Hey, buddies.
It is Friday.
The Friday, the Feel Good Friday edition of the program.
That's right.
Friday is Hawaiian shirt day.
So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.
You can do whatever you want today.
You wear Maple Leaf today.
I don't care what you do.
Yeah, it was pretty classic.
I had some Maple Leaf on me last thing.
Yeah?
You looked great last night.
Like sandwich meat?
Yeah.
Some Maple Leaf, some bologna.
Yeah, cold cuts.
Delicious.
Honey ham.
That's how you celebrate.
Just pouring maple syrup all over himself.
Let's go.
Shovel, you want a piece of this or what?
We'll see how that went over.
This program, a presentation of Bet365,
the world's largest sports betting platform.
You get that account open with Bet365 and just get in there.
Start snooping around, rooting around.
Huge range of markets.
Huge.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
And you see right there, use that promo code nation when you sign up,
if you haven't already.
I would, if I were you.
chat is rolling again as we do throughout the show if you're in the YouTube chat a little bit of a cash donation we send the money to the youth centers of calgary and then we take your comment and put it on the show within good reason they do great work and some of the comments are good too some of the comments are all right yeah yeah um one in early it's it's not a super chat but the pinner apologize to binner look we we may as well get it out of the way we had to do we did what we had to do Jordan bittington who was
not very good for three games.
It was excellent last night and probably saved his best for the largest moments of the tournament late in the third and into overtime.
Yeah.
It's just incredible.
Short tournament, roller coaster ride.
Yeah.
I, uh, when they started, when the pinball machine started there in overtime, it was like, this is not good.
Yeah.
There was one team getting shots.
They are going to end this very quickly.
and shots are missing the
swing bang and when you hear
Bennington was facing the net
it's like oh
he's got the carri-ramo going the name bar on TV
I don't want to see your name bar ever
but he was out of his mind
making
obviously big saves in the third you get it to overtime
but his work in OT
was out of this world
the we could take a look at
I mean, the one glove save, I'd love there to be an overhead.
I'm not trying to take anything away from what he did because it was amazing.
But I almost wonder if the, is this going in or not.
If the glove, this is the first one where, again, if Matthews is in,
isn't in quite so tight as he elevates and got taves all over him.
Again, we're nitpicking.
But yeah, if that gets to him a foot further out, that's probably game over.
Bennington gets there
and then basically
just moments later
oh man
Chris Cusper just
loses us by did you see that
so again there's no way
but I believe it's probably going in
I'm gonna go with the
it was going in he had to save it
I'm gonna say better to get your glove on that one than
not you don't want to let that one play through
and see if it's on that yeah because here's the
actually sorry Jack just let that play the next
angle is when he comes
over with the so dirty is it in there yeah that's the end son of a bitch uh anyway
unlikely uh unlikely uh unlikely hero someone was gonna have to be hero we talked about it you got all
these two teams of a lot of captains cup winners stars half we're gonna win half we're gonna lose
one of them is going to be the hero yeah jordan bleping bennington do you think oiler honks or
praising bingington or they go straight to the guy that scored the goal well i mean yeah
It's a big part of it, too.
There's no question.
Probably.
The Oilers fans know where their bread is buttered.
Yeah.
But you could be proud of more than one guy in that team last night.
Goodness.
Who,
yeah,
you probably could.
They got to go get Pennington.
They should probably give up a few firsts.
What do you think?
Or St.
Louis should get McDavid.
There you go.
I mean,
Doug Armstrong,
just this is all part of a covert plan.
You got Carreco and Bennington already.
Yeah.
You may as well go and get,
uh,
get McDavid.
It,
again,
this tournament did everything that Betman and the league could have hoped.
Beyond.
This is the side of bananas.
The most staunch advocate and supporter of this
would have had his expectations blown out of the water.
I'm sorry, it was just you can't script the geopolitical stuff happening,
which isn't great stuff,
but it adds to the spectacle of it all.
And the games were incredible.
And not unlike in Sochi,
and not unlike other international tournaments,
they lost to the Americans in the round robin,
sets up the final.
And again, overtime.
Like Sydney and Vancouver,
now McDavid in Boston and overtime.
Incredible stuff.
A couple O.T wins for Canada.
Three of the four games that they played were absolute bangers.
And I don't know.
Maybe if you talk to the Americans, they're less excited about the tournament today.
Probably Finland, Sweden.
Well, here's the thing.
We do have the opportunity to talk to a pseudo-American.
Yeah, I guess we do, don't we?
Jack, how we don't?
Yeah, I'm still pretty past.
Okay.
Trying to think about who to blame all night.
Yeah.
I think you know who it is.
It's awesome.
Matthews.
Okay.
And Mike Sullivan.
There we are.
See,
full circle.
One day after the Mike Sullivan
Masterclass is back to the Mars mission.
Everyone that was watching that game
noticed that opening.
Yeah.
She did for a split second.
It was like, boom, boom,
done.
You're watching OTA.
You're just looking for like,
where is this going to come from?
and the moment you see McDavid alone in front
and the puck head in there,
you're like, oh, this is it, this can be it.
Yeah, I was saying you guys, just felt like how it was going.
If you're going to get an opportunity,
and right about there, your brain just like,
oh, this is it.
That's the guy.
This is it.
And he makes it look easy, man.
That is off his stick quick,
and that is labeled.
That is, you know, maybe not a male slop,
but not much more, a loaf of bread in the corner.
Like, that is a tiny hole.
He hits quick.
I guess he's all right.
Jeez.
you know.
Yeah, it's good.
That wasn't a euphemism for something else, right?
I'm talking about shooting the puck.
I see him win something.
I don't know.
He just kind of gets sitting there and watch that all day.
He's got to work on his glass jump.
He didn't time it right.
He kind of jumped early.
No one was there to catch him.
But, you know, yeah.
It's his first one in a while.
You were amongst Americans last night, or at least one.
Take us through your night.
It was all Canada gear in our house.
Really?
Yeah.
I was told that there.
impossible for somebody to lose.
They were in a no lose situation.
They've got two passports.
Ah, I see, I see, I see.
Yeah.
So did the shoveler have the
Stars and Strikes bikini with like a Canadian robe over top?
Yeah, the robe was on for sure.
Okay.
Yeah, it was,
she was surrounded by so many Canadians.
I think it would have been hard for her to play the heel.
Okay.
Yeah.
So she didn't.
And now don't you have one of your offspring is kind of liking to think that he's Johnny USA and
me?
Yeah, he likes to think he's dumb.
Yeah.
How is that?
Spends a couple years in the bottle.
And all of a sudden he thinks he's, well, they've got the passports.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
Good options to have.
You just pick whichever sides of winning.
And also like for those, they have that program, US NTDP.
I was wondering how many of those guys with playing on that,
American squad.
Would it come through there?
Would it come through there?
I could research that,
but I would be a lot of the defense.
Yeah, it'd be a lot.
Yeah.
I mean,
it would be half the team probably.
Yeah, at least.
Yeah.
I'm trying to find my team.
Anyway, you're right?
It's quite a,
it's quite a program.
Yeah, no, no, no question.
And look, like,
if this goes the other way,
like one at one gets through in the third on Bittington
or too many men penalty gets called or something.
like that.
You know, it's
hockey Canada on the skewers today
and no one's talking about it.
I wanted to ask you because the names
weren't impressive, but the bottom half of the roster,
what did you think of those guys when it mattered?
Wow, I mean, Bennett scores that massive goal.
Bennett was one of the guys, there was a bubble guy.
Hagel, I thought, won people over.
He felt like an odd name if you don't watch
watch a lightning because it's not Canadian market.
They're way, you know.
Same with Sorrelli.
Sorrelly for sure.
might not have the needle enough and he sort of played his way down the lineup a bit
Jarvis is interesting but I don't still don't really know if he's helpful at that level
go to the Olympics in a year and you'll have the same conversation unless they well huge numbers
no my point is always that there's enough guys that can take those spots and you could
yeah like argue that or talk shyly could Tom Wilson would have been real good on Saturday night
again see yeah if he could keep up yeah I don't know like maybe he'd be great maybe it's like shoot
he's just a step behind.
You can't hit anyone.
I wonder about Wilson.
And Bennett was that role that they picked.
And I do think that you're going to have to carve out slots for Baudard and Celebrini
next year.
So I just think they're that good.
They didn't take Cid to one of the early Olympics, if I remember correctly.
Maybe it was 06, and that was a huge error in my mind because they just got old and they
missed that speed and youthful enthusiasm.
And look, we're getting way ahead of ourselves.
But we get to do this again.
The year is the bottom line.
Like we won a decade with, oh, best on best.
it's finally back.
Love it.
Matthew Kachuk hurt.
That's obvious.
And Frank lit us up to that Tuesday morning.
Like, watch this.
Because we were kind of saying,
oh, yeah,
the Kachuk's going to play.
And he's like,
yeah, but he was
gimpy,
gimpy,
Gimpy coming out of the Saturday game.
He didn't play on Monday.
And I wouldn't be surprised at all
if the Panthers sit him down for a while.
Is that the right move on his part for that team?
That's great.
For the Panthers or for Team USA?
Well,
we were talking about it before you got in today.
maybe it's the best thing to happen to the Panthers.
I don't worry about them missing the playoffs.
I don't worry about where they're seated.
And if you open up nine and a half million bucks
or whatever he's making in cap space for the Panthers,
the go full back.
I don't care for the,
I'm talking for the,
you at the American.
Yeah, no.
And that's a Mike Sullivan thing too.
Like Matthew,
if you're going to be unable to go,
I could use a Kyle Connor.
Very good player.
Yeah, pretty crazy that that's a guy that gets
scratched in a championship.
Yeah, and I didn't like Brock Nelson
and Trocheck that much.
I know Trochex good on draws, but like, to not have Cal Conner,
and I know it wasn't a great tournament for him, but like,
he's a guy that scores.
These have been very low scoring games.
Yeah.
Everything went.
I mean, it's,
it's hard to critique, right?
Well, should Sorelli have been there and did you make the right?
When you win, well, of course you made all right.
Well, and the name Harley was way out of left field because we were talking about
Tanniv and Uyghur and Bouchard and those are very good players,
but like you could put him in Penn next year for Italy for the Olympics.
If you could time machine, it and go back when the whole Petrangelo thing was playing out,
because we were obviously focused on Uyghur, but his name was being trotted out there.
Was Harley's name being mentioned?
It was really more.
And look, it probably should have been, but when you look at what hockey candidate did,
like you probably should have been talking about Macklin-Colaborini and Connor Bernard, too,
but it's just you always yield to the vets.
But it's a savvy pick.
It's a guy that he's been an analytics darling for a couple of years.
He does not get a lot of pub because he plays behind Haskinan.
great player and like big moves it calm poised you noticed him the first candidate
I thought he was going to say when he came in you're like that's a guy that flew in yesterday
that's pretty damn good yeah I think Connie should go back and look at the text chain
because maybe he thought he was getting Harley instead of Hanley in that Tannett deal
if so what's the statute of limitation could you go back and got a year
then we're good the receipts yeah was the deal done at Costco because you're going to turn
anything until wait a minute
Henry. Handley.
I wanted Harley.
The goaltending thing will probably not be
a lot different. Is there a...
Well, you got to get Logan Thompson there.
And I think
Aden Hill and Bennington
have to go back too.
But yeah, there isn't a great...
We've been waiting for the next great young Canadian goaltender.
It's supposed to be Carter Hart. Never happened. Then he got into
the off-ice issues, but he still hadn't really been
blossomed into a star.
Yeah. They don't have a young Dustin Wolf guy.
maybe a kid that's not in the league now. Thompson has been great, but he's just not young, right?
He's a little older. He's playing at Brock University, then backing up and, you know,
I don't care, be good. Oh, yeah, totally. It's just that there isn't, you, with all these other positions,
you're like, who are the young guys that are just about to pop? There isn't one in that.
How much do you put in, because you talk about Harley and how good he was here, so I put him in Penn.
Yeah. Do you feel the same way about Bennington? Because he, yeah, because you take three.
Yeah. And he just showed you he's a gamer.
Yeah.
Like I, I, I, I, I, I, it's also just the thinest pool.
Like, who's better than him for sure.
Like, Stuart Skinner's a roller coaster when he's right.
Sure.
But they're, they're in the same box for me.
And one guy just wanted you to the tournament.
I would not worry about picking my goalies until right then.
The later you can wait the better because that's like,
when you look back at Sam Montembo, that makes no sense now.
It must have made some sense in November whenever they pick these teams.
Like, Logan Thompson's been.
Well, it probably goes back to when Montreal was on that run.
And no, it was way before that.
Hughes is coming out. Hey, we're still sticking with the plan here.
I mean, like you say, the pool is not.
No, it's their weakest area.
It's not super deep.
And they survived it.
It was kind of like the abs went in the cup with Kemper in my mind.
Like it's, if you can give us the saves and maybe one or two that shouldn't go in, we can do the rest.
Anybody kind of stand out to you that maybe you were, I didn't see you having that kind of game or you were better because we can go the other way.
Marner had a real tough tournament, I thought, until last night he makes two monster plays.
Like the pass to Bennett is awesome.
Just that awareness of where he's going because Bennett cuts to his left to get open.
And most guys, I don't think see that.
But Marner's vision is just awesome.
And then on the winner, he gets it off the wall onto McDavid's tape quick because he's open, but not for long.
Yeah.
And it doesn't have to move.
It's on, like you say, it's there and gone.
I thought in the Sweden game, it didn't look like he and McDavid were meshing well together.
They took him off that line.
they put point there, then they brought him back.
And I thought that was the best version of that line with McDavid.
He needed point speed to help it go.
And the vision of martyr finally started to work.
Yeah.
Slaven for the Americans.
God, he's good.
Yeah, that was.
Yeah.
Brady Kachshucks and abs.
He's a Ginla 2.0.
Yeah.
Like, I don't know that there's a better power forward in the sport.
He's an animal.
And he's got more of that.
I'm going to skate into your crease by accident.
Whoops, a Daisy bump your goalie than Jerome would have had.
And he's bigger than Matthew.
Like, he's considerably.
like he's an ogre. He's
he's Shrek man. Like he's a beast.
And like we're talking about it. If we could get
Ottawa, Toronto in the playoffs this year, it would
just be so good. Yeah.
Like do you remember how insane
those like eight days or whatever
it was for Calgary, Edmonton, 10 days,
the Battle of Alberta. It's been like decades.
It's the same story there.
It'll be wild. It's been so long
and how could you not
think a team with Brady Kachuk
would have a chance? Like he was their best player by a
mile in the tournament. He didn't hell of a buck. Yeah. And you wanted to because he didn't play in that last
game with to what extent he was injured. They miss, you're going to miss Charlie McAvoy. Yeah.
You're going to miss Josh Morrissey. That was, that stinks for him. Quinn Hughes is the biggest one too.
He's, he's their best player, I'd argue, of the regular season before the tournament started.
You're like, who is their best guy? Like Quinn's going to get MVP votes this year.
Heart. Like for just to go back to Morrissey, you're there all tournament. You play great. You brought
them up yesterday. And then you're sick. Not only can't you play.
You're not there.
Yeah.
You're not, you're not, you know, all of the celebration, the whole thing.
Yeah, you're sitting at the hotel with soup, some issues, some broth.
That's that what it is?
Yeah, some bone broth.
Delicious, love bone broth.
Anyway.
Get to do it again soon, Jack.
So Sunday, huh?
Sharks and flames.
Celebrity.
Celebrity.
Hey, listen, maybe we just need to change it because we were, we were pooing this thing.
And it turned out great.
Hey, let's just sharks and flames.
Damn, boy.
The run to the-
Tyler to Foley back.
Dude.
Run to the playoffs here.
That's right.
Hey, yes.
Dude.
That's great.
Yeah.
We've got some people kicking tires on dude in terms of,
oh, nice.
Yeah.
Well, not sold yet, but there's some interest.
I can understand.
Still just really workshopping,
beta testing the whole thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, so we were, uh, was there disappointments in that tournament at all?
I mean, there would be individual kneelander didn't put a point to your Leafs fan.
But I'm just talking about in the grand scheme of things and you look at and you go, wow,
if they could have changed or tweaked or done, the games were good.
I mean, there was a lot of injuries, but other than that.
Because it just killed.
That's because it mattered to those.
No, I know.
And they're just some, some of the bad luck, like Theodore is going to miss some time.
Chuck's going to miss some time.
Matthews looked like he reagravated something he's been playing with all year.
You know, there's, that sucked.
But even the fins, like that would, they, coming into the tournament, like, they got no D.
They're going to get blown out.
They hung in.
Yeah.
They beat the Swedes.
The Swedes only lost by one and then did beat the Americans.
Like, every team could leave with their head high.
And our boy Jack, the Americans, like, that's the toughest tournament.
Because they were just millimeters from winning the thing.
and again, it's another crushing loss to Canada.
They haven't beat Canada since Keith played on the team in what, 06?
In a final?
Or whatever was, 96.
96 was the, yeah, 96 was the, like ages ago.
Tiz and twas.
Indeed.

our NHL Insider,
TSNHockey Insider.
Look at the hat.
It is.
Nice.
Some merch.
This is more important than your Arizona Cardinals had,
I'm hoping.
Yeah, a little bit.
Yeah, it was a fun tournament, wasn't it?
I wouldn't say
it was skeptical going in because
anytime you wrap an athlete
in the flag, chances are they're
going to compete for their country. I mean, that's just
in the DNA.
I didn't think it would be up to Stanley
Cup final pace as quickly
as it got to. I didn't expect
it to be as physical
as it was. Now,
last Saturday night aside,
I got to tell you, fellows,
I couldn't speak for the first five minutes of that hockey game.
I was at the Bell Center,
and I'm standing.
I got Mike Johnson on my left.
I got the O-Dog on my right.
And those two guys are almost weeping.
Like they literally are overwhelmed with the motion of what we're seeing here
in sheer disbelief.
So, I mean, when you look back at all of it,
and then, of course, you know, you've got the,
the overtime winner scored by McDavid,
just from a national perspective.
And then from an event standpoint, best case,
absolute wildest dreams of the National Hockey League
and the Players Association that this played out the way it did
from beginning to end with all the drama on ice
and all the nonsense off the ice.
It all boiled into this national rivalry,
which I don't think that Batman and Marty Walsh
and everyone associated had any clue would get to,
to the point that he got to.
Well,
Rhett was saying it's,
it's a,
kind of an evil genius,
back-channeling Trump.
Politically,
he was down at the Mar-a-Lago,
making sure Trump put some stuff out to cause some terror.
So,
not in the tournament's over, Gary.
Well,
fellas,
there is a bit of a backstory here
and how much
Batman was involved
as opposed to Deputy Commissioner,
Bill Daley,
or both.
I mean,
they kind of work hand in hand.
I mean,
clearly daily is Gary's right-hand dude,
and you've got Walsh and Ron Hainsey from the Players Association.
But this concept was basically thrown at NHL owners.
Oh, by the way, we're doing this.
It's going to be in February.
We're shutting down the league.
There is a risk of your top players getting hurt,
which we experienced here.
But it's a jump start.
We're boosting the international calendar.
here we go.
And there was some pushback.
There was.
There were some owners that are like,
I don't think this is a good idea.
It's not best on best.
It's best on best available.
So we're manufacturing an event and the risk to us as owners.
If my star goalie goes down,
my top center goes down,
one of my best defensemen and Shethy or goes down,
I'm going to have some issues.
But,
I mean,
that's the risk that.
Are they still saying that out?
Are they still,
like,
would there be owners?
obviously there's guys that got hurt.
Are there owners out there, even with the success that we can all see,
would criticize what they've done?
Probably not because, again, I, you know, when you're a billionaire,
chances are you made some mistakes along the way to get to that.
I mean, you're a risk taker.
That's, you know, that's how you kind of encourage and develop enormous wealth.
But they also like to mitigate risk when they get to that level.
And that was what it was all about.
a pushback. It wasn't about, you know, manufacturing a spectacle. You know, these owners want as many
eyeballs as they possibly can. Don't forget, they're in the midst of a negotiation here for their
national television rights. Like, Rogers' exclusivity window closes in a week, end of February.
For negotiating. Yeah. Well, I mean, they have exclusive. Right. Yeah, they have exclusivity.
And then Bell, whoever else wants, you know, can can come in. So,
A bit of a boon?
Yeah, perhaps.
Because when you've got fans and media outside of the sport of hockey salivating over what went down last Saturday night at the Bell Center in Montreal, I mean, you can't buy that kind of advertising.
Betman has been looking for that with the Amnets, the American networks, forever, forever.
I mean, when's the last time we saw, you know, let's use ESPN as the example here?
I mean, their sport shows with the National Hockey League,
which in essence it is, right?
It's, you know, it was a four nations faceoff,
but all-star NHL players, you know, leading shows.
And then you go deeper in.
And then you've got reaction from P.K. Sue, man, you got reaction from Messi.
I mean, this is the stuff that Batman and NHL owners dream of.
I saw Stephen A. Smith on ESPN this morning.
He said he was on that flight, east west, west, east, whatever, cross-cut.
he says every TV was on the hockey game.
Yeah.
In the plane, which is crazy.
And to capture the casual American sports fan is huge because I think we don't understand
how fourth place this league is in the U.S.
Like there is not an American market where the hockey team is the biggest team.
There is.
I mean, there'd be high school football games that would outrate an NHL game.
And then on top of that, you're seeing this international fervor.
So not only just sports fans in North America, but, you know, like people all over the world.
Like, we've got a fan that watch the,
the show in Australia's like they're talking about it on radio here they never
like this was a huge event for the sport you look at these buffoons exactly oh they love it
yeah oh mike look at these go there'll be some big some big high level meetings how do we capitalize
on this momentum how do we keep this moving forward yeah because it's undeniable you're
ever they could not have hoped there's no if you would have thrown this on the table well here's
what could pot potentially happen if we do this so here's so here's
Here's boomer to that point.
Here's my hope.
And it's not an expectation.
It's just dream world.
You know, we're going into the final leg of the regular season and obviously the playoffs.
Well, naturally, the intensity is going to hype up when the playoffs roll around.
I hope that every player that wasn't at the Four Nations watch some of it and a good chunk of it.
And recognized, you know, aside from the shenanigans of last Saturday, just the pace of play.
I bumped into Sydney Crosby last Friday,
and this was, of course, prior to, you know,
the game against the Americans,
and I said, you know,
what's been the most surprising thing?
That's still relatively early in the tournament.
And he goes, man, how fast it is, the pace.
And he goes, the only thing I can equate it to
is the Stanley Cup final or an Olympic tournament.
Like, that's it.
And so maybe in that,
and I don't want to go into the international rabbit hole
because, you know, there are still some battles that need to be waged between the double IHF, the National Hockey League of the Players Association.
Could that impact the Olympics?
All of that will be reported on in the days to come.
But, you know, the double IHF has insisted a September tournament as opposed to stopping play in the European federations in February.
You're not getting the same level of pace of play in September.
You know, guys don't want their summers cut short at all.
So, wait, we're going to go back to the 1987 Canada Cup
when Mike Keenan dragged those poor bastards into training camp
like three weeks in advance of the, like, that's not happening.
That's not the real world.
So I'm hoping that, you know, the players who weren't working on their suntans,
deservedly so, did watch some of the hockey.
And the pace that we're going to see with at least some of the 14 games
that are back on the regular season schedule tomorrow,
are going to represent some of what we saw.
We were really worried about the Feb Times slot.
And I think that was probably overstated
when you see how much of a quiet spot it is on the sports calendar.
Like baseball hasn't started spring training.
They're just reporting nobody cares.
Football is done, done, done.
And the NBA regular season is mad to begin with.
Brilliant call.
And so, well, we were like, shit, if it's good,
you can always move to September.
Now I'm like, I think that's February,
because the whole world went nuts over this thing.
Yeah, yeah.
And again, you do have to defer to the player
because the Players Association is a partner in this
with the National Hockey League.
And, you know, the stars of the game,
the faces of the sport convened in Montreal
and in Boston, they gave it their everything.
Absolutely gave it their everything.
They're going to do the same thing at the Olympics.
And they'll do the same thing at the World Cup of Hockey, I think,
in 2008.
but they've already embraced the investment required
and not for that short period of time,
not for the tournament on the Four Nations face off,
everything else,
like they don't practice anymore
because the schedule is so condensed.
So these guys are finally tuned
when they come out of training camp, boom, let's go.
And they're now conditioned and programmed physically and mentally
to deal with the rigors and just how difficult it is
to get to that regular season.
So February makes so much.
much sense now you get something well i was going to ask you got guys that are getting injured
teams in first place it sucks but it's not as big a deal who's who's got the bumps and bruises
that are it's going to go back like a like a brady chucked that's got to go back to ottawa
try and keep that that that alive right some of these guys would have the yeah like i don't think
Pittsburgh's putting a push on now maybe i'm wrong bossby could have some down time right they're
are players that give a little bit of a rest or even if they are hurt,
it doesn't affect your playoff hopes as much.
No.
There's a group of teams that they can't sacrifice.
I mean, yeah, I'm looking at Ottawa.
I'm looking at Boston.
You know, I mean, Charlie McVoy is an enormous loss.
And they've got Lindholm who's who's also injured, right?
And McVoy is going to be a while.
I mean, we all see them.
We saw them on social media, you know, read the line.
up to Team USA going into that one with a sling on his right shoulder.
So he's going to need a little bit of time.
You know, Brady didn't look great walking in, but, you know, he played the game that Brady
Cachuk normally plays, very physical, right?
Didn't seem to be hampered.
Ottawa needs the best of Brady Cichuck to lock down, stay in the playoff hunt.
They absolutely do.
And then you look beyond that.
And, you know, Florida is, there's no jeopardy of Florida missing the playoffs, but they
want to win the division.
it matters they prove that it that it matters i think matthew's going to be a while i think that one's a
problem um i don't i've heard rumblings of what it is and i'm i'm not going to repeat it um because
yeah it did it could be a lengthy situation uh he was likely to see florida doctors today or
worst case tomorrow um you know you take matthew could chuck out of the equation for however long
That's pretty big hole.
And then Shea Theodore, we already talked about,
and we don't entirely know if Alex Petrangelo is going to be healthy
as they get their regular season back on track.
So even the top end teams, you know,
they could feel the pain and suffering of this.
And you were saying that could set up a LTIR.
Yeah, imagine Florida with another 9 million drags.
Like everyone gets mad at a criminal when he does it.
But he was not afraid.
It'll be the quick shift here.
as teams now, okay, trade deadline is right away.
How do we address their teams for sure?
Well, and where are you shopping, you know,
in terms of what department here, the high rent district,
or you're just trying to, Florida is not leaving cap space.
No, none of the contending teams are.
Like, you know, we look at Vegas because we're more recently reminded
of what Vegas has had to go through with Mark Stone and all of that
and how they remedied.
And before that, it was Nikita Kutrov and the Tampa,
Bay Lightning. So I recorded the pod with Ray Ferraro earlier today. And while we're recording
an NHL club exec who shall remain unnamed sent me a note. And he said,
what do you think the percentage chance is that Doug Armstrong tries to parlay the success
around Jordan Bennington? And I'm like, ooh, okay. You know, why not, right? Why wouldn't you?
You know, I mean, we've been talking about the idea of, and the reason I bring it up is because we've been talking about the idea, rightfully so, Braden Chen potentially being in play.
He's a captain in the St. Louis Blues.
If Army decides that now is the time that they've got to renovate, well, there's two assets that probably aren't going to command more than they will right now with some of the contenders that may have significant need, injury or otherwise.
if Jordan Bennington can give you that game,
that game that he played last night on a team like,
I don't know, Peckett Edmonton, L.A. might need some goaltending attention.
I mean, you can come up with a few other teams here, right?
You know, it's a big if, but he does now have that resume.
I know that 2019 is six years ago,
but just walk down that path with Craig Barouba, which I did the other day,
and he'll tell you that they, they,
They probably don't win the Winnipeg series.
You know, they, the, the, was a game seven against Dallas overtime.
He came up big there.
You know, game seven against the Boston ruins and the Stanley Cup final held them alive in that first period.
Sure, there's been a lot of trouble in between, but evidently he still has plenty of game left.
So we'll see what Armstrong and the St. Louis Blues do, if anything, with the guy like that.
Two years left at six.
That's suddenly not long.
Modified, no trade.
Yeah.
It's not,
no,
it's a million more than Joey Decord.
Let's go.
Yeah.
Just a little bit.
Yeah.
And Kevin Lankan,
who we'll talk about in,
but with the Bennington thing,
it is amazing that how quickly it changes,
24 hours ago,
we wouldn't be talking about him being a valuable asset to trade for
necessarily.
But how would you have had,
because John Cooper,
again,
Masterclass,
you won,
you did it the right way.
Would you have gone Bittington the whole way?
What would you have done if you're,
if you're in the coach's shoes.
Well, you know, I wouldn't have.
You know, after the U.S. game, and it would have been unfair because there was no run support
there for Jordan Bennington in that game either.
But in the first couple of games, he was a bit leaky.
And in short tournament like that, you give up a bad goal here or there, and that can be
the difference.
But I said this last night post game in our coverage.
maybe that's part of what factors into being the Stanley Cup champion,
both as a player as a goalie and ultimately as a coach,
because I'm reminded of what John Cooper said
when he made the decision that Jordan Minnington was going to be a starting goalie,
and he said he's got fire in his belly.
I just love the compete.
And fuck, I mean, with all due respect to Aden Hill,
it's not like he was on top of his game coming into Four Nations either.
But is that one of those ingredients as part of that recipe for success that you don't know unless you've experienced and you've seen it firsthand as a head coach?
And maybe that's what Cooper in doing his research saw in Jordan Bennington.
So I was a bit surprised.
But, you know, I don't think that Aiden Hill did a great job of pushing the scenario.
He wasn't given a chance at the Four Nations.
but coming in, I mean, I don't think that, you know, there was a real march by him to say,
okay, you know, since you name the roster, I'm now proving that I'm the better of the two.
That wasn't the case.
Because I thought it was a cool moment.
They showed the embrace between Cooper and Bittington.
And you just think for Binnington, you were the, you were the one guy.
Yeah.
Who believed in me and stuck with me.
Yeah.
And I did.
And for the coach, like, I stuck with you and you came through for me.
Because everybody thought I was maybe crazy for stick away.
Pretty cool moment there for those two guys.
Did you see, you guys probably watched the pregame.
I mean, I don't know if you watched the Canadian version or the American version.
I watched the Canadian version.
And Elliot did a sit down with both goalies.
And I found it a bit humorous, but also telling.
You know, as all the shenanigans were unfolding Saturday night,
I mean, somewhat fun approach question angle was, did you ever consider, you know, racing down the sheet?
but in Bennington's case, it's a fair question because he's a fiery dude, man.
The wires will touch with him.
And he was just like, no.
And Hellebuck wouldn't even go there.
Like, he was just like, what?
What are you talking about?
But anyway, I mean, I think it's not a turning point in his career because he's decorated
to this point, but you think it's easy staring down at Connor Hellebuck,
expecting that, okay, he's going to win another Vesna Troph.
And then you flip it, and we chewed on this off air as a group wondering,
okay, well, what about that chorus of naysayers that think that, yeah,
Hellibook's regular season numbers are stellar.
He can't win the big game and he doesn't win the big series.
Is that a fair criticism?
And I didn't think it was, even though we've heard and we've all talked about that in the past.
You know, and I don't know of the goals from last night that beat him,
any of them his fault
and the answer to that would be no
or probably not
but
Jordan Bennington saved
the game
with the game on the stick of Austin
Matthews in overtime
made three terrific saves
in overtime and one
was obviously better than the other guy who's one of
Esden is going to win another one.
Who's, you mentioned Bennington
is there another player that you just think
wow this tournament
is a changing moment in the way that the hockey world perceives them
or is a coming out party or that,
this guy doesn't have it anymore.
Like we're already starting to see the,
give us your Mock Olympic roster this morning,
which is, you know, hilarious and fun.
But for you who really move the needle either way.
Well, in a positive sense, Thomas Harley.
You know, I mean, he's a good young defenseman.
But I wouldn't have had Thomas Harley on my bingo card
coming into this event.
And now I'm thinking about,
and I'm sure Hockey Canada management is,
hey, we got to watch this guy for the Olympic team, you know.
And imagine what he faced coming in.
You know, like I was in Montreal at the practice facility in Broussard,
where, you know, he's like a kid standing behind the bench in the hallway,
just fully geared up, like, yeah, can I go out on the ICAT coach?
Like, I mean, come on, it was bonkers.
And then he ends up having a play, right?
and was terrific in that game against the United States.
He maybe wasn't quite as clean and crisp to start yesterday,
but still had a very, very, very good game.
And the other one, you know, we do Ottawa Senators games regionally.
So I watch Jake Sanderson a lot.
I think he's going to be a star in the NHL.
I mean, he's made him early.
They knew.
Yeah.
You're seeing that's not surprising the Sends at all.
No, no, it's not.
And then, you know, it's an unfair ass to have to come in
and replace Charlie McAvoy.
but Sanderson's no slouch.
So those are two guys.
You know, if I were going to be overly critical,
I would say we've probably seen the last of Sorrelli
on the international scene.
As an example,
I got to hope and believe that Canada is going to have younger players.
It's all right for me.
Just plug them right in.
Exactly.
Exactly.
And, you know, Crosby's going to be on the Olympic team,
as he should be.
He didn't look as crisp yesterday.
Like we knew he was he was banged up coming into the Four Nations and he just he didn't have that same physical pop or drive.
And so whatever he's got going on, I think was starting to wear on him going into that final.
I was just going to say it's an interesting one for, but we'll move on for Winnipeg because your goalie lost in overtime.
Morrissey couldn't play because he was sick.
Connor was a healthy scratch.
Sheifley didn't go.
not a big exciting tournament for all those Jets players that ended up going.
Yeah.
I didn't get the Kyle Connor decision.
I didn't.
I know that he had a quiet tournament, right?
He did.
I mean, Mitch Marner scores the overtime winner against the Swedes.
But aside from that, he was super quiet, you know, playing with the best player in the game.
And Connor McDavid for the first couple of games.
And then they give him another opportunity and he was terrific last night when it mattered.
you know, Kyle Connor is one of the best shots in the sport, period.
Like, you couldn't use that with all due respect to Chris Kreider.
I mean, you know, if it's, if you feel you need Kreider in that lineup for whatever reason,
find somebody else.
Brock Nelson wasn't undeniable.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
There were some guys you could have moved around.
I agree with that.
So that one surprised me.
That one surprised me.
Signing today in Vancouver.
Hey, Kevin Like.
Good for you.
Like we've been trotting out Joey DeCord's name.
I didn't know you were sought after or rats on a big money long-term deal.
Five years, $4.5 million per for Lankton.
He's got a full no move in the first couple of years, a 15 team no trade the rest of the way.
I guess two things.
Thoughts on the deal and thoughts of this goalie.
And we kind of kicked it around before we started.
How much of this is a reaction for what's happening with Thatcher Demko, injury-wise?
I think a lot of it.
And that's being respectful of what Kevin Lankin
has provided to the Vancouver Canucks
because they pulled this guy off a scrap heap.
Who's kidding? Who?
I mean, right place at the right time
if you're Kevin Lankinen.
But, you know, in the absence of Thatcher Demko,
he gave them quality goaltending. Without quality
goaltending, the Vancouver Canucks
are in a real ugly fight right now.
Coming into the final push here.
So I would say,
that he's earned this deal.
It was interesting, though.
So I remember checking in before the Four Nations break with the agent, Todd Diamond and Mark
Gantler, and ask you, where are you in this process?
And the response was, eh, you know what?
We're kind of on and off.
We're having preliminary talks that kind of go back all the way back to mid-January or so,
but nothing that would be considered front burner.
And then it sounds like in the last couple of days, Patrick Galveen and the Vancouver
Knoch said, okay, we better get that.
this done. And now,
were they going to do that anyway?
Do they have internal information
on
Thatcher Demco that we haven't been apprised
of yet? I don't know.
But when I think of the comps,
I mean, based on what these other guys
have signed for, Joey DeCord,
McKenzie Blackwood, Logan
Thompson just got his deal done. You had
Lukinen. So there was a number
of comps that the agents were able
to push to management
in Vancouver and say, okay, well, if I
year is the term that everyone else seems to be comfortable.
So we're good with that.
I think he actually would have wanted a little bit more money, believe it or not.
I think five times five would have probably been what the player had started at.
And then you come back at four and a half.
So I think it's a pretty good deal if you're Kevin Lankin.
So and Demko's up in a year.
He is one year left at five million.
There's the injury stuff, but then there's also the, because this is the summer you'd extend
him if he's your guy.
Right.
It kind of sounds like they've made the decision.
he's not going to be their guy.
Like you can't pay a backup
four and a half. Yeah. Demko, if he's
right, is going to command seven
to ten. Yeah.
It feels like this has been
you've written the end of
Demco as a Canuck into the next
16 months. I don't know that
to be true, but the way you explain it makes
sense. And we've talked about that, you know,
kind of privately as a group here as well.
It does feel like Vancouver
is open to possibilities.
pretty much at every position, right?
I mean, we know that they're scouring looking for a centerman.
You know, last time we spoke,
I think we were a little bit unsure as to what the next move
might be with Elias Pedersen.
Well, did you see him play for Sweden at the Four Nations?
Like, you know, and I, look, I'm not burying the kid.
There's still time left in the regular season.
He can still make an impact, you know,
in locking things down, maybe make an impact in the postseason.
but if he doesn't, what does that tell you?
You know, that has to be enough for Canucks management to go.
May come back to Burn us if this guy all of a sudden finds his spark,
but it doesn't appear like it's going to be in Vancouver.
So we need to utilize whatever asset he is.
And on top of that, the cap space that comes along with the transaction.
We're going to, no, I'm not saying that this is going to happen between now and March 7th.
It's possible.
But you can drift that into the offseason and then retool.
And maybe that's where the Democom.
conversation comes in as well.
But you better get a goalie back.
You know, you're going to need something with a little bit more
stability unless you feel like you've covered all your bases up on it.
There you go.
There you go.
Yeah, two four nations golers are great.
We're talking about Demko, what, who?
Yeah.
You know, kind of similarly to the Pedersen name,
it's a little bit different, but Ranton and shows up in Carolina,
hasn't been great, goes to the Four Nations, wasn't great,
still doesn't have a deal.
Do you get the sense that a deal gets done there?
Or could this just be another Gensel will ride him to UFA
and get the cap money back at the end?
Yeah, well, that wouldn't be the preference of the Carolina hurricanes.
I mean, they made that trade, hoping that in time they could convince him to stay long term.
And I got to believe that's the expectation.
I mean, for me, this just looks like transitional pain, right?
I mean, Miko Ranton, as he openly talked about,
did not see this coming.
He didn't see that trade happening.
He thought that there was going to be an ongoing negotiation, and then there wasn't.
There wasn't.
And that's Colorado making a decision that whatever they thought his lowest number was going
to be, it was still too much for them to have to pay with Kail McCarer coming up right
around the corner.
So I think, and Brandon probably wouldn't admit this, he did look a little bit rattled
and has looked a bit rattled since that trade.
So he's going to take his time.
That's the feedback that I keep getting from his camp.
He's going to take his time.
He may wake up if they have a good playoff push and go, yep, this is my home.
I got buddies on this team.
Let's get it done.
I'm not so sure.
But, you know, I can tell you, the lineup for teams that would be interested in Miko Ranton is going to be significant.
What makes our, if you have Rantman and Marner or either one of those guys in play on July 1st.
Wow.
There'll be some serious buzz around the national hockey.
And it's not inconceivable.
It's a growing cap too.
Everyone's got money to spend.
I love it.
It's been so long.
I guess last one, before we let you go, we're going to start, well, we're very excited
for the Sharks Flames game on Sunday.
Big ones.
After the, you know, the excitement of last night, we're just assuming it's going to pick
right back up at the dome on Sunday.
Flames are three back of Vancouver.
And with the Miller-Peterson thing, Donne and Peterson hasn't been
great. Now the Demko. Demko thing. We're very curious to see what Conroy and the flames are going to do.
They have a very difficult road trip coming up. The deadline will hit while they're on the road trip.
Yeah. But I wonder if you're Conroy, I mean, we don't know. There's the macro, the micro,
do you look at what's happening in Vancouver and think? We now have, we have a better shot than we maybe did in the
first place because they're only three back. Yeah. Or do you continue to look big picture? I think you have.
to continue to look big picture. I mean, anytime you try and react to a situation,
somebody else's especially, you're opening yourself up for a mistake. And nobody's
throwing Craig Conroy, a life preserver here. You know, they're like, okay, well, you made a
pretty good deal with the Philadelphia Flyers and bringing in two NHL players. So if you still
feel like you need help up the middle of the ice, here's what it's going to cost, right? And
And, you know, maybe that changes as we creep closer to March 7th.
I think that there's an interest from Conroy and Management's perspective to add, you know, to add.
But, you know, it has to come with an appreciation for next year or the year after that.
You know, when you get into that, that buying mode, then you better be absolutely sure that your team is strong enough to face the storm.
And maybe they are.
maybe they're not.
So I think he's still a tweener somewhere between.
He's not a seller,
but somewhere between being an aggressive buyer and just simply a buyer.
It's the deal probably that makes a difference, right?
Like if you're getting a good return on, you'll stop.
Or if you're getting a good value, you'll.
Well, hey, I'll tell you.
I mean, look, I mean, those Buffalo rumors, like,
they're not fabricated out of Toronto.
They're not.
I mean, if, if Kevin Adams picks up the phone and calls Connie and says,
you know what?
Yeah, we're going to make a move on Dylan Cousins.
But here's what I need back from you, whatever that package is.
And it's a hockey deal that Conroy can make sense of.
He's going to do it.
He's going to do it because, I mean, it's almost can't lose from Calgary's standpoint
because you're getting a player who can help you get into that playoff spot, right?
And a player is going to help you do something in the playoffs.
then next year and then you get them extended when the time is up he's a heck of a hockey player so
that's why i'm afraid to close the door when it comes to calgary and a big opportunity if adams
calls and says because conroy's been the most persistent or among the most persistent in staying in
tune with buffalo and if it's if it's if it's not dylan cousins maybe it's something else but
there's there's definitely a connection between those two clubs that's long standing here
it's going to be tough to get hype for this stretch run for some of these two weeks to the deadline

It's good parenting.

reduced snoring, non-surgical, pain-free.
You can throw it onto your benefits there, get that covered.
Why wouldn't you do it?
Dr. J. Patel made a big investment a few years ago in that solea laser,
and it has been paying off for not just himself with business,
but also for his customers, patients.
Oh, yeah.
They can't afford haircut.
Including that caveman, whoever that is.
Yeah, whoever that is.
So outdoor.
Dot Dental is the website.
Go and see Dr. J and experience technology in your mouth.
What are them?
Sam squanges.
That's right.
Something like that.
Because a lot of people, I avoid the dentist because I, it's a lot of people have a phobia.
Maybe it's a bit of phobia.
It's just, rather, don't do it.
Get your teeth, take care of.
The whole mouth.
And you'll go in there and be, well,
laser sounds better than axe and chisels.
And it is.
You'd be right if you thought that.
If you thought that.
Outdoor.
Dot dental.
Go see Dr. J.
Get that story figured out.
All of a sudden,
you're sleeping better.
You're not waking up halfway through the night.
Better quality sleep,
deeper sleep,
people around you sleep and better.
You're in a better mood.
They're in a better mood.
It's a way,
no,
no, no, no,
it really is.
You're on the clock.
I saw this morning.
34 days until opening day.
I've had some unique conversations
with people about what that could look like and how much risk.
Exactly.
I need to get McLeod Law looped in on this one.
I feel like, because we've talked in the past about the 9-99,
nine dogs, nine beers, nine innings.
Yeah.
I feel like this is something, we're far enough out.
We can set some things out.
We've got great partners of Richmond.
Great partners.
It's a one o'clock Thursday, March 27th.
We're 28th.
It's one of those two dates.
Right.
Baltimore is in our Baltimore host Toronto and I'll be very thirsty because it's been so long since we've had baseball.
Yeah.
And things are looking so up in the Blue Jays universe.
You know how excited I'll be to get right into it.
Yeah, big year on the way.
Would you, would you tackle a nine, nine nine?
So it's nine innings, nine hot dogs, nine beers.
I've done the nine beers.
I've done the nine innings many times.
the hot dogs I'm curious about.
That's the true test of a man.
If it's,
and we're just going to do a standard dog.
I don't need any.
I would say like standards,
just like what you would get at a ballpark.
Doesn't need to be.
Not a big foot law,
not a big thing,
just a steam dog in a bun.
Jack?
Put my name down.
I'm in.
Are you in 34 days?
Because I think we need to start.
Training.
We'll start the training right away.
We can take some footage.
We can see what you're doing
behind the scenes to ready yourself for this.
I'm going to kill me.
Again.
I'm going to say, don't.
I don't.
Ooi,
here's the things I don't worry about in order.
Nine beers.
No,
not a worry.
Last thing the nine innings.
Potentially.
Distracted.
Yeah,
you know,
you get sleepy.
Nowhere near the top of the list.
I get very sleepy,
but then it's the dogs that I do worry about.
How many dogs have you had in the past year?
Less than nine.
Yeah.
And you get the Costco dogs.
They're the bigger ones.
Just like the.
The normal dogs.
They come in the vacuum pack.
Ball, Frank.
Not looking, I want you to succeed, not fail.
I'm putting you in a position to win here.
Yeah, I think we do it.
We drill it.
And then next year we had another nine, like nine holes that morning.
Yeah.
Are you dipping?
Are you doing the,
are you dipping?
No, no.
No, if I was doing 99 dogs, you need to dip.
No, I'm not dipping.
I'm fine.
Jack, for you, sorry, I know you're doing something there.
Yeah, I'm good.
Could we throw you into this as well?
Would you be up for a 999?
I would crush the 999.
Oh, whoa, just like that.
Are we, no, I didn't know that about Jack.
I'm not concerned about the beer with me.
I am curious whether these are pints or cans or burn or blonde tallboys.
The amount of booze is for Jack.
I've seen, uh, what do you mean?
You did very well at Christmas, but I've seen other days that did not go as well.
Like Jasper, you were.
Oh, well, yeah, I mean, I'll be hung over a shit, but I can get through the beers.
That's not the problem.
Okay.
Because we pushed a pint per eating pace and a pints, not a beer.
Because I agree.
I think whatever your bottle slash can of beer, regular sized hot dog, nine innings.
Let's do it.
I'm in.
Yeah.
There's logistics to figure out.
Well, see, we've got a month to figure it out.
Yeah.
We're going to need like a.
Jack's got that hot dog thing.
Get the hot dog roller.
The toaster.
The toaster.
And we do need to let Richmond's zone.
It's kind of like SeaWorld.
There's going to be like a five foot radius where this is the splash zone.
If you step in here, like we're not liable.
What's what the velvet is?
Are we not allowed to approach?
It's like trust me you don't want to get closer than this.
This is Shamu's spray zone.
Like it could be vomit.
It could be beer.
Catchups.
It's for your safety.
Now what are your thoughts?
Not saying you need to participate.
It's a 1 p.m. start.
I love it.
I would never be able to do it.
What would be the hard part?
Both.
All of it.
I would get bloated, fast.
I wouldn't be able to handle.
I can't drink.
Nine beers.
There's a lot of beers.
I applaud people.
I applaud people who can drink a lot of beers because I don't, my buddy Tom, Tom,
Dobbin, great guy.
That guy, just try and stop him.
If he has nothing in front of them in terms of schedule or anything to do, it's just deleting.
Just backspace and beers.
And I don't know where it goes.
Don't put Richards up there.
Any part of this.
I think this is a hit.
What else do they got Thursday at 1 p.m?
They have some hens coming in to play bridge.
This is going to be a smash hit.
I'll see.
I look at their rage here.
Does it say anything about it?
They may not even serve hot dogs.
I'm not sure.
Let's talk to the chef.
That's fine.
But it's a lot of stuff.
It's a lot of stuff.
What would we do?
I don't cheer a lot.
Do what you want.
Burn Vladdy's jersey.
I mean,
we got a lot of six,
five.
Because that is the other thing.
There might be in an actual establishment where they would say,
well, we can't have people coming in here and
excessively drinking,
eating.
I would say nothing there's excessive of some perspective.
They offer hot dogs at,
so you're telling me from 1 p.m. until the end of the day that some,
you couldn't delete a beer an hour.
But I also want you to enjoy it because I don't,
if we could do it here,
we could do it somewhere else,
but you like that pop atmosphere with the TVs.
Like you get at Richmond.
Well,
and opening day is my day.
I've sent you the videos.
I've got to see if I've,
if Jack could get this one.
But I thought rather than,
because we do miss on things a little.
bit and it's oh we should have thought of that ahead opening day 999 you get you in full gear
do you have pants and cleats and stuff or do because we can find some of that for you yeah i want
you done it up i think this is uh well i have the picture from well no this is a better video than
the picture you have i'm sending this to jack right now i think i've seen this one actually now that
yeah now that i recall it's a classic though it's it's probably a little bit of cTE you got to play
the hit. You got to play the hits. I think we had a good run going of opening day being a
total mess on the calendar. And then one of the opening days fell and it was like, yeah, it's a
matinee and then I'll go home and then we'll go away for the weekend. And that's no good.
Bicycle was way too hard a job for me. And that is a problem. It's hit a pole.
home and is like, what is going on?
You're supposed to be packed and ready to get out the house.
There's a dog at Richmond's.
Guess how much?
How much?
Nine.
Nine, nine, nine.
Come on now.
Come on now.
So this would have been,
how long ago is this?
I got my macho man.
This is probably three to five opening days ago,
probably three or four years ago.
The hair will tell us.
It's probably pre-pandemic if we look at the hair length.
Then we win.
I mean who wouldn't sign up for more of that that's not obnoxious at all yeah I'm not going that is that nice video it sent it to me that's Pinder in his natural habitat oh we had brusty it was a good crew the other table was hooting and holler over you're hooting it all we're hooting it all right we're hooting and hollard they had like five home runs we were doing the pint per inning pace and then people were bringing jameson shots or home runs out see that's the other thing we would have to have some discipline
there because no shot rule you're going to be grand slam only shot i get another one this inning's going
a little bit long although i guess it yeah i do wonder about that are you allowed to start the next thing i think
so because some of these are quick right i would leave it loose as long as you hit the nine yeah someone
has an immaculate inning nine pitches you're like that's not enough time that's not fair yeah i should be
able to average it out i heard some guys on a podcast hot guy did seven before the anthem oh not a good
idea no he did not have the staying power couldn't handle for the hot that was hot dogs
I'm going to get these hot dogs out of the way.
No, you're not.
Banged seven down fast.
Where does he think they're going?
I don't know.
Get them out of the way.
You're getting them in the way.
Throw a belly full of beer in there.
We'll maybe get our legal staff on it to see it.
It's peaking aloud.
Talk to Shane King and Peter.
I'm not sure how excited rich ones would be necessarily.
We might have to take that back.
We're going to need some willing participants in this, but 34 days.
That's amazing.
Will there need to be?
You don't need to train for this, Jack?
We could do this anytime.
No, Jack.
Yeah, I'm good to go.
Okay.
Yeah.
What about you?
No, good.
I mean, what?
Do I need to train eating hot dogs?
No, I just, like I did that stupid nugget eating thing.
You didn't do well there, though.
Oh, but that was way more food.
Oh, I don't know.
Is it?
I don't think so, right?
How long was that?
90 minutes?
Well, it was as long as you needed it to be.
But no, it was the pace.
It just hit a wall after.
Well, I was going to say it was very sad to watch.
Because pain.
But I do feel like those little dogs,
it's a less quantity and double the time.
Like, I'm not saying it's going to be easy.
It'll be easier is what I'm thinking.
I have found, and this was kind of my,
this might be my pro tip.
Yeah.
Because we were kids or younger having birthday parties.
We made hot dogs, but we were doing it offsite.
We were going somewhere.
So make the hot dogs at home.
And we wrap them in tin foil and put them in the thing to keep warm.
and just the moisture,
the condensate.
Soften the bun enough,
made it much easier.
I would say you need some sweaty buns.
I don't want any crusty dry buns.
No big chabada buns.
No,
get out of here.
Fokasha buns.
Can't have that.
It's too much.
I don't even mind some dog hanging out each end.
Less bun is better.
Moist small bun.
Yeah.
Trust me,
I like seeing you in misery.
Yeah.
But for this,
I want you to win.
Or at least get that misery right at the end.
A real crescendo.
to the finish.
Yeah, it makes me.
The closer comes in and I got a hammer a dog and a beer.
Like, oh, no, strike out.
So that video turned you right off, eh?
Pinder.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that was.
Oh, again, that was a lot.
Oh, in a short period.
Kept getting worse, kept escalating.
Yeah.
But it ended after the headbutt into the table.
So what Pinders really like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you don't want to go full Pinders.
Never go full.
You don't go full.
under. Safeway has started up their new, and I know we threw it out there yesterday.
Yeah.
But because there was no games, we're going to get going.
It's the Safeway, My NHL picks contest.
Lock them in.
Weekly chance for you to win big prizes.
Every Thursday, they open up.
It's the full week of games until the following Wednesday night.
You pick five.
You could win a trip for four to a 2025 NHL season opener of your choice.
So season opener is going to be first week of October.
Yeah.
Where's the weather too hot, not hot,
enough what things are going on
Chicago in October? Yeah, maybe you
tie in something else. What I do you get some baseball
going there? Oh, baby.
Predict the winners of five matchups. Every you get a correct
pick gets you into a grand prize draw. There's scene
points, bonus entries, grocery offers. Get the
Safeway app is what you need.
Got it. Start playing today. No games
today. 14 tomorrow.
But so you get an extra, just
is it kind of a day in lieu? Who's going to have the biggest
four nation hangover? Yeah.
I'm not sure.
Player wise? Yeah.
like not injuries but just like oh boy
it has to be an American like I would be
not surprised at all if Bittington just gets
he might be a guy
he could be like yeah
you guys
I'll fight you
hey is that good enough for you
hey is that enough
yeah it might be him
all right let's get to the Pinder report
a presentation of Village Honda
they've got the Ridge line they've got the
North American car of the year.
Oh, a Honda Civic hybrid.
The touring CRV hybrid.
All in stock and ready to go.
The weather's warmed up.
Maybe you've been sitting inside and you're not leaving the house.
And maybe you decided with that cold weather.
Kind of like the Vancouver Canucks with Demko.
It's like we're tired of this Demko leaving us stranded on the side of the road.
Yeah.
We need to get some.
Maybe your vehicle was no good.
Maybe you got Demcoed by your vehicle.
Maybe you did.
It's time to go to Village, John.
I was going to say, get blank.
I don't know.
I feel like that's probably an insult to Honda, but nonetheless, maybe it's time to go to Honda and get yourself into a more reliable, newer, better smelling vehicle.
They all smell good there.
And the door.
Fumpp.
Rhyndt, Ryan Pindoo.
With the Fump Report.
Thank you for Village Honda.
What a game it was last night.
Let's cruise over to Flames Nation.com.
Our boy Flash is back.
Yeah, boy, these writers, right?
That's right.
Four nations beyond the bucks.
score. Canada remains the
kings of hockey after overtime
victory against USA.
If you're sitting in that American
room, you're probably going, you lucky
bastards.
Had you?
There was a moment in that game where it
felt like it was more than just
it was theirs to lose. Up to one.
Same script you saw on Saturday
with that decor, just flip it out and
make Canada try to get through your waves of defense.
There's the pitch.
No surprise Sid winning again.
He joins Wayne Gretzky is the only captain of multiple international championships with the same country.
I saw a stat this morning and it was, again, it's the internet.
In championships, Sidney Crosby is eight and three all time.
Jeez.
Lost in the MEMCup final when he was 17.
Stanley Cup final when he was 20 and won silver in 04 at the world juniors.
Whoa.
Everything else just gold wins.
So you don't win silver.
obviously, but that's a lot of hardware.
He'd have quite the...
Oh, man. He's got a wing.
And he's so bragy about it.
Yeah, enough, Sid.
Well, he's very Canada.
I mean, we do like to get a little, you know,
braggy about our hockey, but generally speaking,
more humble.
This guy is, you wouldn't know.
He's a humble Hank is what he is.
He's a real humble Hank.
Yeah.
Incredible stuff.
Okay, so that's all our said stuff.
Bennington was really quite the story here,
because he did not have a good tournament
until he basically won the tournament.
And here's a great tweet from Peter Baugh.
Yeah, he's a flawed goaltender,
but here are his numbers in winner takes all games.
Second round, game seven against Dallas,
one goal and 30 shots.
2019 Stanley Cup final in Boston,
that same building.
Game seven, cup in the line,
32 of 33.
And last night, 31 of 33 in overtime again,
three and O in winner take all games.
that's what John Cooper was betting on
and push chips in paid off huge.
He's got balls.
Yeah.
Peter Ball.
Peter Ball.
Something like that.
Happy for him, right?
Yeah.
Because, I mean, he was.
He was getting crushed.
They do the.
And not only did.
Softball over game.
It'd be one thing.
If he just won, he won them that game.
He made big.
Right?
Like it was, it was not just a, he was,
there for the ride.
It wasn't just a don't lose it for us.
He actually contributed hugely
to the win. Let's stay on the team
Canada stuff for a bit. So looking
at how many chances
were on each side, the nerds will do
some computer simulations. I've never
seen one this close. 50.5%
to 49.5. Now, again, that's
481 simulation. Whatever it is,
it's just like the way that played
out, it really was who was
going to get the single bounce
or who was going to get the one save or
who was going to get the one chance in the slot mac david buried his incredible
congrats canada you really owned congrats hey sean kelso yeah kelse was there so
happy for kelse a little it in that new hat that's right you love those hats here did you text
them bring you one no i don't want okay i had a whole crew at the house and every one of us was
like oh yeah why are they wearing blue plus that sweater that we showed last week or earlier this
week, that yellow.
I feel like he could have done better.
Yeah, this.
I was like that's the thing.
They messed up on this event.
Yeah, the sweater.
That was the big screw up.
The merch was no good.
The jerseys were great to your point.
There yeah, it's Friday, boys.
Hope you celebrating still.
I had all the kids, their buddies are at the house.
Oh, yeah.
School canceled tomorrow.
It's off.
Yeah.
I just got an email.
Yeah, I got the new national holiday.
What?
Yeah.
It's Crosby Day.
They're calling it.
And then they started booze.
The kids.
Just a few.
A European sort of mindset is slowly.
They couldn't drive.
Not like they were going to be drinking and driving.
We are so dumb.
Don Cherry would have loved it.
Who would have loved it more than Don last night.
Well, anyhow, that's the play of the game.
That's all I got to say.
We're the best.
Just like we said, we're going to be the best.
We're always who are the best.
No illegal goals to beat us now by ex-Canadians and everything.
We're the tops.
We always will be.
Remember that.
As you say.
That he doesn't let out F bombs when he's doing that stuff is kind of miraculous.
Would he be a big deal in Boston?
Oh, yeah, because he coached there.
He was, right?
They had a heartbreaking loss of the HABs.
They had a couple favorite teams there.
Yeah.
He would have been an interesting piece to bring in.
Yeah.
This guy to show.
Well, and we just showed his birthday. Was he 80?
I'm not sure.
90.
He's a year older than he was last year.
Correct. Good point by you.
What?
Yeah.
Well, the good news is that this wasn't a heated rivalry and social media wouldn't be irrational.
Incorrect.
Because last night, things got crazy on the socials.
Yeah, there's the kid.
Hey, Drake, that was the Canada.
Oh, Americans.
I remember on Saturday when you told us that you were better that?
The memes were exceptional last night.
Let's start to roll through.
There is the best in the world,
Feb 15 Tombstone, ending
Feb 20th, great five days USA
in Canada posing over the grave.
Very nice work on the memes.
Again, there's the Gulf of McDavid,
the true win.
They didn't care much for the trophy.
It was all about the Gulf.
Jack?
Dumb.
Poor Jack.
Got to roll through all these things.
I hate this so much.
That wasn't the only map that got thrown out last night
because he had this one.
Okay, don't mind that, sure.
Political cartoon.
Yeah.
Keep going.
Because we say A.
Hey.
The AI got things going there.
There's the goose.
Take here.
Huge underdogs.
Yeah.
And then there was more AI.
What was the other AI?
We had more because,
yeah, there is.
There's Sid,
you assume it's AI.
There's no telling.
Yeah, I don't know what the backdrop is there.
was that Montreal with the riots I missed?
It's hard to say.
Yeah.
Elsewhere, Trump did get wound into this thing.
He was, you know, it's Trump.
It's always about Trump.
So when Canada did beat the Americans, of course,
the memes started to, there he is running from the beaver,
the goose and the moose.
That's actually sounds like a kid's book.
It does, yeah.
Start writing the moose.
Trademark.
And there's another one here.
that's uh this is going to happen isn't it where it's like he's going to blame someone else for
let's see what's i don't know i just we got to pull up the image they're sure a lot of people that
it was rigged worked up all this stuff anyway the meme's exceptional what else have we got uh oh the hats
we got new hats you didn't like the merchrette we got you we got you a new hat this is better
than the canadian championship hats um yeah make america second greatest to oh jeer jeez she
There's a lot of that going around today.
The old internet.
The worst and the best all at the same time.
They've got things to say.
Yeah.
And then us, the humble, the, the, the, the humble, Canadians, not so humble in the
meme making, no, manufacturing.
We still are regionally manufacturing a lot of angry memes.
No, we're very awshuckie memes with everything except hockey.
Correct.
Last night was hockey, just in case anyone was confused.
NHL News, you saw Kevin Lankin and.
get re-upped. Oh, that's interesting. I mean, he, uh, he didn't have a deal September 1 and signed for
less than a million. I have the Kevin. You have the Kevin? I think I do have a Kevin.
Five years, four and a half million per. Not bad for a guy that, uh, needed an injury to get a job
in September for less than a million a year. Hey. Thank you. That's very good. Opportunity knocks for
Kevin. Now, are we worried that we've got a
pumping Johnson situation here
where, you know, for five months
Chad Johnson hung on 930 and we thought he was
It's possible. I'm not worried again.
You're trying to take the side of the
Canucks for some reason and find some
good. Yeah. I'm sorry.
We aren't worried. No.
Are you excited about the possibility
that this is intrigued by the op? The guy
that couldn't get a job in August is
now locked in for five years.
It's very, who's
the guy that ran the
cut oilers for a while.
No.
Is you really?
Yes.
This is Miko Koskinin again.
He's played 30 games.
He needs a three year deal.
Oh, Chia.
Wow.
Tita,
Tia.
Great poll.
It's interesting.
It's,
it is, sorry.
It feels fast.
Very fast.
Demco, week to week,
five year deal for a goalie.
Yeah.
Who has pads.
It doesn't feel
measured and patient, does it?
No. It'd be terrible if they
really kind of fouled up this J.T. Miller, Elias
Pedersen thing. And then they signed those two guys that they got in the trade
real quick. And now there's
awful if they'd... Demko's like, well, you just sign now.
I probably need to get out of here. And then Quinn is like,
all my American buddies Besser and Demko are gone. What the hell am I doing?
Yeah, I got to go. If they're a bunch of nervous Nellys and
Ancy Andes over there just sign and every... We better,
you know, geez! Better keep these guys.
it's Andy. Oh, geez.
Oh, geez.
It's terrible.
Meanwhile, the Calgary Flames will start with the sharks tomorrow.
By tomorrow, I mean Sunday, because tomorrow is still Saturday.
Some people watch, it could be tomorrow.
When you're watching.
Tomorrow's at times.
I don't know if there's a time.
Maybe why?
We'll see.
That is the one game that starts the Post Four Nations and the one game before
Huska nightmare.
Yes, it's the dreaded six game season.
and long road trip.
Oh, my God.
Tough team.
Tough team.
Tough team.
Yeah.
Tonda.
See what's kind of?
Kind of.
Kind of.
And then tough team.
Five cup contenders,
one back to back.
Three different time zones.
Jeez.
Two different times.
That's going to be a war for these guys.
And the day after the finale of the road trip in Dallas is the NHL's trade deadline.
Talk to us then.
We'll know.
Two weeks from today.
Yeah, we'll tell you that.
We'll tell you that.
Boy, we're going to know a lot by then.
So much.
So smart.
Ready.
Imagine what smart will be then.
14 games tomorrow,
Sharks and Flames on Sunday.
I do have some
Calgary Flames trivia.
Did you know this day?
Hey, did you know?
Hey, did you know?
Dude.
Mike Vernon.
First shout out is a flight,
Blake in Vancouver.
Oh, that boy, Vernie.
Dude.
86.
Look at that gear.
How heavy of those pads are at.
10 kilos each.
I love the blocker.
The block is a little waffle.
Total waffle board.
It's like a cheese grater or something.
I like that helmet, Jack.
It's pretty cool.
Yeah, it's the old Cooper,
which with the HM 30 mask,
I believe is what it is.
Got it.
God, it looks good.
Love you, Mike.
Thanks for coming on the drinking show.
Oh, boy, Mike.
I'll never say yes again, but we got them that one.
All fame.
All fame.
All favorite.
huge news for your Yankees.
Yeah.
Unbelievable, Red.
What?
I mean, you think you know something about an organization and then they completely
changed their entire identity.
They are now altering their facial hair policy.
Wow.
A big deal, apparently for general partner house time burner.
Apparently.
All right.
A lot of feedback.
Talking a lot of players.
Conversations of an ongoing internal dialogue that dates back several years.
The last is the last sentence is all you need to read for how embarrassing.
and ridiculous it is.
It's a long run on sentence.
It is the appropriate time to move beyond
the familiar comfort of our former policy.
You're allowed to have trimmed beards now.
Are you talking about?
Now is the time.
From the familiar comfort of our...
Could we go to a full shot of me and then,
Rhett?
Because, Dean, I need to know if these are...
I'm not sure.
If these are finely trimmed or manicured beards.
Yeah.
Stuff.
Look at this clean on the bottom there.
You know what?
Pigger, you've got, yeah, you're going to, you could be a Yankee.
Retro, sorry, we're going to need you to lift your head, lift your chin, go to the salon and get some of that neck beard cleaned up there.
Sorry.
There's the pinstrives.
And the other, it paid me all that money.
The New York Islanders, Lou Lamarillo, there's still no.
No, no beards, no long hair.
2025.
Like, is it the 70s?
Wasn't it Kyle Palmieri who got either traded or went there?
and he'd always had like a big, thick beard.
And that's, who's this guy that, that's Palmier?
You couldn't recognize him.
Yeah, he came to the Devils, right?
Yeah, it was like, like he was wearing a ski mask his entire career.
Just had this fluorescent white skin.
I still don't even understand how it's a thing.
Not part of the PA.
Like, what are we doing here?
It's just ridiculous.
Uh, Rett's a big biker.
Let's get into some of the highlights as you move into bike season here.
Start off.
Get your bike out?
Bike weather, yeah.
Yeah, here it is.
Now, this is funny because this is a race.
They can't fake the beep.
Got them, though.
Oh, really new.
Look at the look.
Jeez.
All it all timed up.
Did it be a rule against that.
That's, yeah, that happens to the Olympics.
I mean, you get kicked out.
Serious fines.
It's at home.
Punted from the Athletes Village.
Yeah, it could pay your way out of it.
Now, how's your shoulder feeling, right?
Because I saw this trick.
I was worried about it.
Let's, uh, no, this is under an overpass.
here you're going to pop up right behind that green thing here we go no that has to have
stepped on his arm you're going to do you're right no that's okay he's shoulder right back in that guy you've done it before that has to have not been the first
step on his arm pulled you know exactly what was happening jack is that how you do it hell no he'd be making those boomer noise
The noises this morning.
No, it's a different one.
Just a par,
just a paw, capful.
I'll get one more bike thing.
I think, always, yeah, lots of bikes.
God, I hope so.
Sick bike trick.
Yeah, look, that's really.
Dude.
That is.
Dude.
Oh, I was hoping for a.
Just a plank.
Look how you got.
kidding me how to get up there yeah the the the first on the uh whatever the two by four there is
pretty wow it's pretty great i think you could like get that front wheel in a basketball net that's
impressive stuff uh ret's been sneaking behind her back buying land becoming a farmer getting back to his roots
mm-hmm no way southwest of the city somewhere yak farm it's got some cattle what's this daisy what's
What's her name in the purple there?
Is that Lily?
She wants no piece of Ricardo.
He's trying.
He just won't quit, but she don't care.
Pepe Lepeot.
He's not giving up.
Kidder strutting.
The cow's like, go ahead.
Take your pictures.
Take your video.
Are we done here?
Because as soon as this guy is, look at the wrong way,
he's getting a good cow kick right in the ribs.
We had Ozzy Brad on her.
earlier. He was all amped up about the big game.
Yeah. Love him. I just wish somehow, some way we could have watched him because I think
it would have been the afternoon there. So it's Friday here. It was Thursday here last night.
It would have like Friday afternoon. You said he was to, oh, we have video of Ozzie Brad watching
the fuck. Jack, play it. He knows what he wants. I said that to RJ, the story said actually
pretty tame. I said, yeah, he was just aggressively drunk. He really didn't.
didn't go on any way.
The shot in the leg there is a good one.
Well, Charlie, or something?
Charlie, is that Ozzy Brad Jr.?
Is that Bradley?
I wonder if it is.
FFL jersey.
That man was still a fucking maple way.
This guy is a great human.
That was a great Canadian and all is five.
So he's got the wolf for the Calder futures.
If that pulls through, he's
committed to coming to Canada. If he doesn't, we're going to
go fund me. What a legend that guy is. We're flying him out. We'll do an event with
him. Maybe the season opener next year. We'll have a watch party with Ozzy Brad.
I still feel like we should be right there.
Would have been awesome. Yeah, but we showed you all the
setup he's got. You're afraid of everything in Australia.
But if he's around, he's protected. He's going to make sure.
How are you going to do on a 14 and a half hour flight?
I'll need to do the hot dog beer deal.
Can we tranquilize him?
That's your Pinda Report on a beautiful, glorious, better than most Friday, friends.
There you go.
Village Honda, your dealership for life.
Huge selection of used vehicles all makes all models, 90 units on site.
The thing is, they're part of the Wood Automotive Group.
So if you're in there, you're kind of thinking, we're looking for this.
Give him black.
Oh, look over here.
Come on in.
We'll take a look in the old database that we've got here.
We have so many dealerships.
We have so many vehicles.
we're going to find something that works for you.
It's why we are your dealership for life.
Village Honda in the Northwest Automol.
Life.
Good to see, Anthony this week.
You would have been jacked up last night.
Everybody was jacked.
Everyone was jacked.
The numbers are going to be huge.
So 10.1 million was the combined USA Canada total for the Saturday game.
I think there's a lot of room for growth in the U.S.
Because a lot of people were just like, what is it where, what channel?
when do they do this again?
I think it'll be a bigger number in Canada,
maybe close to a Super Bowl, like 7, 8 million.
And then you might see 15, 20 in the States.
And it would have been one of those games where,
okay, you showed up for the fights, maybe.
But because it was such a close game and goes to overtime,
even if you're just kind of, like, we'll watch anything.
If our country is involved and it's in next goal wins territory.
It's in Boston, you have the political stuff.
I can imagine how many Americans are like, okay, who knows how many Americans?
Who knows how it's like?
Somebody's playing, what am I watching?
What is this?
And then, okay, I'm just so in.
When's the next one?
Monday was a meaningless game.
And the Americas would have been absolutely ramped up for last night.
Not so much now, but, you know, the ratings, though, they're worried about the post
game show.
Oh, Gary.
Yeah, all you have to do is starve us for 11 years.
Look how hungry we were for this.
Brilliant.
It was funny.
And I saw Dawn tweeted about it.
They were just dogs on a bone.
I'd rather die than lose.
Yeah.
They win, celebrate.
Here's the cup.
I don't know here.
I don't know what to do.
Do I?
I'll skate with it a bit.
I get.
Where do I put my hands?
It's just that sense of relief that.
Yes.
Either you won or we didn't lose to them.
Thank God.
Yeah.
Now let's just go and.
And they're all like,
I know what I do if this is the cup,
but this is a different trophy that.
It's so awkward.
Even with the cup nowadays,
they do go around,
but there's so many people on the ice.
You look back to the 80s when we're used to watching.
the tour. There was no one out. 20 guys.
Well, a bunch of Lugans that we knew would have been
out of the ice. Sure.
Climb the glass and go.
All your drunk, dumb
Saskatchewan buddies would have been out there.
Big Oiler fans.

For sure.
Yeah, they will know.
March 3rd.
Service.ca.
slash win.
Who win?
So you guys were talking about the bet three, six, five.
It's just a bit quiet today.
Is breast playing?
Breast got smoked seven rip by PSG.
The line did suggest that it was going to be a long shot.
Yeah.
they lost 10-0 on aggregate.
Sevens a lot.
Oh, on aggregate.
Yeah, it was a not enough run.
A very revealing night for breast.
Tough night for breast.
Anyway, Bet365.
We'll get the NHL back tomorrow.
14 games.
Let's go.
World's largest sports betting platform.
Open an account with Bet365.
Get that app.
It's like, I keep talking about this app.
Actually, that app is pretty good.
Use the promo code nation when you sign up.
Whatever at the moment, it's never ordinary.
at bet three, six, five.
Take a look.
Just a reminder here.
We are jumping back into an annual regular season.
On the left, we have the cup odds.
So the Oilers favorite, co-favorts with Carolina,
took a nice jump there after the rant and deal.
Panthers, Cap, Stars, Leif's, Avalanche,
jets, all 12 to 1 are better,
than longer shots, Devils at 14 to 1,
Vegas at 14 to 1,
Lightning and Kings at 18 to 1.
That's on the left side.
On the right side of the ledger, you can bet on whether teams get there and they're out of the playoffs.
Flames are plus 375 to make the playoffs, boys.
Bruins plus 225 to get in.
There's more teams.
I just cropped it for some interesting ones.
Rangers are a polarizing group.
They're out of playing much better since that miserable December that forced all those trades.
Lose Islanders.
So on that.
So highly of.
Yeah.
On that left side for the cup, not necessarily that you think this team is going to win.
value.
But value odds, which Jets at 12, I can't ignore.
Aves at 11.
I think they'll do something.
I kind of like Dallas at plus a thousand.
Yeah, I do too.
Yeah.
Because Jim Neal's going to do something again.
And everyone in the Atlantic's looking at Toronto and Ottawa and Florida,
like Tampa's still got all those guys, right?
Yeah.
You still got all those guys.
It's Vegas good.
Vegas is good.
You can make a compelling case for everyone but the Kings in my mind on that list.
that's what makes it so great.
That's what makes this tournament.
It's why we tell you about bet three, six, five.
Get the app.
Get the app.
It's 11 teams out of the 12 listed that I'm like,
yep, they could win the cup.
Yep.
What's six is Colorado?
What are those odds going to go to?
Oh, baby.
Jack, can you get Sid to Colorado, please?
Can we get McKinnon to Pittsburgh?
That's not the deal.
Okay.
Doesn't feel like that's how that's going to go.
Probably get a middle stat and some first rounders.
Yeah.
Oh, hey, look at this. Super chat. We have done some business on the super chat today.
If you're in the YouTube chat, a little donation of funds, we'll go directly to the youth centers of Calgary.
And then we'll take the message that you sent in alongside that donation.
And we'll show it on the show. We've got a few going today.
We made a little bit of money for the kids.
I'm very happy for the kids today. The K-Man came in with $6.99.
Thanks, K-man.
And realized, oh, I was supposed to put the comment in there.
Then doubled back with a little 279.
what was Matthews doing on the McDavid goal?
Yeah, I think he means Austin because Matthew Kachuk was not playing at this point.
Well, we kicked it around.
Float to the corner to follow Martin.
He's just kind of watching the game like us.
He's got his man.
There's the pressure here.
Oh, the Dman's got that.
Oh, boy.
Shoot.
Who's that Dman?
Brinsky goes behind on that kind of.
Number eight.
Oh, that's Fox 23.
He was a hate to see it.
That's a shame, eh?
Yeah.
Zing.
Fox was horrible that whole tournament.
I was stunned to see him on the third pair.
I mean, they're obviously a great blue line, but,
uh, yeah, you just hate to see, uh, bad things happen to good people.
There's Mace two bucks.
Rett.
How can USA D-Men leave McDavid so open?
That's not the D-Men's guy.
That's Matthew's guy in front of the Matt.
Nonetheless, there's poor de-coverage.
You don't like the pursuit by Fox there or what do you?
They have to recognize Fox and Matt.
Matthews, one of them I must recognize I can't go.
And probably because Matthews, if you leave that, if you leave, I'm tired to tell kids this.
If you leave Marner in the corner, what's he going to do?
You can't score from there.
Yeah, the guy you can't leave opens in the slot.
So the sprint at a guy in the corner when you've got guys in the slot is never a wise decision.
That was the Sedeen effect for you, right?
Oh, yeah.
I'm not chasing you, washing machine.
I'm not going to catch you.
How does that work for you?
Usually pretty good.
And you know what?
If I do go over there, you're just going to pass it.
I'm not going to be the monkey in the middle here
for your little game. I was. I'm not getting
a hoodwint by you guys again. Are you going to hang on to it?
Stand there in the corner. I'll come after you.
Are you Danny or Hank? I don't even know. I don't care. I'm not coming over there.
Whatever one you are. Stay there.
So you're like, all right, you're hanging on to it.
All right. Well, here I come.
And then he passed. You got me again.
Scores.
Turn it over.
Oh, wow. Look at this.
Damn.
$10 aren't a boy name.
just a big thanks again to the group of you.
If you have one target at the deadline, who or what is it?
Question mark.
Or do we stand still and play it out?
Before you get to your answers,
I just want to remind everyone that you're adding a Kevin Ball
and a Connor Zeri to this group.
And I think you'll see where the holes are.
They haven't built this lineup with all these guys yet.
So where are the needs?
I would suggest a left shot defenseman to play with Weigert v.
But I think they want to give Solovia.
I'll be a kick at that.
I'm going to be a boring Boris.
That's what I'm going to be.
Boring Boris.
Not Nancy Andy?
If I get a phone call for Rasmus Anderson,
better be listening.
I'm listening.
Thank you.
But I have,
like you say,
I'm getting ball back.
I'm getting Zeri.
I already made a deal that brought into center,
but I,
two top nine forwards.
That is a big deal.
Yeah.
And Slova,
I'm,
and I don't think you're trading Flaar.
I just don't know.
Yeah,
what?
You can get a late pick,
who cares,
just to screw up your HL team
that's poised to go on a big run.
I'm giving one of these.
Pause right there.
So many hands, put your hands on.
I'm waiting till the huska gaunt.
Really?
Right till the very end?
Well,
to be fair, that's when most of the business does get done.
Is that last 24 to 48 hours?
I don't think that's as crazy as it sounds.
That's very rational.
I think Conroy will be looking at things.
I don't know if he's got the bullets to or want to make a bunch of deals.
Yeah, and the cousin's thing,
the director said is interesting because
a very good young player don't think
the Sabres would want to part with and so
B you're going to have to give up a lot
to get them to get rid of said young
player with tons of team control left
and what do they want? And that's the thing
it's like do they really want more firsts and prospects?
They're swimming in those.
They probably
we like that Zeri guy you've got
well no we don't really know that's not something
Connie's going to really want to so I
I struggle to find the fit
with Buffalo but I also don't really
know why Buffalo would want to move Dylan
Cousins like Alex Tuck, that makes sense.
He's got what a year left? He's older guy. Yeah,
move other pieces that they could get out of there
that make more sense than giving up
a big centerman that. Yeah.
Yeah. Actually, he's not
putting up his bigger points, but has the potential
put up points that are worth
the $7 million that he's getting paid.
Sure. Yeah.
Do we have more super chance? I hope that are for name.
Look at this one. Hunt a box. Hats of Dan
back in. It's not a
wolf shutout, but it is
a big win for his country.
Keep your grubby mitts off my country, Jack.
Canada wins.
Woo.
Who?
Is it who or woo?
Woo.
That is all caps.
I do think you have to yell at Jack.
Woo.
No, because he's like,
Keep your grubby mitts off my country, Jack.
Or maybe his caps was stuck.
Yeah, maybe.
I could either not send it at all or it's going to have to go in all caps.
I got a hundie on this.
Caps locks loaded.
I don't know what to do.
Hot a box, nice.
Danny boy.
And he loves Wolf.
That's why he's doing them.
Yeah, appreciate that.
So there you go.
During the course of the show, we can do a super chat.
Money goes to the U.S.
centers of Calgary and you get your, uh,
your things.
It's brilliant.
Yeah.
All your thoughts.
Uh, tomorrow we think, Jack.
Tomorrow on our, uh, on our YouTube channel,
we will have an interview that I, uh,
I sat down and had a conversation with WWE superstar.
Sammy Zane.
Canadian?
Who will be part of the big...
It's the elimination chamber coming up next Saturday in Toronto
at Rogers Center against his best friend.
Grew up.
They've been doing this for 20 years,
but his friend turned on him, Kevin Owens.
Yeah, how could you?
Kevin!
Big one coming.
You set it on Raw.
You and Kevin, you've had your differences,
but this time was different.
The package pile driver.
I felt things in my spine that I'd never felt taking that move.
There's something with Kevin Owens right now,
and he is a guy.
He's always on the edge with his,
temper and all of that. But to look to end your career that way, as a friend, what do you think
has gotten into Kevin Owens? On TV, it's been like a thing for my character over the last few months,
starting with the Bloodline Reunion. And there was this whole thing about me being like forgiving
or I can't believe you would, you know, it's like a naivete almost. People question. I don't know,
it kind of ties into all that in a way where I think it's just like, you know, I can't believe you
would do this for these people, but you wouldn't do this for me.
And you said it at the end of the match against Cody Rhodes.
I mean, you were there in defense of your friend.
Not that it matters now because what's done has been done, but it's too bad he couldn't
have seen things differently.
Well, I mean, now it's just it's time for the fight, you know what I mean?
I think the table's set.
Now it's just time to, uh, you know, no better place, no better time.
There you go.
You hate to see good friendships torn apart like that.
But, uh, yeah, for Kevin Owens.
And they've, they've been doing it a long time.
They've had some battles.
Could you.
This is going to be the biggest one ever.
They may never be the same again after this match.
Jeez.
Yeah.
Dramatic.
You can get it.
It's going to be,
of course,
everything,
WWB is on Netflix and you can get tickets at ticketmaster.
com.
If you're in the...
How is the transition been to Netflix?
I know when they usually kick those things out with the big bang in terms of shows and
everything.
You know,
it's weird.
I don't think they,
they're not hungry to necessarily share numbers.
Right.
But I think it's been fine.
But the show's been good.
Yeah.
I usually have great storylines around those sort of things.
I think that there's the anticipation that,
oh, it's going to be sweared and blood and all that.
I don't think that's necessarily been the case.
Okay.
Yeah, this is going to be a big one.
You ever been given a package pile drive?
No, God.
You don't want it.
Piled drive, but not package.
Yeah, you don't want that.
You don't want that.
Then, of course, it's the road to WrestleMania, which is coming up.
Are you going again?
Not as of yet.
Where is it this year?
It is in Las Vegas.
Oh, which you love Vegas.
I do.
Yeah, you do like Vegas.
Yeah, yeah.
I double back with the WWE communications, see it, you know.
Did you be help covering this?
For the Nation Network, would be all right.
My kid would be some sour.
Dad's going to WrestleMania.
When do we leave?
Sorry, son.
So, yeah, the conversation in its entirety with Sammy Zane on our YouTube tomorrow.
Cool.
I guess that's it, eh?
That's it.
Big plans for the weekend?
Uh, traveling south, Dean.
Me too.
Yeah, it's going to be wicked.
Windy.
It is windy down there, the Wendy City.
It's going to be windy down there.
Yeah.
What do you?
A lot of kid hockey.
You got a little baseball prep.
They get e-vails Tuesday.
Oh.
And, uh, yeah.
They ready?
Just kids, man.
I'm dialed up.
Well, that's where we're going today.
They got to get dialed in.
It's not exactly been going to go to the backyard and throw the ball around weather.
I don't if you noticed.
What about you, Jack?
Oh, he's just going to get done.
Yeah, I got a buddy's birthday tomorrow.
I think we're just going to cook up some meat.
No, we're staying in.
We're going to barbecue.
I'm going to bring over that bottle of whiskey.
Whiskey.
Takes money to buy a whiskey.
And we'll have some drinks.
It's warmed up, but it is still a brown liquor season.
Yeah, it'll be fine.
He'll be sick all next week.
Oh, yeah.
He's going to one of those seven-day hangovers.
So soft.
It's classic American.
Hey, appreciate you.
Have a weekend, everybody.
Yeah, buddy.
