I'm still getting used to that new, that new intro.
It's kind of very, you know, straight kind of like us.
Yeah, it's like, ba.
Yeah, it's like drop.
Drop as a beat.
It's like the gruden.
You know what gets me feeling kind of nice.
That's nice.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Boom.
It's very close to that.
Very nice.
Very nice.
Hey, everybody.
Welcome to the show.
It is a presentation of Bet365.
Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary at Bet,
365 official partner of the Stanley Cup playoffs must be 19 or older.
Yeah.
Download the hap and get in on the game.
And we've got it.
Super chat presentation.
Well, I mean, it's our presentation.
We're giving the money to the U.S.
centers of Calgary.
Just feels right.
We're doing.
Feels right.
And if you do donate some dough during the course of the show, we'll show your comment.
May even react to it, depending.
Have a hot take.
Yeah.
Yeah, we had the one last week
and you were going, it was just to read it and don't react
and we'll move along.
You paid thanks to your money.
Yeah, sometimes that's the way to do it.
Just good judgment.
Personal appearance smack and questionable language.
It's good stuff.
Good stuff.
How was everyone's weekend?
Jack, do you have any crow?
Crow.
I would like to chew on.
Do you need some of my hot taketude from last week?
I think right might have lit a fire under a specific.
This guy.
Defensible.
Guys,
Aw,
half an awful.
Get them out of there.
I was just doing the math.
Since that,
two games,
four goals,
13 shots,
55,
56 minutes of ice.
Well,
thanks for watching.
And if that's,
if that's the motivation
that they need.
I'm happy for them.
I don't want to see anyone
do poorly.
I'm pumped.
Some guys are doing well.
That's right.
So you know,
maybe if Weiger would have taken it.
I could do a different way.
I invited Weiger on the show.
No,
eh?
You asked him.
Did you?
Yeah, through the channels.
Yeah, yeah.
It's funny.
I've been hearing some back channeling
about Wrette and Wigger 2.
Oh, it's all good.
It's all good.
IT's.
Let's get into it.
Opening statements, McLeod Law.
Sometimes things go sideways.
Sometimes you know what's coming.
Sometimes you don't.
It's like, I'd better lawyer up for this.
Yeah, they'll take care of you
when you should be eating crow.
You'll just not have to them.
Yeah, McLeod Law.
They are Calgary.
Calgary-based, Calgary-born, and here for Calgarians.
They are very proud of those roots, like the communities they serve.
Cloud Law, varied, diverse, and committed to making a positive impact on our city as we get
into the opening statements.
A lot's to get to here today.
Pinder report coming up.
We're going to have a guest join us in 15.
And born in Regina with Calgary roots before going to the Western League.
They're your clues.
right. Yeah, you know who. Oh, yeah, I guess. I was going to say, I can't believe Jordan
Everly is coming on the show. I think it is. That would be awesome. Oh, where do we want to start?
Yeah, I don't know where I want to start. I think I know where we should start. I had to,
I got some of tickets to a game up there that made me cringe. Did you really? In Mudsville?
Who would have that kind of pull with you that you would go to those lengths?
sister.
See?
But even then.
You can choose a lot of things in life, Dean.
You can't choose your family.
Yeah, that's true.
You know what?
We talked about it.
Empty net goals.
Just do them.
Important.
I thought we did this lecture.
We did this TED talk after game one with the Kings.
And it's accessible online.
Yes.
If you didn't catch it live, right?
This is not into the air and gone forever.
This lives forever on the internet.
Game one, we saw the Kingsmith's three empty nets.
Yeah.
Empty net goals, holding on to leads.
These are all just.
Posts and in would be nice too rather than posting out.
Saw a few of those, Kevin Fiala.
Game one, Kings had a four nothing lead, blew it.
Mm-hmm.
Did manage to win on a fortunate goal, you would say, in regulation.
Game three, a third period lead, blew it, lost with,
a couple of empty netters, seven four.
And then, uh,
challenge there wasn't it?
Stupid.
Yeah, there's dumb.
Then there's that.
That was.
People were asking, could you fire a coach mid series?
Is that ever happened before?
It had to be considered.
But here's the catch with it all.
There's no way that's his decision.
I was going to say there's no.
Yes and no.
Like I think yes and no.
Well, so here we go.
My guy that doesn't have a take.
Fuck sakes.
Finish your thought and then I'll, I'll give you my mind.
somebody makes the decision and usually every team has a video guy correct so L.A. doesn't and the coach
was staring down at the floor going oh I'm going to call this so the video guys in his ear and the
conversation you know this because you've been behind a bench and you've got it dialed in so okay let's hear it
no no one in this room was on the L.A. bench that night what are the odds that the coach made the
decision as opposed to so the question the coaches have asked is like okay what percentage do we
have a win in this this overturn oh my god like is it 100% of course we're challenging if it's 50 50
now i got to go okay like if i win this challenge we probably go up 3-0 is that worth the risk
if we lose it we put them on a power play we probably the power play summoned at a quarter so
like that's that's kind of the decision sure isn't it 12 100 listeners to that what was your take
what was your opinion in there you did the video coach would likely say here's how comfortable i
feel with this challenge and the head coach has to say, do I have the stones for this or not?
Because he's the guy that has to say, we're willing to take the penalty kill if I challenge and
I'm wrong. I think the video coach says, this is my confidence level. The head coach says,
I'm doing it or I'm not. So you've stated the obvious, which is exactly. So the guy up top makes the
call and the coach either falls through with it or not. Yeah, that was all I was saying.
So what I said. No, you said one guy made this. The head coach has to be a part of this too.
That's all. Anyway, um, he's the guy that's going to get run if it doesn't want.
work, right?
But if you want to go even a bit further,
my guess is
he just
he has to be led to believe that they're
that they're going to win this challenge.
Right.
Because we all knew what was at stake
if,
if it, I'd be, they were going to score
on that power play. You just knew they were going
to score if it was, if it wasn't goaly
interference. And from the looks of things,
There was no chance.
The goal interference.
What were you seeing that even would say that 20% chance that you were going to get this over?
Like I thought maybe it was before the play went around the net.
But not.
Kemper kind of just fell back trying to protect the goal line.
And LaLan made some good points on the panel.
He's been really good.
I think he's great insight sort of opens up to what's going on behind the scenes.
He says, look, we had a rule in Detroit.
Like unless you think you're 100% winning this, we don't challenge at all.
But I don't think every team is that.
and Jim Hiller probably had that thought
if I can win this challenge somehow
these things are squirrelly
sometimes you're rulings you don't expect
are the oilers going to come back
from 4-3 with that much time left
and we could be up 3-0
I don't think he should have done it at all
but I bet you that was nagin like if we could
I would have tied it at 4 right that's correct
so if he wins the challenge it's 4-3
sure I see yeah yeah so you're up
and a chance to go up 3-0 on a team
but I'm watching this happen
I'm like you can't challenge you can't challenge because
it's not just a team you're giving
life to. It's two of the best players on planet Earth and a team that has very little confidence
if you win this challenge. I was watching. You can't give them one more breath with my mother
and law. She thought I was like the smartest person in the world because like you cannot
challenge first time ever she's thought this is not goalie in her time. She's finally recognized.
And you know what's going to happen is because they're wrong. The other team, the oilers will get
a power play and they will score on the power. Right. And what it'd take 10 seconds?
Yeah. How did you know this?
We've seen this movie before.
Really smart over here.
Yeah, I don't know.
And now is that the turning point of the series?
No, the turning point is that the Kings have not being able to hang on to leads.
100%.
Or put their fucking foot down.
They sat back with 14 minutes left.
They weren't four.
They're the better team.
Go play.
Yeah.
So there's two things happening here.
The opening 40 minutes.
the Kings have been night and day better than the Emmington Oilers.
And then what Rett's talking about is a posture change.
And Jim Hiller says, okay, we're up to, this forecheck that's been so good at turning
over Pucks and creating chance for us, no, no, we're going to just drop back into like a
one-two or one-three-one or something really, really safe.
The other thing that's happening that I don't know how to measure how much it's equating
or not is they're really, really shortening their bench.
They didn't roll their fourth line.
They sat Kuzmenko for like eight minutes.
They were rolling eight forwards in the third.
No wonder they looked like shit in overtime.
And they're rolling 4D essentially.
So if A, you kept your aggressive posture, would you close these out?
Don't know.
And B, if you kept your aggressive posture, would you be able to go longer bench?
Because you might be rewarded with a goal.
You've been the better team when you've played normally.
It's just, it's a classic prevent defense.
Yeah, right?
Because that it's, and to that point, last night, shots in the first and second,
2815 Los Angeles.
They were dominated.
In the third and overtime, 3313, 13, Edmonton, 177.
were the shots on goal in overtime.
It was close.
They just gave the reins to the Oilers and credit to them.
They took it.
They got a bounce.
We can take a look at it.
The 3-2 goal is, I mean, it's a horse.
They've gotten a bunch of bounces.
Yeah, it's a, but yeah,
especially when you're watching two teams that already have the greatest
bounces in hockey history from the hockey gods, it's frustrating.
Right?
Like the game winner in game one, you would say is probably a bounce that beats Stuart
Skinner.
And even Corey Perry's goal, the first goal in this game last night.
Yeah, it gets knocked down.
he happens to bat.
And if that goes off his sticking in the net,
that's high sticking no goal.
But because it knocks it down to the ice,
the high sticks measured by his shoulder,
not the crossbar.
Like, it's,
there's a lot of bounces both ways.
And the penalty in overtime is so soft.
Connor's trying to jump around a guy who's face the other way.
But there's calls that didn't go the other way.
I just think what you swallow the whistles,
that's a tough one in overtime.
Well,
let's go back to the real problem.
Byfield doesn't get it out.
100%.
44 seconds left.
That's,
that's it.
I actually thought it was a great play by him trying to skate it.
Let's go to that goal.
That's, of course, the three three, sorry, Jack, the three goal.
I actually thought it was a great play by him trying to skate it,
not just hammering it out and icing it.
Yeah.
But you got to win that out.
Bush made a better.
Yeah, your boy.
My boy, Bush made a hell of a play to keep it in.
Yeah.
And obviously, it's just before that.
Byfield will never turn a puck over like that again.
There is there.
I'll send you the,
the screenshot of that because it's peak pain.
You should be up 3-1 if you're the LA Kings and if you're the oilers,
you're saying like, how good do we feel?
You could be up 3-1 or the series could be over if they don't make that bone-headed
challenge.
Yeah.
You're tied.
You still have to win that game, but you've been the better team to Rett's point.
It's just that they seem to run out of gas in the third.
And the other, the other element is...
I don't think they run out of gas.
They play differently.
Yeah, sure.
And maybe it's both, right?
That's what I was saying before us.
I don't know how much shortening the bench has to do with posture versus just you can't run 4D for two periods in game four.
That's basically what they tried to do.
And Gavrakov's over for two and a half minutes one shift.
Of course, you know, they're all over on.
The penalty gets called.
Well, I don't see what that coach is seeing.
And maybe it's, again, he gets it out, chips it by.
He's probably getting the puck and getting an empty netter.
He's full speed against guys standing still.
He needs to find it.
Flip it and get it and score in an empty.
net and you're 3-1 going home and you're the best home ice team in hockey.
And instead you've given life to this team with two superstars and not much else right now.
That's it.
There's your screenshot.
44 and a half seconds.
Empty net.
How does that not get out?
How?
And I thought we learned this lesson in game one.
We talked about it.
Fellas,
you can't crack the door an inch.
You can't.
They'll take it all.
And it does feel like when they have the goalie out,
it's an automatic.
So if you let them.
get to within one, you're basically tied.
And that's why I was screaming so loud when they get that crazy bounce off
a shin pad to make it three, two, because it's like now you're tied.
Yeah.
Then it gets the OT, as we mentioned, 17, 7.
Oilers, it just felt like it was a matter of time.
Once you turn it off the way the Kings did, halfway through even earlier,
five minutes into the third, maybe even the whole third, it's hard to get going again.
Look at this past from Mikey Anderson, right to dry saddle.
Poor guy.
They're all bagged.
He puts it right on his tape.
anywhere.
There's one out of 360 degrees,
there's one degree that's right on this tape.
He's found it.
And,
yeah,
there's probably two guys in the ice
that you don't want it to get to.
It went to one of them.
Drysiddle buries it.
There you see it.
Their 49th shot.
I don't like watching this.
Yeah.
The other one was,
I don't know how,
if that Fiala post was ringing in your ears
for about two minutes,
you're like,
that's game there.
I think that would have made a 4-2 if I'm correct?
Or was it over time?
I think it was 4-2.
Okay.
Well,
whatever.
I mean, that's,
two posts,
but both teams have posts.
It's just,
it's a lot.
I still feel like,
and I don't know
what your guys' thoughts are,
I feel like L.A.
is the better team.
I think that they did,
but they're not closing it out.
Yeah.
And look,
home ice has been huge in this.
I don't think you can pair
Clemberg and Bouchard together
on the road.
They made that adjustment
when they came home.
They had like 74% ozone start,
which is incredible.
You,
the L.A. Kings can put on
whoever they want on the ice after every whistle if it's climburg and bouchard together they'll feast
and so last change because of how thin the oilers are on the blue line without echolm and because
they really only have one line going it's whoever leon and connor are playing with like that's a
huge huge thing for l.A. to have in game five but now i'm just into the psychology of this like if you're
up three after 40 i still think you're puckering if you're the kings aren't you yes now because
you've proven that you can't it's it's a shit show third people
periods are an absolute disaster for you.
Yeah. And if you're the oilers, it doesn't matter how far back here, you still believe.
That's why the kids, we're going to have something to bounce up somebody's ass and then
another guy's heading in.
The kings have to believe that they can outplay this team and continue to score.
The goal tending has done.
If you look at the three goals, yeah, like, it's, they're all pretty fortunate circumstances
for the others to score on, but the kings have had those two.
Like, you got to come out and win, oh.
it could be over.
It's so easy this thing can be over already.
Yeah, I mean,
yeah, they've obviously they won game two and they had leads in the other three.
It's significant ones.
Yeah, like it's,
they have been the better tea.
I just,
I don't know to your point.
It's there's got at this point,
I think now some psychology starts to kind of,
and maybe that's the best thing for the Kings is maybe if it's three,
one and the third, they know they can't sit back.
Maybe everyone.
There's nothing that's more.
clear is what taking their foot
off the gas does. Do you have Jim Hiller
post? They did play it right.
Again, if that kid chips
it out, it just gets a fireman.
So, Jim
Hiller, head coach of the Kings
has asked about... Has it slipped since
Thursday. Probably not. And
he's asked about their posture in the
third year, which is what, Brett, and
boom, I've been talking about here.
Jim, how do you change
your approach in the third period to better close
out games? How do I change?
next question please we're that far away on the empty net cue chips that one out be sure it makes a
good play we're not even talking about this so how about that sentiment in the room was it the first
40 minutes that's your favorite question too by the way so i just sound like that's ready to abandon
what he's done that's that's the scary thing right is like they're still going to park the bus up to
well and again he's not wrong he's not wrong he's not wrong about he's not wrong he's not the scary thing right is like they're still going to park the bus up to well
And again, he's not wrong.
And it's the same.
It's the Bouchard
conversation.
Bouchard effed up last night, too.
Yeah, he was two goals.
He made some terrible plays.
But God,
really contributed as well.
And it's the same as this.
What he says is not wrong.
If you hit the net or you just chip it out,
this conversation is not being had.
And the reporter is like,
but we are having this conversation
because three out of four games, this has happened.
Yeah.
Because at 3-1, they had the shots of the Euler band, and even McDavid.
That was a frustrated team.
That was a McDavid might leave type.
It just looked like they were out of answers.
They were out of, they were frustrated completely.
And then a shot, doubt he can't clear it off of a leg.
Perry's goal shouldn't.
That's, I was, when I was watching that game last night, I'm going to, you know what?
We hate Perry.
God, he's still good.
Oh, my God, does he want to win?
Right?
It's wild.
He's so effective.
He just doesn't move that well, but he's just so smart.
He's so smart and dialed in and wanting to win.
You've got to appreciate.
And he finds a way to lie on top of Kemper by accident,
not get called.
He's underneath Gavrikov and holds him down for 10 seconds by the L.A.
Net in the middle of a high pressure sequence.
Like he's a master of the dark arts.
And he's contributing on office.
So he's, I don't think, I mean, he scores.
It's a hell of a play.
but I think it's lucky.
Like, I don't know.
Didn't he tip it?
And then he bats it out of the air and it bounces right over to where he can swat it.
And again, if that bats into the net, it's a high stick because the crossbar is the measure.
But because it's down to the ice, the shoulder's the measure.
And it's not like it's again.
Big game coming up.
They got some bounces.
Big game coming up.
Homer series.
It's one of the best home ice teams in the regular season.
The best.
That's good.
Starting, it began last Wednesday on our, again, it's, we're a company, we're good partners,
we're good teammates.
Oilers Nation, YouTube, I believe up in Edmonton.
Oilers Nation.
Yeah, that's right.
Seems familiar.
Devin Dubnick, former NHL goaltender and what I, I'm led to believe, just all around great guy.
We'll find out for ourselves.
There it is.
Ask Doobie, new podcast on the network.
You can find it on the Oilers Nation YouTube channel, weekly fan questions, thoughts,
opinions from Devin Dubnick, who joins us right now on the Crystal Waters insider hotline.
Dubeneck, how are we doing?
Yeah, thanks for having me.
Well, we teeted up.
So what did you say?
He's Regina.
Regina born, but played some hockey in Calgary before going to the Western League.
And then, yeah, what a journey.
I mean, some great years of Minnesota.
So what were the, because you have the Calgary ties, right?
Yeah, I call Calgary.
I say I grew up in Calgary because I did.
I was born in Regina.
I lived in Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and then got to Calgary when I was about 10 years old.
So most of my, all my important hockey years and school years and everything was Calgary up until, I'd still go back there in the summer until I started playing in Edmonton full time.
And then we stayed up in Edmonton.
More importantly, let's talk about the important things that are happening in life.
What's on your head?
Not a Bill's guy?
Yes, I am a Bill's guy.
Yes, I fell in love with the world.
the bills a few years ago.
And just, you know, I love football.
I never really had a team.
Of course, I cheer the Vikings on living in Minnesota here, but just love football in general,
fantasy, all that stuff.
And then I just started watching the bills and Josh Allen.
And what's their not to like?
I mean, they're one of the most exciting teams.
You've got to love Josh Allen the way he plays.
You know, he's tough as nails.
He's a beast.
And I just fell in love with watching him.
So I'm a huge fan.
I do think there's one thing not to like, but that's fine.
We'll move along.
What?
Well, they're just kind of missing one thing, that's all.
Shut up.
It's just a matter of time.
I can be a big Bill's fan, but I don't have that, like, tie where things bother me.
So Rep played there for how many years?
Five.
And you were there for some of the pain or right after the pain?
No, for some reason in Saskatchewan, we had the Rochester feed as a kid growing up,
and so we watched the bills lose four straight.
And then I went to Buffalo, and we lost.
in the final and then it's the curse of Buffalo and my wife's from there and we're it's you take it
all in part of the experience it's part of the experience are we going to a game this year you're
going to come to the new stadium and i would love to oh we're going yes oh good look at this
bruce smith at the big tree isn't that yes man bruce smith at the just getting cranked uh i didn't
know we'd be stocking bills uh that's exciting because we could wear that hat on the show we could
pivot. It has been, it's from a coaching perspective, there's been some nightmare moments in this
Oilers King series. Blown leads come from behind. Oilers tie it and give up a rough goal in game one,
but they've, they've been persistent to, from what you've seen, how much of this is credit to the
Oilers for stepping things up. We talked about it earlier. Shots were 3313 Edmonton in the third
and overtime yesterday. And how much of it is LA? I don't know if it's sub-com.
if it's by design from the coach,
that they just take their foot off the gas,
it seems like,
and let the door open for Edmonton.
Yeah, it's a little bit of both.
You know, LA was going to that.
It's almost like an 05-4 check.
I mean, they weren't even across the red line.
And I get it, they do defend well,
but you just saw Edmonton just went at them
over and over and over again.
And, you know, there wasn't a lot of scoring chances at the start.
they had no choice.
They couldn't get anything on the rush,
which was by design for L.A.
So they had to chip it in and go get it.
But eventually they ended up wearing them down
because L.A. is just trying to do that for too long.
They have no pressure the other way,
no ozone time.
The Edmonton players are too good.
You know, McDavid Dryside all out there,
every other shift.
You just can't contain them.
And that what we saw from Edmonton
is what I've kind of been waiting to see
for the whole series is the previous
of seasons, Edmonton would go in against L.A.
And they had this confidence of swagger.
They were the better team.
You know, the games went 7, 6, 5 throughout the series.
But Edmonton was always that power play.
Every time there was a penalty called, it was almost an automatic goal.
And L.A. was kind of hanging on for dear life.
And then all of a sudden, the start of this series, pre-series,
they were talking about L.A. being more prepared, better built for this situation.
And then you watch game one minus the comeback.
You watch game two.
And it was L.A. that was the confident team.
They were the ones that were going out there and walking all over Edmonton
and making it look like they were the favorites.
They were the confident ones.
And it was worrisome for Oilers fans to watch that because they were just,
they were getting dominated.
They were forcing stuff, ugly mistakes.
LA was snapping it around.
The penalty kill for Edmonton was horrific.
Still not entirely sure if that's fixed completely,
but at least they got some kills last game.
But now finally, we got a little bit with the company.
back in game three.
But that third period in overtime, that was a different Oilers hockey team.
And they need to find a way to do that all the time.
And obviously, LA is not going to sit back in an 05 at puck drop.
And maybe they might not after.
But I just thought the jump and the aggressiveness from Edmonton, especially in overtime,
they're go, go, go.
But when L.A. came in and tried to cross the blue line, try to do anything on the rush,
all of a sudden, Edmonton was pressuring.
They were aggressive.
They were cutting everything off.
that L.A. didn't have the opportunity to come across the line,
make a drop pass, snap one across,
and have a shot coming downhill.
Everything gave them nothing.
And that energy and jump, wherever that came from,
needs to be from the start of the game.
Don't wait until you're down two goals.
Walk us through your assessment of the three goalies you've seen in this series
and maybe what lies ahead.
That was a big decision for the Oilers to switch.
Maybe not a difficult one, I suppose,
when you look at the body you work through, what, five-ish periods?
But given your background,
made of the goalies. You know what? Before the series, I said in my mind, I was like, it would take
so much for me to go to Pickard here, and that's nothing against Pickard, but I just truly believe
that if Edmonton wants to win a Stanley Cup, that they have, Stuart Skinner's got to take them there.
After two games with just the talk around, you know, obviously Skinner, he hadn't played
well. He put, he led in 11 goals in two games, but you go back through the two games is like,
what is he going to do? Like, you can start picking it apart and being like, you know,
you know, maybe you could have saved that one.
Maybe you could have saved that one.
Of course, you need some save sprinkled in here and there.
But the way the Oilers were playing, I mean, they weren't giving up shots.
They're just giving up great A's.
So we're standing back there and just bad turnovers and everything.
And it didn't really matter who was in the net at that point.
But leading into the playoffs, all this talk about the Oilers goaltending, that pressure is there.
And everybody was just ready to explode on them.
So going into game three, I got asked after game two.
It's like you almost have to go to Pickard.
because just the way the guys are playing in front of them
and every single goal that goes in is like Skinner sucks
and everybody blows up and they needed something.
They needed some boost.
And the thing with Skinner is he is very stiff and positional
when he plays.
So you don't get a lot of like exciting plays and exciting saves.
And Picks is awesome.
And he does what he does, he plays the way is it puck stop or he's a little bit of
street hockey in him.
But he battles the team,
His teammates love him.
And so you're going to get exciting saves out of him that maybe don't need to be exciting,
but they're going to be.
And for whatever reason, the Oilers just needed a boost.
The fans needed a boost.
It's like a big save here or there and get going.
And you watch the guys the way they play in front of them.
They play confidently in front of them.
Some people might hold their breath a little bit when some shots come in.
But it certainly doesn't seem like the guys in front of them do.
So at that point, I think it was important that they needed to make a change just purely for a boost to the team in front of them.
What about Kemper? What do you thought? He's announced today as a Vezna finalist, by the way.
That's awesome. Yeah, he, listen, look at overtime last night. I mean, that was one of those games where you're, you're thinking there's a chance that the puck comes down the ice and something crazy happens in L.A. wins this game because Kemper made was making, every two minutes was making a 10 Beller.
You know, four, five, six, seven saves in overtime when Edmonton was just all over him. He looked incredibly good. He's looked good for the majority of,
of the series just kind of blips here and there
when Edmonton pours it on.
So he's been good.
Obviously,
Edmonton's got to be in the mind a little bit
with combacks.
When you're up two plus goals in a game,
it feels like you can never close it out.
So I think, you know, with playing with Kemp's,
he's an emotional guy.
And I said from game one,
I think it's important for Edmonton to get in his kitchen a little bit.
You know, just give him some bumps.
It's easy to say.
stay focused when everything's good and you're winning a hockey game and you're feeling good.
But if they can get up a couple goals and start to rattle him a little bit, just a couple
pokes here and there. He's an emotional guy and he'll get fired up and thrown off a little bit.
So I think there's an opportunity there for Edmonton.
Were you with him in Phoenix?
No, in many.
In many.
I got traded in Minnesota.
There was three of us here.
It was me, Baxter and Kemper, and then I played a few years with Kemper here.
How much have you been falling in the wild?
It's been an incredible season for them, the really, really hot start, the huge injuries.
and then this series, which I think is surprised a lot of people.
Yeah, it has been surprising.
And, you know, the two games they lost to, they played extremely well.
And it's good for that because it's a scary series for them coming into,
having gone 0 and 3 in the regular season against them.
And then you lose game one in Vegas.
And like, to just not have a winning feeling, Vegas is a really good hockey team, obviously,
but that can just start to pile up quickly.
And they stuck with it.
I mean, their top guys are incredible, although Wade Boldie's playing.
Caprosov, Caprizov, sorry, and Eric Seneck,
like they needed that hot start at the start of the season
because when those guys went away, like,
it was tough sledding for the wild for quite a while during the regular season,
but their hot run at the start kind of gave them that buffer
to be able to go through and finally clinch in game 82.
And these guys are dangerous with that group,
and they're not going anywhere either.
So I think, I don't know if they get past Vegas or not.
I think Vegas is still a threat.
They should be happy.
They're at 2-2.
They just missed an opportunity to be up 3-1.
They definitely have a chance,
but I think there's a lot of good things coming for Minnesota going forward.
This Booiam defensemen,
as well as about 15 million in dead cap space
about to come off for a little spendy-spendie in the off-season.
You would know what it's like as a goalie.
I guess it's just a sports thing.
A lot of times until you do something,
a lot of people are going to think,
well, this guy can't do it.
it. And right now for Connor Hellebuck, that's the playoffs. In his last 13 playoff games, he's
three and 10 with a 4.53 goals against it an 863 save percentage, who is during the regular
season, the best goalie on any given night on the planet. A lock for the business. What are you
seeing with with Hella Buck? And I just, I went over the goals kind of looking that he's not getting
a lot of help on a lot of them, but it's not like he's totally off the hook either. There's just,
there's a lot that's plaguing the Jets as they,
I mean, they just bled out in these two games in St. Louis.
It's a strange anomaly.
And I thought maybe this year we'd see something a little different.
It's obviously, I think, the best Jets team of the sample size that we have for playoffs.
I don't know what it is.
I don't know if teams have the ability to scout Winnipeg
and scout their weaknesses going into a playoff series,
because it certainly seems like watching the last game,
these goals that are going in from the point,
there's just these crossing screens.
And the Jets defensemen,
they're kind of chasing guys across the front of the net.
They're hitting bodies.
You know, they're not bad goals,
but why is it happening now and not in the regular season?
We're in the regular season.
He doesn't give up more than two goals ever, you know,
and he just gave up 12 in two games.
So it is concerning.
I'm a big fan of Hella Buck.
him well. He's a great guy. You watch him in the regular season. And if this was if this was one
playoffs or two playoffs, I think the concern is this is four years now in a row. And what is it? You know,
why, why is it? And I wish I had a better answer for you. It's, I'm always wanted to jump on
the goalie side and take and take the goalie side and say, you know, it's, we like to talk and
everybody makes bigger of certain things than they are. Man, four years in a row going from Vesna to
to low 800s.
I don't know.
It's crazy to me.
And hopefully they can go back home and take a breath and get back on track
because that was a beat down in St. Louis.
No,
they can't go to Comrie there,
can they?
No,
no,
no.
I don't know.
I don't know.
What happens?
You don't take him out of the night.
Yeah.
Unless maybe one game,
if you want to have a quick leash,
but they got to be bad goals,
right?
Like,
he's got to be getting just beat clean on,
on shots.
Like,
end of the day,
you watch,
again,
there's,
the two goals last game was the breakaway from Thomas,
which was the fifth goal,
and then kind of the weird poke check play from Shen.
And the other goals,
there are point shots with crossing screens that are going off bodies.
So yes,
I'm not letting them off the hook.
That's playoffs.
They're going to be firing pucks from everywhere.
You've got to find a way to get eyes on it and get in front of it.
But it's going to take a lot unless the game's out of reach.
No, you're not starting somebody over.
No offense to Suez-Skinner,
but Connor Hellebach's not to her skinner.
You're not throwing out anybody else in there.
Yeah.
And then on the flip side, it's a guy that we've seen get hot.
Bennington made 30 saves.
He's won 13 straight home starts.
There was a lot of people at the four nations.
It's like, we're candidates not have a hope.
Look at the, look at the net minding discrepancy.
And he's, he was great there and he's been great since.
And it's, if you thought that the jets were in trouble,
because the blues were the worst possible opponent,
you might have been right because even in the games at Winnipeg won in Winnipeg, they were nail biters.
Yeah, and I was thinking the exact same thing as everybody else.
This is not an eighth seed.
This is not who you want to face in the first round.
They're the best team in the league, I believe, from four nations on and absolutely rolling.
Bittington is, listen, I got my qualms about Binner and his antics during the games,
which I think is completely unnecessary and embarrassing for him.
however this guy is a gamer
absolute gamer he's he's got a Stanley Cup win
I said talking about him going into
four nations this guy this guy steps it up
he's been in big situations he's got it done
and that that's an asset that is that's a real thing
and he's showing it right now not only is he feeling good
coming off the regular season because that team is
on absolute fire but this guy knows how to perform
when it matters and he is like you said heating up
right now and he's
got a little bit of that screw you attitude, had it in the Four Nations and shut the door.
He's going to have it in this series going up against the President's trophy team,
and it's dangerous if you're going to pick Jets.
So he needs that?
Like, is that his fuel?
Could he just be a normal guy and cool and not already just suck a net?
Like, he needs to think it's him against the world?
Maybe.
Maybe that's it.
I don't know.
I don't know him real well.
I've always had respect for the way he plays.
I just, the antics to me have always kind of been completely unnecessary.
You know, if he throws down one game, if he gets in a fight, I'll stop talking.
But I've seen a lot of fake fighting, a lot of fake anger.
And it's always when he's playing like garbage, too.
That's what else.
It's fake.
Like if you're if you're actually that mad and you're that fired up, it's going to happen sometimes at any time in a game.
You're going to get fired up.
I try to fight Gabriel, Landa Scott.
It was zero zero in the third period.
I was having a great game.
And Gabe is one of the best guys ever.
but for some reason when I played against them, my wires crossed.
And that's going to happen.
But for me, watching Bittington, it's just, it's always when you're playing like crap.
You had a small sample there in Colorado.
You see him score on the weekend.
How miraculous is that?
How much do guys love them?
Because it's a ways away, but you could tell how much that return and that goal meant
to Landiscag and the abs.
And that's what it is.
You're seeing exactly what Landis is all about.
And again, like I said, I used to battle with them.
so hard and I get traded to LA and he was one of my best buddies
on the team and honestly one of the best captains that I've ever been around.
He just, that's obviously a unique group.
Nate McKinns and the unique guy, one of the best players on the planet,
but just the whole dynamic of the room like Gabe Landisog is the leader of that group
through and through top to bottom and everybody knows it.
Everything he does on and off the ice, he says the right things at the right time.
Everybody looks to him and he'll go out there, he'll score, fight, kill penalties,
power play. He does literally everything and can be on the front page of GQ magazine at the same time.
So, I mean, there's a reason that you're seeing the reaction from everybody that you're getting
for him coming back because he is, he is that special of a person.
So you've been out of the game for a little bit now.
You've got the podcast here with the Nation Network and Oilers Nation going.
What have he been doing the last few years?
A lot of coaching. I get three boys, 11, 9 and 7.
So doing that with all three of them, that was kind of, uh,
majority of the winter here and and just started to get back going with this stuff.
I kind of missed it. I didn't do too much of it throughout the winter and just decided I wanted
to get back into it and really been enjoying the stretch here doing it more often and getting back involved
and then I'm going to be starting my own goal of consulting business here shortly actually going to be
launching so we'll keep our eyes out for that and I'll make sure I get some plugs in on here but
but mainly coaching the kids.
Any goalies or skaters?
My oldest was a goal, yes.
I fought him on it for a while.
Last year was his first year,
and I already lost a couple years off my life watching him.
It is not fun being a goalie parent at all.
But it was a lot of fun to work with him throughout the year.
My middle might end up being a goalie now next year too.
But my youngest is a little goal score,
and he is not touching a piece of goal equipment.
Yeah, keep it going on.
And you know, it's something we can talk to one.
summer or down the road, but we sit here and we joke about us.
Goleys are voodoo.
How do you know?
You think you got a goalie.
You don't.
You think you don't have one.
He gets red hot, that sort of thing.
Do you feel like you've got some kind of intel or a little bit of vision as to how to navigate
through these murky waters of goalies?
Or like for my kid?
No, just with the goalie consulting and just.
Oh, yes.
It's kind of what, you know, it's something that I've been thinking about for a long time.
and it's something that I wanted to do eventually.
And then I felt like it was the right time to start to put it together.
And that's kind of the thing.
My career and my career path has been all over the place.
You know, I was drafted in the first round, played in the East Coast,
American League, NHL, worked my way up to being a starter.
Everything looked great, plummeted, went from starting goalie at the start of the
season to third string in the American League by the end of the season, you know, and then
signed with Arizona, got back with Minnesota. Everything went great, you know, and, and I've
played internationally. But all these ups and downs and things that I've gone through, my, I
truly enjoy working with, with kids, you know, when I say kids, I mean all the way up through
through junior age and that and, and feel like I, I feel like I can offer something both with the on-ice
stuff that I've learned throughout my career, but also, you know,
know, that's kind of the whole part of it.
It's a journey.
It's not just the on ice stuff.
It's the off ice stuff.
It's video.
It's talking about, you know, navigating the season, navigating daily life as a goalie
in the ups and downs.
Because listen, when you're in youth hockey, we can, we can watch youth hockey and say, you
know, it's just youth hockey.
It's just a pee wee game.
It's just a Banym game.
It's not the end of the world.
Well, it is that.
It is their will to them.
And that's what they're living.
And so to be able to kind of help them through that and just get them,
get the kids to be able to play the highest level that they can play
wherever that is and let them play hockey for as long as they can play it is my goal
and just to help them through that and make them the best they can be obviously
awesome so ask duby the fan questions it's probably a lot of oilers stuff
i would imagine it's a lot of it is on oilers nation but we will take we will take
questions any questions you give us something good uh we'll we'll answer it
And we've only done one show.
So it was definitely a little weird for me to just be talking to a camera.
And I'm not an influencer by any means.
So it was a weird thing for me.
But really enjoy it.
And I think it's fun for people to get candid answers, truly candid answers about whether it's personal life on the ice.
And so that's really the goal is try to give them the most honest, candid answer to whatever question you want to ask,
as long as I'm able to answer it on social media.
What was your minor hockey team in Calgary?
Crowchild.
I played Crowchild, which I don't know if that's there anymore.
And then the Northwest Association for Banham.
Calgary Bruins.
What's Calgary Bruins?
I'm missing.
So Banham was Bannam AAA was the Stamps and the Bruins.
And then it was a Crowchow Blackhawks.
There you have it.
All right, Matt.
Well, hey, thanks for coming on.
We'll be interested to chat with you.
at greater length.
Yeah, there's a full two-hour show on that 13-14 season alone,
dubs.
Like that's incredible,
that roller coaster.
It was something.
Much for today.
We'll catch up again.
Thanks, man.
Good.
Congrats on the show.
Good to have you on.
Thanks.

Bill's fat.
Yeah.
That's something.
That was the only, it's all you had to say in that interview.
It was perfect.
Who said of Bill's hat?
Broke the ice.
It did break the ice.
He's genius.
I don't know if you did look at the,
like you guys would have remembered.
Oh, dude.
Covered the league when,
when Dubnick went from top prospect to like,
up and coming young goalie to like,
he's lost it.
It's gone.
Yeah.
Like he's done now.
Like,
you sell insurance?
What are you doing?
He was,
it wasn't even a black ace months after being a starter for the Oilers for
on his third team that year in Montreal and they're in a deep playoff run.
And somehow comes out of that depth to play the best hockey his career and basically salvaged like
almost another decade.
Yeah.
It's incredible.
Wasted first rounder.
Sure.
blew up, was dished off to Nashville, then it was done.
Two games.
And was one of the better reclamation project stories.
I don't want to overstate it, but what are some of the other ones?
He then turned into a starter for.
Rolls him.
Yeah, basically kind of the same thing.
And then Dubnick was the guy in Minnesota for five years.
Talking 60 plus starts, four years in row.
Like, not a guy, the guy.
The guy.
Devin Dubnick.
Ask Doobie.
Devon, if you can date, Mary.
Do you think those are the questions?

There's some beer. We got to see it.
At a great price. You're welcome.
They'll be out seed and doing some heavy
seeding, I would think.
All this week.
We've seen a couple of weeks ago.
Going.
Pouring it on.
Just a small little plot,
hey, Rhett, they got up there.
Yeah, just a couple acres.
Kind of a hobby by hand.
Yeah.
Kind of a hobby thing.
Is there anything else?
We didn't really talk about the Jets.
Those are terrible.
Both those series, by the way,
home teams are collective eight, no.
I don't know.
Like, do you feel similarly?
Where's the greater concern?
Well, that's what I was going to ask.
Do you feel similarly about,
you know, the blues right now
as you do the Oilers or is it night and day?
Or you could go with the favorite.
Do you feel similarly with the Kings and the Jets?
I would say, no, I would think it's a little different in my brain
because the Jets had to win.
Even though it was going to be a tough matchup,
all things Jets related are we have to...
Yeah, they're favored.
We're going to be judged on our playoff success.
We've done enough in the regular season over the years
to say we're a good team.
Whereas the Kings and the Oilers,
I didn't, I was leaning towards Kings because I'm so ingrained in him.
My hatred for the Oilers, but it wasn't.
Yeah.
I will say this, though, like, there's a similarity.
Like, it really doesn't matter what the Oilers accomplished in the regular season.
This is like the last year of Cheapley on, like, they have to win.
But you're right, they were the team down to O and Jets were up to OILS.
Yeah, if you compare the Oilers to the Jets.
Yeah.
And then if you compare the Oilers to the Oilers to the Blues, I mean, the Oilers went to game seven of the Cup final.
The Blues, prior to that winning streak,
Oh, our captain might be available at the deadline.
Yeah.
Right.
Like that's, they're doing this thing again.
And it did look like that was the team you didn't want to play.
And it looks like that's the team you don't want to play.
And I don't know.
They look better in games one and two than the Oilers did.
I just don't know how at some point you just have to put some stock into what you're seeing with Hellabuck.
Oh, that's when you said it three and ten in the last 13, four and a half it?
Check this out.
I send this to Jack.
So we have a chart.
because Rhett loves the data and the charts.
Do we get grid graphs and charts?
100%.
New show with Rhett Warner.
Grid.
But essentially we have a regular season, Hellebuck, and we have playoff helibuck,
and it is night and day, and it's getting worse.
Like, this isn't a bad week.
This is a bad three years.
Like, league average is your dotted line.
We're talking about a superstar in the regular season,
and this looks like Kari Ramo in the playoffs.
That's not what you need.
I don't think I have to explain that.
We get this, right?
Yeah.
Like that's bad.
You're heading towards 800 here.
Jeez.
I'm kind of a duby.
It's not like there's any softies,
but you're going to have to mix in some saves.
Yeah.
It's kind of a thankless spot.
Yeah.
Where,
no,
you get thanked every two weeks.
Yeah,
I guess you do get thanked.
Thanks are all over now.
This is the one goal because play some defense for sure,
if you're Winnipeg.
You've got one of the best goalies.
You don't give up a lot.
good at home ice all of that but st louis this is this was the goal that made it 5 1
kyle conner i'm just going to give it oh it's such a bad play and then where's the what's the gap
control rat what do you i mean it's it's a double goof goosh for connor in my opinion yeah
because i mean it's it's it's four pass he misses and then the back check's not good enough
it's already it's already for one but this is kind of they're
was the other goal where shoot i'm trying to remember who it was it's just allowed you just kind of walk
right in well you're right he is walking in but back it up just a little bit there jack whiteboard
yeah i didn't want yeah this is just earlier there's your giveaway i know but i want that scene stop
hellerbuck or connor just left the screen screen he was the closest guy to this play he just turned
the puck over go ahead there's no way he can get beat to be third
man, right?
It's beat.
It's not even, it's, and so I can see what you're saying about the number two,
the defenseman backing in, but the number two,
the defense is going to,
our back check is going to actually back check, right?
Like, we are going to have somebody.
Yes, to shade for Connor's bad.
Look it.
That's not,
that's not committed to winning right there.
So, I mean, we're, we're picking one goal out of five that they scored,
but it's been 12 in the two games, I believe.
It's been, uh,
Geez.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Blues won seven to two in game three.
Hellebuck allowed six on 25.
And then here got yarded after that goal.
And Comrie came in.
But I,
we said it to do.
Nick,
I don't think you can go to Comrie.
No,
God,
no.
It's your MVP.
That's very different in,
Edmonton because you've been going back and forth all year and
Skinner got hurt and there's been this internal debate of who's actually
better.
Like,
Hellibuck is your franchise player.
Yeah.
Been watching much of the Habs.
Oh, yeah.
Feisty.
Yeah.
Great building.
We knew the Montreal games would be epic.
I didn't think we'd be this epic, fighting on the benches.
It's awesome.
A buddy of mine has been a lifelong Habs fan.
Yeah.
And got to his first Habs game.
Oh, three or four.
Wow.
Yeah.
This is, it was the perfect, perfect scenario.
Yeah, I guess we can do the, the Tom Wilson thing.
He's a, he's a unicorn.
What?
Oh, jeez, I'm sorry, guys.
I'm sleeping.
I just,
Rusty.
Yeah, absolutely rusty.
Um, boom.
That's a hard hit.
That's a massive hit.
I've seen in maybe years.
That's a linebacker.
And you're, and then Washington
comes in and scores.
And this guy, what do you have 30 goals?
It did three years.
Goodness.
Incredible resurgence season.
And that, I think that was at what, 2-2?
Or that was at 2-1, then they scored a tie at 2.
And then our old friend,
old friend, Andrew Mangrapani,
doing what Madrapani can do from time to time.
This is Manjapani goal.
Take a listen.
3.45 remains in regulation.
Strong, criss-crossing, closing.
Manjapani.
Scores.
It was a snapshot
Sizzler.
Triple S.
Should the goalie have that, right?
Well, I just, yeah, if you want to win a series,
he should.
That's not blaming.
He was right there.
It's Dobish, who's had a really nice rookie campaign,
started the year down in the A.
What was he doing, Doebusch on another goal?
Where he just sat in his crease, like an eight-year-old.
Yeah.
Didn't want to come out.
His post game wasn't pretty either.
So Madrapati, big goal there.
You know what?
We'll take one more look.
But what happened was kind of jogged my memory.
You know what things are conjured up?
I think I know where you're going here.
Remind me a few years ago.
And Al Pullman having trouble with it.
Able to knock it away from danger is it.
One up in his feet for a moment.
Backman on it.
Here's a chance.
Bontrapani with you, Branson.
It was so hard to score on Ottinger that series.
It was so hard.
It felt like you may not score.
Can you back that up again?
Like look at the shots here.
They've got one on 28.
Whiteboard?
So.
A little more.
Back.
I don't know if it goes back.
Keep going back.
Or maybe forward.
Forward.
It's got to be forward.
It's got to be forward.
Okay.
Just after the goal.
Oh, okay.
Jesus.
So forward, not back.
Sorry.
So there again.
I mean, it's top of the circles.
Snap it.
Locker side.
And the Dobish was blocker's side.
Look at the other.
Yeah.
Keep going on.
A lot of people there.
Oh.
Retro.
What?
Go to the telestrials.
I just want to see the fans.
You did want to see the fans.
I don't know if I.
Hey,
oh, somebody is.
Also,
some didn't,
it must be Dallas fans.
Dallas.
Yeah,
looks, it's a little green.
It's Dallas down there.
Purple hair.
Okay.
There's still three.
three guys left on the team from that group.
What are they still doing here?
Oh, what happened there?
The Backlin Coleman and the Rasmus and then also the UFA Vlodar, who may or may not be with the team next year.
You mentioned Landiscaug.
Are you?
Got it.
Okay.
Play it now if you want.
No, let's get to it.
Okay.
Let's get to it.
Time for the Pinder report.
Presentation of Village Honda.
They're doing it up there.
They're doing it and they're doing it right.
They want to buy your pre-owned vehicle.
They are, and once they do, and they fill up,
so they're paying to get the vehicles, paying good money to get them.
And then they get them, and then they're selling them at great deals.
I don't know how you do that.
I don't know what's happening.
Careful.
But we can't recommend them enough.
Village Honda, located in the Northwest Automall and online at villagehonda.com.
Hit a report.
Wow, boys.
Got to come up with content.
The writer's got to.
Right.
I just get a right.
Several flames.
Eighth positives.
I love when there's lists.
24, 25 seasons.
80 reasons.
The flames are the best.
Flames from 80 feet.
Do you want to guess?
Rett's top five, top five positives?
I did peruse.
Wolf was one.
Correct.
The prospects as a whole was four, I think.
So let's accept something less tangible.
Coronado chemistry.
Coronado.
was young player development.
That's number two.
Chemistry will call culture.
That was three, I believe.
We do want people to read it.
And the fifth was one that's a little harder.
Conroy.
No, I think, like where we were a year and a half ago.
What would have been a problem?
It would have been a problem.
I don't care.
You, Brita.
Oh, he'll be do, be do.
It was good.
You're from.
It was.
96 points.
Nope.
Oh, the flames.
Yeah.
He had 62, I think.
96 is a lot.
Jesus.
We did 96.
It'd be great.
We had a real tough time trying to get them to 82 at the beginning of the year.
Yeah.
And 93.
Well, geez, that's.
And I was so wrong.
95.
Yeah.
Where do we find this?
Flamesnation.com.
Where the writers are still writing.
Nice.
And you know what?
Comment.
Yeah.
Let's do.
Throw in a comment.
Lo, you look, that's eight this morning and I screenshot it right away.
So there'll be comments.
Yeah.
Oh.
I don't want Bobby Germany to feel like people.
want care about his record.
Like and subscribe.
Yeah.
And comment.
Five star.
Share.
Oh,
people share.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sharing's caring.
Right, Jack?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sure.
Okay.
Jack's saying we've been people sharing and liking and subscribing on the
YouTube's great stuff.
So what happened last week?
Well, Red had some stuff to say and it turned out to be one of our best weeks ever.
Yeah.
Act like a hot head asshole and it'll be.
This is the problem with our business friends.
Like, oh, that must be good for business.
Let's do that again.
I was having a bad day.
I wanted to feel good about myself.
So I'm going to beat up on somebody else.
That guy scored four goals since then.
That was two years ago.
Don't blame yourself,
blame society.
Yeah,
right?
A bunch of ambulance chasers.
Right.
Stop rewarding your behavior.
That blood loss.
I'm quite certain.
I know for a fact.
I said,
don't put any of this shit in the clips because I don't want.
And there it was.
And there was.
Well,
thanks for helping the business.
Any idea what it might be this week?
It's Monday.
You have kind of a.
Two weeks ago,
we had we were your last week.
Bouchard, what's coming up?
Sunny out today.
It is.
Let us know when you haven't had breakfast.
We'll know what's that day.
Yeah.
Keep moving.
Vesda finalists who announced this morning.
They're going to trickle this news out throughout the week.
Oh, good.
Today's goalie day.
A lot of trickling.
Just like the Four Nations.
They're announcing.
They've trickled it out.
It was way better.
Chircels.
Just saying.
Triggle.
Vastelowski, Kempber Hellebuck.
All right.
I believe you.
Sure.
More tomorrow.
News.
New.
Jack.
Jack.
Open your mic.
Jack.
Hey.
El Pinguino
The parted ways with Mike Sullivan
They should have listened to me years ago
Yeah, see
This is a long time coming
You were on to this
I was so early to this
But then you liked them again
Yeah, he was good of four nations for a game
You put them in the mood
Then you're bringing them back
It was a lot
It's hard with you
You gotta time it correctly with Jack
You can't
It's very moody
Yeah
Hot and cold
You know what?
He was a good coach
I can't believe
To get Sanders
Nobody wanted Sanders
I'm pretty sure you said you wanted Sanders
Yeah, should there?
Didn't you say?
He said, we don't want him.
I wanted him in the first round and then.
And then he wanted him the next day.
And then they didn't draw the way.
I never liked him anyway.
It's a lot to keep track.
It was the full 360 degree experience.
Don't want him, want him, don't want him.
Where's Mike going, Jack?
You can talk to him?
Yeah, I did my rounds.
Looks like New York.
Oh, wow.
Islanders?
Rangers.
Got it.
What about Boston?
He's from Massachusetts.
Oh,
they're the shits.
So you want to go to Boston?
Well,
the Rangers,
but they got a better roster.
They play well,
yeah.
Where would you go,
Rhett?
That's a coach.
I'm not from Massachusetts,
so.
Easy for you.
Well,
what was the list of,
there's seven,
being empty spots?
Yeah.
No,
long as tender,
you're thinking,
do you know?
I guess it was open spots.
Okay.
Rangers.
Rangers.
Philly had an interim.
Boston at an interim.
Pinguins. Ducks. Ducks is open now.
Maybe Anaheim, Boston, you mentioned.
Seattle.
New Jersey. Seattle, gas there guy.
One year.
Oh, go there.
Yeah.
One year.
That's what the F's going on.
I don't think for a round fron smoking dope or something.
Fired himself up to president.
That's good work.
You can get it.
Anaheim might be appealing.
Great weather.
Amaheim.
Amahe. Amazon.
It would be really appealing.
Very tropical.
lots of jobs you had the list earlier of the five highest tenured coach is in the league
second is noted by sarah valley yeah i'm just off top of my head brindamore was three
shockingly andre ternier with the yote slash utahs was fourth marty fifth and yeah john cooper's
been doing it forever like is ryan huska a top ten tenured coach now he has got it right that's how quick
things churn oh churn and turn
And churn and burn.
I'm churning, I'm churning, I'm churning for you.
And Bednar was going to get gassed and then won the cup.
Yeah, he got brought in very late because Pat Roy went nuts.
Roy quit that leaked phone call.
Remember, Zuthelar?
Zutalore.
They had to bring him in in like September and it was an awful year.
But don't worry, they get to draft McCar or something like that.
And then they're fine.
So good work if you can get it again.
Let's go to last night's results for Gamer.
Two today, by the way.
we'll get to later, but no Canadian games tonight.
Get your ass out and vote.
Terrible.
Stop bitching a moment, just vote.
All four, terrible.
Blues dominated Carolina.
Defense wins championships.
Sure.
Mix in some saves, guys.
Yeah.
Let's get to some of it.
Well, we start with some overtime in Edmonton and elsewhere.
If it feels like there's been a lot of overtime,
it's because we've gone seven straight days with overtime, fellas.
It won't always be this nice.
As we should.
This is like when it's August and it's 30 degrees and you're on the beach and you're thinking,
oh man, we've got weeks more of this.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Less than less.
Days are already getting shorter.
In two weeks, we'll have like eight teams left.
That's it.
And then two weeks after that, we'll have four teams left.
Then we start doing fewer shows and then no shows at all.
Start doing some drinky shows.
That's not working altogether.
It sounds like that.
Jockeme and Whitefish getting all banged up.
Uh, here's the highlights from Evanton last night.
If you missed it, boy, some great stuff.
More oil or an oiler crime.
So you might expect when the team is, why is this happening?
It's in the water up there.
I really do wonder.
The spilled beer, that's unnecessary.
There were tons of these.
Didn't have the tie down.
Stop fighting.
Stop fighting.
That'll work.
Is that our boy, Jay, breaking up?
Um, why are you getting in there?
This is, you're going to take one.
Life in the culture.
capital here why are we fighting each other same same jerseys boys it's a special
place is that jack that's a jack is that you and defa i'm not like that hairdue there that's
oh that's in mid 80s right there that muley yeah did that guy with the tuxedo just coming to put him in a
headlock full nelson oh well that's how it starts i uh who here i feel like well i shouldn't comment
here's uh ret this this is red this is red like it if you would when you get the ret vote of confidence
this is what can happen to you highest points per game in nchl history in the playoffs minimum
50 games bobby or ret's guy hey put him out last night another two goals dash one he is
13 shots his last two games he has seven points in the series and minus two it's a full roller
coaster every night with evan bouchard plus we didn't even talk about your motivational speech
how effective those can be.
I've been knowing for them.
Games tonight. Let's look.
Two good ones.
I like looking like a idiot.
We're good at it here.
Damn right.
People take it very seriously when we look like idiots.
Like we're just here trying to be entertaining.
Oh, I know.
It would really.
Some players even get annoyed.
It would really disappoint them how low our give a shit meter is.
Like we just come in here.
We're just trying to be idiots.
It's really all weird.
Like, it's, oh, those guys were the.
We never know.
what we're going to talk about it and then we just go and eat and go on with their day i could eat
i didn't spend the afternoon thinking about it no nightcap tonight 730 the series is getting good
Colorado riding high after a game four win they looked like they could be in trouble not it's a best
of three dallas has home ice i haven't been able to watch enough of this series game four was very good
but you're right it's kind of been butted up against other stuff the timing has been
night's the night but it was all abs right game four yes uh
Oh, shit. I'm at George London.
Yeah, there, George Blondon. At least it's not in this.
At least it's got really big locker rooms and not built in the 40s.
Good luck to you.
And the other one's the Battle of Florida, which we hope could be a game.
We need another Tampa win and then this thing could be a classic.
Do you want to talk?
I was going to, did you want to talk about Landiscaug at this point?
Do you have the Landiscag?
I wanted to run through the other games first, but sure, yeah.
This is your talk about Colorado.
Let's get right to it.
You know what?
That's a good point.
I know.
I was going to read number.
And I don't, this is, let's stay out of it.
While we're talking about Dahl's and game four.
Watch, check the emotions here.
This is cool stuff.
And hell of shot.
Rock Nelson accelerates with a ton of speed to the slot.
The shot, they score.
And guess who?
It's Gabriel Landis scog.
That is cool hockey stuff.
Look at them.
Jumping.
Game three had all the feels and the kids in warm up and chant and Land.
before the game started.
They lost it in heartbreaking fashion.
This one was not that.
It was all abs.
And that's an absolute snipe.
I mean, Dad, no, may want to put a stick on him.
But may you want to do something differently defensively.
Not to take anything away.
We can whiteboard this for sure.
But Gabe, nice shot.
They're going to leave you open.
You make them pay.
This is about Gabe.
And it's comeback.
First goal since June 20th of 2022.
June 20.
That's late, Dean.
That must have been the Stanley Cup final.
Yeah, it was.
Game three.
other game tonight is Tampa Florida we told you that all the West series don't
if you notice this tell me tied it to two no kidding every single series out west son of a gun
tight and depending on who wins tonight we get all the series in the east to 3-1 that's bad
alright alright so 2-2 because they you know it means it's lost like good hot that's bad
yeah because you're not so much hon you're cheered for that's true yeah I suppose if you're like
If you're a Leafs fan and they win, then it's good.
That'd be good.
But if you're saying,
my buddy, Jeff's boy.
He's good.
He's their best defenseman by a mile.
Yep.
Already.
I'm not sure what he was doing on that.
Nice goal.
He can't do everything, Dean.
Jesus Christ.
You know, I just weren't.
Always taking cheap shots.
Bushard's dad things feel different around here.
That's right.
Blues.
What can we tell?
I just something.
You might.
pull up together.
I can't read my damn right.
Here it is.
Blues at home.
Thank you.
Their last 14 home games.
How do you like 14 and oh?
Maybe it's not the Jets.
Maybe there's just the blues boys.
Five goals a game.
Allowing less than two plus 44.
Oh yeah.
And old Binner,
the red ass is hanging in 932.
Like plus 44.
That's wild.
They didn't score 44 in 14.
Ooh.
Plus 44.
Yeah.
Well, they're not giving up much.
That's good.
Son of a gun.
That's, I mean, that's, that's a lot.
Well, we've been four, five goals a game.
That's good.
How do you feel about it, Dean?
I know you're a jet's good.
Deep down.
There's some love there.
Not for the blows.
No, for the jets.
Some people are familiar.
I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't really have.
No.
Be a bear's gear or big a jet's gear?
There's not a lot I care about at all, actually.
I could have faked it at this moment.
I'm tore up, Rhett.
Yeah, I'm tore up to have to have come this way
and to look at challenges that they've had
from attendance to the Canadian dollar
to the harsh winters.
And now the president's trophy winners to,
because the one guy's injured, right?
Yeah, the one guy.
He's not playing.
So it would be a tough way to go out again in round one
after a great season.
Bell Center is a place to go watch
playoff hockey. It is on the bucket list.
It has not been done, but playoffs
are a special beast. Here's proof.
Tom Wilson hockey cards in the urnals. It's the little
details. It's the hot dogs.
It's the piss on Tom Wilson. It's the
chanting.
That's great.
It's the little details.
Hell of a play. Hell of a play. Details.
That is wonderful. You respect
the devotion of the fan base.
You want devotion.
This guy drew Alex Ovechkin, but he did it by writing Alex Ovechkin over 11,000 times.
We don't have the whole video for you, but you probably don't believe he can do this.
Trust me when I tell you he can.
This probably took a while.
How long would take you to write Alex Ovechkin 11,000?
I wouldn't do it.
Probably not.
I wouldn't waste my time.
It looks like it's not going to be very good, but then it's like, oh, hang on now.
That's actually pretty bleeping nails.
Man, people are better than us at stuff.
I would have like a circle with the two dots of the eyes and a big smile.
I would AI that shit.
I'm not sure I would ever.
Wow.
Think to do it or be motivated to do it or able.
Would you ever get that flower tattoo in the back of your hand?
You know what, Dean?
Your problem is you just don't commit yourself to things.
Yeah.
You could do this.
I know you could.
I think you should start today.
I'll start today.
Who should I?
I thought you're going to kitchen.
After you do some more driving, I think you should do a.
Right.
Mike Sullivan.
What a Sullivan picture?
Okay.
Jack.
She should her,
maybe?
You get a shooter?
You finally got to have a man.
It does look like Alex Ovechkin.
It's impressive.
That?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It does.
Not AI,
we believe.
It's not just his name,
though.
There's some shading.
Excuse me?
Look at his cheeks.
What about me?
Like,
what about,
yeah.
What about whether there's like?
You're telling me that he's cheating on this?
Yeah,
that's not Alex Ovechkin.
Yeah,
what about his,
the,
the captain's letter.
So he wrote Alex Ovechkin and red just to make the jersey.
This is terrible.
That's impressive stuff.
As soon as you dig into things, you just.
Disappointing.
Yeah.
It all falls apart.
That's bad.
It's all Alex Ovechkin.
Look at the hell.
That's not all Alex Ovechkin, is it?
He just colored blue with crayon.
We got to move on.
It's all Alex Havichkin.
The Calvary FC in action on the weekend.
A beautiful day.
Atco Field, a not beautiful result.
Stank in Ottawa.
Tommy.
Get out of here.
Can we have a better start this season?
What's in the slow starts, Tommy?
You got the weather.
It's not the weather's fault.
20 degrees.
It was gorgeous.
Free plug for team town there.
You drop that out.
Team, get out here.
Or just give us some money.
We'll keep you in there.
They actually are in action tomorrow, believe it or not.
Here is the Canadian championship.
Oh my God.
And they're playing a Alberta League one team called Edmonton, Scottish United.
Let's go.
Stop hitting them.
seven tomorrow you canadian championship it's gorgeous so yep i'll pick you and you and your two kids
each other in the face in the back of my car yeah they can get it and bleed all over themselves
donny brook so stupid the kids are dumb so they are uh calves fc.com for more information it's a beauty
day out there oh yeah and that of course uh calves uh calves uh
forward uh yeah i'm going to say that's calum montgomery don't know who it is nick de lorento someone
that's a fake person okay we'll move to the majors where uh real upicum yeah you know the manager
of the the the the the rachies nick de lorentoes is have a tough go he's on the hot seas
they're four and 22 that's an awful boys uh a 25 win pace how many do they play in the season
162.
100 and some for sure.
Oh boy.
That's a way right there.
Now, is it true?
Some of these owners just want to take the luxury tax money and put it in their pocket?
Yeah, that's correct.
Yeah.
Some will even play in a AAA stadium in Sacramento to make it happen.
Isn't that amazing.
We're possums in the press box in Oakland, but still,
just keep moving.
Yeah.
Bill Belichick's got a very young girlfriend.
He's old.
She's young.
And it's...
We're jealous.
It's fascinated a lot of people, right?
It really has.
Let's take a closer look with CBS.
Jordan was a constant presence during our interview.
You have Jordan right over there.
Everybody in the world seems to be following this relationship.
They've got an opinion about your private life.
It's got nothing to do with them, but they're invested in it.
How do you deal with that?
I've never been too worried about what everybody else thinks.
Just try to do what I feel.
like is best for me and what's right.
How did you guys meet?
Not talking about this.
No?
No.
It's a topic neither one of them is comfortable commenting on.
Look at that face.
Oh my God.
Bill, did you leave the toilet seat up again?
You son of it!
That's a, uh, what we call it, Zippy.
That's a, uh, what we call it, R BF.
Resting beautiful face.
The stuff.
It's the internet.
Go ahead, dude.
It's just the stuff we'll do.
Back to you, boom.
The lengths we will go.
Yeah.
I mean, even fellow check's like,
I'll talk about it.
If I blink twice, I'm in danger.
Bill should not sign up for the.
Bill, let's do less of that.
Bill, apparently she's responded to emails on the,
the university email of Kelly.
Bill.
Like this is a perfect relationship if you get to have 14 hours in the office and she's not there.
Don't let her in there.
Bill's lost his fucking marbles, man.
Oh, I swore.
Yeah.
I was so far into the day.
He's been swearing a lot lately.
Yeah.
Chalking it up to CTE.
Is that the case still?
Oh, it's so bad.
I'm sorry.
Uh, no, the shovel is getting frustrated too.
So she went out to the woods just to scream and just let it out.
Here we are.
Let's go.
you got to film it right that's what you do is
are you saying it's
a doubt
I don't know
I got to put me in a
are you saying it's fake right
set up
well this is the problem with you
and Pinder in this like
don't don't put me under
well I got some good stuff
there are funny things but not when someone
sets up a camera and like
oh, can you believe someone's
pooping in the trees beside me screaming?
Oh, my God. What happened?
Jeez.
Next thing, you know, Rhett's going to be telling me
athletes are going to be slapping fans in the stands.
Like, that's staged or something.
This is the coolest brother.
Bang.
Oh, this is the U.S.L., the United Football League.
That's a long reach that.
That's some wingspan.
Pooka's bro landed it and 19's loving it.
that people are saying you can't do this this is no i'm like if you're the ufl this is the best press you've had
in here i didn't know they were existing there you are yeah i feel like you probably had it
coming yeah he probably said some harsh words yeah we got a watermelon here got put an elastic
around it let's see what happens 724 oh this face 724 oh 7204 oh
days for their careers. They streamed don't do this and people don't watch them.
Jack. A bit of an announcer fail. Let's make sure we're right at the beginning sound up. I don't need
this to run until we're fully ready. Sometimes you say things in the wrong order. You'd slide one
letter to the wrong word and this didn't go. Freudian kind of a thing. Didn't go well.
You can't turn the black, we can't turn the clock back. I know it's after a minute. We can't turn
the clock back. Oh, no. And turn it back into the.
the mid 80s.
God, this, Mike.
One more time.
Next. No, we're good.
Got it the first time.
It's been a while, so we thought we'd get Dean back and reunited with some old friends.
Old friends.
It's a big friend of ears.
Oh, my God.
Go for a dip.
Look at the size.
That looks like a 40-foot snake.
this has to, our next one has to be AI, but it did remind me of a Samuel L. Jackson movie.
Now some goddamn strings out of plane.
There's a glitch there.
I don't know.
That's can't be right.
Two heads.
Yeah, this is AI.
See.
China.
Come on.
China.
Yeah, that's fake.
That's Pinderport for Monday, fellas.
Brought to you by Village Honda.
All makes, all models.
They want them.
Pre-owned vehicles.
Appraisals are called.
If you get a deal done, payment in 24 hours, get it started at village honda.com.
No obligation.
And if you do agree, 24 hours, there's the money right there.
Boom.
Gash.
Also, McKenna scored again.
50 games in a row.
That's 5.0, Dean, not 1.
It's to the point the newsworthy item will be he didn't score.
That's correct.
Yeah, you only had one.
Stop the press.
Also, that phenom from Regina.
Yeah, he had three points and scored the O.T winner to win the, is it a Telos?
Oh, it would be Telos.
That's right.
Over, uh, team from Kwebe Beck.
And he's going to Regina also.
Yes.
Because they won the draft.
There's some weird election you can make where they can play up to 34, 35 games in junior without.
Yeah.
They changed those rules a few years ago.
So you can see a lot of a 15 year old if they're dominant.
Or you just get the exceptional status like Mickey is a son.
Like he didn't get exceptional.
No, like his kid.
Terrible.
It was a lot of error.
It's too swears.
I mean, disparaging comment.
Plus vulgar.
Not.
Jack, rewind and go back.
It's not to delete that.
Stop the reel to reel.
Just cut out all the bad things said about Bouchard and all the swears and
will be in good shape.
Service, big share contest is in full swing.
But man, it's hustle.

And what is it?
It's a chance to win a million dollars just by saving money.
You're saving.
You get entries into the contest,
and then somebody is going to win $1 million.
It could still be you, but time is of the essence.
So do some good things that are important,
and we'll also potentially.
give you a million dollars to do it.
Savings good. Service.com.
I wonder how long because I'm just trying to think.
So if it was deadline as the 30th,
okay,
we're going to make sure that all our ducks in a row.
Yeah.
With the big share contest.
You think they show up at the,
have one of those big checks.
Remember like?
Maybe.
Publishers clearinghouse.
They would show up at your house.
Who's that old guy?
Ed McMahon.
Now, what was publishers clearinghouse?
Was it magazines?
Magazines?
What was the,
what was the,
A cassette scam.
Columbia house, buddy.
You didn't though, right?
I love a pyramid.
Yeah.
Peace scheme.
It's something else to say.
God, let's see.
When you go back to where you're from and you reminisce with people, you start thinking about old, like, who would, how many people listening or watching know what Columbia house is?
I would think more than you.
Jack, do you know what Columbia House is?
Sorry.
He's too young.
No idea.
Okay.
You'd have to be 40 year older.
Because, like, my sister, I remember she would be in junior high, she was all about it.
Yeah.
And that, that's not, it's not a rural thing.
It was big time in the cities, obviously.
Like, I think if you're over 40, you know what Columbia is, Columbia House is.
So, do you want to, yeah.
Well, it's hard to explain.
Yeah.
It was cassettes.
And then CDs.
And then CDs, but for us, it was like cassettes.
I don't remember it being CDs.
I'm sure it was.
Yeah.
I don't know the cities.
You would, you would agree with a.
form to buy one cassette and get seven free for a penny.
But then you had to, after that, then buy subsequent cassettes.
Right.
You buy it.
Yeah.
Which you wouldn't do.
Dang yeah.
And then they'd come after you and garnish your wages.
What they also did was they knocked down the quality of music substantially.
It didn't quite sound as good.
Deal with these bastards.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a little fine print on it and said, oh, yeah, the quality may be lower than, oh, that's what they do.
And then if you got a friend to sign up, you get another free.
You get another bad.
Yeah.
I wonder if people know what cassettes are.
Like, how far do we have to scale this all down?
Jack, cassette tape.
Sounds familiar, no idea what it is.
Oh, mixed tape, Jack.
So good.
For your girl?
Oh, yeah.
Merry Christmas.
Yeah.
Merry Christmas.
That's a shit gift.
or the best.
He's been in the big city.
He's got some tunes you haven't heard.
You kidding me?
I made you a banger.
I made you a mixtape.
Oh, yeah, I went to
whatever Radio Shack.
I went to A B and B sound.
Onix cassette.
Yeah, bought this
this cassette tape for
two bucks.
Nice.
When is Mother's Day?
Oh, no.
Can we just,
it's not May officially, but it's pretty much May.
We're scary clothes.
Guys.
Real close,
Dean jumped up on us.
It hit me on the weekend.
I,
well,
thank goodness for Venova in the parking.
But.
Yeah,
so your kids can go there
and get their mother or something.
Yeah,

Where you go,
get after it.
Good job, kids.

It's C, right?
13.
If you count today and the day.
Probably 11 if we're being real.
No way.
I thought it was later in May.
The 11th.
It's the 11th for Christ.
I know.
Right?
What a terrible day.
Thank goodness for Justin.
Saving the day for us.
Yep.
Thank goodness for that.
Thank goodness for that.
So only two games tonight, right?
Yeah.
No Canadian.
teams go vote has anyone watched canes devils no yes but only because i've been gambling on it
and that's very sparingly or it's the only thing on and i have nothing else to do but being honest yeah
i'm kind of with you just with how it's shaken out the aves stars hasn't lined up for me but i
look forward to all right we have a two two series let's go good tonight enough you know now you've
kind of you know done some smooching and got to know each other let's get down to it is it odd that there
are some series you're cheering for the two-two thing and there's other series you're like got
throw his phone at the TV we need to two in florida tampa because that just has great
potential it's already getting nasty game one was such a blow it didn't really but then you had the
the the haggle hit on barkov the kachuk hit on gensel thank you it's starting to get nasty
and we need it to stay close so the nastiness can escalate and honestly you're the sentence
go in game five let's spice this up with it
Sanderson
Sandie
hopefully your old man
pulled himself out of Bearfax
and can
Oh geez
That's how it works
There's two ways to do that
You can say meet your old buddy
Rettster in Toronto
And get some seats for us
Instead you slandered his name
It was cool
His old man was at the game
He scored that
It's nice
They were excited
How far back to go with them?
The old man
99
G off.
I made my greatest pass of my life in Boston,
game five, down a goal.
Sandy's like, if we win it,
I'm heading up, I'm busting,
hit me at center.
D's on draw.
Got around the net and I floated one.
Yeah.
And he dumped it in.
Oh, come on, Jeff.
Jeff.
Right on the tape.
Look like Caprice off.
He's going to say that.
Did you approach him after and be like,
Hey, what the H?
No, I'm not, I don't know.
Great teammate.
Yep.
I'm sure he did his best.
Right?
Dude, it was just off the draw.
What do you change?
He just told me and I hits you full strive.
What the hell?
Bet 365.
Want to get in on the action for the Stanley Cup playoffs at bet three, six five.
They got you from game props, player props, totals, and the money line.

Download the app, get in on the game, official partner of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
You must be 19 or older.
Okay, so two guys have not scored in the series.
That's stunning.
The series is Colorado, Dallas.
All right.
Let's have a look.
Starting to get some odds now because they haven't scored.
Last year's playoff killer, Wyatt Johnston, zero goals.
Kill McCar 30 in the regular season, zero goals.
This can't last forever, can it?
Love that.
plus 300 for kale plus 250 for what what what's hot what if you threw those two if you get a little partly it's a big numbers probably
and you know what the the nice thing about that it's the same game you don't need to be flipping yeah no flippy floppy yeah and you're not and guys on both sides so if you don't have a rooting interest
you're the note tonight i haven't mentioned is chuck did it sounds like you avoid suspension no hearing right there's a thought with that hit on against other
It might be given that Hakel got the one for Barkoff.
But two good games.
I think these have the potential to be two of the best series.
Here we go.
Nice.
Spice it up with Bet365.
I've got,
yes,
Bet 365,
I got a question.
Yeah.
How'd the bears do?
Yeah,
really good.
Yeah,
the tight end we talked about on Friday.
Love land.
Yeah.
Mayor of Loveland.
Yeah.
Colston, Texas.
Yeah.
So it's all shaping up great.
Yeah.
Is that?
Did they have like a C plus or B or what was it?
Oh, A.
Yeah.
Given an A grade.
Is there a second favorite pick of the draft you had?
No.
Kind of liked them all the same?
Just the tight end.
Yeah.
Because Cole commets the shits.
Right.
So you can block now.
This guy will catch.
Yeah.
This guy's way better.
Jack.
You know what the Steelers do?
They have the most expensive defense in the NFL.
And then they just draft defense the entire draft.
Yep.
And then they go nine and eight and lose a playoff.
game and we all laugh at Jack on there.
It's great. It's good, good for the show.
Is this going to be a non-playoff here?
Nope.
Defense is probably too good.
Nine and eight's good enough.
But Jack's working under the assumption that they are going to sign Rogers at this point.
Yes, I think so.
It's quite a roller coaster.
Is there any ass Jack anyway, because tomorrow's a different day.
Yeah.
The wind will be blown from the east and they'll be done with Roger.
Because is there anyone left quarterback wise?
That's, you might be able to go trade for someone like James with the Giants because they
drafted a guy and they already have
what's his nuts?
Could have signed him if they
wanted that bad. The Browns' QB room
and the Giants. Browns have like six
cubies, don't they? Yeah. So trade
free agency, it's only Rogers.
Yeah. Boy, he's easy to deal with. Hey, Aaron, we'd like to play with us.
Why don't you give me three months to think about it?
I need to worry.
You need to talk about the philosophy of the
globe and the planet and the universe.
It's actually going trekking
in the Himalayas.
I was think about this and it opens your mind so what he's not just focused on stupid football he's expanded himself he's trying to better himself you two idiots are just there to you did that too you said it ruined your career the lockout when you went and expanded your horizons and traveled the world right yeah is that what it was yes i mean some other things in there i had something else i wanted to say oh dear you can't remember you were asking me about the bears bears yeah no wasn't that let's see jack
Commodore.
Oh, completely.
Aaron Rogers.
That's why I can't remember.
Well, I'm going to do this.
I'm going to play one of,
one of these.
We have a super chat.
Proceeds going to the youth centers
of Calgary, help make a difference
in our community.
And with the cash donation,
you get your comment,
put on the show.
We want the Jack Cack.
Excellent name.
Comes through with five bucks.
If you have a barbecue with your buddies,
and one of your buddies goes into a food
coma after eating,
is, is it disrespectful or is it a compliment?
I feel like this is an inside job and this is about Jack.
There's a lot of clear.
Yeah, this is totally me.
Where is the picture of the brisket?
I got it.
Well, that's, and you, anytime that you go into a photo comma, that's just natural.
You've done well?
That's your body telling you what you need to do and you're responding correctly.
So to set this up, you had buddies at your place?
My buddy Michael's place.
Okay.
Michael.
We put the brisket in the smoker at midnight the night before.
You got banged up in front.
I think, right?
A little bit.
I'm going to get into that.
Here it is.
It was amazing.
Was it?
So good.
And yeah, I, after we ate, I was out.
And the boys were out back playing beard eye and I was.
You're just more mature.
You've been around us more, so they just don't understand.
I had to lay down.
You were crushing Zs.
You're an old soul, Jack.
I had to lay down.
I think it's, you know what, Mike, the food was good.
I don't think it's disrespectful at all.
I hope you turned the tube on.
I got to work to do.
I got to watch the show.
Yeah.
That's always a great thing in our business.
I have to watch.
I have to watch this.
I have to watch this.
We get into the very fine details and the minutiae of these things.
I really need to watch close.
This is the third time you've watched Jason 30s.
I'm working.
So you fell asleep or you just needed to lie down?
I fell asleep completely.
Now what kind of sauce did we have?
Did you have sauce?
Some barbecue sauce.
We had some potatoes.
I was just rocking the brisket on the bun.
I probably had like six.
Oh, yeah.
Well done.
Riosch bun.
Yeah.
What time of day are we talking to you hit the couch?
Like 6 p.m.
I think I woke up and it was in the overtime of the leaves.
How many?
pounds of brisket do you think you consumed?
A couple.
Lots.
And then I took some home too.
Oh, yeah.
Brought it in?
Yeah.
Didn't bring it in the fridge.
I didn't bring it in.
Care for us.
What?
So,
and then,
okay,
so question,
you get to self a couple hours,
it sounds like.
I rallied.
Six,
yeah,
you got a rally.
Yeah,
because if you have had the nap
and you've been taken down,
but then you were resurrected,
now we're going to need to show up.
Do you rally,
Dean?
There's no rally.
There's no attempt to rally.
well there's no pressure to rally yeah to rally for what well and again what needs to be
accomplished has been accomplished the job is done context is jack's like 26 or something so
did anybody so oh they gave me such a hard time so was busting your balls is it because you
ate more than anyone else are you wired differently was anyone else close to laying down
snuggling up no i don't like little spoon to your big spoon
after we ate all the guys were like we're gonna play beer die and chug beer and
move around i was like you're die yeah it's a drinking game
i can't really explain it but no i was yeah i was a bag of shit and i i heard about it the
entire night what uh were you tired from the night before was there any extra
no not really i just get hit them hit them hard i was gonna say compliment you should
maybe go get your allergies checked because it could be an allergy that's maybe once you do get
I'm wondering that.
Yeah.
No,
I think it's a compliment for sure.
Okay.
If guys are looking for more grub,
so guys won't order in some dirty bird or something?
I'm just saying.
That's,
that's disrespectful.
That's 100% correct.
If you make an absolute sour to your son.
This is okay,
I guess.
Pizza?
Yeah.
Do you think they had less fun without you?
Do you think that's part of it?
Is that why they're sour?
Because you're the fun guy of the group?
No.
No.
It's a,
it's a two v two game we had four guys that didn't even need me they like making fun of jack that is
fun yeah so i wish jack would wake up jack is just so much more fun when jack's awake
he can rough this for we don't need a rough just let him sleep is he awake no how long is jack
sitting in the room just staring at you like there are some groups of friends where you get the
the uh the permanent marker at that point they start balancing things on you jerks that's not good
The permanent marker on the face.
The marker's no good.
Oh.
I always get a little cringy when those come out.
I'm like, I don't know.
That was you.
Would you like that?
That's tough.
The permanent marker?
No, like at a golf course.
Was this at your buddy's house?
Yeah.
I mean, if you're going to pass out from food or booze or whatever.
Yeah.
Okay.
But man,
when you're out,
like you're out in public,
you pass out of a golf course or somewhere.
That's not a.
You know why Rhett's laughing.
He's thinking about multiple instances of falling asleep in public.
I am not home.
I'm not close to home.
I can't trust any of these assholes to get me home.
I'm going to snore.
I am no good.
I shit myself.
Close call today.
Something like, yeah, it was a close.
All good, though.
Yeah.
All good.
On the show tomorrow, we will react to the two games tonight.
In depth.
Yep.
Go vote, people.
Oh, yeah, vote date.
Did you go vote?
Jack, can't vote?
Yeah, he's old enough.
Yeah, I can vote.
I don't.
Old enough.
Is he Canadian or is he just here uninvited?
I'm both.
So, Dooley.
I got the text from my kid who is also old enough to vote.
Yeah.
He says, hey, dad, when I voted this morning, they accidentally crossed your name out instead of mine.
Ha!
So I don't know what you're going to do.
Oh.
So old, old Nelly with the,
the ruler and the pencil.
Right.
Yeah.
Is there another way we can do this?
The shoveler voted for the first time in Canada and she was very proud.
We're proud.
Is this how we do it?
What would be the differences?
Because I've only voted here.
Well, it's always scheduled there, right?
So you're always voting on more than one thing as well.
Right.
So you'd have a list of eight different topics.
Yeah.
Some state, some municipal, some federal.
So I don't know if I'll be voting today as it turns out.
Can I tell you?
Try.
just try do we want to cut the show are we done i had bad news this weekend oh i got to share do you
want to share it yes you're in the trust tree right well i don't need feedback okay how to deal with
something like this i was at cardell the ranks yeah south fish creek cardel whatever the hell they call
and i wasn't on the bench for one of the kids games the other games i was on the bench
motivating them and doing great things.
You get kicked off?
Anyway, I was sitting there and a lady walked
up and said, oh, it's your son
out here playing.
Wait, that's the cat. Is your
grandson out here
playing? So I stood up and I kicked her
right in the, yeah. Then I
DDT or that's the right. Oh, yeah.
And then the cops game and I'm like, well, what?
Yeah.
No, you know, what's the Cardell?
Grandson.
Grandson.
Grandson.
It's your grandson.
out there. You crazy
old. Just
one kick though or? Yeah, just
I didn't want to. Are you going to be at the rig
tomorrow because you could have said see you next Tuesday.
Oh, boy.
Is your grandson
out there?
Push the button.
Is that what you went straight home to shave off the gray
that's the gray beard and everything? Start dying
your stash.
She's crazy, right?
You look great.
See you, buddies.
