And we're into it here on Wednesday.
Tuesday.
Today.
Day two of the work week.
November 13th, whatever day decides to be.
Lucky number 13th.
Lucky number 13.
Welcome back.
Everyone, how are we all doing?
Great start, guys.
I'm great.
This guy over here seems to be continuing to have.
I'm good.
There is a half-used lozange sitting on your notepad.
Yeah, I do like a good lozange these days.
It's a little scratchy.
Little, let's do an after Burner last.
Yeah.
Well, it's good that you're just starting and you're here to give it to the rest of us.
Like Jack, at least, yes, last week was like, hey, fellows.
Jack was patient zero at the trough and then gave it to the rest of us throughout the week, yes.
But you've been kind of, there's been something.
Because if you go back as on my life this week, I had early morning kid hockey.
And then it was that was following.
that was following the Jack Patient Zero.
Jack Patient Zero was Friday.
Saturday was a concert.
Sunday was an oilist game.
Monday was something.
Tuesday morning was Kid hockey.
I see.
That was the five-day bender.
Apparently.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I was kind of worried about you.
Are you?
Are you?
It's kind of hanging around.
That was good.
We had a great weekend.
Did things.
It was not held back at all.
He was sick last week.
Yeah.
And then cooked the goose.
Did not cook the goose.
no goose cooking for weeks.
What did you hear?
What did you hear?
You had a soccer game?
No, I was in a soccer game.
I had two beers and three hours of a soccer game.
So if that's cooking the goose,
that's as much as I've done since last weekend.
There was a story relayed to us yesterday.
Yep, please tell us.
Not so much about goose cooking, but treatment.
Just about, you know, being a self-care.
A wingman.
Yep.
Taking care of those around you.
Always do.
caring is sharing
well tell us tell us because again
I know it was again congratulations to Tommy
oh what a guy
six years six years I got one boys
they got one huge win yeah um
and you went to the game I was there
I took producer Jack
Jack in his inebriated birthday state
at about half past midnight
I said Jack if you would like to go
I will take you to the CPL finals
featuring cavalry and forge
if you are up to it I will take
you. He said yes. He forgot. He said yes. We talked about it days later. He said yes again.
This beautiful thing. I was right before he got kicked out of the facility of the drop.
No, yeah, yeah. Okay. Well, he's wobbly, right? Right. You were told to go home.
Okay. So then you were asked to leave a place. Yeah. We don't need that. It was a while ago.
That was 10 days ago, guys. What are we doing here? You had what's next? We got to audit the Great Wall of China.
Like, that's 10 days ago. That's efficient amounts of fun.
Correct.
I had too much fun and I was totally awful.
You had plenty of fun.
That was enough.
So fast forward to what Saturday.
Saturday.
1 p.m.
Atco Fields.
So.
This guy woke up at about 11.
How do I get there?
Gets there five minutes before kickoff.
Okay.
So you met him to let him.
Did he have a ticket?
I texted him the ticket.
Gotcha.
And he gets just in time for,
I put a drink in his hand to help him use his hangover.
Nice.
And then we're off to the race.
It's an incredible first half.
from the calves.
2-0 at the half.
Yeah.
Sensational start.
He's got the video of Tobias Roshavsky
with the penalty kick to put him up 1-0.
Place is jumping.
Second half, though, they were trying to fix the game a little.
Yeah, Jack was saying, who's the commissioner?
What's his name?
I'm like, Mark No, Noonan called it in.
This ain't over yet.
No calls.
Just like Goodell with Mahomes.
He's like, oh, Noonan.
It's freaking Noonan again.
Can't trust that friggin' noon.
Ford scores like the 54th minute.
Like it's too soon for this.
We can't be sweating for 45 minutes, fellas.
Come on.
But they hang on.
They did hang on.
It was great.
They were chanting,
Ola,
Ola, Ola, because the stoppage time was winding down.
Nice.
Maybe presumptuous, though, in a one goal game.
Did they do the wave?
Is a wave okay?
Did they do it?
No wave?
Premature celebration.
Well, the thing was that the possession was all in Forge's end.
They could not really even muster an attempt.
Unlike the Flames game.
game where fans were doing the wave moments before Dustin Wolf shutout was ended with three
minutes left. Hope they had fun that night.
Anyway, then what happened after?
So then the game is over.
Yeah, celebrate.
And then what did you guys do?
Celebrate good time.
Jack went home. I got down onto the field, gave hugs to some people that I care about and
went home.
Great.
I'm tight.
What?
It's emotional time.
So you're sick and you're out on the field hugging people that.
don't really care if you're there.
That would be a very mean thing to say, right?
Jack, do you want to rehash the?
Yeah, this is kind of how it went down.
The game ended.
Ryan said, I got to get on the field.
And he was gone.
And see you later.
See you later.
Yeah.
It's obvious.
He doesn't even think it's not registering at all.
So you ditched.
I couldn't get both of us on the field.
Clearly greased my way in on my own.
Okay.
Two things.
Jack probably didn't have much of an appetite to be on the field.
He had seen the victory.
He was ready to go home and wallow in his own filth.
Ryan was able to decipher this for Jack.
Yeah.
You probably don't want to come on the field.
And I probably won't be able to get you on the field.
So see you later.
Hey, bud.
Thanks for coming.
Had a great time.
Thanks for taking care of me.
And see ya.
You have mattered until now, except as of now, you do not matter.
You're not part of this.
I tried to get some other people on the field.
Didn't work.
You didn't only have a certain number of wristbands.
Got to be.
Why did you have a wristband?
What was your?
Oh, come on, please.
You don't think I know one or two people around there to grease one wristband?
That's not the point.
Like, I'm sure there's people.
The flames win the cup.
Are you going in the room?
No, but you should.
Connie's your boy.
Going in the room?
I didn't earn it.
Not the room, but on the ice or something.
Sure.
Yes.
That was posing in photos.
I was there with friends and family.
I consider myself friend.
100% posed in a photo.
Where was the,
photo. We saw the photo. Yeah, I didn't pose. I gave Tommy a hug and a photo was taken.
Weird. So apologies. Sorry if that upset some people. It's guys been working for a decade towards this.
I remember. I could understand why he's saying your hug. All I said to him is I said, I'm so proud of you.
Oh. That's all I said. Hug. I've got to get down there. I got to congratulate Tommy and Mason and
Marco, friend of the show and, you know, Sergio Camargo we had on this year.
It's not true.
I mean, there's no question.
Good people.
No question.
And they're.
Nick Ledgerwood.
Their day would not have been fulfilled had you not gone down there.
There was lots of people giving them hugs, but it was a place I wanted to be.
Like wives and girlfriends.
A lot of those.
Seemates.
Ants, uncles, parents.
Former players.
Brian.
Don Klomp's Dutch parents were there.
You were clogs.
Yeah.
No, I, Andrew, I hear.
Should be there.
Yeah.
Congratulations, Tommy.
Big win.
Very happy.
you championship it was kind of i mean you think about this they are they really they're the model
of what uh you would want this league to be they came in great stadium great crowds
lots of winning 7000 plus biggest crowd ever it's they were sold out standing room they added
some extra seats behind the commissioner yep they'll add another set of bleachers at some point you
just want to do it when demand calls for it you don't want just an empty bleacher all next year so
I think they'd love to add another
2,000 seats on the one side
of the pitch that doesn't really have any. They've got the
officers club, but there's room around there for bleachers.
They put in some temporary stuff.
Commissioner had a 90-person smooth fest behind him
behind the Forge bench.
Those are all theoretically
clients and potential owners.
They want to expand two more teams next two years.
Polona potentially.
Mississauga.
Back.
Saskatoon.
Saskatoon.
Got to get a facility built.
It's the hardest thing in the sleek facility.
Is it?
Play at the U of S.
How many seats?
I haven't a clue.
Probably need to know that.
Too many or not enough?
Too many.
I'm not.
You want that five to 10,000 cozy.
He's beating me up about the fact that I would like my.
I'm supposed to have the town that you grew up in.
How don't you know how many seats?
I'm curious.
I could just put their name out there and not have the details on where they would play.
They had a land thing that they were going to,
it was going to be, I think by the horse racing place.
they were going to build a stadium, but it was contingent on funding that I think COVID ate.
Not unlike the CFL Halifax thing.
They had it done and then COVID ate it.
I only said it because I'm from Saskatoon.
I'd like to see them there.
I think it'd be great.
So just to kind of bring it around.
There was just some thought that maybe you kind of just hung your buddy out to dry.
That's for Jack to interpret, not anyone else.
Well, he is.
Okay.
And Jack, did I hang you out to dry?
Yes or no?
By definition, yes.
Did I give a fuck?
No.
Yeah.
He needed to go lie on a couch.
He says, I've got a very Ryan, there's a very Ryan story involved with the game.
So we've naturally, we perked up.
We were very excited here.
Very excited.
Let's get into it.
Yesterday was a Flames game day.
We'll get into, hey, let's take a look.
Our opening statements for McLeod Law.
Shane King, buddy.
Yes.
Partner in the litigation and dispute resolution group.
Employee rights, we've all got them being laid off,
for terminated can be hard. Shane can review your situation. Make sure that you've been treated
fairly. As the law requires, we're all, hey, we're all straight up. But sometimes like, I just
I just signed that $75 million football head coaching deal. I want to make sure I get that money.
I feel like, I'm fine if I don't want to be someplace where I'm not wanted. But at the same time,
let's be fair.
You're a deal. So Shane, I sent this email about cheerleaders to the commissioner. Now I get fired.
What are my rights?
Woo!
A practical approach.
And plain language.
I'm feeling very nicey.
McLeod-dashlot.com.
Calgary Flames.
Go into Vancouver.
So tired.
Dominate the first.
Score a big goal.
The control of the play.
Oh, yeah.
We played a lot of hockey.
That is, guys.
You don't want to build in the excuses, fellas.
Is that too much too soon, guys, you think?
man.
Let's give you water.
Deep boat.
Some water.
Who, man.
My legs are tired.
Jeez.
Three periods this one?
Really, eh?
I'm not sure how much I'm going to have left here, guys.
I maybe went a little too hard there.
Husk.
One, two, two, zero, zero five.
We'll just clog their own zone.
Yeah.
They tried to sit on that one nothing lead.
it didn't work great.
Elias Pedersen, who we...
I did love that part again.
Did you curse him?
Yeah.
Oh, for sure.
Barmerter blessing.
Shit.
Yeah.
J.T. Miller,
we talked about how terrible he was,
a pair of assists.
And then Bransstrom,
who we have talked about on this show is,
I mean, what is he?
Against the insurance goal.
And I'll plus an assist.
Yeah.
3-1.
He conducts win it.
Patterson, five points his last four games.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Red hot.
Red hot.
Red hot.
Red hot.
Red hot.
Yeah, like you guys noted it.
White Hart? We do that all the time.
White Hart?
It's incredibly busy.
Three games and three cities and four days and three different time zones.
This was one that the second half of a back-to-back that you would call a scheduled loss.
Every team has like maybe two or three of these a year where it's like good luck winning.
Vancouver's been at home since probably 2 a.m. Thursday.
You are playing your third game since that time.
In fact, probably your fourth.
Thursday, Boston, Saturday, Buffalo, Monday, Calgary, Vancouver.
Yeah, not ideal.
They had three guys that were fresh and hadn't played.
They looked good, but they stuck with the winning lineup.
And I don't think, I'm not criticizing Huska.
There's different ways to skin it.
You play maybe your best game of the year against L.A.
Do you want to stick with that group that played that well?
Or are you saying we're heading into our most tired game of the season?
This will be our most fatigued game.
We need fresh legs.
Who are you taking out?
Who are you putting it?
I would take out Miramano and Barry and put in Pahal and him.
TB8 had a tough go.
TB8 had a tough go.
Not known for defending.
Never has been.
You like it.
I do.
TBAs,
he's very,
he's very happy with TBA8 for sure.
Yeah.
And then like,
Klapka could come in for someone,
but the fourth line was actually great.
It was your best line.
So that probably would have done.
I mean,
I don't think it turns you to win.
I don't disagree with you,
but I don't think it's the reason for the winner of the loss.
No,
I think you're losing this nine times out of 10.
It doesn't matter how hard you work.
You're gassed.
Your opponents.
Too much.
Got you on team.
It would have been better off soon.
Just like that COVID game.
When they were out of the playoffs.
Yeah.
Let's just not.
Please, can we just not?
Tonight, game three in the Pacific final and also Calgary, Vancouver, game 64 makeup.
Yeah, the playoff teams are already playing playoff games.
And Vancouver and Calgary have to play another game.
Who, disaster.
This is weird.
And it went exactly how we thought it was going to.
Yeah, I mean, Pedersen scores a nice goal in the power play.
a bit of a breakdown in their own zone.
Pia so whatever.
So to your point, I think you could put different bodies in.
I don't think it changes the outcome.
No, but it was a great, it would have been an opportunity to get guys in.
But yeah, they also came off their best game.
I get it.
Dan Vladar, 29 saves.
Goaltins has been really good boys.
Made some big stops.
Two games this year they've had shitty goaltending.
Back to back, Vegas, Utah.
And they also didn't play well.
No, they're junk in front of them.
But they've been, they've had other games.
Yeah, they're two worst efforts.
Goaltending included.
Outside of that, I believe top team in the NHL 5 and 5% percentage.
That is wild.
Wolf looks confident, Ryan, we were saying.
Sure does.
Very confident.
How many goals are you like, ah, if he's bigger, he stops.
How many of those he let in this year?
Zero?
Why?
Like, the conversation's dead.
Until it happens again.
But it's just a good point that anytime someone goes in, people are looking for that.
Your best point is the fact when you always say he's done it.
Every level.
Every stage of his career.
He's been not, he's not done just enough to overcome the size, whatever, controversy.
He's excelled and being the best.
People are shocked to see this working and you're like, have you not seen any of his career?
Like, just the accolades alone.
Yeah.
And if not shocked, you're waiting for the shoe to draw.
Yes.
Good so far.
All right, he's been good at this level and good at this level.
And so far he's played eight games, 10 game, whatever it is.
But when's it going to?
Yeah.
Okay.
So he keeps rolling.
Maybe there's, there are going to be some goals where, yes, a bigger goalie probably
makes a save.
But he's making saves that other goalies are not making, regardless of their size right now.
Danville are six, seven.
He's making saves Danvlar's not making.
It's not feeling like the opposite.
And Dan's having a great season.
Dan's having a great year.
Disco Dan.
Just go.
Just go.
Just go.
Trade him.
Call up cool.
Let's go.
Disco, Dan.
Did I read on the, we're seeing.
You can read.
Your eyes.
They don't.
No, it's not great.
Braille?
Cooley.
He's doing almost unprecedented things.
Yeah, he's hanging around 960.
What are we talking about here?
Amazing.
Yes.
Work so far for him with the Wranglers.
You really need Colorado to have some sort of injury loophole so they can go trade for
Danville that already called Cooley.
They loved him.
They thought they had a nice little sneak signing.
And the result.
have been phenomenal.
Like, awesome.
I'll pull it up for you because
us saying he's great is different
than actually hearing the...
I didn't give you the heads out.
No, no, that's fine.
And I don't have...
So they went from
they don't have good goalies.
Goaltending is going to be an issue to
they got too many good goals.
To be fair, it was like, they're just great unknowns, right?
All these guys, these guys are too good
to not be number ones across the league.
And look, Devin Kooley might be.
a man, HL guy, but for what we've seen, a 1.46, a 954.
I'll tell you what.
With three shutouts.
Holy, like, holy graze.
Part of goaltending is confidence.
Yeah.
You're telling me that I realize NHL shooters are better than HL shooters.
There's a reason they're in the NHL.
Yeah.
But you bring up a goalie with that kind of numbers.
So what if it's a 2.46?
Amazing.
Oh, no.
Okay.
He started,
he's played 11 games.
He has three shutouts.
He's allowed 15 goals and 11 games.
Pick him up.
Pick him up.
You can't pull this guy up because he won't get through it.
Can you imagine?
You pull him up to keep.
I'm playing the fun ZG.
All right.
Conroy and I got these goalies.
And they're like they literally are all having great years.
And they continue.
And it's March now and you're going,
I am going to home run a few of these gold.
enders and turn them into because you don't need two number ones and it won't happen that quickly.
But I'm just saying, imagine if Vladar continues to play this way.
Second rounder.
Okay, you're gone.
You'd move for a second at the deadline, wouldn't you?
Yeah, maybe more if he keeps playing well, right?
Like, if he's got good numbers, it's happened before.
Remember the Rangers?
Mike Richter, John Van Biesbrook.
Wow.
And you guys turn into number ones.
Yes.
And I'm just, and I'm just.
spoilers, Grant Fierre, Andy Moog.
I'm sure that's what we're seeing here.
That's that tongue and cheap.
I'm sure you're going to bring up Cooley next year.
No, another number one. That's right.
They might be three at H.L goalies, not three number ones, but you've got three guys playing well.
Ryan, come on.
Can you have some fun?
Besides from at the Cav game.
Three Hall of Fame goal team.
Yes.
I can't believe.
On the rass.
The facts that Cooley is having to bite his time is atrocious.
Nowhere.
Isn't it just like the Rangers or they go?
They went, uh, Richter.
to Lundquist,
Lundquist,
to Chester.
I mean,
same thing here.
Yeah.
You go wolf.
Cooley and Flinty.
Except you got them all at the same time.
Oh, no.
Didn't spread them out.
And there was that.
Gosh.
Kiprasoff to
Elliot to.
Hiller,
Rickler,
Rammell.
Doey.
Ramon.
Maybe that doesn't,
maybe that's where it falls apart.
But good,
whoever is in charge of sussing out
goaltending talent for this.
Sigeluton.
La Barber.
Look at that.
The thumbs up.
The goalie crew.
I'll give you one of those right there.
And if you're just listening, it's all yours.
I'm giving a thumbs up.
Boomer approved goaltending.
Well, what was that quote you had?
Back in the day when there was a goaltender here, if they play Carrey Ramo.
Yeah, I was going to pack my ass.
If they start Carrey Ram on Saturday, I'm packing my ass.
I'm leaving town.
It's just we've seen all we need to see of this goaltender.
He is.
what he is. Yeah. He is what he's not
what he should be all of it. He made me laugh
because it was like he would have some good
save. He's like, wow, but you'd see his name bar
five times a night on TV. I've never seen
Dustin Wilson's name bar on television. Is he
looking for people in the crowd? Is your name
bar pointed at center ice? You know where the
puck's come from. You know the area you're protecting.
I should never see your name bar
while the play is on. Like you may
as well put out like lay out a sweater and collect
tunis and breakdance on cardboard. Where we're just
flying around?
He's going home with it.
You know what?
It was one of those things.
I just kind of threw it out there.
But if I was pressed upon it,
I'd then have to come up with a plan, I guess.
But I hadn't really got that far.
I was just, I couldn't, I couldn't handle it at that point.
And luckily,
Would your family gone with you?
Were you on your own, if that?
I'm not sure they wanted to leave.
Doesn't matter.
You're the man of the house.
You needed to cool off, yeah.
It would be just a hiatus.
Ramo left.
So that was good.
Even better.
So a lot of guys leave don't play again.
So that was good.
Kirkland,
Scraps.
Costco.
Scores.
Don't put him in the shootout again.
That was a one off thing.
Oh, come on. He's 50%.
No, it was a one time thing.
It was special. We don't need to throw him back in there.
It's one of the greats in the history of the NHL, 50% on the shootout.
But happy for him.
Yeah, fourth line was really the only line that was consistently good last night.
Yeah.
Just so tired.
Those guys are.
I don't want any of your damn excuses.
It's part of the schedule.
Win the game.
trying to make the playoffs here says first game back radiation can't poop constipation
guy it wasn't first game back first game out so on the road first game out that's right
excited to get back on the road even more travel even worse I remember walking through the
schedule I was like oh roll they go right back out of the road after that yeah that's gonna be a
tough one in ban so here we are in the now basically middle of november we're almost
at the american Thanksgiving I mean there's 17 games in yeah this is not where we thought
would be, man. So it's not almost American Thanksgiving?
Two weeks?
Yeah. Yeah. Because I think usually it's like, it feels like a third week.
It moves around. It's weird.
It's the last Thursday.
Got to line up with gourds when the gourds are ripe or whatever.
Yeah, that's right. Trump will fix it.
Maybe. Change it.
They'll get it figured out. Um, not this year.
But they're not, you know what? And I'll, do you want to tell Ryan about your defense take from yesterday?
I saw some clips circulating on social.
Def defense?
Just kind of a, that may be, perhaps.
They're not as shitty as we thought they were going to be.
The dog shirt isn't piled as high.
That's right.
Yeah.
There's not a Norris guy in there.
God, no.
But they are holding things together far better than we thought they would.
You might have two Four Nations defensemen.
I don't care.
I don't bring up four nations.
I don't care. I don't really know what that even means.
Weeger is a very good defenseman.
Anderson's a very good defenseman.
Yes.
Those are legit top.
pair guys in the NHL. Ball struggled yesterday, but he's been awesome.
And then the rest is kind of like just sticking. I don't know. It's,
it's not pretty, but it's working. Like, I don't think Miramano is very good, but I don't know
how many guys can play top four minutes. You don't notice him. Your mom is kind of been that.
I don't. We say it all the time. Part of it is don't let me see you.
They don't want to notice. Yeah. Or just for, for that, three, four, five, six, a lot of
times, it's great if you're a star, but if you're not, just don't let me see you.
Let me see in the highlight packs getting fucking burnt, getting your doors blown off.
Well, it's the door off.
We talked about it yesterday.
You had a number three and then you had a number eight all in the same period.
Same guy out of the same guy.
Unbelievable.
Look at the open ice body check here.
Wow.
One time shot.
And then here gets turnstiled for a short head for a short hand to go.
What the hell?
There's a toe pick and break away other team.
Yeah.
So just these guys are just doing.
They're playing their game.
They've been put into position by the coach to succeed.
They, when you look at it, work hard, good structure.
Like I think the coaching staff deserves a lot of credit.
Slotting?
Not necessarily slotting.
All right.
Structure and work ethic.
How many times they've been outwork this year?
I can think of two.
Utah, Vegas.
I'll make it four, but just because.
Sure.
And maybe there's a few that you could push either way.
But generally speaking, there's not been a work ethic issue.
No, they've not.
And they don't they're not leaky.
Remember last year
The first frigging Jacob Marchsham
had to make five breakaway saves
in the first half of a game against Chicago.
Like that is in this team this year.
And a lot of times didn't make that first save.
It was one nothing in the first minute.
Last year that was always the first shot.
The year before was really bad.
A rather year for Marchstrom, apparently.
How long's our guests been sitting in the green room there?
Oh, no.
Jack.
Even I guess.
I was so into my, our hot takes.
It's, uh, it's been a couple minutes.
Oh, jeez, damn.
Jack.
Guy was working last night.
I'm guessing he was in Toronto.
He's got a radio show.
He's doing all this is making him way.

oh no I don't know but it was very good
oh it was your banter yelling and screaming about do
We have two four nations defensemen on the team, and Rets like, I don't care about that tournament.
And then, you know, I mean, listen, I, I enjoy being a fan of the show.
I can sit here and watch all day.
I don't have to talk.
It's good.
I mean, you guys know, I love you.
It's all good.
Thanks, James.
Appreciate it.
What's up?
Well, we're just, oddly, we're here after a flames.
I mean, they were handily beaten last night.
Three to one in Vancouver.
If anything, the score may be a little flattering.
They were out of gas.
They played in Buffalo, came home, played L.A.
Fly to Vancouver, play the Canucks.
They're out of gas.
But we're not overly critical.
This was, as we said, this is kind of one of those games.
You look ahead in the schedule, that's going to be a rough one.
Yeah, and it kind of was.
I don't even remember.
There's always bad points in the schedule.
I think that's about as bad as you've got to see.
That one stuck out to you right on.
Third and four, second half of a back-to-back, three different cities, three different time zones.
And five and eight.
Like it's nuts.
That is somebody from the schedule maker should be fired.
Wait, noodles.
They play once in the next seven days.
I know, but so what?
Like you're, hey, we're in Buffalo.
Hey, we're in Boston and Buffalo.
And then we're in Vancouver.
And good luck with your body clock.
And we'll play a home game against L.A. in between those.
So we're a home game in there.
Like, it's just, I'm sorry.
I understand there's, you know, the schedule.
maker has lots to do. There's building availability, all of that. You've got to make it all fit.
But at some point, when you take a look at the schedule, every team gets a peek at the schedule,
you got to circle that and go, what the hell are you guys doing here? Like, that's really what it is.
Yeah, I think, you know, the verbiage we always use sometimes is like you can expect the scheduled
loss. I would have guessed that was going to be a scheduled loss last night, just based on the schedule
the back-to-back situation.
You know, I thought Vladar was good.
Like, there was some, to me,
there were a couple bright spots where you're like,
okay, you know, it could have been,
the doors could have got blown off.
It didn't.
You know, I don't know about Vancouver.
They're a team that, they're an enigma for me.
I think they look like world beaters one night
and then they look pedestrian on other nights.
But I thought when you're talking about defensemen
and guys that maybe could fade in,
into the background.
You know, I think ball is serviceable.
I look at that.
Pronouns, give me it, Miramanov.
Yeah, yeah, Miramanov.
I agree with you guys.
I think if you don't notice him, that's a good thing.
Number 44 there, when I noticed, you know,
when I noticed him some nights,
it may not have been the best thing.
You know, you're like, geez, that's not a good play.
I saw you on sports desk last night.
Yeah, exactly.
Like, I'm the same way.
I walked into my kids hockey.
the other night and Mike Camillery goes,
hey, my son was watching YouTube videos of Pavel Bure
and you're the number one on the list of him.
I'm like, yes, that's a bad poke track by Jamie.
But, you know, like stuff like that.
When you're on the highlights for a negative reason,
that's when you get noticed.
Like, I'll call a game.
And if I don't say a guy's name,
if you're an offensive guy, that's that you're having a quiet night.
But if you're a stay-at-home defenseman and you don't,
you don't hear that guy's name, sometimes less is more.
So I think Miramanoff is a guy that can fall into that,
like give you good minutes.
And if you don't notice him getting rinsed,
that's a good thing.
It's the one thing that we kind of just assessing this team coming in.
We don't think it's going to be a playoff team,
could be a bad team.
There's going to be some offense there.
The forwards are still, they're still okay.
But what about this blue line?
And what about this goaltenders?
The goaltenders are really going to need some help from the D
because they're kind of unproven.
Vladars played more than obviously Wolf has.
But if you're going to go with Wolf here as a young guy,
as a rookie, you're going to need better defensive play in front of them.
This could be a rough situation.
Now, 17 games, it may still turn out to be that.
But the goaltending and the defense have been,
I don't want to overstate it significantly,
marginally, whatever, but it's been better than we thought it was going to be.
Yep. And I would agree, but even if you don't think this is a playoff team,
which I don't think anybody chose the flames to be a playoff team.
I'd never thought they were going to be, you know,
crappy bottom last two in the league,
like scraping up on San Jose or something like that.
Like I always felt with the team they have, and we talked about it,
and I feel like we've over talked about it.
But Hubert, like if Huberto could just go from 45 or whatever,
it was 50 to, if he could have a 70-point season,
those extra points,
translate to goals and him doing something special.
Like I think you look at guys at Connor's area taking another step.
You know, this Coronado, he's a player, but he's a player.
So, you know, is there going to be a little dip on a rookie and a guy who's smaller
or whatever?
But I think he's got some piss and vinegar to him.
He's got a little effieue in his game where it's like everybody's always underestimated me
and I'm just going to go and make some special plays.
So, you know, I look at it.
you know, Bax hasn't taken a step off.
Like he looks solid, scored a couple of big goals.
Like, so if they're not going to be a playoff team,
they might be in that next group, that tweener of pushing for playoff.
You know, that's where I feel like,
and I know I'm looking at the look on your face there.
And you don't think that they're going to be playing meaningful hockey in March?
No, I'm not saying what I think.
I'm just worried.
That's literally a worst case scenario.
Their pick goes to Montreal if it's not top 10 after the lottery.
And so what will you have achieved if you finish 15th in the NHL and then shuttle that first rounder to Montreal and you keep Florida's picking 28?
How does that help you in the long term?
I understand that that would feel good this year, but that literally is the worst case scenario.
You're finishing 11th to 16th because it means you miss the playoffs and you're not keeping your own first rounder,
which would be the highest of the three that they hold right now.
So that's the philosophy, though.
Right.
But that's not what he's saying.
No, no.
He'd be best for the team to do it.
No, he looked at my face and said,
you don't think they're going to do that.
I'm saying, no, I'm worried about that happening.
So I think it is.
You were just clarifying the look on your face.
That's basically what you would do it.
I'm worried what you're saying is true.
Well, I feel it is.
Like, tell me I'm wrong.
Like with what you're seeing and what the capability of some of the players on that roster,
that's not a bottom five team.
You said it yesterday.
Well, what do you need?
Do you need round numbers?
Does it need to be the 20 game mark?
Does it be 22, 25?
what they are they're far higher up the docket than I thought they were going to be yes yeah yeah
the over under was 81 and a half points for this team that looks the over's got a really good head start
i i was going to say and i don't want to like upset you again i don't want to see another look on
your face there pinner but i i feel like it's going to be 85 and north type of thing like you
can get into there if you get wolf that continues to progress
look good the other night.
If, you know, some of these players,
now again, are you going to sell off at the deadline?
That's my question. That's what I was just going to say.
Doesn't that give Conroy another issue
is if they are in it?
Come on, we all believe
that he had the intention of putting this team together,
getting to the trade deadline,
and maybe he wasn't thinking San Jose bad
or the worst team in the league, but he was thinking sell.
Going into the season, he's going,
but I'm selling at the deadline.
I think he still is, even if they're playoff spot.
The real sales pieces are only Kuzmenko and Vlodar.
You already have an elite HL goal you want to look at,
and Kuzmanko's not been central to their success.
I think you're still selling.
I think you're selling.
Marie Lerling.
You might pull a Nashville.
Was it Nashville or what was one of the teams that was selling off and they took off?
Nashville two years ago.
And Winnipeg's Swoon, they almost caught them.
Yeah.
Like that's, you might find yourself.
Now, again, what is the mandate from ownership?
what does Craig Conroy want to do?
Like, I think these are, I know there are problems,
but are there positive problems to have where it's like, hey,
you know, Zari's pushed forward.
Like, we didn't think he was going to be this good that early.
Coronado, we didn't think he was going to, you know,
like these are still decent problems to have.
You just have to adjust how you're going to deal with them.
Now, the first rounder, yeah, you might get jammed up in that.
You just, you might flat out get, unless you find, unless you find a deal,
that brings you something back, you know, that replaces that type of deal involved.
Like, what did you say that first rounder is going to drop to?
Well, if it's a top 10 pick, they keep their own.
Otherwise, it goes to Montreal.
They also have New Jersey's first rounder from the marks from trade and Florida's first
rounder from the Kachuk trade.
So you might have two picks in the high 20s.
Yeah, they're going to be high 20s.
Both of those teams are going to be near the top of the league.
So there's going to be high 20s.
But you might be able to, you know, spin something at the deadline or, you know,
there's going to be some moving pieces where you might be able to get a higher first rounder
or do something there or get a live body.
The other point that I think we have to remember,
they were one point out of a playoff spot in February last year.
They finished ninth from the bottom.
Yeah.
So it's like how does it look?
And if you are keen to look at kids,
understanding it won't be pretty,
you'll see it in the standings.
They're a part of a clump that there's like six,
eight teams that are rammed right together in terms of projected totals now after the start.
Yeah.
six to 14 right now is really jammed from the bottom.
I still think bottom 10's possible, but yeah,
it's a way better start than you have a saw coming.
Well, it could be funny and not funny, but it's like, okay, so they're going to,
this is going to be, they're going to bottom right out, get a top pick,
finished 12th, 13th.
Okay, well, that first rounder's now gone to Montreal.
Well, we're going to trade Manta and get something for him.
Mantha's out for the season.
You're not trading him for anything.
Well, Kuzmanko, you'll get something for him.
Actually, I'm not really sure what, uh, what you're going to get for
This one year of pain and suffering that you're going to endure to get prospects and more picks and all that.
What if it ends up being zero that you end up with those two first rounders and that's...
Okay.
So let me get crazy here then.
Maybe it's Rasmus Anderson that brings you a boatload at the deadline that you, it's an offer that you can't refuse.
And that's the type of deal that I worry about Murray more than selling you a favorite
rentals because he's a guy, Rasmus, who has been very transparent. He never really speaks
cryptically. If the team's competitive, he'll want to stay. And he's probably going to command like
eight times eight as he heads into his 30s on that deal. That could work. But you also have
McKenzie Wiger locked in for another six years. You also have Restevich and Perrick on the right side.
That's four righties. It's an interesting conversation because Rasmus has been great. He's been one of your
best players this year. He should be immensely valuable, but he's also the type of guy that
you could try to replace him for five years of drafting. It might not happen. You're right. It's just,
I think you have to look at the player. I don't know him behind the scenes. I don't know if he's a
fitness freak. I don't know if he's a guy that will age well, you know, based on, you know,
you see it, guy. We see it all the time where there's a guy you go, geez, I love him at 29. What's
going to look like at 33.
Right.
You know, there's, there's a few players I've played with who ate themselves out of the league,
you know, and it just, it, it is what it is.
But my point being is with Rasmus Anderson, I think there's a win, win with him.
If you want to keep him, you'll find a number for him to keep if he wants to stay.
If you want to move him, that's a king's ransom, because there would be a lineup of teams
that would want a right shot defenseman who can run a power play.
And if you want to extend him, you'd find a cap structure for him.
So that's where, you know, we're talking about, hey, we're going to lose a pick to Montreal.
We might get, you might get two picks for Rasmuchman.
You might be able to get two first rounders for him if you've got a desperate, desperate team.
So again, I'm not trading him.
I'm not saying trade him.
I'm just saying that from now game 17 to game, we'll call it 50, 45, whatever that's
going to be. This team might look a lot different if, you know, and your return might look a lot
different if you decide to move away from Anderson and maybe Wiggerson play. I don't know.
It might be something different. I don't know. Yeah. If you think about two playoff runs and his
cap hits 4.55. Like he's seven plus all day on the open market. Never mind where the cap's going
to go over the next decade. It's, if you were to play that chip, it's an immensely valuable one.
Yeah. Kind of like Giordano was when I used to say.
This is one of Rets said this guy.
Backpack items.
Well, it just, I think you're looking at the future of this team and going,
okay, if he's a key piece of it, you figure that out.
But if you feel like, okay, he doesn't want to hang around,
it might be a struggle to get him done because he might have to endure some pain.
And he might not want to do that.
Then maybe it's like, okay, we'll find a landing spot that's amicable for everybody.
but it's a win-win. The new team gets a rock star defenseman and the flames get back at King's Ransom,
maybe a live player and a first rounder and type of thing. You know, it's, and then he might be,
it might be a young Rasmus Anderson, a guy that's up and coming that's in the minors for somebody.
I don't know. It just, I think Connie's got a lot of work ahead of him, but some positive stuff
that could be dragged out of it based on how things unfold here. And again, we don't, I don't know what
Rasmus Anderson and his management and his family feels of what he wants to do long term.
That's another thing that factors in.
Where are you at on Wolf?
Because it was big time humming and hawing about what is he,
what isn't he before the season?
Last week you said he's absolutely an NHL goalie.
Now the question is how high is the ceiling.
There hasn't been a goalie with a Calder Trophy in 15 years.
And I'm not hearing his name.
And I'm hearing a lot about Mishkov and celebrating.
I put it out yesterday.
I'm like, what are we doing here?
This is very rare what we're watching.
Okay, so if he's not one right now, he better be damn.
He better be two.
Like, I know Mischcroft's getting lots of love and he plays out east so people
get to watch him, you know, a lot more than, you know, staying up to watch, you know,
wolf play in a, you know, in a wolf play San Jose at a 1030 Eastern start or 1047 Eastern
start.
Wolf, where I'm at with him is he continues to progress.
my heart hurt for him the other night.
He should have got a shut out.
Totally.
There should be a rule when you make a save like that.
It doesn't matter if it crosses the line.
I'm sorry.
You just, you, it's like you give, you know, tie goes to the runner.
Tie goes to a great save.
I'm sorry, you're getting the shut out.
L.A. you weren't going to win anyways, so give him the shut out.
But I don't know, Boomer.
It was it you or was it you Pender that said this, all this guy is done everywhere he's gone,
has been elite and, you know, we're seeing him grow right in front of our eyes.
Still, what is the ceiling?
What is, you know, one week is not going to change that.
To me, it's one season or an 18-month span.
But he's on a nice trajectory, and it's really nice to see because he's a talented
goaltender.
He's got some fire.
He's got some jam to him.
I still feel he's got to be perfect a lot of times just because he's not going to be able
to get hit with the puck a lot of times.
You know, I watched Anthony Stolars last night in that Toronto game.
You know, he made some saves because he's six foot six.
That's really what it was.
He just got hit with a few that, you know, good chances in tight.
I'm like, this guy, there's just no room because he's too big.
Wolf's never going to get that.
But where I'm at with him is, man, you know, a lot more is chipped away of what I think of
him in a week because of what I'm seeing.
Like it's another couple real nice performances.
He's, he's legit.
Yeah, we were talking about it earlier.
I said, it's like you're waiting for the shoe to drop.
Yeah, he was good, but he's, even if it's not the size thing.
But what about this or what about that?
And then you keep watching, well, okay.
Yeah, he's, he's making some saves.
And yeah, he's not making some saves.
Maybe a bigger goal he doesn't make just because he's so athletic and his feet are so good.
And his reaction is, you know.
He's done it in other leagues and other scenarios and there's a bit of a trend here.
Wait a minute.
It's not like he just got small.
He's been the smallest undersized goalie that no one thought could do it.
And the nets aren't bigger.
Midget and Phantom and Peewee and then junior and then the American League.
He's been too good for every single league he's played in until this one.
And he's looking pretty damn good here in his first full year.
Well, you look at it like there's a cycle of goaltending of young goalies coming.
Like he's one of them and he's damn good.
Good. Now, I just, I'm excited. I wish, sometimes you wish you could have a magic wand to just hand somebody three years experience and go, what are you going to look like at 28 years old or 27 years old as a goaltender is really they start to mentally and physically mature?
He's not, the crazy part is he's not going to get worse. He's just going to get better and better. And we're already seeing some real special things.
And Vladar, like, give him credit.
Like, I think he's a, like, he's not some pushover.
He's a goalie.
And he's a legit goalie and he has some value.
I don't know what, if Connie goes to move him, I don't know what he gets.
Definitely needs to get a second rounder at minimum for him.
I think that's what they paid for him.
But he's a nice player.
And we're going to for a third when they had Swamen and he in the minors in Boston.
That's right.
Sorry.
So third.
I mean, I'm sorry.
you're getting more than the third for him.
I think, you know, I think Connie could do that.
Again, I'm not in these meetings or whatever,
but I just think, you know, Connie has the luxury of waiting on that
and seeing how this tandem unfolds this year.
Have you had much of an opportunity to see Winnipeg this year?
Yes, yes.
I did their game the other night.
They're serious, man.
Like, they went into Madison Square Garden last night,
wins six three dogs lost to move to 15 and one obviously the seven no on the road shyfully two
goals Connor two goals the goal he's good greatest start in initial history um yeah yeah so i just
kind of get your wanted to get your your sense and take on so we always pick apart teams and go okay
you know because of the cap they're they're this so you you know they need more here or geez
i'd like that that number four defenseman to not you know not he should probably be a six
like the way they're constructed,
like they're not,
there's no imbalances in their roster.
And, you know, I come back to health.
Cole Perfetti is a player.
It just, it's taking them a little longer to arrive.
Okay.
Valardi, health was a big problem last year.
Nikolai Ehlers, health has been always a knock against him.
You get a healthy team and then you can start to look and go,
geez, we've got some depth here.
You know, I've always said,
And I'm biased because we played with Pye and I've known Adam Lauer since he was a kid.
And that, like, I think he's the best third line centerman in the league.
I just, you know, and he could climb up the lineup.
But I just, he's a great leader.
He's a bastard to play against.
And I say that endearingly.
You know, he just, they have depth in every position where you're like, okay, that's a nice third line.
That's a, you know, that fourth line is really serviceable.
Boy, that, you know, and I look at it.
is Winnipeg is not a sexy market, as we all know.
So you have to draft and develop and use the CBA to keep your players there.
But then all of a sudden last year, it's like we're all like Winnipeg's done because Shifley and Helibbuck,
they're out of there.
And on the same day, Chevy comes out and goes, yeah, I got these guys committed eight years.
And it like decent money, like Hellebuck at eight million.
Like it's insane or eight, what is it, eight, eight.
In a quarter.
Yeah, but it was, it didn't feel, it was not a hometown discount, but it.
It wasn't crazy, a crazy overpay at all.
It wasn't a disgusting overpay where you're like, I've always said on any, some of these markets, you know, before McDavid was in Ebinton, it was Edmonton, it's Winnipeg, it's Ottawa, it's Carolina, you know, maybe not the sexiest on paper.
So it's like you've got to do the market tax, add an extra million bucks on if a guy wants to go there as a free agent.
But everybody who's there wants to be there and there's just no weakness.
Like I look at Shevolde off being patient with Logan Stanley.
and now he's become, he's a player.
Like he's a big, long, mean defenseman.
And the game I did, it's like goal, fight.
You know, I'm like, this guy is really arrived.
And I look at his comparables, like, I think he might have a little bit better hands than Carson Susie.
But maybe he's Nicholas Haig from Vegas, you know, just a guy who is like in that slot and really tough to play against.
And Morrissey just has gotten better.
he knows how to play.
And I just, I look at that group, Pionk, you know, Mello, like just, they play hard.
They play mean.
The goalie makes some saves.
And there's just, they're like a machine.
They just go out there and play.
And we'll see.
They're going to have a dip at some point.
They're going to have some adversity, all of that.
But you asked me watching them, man, oh, man, like the only game they lost was against the
Leafs.
And if there was three more minutes in that game, they would have tied it up.
They might have won it in.
in regulation because they got to 5-4, I think,
and then there was an empty net or two empty nets
or something like that.
But it was like, you know,
they,
I think the Leafs were up 5-1,
because Hellebuck didn't have a good game.
And you could tell they were just a little off that night.
And then they got their game going as it went along.
And the Leafs like held on by the end.
So I look at Winnipeg.
They're a serious,
serious team.
They were able to navigate some rough waters.
If you go back to when Jacob Truba wanted out.
Yeah.
They held on and they waited, well, we'll trade you when it's good for us.
They got Pionk, among other things, in that deal.
And now Pionk's been great for them.
The whole Wheeler, Shifley, you know, they're, remember Rick Bonas left and crushed them at the end of the years.
Paul Maurice quit.
Paul Maurice quit.
And now Shifley, they get him re-uped.
They get the goaltender re-uped.
And then it was the Dubois thing.
Yeah.
Well, that was last.
They got Filardi.
and Rasmus Kupari and and Valardi,
you watch that, if you watch any amount of the games,
he's a, he's almost the straw stir and the drink for them a lot of nights.
They have had some tough things dealt to them, situations dealt to them.
And credit to Shevolde off, I've been critical because it feels like sometimes
he sits in his hands and he doesn't get enough done and maybe you just can't
because of the market or whatever.
But those were, those were potentially tough scenarios that he,
if not hit a home run, they came out better on the other end of it.
Well, and he spent some currency.
Like, we had him on our show, and I've talked to him.
Like, I played with Chevy and the miners and stuff.
He talked to him.
Like, they've spent some currency.
Like, they went and got to Foley.
They went and got Monaghan.
Like, they, you know, they added, and it cost them, you know, draft picks and stuff.
Like he said, we've gone all in.
We've tried to add some currency to our group to let them know.
Didn't work out.
You know, I didn't love their playoffs.
They stunk against Colorado.
they just fell apart.
The goalie wasn't making saves.
Their system wasn't there.
And Colorado just turned up the heat and ran him out of the building.
But I look at just the sneaky moves.
You know, Nemesticov coming back.
Like Nita Ryder.
Not the sexiest the names, but really good players.
Like really efficient players.
And, you know, I talked about that third line,
Nita Ryder, Lauerie and Appleton.
Like Appleton kind of returns again and just a solid player.
But you mentioned, like Kupari.
I have followed, like Barron, like just big, speedy, you know, tough to play against.
Like, I look at this group and I just, I think they've got it all put together.
And you mentioned, like, I don't know if something was bad there.
Like, I don't know if there's culture.
I don't know if it was certain people.
Like, I don't, have you guys watched that, that, I don't know what the hell it was called,
the prime thing, the six.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I thought Trubas was the worst and the weirdest.
like everybody else's.
I don't know if you guys would watch it,
but go and watch it.
Everybody else was like up for dinner
with his teammates and kind of, you know,
behind the scenes.
And Truba's like out for dinner with like some art dealer,
like from New York City.
And you're like, well, who's that guy?
Like, why is he, you know,
this guy and his wife and the wife's going,
I don't even watch hockey.
You're like, all right, well, you know.
How you on the show?
Yeah.
And like Truba.
His release, which is kind of cool, he's very artsy.
So he actually like paints and does art and body art.
You'll see it in the special.
But I thought his was the most unique.
It was like there was nothing.
If you would have taken the hockey part out of Jacob Truba, you're like, that's, that's just the person who's in the art district in New York City.
Like you had no idea that's the captain of the New York Rangers.
You know, it was, it was a very, I thought his piece was so much different than everybody else's.
You know, the Foresburg one showed him battling through an injury.
And, you know, I like, I like that seeing behind the scenes, because we don't have access that much as fans anymore.
You want it, you want more access.
But I thought Trubis was like way in left field compared to everybody else's.
We saw our first Flames Amazon game on Monday.
Have you had a chance to catch you to the Amazon broadcast?
What are your thoughts?
I've watched every one of them.
Like I have, you know, I have friends on that broadcast.
You know, all of us, you know, we, we, Amazon's hire a lot of U.S. talent, right?
Because a lot of the Canadian talent has non-compete and all of that fun stuff.
I think the broadcast is like anything.
It's a work in progress.
Like people like old, my mom's not finding Amazon Prime.
Like, hey, where's that flame?
Not tonight.
Not like you got to still, you just got to condition.
people to go there, right? Because I'll be honest, I went to turn it on on my TV and I'm like,
it's not there, not there. Oh, for God, it's on, you know, Prime, so then you dial it up on the app or
on the computer. It is the way of the future. I've watched Dallas Star Games on Victory Plus,
the new app that I'm actually an investor in. And I think it's an unbelievable setup there.
Like they've done a, they've done a great job. The parent company is actually out of Calgary.
Yeah, I know a couple of guys in there. It's crazy. I think they started some
Kids TV channel.
It's called Koodle.
Neil Gruninger is the CEO and Neil's a good friend of mine.
But they're honestly, that's the wave of the future is streaming and having access
for your fans that, you know, it's almost like creating your own channel.
And they've done that for Dallas and they've done that for Anaheim.
I think Amazon Prime, Adnan, I'm a fan of.
I think they're the people that they brought in.
They might not be the ones that they end with,
but they brought in some good people.
Andy Petrillo is a good friend of ours,
and I think she does a great job.
So I like the broadcast.
I like everything attached to it,
but I still think from just a semantics aspect,
you know, this is ground zero.
So they're just working out all the bugs.
They'll be ready when those national rights are up again in Canada.
I'd suggest it.
I think that's what's so brilliant about it for them,
is they got a two-year head start.
That's really what they did, is they go,
hey, we're going to debug this for the next two years.
And then when the rights are up, you know, they have nothing but cash.
So we'll see how it goes.
One of the things we talked about it briefly, I guess, yesterday.
Just it's little things.
I like that they had the setup in the concourse.
Where sometimes if you go to Ryan Leslie or whoever downstairs,
you have to kind of be quiet because you're right outside the locker room.
Well, that's the way to bring energy to the game or to the broadcast where you have to be,
where you have to be kind of hushed.
You got ad and that's, hey, we're back here at Calgary.
We're doing this.
It's the game.
And then the other thing that I, when the game was over, ordinarily, that's it.
It's a 3-1 final here in Vancouver, whatever is next.
Off they go to Toronto to watch the thing.
And then they might come back to the rink.
They hung around.
All right.
So let's talk about the game.
Yeah.
Let's go back up to the guys in the broadcast booth.
Let's go to downstairs.
We'll hear from one of the players.
Let's talk about it.
Snap, it's over.
Yeah.
I like having a little, let it breathe a little bit.
I'm still watching.
The game's just finished.
What so what else can you tell me about the game?
I like it.
I like that too because traditional linear TV, it's like going back to SportsCenter,
going back to connected, whatever they got, and into the studio hosts,
and they throw to whatever else they've got or their highlight show,
this is a package.
So they're going to sit around and BS and engage the fan.
And I don't, again, it's how we consume our information now.
Like that's what you want.
Like you want instantaneous.
You want interaction.
you want to see behind the scenes,
I think they're going to be,
as they get more comfortable,
they'll be more creative.
And that's my point is that,
like I like the broadcast now.
I love all of our broadcasts.
Like I was,
I did last night with Kenzie LaLone.
And it was first a woman play-by-play for TSN.
She was fantastic.
But like, it's just, you know,
things are changing,
dynamics are changing.
And I don't mind companies that challenge,
oh, this is how we've always done it.
Okay, well, so what?
Let's try it this.
way. Let's look at something different.
And to me,
they've got kind of a blank canvas
to do that.
Now, Jack is telling me in my ear here.
We got a message,
Mike Camilleries' kid
has a message the show.
Oh, dear. Because you were talking about
Camillary's kids saw this
highlight of you or something.
Oh, my God. Is it me just getting rinsed here?
We're talking about.
Just the greats.
How about some defense?
Here.
What are you doing?
On verse.
Matthew Schneider.
Come on.
Stick on puck.
But what was I doing?
You could even hook back then.
What do you do?
You don't know it's beer?
You can't see you.
It's the Highliner jersey.
No one can work in those.
They should have,
I mean,
back then you could have chopped this leg off.
He might have got a two-minute penalty.
What am I,
my,
my dear just letting him go.
That's Olai.
That's, this is,
what's that sport where the guys,
that's the,
Yeah, yeah.
Matador.
That's what he's doing.
Olae, LA.
Yeah, we go to the Warner's whiteboard.
Redd likes to kind of go on and, yeah,
right gives us some,
some in-depth analysis when we watch some of the,
I do love the two-pad stack here.
Wow.
Kind of,
wrong way, but kind of a spoke check.
That second angle is not kind of news.
David Barcoo would not be happy with this.
No, it's a bad play.
That's a bad angle.
But how about the, like,
the defenseman just should have taken
the deer right off.
You've got a defenseman sitting here.
Don't be yipping at the D.
Well,
you know what you're paid.
You know what you're paying for him to go through.
Like this is a here.
Direct pass.
Here we go.
Look at the D.
There.
Well, hey, oh.
Hey, we're going.
Hey, oh.
Nice there.
Where are you going?
They didn't know it was Bure.
They thought it was somebody.
That it was a hatcher, apparently.
They thought it was Harold did it.
His arm off.
Do something to him.
I mean, listen, he's not going to get an easier goal than that.
I will tell you that.
Like, look, I'm very frustrated, very sad in my captain Highliner jersey.
I will say this.
In my defense, there was a night.
And maybe Jack, you won't be able to pull this up because I think it was even like,
that was 1994.
But in Vancouver, I started a game.
And I think I got a shout out.
And Bury had three shot at three breakways on me that night.
night.
And I stopped them all, but two hit the post.
So no room news.
You didn't leave me.
So just for, because it's amazing, you think back to that era.
It was hook and hold and muck.
Yeah.
How does the guy get three breakways?
That's how good.
Bure.
But you know what?
Pavel Bury, Ray Whitney told me when he played with him in Florida,
Bure, you know how the winger always covers the, you know,
offside defensemen?
Buree would let the defenseman go in and actually push him.
So he would want the puck to miss the net and come around
so that he could get a breakway.
And so he'd let his D go all the time.
So if the D could actually get a cross-seem pass,
that guy was never going to be covered by Bure.
The other thing he would do,
he would hit his grandmother head first into the boards to get an empty netter.
I've never.
that guy hunted goals like it was like it was going to feed him food that night because
that guy empty netters like he would he he was an animal a dog on a bone so i i i old me last
year he hit all those goals get on my way i know i know do you guys think obi's going to do it
it's not if it's is it this year that's the question right i think this year i think he could
yeah his team is better like he's actually like
The team, they go and get chikrin, you get Mangiopani, you get PLD if he wants to, you know, work that night.
But their team is a lot better.
They go and get Logan Thompson.
You know, Charlie Lindgren's had a good start.
Like they got a better product.
Tom Wilson's healthy and had a nice start to the season.
Like I look at it, Dylan Strom's their number one, I guess number one centerman.
But I look overall, their team is better.
They're having success.
Ovi's a part of it.
Like he's,
he's not just like,
hey,
we're going to play hockey
and try and get Ovi a goal tonight.
They're,
they're right in the mix
and winning games
and Ovi's a part of it.
So it's,
I think it,
it kind of goes hand in hand.
It'll be interesting to see
if he's 15 goals shy,
kind of down the stretch,
like how it looks.
But right now,
they look like they're enjoying hockey.
It's a great spot for them
because even some of the young guys,
I forget who were talking to.
McMichael has been scoring.
So their young guys are coming of age.
And they're all in it.
They all want it to happen.
Oh, yeah.
They're all invested in him getting this, this, this record.
So.
Yeah.
No, they look good.
Like I, we'll see him tonight.
I'm watching, you know, that they play the Leafs tonight on a back to back.
So we'll see how that one unfolds.
But, you know, pretty good.
Looks like a good, good matchups here.
It should be good.
Again, I don't know why Camilleri's kid.
Like, why would he send that into us?
I don't know.
I'm watching the show.
He's still watching.
I thought Jack was on my side.
Jack's on no one's side.
Here's the thing.
Like he's already, you know, he made me sit on hold for six to seven minutes.
He's throwing me under the bus.
Like, you make me change my background all the time.
I got to run like an internet cord all the way up.
Like this cord has to come from my basement just so I can hardwire.
Like it's a process.
I'm going back to the casino.
You guys are getting.
calls from the casino you know full disclosure i did send him a message i'm like can you find this i'm i'm already
on it so uh so yeah not hard to find it's on every top 10 for pavill theory you're a beauty pal
palprici appreciate you have a great week all right guys we chat soon okay it's yeah amy mclan
join us here on the uh crystal waters plumbing and heating insider hotline crystal waters plumbing and heating
your crystal clear choice for home comfort phone number 403 219 4100 check them out at
crystal clear calgary dot com that's a lot there there was a lot there i looked um wolf is 20 to
one today on bet 365 for calder is that not insane like 20 to one so what is what's mishkov
michikov's like even money yeah okay and he's been healthy what twice now well he's we said yeah
he's got four multi-point games he scored it's been very good points in his return and that's just it's going
to be sexier. He's a goal
score in a big market
in the east. I also
think at the beginning of the year, no one
was talking about Wolf. At some point
when you get around the quarter pole
or halfway, people like, oh my God, like, this guy's
eligible. I hadn't even thought about him.
It'll change. Now the money comes in.
And look, again, we don't think he's going to
be the top goalie at five on five
save percentage through the whole year, but it's been
a half a start. 20 to 1, why not?
Like, Lane Hudson is
almost half of his odds. That's crazy.
He's he. Celebrini's ahead of him. He's missed three weeks.
Stancovin plus 180.
He'll make that up that three week.
And maybe there's just goalie bias in that award.
There's 100% goalie bias. We know.
Just like the MVP. What do you got to do to win the MVP as a goalie?
You probably have to have like the best season in a quarter century.
We talk about it with defense. What's more alluring?
The swift skating, high scoring D man.
There's still a place for a guy who is solid and keeps
Pugs out of his neck.
They need an award for that.
It's not as exciting.
They need an all-around defenseman and the offensive defenseman.
There should be two awards there.
Rod Langway.
We need it.
Rod.
Imagine if you went to the rink today and said,
so you kind of remind me of Rod Langway.
Do you know who that is?
If you asked your kid.
I didn't know.
No, I don't,
I don't know Rob Blake or Brian Leach.
No, Nick Lidstrom.
I know.
Oh, that's sad.
Isn't it?
It is.
It's very sad, but true.
It's so sad.
Dad, who's Robert Orr?
He's an agent.
I looked him up.
He represents this guy.
Want to send some love out to our good friends at the hearing loss clinic,
locally owned and operated.
They are the very best at what they do.
People of all ages can suffer from hearing loss.
I'm one of them.
Right here.
This guy.
This guy right here.
The big fella.
It can be especially challenging for kids.
Sometimes you get into it.
and this, well, why are the marks, you know, the schoolwork, it's not going, what if the kids
missing out on a lot of the important info that they need? Studies are also showing that health
risks like dementia, depression, and others have been linked to untreated hearing loss. And we talk
about, you go to the dentist, you go to do all these other things to keep your health and to
keep your self-care or whatever you want to call it. I think that somewhere along the way we've
just kind of forgotten about our hearing, because you just don't know until you know. And
chances are if you go in and have an assessment, you'll be blown away by what the hearing loss
clinic can do for you. Custom ear protection, musician molds, and of course, hearing aids
and different devices to help you out in, uh, and they're going to point you in the right
direction. It's not about selling you hearing apparatus. It's about changing your life. Five
locations in Calgary, hearing loss clinic and the, the brand new Chinook location.
Oh, convenient. It's over by Chinook. That's a sexy location. It is. Yeah, it's very nice.
five locations in BC, Cranbrook, Crest and Fernie, Golden, and Invermere.
Helping you hear better is simply their way of helping you live better.
Book an assessment at hearing loss.c.a.
We're going to go in.
We have to get our schedules in a, yeah.
It's hard.
It's not really.
We're just not good at it.
Some people are always on vacation and taking time.
So it's some of us are here.
Old man.
Walking sticks.
We all work just here.
What are you guys talking about?
Cruz is trudging along.
Season started, so I guess I'm working.
That's right.
He's the walking six guy.
Isn't that funny?
It's quite a, it's the plot twist nobody saw coming.
It is.
Yeah.
It really is.
Wow.
Boxing the six guy.
Yeah.
Just trudging along.
Who knew?
Yeah.
Hearing lost out.
CA.
No days off.
Jack, me and you.
No days off.
Good work on the noodles there, Jack.
Well done.
Good stuff, hey.
Thanks for crushing our guests.
You know, not to take away from your performance today, which has been spectacular, Jack.
I think that we could add that in on a weekly basis.
Noodles gave up enough goals.
We will never run out of.
Yeah, just have a file folder.
When he comes on before you show his mug the goal, and he will appreciate it.
This star scored on noodles.
Today, we definitely should do that.
Pavel Burray.
Jamie, before we let you go.
It is Wednesday.
I think before we bring him on,
just a goal on him.
When you know he's watching?
What if it's,
oh,
and to our guests,
why we didn't know you were there.
What if it's that sandwich where you tell your kids.
The shit sandwich?
Yeah,
where it's,
is it good,
bad,
good or so,
you know,
I guess we won't have three,
but it was like,
if we brought him in with a save,
and then he wouldn't suspect it,
but at the end,
hey,
before you go.
Right.
So it'd be.
It's not quite a sandwich,
coming in with a positive attitude,
and then we just,
shuffle him out the door.
Just drill it all the way out.
Turnberger.
He's good at it though.
He's good at taking it.
He's good at giving it as well.
He is good at giving it for sure.
He really would like this.
Yeah.
He did get very defensive about, like,
Matthew Schneider.
That poke check was going.
What are he doing?
Did you see where a stick went?
It went into Burry's skates.
It was really close.
I don't know what he, yeah.
Are you trying to trip him?
If so, that's a great move.
Yeah, you don't want to break down that safe or attempted.
Yeah, that back angle from behind the net.
good where he just kind of lays down again like the players that let buree scoot right down the
middle i think he was like whoa it's buree it would be one of those things whatever you do
don't let beret beat you wide because once he gets around you he's cutting in all right
two feet off the boards i'll just go down main street then if that's what you think that's pretty
good where are we going guess the wrong side he just he went with the odds he was like if i lay down
I'm going to this one is
Burry's going backhand.
Nope.
I was wrong.
Okay.
50 50.
He looks like a soccer goal.
He's guessing.
Penalty shot.
It's like I got to go one way or the other.
I'm going to go this way.
That free stream is perfect because burry,
everything in his whole body is leaning left and noodles is jumping to the right.
Watch the free stream right here.
I must stack the pads.
Ah,
we're going to miss.
If by some fluke.
He happens to fire it right into my pads.
At least I'll have two of them stacked one on top of the other.
That's pretty good.
Yep.
Thanks, Jamie.
You know how sour he would be if he knew that we laughed while he was on and then doubled
back while he was after he left.
It's the rest of our show.
Oh, I'll hear about us.
Oh, yeah, noodles.
They went on for like 20 minutes after you were done.
And they kept crushing those bastards.
All right.
Let's do the, let's do the Pinder Report.
A presentation of Village Honda, Northwest Automol, VillageHonda.com.
We keep saying it over and over.
They're part of the Wood Automotive Group.
If you drive through the lot and you're not sure,
it wasn't really, you go in, you have a coffee, you sit down.
Here's kind of what we're, we're a family of X.
We need X and kind of this, what we're looking for.
They're going to go through all of the entire database
with the Wood Automotive Group and find what it is you're looking for
so that you don't have to do all the work.
You let them do all the work for you.
Your dealership for life is Village Honda.
and for some reason they present the Ryan Pinda.
Pindra.
Pinder report.
Also gave a big hug to Anthony.
Big shoes to Phil.
Saturday.
Big day.
Did he leave the people he came with to go down and insert himself into the celebration?
He had placed himself with a designated driver deep into the sauce and was smiling ear to ear.
Nice.
Well, strong move.
Well done.
Hey, good start for the flames last night in Vancouver, right?
Great start.
And as Thomas Durantz, interestingly points out,
of course, Justin Kirkland would score at the NHL rink
that's got a Costco next door.
You've been to that Costco, underground downtown?
I know it's there.
It is there.
It is the BC place Costco.
It was right there with the rink.
How about it?
Yeah.
This is a pro pros.
After that Kirkland goal, not a lot of scheduled loss.
That's what we're going to go with.
We're sticking to it.
Here are the standings after the Flames,
incredibly busy run,
one setback last night.
Still in a wild card.
Still ahead of the und Dynasty somehow
through 17 games here, although the Oilers
two hold a game in hand.
All right.
Kind of in the mucky middle territory.
They played a lot more games than most of their competition,
but here we go.
Let's look at the sked.
What were you going to say?
Just looking.
I think there's this belief
and rightfully so that they're going to be in that hunt
before is Colorado right?
Just on the outside looking in and you're like, who are you knocking out on this page?
Oh, yeah, no.
I'm sort of more looking at who they'll be replacing below.
Could Utah be four points better than them with two games in hand over the rest of the year?
Yes, they could.
Keep playing that game as you go down.
We'll see.
Schedule after five games in eight days and five different cities and three different time zones,
they will play once in a week.
That's right.
A bit of a homestand.
Tuesday to Tuesday, only a game in Friday night.
As the last place, Nashville Predators,
whoa, hang on.
Last place, National Predators?
Yes, the last place, Nashville Predators
will be visiting the Dome in a battle of,
we never saw this coming,
but different versions of it.
Yeah, it'd be interesting to know how many people
did have these types of predictions.
Like it would be me and anyone else?
You did not predict it to be last.
Even you, this is worse than you would have imagined.
You did not have San Jose, Chicago better than Nashville.
On that schedule, that they play the Islanders next week.
The Islanders were in Edmonton last night.
Yeah.
And then they're playing.
How long is that road trip for them?
And the scheduled loss, I looked at Rogers Arena.
Yeah.
Not a lot going on today.
No, hey, could have done that one tonight.
Hmm.
So I worry about the Islanders, I guess.
I'm going to look at this Islander schedule.
That is absolutely insane.
Because today is Wednesday.
Last night was Tuesday.
They're in the province.
Tuesday.
Are they doing the Vancouver, Seattle, California,
like what the hell's got?
They got the circus and what's going on?
What's going on?
That new bar note out there in Long Island.
So here it is.
Edmonton last night, Vancouver on Thursday,
Seattle next Saturday, flames on Tuesday.
Then they stop in Detroit on the way home.
Good to see the Islanders, though.
Erase the two gold deficit in third period last night.
Kudos friends.
So that was the schedule.
Let's look at the, well, we told you what Nashville coming to town.
Where are they again?
Well, I mean, maybe it's just our perspectives all wrong on the predators because potentially maybe they're just simply the best.
There's your inverse standings.
Good Lord.
Wow.
And so you're in the Anaheim Columbus Montreal grouping.
Great for the draft.
Not what Stammer signed up for, I'm guessing.
And not what Barry Trots had in mind when he you're really going to have to like Tootsies.
Shelled out a few hundred million.
It is a great spot, though.
At least you have Tutsis if it's going to be.
And you know, I'm glad they got paid because the inflation of Tutsis is wild.
It's very rough.
Yeah.
Boy, it used to be, just pour your glasses of booze for a couple dollar bills.
Now you need 20s.
Credit card statement.
You know, it doesn't matter where you are.
My dad would say, holy snap and arseholes.
That's a piss cutter, dude.
It's a bit of a piss cutter.
Let's go to.
ESPN stirring it up.
This is what we like.
We got noodles on it.
We got ESPN.
We got to keep fighting the good fight for.
15 years since Steve Mason won the Calder,
the last goalie to do it.
That's Ryanis Clark.
We did a great job covering the abs for some time,
and I believe he's been doing some work in Seattle as well.
It is a rare thing.
Maybe that's what 20 to 1 is the right number,
but it seems so wrong.
Seems so wrong.
Yeah, but name me a goalie that should have won.
Yeah, I don't know.
That's a good question.
So put that.
Dustin Wolf, there's a guy that should win it.
All right.
Coblammo.
Can they finish ninth from the bottom and have Dustin Wolf win the Calder?
Can I be that greedy?
It seems hard.
It seems hard.
I don't know because he got to win the games and play well.
Just going to lose the games.
To finish in the bottom 10, but be regarded as good enough to.
Maybe he wins all his.
Lidar loses all his.
Maybe the Calder, not the Vesna is probably.
I'm not told no for the Vesna.
All right.
That's a lot.
Too much too soon.
Ryan Pike did something that I would wish upon not even my,
Worst enemies.
He is trying to go through the conditions of the first round pick going to Montreal
for the Sean Monaghan trade.
That should be quick, right?
13 minutes.
13 minutes.
So there's a lot of stipulations, though.
As it says in the graphic here, too many conditions.
Yeah.
I thought you meant for Pike.
Like he looks ill.
That's the pain that comes along with sorting this out, friends.
Pike bomb, it's not simple.
So is it a Pike bomb?
No, it's more of a,
I don't know. Yeah, it's a Pike's something, it's a Pike's Rubik cube is really what it is.
The bomb's a simple bang. This is much more complex than that.
Some deep analysis. So where do we find this?
The YouTube's, yeah, Ryan Pike's social media, good place for that as well.
Let us slide on last night, the Jets, the wagon, well, it continues to roll friends.
Dogs on Broadway.
plays.
The Jets continues.
They are 15 and 1.
He'll bat it through.
Well, anyway, it was a great game.
So there you see it.
And they won.
Big win.
The Dream Star continues.
JETE.
Nothing to see here.
New York.
There's the real top of the standings.
Oh, that's 30 points.
Look at the cushion there.
That's 30 points you can't take away.
they will play another 66 games still.
You go 500, you're basically 100 points.
Pretty wild.
Wow.
Impressive stuff.
Devils have played three more games than them.
And they're not really falling into horse bleep wins.
No, they're earning them.
Yeah.
For they averaging four goals a night.
I think I read this morning.
Good goaltening, great offense, good depth.
It is one of those things, though.
And noodles kind of talked about it.
You always heard if they're ever healthy, if they can ever all,
if the roster that has been constructed,
but they're never,
Valardi's hurt and Kupari was hurt.
And then these bums were in first place two years ago.
And they never missed the playoffs.
And they also were on a home ice team against the abs and got thumped in the playoffs.
You know what do they need to do?
Why does this hellabuck resign?
Well, he loves fishing.
That's all right.
He's a big fisherman.
Outdoors.
Loves it.
Loves the outdoors.
Dustin Bufflin,
Big fish.
That's all you need to do
when you sit down
at the draft for your,
who are your hockey heroes?
Well,
what does winning mean to you?
Do you fish?
What,
do you fish,
hunt?
Fly fish?
You want to own a log cabin?
Is there much fly fish?
There wouldn't be out there.
They have the catfish
in the red river,
I think.
Is that good eating or is that bad eat?
I think it's okay.
Really?
I'm told it's okay.
I'm not sure.
I don't like to look at them.
seeing it in the restaurant, the old catfish.
Yeah, but, uh, there's not a lot around.
Do you like ice fishing?
Do you own an auger?
We'll get you know, like saying the word, auger and an ice shack.
Is that what they gave their guys for Christmas?
That's right.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Here you go, fellas, when, when Helibuck plays his 1,000th game.
So then fellas, a gold-plated auger.
The, the $100 million question then for Kevin Shevoldeoff is do Neil Pionk and Nikolai
Eilers?
like ice fishing.
Both UFAs, both up at the end of the year.
Vlad and Mastikov and a few others are,
but those are two very important players to this group.
Eilers and Pionk, I would call Corpices.
A storyline to follow.
Much like I said they should have went and got Giordano.
They should go after Anderson.
It could still go after Giordano.
Yeah, Gerardown's available.
I was thinking about Gio the other day.
I bet you he's not doing good.
I don't mean it to be depressed.
He'll be very sad.
No, I mean, not in a.
Why is it?
He's a guy that wants to play.
Oh, yeah.
Like, what percentage of players get to go out on their own terms?
One?
Few.
It's a short list.
Like, Gray Bork and Lanny McDonald and.
Dave Andrewchuk?
Very short list.
He quit too soon.
Didn't Andrew Chuck play another year after?
Did he?
I think he did.
And he was terrible.
No, by.
See, that's on his own terms.
Take it back.
Take that back.
Anyway, it's the Pender Report.
Let's keep moving.
I had a hell of a tilt.
Thanks, Dean, last night.
Panthers Devils, two teams' favorite to win their divisions, depending where you look.
And tilt of the year, Jonah Gajovic and friend of the show, Brendan Dillon.
Blocked in front.
That hit Dylan, and he was stunned.
Noshick puts it behind the net.
Hamilton looks to reverse it and does.
And now we've got a drop on the blows.
Heavyweight battle.
Gajavich throwing blows with Brendan Dillon.
Wow.
Oh,
yeah,
I would not be happy with that jersey.
And look at Gadsdenich.
He can't see anything.
He is just throwing.
Might as well keep throwing.
And he's landing.
He actually catches a couple.
That's as good as I've seen this year in the NHL, fellas.
You know what that is?
Does that get anything better?
That's a good old-fashioned slobber knocker.
That really is.
Two guys starting a lawnmore.
Hoo!
That's your fight of the week right there.
Fight of the month.
Maybe fight of the year.
Aye, aye, y'i.
And so,
What does today look like for these fellas?
Probably a lot of ice on knuckles, I'd think.
I'm going to the beach.
Coach, day off.
Yeah, clunk, clunk, clunk.
Remember last year, Dylan scrapped to Vander Cain around this time in the season?
Buckets off, let's go.
I mean, credit to catch.
He takes on some heavies.
He can't see.
He's even going up.
He throws a couple uppercuts in there.
Punch your hand.
Man, impressive tilt.
Well done, guys.
Okay, got a little trivia for you fellas.
last night, five points back of 1,000 was Connor McDavid.
He casually threw together a four point night, as one does.
Oilers scored four and needed overtime to get the two points.
Welcome to the Un Dynasty.
One point away from a thousand.
Pretty cool.
Happened quickly.
He's not yet 28, friends.
Wow.
99 guys to 99.
So I have trivia for you, fellows.
There are eight players that have a thousand.
points that are active in the NHL.
Just eight, six of one cups.
It's mostly bound for the Hall of Fame superstars.
It'll fire away.
And I'll tell you how many points?
Crosby is 10th in points all time.
1612.
Malkin is 36th, 1314.
The points.
Ovi.
OV. 1568.
He's the second highest active, only behind Sid.
13th all time.
Now you got to go think about guys that have won cups.
Multiple cups.
Is McKinnon there?
Nate Tag's only one?
No, he's not. And he would be too young, right?
So we're talking a thousand points.
The active and a thousand plus points.
We've got three of the eight.
And the clue is of the...
Copatar is 1229, 45th all time.
He is fifth active.
Okay.
When he wasn't winning cups, this guy was in that era,
2010 to 2016.
Patrick Kane.
Kane is 38th all time, 12.9.
You got five?
That's the top five.
You got the top five.
There's three left.
Yeah.
Juru?
Jureux, 69,078.
Preeze?
No, not active.
Huberto?
Huberda.
Stam Coast, 59th all time.
1145.
He's got two cups.
And Cooch.
Cooch is not there yet.
Really?
Isn't that wild?
John Tavares,
78th all time,
1,054 points.
David will join that group in the next few evenings.
Sid, Ovi, Malkin, Kane, Kopitar, Stamkos,
Giroux, Tavares.
All of them Cup winners, except Juru and Tavares.
And he'll be fourth fastest, as we found out yesterday.
What was the...
Insane.
Peter Stastity right now is fourth,
so he'll move past old Pete.
And the other two would be Lemia, Gretzky, and...
Yorzby?
Yogs?
Was it Yogger?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I remember.
Ryan back to you.
Thanks, team.
Trade yesterday in the NHL.
What?
Capital's bringing in a great soundbite from a decade ago as they reacquire.
Former winner and cup winning goal score.
Lars Eller.
Lordseller brought me a fruit basket in the bottle of line.
Third rounder in 2027.
Jack, Sid will still be playing then, but he won't when that pick turns into a player.
and the fifth rounder next year.
I guess this year, excuse me.
So it's a noodles point.
Caps are good.
Caps are good.
Pens are not.
Let's go to Jack for live Pittsburgh analysis.
Jack,
keep trading players.
Trade them all,
except for Crosby.
Malcolm can go,
the tank can go.
I don't know if you could trade Carlson,
but he can go.
Russ can go.
Hayes can go.
What about the goaltender?
Jari can go.
What about the other one?
I don't know who's taken Jari.
Blumquist or needle?
I don't like, they're okay.
They don't make a lot of money.
They can stay.
What about the coach?
I just want you to say his name.
Fire the coat.
Needledick,
Nick Jelkevich.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's way beyond.
He has to be fired immediately,
Mike Sullivan.
Like,
he's the longest leash ever.
They haven't done anything in like five years.
I don't disagree.
And he might get fired,
but I would have a hard time putting this on his head.
It's a bit of a,
yeah,
it's a cluster at all levels,
fellas.
Who's coming in there to,
turn that around.
Yeah, I don't know the coaching is going to be.
You might have to do it just because.
Yeah, I think at some point you just have to make a change.
For the sake of making it change.
I don't know if they should have fired Tomlin too.
I don't want to redo the whole thing, but this is why that deal is so sad
because we're going to watch sit on a shitty team for three fires.
What about Mike Tomlin though, Jack?
Hey, what's Tomlin?
He'd get him in at the point.
Hang on.
On the, on the deserves to get fireometer.
Is he like in Matt Canada territory?
Mike Sullivan now?
Yeah, past that.
Oh, geez. Wow. We were calling for it last year.
Wow. Well, he was called for it last year. Canada hasn't done anything, but.
Oh. Yeah, I'm done with Mike Sullivan. He can. Really? I'm done with. Okay. I wasn't sure about that.
Now that he's made it clear. Uh, tonight's actions, take a look. Some people telling me it's a Wednesday.
Not sure to believe him or not. Uh, Sid and the shoot him into the sun, Mike Sullivan led penguins at home to Detroit.
that feels like a crippling loss there.
Interesting one in Washington, Toronto was shut out last night by Linus O'Mark.
Well, they bounce back.
Their dogs on the road against Washington, Utah and Carolina.
Also, the Kings travel to Denver where the abs are a game away from the return of Valde Chuskin.
Sounds like he'll go Friday.
Friday. Friday.
And the nightcap, it is the orange ducks against the Golden Night Night.
There you go.
There you go.
There you go.
There you go.
Rhett, obviously you're very excited.
One of our national cultural landmarks on the calendar is the Grey Cup.
And you're excited for the Grey Cup featuring who this year?
I'm not excited for the Grey Cup.
The Ryder's lost.
So who is playing in the Grey Cup this week?
Toronto and Winnipeg.
Sunday.
I hate both.
In the city of.
Blue,
Toronto.
It's Vancouver.
Very good.
And yes, it is the Argos again.
This weekend?
That is this weekend.
They don't do the two weeks.
I thought they did it a two weaker.
That's what they do in the NFL.
That's correct.
Yeah.
So Sunday.
Sunday Sunday.
I'm going to make something good though.
Well, hang on here because I got bad news for a reason.
I think I'm with you.
You know what?
I'm going to sit down and watch the great.
It's the great cup.
It's the great cup.
Now here's the thing.
It's going to be like pregame all day.
They're going to have concerts.
They've got the Jonas Brothers singing.
They got some catchy hook that's in my head every time I see the commercial.
But on the other channel, it's going to be.
Chiefs and Bill.
Oh,
I'm not watching the Great Cup.
And then followed by Chargers Spengal.
Oh,
I'm,
yeah,
Pip.
Yeah,
I won't be watching.
Pip.
Yeah,
maybe.
So once the bills and Chiefs is over.
I'm,
I am going to go out of a limb today and say the bills are going to just absolutely trounce the chiefs this week.
This has been our Grey Cup coverage brought to you by.
Undefeated shitty chiefs.
Trouncing?
Yes.
Like,
I like the bills to win.
I think that's great,
but you think you're blowing the doors.
They're going to kick the snout of them.
I love it.
The spread can't be big enough.
Red would lay 14.
Really?
Nobody circles the way against Dean.
Like the Buffalo Bills.
Where's the game?
The great cups in Vancouver.
Okay.
Toronto?
It's not Toronto.
Remember the bills are playing in Toronto?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that was a great idea.
God, they love football in Toronto.
Sure do.
NCAA.
NFL, CF, CF.
CFL,
college.
You get dozens of people
showing up for that shit.
So they're out at the same time?
No.
Well,
the Gregs starts at four
so the second half
when the bills
and the chiefs is getting good.
Isn't that one?
Although it's a blowout
like you're saying.
Like if they're up 21 at the half.
We'll be fine to watch it.
And that game is in Buffalo.
The line?
Anyone want to guess at the line?
I just looked at it.
I hadn't seen it before.
Jack, you want to guess?
The Great Cup line or the bills?
The Great Cup was 10.
The Great Cup was 10.
Bill's at home?
What's the Lills at home?
Bill's at home.
Chiefs undefeated.
Bills minus two and a half.
Six and a half.
Bills plus two and a half.
It is bills minus two.
Take the money and run.
So good luck to Rocket Ishmael and Gizmo Williams this weekend.
Neither one of those played in Winnipeg.
Well, Rocket Ismail did in the Grey Cup.
The Grey Cup was in Winnipeg.
If you remember, he scored a touchdown and somebody threw a drink.
You see the drinks skidding across the turf.
he was with the
he was with the Argos.
So that was back when the Great Cup
used to draw the Super Bowl like three to one.
Is that what it was?
Yeah, that doesn't happen anymore.
Don't know why.
Watch the Grey Cup.
John Bender's going to come in and just like
Canadian tradition.
He's winding them up.
You know,
people say if you talked more CFL,
they'd like it more.
I understand your point of view.
I know John.
I know you love it.
It's okay.
NFL news.
just days after committing to Joe Flacco to being a starter for the rest of the year.
Shane Stike is named Anthony Richardson the starter this week.
Sunday, Flacco for the year.
Monday, Flacco for the year.
Yesterday?
No, didn't say much.
Today, Anthony Richards said the rest of the way.
Do you sit down and watch the game films?
Boy, Flacco was really not very good.
Did I say Flacco was going to start again?
Oh, no, we can't do that either.
That's not, no.
gross very gross you know what anthony get back in there and play well man you know why you're saying
this did you see the transaction that occurred today just picked up anthony richardson for fantasy he's
all over the way of the way of what the hell are you doing chump you know i'm just cheering for anthony
richard come on i need some points give me give me those points give me those points it's on the
way or who's your quarterback what's going on here more so it's just insurance then yeah okay
got it's not a bad move uh uh we love a good coaching interview
especially when they don't get into this loser coach speak let's get some real honest quotes
apparently a player well jack can probably lay this out for us but team lost player on the losing
team got caught up in the celebration of the winning team this is a kirby there's a video on
social media of jake pope seemingly celebrating with some Ole miss fans on the field after the game
just wanted to see if you had seen that and what your reaction to it was yeah what an idiot
I mean, what? I mean, just stupid.
I didn't see it until today, but he's embarrassed about it.
He's upset about it.
That's obviously a childhood friend of his.
He grew up and played with there at Beaufort
and knows him, hadn't seen him in forever, but just not real smart.
But to be honest with you, I don't have time to waste energy on that.
I mean, you know what I'm saying?
Like my focus is on Tennessee.
I'm not worried about that.
I do like that.
What an idiot.
With that accent?
Yeah, what an idiot.
Jack, what an idiot.
He's got some gravel to his voice.
It's beautiful.
Yeah.
It's like he's been yelling at an idiot for a few hours or something.
This couldn't not make the pender apart because it had to be included.
It involves Jack's beloved.
The clip is called Steelers Snake.
Maybe some of those beer snakes in the stands.
It's over the game.
I go out, warm up.
I come back in, right?
Everybody was a little bit shocked when I came in.
I was like, what's going on?
There was a snake in our locker room.
A snake.
And it was coming from the bottom of Russ's locker.
Everybody was, like, thrown for a loop.
A snake in our locker room.
Okay.
How did they get rid of the snake?
Nobody got it.
Wait, no.
Wait a minute.
Nobody got it.
It's slithered right back under.
So there is a snake right now at, is it FedEx Field?
Yes.
How many guys were freaked out?
Oh, there was tons.
Mike, too, was like, we could make a big deal about, you know, small locker room.
They're being a snake, but it doesn't matter.
We still got a win.
So it kind of just played into our mantra.
You heard of snakes on a plane.
Now you've got snakes in a stadium.
There is something about that stadium.
Because wasn't that the one that where the poop water was falling on to the fans a couple years ago?
They had the broken.
Dan Snyder had that place where you could look through and watch the cheerleaders change.
It's a house of horrors.
Isn't that also where the fans, they crashed down the thing on top of Jalen Hertz last year, whatever it is?
It's a piece of shirt.
Be careful at Saddleham back now from there.
I don't have trouble for that.
I did.
Slander.
My kid stepped on some bar on this.
Things fell forward.
It got yelled at.
They're going to kick them out.
We got some video of you and the shoveler this summer showing off for your whole.
I didn't think that got out.
Well, showing off your camera.
Here's the thing.
You took it into the shop.
And I think it's always looked at the camera.
This is your happy song.
You and the shoveler.
Yeah, we celebrate this one.
And look at this.
The built-in cooler in your surfing yacht here.
Honey, would you like one of these?
Shoveler says, yeah, thumbs up.
Let's go.
Now you show off the boat.
Look at this thing.
Lake's empty. We're feeling good.
It's going to walk it back to her. Why not?
Yeah, huh?
Oh, and, uh, well, as long as she just keeps the, oh boy.
Oh, geez.
Oh, no, that's not what we need.
No.
Oh, dear.
Anyway, uh, what do you name in the next boat?
Brett?
See, I, I see these and I feel like it's somebody's got to be at the front.
Somebody's, it's, you know.
It's AI. No, it's, it's staged.
That's what you're saying.
That it's, you know.
worse than AI.
I feel like the person's just standing there
recording this.
It kind of looks like a dash cammy type thing,
but it's not a dash cammy type thing.
But you're right.
It's not sweet.
That camera is further back behind those speakers.
Anyway,
shovel's looking great out there.
She clearly was throwing off by you falling in.
Oh, she's going to save me.
She loves me.
She loves me.
Been a while, fellas,
we've got to jump back in.
It's time for some hippo hijinks on a web.
Very hippos?
Well, I wasn't going there, but what a game.
What a game.
Did you have a favorite hippo?
Was it the yellow, the green?
I didn't really play because I was an only child
and to play Hunger, Hunger, Hippos by yourself
is kind of anti-climactic.
I won every time.
Could make that for the friend.
Sorry.
Yeah, about that team.
No friends?
You need to bring it up that way.
Get on with it.
All right.
What are they eating these hungry, hungry hippos?
Let's take a look.
This is the zookeeper of circle.
That's coming off your pole.
I don't like that angle look at those we even call those aren't teeth are they are they teeth those tusky teethy tusks
there's a lot of consent happening here oh yeah iceberg lettuce delicious
dental work job what can i have blue cheese salad on my uh that curry from bounce out of my uh
That's curry from down.
That is a good boy.
Hey, who likes it?
That is whiskers, huh?
You white's up too?
Oh, easy a good boy.
That's delicious.
Yeah, that's how they make you salad now.
See?
Lovable animals.
Lovable animals.
And here's the thing.
We've got to start incorporating them into our composting plants.
Because every year, how many bleep and pumpkins are rotting on someone's front step right now?
It's true.
Probably someone nice.
So many.
is what we need to be doing. I believe this is what they're doing in the Cincinnati Zoo.
We showed you to Calgary Zoo.
These guys should be eating like chickens.
Zoo should not have any sort of budget for feeding these guys in November.
It should be all pumpkin all the time.
Oh, bang. There it is.
No.
Do you have any broiled seeds?
Big seeds.
You don't like those pumpkin seeds?
No, I don't like the gib of the hippo.
All right. One more hippo.
No, we'll call it, friends.
What have we got, Jack?
More food, let's go.
They like lettuce.
That's a cute little fellow, hey?
And so you're telling me, Jack, these animals kill more humans than any other animal in Africa.
That's a fact.
Not lions, poisonous snakes, hippos.
They look so nice.
Oh, for three, swish.
I saw one the other day.
Some hyena thought he was going to take on a hippo.
Can't do it.
He, uh, fought better on it very quick.
He was misinformed.
Hippo's like, don't make me get out of the swamp.
This is my house.
If I have to get out, I'm comfortable right now.
If I need to get out of here, there's going to be trouble.
I'll stop you.
And the hyena was like, you, you motherfucker.
So the hippo's like, all right.
Okay.
So he starts, he gets up there and gives him one of the,
Abba.
It was like, okay, okay, all right.
Okay.
I'm going to go somewhere else.
Never mind.
Sorry.
From Costco goals to hippo hijinks,
there's your pinned report for Wednesday.
A pinner report brought to you by
Village Honda,
where you could stop by today
and talk with Anthony about Cavalry FC.
Oh, boy, you're excited.
Was he getting hugs?
A lot of hugs.
Everybody hugging?
It was kind of like a championship celebration.
People were,
I have not gotten an update on that trophy.
It would have made some serious.
rounds on.
Village Honda.
Your dealership for life.
Anthony,
big, big soccer guy,
big footy guy.
And they're also very good
at selling you
Hondas.
MSRP, always.
With the new circles.
Go talk to Anthony about it.
Can I,
is there a confetti cannon update
because it was two one game
would have been,
would have gone right down to the wire.
They had,
once the,
the final whistle had blown,
mass celebration,
the tractor came out,
towed out the stage.
And it says,
20,
24 champions.
And then they got on the stage.
stage and they did the, oh, and as they did that, two cannons, white confetti, which is neither
team colors and really my only complaint. Maybe it's Noonan, the commission, need bigger confetti
cannons. Not enough.
Really, eh?
Jack, I'd give the confetti cannons, two at a ten.
One star, need to improve. We'll come back, but room's for improvement.
I didn't stick around for any of the confetti cannons.
You didn't hang around?
She was stuck around, man.
Yeah.
Well, you have to get a ride.
His buddy left him behind.
Yeah.
Is that a wedding?
Anyway, that's, uh, that's the scoop there.
Wednesday.
Better confetti cannons.
Wednesday.
It is when.
Tomorrow, not a game day.
Not a game day.
Friday, day.
Friday, game day.
No other game day still Tuesday.
They're probably off today then, right?
Flames day.
Oh, yeah.
After all that travel and stop.
Hey, come on in.
Let's do the windgate.
Husket.
that effort. Shut it. We lost
to one of our division
rivals. We'll see you at 8 a.m.
A.m. Windgate. Yeah. V-O-2.
Gasers. Fitness check.
No Pucks. Just get ready.
That's definitely the message
you want to spend.
Probably get another off day in there too
pretty quick here, I'd think.
Oh, God. Here we go.
It's four players.
More days off. Off date today.
Practice tomorrow.
day Sunday. Some walking sticks.
They need to take their
cues from you, buddy. They're going to have that
Chief Bill's watch party on Sunday. When the
season starts, it's
you gotta get through.
Somebody's to try to move forward.
Someone's going to try to make Matt Coronado, watch the
great cop, he's like, guys, Bill's Chiefs. Like, come on.
Guys, what are we doing here? Great copy.
What? Like Coleman's like, excuse me?
I don't, you know what, listen, this is a big week for the
CFL. Let's, let's, you know, whatever
you want to call it.
Wait. Do we have a copy of the, uh, that
Cool bracket they did.
The bracket's zero errors this year.
Factual bracket.
Accurate.
Good for them.
Big, big strides.
Well, we're being cheeky about it.
We're going to watch some Grey Cup this weekend.
What are we going to do for food?
That's really what we're getting here.
Chili?
What's the weather?
Food.
I noticed yesterday I was in my deep freeze and in your cozy shirt.
In my cozy shirt.
I've noticed that I've got a couple of packages of stewing beef.
I got very excited.
Stewing beef.
Yeah.
Okay, I'm ignoramus.
Talk to me.
It's,
it's called stewing beef.
And,
cubes.
Yeah, it's cubed,
cubed beef.
And you use it to make stew.
Other things,
but so you'll take your,
your pot or whatever your vessel is,
and you can,
I don't know how you do it.
But a lot of,
they'll take it and you,
you kind of dust it,
you season it with salt pepper flour,
you brown it in there.
And that's going to give you a bit of that,
the flour for the thick,
agent. So you get it nice and brown, get the crispy bits on the, on your beef.
And then you put in either some stock or water, whatever it is. And then you let it kind of do
its thing and it'll get thick. And then you put some carrots and potatoes and some barley in there.
And you know what? The thing about barley. There's no rules. You want to put some celery in there?
Go ahead. Go ahead. It's like chili. I want to put some celery in there. Go ahead.
I like barley. It's a good call. You know what I? The only way that the stew disappoints me is if the
Gravy's too thin.
It's true.
So you're just going to keep reducing it.
That's easy.
Yeah.
So that's easy fix.
You know what you can do is tomatoes.
You can put tomatoes in there.
It'll kind of thicken it up or some,
some Parmesan cheese,
which kind of goes against the,
but that cheese is going to get in there.
You can grate it or you can just throw a lump.
Really?
A lump in there.
Also butter.
All of it is going to help the taste of that stew.
What do they say about butter?
Everything's better with butter.
That's right, Dean.
Everything is better with it.
Is that why you have peanut butter butter buns?
Yeah.
Yes.
So yeah, that's where I'm at in my life, where I went to get something out of the fridge and the freezer and I saw stewing beef.
Great joy.
Oh, great cup.
Yeah, nice.
I didn't know I had any.
It's great.
It's weird you bring it up because the shoveler brought up stew the other day.
Oh, stew.
She wants a stew.
I said, there's no good stews around.
Because then you know what you need with the stew is you got to have some bread.
Are you getting a baguette?
They're getting a nice big fresh baguette.
Are you getting a loaf of sourdough?
What are we doing?
Are you making buns?
What are we doing?
And then you talk about butter and bacon things better.
You're not going to put butter on the bun?
Smears some of the back on there.
Better, better, better.
So my.
Jack,
nice lunch.
Oh, Jack.
Tomorrow's your lunch day.
We should have ordered a pizza.
Yeah,
probably should have.
Because tomorrow you guys do your lunch, your lunch date.
Lunch date ahead of saving Thursdays or football show.
Do you just do the fish and chips every time?
I've been mixing it up because they had it on the special.
It was special.
You couldn't miss.
Yeah.
So special wasn't a no-brainer.
But I've been doing the beef dip.
Got a good game on tomorrow, too.
Manders, Eagles?
Commanders would be mad they lost.
They should be mad.
Stealers.
Going offside.
Idiotic.
The Eagles would be getting soft after they just boat race.
God, did they stomp to cowboys, right?
That was the only pick I got right.
How's that possible?
Picks were not good.
Picks are tough week for picks.
I was sure I had the Eagles,
but I had the Vikings.
It's always disappointing when you come in
and you think you've done well and then you're like.
It's like two for three.
All right.
All those team they won.
I probably picked them.
Let's go in and see.
I must be three for the first.
Oh, sure.
What idiot.
Made these picks.
Jeez.
The giants.
What?
Giants.
Sounds like old Danny Times might be.
That's it.
Yes.
Because he's got that big injury clause.
$23 million.
injury guarantee. That's it? Only 23 mil.
Yeah. All right. And here's your hazmat suit and
styrofoam house. You're locked in. But he's so good. They have to
play them? No, he's terrible. No, but they must be in a play. No. I would
injure myself in practice then. Oh, I think they're very much
ready to buy week. He, yeah, they may. You can be our put on the eye black
Russ Wilson emergency third string quarterback. I wonder what the stipulations would be
though. We've seen it before.
Wasn't it in Vegas where they told David,
they told Carr or Derrick Carr,
do not come to the stadium.
Yeah, that's the same thing.
We do not need you tripping on a stairwell.
That's what I mean.
And cracking a ankle bone.
Wasn't that the whole thing with Russ,
with the Broncos?
They just,
is that the one I'm thinking of?
Yeah.
It's happened before.
Yeah.
It has happened before.
I wasn't sure which incident,
but both of those.
Yeah.
Do not come to the stadium.
What?
I was,
I just played four days ago.
Come on.
Let's ride.
Let's ride.
No, no, we're not riding.
Get the hell out of here.
Stay at home.
Stay at home with your 14 washrooms and your 12 touchdowns.
I want to tell you about the Maud Medical Clinic.
Let's do it.
What is it with men?
Dumb idiots.
Why are we so dumb?
Pretty dumb.
Oh, can't talk about anything.
We'll talk about all kinds of other stuff.
Pandas and.
Hey, check this picture out.
I was stuck in the forest.
Yeah, well, I don't want to see that.
What are you talking?
But if it comes to something where me, all your health, oh, my liver, my, oh, my back, all this, I went to the chiropractor. I went to it. But if it's something like, you know, maybe the performance in the bedroom or your sexual health or that sort of thing, we clam right up. Let's remove the taboo about sexual health. It begins right here, right here. Let's speak openly about it because knowledge is power. As men age, the body.
It does different things.
Some things get better.
Some things don't get better.
I was talking to somebody the other day.
He says, I heard you guys talking about the Maud Medical Clinic and the B.
Arouse.
I'm up three, four times a night going to the bathroom.
It's too much.
And he's not that.
He's our age.
Very normal.
I'm getting not that old.
I mean,
or maybe we're old.
But as you think about these things.
You're not resigned to that.
You can change this, Dean?
Why?
I should, I should probably, yeah, that's one of the things about it is you don't
need to be if it's not the way it's supposed to be. I think we just accept some things. Well,
I'm getting older, so I guess I'm going to the bathroom five times a night. No, not the case.
Oh, you know what? Me and the, me and my lovely wife, we were, well, just things didn't go great.
And I guess that's the way it doesn't have to be that one. It doesn't have to be that way.
Get some help. The focus is providing drug-free treatments to bring spontaneity back to the
bedroom. There's Pairnese disease. If there's, you know, I wasn't injured. Well,
There could be fibrous scar tissues deep inside, the skin of the pain.
We don't know when we, maybe you've injured yourself.
You don't even know.
Football to the grind.
America's funny.
When you're a kid, stuff happens to you, you have no idea.
Optimize your sexual function.
It's not about blue pills.
It's about a healthy alternative.
Medical therapies to optimize your life in the bedroom and in the bathroom.
Non-medication approach with via sure.
Muscle function reforms blood vessels in the penis.
No pain, no downtime, covered under extended health benefits.
Love that.
Why wouldn't you?
And I'm just thinking that the significant other in your life,
even if you're going to these measures,
they really care about me.
And you're not rocking the bed four times a night,
going out to have another bathroom break?
Come on.
Amazing.
You don't want to be rocking the bed.
And maybe get rocking the bed again.
Both.
Let's be real.
Book a consultation.
Find out more.
Get in the no.
Have the conversations that we all should be having
because knowledge is power.
be aroused.ca.
I might go, I might go have a chat.
Go say hi.
Pelvic floor.
Fix it.
So what do you got?
You got sore hips and your lower back and all this.
Checking some boxes there.
Yeah.
Well, let's get her figured out.
Let's get her figured out.
I'm not afraid to talk about it.
Good boy, Dean.
Let's talk about it.
It's a movement.
You know what I hate?
Taboos.
Not a big tabooer?
I'm ready to remove the taboo about sexual health.
Jack, you with me?
where are you on taboos?
Same as you, Dean.
Taboos stink.
Get a lot of booze that Friday at that place
you get kicked out.
Taboos, I don't know.
Taboos.
Don't need it.
Bet 365.
Oh, we got some good ones.
Do you?
It's the world's largest betting platform.
Open an account if you haven't already today.
We keep telling you about it.
The app is awesome.
Bet 365 today.
You can get in there, huge range of markets.
Download the app.
Use that promo code, Nation,
when you sign up, be a little love for you.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet, 365,
five NHL games today.
Yeah.
You can start looking ahead.
We already looked ahead at the,
because today's Wednesday,
tomorrow's Thursday, there's a football game,
and then even looking ahead to the weekend,
you can start getting in on the Sunday games.
You want to look even further ahead.
We had noodles on.
What do we start talking about?
The Four Nations Cup.
No, we did.
Oh, Calder Trove.
Oh, I see.
There, you want to go down the road.
20 to 1, Dustin Wolf.
How much you guys budget for a coffee?
If you're going to go get a coffee,
you're going to place.
It's like $3.4 range.
Sure.
And maybe if you don't want something fancy,
oh, I like it with this and that.
Five bucks, sure.
Seven, eight bucks.
Why don't we do this instead of a coffee tomorrow?
Dustin Wolf to win the Calder.
Let's turn that into 105, baby.
Oh, baby.
I don't mind that.
I don't mind that at all.
It should probably be,
in my mind, like six to one to ten to one,
not 20 to one.
That's just too big of a number.
I think part of it is
how many other markets are talking about the flames
and Dustin Mulf?
Almost none.
How many people have been talking about Matt Vaymishkov since the moment he was drafted in Nashville two summers ago?
Almost everyone.
When people get around to voting for this, they're actually going to look at the data and say, holy shit, this rookie goaltender has had an incredible start to the year.
That's going to start happening soon.
These odds are going to get shorter.
Let's go.
Yeah, so there you go.
That's among other things.
Futures bets, prop bets.
Got two for tonight.
You put her in?
I like Toronto to bounce back against Washington.
They're plus 120.
weird to see Toronto
as dogs against the caps. They've been that good.
And how about Kail McCar for two points plus 145?
He's been a machine. A little injury scare. He's back.
And yeah, I mean, two points for
McKinnon looked at it. Minus 150. You can basically put him down for two
a night is what the books are saying. I wonder why it's such a discrepancy between
Well, that's what I'm thinking. I'll take my car plus 145.
Those are my bets today. Are you on the app?
I'm on the app. What are you seeing?
There's a fight this weekend.
Oh, dear.
Is it a real fight or one of those faux fights?
Fights, but it might be fun.
They always get you by the end, hey?
It's this months and months, years and years.
They finally have it and you're like, yeah, maybe I'll just check it out.
A 60-year-old man against the 20-year-old.
Are we going to be surprised?
It's because we all want the 60-year-old.
We really want it so badly.
It's a really whoop the 20-year-old.
Although he's not at probably 30s.
late 20s?
Who cares?
He's a YouTuber.
He is.
Can't be in his 30s.
Too old for that shit.
Well, they've been doing it forever, though.
That's true.
Bet 365.
Open an account.
Be like us.
Look at the fun we're having here.
Look at the convoes.
You get out of it.
27.
Jake Paul.
There you go.
Download the app.
Use the promo code nation
when you sign up.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary
at bet three, six, five.
Mike Tyson's 58.
I take that back.
You should have a little go.
I think Dina be a good boxer.
Strong arms, powerful punch.
Quick feet.
No.
There's nothing about me that.
I would have to try, tire you load.
You could outrun a hippo, you said.
At McMahon Stadium, not on his home turf.
Tight turns, Rhett.
Well, that's in the ring.
Tight.
I don't want to fight a hippo in a boxing ring.
How would you do with your shoulders?
You're a lot awkward.
Two-man tag?
I'll be jack and I'll take.
No, I don't want Rhett anywhere in a lot.
this is the ref or anything.
I just,
it feels like chicanery.
Someone's going to have a crowbar under the map.
I don't don't trust this at all.
When it comes to Pinder and winning,
or like being right,
winning,
whenever there's competition involved.
I'll just pretend it's Oilers Nation on a pondocker.
You saw what happened to Jack when he tried to out drink them.
Like,
but comatose for three days.
We saw what to have Oilers Nation.
Pinders single-handedly beat all those guys.
I bluddyed your M-Chack the first year.
That's right.
A tie game.
Wasn't going to let that stand.
And we beat him back.
I want no part of Pinder.
I don't know what the scenario would be.
But if victory is at hand for Pind, I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't.
Grinding.
He will, he's relentless.
He went down again, but he's getting back up.
He's getting back up.
Oh, my.
I'll say this, though, with that fight.
How about Mike Tyson?
What is he?
58.
58.
Look at the shape he is in.
It was not that, remember, he was kind of a heavy, out of shape guy.
if what we're seeing is real, and I think it is,
it can't all be AI.
He has gotten himself into unbelievable shape,
and I don't know how it translates,
but you watch those videos,
he's still frightening as hell.
I feel like if he hit me at real hard.
If he hit you, you'd have a bad rest of your day.
Day, for sure.
Weak. Pissing blood for a while.
But yeah, everybody wants him to win.
Can he please win?
Are there odds for that on there?
Yeah, there are.
I bet you Paul's having.
be favorites.
Yes.
Minus 200.
Boxing.
I mean,
that's if we're throwing
$5.
Around a bunch of
high rollers around here,
it's got to be worth
$5.
It's got to be worth $5.000 to at least.
Yeah.
Minus $2.30 plus $180.
Paul,
considerable favorite.
Yeah.
How much do you want to prove?
Boy, five bucks feels.
Double coffee?
What if you about a round of coffee?
I wonder if you think the line might
move between now on the weekend?
Sure well.
What if Jake Paul goes and gets all hammed at the trop or something?
Oh, yeah.
He goes, it's a little wobbly at the trough like Jackie boy.
I have to ask you to leave.
Swing back the other way.
You won't get Mike Tyson a plus 180 then.
That's right.
Let's take a look.
I know we had a super chat from earlier in the program and there's been some comments coming in before we say.
Look, there's old Drew Kerry.
How about you?
Looking good.
A 279.
Niner.
Niner.
Niner.
Retro.
Manta around to help off ice or he go.
because of course,
Matha is injured.
Done for the year.
Didn't he have surgery?
Well,
I think it's probably
going to be done as he started.
Is he doing it here?
Yeah,
I don't know.
He will be working in concert.
Of course,
he'll have to be around
because they're paying him
and they'll make him be around.
It would suck.
It's the daddy dime's treatment.
If I was Manta,
I would because he ain't coming back here next year.
Probably not,
no.
Probably not.
It feels like he's actually probably
Is there any need for me?
It's a really.
Now, if he was smart, he would have made a stink because you're always entitled to a second opinion.
And I would have said, yeah, I'm going to get the surgery done in Florida,
Costa Rica.
Panama.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
It is interesting.
I'm not sure.
Yeah, there would be some, I think, still because he's being paid, there'd be some expectation.
He's obligated to be here unless they give him permission to me.
Yeah.
There you go.
I don't know, and I don't know that he'd be helping off ice.
Is he going to help Depot with water bottles and towels?
I think it would, honestly, if I feel bad for him, because you're new to a team,
you're new to a city, you've got a one-year deal, you're shipped around as far as your career,
and now you're injured and you're, that's a tough break.
That's, it's no good for anybody.
I sort of wonder, is he PTO guy next year now?
Is it one year at one?
Like, it's, there's been enough health issues and inconsistent play.
you're like, this was supposed to be the year that worked for the flames and for him.
Opportunity for him.
Flames can turn him into a pick.
What was like three?
Three and a half?
Three and a half.
Three and a half.
So we came here, played 13 games, got injured.
Now he's just got to lay around and earn the three million.
I found this great Jenner.
You've got to come find the great booty.
He ain't young. No.
He's done.
Sounds terrible.
I'd be just skipping the dishes to beat the band.
Yeah.
Those bucks.
You know what I mean?
on those delivery no free place power binging so do you want to drive her to stop at another place
and get some stuff you're damn right yeah i actually do talk to me you want to go buy walmart yeah i need
some jubies what kind of is you got i need some jubies and some uh some root beer you just
stop at the weed store on the way let's come up some of me let's go eat some of those jubes
as well and i'm out of tp can you go buy the grocery store on that single play no no the good
stuff get some of the good stuff i'm sure that's what that's
Matthew Mathis, too.
100%.
Yeah, nailed it.
So don't feel too bad.
Was there another, I know that I saw our buddy deeper was in the,
was in the chat there as well.
He's getting worried about Rhett's attitude.
Jack, are we going to have Red on the squad of Jasper's go,
the Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament?
I was doing some yard work yesterday, Dean, some yard work.
Yeah.
And I moved a, they moved a net out near the lake.
How'd that feel?
I suffered vitally for the rest of the evening.
Shoulders.
I know we've brought up, maybe not on the show,
but about doing the F I'm old segment again.
And I guess I'll just burn one here.
The whole show is just that.
You talk about hurting.
I was away on the weekend in Sherwood Park for a
springette tournament.
Cultural cap.
And just kind of how it,
as I'm driving,
it's a left hand in the wheel and just kind of whatever.
Shoulder kind of sore from the reach.
No, no, no, no, no.
Jeez.
You got to drive with the other hand.
Oh, boy.
But this, oh, man.
Yeah, left shoulder sore from driving.
F I'm.
Yeah.
If you'd like to sponsor, if I'm old, you're out of luck.
Because we don't know how.
There's nobody to talk.
We don't do, uh, anything here.
Nope.
Can't buy us.
So the bandit run that's off the bucket list then, I'm guessing.
Driving now is.
Well, I think we'll drop.
You got to get the, the, the, uh, either elevate the seat or drop the steering call.
It's the 10 and 2.
Dean 10 and 2. Let's go.
The telescopic steering column so it can come a little closer to me so I can kind of get in there.
Let's think about a sports car.
It'll be, it'll be in there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yep.
So that's what's going on in my life.
So you've got to look forward to.
Yep.
I'm excited about stewing beef and my shoulder hurts from driving a vehicle.
If you need life coaching, call Dean.
Remove the stigma.
Let's just talk about health.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
this thing.
Tomorrow is, what are we doing?
Thirst.
Did we decide what we're doing for tomorrow?
I have a game day.
Ask out.
Let's see what we're doing for tomorrow.
It's Thursday.
What do we have options?
We have an ask out for a guest.
No word yet.
Guests.
Frank is in Toronto for GM meetings or something.
Frank's busy.
That sounds boring.
So he couldn't, I know.
And it is.
God, to stand around to suit all bloody days,
just waiting for him to come out and give you 10 minutes.
I was like,
We talked about the video review.
Nothing other than we met.
We talked about stuff and nothing's changing, but thank you.
There was some thought about making the ice, like curling ice with pebbles on it.
We'll try it in the A first and see.
No immediate changes.
We're going to put live bear bears on the ice during a penalty kill.
We'll see how that goes.
I feel like there's some animal rights groups that are going to have some issues with it.
But we'll try it in the A and see how it goes.
And we're actually going to fill the water bottles of vodka and the penalty box.
That could make things interesting down the stretch.
That one shot.
Minimum.
The water bottles they've been doing in the A for quite a while now.
That's not new there.
That's more than a pilot there.
We might grandfather that in.
So yeah, that's tomorrow's, uh, tomorrow's show.
So I guess if we can't have Conroy if he's at the GM meetings.
I was thinking we could go to the team talking, hey, come on.
We're going to get Conroy.
Huska, come on.
I don't know.
I guess he's running practice.
Yeah, he'll be earning.
I told you.
Got that button there.
Yeah, you might as well.
You figure, Jack?
Figure.
You miss anything?
We did 365.
No.
We talked about...
Oh, Rhett's your top five.
Oh, yeah, Reds top five.
For Wednesday, November 13th.
Well, I called me my top five ingredients and stew.
Gray cup meals.
Oh, yeah.
I like this.
You have to have nachos and you have to have wings.
Non-negotiable.
Football sporting event.
So was that...
Five and four or are you just five and four?
Yeah.
Notches and winks.
The shoveler spoiled me last night and I'm saying it because it's fresh in my mind.
Borsan.
Oh, the puck.
Yes.
Can you describe for people that don't know what Borsan.
It's a brick of a semi soft cheese that you put on some crackers or just spoon into your yap.
It's a puck.
It's a little bit of puck.
It's the shape.
It's what it is.
True.
Yeah.
I'm going to go, gray cup for.
See if I need a bigger list.
Rett's top eight brought to you by.
We'll combine the nachos and wings.
So I give me one more.
I want ribs.
Yeah.
I like ribs.
I like a rib.
I like a barbecue or a Greek rib during the game.
I was going to say,
are we doing like little little ribs?
Are we doing full rack of ribs?
It doesn't matter.
It's a pork rib.
Pork ribs.
Baby backs, the little bite size.
There's not enough.
When I was growing up,
we used to go to Thomas Cook restaurant in Saskatoon.
It'll have dry ribs and season.
a salad and it was amazing.
That is a good combo. We've got to combine
these things again. And number one?
Well, no, we took nachos and wings
and that together is one.
Bours and cheese. That goes to four. Number four.
Ribs three. Three. Okay, sorry.
Number two and number one. Chilly?
Wait, I'm going to go, I'm going to flip that.
Stew, chili. And only
because we're talking about stew. Right. That's good.
Both winters.
There you have it.
That's a nice day. That's tough six.
A chili with beef.
Melted cheese.
I might go with a different kind of stew, like you said.
You can put anything in.
You can do it.
There's no rules.
It's mama's is so good from what I grew up with.
I have a hard time going away from it.
But I'm doing it this weekend.
I'm doing it.
I'm doing something.
Ditching out.
Because I think when you think about chili as well, it's ground beef,
brown hamburger meat or ground beef and you put it in there.
Broaden your horizons, people.
Risk it.
Oh.
Pulled pork.
Beef.
It is pulled pork
season too.
I won't lie to you.
I don't know if I got any of that in deep freeze,
but man.
Oh,
rifle around in there.
Maybe I'll find some.
It really is one of the sweetest deals out there
because it's not that expensive.
And you get a lot of it.
And it is delicious.
Doug doesn't like it.
What?
The D-U-G.
Shut off as Mike.
Pulled pork.
He's a weak, man.
Wow.
It's a tough note.
to have the show on.
Yeah,
I hate to leave you something like that.
One of the best pulled pork I've ever had was at your place.
Great Cup or Super Bowl.
Super Bowl wasn't great. That's right.
Rams.
Bengals.
Shend the bills.
Wrangles.
So good.
That was a good Super Bowl.
Yep.
Let's push it.
My mom made steak and kidney stew.
People hate kidneys.
Been a stew.
I don't know about the key.
I don't know.
It's scary.
If you didn't tell us there's kidneys, you'd probably love it.
Yeah, you got to get, you just got to keep your mouth shut.
It's not kidding.
Definitely not kidneys.
Wow, this is great one of those.
What's in the stew?
What are they saying?
Kidneys or kidney beans?
Because there's kidney beans in chili, but like a kidney,
I feel like some of those European companies that,
your companies,
countries,
they get a little silly with their stew.
What are we putting in there?
Here, on one hand,
I'm telling you,
the Hungarian goulash.
It's like easy.
We don't need to be putting lots of,
it's like that stuprika.
Like that haggis and stuff.
It's like,
don't be,
Do we don't, what are you cool because you're doing this?
Am I impressed?
You're not sure enough.
Well, time for me to eat.
What are you going to eat?
I don't know.
Yes.
It's got to get that list ready.
Top six for your Super Bowl Sunday.
Slash Great Cup.
Just thinking about what I got to do today.
That's where I'm out in my life when I have errands to run.
So where am I going and what is, what eating establishment?
Got a Justin Kirkland coming or what?
In that area.
Because I was thinking I've got some chip.
stone chips in my windshield.
Maybe I'll go find a place, one of those little,
then if I walk somewhere, where am I going to?
It's too badger.
Go and eat for a, uh, get my stone chips fixed.
You should have pushed the button a long time ago.
Really?
I feel this is the best list shit we do.
Hey, Jack?
This is real.
Jack is dying.
This is authentic stuff.
This is, this is authentic.
What about not?
Are we like, so if you're, are you doing all this?
All right.
Are you doing all this on?
So borsan cheese, ribs, stew, chili,
nachos and wings?
You're telling me in a six hour window,
you can't consume some of those things?
Because I'm just,
with the nachos then,
if you're having all this other pork ribs and beef and chip,
are you just doing cheese and jalapinos and whatever on there?
Yeah, I'm doing a veggie notch.
Okay, yeah.
Just cheese and jalap.
Are you having the Great Cup party your place, right?
That's nice, yeah, I don't know.
So you're just making all this food for yourself?
no i'm having a great cup party but you're none of you people would dare yeah he's
having people over for sure but it's not our type of people i was the calves game for the
two of you oh apparently i was out of town he was gone so you i asked if you want to come you said
you're busy with kids i was the last invite to that game for sure you were as shown by the
quick departure and thanks for coming out all the buddies good to see yeah i see a tuesday come
all of his besties.
So the game ends and then Ryan says,
okay, I got to get down in the field. See ya.
And he just left and I didn't hear from him again.
I was like, oh, okay.
I heard from him again.
He found a nice little watering hole.
I'll see you later.
See you, buddies.
