Starting point is 00:00:11 Let's get out there, boys. It is Barn Burner on a Thursday. It's a beautiful day out there. God, you know what? How nice is nice weather? They're really nice. Nice weather's pretty nice, eh? Day off?
Starting point is 00:00:27 Sounds like a day off. Short show. Short show. Thanks for watching everyone. Short short show. Yeah, nice, nice. Good to see you. What is with the kids and the short shorts?
Starting point is 00:00:37 Oh, short shorts. You got shoes are pushing the boundaries a little bit too much. Everything's short. We were down at a park in the city, swimming in the river, and it's just ass cheeks hanging out everywhere. That's just a style. In my old,
Starting point is 00:00:49 buddy, you're missing out. It was a great day yesterday. It's great to go visit when you got every idiot in their cat and dog and clown show running around your front yard. Puking on my front step. I'll just piss right here, I guess. I actually think you were probably just far enough
Starting point is 00:01:09 to not deal with that. I feel like you were a block away from being in trouble. It would perfectly look at. The parking would push down, but they all moved in the other direction. Oh, man. And I hate people. So, idiots. So short shorts.
Starting point is 00:01:22 This is a thing. Oh, Huh. Yeah. If you got them down to your knees, you're out of style, dude. That's that right. It's all nut huggers now. Yeah, like mid thigh, max.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Yeah. Especially when you sit down, hello. Check out the luggage. Oh, good to know. Yeah. Yeah. You'll look great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Yeah. Get one of my droopy balls hanging out. Also, a little more room for your calves to steal center stage. I was in the grocery store Tuesday, Monday. And I mean, I appreciate everybody, right? You appreciate everybody that listens to the show. I appreciate people, but there's a lot of stupid people. But no, no, this guy is not stupid.
Starting point is 00:02:02 But guys, you know, I'm getting some groceries. And guy kind of, he's like, hey, I just wanted to really like. like the show. Love the show. I'm listening right now. He had his headphones in. He's like, no, it's just real love the show. Caves are looking good, but. He wasn't talking about Calvary FC? He's talking about your, no, your calves. Yeah. LVS. LVS. Well, I mean, it's not wrong, but we had the life we live now being these celebrities on the YouTube's. Nothing is sacred. But to be fair, the Cavs conversation was it was a decade old. We had a couple over last night for dinner. And while they were leaving,
Starting point is 00:02:39 This is the new boyfriend. We had met him before. And I'm like, look at the fucking calves on that guy. It's like boomer. First thing comes in my hand. I guess what it was is there's more recognition now. Whereas if you listen to the radio show, you may not know what we look like or whatever. Here it's in your.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Yeah, lucky us. And lucky them, really. They get to look at us every day. And to be fair, how often do you leave your home anyway? Imagine if you did that regularly. I fucking hate it. Like, think about how much you'd be swamped if you left your home, you know, like a normal amount. Let's dig into this.
Starting point is 00:03:06 What's the problem with leaving your house? If it wasn't for that. people a hole coming in here at noon i'd be at home today oh they got to come in and sit down to do a one-on-one interview don't worry we'll give you a day at house in the summer um people are gonna who's this tower criesler studios tower criesler voted by the people as their favorite dodge ram dealer i have contacted search the people's champ oh what's going on there he says he's in the queue for uh hered
Starting point is 00:03:40 classic tickets. But it is true. That's that's today your pre-sale if you're season ticket holder. This morning. Serge, we've been discussing the state club. Is it in jeopardy given your new dietary choices? Is there growing concern among the group that the tradition is in jeopardy? He says, state club members are in talks right now, TBD. Stampede Week is when State Club 20203 begins.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I feel like this is kind of like the PGA. Like if the leader goes crazy, can you just have a mutiny? And like if certain is going no meat, he shouldn't be making state club decisions. They got to move on without them. It's called reclusing yourself. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:27 You got to recluse yourself. Sometimes if there's a conflict, you recluse yourself. Is that like Dean, a recluse? Like someone that stays at home? Is that the same word? I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I just, oh, the text. He's very happy. Tickets secured. Yes, he's very happy. He got himself some sales. Oh, good. That's good.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Did he get three for us? The alumni have access. Is there a note? What's this game with? When is it? Like October 29 or something like that? This is very early. How do you might be?
Starting point is 00:04:56 Well, because they did him in fucking November. Do you remember the first outdoor game in Edmonton? Yeah. It was like minus 27 and then the sunset. Ugh. Nightmare. Yeah, I avoided that one. I was it that one.
Starting point is 00:05:06 My brother's, oh, just wear jeans and it some kicks. I'm like, no, idiot. pretend you're going skiing. for a week where everything you own. Bob. He was young then. Smarter now. Dumb.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Idiot. Yeah, Bob. So yeah, Tower Chrysor Studios. Welcome to the Tower Chrysum Studios. State Club. Sugar-free. TBD. Sugar-free.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Yeah. I feel like the red meat thing is that's a leap to. That's two, you're going too far now. It's the most bioavailable nutrients you can get. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It is.
Starting point is 00:05:39 We'll talk more. meat coming up with Warner's weekend weather brought to you by Bonton meets. It is Thursday. We need to start making our barbecue, our grilling plans for the weekend. And I can tell you, you'd best be grilling because it's a humdinger of a weekend here in Calgary folks. Beautiful. I was in Bontone yesterday. Stop. I told him he's got to do it. Shut your mouth. We got rain Friday. There's no one is leaving. It's got to be front burner. Okay. But here again becomes the problem. the excitement level once you're through the door.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Going into Bon Ton. Through the room. What about? Oh, I got to get a meat pie. You got to get the beef ribs. Potato. Yeah. I got to get the, uh, the, uh, what do they call it?
Starting point is 00:06:29 The ribby where he ties it. Oh, boy. Baseball ribeye. Uh, no, I'm not going to be able to help you. I was going to say, I, I love going by the showcase just to see how egregiously thick they've cut the stakes. Yeah. It's like, good God, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, it's a
Starting point is 00:06:52 problem. part of the problem. The second part comes when you've consumed, you get into the vehicle and you start to consume it while you're trying to drive and you get, it's everywhere, it's a, it's a It's a disaster. It's not your car. You're making just an absolute fool of yourself. swerving around
Starting point is 00:07:12 banging into things yeah and then the other problem is you decide halfway home cave idiot put it away you'll survive until you get home and then you get home and then you absolutely bury what's left
Starting point is 00:07:27 yeah and then we could we talk about it and we like make jokes about it we need to sell tickets to have people watch ready because we can all relate to parts of it but certainly not the volume and quantity and the speed of the intake. I was going to say it's remarkable.
Starting point is 00:07:41 It would be kind of like buying a ticket to a Mike Tyson fight in its prime. It would be entertaining, but it goes very quick. And it's, there's a buzz in the air and people are like, I will never witness anything like that again in my life. There's incredible anticipation, but be sure you're not in the can. Be at your seat. Be at your seat. You might miss it.
Starting point is 00:08:00 It is October 29th, the outdoor game. Okay, great. So what? So like, because you see some people when they're on, they're driving, they got the dart going. It's like, geez, focus on the. Oh, you've got your dart going. You're doing all this one.
Starting point is 00:08:11 So you got what, like the beef rib? Is that what we're doing? Yeah. It's a Fredtron stone. Your elbow. Yeah, yeah. That's dripping. Like, ah, it's turned the napkins.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Then you're looking down. Oh, geez. You're right, though. There is that excitement walking through the doors at Bonton. There's the smell. There's the sound. All the staff in the back are all the eyes. You know what?
Starting point is 00:08:35 I noticed that somebody was missing. Oh? Oh. really fella the meat the meat head the meat head really absent that's pretty rare
Starting point is 00:08:49 maybe he's getting ready for that stampeter for a tailgate that he doesn't slow cooking a brisbee yeah that's right so hey you know what congratulations to Danny Austin got the new DA got the new live
Starting point is 00:09:03 live at 55 the new sports the new stampede I can't drive 55 that's right Sammy Hagar the new football show here at the Nation Network. Awesome. We're very sportsy. Very sporty.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Almost too sportsy if I could say so. Yeah, well, this, don't worry about this show being too sportsy for the time, for the next little stretch here. Yeah, that's fair. For all the boundary half,
Starting point is 00:09:25 we're going to get a corner and we're just going to talk about farts and sandwiches. I've got things I'd like to argue with you. I know, I know. He's a, you know what? Cape punching. Hands are up today.
Starting point is 00:09:36 He's ready. Hands are up. Yeah. Is any of it about sports? No. Good. Yeah. That's what I kind of figure.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I was going to ask a question about sports. Yeah. Who won the basketball game? The Nuggets. The Nuggets. And I think they covered that nice two and a half that we danced on yesterday. Yeah. They're good.
Starting point is 00:09:57 They're better than the heat. They are significantly better. And they had two triple doubles. Jamal Murray, the Canadian and the Joker. That's good. Very good. Never happened in a final before, I believe? That's rare air.
Starting point is 00:10:07 It's good. Dublin. Yeah. Dublin and Dublin? I'd go to Dublin. Oh, it's great. Guinness Brewery? Probably can't afford it.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Can't afford anything. It's the other thing I'm pissed off about today. Oh, no. We're keeping spirits high. Oh, good. We're not watching. Spirits are high. You're not glass half empty guy.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Back in your lane. Yeah. Even though, even though we did kind of start with the whole, you know, the Tower Crises of State Club being possibly in championship. Well, Well, but again, I think Serge, he's a responsible human and he feels responsible for it. But if he can't do it, he'll still support it. Just like not eating ice cream sandwiches, but still toss them around like Oprah.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And that's about support. Don't judge others if the rest of us want to have a beautiful steak sandwich. He's not preachy. He's doing his own thing. Oh, that's the thing. Do we know that's the case? Come along and have a salad. The rest of us can have the salad.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Hey, Dean, do you want to join my? Salad Club? Salad club. Yeah, I'm kind of busy. I didn't even tell you why it once. You don't make friends with salads. They? Yeah. So I just is he just not going to take part?
Starting point is 00:11:18 You've got him on the phone right there. I don't know what they're going to ask. I feel like he could be the commissioner. There's no conflicts of interest. He's a great organizer, administrator. Like, what is the holdup here? Let's. I mean, it sounds like it's a go in Stampede, or at least they're working over logistics of the season. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:36 He's at the ready here. What did you get at the old Bon Tonnes yesterday? What did he get? A shopping cart. That's what he got. The beef ribs, the prime rib. Or the rib, sorry, not prime rib. And the potato salad.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Yeah. A couple of pies. So he's here for at least nine of three days. So is that? I'll not leave until that's there. There's nothing in my fridge. There's a little bit in my fridge. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:05 I mean, if he has friends over, he could be gone tomorrow. I take that back. I might be gone tomorrow. I can't find a vehicle. Yeah. You can't find a rental vehicle. Is that what your... It's extremely difficult to find a vehicle in this town.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Any town, really. So what's happening? What's... I think what happened. This is a pre-show right here. Really deep stuff. During that shutdown. The old pandemico.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Shit wasn't going so good. Yeah. They, uh, I think the rental car companies dumped all the vehicles because people couldn't get cars. Well, and they weren't renting any vehicles. No, it was going anywhere. Why do we sell these fucking things? Now they're short and people are out and about again.
Starting point is 00:12:39 And let's say you wanted to go buy a car coming out. Oh, well, there's now supply chain issues. They typically don't buy one-offs, right? They buy fleets. That's right. They purchase fleets, Dean. So I think they're short. And they've jammed up the prices.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Like a son of it. That's what happens. Demands the same and supplies tight. So we should do less and make more. Yeah. You want to buy a rental car company? Feels like a decent time for that. The other thing that was they're not renting.
Starting point is 00:13:09 A thousand cars are only in a couple hundred because the fleet's smaller. So got to make more each vehicle. Yeah. That was boring. Yeah, it was. Do you see the comment we got in the chat in the chat here? Yeah, Jack will throw that back up there. One of our, uh, somebody on the old YouTube.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Somebody lost years. Went to Bontan. What is that low? Lou Dug. Lou Dog. Y, Y, C. Went to Bonton yesterday to finally see what the hype is about. Hot damn, that potato salad is great rich, but really damn good.
Starting point is 00:13:38 I guess I guess I, I don't really look through that lens. How rich is this? How many other potatoes? My thing with that potato salad, the other potato. I just find a very gummy and thick and heavy. I find this to be comparably quite light and not overly rich. I just like it.
Starting point is 00:14:01 It's so fucking good. Put me to bed last yesterday. It did. I tucked you in. Don't right, right? He was, he was hammered. night before so probably didn't get a good of sleep so he was ready to go early food hangover today went out on the deck yeah there's nothing better than laying in the sun
Starting point is 00:14:21 after you've had way too much to eat we had a patio beer down the block here yesterday at noon and then i was like i got about 35 minutes till the kids are done school coach nap 20 minutes so x gets the square like some wild animal that's just eating a gazelle and the Sarangetti. Oh, oh, that was too much. I don't regret it, but that was too much. Oh. Oh, how you doing, Dean?
Starting point is 00:14:51 We had some troubling news yesterday regarding the gout. Yeah, it's not good. Not ideal. So what is the worst you've had the gout and where are we now on that scale? Because you said it was like a decade ago or something crazy. Yeah, I have not had a flare up. Like I say, just kind of a, like a little, Tinge.
Starting point is 00:15:09 A little tinge of gout there. And then it just kind of goes away. That's normal. Had the tinge a couple days ago, then yesterday I said, it was two days ago? I said to you, I was like, geez, you know what? This isn't right. It's kind of coming on here. But because it hadn't been a full onset of gout, I didn't pay that close attention.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And then through the night, not last night, but two nights ago. Oh, yeah. It said, hey, fuck you, fat boy. We're back, baby. So it was, yeah, up at 2.30. he couldn't get back to sleep and just kind of with every with every heartbeat you felt the the pulsing of the friggin it's no good no and so where are we uh are we getting better we getting worse what's what what's what it's kind of a it depends where we're at in the medication cycle
Starting point is 00:15:57 right so i i took the pills and the pain all the pain relievers not long ago so it's okay right now but um shortly It won't be good. What do you think about a medically induced coma for the weekend? I might buy you some time. Can you drink your way through this? No, because that feeds the fire. Oh, BS.
Starting point is 00:16:20 You can't buy in all this medical crap, they tell you. Well, I mean, drinking a lot isn't going to make it better. Just make sure you drink water and go get an IV. There you go. Ivy and get hammered. It's what Dr. When you're parched, you don't drink salt water. Like when you're in the, don't drink the,
Starting point is 00:16:38 The ocean water does make things work. We're stuck out in the ocean in the middle of nowhere, paddling away. Yeah. You're thirsty? Don't drink the solid. But what if you just kept steadily drinking? No, you'll puke and die. Oh, dear.
Starting point is 00:16:50 I got a picture. I've got to send a jack. Speaking of this. Taken down by the goat. That's not how I thought I was going to go. All the things that could possibly throw me in the ground, I didn't think it was going to be my big toe. Shit.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I'm sorry about that, buddy. I agree with. You know, it was great is yesterday, I had my, without a doubt, the biggest, you're getting old day in all of my time on the place. Really? Yeah. Because I'm hobbling around on my big toe. I've got gout.
Starting point is 00:17:26 In addition to that, went to the hearing loss clinic for my hearing assessment. Yeah. And it's like, okay, so your eyes are bad. You got the gout. Yeah. And yeah, truly your hearing is leaving. We were talking about yesterday. At least you have your sense of taste and smell still, right?
Starting point is 00:17:44 Somewhat, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And this was a guy that used to wait with the old octogenarians for the garden center to open on Sunday mornings. That was peak old man boomer. You're right. That's right up there.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Yeah. You're waiting for the garden center to open on a weekend morning. No one young is doing. Jack, turn my headphones, my earphones done. I don't want to. No, it was. we took and we took the boys, took Tan Man, almost got Tyneman thrown in jail yesterday,
Starting point is 00:18:13 took the Tan Man and RJ and we did some video for it. So we'll have, I don't want it, no spoilers. We'll have the hearing loss clinic, the video for you in the coming days. Don't know what we found in there. Any wardrobe malfunctions? What was the highlight of it? Again, no spoilers. I was pleasantly surprised.
Starting point is 00:18:32 That was one of my concerns, less about how good is you hearing. and more about what you got in there, fellow. Yeah, yeah. I was told, very sanitary, very clean, chef's kiss. Really? Yeah. That's as good as it gets, the chef's kiss. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:49 And I think I'm ahead of the curve because you're not supposed to, and it was Hannah. She says, you really don't use the Q-tips. It's for the outer ear, really. Because if you have wax in there and you stick that thing in there, then you're just ramming it further down, further down. But I think I'm ahead of the curve. There's nothing.
Starting point is 00:19:04 There's so little in there if I just kind of keep going. She didn't say that. She absolutely said the opposite of that. But that's what I'm thinking. Interpret it how you will. I mean, we've got a couple of great doctor recommendations. Definitely use Q-tips in your ears and drink your way out of the gove.
Starting point is 00:19:17 That's right. So don't consult your physician. Just listen to Dr. Boom and Dr. Redd. If you're in the desert dying, keep drinking the salt water. I don't know where the salt water comes from in the desert.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Is there salt water in the desert? Well, I guess not so much the desert. Just they, I've never just never understood. If I just keep drinking, Okay, salt water, yeah, it's going to dehydrate you. But what if? But I'm so thirsty.
Starting point is 00:19:37 What if I keep drinking ocean water? Yeah. There's no ocean water in the desert. Whatever. You've never heard. You've never heard not to drink salt water when you're dehydrated. I've heard not to drink salt water if you're like in the middle of the ocean by yourself. Well, whatever.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I could see. Jesus nitpicky. But never when I was in the middle of the desert. Don't drink the ocean water when you're in the desert. I just think of being dehydrated in the desert. There are salty lakes in deserts because they get so much evaporation that salt builds up over time as the water disappears. So I see both sides. Remember Breaking Bad?
Starting point is 00:20:13 Yes. Saul and Buddy there in the desert when they're drinking their own pee. Would you ever? Oh, dear. I've never watched that show. Do you not see Breaking? Spoiler alert there? Is that what you just did to us?
Starting point is 00:20:22 It's like 10 years old. If all the spoilers you could give away on. No, I didn't know they were going to drink their own pee. Oh, you're ruined Breaking Bad. I never want to be in a position where I have to make this decision. Yeah. Like where am I going to go? I'm an old lazy bastard.
Starting point is 00:20:38 How am I going to get stuck out in the middle of somewhere? I was going to say, if he's like 17 years old and it's his draft year, he's totally drinking his pee, no sweat. But he's reached the top of the mountain. Here's what it is. You're getting old. You're going to lose your memory. You're going to be one of those guys like, hey, have you seen,
Starting point is 00:20:54 have you seen Rhett Warner? I take all my. We haven't seen him since Tuesday. You'll be like all friggin disoriented and out there somewhere. I'm where what the hell day? Where am I? I'm so thirsty. Then would you drink your pee?
Starting point is 00:21:07 No. You have to drink your pee to stay alive. That's what they say. It's die or drink your pee. You drink your goddamn pee. If you're peeing, you're probably hydrated. So you probably don't need to drink. What if you chilled it?
Starting point is 00:21:19 Oh, because I think it would be part of it is drinking the pee. But the other part is it would be warm pee? I think there's weirdos out there that drink it because they think it's good for you. That would be conspiracy. I can see you getting into. That's like the people that eat the placenta. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Jesus. Now, see, this is what happens. Boom gets a little to company with this. This is like when I got on the kiss count with my sister and he had a week of incest. Oh, he gets all. He has some, he's a weird take of things. It's different that.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Incest jokes. Come on. All of the above. Unnecessary. He gets all squeamish about this. I just don't think that people out there listening want to hear. Oh, you know what it is? Blame Conroy.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Hire a fucking coach. We'll talk about it. That's true. You want to drag your feet? on it. Connie? I'm talking about drinking piss. Yeah. Dr. Sparse. Listen, if you're familiar
Starting point is 00:22:13 with this show at all. This is an interesting rabbit hole has gone down. So yes. Anyway, thanks to Hannah. Travis wasn't there because like I said, I think he was. Is he Bonico? Where's F1 this? Montreal. In his bikini on the Riviera somewhere. But
Starting point is 00:22:29 we'll have that coming up. They have this room because they obviously have the different appointment rooms and you go and they have In the room they have been like a little almost like a cubicle. Unbelievable. You just, even without closing the door, you just sit in there and to hear how dead the sound is,
Starting point is 00:22:47 it's unbelievable. Come on down to Tower Crosier. We got some great deals on Saturday. We're going to ram the jam the ram. It was one of this recording booth. That's what it feels like. Your fucking family needs one, put you in there.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Or they sit in there and you shut the fuck up. That's impossible. There might be one or two, Pinder talks too much jokes in the fucking thing too. If you, uh, if you care. That's better than joke about me, kiss my sister. Hearingloss. Dot CA.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Well, that's not even funny anymore. All right. Let's go off. And hearing loss. dot CA. Hearing loss clinic. Up in the, uh,
Starting point is 00:23:16 have you been up in that university district? Right by the children's hospital in behind? Mm-hmm. Holy smoke. Massive development. Unreal up there. I had no idea. I have no reason to go there until yesterday to get my hearing one.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Yeah. A lot of time up there a year ago. Yeah, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. How about those nuggets? Nugs. 42 nugs.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Now you were talking about, are you putting the over under on Monday? Are you saying Monday? Oh, by the latest. I think, yeah, I think the decision will be made today, tomorrow at the latest, and they could announce if they want, but if it's like Connie,
Starting point is 00:23:55 it came out over the weekend, and they announced it when they got back to the work week. Flames coach is what we're alluding to, obviously. We talked about it, little bit yesterday. Did Frank have any? Because he only, the only real big takeaway was that he, it didn't feel like, Kirk Muller had been removed from the final round.
Starting point is 00:24:13 He had an interview. He didn't advance to the final round from what he was hearing. And then that probably means it's time for Kirk to be elsewhere. He was here to take over from Daryl. That was sort of the thought when you hired him. I think Daryl brought him here to be because Kirk, he's a fun, loving guy. Yeah, a little buffer there, right?
Starting point is 00:24:28 Now, that's the question I have because remember, we talked to Kurt. and he had no previous relationship with Darrell. Did Brad bring him in to help? No. I think Darry, I thought he said that Darrell reached out to him. Yeah. And whether, you know, the, Darrell said, hey, Darrell, give this guy a call. We'd like, or if it's Darrell's like, this is the perfect guy to be a buffer for me because I'm an asshole.
Starting point is 00:24:49 And they start going on. I don't know. I always wonder if there's, here's a list of guys. Who do you? Because if there's no relationship, I don't know how you just pull Kirk Muller out of thin air if you're Darrell. Maybe you do. I don't know. Well, he didn't pull my name on the thin air, and there was a relationship.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah, you're busy, though. Very busy. I didn't know what city you're living in. So, yeah, we're today's Thursday, Friday. Yeah. And I don't need to say Ryan Huska and Mitch Love again. We've talked about it all. Here's one thing that we can say.
Starting point is 00:25:18 It's nice that there's two internal candidates that we feel are strong candidates. You're not, like, squinting, trying to say, oh, maybe this will work with Don Hay or, you know, Pierre Paget or Greg Gilbert. hope it's not that at least. You'd never know. No, but at least it's like the belief is the reputation around the league for both these guys is that there'll be significant opportunity elsewhere if there isn't here. But remember, Don Hay, that was almost like a coup getting him. He was this illustrious junior coach that was finally going to.
Starting point is 00:25:49 What was Greg Gilbert? Like, again, this is way back. I'm trying to remember. It's just, there's a lot of first time high. He was like all of those guys had, they were kind of a sexy choice at the time coming from a league either below or just below the NHL. Like it's a lot closer one would be gulletson. Yeah, I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Yeah. Gully and Ward, it was like, oh, boy, I don't know if this ahead. Good assistance, but does this guy have, can he grab a room full of 25 million? Gully took over for Hart Hartley. Yeah. And he had, now how did that work? Because he was in Dallas. Was he an assistant?
Starting point is 00:26:26 Vancouver and assistant. Vancouver an assistant? Yeah. and was with Dallas prior correct yeah okay and then he's in Edmonton as an assistant well yeah um and ward was what an associate or an assistant in boston i want to say and then he came in after peters or to be an associate with peters and then took over when shit hit the fan with uh keem and rockford a decade prior right that whole shit storm so all right new coaches are no good till they're good it's totally it like frank said it yesterday it's like i was like if you want to play into the fears of
Starting point is 00:27:01 flames fans just remind them that it's likely they'll have another first time gym first time head coach he said look everyone's the first time at one point just it's got to be a good one and we don't know till they do it and i'm not suggesting this is a scary situation with connie because he's certainly paid his dues and i think he's a phenomenal collaborator i think this could work really well i agree that the coach could as well but it does sort of play into the series like it's still two first time guys. And there's been a lot of guys that have made those first time mistakes in this organization over the last 30 years. You're good till you're not good. Dan Bilesma. Dude, look here. Two years ago, Jack Adams winner last year fired. Same thing happened with Hartley,
Starting point is 00:27:40 the year after. Like, you couldn't have more opposite ends of the spectrum than what you just went through here in 24 months. It's happened twice in the last eight years in this organization alone. Bob Hartley, coach of the year, fired before they hired, before they presented the jazz. Adams again. That's now the same thing with Daryl. He is the reigning Jack Adams trophy winner. You said Dan Bilesma. He was coaching that Coachella Valley, HL affiliate of Seattle, if I'm correct. They've punched their ticket to the HL final. He's a guy that I think Seattle was smart to have there just, okay, well, your one wasn't great if we wanted to have an insurance policy of place. Got an HL team coming out this year. But my point was he coached in Pittsburgh,
Starting point is 00:28:21 won a cup was supposed to be great and then Dan Bilesma won a Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh before he ran a training camp. Wasn't there two guys in Jersey too? Like Robbie Votorik or someone else? Or was midseason they come in and win? We saw it with what Sullivan and Pittsburgh as well? Craig Groovy.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Wasn't that the situation there? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, because it was Mike Yo! They got gasped and he won a cup as an interim. Crazy. Just win games. Well, even the guy in Seattle. They hired.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Yeah, Dave Haxill had a tough going, Philly. And he was a long time North Dakota. guy and recruiting kids out of junior and convince them to come play in North Dakota is a very different job than running a room with mid 20s and we thought, well, it's not it. It's not for him. And you're one to see, oh, yeah, see, I didn't hire it. It didn't make sense. And this year, like, damn it,
Starting point is 00:29:04 he's probably a really good coach. All right there. You see St. Eugene on your screen. I'll get to that one. We're going out to St. Eugene like right away. I'm excited. Looking forward to it. St. Eugene, Cranbrook, British Columbia, beautiful spot, championship golf course, a casino, a spa, restaurants,
Starting point is 00:29:21 mountains, everything that you could possibly want all in one place. It is beautiful. Book in now, st. eugene.ca. Have a little stay, maybe a little nice little back massage. Hey, you'd like that, eh? Oh, yeah, nice little massage. And maybe, you know, swing the clubs, have a big steak. Put some money down. I just play some blackjack. Here's the thing. If you go out there, enjoy yourself, get away from it all. decompress or unplug. Except.
Starting point is 00:29:52 It's all right. We get separate rooms. I'll keep my distance. I'm going out there with this ass hat. Right? Oh, it's going to be great. By the time I'm high kicking in the lobby, you'll be tucked into bed.
Starting point is 00:30:09 I'll bring the speaker. I'll bring the speaker for you. We'll hammer some enia for you. Yeah, there was 15 of us. We were having a little get-together high-kicking in the. So if you go to St. Eugene, just don't go with Pinder. I'm supposed to go on this weekend with some buddies, but of course. Buddies, me and my buddies.
Starting point is 00:30:25 You got a lot of buddies. I love that. St. Eugene.uigne.ca is the website. Book yourself in. Looking forward to getting out there. A social horror. This is not to throw you under the bus, but one of your backpack items for a long time was sign and trade. It never happened. It never happens.
Starting point is 00:30:44 It never happens. And then Matthew Kachuk happened last year, sign and trade. And I wonder if this is going to be a trend because already Alex DeBrinke in Ottawa, sounds like they are not going to come to terms. Stunner. He's provided the list of teams. Wow. And for Ottawa, they are hoping, let's find a suitor. Let's get a deal done.
Starting point is 00:31:09 And we'll sign and trade because you get the eight years as opposed to seven years. are we and i wonder with pierre lupe dubois the all a lot of these guys who are r fas with high qualifying offers now to brinket much like a chuck is coming out of a deal 6.4 million aavs his qualifying offer for one year is nine million and then becomes ufa for dubois and winnipeg six million has been his contract now he has q o i believe is six so it's not it doesn't go up like that but still I wonder for some of these guys, a lot of these guys, it sure makes sense for the team trading. I'd rather get the most for this player that doesn't want to be here.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yep. Is this now on Vogue? Is this the way it? It could be. It always made sense that it should happen and it didn't. It was like offer sheets. Like, guys, hello, it's a tool in the toolkit. Use it.
Starting point is 00:32:05 It's that eight. And finally cheer living is seven. Right. And so for the team receiving it, like to Brick is 25. If that eighth year allows you to drive. up the EAV a touch. I'm into it. If he's 30, I don't want an eighth year.
Starting point is 00:32:16 But like he's fucking 25. He scored 40 goals twice. Yeah. Like this guy, if you put him in the right spot, is an absolute weapon. And I don't know if going back to Chicago, I'm playing with Connor Baderr wouldn't be an unreal thing. Whatever didn't work there, is it still there? Is it gone?
Starting point is 00:32:32 Like, there's no lot of guys that can say I've scored 40 in this league. He's one of them twice. Yeah. With Patrick Kane, but. I mean, but Bart is going to set him up just like that? the only playmaker in the National Hockey League. You see what? Down year 27.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Can you me? Does he feel like a guy, Rhett, that you'd want to have 8, 9 million? The only question I have is why is he, I didn't understand why they got rid of him in Chicago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:03 And then they're getting rid of it. I think to get Fadar. That's part of it. In hindsight, it was a pretty heavy strip down there in terms of like, Let's get rid of anyone who's good at hockey. Let's sign a bunch of guys on one-year deals and move him at the deadline. Like, Domi and I thought Athens-Eu was going to be that guy.
Starting point is 00:33:20 They just re-empt them for a couple of years. It was a major strip down. But even then it was like, wouldn't DeBrenka be a guy you could build around? Like trade Taves and Kane. And they eventually did one. But yeah, is there something we don't know here? Because it's now going to be his third team and his 26-year-old season. And he scored 40 twice.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Right. It's not the type of player. You just throw away. I'm not saying there is issues, but it makes you wonder. Yeah. think the auto, sorry, I think the Chicago thing was that. They were stripping it down. It was, how do you get a rebuild?
Starting point is 00:33:49 What do you do with Tane or Taves and Kane? The rebuild is so glaringly obvious. Yeah. Are you in or are you out? And it was probably, Brett, you talk about a lot, listen, cut. Don't put Band-Aids on it. Don't F around. get out.
Starting point is 00:34:04 I don't think it was a bad move, but so they, they stripped it down. I'm a little curious why Ottawa wouldn't. Oh, he doesn't want to be there. I think they added them and they like them. Yeah. Yeah. And Frank made a great point yesterday. If you're going to commit to Ottawa for the next seven or eight years,
Starting point is 00:34:20 who's my GM, who's my coach, who's my owner? None of those are clear with the murky ownership situation. Until that's sorted, he was saying some ownership groups already have handpicked coaches or at least have had conversation with coaches and GMs. Like Pierre Doran is not on solid footing. Neither is the head coach, DJ, uh, thank you. So if you're to brinket, what are you committing to?
Starting point is 00:34:42 There's no timetable for a rank yet. All that will become clear, but it might be after the time where he's got to make a decision. Do you ever have that kind of a guarantee, though? I guess ownership. But if you're going to sign an eight-year deal, you don't sign it.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Now I know who my GM and coach are. I would be looking at the team. Like, he played there for a year. Did you like playing with these guys? It looked like they liked. Young bunch of kids. Like, I just feel like this has always been a guy that's been an incredibly talented young American
Starting point is 00:35:10 who I just, all we saw being in a big market where he could be the star and canada Ontario ain't that and they will be an auto at some point but again when like we'll have an ETA on the flames right pretty quick concerned that I'm not and I'm not saying you're wrong who did we talk about the other well Matthews we discussed now he said Toronto it's hard to get bigger city than that but all these guys like is that to take all these guys have to play in I would put Toronto and auto so far apart on the spectrum I know but
Starting point is 00:35:41 But you're saying is kids want to play in these. Like you look at that list. Dubois made it pretty clear. He's not unsure. Right? Yeah, because he's the other guy. He clearly doesn't want to be in Winnipeg. And then the flip side is a guy like Johnny goes in signs of Columbus,
Starting point is 00:35:54 which obviously wasn't priority one. But like, yeah, it's, I don't know if it's a trend or if it's just some things that are happening. Winnipeg's never been a sexy market. Ottawa hasn't. It may be soon. I wonder just because I'm just pulling it out. It still doesn't sit right. The whole Johnny thing.
Starting point is 00:36:10 if he knew when he makes that phone call to Trilliving to say he's out the day before free agency, if you said to him, I bet you sign in Columbus tomorrow, what he would have said to you. You'd laugh at you. I'm going to Philly. I'm going to Jersey. I'm going to say, I'm Columbus. How the hell am I going to end up in Columbus?
Starting point is 00:36:30 That's a great question, John. We've had a great sort of, I think, learning about the Flames perspective on that. I would still love to get to what the hell was Johnny. expecting to happen July 1 that didn't happen because Columbus was a oh my gosh like we're in this 15 years we'll get that answer right yeah totally stowfully so anyway yeah it's just to see the the notion of the sign and trade i like it that's the other thing you got if you want de brinket i obviously we saw why florida did what they did for kachuk de brinkett is not in that class now he's a he can be a elite goal score. Would you put them in the same
Starting point is 00:37:11 a year ago or not? In what? A year ago? No. Because obviously Kachuk just had a monster year, right? And we're thinking about it. I don't. I just, it's because we're close to it. I just felt like Kachuk's going to be, he's going to be a star. He has, he's, he's smart, gets points,
Starting point is 00:37:27 agitator, that whole thing. I find DeBringk it to be more one dimensional. Now you pay for that one dimension. It's a great dimension to have. I guess you have to want the play. You have to to the tune that you're going to lock in for eight years at a big number and give up assets to get him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Florida said, yeah, we'll do it. Here's nine million. Here's two big pieces and whatever. First rounder out of the door. And all of it. We're in. Is there a team that would see DeBinkett similarly? I think absolutely.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Yeah. And I don't know what's Columbus because they got lots of wingers. Like you got your line in Goodrow. They need a center. But it's a, but it's a team like that, right? Well, I'm just trying to take it. to jump from that. We're coming out of the rebuild. And there we are. The only reason
Starting point is 00:38:13 I was looking at Columbus, this is a weird team. They made signings like they were. And they might be bad again. Right? Look at those totals, 41. And are they going to be okay with that? Are they going to go for it? Detroit's a team. They just did Demanta, Verana, Verana, given away for free. They could use
Starting point is 00:38:31 some pop. They're coming out of a rebuild. I saw it. They got lots of scoring. Just as Columbus. I know Aaron Portsline. longtime guy covering the blue jackets was on with Frank yesterday, I believe it was. And he, he was saying that third overall pick. He's like, that's their, their center. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:49 They're going to adjust their center spot with, with the third pick and then go from there. I don't know. I'm very Babcock going in. They've got Kent Johnson. Yeah. They've got Goddreau. Line eight. Are we talking about them the same way we're talking about Buffalo and potentially
Starting point is 00:39:05 Ottawa in a year and a half? They didn't get goaltending last year? We think about how high the stocks were at times with Corpusallo and with Merz Likins. It was not good years for either. They have this Daniel Terraceau, a great Russian prospect, who's been seasoning for a couple of years in the American League. He's been up and down last year. And Alex Texier was a big part of that as well, the Frenchman that was in the player assistance program all season. And I believe he's coming back this year.
Starting point is 00:39:29 And he's a center. And he's a skilled top six guy. They missed him a lot. I don't think they're a playoff team necessarily. but I mean, a lot of things went wrong last year beyond what you'd expect. In a weird way, I almost look at Dubois as the guy that I would be more interested in. Big, strong, center than the market. Bit a bite.
Starting point is 00:39:54 De Brinket's smaller. Score for sure. But I feel like with De Brinket, you need to have a, you have to have that other component to really get the most out of him. And if you don't have that, 25, 27 goals, worst case is still pretty great. Oh, dude. But I just, I do wonder about Dubois. Dubois, I really liked in that series against Toronto a couple years ago.
Starting point is 00:40:20 They beat Toronto. Bubble. That's a while ago now. But. And I was like, this guy's a stud. He doesn't play hard all the time. He had a better year this year. I didn't mind.
Starting point is 00:40:31 I was going to say this year and in that playoff series this year. But you can't tell me that he's played hard his whole. career. No, of course not. But I thought it was like, geez, there was talk about how, you know, he was the surprise pick in that draft, right? He went three to Columbus and that was like, oh, geez, now it's Pilarvi, Kachuk. And I think that's the same draft class. And the thought was like, this is just a hardworking kid. And then he arrives in Winnipeg. It's like, where's this ego? Where do this come from? And now he's picking his spots. But I thought last year was a step in the right direction. And if you're his age and you're like, buddy, it's your last year in Winnipeg.
Starting point is 00:41:02 We can get you out of here. But you need to work your tail off so that we can make this happen. And it wasn't him they were worried about it was shifley it was wheeler there was a lot of guys that didn't have great years for winnipeg and that the coach was questioning this wasn't one of them this year but you're right it's it hasn't been a if he's playing hard he's awesome yeah it's i wonder about it and and to be fair like a finishing winger that scores 40 and a really big physical number two center are very different parts like what are your needs they're both very valuable to brinket might make more do you not see dubois's that could be a number one center i mean if you're telling me a lindholm isn't a one i don't think you
Starting point is 00:41:40 tell me dubois a one well what are the numbers there we just had them on dubois do we put dubois up i saw he had to brinkets up like he's never scored 30 he seems like mid 20s for goals is what he is and i mean lindholm's got a better track record of work ethic and the own zone might be better too like if you're not sold on lindholm at one i don't know how you can be sold on dubois at one a little younger, I guess. Different, certainly different, different, different players. I don't know. He's bigger.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Yeah. Significantly younger. A couple years. Four years is a lot. Was it four? Okay. Yeah. It's a lot. And to be fair, like when Lindholm got here, he was still a winger, and then year two here, you moved to the middle. But, I mean, we're, I, I, there's nothing to say he is now a number one center. No, I'm just, yeah, it's, what's more, what's more sought after, a score or a center on what, what are your team needs?
Starting point is 00:42:41 Every team's different. Winnipeg's a weird one, right? Because I know Frank was talking about Helibuck. Hellibuck, Kim. What are you doing with Shifley? They have absolutely. Right. I think they've mismanaged all this.
Starting point is 00:42:54 They have, yeah. Like, how? Walk us through the mismanagement. They just, they've sat on that same team. It's, what do they call it? Paralysis. He just. He doesn't do.
Starting point is 00:43:03 They don't do anything. Even remember a couple years ago when they looked really good going into playoffs, Hallibuck was on a roll. And what defenseman did they add? Majority Ben. What the, like they're, that's the effing move you're going to do?
Starting point is 00:43:18 Didn't they give up a first for Stasney that year they lost to Vegas? They went to the semifinals. Hayes is another first. Kevin Hayes for a first. They brought in. But you have to make, and I think what they maybe underestimate, Winnipeg is that you got to the semifinal.
Starting point is 00:43:33 that and I thought they should win that series, but Reeves scared them. Reeves was running around and they were all shit scared. Five. That's what you're saying. We're five games. How was it just five? They brought in players,
Starting point is 00:43:46 but they have been almost, it feels like they're frightened to trade any of the guys that they drafted. All of those guys, and it's great, homegrown, but Shifley, Wheeler, Eilers, Morrissey, Kyle Conner,
Starting point is 00:44:00 like some of them, obviously you want to keep. But the mix ain't. It's been pretty clear. Wheeler's whining. I used to love Wheeler. No, it's been bad there.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Winy complainer, no. And so the production at 5 on 5 is been bad for a couple of years with Wheeler. I think the end of the road's near with Shifley. He's a free agent at the end of this year. Both in the last year is their deal. And I think everyone loves Cop and Connor and Eilers. Those are nice skill sets.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Morrissey's stepped up big time. Hella bucks a gamer, but he might not want to be there long term. They're waiting for this leadership group to go because it hasn't worked. And that's Shifley and Wheeler. Cop's the guy. they should have kept. He wanted to stay. Sorry, I meant to say Lowry, but yes, similar guys.
Starting point is 00:44:38 I'm looking at their lineup right now. I don't see it. No. I don't see it. And a lot of it's because they've been together and you know the track record for them. Well, they missed two years ago and they had that tailspin in the second half of the year where it's like, the flames aren't playing their way into this. Winnipeg's falling themselves out of this. And that was after a hot start and you're like, wow, look at the job. And a coach left. And this next guy that came.
Starting point is 00:45:03 came in and was like, I don't know what these guys don't show up and try. It's two different coaches in less than two years that have said, I can't deal with these guys anymore. Maurice resigned. Who's how many, when is the last time we saw that? Coach leave in the middle of year on his own. Almost never. And then bonus comes in. They get up to a hot start.
Starting point is 00:45:19 And the season ends with him calling out the leadership group essentially. Yeah. And the leadership group whining about it. Like we're a lot, we're, we're a million miles away, really, from that dressing room. But how much has been said and how clear has it been. really that the mix hasn't been right. That sounds funny for people in Calgary. Three years.
Starting point is 00:45:38 How haven't you addressed the mix? Because it's clearly not. But it just seems like the Wheeler, Shifley, Connor, Eeler, like, well, and the, the, the, the skill set is there. That's part of the issue. And that's probably why he hasn't made a bunch of moves is that you look at it and go, well, these, if they're all playing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:59 When they got Dubois, because Linae wasn't trying and left. I was like, this lineup is deep and good. If they're playing all playing hard and together, they're going to be tough to beat. They've not been tough to be. Remember that one off season they had to survive too? Buffaloan retires at camp. He's just not there.
Starting point is 00:46:17 What? And that was the year they traded Truba in the offseason. Yes, Pionk comes in, but it was like, Truva was a big part of that team for a while. Myers. Myers looking for agency to Vancouver that year as well. And then there was one other thing,
Starting point is 00:46:28 like Kulikov left. I was like five of their, four of their top five were gone. It was like what all over one off season? And they survived that. He did nothing to fill that either. Well, Morrissey stepped up and yeah, I think they brought in Schmidt who I think only went to Winnipeg and waived because it's close to a summer home of Minnesota or something like that.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Like it's the reason that they they're so hesitant to make a lot of moves is because a lot of guys will not waive to get there or won't show up as free agents. You've got to like they have to build internally. But if the mix ain't right, like that wheeler deal has killed them because he's. He was the captain. They stripped him. He hasn't been a good player at even strength for a while.
Starting point is 00:47:07 And he's making too much money. Like that's, you had to strip the sea off your captain. The coach leaves in the middle of a season. Issues. And I don't know. Have they drafted pretty well? I guess so.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Could he really criticize the trades that they've made? Should they have done more? Hard to say. But it starts at the top. And again, to a degree, I think it's commendable. But Kevin Schell deaaf is the only GM they've ever had.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Yep. And this is, how many cards does he hold now? And he's been with, he's been with the Chipman group. Matasobo Moose prior year, for years and years and years. And there's loyalty and man in 2023, you don't see it hardly at all. But I do wonder if that's a team because of those challenges you talk about. It's not just icing a good hockey team. You're in a tough market.
Starting point is 00:47:55 How do we get guys to come to Winnipeg and want to be here? It's, I don't know if anybody can do it. But I just wonder. if there's now that the good news the silver lining is it's the last year of shifely and wheeler so i don't think you have any trouble moving shifely wheeler you could eat half and slide him out at some point is the issue and hellabuck is one of those guys and we talk about it's rare and net mining where every year he's really good there's not like this massive volatility that we see with other guys yeah maybe there's one year that has been great but let's say of the last five years for
Starting point is 00:48:29 them he's been really good like if you're moving him you're getting a fucking hall. Now it opens up a hole in your roster, but that's an attractive chip. They can't trade for cap space. Because you won't be able to sign. You're not signing anyone. And if you are signing them,
Starting point is 00:48:46 you're signing them to too much because they're not coming. They're not winning. It's not a desirable location. The city is not, it's not taxably better than others. Like, to use your tax base or your, your cap space is you can't.
Starting point is 00:49:04 They don't have a top six player, nor a top four defenseman, nor a number one goalie that they've signed. It's all been trade or draft because they have to, to your point. They understand where they are. So yeah, I don't know how necessarily we got there, but Helibuck and Dubois. Wow, we're talking about Dubois.
Starting point is 00:49:23 It's going to be a wild year. Dude, last year, Shifley, he ain't coming back. Oh, Shifley. And he, you know what? Weird cat. Weird cat. I remember people raving about him five. six years ago that year they went to the final against Vegas and you're like wow what a great
Starting point is 00:49:37 young center and the the D zone is awful the decisions this year yeah it's it's just yeah it's been it's been weird there for a while guys don't want to play with the I want I want to play with this guy but I don't want to play with that guy and why and now I'm and I don't and I don't see the if I'm shoveled out he has to have a plan I'm sure but I don't see what yeah Where's this out? Yeah. Let's, we got the Pinder report coming up here. I want to take a look at the, for, for Bontan meets, Warner's weekend weather.
Starting point is 00:50:17 It's a beautiful, beautiful weekend on the way here. Today, 29 degrees. Oh, man. Sunshine. I actually, I think not a heat warning, but it was kind of, it says heat warning. Are we getting soft if we're getting heat warnings at 29? Come on. Stop it.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Friday, Hawaiian shirt day, also 27 degrees, Saturday 25, Sunday 24. It is a wonderful Alberta weekend. Oh, baby. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we're grilling, we're putting meat in smokers or slow cookers or ovens or on the grill. Map us out your weekend. Well, I have to go back because I need more potato salem. Okay. You destroyed it on the drive home.
Starting point is 00:51:06 It's not, that's not a vehicle-friendly snack. No, it's not. It's messy and you need two hands almost. Are you like scoot? Driving with his knee. I haven't had a great steak for a long, since I was here last time. Okay. It's steak.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Friday. Ribby. Saturday, Sunday. Oh, I got to grill every day. Just go, you know, are you going out one day? Sunday is, are we doing less on Sunday? We're getting ready for a new work week. When for you?
Starting point is 00:51:36 Mexican feels, or Sunday feels like a Mexican menu type of day. Okay. I'm going to have some tacos of some sort of some sort of grilled, slow-cooked meat there that I can slice, put in a taco and have a margarita. Okay. Today or tomorrow I'm having a rib-eye. Okay. Steak Friday. Don't wait.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Get after it. How are we doing the steak? I'm going to grill it. I'm going to put black and there's a. Trager has a Saskatchewan blackened season. I know. Yeah. Real good.
Starting point is 00:52:10 So are you not marinating, but what are we doing? Take it out, let us sit for half an hour. I don't want to put it on. Yeah. Just saw a girl hot. No. Just that Trager, Saskatchewan season. And usually I buy a steak that's so big.
Starting point is 00:52:31 And there again, we've, the bone and ribby might be the way to go. Tomahawk. The Tomahawk. Get a tomahawk. We've talked about it. You can finish it in the oven because if you leave it on the grill,
Starting point is 00:52:42 by the time you get the middle cooked, your outside's probably going to be a little burnt. That is usually what I do. Yeah. That is usually what I do. Okay. So a bone in ribby. Yes.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Preferably tomahawk, but hey, you know, times are tough. Yeah, well. It just looks better. If you're having people over, you're going to have the. Yeah. Saturday, we're doing tacos on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Saturday, maybe we're busy. Do we have the time? Is that a all-day, all-day smoker type of deal? It could, but a man, that's a lot of work, too. I know. I mean, I'm not going to eat chips and nothing, but three big meals on the weekend is going to be tough. And it's got to be different, right?
Starting point is 00:53:24 Now, I'm not going to force you to do all three days. If you want to do, if you want to go all out tomorrow for the steak. Well, I won't do anything on Friday. I'll have the steak on Saturday when the Mexican, I'm just going to marinate some chicken breasts. That's what I'm going to do. For tomorrow? No.
Starting point is 00:53:43 For Sunday. Oh, for Sunday. Okay. In a Mexican seasoning. Oh, then I'm going to grill it, then I'm going to slice it, throw it on the tacos.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Nice. So there you go. That's how you do it, folks. That's the weekend weather. That's the weekend meat forecast for Bontan meats. Calgary tradition since 1921, a 100% chance, probability of meat.
Starting point is 00:54:06 That's right. This weekend. 28 crow foot circle Northwest. We do not endorse eating potato salad with your bare hands while driving. On the crow child. Safety first. Use a spoon. Safety.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Plastic pork. We got to find out what's up with Keller. Is he asleep at the switch? He's going to be tonight, big event, getting ready for the game ahead of the game. Bontan meets. Crowfoot circle, 28 Crowe foot circle in the northwest. And what I also want you to do when you go to do, a bomb time, get some good baloney and make
Starting point is 00:54:38 yourself a baloney sound. Balona. This, he sent me a picture of his baloney sandwich. It looked delicious. Did it not? He's like, hey, you guys, say, what are you talking about? He's going to be there two hours for kickoff today. Poor baloney. I feel like
Starting point is 00:54:55 it's been pigeonhole. It has been beat about the head. Right? Yes, absolutely. Because when you think about, if you ask people, I think if you go outside in the street, do some streeters, hi, uh, hi, uh, hi, ma'am. What are your views on baloney? it's probably going to come off as kind of a second rate meat. They're going to say no.
Starting point is 00:55:14 And then you're going to say, what about you? Like hot dogs? They're going to say yes. What are we talking? I feel like it should have more credibility like the mac and cheese does. Like we know it's not lavish and fancy, but damn, it's good. You know what I'm going to do now? Now that you've said those two things in the same, I'm going to do baloney mac and cheese.
Starting point is 00:55:30 That's a winner. You're proud? You're welcome, people. Yeah. You're welcome. No, you know what it needs? Like the mac and cheese, it needs kind of, of a renaissance it needs a because it's all lobster mac and cheese and all this sort of thing it got
Starting point is 00:55:45 very trendy yeah we got a we got a gussy well we talked about times are tough earlier like we got maybe this is a nice mix shit yeah look at the common we're bringing balo laura back we are bologna back listen yeah one concern you have with the bologna you can't cut it thick poor uncle stew First time in Buffalo, I got traded in 99. He goes to the game. They've got fried bologna sandwiches. At the game? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Oh, my. Good, dumb bastards. They cut it thick like a burger. Like, no. I don't want it. It's got to be thin. You layer the slice. No.
Starting point is 00:56:27 You want to go in the boomer time machine? Bologna bat. Yep. Yep. Young boomer comes home from school. Needs a snack. My old man, he would, we would get the bologna cut thick from the. grocery store.
Starting point is 00:56:42 Take the wrapper on, you know, the, where you come. Cut it into squares. Yeah. Into a bowl. Vinegar. Hammer that shit.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Vinegar. Really? Because I'm thinking mustard and there. That's a, those two are related. Vinegar and baloney. Yeah. After school snack.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Shit. Yeah. Really? Oh yeah. So you can go anywhere with baloney. Yeah. You really can. Huh.
Starting point is 00:57:07 I feel like that's a challenge for us now. Greg's in. I know that. We don't have to sell him on this. We've got to get some shirts made up. We're making, we're baloney club. We're bringing baloney back. Screw steak club, balona club. Let's go. Tell Serge, we got a rival league. I feel like it might be a tougher sell than steak club. Ah, come on. Hey, we're, we're doing baloney sandwiches every Wednesday. Bologna week. Everyone has to come in with their best bologna recipe.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Making bologna cool again. It's a challenge. But if anybody's up to it, I feel like we're the guys. We got the resources to do it. Let's do the Pinder Report. For Village Honda, Northwest Auto Mall, they, you were talking about it? Top dollar for your used vehicle. They've got a million dollars to do it.
Starting point is 00:57:56 It's the million dollar buying event. Get cash today. They get it on the lot. O't she goes. Everybody's happy. Plus, they throw in a tropical cruise to boot. Find out more on location, Northwest Automall Online, VillageHonda. com, village honda with the Pender report.
Starting point is 00:58:12 All right, fellas, we start with game three tonight in the Stanley Cup finals. Scene switch to sunrise, Florida. There it is. The fellas on the bottom, zero wins. The fellas at the top of your screen. Two wins, them be the Vegas Golden Knights. John from Marsh, so 12 goals his last 12 games. Florida, undisciplined and dealing with some injuries, although
Starting point is 00:58:33 Rad Kugudis. He'll play tonight. Didn't practice yesterday. Listerainen, very much questionable. But Goudis will be back in. A ball of muck? That was what, is that what we call Radco Goudis? You know what?
Starting point is 00:58:50 He's too big to be a ball of muck. Hmm. That's kind of your Marshan kind of. Maybe more of a lumber. He's just a, yeah, he's a, he's a Viking warrior. Okay. That's a little more respectful. And dumb.
Starting point is 00:59:03 A lugan? I shouldn't say it. Galute. He's a galute. He's a galute. He's got quite the beard going. It's impressive. I guess it's kind of got that majestic thing
Starting point is 00:59:11 it's kind of grown out to a point now where it's flowing. It's some duck dynasty stuff he's got going on there. Yeah, it's amazing. I wish I had more on this NHL final. Florida win a fucking game and keep our interest, please. How about? Oh, anti-climatic will be if Vegas just steamrolls him again.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Well, we're done watching the final. It's 3-0. Like one game, Florida, do it now. Then we can at least buy in that you have hope. See, in a weird way. Now that we're really kind of shifting our focus on the show to bologna, you might be better off. And I'm completely distracted.
Starting point is 00:59:45 I just saw a bologna, easy bologna cake recipe. Bologna cake. No, it's not baked or anything, but you've got cream cheese, you melt it up, you put some spices in the cream cheese and then you layer baloney.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Cheese. No way. You know what I'm thinking? You know, like it's what they call it, cream cheese and locks? Yep. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Get the friggin' fish out of there. Put the bologna in there on your breakfast bagel. Let's go. You're living life. Living your best life. Yeah. So yeah, Cup final. I wish you had more on the cup final.
Starting point is 01:00:15 I just, I can't mustard it. Sorry, guys. Mustard on below. Oh, the best. Any kind of mustard,
Starting point is 01:00:20 really. Yeah. I got this, I've got a mustard. I got a, the, uh, smoked baloney sandwich.
Starting point is 01:00:26 What's the place in, uh, the U.S. It's not like whole foods, but it's, uh, anyway. Dill pickle flavored mustard.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Really? Oh. It's a nice, a little touch. I like dill. Dill's a good spice thing. I want to call it. Fried bolognail with pickle
Starting point is 01:00:42 Dijonet. All right. And you like's mustard. I do like mustard. You know what I also love? Trader Joe's. That's sort of. Traitor Joe's.
Starting point is 01:00:51 I said that, yeah. The bleeping CFL boys. It's back. She's going tonight. Everyone's favorite nine team league is back. I'm upset for the Toronto Argonauts who have a buy in week one. Sit back and kick up your feet, Corey Mace. The fucking.
Starting point is 01:01:08 nine team team league is back and it all starts tonight at McMahon Stadium. The old Fenway twin. The BC Lions at town. There it is. Game day, fellas. Who's this young gentleman holding the ball there? That's not Bo Levi Mitchell. No, it's not.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Oh, boy. Kind of weird. I got to tell you. First time and a long time. Yeah. I don't like it. I understand it. You don't like him?
Starting point is 01:01:32 Why don't you like him? I like Bo. I like Bo. It's weird to not have Boe, fire around you got a go. Give us one of those. You got screwed. I mean, I tell you so.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Now, can you text? It's three people, right? Not a category. Also good reminder about Danny Austin's football show that debuted this morning. And Derek Dennis wasn't mincing words. Still lots of friends in the locker. Management.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Derek Dennis, a little little sour with how things came into an end here in Calgary with the Stampeaters. Never easy at the end. So check out that podcast. Danny Austin, brand new. It's live at. I can't drive 55. Live from. Live at 55.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Live from the 55. Live at live from the 55. I write that down live from the 50s. Google. Rimes, eh? Here's your great cup odds. Courtesy our pals at Bittway. As you can see, Winnipeg still very good. They're the favorites to
Starting point is 01:02:38 win the Grey Cup in 2020. Bo Leba, Kate Texas Gunslinger, he's and his Hamilton Tiger Cats, that's where he is now, right? Yeah. The second most favored team to win the Grey Cup. BC, slightly favored
Starting point is 01:02:54 ahead of Calgary. Those are three and four the top two teams in the West per gray cup odds. So interestingly, Stamps favored tonight, but the Lions, smaller number to win the Grey Cup. Hmm. We'll revisit that in our bet way. bets of the day. Calgary FC in action this weekend. It is Calgary Minor Soccer Association.
Starting point is 01:03:15 We go lots of kids play soccer. No more kids play soccer in this country than hockey. Yeah. A lot of kids play soccer in Calgary too. We see it all the time. Love it. Marco Carducci, Calvary's keeper was one of them at its minor soccer association weekend. Here's Marco. For me, as someone who played in Calgary minor soccer and you know, every opportunity they get to walk out with the kids who are like, mirror image of myself, right? When I was eight or nine or ten, or whatever, you know, there's a big range there. I just didn't have a pro team
Starting point is 01:03:44 here that I got to walk out on the pitch on. It felt like there was that detachment, whereas now we have this here. So I think the more we can continue to build those communities and those networks and especially with Cogger Minor, it's what it's all about. That's what's all about right there. Bring your kids out. Watch the calves. It's Vancouver FC, the expansion team
Starting point is 01:04:00 they got for the first time. Take the shoveler. Oh, she does a stare at the goalie. She likes the good hair, Marco. Strap defense. She just... really, yeah, interested. Was it defense for other sports? Regardless the sport, except baby. I think she would be all offense in that situation.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Interesting. That's a three o'clock kickoff on June 11th. Shoblin, I'm not even here. Just speaking of soccer, we've got a red card for Rhett there. We're going to be playing down a man. Offside. Offside. I don't get offside.
Starting point is 01:04:33 I don't understand how it works, but I think that was offside. Jumped out order there a little. Let's go to baseball. Blue Jays last night. Chris Bassett, he's had the crazy eight days. He plays his old team, the Mets, takes a charter home, birth of his second child, I believe, doesn't miss a start. Back in yesterday, eight more innings, 81 pitches through eight. They hand the ball to Romano, he closes it down.
Starting point is 01:04:56 There's your innings pitched leaders in the entire bigs. Gosman and Bassett tied for first. Not see that coming with the hound. Second child, always the best. Now that we've picked our favorite children. move on to the next portion of the show again apologies to the shoveler always oh yeah first one you're out have no clue how to deal with them that's true they have to and the third you hardly remembers around too busy third is spoiled rotten because you just ignore them yeah whatever the hell
Starting point is 01:05:25 they just do whatever they just do it yeah take an iPad get the hell out of my face yeah um AI's getting really really smart but also still not that smart remember it was like okay well look they can smarter than me they can recreate uh Ask it to make art. It'll make it. And you're like, ha ha, that's bad. That that's not good. And then it's like, oh, the art's getting better. And it's like, oh, now they can make music with people's voices. What the hell's going on here? And the record labels are going to show you. You can be doing that. That sounds like the weekend. You can take his voice. And like, now it's the vibe of a voice. It can do essays. A.I. Can't do commercials. So they kind of would like scan what's out there and like, oh, what it's the vibe of a commercial. So a Blue Jays fan asked AI. to do an okay blue jays you know their seventh inning stretch song a commercial around that let's see what a i came up with it starts out charming and then becomes very disturbing we're having a tough time with fingers and hands and things like that you got you got a diamond where are your arms there that's oh my goodness that's it's like it kind of looks like this but when you look
Starting point is 01:06:37 closely like what does it tell of your hands It's pretty good. Now it gets weird. The food they don't know. What's happening? Oh, my goodness. What is happening here? Are these freezes?
Starting point is 01:06:55 Is this mustard? Is this a bologna festival? I don't know if I'm going to pune or not. I think you might. Look at all those spingers going the wrong way. Explosions and the Rogers. That's not the logo. That's not a friendly explosion.
Starting point is 01:07:10 Oh, dear. I think we should get T-shirts made, by the way, with that logo at the end. tickets available now. Oof. Come on. Yeah. Get better.
Starting point is 01:07:20 Getting better, but fucking disturbing right now. Maybe there's hope. Maybe we're not dead. We'll find out, I think, tomorrow. Jackson working in the lab on something. Is that right? Oh, yeah. It's going to save us some time, I tell you.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Punch these shows out like that. We are putting a lot into them now. That's a ton. Think about all the bologna research we've done of our lives, all culminating in today's show. Okay, we'll move along into the fun stuff. because that was a little too disturbing to be fun. Remember Jim Leahy from Trailer Park Boys?
Starting point is 01:07:49 God bless. T's and peas. Yeah. Well, the actor is a phenomenal guy. And in his original life, I believe, battled alcoholism and was, you know, sober, but played a brilliant drunk character. The character somehow came to life. And one of the ways that character in the real world here
Starting point is 01:08:05 makes money is umpiring kids baseball. Let's go to the video. This is not good. All right. So there's blue. Got the, oh, maybe you didn't. Some right between first and second there. Make that call at first.
Starting point is 01:08:21 And he's a little wobbly here. Someone's got the camera on him. It's breezy. There's a little windy there. Could be the wind blowing him over. Oh, man down. Tom. Tom.
Starting point is 01:08:33 Tom. Tom. I hope that's the case. Look, maybe he had the Tuesday medicine in the Monday box and opened their and mixed the yeah sure we don't know what it is I hope that guy didn't lose his job but no position to be calling
Starting point is 01:08:52 safer out at first base that's not a full-time job if he got canned then he earned it it might be his boo's money it could be a really positive ending who knows last one for you I think who's the guy hanging out at your place in Buffalo
Starting point is 01:09:09 now that you're here was it your brother trev that went out there or is it like maybe an uncle the goaltender because someone was on your roof. The shoveler is there. We got the above ground pool and we got video working really hard to impress the
Starting point is 01:09:24 shoveler. Look at the moves. I don't know. Who's the guy? Who's the guy sleeping in your bed? I mean, at your house. When you're not there. Yeah, well, let's have a look. Here he is on the roof. It's Buffalo for sure. Totally. That's your house. And the shovelers got the camera out.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Look at this guy. Oh, so close. Yeah, not really. But so far. Right in the ribs. Gosh. Is that brother? Is that cousin? That's your brother Trev? No. No. He was shirtless eating hot dogs there the other day.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Remember he was sucking down those hot dogs? So dude thought he was going to make it, eh? He sure did. You don't jump if you don't think you're making it. Holy. What you do if you're right as can. I was going to say, who was drunker, the umpire or this clown? There's a theme.
Starting point is 01:10:08 Whoa. That's your Thursday. How are your ribs? Which ribs? I think you have dust in there now. Just in the ribs. Well, we are, Village Honda
Starting point is 01:10:20 Get your piece of the million dollar buy-in event, get cash for your vehicle. Top dollar, and they'll throw in a tropical cruise tub boot. Find out more online at villagehonda.com. They are located in the Northwest Automall and are your dealership for life.
Starting point is 01:10:36 All we are is dust in the ribs. All we are. You're my boy, Blue. Wanted to mention Madrose Pub. If you want to go and watch the hockey, right? Tonight. It's the night.
Starting point is 01:10:48 They got it on the screens. They got it all going. Thursdays at Madrose. They have some drink specials. And it is pasta night. 25% off your pasta dishes. Pastas. Pasta or pasta?
Starting point is 01:11:01 Whatever is Madrose Pub? It does matter. It matters to some people for sure. Now, did Jackie boy, did you? How did you? How was the dog? What were you doing up there? I wasn't up there.
Starting point is 01:11:12 I came home and it was just in my fridge. Oh, wow. Oh, meat lovers pizza. What a treat. Didn't eat breakfast lunch. I crushed the whole. That's amazing. It was the whole wheel.
Starting point is 01:11:24 Nicely done. There's a few things my wife does that I do not condone. A, she doesn't like beer or coffee. I'm like, what the hell is this shit? Can you a few things? She doesn't like pizza out of the fridge. Lefter pizza is one of life's greatest treats. Cold pizza.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Oh. Jack, glad you enjoyed yourself. You need a counselor. Yeah. I have to go over to this house. you're welcome anytime. With baloney and pizzas. Jumping off my roof into the other pool.
Starting point is 01:11:55 That's right. The above ground pool. Get it after it. Look it. Even in the 1930s, they were eating baloney casserole. For sure they were. He was struggling today with something to Google
Starting point is 01:12:05 because he usually comes in. There's the main to do. He just waits for the show to start. And he's like, I'm just going to start Googling stuff. Today he's like, I'm all out. I don't even know what to Google. Now he's found it. It's baloney.
Starting point is 01:12:13 He's going to Google baloney for the next three days. Well, it's, I won, or if maybe that guy jumping off of the roof into the above ground pool, maybe that guy was Rob Ray, Rhett, because today... Is it today? Today, is Robert's birthday.
Starting point is 01:12:31 Really? I even know which one it is. Have you sent him a tax yet today? Live from the 55. Live from 55. That's right. He's old. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:41 If that means for us. Easy to say that when you're three times on the way, but yeah. But you got to think, now's the time. If you're going to go have a go with him, now's the time. I'm still waiting. No. I want him in a bed with oxygen on.
Starting point is 01:12:57 Because here's the thing. There's, like we talked about earlier, there's offense and defense. He's maybe slowed down, but are you hurting him? Probably not. All he needs to do is land one. You are not hurting the guy. No. And you're right. Puncher's chance. He's going to find a way to get one through. Until he's hooked up
Starting point is 01:13:15 on a machine in a hospital, you want no part of that. No, thank you. Bitching out some poor prick in Pittsburgh last year. Rough. From across. Oh, guy running the clock. Oh,
Starting point is 01:13:25 he was letting the clock run a couple seconds extra every whistle. Aye. Yeah. Boy, you can imagine the look he gives you. Yes, sir. Sorry. Even now in,
Starting point is 01:13:38 you know, his advanced years, he's matured and all that. You still, you don't have that in. You don't have that in you. You don't have that in you. The on-off switch is still in there somewhere.
Starting point is 01:13:50 You have to be a little squirley to do the job he did. He's still squirley. On the phone? Yes. Back in the day, just like that, it may take a little bit longer, but I still feel like, you're pushing me. You're pushing me. There it is.
Starting point is 01:14:06 There is the breaking point. One of the things I like about this versus the old jobs that we had, when you called someone out of the blue. How do we call? Unannounced. Just put on speakerphone. Just hold it up to the old microphone. We'd worry about how someone answered their phone, not knowing that we were on the air.
Starting point is 01:14:20 But now it's like, yeah, so what the fuck you want? He might say something. Yeah, I guess. How's that? Your house jumping into your pool. I'm hurt. There is still that, but, uh, yeah, 55 years old for, uh, for the one and only Rob Ray. And Rhett's been saying it, and he's, like, dead on.
Starting point is 01:14:38 We don't even know the market. How is that number not retired? He's a bloody folk hero there. Well, they'll wait till he's dead. Well, that's stupid. which I guess he's another year close to almost there. Almost. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:53 Let's want to get it in. UFC. Yes. The big UFC event coming in Vancouver this weekend, 289, as the UFC makes its return to the fine country of Canada, kind of the double main event. Aldona versus Nunes. And that's the women's card.
Starting point is 01:15:13 She had kind, you know. Double, double belt, Dino. Double belt. After she lost to Pena, she was like, maybe it's my time. No. Maybe it's my time. Don't do it. And then she came back and destroyed her.
Starting point is 01:15:28 And I'm not sure. Again, everyone's got opinions. I don't know if anybody feels like she's in grave danger this weekend. But Nunes versus Irenae Aldana, Mike Malott, the Canadian, he's got a fight against Adam Fuget. And yes, that's right. Puget, I'll have another one. That's right.
Starting point is 01:15:48 Bantamweight Championship, Nunes, and the number five ranked contender, Irane Aldana. Get it on pay-per-view this weekend, Saturday. Like Rhett said, what are we doing Saturday? You're having your big steak, your bone in with your Saskatchewan steak spice or whatever it is, and then fire up your pay-per-view and watch a little UFC from Vancouver. You know what you said there that sort of caught me. It's like, we don't know if she's in trouble.
Starting point is 01:16:16 You know what the beauty of combat sports is? you never know until it happens. Oh, you never know. They call it the puncher's chance for a reason. That's right. Six Canadians in all are going to be on the card from the, from the pre-fight right through to the Milat fight, which I believe is third, the third final bout on this one.
Starting point is 01:16:36 Last Canadian card was in 2019, Gachi. Where was it to you? It was in Vancouver. It was in Van. Was in the last pay-per-view. It's a big event. And I know that, you know, COVID screwed everything up. But Canada's a big market for UFC.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Let's make it big so that they keep coming back. Canada's a big one for UFC. So there you go. UFC this Saturday, 289 only on pay-per-view. Comments. Interesting note here. Somebody's barn burner hoodie arrived today. Well, out of boy, Tom.
Starting point is 01:17:11 What do I, Tommy? Flamesnation.orgia. Or actually, just be nationgear.ca. Nationgear.com. Go nationgear. They're moving. Like talking to the Wolverine. Certain sizes.
Starting point is 01:17:21 There's not many left. Get your hoodie. Let's go. Good for the campfire. Good for summer. Order small because apparently small is in. Shorts. Well,
Starting point is 01:17:28 different cut. I don't know. It's not a difference. Probably can't hear it. Oh, he's probably busy celebrating his birthday. We just called. You're on the show,
Starting point is 01:17:40 Rayser. We called to say happy birthday. What are you doing? What is it else? Breaking stones and pulling roots and plant and grass. I thought it was all smoky. Yeah, but I thought.
Starting point is 01:18:04 You got a 14-year-old at home? Hmm. Oh. So do you. Why don't you put them both? Mine doesn't know more than what yours does. Why don't you put them both to work? I would like to. What are you doing to celebrate after you're done work?
Starting point is 01:18:31 Yeah, I had your kid last night bumming true off to have me at this, you know? You gotta stay awake. I'm not celebrating for my birthday. Why? The energy when I get home to do anything. So the wife is safe? Your wife is safe for another day.
Starting point is 01:19:05 Or a week or month. What can we get... I don't expect too much, remember, you know? What can we get you? What do you need? I need a pizza or a sub right now would be really cool. Maybe an ice tea, something cold. It's actually...
Starting point is 01:19:23 chillier it's only in the 50s today oh but it is hazy it's back man it's it's really hazy all right well what kind of cake will you have you gotta have a piece of cake i know you like you're sweet vanilla vanilla vanilla cake yeah icing yeah oh yeah icing i like that uh that um one that's got little colors in it the the birthday confetti confetti cake Angel food? Yeah. Yeah. And I don't like pot cake.
Starting point is 01:19:57 I like cakes. Huh. A bigger portion. What about ice cream cake? Ice cream cake? Ice cream, too. Yeah. What about bologna sandwich?
Starting point is 01:20:09 What is your feel on bologna? Bologna. Do you like bologna? Bloney. Bloni. Oh, I love bologna. Bologna and cheese and man. Oh.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Any lettuce? You're becoming a man. If you want to become a man, then you guys put some onions on it, too. Oh, wow. Did you ever have a... It's even better if you've fried a bologna up a little bit. Yeah. It's a little crispy.
Starting point is 01:20:37 Yeah. Did you ever have a fried bologna at the rink? Yep, it used to call the poor man's odd up front, and every night after the game, we'd go up and have fried bologna. So good. So good. Press the boney and a couple drinks. The way you went.
Starting point is 01:20:53 It's a good life. All right. Well, we'll come up with something to send you. We appreciate you everything you do, Robert. You have a wonderful birthday. I appreciate a little help sometime. It would be nice. Long way away.
Starting point is 01:21:06 Guys my age are dying all the time because they're doing too much. And all I do is ask for a little help and I get nothing. They doesn't want to die. Well, I'll think about it here. That's okay. None of you guys are in my will, just so you know. You said you're broke. All right, audio.
Starting point is 01:21:28 Happy birthday. The one and only. Legend. That guy, I'll tell you what, he's never fucking disappointed once. Not. No. All he does is deliver.
Starting point is 01:21:43 God damn. You know what? Now, with that, having heard that. We got to send him something. Do you have his address? Is Bologna really, is it struggling?
Starting point is 01:21:54 Or are we just not paying? Because everybody we talk to loves Bologna. It's the image of Bologna. It's not the actual consumption. I think what has happened is you grew up with it. It's a 70s, 80s, maybe some 90s, new age stuff. Bologna ain't making, it hasn't. Timberlakes not eating bologna sandwiches?
Starting point is 01:22:10 No. So I think that it's going to have a resurgence here. It's the Renaissance, the Bologna Renaissance. Yeah. Because everyone you talk to that eats it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:23 Right? So good. Pulling roots and what's he doing? Oh, nice garden. I'm working too hard. Guys my age are dying from doing too much. Did he say he called it unemployment stake? What is it?
Starting point is 01:22:37 Poor man, something. How much he's just buying land? Is that what he's? He probably owns 20 houses. Yeah. Oh, really? So you're not buying that he's broke thing. No, he ain't broke.
Starting point is 01:22:51 He's cheap. Always has been. I see where you're coming from. That all fits the, I see it now. Oh, man. All right. We're in sweatpants on the coffee shop.
Starting point is 01:23:01 pretending he's poor he just doesn't want to buy nice pants yeah let's get to the betway bets of the day the hockey has decided to play a game tonight they've decided to take to the ice apparently what tonight yeah they're going to play a game we're going to play a game tonight six o'clock Vegas in florida the first time that there's been a stanley cup final game in florida or at least in miami slash sunrise in quite some time. Those Tampa Bay Braggards, they do it all the time. Betway, bets, get the betway app on your phone. Bet the responsible way with Betway.
Starting point is 01:23:38 I am going to go. Jack Eichl has been playing quite well. A power play point for Eichl plus 162. I wonder if it's going to be a bit of a feisty affair based on how. I was thinking I was cutting the grass yesterday. And I was thinking I was going to send a message to Paul Maurice and the and the fellows in the room as an alumni, I would say start playing hockey. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:04 Quit worrying about trying to intimidate. Yeah. Drag. Hit and no, there's no get in your face BS anymore. They clearly aren't engaging in it. You're not intimidating them. You're going to have to go win. So get your S together.
Starting point is 01:24:23 Put the work boots on, forecheck, back check, paycheck. Yeah. They have not looked, Vegas has not looked uncomfortable at any point. No. Right? They've had the lead. They've had their way. And they've been, yeah, it's almost like, go ahead, run around.
Starting point is 01:24:37 Yeah. And. Yeah. So put an end of that shit, Florida. The other one just rolling the dice. Marsha So has been out of his mind. Yep. Anytime goal is paying a little bit first goal of the game, let's go.
Starting point is 01:24:50 Yeah. Shooting for it. Plus seven hundo for Jonathan Marsha so for the first goal score of the game. 12 in his last 12. I've got a little March or so action as well in my Betway bets of the day. Also, it's kind of looking at some quick starts that we've seen here.
Starting point is 01:25:05 We told you that Vegas alone is at the first period over. I think 12 of the last 13, 13, the last 14. Let's go with the highest scoring period being the first. Plus 375. That's a big number. And I've also got, how about this? Miami or Florida, whatever you like there. plus 195 as a minus 149. Miami and Florida in the same.
Starting point is 01:25:34 Kids can't spell don't like baloney. Wolf Kikuchi scores tonight, it'll be worth a lot. I know that. Those are the betway bets of the day. Almost. Close, Jack. Almost had it. Almost had it.
Starting point is 01:25:50 Almost had it. Tomorrow's the Friday show. Do we do anything for Friday? Take the days off. He's been asked for days off all week. I know. You guys have grinding me. I got to do two today, two Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:26:03 Top secret. Top secret. You have to be that secret. It's true. Enjoy the game. We'll be back tomorrow. T's and peas. Be safe.
Starting point is 01:26:12 And buy your family some bologna. Show them you love them. With the gift of bologna. When everyone comes home from school or work today and there's some nice bologna sitting in the fridge. Have a stack of. Lonely sandwiches ready to go. Yeah, a nice tray. Help yourself.
Starting point is 01:26:28 Or, as you did as a young child, chop chop, dice it up, fire it in a bowl of vinegar and treat yourself. That's where your goat started. Can't be. Couldn't be. Have a great rest of your day, everybody. See you tomorrow. Go cats?
Starting point is 01:26:46 Yes, go cats. All right. See you.
