what would success look like? If you could somehow be 500, you tread water on your longest and hardest road trip of the year, that's a huge win for this club that nobody thought was going to be in a playoff position on March 7th. I'm talking about Jones Jacobs. Anyways. Yeah. And then on the flip side, as well, you beat Phil. and then can you get one more, I guess.

Dustin Wolf has the second best save percentage and even strength in the NHL. This isn't just good goaltending. This is elite net mining that has kept them for. from a very high pick this year and has placed them in a playoff spot. Dustin Wolf has been that crucial to this team. There's. Hooped.

didn't play Kyle Connor tage Thompson to put him in the islanders have been the islanders for a decade and I don't know who the Brock Lobster is I mean I know who he is but right like no one pays attention to the islanders because they're just the islanders. And then they're in Brooklyn and then they're in Nassau. And then they're somewhere else and lose running things and you're not allowed to have a beard. And it's like, oh, God. Yeah. He's been there forever. He's had some 30 goal seasons, if I'm correct. He's a really good second line center. He doesn't while he with offensive numbers, but he's rock solid there. That's what they've needed. He feels like an Ave. Yeah. He feels like he'll fit in all right there.

as well in there. But the principal pieces are Docker, who I believe was in Ok Tokes Oiler. Yeah. That's a local. Local guy. And, you know, Josh Norris was the guy they got back in the Carlson trade. I don't know if you remember that.

They got the rights to him. He was playing college. And they're like, wow, this Norris kid's really good. Got hurt in college. Got to Ottawa. Got hurt. Got hurt again. Got hurt again.

And there's just a question of, is this guy's shoulder going to be right enough where we can start to see the ceiling because he's been a very good player when he's been healthy. I love this bet for Ottawa. You get the durable guy and arguably the higher ceiling. and I still don't know what Buffalo's doing. I was just going to say, I've got no problem with Norris, and I don't know the other guy and the pick.

according to Elliot Friedman, that Miko Ranton and the Dallas Stars are closing in on an extension. Eight years, 12 million AAV would get the deal done. Now, this was one that happened last night that we were talking about when you came in. Massive deal that took place last night, deals done,

but it's contingent on Renton and signing an extension. And the word initially was, No, we're not, not sure. They also alerted his camp at around 1 a.m. Eastern. And so. I was going to sleep last night. And I'm like, when do these guys shut her down? Like, they got to have a nap, right?

Yeah, I don't know how many naps. Is there a gentleman's agreement? Okay, between the hours of one. There's a trade freeze for like at six Eastern. Yeah. Can we? Pacific's fair game. I don't know that guys are getting more than two, three, four hours last night.

Yeah. Which is perfect. Get them all tired. Dopey. I think Connie probably had a good sleep last night. I doubt Jim Nell or Eric Tulski did. Adams hasn't slept. What did I do?

Well, there's some speculation Stankovans involved who's been their top prospect for a long time and having a really good year minus the finishing his chances part, which probably will even out over time. But again, it's that's not confirmed at all. And word at 1 a.m. last night was they're still grinding here and the word this morning. Grinding on what? Well, Rattanon's

camp and Jim Nill on an extension. All right, let's go. And then the word first thing this morning was Dregor was like, yeah, I don't think Rantin's camp is into it. The Daufer got as good as 12. Now the more recent word is things are heating up again between the stars and Randinan. I thought it was 14. Well, it's 12 times eight and it's Texas. So that probably feels like 14 in Chicago. Remember that one? Say that again. That song.

God bless, Texas. Yeah. 12 seems at 1 a.m. If Ranting and picks up the phone and here's 12 in Dallas, he's probably like, no, I'm going back to bed. Yeah. So what's it going to be? So now you're saying it's getting close again.

And so Dallas has Jamie Ben's money coming off. Tyler Sagan's on IR. Granlin, who they added from San Jose makes decent coin. He's a UFA this summer. So they've got the room, but they're kind of trying to do what we've seen Florida and Tampa do. which is to say, we're in tax-free states, market rate will give you, but after tax,

not on your AV. And so if they give them 12, that's kind of the same as Chicago, we give them 14, and he gets the eighth year, because they'll have them ahead of today's deadline. So to me, that's what they're walking through is. What's the number that gets this done?

Most interesting to me is that the two teams that feel like they're on a collision course in the West, Dallas and Colorado in round one. Would that not be? Incredible. Just natius and the abs against Rantinan and the Stars. Because I think it's the only amount of time for Colorado passes a dinged-up Minnesota Club that's just hanging on for dear life.

And I don't think the Stars can reel in the Jets. Dregor has an extensive back and forth about to end with the Dallas Stars acquiring and extending Miko Rataninan. Not done, but I believe he's settling for the $12 million per as we discussed. There's the $100 million. And that's the money he wouldn't take from Carolina. Similar terms. Carolina's state tax is like four and a half percent personal personal versus zero in Texas.

Now I just got to add the probes. Meter Pro Duo, one in the center, one on the sides, and we're ready to go. 225 on the Timberline XL. And that's it. We're going to go many hours at that temperature. About seven hours later, I wanted to add more injection because during the prep, I added viria consummate. But now that we're sitting at about 100 internal on this leg, make sure the

juice is the same temperature as the internal temp of the meat because if you put cold injection mid-cook it's going to mess with those internal temp we don't want to go backwards so i heated it up pumping up full again because i want to make sure this beef is flavorful so this was about 18 hours later you can see the color some little bit of shrinkage now i want to put it in an aluminum pan this is three full aluminum pans that i put together and made one big one oh no it's an aluminum pan for my boy jesson the most fitting shirt, especially for this massive pan. So put this bed boy in there. I'm going to add a bunch of beef broth because now we want this to brace.

We want all those bones to come out of this cook and make sure this is all shredded beef. So covered it nice and tight, build it up, put it at 275 degrees and went to bed. This was the next day. So it hit 24 hours on the trigger before it even red. So after about an hour rest, we're starting to get into the end result. Yes, there we go, 78 pounds of beef. I definitely redeemed myself from the first cook. The first cook was good, but this one was, look at this.

I don't have to tell you. Everything about this cook was juicy, flavor, the seasonings I put on it, the consummate that went inside. Look at the hip bone come right out. out. So obviously you got to smoke it and then make sure that there's bones pulling out of this almost like a pork. But when you can get the bone separation from the meat and it's not getting hung up, you know you did your job. And so, yeah, just getting into it. The bones were like nonstop in that leg. But look at this. Look at the smoke penetration. Look at the juiciness. This was a fun cook. 24 hours plus an hour, then shredding. This went to a bunch of the friends are ready. Now time to do some stuff with some leftovers. Look at the shredded beef on this cook. It's just insane. And then the finished product right here, look at that bark, juiciness, smoke ring. Down the hatch. That was it. Love me a redemption cook.
