There's the intro.
That means the show is underway.
It's Barn Burner on a Wednesday.
The 14th, halfway through.
Ha!
Not quite.
What the age?
31.
I feel like we had a good show today.
I wish I had that old shirt from the intro.
Lost my backland.
Your backland?
Oh, the homemade jersey, the captain.
Yeah.
Who made that for you?
Oh, it's a limited edition, yeah.
I think the whole family got together and, yeah, did some crafting.
The shoveler got out here.
what's the big print the shirts on.
Oh yeah.
Silk screen, but there's also the
loom. The loom, yes. Good word, Dino.
Thanks, buddy.
Sorry, we'll get you back.
Welcome to it. This show is a prestige.
Pet 365.
I think they, you know what they got here?
Gold.
Baby.
Gold, Jerry, gold. That's right.
That 365 official gaming partner of Barnburner.
Get in the game.
It's never ordinary, whatever the moment.
Did you have the,
I'm guessing the blue jackets would have been home favorites last night.
Bones effect.
Bones.
The bones bump.
That's right.
Bones.
We've got the super chat wide open as always as we go live watching on YouTube,
put in a comment with some money,
some financial contribution,
which will go to the U.S.
End of Calgary, and then we'll put your comments on the show
and we'll talk about it and we'll react.
and the fact that we didn't compile our dough and go all in on the bones bum is yeah it feels like an oversight also dean was about to besmirch the good name of Sean Monaghan which would have guaranteed me any time goal he stopped short we're using our powers for us it was that panthea or whatever on the fourth line I don't know what you've never heard this guy I don't know who there is and I don't know how to say his name yes I love the good pit so I figured if I try and work through that
Congrats on your three point night.
It was just pure laziness and also the lack of organization on my part because I thought the game started at 530.
It did feel like it would be a good night for a 530 for some reason.
I was fully convinced at 512 that I could go on to the old Bet365 and smashed the bones bum and 2 nil.
Oh, oh dear.
The odds change when it's 2.9.
Now the beauty of Bet 365 is you can go in game.
But what started at minus 125 is probably around that minus 300,
minus 400 neighborhood.
Son of a gun.
Yeah, they're not as eager to pay out at that same level once there's a two goals swing.
Yeah, weird that way.
Little did they know it's the worst lead.
It is.
Welcome to the McLeod Law Studios, McLeod Law, LLP, Luscious, luscious people.
Palm trees.
Yeah, that's what I'm dealing with.
Hey, they're in our city.
They've been in our city, they are from our city.
The older I get, and the more, just, you know, the more professional I become, the more, the more, the more, the more.
The more, the more, the more, the trend.
I didn't know real.
That's what it was.
I appreciate face to face.
I don't like the, I have less time for being, can you, I'm going to redirect you here.
And I'm going to put you on hold.
And I, you are third, 303 in line.
Do you want to keep waiting?
Thank you for your patience.
please continue to hold.
Stop it.
I ain't got time for that.
Anybody got time for that?
MacLeoddashlaw.com here on a Wednesday.
Noodles coming up.
Good.
Oh, thank.
Yeah, I need news today.
We got the noodler.
He was there for the Senators' big win last night,
the end of four games skid with a win over Vancouver,
the Canucks guys.
They are putting on a master class.
Almost a perfect night for the RB in the Inverse standings.
Canucks the fly in the audience.
I almost wonder,
as we look at the
the RB, the re-biggle, if
Vancouver's just kind of, they're so elite, they've
taken themselves out of the conversation. It's almost like
if you were looking at the top of the standings, what Colorado's
done. There's just a really big gap
between Colorado and the second best. It feels
the same with Vancouver and the rest of the
So they traded their best.
Yeah, they sure did. Yeah, they've gone full
commit. Oh, six and two in their last eight.
Shots were 3211 after
two periods of play.
30 to 11
I'm wondering as a coach
Or just because
Oh footster
Yeah because I played against
Bad damn
Whether this is great
Foot daddy in a way right
Like there's a lot of stress
Jack's dad
There's a lot of stress
coaching in the league right
There is a lot of stress
I would think there's a lot of stress right yeah
So there'd be a lot of like Keith right now
Is sweating it out in Jersey
Yeah a lot of
Sleepless sweat
What are we going to do to push the butt?
What are the lines going to be?
What's got to be going?
Yeah.
Were they going to fire me?
I got like three years left to my deal.
There's no expectation.
The only thing would be is his first head coaching job.
Be like, I don't want this to affect my getting another head coaching job.
But this is a.
Yeah.
But I think people see what it is.
He's 60.
How many head coaching jobs is he going to get?
He's not 60.
It's not 65.
They're not 60.
I think all you'd have to do is.
Layout.
the roster. Like, now, Mr. Foot, we're looking over your resume here. Now, what happened in
Vancouver? You just, here's the roster. Yeah, here's, um, oh, was that, were you there for that?
Jeez, that was that year. Oh, yeah, never mind that. Uh, the flames. Do not win last night. Bones.
Big winner on his, uh, on his debut. Off a boat. Off a boat. Yeah, that was a great anecdote.
I'm on a boat. Yeah. I was on a boat that day.
When he got the call, hey, do you want to, uh, that's how it works.
Like I.
Ray, you got to get it to the center circle.
Oh, shit is so cushy once you get in there.
You just got to get in.
Like they hadn't had discussions.
There hadn't been any.
Hey, dude.
If I guess this guy, are you at all interested?
Hey, we'll see, that's the thing.
That's why I kind of thought.
Hey dude.
I kind of call horse bleep on that.
You think it happened?
Oh, there's some.
There was no communication.
No text.
No idea.
They've been watering that plant for a while, you think?
I believe it would have to have been.
I would make sense to me.
The jackets didn't wake up Monday morning or whatever it was.
The whole,
I'm out of heck with it.
I'm going to can this.
Are we in the bottom five?
What?
This is unbelievable.
This whole,
no,
I think that it makes for a nice story.
Not saying it isn't true.
But there's more to the story.
Hey,
Bones,
in the event.
Mm-hmm.
that's something to get you maybe what do you think oh oh i do yeah
all right well you be ready yeah
it's like well i didn't think i'm gonna out of that i'm on a boat
i can use it over here is i mean old de mintinth you like that song yeah good song
see first i was on a boat that day that's not how it goes at all
yeah the words right um manna manna na manna na ma na ma na um ba na um ba na uh uh uh uh uh
Boone Jenner.
Boone.
Boone.
Game winner.
Minute 34 left.
Rope.
Save the night. Then an empty netter.
Bless you, Boone.
He got two.
And coil had two.
Charlie Steaming Coil.
For age in the summer.
Trade them.
They're not a great team.
No.
They're actually pretty big and they're young guys I kind of like, but they're not there.
No.
No.
I don't know who their defensemen are still.
and I watched last night.
Werensky's damn good
and everyone else
you're like, who'd at?
Yeah, there's some guys.
So Christensen.
Is that the guy that played?
No, that was Eric about
Jake Christensen.
I'm going to say it again.
Yeah, I'm in the organization.
Yeah, let's give up on.
We don't need this guy around.
Oh, you shit.
Dumbies.
Who took the stick to the face, man?
Proverro.
It's a puck.
That was a puck.
Thank you.
I was doing the fasting thing,
so I may have had a gummy
and watched half a lot
and then tried to watch it again.
My order of things is just.
Gummy.
I've been living amongst some people that are doing this fasting thing.
I'm not sure.
Everyone's cut out for it.
Well, and so let's.
All right.
Let everyone in.
Last week, we all did, well, Jack, Rhett and I did the fast.
The Sunday night live stream and then Monday we didn't eat.
Tuesday, we got back on the food.
You were going to join us this week.
Ret and Jack were going to do Monday.
Then it was Tuesday because Jack had to hammer a slice of pizza for karma for the Steelers.
Right.
But it does affect somebody when you don't eat for 40 hours.
How are you your complaint?
Well, I'm just, I'm watching people and I'm around people that are that are doing the fasting thing.
Outside of this room or just short and temperate?
Oh, a little, yeah, one outside of this room.
Really?
Yeah.
Okay.
And three inside.
And see, I think you're well into it now.
That's a grizzled vet here.
Yeah.
But there was a time.
I remember you were, you would say, I need to eat today.
Yeah.
Because I'm going to, I'm just, I know I'm going to be no fun.
End this show.
I'm going to be no fun for the people that live in my house.
And so yeah, it's, I wouldn't say it's necessarily irritability.
And I do think it's something that you get over, but I think dipping that toe in.
I don't think all of you should do it all at the same time.
Are you still with us or are you?
No, I didn't do it this week.
Not for me.
Are you going to do it or is probably not?
Okay.
Because that was the vibe I was getting yesterday.
I'm like, I don't know that Dean is going to do this.
I thought last.
Which is fine.
Last week the vibe was he was good.
I was going to, but, you know, then he got hungry.
Kind of hungry.
Don't like this feeling.
I don't like this feeling anymore.
I do like soup.
Look at this.
Beautiful.
Anyway, guys, let's get back to it.
The flames, they've lost five of six.
Stubbed their toe.
Stub?
Yep, stubby.
Did you snub your toe or stubbed?
snubbed a few people, but.
Have you ever drank beer from a stubby,
Jeff?
Oh.
I don't even know what that means.
Oh, God, he's young.
He was probably dead when stubbies.
Yeah, you'd have been dead when studies.
Yeah, but there's stubbies now.
Yeah, but he wouldn't know their stubs.
You know, in the U.S., they have stubby the Coors Banquet.
The short, it's not a long neck, uh, short, short,
your bottles.
It's almost like a jar with a tiny bowl.
Yeah.
Let go my.
All beer used to come in stubbyes.
Jack.
At one point in time.
Why do they switch it?
You drink better out of the long neck.
A little more air.
Less bubbly.
I don't know.
Anyway,
they get three power play goals.
Excellent.
Holy shys up.
First time since March of 24.
It's not that long ago.
I mean, it's almost two years.
The oilers do that like twice a week, but again,
different rosters.
Absolutely not.
Worth noting, first time in the long time.
And we had marks of our years.
well that's right
that's true
yeah
Farvo was running the power play
until back
let's get into
he's not fast
he's a feel bad
we're here talking
about all kinds of stuff
I forgot about our insider
he's sitting there
is he waiting
yeah he's sitting there waiting
and he's on
and he's on the crystal waters
plumbing and heating
insider hotline
we love crystal waters
they have been in all of our homes
they have made
our lives better
they've made our lives
more comfortable
and more
just easier
efficient
warmer when we're cold, cooler when we're hot.
Saving us money, more efficient.
Right. Everything.
Our lives are better because of Crystal Waters plumbing and heating.
Something goes the wrong way with your furnace, hot water heater, your AC.
Crystal Waters.
Crystal Waters plumbing and heating.
First thing that pops into your head.
Crystal Clear Calgary.com, 403, 219, 4100 to the Crystal Waters Insider Hotline.
We go and say hi to Jamie McClendidded.
He is the noodeler.
Nudes?
What's going on?
What's with the seriousness of the ad?
Like we had the football game on and we had to watch the promotions or ad for your show.
Every commercial break, just hammering us over the head with overdraft.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
No, like that.
Then promo for overdrive, but I think you missed the second half.
It was.
Oh, noodles.
Oh, Joe.
Stevo.
And there's,
whoever there's,
I've never,
I've never,
I have never seen what you're talking about.
I have no idea.
what you're done. They're pushing hard in Alberta. That's all you need to know.
Trying to take our lunch money here.
Very nice of them. I'm just finishing my fast, so I'm good.
How is your, yeah, how's your fast going?
110 days. I keep a track of it, but I only do eight on, 16 on. So that's amazing.
And they're not too fast.
16 days. For 16 hours.
Yeah. That's it. It's not complicated. It's just you eat for eight. It's just you eat for
hours and then you fast for 16 and it's it's fine i don't need to do these two-day things and then
where you're hallucinating and your body's pulling into weird that's the psilocybin that has nothing to do
with the fast it's cheaper than acid do it's telling you right now it's 16 8 is is perfect for me i enjoy it
so been doing it now 110 days and you look great i love your t-shirt isn't that cool awesome
fan to me yeah you're not a liar you're no liar i'm a bit of a liar you're a fan yeah
i'm a fan there's other people that lie about it and say i don't like them and then they sing every
word to every song they hear on their radio so that's a liar jack would be one of those guys no jack's a
fan i'm a liar jack and his buddies are fans he's big fans i've seen it in the flesh yeah you've
seen it now where do we want to start i don't want to talk hockey or sports with this guy today i just want to
life okay some of the stuff we're talking our life insider can you can you handle the 168
when he'd been drinking that's where it comes in it gets tougher you know what to be honest I
haven't I've drank once maybe in the last like a couple months at a Monday night with
our buddy Ryan Leslie and and Moby Moby Mike Dick will be dick and three of us went
out here in Toronto and had a, you know, kind of around Christmas, had a little Christmas drink and
stuff. So yeah, it was fine because if you're drinking, you know, I didn't eat that night.
I did feel like garbage the next day. I will say, like I was a guy who never used to get
hung over. And the next day, I was like, oh, I'm feeling rough. Like it's been a minute.
And I will be in Nashville next week. And I'm worried about it because I, what day? Schedule.
Let me see. I fly in.
I think it's the 21st I fly in.
I'm there the 22nd and fly back the 23rd.
I'm supposed to play that the Shorzy game on the 20 seconds.
So I don't know if I can come.
Oh, it's good.
I know what I'm going to do.
I've already got my routine laid out.
I'm going to start at Legends,
a little bucket of beer right on the corner there.
Yep.
Late lunch, you know, whatever that looks like.
Can I hang out?
I do.
I believe I think I'm doing overdrive.
I'm not sure if I'm doing that.
day. If I'm not, then I'm just going to continue and power through. And then I'm going to
slide over to the stage. And then I'm going to go to Tutsis.
Boom. Boom. You get a cross path.
Go past Tutsis and then back and up at Tutsi. And I was going to say, if you need,
if you do need that food, Roberts, which is right there. Roberts Western world has the fried
bologna and Papp's blue ribbon for five bucks. So the recession buster they call it? Yeah.
Very good, yeah.
And I'm not going to be one of those guys who rides one of those moving.
Oh, no.
The moving bar with a bicycle.
That's a lot of that.
Can I ask you for your Mount Rushmore of teammates for a Nashville trip?
You get four guys.
You're going to Nashville.
Any teammates you played with had to be a team.
I'm staring at one of them.
I'm not allowed to be on it because I'm a, it's, it's a history.
What's the criteria?
Any teammate going to Nashville, whatever he wants.
Mika Kepersoff
Yes
I'm sure
Rhett can't be on it
Yeah he's in that's two
You got two more I can't go on it
I want some people I want some guys
Back in the day
On the trip
Let's just assume that Red
He's gonna take it five then
He's gonna show up yeah
That's gonna show up
Cameo from Red
Oh
Robin Regere
Wow no those I don't
I'm not buying it
I get it it's Calgary Radio
It's not to be some
dusters in Long Island
when you started that were real
gohardt. Oh, I'm not saying
they're not. I'm saying those are the guys
I want riding shotgun and who I've
done it most. Yeah.
Yeah. So the
two guys have mentioned is
Rhett Warner, Robert Regear, Mika Kippersault. I would put
Iggy in there as well because Iggy's a fun time.
Like we argue and
we still stage five.
I was going to say maybe because this is
you know, it's your buddies. Who would be the
guys that you're, I got to keep this in check.
Because any one of these wingnots could go sideways.
You need a wild card.
Like this.
Like who are the guys like, we're going out, but it might not.
You know I on that?
The Donno, the,
Sean Donovan.
Oh, wow.
All flames.
God, you know where it's reds bow.
You know, it's funny, though, the reason why I'm bringing it up,
I ran into Chris Clark the other day.
I was doing the Columbus game and Clarkie is in management for Columbus.
And it was just amazing to see that face because he has a change.
He's still in great shape, glasses, everything, like just looks like you can still play.
But he's in, he's on the other side now.
It's just great to see.
Okay, I'll give you one.
Berge.
Eric Lindross.
Ooh, that's a good poll.
I went out with him a few times in New York.
That guy is, is a serious man.
Like I lost
I heard that too.
Terry Karkner was good buddies with them
when they played in Philly
together and then I was roommates with
Karks in Florida and he used to tell me
Yeah.
Like there's, you know, another one
I'll give you the dark course
which are sleeper bet
sleeper pick,
Jammer Mayors. So I'm a
Jammer in St. Louis. Also
he was in Calgary when I was in
the coaching side.
Jammer's an unbelievable human and
great.
a lot of fun to go have a few beers with.
I'll go back to my St. Louis days.
It was Chris Pronger and Mark McGuire.
We had a nice little trio there.
That's a name drop for you.
Yes.
How about this one?
This would have been, what, 98?
Prongs used to joke that I was the million-dollar bartender
because I was the backup,
but I was the guy who could spread the stage.
Prongs was winning the heart,
and Mac was hitting 70.
Yeah, that would have been the era.
Yeah.
And I'm the only one who could talk.
That's the brazier thing.
We had a lot of fun about that.
I don't know.
There's a Mount Rushmore, and then maybe there's a little mini sunshine hill of guys that
you would love to.
But I've been blessed to play with a lot of great teammates.
And, you know, another one that I loved spending time with, not a lot of time with,
because he was just out of my league was Brett Hall.
Brett Hall was so good to me in St. Louis.
Like, I was always alone at Christmas,
and Christmas Eve was his night.
So he had kids and stuff,
and I believe he's divorced and that.
Christmas Eve, I would go with him
through a bar called the Cheshire.
It was unbelievable.
And he was like, hey, come with me.
Like, I got the invite from the great Brett Hall.
So, you know, there's some,
real special teammates along the way. But the guys I named, you know, the Red, the Robbins,
the Kippers, guys like that, lifelong friends that had a lot of fun with. And I would want to be
riding shotgun with them anytime. It's a hell of a taxi squad. It's got Lindross Pronger and
hole. Like, that's nice. That's the black aces for you. That's really good.
That's the crazy part. Their team B.
Yeah, that is crazy. We were saying yesterday, not to sorry, right, not to pivot,
talk a little bit.
Sorry.
Bones back behind the bench.
He's coaching the Columbus Blue Jackets.
I think they showed the stat between his days as an assistant or a head coach or associate
coach.
84.
No one's been doing it more than he has.
2,900.
It's like it's the noodles effect.
Everybody loves them.
It's a good guy.
Any team in the NHL would love to have Rick Bonas in their midst and Columbus is the latest.
Well, and I had Bones in the island, you know, Bones is a great guy, his son, Ryan Bones was about with Ottawa senators.
Like to me, there's, there's so many ties to that family.
And if you look at it, I heard you guys before I came on talking about it.
Like, it didn't make sense for me.
There's got to be more to that story.
Like, I just, I don't think they wake up and go, we just, the coach is the problem.
You're like, okay, I like there.
I actually think they've got a lot of good young players there.
like a lot. I like the goaltender.
You know, I think
Fantasilly is going to be a player.
Like I think you look at some of their players
that Marchenko is a good player.
Zach Werensky is one of the best in the league.
Defenseman. So you look at it. They've got
some pieces. Something doesn't drive there
for them to just make a change right now.
So it's probably a bigger picture.
They're like, okay, let's get through the next 40
games with a guy who's
really well liked.
And then let's reset in the summer.
Bones is 70 years old.
I don't think it's a long-term fix there.
What he is is you come in.
He helps with the culture.
He helps with everything.
Bones is, to me, he's a versatile guy.
He can adapt to any situation.
And I think obviously it's a great hire just knowing the reputation or the, you know,
the reputation of Rick Bones.
He's a good coach and really well liked.
I don't know if they'll go on this magical run,
but I think it's more about just getting the organization.
You know, if there was something going on behind the scenes we're not privy to, maybe in the right direction.
He's like that interim president at a business that's going to come in, figure out where the holes are and what to do.
And then report back to the board and say, okay, this is what you need.
He's a fixture.
He's Mr. Wolfe.
He comes in.
That's right.
He's the wolf.
And you move on.
And then he has said, and it wouldn't surprise me if they move him into, you know, I'm sure he's close with Don Waddell into like management, a management.
an advisor role.
Sure.
Kind of like Jacques Martin did in Ottawa a couple years ago.
You bring in Jock, Jock finished out the season, you move him up, and he's a senior advisor.
I think Bones would be great in that scenario too.
The Jackets beat the Flames last night.
It's a tie game, a minute 34 left, and McKenzie Wigger, who has had, it's been a disastrous
season.
I don't think that's overstating it.
He was a guy who in the summer was at the Olympic orientation camp.
Like he was, this guy is a couple years ago with 20 goals.
And there's just, it has been a, a disaster for him this year.
Anyway, he tries to get the puck out and can't.
And then it's in the back of his net.
And they showed the footage.
And I don't know that it made the highlight packages, but he was just kind of sitting there.
The jacket.
Staring into space and wearing it.
And it's not the first time, but it's, it's the latest and the worst.
What have you?
I don't know how close you're watching.
watching, but for for McKenzie Weger, it has been, it's been the worst of times.
It has. And I think it's, this is a guy with tremendous pride in his game. And you're right.
You know, on the short list for Team Canada, a guy that we all know when he's at the top of his game,
what he's capable of. And I think he has a standard for himself. And then when we don't see it,
you're like, what's missing here? The one thing that's been missing when I've watched and I've watched
almost every minute they played this year,
the consistency from game to game with him.
I'll see play.
It's wild within a game you see elite plays
and then plays you're like,
where did that come from?
And, you know,
the inconsistency almost from shift to shift.
And I don't think that's,
hey, I'm having a bad season.
I think it's more like,
hey, I don't think it's a lost focus thing.
It's more just,
I haven't seen these wild swings within a game.
When guys are having off seasons, you go, they just can't put it together.
This guy will put it together and make a good play.
And then all of a sudden, there's maybe a poor play to follow it up.
So I don't know what's going on, but I don't know from the nature of the position,
Wret, when you make a mistake or critical one near the end of the game, I think you're wearing it.
you know, I've obviously allowed bad goals and, you know, crushing goals near the end of the game where you know, that's it.
Like, I've cost them two points or cost them a game or something.
That's kind of what you're talking about.
That would be the look is like, man, you know, we've at least had a point here, maybe go for a second.
And now we're, you know, we've given up an empty netter.
I like that he's, it sounds bad, but it means he cares.
Yeah, he does.
You watch that clip and him sitting on the bench.
You're like, well, there's a guy that cares at least.
He's not just like.
That's why I started my comments, guys, with the word pride.
Like that guy is a gamer.
Like regardless of what you, you know, see out of him, I think he comes to play every night.
I think he prepares.
I think he's a pro.
I don't think he's, well, I don't know.
I haven't asked, but I would think he's like really coachable.
I don't think he's a guy who thinks he's a no-it-all and kind of a hero.
I think he would be a terrific guy to have in the room.
I've only met him a few times.
And what I've met and what I've experienced, he's an awesome guy.
He's the type of guy you want in your organization in your room.
I think he's fantastic.
But mistakes are mistakes.
And Rhett, I think you nail it where he says, you know, he's wearing it because he cares.
He's not sitting there going, you know, or maybe trying.
We see a lot of athletes that try and point to the excuses.
Come on.
This could happen.
No, wear it and move on.
That's a pro.
It doesn't feel like get me out of here, guy.
It feels like a, God, this is killing me.
I need to be better.
I can't make that mistake vibes.
Because I saw one of the group chats, someone was like, he wants to get out of here.
I think it's the opposite.
I think he cares a lot.
This is killing.
I think he cares about winning and losing, which matters.
And I don't, I think if he was playing for Dallas,
just because Dallas came into my head, it would be the same thing.
I will ask you this,
a more in-depth question.
All right,
you've got Weger,
you've got Anderson,
you've got cadre,
you've got Coleman,
Backland's not for sure not going anywhere.
Right.
How to set up the question.
How many guys do you need
as veteran presence
in a room to develop
younger skilled players?
Because it's not zero,
but it's how much is it?
Like, you know, Columbus.
I'm looking at Columbus.
You know, and I was even thinking about you and your career, you're here.
And not that it was a young upstart team,
but the year before I got here, you guys missed the playoffs again.
Yeah.
And I was trying to remember back who was the veteran presence that,
and we've looked at Edmonton, they bring a bunch of kids,
and they get criticized for not having veteran presence.
Chicago, I think.
I don't know if they were criticism.
I think you know what I'm trying to get at.
Exactly what you're saying is like who do you keep if you're
there's a tipping point in far as how many.
Weger would be highly sought after because of what he is.
Anderson highly sought after because of what he is.
Codry.
Coleman.
All those guys that are your veteran leaders are highly sought after because of what
they are.
How many can you give up?
and because it's the same if we just use Anderson as the example
you're looking at Anderson you're saying our window to win
doesn't align with maybe his and he's our best asset to trade
to get the most in return
contracts up all that but if you said I'm trading weaker
I'll tell you what there's you're going to get something back
I think all four players that you mentioned
I think if I was an opposing manager
any team that that feels that they are you know on the cost board needs held i'd be calling and i'd
be asking about all four of those players because of what you just said coleman's one he's versatile
you know cadry's one and he's more skilled and versatile you know can play hiring your lineup
anderson can run a power play in a top pairing weger can run a power play in a top pairing yes we
We talked about mistakes, but this guy's still a hell of a player.
All four of those players, Connie's phone should be ringing off the hook going,
what's it going to take.
Now, I understand what you're saying, Red.
Breck's going to need a mentor.
Brex's going to need, you know, if it's coffee, you need Charlie Huddy.
If it's Eric Carlson, you need Mark Matha.
You know, you do need somebody that is going to show him the way.
Now, I don't know.
this is why I'm not in Connie's chair.
I don't know if you're looking at,
if you get great offers for all four of those players,
you have to look at accepting them or at least, you know, entertaining them.
And you're not just going, well, love Uyghur, love Anderson,
and he'd be great for Perek, but, you know,
what you can find mentors, you can find guys that can develop into that role
or be in that role along with Parak, along with the Rye.
So I think if you're looking at the four players and going,
well, you can't move away from all four because of, you know,
the dressing room or the dynamic or the leadership role,
I still think there's shorter-term contracts that can be had in the off-season.
Kind of like what Chicago did.
Now, they missed on a couple.
Corey Perry, they missed on.
We don't know that I don't care, but the story,
Corey Perry didn't fit in in Chicago.
Okay.
Nick Falino did.
But then they went and got Tyler Bertuzi
and they went and added some players
that were actually like good players
going to grow with the group, not just these
veteran guys near the end of their contract
to be good mentors.
So I think there's a fine balance
in there where if you're looking at all four,
and I don't know if you're going to move all four
or move two of the four or whatever,
but those four players have tremendous value,
I think throughout the league.
And you have to, you know,
if you're going to trade,
two or three of them, the players that stay, if it's a guy like Weiger that stays,
you know that he's invested and he's going to be a great mentor and be a great leader and
all of that type of stuff.
Nazim Kadri, I believe, no move clause, right?
10 teams.
Right?
Some like that, yeah.
Yeah, so he controls a lot of what his situation is.
Rasmus Anderson controls.
So I think Blake Coleman, what's his no move situation?
I don't know if he's got.
That's a good question.
It would surprise me if there was some form of a list.
I mean, this guy signed a pretty good deal coming over.
You don't want to jam him up.
But I think at the end of the day, my point is, I understand what you're saying,
Rhett.
You want to still keep leaders in the room and guys who can contribute and all that.
But I also think that the room that you're building, you can bring in some players
either be a trade in those trades or in free agency,
maybe a little overpay for or on term for a guy that may be.
has two years left and you give him three.
The Michael Backwin situation,
backs isn't going anywhere,
but maybe other players like that,
it could be tremendous mentors and leaders
if you move away from the players we're talking about.
Coleman's got a 10 team,
no trade,
that's it.
He's got some control,
not all,
and it's similar with Naz.
I think it went from full to partial this year.
Yeah.
It is fascinating.
They're trying to thread the needle here, right?
They're trying to be competitive,
have good culture,
and at the same time,
bringing younger players,
not easy.
You're right.
And here's why,
it makes me think more.
I did the Ottawa-Vancover game last night.
Vancouver is open for business, right?
And Jimmy Rutherford said,
you know, we're kind of listening to everybody,
but if we're doing a hybrid rebuild,
you know, you still have to keep players, he said.
Now, what does that mean?
Does it mean that, you know,
you're keeping Patterson because you can't move 11-5?
Or is it you're keeping,
you're not going to keep them
and you're going to eat some of a salary
and make him a $7 million player
or $8 million player that somebody covets.
I look at Heronik.
I look at Jake DeBrusco just signed there.
I look at, I believe there's a no-move clause
that kicks in for a Thatcher Dempcoe this summer.
Does somebody want to take four years at $8 million?
Or do you make him a cheaper goaltender and move them?
Lots of decisions to be made.
I'm thinking the same situation with Calgary.
There's assets there,
but you've got to decide which one's,
you keep within your culture and help the growth of the group,
but also if you can get a king's ransom for some of these guys,
you may be better turn him over.
Are you,
I want to ask you about Demko because he's hurt again, right?
Yes.
And, but I also want to,
are you concerned at all?
If you're the flames,
should you be concerned at all that teams like Vancouver are out there?
Can you,
St. Louis is going to be open for business.
I'm guessing.
The Rangers look like they.
might be open for business.
The ducks have faltered mightily
and possibly have some veterans
that might be available.
Are there enough buyers
for these returns
that we're talking about?
The only reason I would say
is I would say take a look at the Eastern Conference
standings.
And then talk, you know, if you got all those
owners sitting in a room
and you got, you know,
Ottawa is what,
five points back,
six points back with their win last night.
I didn't check the standings here.
I should have.
But I mean,
Ottawa thinks they're a playoff team.
Florida teams are a playoff team.
Buffalo now thinks there a playoff team.
Like I think,
Toronto thinks they're a playoff team.
Like all of these teams, Montreal,
Boston, whether you're in or you're out.
Now, it's so lumped up.
Those managers might be going,
what is our team lacking?
Because right now, the one thing I've noticed,
and I've seen every team play live,
this year, including Colorado the other day.
Every team probably still believes they need one, at least minimum one piece, minimum.
And those are the teams that I think that are, that they believe they're playoff teams.
There's no team, there's no perfect team out there.
So there's teams with warts.
So I think you've got teams in the east definitely that believe that they're a player away
from getting that next step.
Maybe those extra four points that will get us into the playoffs.
out west, you know, team up north, I think whether they've got the cap space or not,
they're probably searching because the Amandhiopani thing hasn't really worked out.
And, you know, Frederick has been in and out of the lineup.
They're still working at stuff.
Anaheim is an interesting one.
Is Anaheim played with House money early on in the new coach bump and going,
hey, we're coming back to reality.
We might sell a piece off or two and let this team, either they make it organically or they don't.
But do you think Seattle's sitting there?
Utah. I think Utah's a buyer. I've watched that team live last week and then again last night.
That team's good. They need a backup goaltender who is an upgrade on Vanichick because the other
guy has played all. I think he leads the league and wins for gold. He does. Yeah, he's got 21, I think.
He's been unbelievable. Utah is one or two players away from being a playoff team and maybe a little bit
of a dangerous team because they got young talent there.
And they've got nothing but currency and cap space, I believe, because they've got
picks and prospects and all of that.
So that might be a team that you're going, didn't see that one coming, but really you
should see that as a team that could be or should be proactive.
Seattle, the same thing.
Ronnie Francis probably got to answer to an owner going, what are we doing here?
Yeah.
Made it, didn't make it.
Now are we trying to?
So I think there's a lot more teams, RET, coming back to, you know, what is
LA doing?
I got, you know,
your crumblings, like, you know,
is the coach in hot water, is the team,
you know, they trade to know, but like,
like to me, Kenny Holland has to be
proactive there if they're going to try and jump in.
So there's more teams,
I think, than you think, that are
more interested in players
than not.
Quickly back to Anaheim, I believe
it's the walk year for Pat Verbeek.
Does that change anything? Because
expectations suddenly get high
when you are in a playoff spot at Christmas,
now they're on a skid.
They also have the expiring contracts of guys like Goudis and Truba and a few others.
Like I find that fascinating because if they said this is it, this is our guy and he's got an extension,
I think it's easy to say sell.
But if you don't have a deal or you're still trying to prove it, like that's a bit of a wrinkle.
It is.
It is a wrinkle when you know, you're, what do they call, lame duck when you're,
yeah, dup GM, lame duck coach, all of that type of stuff.
because does your individual interest trump maybe the greater good of the organization?
The good managers, it doesn't.
Because they stay the course.
They don't get desperate.
Their communication with the owner or whoever they're dealing with the president,
they said this is what the organization needs at this time,
whether you want me or the next guy, if you're confident in your ability.
But again, I don't know the nature of how Pat Burb,
wants to be a manager, but it looks like he's gone through the pain.
It looks like he, I mean, he's, they drafted and developed.
They're not a great job there.
I'm shocked that you've told me that he doesn't have a contract.
There should be, you know how much, you know how crabby we were that Connie didn't have one?
Yeah.
That guy should have a contract too.
It's just, it's such a quiet market.
It might be in a desk like we were told Connie's was or wasn't.
But it is, it's been a really tough road.
And now you're getting Seneca.
now you see Leo Carlson and Roger McQueen's of Providence and you've got this great young
decor with some guys that had come out of nowhere to play well like LeCone.
That's good.
He's a player.
They've got some real.
And I had a good chat with Joel Quinville when I was out there.
And Q, you know, he, it was funny because they were on a high.
And he said, uh, it's fun, Jamie.
But he said like, he knew.
Like it was, it was almost like he was like, this is coming.
A market correction is coming.
Like he called it too.
he just said, hey, we can score, but we can't defend.
And that was really what the issue was, is they were outscoring their issue,
7-6, and they had some high-scoring games and stuff.
There's another team, San Jose, what are they going to do?
Do you add, or do you just go with what you have?
So that's the interesting part, right, coming back to, you know,
if you view Calgary as a seller and Vancouver as a seller and all these, you know,
St. Louis's, there's going to be no shortage of teams calling.
It's another one of those things you think about it.
But if teams were sending their scouts, hey, we're going to wrap in that road trip.
They've got Columbus, Chicago, go out there and watch the flames and see Anderson.
Oh, man, 20 minutes, gets into a fight, scores a goal.
He is demonstrating what he's all about right now.
Could be a career year, no?
He's been great.
Yeah.
I laugh about the scouting.
Go watch them.
We all watch the games.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
There is different.
It is a difference between being in the building and getting a feeling and watching the guy on the bench
and how he interacts with his teammates and stuff.
Don't get me wrong.
I'm not taking a shot at scouts.
I've been one.
Why do you hate scouts?
Seriously.
I don't hate scouts.
I love them.
Is Rob Reyes, what's the problem here?
Yeah, exactly.
No, my point being is that it's always, I always laugh or it's like, we'll go, go watch this guy.
Like, we all, we all, a lot of these guys have the access to Rinknad and everything.
You can watch every shift of every player any time.
time you want. So it's more the intangibles that you're sniffing around on or if you're a scout,
you start talking to people around the building, all of that type of stuff. I run into scouts every
night. I see them at the at the rink. Do they know how much you hate them? Yeah. What are you talking about?
How you shit talk all these scouts. I'm surprised they even interact with you guys. If I get barn burn burn
again, wait and rock see my brain. Boom burn. Well, I mean, hey, you know, I'm okay. I just have one on
Ottawa to finish, but finish.
I was going to say, be careful out in Ottawa.
I hear there's things, and I know you're on the road a lot.
Well, yeah, like, there's clearly a big off-ice distraction.
I don't care for the rumor, but just what is the viber on the team?
And like, does this have the potential to derail what was a very promising season?
I mean, they make playoffs, they get down 3-0, they fight against the Leafs, and you're
like, they're arriving.
This is a really good young team.
They continue to bolster the roster.
Where are they at?
Well, you're actually the guy to help.
with the answer, Pender, is because you know the numbers.
So last night, we ran in our opening their expected goals for
and they're expected goals against.
And they're near the top of the league.
I believe they were, in the sport logic, they were seventh.
And I think money puck, they were like second.
So depending on what site you go to, but let's just call it.
Let's saw it up.
They're near the top of the league and expected goals,
meaning they create a lot of chances.
They just haven't been able.
they've been snake-bitten at the wrong times,
and unfortunately, they generate the chances,
but they're not scoring at the right time.
Expect the goals against,
I believe they were won,
meaning they don't give up anything,
but they're not getting the saves at the right time.
So they're comfortable.
The weird part is, if you talk to people around there,
they're like, what else do you want from us?
We need a save.
We need the right play.
We need our power play to click.
Their penalty kill is 31st, 31st in the National Hockey League.
that needs to be better.
But when you look at it and you dive into the numbers,
his team isn't far off.
But Marylandan hasn't been the Marylandin that was 8, 3, and 3 last year with three
shutouts.
Allmark, obviously, it's well documented.
He's away from the team.
Don't know the nature of it.
Don't care at this point because I'm not going to get into that.
It's more about they need a goaltender, a starting goaltender,
to give them $8 million worth of goaltending.
And that's what they're paying him, 8.25 or whatever.
They don't have it.
They have a Hunter Shepherd.
This guy, look up his Hockey DB pictures.
They're unbelievable.
This guy's got this hair.
He's like 5-11.
He's a grit grinder.
They go and they sign James Reimer.
James Reimer, I think, might be available tonight to them.
If not, it's on the weekend.
So you could see what's going on there.
And yes, the off-ice distraction, all of that.
I've said this.
And I'll say that I'm, I'm,
getting long-winded, but I said it in Toronto, too.
When Toronto was going through their struggles,
it was, oh, tree built a bad team.
Oh, Chief can't coach anymore.
And Austin Matthews, you've got to trade him, all this stuff.
All of a sudden, they're 8-0-2 in their last 10 leading into last night.
And I said, well, Chief can coach now all of a sudden,
like the team that tree-built is,
I was always saying, the players need to play better.
And I'm sorry, that's what I'm going to lay on anybody,
is Ottawa, if they were six in one in their last seven,
and there was some online rumblings,
people would be like, who cares, they're winning.
But when they lost four in a row and lost six of seven and all of that,
people are going, there's a distraction here.
The team looks off, this looks off, this looks off, the goalie's not available.
So there's just chaos tied to it.
So that's kind of what, it's a long-winded explanation.
But I come back to, best players have to be your best players,
if you're going to win in this league.
And, you know, Tim Stutzelah had a 13-game point streak,
and he's gone dry.
He hasn't scored in seven now.
And Brady Kachuk has struggled.
And you look at all these guys that are trying to get their game back in order,
and then you've got the online distraction.
There's just so much going on.
And then you need a save at the right time.
Last night, it came together for them against Vancouver.
We'll see what they got against the Rangers tonight.
I kind of get it now.
You hear how he trots out the numbers and expected goals.
It's like the stats guys hate scouts.
It's like, oh, you need the eye test.
What are your eyes telling you?
I get it.
I can see why you hate scouts.
My first role in my first year out of the league,
Darryl Sutter made me a scout.
He made me a goalie advisor, all of these things.
I was on the scout scouting staff,
but I also ended up on Keenan staff near the end of the year.
The point being is I love the scouts.
I just always wondered when the comments have,
go see this guy. We see them every night. You know what I mean? Like we see them. You and I see.
It's not very what Rasmus Anderson is. You're paying attention to last day. That's my point.
If you told me like, hey, go watch Rasmus Anderson. I'm like, I've watched him for several years.
I know exactly what that guy's capable of. Now, if you want me to go sniff around on him and say,
would it be a good fit for the dressing room and what's, you know, what's his deal and all of that?
Different story. And I think you'd be great for a lot of dressing rooms, including Calgary Flames.
You know, I love him as a player.
So good player.
Great player.
All right, fella.
I got to go.
See you.
Thank you.
Good to talk to you.
Thanks for having.
Rhett, you're on my Mount Rushmore.
I'll see you in Nashville.
I'll be there.
Warner, Kippersaw for gear, Gingla.
Love it.
Peter Handler, Rushmore.
Got have Peter Handlin there.
He's a grinder.
Got to have all the,
all the classic people.
You know, like, Donald.
We had a great team in 04.
That's for all our kids.
Great team.

you know it uh ottawa like james makes a great point like if we talk about teams on hot
districts or colds rick you just look at the goalie like look at the flames in december like wolf
was like a 950 you look at you know florida as an eight seed in the playoffs and bob hangs the
550 yeah you got to the final like goalie is usually the easiest answer and we try to build in all
these narratives and what's actually out it's usually a lot of goalie but when you go out and
signed James Reimer, that reeks of huge desperation.
Do you want to guess how many games of professional hockey he's played this year?
Zero.
Two at the Spangler Cup and one in the American League.
Yeah, like it's not quite Phil Rivers, but you're tiptoe in there.
Well, and Phil at least had the high ceiling in his heyday, right?
Phil was a pro bowl.
He also doesn't.
James Reimer also does not swear.
Right.
I did not know that.
Dagnammett.
Yeah.
Dagummit.
Shucks.
Fiddle sticks.
I can't come on this show.
You need gold on the.
You need goalies.
Yeah.

You're really good.
Good.
You help the gold.
And also these were,
these are hasha kick and Kippa.
You're the goal.
Chicken or egg, right?
Yeah.
What was, what was Kippur before we met you?
Another.
Third stringer.
A.H.O.
Yeah.
Comes here.
Oh, this guy's really good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, you look at Boston.
They've won four in a row and six of eight of those four.
Oh, shut out Swayman.
Shut out Corpus.
That helps.
Oh, okay.
Well, you can't more than that, but it helps.
It sure does.
Usually, anytime we're trying to crack something really complex, just look at it.
By the way, Justinus, get your head out of your hoop, husk, quick playing wolf.
It's a lot of wolf.
He's tired.
He's got the Olympic break coming.
And in the second there, like, when they're down too old, like, he's making some big
saves to keep in it.
And then the end of the night, you're like, well, four goals.
Oh, ooh, woo, boy, coolie last night.
yeah he was good in Pittsburgh maybe he's maybe he's still well who coolly what worse well he was very sick
having a relapse you said you felt bad I did so bad because he was like maybe he's still
battling well you're not gonna get better and worse are you well I don't know maybe he's still
make excuses for husk his poor decisions she the hell you do what I just try to put myself in his
shoes it's like if you're in like we got a win like how in the world do you not I write wolf's name on
board every time.
Like it's just
you see the high end
a wolf and you're like,
God, like he can steal us on.
You got to phone the GM
Husk and say, hey.
Tommy.
Craig.
It's me being a professional.
Hey, Craig.
Craig.
Gregory.
I really want to play wolf,
but I know he shouldn't.
Am I going to lose my job?
When we lose this game?
It's got to your extension.
No? Okay.
I'm playing cooey.
We're in cahoots here, right?
I love it.
He doesn't.
You butter.
Eat cahoots.
Right.
You got a cahoot.
Cahooting.
Get on the same page.
It's a garage heater.
Help the.
Craig ain't that busy.
You can't make a phone call.
Trust me.
Yeah, you're more productive in the garage.
Your cahooting is more fruitful.
Yeah, because you're not like, I'm cold.
I got to get off the call.
Am I wrong, though?
He's played too much.
Oh, he has.
I think the.
I understand the circumstances behind it.
But last night.
Maybe.
That's all like truly
because I'm with you.
It's like Cooley just won.
Play him again.
Yeah, what more did Cooley need to show you on Saturday?
You won you the game.
Unless he's not well.
I don't know.
Can't get off the throne maybe.
Maybe.
I was almost going to have to take a break during the noodles.
Noodles just pause for a second.
You're okay.
Take a break now.
Look outside today.
Shit fat.
Dude.
What is happening?
We're getting into the teens today.
16.
There is not a cloud in the sky out to the world.
Let's go.
Let's go down to that.
The mountains are calling.
The launcher, uh, launch pad.
I was, the mountains are called.
It would be a, wonderful.
Trying to do them.
Read.
Oh, tell me not to.
Definitely go to the mountains.
I mean, look at the mountains out there.
Gorgeous.
God.
I went to the mountains last weekend.
Changed my life.
Went before Christmas.
Completely.
My whole month.
You have a new boom.
Old times you've gone to the mountains.
No boom.
It's that.
It's the air.
attitude improvement
you put your phone down a little bit more
you're not thinking about stuff
you're not yeah you're not in that
uh oh
it's one of those things
I don't think it's owl
it's just oh yeah it is
Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts
CRMR.com is the website
what are you waiting for
Jack you being there
I'm wrong with the Rocky Mountains
yeah yeah of course the CRR
M.R though, no, no, no, no.
Because I haven't, I thought, because we're big
Bill's fans that maybe you and I should hit the
mountain system. Oh, maybe.
Because Binder and Boomer know people, apparently.
Ski-a-joring coming up
out there. Oh, we've been talking.
You got the horse. You got the
and somebody's riding behind. They got their skis on.
It's like water ski rope. It's like water skiing
behind a horse and they're going over jumps
and stuff. Right down.
You want to do the horse or the skiing?
Skisking.
Okay.
Oh, we can do both.
Let's do both.
Ski-jor.
Feel your heart race.
Grab your partner's hand.
You head to downtown Banff January 17th and 18th.
The electrifying ski-joring show on Banff Ave.
This is weekend.
Cowboys, horses thundering down the snowy street skiers fly it off the jump.
That sounds fun.
A bold blend of horseback speed aerial ski stunts.
Music's pumping, crowds wound up, giant screens with the instant replays.
They're flipping and twisting.
and you got to stay somewhere, right?
Yeah.
Come on now.
Buffalo Mountain Lodge.
Buffalo Mountain Lodge.
You just kind of where the,
you got the,
well,
there's the chocolate,
that's the fudge place in the one side,
and you got the coffee place the other.
Grab your,
just up the hill,
Buffalo Mountain Lodge.
It's right there,
right where you want to be.
Fireplace,
crackling,
mountain views for days.
It's the winter escape.
That's what it is.
This was my visit before Christmas,
obviously. Book your stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge and use the rate access code Barn
burner. And you'll get 50% off your room. You can hear the fire crackling, can't you?
Your drinks, your cocktails, your happy hour cocktails taste just a little bit sweeter.
The air, nice and crisp and clean. And right now the weather is unbelievable. That's what it would
look. That may as well be live right now as it is a beautiful.
beautiful time of year.
And yeah, they got the skidjoring going on this weekend.
Put the phone down.
Get back to,
uh,
get back to what matters.
This would be a great day to just stroll mainstream.
Getting away from your family.
Now,
leave them at home if you want.
No,
take the facts.
Maybe you need to connect with your loved one.
Maybe you'd want to take the kids.
Go skiing.
Sunshines wound up.
Again,
CRMR.com.
Use barn burner when you,
uh,
go to book.
Oh,
here it is.
15%
off your stay.
All one word?
Yes, promo code.
He's a man of action, Red.
He is.
Yeah.
And I'm a heck of a salesman.
You are.
Yeah.
But truly, it's selling itself.
Special this time of here.
You guys carry on.
We're pretty blessed.
All around the world.
Come take a little peek at Banff out.
Oh, like.
We don't need to talk.
I mean, we kind of, we talked a little bit about it,
and then we had the conversation with Jamie.
But I think I know what.
the point Red's kind of making.
Regarding the trades. Just everything, right?
You've got Anderson.
I'm great.
Playing great. You love them in the room, the whole thing.
Jonathan Hubert O's game is...
Did he play?
Non-existent rightness.
I mean, we could talk about it and just be spiteful and mean,
but there's no point of even...
That's kind of been his saying.
It's just been so non-discrime.
It's not even worth discussing.
It's peak was kind of when they turned him into a checking winger for a season.
And they bragged about it?
No, I mean, it was better than the first year.
But that's not a peak.
That would be his worst year in Florida, his best year here.
Are you getting to some risks?
Do you want to dig into this?
He is 32.
I don't even know what you say it.
But my point, I guess what I was going to say is,
Weeger is 32.
Six and a quarter million.
He's got five more years.
Five more?
A year to year.
He's got a 10 team, no trade.
thing that kicks in in years five to eight, I believe
it is. Okay. Are you suggesting
that while everyone's focused on Erasmus
deal, oh boy, you're going to do this. You've talked about a few times.
It's not a Uyghur thing. It's a team thing. So yes, as a team, that's
my approach. Everyone's for sale.
Yes. I'm sorry, and I think McKenzie Weger would be sought after
as well. More money, longer term, but there would be teams that are like,
F, yeah. And his number's going to be way less than
Erasmus extension. Yes, he's three years.
older, but like, Grasse was saying for six in a court.
No, if he was, he's here locked in long term.
He's going to want Chickren plus money.
That's nine to ten. I just don't
believe. And I guess it's
partly because I've planted my flag in this take.
I felt weger's the best defenseman on the team.
And he has not been close to the best
Anderson. It's a bad. Anderson's
a better defense. So I guess just my point, I'll finish.
If I'm a team and I'm looking at it's like,
I could get McKenzie Weeger
probably less than what I'd pay at market because
he's having a tough season. Yeah.
they've got this potential rebuilder going through.
We might be able to get this Weger, who's a great guy,
at a bit of a bargain.
And again, he spent his whole time in Calgary playing with almost dusters, right?
But I don't know if I agree with that because there's no panic to Craig selling.
Do you know what I mean?
I get what you're saying.
I'm going to phone on Weger because maybe I'll get a discount,
and Conroy's going to go, you don't get a discount.
Why would you sell low if your company?
No, noodles just said it.
Noodles just said it.
Oh, and I mean, there's a level, obviously, if it's, you know, we'll give you a fourth.
you're not making that deal.
But part of a, it's just part of the,
because all we're,
what are you going to get for Anderson?
And I think it's a very small percent.
But is there a,
is there a world that exists where?
No, but it should be,
it should be not,
it shouldn't be a small percentage.
It should be,
this is how we conduct our business.
If somebody wants McKenzie Weger
and they phone, we're in.
What I was saying is,
is there a scenario where instead of the,
we're just going to trade?
Oh, all the likelihood of it.
Maybe there's an arasmus extent.
for us and we trade Weger instead.
You could. It's just the returns.
If you look at just their play
this year, like Rass was to stock,
I don't think it's ever been higher. With the cap
as high as it is, his salary as low as
is his play right now, leadership.
Like we talked about him saying there'd be no distractions
this year and like give him credit. It hasn't distracted him.
It might be distracting the whole fan base and all of us in the media.
He's having a career year. Yeah, he's always played
good in there. And I think like
Weger had a 20 goal season a couple of years ago.
he's not having a good year.
So I'm not against selling McKenzie Weger,
someone blows your socks off,
but he's not having the type of year
that people are going to be ringing your phone off the hook necessarily, right?
I don't, I don't know.
Like if you're picking right now, you want Rasmus,
whereas last year you're like, oh, well, we'd want Weager.
Just player for play.
In the most simplest of terms, yes,
but if you're also thinking that Rasmus needs nine and a half
to continue to play here, you might be going,
well, you know what?
Yeah.
I can use Weager for a couple years.
and he's locked in at a low number.
Yeah.
You get any bounce back.
That's a huge value.
Right?
Like, oh, look at Seth Jones in Chicago.
Awful in Chicago.
He goes to Florida.
You're like, there he is.
That's the top,
top pair guy, big minutes,
all rolls.
Like, boom.
And it's maybe not the best time to bring it up at night,
like the morning after he makes a play like that.
It's not even that bad a play.
It's really not.
But everyone thinks that this was just a horse.
This is not a pizza up the middle.
I've made pizzas up the middle.
So tell us about it because he is kind of getting torched
because it's a turnover of the least.
You get so far down and you're along the wall and you're getting pressured and you try to throw it back up.
Where is everyone going by the way?
Flying the zoo.
Yeah, which is a wonderful thing to think.
I've told every kid that I've ever coached, they get to, you get below the top of the circle, throwing it.
Kids suck because they were too weak to do it.
It's hard to throw it back up the wall, strong side where the pressure is.
Yeah, stupid because this highlight doesn't really go far enough back is the only problem.
I talked to Rob Rubik out of cutting these claims.
Come on, body.
That's a tough play.
Like, those guys shouldn't be blown zones.
Everyone has turned and is flying the zone.
Because he's already, he's already tried to make.
And he's married to make.
He's tried to make the hand play at the blue line.
That didn't work.
He then has a chance to recover and bang it off the wall.
Threats whiteboard.
Sorry, not your stop.
Everyone's already turned their feet.
They're gone.
They're gone.
No support.
Three guys.
Who's the D partner?
It's got to be because that's all.
Open your effing mouth.
Yeah, tell them reverse it.
Because bump it back.
Bump it back.
I'm here for you.
Because you throw it up that wall and it's getting picked off.
Kids, if you get below the top of that circle, that's a tough play.
So what do you say?
If you are pressures on anywhere, you get below the top of the circle, even and throwing it back up.
Eat it.
No, you put it behind your net.
You're not.
That's how I think's pull the goal on here.
Kids are stupid and they don't realize that.
Well, they are.
Kids are stupid.
These guys shouldn't be stupid.
Look where Kuznetsoff goes.
Now, maybe he is calling for it
and then Uyger didn't move it.
But if he's not screaming his head off,
behind the that, behind the that,
it's on him.
It's one of those things on a team like this too.
Yeah, like he's going behind the net.
Like I'm guessing Kuznetsov is headed behind the net.
He wants it.
And the other thing is too, if you're, if you're Zer,
you assume he's going to make that chip off the wall.
This play?
The three guys between you?
Are you talking about the very start of the clip?
Yes.
Yes.
By the time here.
But that's what I mean by we're digging into this play.
Like it's a massive play and it's just a simple play.
It ends up in the net.
Yeah.
Okay, a couple things.
Don't fly the zone.
Well, I thought we were getting it out.
Don't throw it back up the wall into pressure.
Okay.
Should have put it behind the net.
Wolf stopped the puck.
I'm tired.
I've played too much.
Like, because that's off yell for it, louder.
Like, this is not a McKenzie Weeger.
You're an idiot play.
Not at all.
It was the time of the game and the circumstance.
It's totally,
the circumstance is different too.
Like,
imagine he makes this playing Colorado and they've got a six burger up.
No one's even talking about it.
Like,
it's just when this team is in a game late,
tied,
like the stakes are so high,
there's so room for error.
A lot of teams in the league,
you can make the mistake you still win the game,
but this team's margin for error is so thin.
They got three last night,
and that was like, okay,
they got a chance.
They got three.
Perfect game, fellas.
Absolutely.
Great night.
Perfect game.
Early start.
You get down, you come back, you get down, you come back.
You're in it.
You don't quit.
You lose.
In rig.
Beauty.
Perfect.
Come on, Chicago.
Chef Kiss.
Chicago's had the number of things.
I was trying to talk about it.
Let's go.
Not sure.
Weig sees it that way.
Wee should relax.
It looks like he's trying to do a lot.
I saw both in the visual they showed on the bench.
a guy that cares and the guy that might be okay going somewhere else.
I don't think it was a get me the F out of here.
No, but it's two things.
Again, you just sit there and you read it.
There was something about last night, though.
I told you by Friday we'll know.
He sat there on just watching him.
Dejection.
I don't.
All I, it's just two things.
It's the state of my game.
And I feel terrible for what I did to my voice.
Yep.
And again,
for a veteran
NHL guy that's
a very good defenseman
he's played enough hockey to realize
that that play is nothing
and he shouldn't be wearing it
and it's great to care
but
that's why there's a level of
I think in December
they dug their way out of it
and there was some excitement and fun
I think they're back into the doldrums
of holy F.
I sure see it?
4 or 5 and 26 they lost
I sure see it in
Codry.
It's the dark days.
They're looking forward to the
Tough schedule with the Olympic break.
They're not
They can say whatever they want.
They're not making the playoffs.
They're not going to put a push on for the playoffs.
It's pipe dream.
Rumors about trades.
And I got a beach vacation booked in a month.
Get me out of here.
And I said that stupid trip,
did they stay over in Pittsburgh Saturday night?
Even if they didn't, you got a couple nights in Columbus of boredom,
and they're like, oh, my God.
This, it's too much.
Schedule's terrible, sitting in Columbus, ugh.
Tough trip.
They're the worst road team in the NHL.
Excellent.
They've been quite good at home.
That's what saved them in December.
They are now 7, 16, and two away from the dome.
That is a 320 points of percentage.
Like, that is below one out of three.
and they got 8 to 9 at home here.
So just when we're about to write them off
at the end of the road trip,
they're going to come back to the confines.
But you do start to see the reality setting in
with some of the vets in the sense that they worked
so hard to get back into this thing
within one point of a playoff spot.
And then it's like, shit, like we had a couple things go the wrong way.
Some games we played well.
We could have won.
And now it's like right back where we're in 31st again.
Or we're in 30th.
And I think it is that too.
I think it's a lot of it.
How many games?
have we played? Oh my God. December was great. I thought we were rolling. What happened?
Sittna, get in on a plane after losses too is miserable. Quiet.
Hell smile. Watch your, watch your shifts. Like yeah. No good. And the game that remains is the one that at the start you were.
No, this looks tough. That's awful. I thought Columbus and Chicago were both back.
Back back because you had that time.
Columbus is a boring town.
You are going to be a little bit fatigued.
You've been on the road for a week already.
And you're just like, oh my God.
It's not an exciting building to play in, especially when the bat team is kind of
fumbling about.
Yeah.
Chicago is.
Columbus isn't.
Yeah.
And look, like it feels like to kind of to go to Kooli, doesn't it?
I, I'm, I would have went to Kooli.
Like, no, but now that you're here to have revisionists.
And I know that we do our show after games.
So it's, I could be.
correct on a lot of things.
Yeah. Like it feels like it's a coolest.
And now it's the last of a road trip.
They will have Bedard back. He missed their game
in Edmonton a couple nights ago due to flu or whatever.
Like I'd be stunned if he's not in the lineup.
They play better without him.
They're a team that's got some vigor. The building
will have some pop. And you're dog tired.
It's the last one of a road trip.
You're professional. Yeah.
Have another same look last night. That was fine.
People I don't talk.
All day.
Paul, really.
Who would call you?
you'd want to talk to them right now.
Don't they know you're doing a show?
Noodles, I'd answer.
Connie?
Was in your...
Well, Connie would probably be calling me
to offer me a job like
Bollins is getting it.
Yeah.
Steady bed.
I'm curious, though.
If you were on a boat
in Florida,
and you got the phone calls.
How's the next year looking?
I got six days left on my rental.
How about the Olympic break?
You don't need to do.
I wouldn't do it now.
I would wait.
You know, that Olympic break.
It's a nice reset.
Yeah.
It's really nice reset.
We'll get some good practices in.
We'll get guys some time off.
We'll come back ready to go recharge.
It would be fun to be GM.
Give me the reins of this.
Maybe we could play the fake GM, but.
I worry.
Why?
I'm going to do it worse than some guys that are doing it.
Yep.
Why?
You have the financial guy.
You get the stats nerd.
You got a buddy that you're bullshit with.
Go.
I think you're emotional.
sometimes.
It does swing a bit day to day.
I think that's a good thing.
Yeah.
Like you would have traded Perek the day after the 70s.
You don't know what I got returned for Percke.
So maybe the trade was great.
Maybe you got T.
I'm trading the record setting.
Look at this ass.
Defenseman point getter.
Oh, I'm an idiot.
No, I got a great return.
Good work.
What was your return?
Verhof.
Oh, very good.
And a player.
How did you add a guy?
Is the player any good?
Is it in there?
Yeah, good, okay.
Trading for a guy.
It was good if they played Kirkland as well.
That was important to get.
They're in a tough spot at center, man.
Like, who's going to play fourth line C right now?
Who are the F?
Yes, we've talked about this a gazillion times.
Who's the fourth line?
Well, why is for a long time beat your clap Galamburg?
But now when Beecher gets hurt, you don't have another center.
So it's like, Zariot, fourth line C.
Clapka and Lomburg, worse than Huberdo and whoever he's playing with?
I didn't notice them anymore.
Codry therapy.
That three together is not ideal.
That's my point is that.
No, it's not like your pin in losses on fourth line guys.
It's just that they've got three natural centermen.
So what do you do?
Like Kirkland's your only center you have left.
I would rather see Rory Care.
Or Sam Orton.
Understand how this guy yesterday is Gridden.
And now today it's...
No, no. I would love to see Gridden if Coleman's out here for a bit.
I would.
And in the top nine, yeah.
But I'm wavering there.
But they also have a separate issue, which is they don't have enough centers.
I think that's why, like, that Detroit rumor is so interesting when you talk about Nick Danielson.
Because he's a huge right-shot center.
And he's selected in the top 10.
this is not a guy that's going to win at Ross,
but this is a very, very difficult piece to collect.
Like, think about a bigger, nastier backland.
Well, that's not hard to imagine.
No, but, like, in terms of effectiveness,
because I know backlands aren't nasty,
but, like, if you had, like,
I think we kind of roll our eyes when you draft someone high
and they end up being a middle six player,
but, like, God, there's a lot of really important players
in the middle six when you look at cup winners.
Like, you look at what Anton Lundell
is given Florida. You look at the third lines that we glorify, whether it was Gord, Barclay,
and Coleman in Tampa, or it was like the Paulson line in Bollyneheim, Holick.
You were dead then, Jack.
Like, these are really, really good players. And if you slot them properly, they're there.
I don't think you can go find good young right-handed centers in this league. And that,
that rumor makes a lot of sense whether there's any truth or not, just because the scarcity of it.
Like, you don't have right-shot centers available. Never mind a guy that's two years out of his
draft class and looking like he's developing really nicely and big and fast.
Yeah.
That's.
I played with a Mark Danielson and he took one in the ads.
Oh no.
The hospital was no good.
Really?
You get slatter or no.
Like.
Yeah.
No good.
Yeah.
Well, I'll put the damper on that one.
Hopefully your nards are all right, Mr.
Danielson.
I'd be okay with that trade.
Make the trade conrad.
Conrick.
Get off your ass.
I think that's why it probably it seemed to, well, that makes sense.
is because they absolutely need help at center.
And the wings have,
drafting a bunch of,
like I think they had five at the world
year's a bunch of teams that were interesting too.
And in terms of buyers or so.
Maybe I don't want to be GM because then I would have to go all
through the lot of roster.
A lot of talking to guys.
Yeah, God.
You don't like answer your phone.
This would be tough.
Yeah.
Oh, you're on the fault.
Okay, we've got two.
I'm out to call two people back.
Don't know, but you've got assistance.
Pascal, deal with this shit.
Come on.
Yeah.
I want to talk to.
Well, who would.
be your assistant.
Who do you hang out with?
Lazy bastards.
He'd be puttering around in the garage.
I would be.
But I thought it was.
Some of your loser buddies.
Utah does have a bunch of
they've been rebuilt.
They push chips in a bit too.
You look at the Paturka deal.
That's the deal where they're trying to get better for today
and long term and they give up,
you know,
a really nice prospect in Done and Kesselring is a good steady Dman.
I don't think they thought Done was going to be the player.
No, I agree with that.
I think he was a throw it.
Kessel Ring kind of, they had a lot of
in that area.
So like, okay, why don't we move this?
And like, that's a guy that scored a lot last year.
Like, let's bring him in.
They're going to push.
That owner wants to win right now.
Seattle's going to be the same.
Ron Francis has to GM for his job.
And they're playing well, finally.
But they could use, I don't think there's going to be any shortage of buyers.
When you look how many teams are within five points of the playoffs,
it feels like it's 85% of the league.
So are you at the point?
Because we went through whatever it was two years ago when you had
Hanofen and Tannen and that.
We got to the point, so we need to kind of be ready.
So if somebody gets traded today or who's around and go do a stream or whatever, are you there now?
Well, if we get a Rasmus deal today, we got two and a half weeks to the Olympic break, I believe.
I think there's going to be some significant moving in the league before then.
I don't know if it's this week, but it seems like.
Significant.
Yeah.
I think teams will want to get some more time for the Olympics.
I think that is a good time to do it.
And deadlines create action.
Now, wait, let's play this up.
So you're GM Bob, and I'm GM Jim, and we're going into the Olympic break.
Do I want to bring that guy in right before?
There's pros and cons.
He certainly.
Like I would want to do it today, so you get two weeks, and then you get your break to go have,
and then you get a week of practice with.
Yeah.
And is this player going to the Olympics or not?
It's a big piece, right?
Because if he's not, you're like, perfect.
He can get settled in.
He can meet the guys.
You can learn the neighborhood, whatever.
where if a guy is going in the Olympics,
she's like,
ooh,
I don't want that guy to blow his knee
after I give up a first for him.
Some tournament in Italy.
Maybe it's not that simple as champion.
It's definitely a lot of layers.
What about,
you're going to need good people around you.
What about the main center guy in Vancouver?
Belias.
Patterson,
yeah.
Elias?
Elias.
Is he available?
Is he available?
11.6.
You want to pay him.
You can have them.
I'm not convinced, but I've just, I'm like, you see Zegris moves?
Yeah.
Doing okay.
Yeah.
Maybe a champ.
There's someone going to go, you know what?
That guy was pretty good.
I still recall somebody saying, oh, he's a lot like Gretzky, which was outlandish and stupid.
But.
Good player when he's right.
Yeah.
So if it is like Zegris and I think it is a lot, what you saw with Zegris was the team
selling, refusing saying these offers aren't good enough, these offers aren't good enough, these offers aren't good enough.
and the asset continued to distress and value
until it happened and you didn't get much of a return.
I feel like that's where they're at in Vancouver.
Yeah, what are you going to have to give up to take 11 off of their books?
But they're already bad, so I don't know that they need to be a cap team.
I think they're going to be patient with this one.
But if you really like them and you're betting on a bounce back,
pay a premium and get them, that's been a tough two years to make that bet.
Like, I don't know if I'm...
That's where you need Danielson.
Big ones.
Yeah.
Blund up.
or injury.
Yeah.
Okay.
Love the Mark.
But you're right in the sense that when have we ever seen number one centers
get traded in the league?
Almost never.
It's like,
Cable and Buffalo Thoris said it this morning.
Thor got trade.
That's kind of what it was like,
hmm.
You did.
And it looked like a terrible train.
And it was early.
And then Joe kicked ass.
Yeah.
For a long time.
But that's a, it's one to watch.
I just don't know that.
what Vancouver's going to have.
We need center.
What's that?
We need center.
We do, but do you like Elias Pedersen?
I don't like them any worse than Huber, though.
Put the both of them together.
Well, I mean, yeah, if you could trade you before him, I'm in.
Yeah, Hughie is 32, and he and Cadre are now had a real tough time creating offense,
and that's basically what they're paid in this league today.
I thought they're putting them back together because that was gold.
There's no gold and has them, their hills, I don't think.
It hasn't been the might as touch there.
Oh, by gold rip.
Gold rip.
All right, Pinda Report is for our good friends at Village.
Honda up in the Northwest Auto Mall.
It's going to be greasy today.
All the water melting the sides of the road splashing up on you.
That's going to freeze all over your icy.
Then we're going to get another snow.
It's winter.
So make sure you check in on their winter ready SUV event.
We're talking four by fours, all-wheel drive, something for Cal.
Pallegrees winner. Check out the inventory online at village honda.com.
It's your dealership for life. Let's start in C-Bus on flamesnation.com.
Where it was a pretty good night for the rebuild and a pretty tough night if you're in that room.
A nice rally from down 2-0 and 3-2 in the third, only to watch the jackets win the game in the final 90 seconds.
Our boy, Flash, still digging in on the dog here.
We're trying to get more Intel.
Pike's really not helping a bunch.
I thought he'd put those journalistic skills to use.
Need a name.
Need a name.
Breed.
What was that dog?
In the mouth?
He was a good boy.
Lassie?
I don't know what the name.
I don't care about the name.
That's good looking.
I'm not sure.
All right.
Go ahead, right.
Good looking dog.
More on the loss there from Flash on Flames Nation.com.
There's a lot more as well.
We talked about their dismal road record.
It is the worst of the NHL.
Pike's got more on that.
Is this a feather in the cap of Ryan Huska
that when he can get the matchups,
he tips the ice that well,
is this just a bad road?
This is the
raucous nature
of the Calgary Saddleville.
It really is, yeah.
The intimidate,
it's like going into Philly.
The Philadelphia.
It's probably the modern day
equivalent of the Chicago Stadium.
Yeah.
Sarcastic bastards.
What? Yeah, I hear a game.
You guys like Zane last night?
Yep.
Yeah, he likes popcorn too.
Geez.
That's a few games in a row.
Well, you might as well.
You're already done five.
You're going to go through this five and then another five of sitting around doing nothing?
It's interesting.
He's missed four in a row.
He did play in the bronze medal game.
He has not played since rejoining the team in Montreal.
That was the first of the five game road trip.
We'll see if he gets in against Chicago.
But he is one healthy scratch away from being eligible for a one time only conditioning
stint to the American League for two weeks.
The flames would love to use that during the 10-day, no practice break of the Olympics,
but that's still many weeks away.
It's quite a very rain blurs schedule.
Now,
if someone is playing for the rangers that you care about,
Marty Pospicill has been reassigned on a conditioning step.
I care about him enough to go,
you're telling him to retire.
We've heard you.
Would you see these,
uh,
did you see the photos yesterday?
He's got his jersey on.
He's kind of,
you know,
he's getting,
he's in like a player.
It's kind of like remember the old hockey cards.
Pulled a stick down.
Yeah,
Remember the old?
You would have probably done when you were a Saskatoon blade.
You kind of get down there.
You're in the hockey.
There's a Saskatoon Blade for you.
Frank Bannam.
Is that Banam?
Bimbo.
Yeah, he's got the jersey on.
He's getting ready.
Slowbacks want Marty?
Where's are the checks?
For the Olympics.
And we've been talking about his return since he left the preseason game and
skated later that week and then didn't skate for large swaths.
recovering and then wasn't skating it.
Like it's been quite a journey for him.
This is a terrible schedule.
Hope he can return healthy for.
Play well.
Correct.
Because they don't play it all next week.
The Wranglers.
Well, and this is the thing is this isn't the Olympic break out of there.
This isn't really when you want the condition.
Well, I don't, I know what you think that's the only way of doing.
No, no.
There's lots of ways to do they get Monday to Friday off next week.
It's like, oh.
So do you want them practicing with the HL team?
You could practice with the NHL team.
He started doing that.
Huh.
We'll see what they do.
We'll keep moving.
The schedule ahead is interesting, but first, look at Dustin Wolf, this poor bastard.
You, Saros, great work against the Oilers last night.
Love you, big saves.
Good stuff.
Stop McDavid and close late.
Thank you, sir.
They won that game in overtime.
Wolf second in the NHL and shots against, nearly a thousand.
How's that got to do with that?
No, he's busy.
I think it helps strengthen your case that maybe it's Devin Cooley time on Thursday.
We're last night if you had a time machine.
busy guy
busy
Thursday's game against Chicago
is the third of the season series
it's the finale
the two results
4-0-0 loss
in Calgary
5-2 loss in Chicago
outscored 9 to 2 by the Hawks
who are one game under
yeah
I'm playing better
look at that last 10
13 points in their last 10 games
not awful but hard back
that's their next one
all right
great night in the inverse
standings fellas
take a look here. Goodness, it was excellent.
Jersey gets a win. They'd been creeping down low.
Nashville gets two points. Anaheim had a lead against Dallas.
I think they hung on for that one.
They did. First win since December 20th to snap the nine-game skid.
Proverbrivial four-pointer, Columbus separates.
You'd be one back at Columbus if you won that in Reg instead.
Zinc five back. Huge game.
Zinc.
St. Louis won last night.
They believe they picked Carolina on the second half of back-to-back.
Three-nothing, Joel Holfer.
Hofer.
It's only
Mr. Perfect.
The Vancouver Canucks
that did not do any favors
to the flames
and the inverse standing there.
Look at that.
Winnipeg's playing well.
One thousandth of a percentage point.
Back.
Three in a row.
It's like noodles set up
the leagues.
The players need to play better.
For our situation,
it's our group that needs to take control
of it.
We can't be relying on others.
We're going for a top three.
We got...
Yeah.
GM can help too.
Handle it yourselves.
Handle it in-house.
Worrying about other people.
Who's taking care of business for them right now?
Well, I'll tell you what.
Cadreys doing a good job.
Hubert O.
Hubby manias.
He's crushing it.
Wigs, stripped in.
Yeah.
There's guys.
Let's look at the results.
It's a long season.
It's a long 82 game march.
84 next year.
Can't wait.
God, yeah.
Sends just get past Vancouver.
Two nothing to lead early.
Kind of sat on that a bit.
Washington over the habs in overtime.
That's a rematch from last season.
Is there a big fight?
Because that was an awesome series last year.
Awesome.
There was a fight.
Yeah.
Who scramped?
Dylan McElrath.
And Wi-Fi?
He's a big bastard.
Wi-Fi's a big bastard too.
Tampa without Braden Point, get the win in the shootout.
That's 11 straight for Tampa.
Ties a team record.
Cooch, though.
His 10-game 25-point streak came to an end.
He did score, I believe, scored the shootout winner, but that doesn't count.
Sure doesn't.
Look at that list of wins.
Cains, Pantaros, Hades, Kings, abs.
That's a tidy, loving game winning streak that is the longest winning streak of any NHL team this season is the graphic notes.
Why are we promoting these?
They're hot right now.
The hottest team in the league.
Stole a cup from me.
Get out of you.
None of those guys are there anymore.
Sorry, let's go back here.
Preds in overtime.
Really nice Mike Smith special from Tristan Jury.
That was excellent.
Yeah, I don't mind that at all.
That's a highlight.
Why aren't you playing that?
I did point out that was a Mike Smith special,
and it was brought to my attention that he did not blame his teammates or pointed
the defense for it.
So not quite, maybe an 80%.
Jets win again.
Good work, fellas.
We'll see young Matthew Schaefer in Calgary next week.
Is it possible that one of the Leaf's going to pump it last thing?
Bruins another shutout, you noted.
This time, Swammon.
It was Corpusalo a couple of games.
times ago. Pittsburgh on Sunday, Swamen 24 saves here against the wings who had been hot. So the Bruins now that's four in a row and six of seven. The Utes get a big win over the Leafs. They were all, uh, the Leafs had a 10-year-on-point Street.
After their win in Denver. And it was the second half of the back-to-back. And to your point, just on the mammoth, 4-1-1 in their last five. Jamie says they're keeping eye on them.
If a guy had a brain, he would have went big on the Utah's as well. If a guy had a brain. Because,
that emotional win in Colorado over time back to back.
You know there's going to be a exhale.
Bam.
Six one.
And the ducks and their miserable skit, as you noted earlier, Dino is that's
an impressive win over a good Dallas Stars team who hasn't quite been right since Christmas.
Hmm.
Yeah, I think Hayskin was out, uh, personal issues or something.
Well, I thought you've been drinking.
Maybe.
But yeah, it's been a long month.
I got a lot of personal issues.
That's all it takes.
Let's keep moving.
Braden Point, the lightning might be going good, but this is not.
Okay, they avoided the worst case scenario.
His season's not over, but he's week to week, end quote.
That's from John Cooper.
His status for Team Canada is very much up in the air.
He's not going to play for Team Canada.
And that's a blow to the Team Canada team.
He finished the gold medal or whatever it was Four Nations game on the top line with McDavid.
Important player.
Tough break.
Never played at the Olympic.
obviously because it's been ancient the years since they went yeah it's it sucks for him
really does us speak stuff dean calgary guy geez yeah he's he's not blessed brayden come on home
here's your future is at bet 365 the abs holy crap are they favored here you don't usually
see a number that small and it's midway championship yes plus 250 lightning in the second
position jesus is up there canes quietly doing what they're doing i don't think Vegas can be dead
Vegas leading the worst division in hockey,
Panthers, they were going to get healthier.
Starras might be a...
Dallas at 14-1 in Minnesota,
Quinnesota, 20 to 1.
I think Minnesota's got to do more.
I think they will.
You're in that division, right?
You're looking at Dallas, you're looking at Colorado?
Don't get cocky.
You're going to play one of those teams in the first round.
Most likely Dallas.
That would be a nice purchase right there.
Minnie at 20-1.
Dallas or mini?
Wild.
Yeah.
20.
Because I like the wilds.
goaltending more than the stars for somebody.
I agree. The wall from St. Paul.
And guess what? Wins your hockey.
Does goalies.
Goleys, crazy bastards.
Tired goalies.
Yeah.
Cost you games.
Tonight's games will take a peek at the slate.
Easy game for you today.
Al Larsson.
Help you with the first one.
Yeah, yeah.
Rasmus first to the line in.
Help you with the second.
Okay.
Well, just let you get you.
Danny Breyer.
Mika's been a jab.
And who's the last one?
Give us a good.
Nate Schmidt? No, was he ever king?
He was a king.
Martina.
Yeah, like Martinez. Very good.
Slate it. Good work, boys.
Dean in these additions?
No, you looked ahead, had all your answers.
I did not look ahead. I literally had not thought of it until it came up, but today the brains operate.
You just had Larson and...
He's fasting. His brain is a weight back.
Immediately when I see Seattle, think of the expansion draft and Larson had played for the Devils as well.
Of course, it was from Edmonton.
He'd just taken into the experience.
But that's what we prefer, where it's not a direct trade.
I don't like the direct.
Even a signing.
The wrist, all the signing.
The Ristoliner was a direct trade, right?
Breer signer.
You went Buffalo to.
There's a lot of, uh, if you want to go back.
Yeah.
A lot of.
Did Zubris play from all those teams?
Or was he just Philly?
He was Philly for sure.
I don't think he played, played there.
Doesn't matter.
We nailed it.
Let's go.
Yeah.
Let's keep going.
Screw that rule.
Over to football where Jack Steelers are, well, they're
morning. The Steelers
have only had three coaches since 1969.
I think all of us were even dead back there.
Woodstock, three coaches.
Dean, were you dead?
I was dead, guys.
Wow. Even Dean was dead back then.
I saw a lot of similar reaction online
and that to what we saw out of Jack.
Yeah, it's time for a change. We need to move on.
And then when a house, like, oh, God, what are we doing?
So how do we replace this?
Good. We have a supply.
It's been in 20 years.
What are you?
Who's going to do this?
Sports, you know what?
We're so stupid.
Never changed, Jack.
And Jack, to answer the question at the bottom, who should be next?
Man, I think we've got to poach someone from one of these Rams coordinators or Niners coordinators.
Get us someone young.
You want someone from the Shanahan or McVay?
I want someone first time head coach, like all three of these guys were.
Really?
You want the first time?
Yeah.
I feel like, it would be way better the next time.
Everything was squint.
I want a first time head coach.
Give someone young a chance.
Nobody asked you for your opinion.
You asked him what he was asking about you guys.
Tell him he's an idiot.
Not telling him.
Pressing him.
Make sure he believes what he's saying.
He seems confident.
That's his job.
I think it's very fresh.
I don't think John has.
He's not really.
He's been a lot to take in the office.
He better be Arthur Smith.
I'll tell you that.
Then you're coming over the.
Good.
He's a real.
He is not a first.
He should never have been a first time.
He's getting a couple interviews, though.
Arizona.
Isn't that weird?
Like you see teams
they'll put out a graphic
or whatever.
Interview.
We're interviewing so and so.
I saw that the other day
with Mike McDaniel.
I'm like,
did he just get hired?
It's like no.
No, he's being interviewed
and the team makes it public.
We're going to interview
this coaching candidate today.
It's almost like they're floating
test balloons to see what people think.
I don't know.
Here are your odds to the weekend.
Now,
I don't know if you noticed,
but when this slate opened
on Sunday night or Monday,
the Broncos were getting a point.
point in a half. Now it's the bills getting once. We have some early line movement early in the week with the bills now dogs on the road. Nine are still at seven and a half points. They're getting in Seattle against a well-rested Seahawks team with that nasty defense. Houston, it was three and a half now down to three at New England. They're getting those points. New England's laying them. And the only road team that is favored is the Rams in Chicago to face Dino's bears who are never born. It's never dull.
I want to do your picks? Not yet. That's for later in the
week just keeping you in the trends where are you at rat on your bills how you feeling i feel the same
way i did going up against denver as i did against jacksonville josh allen can beat the broncos
but it will take all of what he has yeah that's fair they're a more complete team but alan's the
best player in the game i don't think denver runs the ball as well as jacksonville does so i think that's a
that's a positive but
it's going to be tough.
The bills, I don't see the bills winning comfortably.
No.
If they continue to win.
These teams on buys too.
They just don't have to deal with the injuries in last week, right?
And the Broncos, I don't feel like they're going to run away and hide.
No.
Points-wise, I don't know that they're capable of that either.
I see a lot of similarities of them in New England, where they're just complete with young
quarterbacks with good defenses, but you wonder if they're ready to win you.
Bills have the best quarterback left in the playoffs.
Best player in the playoffs.
It's like that one point spread.
It's like, yeah, that's.
Seems accurate.
So, Alan and then Staff Daddy, those would be your power.
I can make my picks right now.
You want me to make me?
No, same.
We gotta get people tune in.
They can't just drop for their.
People are waiting with baited breath or something.
But then I can just take the day off.
Staff daddy after Josh Allen?
Just quarterbacks left.
Who else would you take?
Staff.
My boy.
Your boy's pretty damn good.
Fucking boys been playing as.
playing his
bag on
Caleb is looking like a legit start
that throw he made on fourth down was
unbelievable I I've never seen anything like that
and Bluvelin there looks like well you
have watched up Josh Allen
called the Shepler Shillard
she's got hard drives full of Josh Allen
video settle down
back tape Dean we've been
what were you doing I was going over take game tape
oh geez again
this is wedding video
this is a game video
This is a game tape.
Go ahead, Ryan.
We've lost our way on the Pender Report.
It took, find it.
It took Dean yesterday, bringing a kangaroo back in to remind us we can't forget our roots.
Now, this is the real Tarzan, as he's known on Instagram.
This guy travels around the world and chase of snakes.
We've seen them before.
We played him on the show.
Oh, that's good.
Look at the size of this behemoth that he decides to wrestle here.
It's a lot of boats.
How do that?
It goes for a while, so feel free to have your commentary along the way.
I don't want commentary.
I don't want to see it.
I don't like snakes.
Look at the size of this thing.
Great.
I saw it.
I saw it.
I don't like spiders and snakes.
Spiders buggy, eh?
Song.
Jim Stafford.
He is going to do a little, I'm going to get you and strangle you.
You're right in the throat.
All that you remember.
All the losers.
Stampergerger's together.
This is the best of those huge enough.
What are you?
That's enough.
How long?
We, this, you know, you may have lost your way, but so we don't have learned enough that we don't need a four minute.
No, no.
I'm making you.
I'm making you something.
Jari play to end the hockey game.
Not so much.
When are we going to that snake move?
I went, I took my kids to Anaconda with a buddy.
So the three boys, two of us.
And the kids liked it.
And they're 10, so they're jumping around.
But he and I were roaring, laughing.
Like, it was the perfect amount of dumb and funny.
This is not Anaconda.
Yeah, but you are also showing this.
My taste might not be yours.
But when we talked about that movie, we were like, it's going to be dumb and it's going to be stupid and it's going to be funny.
And that is 100% correct what Anaconda was.
I hope the snake wraps around them.
He does give them a good raft.
We're about one-fourth of the way.
Anyway, it's a large snake.
Thanks for getting us back to our roots team.
We appreciate it for our good friends.
And in a good form.
Zay Flowers.
Yeah, that's right.
It's a guy.
Still with the snake.
Still wrestling.
Just a monster.
Oh.
Anyway, we work hard.
We come into a podcast.
This guy travels the world and wrestles 20 foot like 200 pound snakes.
This is insane.
Sit-ups are free, dude.
Oh.
Makes out of work out.
That's your Pinned Report on this Wednesday, January 14th for Village Honda.
The preludes come to back, Dean.
For more details, villagehonda.com.
Get on the website, check it out.
You could cruise to the mountains in a prairie lid.
Sure.
You'd look good.
That's your sidekick?
Windows down.
Who's your sidekick?
You bring in noodles or Mika?
Jesus, man.
It's this old lady.
Josh Allen.
I thought you're talking about you.
No, no, no.
I can't do that fun of it.
Fast cars.
Villageonda.com, Northwest Automall, your dealership for life.
After this game of Chicago, they come home, and as you had said.
They are much better at home than they have been on the road, but even still.
Is that a concern?
for you two?
Yes.
It's right into that Olympic break.
Don't do any stupid here.
Or do you mean the home road?
No, that's just negative vibe.
Is there actual concern
that you think that when the flames arrive
back at Calgary Saddle Dome
Rise Way, they're going to
go on a six-gamer?
Well, I was going to say, because here's the opponents,
the islanders, who have been really good.
That is almost much,
must view.
It's a story no one's really talking about.
Right?
Like that is a ticket that at early in the year,
you wanted to take the islanders.
Oh, do I have to have the islander?
Yeah.
Because the islanders.
And now it's like, do I get tickets to the island?
Yeah, I want to see the Schaefer.
That's on Sunday.
They did lose to Winnipeg last night,
but there was another play where Schaefer bust his ass to get back
and take away an empty net goal and then ends up scoring at the other end.
He's such a, it's 15 for him now.
Islanders, the Devils, which, I mean, they're up and down, but
Pittsburgh, Washington, Anaheim is the five-game homestan.
This is a fantasy hockey homestand.
I mean, you got Schaefer number one, you got Jack Hughes number one.
He's sure, I believe, went really high.
One.
That's pretty high.
You got penguins coming in.
Sid.
You like Sid?
You like Melkin?
That's fantasy hockey.
Ovi and the caps coming in, fantasy hockey.
Lars Eller.
Lars-Zoller.
And Anaheim, like, yeah, that leave.
Carlson at two looks pretty bleeping good.
Beckett Seneca at three looks pretty bleeping good.
Tamish was a high pick.
What's the guy that plays D?
Captain.
Captain.
Troops?
May, no.
He's the captain of the team.
Goodus, goodus.
Radcom, ball and muck?
Oh, thank you.
His dad played.
Scott Niedermiermeier.
Norm.
Lecoe.
Lecombe.
Jackson Lecombe.
That guy.
Not the captain.
He's good.
captain, but he's very good.
Yeah.
I thought he was the captain.
No, very good player.
He doesn't a huge extension.
Well, he should be the captain.
You're doing to him.
Call Pat.
Q.
It's the, yeah, fantasy hockey homestand.
Take a look at our, uh, bet 365.
Bits, Bit 365.
Like, oh, is there some games tonight?
Yeah, there's games tonight.
Come on.
Oh, I thought it was quite.
There's always something going on.
You get the app.
You get on your phone.
You sign up.
If you haven't already got your membership,
use a promo code nation when you sign up.
And then you get in there and start looking,
I'm not sure.
I haven't seen,
I'm not sure what the islanders,
the Rangers have done in their last,
they'll show you.
They're going to show you right on there.
So I bet 365 is the number one
online betting partner in the world.
Let's take a peek.
We have a huge Buffalo shots parlay.
They play Philly tonight.
Sean,
shot, shot, show, show, show, show,
show, shot, shot, shot, shot,
All these guys that hit this total of four, their last five, or all five of their last five.
Devorak for two, Jack Quinn for two, Alex Tucker for two, O, Tippet for two, Tade's Thompson for two.
Parlay those all together, plus 430.
Big number.
And the senators, they get their Rangers at home.
That's kind of someone we've been picking on all year.
Rangers at home suck.
Sends, have they got it back together or was it just Vancouver?
We find out tonight, the puck line is minus one and a half.
That pays plus two, ten.
There you go.
Bet three, six five.
Those are our bets.
They don't need to be yours.
No, it has to be, you know.
But it's endless.
The options.
And Rets 20 to 1 on the wild.
Very nice.
Cup features.
Pick it up.
At 365, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
You know who's a mopey prick right now is that J.T. Miller.
Oh, yeah.
It's bad.
You see his post game?
Oh, yeah.
Captain.
Yeah.
He is a captain.
Yeah.
Unlike, yeah.
Yeah.
Something like that.
Super chat.
Richard as well.
It is about Richard.
For the youth centers of Calgary, you comment during the show,
put up some dough.
We take the dough and donate it to the great cause.
It is the U.S.
Centers of Calgary.
Binder, needs to know a good bar in Seattle going there this weekend.
Need recommendations to watch the Sahas.
Unreal.
Well, you're in good shape because the stadium district south of the old downtown has got
lots of great bars.
It's a bunch of breweries.
They'll probably be busy too, so get there early.
There's a place called Sluggers that I'm particularly partial to.
It's very, very dive barry.
There's two floors.
bars all over long and skinny enter both sides
over TVs
bars. Mooner and I got blind
in one time it was like a blues
live music but kind of a blues bar
wants to watch the Seahawks game
oh see I thought he was going that is a good point
so it looks like he's going to sit down and watch the entire game
I would not recommend sluggers for that
unless it's hard to interpret
yeah maybe he's going to be mad
hard to interpret need recommendations to watch
the Seahawks game
it's not hard to inter is Jack reading
this shit.
Jack could figure this on you to do it.
Good God.
Oh, it's hard to interpret. What are you talking about? I need a
bar to watch the game in. Here's the thing.
If you're going to Seattle, are you going to Seattle to watch
the sports bar? You're going to pre-game a bar. That's not a bad move.
Go. He's just going to be there. I would recommend
getting a ticket. Yeah, I would too. I would recommend if you're going
to fly to the town, I'd get on a one of those.
I'm going to be there this weekend means that he had plans to be there.
Can we get boss to be playing? Where should I watch?
Let's get boss to clarify this.
Check the comments.
We need to know if it's going to
Lots of good options for you.
Either way, I'm going to say if you're in Seattle,
get into the blues bar.
Next.
I said I was blind.
Hands of Dan.
30 bucks.
Three goals.
Only four of the top nine forwards have a
point per game over point five.
Can someone explain to me
how any of those guys can't be bumped
to the fourth line to make room for a ribble?
There's no first line.
It's not like anyone is lighting.
the world on fire. It's a very good point.
They might not want Matt
Vayegreggardin around these bums.
Can we clip that?
Oh.
It can't be a positive vibe
as good as the core is.
Hashtag winning culture.
It is a reasonable thought
to go, you know what?
You're doing good, you're on a
role, you're in a good situation.
Stay there and play.
Yeah.
you don't need to help us fail
and maybe subjected to
Husk's I need to win coaching
so you have to sit on the fourth line
do not roll this kid up unless you go
even though there's no fourth line
yeah if you're going to play the piss out of
I'm taking cheap shots it's a joke
but I actually believe that
that Craig and the management
could be looking at us going
he's in a good spot he's comfortable
we get to see him he's scoring
he's playing what
what's the rich
What's the now?
The other side is the kids.
What do we've got to do here?
I get the sense that post-trade deadline
there'll be more room for guys like Gridden to play.
That's the hope at least.
Thank you, handsome Dan.
HDVR.
Every time the flame score, handsome Dan.
We're texting.
We're homies now, eh?
Shelley, what's the best practice
when you are breaking your fast?
I feel my triple cheese, XL fries and milkshake
missed the mark.
I went far last week.
I went really hard enough.
My brother, I grew up with that man,
and he did the exact same thing.
He did it.
It wasn't a triple cheese,
but it was some burgers from a fast food joint.
You better be close to home.
I know how I feel if I've gone a long time
and have coffee.
It's like, clear a path, folks.
Don't be, don't be, when the train's coming.
Get some kombucha.
To the stage.
Tracks.
Yeah.
So the triple Chi, XL fries,
and oh, milkshake.
So you've got the gut and the lactose.
Oh, man.
Milk was a bad choice.
You need that, you know what you need?
Like when teams win the pennant, they put the plastic wrap up,
just follow me around and just start fucking stringing that shit up wherever I'm at.
So I don't know if we had an answer there for you, Shelly.
I'm with you, Shelly.
You know what it is?
Not what that is.
Shelly.
Be careful.
Be my.
There's a lot of people in the comments joining this fasting.
Nice.
Now, again, do console your physician before starting Dr.
Hathson for doing with it.
McLeod Law, can we talk to Peter after the show?
Just make sure we're not on the.
Some personal health liability here.
What's going on?
It says here they were watching a podcast.
And then the guy in the middle had lost a lot of weight by draining nine liters of blood out of his leg every day.
I fell off a ladder while putting up the clear tape around the bathroom.
So we had, yeah, people.
started letting nine liters of blood out of their leg every day.
It's called leaching.
Jeez.
Don't leech.
Please, don't do it.
There we go.
Don't do it.
Perfect.
Is that it?
All right.
Oh.
Let's make a deal.
Jack, $2 for every chapter.
That's right.
We were going to do the book club.
Yes.
So this was going on in the comments while you guys were talking to noodles.
This guy offered $2 every chapter.
And if I don't do it, I got to donate $2.
So a deal is a deal per day.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Don't shake yet.
Just, whoa.
Just pause here.
So a couple things.
A deal is not a deal when it comes to you.
Okay.
You don't pay your side of the equation.
So that deal's not a deal.
I like what the, can somebody say this name, was handle?
Patch as frog.
Like, is it something that I should know about or am I?
I think it might just be something that.
Patches just land.
Oh, okay.
I was like, geez, I'm in on this.
I love to read.
I read a couple chapters last night.
Really?
What are you reading?
If I showed you.
Yeah.
You'd go, yeah, you're crazy.
No, we know that already.
That's okay.
Yeah.
It's about the five eyes.
What the five eyes are?
Like eyeballs or litter?
The five eyes is Australia, Canada, USA, UK, is it,
is it New Zealand?
And they had the spy network.
Oh, good.
And it's real.
Like it's five eyes and how it became.
Because that's stuff you need to know, Dean.
If you're going to be GM of the flames one day.
Dean's looking for the appropriate drop here.
He's not sure where to go.
There's the kooky.
Where's my pseudoscience button?
Jack, are you signing up for this deal?
That's not really a deal.
Because you won't pay your debt, yeah.
Yes, I will.
It's for the kids.
You vote his pizza for two years.
Like, let's be honest.
Where's my lasagna?
Where's my zan?
Actually, you're not allowed on the Bill's bandwagon until I get my lozania.
Screw you.
Those Jared money, he's everyone money.
Oh, good.
Is that true, John?
Are you a great father like that?
Yeah.
Old foot dog's not going to be happy with his son.
Yeah.
Foot daddy.
My dad will be in town soon.
He can take care of my dad.
Yeah.
A good dad always does.
Like, coming down.
Were you not saying that you were going to?
going to do the lasagna.
Yes, I was the night of the stream.
But I wasn't sure if Brett was eating or not.
He didn't ask.
So, Perfsky's.
And it turns out he wasn't.
Well, if you had made lasagna, I'd have made an exception.
Well, until the next excuse.
Bills play Saturday.
So just go to Rets, live stream now.
Let's go.
Thursday tomorrow?
Sure.
Game day tomorrow.
Game day.
Four day work weeks again.
They sound good.
You've been harping this for 15 years and I'm with you, brother.
Last week, how many days?
Four.
Was it a four day?
Was there?
Was it all?
No, no, it was a full.
Anyway, back to you, Rhett.
I'm so concussed.
Say y'a buddies.
First star.
