr. J. Patel?
We need to see it for ourselves.
And Pinder, the skeptic.
that he is said, you know what?
I don't put this to the test.
Yeah, I'll be the judge.
Prove it, Dr. Jay.
Pinder visited one of the outdoor dental offices to check his apnea out with Dr. Jay.
Oh, hey guys, it's Pinder.
I'm at outdoor dental.
I've got a few strikes against me.
I'm hairy.
I'm stinky, but we're going to work on the third strike.
I snore, as many of us do, us guys, we're snores, especially maybe if we've had a drink or two.
So we're going to see Dr. Jay today at outdoor dental.
We've been talking about Dr. Jay, but talking is one thing.
Putting your money where your mouth is is another.
So we're heading into outdoor dental today to see Dr. Jay.
We're at the Seton Professional Center right across from the South Health Campus.
And we've got the purple pooch here trying to get the bone.
We're trying to get the snoring out so my wife can sleep better.
Let's go. Let's go.
This is the legendary Dr. Jay.
Nice to meet you. Yeah, in person.
We talk about Dr. Jay every day.
He actually exists, not a mythical creature.
This right here is the Salaia laser machine.
We talked about the snoring treatment that you do.
I'm in today to put my money where my mouth is.
And because my wife, she does a birthday coming up.
So I'm in the real benefactor.
If we can lessen my snoring.
How does it work?
Yeah, it's a great little tool here.
We use a laser to help heat your soft palate
and that creates a little bit of tension by shrinking the palate.
And that's what's going to help reduce your snoring.
So instead of that, it's a little harder to flap because it's a little thicker.
Exactly.
It's going to be a little tighter.
flap as much which is great it's totally painless which is the other nice thing
and no restrictions afterwards you just carry with your day now Dean keeps asking
about this which is weird but is any way it would make me talk less or no we can
always try okay well I don't like this out yeah no is that in the waiver or what did I
yeah yeah no there's no side effects of it there's no like contradictions everybody can do it
the only I guess maybe restriction is we need access to your soft palette yeah so we do
do a couple things to help you know with gag reflexes and things like that to get
open wine. Yeah, open wine stuff, but it's anybody can do it, it'll be over 18, I should say.
Sure. And yeah, no side effects at all. Yeah, you carry out like normal. And your wife must love
you so much more. Could she love me more? You don't? I mean, who snows more? I don't know.
Yeah, it's me in a landslide. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, I'm excited to get her going. Okay,
let's get started. You got the cool shades? Yeah, there you go. Okay, so we have the laser here,
but more importantly, we have the TV up here. That's right. Now, I've had a few nights at the bar where I wish the TV
because you guys are on the ceiling.
This is amazing.
Okay, so we got that treatment done for you.
It went really well.
I was able to get the full coverage of your whole soft palate.
Nice.
It does take up to three weeks to get the full effect of it.
And we'll just see how it goes over the next couple weeks.
How do you make these lasers work?
That's crazy.
No, that's pretty cool.
Well, thank you.
Even cooler, it does filling, too, without any anesthetic.
I've heard that.
Yeah.
You can do a filling, no freezing, in and out, carry on with, you know, your meeting or whatever.
you know, your meeting or whatever, lunch meeting after that.
I love it.
Great.
Not just some words on some weird guys podcast.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Real things.
I love me you.
Every day.
Yeah.
Great.
Thanks, Dr.J.
All right.
Yeah.
No problem.
There you go.
See?
We're not full of it.
We've been telling you about this thing.
It's legit.
It's for real.
And so you did both because it was 250.
I've done both treatments.
And he was saying after the second treatment,
give it a couple weeks.
And I literally two days ago,
I was like, babe.
Am I snoring as much?
And she's like, you haven't me woken me up with snoring for, I can't really.
It's been over a week.
And I'm like, oh, here we go.
Well, happy birthday.
That's what I said.
Happy birthday.
And I mean, Dr. Jay, right?
He's beauty.
Yeah.
Good guy.
And if you have a pretty typical dental plan, it will cover most of this procedure as well.
That was another thing I learned that wasn't in the video.
They wouldn't let me keep the shades.
That was the only real sticking point.
I really like those because they look cool as hell, right?
People in the chat were wondering if we could use the laser to tighten up other areas of the anatomy,
you know, things that might be sagging or drooping if it might.
Dr. J would be definitely the guy to answer those questions.
Go in and, yeah.
Well, go out.
Maybe it's on the website.
I don't know.
Outdoor.dental is the website.
Check that out, Dr. J. Patel.
And obviously, there's the dental practice and the laser and all that.
It does amazing things for just the straight up dental practice.
but the snoring as well.
Very good reason to go and check things out,
outdoor. Dental, Dr. J.
At a boy.
Big shout out also to Tan Man and RJ
for helping out on that.
Very nice.
Yeah.
You do look hairy.
It's nasty hairy.
Yeah.
That could have been trimmed before I went in public.
Yeah, it's a lot of hair.
Let's take a look at our Betway bets.
Now, we go back to last week.
We do our point spread picks.
We throw them out on Friday.
Now we had someone taking part in the Monday nighter.
So we had to hold off until Tuesday.
I think I pulled that pick.
Get the Betway app in your phone and play along.
Oh, it's too late.
The game started.
No, no, there's in-game stuff.
Trust me.
Get the app in your phone.
Bet the responsible way with our buddies at Betway,
the official partner of us here at Barnburner.
There's the retro picks.
On the Steelers, minus three and a half.
never a doubt.
I said to you at the end
that you took Dallas
without knowing what the line was.
You just took Dallas and then you saw,
ooh, minus 17.
That's a lot.
And I had said to you,
that'll probably be the easiest one of the week.
It'll be 21 nothing at the end of the half or something.
And I think it was exactly 21 nothing at the end of the half
and you never sweat that one for a second.
Crushed a DAC attack.
The,
um,
the bills,
however,
did not cover.
And I do think I argued that pick.
think I said I'd like to change it and you didn't let me.
Well, I think basically you used to get mad at people for picking Monday.
I know.
That's why I said, I won't pick it.
I said, Monday's no good.
We can't have that.
So I'll change it.
And then you wouldn't let me.
Jack kind of said once it's on the board, it's on the board.
So.
And Jack is a tyrant.
It's mad.
He starts kicking things and knocking shit.
I just don't want any part of it.
So all in all, a two for three week, no shame in that.
15 and 12.
You continue.
to set the pace on the, on the barn burner.
Now look at Pinder.
You kind of started to go against your gut.
You figured out where, what are the lines that I like?
And I'm going to go completely opposite.
And you are on an absolute heater.
3-0.
Indies, San Fran, and Tampa.
I definitely liked, you know, New England getting points.
San Fran had lost three in a row and Tennessee.
That young quarterback, I like him getting.
a point. So I went against all those and proving how much of an idiot I am, perfect week.
Good for you. Up to 11 and 16. So effective. What a run. What a charge. Yeah. What a run. What was my
overall. I missed that. Where are we at now? 11 and 16. Oh, baby. I passed Jack. Holy
Oh, nine and four at one pool. That's four and 14. Yeah. Jack goes two for three. Green Bay at
Pittsburgh. He goes with his Steelers. He's never doubted them for a second. His never
Faith never wavering.
Minus three and a half.
Tennessee, Tampa Bay had the Titans.
And no go there.
Minnesota, getting points.
Josh Dobbs helps out, Jacks.
So two for three, 10 and 17 after two and three week.
Outta boy, Jack.
And it's a two and three for me as well.
I was on the Steelers.
I was on Tampa.
And yeah, I thought Arizona coming in.
Hey, Kyler Murray, whooped you do.
Well, it was whoop to do.
All right.
So two for three, I'm up to 13 of just try and scratch.
Get there, buddy.
Get back to 500.
So, um, we actually would have made you some money this week.
That's actually impressive.
All in.
We would have, we would have, we would have, don't, don't worry about our records over over the year.
It's not really about that.
It's how did we do?
What have you done for me lately, Janet Jackson, right?
Look at that.
Three and all.
Two and one, two and one, two and one.
it's what you do, buddies.
That's how you do it.
The Betway bets, our point spread picks.
No good when no one's upset.
Everybody's kind of happy with the week.
I think Jack, I mean, Jack's always angry.
He's just sitting there seething, just bubbling all that.
Yeah, I'm pissed at Will Levis.
All week, I was told he was good, and then he sucked.
Yeah, Bill Levin is no good.
Try starting him into your fantasy pool instead of dogs.
see how that works out for you.
I did in one league.
Ouch.
While we're loving on people,
I said this the other day,
our buddy Rhodesy with the hearing loss clinic.
Rhodesy went down to,
he's very fancy,
eh?
The old trout.
Hey,
what's going on this weekend?
I was like,
oh,
you know,
maybe he's going to put the winter tires on
or clean out the gutters or something.
Oh,
I'm going to Malibu.
Oh.
He's going to go down to Malibu.
He sent me a picture and I said,
it's the fucking Catalina wine mixer.
It was exactly the Catalina wine mixer.
Like outdoors, everyone in their fancy clothes.
So yeah, he's, you know, he's pretty fancy guy, pretty fancy guy.
But yeah, the hearing loss clinic, we've been telling you about their four locations in Calgary,
soon to be five.
They got five locations in BC.
They're award winners in all of this.
And it's no BS.
They've done it again.
The 2020,
Chamber of Commerce Professional Services Excellence Award winners.
Congratulations to everybody.
with the hearing loss clinic. He's got great people, great staff, and they are the very best at what they do.
Men and women of all ages, children, get, and I'm telling you, because I kind of thought,
maybe I bet, then you get in there and you realize how much you're missing in terms of your hearing.
Why would you wait? Hearingloss.c.a. book yourself for an assessment goal and go with the best.
I mean, you could go to some guy in a gas station that's like selling sunglasses,
and gum and hearing aids,
you could go to that guy, I guess.
I wouldn't.
I would go to the hearing loss clinic.
Hearingloss.ca is their website.
So tonight it's the Habs,
I guess just to kind of double back
on this game for tonight.
Montreal is seven, six, and two.
And I got looking this morning,
they have one regulation win in their last 13 games.
Geez.
Of their seven,
wins, only two have come in regulation.
They've got four overtime wins and a shootout win.
And they've gotten some points obviously with the two shootout losses.
So they, uh, extra time has been good to them.
Uh, we'll see flames would love to get the extra time, wouldn't they tonight?
You got a point in Toronto.
You didn't get one.
Kind of need a win, eh?
It is weird.
It depends what we're doing.
Yeah.
I mean, I think Brian Husko wants a win.
I wonder if we gave Connie the truth to him what he'd want.
Yeah.
Play well, guys, I'm trading.
Yeah.
It'll be Markstrom and net.
I think we kind of covered that already.
Wolf goes back to the American Hockey League, Markstrom.
Just a slight, just a slight injury.
Just a little tweak, a little tickle kind of a thing.
So he's back in tonight.
And we talked about it yesterday.
There are some new line combos that were trotted out in practice yesterday.
Rozichka to the top, again, if you want to call it top.
Rizchka to the Lindholm line.
So Rizchekka on the left side with Lindholm and Mandrapani.
the cadre zari pospsoil line stays together and jonathan huberdow slides in on the left side with backland and coleman so
well and charing govich was on that zary line for a while too right so that's a bit of a tweak there he's
not on the fourth line side yeah so pospousal moves up if you want to call it that but and dour gets
back in he hasn't been playing the last little stretch but uh we've seen a lot of line call and i'm not criticized
maybe we all be doing the same, but we have sure seen Huska and the guys throwing a lot at the wall to see if it's going to stick.
Yeah, and I don't blame them.
It's not like there's been so many amazing things like why are you running away from it.
It's working so well.
No.
I mean, I'd love to see Sharon Govich stay with Kadri and Zeri.
Manjipani Bakl and Coleman are good together, but you almost need Manjapani elsewhere.
It just looks to me like you got four third lines, doesn't it?
Yep.
That's not good.
And that's why you're rebuilding, whether you've acknowledged it or.
or not yet, Flames.
No, we can acknowledge it for you.
Like, does that look like three third lines?
Four three, third lines.
Yeah, okay.
I don't disagree with you.
But why did this not look like four, three, fourth, whatever you said, I guess.
Yeah.
Six weeks ago before the season started.
Why did we all believe that this was not going to be the case?
Well, we didn't know what Sharon Govich was.
And we had hopes of a better, Huberd
And, you know, I still think Peltje's a nice piece.
I don't think he's a, you know, boy, he's the difference here.
But there's, there's been some things that haven't gone right, to be fair, right?
You had Coronado in this mix as well, not that that's a game change.
But yeah, when you came into the season, and I know you, you of anybody would have been skeptical,
but there will be some people that say the mood is different.
Everyone's excited to get there.
The black cloud is gone.
Let's see how they respond to a new coach and a new positive atmosphere.
And the answer has been not a lot.
And I've kind of liked Sharon Govich the last two weeks too.
It's a shame to see him down there because, you know, again, if we don't know much about this guy.
And I don't know that the league knew much about this guy.
He did wildly varying results in his three seasons in New Jersey.
He's the principal piece of a trade for Tofoli.
Like no one at the time of that trade is like, oh, yeah, he'll just play on the fourth line.
And he can be better than that.
He has been.
And it's just more about spreading it around than it is about stockpiling right now.
And it's also about like you're really trying to find somewhere for Huberto to not be a sink hole.
And that affects a lot of other lines.
Yeah.
I mean, when you look at those lines, is it maybe rewarding Pospisal a little bit for some good play?
Maybe he moves in on that.
It's about Huberto because that's the hole that he moved into, right?
But Hubert O with Backland, and it's been said for years, that Backland has a tendency to make guys better.
good luck we shall see the power play has gone cold again i don't know if you've noticed was it ever
not cold when was that was it the five on three outside or what was it they had a couple five
on three years now the uh oh for eight in the last three games Montreal meanwhile they
love are they're loving the power play they have power play goals in each of their last six
so they special teams have been good for the halves not sure what to expect we'll uh we'll take it in
It's a five a close start.
You're going to watch it.
Who's doing the after burner tonight?
I believe it's,
it's Rhett and a boom.
Oh, nice.
Me and Retroke tonight after the game.
Such great success we've had in the past,
Dean.
I know it will continue.
Stacking Ws.
Yeah.
And we do have to note that a
Sean Monaghan anytime goal is out there.
And this would be one we are saying as part of it.
We've made three anytime goal bets
of former flames against the flames.
We're already up 450.
That's something like that.
So we are keeping because it was Phillips was plus 550.
We swung and missed on somebody else.
Now Monaghan, you have to play this if you're the Flames,
former Flames score against the Flames.
Monaghan's in that mix.
So we'll see how we do.
We could be up real big here pretty quick if he scores tonight.
I should check that.
I think it was plus 220-ish somewhere around there, Jack.
You looked into it too, didn't you?
For an any timer?
Yeah.
Well, Betway taking care of you.
I'm in the USA.
Betway's a little different.
Plus 230.
There you go.
Plus 230.
That is free money, boys.
Go against it.
And you know what?
You'd think it would be more than that.
But even Betway's like, no, we're aware of guys of the scoring.
I saw Lice Lindholm a plus 150 and I'm like, why?
Anyway, it's, yeah.
Monat scoring and he's playing his old team.
It's the flames.
Count it.
We'll be having a great time after the game tonight with after Burr, me and retro.
You excited?
Oh, pumped up.
I'm going with popcorn tonight,
I'm going to pop some corn.
You know what else I'm going to do?
And I want to tie it in.
Our buddies at Origin.
Yeah, yeah.
Origin brewing.
Homegrown logger tonight.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Right there, top right corner.
And speaking of which, our buddies over at,
now again, we've partnered with Origin,
a great family run business.
They got the farm.
They got the malting business.
And then they got the brewery.
They got the tap room in Strathmore.
They are selling as fine.
a logger as fine a beer as you're going to find anywhere.
Indeed.
And if you are, if you're going to slide by National in the West Hills location or on 17th, National,
got it.
They're now pumping out homegrown logger on tap.
Thank you, National for jumping on board.
Good job, boys.
Those are two little good watering holes.
I've fancied both of those, the West Hills and the 17th Avenue.
You would be very familiar with that.
Good work, fellas. We'll see you there.
Give it a shot. Get in there.
And if you don't have origin at your water and hole, say, hey, I hear a fat boy and the other two guys talking about origin out of Strathmore.
What do we got to do to get it on tap here?
Delicious.
Yeah.
Let's do some DoorDash.

Tomorrow on the program, or I guess not tomorrow, Thursday,
but we wanted to give you a heads up.
Get your Askeret questions in.
Right.
Bontan, every Thursday brings Askrette to the table for you.
Calgary tradition.
You see it there.
Greg Keller.
Got some Greg Keller texts yesterday.
Yeah, he was yippin yesterday.
Yeah, he was.
It's a yippin about.
Just some thoughts.
He's a Flames fan and, you know, he's a frustrated Flames fan.
He loves a team.
Sam Bennett yet?
No.
Never.
I've thrown that out there, Benner.
And then it's, yeah.
Fonton meat market.
Calgary tradition since 1921, treating people great.
It's the best in the business, the very best.
And coming up on Thursday, Ask Ret.
You can get your questions in.
They trickle in.
I got a couple yesterday.
So Thursday on the program will do that.
Get your email questions in.
Askrette at Flamesnation.com.
is the email address.
And we will get to those on Thursday.
What did we talk about last week?
What did we get into?
Trying to remember.
Because usually it ends up being food.
It was a chili?
We were talking about what you put in chili.
No,
I was a week prior, I think.
Because I don't think Pinder was here last week.
Yeah, I don't remember.
I said hello from California adventure,
Spider-Man lined.
That's what Thursday was.
Right.
How is California?
It's freaking hot.
I'm getting burnt on my left side.
See how hot this is here?
Yeah, it's no good.
You don't want to be there.
No, it's fine.
Just jump in the pool.
You're good.
See the fight chickens we got over here?
What's with the inflatable cocks over your shoulder there?
Well, you know what, Dean, different strokes or different folks?
I guess so.
It's nice doing the show out in the fresh air and the sunlight and the, like, it was fine till
those damn lawnmowers came by and the air blowers.
It's a problem, but.
Take that aside.
Like, it's very comfortable, would you say?
Yeah, I feel a little sheepish, but it's pretty phenomenal to do the show down here.
Why do you feel sheepish?
I wouldn't feel sheepish.
No reason.
I'd just probably to do with my family.
I'd have a thing stay there is what.
I went to Buffalo.
Yeah, you did.
At least the football.
Super Bowl?
Oh.
Yeah.
The bells are the kombucha.
It's like, ah,
the kind of ours.
Uh,
no.
Uh,
uh,
time for a message.

And we'll tell you why
the slash flames nation
is worth your time.
Therapy is an important part
of making, getting things to feel better, just things can be better. If you find yourself in a
spot where it's just, it's a struggle and you don't really know why, give online therapy a shot.
And now with better help is a great opportunity to do so because you go out and you ask
for help. Everyone says, if you feel it, you got to ask for help. And it's hard for a lot of
us to know what that even means. This would be probably, it's certainly the most convenient and the best
way to do it. It's entirely online. It's designed to be convenient, flexible, and suited to your
schedule. You fill out the questionnaire and the people at better help are going to find a licensed
therapist that meets the criteria that should be a good fit. If it's not, you can switch therapists
at any time for no additional charge. And you get working towards getting that help. It's not just
working through what's happening. It's finding the solutions, finding the answers and getting to those
you know, the strategies and coping skills to help you see things before they arise.

So tomorrow we'll be talking about the
the road trip.
Monaghan's nice tuck from the slot.
Yeah, Monaghan's shelf wrister.
Boy, he could always shoot it.
He can shoot it.
His wrists weren't broken.
The one thing. If he get the puck and a stick,
just how quick he gets it away, just lightning fast.
What could have been?
First rounder.
It's a Florida pick.
Probably going to be late. Don't worry about it.
Who needs first?
Oh, I thought you meant when he got drafted.
I went through that.
Yes, last, well, it was yesterday when you weren't on some of that stuff, too, Pinder.
Like, I really went into my backpack.
He did, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If the flames are going to be as bad as I think they're going to be next year,
you're not going to be too worried about that pick.
It's not the flames one.
It'll be the Florida one that goes to Montreal.
It's still a first that was yours, though.
Correct.
You had it.
That is correct.
No reason to get rid of it.
And you're really trying to get it.
Well, they had a reason.
I don't know that we agree.
with the logic on it, but yeah.
It's a heck of a deal for the Habs.
Maybe you could send them another first
Bermontahan back.
I mean, you, you, you were,
the player that you received
Oh, boy.
Has 13 points in 15 games
is tied for your team lead and goals.
And they gave you a first round pick.
All right, we're doing yesterday's show.
You can't.
Don't, yeah, so.
Well, it's not really yesterday show.
It's just, uh,
poor rat.
Bill suck.
See you tomorrow, buddies
