Starting point is 00:00:02 I don't even know how we're supposed to start the show. Yeah, I'm just sold that. Just Kay, I don't even know. I'm disheveled. What? It's an awful trade, but my team is so bad. I don't have running backs. I have Tyler L.
Starting point is 00:00:13 So what do you have now after this trade? Slightly better backup running backs. That's correct. Two of them. Two slightly better back. I love the here's 17 running backs for the one star. Oh, well, I can only tell. You can always tell that somebody's stupid.
Starting point is 00:00:29 When they make a three-for-one trade and then realize, oh, I have to draw two guys now. It's the quality for quantity trade. So then... The quality team always wins the trade. They announced the trade and then drop one of the guys they just traded for. It's like if you're trading Dionne Funuff and you get four pieces back.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Probably one team. So you... So in an effort to get... Today's the day? We'll keep going. J.K. Dobbins and... Oh, boy. Marshawn Lloyd. Yeah. You're on a... Those are my... For Brock Bowers, Luther
Starting point is 00:00:58 Burden. You traded away, Al Jare who's... And for $39 in Fab. Thank you, Jack. It doesn't look good. I know. I know. It doesn't look good, but I don't have running back.
Starting point is 00:01:10 It's not good. So you can try and say it doesn't work. No one else would trade. I offered everyone the same sort of deal. I'm sitting right now. I have not received a trade request. You're not. This is a different league retro.
Starting point is 00:01:21 When you have blood in the water, you have to attack. Jack has empty roster spots projected to get shot. No one wants your one-sided take or opinion on this. Yeah, you're not the one. You're not allowed to draw. You've been selling this. Although I do see you're kind of near the chop line. Me?
Starting point is 00:01:39 You're in the danger zone. I'm clear once I had put these guys. Yeah, once he hoodwinked jazz. Unless Fowers doesn't play, that's the risk. Yeah. Yeah, I have three up to your roster thoughts. That's why I look bad. Sorry, folks.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Anyway, sorry, guys. Sorry guys. It just came through. You know how it is. Yeah, trades go through when they go through. Welcome to the show. Presentation of Bet 365. That's right.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Bet 365. There you see it. Five runs. Oh, yeah. The five-runnerly payout. Your team goes up by five. You get paid. It's that simple.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Download the app today. Alberta only must be 18 years of age or older. Please play responsibly. If you live, please. Super chats open. You're watching live on YouTube. You put some money down with your comment. We'll talk about you on the show and then get the money to over to the use centers of
Starting point is 00:02:19 Calgary as we are here in the McLeod Law. LLP studios, macloud dash law. com, whatever. You say anything? Need a lawyer? You got a lawyer? I'm going to need a lawyer. McLeod Law.
Starting point is 00:02:29 It's that easy. And they are, they love litigating they love it can they can they litigate this chop league because they should litigate because they also just litigate any decision in life that jack makes well he needs guidance he doesn't make any good ones yeah there is his his ratio of success to put bad is and one of the best parts about like even another layer to it and i swear folks we're gonna move on rock bowers who's the best player on his team is who he got because he was asleep when the draft started and it auto picked.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I have traded away both the guys I've auto picked. George Pickens gone and Brock Bowers. And weird that you're in the chop song. Yeah, really? Yeah, well, it's about surviving. I just got to get to the next week and then spend some dough. Okay. This is what I was talking about.
Starting point is 00:03:19 You have less of it now. You gave half of it away. Like traded like 5%. Anyway, folks, if you have, I know we've had people reach out to offer Jack life advice. but if you're a professional, like, life coach. Yeah, counsel of sorts. I think about, you said it yesterday. Jack's dad is a great guy.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Probably some days he, like, tunes in. I wonder how Jack and how the show is when he turned on, be like, do you recall, do you recall, like, it was February, because we were watching the Olympics, and Jack would not put the phone down in the middle of the night? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:54 He was calling someone. Bad move. Yeah. I think Jack's dad has a level of concern. Yeah. Perhaps. We might be part of that formula. How far do I have to go?
Starting point is 00:04:06 Is Alabama far enough? Honey, let's look at property in Costa Rica. Let's further away. Yeah, they might be going to Europe, I think. There you go. There you go. Yeah, Italy. There you go.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Lots going on. The Flames training cap is underway. We are getting closer to the first preseason game of the season for the flames. There's turmoil in Winnipeg. Big time. It's the team we're previewing. today. Perfect timing. Termole. There's unrest. Although not
Starting point is 00:04:34 surprising. This is what this is what? It looked like he wants a trade. He says he's not going to play for them. Then is he showing up? I would have showed up and taken my paycheck and it kept saying, I'll take the check. But when do the paycheck start? October. So that's when he'll show up. Yeah. There's two ways about it? I don't know anymore because it's a different schedule. Yeah, I know. You could do it. Well, we'll talk about that.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Regular season is on the paycheck start. regardless. Yeah, Pinda Report coming up. Been just in the mood, I think, today. Good, excited, laughing pre-show. You always laugh pre-show. Oh, not always. He sits in the corner and looks at dumb videos on his own.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah, Jack, put this in. And then it shows up on the show and that goes, why do you put this stupid stuff in the show? I got one of those things, just deadpans. It's always at the last minute, too. Or 10 or 15 minutes. Just grinding to find the one thing Rhett will hate.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Hoping to have a special guest, join us. And it's a big day for Retro and his Buffalo Bills. The opening of the new stadium in Buffalo. I walked in to the coffee shop today. Yes, sir. A lovely lady sitting outside. Gorgeous. Sunshine.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Go bills. Yes. There it is. There you go. I turned it to that. And then she was like, we got this one today. I said, we got it this year.
Starting point is 00:06:00 She's like, yeah, and we high-fived. Nice. All right. Then I thought to myself, it's too bad the bills didn't sell before Pagula kept them in Buffalo. Because then I wouldn't have to stress over this and be. Oh. If they'd have moved to like Toronto, I hate Toronto with a passion. Yeah, but imagine if they ever climbed the mountain, the euphoria you'll feel.
Starting point is 00:06:20 I'm like Dean today. It's, it's almost a trepidation. I think your buddy noodles is going to Buffalo today. That's awesome. I was listening to Overdrive a little bit yesterday, and they said they're going to be doing the show. I don't know. Because they're passionate bills fans.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Well, I think there's people that are, you know, Toronto Clinton. It's like when they went, where do they have to go to Winnipeg? I'm sure they were in Winnipeg and it wasn't for hockey. The Great Cup? Yes, that's what it was. In and out.
Starting point is 00:06:52 And golf. I think O'Dog likes golf. Oh, dog. gloves, golf noodles. There are sometimes I'm listening. I don't listen to them often. They're talking about a sport and it's like. Yeah, that's right. You have , Victor Hovlin can tighten up his chipping.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Now, if I, if I remember correctly, so tonight and I know people say, oh, you guys talk about football too much. Thursday night or tonight has the lions and the bills. Did they combine for 90 points last year? Is that what the score was? The last time they met was one of the high scoring variable season games in the last decade.
Starting point is 00:07:28 I know that, but I don't have the raw day. It was whatever 40s, 40, 40s. Why don't we have an AI unit ups? Because Jack clears. I got it. I got it. 4842, not last year the year before. Jack, GPT.
Starting point is 00:07:41 There you go. But that's the last time they played? Yes. Okay. So the teams will have some different personnel on them. But you look at last week and the bills did not have a hard time putting that point. I guess Houston of all teams.
Starting point is 00:07:52 The default is who's the best defense in the NFL? It's got to be Houston. I still think he. Houston's right now. I think they'll be fun. Yeah. I guess the question is the Saints kind of gave some fits to the Lions. Did they take the Saints lightly? Did they get up and then kind of quit playing? Or are the Saints all gas, no breaks under Shuggett quarterback there or whatever. I don't know that either team's great at defense. I think this is going to be fun. So I love the over. Bet 365. What is the, I mean, 54 and a half. Hit it. The bells are just figured they got the new
Starting point is 00:08:23 defensive coordinator. They're just coming around. They were the easiest team. to run on last year in the NFL, they're hoping they've tightened that up because that doesn't allow you to control the clock, yada, yada, yada. But that's where they made changes. That's right. Still coming together. I'm worried about if they'll be a little over-amped.
Starting point is 00:08:41 It's everyone's going to be geeked up for sure. Why that? It's now 55. Okay, it moved up there. There we go. Yeah, okay. Well, yeah, they're listening to the show, apparently. That was quick. Thanks. I hear it right on that.
Starting point is 00:08:56 That front screen? when you call for a video and Jack is like, bang, all right. Oh, oh. He's checking. He's trying to make shitty trades.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Yes. Let's try to get rid of Brock Bowers. I've traded away all though. Brock Bowers and so. So you have now Casey Concepcion and so you've got rid of your top two picks. Way to go. I didn't want them. They were auto drafted.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It weren't my picks. Still, they were top two picks. Like, he took a Cleveland Brown at 365 and again we've talked about this a lot of times you get to say well geez there's so much here
Starting point is 00:09:35 you can kind of get lost in a little bit but they will build some some here's some here's some pre-built bets this one this morning I jumped on and I'm sure it's still there both teams to score one or more touchdowns in each half I expected to be high scoring so okay both teams to get
Starting point is 00:09:53 with one or more field goals in each half, both teams 30 or more points. So you've got to be. Yeah. If you think there's points. Now, so two things there. Both getting 30 would be implied over under over 60, which is what we think, but the books are suggesting to be lower. And then we saw your bears last week.
Starting point is 00:10:11 They hardly had any field goals in that game and they had like 80 points. Plus 2,200. Wow. Yeah, I'm in. I figured you might be. Yeah. I figured you might be. We're going to go to the guest hotline.
Starting point is 00:10:24 this man I've maybe given it away already I've said it's a man well it'lls the field down a fair amount doesn't it he's a farmer he's a rancher he's a father he's a husband
Starting point is 00:10:37 he was a rustler and a Bronco he was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks was named captain of the Hawks at 24 years of age scored two goals in overtime in one
Starting point is 00:10:53 playoff series. Oh, I like that. Has won the Stanley Cup twice. Jack Adams once. 10th, all time in coaching wins. 13th in games coached. And is now on top of all of that, an author.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Oter. What have you done, Jack? What have you done in your life? Really makes it, yeah. You had a blackjack once. There's only one of these. guys in the world. He is our good buddy, Darrell Sutter. As we go to the ranch, there he is.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Can you guys hear me? We got you. We can hear you great. So just so you know, I'm glad you said here with you because the first 30 seconds sounded like either a eulogy or a like a celebration of life. Yeah, we're not dead yet. No, I meant me. Well, I know, I know. Geez, there looks like the sun's out.
Starting point is 00:11:57 You got blue skies. What a day. Life's good. Yeah, it's beautiful today. There, too. Yep. Are they getting the crops off up there then? They started last night.
Starting point is 00:12:08 First, stuff got dry enough. They started on barley here last night. So this is a coffee break just so, you know, I told the boss, I got to take the coffee break. Yeah, that's right. At 10.30. And Chris, is that the boss? Right. No, Chris on a field trip with the grade six is today.
Starting point is 00:12:26 They're running a, I don't know, cross-country race in Bashaw, Alberta. So he's coaching today. Good for him. Good for him. I was emailing with Daryl to set things up and he's like, yeah, we're sitting here. I'm just watching the Blue Jays with Chris and not happy. It's not good times. It's an up and, been up and down thing in our house for two months now.
Starting point is 00:12:50 like, Frigg, you've got to take, take hours off to watch Blue Jazz. He said, okay, well, watch the first inning, the third inning, and the ninth. Yeah. Is he holding out hope? Is he? Oh, yeah. He just, he questioned, he's in on every move. Who should play?
Starting point is 00:13:08 Who should bat? Whether he, whether they should say it's a striker ball or, or, oh, man. How heartbreaking was last year for him then? I mean, there was a lot of us. It was heartbreaking. Yeah, I think for him, though, being National League, American League, and living in L.A., becoming a Dodgers fan, and then in Canada being Blue Jays fan. So I think he had the best of both for them.
Starting point is 00:13:34 So either way, whatever he was betting on, he was winning. Just kind of going through stuff, and obviously you're coming on because you've written a book. You're one of the last guys I thought that would be writing a book because, I mean, we've known each other for a long time. We'd see it at the rink. And the technique with Daryl was, don't talk hockey to Daryl. Daryl does not want to talk hockey.
Starting point is 00:13:57 He's got enough hockey in his life. Let's talk about farming or horses or chuck wagons or how are we going to, how are we going to soften Daryl up to have a conversation? So if you started with the Chucks or something, Darrell might come in and sit down on the couch there for a bit in the hot stove lounge. And as soon as it turned to hockey, get up and leave, be like,
Starting point is 00:14:15 oh, shit, you ruined it. So it never seemed like something that, you were overly hungry to do. How did you get to sitting down and doing a book? You know, quite honest, my brothers and I did one years ago when we were all playing. Actually, I was in Chicago, but then later on in San Jose, the mayor's daughter, we did a book together there. She was doing it as a university project. And then about a year ago, the publishers from Toronto contacted me just about possibility of doing it and then
Starting point is 00:14:54 going through who can help you with, things like that. And it's not easy to do. It takes a year or so. But actually, in the end, I really enjoyed doing it. It's a good story, I think. I think it's not just a hockey story. It's sort of the lessons of the 45 years I was involved in the NHL. And then I think there's some advice in it too that it'll carry the book.
Starting point is 00:15:28 So, you know, in the end, it's fun. It'll, there's a lot of work and a lot of time, not just what you think. It's not writing a book. It's, you know, you're doing a lot via what we're doing today. and then sitting down by Justin Borton, you know, spend time out here with me and, and a lot of back and forth,
Starting point is 00:15:49 and then a lot of the editing part and then the audio part. That would have been fun. Hey, Redda had to read it. I was going to say, the only thing I want is that I could get in my truck and listen to the audible and Daryl's Reddit. And they even said that nobody else could read it other than me
Starting point is 00:16:07 because I had such a unique way of, saying things. Yes. So anyways, it was, it's all, it was all fun. It comes out, I think there's like October 13th, something like that. Here it is. There it is. Darrell Sutter, the Coat of the West.
Starting point is 00:16:23 The farm and the rink. There's, it's, it is from the brothers, your childhood, you run through, I mean, you go to Chicago, the injuries, then you turn coaching, one of the most successful coaches of all time and all of that. family and hockey in the farm there's only one I kind of said there's only one Daryl Sutter I'm glad you enjoyed it I don't know
Starting point is 00:16:47 that everybody enjoys the book process because it can be like you say it takes a long time I've always struck me as a guy that like your memory is is amazing there'd be times you'd come in as well I
Starting point is 00:17:02 well Guy Lafleur I played in this game with Gie and I'll get this it's like Jesus Christ this guy's got you got There's a steel trap up there. You know, it's one of the few good qualities that I have. I can still gather and keep all that information. Did you have to reach up?
Starting point is 00:17:24 My big thing the last two weeks, so in retro, this is on you, buddy. So me and Chris went to the rebels training camp, and then meanwhile, I was going through all the other rosters. And there's, there's a Warner, there's a regear. So pretty cool, actually, like, Frank. So then we got following the boys and then, and then Luke and so anyways, I just want to tell you, I'm proud of, proud of him. Yeah, there's actually lots of kids nowadays that are making your way through the junior ranks. It's that's, I guess that's the era.
Starting point is 00:17:57 It's unbelievable. Even seeing the Jerome's on at the prospect thing was pretty cool. So it's, you know, it just tells you, time march is on, right? That DNA is strong, though, that dressing room, whatever happens, and dressing room carries through to them, to them boys and girls, that's for sure. Tell us about working with Justin, because I imagine you would have crossed paths with this old man back in the day, part of that Islander's dynasty that, you know, you had some brothers on.
Starting point is 00:18:23 What was it like working with Justin? He told me he even brought, what, his kids over to the ranch over the last summer? Yeah, it was pretty cool. He brought his son out, you know, and they live in Toronto. So that was, like, wide open for his son to see all this. And it was really cool. see the Borns were from Kendersley, Saskatchewan. So even though Justin, he would go there in the summers,
Starting point is 00:18:43 but his dad was raised on grain wheat farms. So, and then Brent and Dwayne both played, the dog was in all four cups with Bobby Borne, his father. So it was pretty easy to, uh, to get through it pretty easy. Enjoyed it, enjoyed that was one of the most enjoyable parts was just rehashing all, all those old stories. Yeah. You know, I can't wait to read.
Starting point is 00:19:09 And I know a lot of people that are watching and listening right now will be in that same vein because there's so many things. There's growing up on the farm and the brothers and all that. And I remember talking with, you know, talking with Brian or even with you, how if it was, you play each other and go tooth and nail or if you played in the playoffs in the handshake line, because I think you beat Brian in your first playoff with Chicago against St. Louis, something like that. and you'd be in the handshake, lie to say hi to mom and dad, have fun at the farm,
Starting point is 00:19:39 because you knew they were going home and being put straight to work. Yeah, dad said the first one beat out. You guys get to tell home and get on because I'm seating. First one out. No word of a lie.
Starting point is 00:19:50 That was true. So everyone you guys get home. What's changed more, farming or hockey? What, pardon? What's changed more over you? It's 45 years of you're in the game. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I think both, both big time. You think about all the, now everything out here is GPS and big equipment and millions, you know, what it's worth and what your costs are. It's crazy. It's just like almost like player salaries of the costs that we have now here. But the game, I love watching, I love watching all these kids. It's my best part of watching the NHL now is the young guys, just how good they are coming in and how ready they are. It used to be, those top guys were, you know, two, three years away.
Starting point is 00:20:34 and now these kids are, you know, your first round is stepping in and making a big impact. So that's, I think, you know, along with the rules and you can say speed, whatever you want to say, but more teams and we used to think when there's more teams that kind of knock the talent level of the league down, but I'd say in the last two or three years, it's actually the way it's going has brought it up. That's testament to the development and the money that teams are putting into the development part of these players. And parents. Parents are throwing a few bucks into that development, too. Well, yeah, like the freaking, even Brett talk about kids playing and daughters and son playing in Chicago. What it costs to play hockey. It's like crazy. I don't even know how parents do it.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Yeah, that's not great. I got pinders in here. He's got two. One's a goal. Rett's got three on the go. But they make, they got all, especially Warner. He's got so much money. Well, thanks to Daryl. That's very kind. Yeah, he's sharing. And Rhett would tell us about the negotiation, how, walk us through. How did that, negotiating with Darrell? It was the best negotiation ever. I walked in and there was two scenarios. There's a three-year deal or a four-year deal.
Starting point is 00:21:42 He said, you can have either one of those. Call your, here's the phone. Let me know. I should have skipped the agent. I shouldn't have made the phone call. He should have saved the 3% and said, I'll take that one. You know what, Rhett, though, Pat Morris was, right? Was your, Rob?
Starting point is 00:21:58 Yeah. He was an awesome. Like even later on, I used, I tell young guys that were having trouble doing things, I'd say, geez, just get old to Pat Morris because you'll understand and see it really clearly and they'll work something out for you. So that, you know, that was, was that your last contract, Rhett? Yeah, that was the end of it. That was it. Yeah. Because I can remember yours and then I think it was Robbins too. I remember doing that one and just how you were trying to slot it in the league and slot it into a 30, Our payroll probably was budget for salaries with Murray then was probably $33, $34 million, something like that. And he had to come in under it. Otherwise, somebody had to go out.
Starting point is 00:22:41 And you're trying to win, too. So it was always a bouncing ball. 30. 30. I think that year we went to the finals, Rhett. We had just under $35 million, and we beat Detroit. and they were like 75 million. Wow.
Starting point is 00:23:02 And for, you know, just the way it worked, right, you could, whatever the owners wanted in their budget, that's what it was. Yeah. Did you enjoy the GM part? Obviously, coaching's in your blood. Did you enjoy that part? You know what? I, you know, when I took that job, you guys, it was,
Starting point is 00:23:20 the flames were not in a great position in terms of what, what was going on finance-wise with their team. basically it became almost a two-for-one cover where I was a GMN coach for whatever it was, one or two years, and then hopefully the team was going back in the right direction. And then we could do some, make some more moves in terms of the management part. So at the time I did it, and I've always said, and I think I said in the book, too, that if I had a choice again, I would have coach just stayed as a head coach for another year or two. and then because that was because the last year with GM,
Starting point is 00:24:00 and coached was the year we went to the finals. Next year was lockout where we lost all the players. And then the next year we had, I even thought a better team and won the division, then lost in the first round, I think, Anaheim. So like I even thought that was a better team, but I should have, I always felt, or I still feel I should have coached through that and then, and then transitioned into it. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:24:25 You did what you had to do and you had a budget and we had a good hockey club. So that mattered. Red always talks about that lockout year and how much that hurt the club. How did you see that year? Because you rolled off a year of contract. Some guys all of a sudden were free agents that you had locked in. Do you look back and sort of think what if about that lockout year? Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:24:43 I mean, I just saw the top of my mind and I don't recall the players good enough that we lost. But, but I know like some of the. like Big Si, never got a contract back. And there were several guys like that. And they were really important players on our team the way our, you know, because we didn't have the star power other than Jerome and Kipper. And then if Rhett decided on what day he was going to be the first star, but.
Starting point is 00:25:11 Rare. They were rare. It's the choice, Rhett. But our team was about roles and awesome, you know, the character of our team. That's what it was about. And that lockout sort of. we took a little step back and then we had to crush nail it again in terms of
Starting point is 00:25:26 getting back and and that was the hard part. I know what Red has always said and he kind of talked kind of referencing when you left to go and just be the GM and then Playfair takes over and that that and other guys have said it too Robin
Starting point is 00:25:42 and guys like that no one has a better read on the room than you that when you went to GM and you just weren't around the team as much what was it that that you look for? What kind of a feel or can you describe it when you know that the mix is right or when the mix is off?
Starting point is 00:25:58 Yeah, you know what? And that's the other part. And it's no different than, you know, some of the guys who write stories and all that. You watch the game from up in the air. You don't see it as good as you can see system and mistakes and some of you goes fast, something like that,
Starting point is 00:26:15 but you don't really get a really good feel for the team. And the best way you can get a feel for the team, is to be under the stairs or close to the locker room or going into the locker room and that's that's what that's what those winning teams have is that tremendous locker room deal i mean all you do is take past champions and just go through it you see all it doesn't mean they're all best friends or or brothers but when the when after they sing the song guys are playing for each other yeah does that is that something that like can you make it's instinctual you make it happen or does it just have to?
Starting point is 00:26:54 Because I'm guessing there's other times where you think, I think I've got a good mix here. Hey, I'll tell you, I know what you're going to say, but I'm going to tell you a really good story that just kind of sums that all up. And two guys that I coach that could handle it really well like that. One was Brian Marshman, had him in Chicago, San Jose and Calgary. And the other was rat. And they always, and those are two guys that jump out at me right away, even though the cup guys in the L.A. were, you know, most of them were all awesome like that. But they got a handle on it before you did.
Starting point is 00:27:24 And once you knew they had it, then it was their room again, right? There's always times where the, where as a head coach, I felt I had to take the room away, which usually meant being a bad guy or a hard ass, and then give it back to them and let, let the leaders have it. But there was times where I just, where you just knew that those guys could, they got it, they got, gives me shivers even talking about it, because even you come. walk off the bench and you might have something in your mind and you knew those guys handled it and dealt with it and that that's that's what a good team's about did you know kipper was that good i remember when i i remember being in i remember being in the gym because that's where i lived you know i was in the gym and you walked in we said we traded and needed a goalie and knew that i'm like kipas off i'm like i don't know who the hell you're talking about but sure did you know what you were getting you probably asked that yeah lots of times But I think first off in that, we were really looking right from day one for that.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Because I felt that we were right there, but we needed that goal that could take us to the next level. And obviously, I was familiar with Kipper in San Jose. If you look out, they had Nabokov and Kippur is there. And actually, Hedberg was there. And Toskerah. But Hedberg was there also. And Kippur was sort of the young, the guy that hadn't been over. He hadn't been in America enough to go ahead of those guys.
Starting point is 00:28:52 And, you know, you just sensed it always when you were preseasoned and when you'd come up and play a few games, things like that. You always sense that, man, this guy's, he's got it. Like, just give him the opportunity and let him run with it and see what happens. And so that was the impetus of that. Did I know that was what Kippur was? You know, I don't think anybody could say that honestly, but he's a pretty good player.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Yeah, he's a pretty good player. What was the hardest deal that you ever had to do from a personal standpoint? From a GM, you got to make it move, but what was the hardest one to see a guy leave? Good question. In Calgary? Sure. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Maybe Dion, just because, you know, it played with Brent. We dropped, took him in that national draft, and that first round was crazy. I think he was the third defenseman taken. And then he'd say, signed the big contract with us. And we'd sort of went tandem with Philadelphia at that time was signing Mike Richards.
Starting point is 00:29:55 And we were sort of working with them on it. And then they signed Mike. And then we signed Dion. And then there was some, I don't know what you want to call it, but where maybe we had to move Dion situation. And speak it. So that was a hard one. I want to,
Starting point is 00:30:14 what the hell was the holdup in the playoffs? we were beat up was it not we couldn't get him in i i still say we he would have helped us win that stanley cup against tampa bay i wasn't part of the negotiations or any of it but was it was it was it just i can't remember was he was he not signed you guys no he wasn't signed he had his first he'd gone back and played yeah junior that would that would have to have something do it something to do with that entry level then in terms of losing i can't remember losing a year i don't That's what it would have been. It would have probably burnt a year.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Or salary, I can't remember you guys. The other thing, too, is you missed the whole next year. She goes back to you. When you do see him, you're like, geez, you looked ready, but it might not have been the case, you know, a year and a half prior, right? Yeah. Your relationship with Chris, I mean, we love it. Everybody loves Chris.
Starting point is 00:31:11 You've included him in so many things. I was going through photos this morning at All-Star Games and. Stanley Cup parades and ball games and stuff. I mean, everybody loves Chris wherever he goes. You know, he's on the jumbo trotons. He's behind the bench and helping out. He's in the locker room. There's just, there's something special.
Starting point is 00:31:32 And I know that you had just kind of gotten into the, you were doing your young coach at the time. Yep. And, and you left to go back home and to be with Chris and to be with the family. I think it speaks to your upbringing, your family values, and everything. But I guess just the relationship with Chris that you've had with him over the years, obviously with Brett and the family, but also everywhere he goes that people love him.
Starting point is 00:32:02 You know what? I think it was meant to be when Chris was born and the challenges we went through and our decision to come back and raise him here for two years. and then be able to go to San Jose and then to L.A., California, when we did so much research to find out where, you know, California then was we thought the best place in America for kids with Downs, and we thought Calgary, Canada was the best place in Canada for Christopher with Downs and both, and we were dead on-on-a-and-so.
Starting point is 00:32:38 And so we just said when Chris was born, it doesn't matter, Chris still does everything with us. everything and we always said it becomes three whatever we go on a trip we go do something it's always Chris you want to go or we're going like it's always three wandig me and Chris said we go together and that's that's part of the deal and that's why he's fit in everywhere because he's a social guy in ways and ever you know as you said everybody loves him he does he loves sports he loves visiting you know so it's so it's pretty cool for him yeah and the best emotional speaker
Starting point is 00:33:14 ever. His pregame speeches are second of us. He had some written ones too. We beat Chicago in the conference finals to win the cup in whatever year that was 14 maybe. And we were going back to Chicago for a game.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Seven. It was one of the best series of hockey you'll ever watch. You go watch L.A. Chicago in the semi-finals. It was unbelievable hockey. I told Joel after that series it was the best one I'd coached in just because it was it was, you think both teams were, you know, they're very structured defensively and all that, but it was high scoring and, you know, like big goals and it was an awesome series.
Starting point is 00:33:52 But anyways, going back to Chicago for Game 7, you know when the players are tired of listening to you. So before we traveled that last day, Chris went in the locker room and had a meeting with the players, and he'd written it down, so he wrote it on the board, and I wish I'd taken a picture of it. He had three or four things that he thought that we had to do in Chicago to beat, The Blackhawks, and I saw me, one was, who was their goalie then? Run. You Crawford? Yeah, that was number one.
Starting point is 00:34:22 He had number one, run Crawford. Number two was, number two was Speer Taze. And number three was hit Keith in the, you know what. So anyways, and the players all laughed and frankly, okay, let's go to the airplane. We go to Chicago. And we end up in overtime. Yeah. Oh, man. Those, those teams that you had in L.A.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Because the first one, you come in part way through and you finish is an eighth seed. And then you beat the one seed, the two seed, the three seed. And you guys just, you were the first eighth seed. It was like, I've never talked to you about it. But when you went into that room in L.A., what was your, what was your read on that team? was they needed a kick in the ass? Because clearly you get there and the talent starts to shine and they start to play better and you go on to win a cup.
Starting point is 00:35:20 But what was, was there one or two things you felt you had to do when you went in to L.A.? Actually, you know what? That was a really good hockey club. So I know, you know, I went in there and you get lots of credit for it. That was a really good hockey club. Dean Lombardi, who was the general manager at the time, came to state at the farm for a few days prior to me taking the job.
Starting point is 00:35:39 And we watched, like I watched, probably 10 games. And then I still remember the last time I watched live, they got beat like 8-2 or something. They were in, I think, in Buffalo. And I remember, and I was going, you know, because Terry Murray was a coach, I thought he was a really good coach.
Starting point is 00:35:54 And they were, you know, doing a lot of really good things. But the big problem they had is they never had the puck. Like they were so good in their own zone, but their whole thing was dump it out, dump it in. And so then the other team had the puck all the time, and they were always defending. And we just made it. okay, we're going to keep the puck.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Like that, that was the whole thing, was puck possession. And then out of that came out of Linux. We started our own analytic program with the three things. And it's dead on. It was zone time, puck possession, shot volume. And those three, you want to win the cup? You want to win games? Just frigging be in the 60s and that.
Starting point is 00:36:34 And you're moving. So those are the big things. And then on top of me going in there was Dean made the trade for Jeff Carter and we called up Dwight King and Jordan Nolan and we became like a big fast team almost like overnight like that was everybody was says they were a big tough team well they were were a fast team and it was built on a goalie, the defenseman and the centerman and that still should be the premise of how you win a championship your goalie, your defenseman and your sentiment and then you work out from there and we had trouble scoring even when we won the cup in 14 we traded
Starting point is 00:37:10 for Gabby, Marion Gabrick, because we knew we needed some scoring to win the championship again. So it just tells you how it all, what did I think that locker? It was awesome. There was more captains in that room than all the NHL teams put together. Like incredible, the way they could take charge of everything. And once they understood what I wanted to do and just let them go. And quite honestly, the only guys I knew in that room were I'd known a little bit through the others was Matt Green, Jared Stoll, and then Colin Fraser,
Starting point is 00:37:42 who'd played for Brent and Reddair. So those were the only guys I knew going in there. Yeah, those teams, you just chewed, you chewed up teams and spit them out. There was that, like you say, that whatever, four-year stretch, you win, then you lose to Chicago, then you win again. The Hawks and Kings, those were just heavyweight tilts every time.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Yeah, we believed we should have won four cups. Like, we believed it strongly. Like in year four after we won the cup, we didn't make the playoffs with 90, whatever it was 98 or whatever it was points. You know, guys, we had more guys have surgeries that going into that year and guys not, you know, they say they're ready and guys played. And I'm telling them that after that last game we played that, I was more proud of them
Starting point is 00:38:25 that year than when we won the cup. Yeah. Two of the last few years, just for everything they did that year to try and you could just see that left it all there. And then here, you think about what could have been in so many ways, whatever was 2022. You guys have 50 wins. You win the division. Johnny gets the OT goal against the stars. And then you run into McDavid in round two. You think about where the team is now and where it's been since. 22 doesn't feel like it was that long ago. Yeah, I think got to look at the numbers.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Yeah, I just think that, you know, that was still a really good year for the flames. I think that, you know, we beat Dallas out Johnny scoring the OT goal. And then against, against the others, correct? Yeah. Chris Tannov gets hurt against Dallas, so you don't have, you don't have Tanny out there against against Staventon's big boys. And then Z played with, I think he had broken ribs. So I guarantee that, and then we, like, I could go on and on about that, but that team was,
Starting point is 00:39:30 was a special team and they were close. Like, they were, they were probably one centerman away from going all the way if we could have stayed healthy. is there anything we could have done in 03, 04, different? Well, we're as close as we could get, but. Yeah, here's the thing I always go back to on it, Rhett, is, okay, the Stanley Cup final. The score after seven games, I think, was 12, 10. Like seven games, like you look at it.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Like it's freaking crazy. So what could you do different? Think of the overtime games, one-nothing games, two-one games, even game seven. two one. Like you think all this is one shot and, you know, and both Kipper and Abby Bullen were awesome. You know, they both teams block shot,
Starting point is 00:40:18 crazy block shots, things like that, but it was just one goal. Like you played, he played seven games and you, like, I think it's, at that time, I think it was the lowest scoring ever series and maybe it's second or third. Now, lowest scoring Stanley Cup seven game final ever.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Will you coach again? No. I had enough 45 years. I couldn't like I could ask that lots or teams say if you're interested and I said frig I don't know if I lost a practice. Brick I had to stand by by Cope the last two years in LA because no and nobody touch in practice. I just go stand by him. Because I don't you know, Rhett kind of threw it out there. Some guys have talked about it. Does the Edmonton Oilers have two of the best. players in the world and it just seems like it's systems and its little things. Yeah, if I could go. Okay, the best way to sum that up, if I could just coach home games and playoff games, I'm in.
Starting point is 00:41:21 I like road trips. Yeah, that's perfect. Tandem. Yeah, well, we did, yeah, we had some trips road. We even had road trips in the truck. You mean Ronnie. Yeah. I'm up for those anytime.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Yeah, I know. that's cool I love hey I love the game and I love the game but that's a long time and physically you got mentally I could still
Starting point is 00:41:46 like I still have trouble watching NHL games because you're that switch goes on too easily doing games you should do this should do you know like that sort of thing but physically you got to be able to do it too and you know you got to be fresh and ready to roll all the time and I just don't know if I can do there
Starting point is 00:42:01 do people know how wound up you get or how into games you get because when that we see you on TV or we watch the games, you seem like you're just kind of, hey, there's just a walk in the park. But there's a fire that those that are around you know that you have, that there's a real intensity that you have.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Is that part of why it's? I think it's something I've learned about myself now, not coaching is, is, you know, I always said game day was game day, and that's true. Like, that was it. Like, you get ready for the game and you play the game
Starting point is 00:42:34 and you leave it all out there, and then you go home, the night and then start again. But, uh, so that's, that's how I always looked at it. And you know, you have so little practice time now that I, I still believe, you know, these guys should be practicing 40, 40, 45 minutes and make sure you're doing it right and get that out of there and take care of yourself things, you know, all those old school things, but they hold so true when you look at it.
Starting point is 00:42:58 So, um, was that intensity or was that just, was that just caring about, caring about the team or caring about what your fans thought, that sort of thing, I don't know. Did those bastards lock you out of the room in L.A.? That's, you know, again, that's, that was when, I think it was after we won a cup. And that's when they were doing, they'd make them frigging movies about your team.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Yes, right. Like they were experts thinking that they knew why you want it. So they were filming your speeches and all that stuff. So I think that had a lot to do with. I think we lost in temp, and they probably knew I was coming, so the players just said, just friggin' lock the door. You better get back in that combine. Yeah, well, it's just the, she gets damp overnight,
Starting point is 00:44:01 so it'd just be dry again. And actually, we're going to, Rebel season open on Saturday night and then hopefully it's hoping to catch Wranglers opener. They play, it was second and third, I think, Friday, Saturday. I think the flames open and then the, and then the one night and then the Wranglers the next night. So that's kind of our plan.
Starting point is 00:44:23 Are you invested in these Wranglers with Brett behind the bench? That's awesome for him. Yeah, we watched, you know, we went to quite a few games last year one, and Chris went to more than me, but went to quite a few games. And it was a real hard year just because of the number of call-ups. And, you know, it was their roster changed just about daily. So hopefully this year can be a little more settled. I think they'll have a good young club.
Starting point is 00:44:51 And they, you know, they got some real quality veterans. And I think they have a really good coaching stuff. Yeah. All right, Sutz, thanks for the visit. We can't wait for the book. Let's show it one more time there, Jack. October 13. book is coming out. We're about a month away, October 13th, the code of the West,
Starting point is 00:45:08 Darrell Sutter, Justin Boren, helping him out getting the words on paper. Now, did you do the audio book? Yeah, I did. We did it. I did it. I drove to Evanton like eight times, and I said, the last time I said, this editing, so you read the book and then it's editing with your out of Toronto, the editors that do it with you. And that was getting little. I said, that's just the way I talk. Some guys, Charon, telling you how to talk. Like, if you wanted somebody else to read it, then, Frank, go, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Say hi to Chris for us. Yeah, you guys are the best. I love you and frigging them. I'm glad we got good people on our Calgary podcast. You guys are awesome. Well, we miss you. We hope to see you soon. Keep me up to date on young fellow there.
Starting point is 00:45:59 Yeah, I will. Thanks, Darrell. Okay, see you guys. There he is. Daryl Sutter. Book coming out in a month. One of the, I've said this over the years so many times.
Starting point is 00:46:11 How would you ever stop talking to him? Like you hate to hang up? It's like we could talk. Go forever. Well, that's just it. We didn't dig into anything. How was it in San Jose? Didn't mention San Jose.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Yeah, didn't talk about San Jose. And it's your brothers. I mean, Jesus, so much. Yeah. What about when you were playing in Chicago and working with Mike back in the, yeah, didn't talk about it. You worked for Mike Keaton and then you hired him. What about that time when you,
Starting point is 00:46:33 fell in the barn and had your broke your skull and your shoulder. Yeah, fairly died. What about when you were, uh, there's, was on the ice in, forget where it was, hit a someone, they were throwing coins in the ice, skated over a coin, tripped and separated your shoulder. Oh. It had to be in Philly jerks. God. But yeah, it's, you could, you could go forever.
Starting point is 00:46:57 45 years. That he narrates the book. I was joking. And I was thinking it when he was coming on. I'm like, I don't want to listen to it, but I want to hear him read it. So we had Justin on this summer and chatted with him a great length about making the book and his career and, you know, bringing his family out to see Daryl. And he's like, if the pre-sales are going well, we're going to get Daryl to read this. Like as soon as the book hits a certain threshold, they're like, okay, now we unlock more budget to do this. Yes, let's go.
Starting point is 00:47:24 So good. And the other part of it is too. And we've, you would see it is how sharp he is. He talks about analytics. Yeah. He was always, he would always trot out, well, you guys know this. It was 30%, 60%, the 6th, 7th. He was an analytics guy from the beginning.
Starting point is 00:47:45 He didn't look like one, but he was. Yeah. Right. You'd say, oh, that's a rough and tumble, a gruff guy from the prairies. He's not going to be, well, no, he definitely was keeping track of scoring chances, not just goals. And like, he talks about possession holding the puck. That's pretty much, that's what we talk about first when when analytics started.
Starting point is 00:48:01 It's like, well, yeah, like having the puck. easier than chasing it all night. He's going to the Hall of Fame. Like, I don't know. How could you not? When you look at that career and he, you said he's what, 10th all time wins, 13th all time in games coached.
Starting point is 00:48:18 And then it's two cups. The playing career on top of that. Like maybe it's a builder. I don't know where, but he's got to be there sometime. Yeah. And it's just, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:26 we quibble about, you know, it's behind doors. You never know how they're going to vote or what matters. Then 30 years after getting past, a guy gets in. But like, let's get her going here.
Starting point is 00:48:34 The guy belongs there. Yeah, that's he's I already thought he was Yeah Do you believe in when he says he won't coach again? Yep, I do. Yeah. And I,
Starting point is 00:48:46 you know, he wouldn't have said it, but if the others didn't call him this past summer, well, it's like, I mean, the other thing is too,
Starting point is 00:48:54 you think about, say Brett, even just little things that he talks about. Imagine learning under that coaching tree. I was just going to say he is coaching. He'll always be coaching. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:04 If Brett's coaching, who are you calling? Well, like you said, he turns on the game, he can't turn it off. Buy him, buy him a ticket to a game and sit beside him and watch the game with him and learn. He would always have, he would always have that perspective on the game, that he went into Calgary and did what he did. And then similarly went into L.A. and did what he did. Now, there's, San Jose was a juggernaut. I mean. Yeah, because he went, it.
Starting point is 00:49:34 in here and you guys go immediately. LA, they went. And then, yeah, because he had left. He was with Chicago. And I think he lost in the conference final in Chicago as coach and then came back to the farm to be with Chris for two years. And then Dean Lombardi, hey, you want to come to San Jose? We'll help with the family.
Starting point is 00:49:55 We'll do it. Whatever you guys need. We're here to, sure, let's do it. Hallfamber. So there you go. Love that. That 2012 team was just absolutely. insane i i'm not joking when i think about good hot series that chicago la series is maybe as good a hockey as you'll ever watch
Starting point is 00:50:19 yeah like the olympics are wonderful but it's not best on but it's two teams that truly believe that had high and talented excellent coaches goal tenders like it was such good hockey he takes over that team in 12 where we noted it. They had all the talent, but they find themselves out of the playoff pitcher when he comes in. They barely squeak in, but they're playing much better. He's unlocked the team. Five game series win, four game
Starting point is 00:50:46 series win, five game series win. That's so they get to the final and I believe they got up three oh on the devils before they won in six. Like, they were an absolute meat grinder. There was not a series, another team was in that faced them. They were just in control the entire postseason run. Yeah. And on the way, they were the eighth seed.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Vancouver was the first seed. St. Louis was seated second, Phoenix third. Crazy. They went up 3-0 in all series. Like, it's one of the most dominant runs we've seen. And then you flip it. Two years later, they trailed San Jose 3-0 in round one.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Remember that and came back to win that one in seven, beat the ducks in seven, Chicago in seven. Not a war. And then the Rangers first. Right? So it's the complete opposite. How do you want to do it? So there we go. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:51:34 October 3rd. You can pre-order the book now. Go get it. Or wait for the auto book like that. It did look nice on the farm there. Did look really nice. It did look nice up there. Adrenaline source for sports.
Starting point is 00:51:46 I got one today. Are you? I got to go. Yeah. Do you? What do you get? I got to get a helmet, gloves. I'm somehow, I'm convinced I'll be roped into a new stick.
Starting point is 00:51:56 I always, yeah. Yeah, that's usually what to add one about this. View one of the top stick selections in the city. And before you try one or before you buy it, try it in the shooting gallery. Latest sticks from Bauer, CCM, True Warrior, Sherwood, find the one that matches your game. You don't have to settle.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Look at this. They don't have the one I like, Dad. Wrong. Okay, fair enough. Looking for something that's truly yours. You can customize your stick, but that is, you know what it is. Sticks are expensive.
Starting point is 00:52:25 There is something a little bit more puts your mind at ease as a parent or as the purchaser when you can try it in there and get the feel and that the kid feels good about it. and you feel good about it. That's what you get at. Adrenaline source for sports. And yes, until the end of the month, mentioned Barn Burner at any adrenaline source for sports location. You get a free skate sharpening. That's one per customer. And the half price skate sharpening cards. Unlimited skate sharpenings, it'll run through until June 30th of next year. But the sale ends at the end of the month. 300 bucks, regular price 600. The entire family can use the card. So there you go. Adrenaline taking good care of you.
Starting point is 00:53:02 adrenaline source for sports. 9309. McLeod Trail South, Northland Village Mall, and in the Flames commuter arena. Don't have the big selection of the You can go over to Chick-fil-A after or the shake shit. Yeah, you can do whatever.
Starting point is 00:53:17 It's all kinds of stuff over there. You know what they got there too now? Say Jersey mics. Subs. Oh. Just south. Just a little bit south of adrenaline. There's a donut chalk down there.
Starting point is 00:53:30 That's good stuff. I got Jersey mics. They, like, if you all have the cold cut, whatever, they start doing the. I got a deli slurs for you at home. They do the slice. Yeah, they do the meats and the cheese, I believe, don't they? Not in the, no, not the S talk.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Other places that have them already pre-sliced, but it does feel a little bit more frouche. It's a nice touch. It is a nice touch. I just want to go sit with Big D now. I just can't get that. I mean, I want to sit on one of the tractors. They're cushy.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Pretty nice now. They're not bad. You think a beard go down on that porch he was on there? Oh, baby. Jack. I believe I've had a beer on that porch. Yeah, probably. Yeah, problem.
Starting point is 00:54:13 I guess we can get into, we'll do most of the stuff in the Pinder Report. Lots of news. Lots of news. Okay. Well, I'll press this then if I could find it. I think it's right about there. And then we'll do the...
Starting point is 00:54:28 Pindoo. Yes, sir. It is the Pinda report for our great friends at Village Honda. Your dealers, for life since 1987 up in the Northwest Automol and online at VillageHonda.com. The Calgary Flames training camp rosters got announced
Starting point is 00:54:42 yesterday. Boys, buckle up. It is a short, four-game preseason, an abbreviated camp. Rhett, a single tier for the training being gone. The test, the V-O-2, chin-ups. So sad. Team Red
Starting point is 00:54:58 against Team Black. The long names you'll know there, and they're definitely going to have to, you know, delete one half of the screen here in terms of getting down to numbers. Whoa, wait a minute. So there's a lot here. We do have the lines from skate this morning, which are a little more telling if you want to jump into those.
Starting point is 00:55:16 The only PTO, Alex Nealander, who did very well with the Marleys last year. One team looks like an NHL team. Daryl did that one of the years he was coaching. The other team looks like a bunch of guys that are wanting to be. I hope you enjoy camp before we return you to your clubs. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:35 That kind of is the case. When you look at the left, that is all the guys you'd expect to make the team. And on the right, all the young guys that want to be cracking through in the next two years, I imagine, plus some invitees, some tryouts. Yeah, the thing that stands out, I mean, stands out, Humberstavich is on team black, which is tough, mostly your HAL or back to junior. Well, to get to not back to junior. To get to that, let's look at the lines, because that's where it really does jump off the page that we were wondering how this
Starting point is 00:56:03 was going to go, and this isn't everything, but we know how it's starting. The defensive pairs have ball and Nimick together. They spent some time in Jersey, albeit brief playing on the same pair. I like that. You've got an offensively tilted guy with a defensive guy. Perak and Middleton, a similar thing there. I thought he might be playing with White Cloud. Who the hell's Harrington? Scott Arrington, I believe, is what, Spokane Chiefs? He was a big boy, second rounder. Impressed in the prospects game. One of the few junior-aged guys or recent drafts that hung out, they basically sent all the other guys back to junior.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Or they couldn't come because they were in college. Sure. But I think maybe a little reward there for a, he's like to scan. He's, he's a boisterous guy. Big, hitter loves to fly around. He's got a lot of energy. Boisterous like a pain in the ant,
Starting point is 00:56:47 like a pompous prick. No, no, it gets under your skin. Your boisterous is just means you're full of energy. I don't think it does. You're not an English major, so don't try telling me about, Jack, what's Boyster's an English major? Yeah, Jack. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:56:58 I have no idea. I'm not an English major. I can't believe that's where you went for the, determining factor on that. He's got the book club. I mean, he's got to be well read, right? Massive vocabulary. Huge lexicon. Back to those lines.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Can I say this? Yeah, throw the lines up. We talk a lot about play the kids, the young guys, get these guys out of here so Gridden can play and Hansik and all this. I am there with Bristevich. I don't need to see Hanley.
Starting point is 00:57:32 So I like Braith. Brestevich should be in this group. And if he's not, you need to do the same for him as you did for these forwards. I don't disagree. That we bang the drum a by. I'm sure they're trying. It's probably not ideal. I'd be freaking out if I was Brestepich.
Starting point is 00:57:52 And again, it's day one. Maybe day two, he slides into the top six, but it's not where you want to start when he's coming off the year. They have two separate groups. I get it. And whether you want it to be or not, that's a message. That tea leaves are not ideal. That is a bold. This is where you are going, kid.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Don't love it. Yep. And one of the caveats is that Jan Kuzenetzov, who I have been a similar sort of, I wouldn't mind those two guys on a third pair. He would require waivers. You could lose him for nothing.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Just make sure that the people are watching the show. And I totally get all of it too. And so this is a bit of asset management versus just meritocracy. I like him just like you, more than Pahall and Hanley, who are very serviceable seven, around the league that teams could find handy if they run into injury issues. For Stevich,
Starting point is 00:58:39 you're trying to figure what the ceiling is because he's young and very good. I liked what I've seen. I think everyone's liked what they've seen. In NHL play. It's not boisterous enough. He's not boisterous. But he might be. People don't like them. But again, just the kind of people
Starting point is 00:58:54 don't like it. My guess is they feel similarly and there will be, they're probably trying to move some bodies. They have too many Yeah, they do. And we might have an injury in the next two days and none of this matters, but the tea leaves are not ideal if you're Hunter Brestevich, and that's the one thing that jumps out of you at those lines.
Starting point is 00:59:13 You know, sometimes you've got to criticize the people that deserve criticism. All this asset management, way to go, Connie. Well, I don't know. Alex Neal and Erlian will be an interesting storyline to follow. He's on a PTO. I do not think he's a threat to make the big club, but he is the type of player that really could help the Wranglers. he was in a very effective HL
Starting point is 00:59:33 last year. Question. Does he sign with the HL team or does he say, I'm going to parlay this camp into an opportunity somewhere else? He's not. Wow.
Starting point is 00:59:40 Because he can play in the A anywhere, I suppose. You could also go to Europe. Fair enough. I mean, they've just kind of started, but you're right. He's that good.
Starting point is 00:59:46 And Brennan-Othman does not have a deal. Yeah, we haven't even talked about it. It's an interesting one because the Flameson had a prospect to the Rangers to get him at the deadline, a very minor deal around the time with the cadre one. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:59:57 okay, and he looked okay in the HAL. then actually put up some points in you played in the NHO club. But when I look around, if I'm Brennan Offman or his agent, and I see the number of wingers that are in this system and on this team, is this really the time to draw the line in the sand on probably what's not a lot of difference in what you want and what the team's offering and camp's already underway?
Starting point is 01:00:15 I don't really get this one. Well, and I have no idea what, have they been offered anything? Like, I don't. He could accept his qualification. He doesn't have a qualifying offer. I don't know. I don't think Connie wants them unsigned. He's a kid that can't go anywhere then?
Starting point is 01:00:29 he they have his rights. He's not a free agent. Yeah, but he's also not undeniably in NHLer. And it's like, are you really going to lose camp your chance to impress over, let's call it $100,000 or whatever? Like, I really don't get this one. It is kind of the flip side. Would you want the $100,000?
Starting point is 01:00:47 Not if it costs me a chance to make the flames. If I believe I'm in NHL, I've got to show up and earn it. Take it a one your deal and earn it. But if you can wait a week, it might be. You know, I have no idea what's going on behind the scene. Yeah. But there's two things. It's just like, how big can the discrepancy be in the contract and the want and the ask and the offer?
Starting point is 01:01:04 And on the flip side, if you can't, if you feel like you can't make a flames team, where are you making it. Well, and if you do think you can make this team, like, you got to be here to make the team. This attorney cap is so short. I'm going to re-digit. Rebiggle? Yeah, I can't speak. Relitigate? Twitching out, Jack.
Starting point is 01:01:21 I'm going to look a little deeper under the hood here. And my instincts are telling me, well, he wasn't happy and with the Rangers. and he ain't, was, you not have, like, is there something that? I don't know. I remember when Andrew Manjapani had came up with Bradshaw Living, and they really grinded him on like less than 100 grand on a second contract, two-way versus one way. And you just have to understand, like the team has the leverage here.
Starting point is 01:01:48 You will get the leverage if you turn into the player you believe you can be, and then you can in turn turn the screws like Manz Panney did on the next year. In today's world, if you're good enough, you'll make up that money real quick. And if this was a eight game preseason and all the camp's taken forever, we don't play for a while, maybe you can be patient. But I just look at it. Like they're going to play four games in seven days and preseason is over. Who is this person? 16th overall in 2021.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Overall? By the Rangers, a first rounder in 2021. It's 23. We haven't mentioned this guy's name all year? He had a couple points last year, but it was junk time when they got into two games near the end. He scored and one had an assist in the other. Yeah, but if 16th overall, we should have higher home? Well, they moved Jacob Patagulli for him, who, what was the second or third rounder?
Starting point is 01:02:33 It was, they had a bunch of prospects in the same sort of age class, and they thought they diversify back getting an older guy, but he, does he want to be paid? How old? 23. Yeah, it's time to shut up. You got to do it. You got to do it. And again, at that age, if you do it, you're going to get paid. That's like, we could play one year.
Starting point is 01:02:50 Who's the guy in Washington? Sortief. There's a story. Go be a sort of sword. Or it's another John Beecher, a guy who was a first rounder, who's, now no longer. There's plenty of those, Dean. We don't want those.
Starting point is 01:03:00 A prospect necessarily, but why do the Rangers give up on them for a second round? There's more to this story. He's not projecting to be a top of the roster player. We get that, but if you want to carve out a role in the NHL, being at camp is the best way
Starting point is 01:03:16 to do it. Way too much Offerman talk. Yeah, and then, to be fair, we haven't mentioned it. He is an unsigned guy at camp. We've talked about it. We can move on. I have a question. I wanted to ask a question,
Starting point is 01:03:29 but you guys wouldn't shut up. Darrell mentioned they had a tough team as far as talent-wise last year and lots of ups and downs. How important to it, I should be asked Conroy this, but he hates me. How important is it to have a good HL team?
Starting point is 01:03:47 Is that even on the radar? We don't care, but does the organization care? I think the culture is very important, but if you're just looking at wins and losses, is that league is going to send you the wrong messages because teams with tons of veterans are beating up on teams that have the actual future NHLers a lot of times.
Starting point is 01:04:05 That's my experience working in the league for a couple of years, is that if you can somehow blend winning and development, great, but it's very difficult to do. Yeah, like I know one of the things at the end of the year was, well, Martin FERC is leaving and is going back over, okay, well, that's a development and we're going to have to, you would never guess that Martin FERC would be a pivotal player or would be any part.
Starting point is 01:04:25 Well, he's a non-event on the NHL roster, but he's crucial on that team because he keeps them competitive, and that's probably why Alex Nealander's here, because FERC's gone. But he's a non-event, if you're just looking at the NHL roster, but he can help that team be more competitive and a, you know, a better culture to groom kids than I guess. Is that answer? Also, well, it does.
Starting point is 01:04:44 And I mean, it's kind of, you know the answer anyway, but yeah. Well, of course, it's better to have a better team and a whole bunch of stars that want to, yeah. But again, the challenge of that league, and Daryl alluded to it is, There is so much roster churn. I think it's the hardest coach, the hardest league to coach it in the world. Oh, way harder.
Starting point is 01:05:01 And those kids don't want to be there. We'll give you an example. Let's say Ida Arsunev or Andrew Basha is the best player in the American League. And you're like, oh, yeah, look at this kid. How long are you going to keep him if that's the case? Well, they don't want to be there. No. And if he's playing that well, he's getting called up.
Starting point is 01:05:16 And guess what you're getting? Someone with the pouty pants on because they got sent down from the NHL. It'd be like double A ball or something. It's a AAA ball for sure, yeah. Who's our third basement today? Is he here is who we got? Oh, it's red hot. Yeah, we're calling them up.
Starting point is 01:05:28 See ya. Right. New problem for you. Yeah. It's no fun for those. He did he is to crash. They did crash Davis. There you go.
Starting point is 01:05:36 Today we preview the Winnipeg Jets as we continue to move east to west and Canada. Would you have done it anyway with all the news coming out of the Manitoba? It was, we've been really lucky because we had some of the domy news yesterday with the Leafs, or two days ago with the Leafs. We had some of the days we did them. Montreal had done some business. It's timed out very nicely. Jack's got the or he's the Oracle over there. He's got the scripts.
Starting point is 01:05:56 I'm in it. Nice. So good. The Jets last year had 82 points. They went from winning the West and the president's trophy to one of the biggest clifffalls we've seen in a while. This is a great, I have been meaning to say. I really like this page.
Starting point is 01:06:10 I don't know where it came up, but you got it. That's awesome. My bot. Now, if you want to look at the bottom left of the screen, there is an asterisk next to the name Connor Hellebuck. And we can talk all we want about the Winnipeg Jets and what they are, what they have been, and what they could be. Hey!
Starting point is 01:06:25 Godder! Cutter! Carter! Are you there? Carter! Well, we got news. He's not there. Oh, shoot. He is not reporting to training camp. And this morning, Kevin Shevoldeoff addressed the media.
Starting point is 01:06:38 They have officially suspended him for not showing up to training camp, which is kind of what you do. Typical American, what a D move. You have so much sarcasm today that if people aren't familiar with you. It's the first time watching, they're like, who is this guy? So he hates Conroy, and Conroy hates him. and they well people take life too serious societal idiots
Starting point is 01:06:58 I mean two people text me yesterday and they're like are you starting a new podcast well Jack's working on I don't know if we have it right now Jack I know it'll be already soon it would be more probably you should drop the ass on idiots and be societal idiot
Starting point is 01:07:11 and I'd just talk about myself carry out Ryan he's suspended when he shows up or if he shows up is the question my gut is that he will show up before he starts missing paychecks, which is not in the preseason. You start getting paid once the regular season started. And Kevin Shevolde, I've said this today. I preserved that sanctity until they made it public when asked about
Starting point is 01:07:33 the hell of a buck trade request, which came ahead of the draft. The goalie market is unique. There's no clock. My obligation is to get it right for the Winnipeg Jets. That'll make sense. I.e, he's not getting the deal right now that are going to make the Jets better. And yeah, Connor, I would like to accommodate your trade request, but I can't do it until there's a good deal for the Jets. That's who signs my checks. worried that there isn't. Well, they will get a good deal at some point. Someone will go,
Starting point is 01:07:58 shit, I need to go away. And it felt like their crickets in Buffalo. Noodles had odd takes on it from some of his connections. We're like, yeah, we like them. But,
Starting point is 01:08:10 but. Yeah. Yeah, like the thing of it is, you start finding, well, who is it Ottawa, is a Buffalo,
Starting point is 01:08:16 is a Carol, whatever. Winnipeg could, you could look through the same lens, be like, well, Winnipeg would be one of those teams that could use a Connor Hellenough. They're a good team.
Starting point is 01:08:26 They had Connor Hellenug. They could have a goal that could really get them over the hump. They've had Connor Hellabuck. They've had a star blue liner and high scoring centers and wingers and all of that and it hasn't gotten them. Yeah, I mean they win the President's trophy literally two seasons ago and then
Starting point is 01:08:41 needed what, the last second goal to get past the Blues in round one. That's kind of eliminated the Blues. No, it was they needed a horse and what let them down in the playoffs? Goaltending. It was good against the stars of Colorado. Oh, wait. If you had a similar team with regular season success and then your goaltending,
Starting point is 01:08:58 let you down in the playoffs, you beat, well, we need to upgrade our goaltending. He'll be better than what some team has. But we never kind of flip it and be like, well, why hasn't it helped Winnipeg? Because Winnipeg seems to have everything if they had a top to your goal. I'll tell you who's doing that every other team in the NHL that I think. That's what's happening for sure. And I think it would be fair to say that Connor Hellebuck is the best regular season goalie of this era. you cannot say what you want to say
Starting point is 01:09:27 because the next category is full of guys in his realm that have cups like Vasilevsky or that have carried you through series like we've seen Shisterkin do or other guys like he just it's the one piece missing on the resume yeah like he's heart winner Vesna winner three last four Vesnes he's been nominated four he was won two of them what a
Starting point is 01:09:45 and the one year he didn't he was hurt for six weeks absolute debacle for Shevledale like he's do it does such a good job I think in Winnipeg The drafts have sucked for 10 years, but the trades for what you're given. Yeah. And he got those guys signed. It was an integral. The criticism was going well.
Starting point is 01:10:03 They'll never be able to keep Shifeley and Hellabox. So they're going to have to start all. Connor. Both got them both done, highly praised. I want to be a jet for life. And then two years later, yeah, maybe I don't want to be a jet for life. Yeah. It's a tough spot.
Starting point is 01:10:18 And it's a weird one because we see, like Adam Fantilli isn't at camp, but he's an RFA. This is the, he's in contract. This is the, because even Dylan Larkin went to camp and then got hurt. I did see that. That's coming on. That's interesting. Yeah. But the last time, I think we saw you, like Alexei Ashden, the last time that somebody has
Starting point is 01:10:36 had an existing contract and did not, and willingly did not show up to. Yeah, he held it a whole year. They say hold out. And it won't officially become anything serious until the season starts. It just makes everything more awkward. The fact that he put out that stupid statement, I get he wants out. there. He was doing the right thing and I'm talking about Hellebuck back in April.
Starting point is 01:10:58 They both the team and him kept the nose shut. Yeah, it's kind of out there. And then he comes out with a statement, what? A month ago? And you saw a shovel day off say it. Oh my God. I respected the sanctity. I didn't say shit. Yeah. We kept to quiet. Why is it out there? Why is it a big because you did it? And it's an asshole move by their part because they're trying to put the boots to the jets. And the jets are like, we're trying to do the right thing. So you sign this, you hold their feet to the fire and that like they must be of the mind that don't tell me there's no interest we know there's interest and the deals that they think you're getting are good enough just do make make
Starting point is 01:11:34 the trade yeah where is shovel they also like why would I why am I yeah I got no rush are you're got five years left here I'm not going to take a lesser deal just so you're happy he's done well in really tough spots I think of the trouba deal I also think of pier luke debois when he fell on his face there they turned him into three very nice pieces and debaubal was a flop with the Kings. That really gutted the King's system. This is another really challenging spot. We'll see what goes. Don't know what the Jets are, though, by the way. We talked about the hell about, but not the rest of the... Well, he's their most important player, and he's not there. So it's going to be really tough to assess what they are,
Starting point is 01:12:04 because he might show up the moment that he needs to collect the... How now? I think he shows up the last minute possible so that he doesn't... So you're just proving that you're a POS. It's a statement for sure. Yeah. Proving that you're a POS, but I want my money. like it's just oh i mean i have a hard time with that and i'll tell you what right like to your point if he had kept his mouth shut up and showed up to camp and is in good form the deal's easier to make
Starting point is 01:12:33 if he was red hot in october november you know what we don't want to see if you're another gm a goalie missing camp coming in and maybe not having a great year because we saw it was swaying two years what does it not say when does character matter does this not speak to character if i'm trading for a girl. I get that you want out of there, but you're really kind of screwing this guy. You're okay with this? Actually, it's all right. It's interesting without knowing what the
Starting point is 01:12:58 offers have been. It's a very similar thing to what happened with Brady Kachuk in Ottawa. He had time left in his contract. I want out. But the Ottawa trade, it seemed like that was good return under the circumstances. They got it done fast. Would we be seeing something similar
Starting point is 01:13:14 if Steve Steyos is like, no, I'm not trading? They had to be close. There was too much talk with the Buffalo situation around the dress. Especially when that number four pick, right, came from Chicago in the buyroom deal. It was like that pick is in play. Something. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:29 My gut tells me that something derailed that. Maybe shoveled air, I've wanted more, but it is true. There are two sides. There's two sides to every coin jack. Maybe we're out to lunch. But it doesn't come across.
Starting point is 01:13:44 I have a hard time taking Hellebuck side. It's difficult how it's, played out. I get the sense, and this is just my feeling and I could be totally out to lunch. They were close before the draft and they had some really nice looking packages because you had teams that were competitive with top 10 picks, be it Florida, be at Buffalo, after the trade of Byram, et cetera, et cetera. I don't think they've seen trades nearly as good as those as my guess, which is why
Starting point is 01:14:09 you're hearing insiders say, yeah, they haven't been getting good offers. I bet you the best offer they got was one they wish they took at the draft. As for the rest of the team, I mean, it was an unbelievable. year for Mark Schifley, 103 points, 82 games, 36 goals. Connor is still one of the most lethal goal scorers in the league at any given time. But now Connor's 29. Sheifley is 33. Gabe Valardi's a good player, often injured, but he's 27.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Call Perfetti is the guy. First rounder. It's time. It's definitely time. It does seem like Vigal Bjork's going to make that team. Yes. And that's, he's really impressed in some of the prospect stuff. He was the centerman that we kind of had penciled in for the flames.
Starting point is 01:14:51 If maybe the D, they liked weren't there at six. Carl's was there at six. And Bjork looks like he's going to be a very good player. And the back end, you like Pionk, right? Pyong's good. Morrissey's great. Morrissey's a stud. But it's...
Starting point is 01:15:05 Ebony and ivory. That's right. It doesn't feel as strong as it has in the past. No. And you also lost an Eilers in there, right, Dino? Yeah. And if you're automatically deleting, a hell of buck in your head. Well, who's going to platoon with Skinner?
Starting point is 01:15:20 Because we've seen Skinner as the one. That doesn't go good. I don't mind them in a platoon as much. That's when I still go back to the Buffalo thing. I know. Even now, it's like, I don't know if you wanted Brudolph look four, but boy. UPL the other way, so the prospect and a pick? It seems to make sense.
Starting point is 01:15:35 And like not in that, in that subtraction because they went at the deadline. And I don't know who knows what he is. But Logan Stanley was a first rounder and played minutes for him. He doesn't have a deal, so I'm not putting him in the big category. It's just looking at this D. It just feels. It's okay. Ivan,
Starting point is 01:15:49 he was in Pittsburgh last year, Jack? Is that right? Yes. Mara Ferrell, long-time shark. They're not bad players, but it's a third pair.
Starting point is 01:15:58 And Skinner. If I'm Hunter Bustavich, really, I'm looking at that going, I'm cool. How about I'll play every night there? How about I go play in Winnipeg where I can be in the lineup
Starting point is 01:16:13 every night playing the NHL? Last year, 82 points over understead, at 85 and a half this year, so they'll be a touch better. But geez, that's not anywhere in your playoffs, 85 and a half points. They are 40 to 1 to win the conference they won two years ago. 33 to 1 to win the division that also houses Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota, won that division two years ago.
Starting point is 01:16:36 Plus 2.30 to make the playoffs. And I do think there's real pressure there. It's a small market. Winters are cold. We saw prices go up. You're bringing in Canadian bucks. You're paying American. it's not great.
Starting point is 01:16:50 We saw softening the last 16 months in attendance as well. I don't know that that market can just say, yeah, yeah, we're going to jump into another rebuild. Maybe you should, but... Dumb Manitobans, go watch the game. You got nothing better to do. Absolutely nothing better to do.
Starting point is 01:17:06 Spend your money at the rink. Let's go. You get mad at Jack for clipping stuff. But how is he not going to take? Listen, you stupid Manitobans. Sorry, right. Go to the game. Like
Starting point is 01:17:18 Are you guys worried about the future of the Winnipeg Jets? Kind of, yeah. I'm not because the owner's got so much denarly. Yeah, I mean, they will be able to keep it there if they want to, but it's going to be one of these things ain't like the other ones.
Starting point is 01:17:32 When you look at the market size, the rink size, it's a different thing. Well, I better shut up. No, I don't want you to shut up now. You'll be shit for seeing things.
Starting point is 01:17:42 Are you saving it for societal idiots? Your other show? That's not fair. I'm going to say. come on I actually forget all right what was I going to say oh I was going to say there probably shouldn't be an NHL team in a town with the 750,000 people
Starting point is 01:17:56 if that's what it is it's a small market guys it's small and it's Canadian and it's not tax friendly nor good well and it's I don't know the economy in Winnipeg so well but I got to think that there's probably one of the big issues in Buffalo is the fact there's no corporate dollar
Starting point is 01:18:14 they got all the insurance right that's about it There's only so many companies you can go to for sponsorship. Ken Weeb and Kevin O think it's great. Absolutely. 4.5 million bucks in cast basement until we sort of what the hell's going to have with hell of buck, that number could go. Split time between Winnipeg and Saskatchewan. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:18:37 There's no home half the season for Western Midwest Canada's team. Jack wouldn't remember, but the Expo was famous to played half a year. in Puerto Rico and half a Montreal, that didn't. What? Oh, yeah. They play home games and Florida. Well, it sounds cool on paper, but. But we love Adam Lowry.
Starting point is 01:18:56 We love Adam. We love Adam. A great third line center. Love that kid. Kate is dead. Love Josh Morrissey. On a roll. You are on an absolute role. First star is already locked up on the show today.
Starting point is 01:19:06 Yeah, it's really good. That's it for the Jets. I think it's a way to see on their best player. It's a big thing. Other news we can jump to, Dylan Larkin did apparently get injured. Apparently. Who's this Horcough guy? Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:19:27 Get them the job. If you want to go visit this tweet from Max Bolton, who covers the wings, the replies are sensation. I bet they are. They are really. I'm not even here for the tweet. I'm just here for the replies. These fans are sour. So the wings come out on social media.
Starting point is 01:19:44 They have the press. Okay. Dylan Larkin is going to come. He's not going to be. the captain, we're taking the C away. He's going to be in camp, and he's going to be in camp. And he shows up to camp, I'm too injured. So it's a different way to do what Conner Hellebuck's doing.
Starting point is 01:19:58 It's the hold in. He's there, but he's not going on the ice and is not being a... Are you suggesting he's not injured, Dean? I am. Which is reckless, but it is the earnets. It's probably true. You're a society. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:14 Other injury news? I want to just beat up on the red wings, but maybe they can pull it out of the front. You're in a mood today. Let's go to the Islanders. In Winnipeg or Detroit? I shoveled a day off because he's actually got the job. They got four dogs. We know who's running the one over.
Starting point is 01:20:26 Give them a real title. Am I allowed to do this? No, you're only the interim. Oh, okay. Barzels hurt on the island. Islanders released this statement. Will not skate the next two weeks. Aggravated a prior injury,
Starting point is 01:20:40 inflammation. Does sound like I have, not that you mention it. Nobody's more committed than Matthew to getting his body in the level where he thrives in the ice. Well, you should have taken go herself all summer instead of water skiing. And it.
Starting point is 01:20:52 Nobody. I mean, Crosby's looking up at Barzole. Nobody. That is a weird statement to put it in. It sounds like AI. It's idiotic. There is nobody more committed than Matthew to, like were we concerned that he wasn't going to try and. Why did you mention that?
Starting point is 01:21:05 Why would you mention that? He will not skate the next two weeks due to an aggravation. Okay. We expect him to continue. Why, yeah. Well, yeah. How about just Matthew Barzell will not skate the next two weeks due to injury? getting his body to the level where he thrives on the ice
Starting point is 01:21:21 and they want to get it back as soon as possible weird I thought they'd want to just to drag on for years exactly exactly you're telling me we wouldn't have hi I built your Olegger with the New York Gazette are you sure that Matthew is going to really is he going to be trying his hardest to rehab and get back in or do you think he's just going to be a lazy SO being is he committed weems know some guys that have an Italian
Starting point is 01:21:46 restaurant on the island. We may have to go just for the food. And maybe Barzal's just saying, you know, maybe that's what he's doing. Maybe Barzell's just too much past and they had to cartloaded. Is that how you heal? No, that causes inflammation on those crimes.
Starting point is 01:22:06 Speaking of societal idiots, if you say my name, I'm going to backhand you. I'm not going to say anything. I'm just like, Jack's been working. That's all I'm going to say. You have ideas. So you just called for. Yeah, somebody said in that. Look at what an idiot I look like.
Starting point is 01:22:24 Seriously. You look good there. You look great. The eyes match the shirt, match the idiots. It's beautiful stuff. Good looking guy. When is the drop?
Starting point is 01:22:30 When is the first? Like an idiot. Like, I'm smiling. You look happy. Sidney Crosby is the captain of the penguins. Jack, did you know that? Yes, he is. He's been it for the longest time in NHL history.
Starting point is 01:22:45 He's the best. seasons is the captain. He passes. Longest time. Longest time. I saw some photos of Sid at the Steelers game. He had some G-chew in his pocket. Oh,
Starting point is 01:22:58 that was your takeaway. Hezerman was the longest tenured. This will be season 20 for Sid. How about Landiscaug? I didn't know he was such an old goat. He got it young too, right? Or he was a charity coming out of the O. Maybe the youngest ever.
Starting point is 01:23:13 Taves was young as well. That's a good group to be a part of Sid. I think you might make it. Who's that last guy? Raymond. Ray Bork. Ramon. He's a hell of a player.
Starting point is 01:23:23 I ask more about Billy Lindsay. It's a Bill Renner show. Oh, the greatest goals of Panther history. Okay. Pardon my search. I'm sorry, Ray. Out of the way. Bill Lindsay coming through.
Starting point is 01:23:35 Final note today. We talked about it yesterday. Kuturov does not have a deal for next year. He's pending UFA, but he's also a career lightning guy. He's got rings. Maybe it's a market with a little less media. Something to say. see here something not to see here while he was on the podium was asked about the NHL today
Starting point is 01:23:50 um the game not as a lot faster but dumb and i think that's that's all i can say yes it is faster but it's very dumb so low IQ in what way could hockey way i mean that's all i can say i mean that's obviously a lot of guys that has very high here and fun to watch them to play. But boy, there's a lot of guys that don't. That's all I could say. You could say more. I want more. I think it's a brilliant comment, though.
Starting point is 01:24:37 There's a lot that's true. And he also is maybe the smartest player in the league. When you look at his skill set and how he just wins hearts and pals up 150 points. You're dying to. You were dying to make this point all day. He's a magician. You've been dying to make that point, just a little slight curve. It's the way you make it.
Starting point is 01:24:53 It's as though you're taking something away from this comment. I sat and had lunch with the guy that played in the key yesterday. And he talked about how just reloads, reloads. They would almost be offended if it was a straight shot in. It's like, no, no, no, make it pretty. That's the environment he was born in. Can you imagine sitting up? Can you put earmuffs on?
Starting point is 01:25:12 Can you imagine going to lunch with Pinder and one of these people that, like, They're talking about the K-A-G. Reloads and reloads. Oh, my God. How's your family doing? What'd you do this summer? Oh, so they got it on the regroup with the back pressure. We were doing an episode for societal idiots.
Starting point is 01:25:30 Yeah. Yeah. So I meet that one. You could star in a show. That's what was it. That's what we filmed. First guest. But he is, I mean, to your point, he is not the fastest guy.
Starting point is 01:25:41 Oh. But he always has the puck. He's always open. You know, it's like Brad Hall. So how are you always open? How do you always know where the puck? How does it always? And he must sit there and watch these young guys that are flying around.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Yeah, no idea where they're going. Look how fast. He's never around the puck. 90% of these kids playing right now can't make an area pass. They don't realize that if you bank it off the wall into this area, the guy going that way will skate into it. Instead, they're going to stick handle and regroup and go through the two guys behind them and then
Starting point is 01:26:16 miss the tape to tape as they think they have to make. Yeah, I'm going to rifle this tape to tape through three guys. Waste high. How about just a little chip? Look at this sauce I'm about to throw. Yeah. Yeah, it's not getting there. But nice. It's very flat. Lightning will be a fun watch.
Starting point is 01:26:32 They're not young, but they have made some tough decisions saying no to Stamco's, you know, not paying radish, bring it in Carlson. It's an interesting because they've reloaded on the fly, but they also haven't got out around one. And it's the toughest division in hockey. This is one of the teams I'm fascinated to see. And noodles loved them last year. They were like his Cup finalist pick for most of the year.
Starting point is 01:26:51 Tampa Bay, how many years in a row? They kept winning. They lost Colorado once, so Colorado won a cup. But then it was... They got two and they lost to Florida. A lot of Florida representation in the final. So old Southeast Division, we used to laugh at them. Yeah. That's some stiff.
Starting point is 01:27:11 Oh, you didn't get out of the first? Well, we played the cup winner. That is kind of the thing. And it's if you're going to run into a Florida in the first round, it's going to get tough to get our first rack, whatever. It doesn't mean I'm not good. It's just, yeah, I ran into the team that went to the final three years. It's why we have the conversations about changing the playoff
Starting point is 01:27:31 structure. It's true. Try and have these top seeds maybe last a round longer than having to beat each other up in round one. Let's change the mood in the room. Gary, because Rett's been just I think the mood's great. He's a little punchy. He's swinging at everyone.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Strays have been caught, but it's time to get dialed in, Rhett. It is time for the bills opening their new stadium. Thursday night, football tonight, the Bills and the Lions. That's like jack watching Brasers right there. That's, I'm so excited. Hockey player. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:07 It's Brazo, Justin Brezzo. Oh. Right. Oh, my gosh. Oh, boy. Look at that. It's gorgeous. That will be the home of Thursday night football tonight
Starting point is 01:28:18 where the overrunner is now up to 55 and a half points. Wow. The Lions needed overtime to survive the Saints and a missed two-point conversion to get the win. The bill sung a huge number on the Houston Texans who have a great D and we are ready for an absolute shootout tonight to open week two in the NFL. Could be game of the air? How much for a last minute, jet?
Starting point is 01:28:41 Could we get there in time? We'd have a hard time. It'd be a hard time now, yeah. I'm thinking you're looking 50 to 80K just for the jet rounds, and you see on that screen there, that's obviously from Bet365, the SGP, that's the same game parlay. If you feel like, I think Jemir Gibbs is going to find the end zone. I think Josh Allen's going to find the end zone. The other thing I think too.
Starting point is 01:29:01 Josh Allen will find the end zone. I think Cook last week didn't find the end zone or had 67 yards. Like he had kind of a, oh, Jesus. Is Cook? Undo Plus. Watch him go off. One, it was Houston D. I'm with you on that.
Starting point is 01:29:17 Watch Cook go off tonight. For sure, for sure. Who has Cook? Could I trade for Cook? Oh, yeah, because you were, didn't have, you were in high. What a cook? Cool. Cook.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Hawson pepper? Hauss and pepper. That's the nickname. How about just a boss? That's good. I like Haas. Jace are off. There is a game that affects him in the stand.
Starting point is 01:29:38 His White Sox have fallen out of the central. One of the half. Well, that's the thing. The guardians have now leading the A. Central after beating the socks yesterday. So now there's a new you're chasing the new Oh well fine. Oh well yeah we can
Starting point is 01:29:52 catch the white. Do they have the tiebreaker over them? They do not. So Jack what do you think? Are the Jay's got same thing? They're good. They're back baby. Eight games remaining. They have a series of Texas left but they are going to have to reel it. Here's a wise man once said you can't lose your way into the playoffs team.
Starting point is 01:30:12 Hmm. You can't If they win your way in. Some teams, if they're well past the cutoff long and then lose a bunch of games and backing into the playoffs or whatever they call that. This was Scherzer last week. Right. We can't lose our way into the playoffs. We have to win our way into the playoffs.
Starting point is 01:30:29 God, do your part, Max. Did yesterday. Solid five innings work for him. Yeah, well, way to go. Five innings. It's 42, man. I'm stunned. He's still throwing the ball.
Starting point is 01:30:39 Well, they didn't have to sign them. I loved them last year, though. Very good in the playoffs. Stampeters in action this weekend. They are coming home for their Indigentia celebration game as they face the red blacks at McMahon. 5 p.m. start on Saturday. Weather looks good.
Starting point is 01:30:53 Go get it. Nice. Speaking of it. Must win, but feel good about getting to win. Must win. Yeah, I can't lose to an o. The more of a can't lose.
Starting point is 01:31:03 Yeah, yeah. Different way of phrase. Same thing. Meanwhile, Cabaret FC, they're on top of the world. They've already clinched a playoff spot. They can clinch the top seed. Don't get to be. I don't want.
Starting point is 01:31:13 want to hear about no fat cats. The forger in town. The stinking forger in town. Saturday, this is at three o'clock. You get the double header going, Jack, start down at Desper Spino's Zipprella Road. I'd have to leave the house. Look at that third item on the dog. Oh, $2.00. Do you? Did that on you? No, Dean. I'll have $10. That'll be $20. Here's a $20. Would you like your change? I don't need any. Here's a five for you. And then I'll give you some money on top for your tip. They really are trying to get us there. There's something for everyone there. I like that. lot.
Starting point is 01:31:45 Top two teams the league since they started the league and again this year top two teams, no surprise. They're always a banger when it's
Starting point is 01:31:50 forged and cavalry. I did. Student match. You could go meet some ladies. Is it the student match? Look at the top. What does it say? You're a student.
Starting point is 01:31:59 I guess. Yeah. He's studying there. Yeah. Well. You'd be in school a long time. Finally, the signs of autumn are all around us,
Starting point is 01:32:07 guys. Cooler in the morning. A little frost on the grass. Cars a little wet. And Pupkins. Spice lap dances are fine. Toppers. That's not just for the ladies. Pumpkin spice. It's for all of us.
Starting point is 01:32:23 That is your Pinda Report this Thursday, September 17th. If you're looking for a pre-owned vehicle, they've got over 90 units on the lot in the Northwest Auto Mall and access to more than 500 in the dealer group, villagehonda.com. Go say hello. There you go. Go say hello. Go say hello. So is that what it is that's got you? Your spirits are up.
Starting point is 01:32:44 You're jovial today. Oh, I'm stressed. Jack's yesterday. He's kind of mad at himself that he's invested as he is. How could you let the fate of some team on the other side of the continent control your emotions?
Starting point is 01:32:54 Yeah. And a team that'll notoriously bad at letting people down. Oh, not yet. That usually happens at January. Oh, no. I almost put bad karma out in the air just now, so I'm going to shh.
Starting point is 01:33:09 Can I give you some good karma? That's still the greatest hat you've ever placed on your head. It's wonderful. It is incredible. Incredible. Yeah, it's a Buffalo Bill logo-ish, but it's of a chicken wig. Did you get it, Jack? Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 01:33:24 Oh, good. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Of course. Yeah. Come on, idiot. Gamtech joined the, the Barnberger. A couple weeks ago.
Starting point is 01:33:35 Gametech, Calgary Company, headquartered here, started here in 2012. It's an IT department for small and mid-sized businesses. Maybe you're at the point. You're growing in that, but you don't have your own IT. department. Maybe you have one person and they're just completely underwater. Security comes first, not as an upsell. Ransomware and email fraud or hitting small business is hard, could shut you down and as a small business, you can't lose any amount of that time. Now, I don't know what this means, but probably if you're in that, they are SOC2 certified, a certified B Corp, which is rare. What it means is
Starting point is 01:34:08 they're being audited on how they handle client data and how they run the business. So when you get Gamtec, you know, you're dealing with the best. This is highbrow, very trustworthy. If losing hours to computers is crushing you, let alone being shut down for multiple days or we, this is who you call, gametech.ca. So just in life, anytime you have something go sideways, it's like, you blew it. Things just, the ultimate fail. This was one for the Mets. This is a good one. Terenza was one of the best defensive catchers in baseball. Gets that one in his favor. An incarnacion strand pops an O2 up.
Starting point is 01:34:52 Lindor ranging out into shallow left and the ball was a slop. Lindor, Bichette, and Soto. About a billion dollars worth of Mets out in left field. Oh. About a billion dollars. This was Francisco Lendor's right on. Oh, boy. And they're not exaggerating much at all.
Starting point is 01:35:13 We are talking 700 million in left field. Bichette short term 150. Lindor has got a huge contract. No one catches it for a billion dollars. Bichette kind of doing the, it's the worst look. He used to play short. He knows if he was the shortstop.
Starting point is 01:35:29 He'd be yelling at him and coming and taking that ball. Lindor doesn't and then no one gets it. Yeah, Lindor really didn't want anything. No, no, no, no. I've got a slow trot. You've got it, no. Fellas. Ryan, you're a baseball.
Starting point is 01:35:43 guy, whose ball is this? I have a shortstop. They were saying it on the broadcast, but you want someone that's running towards it or it's got a good line of sight on it. That's either the left fielder or the shortstop, and it looked like the shortstop was closer. And it looks like Bichette, here's something.
Starting point is 01:35:56 It might have been a yours, not a mine, but he kind of ducks at the last minute as if, did I hear some? Watch him duck, like that's, what was that? And it's a disastrous season for the Mets. They need GAMTEC. They're spending like $300 million.
Starting point is 01:36:12 Yeah, I don't know if GAMTEC can do. They're good. I don't know how good. Gamtec.ca for a free, no obligation quote if you're a small business and you need a little bit of help making sure that your business stays running smoothly. Saw that
Starting point is 01:36:27 Bichet cut all his hair off. He always had such good big long flow. I think that's a dick move. When you can grow it, like yoken it. Yeah, totally. You can grow a big thick head of hair and you just choose to shave it off?
Starting point is 01:36:45 That's some bullshit. I take it personally. Neither of you would understand because you're both very fallically, like you're... Are you that bad? You're so stupid. You're fine. With your friggin hair.
Starting point is 01:36:59 There's a lot of people way worse than you. There is, yeah. Still, it's... You can go to... Go to Turkey. AI will have this figure. No problem. Do it.
Starting point is 01:37:09 Do it yourself right now. You could probably just do it on your phone. Get a hair transplant on my phone? Yeah, it'll probably just... come up with some concoction. Or maybe there's just some drug. There's some drug you can take to. You got someone in the house that can mix all the-
Starting point is 01:37:24 Was it? Remember when Jose Tiedor failed his drug test? Because he was taking Rogaine or something because he wanted thicker hair? That's not performance enhancing drugs. Actually, it is at the bar, but it's not as with hockey. It's for my hair. Ladies like the hair.
Starting point is 01:37:38 When you have to have that media availability, no. Well, Jose, it'll all just go away. If you just walk up. Jeez. It's not this little kind of thing here. So that's what showed up in my pissed taste. I have a baboon ass on my head.
Starting point is 01:37:56 Yeah. Gross. Capital Shev. Capitalshev.comptialshiv.ca. Lake Fraser Drive 13103, Calgary's truck destination. Keeping that line up deep. You've heard about the $99 lease. That's a real deal over Capital Shev. Silveradoes, Sierra's SUVs, Denali's.
Starting point is 01:38:19 love a good Denali. I haven't heard from Claire ever since. Can he ask him if he get me one of those, not the full size pickup, the other one? What, the mid? Yeah. Like the canyon? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:31 Okay. I got a kid that's going to need a vehicle and that's what he's. I see. Staked his claim. I'm like, well, that's, they are very, you know what? Yeah. Oh, no kidding. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:41 Oh, they're nice. He's got good taste then. Yeah. You've parented at all. Yeah. I'll talk to. Out overly thrifty. but yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:38:51 Well, if you're looking for a no nonsense experience, then CapitalShev, Capitalshav.cahcate, 13103, Lake Fraser Drive in the southeast. Bingo, bingo, bingo. What are you doing for this game tonight? Because you've been talking about it all week. You're talking about snacks or not a week. You're going to have people come in.
Starting point is 01:39:10 You were going to host, but we weren't invited. It's self-serving, but I'm not joking. Okay. I was thinking of Mexican style of food. which is like Taco bar? Yeah. Maybe the baritiful.
Starting point is 01:39:25 Maybe baritful Thursday. Yeah, yeah. Not move. Mm-hmm. I don't want to start off on the wrong foot. I've got a long, long, the Warner family has a long history of Ranger
Starting point is 01:39:40 hockey under our belts. But these idiots. A parent meeting at 5.30 tonight? No. That better be a quick one. Kickoff is not long after that. Can you zoom your way into it? Can you face it?
Starting point is 01:40:00 What's wrong with you? And they're at, I would say some of the shoveler, but she's a bigger Bill's fan as you are. You think she's going to fall from that one? She'd be like, she's got her tattoos. She's like,
Starting point is 01:40:13 615 kickoff. Going to be tight, red. Peripede. I don't want to watch the bill. I should. Her tattoos? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:24 They're bills touchers? Tramp stamps. Oh, it's, societal idiots. It's so great when Rett's in these moods, you could just kind of feed him a little bit. You know he's going to give you something. Yeah, probably,
Starting point is 01:40:35 yeah, probably went too far. And people love, the people that are in them, those parents are so proud to have their kid on. Oh, we're going to ask some questions. We're going to do some fundraising. Yeah, we're going to do this. Auto drive, get jackets, rats. Then your kids are on the power play
Starting point is 01:40:51 and everyone else on the team's a POS. Yeah, spirits are high right now. Oh, yeah. It's just a bit and what a year it's going to be. It's like spring training. This is great of the stress of making the team is gone. Right. Baby.
Starting point is 01:41:04 Look out. So great. Enjoy that. By the way, you coaches are awesome. Keep it up doing a fine job. Oh, I see what's that. It's shameless. Shameless.
Starting point is 01:41:15 Let's do some bets for bet three, six, five. Well, baseball fans, nothing better than a day at the ballpark. How about five run early payout? When the team that you're riding goes up by five runs at any point in the game, they pay your bet out right then and there, win or lose, no waiting required. Bet 365, download the app, see what early payout is all about, Alberta only.
Starting point is 01:41:34 But here to stay. Must be 18 years of age or older. Please play responsibly. All right, I'll let you lead off to, you know. I threw this one together. I was kind of talking about cookie. 60 rush yards. Jamir Gibbs, anytime touchdown. he's just been on he's automatic for them and i do like cook to get into the end zone
Starting point is 01:41:55 and i like the bills first half team total over 12 and a half points hell yeah they're going to have that in the first quarter and the thing about a a parley and i with this game there's just so much to love but unlike jack it's sometimes okay that's far enough yeah three four like now you're don't add any more likes you're good there we're good there so i'll take the plus 290 on that uh parley for the sir rat i want you to close your eyes and imagine the new Highmark Stadium. There's going to be a drive. The bills are moving the ball.
Starting point is 01:42:25 They're inside the five. Who's going to get the ball for the first touchdown at the new stadium? It's got to be the face of the franchise. Josh Allen plus 500 to rush the first touchdown of the game. Passing touchdown will not count. If he catches it or runs it in, obviously it's the Allen will run the ball in short yardage bet. But I'm telling you, is this not the stuff dreams are made of?
Starting point is 01:42:46 New stadium, franchise quarterback. Everyone loves Josh Allen. inside the five. Cookie can get his one of the next eight touchdowns are going to score right. But right now it's Josh Allen at home in the new stadium
Starting point is 01:42:57 plus 500 for the first touchdown of the game. And I think he had the first one last weekend. I think he opened the scoring. Would not surprise anybody. I wouldn't go away from rushing Josh Allen
Starting point is 01:43:06 if you're at the one, for example. It's worked very well since he arrived there. How do you feel, Jack? What are wagers there? I could use a little more legs,
Starting point is 01:43:15 but that's right. Yeah, could use the few more there. could be easier for more. Get the app if you don't already. Again, 18 years of age in Alberta. They're here in Alberta. They're here to stay. There's the five-run early payout for baseball.
Starting point is 01:43:30 When we get into hockey season, they'll have so much there. So much there for you with that 365. And if you don't know a whole lot about it, like I say, there's pre-built bets and there's the things. It's like, oh, yeah, I wouldn't have maybe thought of that, but I like that, jump on it. They're here to help you.
Starting point is 01:43:44 And also, we talked about this last year, the thing that I do like about, them. When you're looking at rushing yards or whatever, it's like, well, what's, uh, what's the over under? If they have the over under, well, what, what did Cook do last week? What they'll have the previous week. And as the season goes, they'll show you the last three, four, five weeks what they've been doing in that department. Just catch us.
Starting point is 01:44:06 How many rush tips? How many yards? I love it. Just want to call it up here. Yeah, like TD scores. Let's seven saves last. Nobody can see that, Dean, though. I'm going to tell you about it as soon as I find it. Turkey. Yeah, so James Cook last week, 57 rushing yards. And the catch.
Starting point is 01:44:24 I think he's certainly going to do better than that. Will Javier Gibbs get 156 rushing yards again? I sure hope not. Take the under on that. I'm not sure. I hope not. Put a little dab per all the thing. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 01:44:40 I sure. Well, I hope that that doesn't happen. We've got a bottle dive now, just so you know. That's exciting. Congrats on that. maybe you could line that up for Super Bowl Sunday, hey? Saturday. We're going to get that over with early.
Starting point is 01:44:54 Swing by the old Pinder maze on a few empties there. One stop shopping. Don't you have to keep them for your own bottle drives? Not too. We have a parent meeting. We've only had one scrimmage. Apparently tryouts are supposed to take a month. Thanks, guys.
Starting point is 01:45:07 Where does he live? Oh, it's in the hooty-to-foo-fee. Yeah, if you're part of the club in a fundraising. We do not back on to lakes. Yes. Are we going to go and knock on people's stores asking for their trash? We'll not have that. How much money do you need?
Starting point is 01:45:30 Yeah, here. I'll just take it out of my, take it out of my cereal. I got a purse here. That's right. Do we have, uh, you got one. Oh, one? One. After the show we had today, one.
Starting point is 01:45:46 You got Big D. I'm sure we have one I'm not you know what doesn't even get the horn today oh no horn I like it set a standard team I feel for the guy that said it in but the rest of you smart enough I'm sure the guy not a shot at the person that's not it in the rest of the
Starting point is 01:46:02 christ from Long Island is your guy in Long Island and Chris has been great so Chris you know I'm playing the horn for you just nobody else can uh fellas right hip surgery set for October 21st did you do the left last spring or I don't know I did you see Johnny Lazarus predicted Matt Coronado.
Starting point is 01:46:18 Long Island's own will score 40 goals. I did. I wanted to check if Johnny was drinking or not, but I would love to see what happened. I got smashed and say all kinds of things. It's true. Sometimes even just, I'm not even hammered.
Starting point is 01:46:29 Yeah, yeah. Just drunk on the bill is a lot. That's a lot of goals. Like Cutter Goce got 40. And we've been very impressed. Now, Mattie wants to do that. What, that's fantastic. Challenge yourself, Matthew.
Starting point is 01:46:42 Go get it. Matthew? Like, was Coronado sitting beside him when he said that? my prediction is 40 goals. It's like you're at the auction and you just kind of keep 35. I'm already into 30, 34. He's going to get 35. Why not 30? 37 is he's 37? You think Huska's not going to play him more?
Starting point is 01:47:05 He's going to get 40. Well, that's not the 40. Last year, 18 goals the year prior, 24. So last two years combined 40. would be great. 23, so maybe it's, yeah. Well, he's the hardest worker taking care of his body.
Starting point is 01:47:24 He's like Barzell. No one is more dedicated to getting 40 goals than not Coronado. That's right. Yeah. Kind of taking the run of Johnny Laugh. Who are we, who's taking it worse there? Is it Coronado or Lazarus?
Starting point is 01:47:35 Lazarus. Okay. Well, I feel like it's one of those bold. I would say this. If he somehow ended up on like McDavid's wing or, you know, McKinnon's wing. Yeah, I think there's a guy that could score 40. I look at this roster and I wonder who will be giving him the puck for 40 goals.
Starting point is 01:47:51 Yeah, I don't know. Maybe he'll just do it all by himself. I can't believe you took a cheap shot at Daryl before Daryl. I had no intent to do that. That was a really bad mistake. I was trying to think a lopsided three-for-one type deal. I should have gone with the Joe Thornton example, but I went to the D-on. I noticed immediately.
Starting point is 01:48:10 Well, we all did. Yeah. Yeah. He wasn't subtle. Sometimes we get excited and say things. Jack idiot trade this morning. It threw us all off. That's how we got started to me.
Starting point is 01:48:20 Actually, that's right. I think it was Jack's fault for good. Jack, you can't use anything I said today. It's your fault. Brock Bowers for three left shoes. Thank you, Jack. I needed to get I need the shoes.
Starting point is 01:48:35 And they're all left meat shoes. So I'm going to make an awful trade that makes my team worse because I need to get better. I hope shovel day off's not taking his lead from you. Yeah. GM tips. My favorite part is going to be grabbing the guys I just traded Jack off waivers in a week when he gets cut. And they'll be worth nothing because they're all ass.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Yeah, I'll get them cheap. Well, that's good that you went out and got them. Don't have to worry about out been to anyone for Bowers anywhere, do I? How was the show today, Jack? Fantastic show. Retro, MVP. Sots, I love the Sutter family. It's always, I grew up with Riley Sutter and got to hang out with Ron.
Starting point is 01:49:15 I met Daryl a couple times. Always the best people. Great people. MVP. Great to make it look at you. Yeah, you know me. Yeah, you know me. Tomorrow, I believe we will have another one of our guests on the guest hotline.
Starting point is 01:49:28 Really? I think so. Oh, good timing, too. I'm going to try to be on, but I can't promise. To be like, engaged or like physically on the show? Both. Okay. Like, he was engaged today.
Starting point is 01:49:40 Hard of and coherent. What would help? Well, a Bill's win would help, Dean. Well, but I wonder, does a Bill's win? Does he kind of get into it if he's if they lose is he sour and more engaged? I think there's a higher probability of attendance if the bills get a big W and go to two and oh. It's a,
Starting point is 01:49:57 it might be hung over, but he'll show up. It's a mix, but no, he's played guilty as well as anyone else. A lot of my plate, especially with all these bottles, right?
Starting point is 01:50:04 Well, yeah, the parent meeting will be a blast for you. Take notes. Watch that drag in the second half. I'm going to just bring a sign and say, I'm a Bill's fan and I'm leaving. Just yeah, hurry up. Next, keep it quick.
Starting point is 01:50:20 See you, buddies.
