You talk about giving the love. I saw you were loving on the Oilers the other day with with Babcock and that, which is, you know, that's out of the usual. I don't know if that was loving. I just said enough with the lip service. Like, you know, you can have this. Everybody is 100% healthy.

Everybody's, you know, at the start of the year for everybody. Everybody looks good, feels good. Teams going to be great, all of that. And it's just like, I think. what happens is the summer is is even too long where for people like us it's just speculation oh what are they going to do what what's it like i i want to see you know whether it's edmonton or toronto or some of these organizations winnipeg Detroit like they've got major question marks over top of their organization no matter what and and different types of storylines but like you know ray farr was on our show

yesterday he said something really interesting was he goes he goes he goes he goes he's You know, he had John Totorella in the finals. So Ray was calling the games. And he said, he noticed the difference in Torts. And Torts told him, I'm a different person now. I'm a different man. Obviously, you grow older. You have a different perspective.

All of that type of stuff. But he said, the way I deal with my athletes are a lot different than I did when I first started my career. All I thought about is, is Mike Babcock going to be able to adjust to that type of, it's a different world now? and I get it, we all are different. I'm different at 55 than it was at 45 to 35 to 25. Is there, there we go?

Is there going to be any type of like, you know, I don't know what the word is. Come to Jesus where it's like, I have to conduct myself differently, or is it just going to be bull in the China shop and it's my way or the highway? It'll be interesting. I think that's the most fascinating case going on.

And it's always just because it's McDavid and Ableton. There will be so much going on there. But I do think they are better equipped. Like I like Devin Levi. I think he's got a chance to be a good goaltender. I think he's a little overactive, but he's talented. They got Freddie Anderson. They've got, you know, Tristan Jari.

So they tried with the go thing. I was just taking a run at you. You were saying they're healthy. Is Anderson in Cam now? I thought he was going to miss him. I guarantee you when they signed him. They said don't even like take an extra mind of all. I think that's collusion.

I think that they said, we want to see if this Dev and Levi can play. Can I just stop this for just one second? Yes. Awesome. Great point by you. Good pivot by noodles to get to the flames. That's wonderful.

It's good broadcasting. He's going to ridicule the Oilers that Anderson's not in camp and sell us on the flames are next up five. If that is your takeaway from the last two minutes, so be it. I was literally asking if Freddie was healthy because you said they're healthy. and I'm like, shoot, I thought Anderson was going to miss camp. Well, and Savoy, and Savoy. But I'm just talking about the more I look at that group.

I think they had a good offseason. And they didn't have a good. We don't like talking Oilers. They're good. They didn't have a good, from a good PR standpoint, they had a terrible offseason, right? You know, Babcock and Foreminton and all of that. I'm not going to get into it.

They're going to get to games. That's what they have to do. They are a better team on paper today than they were at the end the season. Well, we're talking oilers now, but go back to Calgary. No, no, no, no, because I made a point about Babcock coming in and I don't know

if you were on or heard it. And I said, the way Drysidal and McDavid and Hyman and all these guys talked is that we need a coach that'll push us. And to me, my interpretation of that was we needed a coach that'll push Bouchard. Because Bouchard's a 90-point defenseman, but it's so soft in his own

end that he hurts us at times. And it's painful to watch. And I think that's why they want a coach that'll push. But you know what? You're right. But how about a coach that implements a system that guys know where to go in the defensive zone? And that includes 97 and 29 who go out there and it's dog park defense just skating around and blah, blah, blah. Hey, there's the puck and let's go over here. Like to me, that team is seriously flawed from a systematic standpoint. And I watched it

up close and personal when Florida dismantled them two years in a row. That, you know, talent level you can argue. But I can also, I can also say that Florida knew exactly what they were doing every time they stepped on the ice. Where McDavid even said, we just, we kept doing the same thing expecting a different result. That's coaching. That's saying like, hey, we don't have an answer for this. So we're just going to go out there and hopefully McDavid can go to it harder.

And they went to first time head coaches two in a row here. So they've swung the other way. I know they wanted Cassidy Bad. And he would have been a great fit. But structurally, I think Babs will be similar to Cassidy. He's going to be a hard ass. They're going to have a lot of structure. But you know what?

You know, I want to get to Calgary. But here's the thing. We do it all day. Here's the thing. With Babcock, if the accountability can be there. Because it's all kumbaya. That's why I was mad the other day saying, I just hear lip service.

And it's coming out of dry sidel's mouth where it's like, you know, men and that's how that's how Babcock talked, you know, all the time. We've got men that got to feed their families here that, you know, we got young kids that got to learn. And all of, they're saying all the right things. Is that your Babcock impression or your dry sight? No, no. Guys feed their families. That was dry-sidal talking.

But my point being is like, I want to see what it's like end of November on a Tuesday night when dry-sidal takes a 95 second shift and walks to the bench. Because we've seen that, right? We've seen that and the body language is off. And Babs comes down and gives him a jolt. Because Darrell Sutter would come down and give him a jolt. I always felt that Darrell was the perfect scenario for that. I think Bruce Cassidy would have been.

But if you were able to get Darrell off the farm, he would have been the perfect guy to come down and give him a little, you know, the cattle prod and say, hey, you want accountability? I'm going to hand you some right now. How about we miss a shift? Or how about you, you know, get your head out of your rear? Or how about you play, you know, anyways, move on.
