Hello, buddies. Welcome back to another week of Barnburner. It is the 14th of October.
We're almost halfway through this son of a gun. Can you believe it?
Short week, Dean. You will leave it.
A question for you, a buddy. For a four day work week.
I've been saying it for years or two.
Say it for years.
It's fine. Welcome to the show, presentation of Bet, 365 this season. When you play,
why don't you play to win early with Bet365? You see it right there. Download the app.
Download the app.
A ding, ding, ding, ding.
at 365.
And we got the
super chat up and going.
If you are watching live,
you're in the YouTube,
you put money down with your comment.
Your comment makes it to the program
and the money gets sent to the youth centers of Calgary
as you join us today in a
brisk McLeodlaw, LLP studios.
I went to the thermostat.
I don't know who's undermining us in here.
Maybe cabby's playing games.
I don't know.
Gould.
Gold.
For sure.
When in doubt, playing Gould.
Yeah.
It's fine.
keeps us awake.
McLeoddashlaw.com.
You're buying a house.
You're getting divorced.
Do you need one if you get married?
I think you need someone to sign something.
Well, with all that dough, you're going to want a great pre-up, Dean.
Yeah, you're going to need a pre-up, Jack.
Protect your nest egg, Jack.
That's right.
That's right.
MacLeod-dashlaw.com.
The very best at what they do, and they happen to be in our city, which is nice.
Love having the availability to face-to-face.
Oh, can you zoom?
I don't want to zoom you.
I don't want any just can we sit down and check can we do that
I can I could I could zoom an AI I don't want to do it if you're real I don't want to do that
don't want to do it um my understanding is too McLeod law has nothing to do with the temperature
fluctuations in here no they don't know they're not very them on the case if it keeps happening
they're going to get a call uh how was everyone's right giving me finally sounds like he's not
sick oh we're back baby mine was kind of uneventful
I cooked a delicious.
You cooked the goods?
Stuffed turkey bars.
Oh,
yeah.
That was so good last year at your house.
They just sat on the couch,
which is fonton meats took good care of it.
I mean,
I had the 16 pounder.
Really?
Wait.
That feels like a large number.
It's a big,
I don't know they got that big.
Big.
Fonton meats.
And you had the stuffed so they,
there's a bit more work involved.
That's a special.
order they don't not for me it's less for you it's a lot yeah it's very easy it's less for me
bontan busy place people they're lining up in there everyone's excited you get that trailer
off the lot yeah he can give that back for another month or two anyway it's cute
bontan meets up and crowfoot the very best no question no question about it um jack how was your
uh it was good it sounded like you had some stuff on the go yeah it was a lot of football which
as per the usual.
I did a little Thanksgiving with my sister and my step brother last night.
But you're going to say your son.
No.
I don't have a son.
Step brother.
Sister.
It's good.
Lots of sports.
I'm still confused why they don't have hockey all day on Canadian Thanksgiving.
It feels like a huge mess.
I agree.
100%.
I actually researched it because I was so fed up with it because we're all doing nothing.
Yeah.
Why don't we have like a triple header all Canadian?
Start with your Toronto, Ottawa, get yourself a prairie.
matchup.
They go east to west.
Toronto to finish.
I look,
they have done games in the afternoon
on a Canadian Thanksgiving,
but it's very rare.
It's only a one-off.
And it's Columbus Day in the States.
I have no idea if that's a real holiday
or like a half one.
It's a faker.
But the only game was an 11 a.m.
or between, I think it was Buffalo and Florida.
Yeah.
What are we doing?
The Hitman played.
You could have went to the Hitman game.
I want the CFL at a game.
I'm like, wonderful good friend,
James Patrick, who is one of the greatest human beings out there.
God, it looks like,
he could still play that guy.
Which is odd because you do
shit talk them every once in a while on here.
Jeep?
Yeah, a little bit.
I think like about a week ago,
you had said something kind of in a derogatory manner.
I do not believe that to be true.
You definitely do that.
Jack,
Calm, cloud law.
We've got a defamation suit.
Yeah.
Wrongful defamation.
Because today is the,
it's the frozen frenzy today.
All 32 teams in action today,
retro.
They've staggered the start time.
Yesterday could be the frozen frenzy.
Correct.
It's so dumb.
A Tuesday in October.
And so what they'll do in another country not named Canada is cut in and out of games for like eight hours.
Again, two foot punts.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know what you want to show that in Canada.
I'm sure there's some circumstances involved in it, but I don't, I don't pretend to know.
And I don't particularly care.
You don't care about much, though.
That's the thing.
Like you have...
But here's the thing.
If you told me there were 28 teams going tonight,
would that be less?
No.
Am I going to enjoy today?
No, no, but you're missing the point.
They're literally going to have like a red zone hockey version today
and not put it on Canadian TV.
I think that's what we're saying,
whether it's 32 or 18 and calling it,
no, it's more of the recognition that it's Canadian Thanksgiving
and there's F all on the tube.
He's talking about frozen frenzy and kind of the red zone approach.
You're talking about Thanksgiving.
Two scheduling fails.
Yeah.
I can understand that.
I'm to the Canadian Thanksgiving for for frenzy.
Football.
Football.
Hockey Palozo.
Fantasia.
Fantasia.
Was last nice football game, was it a good one?
Was it awful?
What was it?
That was one of, it was, we had high expectations.
Like the result for you was very good.
Classic.
But there were.
some plays that were not very good
throughout this football. There was a little
don't care. I'm depressed.
Oh, what? What? After coming out of that?
I knew we talk about this
and I am extremely
depressed. I'll tell you why. And because
I'm a deep thinker, you won't
jump out at your race.
That's right. Is this a $150?
I am depressed
because
never again
in my life
will we have a player
of the caliber of Josh Allen on the
off the low bills.
So I have enjoyed the last nine years.
I will always be a Bill's fan.
But these will be the pinnacle of my Bill's enjoyment.
After Josh gets injured and retires, it's going to be downhill.
And never to be seen again.
You made a comment a couple weeks ago that I think is probably more astute than we
acknowledged at the time, which is that there's some heavy oiler vibes here.
Huge oiler vibes.
This man is like, you need to get this bleeping guy a ring.
Give him a defense for the first time ever before it's all over and you'll never have a
quarterback as good as him.
A lot of similarities.
I'm Qie too.
You still got him a goalie.
Still a guy out on the defense.
I'm depressed because that's what's coming.
It did feel like last night, the one thing that he could get, because he doesn't have receivers,
they get him a receiver and then he's injured.
And now it's just the rest of the mixed bag.
He has a running back, but then his running back fumbles twice.
say, I guess I'm just going to have to run this.
It did look, and he looked frustrated, didn't he?
Even his comments after the game were not jovial.
I think it was a bit coy, but I think deep down, he's like, what?
So the receivers, if you guys could just be as convincing as possible,
make it look like I might actually, because I'm not going to,
but I might actually throw you the ball.
Put on your best, just try so hard to look like it.
And all I'm going to do is just keep the ball and run every down until we get close.
enough for our hopefully our kicker doesn't mess it up there is a point that game where it was like oh
Josh just realized he has to put the cape on and do this all himself oh and he just did yeah like you
finished with a hundred and twenty plus yards just soiled himself it would have seven attempts at the
half or five attempts or something is this football what are we yeah he'd like 70 pass here it was a
weird it was a weird game i missed the first half so what i saw was maybe the most entertaining two and
half quarters in our life but the first was not that yeah really
he's amazing, but yeah, I don't, I don't know how.
The same guy made the same punch out forced fumble on the same runner twice.
Mistfield block penalties, poor clock management.
It was a comedy of errors that led to an overtime game that somehow the bills won.
And James Cook's got to stop putting Vaseline on his forearms because he's leading the league and fumbles.
I mean, those peanut punches are tough.
They are?
But, and in a one-off, it's fine.
Yeah.
But he leads the league in running back fumbles over the last four or five years.
The same guy got him twice.
Yeah.
And they're great plays to Jack's point, but it's just, you can't.
And you even saw after the second fumble, he starts leading with his head and Landman punches his helmet once.
You're like, that's how you stop him.
Make him punch your helmet.
We'll look at our picks a little bit later on.
It's entertaining stuff, though, when the bills step on the field.
It really is.
It is.
A lot of flags.
Oh.
tons of that first half.
Reception for Coleman.
Nope. Nope.
Shakir.
I mean, when Shakir got tackled.
Yeah, that's like he's going to the house.
He's going to win it right here.
And you look at the replay and he hardly touches.
Barely got him.
Like he ever so slightly clips him.
I guess what was in the game saving tackle after?
I didn't beat you in fantasy.
No.
No?
You knew that a while ago?
Going into yesterday's game, I was looking at this, it was,
We're up 100?
I was up by over 100
Are you serious?
Are you serious?
Oh, good.
Well, because he's got all the bills.
He's got a lot of bills.
So that makes sense.
I was wondering.
And then after the first half, like Josh had three points.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Has anybody ever won by a hundred?
That's why we need the history book.
In a one quarterback kind of thing.
But then, of course, Josh went off.
Did you also have cook?
You don't have cook.
You had Coleman.
He got a touchdown.
Coleman and Kincaid, I have.
Keith, Kate was quiet.
My guys are, my,
My team, I was playing guys that were injured and I didn't have anyone else to put in.
Yeah, you had both Bengals running backs.
But in fairness, the backup was better than the starter.
Piran got to the house.
It is a, it is a flames game day.
Get your helmet on.
Oh, baby.
Game day.
Welcome to the program, Jason dot mortgage.
Jason Homanock named one of Canada's top 30 mortgage brokers buying, refinancing,
renewing, go to Jason.
Dot mortgage.
I was going through this stuff because, I mean, I'll be honest.
In my house, you talk about it.
There's blue jobs and what?
Pink jobs.
Pink jobs.
I'm an idiot.
I don't know.
Money.
Lovely lady that I live with.
She handles a lot of that stuff.
So I get the stuff.
Jason thought mortgage.
Okay.
Jason, how'm on a 30 top.
Okay.
I was like, do you pull out your renewal date for your mortgage?
If it's in the next 12 months, do you know what your rate is?
Do you know what a good rate?
Nope.
No.
Jason will.
You don't.
If it's in the next 12 months, go to jason.
Dot mortgage before you sign anything from your lender.
Jason will tell you what your payment's going to look like,
whether the offer is a good one.
And apparently the offer that you get from your bank,
you're like, oh, it's good for them.
Oh, it works in there.
Yeah, it seems to work in there.
Maybe do a little bit more digging,
which is among the number of things that he could do for you.
Jason. Dotmorgage is not a dot com or a dotca.
Jason.
dot mortgage is the website to let Jason go to work for you.
So you don't have to not go to work for you.
That's right.
Yeah, because we're talking about a lot of money.
It's a mortgage.
They tend to be a large amounts of money to mortgage.
Yeah.
And it seems like maybe some people got their mortgage when rates were quite a bit lower.
Yeah.
So now it's going to.
Right.
Like a lot of things have gone up.
Just prepare.
Be prepared for that.
Jason will help you.
Jason will help you.
The flames are on the road in California.
all that they're doing a California thing, but they're not playing the Kings.
They're going to California to play the Ducks and then leaving to play the Vegas World
and Knights.
Or stupid.
And then it's something.
Yeah.
It's something with the abs.
They came to Calgary and they didn't play Edmonton.
They did the Winnipegagrean out.
We don't see that very often.
Well, 84 games of everything that's got.
Yeah, yeah.
Every team has got to be mad at the schedule makers.
They throws a few in on every schedule.
Stevie, Stevie that way.
These two teams just played each other.
Yeah.
When?
They just played Saturday.
Like just.
Oh, just just.
Like the last game.
Yeah.
For both teams.
Flames were that close.
Like how close?
Is this to scale or is that like a giant's fingers?
S&L was it S&L?
No, kids in the hall.
Crushing got it.
Crushing got it.
4-2 was the final.
Tied at two after 40 minutes.
Ryos there.
Hammered.
No, but eventually later it was.
Yeah.
Look, they had three power plays in the third in the tie game.
They all had a shardy and the power plays were awful and that was a game.
But they worked.
Kevin Ball absolutely hammered a guy for a shift to the game.
He's quietly put together some respectable hockey.
Not a long list on this team through five teams.
But no, just like he's been good.
If we had to say who's been good,
probably a lot of guys that are just okay or not a great start.
I like this version of Kevin Ball.
I did too.
When he's meaner and more physical.
Because he's a big, he is a brute.
Huge.
Well, he's not a brute, but he needs to be.
Yeah.
He can't be.
Brut in your game.
So when they need to fight.
It wasn't bruto.
And he will occasionally when he's sticking under two.
Smelly thing for a while.
That was cologne, yeah, by Faberge.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
A lot of brute.
Brute.
Is there a number?
Aftershave.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Brut something.
Sorry, I don't want to distract us.
But yeah.
Yeah.
He's proven now he can be physical.
You don't need to scrap.
Just.
keep guys accountable
and lay out that big old body ears.
Put your ass into them.
Yeah.
I have less like Rob Blake used to do.
I was at the other end and I'm like,
is the shoulder near the head there?
Because that could be a long and expensive time off.
But it was you threw the hoop at them.
You threw the shoulder at the head.
That's how you do it.
I have been used that big body.
Like them.
The effort was better.
It really was.
Yeah.
This is what I said.
You lose my two.
you put it in there no problem yeah and i was feeling good about wolf through 40 like okay this is
what you wanted you know two or less wow you give your team a chance to win and then it's like
five whole short-handed should have sealed the post four yeah so but they're in it through 40
this is a big change from three nothing through eight shots and six shots in the first period against
seattle his last two stars the fans are happy to leave there with the loss as long as they see some
guys working do we have that saturday yeah crowd was very excited when frost score is a beautiful
goal.
That was.
I don't know.
I thought the,
I mean,
he also made a save
in the third period
off of an egregious turnover
by,
I believe he wears number.
Stupid everywhere, Ryan.
I had too much stupid.
That's got some stupid.
More stupid.
55's a tough start.
Can't really debate it.
What do you want to talk about?
I can see that you're going to say,
you're thinking,
you're pensive he's looking like a seven nut of five six right now is that fair what are we going to
do there with this uh this guy because he brought him in to be tough and a leader
we've not seen anything like a i don't know if he's shoved anybody hasn't given a face
wash or even a stink guy um and could you
be a leader when you're
looking like maybe the
league is past you by.
Well, there's only three years left on that deal
at 4.35.
What? I thought there was one year.
This is a cash dump from Minnesota.
What are we? Oh, what?
Big time. Three?
Well, and they saw all the matter last year and they're like,
oh, that's better than what we have.
Let's make the deal. They take the bad contract,
give them three picks.
Coleman in there.
there's no way Minnesota lose this deal.
And for the flames, you're getting a bunch of picks that you're less than 50% to find anything good.
But hopefully you pack it together.
It's right.
You hit a home run.
Critique the picks.
Critique the.
No, yeah.
But it's like, and when I talk to people to know the Middleton very well, it's like he rides this wave of confidence where if he's not feeling good, he doesn't play well.
And if he feels good, you'll notice it.
He has not been feeling good.
hard to be also an aging tough guy on a shitty team.
I'm not joking.
I would think totally.
Because if you're on a good team,
there's probably only a few times.
He's like,
hey,
I could really swing the mow,
but you can't be doing that every night.
You don't want to 84 fights.
Every game,
there have been down and you can swing the mow.
I'd like to have seen it once by now, to be fair.
And I think he's a nice guy.
I think he's a great guy.
I think he's a great guy.
I think they love him.
him as a person as a person
I want to like him as a player
he's gonna have to do more
I don't know
why didn't I get a deal like well maybe I did
yeah he did it
he kind of did
now you said three years
that's including this year I mean they played five
so I'm saying this year and two more
oh that makes it sound that's better
it's framing
there's only two seasons after this season
that you're still paying him
how old is this man 30
jeez this is exactly uh you said at 31 things got squirrely for you oh we're gonna do there i don't love him
with now look i might not love him anywhere right now because he's just not playing great hockey
he's better than this but i don't think that's the guy he won't correct because he's not
going to be like zip-b-b-b-forth boom i use you you use me like he's not a passer of the puck
with great proficiency they might not early you're right but it might be a might be like protect
the young guy but it's partly i'm sure you're sure you're not you're
it's some of that and it's also maybe the coach is going
I don't know who can play with Perrette because he kind of
does his own thing so I'm not sure I'd like
to see because you can like
to see it doesn't make you the expert
I'm not the expert no I'm not saying I'm the expert
it's like we're literally talking about
who can play with Perrex so let's have the chat
you want someone defensively minded
that can skate a bit and it can pass like
I'd try him with Kuznetsoh
I'd try him on the left like they
talked about all summer then you can use
him with White Cloud and or Nemich like
I don't want to keep the blood
undergoing per se, but I don't think that's
where you're going to end up, but you're like, that was a
great fit. It doesn't look like it.
Doesn't look like it. No.
Injures, injuries, again,
and we'll talk about it. Not on the blue line.
Who?
We'll talk about it with our next guest.
Oh, this guy. Yeah, we go to the
Crystal Waters guest hotline. Crystal Waters.
Your crystal clear choice
for all residential plumbing, heating, and cooling
services. Their mission is to be the guardians
of your home's mechanical heart. I got it. I actually got
an email because I'm, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm,
I'm one of the people.
That's right.
Your client, Dean.
Right there.
From Bob.
Oh, Bob,
Bobby.
Thank you for you trusted Crystal Waters.
He homes do you have to get
Fall home comfort promotions.
The fall tune up sale is on.
Fall bundle and save.
Garage heater promotion.
Heating and cooling bundles.
Water heating and softener upgrades.
That's what I could use.
Yeah.
I did one of those.
That's what I could use.
Crystal Clearcallegree.com.
Thanks for the email, Bob.
It's nice to hear from him.
Checking in.
Sure it wasn't.
Oh, he was.
He remembered you always make buns on Thanksgiving.
That's right.
Howard the Bunstein.
How's the house?
We go to the guest hotline for Crystal Waters and say hello from QR 770 and the host of Flames now, the one and only Pat Steiner.
Patrick.
Hi, boys.
How are you?
Daddy.
Good.
Good.
How we doing, Jans?
Is that, do we have rail Madrid jerseys to your back left there?
I do.
Yeah.
A soccer guy.
Are you a pretend soccer guy?
No, he's really into it.
It's crazy.
He was zero and then three years ago.
I was asking him, not you.
He's right, though.
Like I was nothing and now I'm super nerd.
Yeah, like every game I have, I have every service possible so you can watch all their games.
They play in like three different leagues.
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Super nerd.
So what I do with your time.
Pat always does the big vacation in the summer.
So you must have been and gone to a game.
That's how it started?
Never went to a game.
I was in Madrid two summers ago
and I was like this place rules and so.
Just happen to be there, eh?
Just, you know, pass the truth.
You love that you're such a span here,
those afternoon naps.
You love it.
Oh my God. Are you kidding? Dinner at 10 o'clock.
That's right over.
Idiot hours. Oh yeah. Dinner time.
It's 10.30. I haven't eaten yet.
Probably time to have dinner.
Lunch at four o'clock. Just an idiot.
No wonder, no wonder I am 42
and not married. Like, how could you,
how could you marry somebody?
Shubler loved you at the wedding we went to.
What's that?
The shoveler had high,
uh,
high regard for Pat Steinberg at the Jason,
for us.
Jason's wedding.
So I'm not.
Text him back.
You wanted me to help them out with guns on me here.
This guy.
Ripped.
I was thinking about,
I've been thinking a lot.
Like if,
if maybe Derek Wills had come up with a new
kind of a signature call.
That's right.
Flames victory.
Now that they're on 770.
we're still waiting.
Yeah, we are.
You might have it loaded for months.
He's ready.
Because I was at the Sea of Red,
right, or whatever,
Peter Marr had put it in the wind column.
I would just wonder if there's something new
on the horizon for Wilsie.
We have not heard it yet.
That'd be killing them.
And I was wondering,
when might be?
Because I got looking at the schedule.
It's like,
Vegas and Anaheim and,
okay.
That's not a fun game to do, Pat.
But here we are.
has anything shocked you about the start to the season
in a way I feel like the Ofer record
might be near the bottom of that
what have been your takeaways I guess through the first couple weeks
well like the the goal tending has maybe been
a little little poorer than I thought it was going to be
like I thought I thought Dustin was at had his best game
of the year on on Saturday and the loss to Anaheim
So like it feels like maybe there was a step forward there.
And I didn't mind Cooley in the one game against Vancouver,
but you have black webbing and blue webbing to steal Pinders idea.
If you have that on your glove, maybe they, maybe they don't score.
And maybe that shutout holds up.
Who knows?
But I mean, Cooley fell apart against Colorado.
And it's just the, the goaltending numbers.
And the fact that I think that was the one thing that we came into the season saying,
well, you know, maybe here and there, you know, they're young,
and maybe not super deep there.
Don't have a lot of high-end talent there.
But, you know, you talk to any of the people who are really in on the
goaltending community, they might have, they should have a top 10 tandem.
They should have one of the best tandums in the Pacific.
And like they probably still could and might, but it hasn't been that through five
games.
It's been on par with the rest of the group.
Like they can't score and they have trouble.
They've actually spent a decent.
amount of time with the pocket and all that type of stuff, but they can't score and generating
quality chances has been a real slog. Oh, and they're allowing all kinds of quality off the rush
defensively. Oh, and their goaltenders are well below expected too. So it's, it's been, that's probably
been the area that I have been most surprised with, just because I thought that, you know,
Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley, regardless of what the split was going to be, I thought that there was
pretty good chance that they could hold them in a lot of games.
So, you know, that and the fact that they really, they really haven't been overly competitive,
what they played 15 periods. And okay, so the Anaheim, the Anaheim game on Saturday,
they were pretty competitive in. And that was the first time this year probably that he said,
yeah, you know what? That's the, that's the formula that a lot of people were hoping for, right?
They play their tails off. They work hard. It's a close game, but they lose. And that was the first time
that you could say that. But I mean, the rest.
have been even the Vancouver game, that third period,
when completely off the rails and the final 20 minutes is hard to watch.
The two Seattle games and the Colorado games,
I mean, those have been complete runaways where maybe you look at the flames
and say they played 20 good minutes.
So that's maybe been the other surprise is that they've just been,
like, we knew roster-wise they were going to give up a lot.
There was going to be a lot of disparity to a lot of teams they played.
But like for it to be so lopsided and at times like so hard to watch,
with how how well the other team is controlling things and how second best the flames have looked.
That's maybe been the other surprise to me through two weeks or a week and a half or whatever we're at.
It was the first ethical loss on Saturday.
Yeah.
Like we talked to me the ethical tape last year.
Yeah.
I mean, they're right there.
The special teams was the difference.
You had three power plays in the third and you allowed a shorty and didn't score.
See you.
Yeah.
And they they did a pretty good job against Anaheim's best player.
and all that.
But then next thing you know,
when a really good team wants to wrap it up
like they did in the third period,
they can do that and win a game.
And I didn't think Anaheim was especially good,
which is why I kind of worry about this one tonight.
Joel Quinville will be in their ear and say,
listen, we got a short hand.
We are two, two in the third,
and we got a shorthanded goal.
Let's get it to get it.
The flames are going to sneak the odd win.
We're looking at the schedule going.
When's it going to happen?
But it'll be one of these, oh, the other team
forgot to show up.
It feels like that's the...
First game back from a road trip tonight.
Look out.
Yeah, sure.
I think it was just a two-game trip.
I don't know.
I don't care.
Sam Hansick announced as week to week with a lower body injury.
Injured in the game against Colorado Thursday,
kind of went back to luck.
He was on the ice late in that game.
He played 15, just under 16 minutes.
What do we know about this injury?
Or what do you know about this injury?
Because week to week is...
It's not what he needs.
now. Well, I mean, they're saying week to week. So from what I understand, they're saying
week to week because they don't know exactly how long it's going to be, but they're, they're
like fully confident that it's not going to be a long, long term one or anything that
starts to really mess with his ability to finish the season or anything like that. So I know that
much. I know that essentially right now they're, they're kind of just starting the right.
I guess shutting Hansek down for a little bit just to make sure whatever happened,
um,
they,
they can calm down a little bit and that that's the,
the really,
they're really quite confident though that like this is not going to be something
that that drags on into December and stuff like that.
So it is week to week,
but like week to week means two weeks sometimes or it could mean six,
seven,
eight weeks.
But I,
I think it's going to be,
if all goes according to plan,
it's going to be on the shorter end of that.
And it's,
it's too bad because,
again, that's the third straight season
or fourth straight season
that Sam Hansek has started well
and then an injury has derailed
him early on and they've all
been different. They've all like there's
there is a skate cut one year. He ran
into his captain last year. There was
the Connor Murphy hit a few years
ago that knocked him out. Now this being
a lower body one that doesn't sound like
it was even sustained
like a in a
hit or anything physical.
Just like one of those,
just one of those potential non-contact things that happens.
So yeah, I feel awful for the guy.
And you just hope that it goes the way because boom,
how many times did we have the conversations early on in Michael Backland's
career where it was injury after injury?
It's so similar.
Oh, I mean, he, yeah.
And I was convinced.
He's a first rounder.
He's not shown anything that would get you drafted in the first round.
And he can't stay healthy.
It just felt to me like, this is a guy that'll just go.
he'll and Sweden, some European team
and just play over there and he's still here.
I hope it's the same for Hansik,
but I got to feel,
I feel it like I'm much in the same spot
where when we talk about where this team is going to be
in two or three, four years down the road,
Ryan will then, you know, Hansick,
it's not a Ryan thing,
but I just always say,
until I see that he's able to remain in the lineup
for any amount of time and show some,
show something.
I have a hard time.
giving him a spot on this team down the road if I'm putting this team together.
It all comes down to whether or not it goes the way it did for Michael, right?
Like now Backland is one of the most durable players in the NHL,
and you can expect he turns 38 March,
and you can still expect him to play, oh, 84 games.
That's easy-peasy.
It's why everybody, everybody's pretty convinced that he's going to set the all-time record
in past Jerome's number of 1219 this year because it's, what, 72 games is all he needs to play this
year in 72 games. Michael does that in his sleep now, right? So you hope that it goes that way for
Hanzek that, you know, it is just because I remember with Backland, yeah, there were some non-contact
things. There were some, if there was a groin in there. Pinky injured. And yeah, the pinky early in
in the season, and now all of a sudden that's behind him. So like Hansek has put on a ton of weight
over the last couple of years. We're up to like, I think we're probably talking like 15, 16, 17 pounds.
he works his ass off in the summer.
Like he, conditioning wise, this isn't a situation where the guy hasn't put the work in
and hasn't gone down the road that the training staff has asked of him.
It just the injuries have piled up.
And so you hope that this turns into a scenario because you do feel for the guy that, you know,
he's he's not a guy who's injury prone and he's a guy that's just had some unlucky
injuries here early on in his career.
And until we see how it goes, we don't really know.
Like I get why I saw it all over social media.
yesterday. I get why people like,
oh, another injury. Like, is this going to be
the story of Hans-X career?
And we don't know, but
I do know he puts the work in.
I do know that he's addressed all
of this stuff in multiple summers.
So hopefully it pays off and that
it does start to turn into
more of a durable career here.
Like, he just doesn't play.
Draft here. He only had 40s.
What's you going to do? Let's show him. Show him,
let's take a look. Go full on right there.
So, reach.
but
Rhett was always good at the sit and reach.
Yeah,
Cronner.
Yeah.
Croner.
Yeah, he's played more than 40,
more than 45 games once in the last four years.
You can tell him that.
Once.
Tell them the stretch.
Stretches.
Yeah.
Stretch.
Because we do believe it's a lower body.
So.
Yes.
He's lower body.
Yep.
Yeah.
Not.
With hamstring issues before.
Oh, he tore his calf on our watch party last year.
I can tell you all about it.
Jeez.
We were all,
I'm not looking for you to throw guys under the bus,
but we were discussing.
Keep it positive here.
I know.
It's got to work with these schlaps.
I know.
Shlaps.
Jacob Middleton comes back in the Coleman deal.
He's going to be kind of an aggressive leader,
a guy in the room that can help keep things light.
And can you play that role when you're not playing well?
Can you be the jovial guy when everybody's,
maybe if you play a little better.
It's been a tough start for Middleton.
and I think he is a great guy
and I think he's what they need in that
in that dressing room
like the thing about
Lomburg when he was here
is that he was Lomberg when he stepped on the ice.
Maybe that's an easier job than what middle is
long as he wasn't on the ice too that
which is as important.
But it's not like you go and look
I don't think Longberg can play.
Like he just he had energy and he'd go out
and he'd do what he'd do.
Maybe he'd score a goal,
but it wasn't even about that.
Easier for him to be that guy.
It feels like it's harder when
you're just not playing well.
Technically, it's harder as a defenseman to do that.
Sure.
I don't,
and it's not an excuse and it's not a bias for a defenseman,
but it is.
It's a forward.
It's like,
I don't have to make a play if I'm Lumberg.
I can chip it in and all I have to do is going to be charging in there and run it.
Whereas Middleton's the guy going back to get the pike and is getting,
he's turning it over.
He's lumbering around.
He's,
he's in a bad way right now.
We've looked at it's got two more years.
after this year, what are you seeing with with 55?
Is bad start better days ahead?
How does this come around?
I'm not, I'm not sure because so when they acquired him,
lots of people in Minnesota said,
you're going to love this guy.
Like he plays a certain way.
He's going to be a perfect fit on your third pairing.
And hey, I mean, they, as you guys said,
you lose Lomburg, so you kind of lose that element on the ice
and you lose that element in the locker room.
We've seen plenty of highlights of Middleton dropping the gloves.
We know we can do it.
And I even, like when they paired him and correct together for training cap,
I even said to myself, huh, that's kind of interesting.
Like, you know, right now, Zane is the number one prospect on the team.
And you already see it like teams do take that they maybe focus on finishing checks a little bit more on 19
than maybe some of the other guys.
Like this, it all just goes as part and parcel.
of learning your way in the league.
And so having a guy like Middleton, you're like, okay,
you know, that's the right potential fit because not only is he,
as everyone told us, like a really good stay at home D,
but he also can be a guy that can maybe add a little bit of the protection element
when per X on the ice.
And so we just, we haven't seen really any of that to this point.
I mean, you take a look at the Colorado game and a couple of the goals that end up
as dashes for those guys.
I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's Middleton who's, you know, flash screening coolly or it's
Middleton who is losing puck battles and losing races behind the net.
Like it's been like kind of hard to, it's kind of hard to gloss over the fact that through
through the five games, he has struggled.
And it's been like, I can tell you the last two post game shows, it's been a really
hot topic in terms of do you take him out?
Do you bring a Hanley in?
And I think there's probably some sense in it.
I don't know what they're going to do tonight, didn't look like it.
at practice on on Monday, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's what the decision is going to be
in the game tonight. But like it seems to, I certainly would like to see a slightly different
look. Like I think Ball Nemitz is something they need to give some real runway to. And then I think
they need to really give some runway to another partner for Perrek. And whether that's Kuznetsov,
I heard you guys talking a little earlier. Like do you make the flip like Perrex talked about playing
on the left and how much he likes doing that? Do you feel? Do you feel?
flip that at some point and playing with White Cloud because that was a really nice run down the
stretch.
Like I get it.
Like if they're, if they're saying right now that we don't want to, we're not, we're not
quite ready to flip Perrek and like his true rookie season, even though he's not a rookie,
like it's, it's his first full NHL year.
If they're like, okay, let's just pump the brakes on that.
Let's keep him on a strong side.
Well, then put them with Kuznetsov because at the very least, I think you have a little bit more,
a little bit more comfort to put Perak out there in more.
minutes at five on five because right now, unless you're, unless you're putting them out there with
different defense partners, like I do think there's a bit of a hesitation playing that pair right now.
And it's more because Middleton has struggled. So I, it could very well be just an early five game
malaise. And, and he is better than this. And I know, I know well enough not to judge a book by
a 15 period sample size, but there's, there's also no debating that he is struggled, that it
doesn't look like a good fit with your most important prospect on the team.
So I really, and I've said this a few times on post game shows because the text line has been
lit up about this topic for two straight games.
I was like, yeah, you know, I think it's probably at the very, if you don't want to scratch
Middleton, like I get it.
He's a big, but you gave him an A for a reason is one of those rotating alternates.
You see a lot of leadership qualities in him.
Like, I get all that, but I still think you need to have a really large conversation about
putting Porek with a different partner.
If you want to go Middleton White Cloud, have at it,
like that seems like a really potential
tough pairing to play against
and a really good, you know, kind of
defensively sound pairing and
let Porek and Kuznetsov go.
Because I think Kuznetsov's defensive metrics
and defensive side is, again,
a decent fit for a guy like
Perk. So I definitely think
it's valid to be having these conversations.
I've noticed the struggles.
It's been difficult
early on. And so, you know,
they've put a lot of other things in the blender back there,
for whatever reason, that pairing hasn't been split up.
And I think it's a valid conversation to have to see if maybe you can get a little bit of a better fit on the left side of Perrek, right?
How does Bristevich get back into this mix?
Because I think sometimes out of mind, but like he did not look bad last year.
He looked like a very talented young player that at times had really good NHL games.
Sometimes like, okay, he's a rookie.
That game is a little too much.
but I mean, it's kind of clogged here.
If you're going to play White Cloud in Middleton every night
and you like the way that Kuznetsov has blossomed
and you are going to keep Perek on the right,
like what's the pathway back here?
Well, I mean, it's kind of like there's three,
there's three pathways for Brestevich to get back.
Like one is an injury, clearly.
So somebody gets hurt on the right side, Brestevich,
especially with Pahal down in the American League now.
Somebody gets hurt on the right side,
even if it's for two or three games,
Brestevich is your first guy up.
Two, you move Porek to the left and you try that.
And I don't get the sense.
They're like knocking on the door to do that right away,
but that could change in the snap of a finger.
So all of a sudden you put Porek with ball,
sorry,
per rec with White Cloud and you're in a situation where again,
another right side spot opens up.
And then the third is a trade.
Like if,
and I don't, I don't think that we're in a situation or a window
where that's anywhere close.
But, you know,
if at some point,
between now on the deadline, somebody gets moved.
I know there's been a lot of talk and rumor out there about White Cloud,
the Maple Leafs and stuff like that.
Like White Cloud's going to get a ton of suitors as we move closer to the trade deadline.
That's a guarantee whether or not the flames want to pull the trigger on a deal or not is another question.
But they'll have all kinds of interest in a guy like White Cloud.
So that would be the third way.
And I just, that seems a little further down the road.
So right now, like any immediate road is an injury, which you never want to hope for or they do.
Kind of unchanged, though.
from where we talked
when he went down. Has it changed since training camp?
Yeah. And the left side thing
like, Rets talked about a ton. When you played
or at least for you, not a big deal, right, or left, who cares?
But to hear Conroy talk about him in the left and to hear
Porexate on the left and then for us to see
everything go wrong,
that they seem hesitant to try them on the left.
Like the player and the GM both, we heard them out of their
mouths that they're like, oh yeah, we could see them on the left side.
They're not trying it.
Not yet. And I feel like they
I like the the sense I get is that they're like okay it's it's the guy's first full
NHL season and there are especially especially the way they like to play and the coaching staff
feels like there are significant advantages to having left and right on the the proper or the strong
side and so I think the feel is like you know right now with Zane figuring out a lot of stuff
about being a full-time NHL are like look I think we all agree that dynamically like offensively has been
a very, very dynamic player.
And I think that we've, I certainly feel like he's like out of the player.
Yeah, out of the things that we've seen that might concern you.
Yeah.
None of it's really been correct.
I agree.
I think he's been victim of a couple soft penalty calls that should not have been penalties.
But he has his, he has his defensive shortcomings that show up here and there.
But like.
The unexpected stuff has been the goal tending has, has let them down.
Mm-hmm.
And I feel for them in a way because I feel like
Middleton was going to be the steadying force brought in to play,
and he's been anything.
But it's some things that you would not have expected.
Sunnihav comes in and scores.
Like those two guys after Zari and Pahal go down,
I've like both Castania and then Sunnihiav in the two games that they've played.
It's kind of what you were counting on having that has kind of let them down a little bit.
Yep.
the young outside of outside of gridden who I think is and even admitted as such when he spoke on
Monday and I thought looked better against Anaheim especially on the power play um but like per rec
I know Nemitz is still finding his way but I think that we've seen some flashes there but
soon he has been a a good story because stania's fit right in so like the the young kuznetsov steadied
out feels like feels like Coronado's been a really nice player early on he's shooting the
pocket ton. So like you've got some of your important pieces for the future doing what they need to do.
But like some of the things that needed to show up for this team to really be competitive on a
nightly basis hasn't been there. Like the white cloud and ball's gotten a little bit better,
but you take a look at White Cloud ball, Kuznetsov and Middleton, the four guys that you're
expecting to be the steadying forces back there. They've all been up and down and kind of roller coasters at best.
and I think balls leveled off
and I think Kuznetsov's leveled off.
But even White Cloud, I think, is capable
as significantly more than we've seen.
And we've talked about Middleton.
So that and the goaltending,
the things that you thought
were going to be really steadying forces,
maybe haven't been there yet.
And I think that's part of why we've seen
the lopsatted results to this point.
I'm still pretty confident, though,
they'll even out, at least in a couple of those cases.
And I'll say this,
just because we talked about them earlier
and because we always,
but like the captain still can play.
like he's he's probably a little over his skis in terms of being the you know they're kind of listing him as the number one center right now and and that's not what michael backland is but he's been he's been really strong in his role in doing what he needs to do so now there's there's that as well just wanted to throw that in there because we know that's good yeah i capture that yeah rats what fall asleep and the thing about the thing about just from a coaching put on your coaching hat if you
if you're huska.
So many unknowns.
And then there's the things that,
there's some things you know you can count on.
But then it's the,
that's the hardest on a coach is when you put trust and you have things that you
believe are goaltending is going to be fine.
White cloud and Middleton,
they can be kind of steady.
And to a lesser extent,
white cloud,
but their depth,
like those veteran D have not been strong in the goaltending.
We should,
I don't disagree with you.
But,
the love in that we always have with new guys
is maybe unfounded with Middleton.
There's reasons he's been on a couple teams
and I'm not taking a shot.
It's the same as White Cloud.
White Cloud was awesome last year.
Mada was unbelievable.
Those are very short sample sizes.
And usually it can happen.
When you're fresh and new to his squad,
all the excitement and change.
Because remember with Mata, he wasn't playing.
So yes, there's no miles in the chassis.
No trade clause.
It was like, what?
Yeah.
But it's not like he was playing 18, 20 minutes a night and then came,
I'm played in weeks.
I feel great.
Fresh as a daisy.
That's right.
So just to answer the Middleton, we're thinking that it, well,
Middleton's been a mid,
can't I saw a fringe defenseman on good teams.
This isn't a guy that's been a top four guy.
I think he had a little second pair of minutes of many,
but not last year.
Last year,
the playoffs.
You love to argue with me.
No, no, I just,
was, like we can go look at the minutes,
but last year he wasn't and that's why Minnesota got off.
Is he a top four guy? Not anymore.
What are you talking about?
I'm talking, well, he said he's never. So what
were the circumstances surrounding
it and was it rightfully put?
It's just the same as what I said. White Cloud
was top for you last year.
Is he a top four guy?
No. Not anymore. And we talked
about it earlier. He's at that age where it's like you're not
expecting the best. You're expecting some decline.
Anyway, Ryan
thinks Middleton was a top four.
his whole career until this year, but it's just not true.
And he is what he is.
So our expectation of what we're supposed to get is maybe a little skewed.
That's all I'm saying.
Like he and Zach Bogosian were crushed last year.
They were a pair.
He had a bad ear last year for the wild.
And yeah.
So I mean, it's not like there were no signs of this, I suppose.
Yeah.
And if you're Minnesota, it's like I've got Timu Middleton,
maybe it got it's even better at a third of the price.
Like, that's an easy trade to make.
Like, you've got to take this salary.
to get done. We'll give you a bunch of picks, but
like they knew what they were doing. 100%.
And again, he doesn't
have to stir the drink, but
you want him to be a steady third pair guy. That shouldn't
be too big of an ass. And maybe it won't be,
but it's new system, new, city, knew everything five games.
I know, but I find it surprised because usually when you go into
the new city, you have. We'll jump.
Yeah. That's the odd thing
for me is that it's not
certain stone. That doesn't always go that way, but I
Was he ready to fly?
Well, I wonder if the fat test should have happened.
Maybe this guy got married and had kids over the summer and just tipping them back.
I don't know.
Not everyone has that Steinberg gym workout.
Not everyone goes to plates every day.
He might have some pender in them.
I don't know.
I don't know.
He might.
Pinder's not running every day anymore.
Pinder.
Yeah.
Running practice of the liquor.
He's hot.
He's been sick for a month and he went two out of three out of three.
three piss ups this weekend.
So he's focused.
He's dialed it Thursday, Saturday.
Don't you lie to need it.
It's a good way to get out of five.
Two out of five.
So what do you do for, so are you in studio for the road games?
Because it's Anaheim tonight.
It's Vegas coming up later in the week.
Do you get food brought in?
What do you do?
What's the, because it's in different neighborhood than what you're used to?
You're up at the old 960 up there.
So now what do you do?
You know, it's, um, it's, um, it's,
like it's been, I don't know what, I don't know what to do with myself.
I don't know the, I still haven't like gotten the, um, the surroundings down.
Where is the label? Like, where are we had this?
Where are you? So it's, uh, it's up the 17th. I have so.
Oh, Spiros. Go to Spiros.
Yeah. Right across from Spiro. Yeah. That's, uh, you're okay.
Literally. You bring us Spiros. Great to Lebanese joint nearby too. Oh.
So they got some, I just don't know the surroundings yet. Like there's a great Italian
place or like in the same building that I finally got.
try it's awesome but um yeah it's uh in studio for road games few i we're doing some watch parties
and stuff like that around the city that's gonna happen and and start to rolling out a little bit
later on this month i think but in studio i got i got to start like i say it and it never happens
but like you know you're supposed to meal prep you like make yourself uh you do like five meals
and then you know i've never done it in my life but one day one day i'll give me all right how could
you do that pat when you don't know what you feel like
Yeah, it's true.
And I'm a very, I'm a very picky eater sometimes.
I don't want to eat chicken barm for a fifth straight day.
I don't really want these, these vegetables.
You're just to move in together.
What I was, what I was always led to believe from the rocket was, yeah,
Pat's got his boiled chicken breast and his simple hopped.
Well, when I first started like the first, I don't know,
the first like seven years I worked with you, I still lived at home.
So I did.
So I get my mom.
That's right.
to get off that. That's not a bad move either
today's world. I tell
anybody going into broadcasting
now, I'm like, do not, if you can stay,
if you, if you can tolerate
your folks and you like, it's
not making you want to rip your hair out,
like you don't need to move out.
Live at home. Just stay, live at home.
And also don't take up broadcasting as a career.
Yeah, there's no such thing anymore.
I'm, I maybe counsel people away from that
as well. Maybe you should go
into pharmacy. Maybe that is the way to go.
Okay, so what I'm going to do, because I,
I know you're part of the,
you're with the rights holders now,
as you always have been,
but you're part of the rights holders.
And so that means you're kind of part of the team.
And you're just kind of give me one of these.
Uh-oh.
When you,
when you feel a win.
Okay.
Tonight in Anaheim,
Thursday in Vegas.
Okay,
you know what?
Oh,
that came quicker than I thought.
I love it.
I love it.
I mean,
they got to win at some point,
okay,
if they don't win tonight.
And I,
I'm with you.
you know they got a
they're gonna mix one in
and everybody's gonna look at the record in
Vegas well it's been way better of late
I'm still very meh on
on Vegas and
yeah I think that they've had much better
efforts in that building over the last couple of years
all right yeah so there's a team
you're gonna overlook if you're Vegas it's
the winless look at this lineup
on the whiteboard maybe we go for bottle
service the night before Calgary Flames
and tell we're the worst bunch of losers
we could be in
for the game Thursday.
Then Metallica plays
it's a sphere on Saturday, Pat.
And then my beloved bills
play the Raiders on Sunday.
Like, what do we do?
It's not too late.
What are we doing?
Get going.
Instead of we're going to have a goddamn
parent party?
Thank you, Patrick.
Bye, boys. Enjoy the parent party.
Give us the, so every afternoon.
Shut up, Pat. Every afternoon, what do we?
Tell us both plays now.
Fortil six.
every day.
We got great insiders.
We got the Barnburner boys on Thursday.
Yeah, 4 till 6.
He's dying to go on.
Red says every week he wants his own slot.
Hey, we'd love to have Red on.
I'd reach out, Pat.
I'd do it for you because I like you.
Some of these other people.
There you go.
4-0-6.
Plames now.
Tom, wherever you get your podcast.
Bye, boys.
Thank you, Patrick.
There you go, Pat's time.

Jack, actually, I need a favor.
Sure.
On Friday.
Can you bring some drunk losers over and start fights so I have to kick everybody out?
Oh, yeah, we can probably, Matt is right in his wheelhouse.
To your house, not here.
No, no.
I got the parent party.
You come in, start peeking some parents say their kids are shitty.
They'll start tossing them.
You don't even have to ask them.
Just get them to show up.
They'll be pissing on tires, vehicles in the driveway.
Then he won't leave.
The nice thing about Red is, is he does not need, like, you're just like, oh, man,
what are these people going to leave?
I'm getting kind of tired.
I just want to go.
He'll just go to bed.
Did you just smoke.
See you.
I assume people are going to steal too much if I just go to bed.
So go ahead.
Buy more.
You've been on, that's, how long has that been?
That's 20, 30 years now.
That's kind of been your way of doing things.
You got to know your own, you know, you got to know your, uh, your limits.
The people in your midst.
Not like, yeah, the three year old.
Why do you have to act that way?
So you went to the game with your kids and they kicked them out of the car and you went and got pissed.
What's wrong with you?
What you're talking about?
No, I'm making up start.
I'm sure that's happening.
What night is this?
Yeah, which that was not.
the most reason. Two weeks ago.
What was the wonton soup? It looked good.
I'm telling you, man. You gave me some heat
when I told you. The FCA is the best record.
I didn't give you a historic. I get it.
But like the restaurants dialed.
Like,
they have a sheet. The arcade game of the kids.
It's like let them run. Give them a pile of loonies.
But that wasn't the question. And you know,
the wonton soup was great. Awesome.
I like wanton suits.
Yeah.
When we lost Kings.
I know Kings was so good.
I'll never get over.
Start booms and just do it with buns and want.
I don't want,
but that's soup.
Jack,
there was a wonton soup.
By the old dump we used to work out.
It was called King's Restaurant.
They had the wanton soup.
It was so good.
And it's in this industrial part of town and there's the big semis driving.
You're like,
where is this?
Then they open another location.
Yeah,
they had a couple different locations and then.
Just gone.
COVID.
Was it COVID?
Probably.
Damn COVID.
Well, I think the lady, she was like, I'm done.
I've done this a lot for many, many years.
and I'm just you yelled at her.
No, I read her clothes online
because again, am I going to get my soup?
Broke a lot of people's hearts.
She broke hearts.
Yeah. Yeah.

I saw the Donali Yukon sweet, hey?
Yeah.
You've heard about the $99.
lease. That is a real thing. They've got massive inventory, competitive pricing, and a team that
knows how to keep it simple. Winter roads are coming. Are you ready for them? They're ready to
make you ready for them. Okay. Kind of work, right? It's no nonsense. It's just the way Calgary likes it.
Capitalchev.ca. 13103 Lake Fraser Drive. Part of the Capital Automotive group. It even says
it in the name. Capital Chef. See it right there.
There go. That's the one. Right there. Capitalchev.com.com.ca.ca.com.com.
Did they send you that, Jack, to use?
Or did you make that?
The graphic on the screen?
That right there?
They send the assets and then someone makes it.
Not me.
I figured.
Someone's saying there's still, uh, the one, they're still got a one look,
King's location.
No, no, that wing shop is shut down.
Oh, stop.
So, uh, is told the, no.
Uh, are you spreading false information?
I don't believe I am.
I'm going to, okay.
17th,000th episode of one.
Single shots of Dean, uh, Jack.
Jack, while we do our detective work.
Kings.
What's it called?
Kings, uh,
wanton.
Just Kings War Wantan, yeah.
Let's see.
Look at that.
Do you know what war wanton is, Jack?
No.
I have no idea.
It's like, it's a,
it's a bowl of soup.
Yeah, I got a big bucket of soup.
It's a big bowl of soup.
It's got like broccoli and carrots.
And then they got these wantons in there.
It's exactly what you would think the wanton would be.
But they've also got, they had like a hot,
like a hot sauce, like a hot oil that you
could put in there. I don't think I've ever had wanton soup. Did you see the picture of Ross
like, I was like, I did see the photo. Were you like, that looks good or you're like, what is this?
Yeah, it wouldn't be the first thing I ever get, but I'll say this. I've had some people,
oh, have you had it here at this place? It's the best and I've had it and it's not the best. It's not the
best. It's not the best. I feel like any wanton soup is decent, though. I love it. Sure. Yeah. And we're
heading into soup season. Oh, we're in it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. Lost on the windshield, it's soup season.
I get the feeling that this guy over there
has a few food
inadequacies
for lack of a better word.
Tell me about him.
Like he's not culture. He has anything.
When do you eat your first
piece of food in the day? I don't care about that.
I'm saying that his palate is terrible.
I remember ordering pizza
and he was like, is that a vegetable? I can't
eat that.
How old are you?
Now he's never had wanton soup.
You a beige ofore jack? You just have mac and
cheese and bread? Like what are you doing?
I eat a lot of steak, a lot of chicken, a lot of rice.
I don't, yeah, I'm not like super creative.
I stick to the same sort of.
Seyneberg.
Yeah.
Jamie McClennon.
Yeah.
That's all right, I guess.
No, it's not.
Like, if you want many good things out there.
You can expand to Horizons, Jack.
Like, if you went out for lunch, say to like the Garrison down the street, they got a massive menu.
Yeah.
What would you, what's your go to?
The fish and chips.
I was craving that.
Which is not a bad move there.
It's not.
I don't think that's a good example of the test.
No, I didn't.
He survived that one.
Yes.
Yeah.
We get tougher quizzing.
We should go to the order.
Like order.
You do that for it.
I've been there for a day.
While we have Jack on Mike, he's going to do a little something for us.
He's not happy about it.
But, uh, well, we have an announcement.
And I've, I've given him the script.
I'll give you some help with it on, on this side if you need help.
Yes, please.
But, uh, we have something here and, uh, Jack, I just, you know, Jack kind of sits back there.
He's like Middleton.
You got to contribute a little more.
I'm trying here.
This is kind of something special, so I wanted Jack to be a part of it.
I'll give you help if need me.
Beautiful, ready?
Yeah.

Barnburner Vacation
2027.
as we go to Montreal.
Bell Center, Saturday night, flames, and Canadians.
So there you see it.
The Expedia cruise is helping us out.
They helped us with the trip to Nashville.
Yes, they did a great show.
I think they actually, they may have been on board for the other one as well.
Anyway, we are flying direct to Montreal.
Two nights, three days, Friday night, Saturday night, go to the game, Sunday fly home.
We've got a little, I mean, there's, there's things to do in Montreal on a Friday night.
Jack, have you been to Montreal?
I have not been.
Jack, have you been to Europe?
I have been to Europe, yes.
Okay.
Jack Trial is, it's a terrific city.
They have, I mean, St. Catherine's where the old forum used to be.
There are bars galore in that part of the city.
You can go, I mean, there's the big.
Oh, it's a, it's a wonderful city.
I've only been there maybe once, but not not often.
Not enough, right?
You went for the draft.
Went for the draft.
And it is great.
It's putteen.
It's smoked meat.
It's unbelievable food.
Bars are open late.
And I think, as we've seen, that rink is a special place.
Now, it's a game in January.
But if there's a rink in January that can be special.
Saturday night.
We watched a game in January from a pub and it felt like the rink was going to.
The guy on the goal horn let it ring for about 20 seconds.
And I understand.
Might take Doug.
My understanding is.
Habs fans can also buy tickets if they're so inclined.
So nation experiences.ca,
I suppose is where you need to go on that.
Very good.
And there's a bunch of different tiers.
Like there's the all in.
There's single occupancy, double occupancy.
There's also, hey, do you just want to,
are you going to happen to be in Montreal?
And you just, you're a fan of the show in Montreal.
Yeah.
There's packages with flights, without flights, without hotel.
They've done it up real,
good for us. And it's going to be quick and dirty. And we had other options that
here's the thing. We're going to Montreal. We're going to spend Canadian dough.
We kind of wanted to keep the cost down as much as we could on this. And that's how it's
going to go. So you go to nation experiences.com.com. Bon voyage baby. Now, is Bon voyage? I guess that's
Bon voyage. It's kind of like a ship thing. It's like, well, we're traveling. We're traveling,
I suppose.
There's water near Montreal.
There is water near Montreal.
I had my first crock madame in in Montreal.
It was delisier.
Hard to argue with.
Yeah.
The food is so good.
The nightlife's unbelievable.
The nightlife is unbelievable.
Jack's going to be ripping menthols in no time.
I'm so excited.
I'm worried about Jack.
Well, I know on the last trip, we went to Nashville and we had a guy have to come back home midway through.
Right.
Like didn't make.
Oh, dear.
I want I this feels like something similar so there you go Friday we arrive in Montreal
we will get to the hotel that'll be the old one of the bag chucker yep chuck the bags and
head out on the town Saturday the game that night and it's just it truly is it's it's a fun
amazing city if you're into history at all it it does it feels like a like a European there
yes it's the closest you can get to Europe in
North America.
No, Quebec City.
Well, sure.
Yeah.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Smaller, but yes.
You're in that neck of the woods.
Uh, and Jack, we're going to find an amazing pub and just absolutely blot out on NFL
football Sunday morning before our flight back.
Beautiful side.
Do you know when the flights are?
Yeah.
I'd be, I do.
Yeah.
Wow.
You're in big on those.
I was going to say, because I'm probably going to have to go to Buffalo.
Well, five hour drive.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You never know.
Never know.
Well, you can do that, uh, without the flight package.
It's perfect.
sure i'm really excited montreal's one of the great cities one of the great and it's a weird one right
because i think everybody's been to toronto sure right but to get to montreal is i think there's a lot
of people that have not gone to belsa i've been to bell i've not been for a game i was there for the
draft this is bucket list we're gonna start off right off the hop here what's that don't take a
bag carry on only carry on only is probably a good idea damn baggage carousel for five
Well, it's probably a decent.
Well, Red's just going to be gone.
In fairness, you scared a lot of people last time.
They ended up not taking bags because, well, Red was saying not to take a bag.
Wallet, how did it turn out?
Well, some people still were our bags and we waited for an ass with.
At least an hour.
It was way more than that.
Which was nothing to do with the people that booked our.
No.
That's to do with the government.
It was the airport.
We couldn't get our bags.
Anyway.
Just getting an Uber, the moment you land.
You can be, don't you worry.
I'm not worried about you.
So we are, we're pumped about it.
it's been in the works.
Thanks to everybody with the,
the nation offices who
put a lot of,
I mean,
there's some back and forth.
I'm glad we arrived here,

I am happy.
This is,
this felt like a good choice.
And I'm excited for it.
So get you,

Oh my goodness.

I'm sure he'll be down.

Does he speak French?
Oh.

No, I don't know French at all.
I didn't learn French.
And no, the elementary school, junior high school?
Private schooling.
No, no French.
Yeah, well, pay for private.

Yeah, we have to start doing it in both our national.

All right, let's move to Daily Face Off, Calgary
where the writers are writing.
What's the lead today? What have we gone?
Well, probably that last game against the ducks.
That's a game day today.
It's a game day today.
But as we look back, there's Piker still in search of their first win.
Good showing us.
I think that's probably fair.
So positive.
Way to be, bud.
Yeah, it depends if you have like good as a five out of ten or good as a seven.
Yeah, how good is a fair.
It was a good show.
They were.
It was close.
They didn't get the win.
It was an ethical loss for the first time in a while.
I'll say this, that guy there that was the, you saw there with the puck that Coronado.
I have liked him.
I've liked him as well.
Yep.
I like, like Sunniam.
this is quite a little run
when you look back at the preseason,
which means nothing.
But where he was,
what the ceiling is,
you haven't been disappointed.
There's a third round pick
that they got in the Tafoli deal
way back at that 2023 draft in Nashville.
He's had success everywhere,
and he's up already.
I'm impressed.
And we always knew that Coronado,
yeah, guy can shoot the puck.
It's almost by default.
He's being forced to have to make some plays.
And he has, yeah.
If someone's going to make some plays,
you're going to be one of the guys.
He makes the nice little chip.
He makes the nice little tip.
He has the pass.
The soon he has on that goal.
He's been,
I've been happy with what I've seen.
Leads the team with three points.
Well, yeah,
I mean,
it's more than you.
It's more than you.
He's played well.
Let's keep moving.
Bad news on the Hansik front.
Another injury four years in a row,
a significant injury,
including his draft year,
the year after he was drafted his first pro year.
And yeah,
this year as well,
let's hope this one isn't long term.
There's a lot to like here,
aside from his track record with health.
So you hope it's a phase.
I would say there's not a lot to like, and that's the problem.
There's a little to like.
Yeah, in terms of what you've actually seen at the initial level, that's totally fair.
Availability is important.
When you're hurt, you can't be contributing to the team.
Let's hope it's a small and one-off absence this season.
We'll keep moving the schedule ahead.
You played the game with Pat where he touches his nose.
I mean, they're not bad teams coming in.
you go to the Ducks
who will be without Cutter Goce
who got hurt on Saturday.
We're expecting the debut
of Roger McQueen.
Saskatoon boy played for the Brandon
Week King, 6-6-205,
year Providence last year,
10th overall in the 25 draft.
Four games in the American League.
He's got three goals on 10 shots.
Certainly look like Palin got hurt on that crash.
Palings hurt as well.
And McQueen is a
massive centerman that dealt with some head.
health issues earlier, but a good healthy campaign last year in college.
So look for that as a Western Canadian makes their debut tonight against the flames.
Lines for both sides.
Here's what they are projecting.
I think the McQueen News was very late this morning.
We'll probably see him sub in for someone there.
Nikita Kluppov, you're seeing at Third Line Center for the Ducks.
He's 15th overall last year.
Yeah, made the team.
That's impressive.
And yeah, Leo Carlson was great on Saturday.
notice them all the time. The thing I noticed is going to be a star. What I know is you had kind of
talked about it was the departures that you saw off the Ducks blue line from a year ago. They had
this great series against Edmonton and that. And you could know, it was noticeable the
other night. It's like Warren and Hines. Okay. And Luno's got the contract. And if he hadn't
signed that contract, I don't know that I, he didn't know a whole lot of bottom. It's like,
this is, they don't have Truba. Truba and Gudis. And Guis. Because those guys,
weren't perfect, but they were absolutely
NHL defensemen and they brought an element to the game. They're both
very physical guys, right? Yes.
And it was, I think they wanted to keep them.
But when they knew they were headed
down to a potential offer sheet
summer, it's like, we can't
hamstring our budget because we're going to have to match
a Leo Carlson. The problem was they thought it'd be
at 15, not 18.
Yeah. We'll see how it goes.
They did see Huso on the weekend
because they played the night before, I believe in Winnipeg
and it was Dostal. Maybe you see Dostal, their number
one tonight. And I imagine
the rotation keeps rotating because no one's got a win yet and wolf was fine but certainly not
a star on Saturday back to Cooley sure I would assume yeah unless you want to yeah I don't know
it's not worth debating it's like it's just I I'm not until someone wants to win I'm not
given you a new or as a star like let's just keep rotate I just wonder if it going into a goal he's
heading it I'm certainly not that if you want wolf to start playing better does he need to play some
consecutive starts to get into a, I don't know.
I don't know either.
Whatever Wolf needs to get on track, sure, but also,
Cooley's given you the best chance to win this year.
You could argue with the Vancouver game, 1-0 through 40.
We'll keep going.
The odds for tonight's contest, ducks are favored.
And even their puck line, minus one and a half is plus one in there.
So what we see is a close game?
Is it another blowout?
Do the flames have the third period?
They didn't get their first one of the year.
We'll see tonight.
A unique start time, I believe, 645 or 745, 745 because they're doing the big, we'll have the schedule.
Yeah, we're saying 752 on the, so that's puck drop.
So they're calling it a 745 puck drop.
Thank you for a start.
Finals last night, we'll jump into these.
Only three games on a Sunday, not a, or on a Monday, excuse me, a bad idea.
We had lots of TV top.
Could have used a little more hockey.
The first one was 11 a.m. start.
Buffalo, another couple points for Owen Power.
Miss Delian left.
Took a slap shot in the second and did not return.
Took a slap shot, like blocked a slap shot?
No, took one.
And then get you back up the ice.
You're like, ooh, he reached.
Oh, I've done that.
My oblique.
The obliques.
Could be an oblique.
Could be a back.
And our old friend, Jacob Markstrom,
two on 11 pulled in the first period.
Out of boy, Jake.
Out of boy, Jake.
UPL got the, came in as well,
because I believe it was Ellis, Colton Ellis.
they got the start. Both goalies were changed midway through this contest.
It was very unusual to see.
But, hey, matinee, maybe they slept down.
Dogs breakfast.
Sends have been very good, I believe, five, one and one to start the year.
Five and one for sure.
And congrats, by the way, to your boy, Brady Kachuk, first point of the season yesterday, Jack.
Very good.
All mark five and all.
He's allowed six goals in the five wins.
That'll get you there.
That's what they need.
That's what they didn't get last year.
And the Wilde got up three nothing through 20.
Vegas made it interesting.
but it was Minnesota beating the Golden Knights,
four to two.
Those are finals from last night.
4-1-1-1.
Good start for the wild.
And Matt Boldie finally got going.
He was held off to scorchet,
I think the first four games,
but a couple goals and a helper now.
Good player.
Keep moving.
Connor Bedard, good news.
If you're a Connor Bedard or a Conner-Bad fan
or a Chicago Blackhawks fan
or someone waiting to show
some signs of life from the Blackhawks.
Being reported in a lot of places,
but yes,
Baddard expected to make his debut tonight.
he was playing in a practicing
in a non-contact jersey over the weekend
doctor had to approve it but it sounds
like who's this guy
knows or does this guy
this is AI
this is a chat bot you've just
he's doing it Hawks podcast
so old Zach
Jerome
give Zach a call this could be
I know this is accurate seen it in some other spots
as well uh it looks like
very likely he makes his season debut
time wrong given the
captaincy as well.
So right.
First time you'll play
for the Blackwax as their captain.
Bad news for a different captain.
Go to Carolina.
Oh no.
Jordan Stahl.
Taring his calf like Dean at the
live stream.
You've had that.
It's not good, guys.
Unlike Stahl,
I did not miss significant time.
But perhaps being in an HL
center is more strenuous than
hosting a podcast.
Whatever the hell this is.
Yeah.
You've got to get down the hallway.
It's true.
Stairs.
A lot of stairs.
More stairs here than at that rank and rally.
I bet.
Terrible.
Not ideal, but if you're going to do it this time of year, I suppose.
Jordan Stall and Rod the Bond.
You mentioned Linus Olmark.
He's been sensational, undefeated start to the year.
Yes, it's early, but God was he miserable last year.
They could not get saves.
Every week we had news on, he's like, you know, they're actually pretty good.
They're just not getting the saves.
Is this the year of the Sends?
Well, Jack said they're cooked.
Hey, is this the year of the Sends?
Jack says, calm down.
Brady's gone, all marks back.
I don't overreact the wins and losses.
That's early in the system.
That's right.
Yeah, we've seen the Jack Cometer.
He's steady, Eddie.
Chill out.
Hey, let's just take a moment.
It's not overreact.
It's not overreact.
Hey, I'm going to need like three laps of this tune here.
We have all the games.
Every single team in the NHL is playing tonight.
Good.
Yes, great.
Fedosoff.
The Devils and the Wames.
Let's go to Florida Columbus.
Ray Whitney.
Excellent.
You're on a heater here.
Buffalo and...
Greg Ravey.
I'm just going to say Ravey's welcome much, y'all.
Washington, Carolina.
Don't know.
Not the...
Chadler Rose.
Alex Semen.
Semen.
Seaman, nice.
Seattle Philly.
Stupid.
Seattle's only screwing us here.
Seattle.
Seattle always scribes us up.
Just going to be feeling some momentum.
we had great momentum.
It's such good momentum. Let's skip it and we'll come back to
Skip it. Tampa and the Rangers.
Barry St. Louis. J.T. Miller.
J.T. Miller. Yeah, sure.
Blues and
Senators.
Oh, there was a guy who wanted.
We did this one.
Jim Campbell.
Whoa. Did Jim Campbell play for the Sends though?
Did you shut up? I'm sorry. I know what you're saying,
but I don't know that I'm going to find out.
I feel like there's a good.
goal like a tug nut or somebody that
some kind of Damien Rhodes
Yeah yeah yeah yeah there would be
Did tuck play with the blues that might actually be in it
Well yeah like tugnut and Rhodes definitely played
Oh he played Montreal
On Ottawa
Sorry right
Oh tucknut you said
I don't know I just feel like there's got to be some
Fringy goalie
Yeah I know
Ron
Ottawa
Yeah
Not St Louis
No so
I wish
No one
Nope.
We can't skip this one.
There's no reason for us to skip it.
We're better than that.
I'm keyed in on this
backup type goalie.
I've got the same vibes you have here.
Dostar Goli.
Freddie Brathaway.
Is Freddie in Ottawa?
Oh, yeah.
He was in St. Louis.
What was that for you?
Yeah, didn't he play with noodles?
That's a great pull.
Check it.
I'm checked.
Brathway.
And rarity points there as well.
That's an excellent work.
Is he answered in Ottawa?
Well, he said, yeah.
Red?
Nope.
Gonna need to be there.
It's going to be the great answer.
Damn it.
Ah.
This is awful.
Are you sure if Fred Brathaway doesn't?
No one.
I'm just all over the place.
I'm picking around.
Chris Phillips never played in San Luis.
No.
Like, did I, was it Wade Redden?
Because we've used this one before, and I think Redden played didn't.
I thought he went to the Rangers.
Well, he did.
Yeah.
Then he played with the Bruins at the end.
I think it was the Bruins at the time.
He was never in.
See, what's that?
Bloss?
St. Lutz.
Zach Smith?
Who uses?
I don't know who that is.
We need a death suit.
The hockey debate.
I know.
We're going to have to be made it.
I can tell you this.
Yeah.
Chat GBT's taking a while.
Claude is wrong.
Oh.
Are we missing a big one?
Wade Redden did.
Okay, Wade Redden, we're taking it.
Rondidale's.
Vancouver and the Islanders.
That's an easy bow Horvats.
Oh, there's some names we should have here.
I know.
Is there a Cortinal that played for both?
There was a little.
Teresankov.
Hoffman.
Mike Hoffman.
Elliot.
Brian Elliott.
That's the goal.
That was the guy.
Dean McCamond.
I would not have gotten that.
Okay.
Islanders.
We've got that one.
We've got that.
Yeah.
Can we go deeper?
Those are a little deeper?
We still got a bunch of games.
We have the style of games.
Let's just keep you.
Okay. Penguins, Blackhawks.
Folks, uh,
wild and jets.
Stassi, we did already.
Is it really all the whole status.
No, no, no, sorry.
It was a different set.
Well, that's a blues trick.
Bogosian.
You know, Nino Niederrater?
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
Colorado, Dallas.
Randon.
Dushane.
Yeah, okay.
There's two.
Vegas and Narshville.
Colin Smith just came open
James Neal
There you go
Oh, Jimmy got him
Marsa Shoe
Arsichshah Shamsha Shab
Leaves Mahmout
Leaves Mahmoud
Oh are we used
Because I was going to stay
Stetcher
Because you played in Arizona
Yep
But are we using Arizona
Because we moved them to Winnipeg
Oh
But remember we
Last week we talked about that
Yeah
Did the Jets now take it all
I think
I think we should keep
Arizona with them
And then the old Jets
Get to stay with the new Jets
but not the champ.
We really are,
but I think that's where they should do it.
There's other ones if we want them.
Like current mammoths?
We're not going to include Phoenix.
It gets tricky.
It gets very tricky.
If there's some dead.
That's so something.
Tricky.
Tricky.
We got one.
Calgary,
Anheim is a ton.
Let's go Robbneutemeyer.
Mike Leclair.
Oh, wow.
Jerky.
Boilers Kings.
Lubbo Wissnowski.
Well done.
Jared Stoll.
Wayne.
Boston San Jose
Another picture there was D Thornton
Sturm
Sturm
Wayne Primo
Let's get rid of Joe Thorin here
Yeah you know what
He's just showing signs
He's turning into start
But he's 21 probably over the hill
Let's go get first
Three middle of the roster players
For Joe Thornt
I'm not gonna
You know what
Because I'm only gonna say
And I'm not looking to
You know
He was actually there longer than I thought
In Boston
In Joe yeah
That was three years
He was there for one
one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight years.
And he'd turn the corner of them, right?
That's stunning, right?
That is, that is.
But he'd turn the corner.
Oh, yeah, he'd had a 36 goal season in 0, 2002,03.
Had 100 points that year.
Then the next year, 73 in 77.
That's even worse.
And then in 0506.
Because he actually looked like a superstar?
And you're like, no, let's get some.
Maybe he ordered to go, maybe we don't know the whole.
story.
Wow.
Because I'm with you.
It just feels like,
oh,
Joe Thornton,
he was like 21 and he just got there.
He was there a long time.
Go through those games back up,
Jack,
because we said we've come back to one.
Pull ourselves on.
I thought Joe Thornton, Jack.
Did you?
Did you?
Did you?
Really?
What are you thinking?
You probably did okay.
Oh, yeah.
Quite a bit older.
You were fine.
I don't know.
I think it was something happened.
I say you're quite a bit older than.
Maybe you're not.
What year did you come in 98?
I'm not that much old.
And you were,
And you were, came in in 96?
What year was he?
79.
Yeah.
Yeah, okay.
Just one year.
There you go.
Did we want to try to get Seattle, Philly?
Or does Seattle just get a puke?
That's the only reason that brought us back.
I know, I know, I know.
There will be someone.
There will.
There has to be somebody.
It'll be some weird defenseman.
Seattle, Philly.
way to go jack way to contribute i got one um do you no i said i got one oh that doesn't sound
like i don't have one for this now i have no idea um i'm just going at the rosters i just keep
thinking the expansion draft i'm like they did such a bad job of that most of these guys are
donsters did they get a reasonable play i think it's interesting when uh the ai takes this long
to figure if the yeah it's a small list
They agree with us.
You know what they're saying when you put this?
I can't believe they're asking.
Does Dave Haxdahl?
Pierre Edward Belmar.
Yeah.
Okay, sure.
Whatever.
Yeah, that's true.
I blame David Goyette.
I blame Seattle.
It's always their fault.
Danielle Goyette.
Carson Torrinsky.
Torrenzzi.
It's former heaven.
There you go.
Vegel League Baseball, boys.
We are in the thick of the championship series in the American and the National League.
The Cleveland's were down to nothing.
But Cleveland in the fifth inning is a different beast.
They pile up the runs, end up winning this one.
It is the opener that was at the trough in Tampa.
And keep in mind, they were down two games to none before rallying against the White Sox.
They've won four in a row.
They're on a heater rat.
Meanwhile, the brew crew of won two in a row.
Dongers had a bit of trouble.
Nice.
Yamamoto.
Yeah.
The robot was, you needed a software upgrade, because that's,
That's the only time I've ever seen him in the playoffs, not with dominant.
They chased him in what, the fourth inning or something?
Fifth inning?
It was a lot of all.
Brew crew.
Now listen.
Don't have this.
Don't do it.
Don't.
Don't.
Just don't.
Back to you, Ryan.
Has, uh, the stupidest thing I saw on the internet today.
The Dodgers want to lose to the purrs.
Because everyone's worried about these high payroll teams running the World Series.
And if they lose, it'll only be three payroll teams left.
And then they won't be in it.
really tough.
Luxure tax because they're negotiation.
Stupidest thing I've ever heard.
They're playing to win the games.
They're just getting beaten.
I don't feel like the guys in L.A.
If you look,
Otani's trying to hit well,
but he is ice cold.
He was last Homer in mid-August
and he's hitting like 188 since then.
I thought I read something that he's thinking about
not playing him in game three.
Yeah.
He's pulling a Guerrero.
I'd trade those guys.
I would rather see a Cleveland,
Miliwake.
I think that would be a hell of a series.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Get the raise out of there.
Yeah, raise you're born.
Dodgers were done with you.
Dodgers, we've seen you a lot.
Jack, I played hockey in the building the race playing.
Say that again.
I played hockey in the building the race playing.
Say that again.
Hockey.
NHL hockey was played in that arena.
Really?
Or whatever you want to call it?
Like just as a one-off or for?
No, that's where they used to play.
And they were building the rink.
And the rink's in a much better spot than that dot.
I think outside of,
say Pete?
outside of
outdoor games
probably the largest crowd ever
I believe it was
they had 30 some thousand in there
for a Philadelphia
Tampa Bay Lightning game
and it was an absolute
slug fest
guys were just
that was the lindra
oh yeah oh yeah that
vicious hockey vicious
uh game today
we saw the NL one game ahead of the AL
so we'll get the
all even Stephen today.
They got the only action.
It's Guardians at Rays.
Tampa's still favored,
but these are a scrappy group in Cleveland.
Now, if you're the Brewers,
because you said, don't screw this up.
Are you hoping for a good series?
It's the best of seven now,
or it's just like, get them out.
Don't, Dodgers.
Don't let them breathe.
Out.
Okay?
Yeah, just get them out.
Very good.
There are the odds for the only majorly baseball playoff game today.
Last night in the NFL,
they saved the best for last.
week five with an absolute
like cinema.
You couldn't write it.
You keep saying that.
It was a,
it was terrible.
It was not a good football game.
The finish to this contest was back and forth.
Entertaining football game.
Were there mistakes?
Yes.
Were there flags?
Yes.
Could you turn it off?
No.
It was unbelievable.
Yes.
A wildly entertaining finish.
And it was Josh Allen getting his first
overtime win ever.
Yo, well, how many?
He was 0 and 7.
It had the feeling of 0 and 8.
It felt like it should have been 0 and 8 many times.
Mevis has been a cut.
Oh, really?
The thicker kicker, he's out.
It was a big man.
McVeigh was hot after the game.
Lots of respect to the bills,
but you could tell, like steam out of his ears.
Look at the lead changes here.
I can't believe they missed that field goal.
The bills are winning,
and the Rams are winning,
and the Bills are winning,
and the Rams are winning.
Okay, you get the point.
Holy.
They had that amazing game two years ago.
Yes, two years ago.
And the Rams won.
Well, they said it was Allen had three running touchdowns and three passing.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Lost.
Yeah.
So in that respect, the result was very much in doubt.
The whole way throughout this game.
Those are all exchanges.
Yeah.
That's wild.
No, I see a lot of panic over the ramp.
Like two or three is not a good record.
They're supposed to be a super team, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Buka looked very good.
Stafford is still an incredible quarterback.
He's fine. And they have not got Garrett
on the field at the same time as Donald. The pass
will be better when they do that. So big, standing.
He's so big. He's a monster.
I don't even know what he is.
You're like, oh, that's a good size human.
He's a giant. What is in front of?
How do you get into a car? How do your shoulders fit into
anything? And he was hurt,
wasn't himself in the Australia game. He's been shut down since.
That was their opener against the Niners.
Well, that's tough division.
Niners look great.
Seattle's very good.
But there's got to be better days ahead for the Rams.
This is not a sub 500 team.
Yeah, it's odd that,
obviously they threw the,
they pulled it out of the fire against the Eagles.
They should have lost that one.
That was two weeks ago.
Your record is what you say it is.
It is.
They are two and three.
Jack, is there any way of getting that on?
Because this is what my kid's coach sent.
I'll grab it.
By the way,
did check the win-loss total at bet three six five for the rams today 10-and-a-half still so they have
they believe better days are ahead 10 and a half still that's well it's a lot of win we've already
got three losses they're the super bowl favorites are they not still they started the season though
i doubt they are now i think they still i think going into the week it was still the like buffalo
that was still the super bowl favorites i'll check right now it's easy enough on bet three six one
Pull it up.
Bet, 365.
So go down NFL, you cook on futures.
Yeah.
Rams plus 700 still at the top.
That's wild.
Yeah.
Wow.
Bill's plus 750.
Niners plus 750.
Nineers plus 750.
Ravens.
Lamar's up, but he'll give you back plus 800.
Then the Chiefs at plus 900.
When you look at the Rams,
Devante Adams is still very much in balls.
They run the ball.
Tight ends.
Higby was great when he wasn't taking penalties.
No, keep going.
I was going to say, out of all those teams,
I would bet less on the bills,
even though they're my heart and soul.
If I watch those teams play,
I'm going, well, their defense
can't stop anyone.
And they have no weapons.
Not now.
And so unless Josh, yeah,
he literally had to just keep the ball.
I think Coleman's okay.
And DJ Moore coming back will help them.
And Kincaid,
it's kind of a hit and miss,
had some big games.
I don't think Josh is throwing the ball well,
but I don't think he trusts the guys
he's throwing too over there.
Blah, blah, blah.
I don't, I'm not,
I think they can score.
points. I didn't realize that was the first
game DJ Morris missed, I believe in like four
years or his career or something last night. He's usually
really there. Well, they should have sat him after he got
hurt because he's been.
Now he'd be questionable in practice
all week. This.
Yes.
Oh, geez.
That's how that one felt, hey, Red?
Yeah. And that's the parent party bus in your driving?
That's what we're doing this weekend. Folks, get ready.
What's your address?
Something, something like
He'll be in the show description.
It's a chaparral.
Oh, that was the kid's coach.
So happy.
Yeah.
Good stuff.
Thursday night football.
Do we have a gem on our hands or is it going to be just okay?
I don't know because I don't know to feel about the Broncos.
I don't love the Broncos.
No, they're boring.
And they shouldn't be, but they are.
You're like, oh, Jalen Waddle.
You just wait till he, well, no.
Not if you've watched.
Oh, Jalen Wall is.
Watchman in Miami.
He's hurt all the time or doesn't.
I don't think Bonix is great.
I don't know.
Pat Bryant's out.
They're missing one of the most important.
It'll be terrible.
JSN is electric.
He's just unstoppable.
Bad drop, though.
Bad drop.
That's true.
You know what?
That was probably the game, wasn't it?
Yeah.
You don't do that very often.
Okay, there's your football story in south of the board,
north of the board of the stampators.
Oh, guys.
And the riders right there.
I don't want to talk.
Here's the thing, fellas.
They got one game left.
the bombers and the riders up too.
So you got to take care of business.
5 p.m. Saturday against B.C.
And I looked at Winnipeg and Saskatchewan.
You're like, well, geez, they got two games left.
Winnipeg's at Edmonton.
Look at them, 12 and 4.
Then they're at BC.
Good team.
Saskatchewan against Montreal.
Montreal's been unbelievable.
And then they get at Edmonton as well.
There's a window here for the stamps.
The only question there will be,
what are the elks and lions going to be putting on the field?
Very good question.
Having punched their ticket,
it's not going to be starters for the most part.
There's only so many people you can sit,
obviously,
but there's no real necessity for them to win.
It was a crushing defeat.
You win and you're in.
Now you need to get some help.
And what did you pull up by your bootstraps?
Is that what they pick them up by your something?
That's what Prince.
Oh,
sandwich.
You've got to win it.
There's still a chance at a crossover with some help.
So it's a must win.
But for the stamps, last home game of the season, tons on the line.
Just how we like it.
Let's go.
And again, still a chance they could go to the West Semifinal.
Like if you win and those teams against good opponents don't win there too.
We'll see how it unfold.
It's exciting two weeks to close out the CFL season to be sure.
That is your PIN to Report this Tuesday, October 13th.
I hate to be that guy, but winter tire season.
guys.
It's going to be nice this week.
It's going to be nice this week.
It's going to be nice this week.
We get up to time.
It's 20 degrees.
I don't mind that at all.
But we know it's inevitable.
Winter tires,
Honda expertise and a price you can feel good about.
That is a good combination.
Honda tire source at Village Honda is backed by Honda's
lowest tire price guarantee.
Drive with greater confidence
this winter and tire is designed to help
improve traction, braking and control

If you find a lower

They're going to match it.
Some exceptions do apply all the big brands.
Bill Chond, your dealership for life in the Northwest
Automol Amvic Licensed Dealership.
You mentioned the football game last eight.
It actually brought us our fan moment for Coca-Cola.
Amazing.
You can imagine what, Rhett and the shoveler, like sitting there watching the bills,
oh, on the edge of your seeds, got it down, up and down.
Swati palms.
Coca-Cola fan moment, a presentation, obviously, of Coca-Cola.
Being a fan is a commitment, the superstitions, the chance, the pacing, the standing through overtime because sitting just somehow feels wrong.
Whether you're making the climb up to the nosebleeds rallying your section to start the wave or keeping one eye on your game and another on the out of town scoreboard, true fandom puts in the work.
And every shift deserves a delicious ice cold Coca-Cola.
Ice-coal.
Fan work is thirsty work.
And this was, so you can imagine when it's your favorite team.
what if it's your favorite people out there on the field?
This is Mr.
Mr. Stafford and Mr. Allen are out there.
This is the wives.
That's Josh Allen's wife on the top.
That's Stafford's his daughter,
five, five.
Go!
All the emotions.
I get football fans.
They don't want to see this stuff.
But it was one of those games.
You saw how many lead changes there was.
This is the greatest.
This is the worst.
This is the greatest.
This is the worst.
This is the ultimate fan stuff right there.
As both the,
the ladies were living and dying.
This is like jack watching the Steelers.
They are on every single snap.
Just living and dying.
That one at the top there.
I think that's when Josh had the big,
that one last,
whatever was 21 yards or whatever.
Go Josh.
Let's sleep and go.
That's your fan moment for Coca-Cola.
Every shift deserves an ice cold.
Coca-Cola fan work is thirsty work.
A little bit of news at Anaheim, Ryan Pailing.
There's a timeline.
It's a sprained MCL 68 weeks.
He did get injured hitting that post on Saturday.
When the leg does that wippy thing,
oh, I don't like that.
Mine didn't even do that.
It still hurts.
You're just clunk.
People are feeling bad for the goalpost.
Jeez, just got those.
Poor net didn't see that comment.
Did you ever get?
That would be the worst is when you're,
going and then your pins get taken out and you're,
I'm going to fly right into the net or into the end, Boris.
I never got going that fast.
No.
I was careful.
Yeah.
I could skate faster, guys, but.
Honestly, safety first.
The one time he was in trouble,
Roman Turk took it on himself to get injured and bring Keperan.
That was a soft cushioning for red.
Guys, what if I fall down?
Can't get back off.
I could hurt myself.
It's a game day, which means
taco time. We've been talking about it for
Well, taco time.
They've taken a big step in, you know, you've got your kids.
You're going to, what are we going to eat between games, tournament, that sort of thing.
Oh, geez, we're having pizza.
Pizza's going to have pizza.
I want some tacos.
Tomato, some lettuce, some protein in there.
Hockey nights mean figuring out dinner, grabbing food before the rink or ordering in for the game.
There is the hockey night pack.
For just 20 bucks, you get two classic burrito combos.
It's two classic burritos, two regular mexy fries and two regular drinks built specifically for game nights.
available through this, the opening month of the NHL season.
You brought in Todd.
The Dill pickle was unbelievable.
So good.
Maxy fries.
And they've got the,
the puck drop deal as well.
It's on the go.
If you need more reason to go,
the regular deluxe maxi fries and regular drink,
just $7.
They got that for you as well.
Load up.
And it is Tuesday.
It's just a triple header.

Please play responsibly.
Oh, no. Oh, Jace.
Oh, no. That's a sad clown.
Two and three, I mean.
Because you bet against the bills, I guess.
You did bet for the Chargers.
They had a seven point lead in the late, like in the fourth.
They've had a 28 point lead in the playoffs. I've watched them.
I'll tell you what. I ordinarily can take or leave the Chargers.
Yeah.
That was one of the poorest performances
Watching Herbert in that
He's fumbled the ball.
He throws an interception.
He throws in it.
It's like they were trying to lose.
They knew.
They saw the show.
They were trying to screw you.
They wanted the makeup on.
Because I felt pretty okay for a plus three and a half
And they're up by seven.
Right.
You and I, right?
San Fran and Buffalo.
Perfect.
Locks.
Staking two are ruined my Atlanta pick two.
They were doing just fine.

Cleveland.
1712.
Hmm.
Vegas.
They're still Cleveland.
Vegas got destroyed.
Vegas got annihilated.
Does Drake may still suck?
I need the update there.
He's looking better.
He's looking better.
They were, remember you heard the coach talk in Brable.
It was like after that loss before they went one in Buffalo is like, oh, I don't know.
Like, oh boy, they're down.
And what's crazy.
Two wins since that Chicago Green Bay is.
Green Bay had a massive day.
And it still hit the under five.
Green Bay, yeah.
That's true.
That is true.
How many bombs did they toss in the hole?
My goodness.
They need to get Caleb by.
How about the end of that Philly checks Bill Gates?
So gross.
So gross.
Yeah, there was a lot of stupid this weekend.
The worst was the worst.
The worst.
The commanders was the worst.
Like your head coach in the NFL,
you figured maybe you'd run through some like clock scenarios and what we do if.
It's wild.
how many completely brain dead decisions are made
when the clock gets under two minutes.
Is it the coach?
Is it the quarter?
I don't know.
If you're the coach, you're telling them the play.
You've got no timeouts and the clock is running.
Fellas, it should be fairly straightforward.
I think it's on the quarterback.
One of the old linemen was like, yeah, we talked about it in the huddle before the play.
I think the coach didn't want to throw the quarterback under the bus.
He did it rip it out of bounds.
It's like rip it out of bounds or get up and spike.
so bad there was a shot from some fan had it on it was one of the old line like you say walk up feels like what the
are we doing oh man are we doing oh man are we doing oh he actually played pretty decently like he had some
big runs finman james james james so boy i can't handle it i can't handle it
you love james i love him when he's not on the field but he's on the field that drives you nuts
it's just turn over city and then he makes it's not that bad but he's not that good and he's like
There's a player
where he's like 10 yards downfield
and he's throwing a pump fake
in the DV.
Yeah.
Yeah. He's special.
There you go.
Bet 365.
I see the fun we're having?
You're a clown.
You make everybody laugh.
You know why?
It's because we're playing responsibly.
That's right.
Keep it fun.
B-18 or over in Alberta.
Bet 365.
Early payout.
That is nice.
I've not experienced it a ton, but when it does have,
I'm like, well, look.
Already does.
Nice.
Yeah, I'm still enjoying.
I got that on the wild game last night up three on a hundred early.
Like that.
Mm-hmm.
We don't, I mean, if it's going to take long then.
Big bit of this.
Super chats.
Kind of limping in on the week.
Everybody's a big day Friday and then had a big day Friday.
Is it triptophen?
It's a drug we need the trippy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Fels!
Oh dear.
Oh, no.
I just came back from a trip to Montreal with one of those Pinder viruses.
Unbelievable trip.
Let me say, today is a bad day to be a bowl of soup.
That's I can't read with fun.
Take care of yourself.
Yeah.
Jack, is that you're a burner?
I can't read it.
Soup and sleep.
No, you weren't much.
I can't read.
Yeah, the Pinder virus.
It'll take a common man.
it'll take you down.
A week's on the shelf.
Yeah.
I pender it, though.
But don't be afraid to go into work and spread it around.
You'll have a couple of.
Slop it off.
Make sure.
That's right.
So then the soup
gets crushed by everybody.
Jeremy.
So.
Every time the Flames have scored four,
they've won four.
They've won this year.
Also haven't been
shut out.
Shovel?
Uh, yeah.
For on a
multiple.
On a number of levels, that's
deserving.
Yeah.
Uh,
if you throw the you in there,
it'd be four as in one more than three,
one less than five when they've scored four goals.
They've won this year.
Um,
it's not your fault.
It's actually not true either.
It's not a loud wrong.
There,
there may be a loss in there.
We've not accounted for.
haven't paid that close attention.
Thank you, Jeremy.
Do we have a thought on tonight's game?
Loss.
Is that what you meant by a thought?
I just think like if you're,
if you're going to look at who they're playing on paper,
you're probably going to say loss like 84 times.
Like it's the worst team on paper.
But they are coming off their best performance.
And they are going to surprise some teams.
The teams are going to overlook them.
And they're going to have a night where their goalies better
the other roly. I could see them win it tonight.
I think the ducks are much better than
what they were the other night. I don't
like being put on the spot where we have to make
a prediction on a team that has a won.
Yeah. We are playing that game a bit.
Like you said, they're going to have to win
sometime. It'll happen.
I don't love it tonight.
You're without a cut or goche.
I know Pailing's not a huge piece.
We did talk about that. Never seen
those name bars on the bill. Yeah, yeah.
I'll say they pop the cherry tonight.
It feels to me like,
It might be one of those ones where Quinnville is like,
fellas.
Yeah.
Heads had a hoops.
Let's go.
Come on now.
Kevin Ball wants to run a guy after the first face off drop.
I'm okay with that too.
There's a hard hit.
Good start.
Big hit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Got SUNY rolling. Oh, yeah.
Huge flames for it.
Sunni rolling.
Jesus.
Yeah.
What do you think a Ducks fan thinks when they see the flames come to town and look at,
that's the full up the line up.
It's the frozen four.
Jack.
They think it.
what every team thinks when the last place
team rolls through. They're thinking, I wonder if
the ducks are going to try against this team because they probably
don't have. I sell these tickets.
Yeah. That's not nice, guys.
Yeah. Some poor ticket
broker in Anaheim just lost to sale of these. Thanks to
you, Red. You bastard.
They're probably thinking it'd be
my favorite team. The ducks are going to score a bunch of goals.
It could be a fun night.
Yeah. Yeah. Then the flames come in and
show them.
And if it is, if it is coolly, be better.
Leave your rabbit at home.
Oh, dear.
Do you think he has papers across the border?
Listen, I mean, everybody's just biting their tongue on this, right?
Some people like it, but no one on this show.
I don't know.
I've not bit my tongue.
Bringing your rabbit to the rink on a game day?
Look, if you're 10 and O and you got a 930, I'm going to let you do what you want.
I'm just going to say it becomes real easy to poke fun at you.
Yeah, you can be quirky.
and all that kind of stuff.
When you're winning games,
do whatever the hell you want,
where the same pair gets for a year.
I don't give a shit.
But the rabbit,
when you haven't won yet,
no.
And like,
and sorry you were saying on the game,
the guy keeps it light and all that.
It's,
it's easy when you're all in five
to be dreary and down and miserable.
That's easy.
The hard part is to keep it light
and to joke around in your,
he's probably not wrong.
Also kind of feels like a bit of show and tell.
Like,
like my pet,
everyone.
All that stuff.
This is where it's,
rap be careful okay well you know not to get them radioed here but you're the guy that says we got to
keep it light light is different than bragging you're a dork with bunny he said be careful
right like why do you have to go ahead announce it you got to announce it to the world that
i think the social media team likes it i don't know why that i
Again, he better be really effing good.
Yeah.
Tickle feathers.
Well, maybe Bugs hangs a zero than there.
Poe had, I still don't understand.
I don't.
Peter Mark, Peter Mark, Peter Mark.
Peter Mark, Peter Mark.
I'll tell you what.
Uh-oh.
If bugs had showed up like this, I sent Jack of another picture.
So I forgot to tell you.
Oh, dear.
On Sunday, we cooked the bird.
Yeah, the goose, the bird.
And my kid goes running downstairs and he needs to do something.
I don't know.
Turn on a video game, I'm sure.
And he starts yipping.
There's another dog.
You're an idiot.
Just shut up.
He's yelling at his brother to get down here.
I need your help.
At this little
squirly chihuahua looking thing.
It's in my backyard.
Come on.
And the Chunkmeister is out there with them.
Yeah, yeah.
Some corner, it's like, what are you?
Yeah.
Like, that thing's lucky.
He wasn't Thanksgiving dinner.
Yeah.
Yikes.
Send your, uh, the neighbors down.
Send her bugs over and we'll, or was he getting a little hot to draw it?
We'll have a play date with bugs.
You show dog?
Cute little thing.
This poor thing.
Oof.
It was not good.
I know.
Don't let your dog out.
How to get loose a little thing like that?
Is it your yard full?
yeah, but this thing
fits through the fence
Yeah, tiny.
Jack, how was the show today?
This is a very good show.
Oh, see, you did laugh at me.
The little stagger stutter you had there.
It was freaking
I like your French, Jack.
Yeah, it needs a little work.
I think we'll get there.
Good start.
Sure.
That time, you'll have a great accent
on the 22nd.
Yeah, and you go rolling into the Cheix parry.
The Shee Pari.
Do you know what the Shee Pari is?
Nope.
All right.
I've got a lot to learn.
It's a wontan soup.
Yeah, we love the ones.
I'm disappointed because I guess,
again, I've lost,
I feel like I've been there twice,
but it's a rib place.
It was called the Barbie barn.
Yeah.
And it's closed apparently.
Oh, dear.
So on line the Barbie barn.
It wasn't that good.
It was delicious.
Now, I remember we were there,
and it was the draft weekend.
and our Paul Holmgren
was there with the
whole Philadelphia Flyers
they had like 30 guys
on the one side of the restaurant there was another team
that they had it was like
that was just Schneider being cheap
but it was
it was delicious and I was
like I get back to the barbecue barbie
I am not going to Montreal and eating ribs
the hell are you talking about
listen I'm just telling you they're very good
I've been there
St. Louis
ribs Texas
Texas?
Rips.
Carolina.
Rips.
No, there's nothing to do
in Carolines.
Lots of pigs,
though.
We learned that a few weeks
ago.
Sturmy.
We can,
you know,
and we'll discuss it
over the coming weeks
as we get ready for
getting nation experiences.
Dot C.A.
To book your spot now.
Let's go.
Jack hated the show.
Yeah.
Oh, Jack.
What's going on tomorrow?
We have chronic again.
Do we want chronic again?
Yeah.
Let's get chronicians.
The Chronicles.
They were a big hit.
Yeah, the Chronicles.
He,
if you did a little art for him,
too. I'd like this show.
Yeah, Brett Cron will be on the show tomorrow.
Nice.
Jay McNeil later this week as well as the stamps.
It's the bar and burner bump.
What?
We'd have to tread light.
No.
Oh, let's get the wind. Let's go.
It's too, there's the stampeters.
And it's like, listen, the great cop's common.
Oh.
It'd be great.
We'd love for the staffs to be there.
Hell yeah.
But regardless, it's going to be a great week leading up to the game.
And that's the great.
Cup. Have you ever been to a
gray cup game, Jack? No, I haven't.
I'm telling you, there's thousands and thousands of people
who have never been to a Grey Cup game. And the one
thing about here, it's like, oh, it's in Winnipeg, wherever. It could be
bitterly cold. It could be nice. It could be a great day for football.
Yeah, it's going to be a great day. It's going to be a great day
for football. Go see the traveling glens, all the Kevin
glens. The festival is, uh, the festival's going over on at Stampede Park
to get the game. So it'll be
about that as well. It's like a week
party in in Calgary. It's his. I'm
It is.
There you go.
So that's coming up.
Well, Jack, hey to the show.
Hopefully you found it somewhat more enjoyable.
We'll be back tomorrow.
Great amounts to be.
Jack Lee.
See you.
Nice.
Announce.
