I don't know how many are good saves versus just like, damn, there's no room for the puck to go in. And it also just seemed like a constant fire drill around Wolf's net. Well, I'm just saying, like they have not hit three goals since opening night. When to be fair, they probably should have had zero. I feel like last year we had this conversation and they were still winning. But they scored a bunch at the early. part of the season. Last year, three was like, okay, we can get three, but the fourth is impossible. This year, three only happened when. Trapp it up. Trapping doesn't lead to goals is the problem. You can trap all you want. You don't get to three. You have to sometimes, listen, I am not a bean salad guy. But when Bean Salad is part of your defense that you're relying on,

when Jake Bean Salad is part of your trap defense. Top four, Jake Dean Salad. That makes things difficult. That was a great defensive effort. Yeah, they held the Jets to two goals. That's the team that won the West. You want to win that game. Except you didn't.

And then it started to regress. And right, you could see how that came to be. Now you're trying to squint and see, okay, it's the, they're on track to be one of the worst offensive teams potentially ever

at a one to two goal a night pace. But the hard part is now to, so how does this improve? Because it won't be this bad all year. There's going to be stretches where they score and they win, and you just know that's going to happen. But it doesn't feel like they're, I don't, it was 33 shots. I don't think Hellebuck at the end of the night was like,

hey, I don't know who we're playing next, but I need that night off because I got shelled tonight. No, but he was good. Yeah, I agree, though. He wasn't like, yeah, they'll create enough. They don't finish enough. They don't create enough. And it's probably a function of having to be so good defensively

that you're trading off the chance. for an odd man rush to trap it up and I'm oversimplifying but and again like who on this team would you write down in Penn and say that guy's getting us 30 nobody show me the lineup

Picking 10th this year does not turn the ship around in time for a new building. That kid's not in the NHL in two years. Picking first, second or third, that kid might get a season in the saddle down before he goes to the new building. I don't, right. Like, I don't disagree with it. But there is. You still have to get to the bit of the lottery balls. But it's game seven.

Great. Yeah, we're, I was going to say, we're trying to like not let our stupidity take over the place. But we've seen since we've joined the nation, a bunch of people. We've been getting like a lot of like one of us texts from people with the nation. So I'm like, okay, you guys want this. All right.

Careful what you ask for. Specifically you guys too, because we just did the leaf show. and they were like, they were trying to describe the vibe of our show. And they were like, they're kind of like those, those idiots at Barnaburner. And I'm like, that's the highest compliment we could think of for you guys. Well, and likewise, yeah, that's amazing. For us to be affiliated now, our stupidity can combine and, you know, watch this thing grow even greater.

Welcome aboard, fellas. For people that don't know you, tell us about the show, how you got started. And you're obviously, you are located in Boston. and I'll tell that part, but the rest is yours. How did you dummies get together to create this magic? We are a daily NHL show Monday through Thursday that you can get here on the What Chaos YouTube. And we started this show two seasons ago.

And before that, we'd had a pop culture podcast. We've been doing stuff together forever. But yeah, I used to be a Bruins beat writer. And Pete and I got connected that way because Pete was the preeminent Bruins person. Just like Bruins asshole on Twitter. We didn't know who he was, how old he was, anything, but we were like, we must find this person.

And from there, we've just done a million things together. And yeah, this is our latest and greatest endeavor. And it's the most fun we've had. We talk to players, we talk to coaches. It's not to do the like, our show is a little different thing, but our show is for sure a little different. The comments on the videos we post with players are like,

those two hosts are absolute idiots, but this video was really, but they're lucky the player was, was really cool with them. So like that's the vibe we're going for. We want you to like the people we have on, not necessarily us. Yeah, our show works that way too.

We're going to be a great fit together, fellas. I appreciate it. I remember Pete being. on Twitter. I'm like, I love this guy's like 13 to 42, but like he's funny and he seems to be the go to for Bruins Intel. So Pete, you can keep your secret of your age. Teen's to 40 somewhere in there. Yeah, I think that we just like to have fun and kind of bridge the gap between like being a fan and like actually taking the sport seriously. And we like to meet somewhere in the middle and just have fun with it. And we've been able to do that. You guys also have been doing some serious investigative journalism I've been noticing. I didn't know this shit was happening. But down in the States, it's a little different than it is up here. ESPN's got the rights for the package of games in the U.S. Here in Canada, SportsNit Plus says everything.

you can always watch all the games there, but in the States, it's ESPN Plus. And they're doing some shady-ass bullshit with their commercial breaks. Tell us how you figured this out. And apparently they're now going to fix it. You guys are legends. So if it gets fixed, I've said every time we've been asked about this, I don't want anyone fired. I don't want anyone suing me.

I don't want any like I do. All I want is for it to be fixed because I have missed 45 seconds of Jack Michaels and Louis DeBrusk every time. it comes back from commercial and I have to fast forward to catch up to live action. And what if a team scores a goal in that time? Basically what's happening, we think, is when ESPN Plus goes to commercial, the break that you end up experiencing, and this is worse on some devices than others, so I don't want to put it all on ESPN Plus.

But the break that you end up experiencing is longer than the actual broadcast commercial break. So say I'm watching a game on Sportsnet. and they have a 90 second break. What I might end up getting, watching on ESPN Plus on a Samsung TV, ends up being two minutes. And then it returns to the game after, but it returns to where they come back from break.

So I don't know that I've just lost 30 seconds. And I have to manually check and fast forward to catch up. We brought this. I texted Pete and our producer Sean about it last week, like, hey, is this happening to you? And Pete checked and he was like, holy smoke. it's happening to me. So we talked about it the next day on our podcast,

and we have so many people, fans experiencing it, engineers explaining what might be happening. And we're not just trying to like sling feces. I've been calling ESPN support being like, let's get to the bottom of this. Not mad at you. Let's just get to the bottom of it.

It doesn't speak for me. I'm mad at ESP. Yes. Thank you. Me too. But ESPN did reach out to awful announcing and said like, hey, we know what they're talking about.

we're working on it. So I'll tell you about my experience. It's not fixed yet. An important part here too is that it accumulates. So like you missed 30 seconds and then like if you don't notice, you'll miss another 30 seconds down the road. And like by the second or third period, you're four minutes behind where the game actually is.
