Happy holidays.
Hi, hi, hello, hello, hello.
This Barnburner, on a non-game day, a practice day for the cavalry flames,
there's Rhett and Buffalo at the rink, retro.
I'm here in our Mardaloup Studios, and our boy, Boomcat is at the doctor, I believe.
Good morning, everyone.
Sneffles for Christmas, maybe.
I hope not.
People are getting sick around here.
I know it's usually everywhere this time of here, but I just,
I don't need this right now.
It is.
Christmas party, Christmas, party, Christmas party, Christmas, party, Christmas party, Christmas, party, Christmas, party, Christmas, party, Christmas, party, Christmas.
It's heavy.
So if you're not sick yet, it's coming.
Okay, you're a pseudoscience guru.
What should I be hammering?
Vitamin C.
D.
D is the sunlight one, right?
Yeah, and he's a lot of the immune system weakens.
So we need some more D.
C is good to hold off the colds.
Cursitin.
Huh?
Q-U-E-R.
C-E-T-I-N, Curseton.
Get some of that in you.
Get the nebulizer so that when you go out, it's fine.
You get home, you throw that baby on it.
So is that just helping you clear your airwaves?
Is that what the nebulizer does?
Or what are we doing there?
Yeah, it's, yeah.
Welcome to Dr. Rett's sit-down.
This is a weekly show that we do here on Flames Nation.
Welcome to the show.
Flames did not practice yesterday.
off day.
Lazy, bastards.
No, I think they were, it was that one.
Geez.
First came back, beat the lightning.
Chuck now in three against the flames.
Suck it.
Big mouth.
Yeah, take that, eh?
People online are enjoying that Sharon Govich has more goals than Godreau and could Chuck combined.
I would not hold my breath at the last.
No.
And I don't know.
Like, we kind of gotten a bit of a spat about it yesterday, but this is the
exact spot we didn't want for Craig Conroy,
if we're being honest.
It's one,
you're,
yes,
100%.
They've done just slightly too good.
Yes.
Like knock four more.
Those leads against Florida teams.
Four more points off the total and you're going,
you're comfortable still.
You're going,
yeah,
this is we have too much ground.
We,
we've played hard against good teams.
We've had success against good teams.
Why can't we?
beat the good teams. Let's go for it. Yeah. And I think they were fifth or sixth in the inverse
standings before that two game Florida homestand. Now it's like picking 10th. We can't be picking 10th,
you're not getting a franchise center at 10. Come on now. You got a top five. Let's go. And now it's
like, well, what about Hanavit? He looked great the other night. And he did. Maybe you do pay him seven.
I'm like, I love a Noah Hannafin for the next eight years. I don't have a problem with that.
I just think I'd love the first and two seconds
or whatever the package looks like more
to mesh in with the Zeri, Coronado,
Pelche, Hanzek, Porriere,
just dancing here.
What, okay, well, let's play it out.
So what's the cutoff?
If you're trading.
Well, so there's two cutoffs, right?
There's the, what salary can you live with cutoff?
And then there's also the,
what return makes it, we can't do it,
we've got to take this return, right?
What was the contract where?
that we heard rumbling.
We heard 60, which divided by eight would be seven and a half.
Okay.
Let's call it that.
Let's just, that's fine.
So seven and a half.
It seems heavy, but we're going to do an eight years, seven and a half.
Okay, so you are okay with that.
I sort of had the Dave's contract at seven and a quarter as my cutoff.
But actually, the more I watch Hanifin, the more it's like, you look at his age.
This isn't like.
He's not going to be an issue.
He's going to be fine.
He's super horrible and skates well.
Caps going up.
What's Weger getting right now?
Almost seven.
What?
Six and a half?
Yeah.
So.
Tons better than Weiger, but he's also.
No, they're different players.
Yeah.
They're signing a couple years later.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Younger.
Yeah.
And we know what Hatton Finn is.
He's jumped into the league at what, 1819?
This is a guy that, uh, right out of college, you saw it.
He can play.
Let's not discounted either.
Even with Tannav out.
those three defensemen carry that's that's your decor yes
tent have was hurt so and he's going to get old and he's going to be gone
so you're still going to have to have a decor and you're going to have to build a decor
you're going to have to have guys that can play so yeah so you can go out and spend
way too much for a three four defenseman we've seen that you know Vancouver did that with
cars and susy who has hardly even played for them if he has at all this year and he's big
and physical. He's a four. They're going to spend a lot of money on.
In a way, if you thought that Jason, good money with bad or I don't know what the comment
I would use, but nurse is making nine plus. There's a commencement in Chicago making nine plus.
I would take Han, Finn at seven and a half over either. Absolutely.
Yeah, sorry. Brett's just low and I'm high. So I don't need more. Sorry, Jacko.
there we are.
Yeah, I'm loud in my own head.
So I guess the problem with that is to say, well, I mean,
Heurton makes 10 and a half.
So now anyone at 9 all of a sudden is a good deal.
Like you don't use the bad contract.
No, you don't.
I'm just, but you're right.
You can live with it.
Yes.
I don't think it's, it's not outrageous the way he's playing.
No.
Seven and a half.
It's not.
Would you like it at 6 and a half?
Yes.
You pumped.
he's not having a year to get out.
Yeah.
Right?
Like that,
then you should sign him.
And so then the flip is,
okay,
if you can live with seven and a half,
now what's more valuable to your team
for the next eight years?
Exactly.
Noah Hanofin at seven and a half
or what you could get in trade.
And that's where it gets sticky because,
let's say you trade them to like,
where's a team that needs a D man?
Like let's say it's Buffalo.
They're kind of out of it.
It might not make sense.
But maybe it does because it's an eight year deal.
It comes with an extension.
Maybe it's Arizona,
who they see themselves as legit.
legitimate, they're in a wild card.
Your pick. Regardless of who, what is the return you would need to eliminate
Hanifin from your lineup, even if you know you're going to, if you're convinced you're
going to play them seven and a half and you're okay with it.
I think it's probably, I've been going to this for over a year.
It's a first and two seconds or something along that line.
And that might sound really expensive, but it's not.
It's what the flames gave up to get Travis Hammondick off the island.
it's what
Hamas Lindholm got from
Boston when he went Anahunt to Boston
So then you start going where are those picks
Like if it's 27
That's why I almost like the idea of sending him to like
Arizona or who else did we mention
Like it's a middle pack pick
They got lots of picks to Arizona's like yeah sure
It takes a couple seconds in the first
And they want to be competitive because they're either
A, you're going to have to relocate or B
get enough interest to get a new rink push through
in both those instances, a good team helps.
Yeah.
So, and we've seen it.
They've kind of turned the corner.
The argument for Hanifin's saying, even though he's such a valuable asset to move,
there is a legitimate argument for keeping that guy.
Like, he opens a huge hole if he's gone, right?
That's the thing.
Mass.
And you're eventually going to have to fill it now.
And it's different than the TANF conversation because he opens a hole too, but Jesus, like,
how many games are you going to play the next three years?
How much is he going to be hurt?
When does his play fall off a clue?
Cliff because, I mean, he's much older than you were when all of a sudden the league
wasn't free. He's on the cusp of being retired, this guy.
Right. He's playing great. It's not a knock, but he's a hit away. Like, he's been through
the washer. He's, he's too close to being done.
How many times have we seen Tanna have go down the tunnel this year?
Every hit where he gets hit and lands on the ice, it's a walk down the tunnel and you're like,
I don't know if he's coming back. I would love to have the, you know, when, of course, it's like in
Toronto and the playoffs, they've always got like the dubus cam or then just eyes.
I would like to see Craig Conroy's face every time Chris Tanna,
Tate blocks a shot 10 times in his return to the lineup the other night.
Or on top of that just goes down the tunnel.
Like it's have I lost two second rounders?
Did I just lose a first?
Whatever you think the return is for TANF.
I mean, it's,
it's a little bit nerve-wracking.
And I guess that's how we'd frame some of the trade talks.
You can go fill the Tenev hole.
I don't think you can fill the
Hanifin hole. He's a 25 minute
a night guy if you need it. Yeah,
and he's done it for a decade. Let's get

We have a noodles.
We have a noodles.
Sir, how are we?
Not too bad.
How are you guys doing today?
Not as good as you.
We heard you were just hooting and hollering at the sphere watching you too.
I mean, we need an update.
This is, this is, you hadn't even been to St. Louis yet for the, the, the, the, the, the, the sense fired their guy.
You've been in Vegas on the strip.
Like, get us up to speed.
You're still swollen.
My face is slow.
You know what it is?
I, okay, so in the last, whatever, six, seven days, I've been in Ottawa, uh, St. Louis, Dallas, Vegas.
Now I'm in Phoenix and I go to Denver.
And it's caught up with me.
like my voice and my, I'm sick, but it is what it is.
It's, you know, you're got sweaty people on the plane, coughing in your face,
and you got, you know, you're at a roulette table in Vegas.
It's self-inflicted, put it that way.
People kiss the dice when you're, that's, that's not, gross.
What is the deal?
How do, and you're one of them now, color and commentators and play-by-play guys,
like they do, they are exposed.
to illnesses, yet they all seem to battle through.
Like very, very rarely do you see someone in that line of work miss a game?
Or am I crazy?
Does it happen more than I think?
We do miss games, but what happens is they'll parachute somebody in, so you won't even know.
So it's like, you know, for example, if I was sick, I've had COVID, I think three times.
Like I had COVID one time where I had to miss a game.
So they parachuted, I think Dave pooling it.
So it was, they didn't even see.
say, hey, Jamie's at home. It was just like, hey, Dave Pullen and Gordon Miller calling the game
tonight. So I've had to cover, I was on call the other day. Mike Johnson was really under the
weather. It was the Leaf Ottawa game, and he grinded through. I had a night in Columbus,
and it was awful. I got some sort of, I was in Vancouver two days earlier and behaving myself,
not booze and nothing.
And I got to Columbus and I thought it was like food poisoning because I was like violently ill.
Throwing like it was I was I was in the fetal position in the shower.
And it was just it was not good.
And my voice the next day, you're fine if you can grind through physically,
but my voice was cracking to the point where you go to say something and it was just all over the map.
And there was nothing it could do.
I was drinking, you know, honey.
I had all these, you know, concoctions.
And I just battled through the broadcast to the point where I didn't say much.
I just let John Abbott was working that night.
And I let Johnny kind of handle everything.
And I just kind of popped in and out comment here and there.
And we just said on the broadcast.
You know, noodles is under the weather.
He's grinding.
You know, apologies, but we're going to go through this.
I'm hoping that tomorrow I should be fine in Denver.
I'm more concerned about the Sends on the ice because that's, you know, they, they blew one last
night, the third period where, you know, they were in pretty good shape.
It looked like a goaltender was going to be unbelievable.
And, you know, they handed that back.
And then you watch Colorado lose to Chicago and Devon Taze calls out his team.
So you have to wonder how pissed off Colorado is going to be tomorrow.
So I look at this five-game losing streak for Ottawa.
game one, they get Carolina coming off that Vancouver game where they had a closed door meeting and the coach called them out because they had lost four in a row.
So they were fired up.
The second game was the new coach bump in St. Louis where the team ends up, you know, taking them the task.
The next night was back to back in Dallas.
And Dallas is a really good team.
And they even lose their starting goaltender, a couple goals in.
And Wedgwood comes in and throws a gem and they can't battle back in that.
Then you go into Vegas.
They lose.
Aden Hill gets hurt early in the game.
And Logan Thompson comes in, and Vegas just woodsheds them in the second period.
It was awful.
And then last night, you know, they start well, three nothing.
Connor Ingram gets pulled.
And then Arizona just chips away.
And then Arizona scores three in the third period.
And the game winning goal, I don't know if you saw the replay,
having it kicked it into the net, the wide open net on the back door.
So it was just like, whatever can happen back.
is happening and they're going to be in one tomorrow night in in colorado.
Okay.
So we'll get to your gallivanting adventures and you pretending you didn't have the Roxy
flu, those stories in a moment.
But we're on to Ottawa, so let's stay there.
They do fire the coach.
And it's now twice that we've seen Michael Andler, Mike Andlerler come in, hire a guy and
just say, no, no, no, it's just support staff.
We're building a really good group of minds.
And then the guy you know they're going to replace is replaced.
It happens with Staeos as they get rid of door.
on. Maybe it was that punishment from the league was the catalyst, but that felt like that was
a natural. And then they bring in Jacques Martin a few weeks ago. And we're all like, yeah, this is
obviously going to be the guy once they, at least as an interim, when they get rid of DJ Smith,
who's accomplished very little in five years, except having a young and exciting roster. I mean,
is this the way they're going to do business? Do you like that? Or is it like, hey, it's never
pretty when you're firing people? I think it's never pretty when you're firing people. And if you look at,
you know, the chance, what had been trending online in Ottawa for the last like, you know,
month, fire DJ, all of that.
And last night, you know, you get the new coach bump, but then it, they revert back to the old,
you know, being a fragile, non-confident team when the chips are down.
So I woke up this morning thinking, okay, you've had the coaching change, but it's evident,
you know, yes, can the coach be different?
can you have different tactical approaches.
But if your top players don't play like top players,
we've seen it.
We've seen it in Epitin.
We've seen it in Calgary.
We've seen it right through the National High League, New Jersey, you name it.
Some of the teams that have struggled, Carolina,
if their top players don't drag you through it, it's not going to happen.
So I don't know if Landlauer is going to continue with that type of pathway.
The one thing that stuck out for me or stuck out for me when he took over.
and him and Steve Stales continued to say it is we want best in class.
So I think the one thing they're going to do is they've done a,
they could continue a forensic audit of their organization.
Yeah.
And they're going to continue to add resources because that was a very lean organization as far
as scouting staff, coaching staff, support staff, you name it.
Like I, you know, if the leaves are on one end of the spectrum,
I remember going through their front office roster and basically,
basically everyone who works for the Leafs. I counted about 150 people. With Ottawa, including
coaches and training staff, it was like 41. Yeah. So you've got a new owner that's come in,
going to spend money. He's going to add to the resources. And I would argue that if Dorian was
step one, DJ is step two, there's still about 10 steps here. Yeah. And it's going to be
adding beefing up the scouting staff, beeping up the PR staff, marketing staff. Like I think it's going
to be a full on.
And I keep coming back to the words best in class where Steyos and
Annalauer have in mind who they believe these people are to build out their
organization.
It wouldn't surprise me if Jay McKee is in the organization at some point.
I know he's attached to that group.
Retro?
You know, Jay's a.
I'm telling you.
Retro, you know, you know Jay.
He's a great human, a good coach, all of that.
Wouldn't surprise me if he's involved.
some point. John Grude's name gets thrown around because there's a history with Ottawa.
I don't know who will be the coach in the future. But I think you have Alfie there. You have
Jacques Martin. Those are guys that are coming in that are going to be behind the scenes, behind
the curtain to do full assessment as to, you know, what they need moving forward. And that
being said, Brady Kachuk said yesterday, you know, the coach is gone, the GM's gone. Like the
next is they're going to start to deal with the players if the players don't get their act together.
Is there an issue there?
Because it's looked upon from afar that they've stockpile,
the really strong, high-skilled, offensive group that should be really good,
and they've built it outright.
But here they sit.
At some point it's happening.
It's also happening here in Buffalo.
And Columbus.
Rave and Peters Rip on the Sabres organization on their podcast here for five minutes before the show started.
So it's not the only place.
But those are two teams where Ottawa are supposed to be an up-and-comer.
Is there pieces missing?
Is it a room thing?
Was it the coach?
I don't know.
I think it's a combination of everything.
I would come back to the word maturity.
Like I've seen some really immature.
I wouldn't say mistakes because they're trying,
but just identifying.
I don't know how many times Jacques Martin said to us yesterday,
game management, you know, understanding the situation.
You get a lot of high-skilled guys that go out and play.
they got one way to play.
It's just, hey, I've got an A game.
And if I play my A game and everything works, no problem.
If I don't get my A game, it's like, I think I look at this group.
And I look at a guy like, for example, Drake Batherson, really talented player.
He's got an A game, but he doesn't have a B or a C game.
He's got an F.
So these guys, they don't have the ability on a night where it's like, hey, I don't have the legs.
The mind isn't there.
You know, I'm going to grind this up.
Claude Giroux didn't have a great night last night, me watching him.
I don't know.
I have to go back and look at the stats or whatever, but I thought he was just a little bit sluggish in his decision-making.
But his game can go from an A to like a B or a C.
He knows how to play.
Loose puck battles, like win those, chip the puck out.
Just be smart.
Some of these younger players, they play one way.
And if it doesn't work, it's like, oh, my God, it didn't work.
You know, like they don't have the ability yet through maturity to.
to understand the situation going,
we're up to one on the road,
that puck's got to get out.
That shot's got to be blocked.
That, you know, this is a critical,
I can't take a lazy penalty.
Like it's,
and that's what starts a snowball.
It's like this play of like not managing
and not having the maturity
in certain areas of the game to go identify the situation.
This is a dangerous situation.
I'm going to do everything I,
can to get that puck out. It's like, I'd hit the glass and pop back and, you know, like,
it just, and I don't think it's from a lack of trying. It's just from there's a understanding
where there are pressure points in a game and they don't manage them well and then they end up losing.
They brought in a lot of vets. I don't, like, I feel like the more we look back at Pierre Dorian,
there were tough circumstances, but he just made a lot of bad bets. Like, Drew should be the leader
teaching them this. They brought in Chikrin, who's been in the league a long time. Talbot was the
veteran goalie they had and he was great before he got there.
Great after he's been there.
Not great there.
They moved out Gustafson, a good young goalie that Minnesota loves and thinks as a
one.
De Brinket came in on a bet where they got less for him back than they paid to get him a year
prior.
Hamannick, I think I mentioned.
Like, if you can have one player to fix this thing, what is it?
Is it another D?
Is it more about leadership?
Because like, the parts are good.
No?
Yeah, the parts are good.
The sum of the parts don't add up to the,
the team that you want.
I had a scout say to me the other night.
He goes, man, this team is talented.
God, they got a bunch of really good players,
but he goes, they don't play like a team.
I thought that was interesting because, you know,
sometimes you're being close to it, watching it,
you're around these guys, they're good guys,
you know, there's not egos in the room.
They're not, you know, jackasses.
They're good guys.
But I watch, and I forget sometimes.
I look at Jake Sanderson, who I think is a superstar,
but he's 21.
And it's just first really, you know, they've handed them the keys to the car.
He's the quarterback on the power play.
You know, Shabbat's out, which regardless of what do you think of Thomas Shabbat,
Thomas Shabbat plays 24 minutes a night in all situations.
So he would take some of that pressure off of Sanderson and Chikrin.
Chikran, when you start to dig in, you know, seven years in Arizona,
the score, he's got to, he's, this guy is a monster.
Like he is put together.
but he's not that physical force.
He's not a Robin Regere rat.
He's built like Robin, bigger, like thicker,
but he doesn't play like Robin.
He doesn't have bite.
He doesn't have, if anything, he's the other way.
He's very skilled.
He's smooth.
He's a good skater.
But he doesn't physically impose himself.
I don't know if there's one,
if there's a magic bullet.
It's like one thing that could change it.
I would say confidence.
Like I use the analogy with Edmonton.
I want to see what that team's like when their players are playing to their capabilities,
not above their capabilities, just capabilities.
And at the start of the year when they were awful, not one of them was playing to their capabilities.
Right now I look through that lineup.
I look at a kid like Tim Stutzler, who has points over a point in game, but he's not playing
to his capabilities.
Drake Batherson's not playing through his capability.
Jeru. Brady Kachuk right now, it seems like he's on tilt.
Like he wants to run people through the boards.
fought again last night.
Yeah, which it's great because he's an emotional leader.
Yeah.
But you can't, you can't like, you've got to organically drag people into the fight.
It can't be manufactured.
And, you know, I just, Brady is an unbelievable leader.
And he gets it because his dad, you know, his dad was a good leader.
his dad was a good teammate, all of that.
But it just, I think I come back to it,
there's got to be a level of maturity.
I don't know.
I saw this stat.
So I was talking with Mike Kelly
from the NHL network this morning.
And we always talk about goaltending stats and stuff.
And they're coming up with a new stat,
which should be interesting
because they're trying to translate it
to people sitting on their couch understanding this.
Because it's goals saved above expectation,
all of these things that people don't get fired up about
when they're just,
they gloss over, right?
So he had a stat, they've got stolen wins, but they've come up with a stat now where the
goaltender, if he played average, they would have won the game.
So it's the goaltender cost the game.
Ottawa has one stolen game and eight.
On the other way.
This is where I wanted to go.
Because we always talk about something I write.
It's not this.
It's not that.
I can't put my finger on it.
At the end of the day, isn't it eight times out of ten?
either your goalie's hot or he's not.
Like I feel like they've got shitty goaltending this year.
And you look at teams that are surprised the other way.
They've had really good goaltending.
And Florida was dog shit.
And then Bobrovsky had 950 for a month and they went to the finals.
Like, isn't it always just goalending?
I had a GM say to me, he goes, it shouldn't be called the NHL,
which should be called goalie.
Because if you got a good goalie, he masks so many things.
O'Dog always says on our show, he goes, how many times can a goalie save you from the video room?
where you throw a pizza up the middle and it's a breakway the other way.
And he makes a save and nobody talks about it.
But if you throw the pizza up and they score,
they're like, okay, what the hell are you doing on this play?
You know, it's stuff like that.
So Arizona is a prime example.
Coming into last night's game, they have back-to-back shutouts.
That's Femalka and Connor Ingram.
Ingram's got three shutouts this season.
You know, their team's playing better, but he's playing out of his mind.
He's a 26-year-old kid that's kind of coming into his own right now.
You're right.
Like you look at good goaltending.
If you have good goaltending, it does mask a lot of problems.
And if you have average to below, for example, the New York Islanders, they don't
score their issues.
They out-goldend their issues because they win two-one, three-one.
They beat Evanton 3-1 last night.
I was watching that game.
And just wore them down.
It's chipped away.
And the goalie made some big saves.
So what you need is a good goaltender and a good team that go hand in hand.
I think the Rangers are that.
Rangers, but think of it, guys.
Like, I was talking about hardened coaches.
Labby, Alette, Red, I don't know if you ever had him, but like,
no.
Labby's got that vein in the side of his head that he looks like he's going to stroke up
behind the bench because he gets so intense.
And I love it.
Like, I love the way that he's invested in the game.
So if I'm a player on the bench and I look back and this guy is, you know,
he's, he's right there with you.
there's that expectation when he walks in the room.
Like, you need to play a stiff game.
And I think the Rangers, you know, for all of their awards,
they've played a loose defensive game, he's tightened them up.
And then I look at other coaches that look like the substitute teacher
that are lost back there.
And you're like, it has to translate sometimes if you're a player looking back
and this guy's not pressing buttons, it's not doing anything.
He's pushing five guys out the door.
So there's something to be said with coaching,
but goal tending, you know, to your point, it's, it's, uh, you get good goaltet, you get good
goaltending, you get a raise and you go to the finals, you get bad goaltending, you get traded and
you have to move on.
It's the shift.
It's happened to pretty much, yeah.
That's how it goes.
Okay, so I've got Ottawa in the same box as Buffalo.
Rhett talked about it.
They're losing their minds of Buffalo.
This is 12 years.
Well, it's interesting that, what you just said, noodles, because a lot of it goes to the same sort
thing.
They're screaming, what, Granado, the chant is on.
here by a lot of fans.
I don't think his head, I don't think it's at that point for the management as far as Granado's
concerned, but it's coming quick.
The people are not impressed with how things.
You know what it is?
It's because in the interviews, it's the same answers.
It's the same.
We're learning.
We're young.
We're learning.
We're young.
We're learning.
We're young.
No.
Well, you know what it has, though, rat?
like for Ottawa for sure is last year Pierre Dorian said the rebuilds over, you know, playoffs
or busts.
Same thing.
This year, you know, you make some moves.
You sign Corpus Sallo.
You're thinking, okay, like this is a team that's up and coming.
They're going to challenge for a playoff spot.
So in everyone's mind, it's like they're through it.
They're through the growing pains.
These kids have now arrived as star players arrived.
And then you're looking.
go, oh, they're still kids.
Oh, they're, you know, and I've watched a bunch of Buffalo games.
Like, they've got a lot of self-inflicted wounds as well.
And I, you know, the kid, putting the kid down in the minors, Levi, and bringing him up.
Like, I like that move because I think he's young and he needs to grow up.
But you screwed up in the off season by not backing him up with someone.
That's the thing, right?
Kevin, what were you expecting from this kid coming out of college?
The problem is, and I don't know how you guys feel about this.
Because I could argue, because I talked to a goalie coach in the league the other day,
and they were talking about their situation moving forward.
And I said, well, if you're going to trade for somebody,
you better do it sooner than later.
Because if you lay things out, Toronto maybe needs a goalie,
depending on whether you believe in Samson.
Joseph Wall is going to be out six to eight weeks.
Martin Jones has come in and done a good job.
So there's some reprieve there.
But I don't know.
Do they believe that that goaltending can get it done?
L.A.
You just mentioned Cam Talbot, Phoenix Copley.
Those guys are on unrestricted free agent deal.
So they don't have a contract for next year.
Okay.
Carolina has Aaron Dell on a PTO right now.
It's like they're trying like hell to do something.
Buffalo needs a veteran goaltender.
Edmonton needs a gold tender.
Jersey needs that's six off the top of our head like that we're not even digging into.
And so I'm saying to all these scouts and managers.
and people I talked to, well, who's out there?
Okay, so maybe if Calgary decides Jacob Markstrom's available,
that you're getting, you're getting a King's ransom for him because these teams
line up.
Right?
The damn problem here, noodles, is they're playing too well.
They're the top part of schedule.
They're over 500 now.
And they deserve all the flowers they're getting because as much as people have lined up
to kick them in the junk, they've done a good job of having it fighting through some
adversity and getting down in games and sticking with it.
I don't know how long it lasts.
I don't know what the bigger picture is.
What are you doing with Linholm?
What are you doing with Hanofin?
What are you doing with Tanev?
Because that changes the structure of your team immediately if you move them out, right?
Also changes what Jacob Markham wants to.
It's what we were discussing before you came on or just as you came on.
They've played so well.
You're right.
We've kicked them in a junk plenty.
And they've deserved it.
Now they deserve some praise and some reds.
with some some reconsideration.
Right.
Is Hanif in an integral piece to that team now?
If you're paying him seven and a half, it sounds outrageous,
but he's playing huge minutes right now.
He's playing quite well.
And if you lose him, who's filling that hole?
I think you can lose Tannaf because he's on the back end.
And he's your fourth best defenseman.
He ain't going to chew up a bunch of minutes.
And he's a hit away from being retired.
Right.
I think Markstrom is a massive asset that you should trade.
I just think you should because you're going to end up with the Buffalo scenario.
But I just think my expectations that the return for Markstrom would be so good that you need to do it.
But do you keep Hannafin?
And what do you need to get in return for Hannafin that allows you to let him go?
Because if you get rid of him, you have, well, you have, you got two different.
defenseman for next year. They got two under contract. They got
Weger and Anderson and that's a nice top pair,
but you can't expect to go fill four
holes on a blue line and be anything
close to respect. And I think the way
they're playing, they can lose. I think
they could trade
Lindstrom and Markstrom
and get big returns and I
don't think they're going to fall back that
far. Well,
I guess my argument would be
you're right.
2D under contract for next
year. So in the trade,
if it's dollar in, dollar out, you're going to probably get a younger deback or somebody in the system that's ready.
So I don't know, do you look at organizations that have depth and a guy that's pushing through and go,
I want your top defenseman prospect because he's going to come play for us and push through.
Or is it a guy that has pushed through that's 21, 22, and a team's in win now mode.
So they're like, okay, we're going to have to give up the future for win now.
You know, Ken Holland came out the other day and said it as much.
He's like, we're in win now mode.
We're not building for the future here.
I don't know at Broberg.
I don't even know what the hell he is as a player, to be honest.
I've watched him, not overly physical.
I don't think he, I think he's a good skater and he's a good puck mover,
but I don't know what that translates to.
Is that a four?
Is that a five?
Is that a six on the back end?
But that's who you're dangling.
So other organizations might have the equivalent of the Brobergs and guys like that.
that you go, okay, I'm going to trade Hanam and Hannafin for a first and a top prospect, you know,
a Broberg type.
Or, again, I'm not, I'm using Broberg as an example.
But because all these top teams don't want to give up, you know, if it's the Toronto Maple Leafs,
they're not giving you Matthew Nyes for it.
You know, they're not giving you, you know, they're a guy who's in their lineup,
who they are going to rely on.
they're going to,
they're going to have to ship out some dead wood,
you know,
some contracts that are on LTIR or,
you know,
something like that.
So you have to be creative.
But there's a marketplace.
And it depends on how creative you want to be.
If you want to make Jake,
if you could make Jacob Marks from a $4 million goal tender
for the next two years and you decide I'm going to,
can you imagine what you'd get for him.
Should be all, wouldn't it?
Months and months.
A couple firsts.
I'm talking two first and I'm talking maybe a top prospect and two first to have to have a starting goaltender for three playoff runs.
At that dollar figure, yeah, because everyone's up against the cap.
I'm totally with you, noodles.
Yeah.
Right.
Finish that thought.
No, I was just going to say, but that's, you know, again, if you've got to make those moves and if you're Craig Conroy, you have to be bold.
Because what if this team is in that wildcard spot and you're feeling really good and that, you know, everything's kind of.
of settled and you're getting closer to trade deadline like i'm pulling the trigger because if i i'm
not i'm not losing a guy for free and that's why i think he needs to be bold right now and do it
sooner because i think he puts himself he backs it's better for your return but if your team it's not
going to be better optically in the community if your team is on the cusp of making the playoffs or
in that hunt and your way to the trade deadline and dump some guys and now don't make it oh oh oh
What are doing?
You can't do that to us.
Like, that hurts the fan base.
Whereas if you do it now, you still can sell it as we're improving,
but we have to make the right decisions.
We can't risk screwing this up.
But anyway, think of Montreal.
Like, Montreal's not going away.
And that team is literally in a rebuild, allowing these kids to grow.
They have a few pieces that they're probably going to move out.
I think Sean Monaghan is in play.
It sounds like a lot of teams are coveting him,
which is nice.
He's a good, he's a good story.
I like, I like money.
And, you know, he's, at one point, I thought he was done, like flat out done.
I didn't think he'd play another NHL game.
And, you know, he's, I don't know if there's surgeries or whatever.
He just looks rejuvenated in Montreal.
But Montreal is a team that we all thought was going to be somewhat of a bottom feeder.
And they're playing hard every night.
They're making it difficult because they got some young talent that are pushing through.
I don't know.
Like, I was asked the other day.
you know, if you're the
Abington Oilers, would you trade for the,
you know, one of the three top
goaltenders on this trade board?
Two of them, it was Jake Allen,
it was Caden Primo,
and Capo Caccanin.
I was like, no.
Like you're, that's just the lateral.
Alan, I like.
The others don't make sense to me.
You need someone that's got some experience
if you're going into Edmonton.
This is not collect a young guy and see if he pans out.
You need a veteran if you're Edmonton.
Exactly.
That's my point is it's you need somebody.
Maybe Jake Allen at 34,
who backed up Bennington on a cup run,
gives you a little bit of stability.
He's a good guy, good citizen, all of that.
But like I just,
I look at these teams that need goaltenders.
And that's why I keep coming back to Calgary
dealing from a position of strength
because he would be,
because Boston's not trading swayman right now.
And I said this like,
a trade, like a free agency on July 1st.
I remember sitting in the TSN studio.
We were talking about goalies.
and I said, I am perplexed.
Why a manager is not offer sheeting Jeremy Swayman?
Because that would have killed two birds with one stone.
You get a good young starting goaltender that even if he's a tandem guy, he's a 50 game guy, he's a good young goalie.
And secondly, that would have jammed up Boston where they wouldn't have been able to match that.
I know they had players coming off the books, but that would have really messed up their cap structure.
It would have forced them to maybe trade Allmark if they signed.
him. So really, what have, you would have killed two birds.
We just don't see these offer sheets.
And now you're going to have teams of dying if Boston would trade one of those guys.
Because there's just no goalies available.
Okay, last one for you.
We've beaten up with the bottom feeders this week.
So we can't keep going until we talk about Columbus.
It's been awful there.
They get a big win last night against Buffalo, which is why Buffalo is burning today on
sports talk radio stations.
But Fantilli's ice is not big.
Eurecheck scratched last night.
Like young guys are asking, could we have a change of scenery?
we're feeling like we're at the end of the run of this GM.
It's already the second coach this year with Babcock blowing up in their faces.
Like where are we at?
Without seeing behind the curtain, obviously it looks like dysfunction.
Like you just like I would, you know, we don't know.
I always try to give organizations the benefit of the doubt because I feel like in the
public eye we get 10% of the real story of what's going on.
But the 10% I see, it looks dysfunctional.
And I don't know.
I mean, I get it.
I don't blame the coach.
Coaches are trying to win games.
Right.
Not trying to.
The NHL isn't a developmental league.
The NHL is, you put on a jersey.
It drives me nuts to see when the other day,
Ryan Reeves hit somebody.
I think it was against the Bruins and he hit like potteress or whatever,
the 19 year old kid.
And people from Boston are like, oh, my God, you know,
a man hit a boy, you know, like, oh, what a hero.
I'm like, is he wearing a jersey?
he's if he's wearing a jersey in the
NHL, the expectation is
you get treated like an NHLer.
You don't wear a special
white jersey or green jersey out there
going, don't hit me because I'm 18 or 19.
So I come back to it.
If you're, if you're trying to teach lessons
because we've seen Gudrow get bench,
we've seen Linae get sat out,
we're seeing young guys. Kent Johnson got sent to the minors,
came back up, they put them.
And I liked what they did with Kent Johnson.
They sent him to the minors.
And I talked to some,
somebody in the HL and they were like, this guy's lighting it up.
So they called him up.
I did the game.
It was Columbus, Ottawa, and they put him right on the top line.
They didn't put him on the fourth line and gave him six minutes.
They called him up and put him right on the top line, which is where he belongs when he's
going to be an everyday NHL player.
I don't know the plan there.
I would like to see if they had this like master plan, but something doesn't smell right
there.
Accountability, country club.
I don't know.
I remember Mark Bergevin years ago
coming out in the media
and he got fried for this.
He said,
we need an attitude adjustment.
And he,
you know,
he'd traded PK and,
you know,
he brought in different players,
but there was no rhyme or reason.
But I remember him saying,
like,
I don't like the attitude.
It was almost like the culture.
Something was wrong with the culture.
So he brought in Shea Weber.
She Weber was a great mentor to Nick Suzuki.
You know,
you moved up patcher ready.
You brought in pieces like the,
He tried, tried to change the culture.
I don't know what's going on in Columbus,
but it reeks to me that there's something behind the scenes
that doesn't smell right.
All right. Boom, we'll be back next week to chat with you.
He'll ask you about the sphere.
We're way too hockey today.
We apologize.
It's very nerdy.
We didn't.
I'll finish.
The sphere was unbelievable.
I've got a buddy who's the head of marketing there.
So we got the red carpet treatment.
I was in a box, side stage, just being a hero.
And then I donated some money at the blackjack table.
And that's probably why my voice is shot because it was a late night.
I did not drink and smoke that night, though.
So it was good.
It was just more of a late night and the body's catching up.
Well, hey, even the Mona Lisa's falling apart.
It's not just you.
Get healthy.
Look out for the aves.
We saw them.
Enjoy the holidays.
Merry Christmas.
All right, guys.
Merry Christmas.
We'll see you on the backside.
Appreciate you.
All right.
See you later.
There's one of our insiders, Jamie McClellan on the tell us.
insider hotline. A reminder, Tell us and the Flames
been partner since 2005. They've got
the TELUS Skater Program, which of course
has a young skater
in the pregame, get on the ice,
and do warm up with the flames at the Saddle Dome for
home games, and they're the title sponsor of the premium
club at the Saddle Dome, the TELUS
Club. Lots in there.
Very hockey red. I apologize.
You too, though. You're part of the problem.
It was hot, but it was good
because there's a lot to talk about.
A lot of the stuff starting to play
out, right? Ottawa making a coach
change they're not climbing back into it i don't think they continue to make the
stumble the same way buffalo clearly is the team that we thought they were going to be
Columbus is a dumpster fire even after a nine four win there it's a shit show there
and you're getting clarity on the team what teams need
you have to be exploring a marks from trade
if he's open to it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And again, the major flying the ointment is what Dean talked about yesterday.
The owner was here and watched them beat big team in the final.
And then a team that also won the cup a few years ago.
And so that's fine.
Please let Connie do this if he can.
Please.
Can you imagine if they reverse course and actually go into a situation where,
no, we want to make the playoffs?
We're going to push for it.
How are we going to do it?
We're going to add pieces.
Can I imagine?
We've watched it here for fucking years.
I know.
And it's not a.
far-fetched thing. And if, if they are doing it, we don't agree with it.
Like, we're just, right? Like, this has been our take for a long time. Don't do it.
Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. It's the wrong thing to do.
Long term. Long term. It doesn't matter. We're out. We're building in three years.
We're not in charge. And the owner has said, no, make the playoffs. Make the playoffs.
And win around and quit pissing around. We're not, what's a move?
Just put on your GM hat again. What are, how? What are you go look? What are you looking
for if you're the flames. Is Johnny Goddrow?
And the only reason I think about it is because I know, but why not?
No, no. I'm laughing. It's funny. No, the cap would be a nightmare. The one that makes a lot
of sense for me is Anthony Duclair, if they were going to add. And again, I don't think they should,
but there's a guy that was on the same wing as Hubertoe during his best year. And I don't
want to pander too much. But I mean, Huberdow is either going to be a great boat anchor that
keeps you from doing anything for eight years, or he's only going to slow you down a little. You're
going to have to try everything you possibly can to get him to be productive, pulling the rope in
the right direction, even if it's a little. Duclair's a guy, I could see them doing it, because what the hell
San Jose doing with me? Just out of curiosity, just out of curiosity. Yeah. Why, what are Goodrose
numbers this year? Can you punch him? Not good. I think he's got like five goals and.
So how far off are his points from Hubertos? Still, I think, pretty considerable, but not,
maybe it might be eight, nine points, but Huberto, it's like a nine game run where he has
But you know what I'm going to get that, right?
Where it's like, why?
Because this is, I don't think maybe Goodro was significantly better last year.
And maybe this is the only down year.
But both of them are playing horseshit hockey.
Yeah.
Why is Hubert O, why is Goodro?
I think Goodroo would be regarded as a reclamation project.
And you'd still have to pay to get him.
Like, do you know what I mean?
Like if you're calling Columbus, they're wanting return.
If someone calls Conroy, it's like, you can have it.
I just think the level of disappointment.
And again, I haven't watched much Columbus.
No.
It's still fucking Columbus and we're in Alberta.
Like, don't care.
But I don't think it's been nearly as bad.
He didn't drop off by 60 points last year.
You might have dropped by 20 or something.
But I mean, it's not a bad point.
I think both teams would be very open to like, why hasn't this worked?
How do we get that guy back?
There's some similarities there.
No doubt.
now here's the thing I have with when we talk about Buffalo, Ottawa, Montreal.
It's all cute to talk about getting better and making the playoffs.
Look at your fucking division.
You're knocking out there.
You're not going to Toronto.
You're not going to know Boston.
You're not going to know, Florida.
You're not going out of Tampa Bay.
Like Detroit's the closest to doing it.
And I still would have money on them missing.
Yeah, but I'm sorry.
Like you're just not there yet.
Well, you're not there.
But at some point you have to make a statement to being there.
That's not changing next year.
I mean, it's the same.
You wouldn't accept that argument.
You wouldn't accept that argument for the flames in their divisions.
You got Colorado, L.A.
Their division is different, though.
It's like it's Vegas and Edmonton in the Pacific.
And Vancouver's popped up and L.A. has been better.
But it's not the gauntlet of those four teams.
If we talked about it in the off season, I'm saying.
Like right now it looks different.
But when we talked about it in the off season,
and no one was saying, look how good the Canucks are,
and man, the Kings are, they might win the West.
Like, no one was saying that, right?
We all know that Toronto, Boston, Tampa, Florida.
These are very, very good teams
with significant track records of success.
And even the team that you might have said lost some talent.
Well, it's Boston.
And they missed two major players for the first half of last season
had the greatest regular season in league history.
I just see it as that is the toughest gaunt in the league right there.
Anyway, kind of beating our heads about it.
You want to let's do some non-hawks.
should we do that?
Whatever you want.
You're going to like this because I feel like
you're a guy that dives into some documentaries.
I think you're into like what's going on in the world a bit,
maybe some crazy,
we're a little speck in the universe type stuff,
big picture, nature, space.
Check out what's happening in Iceland.
We have a volcano.
It's like going crazy right now.
And people are like ripping around with drones getting visual.
So this is for Finning Cat.
This is I dig it because we don't,
how long have,
you think we've had like drones that are decent and you could rip around and get video.
This is all very much like in the last 10 years of our lives, right?
Oh, yeah.
Like this is new stuff.
So for Finning Cat, I dig it.
We're looking, we get to see stuff that we haven't seen in aging, in age, like from this angle ever before.

This is not far from Reykavik, I believe the capital of Iceland.
People chasing volcanoes.
We've heard of storm chasers.
These are now the drone volcano chasers.
Check out the footage.
I got the gas mask on.
We're zipping it on the drone, rat.
That's, uh, it's boiling rock.
It's going to be hot, in shake.
Molten.
Magma.
This is,
from afar.
That's where I was.
Yeah, from afar.
I think this is like the lava going into the ocean.
In Iceland,
this is nuts.
Crazy.
Who said visit Iceland?
Have you been near any volcanoes?
I know people do some volcano stuff in Hawaii occasionally.
We went to do the big Hawaii helicopter up to the top of the volcano and fly over it.
and drove four hours from 5 a.m. and to get there and they canceled it.
Oh, can we go back a bit? Look how close these people are. Maybe this is the angle. Like,
what are we doing here, people? That is, uh, yeah, so basically everything on earth is just, you know,
floating on top of this, uh, boiling rock. Crazy. Okay. Yeah, that's not for me.
I'll be back where the guy with the camera is for this one,
Rett, if that's okay.
Is there a pub that you can?
Some sort of burn proof pub?
I'd post up on that patio.
Crazy.
You've been to Iceland? Do you want to go?
I wanted to go, but I'm not going for a while now.
I think you'll wait it out.
You know, wait until the volcano settled down.
Yeah.
Word good things.
Okay, that's, I dig it for Finning Cat.
Again, Finning Cat, whether it's rentals or,
equipment, repair, parts, power solutions.
Fitting.com for a location near you, fitting cat,
cat, proud partner of the NHL.
I dig it.
Jack, did you dig that?
That was a lot of work putting that shit together, I imagine.
Wasn't that hard.
Yeah, that's cool.
I really don't get how people are that close to it, though.
Yeah, and you see how the one dude was wearing the gas mask.
Obviously, the fumes are legit.
And most of the drone footage that we saw there were people saying,
yeah, I got this wicked footage, but the drone went down.
Yeah.
Because if it's hot enough to have melted rock, your drone,
You don't get too close.
Yeah, I'll watch the video.
I don't need to be right.
Even that ring melted in the lava.
The ring?
Yeah.
Oh, the Lord of the Rings?
Yeah.
Even that one, yeah, Jack forgot to put that in the edit.
It did melt.
I want to tell you about the hearing loss clinic.
We've told you they've got four locations in Calgary,
Philflin opening soon, but they're not just saying,
hey, come visit us, which of course is a great idea if you.

If your teeth are bugging, you go see a dentist.
If you're yours are bugging, you go see the people at the hearing loss clinic.
They're also doing some giveaways, though, right?
Check this out.
We have a Reggie Bagelton signed jersey.
Roger.
And a signed CFL ball by a few of the stampede.
I believe there's four to six signatures on there.
Bagelton jersey, that looks nice.
and all you need to do
to be enter to win this thing.
Follow the hearing loss clinic on Twitter

excuse me,

where you got to spend money
to get cool stuff.
This is easy.

It's that simple.
Have you had something that easy,
right?
We're not asking you for money.
Don't pull up your wallet.
My life is never.
My life is the mouse.
Never that easy.
Never.
Twitter at the hearing loss and Instagram,
the hearing loss clinic.
There are the handles,
follow those.
Watch our socials on Flames Nation,
and you will be entered to win.
Also, hearing loss clinic,
not just in Calgary,

Creston, Fernie, Golden,
and Invermer as well.
In that fifth location in Calgary coming soon.
Stay tuned.
Thanks to our boy, Rhodesy.
That is one of many packages that we will have.
So if you're not following them on socials,
you just can't win.
So if you like Flames, Jersey, stamps, jerseys, sign stuff, autographs, get her done.
Get her done.
Okay, I want to talk a quick Flames thing with you.
Kent Wilson has been writing for Flames Nation for ages.
He's now doing some stuff with the paper.
Kent has been a long time, I guess, writer on the Calgary Flames.
And he threw this out, I think, this morning or last night.
It was Huberto on Backland and Coleman's line has basically become.
a non-event offensively.
And it's not because it's Backland and Coleman there necessarily.
They're putting up points.
But Hubertow, it's just like, it's almost like you've taken the white out and erased him.
So he's not hurting, but he isn't helping offensively.
How would you feel if you swap Manjapani and Huberto?
Man, Japan, he hasn't been quite right.
He always looks great with Backlin and Coleman.
And I guess it gets us back into the Sharon Govich and Lindholm are kind of going right now.
Lentholm's taking a lot of heat for not being a star,
but quietly his winger is rolling right now,
and that line has been pretty good.
Would you entertain a menjapani, Huberto swap,
or do you think two coaches moving Lintom and Hubertoe apart,
it's like they're done with it?
I'd be done.
I don't, I don't, I don't,
I've seen nothing in the history of this,
these guys together that speaks to them finding a way to play together.
And I'm talking about Hubert O and Lentholm.
And, and I,
think Darrell Sutter, his quote, remember last year when he said to, yeah, I, there's something
there. I just don't know exactly what it is, but I would think it's more than we imagine.
Well, I think there's something there for sure. And I don't know. Like, Daryl says a lot of things
and you're like, oh, does he mean that? Does he mean that? And it's like, you know, he says,
oh, he's the best pastor in the history of the league. Like, is he taking a shot at Hubert? Does he
believe that in the preseason? I don't know. But as things.
play out, you can be like, oh, he meant this, but
we're not really sure.
He also said, you know,
my gut tells me, he's taking a shit.
My gut tells me
there's
there would be something there.
Yeah. An issue there, you mean?
Not something that would work there.
Because it just seems, if
you made that swap,
just from the outside
and on paper, it looks like everyone's
going to have a better chance at doing what they're good at.
You can't shelter a back.
line. He has to be playing against other
team's top lines. That's what he's best at.
And you can shelter a line
with Huberto if he's not on a Backland
line. And now that you've got Sharon
Govich going and Lindholm playing a little bit better,
is there more opportunity that? I don't know.
But when they made that Sharifold is
is it a net positive or a net negative?
You're trying to get Mangapani involved
or keep backlin and Coleman have been
real good? Yeah.
And with Mangipani, they've always been real good.
So my point is if you're not getting any
addition to Huberto,
Could you swap them back and get some value added with Mangapani there?
I don't know.
Something I saw online that I was thinking about.
I wouldn't screw with, Sherry, Yigur and Lindholm and Mangapani.
They're going pretty good.
That's fair.
We got Christmas covered for you, fellas.
Easy to screw up, but also easy to get right.
You just got to have a plan.
The plan is simple.
It's fina nova.com slash barn burner.
We're laying it out for you.
What's two options we've got for you, okay?
So number one, you use the promo code Barnburner.
They're going to knock 15% off, either in store or online.
And then secondly, secondly, it's like, look, I just give me something that's already done.
I don't know what even, I don't know the words.
I don't want to talk about stuff.
Like what's, what we have a three star option.
It's Viannova.com slash barn burner.
This is exclusive to you guys, our buddies.
And look, we got new ones because they're moving, fellas.
That on the left is brand new.
Jack, can you read that for us?
What do we got going on here?
Tennis bracelet.
Oh, the ladies love the tennis bracelet.
That's a lot of diamonds,
and when it's lab at the diamonds.
I still don't understand why it's called tennis, but whatever.
I feel like that would,
that's not what I see the Williams sisters wearing or, you know,
that that feels like a lot to do with gala,
not tennis.
You're right.
Yeah, it is not a name.
It looks lovely.
So that is one of our stars of the Barmburner three stars.
That'll be a big hit.
That would be a big hit.
And then the middle one is,
you're going to have to read these for me, Jacko.
Oh, the Solitaire necklace,
14-carat yellow gold,
and a half-carat diamond.
There you go.
Okay, very good.
And then our third option atvenova.com
slash barn burner is a diamond hexagon stud earring.
This is another new set.
We're moving through the three stars.
You're seeing what's happening here, Red.
These, as soon as someone buys them, Justin Ivinova puts up another great deal with huge savings.
On top of the savings you're already getting with the lab made diamonds.
So the three stars has been moving here.
Yeah, if you see something you like, get on it.
Get on there.
You can go in store and mention these as well.
But again, this is just for our viewers.
There's no links on the main website.
You've got to go to vinanova.com slash barn burner to get there.
Very good.
So those are the three stars.
You get your promo code.
If you don't like the three stars, you're saving a number one.
matter what you do, as long as you're doing Christmas, Avina Nova, and you haven't screwed up
Christmas, you've won. Done. Love it. Pinda Report, shall we? Yes. Love the Pender Report.
Let's get at it. It's for Village Honda. Pre-owned, lots of stock on site. Also, access to over 400
vehicles in their dealer group. Head up to the Northwest Auto Mall. Say hello to Anthony and the gang.
Happy holidays to everyone from Village Honda. And, of course, if you don't like something they have on
size. We got a dealer group. We had access to
over 400 vehicles. Any make,
any budget, any model,
access to it, go up
to the Northwest Auto Models Mall
and say hello. Let your automotive
adventures begin at Village Honda or VillageHonda
dot com. We start
with the gauntlet.
Off day yesterday. We got no flames news.
Nothing to talk about, Rhett. I hope they enjoyed
the fellows, had a nice day of rest.
Back-to-back wins over Floridian teams.
You've earned a little R&R.
And R&R. Good, Capito. It'll be great.
Two to go. I really don't like that they're probably going to be 500 here.
Literally the toughest 15 games their season.
15, what are we talking?
Like, almost 15, 20% of their season here.
That is a really impressive run.
And again, blown out once.
Sure, some blown leads, but you've Tana have gone for four, Markstrom gone for three or four.
That's also something scary to think about is if you didn't shit your pants a few games,
you could be eight three and two that road trip they blew a third period lead in
Colorado they blew a third period lead in Vegas and they blew a third period lead in
Minnesota yeah like this could be it would not be crazy to suggest you know they're
they've got eight wins not six and Dean saying yeah well your opponents didn't play above
sure but guess what your power play sucks and you're missing two of your most important pieces
for a bit of this this isn't all luck they have not looked out of I don't think there's a lot
of luck involved to be honest with you I think they've worked
hard. They've worked really hard. They have not been outworked much. The Minnesota loss at home was the
only one where you're like, ooh, that's not a great effort. But that's one out of 13 so far. That's
really nice. Last year's group would found a way to not show up for a few more of those. Two to
go. They're heading to Greater L.A. I imagine today's travel day. Practice at 1030 hit the road. Would that
makes sense tomorrow skate play the ducks and then on
Saturday it is the LA Kings who have been very very good
the ducks had a hot start but they are definitely where we thought the ducks
would be cooling off after that hot start
win them both and then make Pinder have to
well but it's going to screw things up for you they're not trading
Markstrom if they go eight five and two on this 15 game run
bring in the wolf I'd love to bring in the wolf but they're not
going to bring in the wolf to running the record like this.
I don't know.
It does get to the point.
It gets to the point where you make, though, if you go through this godlet and you can play
that well, if you get two more wins and you should have had another
over time, win against Colorado or Vegas or Minnesota.
And you're talking about you won 10 out of this, nine out of that 15.
That's pretty good.
it's really good.
But you don't, at that point, you just keep going.
And you let that team decide what happens next.
And everyone, the nature of our business is everyone is in a hurry to make up their mind about stuff, right?
Like it's 10 games in, here's what they are.
It's 20 games in, here's what they are.
The thing that I think the people that don't talk about it for a living, but like Connie and the AGMs,
like what they do is, they've got until about 60 some games to figure out what this team is.
and you watch and you say,
okay, here's some adversity.
How do they react?
Oh, we lost Tanna.
What do we have in these young defensemen?
Oh, there goes Markstrom.
What do we have with Wolf and Fla Dar?
You don't have to, you know, put up a mural of a mural of what you think this team is like,
losers, winners, playoffs.
Not like, let it play out.
Watch this group.
I think it's a much more cohesive, functional, happy place to work than it was last year.
And we'll see if it's a better team or not.
It's looked a lot different, but it's also missing.
some of the pieces they enjoyed last year
in the sense of like Zadorov's now been moved.
You are missing some of that to Foley production.
Don't mind the kids though.
So we'll see.
Zadorov, speaking of his departure,
he had this to say.
He had a long chat with John Scott
on the dropping the gloves podcast.
Here's a quote I wanted to read you.
Well, the organization's different.
He's asked about going to Vancouver.
It's the way they take care of players.
It's another level.
I mean, I've probably seen something closer
of that in Buffalo last time.
The food, the staff, doctors, everything,
like everything, top-notch literally.
And I think the coaching for sure, during practice,
we have like nine coaches.
And like we have two Cedines.
We have Gonschar, we have Tocke.
We have Adam Foote.
We literally have like unbelievable players in the past.
And they can always like after some games,
they come, they give you like little tips
where they can help you in game.
There's a little likes in there.
You can cut out with the likes there, Nikita.
Super, super friendly, great environment in the room.
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
he's happy, right?
Very happy.
And that's not how I think things
would be described in Vancouver
the last two or three years.
Well, maybe, but you learned from your past,
right, Pinder?
Yeah, well, and, hey, it's,
Jimbo's out.
Cydines have got a little more clout there.
They've been looming in the background for a while,
and all of a sudden, they're star players,
they're all playing like star players.
What's, how many goals does Besser have?
I think he's almost all of a 20.
It's crazy.
Yeah.
Do you see Matthews at 25 last night?
Holy shit.
It's halfway to 50 already, Red.
I know I'm going to get in trouble, but I'm looking.
No, no, you're good.
If you're doing the Googles on how many goals, I may okay.
I'll pull up the league leading scores here because Besser, I bet you's top three or four.
So leading the league and goals, Austin Matthews, Matthews, 25, 23 for Brock Besser.
Yeah, that's what I thought I saw.
Kucherov 22.
Those are the only three over 20.
So Matthews, Besser, Kuchero.
of your talk of you.
He could have had better for a song and a dance.
I know Trou Living was really interested, but
again, it was that money. That's the damn
problem. Yeah, well, is he worth it?
He is this year.
And it was more or not that he wouldn't be worth the money,
but like, who do we move out to make
room for said player? It was always you have to make a
move to make room for this move.
Flat Cap world's
been tough for these GMs to make deals.
Oh, boo-hoo.
Yeah, I know, boo-hoo. Hey, we told you Brady-Cuch
fought again last night when we
chatted with noodles. He had that fight against
Tyler Tucker, that young kid
in St. Louis the other night. First game for the new
head coach in St. Louis. Cichucks
Club blew a lead last night.
Let's have a look. Another fight
for Brady. It's not his fault,
Red. Dumbah, good on him, but
the Chuck grabs with the left,
throws with the rights, down.
They might not be done, but
the Cachucks,
they like it a little.
Dad likes it.
We've been feisty every now and then.
We talked about Brady
Kachuk being an emotional leader.
The jockman,
Martin told him
us this morning.
He said he likes Brady.
This guy reminds me so much
of a guy that you played with.
He's left-handed, not right-handed.
That's basically the difference.
Captains, don't care if you're a fourth-liner or a star,
I'll fight you.
And the emotional heartbeat of the team.
Does this not look like Jerome before the flames turn the corner
and made the playoffs with you in 03-04?
Yes, it very much does.
And there aren't a lot of guys like,
there wasn't a lot of guys like that when Jerome played,
never mind now.
I mean,
I don't know that there's a better comfort
for Brady could check than a left hand of Jerome McKinla.
It's a special skill.
It's highly complimentary.
That's for sure.
Yeah.
And I think that's like Matthew's a very different player.
He's a pest.
He's got great vision.
But he doesn't have that power to his game that Brady has.
Brady's a much bigger,
stronger athlete.
That's not to say Matthew isn't,
but it's a different level.
Yeah. Matthew's got the attitude and the,
the pest from his old man.
Brady's got the size and the physicality.
And the F you.
Whoa.
Yeah, I'm okay with him being the captain there.
Seems like a fine choice.
They blew a serious lead there.
Was it three nothing?
Like, oh.
Yes, it was.
In Arizona.
And I think that's only the second team that's lost
the first game with the new coach.
It looked like the new coach bounce was happening,
and then it wasn't.
You're going to miss Nolan Patrick?
Yes.
He goes.
It was more pizza when he was around.
Yeah.
That's sad, though.
That's brutal.
We joked his draft here.
He noted that, hey, what's your favorite pizza?
They do all the dumb draft questions.
I don't like pizza.
What?
Red flag.
Can't draft this kid.
We thought it would be a joke, but not drafting this kid is probably would have saved
someone's job in Philly.
Never worked there.
He ended up in Vegas.
It hasn't worked there.
The migraine thing was bugging him.
A lot of issues health-wise.
and he was looking like a consensus first overall guy midway through his draft year.
It's just everything after that's been tough.
Yeah.
Crazy.
Lesson for kids.
It's not going to be easy no matter what.
It doesn't just happen.
No.
And being the best at your age when you're 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, all the way up.
That's great.
But there's the league where people peak at 25, 27, somewhere in that.
there, right? 23 to 27.
That's tough when you miss on a pick that high.
And that probably is tough.
When you miss on a pick and it's so tough for the kid.
I mean, I don't think that's what he was hoping to accomplish.
No, clearly not.
And never really got a good run because of those health issues out of the gate.
You lose a bunch of developmental years and here we are.
Just three games tonight.
Let's take a peek at them in the NHL.
It's not the greatest buffet of all time.
We'll get to this on the menu.
later today for DoorDash.
But Jets are in action.
I'll second half of the back-to-back.
They beat the Oilers last night.
Oilers, eight wins in a row, now three losses in a row,
Rhett?
And then a West Coast matchup in L.A., Seattle, at Los Angeles.
You know what else? It's been good?
Saturday.
The Jets.
They have been really good. Really good.
And this is without Kyle Connor now.
I, uh, last year we knew something was
wrong. The year before we saw
Maurice just like,
I'm out of here. They need someone
else. I'm done with them. They're done with me.
Essentially was the vibe I got. Job in Florida.
Rick Bonas,
postseason was not
mincing words about what he thought of the group.
I think Blake Wheeler
out of there. Huge.
It was a big thing. And I think
Pierre-Luc de Bois out of there was a big
thing. Shifley
and Hellebuck
we assumed would want out. They
looked around and said, we can do this here. And the guys that wanted out are out, the guys that
want to be there or there. I wonder if there's anything the flames could learn from that there.
Because I think TANF would like to be here. I don't love the age. It's not the same. But there's
some guys that would be here. But there's also guys that it's like maybe just getting the people that
don't want to be here out of here is going to help the room. Makes a big difference.
They've done it with Zedorov, right? You don't want to.
Love Cian Austerly, Gilbert, D. Simone, Salove,
as much as you have, but there's also no one that's open.
Maybe, but again, if it's a net, it's a net positive,
because those guys want to be your employee.
So let's go with that.
The A. Just Wonder continues, Rhett.
We don't often show you line-up notes on game days in the Czech Republic,
but we do today.
Because Yarmor Yager is set to make his season debut for H.C. Cladno.
Yeah, yeah.
Guess how old he is?
51.
You're reading our notes?
What are you doing here?
What?
Yarmory Yager is 51.
He's older than I am, and I know how old I am.
What are you?
39?
What are you?
Calculated guess.
Unreal.
And so the real interesting part here is that you cannot go into the hall while you're still playing.
So Yarmory Yager is not yet in the hall at 51.
The earliest he can get in to be like 54.
I don't think he's overly concerned.
No. And I just, yeah, because I hope you're doing this for the right reason.
I think the word is he might have to kind of do this to keep his team selling tickets and such.
I don't give a shit what he does. Keep it up.
I love that he's playing. I love this playing.
Okay. That's it for hockey. We've got Thursday night football tomorrow.
You, sir, of what, only two weeks left to get, to win our title as the Betway Picks champion.
Here's tomorrow night's game.
it is the Rams hosting the Saints.
Stafford back and looking good.
Kieran Williams back and looking good.
We'll see what this looks like.
The Saints have had a good D and a really tough to figure out offense this year.
Four points of the Rams to lay at home.
I think they're doing a good job on this one.
That's a tough one for me to look at and say, I know what I'm doing.
Austin Reeves, is that the fellow's name, Jack?
You can give us the description.
We're going to the NBA now, Red.
Chris's son?
he's a hooper and a dimer.
Now this guy,
why don't you take a look at him.
Okay, he's tall.
Scratch his neck.
Yeah, what's going on there?
Can we zoom in on the neck there?
What's, uh,
I'm making jack work here.
That looks like,
a 28-foot python sucked on his neck for an hour or two.
Like, he almost got eaten.
That's, uh, that's quite a hickie he's sporting.
He's fighting Draymond Greenman.
Yeah, maybe Draymond got him with one.
Those four-arm shivers.
That's, uh, that's quite something.
Poor guy.
Took a ball in the throat.
You ever, uh, that's what it was.
Yeah, those small basketballs that fit right between your chin and your collarbone.
You ever have to worry about cover up a hickey during a game, Red?
No, no, no, I haven't.
No.
You just go.
I supported them proudly.
The botanic turtlenecks always a move.
You don't have that option in the NBA.
Oh, I don't know why they made me laugh, but there it is.
Don't you, couldn't, don't you talk to one of the ladies?
can I just get a little cover up here?
Like a little makeup, no one will know.
I think you're making it out that that's for sure what it is.
I'm not thinking that.
Yeah, maybe it was a cobra.
You're right.
Look at this thing.
It's fighting in the bar last night.
Maybe that could be it too.
Okay, to the dumb shit, we go.
This has got to be in Florida, I'm guessing,
because I don't know where you were growing up in Saskatoon,
if you ever had gators on your driveway, did you?
No.
they didn't like the cool breeze yeah a little chilly for the reptiles cold blood
so you never had to do this with with uh the gator we're not up in florida right this is you
i think back in the day is that joanowski's house yeah that's a decent size rock
pull it up he's not happy
looks a little vicious.
Look at this
hero.
The end of all.
Yeah, you can
fade the volume a bit.
So, I mean,
did you have a guy in your community
you'd lean on when you had a gator outside?
Is that you?
I feel like I'm inside at the window.
We could take that gator down,
no problem.
Something spooky about that, man.
I don't know.
Nobody's helping.
Yeah, no one wants to go near him.
Weird, hey?
It's almost like there's,
there's a gator inside the garbage bin.
Yeah, what could be in there?
I would have left it in there for a Christmas gift.
Just taking it to someone's house.
Look, he's even taking them home.
This is nice.
I know you wouldn't be this nice.
You abandoned a pet that your family loved.
Automate boots.
You would have left them in there.
That can go in the garbage truck.
I'm done with this guy.
Okay, we'll move.
I got something written down says roof.
No, was that you were Rob Brad that jumped off the roof yesterday.
As long as it's roof nut roofy.
Yeah, we don't want that.
That's Friday.
Oh, yeah.
See, look at this.
You're putting up the Christmas lights.
Oh.
I love door cams.
Oh, that's ribs, buddy.
You're winded and that's ribs.
That's the exact sound I was making.
Yeah, that's not Chewbacca.
They're not listening to Star Wars inside.
That is a man who's broken a rib and winded.
Can you go back to that, though, again?
Just for one more.
Like, what point do you?
My liking.
Right now.
you know, you're screwed.
You got to accept that you're going down and you got to,
I think this guy tried to fight it.
You think he can jump his way out of this.
Jump!
What are you hoping to happen there?
Jump!
You got a hedge there.
I think you want to land in the hedge with your feet first.
You got shoes on.
You don't want to be tied up in that freaking ladder.
Duh.
Let's take a look.
This is what you were talking about the other day.
Dan Murphy, who does the reporting of Vancouver on sports
that took a picture of this in Tennessee.
They played Nashville last night.
We noted the Canucks were like dogs there.
What are we doing?
Of course they won.
We should have been on all over that.
Old smoky, gnaug moonshine.
Now, this is it.
This is what you're talking about, isn't it?
I got some.
Is it the same packaging?
Are there different flavors?
No, that's the one.
There's different old smoky moonshine flavors,
but that's the Nogger.
So that's coming out tomorrow, right?
no Friday
Sure
Yeah yeah
Sent a lot of text today
Trying to get a shopping list
This is busy
Very busy
Uh
And finally
A couple items
This dog looks like a dude
If this was your dog
You wouldn't have given them to Boomer
Look at this guy
It's just like hanging out
With one of your pals
Oh
Maybe they're stage at the Christmas party house
Maybe they're staging in them
Right?
Maybe they just
The man of the

Joe, he's doing this all day.
Cross legs.
Oh, yeah. He's not on the couch.
I'm just talking about the football team, right?
No big deal. Go bills.
You get too wound up.
You wouldn't be giving that guy. Look at that guy.
Oh, Hank.
Yeah, you got to give that dog a name. It's just a dude's name.
Yeah.
That's Jim. Jim the dog.
Okay. Last one.
been tough go for the New Jersey Devils this year.
One of the preseason darlings in Stanley Cup odds.
They had to Foley.
They beat the Rangers last year.
Coming back from a two-o-hole.
Everything's coming up, Devils.
From that to this.
Some of the cheap seats here, Rhett.
Looks like we got someone a little wall.
It doesn't like heights.
That's got to be it.

Sorry about that around.
Village Honda in the Northwest

Make it your dealership for life.

How about that? Very good.
Villageonda.com or in the Northwest
Auto Mall.
We got to ask Grette tomorrow.
For Bontan meets, I feel like
of this should be our
Christmas extravaganza.
You have any quick Christmas holiday questions?
This is the season.
Red is in the mood. He's thinking about it. He's humming.
Christmas carols all day.
It's odd. I'm not even
annoyed with the Christmas tunes yet.
It's going so fast.
The Christmas music hasn't even bothered me.
I'm usually pretty irritable on the Christmas stuff
because it's like the very poppy stuff.
I'm like, I don't need to hear Mariah Carey
36 times in two weeks.
What I've done, it's like a nice meet in the middle.
Just do the instrumental jazz.
I was going to say, I don't need the singing.
I like the, yes.
And then everyone's happy.
Breakfast this morning.
Tirds aren't eating their food.
Mama's getting frustrated.
Little Christmas jazz, and away we go.
The day got it back.
I also sing a lot of Christmas music.
so it's very joyous around our house.
If you want to know Rhett's favorite Christmas Carol,
you could ask that.
If you want to know Rhett's favorite Christmas party story,
we've heard a few from the Flames of 0404, that era.
You could ask that.
All the questions, ask Rhett at Flames Nation.com.
We'll get to those tomorrow with the boomcat.
All the presentation of Bontan.
Bontan Meat Market, a Calgary tradition since 1921,
only the best service, meat,
All that.
Potato salad, potato salad, potato salad.
Thank you to Greg.
We'll do it.
Ask Brett tomorrow for Bon Ton Meat Market.
We have to make some adjustments.
Sorry.
I know you went shopping yesterday.
We have a menu alteration for the Friday holiday spirit show.
Very, very small.
You might not even notice.
We're still going to start off with the coffee, Bailey whiskey.
Oh, great.
Dung shaft. Mamosas in there, peppermint mule, the barmberna blonde with clam, a paloma, Christmas margarita.
The mold wine was going to be too much, red, because I don't want you microwave and mold wine.
I don't think people can do it at home. It's a huge event. You need to heat it up either in a crock pot or in a sauce pan.
We don't have access to that here at the studio. And we still, as much as it might be a little grenade to the gut, we do need a little eggnog flavor.
how about an eggnog shaft there?
Love it.
In the nine hole to finish up.
Love it.
So we'll see, we've got Tim the booze guy coming in.
Mandipe from BK. Beaufort Liquor is going to have us decked out with all the booze.
I am on garnish and mix run today.
And that's a slight adjustment.
Now again, this is merely an outline.
If you are playing along at home, we encourage you to do the things you'd like to do and do them responsibly.
But this is going to be a tweak.
is now Christmas drinks, the holiday spirits list 3.0, as we've removed most of the spelling errors,
and we have our updated drink order. That could change quickly. How is the shoveler feeling about
Friday? Uh, she said, she went like this to me today, and that's how close to a nervous
breakdown, she said she said. Really? Not about the show and the booze thing, but just the young
lad, it's still sick at home, it's
throwing all over schedule, it's
very stressful. Why do we have
children? I mean, they're quite amusing.
You know what? It's great about children?
Gosh. You know,
you get the fancy phones now and every
day you get the seven years ago
today. That's what's great about children.
Yes, looking back. Yeah.
The present is just
a real bastard. You're right.
The hindsight's wonderful. Like, oh,
Fond is the memory. Oh, great.
This is for steps. Oh, that's
Oh, great, was it?
Yeah, do you remember how pissy and miserable you were?
Oh, it's wonderful.
Look at these pictures.
Now, boys, I need you to be respectful.
We're at someone else's house.
Okay, Mr. Poopie Pants.
I'm like, oh, what have I done?
Life was so easy and good.
Why did I create these copies of me?
Yeah.
DoorDash, what's on the menu tonight?
I need you to use your expertise.
I will tell you the menu what's going on.
You will tell me what you're ordering on DoorDash.
DoorDash is great.
It's not just restaurants.
It can be groceries.
It can be pharmacies, flour stores, whatever you need.
DoorDash can grab it for you.
Download the app.
Head over there.

your first order on DoorDash will come with free delivery and 25% off,
as long as you got over $15,000.
for an order, which I can't see how you'd be under that
if you're door dashing, especially in our homes.
We've got lots of hungry, hungry turkeys.
Nation 25 is the promo code for that.
DoorDash dash that for the win on the menu tonight.
It's Hooping and Diamond.
We'll see who's got hickies tonight, Rhett.
Denver at Toronto.
As was that, Jamal Murray returns home, Jack?
Did I name the right Canadian?
Yes, Jamal Murray.
Jamal Murray, the world champ for a couple years ago.
And the Nugs last year.
Four and a half point favorites.
they're in Toronto.
And tonight I got a little
HL action for you,
the Wranglers and Condors.
It's a HL Battle of Alberta.
So if you want to catch up Oilers fans
on Jack Campbell and how things are going,
you can go to theahel.com or go to
HL.com or go to HL.L.
There's a kid.
So the condors of the Oilers Farm team?
Bakersfield.
Baker's a Groob boy from Calgary
that plays on that team.
A who? A rude boy?
Groob.
Groob.
played in Red Deer.
Okay.
Yeah.
I can pull that up.
You watch it tonight.
Got drafted by the Rangers, got traded to the Oilers last year or something like that.
There you go.
Okay.
All right.
Glenn Saylor.
It's Sailor.
Send them closer at home.
What a great guy.
So that's what's on the menu for DoorDash.
What are you ordering, right?
What are you doing tonight?
I'm going with lasagna.
Lazzania.
I'm going to go heavy because tonight is a down night.
Yep.
And then things start to pick up again.
I want to have a big, I get a carb load tonight.
Yeah.
So that I've got some sustenance and some staying power for the next couple days.
I love it.
It's a good order.
You still don't miss.
And last night you were doing ramen?
Yes.
A sushi a few nights?
Like you're just, you're hitting these out of the park.
There's never any hesitation.
It's like watching an elite goal score.
You're like they just know before they've even got the puck, they know what they're doing.
Everyone is all reacting.
You focus on what you're good at.
Don't think, just react.
Just play.
Good work there.
Again, promo code Nation 25.
Download the DoorDash app, 25% off
and free delivery your first order on the app
courtesy our friends at DoorDash.
Batway.
Not a lot of hockey tonight.
Dove in here.
Betway, our official gaming partner
here on the Barnburner podcast.
Three games we showed you in the NHL tonight.
You had Seattle late.
in L.A.
You got Detroit, Winnipeg, got the Islanders,
and the Caps.
Caps have been weird. They looked awful
when the flames passed through the early in the year.
They had a hot run. They've come back to Earth.
I think Ove's on pace for like 15 rat.
This is big trouble for a guy trying to get like another
I mentioned it.
I mentioned it when the flames played there.
He looks like he's lost
more than a step.
Yeah. And it's funny because
he's only losing maybe like a tenth of a
step a year. And now it's like, how do you go
the one year, boom, a full step.
That's what it feels like here, doesn't it?
I like the Islanders on the second half of a back-to-back.
It's plus money.
They're the better team.
We'll see how tired they are.
There was a lot of watching the Oilers carry the puck around last night,
even though they won 3-1.
The other game, I'm on, Winnipeg has been great.
Hellebuck has been great.
That looks like a team all of a sudden.
They get Detroit, who have not been quite right since Patrick came, came on board.
It's in Winnipeg.
I'm going puck line.
And Winnipeg to win by two or more, and that pays plus 140.
So I'm juicing it a little.
The money line wasn't treating me well enough.
I'm going to go to the puck line minus one and a half to get a plus 140.
Jets, hey?
J-E-E-T-E.
Go get them.
They are impressive.
They have been impressive.
They have.
The boomcat was going to drop in today, but we haven't seen them.
How are we feeling about that?
Bye.
See them.
Boomcat.
Yeah.
Sorry about your elephantitis or whatever that is,
but hopefully you're on the men soon.
Battle.
You got a battle.
You know back for at least the Friday show,
maybe tomorrow.
Ask Rhett tomorrow.
Do you want to tell you,
I'm not a lot of sleep on the weekend in Canmore,
but one of the things I'm not hearing anymore
is my wife whining about me snoring,
even when I am a little saucier, Rhett.
Used to be a big thing.
And she said, look, I'm not waking up in the middle night.
Let's do you snore anymore.
Why?
Oh, our friend Dr. Jay at outdoor dental is why.
Two 15-minute treatments.
They have the Salaia laser there.
And they go back and forth over your soft palate.
15 minutes.
Come back in a month.
15 minutes.
Boom.
You've tightened up that soft palate in the back of your throat.
That is what flaps and makes the snoring noise.
Tighten that up.
Less flapping.
Less snoring.
Better sleep for you.
Better sleep for your partner.
Everyone's a winner.
Man.
Everyone's a winner, baby.
If you got dental coverage, most of this procedure entirely covered.
How about that?
Talk about win, win, win, win.
Everyone's win in here.
Go to outdoor.dental for more information.
Say hello to Dr. Jay.
And, of course, if you're just looking for a great place, a new dentist,
well, Dr. Jay does all that other stuff.
And that's Leila Laser comes in handy.
No needles, no crazy chainsaws.
It's just the-all-new high-end first class.
ran across from the South Health campus.
Your boy Trev knows good people,
hey?
He's not him,
it's the company he keeps.
There it is.
Just a wonderful gift for my wife.
She's been quite thankful
about that to be sure.
Okay, light night,
flames back at practice,
game day tomorrow,
it will be the ducks.
We will have the boom cat back.
Friday is a bit of chaos.
Friday, we will attempt,
and this is the plan right now.
Again, this is holiday season,
things are moving and shaken.
We'll attempt to do a normal show.
in rapid fashion.
Maybe you have 40 to 50 minute.
Do your Pinda reports.
Do our Betway bets.
Do our Friday conversation with Dregor.
Get all that done.
TV time out.
Costumes on.
Tim the booze guy in.
The party begins.
Join us Friday.
It's going to be fun.
Jack, can we put out the Christmas list,
the menu here, 3.0?
Yeah, it's got a quadruple check the spelling.
We'll do that.
We'll run it by the boom cat.
He's going to be very excited about the eggnog shaft, I believe.
And we'll be ready to rock on Friday.
You can join us live on the YouTube or on demand, wherever you get your streaming stuff.
And we're looking forward to it.
I'm shopping today.
I'm getting ready for it.
We've got a lot of exciting things coming up in the new year we're excited about,
but nothing can even get started for Christmas until we all do this one show.
Buckle up, shovelers ready.
We're ready.
Shopping list time.
Tomorrow, final adjustments and preparations.
being made. I still have to
get the set here. Don't make too many adjustments
to the booths because the shovelers
buying and you're okay.
That one adjustment we made is no problem.
If you have coffee and you've got the nog shine,
nothing's changed for you. I've just saved
the shoveler, the hassle of making mold wine.
That's all it is. And if she still got all the ingredients,
you can do it Christmas Eve, you're welcome.
She already drank a bunch of that.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is noon already
by the time the show starts.
Oh, she said, and didn't drink.

They can also be rather stressful.

The old Honda Center, which no longer is the terrors
at the Honda Center.
Yeah, it isn't such a threatening spot to go anymore, is it?
Not ominous, no. No, it's kind of like, oh, Joe Louis, the wings,
wow, 25 years. No, that was a while ago too.
They end if they win, guaranteed above 500.
Don't like that.
Merry Christmas, everybody.
See you tomorrow, right?
