This is a hungry-ass hippo right here.
Well, you're cheating it. You're holding down the corner.
You got to hold your corner. It's not said level.
Hmm.
It's not the same.
Where's our boy?
It's, uh, what's happening?
What's happening?
Well, I'm just saying you're, you know, brother's sisters.
You can never play hungry, angry hippos.
Play hungry hippo with.
We bring you in to play hungry hungry hip-or.
Here we got the game right here.
You come in to play hungry-hung hippo.
Wanted to play hungry hippos.
Mm-hmm.
You love hippos.
Moongang.
I do love hippos, yeah. You're right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Also, I mean, looks like you guys are having a great day there. What's happening?
You're having a bit of a party?
Yeah.
You've seen him as a grumpy radio host.
You've seen him as a grumpy gear guy.
You've even seen him as a grumpy guy in Arizona.
But have you seen him as old?
Coming this fall, witness the Kijiji King as he turns 100.
Starring Ozzy Brad.
Craig Fonsonite.
Craig Conroy.
I thought for sure you were 60 by now.
John Gruden.
I do this thing called.
It's got me feeling nice.
And Jamie McClennon.
I thought you were like 50 like six years ago.
With guest appearances by Stephen Bruns, Peter Lippe.
Bardius, Kelly, the Regina rocket curse, and so many more.
Happy birthday, boomer.
You're old.
Like, really old.
This is going great.
Gross.
I was going to get my pants last night.
Well, thanks.
It's good to see you.
See some, uh, try the flight under the radar.
I guess that's not happening.
Hey, you just snatched you up on your birthday on a pizza day.
after Thursday night football?
No.
birthdays are optional, Ryan.
Do you do what you want?
It's your birthday.
I'm growing your hippos, though.
We just thought you'd enjoy it.
We wanted to.
Yeah, no, I appreciate that.
Thank you.
All right.
We got a gift.
Yeah, we got gifts.
Should we open the gifts?
Do you want to hear for some pals?
What do you want to do here?
I'll leave it up to you.
I'll let you navigate.
Not unlike other birthdays you've had in the past.
We've broken it up into pieces.
So why don't we start with our first round of,
congratulatory celebrations.
Boomer, happy birthday.
I can't believe 50.
I thought for sure you were 60 by now.
I could probably say the same thing about myself.
I hope you have an amazing day and Pinder and our boy retro take you out and really
show you a good time.
I know you'll be home by 9, but that's okay.
But wish you all the best.
Happy birthday.
Looking forward to seeing you at the don't.
Take care.
Dean!
You're turning 50.
The Manitoba mutant.
Buddy, I wish you a happy birthday.
I love you to death.
You've always been so good to me.
You laugh at my jokes, which I appreciate.
And you're just an all-around great person.
I look up to you.
You've helped me out so much.
I can't thank you enough for everything.
And I hope you enjoy your 50th, buddy.
Love you to death.
Hey, Boomer.
Scarriamo here, you might not remember me, but it's okay, it happens with AIDS.
I was very surprised to hear that you're still doing this.
You must be, what, 70 now?
I guess they're right.
Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose.
Anyway, happy birthday, may it be splendid.
Hey, boomer, how's it going, man?
This is John Gereden.
I'm down in Tampa, Florida.
It's a beautiful weather here.
just sitting in my office, I call it the Fired Football Coaches Association.
And, you know, Pinder and I are good friends.
We go way back and we've been talking a little bit about, well, talking about you.
And I just thought I'd reach out to you before the weekend.
You know, I know you've got a sports show out there.
I know you're a host for the Calgary Canada channel out there.
And I really have a hard time.
I'm getting the frequency here in Florida, but I've been doing some research.
I've been listening to a lot of your comments.
Well, I just thought it was important to remind you, you know, you never played sports.
And you're shorter than I am, and you're fatter than I am, and you're fatter than I am,
and you're scared to talk to people.
That's what I'm here.
And I heard you stay at home all the time, and you make soup.
And you make these buns?
Is that what you do?
I mean, you go home and you make soup and buns.
All your beautiful life goes to the Taylor Swift.
I mean, I do this thing called for your 50th birthday.
I mean, I do the same call that's got me feeling nicely.
Like, oh, man, it gets me fired up, man.
Like, you know, really good radio show.
You know, really handsome, in-shaped guy.
Hoosh!
You?
I, shorter the man.
Fatter than me and your home cooking soup and buns.
And then you let your beautiful wife go to the Taylor Swift concert
and you're staying at home eating your buns.
It doesn't have me feeling nice.
I got to get a year to go with some cough.
Happy birthday, man. We love you.
This Pulse News Update is brought you by Remax, Canada's leading real estate organization.
Hello, once again, Team Aubur, with you.
this past sports update on an always hectic Friday night on the sporting scene.
A whole whack of games in the NHL as well as a few in the W-HL.
The Weekings were...
Oh, man.
Okay.
Section A.
Got a few more chapters.
You got a few more chapters.
You got up later.
Yeah, soup and buns.
You shouldn't need fat.
That doesn't have me feeling nice.
Doesn't me feeling nice.
Soup and buns.
Okay.
So three assists for Weger?
No.
No?
Okay, good.
Yeah, no.
No.
Oh, for fuck, six.
How did you like our finished correspondent?
How the hell did you manage that?
Trade secrets.
I guess.
He was, uh, wasn't sure if you remembered you or not,
but we, we told him that you,
you were always fascinated by his athletic style of playing next.
Yeah, his, uh, what's, it's not lateral?
What, what is it when you do like his, uh, he's spinning.
Sipterfugel motion, but takes what it would be.
Yeah.
Um, uh, big brain.
Yeah, deeper.
Yeah, it's, uh, it's really great.
Feels really good for, uh, yeah.
Well, thank you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's not one you...
Not to, uh, very late.
What's up with the shirts?
What's happening?
What do you do?
What's up with the shirts?
It's your birthday.
Ooh.
Wow.
That's pretty good.
Yeah, that's pretty, uh, that's pretty good.
Cameo, hey?
Oh, no. John and I, we...
Yeah, this ulcers are like a way bad.
Look at some tape here.
Yeah, I've been hearing some things you've been,
I don't get your signal too well.
You're up there in Gallagher.
Canada with the sports team up there.
You feel a nice.
Well, thank you, boys.
That's, uh, it's nice.
Thought maybe we could just slide it under the door.
Wow, we know how you would.
You love to celebrate it.
We want to honor us on our special days.
And we thought it would be, you know, the golden rule.
You treat others.
So you would like to be treated.
Right.
Yeah.
So you found us to reach out to carry around.
We did, didn't this, something similar happened about
a decade ago, didn't it?
Yeah, yeah.
It wasn't as the video,
the visuals weren't as good.
Yeah.
I think we had some Bob Hartley.
Did Bob call in the one morning?
Boom is a big part of this team.
Yeah, that's right.
Happy birthday, boom.
Boomer, you know, like,
I get you doing the mounteck climber.
Yeah.
So, you know, it's,
Gruden's not feeling nicey.
You're trying to fly under the radar.
Jack's team got absolutely pulverized
in the snow.
I thought we'd be in better spirits today.
I really didn't know.
What a day.
What a day.
Well,
thank you,
men.
Appreciate that.
What do we want to do?
Do we want to talk about the game?
Or I'd say we've got to chapter one,
two, and three.
You've been through chapter one.
Well,
let's talk about the flames.
It's enough of,
and then we're going to drop in.
There's lots to go out for football today.
And, yeah, we'll do some,
we'll do some,
stuff here. Little opening statements
for McLeod Law. What do you figure?
Yeah. Yeah, all right.
Peter Klein of McLeod Law, he is
your personal injury guy, but did
you also know that he's the go-to guy
of...
Be a good tech guy.
Disability insurance company, if they're
refusing to pay you those insurance benefits, you contact
Peter. He'll get you the disability benefits that you
paid for and you deserve. Get you that piece of mind
back. Just one of the many
services that you can
find with McLeod Law. They're the very
best of the best and it's not a
they may have a 1-800 number
but when you call them it's not the
Arab stuff. Would you like to press as please
phone? You're in Europe
press 1. I'm a hall value in a
dollar. How did it go for you yesterday?
You phoned them in you.
Yeah, we guess. Let's see it don't we?
Yeah. Okay, very that down. We'll put
a pin in that. We'll get to that.
Now you were at the game last
later? Did you? I check my kid.
He absolutely assaulted a malt and
just, you may as well have jumped in a
trough. Like, it was quite something.
It was strewn about him.
Yeah, he had one rule not to spill it.
The second rule was
not to spill it. Right.
Oh, talk about fight club. It didn't work.
Yeah, didn't work. Okay. Well, you know,
I just smiled. I mean, yeah, that's,
yeah. That's how you're always, do what?
Just spilling it.
I really. Buddy, flat. Keep it flat.
And then he's like, okay, are we done here? It's half full and it's
mostly melted. puts it under his seat, promptly
kicks it up.
Okay.
I think how to move C.
I'm in a puddle.
Well, you know, again,
I just look forward to hearing these stories.
These feel good to me.
When I hear this stuff, it warms my heart.
What did he think of the first period?
Man, he was cheering for the flames.
He was quite happy.
Yeah.
He had the flames attack in for the first.
So he got to see 25 shots on Chester.
Unbelievable, right?
We keep waiting for,
I don't know, maybe we
I feel like we
come, because we do it every day and we talk about
you know, Wolf's good and the team's kind of playing
like a team and they're not scoring a lot
for sure in the power play, whatever.
But if you can, you know, things happen,
we keep waiting for the wheels to fall off.
Yeah. Yeah. And if any, it's weird because
Rhett, you were kind of the first one.
I don't think, what do you wait, what are you waiting on wheels
to fall off? I don't think that's what we're looking at.
I think we're looking at a team that's kind of come together.
They're playing the same way. They're getting great goal to
for sure. And there's going to be some nights where they play well and don't win, but
this isn't a team, this isn't smoke and mirrors. There's a recipe and a method to what
they're doing. And I threw it to you yesterday. This isn't, look, but we said, kind of in terms
of if down the road, if you make a change, or if you look for a trade or a type of player to
come in, is there kind of almost now a type of player that fits a mold? Is there a style that this
team plays that when you look, that guy is a flame, that guy is not a flame? That
That guy fits in.
That guy doesn't fit fit in.
Then McKenzie Weger, post game, kind of alluded to some of that.
Weeks.
Into the societal dome now, it's hard to play against our group.
You know, we got fours tracking and forechecking hard and deer in your face and goalies
are kicking.
We have an identity and I love to see it.
They have an identity.
Well, it was three weeks ago, too, because I think they played Vegas Monday, Utah Wednesday.
I might be wrong.
And it was like, okay.
Like the vets at some point are going to realize the same happening.
You know, the shoes falling off here for the goaltenders.
They each had their worst start of the season.
And it reminds you, we'd come in every day and, you know, just have to react to the latest thing you saw that, you know,
you're going to be over the mark when they play well and under the mark when they play poorly.
Since then, this has been a very good hockey team.
And we always knew that they were well coached and were learning.
They're getting really good goaltending.
And they've been a group that, you know, I think the coaches staffs given them
great structure and that that's kind of the idea
we're talking about. It's work ethic, it's structure,
and they want the dome to be a tough goal to play.
Yeah, no, it's a huge.
Goaltending, you're not where you are.
500% are getting the gold tending, which allows you to play
the way you need to. They scored three last night,
right? Like, if Dustin Wolf lets one more in,
what are we talking about? Yeah, I know.
And that's, and that's been the story for each of the last three and that
work, and that's what I mean. It's not like last night was a,
like they played very well, but it's not like floodgates.
They only scored three.
I thought Shastirka might have been the best guy on the planet last night.
Those three shots that beat him were absolutely all insane.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, the hand pass thing, if the Sharon Gowicz goal didn't count, it was going to be a shame
because it was a hell of a great pass and a hell of a shot.
And we could talk about that.
But points in seven of eight, three straight.
And, yeah, I was trying to remember, wasn't it a backland play either last year or two years ago
where he kind of, along the glass reached up and it hit his hand and then went in and
around. It was almost kind of a same play.
It thought it was a hand pass.
And he did touch his glant, his
glove, but it just kind of glanced
the top of his fingers, and they called
it off. Yeah, so
what's a deflection on what's a hand pass?
Yeah, what's a hand pass? Now we're into
referees making judgment calls.
I mean, that said, I feel like this should be
if this is the rule, good, this is the way it
should be. It was not a hand pass.
No. And if it can go off your pants or
your toe or whatever, why can't it go off
your glove if you don't grab the thing?
anyway, that's kind of my thought on that.
Well, and they were all over the officials for the next 20, 25 minutes of the Rangers.
They were distracted and even at TV timeouts or giving it to them.
The ref would come over to the bench, but like one more, one more.
And I'm sending you, and finally they did get the, all right, you jerks aren't shutting up.
Go sit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's points of seven of eight, Wolf 2,33, 926.
Oh, got a win against, and we said yesterday, you get a win against the Rangers.
and this whole, oh, he only plays against soft opponents,
that's out the window.
Totally.
Power play looked like they knew what they were doing last night.
Finally.
They talked about it on the TV broadcast.
This looks a lot different than what we've been seeing.
I don't know if there's been changes or if it's just a little bit more crisp
or maybe the Rangers are playing softer.
I don't know what it necessarily was.
But yeah, the PP was good.
And you had two guys that we brought up yesterday on the show,
Zeri and Sharon Govich.
It had been nothing in what, six for Zeri.
He gets one, nothing in five.
And the droughts, you know, one in 16 or whatever it was for Conor Zeri.
Both of those guys.
Great for them individually, but also for the team.
If they want to start chipping in, then all of a sudden maybe two to three goals a night becomes three to four.
And you're in a completely different category all this.
And Zari looked good at center.
That's the first time I was like, okay, this is like you want to give them time.
You don't want to overreact to small samples.
But it's been, what, a week?
His first period was awesome.
Awesome.
And the goal of score is preposterous.
You give him that a hundred times.
I don't know that he can do it again.
He can get close, but it's a mail slot he put that in.
While he was going around the defenseman who's leaning on him,
and he's just trying to protect the, like, it's incredible.
It's an amazing shot.
He is trying to make it.
Yeah, he did exactly what he was trying to do.
And I think that's, you know, when we were wondering, where's Zeri at?
Here's this guy that's in the A and he's okay, but sort of lost his status as a top.
prospect.
I remember seeing one game in the playoffs of the Wranglers where he literally walked
the deal.
I'm like,
where are these hands?
Who is?
That's Zeri?
Oh,
I didn't know what he had that.
And he was like attacks with speed.
He's fearless in traffic.
Like right out of guy.
Hands.
Fearless and creative.
Yeah.
Willing to try stuff.
And he's going to, here's the thing.
He's going to get burned.
There's going to be a player two that are going to, that one at the blue line where he kind
goes around the guy and sends it across.
It's like, well, that's a risky play.
You pulled it off.
but when you when you do enough of these things that work you'll live with the the mistakes that
maybe crop up and yeah his first period he put whatever was off the post and just missed high and he
was setting up guys if yeah if if you want to do that at center even better and the two shots that
beat wolf whatever it was two and 16 both kind of through a screen that's how teams are going to beat
them as we move forward he goes in you fair any great if he plays like this that's that's that's
to be the book and
I mean, so be it.
He's been great.
Six to eight or five, four.
You put traffic and take away at goalies eyes.
You got a better chance to score.
I haven't seen any goals where I'm like, he's too small.
Like, we're talking how many games now?
Like, 12, 13.
I'm not concerned about a size.
8-2 and 1 improves on his win-loss record last night,
as mentioned with the 2.33 and a 926.

Yeah, dude, okay. How are you guys? We're great.
Somebody's birthday, Dregs.
Oh, no.
Some shirts.
That's a big guess.
I guess I didn't get one. That's too bad.
Nah, well, shipping.
Yeah, I know, just the strike the poster.
That's, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we'll get one out to you, I suppose.
Happy birthday.
Thank you, sir. Thank you.
Big plans.
You would appreciate it. They did a.
montage. They had some
pulse TV
Prairie Pulps Sports updates
They're sitting in the
newsroom doing an update or whatever it was. Those were always good, right?
You remember they?
Jesus, buddy. Oh, I do. I do. I remember passing you
in the hall many, many times.
The old CKX.
He was a bit of a chaper, a bit of a ladies fan back then.
The old honey dropper.
Yeah, that's,
that's what they say about me for sure
we got a lot of people that have said video messages
so we'll do the hit and at the end before you leave
we'll watch some people have some celebrity wishes
so let's do the hockey and then we'll get to the fun stuff
sounds good uh the flames
here's the thing they beat the islanders they beat montreal
they've played some of these
and I don't know where you look at the flames
they're in a playoff spot
somewhat comfortably right now so if you look at
you look at the ball, they've beaten some of those teams.
This was going to be the litmus test, the measuring stick,
whatever you want to call it for not only the team,
but also Dustin Wolf, who has been very good.
And shots were 49-29.
They win three to two in regulation.
Wolf was very good.
Shastika was great, but Wolf also held them in.
A three-two home ice win over the reigning president's trophy winners.
Yeah.
We're kind of dip our toes in.
Some fans are all in.
We kind of do the, are you in?
I don't know.
Are you in?
I don't know if it's points or gap between where you are and the playoff line or the calendar,
American Thanksgiving.
But we're kind of well into it now.
That was game 20 last night for the flames.
Yeah, I mean, and that's why there's a reason to believe, right?
I mean, you're a quarter way through the NHL regular season.
And this is what you're seeing from the Calgary Flames in all areas.
It's not like one area in particular is bolstering the team and carrying the team
dragging the team through tough games.
I think they've got a little bit of everything.
And one part of their game, one area of their game sags a little bit,
there seems to be another part of the game that rises to the occasion.
So again, we always qualify by saying it's a long year.
Yeah, of course it is.
But you know what?
It's a long year for 32 teams, not just the teams that we thought weren't going to be as good.
And Calgary would have been in that category.
But, you know, I'm an,
to share a little bit of a history lesson here.
And I'm not trying to name drop.
But I remember back in the day, my kid was playing hockey with the Whitby Wildcats.
We were invited, Cole Profetti was on that team.
We were invited to go to Los Angeles to play the junior L.A. Kings, you know, friendly,
just a weekend.
Papperson's son was on that team.
Nelson Emerson, I mean, Craig Johnson, it was just a collection, right?
It was an NHL players.
It's where Rob Blake, his son, played on that team.
I mean, all of the old LA Kings had sons.
They made up the junior kings and they played hockey.
Dustin Wolf was a goaltender.
And I remember watching this kid,
and I want to say they were maybe 13, 14 at the time.
And I'm standing at the glass with Pat Brousan,
and I'm asking about the goalie,
and he's like, Dregg's, I'll try and do my friend,
I said, Greg, let me tell you,
I think he's going to be a really good NHL player.
And I was like,
really like how can we see that like i mean you know especially in a goal tentative but that's always
stuck with me and you know i've watched him elevate his play at every level you know he was so done
or seemed to be with the american league and now yeah there's a question mark aside the gold
tend and going into the season because jacob marksstrom isn't there not because what they had wasn't
capable and i think now pointing games in i don't mean to jinx these guys but pointing games in
I think we're seeing enough that goaltending is just a positive part of the equation in Calgary
and no longer should be considered a big question mark.
At least that's my advantage point.
I would see it as their greatest strength, drags.
I know there's lots to like here, but they went a stretch of three home games or they scored
four goals that weren't into an empty-out goal.
They won all three.
That's only when you get elite goaltending, and that's what Wolf's given them for three weeks.
Yeah.
Man, I mean, you look around the National Hockey League and not to derail,
but just to support what you just said there.
You know, the Ottawa senators
played the Vegas Golden Knights last night.
Going into that game,
the pressure was starting to build on Lena Solmer.
I mean, you're talking about proven NHL starter,
decorated starter,
a very self-critical man.
And the team was doing wherever they could
to bolster his confidence.
He's fine. He's going to get back to his standard,
back to his form.
And yet, you know, not that it was on him entirely.
but that's an example of a team that thought,
okay, let's trade for this guy, which they did at the draft.
Let's lock him up, which they did recently.
Thankfully, our goaltending issue is behind us.
Well, is it?
20 games in, I'm not so sure it is.
They're counting on him rebounding,
but goaltending generally across the league,
unless you've got the top of the class
and few teams have, is always going to be there.
But it can also be a positive, like we're seeing with the flames.
and there's going to be, like you say, every team goes through it.
But they've stashed away some points here.
You can now absorb a bad week to 10 days after you've had points in seven of
eight and have won three straight and that sort of thing.
So we played a clip from McKenzie Weeger.
We've talked a little bit about it.
The one thing that this team has not had,
and I think some teams struggle with it,
there hasn't really been an identity.
When you prepare for the flames or you come into Calgary,
what is it?
Well, we don't really know, are they?
Whatever.
ever. But he had said last night, we come at you in waves. We are going to forecheck
you. We're going to cause turnovers. We have an identity. And that's a cliche word. And it's
a thing that we use. But when it comes out of the locker room and we talked about, I think that
it's legit. They don't score a ton, but they're a bugger to play against most nights.
Yeah. And look, if that truly becomes the identity and if it is the identity and that's the
resolve and will believe inside that room, then that's a hell of a lot of confidence.
And I'm not here to question it even a little bit.
But as you're describing that, boomer,
I'm thinking of another team.
And I'm thinking of, you know, the Carolina Hurricanes
and how Rod Brindamar absolutely demands that.
You know, you can see the talent shift between lines one and four and Carolina,
but they play the same way.
I mean, it's non-negotiable.
That's how you play.
You forecheck hard.
You attack with speed.
You force turnovers.
And make sure you're sound defensively.
The goal tend is good enough to get you through.
when you win hockey games.
And Carolina has done an excellent job superior to what I thought they were going to be this year.
So if Calgary is borrowing that identity, but the players believe it and they think that they're executing that,
that's a tough one to top.
It is because you look around the league and there's so many teams that have more talent,
obviously, than the Gowardin finds, obviously.
But the coaches are pulling out their hair because they can't get those guys to believe in what
it takes to win playing the way that you
described. So if they've got that, man,
that's a key ingredient. Red,
have you ever played on a team that maybe didn't have a lot
of skill but worked hard
and really rode hot goaltending?
Actually, let me ask you, have you ever played on a team
where that wasn't the makeup where you
it wasn't just really good goaltending
and hard work and maybe a little bit of skill?
Kiprasoff and the flames,
Hasch and the Sabres, back to the
that's all you've done, right?
Yeah, you have, that's
100% what we had. And the goal,
will tend to you can't.
You just can't overlook it.
And no one has said you should overlook it.
No, I mean, I just think the interesting thing, anyway, in my head, I'm thinking about
Nashville, and they went and added all this talent and maybe lost some of the chemistry.
And I'm not saying that Marsha So and Stamco's are an issue for the room, but, and maybe
the roster doesn't, isn't as good as maybe we thought.
Yeah.
But the flames are overcoming that and playing.
up to a level, not playing down.
Sure. And no,
they're not getting goal-tending in Nashville right now.
They're not. And exactly what you said,
Rhett, I think that's what's keeping Barry Trots up at light.
You know, I mean, you were the guy that said this first,
that you thought that they went too hard too soon,
and that's a few weeks ago.
And nothing really has improved.
There have been blitz,
but they haven't consistently improved even a little bit.
So I'm sure Barry,
and he's sitting there looking at what his team isn't doing.
But now he's looking around the conference
and he's seeing a team like Calgary,
who he probably didn't have on his bingo card
as being 10th overall in the National Ocala League
at the quartermark and going, okay, look at,
I'm comparing rosters and lineups here again.
Is that coach that much better than the guy I got on mine bench?
Well, no, he's not.
So what's missing here?
When you bring in pieces like they brought in,
and I'm looking at the two forwards,
So I'm looking at Brady Shea.
I'm not looking at Brady Shee.
I'm looking at Stamco's in Marceau.
And, you know, Stabstapcoast was just so used to playing the game the way he wanted to play the game.
And John Cooper was fine with it, right?
I mean, stammer at his role.
But Cooper would lean on the Sorrellys and the guys that he knew he could trust in certain situations.
But Stamcoast was there to do one thing.
And that was to produce offense.
And, you know, now they're kind of looking.
at each other around that Nashville organization going, all right, well, somebody's got
to have to fix it.
I haven't heard a whole lot of finger pointing from within the dressing room.
I really haven't.
But what I can tell you is Nashville is right at a place where something's going to break here
in the next five games, maybe, five games.
And what is that?
I don't, you know, having Jim Montgomery twisted out there a little bit, you know, that makes
the storylines in Detroit.
in Nashville of coach change more sexy, right?
Because now you've got a, when you ask the question,
okay, well, who's better out there?
Well, Jim Montgomery is not bad.
He's not.
He has his record.
Yeah, his record in Boston was bananas,
and he gets fired.
So I can appreciate why there'd be some scrutiny
on Andrew Burnett in Nashville,
but I'm not convinced that that's the card
that Trots is going to play,
but something's going to give there in the next four or five games.
Shut out to their last three games.
two nothing here, three nothing in Seattle,
they're last game. No, tough time scoring three goals or more.
Setters are an issue.
Big time issues at sign. And it's not got a lot to do with it,
but Ascarov, I saw played his first game. He didn't win,
but a lot, what, 2-1, 29 or 31 or whatever it was?
So that'll be an interesting watch too as they go forward.
You mentioned Montgomery.
What have you heard? Because it seemed like it got to the point it was inevitable.
They gave up, what, two shorthanded goals of the one game,
and he had pulled all the, flipped all the switches,
that he seemed seemingly could have.
What else are you hearing?
Not looking to throw dirt on a guy, but
you know, it's a high profile firing.
I just wonder behind the scenes what the sentiment was.
So I can't remember the last time a general manager came out,
spoke to the media, and just exposed the contract discussions
and negotiations that didn't lead to an extension.
I mean, he pointed out, he pointed out.
extensions to Montgomery and he just wouldn't take them.
Okay, well, what does that have to do with wins or losses?
You know, nothing.
And the team just isn't good enough for starters.
I would say it was time for a change, though, in the sense that as we could see
time in time again, Jim Montgomery is a coach.
He runs hot.
He runs hot on the bench, so he's not worried about what the cameras are seeing.
And that's fine.
I'm good with that.
He certainly holds his players accountable,
whether you're the captain Brad Marchand
or you're a first year player,
okay, I'm good with that too.
But I think that the balance shifted there
where the young guys just flat out lost confidence, right?
And the older guys like Marchand and Pashternak
and Coil and Zaka,
even through Charlie McAvoy in the mix,
just weren't committed enough to pull the group through, right?
And that's why it was interesting to me.
And look, I got all the time of the world for Brad Marchand.
But what else is he supposed to say?
So he comes out and he, you know, he accepts his role and the responsibility of getting
a real good coach fired, a real good human being, Jim Montgomery fired.
I get it.
But it didn't look like that based on the way that you guys were playing.
So you can say it after the fact, but it almost feels like I think when you're in the
moment and you can see the crosshairs are lined up by management.
but maybe ownership in Boston on your head coach.
Your play is what dictates whether or not he stays or goes,
and their play ultimately led to his dismissal.
How much of that is goaltending in Boston?
Like, you know, same, right?
Some of it.
Some of it.
Yeah.
They just had elite goaltending in Montgomery's whole rain until a month and a half here.
Like you think about, O-Mark won the Veznazna two years ago.
Swayman and O'Mark were sensational Jennings last year,
and all of a sudden you're not 900,
and all, whoa, maybe the Bruins aren't the way.
They're not worse on paper this year.
No, and I don't know whether or not, you know, his,
his negotiation was a distraction.
The fact that he missed time,
I think Monty, when he finally kind of cracked on that line at questioning,
was right.
Okay, there's a statute of limitations on that.
Like, he's been in NHL games enough that he's up to speed,
stop it with this stuff already.
I don't know.
like Corpusallo's been okay for them.
I don't know how much you guys watched him in Ottawa last year, man.
Like that was just a knee jerk.
Let's let we'll take them because that's part of the deal.
But let's let's, you know, they're going to have to figure that out.
And, you know, they didn't expect that that would be an issue based on the way that Jeremy
Swayman played last year.
So I would agree.
And I all further to that, right, and maybe it's exposing the goaltending in Boston.
From McAvoy through their.
defensive core. I don't think they've been good enough either.
I think they've been for us. I think that, you know,
Maccabody is a shell of what he is, not what he once was.
We know what he is. He's a top defenseman in the National High League,
but he's not playing that way. So on top of that, you've got, again, forwards all over the
place. And it will be interesting with Sacco now taking over.
Ray Ferrar always says this, like says this, do you become a better coach
because you move three feet up the bench as an assistant to an NHL.
No, but I think what SACO will provide,
and I didn't watch all of last night's game, by the way,
is just a little settling.
When loser draw on Montgomery was one of the most active coaches there is, period, in the sport.
I mean, it could be up by three goals, and he's scrambling lines,
and he's doing this and doing that.
And I guess when you're winning, that works when you're losing,
pisses the players off because they can't develop any sort of chemistry with one another.
So that might be an earmark of what we see in Joe Sacko.
They won last night.
So we'll see if they can pull it out of the ditch.
Yeah.
And look,
Lindholm scored last night was the only goal at one nothing.
Huge relief.
He looks to the rafters.
And it's going to be tough to live up to that contract.
The cap rising will help.
But, I mean,
I'm seeing him on a team Sweden roster as the third line right winger.
He's your number one center now.
That's not an area of strength anymore.
You used to go cratchy Bergeron down the middle as he'd gone.
And the other thing is, the less we saw Zedorov, the more we liked him here over his tenure.
Now, there was spells where he looked great, but when he and Good Branson were just the third pair,
and they had smaller minutes, God, were they tough to play against?
Anytime he tried to elevate him, that sort of was like you could hear the circus music start playing.
You know what?
If you get those guys trade deadline, which Vancouver experienced last year with Zadorov,
and you lean on them for the rest of the regular season and the playoffs?
Perfect. That's the exact scenario because both those guys you just talked about,
De Branson and Zadora, that's exactly what they're built for. A six-year contract and big money.
Now all the guys going in there, as you guys saw firsthand, thinking, well, worst case, it would be a second pairing.
Because that's what I am. I'm a two or a three. I'm not a five or a six or a seven. No, you're a five or a six or a seven on a six-year term.
That's what you are.
The problem is Don Sweety paid big bucks, likewise for Linholm,
and didn't cover the needs, didn't cover the areas that they needed most.
And creativity up the middle of the ice for me, that's their biggest issue.
That's right up there.
You mentioned Vancouver about a year ago right now.
We were getting ready for Rick Tocke to be coach of the year.
They were a great story.
She was on fire.
Right.
And now it's no Besser, no J.T. Miller,
no Thatcher Demko
and they're having
a heck of a time. Obviously the Miller
stuff is unfortunate
and all of that but it
almost couldn't have gone worse for the
Canucks to start after an unbelievable
and then a nice playoff run
but it went away from round three or whatever it was.
Yeah, I mean nasty for sure.
I do think that got coaching staff
though is well prepared for it.
And you know one thing we know
about Rick talking by extension
Adam Fitt and go down the list is
is you know, you got to earn your minutes.
It doesn't matter how many times last year, especially with J.K. Miller, as they call the driver,
the energy guy, the head of the snake, the guy who drives you in every single fight.
That's what he is.
So whatever physical ailment he has that was not allowing him to be that guy,
then emotionally started to take a toll because he knew he wasn't playing, are playing well enough.
The team was struggling.
He's frustrated.
There was a lot of pressure on J.T. Miller.
And so the takeaway for me with him going on the leave of absence,
supported entirely by Talket and the organization is he's a human being, right?
He's a human being.
So if he goes away and he heals up physically and he recharges mentally and he comes back
and he's the player that he was, as long as Elias Pedersen can continue to do what he's been doing,
which is generating some offense, then I think we're going to see more of the Vancouver
conducts that we saw last year.
But then that also includes Thatcher Demko.
Like I, you know, I'm getting weary of asking about Thatcher Gemma.
I know.
Because every week I ask and every week I get the same feedback now, you know, he's a full participant in practice.
He's trending well.
He looks great.
We just need him to get a few more reps.
Well, all right.
I mean, like a few more is what, 30?
And what are they doing when he's back drags?
Is he got the kit gloves on?
Is he going to be you can't start him back to back games?
Like what do you go alternate?
Like, what do we do?
It feels that way.
And I mean, he's got that bizarre injury.
I don't even know how to pronounce it.
But it's a weird one, right?
So I think it's being super cautious and careful, which I can appreciate.
So again, if being cautious pays off,
it's going to feel like a mega trade when Patrick Emco comes back into the mix.
Because, you know, just automatically,
it's like having the tough guy,
even though the game isn't played that way anymore.
But guys just play with a little bit more pop.
When you got a guy sitting at the end of the bench,
you know is going to fail you out.
And that applies to elite level goaltending,
which Demko certainly qualifies for.
Just looking here, Colorado was won three of four.
They had that rough start, four of five.
So there's, yeah, they're swinging.
Now, Natchewski is back.
Nothing to speak of as far as points in three games.
I wondered what that integration back into the locker room was going to be like.
But I don't know.
It's not that it was Swayman, right?
Swamen, it was more of a, I'm waiting to get paid.
This is a little bit different.
But when you come back in, when you've missed the start for whatever reason and expectations for you are high to perform and then you don't.
I always wonder, we saw what happened in Boston because Swainman has not been good for Nachushkin.
May want to start getting some points here soon, I would.
Yeah, I would think so.
I mean, for his own sake, and obviously for the betterment of the Colorado Avalanche,
you know, his issues aside, which have been well documented, I like the way he plays the game.
game. And when he's on it, he is on it. And he just gives them that extra layer of threat, right?
And so it's not just about Randon and McCar and McKinnon. Getting Jonathan Graham back is a big help, too.
You know, I mean, that guy's career was kind of all over the road. And, you know, he lands in Colorado
and seems to be a good fit with his old buddy, Nate McKinnon. So we'll see if he can stay healthy.
I still, like everybody else, want to question their goaltending. Yet we're
told that there's, unless they have to, they're not really willing or wanting to, to address it.
They know, they think they're okay there.
And then they've got all the other pieces out there like Landiscau.
Is he coming back?
Isn't he coming back?
Every day there's a story out of Colorado, including, and I love this one.
And I've searched through the games and I can't find it.
But there's that, there's that never-ending story of Nate McKinnon, just losing.
in it every once in a while.
And there's rumor of that happening recently with his head coach again, which isn't unusual
for Nate, right?
Like he goes hot.
If he doesn't like what the coach is saying, he's not afraid to park back.
But I couldn't find anything to establish the rumor.
So we'll see.
They've got lots of firepower there, though.
That we know.
Well, it's interesting.
They're okay with their goaltending.
I guess they're okay with 886 and 874 or whatever it is.
The one with Kepker, right?
That's the thing.
They think they can be better than their goaltending.
And to be fair,
like they got Lekinen back,
they got Joanne back,
they're going to get Ross Colton back.
They did get Taves back.
Like, it was a,
players,
good players,
all were showing to playing wing when the goals were going in.
Like,
it wasn't a good team in front of these guys who aren't great,
but they've proven you don't need great goaltending,
if they're right.
Yeah,
and again,
based on that star status,
how can you count,
you can't,
and I'm not suggesting anybody is counting Colorado out at any point.
They get on a,
heater at some point here, particularly in the second half.
You've got to look at Colorado, no different than you look at Vegas, you look at Dallas,
maybe, maybe Winnipeg and Edmonton and some of the other top clubs, including Calgary.
When do you worry about Edmonton, real quick?
Because it's awful on home ice.
They're not getting saves.
It's blue lines of mess.
And all these old guys that added forward have been outperformed by the young guys they let go,
like McCow, like Holloway, like Cable.
I was cold this morning by somebody deep.
and not a media person, somebody organizational,
that it's dysfunctional from top to bottom there.
That's a lot.
That's saying a lot.
And so now you start to unravel that, okay?
And what does that mean?
Well, for me, it's pretty obvious where you start.
And that's on defense, right?
That's on defense.
And I haven't been the biggest Cody C.C.
fan over the span of his career.
but I think if Stan Boland had a do-over,
we can appreciate the Broberg thing
because he ended up getting almost triple
what the Oilers were prepared to pay him in Edmonton.
He gets through the offer sheet in St. Louis.
But you didn't have to trade Cody Sees.
He didn't have to not kept.
Yeah, they looked like they were going to match.
They traded Cici to open that money up, you thought,
but they didn't.
They said it all right.
Yeah, so that was, if you knew that you weren't going to match,
I saw that offer sheet slapped them upside the head minutes before it
was signed. I mean, you know, I mean, just managers doing what they, there would have been some
form of communication, either through the agents involved, all of that. So you, you know,
you, you, you, you, you replaced three defense, uh, they had in game seven with three guys
that, with all due respect, just, just aren't there. You know, the pop movement isn't there.
Go down the list. And now you got 97 and 29 pissed off the world, but not in a good way,
not in a way where they want to throw the team on their back and roll.
I mean, they're going to compete because that's what those two guys do,
but they're probably sitting there asking questions.
Like, what are we doing here?
What direction are we going in here?
Is there enough?
I don't understand the whole process up there
because it seems like everyone outside of the cultural capital
could see what they needed.
D.
D and you.
And they go completely opposite.
They go all.
older and forwards.
They did the deadline too.
They went Henrique.
They didn't add another team.
And the Jeff Skinner, I was reading,
it's been a disaster too.
Of course, they bought a mouth.
You can't play defense.
Scoring goals a problem for the others?
It's deep and you can't give us too much.
But like, who's
driving this bus?
Okay.
And here's a spray degree.
And I'll let you feed off this.
The president of the organization
used to be Connor's agent.
A lot of the guys
they've brought into plug holes have been his former clients,
Wasserman clients. You're talking about most of those blue liners are trying,
capping it and they just claimed on waivers like a lot.
And this president is trying to do the job at Toronto, not in Edmonton.
You say dysfunction. I'm looking right there.
Yeah. Well, I, again,
just kind of formulating all the tidbits that are funneling my way,
it feels like there may be too many cooks in the kitchen here from a management perspective, right?
So now you add an experienced decorated guy in Stan Bowman.
Does Stan have the autonomy of, yeah, I mean, everybody there is going to say, of course he does.
Of course he does.
But that doesn't mean that there is an influence and maybe too much input coming from other areas.
You know, I have nothing but the utmost respect for Paul Coffey, Hall of Fame defensemen, all that.
Like hockey knowledge out the wazoo.
I get that.
But I know he's got, you know, a decent relationship of the ownership.
So what are the tentacles of all of that, right?
You know, is he staying in the lane and focusing on what his area of expertise is,
and that's defense, what his opinion is on that?
Is he poking around on the power play?
Is he poking around on what he wants to see up front, generally five on five and all that?
And if any of that is true, then I think that's where you get to the point of dysfunction, right?
And it's been an active owner, right?
Sinaita.
It's unusual.
That's not unusual.
And that's fine.
That's just right.
And then you've got Jackson and coffee that have been working together for a while.
Now you're bringing an experience gym was one cups, not perfect, thoroughly.
But it kind of feels like there's puppet strings here.
A little bit.
That's, you know, again, they have the capability of flipping the switch.
And again, real enough, three, five straight wins, whatever.
But in the moment is we're having this coperation.
It's not great.
It's not great.
And the problem that the players, I'm sure, have is they're looking over their shoulder for reinforcements coming.
No, it's not there.
Boy, and it's tough when we, I'm trying to remember who was it in the NFL called his team soft or we're playing soft.
Oh, in New England.
Their criticism isn't necessarily goaltending or they're getting outworked.
The compete is missing when that, it's like, that's a shot across the bow.
So it could be on the coaches or whatever.
There's enough talent in that locker room.
You guys can control how hard your work or the amount of try that you put in.
And they just hasn't been there, I guess.
And they're not like, look, I mean, Baldwin would say that it's not defense.
It's their top end guys.
And it's not just McGavin and Dry Sidel.
It's Hyman, it's Nugent Hopkins, go down the list,
have them performed on a consistent enough basis.
And that's why, you know, the team is struggling and that's putting more pressure on the defense
and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
But look, you know, if it doesn't turn around in the very near future,
guess what we're talking about?
No different than we did last year, you know,
when Edmonton was in the juice, even early in the Stanley Cup final,
we're looking at Leandroisle going into the final year
and wondering, okay, where is he playing here?
And that stuff is going to start in the near future with the Calcut.
Of course it is, right?
Of course it is.
So there's all sorts of points of pressure at Edmonton.
bad year to have a bad year if your oilers management.
This is your window to extend Connor.
Yeah, I would agree. Well,
it's my birthday, but what a gift you've given
Ryan Pinder. What a gift you've given Pender.
Disfunction in Edmonton, you say?
I'll think he's not.
You've made his weekends.
Yeah, we're trying to make Wilmer's weekend.
So stay with us. We'll watch some
see. That's okay.
You missed Gruden,
Kron, Kari Romo, and Craig Conner.
More to fall.
Hey, Doer.
Merritt a birthday coming up.
They got me thinking,
when do you what you think of you?
And it's always the same time.
It's in the morning.
After I got my coffee and breakfast,
and I'm staying down.
I'm taking a boo.
This is where I worship.
Happy birthday.
Hopefully, at 50,
you can dodge
type 2 diabetes
and services.
Happy 50th birthday.
Dean fucking Mulpern.
50 years old.
Come a long way from old CKX and Brandon.
I'll tell you what,
you look way better for your 50th and you did for your 40th.
Having to get up at fucking two in the morning all the time with sports net.
Just grumpy as fuck.
God, now you're sleeping like a ramboy.
regular human and you look great.
Happy 50th, you old fuck.
Hey, Boomer. I just wanted to wish you a happy 50th birthday.
We're up here in the press box. We used to watch our games.
We need to critique me every morning.
But you know what? We're going to be friends.
You guys do a great job. I hope it shows wanting a while.
I'll talk to you guys too. Enjoy your birthday, buddy.
Hey, boom. How are you?
It's a blast of your past.
it's Kelly Kirsch, your former boss.
One of those people that were in radio and aren't anymore.
How are you?
Happy birthday.
You know, it was kind of funny.
I thought, he's 50.
Christ, I thought he was turning 60, but I realized, oh, yeah, you're younger than me.
Maybe you don't look at it, but, you know, God love you.
You know, I got to tell you.
I think what you do is really, really cool.
I think it's funny.
You've always been an entertainer.
You're doing it on radio TV.
You're doing on a podcast.
YouTube, wherever.
It's just funny.
And you should get some sort of humanitarian award
for keeping Boomer
and Warner and Pinder together for this long
and keeping those two crazy guys,
Brett and Ryan,
like on in our short lease.
We just cranked those guys in.
It's so awesome.
I'm here at the graveyard, boom.
You can see like there's...
It's symbolism.
Because, you know,
when he turns out,
trust me, I know, you're closer to going here than you are to anything else. So maybe it's
time to prepare yourself for that. But you're more than halfway dead, to be honest with you.
But I hope you have a great day. Don't think about that right now. Do whatever you want. Keep doing
what you're doing. Just maybe don't mention the whole airplane crashing thing. I got a lot of
shit for that. But you're great. We love you. Keep doing what you're doing.
Happy birthday, buddy.
The producer doesn't know what this is.
We're out of time.
Sorry, yeah, look at the time.
Okay, just real quick as we wrap here.
I did not see that coming from Regier.
His delivery was next level.
That was super.
Cami, yeah, I get that.
I mean, that's what my Commodore is all about.
And there's no way you'll ever convince Matt Stage
and just say anything negative.
Yeah, that's right.
No.
He couldn't spit out the F word of his life depends on.
Just such a nice guy.
Yeah.
Appreciate you, Dregs.
Happy with you.
Big boy.
Yeah, thanks, pal.
Appreciate you.
There he is.
Darren Rager on the insider hotline
and presentation of Crystal Waters plumbing and heating.
Crystal Waters had nothing to do with that last little thing there with all the F bombs and stuff.
No, no.
No, no.
413-219, 4100.
Check them out at crystal clear, Calgary.com.
Wow.
The rocket.
Her vagina rocket
searches out a cemetery to do his hit.
I like that.
Don't think about you, right?
Yeah.
He's worried.
Yeah.
And you heard what he said there.
Yeah, I got a lot of shit for that.
Yeah.
Right for the time, it's like, I'm the one that's in trouble.
You got me.
They were yelling.
I got a lot of shit over this.
Oh, well, sorry.
You know, I'm a rider's fan.
I'm biased and I don't care.
They're mad at me.
Oh, geez.
Well, thanks, I think.
I guess that's a thanks for that.
Morley Howard dead.
That boy, Reggie.
That was good, Rick.
Yeah.
I'm hoping it was just, yes, next week.
Yeah, we're going to my show.
Because he just would have sat about it.
Like, he wasn't really.
He said he thinks he every day.
That's not an edge.
Chunder every day.
Yeah.
Always is on his mind.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was pretty good.
Pretty good, Reg.
So flames win, three to two.
What are they guys that they're, Minnesota?
Minnie, two o'clock Saturday, then they're on the road for four.
Ottawa, Detroit, Columbus, which will be emotional.
It's a 1 p.m. matinee the day after, Black Friday, I guess it would be,
where there'll be obviously a lot of Johnny conversation,
tears, emotion, all that.
We've been through a few laps of that.
There's a few more left, and then they'll wrap the road trip in Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Wilde came back and beat Edmund.
and last night, five, three, four, two.
You see the doll?
I'll play at the dinner, dinner, geez.
Wow, they're good.
Very good.
Rangers, 12, 5, and 1.
13, 3 and 3 are the wild.
They and the Jets, the only teams that have not suffered four losses or more in regulation.
9, 1, and 2 on the road.
Tiger are the Minnesota wild.
It's not that.
It's not too shabby.
Thanks for your service last night, Wilde.
Yes, well, but.
Yeah, I was a little concerned after that,
after the shipburner went in.
Yeah, the old, uh, that was a Mike Smith special,
170 feet.
Yeah, like, come on, Mark Andre.
He settled in nice.
We appreciate it.
Oh, that's like crazy.
Yeah, he did.
Uh, we'll do the Pinda report.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah, I guess it's good.
Village Honda.
The Honda Ridge line.
Quality vehicle.
The convenience of an all-we-allel
drive pickup with a smooth ride and comfort of a sedan and high marks in terms of collision specs.
Safety.
Safety.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was at a stoplight yesterday with my winter tires on, which is important.
Terrific.
Isn't it?
It's a world.
It's a game changer.
Yeah.
A lot of traffic light went yellow.
It's like, okay, you know, you could do something stupid and try to go through here,
but it's icy.
Traffic stacked up on the other side light.
I'm just going to break, and I think I'm going to be able to stop.
Oh, I am.
Look at this.
These winters are great.
Nice.
Ha, ha.
Love these winter tires.
Bang!
Oh, I'm not laughing.
So you didn't stop?
Oh, no, I did.
Oh, they worked.
The guy in the car behind me did not.
Oh, no.
Have a Honda Ridge line with winter tires.
Two lights from the dealership.
Minutes after the winters were put off.
Sorry for a lot.
I shouldn't rant.
I'm sorry.
And I'm like, take it back.
Okay.
So it's take kids to the dentist, fly up here, get those chains around, hop in, go to back down, pick up the kids from bowling.
You're going to go to get this kid dressed to hockey game for dinner for this guy.
I won't come up.
Yeah.
Let out of like a couple monstrous whales.
And then I just took a deep breath.
Got out of the car.
He's got a deal of that.
Got the camera said, hello, sir.
I'm going to take a picture of your license plate, your insurance and your driver's license.
So that's okay with you.
And then in, yes, it is okay.
Okay.
back of my car less okay
Hi, Villajonda, thanks for answering.
Love you. Great work on the tires.
Do you have anyone that could expect the back end of my truck?
I just got rid of 90 seconds away from your dealership.
Just left.
How far away? I can be there in about two minutes.
We'll have the guy waiting in the bay.
Yeah.
They were very lovely.
They knew they saw the pain on my face.
Yeah.
So is it?
What a level?
It's not their fault.
Yeah.
So did you have to leave it and do something else?
It took 10 minutes.
got in there with a flashlight, looked under.
It was not a major one, and the trailer hitch was helpful because there was a trailer hitch-sized hole on the fellow's hood that ran into me.
So that was a better place to have big impact than others, but there's some upper damage.
But what you're saying is, it's not ideal for the ridgeline.
I mean, it's built for this.
It did very well.
I was concerned when I got hit.
I got back on.
This looks pretty damn good.
But in hindsight, would it have been better just to go through and?
because the guy behind you clearly was prepared to go through.
He shouldn't have been.
Okay.
It was not the right move.
Yeah.
I mean, do you encourage people to burn yellows and reds into traffic?
No, you don't, right?
No, you do not.
D.
Anyway, excellent service, not their fault.
Love you, Village Honda.
But great service, right?
They took great care of you.
Best.
Yeah.
Village Honda, Northwest Automol.
And online at Village Honda.
They present, you know, it's here somewhere.
In the pin, a report.
Big W for the Calgary Flames last night,
as two of the best goalies in the universe battled.
Calgary's Calgary's Calder eligible, Dustin Wolf and Igor Shasturkin.
Through 11 starts this year.
Oh, it's a pike bomb, pike bomb, it's a pike bomb.
No.
Seventh rounder, Dustin Wolfe.
Pipe bomb, pipe bomb.
It's a pipe bomb.
Short version.
8-2 and 1 record, 2-33 goals against in a 9-26 save percentage, one shutout.
You dive in deeper, guys, the penalty kills Cannabin-Horshit.
At even strength, he climbs up the ranks with his safe percentage.
He's been sensational.
Out-duled Igor Shasturkin, kind of a much heavier shot load for Shasturkin, who, well, nearly faced 50 shots last night.
That allowed three perfectly placed sniper's finishes in.
That's it.
There's a hell of the game.
It's a hell of a game.
Yeah.
And a hell of a goalie.
It's a hell of a goalie.
It's been great.
The question is, fellas, you play two o'clock tomorrow.
Saturday, matinee, wild in town.
Is it time to get Dan Vladar in?
I think it's.
It's a day and a half after Wolf played.
Do you go right back to him?
What do you do here, Dean?
I feel the same way, but why?
Why do I mean?
Well, only because you have to at some point know that Vlodar is going to have to play,
and you can't let him
I think you've got to get Vlodar
it's as much about getting Vlodar in
and I don't think that you're going to lose
any of Wolf's momentum by letting him
take a day off.
I agree and I think also it not being a night game helps
it's less than two days away.
It's not a back-to-back but it's also not regular rest.
Now let me ask you this though.
So you've got the wild, you know what they are?
They're high-caliber opponent.
Yes.
Then it's in Ottawa, in Detroit, in Columbus,
in Pittsburgh.
There's a bow back to the end there.
Columbus Pitzer Cines. You're going to see both guys.
Mark can play two of the four if he wants there.
If he wins, I think he will.
If you beat the Wild, you're going to play two of those four games for sure.
Listen, I'm not going to throw away my flames hoodie if Huska decides to go with Wolf.
Yeah, no, it's a good spot to be in if you're on Husky, if we're honest.
Our rookie guy is so good.
We're thinking about starting him for a fourth consecutive
game. That's a good problem. It's a great problem
to have for sure. Yeah. We'll move
here's the standings. Calvary Flames still a point
at a top spot in the Pacific. Vegas got a victory
last night, as did the Flames. So
status quo up top.
What's interesting if you look down below
Colorado Edmonton and Wildcars, but the
Oilers are, that's a mirage. The Oilers
have three games played more than
the Canucks and are only up one point.
We talked about with Dregs. There's a bit
puckering going on up north. Meanwhile,
the abs. There's this function you like hearing that, don't
That's a love...
Great word.
Oh, it's a good.
Speaks of just deep-seated, not good.
Just love it.
What did he say?
Disfunction?
Just not a meaty guy, not a beady guy, but somebody inside the organ is...
Function.
Oh, dear.
What's terrible news?
Shamed.
Connor knew about that.
Wait a sign, dry side of.
Oh, yeah.
Saddie, he should have gone four years to ask for 16.
Gone one.
Hey, you know what?
But here's a thing.
When you're a stark player like that,
you want to trade you probably get one oh it's true you want a hard line stance this thing
I'm sure there'd be some team that willing to take on the contract and give Edmond something
so it's true still options there lay on if you need them uh overall standings flame's still
good in these two it's not just the pacific division it's not bad division their top 10 club
in the NHL that is wild now okay maybe first standards maybe a lot no this is the regular ones
look everything's upside right winnipeg's at the top there would have been a time though
Winnipeg, Minnesota, Carolina, New Jersey.
Yeah, those could have been inverse for sure.
And look, Dallas has got a little points per cent of edge on them.
But point being, no one had them here.
Give them credit.
They've worked their tails off.
There's been a lot of players that you'd have a tough time finding bad games from.
And some of the guys that have been just okay, we saw pick it up last night.
Better game for Cadry.
Really like Zari.
Coronado, nice to see him score again.
Sharon Govich is starting to come around after coming back from injury.
These are all good developments, fellas.
A poor development, one that no one can get behind.
Alex Ovech could miss in time, fellas.
We knew it was going to happen.
Here's what it is.
Oh, we did.
Well, we knew he had something happen to his knee.
We were wrong.
His knee's so tough, it actually broke his leg.
The little fibula.
Lephula.
F fracture.
That's okay, though.
Think how how strong your knee is that you get run into on your knee
and the bone of your leg breaks, nothing in the knee.
Yeah.
Russian machine almost never breaks.
He missed 35 games in his career or something.
Well, here it is because we had the pipe bomb earlier.
Now, Frank's got the details.
Frank Baum on the injury status.
Frank Baum.
It is 20-year career.
He's only missed 35.
Others due to suspension, All-Star, COVID,
four to six weeks.
He's likely to miss more than half that career total
in this one shot alone.
Let's hope this is just a bad luck one-off.
And he's helped.
It's too fun watching this.
These and peas, OV.
Speaking of Frank, he announced his trade targets board yesterday, and there was a Calgary flame.
Checked in at number 11.
That's Marcus Pedersen at the top.
Oh, Rasmus Jirst the Linen, Ivan Provorov.
Those are some of the names of the top.
Dan Vlodar checked in at 11.
No site of under Kuzmanko, but it's early.
It's a shorter list. Frank expands us as we get closer and closer to the trade deadline.
Last night, another rough start for the Oilers.
this goal. They get gifted
courtesy. There's
that ice guy, Dan Craig or whatever. Is he not doing
the rink anymore? This ice is going to
shit in Evanston. Look at this. They're fixed.
They like that every great knows their identity and what
they have to do to be successful as a team.
Squibber. Squibber.
Squibber. It's a total
squibber. It's immediately
shoot it. I agree with Jack.
That would be.
And you're like, how is that possible?
And then you see the replay and you're like, that's the
bounce I've ever seen on the puck moving that.
Brett's eyes repeals, yeah.
It's not even hard.
It's not true.
Watch this bounce.
You can't see from that angle, but they'll give you another.
He's trying to give it the old.
Takes a hop and then it's on its edge.
That thing takes a left at Albuquerque right there.
Come out is a huge twist.
And that was an early gift.
And then they had one going off a skate of a Minnesota wild player.
Okay, everything's coming up.
boilers, they were down 5-2 and had to settle for a 5-3-1.
Oh, no. Disfunction.
Disfunction.
Yeah. One of the big parts, as we say,
goaltending can usually explain all of problems.
Stuart Skinner here, now joining in the last 30 years.
Goalie's save percentage of the first 14 games.
I see a Ty Conklin there.
I see Tommy Sallow. I see a Jack Campbell who was yarded last year.
Do you know what I see?
And Stuart Skinner last year too.
I see a huge goaltender.
He's massive.
Big guy.
Duby.
You know, it's, uh,
it's almost as though maybe.
It's too big.
Size isn't as big a deal as me.
Some people need those smaller goalies,
team.
One of the said, figured it out.
I didn't find those small goalies now.
You know, they're just, they're gone early in the draft.
It's tough. You can't find them anywhere.
Yeah.
I've got some smaller goalies.
Tees and two.
I scheduled just two games, Dino.
That's it. They heard it was your birthday. They don't want you to get to all scrambled distracted.
Just a nice little double header for you.
Don't worry about.
Crosby against your beloved jets.
I don't think you should watch either of these.
And then the sabers who blanked the kings the other night,
they're going to face Leo Carlson and that fun young crew in the orange ducks.
Stay up late and watch that one, D.
Or just get hammered her. You don't have to watch it. It's fun.
Yeah. We'll see how it goes.
Tough night for the Jack.
The St. Patrick, Wilson, boom, tie.
And the field.
Jess says the Cleveland Browns in an absolute blizzard in a yuckfest,
AFC North Winter Classic, become the first team ever to commit three
turnovers, have over eight penalties, convert no more than one third down,
have under 25 minutes of time of possession.
Of possession, and they blew a 12 point fourth quarter lead,
and yet won the game.
Is this it?
Jack, back to you.
Oh, no.
That's the Tomlin classic.
Like, horrible coaching the whole
game. I sat here yesterday and praised him
for 10 minutes. I was like, Tomlin,
great decision-making,
went to Russ, everything's looking good.
That was some of the worst coaching I've ever seen.
They go for it on fourth down in the middle of the field.
Tomlin never goes for it.
He sends out fields.
Everyone in the building, everyone on Earth knows they're just running it up the middle,
gets immediately stuffed.
They keep digging themselves a hole.
They finally get out of the hole.
And then at the end of the game, he doesn't know how to clock manage.
There's like two minutes left.
He burns a timeout for some reason, accepts a penalty instead of declines.
It would have made it fourth and two instead of third and seven.
Winston gets some horseshoe throw to Jerry Judy.
And then Tomlin burns a timeout.
And then he lets them score on purpose.
some of the worst like
and this Thursday night
football stats are insane
we would lose to a fucking high school team at this point
I don't I don't get it
Jack
what about when they brought fields in
and then they're row a long
yeah third and four
we have the lead
you can ice the game
oh let's bring in Justin Fields and throw a
40 yard bomb down the sideline
he's been sitting in the snow for a couple hours
he's ready right
oh annoying man
Jack, yeah, it's like a serious blow.
We might need to show it to next week.
I'm fascinated to see where it goes.
So now the jackometer is, boy, I feel like it's kind of a giveaway.
What's me for our rule?
I don't know.
Are we prepared to do this today?
No, we've never had the 24-hour rule before.
I don't have to.
Do we have a?
I have it.
Oh, dear.
Oh, boy.
So it's basically the tone and tenor of Jack's emotions, the roller coaster.
And I do have some post-game first.
So let's do that.
Okay.
Because then we just, we could see all the emotions and why he's only going to get hotter.
This is great.
So let's start with Miles Garrett, who believes he's the best football player on the defensive side of the football.
And playing against T.J. Watt, not afraid to say so.
Tonight, and if so, what was said?
I mean, it's a little bit of the coin toss.
But that's about it.
Well, like I said, I got a lot of respect for him, a lot of respect for, you know, all the guys over there.
And, you know, the edge of the league.
But I'm number one.
And, no, that's from edge, edge one, edge one to defensive player the year.
I'm the guy.
So everyone's through me.
There's no other, no other person being defended as I am or skiing or playing against like I am.
So there's goes to show.
No, you can throw it out the window.
I'm going to find the way.
Jack, back to you.
Congrats at three and eight.
Meanwhile, Getty Pickens decided not to take the high roads.
Oh, no.
The high road.
My roads.
Can he pick it?
a picket. George Pickens
takes the high. There you go. Or no, he doesn't. Here we are.
Here's this quote. Conditions
played a huge, huge part in today's
game. I don't really think the Cleveland Browns are a good team
at all. The conditions kind of save them.
Jack, back to you.
I mean, is he wrong?
Well, you said yesterday, the conditions are going to play a role.
This whole three in the Steelers, love it.
In the Jack Gometer, they'd won but four straight
and it had been clipping along at a nine, and then
after the huge win over the Ravens, it just
They went into the stratosphere.
We broke the jackometer.
We got to check in last week.
Oh, gee.
Oh, well, all right.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, that was scary.
The jeeper went all the way.
It was a dead cat bounce.
It went all the way down and bounced.
It did get a good bounce.
It got a good stealer bounce.
Back up to a six.
Yeah, this is what we figure.
I don't disagree with this.
I'm just, but I'm looking.
The season started at a, at a five.
Yeah.
Three season, it started out of five and now eight and three and it's going to six.
No, but that was, it was all kinds of reasons.
Yeah.
And that's what it is.
That's why we do this too.
Listen, there's a lot of peaks of valleys in the world.
Now, is that smoke or is that the stench of the loss that we see there?
What is there?
Are we, we got a boomer or got a reggie there?
What is that?
I don't know what that is.
It's me
I'm sorry, Jack
But I'll take
Halapeno pepperoni
Well, that's not how it works
I get to decide
Oh damn
Okay
So now
I know it's the Pinda report
But yeah
Walk us through the last six weeks
Jack
What we got
Of the schedule
The upcoming
Last six weeks
So we got the Bengals
Browns, Eagles
Eagles,
Ravens Chiefs
Bengals
That's tough
to have that win, eh?
It wouldn't be good right now.
Nine and two feels good.
God.
Yeah, the bank, like, there's no easy game in here.
I don't think the Bengals are just going to write off the rest of the year.
Burroughs, like, the hottest quarterback in the league.
Well, and it's just a divisional game.
They'll be up for it.
They could win them both.
Be the Ravens.
And I have a buy week this week.
Ravens will want revenge.
They'll be ready for you.
It's in Dan, Baltimore.
Philly's been rolling.
Chiefs of the Chiefs.
We might just get that
nine and eight.
Eight and seven,
but I told you.
They'll be fine, Jack.
Don't work.
You know what they could do is go get another quarterback
that other teams have quit on guys.
Because, you know, people quit on Russ.
How dare you?
How dare you count on my toilets he had in his mansion
versus how many touchdown pass?
How dare you?
How dare you?
Crap all over Justin Fields.
Got this club off the beautiful four and two start.
Danny Dimes is now parted ways with the Giants.
Is available?
This is the Giants President John Mara.
Merah.
Daniel came to me this morning and asked if we would release him.
We mutually agreed that would be the best for him and the team.
Yada, yada, yada, yada.
We're representative of the team, disappointed, yada, yada, yada, yada, high regard, yada,
wish him the best in the future, yada, yada.
He walked away.
Well, they weren't going to want him around because he has that in the guarantee.
He was calling safety on the scout defense.
So they don't want him possibly getting
injured. No. He was not going to
play another shot. He's going to make his money.
I believe he is. He'll get paid.
You know what it is? It's whatever it is, six, seven weeks of not going to the stadium
and having media in your face.
Gotcha. And so what do you think of, uh, what do you think of cutlets?
Can I just stay home, please?
Yeah, seriously.
Please, can I just stay home? So we'll see. Did, does someone want to get a little look
under the hood before he becomes officially available?
Well, I wonder if he's getting paid, they,
wouldn't let him play for somebody else.
He's waived so someone could claim him in Syria.
That's the way I'm, yeah, I don't know how it would work.
Maybe I'm not. I'm not the NFL waiver wire guy.
But well, he's, yeah.
If someone wants him, I'm sure the Giants would let them have him.
He's a quarterback.
And as we said on the other football show,
saving Thursday yesterday,
where was everyone on Baker Mayfield when Cleveland quit?
When the Jets quit on Gino Smith,
when, you know, there's numerous guys.
Simon Darnel when Carolina quit on him.
Like, you might not be dead. It's just certainly done
with the Giants.
And those guys all have war
It's probably Baker's been the best of those three
But certainly you wouldn't have expected
To the rebound that they've had
They've been giving it the worst case
Very serviceable quarterback play
So make it's the dumb shit
We know it's your birthday and you love food
So we headed down south
Find something you'd love today
Here's bacon rap gate
Guys
Oh
Yes indeed baby
It's going down in Kentucky tonight
little alligator
special
thanks to Mr.
Audi and Miss Renee
we're out here
cooking an alligator
in a Kentucky hood baby
we get ready
for the LSU
Florida gave us
and we eating gator
on their birthday baby
there you go
didn't have birthday

the apple and it's a yap. Get that, yeah, flop it off. Don't eat it.
That said, head or no head, not touching it. A birthday, they said. And the Gators this weekend,
LSU, no. Yeah, yeah. You said you got your Christmas tree up. We saw noodles. He's got his
Christmas tree up. The, oh, yeah, yeah, what's got Christmas tree up? Last night. Christmas tree?
Dean, have you? Not yet. Okay, well, here's what happens. When you're unpacking,
sometimes there can be stuff you forgot about in there, check what happened out in Australia here
when they put up the tree. I cannot actually, but, you know, actually, but,
leave what I'm saying.
Come on.
Wallaberry, Dean.
They're friendly.
Yeah, mate.
Don't they have chlamydia?
You don't see every day. What are you doing
a new tree?
You belong outside.
We'll get the koala people for rescue, hey?
The koala people are coming.
Watch up. They've got big claws,
dude.
Nice until they're not.
Trees, right?
I think these be...
Cloth.
It's not going to like this.
Watch, she's very distressed.
Oh, don't worry about the tree.
Just don't you get hurt.
I don't know.
She wants to go that way.
Here we go.
She'll be out like a flash.
All right.
Scula.
Beautiful, aren't you?
Now, there's a...
She's got a baby in the way.
All right, here we go.
Watch out for that,
I'd be front of the tree, would you?
Quala's.
Chlamydia.
It's likely the marsupials
caught the disease from the exposure to feces of infected sheep and cattle.
Wet, matted fur on the bottom, dripping urine and conjunctivitis.
Coalas, that's the thing.
You're still not on side with going to Australia then?
So you're besmirching the koala.
They're very cute.
Kangaroos.
They're very cute, but just like you, you know, when you're in high school,
and you knew that there was just somebody you don't go near?
Oh, dear.
It's kind of a quality.
No.
Now, if there was someone that could convince you that come to Australia, who would it be?
Well, I...
It's only Ozzy Brad.
He's very...
He's very...
Boom, boom. Pinda. Retro.
Fucking man cave, boys, hats on.
Look at this.
Fucking worn in pretty good by now.
Now, listen here.
Just fucking little quick update from down here in fucking mummins.
Hot as fuck down here, by the way, boys.
But I'm fucking put a bed on, right?
I got on the wolf train.
Fuck it.
No.

All the way to fucking CY, fucking W or whatever,

But Boom, boom, you have a fucking great time, mate.
You're a fucking legend of a man.
Let's have some fucking brown liquor, hey, boy.
Burn, boom.
Happy 50th man.
Cake punts in, mate.
Thank you, brother.
Thank you, brother.
God almighty, what a dude.
What a legend that guy is.
And he did.
He's showing me the receipt on some Aussie sports book.
He fell home 34 to 1.
He was watching the show.
100 bucks.
$34.00.
I said, buddy, that's your flight.
over to watch Wolf next season.
He's all in on the Wolf's wrong.
Well, listen, he is
a diehard.
He is a diehard.
We're getting the parties. We know what I love that guy.
That guy's the best.
Apparently it's hot.
Is that what he was saying?
It sounded like it was hot.
He doesn't need the winter tires out there on his
Ute. He's going.
Beauty.
That's your pet, you know.
Thank you, Ozzie, Brad, for that.

There you go.
I wasn't really prepared for any of this.
I know.
Why, you look like you were ready for a big day.
We brought hungry, hungry hippos.
I see that, yeah.
No, I've got a thing.
I've got to get somebody to is kind of what it came down to.
But I appreciate the effort, man.
It's very nice.
Well, it's not done.
One more?
Let's go all more.
I don't know.
Do we want to do our football and then we can hit it on the way out or what do you want to do?
Whatever you want.
It's really weird.
It's all home runs here the rest of the way.
It is, hey, all right.
Let's see.
To recap, we've had Connie, Kron, Kari Ramo, John Gruden, Robboregear, Mike Commodore, Matt Staging, Kelly Kersh, Ozzie Brad.
I feel like we could play a few of those over again.
Holy smokes.
You know what?
Thanks for the tube, as Ozzy Brad was saying.
It can live on.
That's fantastic.
We put them all together, a little montage throughout on the tube.
Love it.
Love it.
You know, we can do our picks, but let's look at the, the sked for this week in NFL for our buddies over at Bet365.
Great partner of ours, official gaming partner of Barn Burner after burner.
There you see it.

And when you download the app, get that nation promo code in there.
It's going to be with your while.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet 365.
I did a little hockey last night.
I did a little money line, a parley deal.
Tell me of the one.
Ruins.
First game after the coach gets fired.
Right.
Bingo bingo.
And what was the other one?
I parlayed that with the Golden Knights.
Yes.
Money line, money line.
Little parley boost in there.
They give you a little bit sometime.
You know, pretty, d, do, do, do, do, d, d, d a secret.
Not secret.
Nish, formal code nation.
A five dollars turns into $21 and $20.
Well, thank you very much.
boy.
So we'll do our picks, but let's kind of, so the Cowboys are in the Washington's to take on
the commanders.
Commanders,
Minors 10.
A lot of points.
Lowly Cowboys.
But a lot of bad football, though, the Cowboys isn't playing.
It's still going to be Cooper Rush, a quarterback.
There's some gross.
Call for Trey Lance.
Now, did you see, was it after, so they got thrashed last week?
Texans.
And it was what, C.D. Lamb and Micah Parsons.
at the club afterwards.
They were dancing and doing stuff.
I didn't see that.
Yeah.
But you're on the page though, Dean.
Can't we do?
You gotta leave it at the game's over.
Now,
Daniels has this rib thing.
Harrib?
Herd rib?
He's ribs about two or three weeks ago.
They've not been as formidable since.
You know what that's like, Dean?
Bad ribs?
Haribs?
Yeah, yeah.
Is there any way you can take the Cowboys?
Because sometimes you just got to plug your nose.
I ended up
just because it's a big number.
Lions, Colts.
The Lions have just been
destroying teams.
And you feel like there's going to be
one of those weeks where it just doesn't happen.
Maybe still win. Do you win by six? Do you win by seven?
There's seven and a half favorites on the road
against the Colts.
Richardson back in, they looked good last week.
But to get lines seven and a half,
they're beaten teams by 40 or 50 points.
Jack, where are you on the Lions?
The Lions have done well for you.
Yeah, I'm going back to the well with the Lion.
All right, okay, we'll get to that.
Chiefs minus 11 at Carolina.
They lose last week.
They haven't been that impressive till now.
This number's tough too, because, you know,
it's John the Brooks debut.
Carolina's run the ball well,
but it's the best run defense in the league.
It feels about right.
Like, they should win it,
but they haven't really blown anyone out this year, have they?
No.
What is that?
was reading this morning. Mahomes, 11
interceptions, 10 touchdowns.
Gross. So his play hasn't been great.
The Bears probably should have a couple more wins.
Don't give up a Hail Mary and certainly don't
don't get your field goal block to win it.
They're home to the Vikings.
I think better the Bears sneakily.
Yeah. New offensive coordinator seemed
unlocked maybe a little bit for the Bears last week.
Patriots at Dolphins.
Dolphins are good. Be the Rams last week.
But the Patriots, everyone thinks they're bad.
They've been hanging in a lot of these games.
Seven point favorite at home are the dolphins.
The Buccaneers off the buy, I believe, are in New York to take on Tommy Cutlets.
And Mike Evans likely back for Tampa.
Huge get for Baker Mayfield.
Right.
Texans, seven and a half favorites at home to the Titans.
Denver goes into Vegas to play the Raiders.
The Broncos are favored by six.
Arizona off the buy minus one.
they're in Seattle to take on the Seahawks who had that kind of final minute victory last week against the Niners.
Niners, they're in Green Bay.
Getting three points are the Niners who are banged up.
Banged up.
Bosa injured.
Debo, nicked, purdy.
Laborate.
Like, they might not have Purdy.
That would be disaster.
Yeah.
The Eagles and the Rams.
Eagles on the road, three point favorites and the rave.
They are three-point favorites at the Chargers,
which might be the game of the week, Pender.
The Harbaul.
This might be the marquee matchup.
We've got to wait until Monday night to get it.
Harba, Harba, Harba. Love it.
Chargers have been better.
Seven and three is insane.
It's insane.
So we can do our picks.
Let's take a look at the pick record.
Not a lot to say there.
Hey, Red, not, don't really care.
He's got his picks. He's made his mind up.
He's done his research, dude.
By I supposed to break down every football?
I just thought maybe there'd be some thoughts or.
They didn't talk about the bills.
The bills run by.
I'm back.
There's where we sit through 11 weeks,
just under the 500 mark.
Am I 16 and 17.
Jack is rolling.
22 and 11.
Tidy. Pinder, 18, 14, and 1.
And retro, a very tidy,
19, 13, and 1.
Who's going to start us off this week with our picks?
Jack was leading.
Let's do it.
This is a weird week.
Yeah, it's a weird week.
Through all these games,
I really didn't like my.
So I'm just going to pick good teams.
Detroit, headed into Indy.
They've just been crushing.
I know last week, Indy actually looked decent.
Richardson came back from his timeout and played a pretty decent football game.
But the Lions crush and I'll take them minus seven and a half.
Chiefs coming off their first loss against the bills.
Carolina is a bunch of slouches.
They'll put up points.
They'll get right.
Levin's a lot, but I like it.
And then Baltimore coming off their for a loss against Pittsburgh.
heading to L.A., the Harborough Bowl.
I think Baltimore is the better team.
I like them to cover three here on the road.
I guess I like all the road teams.
Giving away points everywhere.
Road favorites.
All right.
Good football teams.
Yeah, that too.
That's the theme.
Let's go to Rett.
He's in second place.
Retro.
This is not me.
He's just changing it up.
Oh, there you go.
I'm doing the opposite.
There you go.
Look at this.
I'm the opposite.
I'm going to.
Bad teams with lots of points.
Give me the points.
Now, I don't know that San Fran is a bad team.
The Cowboys could have put up more points a lot the week before.
You're right.
The Panthers are garbage, but 11 points and the chiefs never cover, do they?
I thought that was a thing.
Yeah.
I'm skeptical about this Niners only because of the bumps and bruises and not knowing who's in and who's out on Sunday.
I'm tempted to make a switch to because I picked up the quarterback.
for New England for 50 bucks in our fantasy.
I'm thinking about maybe switching over to the...
But I got McCaffrey and Debo, Samuel, on my team,
so I'll go to the Niners.
And that's the game I wanted to watch if everybody's healthy.
That's a fun one.
At Lambeau this time of year, sure.
By the way, you noted the Chiefs struggling against the spread,
four wins against the spread this year.
That's it.
Yeah.
Not ideal.
Pinder?
All right.
take a peek. I think the bears are sneaky
all right and Minnesota's kind of
had some just ordinary play
since that 5-0 start. I like
the bears at home to not
as you said have something crazy happen like
a Hill Mary or get a 30 yard or blocked
to win the game. I like the
three and a half. Keep it close bears.
Let's it go.
Bucks, they get Evans back
and I know there's going to be excitement about a new
quarterback against the Giants. Bucks are a much better
team.
Otten, Evans,
Baker.
Let's roll.
And then finally the commanders, it's a lot of points.
I know, but Dallas has been an absolute disaster.
It feels like a bit of a get right spot for the commanders who've been just okay the last little bit.
Dallas is so bad.
Who haven't they made it look really good lately?
Let's be honest here.
I think they cover the tent.
All right.
Double digits.
It's a lot.
I know.
Scary.
I looked at the Houston, Tennessee one, but that's a lot of points too.
I don't know.
I'm going back to Denver.
They have been good to me.
They are on the road this year, five and one against the spread.
Wow.
They've already beaten Vegas this year, 3418.
That was in week five in Denver.
They're better since then.
And I would think, if anything, the Raiders are worse since then.
It's under a touchdown, I'll give it.
Give me the Broncos.
I'm kind of with Jack.
I think the chiefs, are the chiefs any good?
They don't cover.
They're stumbling around.
Mahomes this.
The Panthers are no good.
They just aren't.
And I feel like this could be a statement game for the Chiefs.
Yeah, we've lost, but we're still the elite.
And yeah, I don't love, I don't love it.
But I'll take the three points for the Niners and hope that Purdy plays.
This is, I mean, if it's Sunday and Purdy's not in, I'm not taking the game.
But Green Bay needed a blocked field goal to beat the Bears.
They just, they've been kind of skimming by, I feel like.
So I'll take the Niners and the points.
So Broncos and Chiefs.
and then the Niners.
Road teams.
I had one thing I wanted to mention.
Brian Robinson is an excellent running back.
The Dallas Cowboys are the worst against the run
and have been particularly bad the last month.
If you want to go find some Brian Robinson props
might be a good thing to do on Bet365 this weekend.
Even Echler's been eaten.
Very good. Yeah, and McNichol when someone's been hurt,
it's been fine. They run the ball well there.
Inside the 10, they love feeding Robinson.
What were the other bubble?
So you kind of had,
Patriots at Dolphins getting seven points.
Yeah, I hate that.
Dolphins, I just don't know what I'm ever going to see from now.
But the Patriots have hung around in some games here.
Give them credit.
One of the afternoon games, Arizona, Seattle.
It's too close.
I want to see the weather and see them.
A pick them.
But that should be a hell of a football game.
Yeah.
I do look forward to the Vikings and Bears,
regardless of see if the Bears can be a little bit better.
And the other ones, it's kind of, I mean, the Cowboys are bad and the Colts, Colts lines should be okay.
Detroit will make that interesting.
But how do you feel about your chargers in the hard bowl?
I'm excited to learn about him.
I think Herbert is, they've really let him throw the ball the last month plus after keeping the rains real tight on him, the opening month.
And Baltimore is susceptible to the past.
It just are.
But if you think you can run J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards against their old team to success, it's going to have to be Herbert's arm that gets it done.
and then we also saw them just melt down against Cincinnati last week,
ended up winning.
But, you know, if you're going to let teams come back 21 points in a row unanswered,
that's, I want to tidy that up.
I think we got a classic on Monday.
Not that, though.
I really felt bad for the, for Jack last night.
I know how.
You did reach out a lot in the group chat.
He was napalming, like three different group chats were in because we have the third day
on and we had the show one and there was another one.
I'm just like, oh, my God.
Beauty for Jack.
Was there a sitting down?
Plenty of emotion.
Slow start.
They don't, they look beat.
Oh, my God.
They're going to win.
No, what happened?
Like, who.
I just wanted to stay.
I didn't want to kind of rub salt,
although I saw you did.
What were they up?
18 to 3, the Browns.
You kind of put a little dip in the old,
the old chat there.
Should have punted.
I'm officially pissed.
Tomlin is coaching like a dumb bleep.
Tomlin is coaching a complete dumb.
This game is so dumb. Snow is so bleep. What the bleep am I watching? This Cleveland thing. They bang the bleachers. It's bleep. The bleep put bleeping fields in. What the bleep. That's all we wanted. This two quarterback bleep is bleep. Oh, gee, this is the dumbest game I've watched in my life. I'm just yelling at my TV. What the bleep? What is Tomlin doing? Oh, my gee, what the bleep. Tom's he coaching I've ever seen. I'm so bleeping pissed. No sense. Why did he make a third and seven?
versus then he burns the time some of the worst coach guy I've ever seen I got a lot to see tomorrow
wow and you know what some of the stats you hear the trends that come in well what whatever
happened 10 years ago how does that influence this game right but with the loss
Steelers on the road in a divisional game on a Thursday 0 and 8 oh and 6 under tomlin
tomlin all time just on Thursdays is two and nine insane and I agree numbers otherwise are
are very good.
Sorry, Jack.
Sorry, Jack.
Hey, they don't play on Thursday next week.
Yeah, I don't, hopefully they don't play.
And you know what?
What's good is it wasn't as though the whole football world was just sitting and watching last night.
There was, there was a lot of other NFL games to take people's attention.
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
It was a good game.
The weather got crazy.
Well, you think about it, the bloody ball.
Their last three games, it's Baltimore comes down to final play of the game, Washington
final play of the game.
And even last night, they had the he,
going to the end zone.
Like they,
these have been tight.
So were you going to win all three of those on the final play?
I guess not.
No.
I guess not.
Pizza.
Pizza.
Pizza Monday.
Love pizza.
Yeah,
we'll do it Monday.

Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet 365.
Or penguins and jets tonight?
Oh, can't wait.
How many goals do I need to lay on the jet side?
That's the buckline.
Minus three and a half?
Yeah, I didn't make them off with Pittsburgh over anymore, right?
Yeah, I know.
And so now it's just like, uh, okay.
Marcus Pedersen will view out.
Marcus Granlan's actually played it really well.
ago they gave up in the Carlson deal. He's been on fire
for San Jose. Two points last night again.
Tough spot. Yeah.
How quick can you turn this around for Sid?
I don't know. It was a done deal.
I don't know why he signed that deal.
It's like he would not see who he wants to lose the rest of his career.
Thought the guy had a winning attitude. I guess not.
Better go to Colorado, son.
You said no, Leon. If he wants out, they'll move.
That's right.
Not know.
Flames Nation, Barberter, folk. We want to hear from you.

That is correct.
Well, sorry about the vehicle stuff yesterday.
That's no good.
Well, I mean, I'm going to be fine.
Truck's going to be in great shape.
Just a couple pieces on the bumper.
I feel for this other fellow that went sliding into me.
Yeah.
Should have had a Honda.
Should have.
What's up for the weekend?
fellow. I'm off to
Elkford, British Columbia to pull
the Glen Lake and
Bow Valley teams. And I'm
going to Claire's home. Oh, but
we're actually 30, which is 45 minutes
from Alcford. Yes.
You know what, Rhett? I love
Claire's home. It's got to
like obviously it's a little small town, but
it was a few years ago. My kid
had right around Christmas a
tournament in Claire's home.
It's like walking
down small town. Well, it means
Manitoba, Saskatchew.
There's the home hardware.
You go and they got the little Christmas stuff.
It'll be very festive for you.
You'll enjoy the little festival.
I've been to Claire's home.
I like it.
I'm disappointed, actually.
There was a pizza joint there that had to shut down.
No.
Duros, some of the best pizza you could get.
I'm telling it.
I remember that place.
Yeah.
Yeah, I remember that place.
They got the big Claire's home Vulcan rivalry or is it Fort McLeod?
What's the story there?
know who are they? Sure.
Yeah. Not sure. But it's just, you're not, so you're, are you guys staying in Claire's home?
There was a discussion. Some people were booking rooms and I'm like, no.
It's an hour. Yeah. I don't, maybe.
The south. Yeah. From the south, it's not an hour. Oh, you know, you do. Hitching post.
High River. On the way. Are they open in the winter?
I have no idea. I just know hitching post if I'm passing high river. Yeah, hitching post in high river.
There's the Big Sky Barbecue in Okotokes.
Oh, that's true, too, yeah.
Just taking a little spots along the way because, you know, it's about food.
Let's be honest.
It's always about food.
Well, thank you for your efforts.
You got a meal tonight, special meal?
What do you got?
Big day?
What are you for your big day?
Yeah.
Yeah, not nothing.
No.
Really just tried to fly under the radar, quite honestly.
Awesome.
Yeah.
So we'll see how it goes.
But that's very nice of you guys to do.
Well, there's another five guys that we're not going to let it fly under the radar.
Did you want to?
You could have done this.
Yeah, we got that too.
Why don't we open the present first?
Do you that for him?
If you were here, you would have had something to do to this.
Right.
All right, hungry hippos here.
Is that a new hungry, hungry hippos?
Yes.
He built it today.
Look at the box.
Sorry, Ed.
Is that?
And look what it is.
It's a puzzle of a dog on a toilet.
Is that a toilet?
Oh, my God.
And I love golden retrievers.
It's your name.
That's bird.
He's taking a dump.
He's taking a door.
That's nice.
I love it.
How many pieces?
Thousand?
Oh, that's a weekend.
You get this.
You got clients.
You can't give it a post.
Oh.
That's so weird.
Good job.
But I'm not.
I know you could, but you won't.
That's very nice, guys.
I can leave it there.
I'll maybe slide by and get it.
He's reading the K-9 times.
He is reading.
He's on the toilet.
It's a dog.
It's a puzzle.
A thousand piece.
It's perfect.
Don't go anywhere.
All you people saying,
oh, yeah, we're not done yet.
You got some gems to unload.
Jack,
sit it.
Why'd you say?
Huh?
What was that?
Co.
Booms?
Turning 50?
Wait.
He's not already 50?
I mean, take it from one guy who looks old.
That's actually kind of impressive.
I'm not going to lie.
To our heart of hearing,
sunglasses wearing,
captain and fearless leader of Barnburner,
happy birthday.
I mean, you kind of are a bit of a miserable prick,
so I'm hoping that you actually enjoy this day
and the very festive roast that is forthwith.
But in all seriousness, happy birthday, boom.
Joining your show once a week and playing a very small part in it
is one of the highlights of my week and beyond that.
I'm so thankful that you took a chance to come with us
and join the Nation Network.
You, Pinder, Rhett, your whole crew in Calgary.
It's been fantastic getting to know you guys.
and the trust that you've placed in me and others to help continue to drive this business
has been not lost on me and our conversations that we've had over the years.
You've been a great friend and I wish you many, many more.
Happy birthday.
Hey, boomer, congratulations on half the century of sweetness and light and giddy optimism.
Who am I kidding?
Commergens, you got a curmudge.
So, happy birthday, pal, and you'll like this.
It only gets worse from here.
Yeah.
Happy birthday, Boomer.
Congrats on the Big 5-0.
It was fun getting a chance to work with you all those years ago.
I really truly enjoyed being able to stop and get you coffee and pastries every day on the way into where it's not.
I especially appreciated the extra clean and organized and technologically up-to-date studio that we shared our time in.
It always made such memories.
Now, on a serious note, Boomer, congrats.
I hope there's lots of celebratory drinks from the future.
Boom is 50.
50.
My friend, whether you were handing me a big pair of headphones to wear in red beer,
getting me to read candy commercials on the morning show,
you're a gem, you're a friend, I love you, you're not good people.
You're great people.
Happy birthday, baby.
Hey, boomer.
I just wanted to say happy 50th.
I got to be honest, I thought you were like 50, like six years ago.
So I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Like maybe you're getting younger, you're looking younger,
or you've looked old and you've looked 50 for like many years.
Take with that what you will.
But anyways, I hope you have an amazing 50th.
God, I wish I was 50.
I'm an old bag of dirt compared to you.
So enjoy.
for me. Wish I could be there. You've been a great friend. Love working with you.
You're the best, buddy. Happy 50th. I believe, I mean, maybe it's 50 Canadian.
Maybe you're 50 U.S. with the exchange rate. You're like 58 Canadian. That's kind of what it is.
You're 50 U.S. Enjoy. Appreciate that. Wow.
Well, thank you to everyone for the kind words. And thank you to
to you two donkeys and Jack and
RJ obviously you had a big hand in this.
He's an incredible job on all this. He deserves a massive
round of applause and some of those came in very late. Some of them he had
for a while. That's a lot of hard work. That's unbelievable.
I mean, it's
I don't even know like it's
it's a big one, right? It's hard.
Yes. I know that you're given that but it's like, holy
50. When you go 30 to 40, I'm out of my 30s, 40.
Oh, well, 40, whatever you can kind of win. And then it's like 50.
Like in my hometown, they have a 50 and over club where when we were going up, all the old
fox would go and shoot pool and they could have like stubby beers and stuff.
All my buddies are, we're all turning 50. We're getting the cards. It's like, oh, here's your
membership to the 50 and over club. It's like, geez.
You just didn't think that
that you'd ever be there.
And I'm not even,
I don't want to get serious about it.
So I appreciate you guys.
The Oval date.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's real.
One of the line.
You killed it,
bud.
Yeah.
Yeah. It's,
is that on 365?
You got to really dig.
It's a lot.
There's a lot of,
like they say,
scrolling.
Huge range of markets.
Huge range of markets.
World's largest sports betting.
It's never ordinary.
Yeah.
Well, I'm glad I could hang in there.
I told what I told my wife, I'm like, you know what?
Because over the last, wake it up early and next 10, best 10.
That's our, that's our motto.
You want in with us?
Next 10, best 10?
Best 10.
All right.
Fucking rights.
Next 10 best 10.
I can't do this.
I can't do this.
and hit the thing. Are we ready to hit the thing?
See you, buddies.
Let me go hit the thing and...
Hell don't...
See you, buddies.
