Do you want to start or?
From home, I'm not good from home.
Okay.
I got you.
I got you.
Hey, buddies, welcome to the show.
It is Barnburner on your Friday.
We are into it.
We're in the McLeod Law Studios, even though we're in our cozy confines.
I got the fire on.
The tree is lit.
Rets got the Florida Panthers golf bag.
There it is, yeah.
Yeah.
Very festive.
Cozy.
Got our hats on.
holiday season, the 19th of December.
That's very close.
It's a lot to do in a short amount of time.
But we'll do it.
We're not afraid.
We're in the spirit.
Appreciate you being a part of it here on your Friday.
Bet365 presenting sponsor of the Barn Burner.

Get it in the game.
you must be 19 years of age or older.
And quite a football game last night.
I felt very good about my, whatever it was, Rams plus point and a half.
Oh, great.
Had a lot of points during that football game.
Didn't end up that way.
Crazy game.
We'll look at it in the Pinder report.
So what captured your attention more, the football or the hockey?
I was going to text the group and say, and I don't want to be, I decided I was a little bit, I'm being too negative.
I'm going to add a little bit of, and so, but I was going to text the group and say, this is an NFL regular season game.
Yeah.
And then I did the, and I went to a regular season hockey game.
Yeah.
They were different.
Now, big implications, two top teams.
teams, but two teams from Seattle.
It's true.
Think about that, Dean.
Two teams from Seattle.
I wonder who's garnering more attention.
Yeah, I think I know.
They were, they were, uh, the home team tonight.
The, uh, whatever, what are they, what are you, if you're from Seattle?
Because if you get, they have chowder there, but you've had it's Boston.
You're not a cheese head.
You're, uh, you're, uh, you're,
are you a cracket?
I don't know what you'd be.
I don't know what you'd be if you're from Seattle.
A win-one-lose-one night for the Seattle folk.
We'll get into the hockey part of it.
Here in the McLeod Law Studios, before we go any further.
Looking forward to the holiday of spirits show coming up.
We're going to be in studio.
We're going to have our legal team joining us.
Just in case.
It's a nice thing about having a Calgary-based law firm, right?
if you need help and you need help in a hurry.
They're right there.
They're in your midst.
There they are.
Yeah.
The camera's driving me crazy.
How do you shut that off?
There's got to be a way.
It seems very finicky today.
Oh,
it's very active,
but I did put it on the floor,
so somebody might have been kicking it around a little bit.
That might be kicking it around a little bit.
The Calgary Flames.
We took her on the show yesterday.
We took some runs at the Cracken.
We always seem to take some runs at the Flames,
but we,
I mean, for the Cracken, we looked at today's roster.
We kind of gave them the business.
We looked at their original, how they put the team together.
That was a very good job.
Ron Francis, I don't think you know what you're doing.
This draft thing, I don't know who you draft, this whole thing.
So I was ready for them to really kind of stick it right in Artukas
to come out and really show us.
And I guess they kind of did as they had leads,
but couldn't hang on to them.
I don't know that they stuck it into our,
or took us or anywhere close to that.
They did have leads.
Yeah.
But it was,
it felt very one-sided.
And I, again,
try to be positive.
I didn't want to take runs at Seattle because we ever did that.
Yeah.
So I was just, damn, flames played good, lots of shots.
Did you see that Goddry goal?
Yeah, yeah.
You ripped it.
Then Coronado, beautiful.
But I do feel like Seattle's in this for the long haul.
They're going to put up a hell of a battle.
I do too.
The looks of that team?
Yeah, I don't know who's,
who on that team looks like they have it in them, say, boys?
Get on my back.
Right here.
I'm going to pull us out of this house fire.
I got you.
You're good.
Chandler Stevenson scored
I'm just cool
sorry good player
just fine player
probably third line guy
on a lot of teams
really good teams
he's probably your third line guy
but I'm with you
there was not a lot of
the flames again have looked
fairly consistent in their effort
they've been
they come out they work hard
get some power plays
maybe they score on them
maybe they don't
but they're still very limited
in what they're able to
accomplish. I was worried about that in the third
period. They got the power play and they didn't score
and I'm like, ooh,
you got to score against
this team. Their penalty kills
stinks. Yeah. Then they got
another one and they did score. So, all is good.
Nazim Cadry.
There was a, I think there was a play
right before that one goes in. We can take a look
at the Cadry goal, but it was, uh,
was it was a Sharon Govich. And it was
almost like, just kind of, I'm just going to try and
try and drift this one in.
It was not a very good shot. It's like, you got to hit
that thing.
Goddry says it just let you look out.
I'll go over here.
I'll rip it.
It's a good pass by Rasmus.
Great shot.
Great shot.
A cadre doesn't have to move.
Is that where you want it when you're a hockey player on a one
timer?
I couldn't take a one timer.
No?
So I didn't ever want the puck,
but it sure seems like that was a good spot.
You would just do a one touch pass, give it back to the guy.
Well, see the corner.
Just to
beside the cadre there,
it would end up in there.
Yeah.
Go a little bit further,
Jack.
Like right where on this angle,
keep it going.
Right here.
There.
Yeah.
Like that feels,
I'm reaching.
I'm losing my balance.
I'm reaching back.
Why would you put it?
No.
Just off that back foot,
Dean.
The back foot.
Just inside the back foot.
It's beautiful,
beautiful stuff.
And then Maddie Cornotto,
we talked about him on the show yesterday.
He didn't play much in that third period
the other game. What the hell is this coach doing?
What are we talking? What's going on here?
And we said, the one thing,
it's almost a curse now for Matt Coronado.
Yeah. If he gets benched
or he gets sits for a little bit, he does respond
and come back. So the cadre goal ties
it, and then it's another hell of a shot.
Stop, wait, we could whiteboard this though.
Really? You've just given up
the tying goal. Yeah.
You're on a three on two,
Rush entering the offensive blue line as a cracking.
Yeah.
And this is the play?
Go ahead, Jack.
Bad.
So kind of a backhand.
To no one, nowhere into coverage.
Why are you getting rid of the puck?
Yeah, you're not, there's some back pressure there.
You're in the NHL.
You can fight through that.
Just keep your feet moving.
Get the zone and make a play.
What are you doing?
And then followed up and running to each other.
And it's Huberto who's back.
So it's a forward too who is covering for a defenseman who's pinched.
Now that has nothing to do with one hell of a shot at the corner.
Like those eight there, picked the corner and blasted it.
But I did find it interesting.
See, that's why you're on these things.
Great insight.
It's so valuable.
I was.
I was laughing watching that.
And then this guy comes down,
don't oh shit
and I
because I went back and looked at it
I'm like how deep is
decorred on this play
because it seems like
there's a lot of net
not to take anything
it's a great shot
well if you want
it's like
it just feels like
doesn't it seems like
there's over
the goalie's left shoulder
it seems like there's
but it didn't even go over
if you watched it closely
if you saw it actually hits
them
clips them on the way
it flicks them on the way by
it just
continues on.
Now Don Cherry would always say as a defenseman, get your stick out of there.
Does Vince Don's stick?
Does that kind of do something?
If Jack wants to back it up, I don't know that stick.
Just go back a little further, Jack, if you can.
Okay, the puck was turned over and now it's coming at you.
What's done doing?
Why are his feet, you'll see here in a second.
Why are you so flat-footed?
Like, watch.
Yeah.
What are you doing?
And now you almost fall over.
Like, this guy's coming at you now with speed.
you know. Anyway, and again, he's still
kept to the outside. It's a hell of a shot by Coronado,
but if you wanted to nitpick the crack and you could.
Cadre's eighth, Coronado's 11th. They get a couple in just over a minute,
a minute 15, something to that, in that neighborhood. One of power play,
one even strength, and they erase a deficit, take a lead.
They add one into an empty net, another empty netter for Michael Backland.
He's got a two or three, at least on the season already.
And they win this thing four to two.
But yeah, and you can see on some of those shots 40 to 20.
Yeah.
Final shots, 4623 in favor of the flames.
So there was only one thing, Missadino.
I thought Wolf had a chance to go for it, the emptying it.
Yeah.
I thought he was going to, he stopped it.
He did a nice hard rim.
He did a good thing, but I felt like, you got a jet.
Oh, come on.
Yeah.
Come on.
He'll get one someday.
I think he'll get one.
Don't pass up on those opportunities.
That's a big win for the flames.
Isn't there a guy on a team or on our team yesterday that was saying some things?
You know, here's the thing.
You're not going to lose them all.
There's going to be some wins.
If you can't shit on them for playing well and earning a win.
No.
You can't do it.
You can thumb your nose at Seattle and say,
what the hell's your problem?
Why are you guys so shitty?
But when the crack can go out and say,
well, we're going to play the team that's opposite tonight.
And if that team's going to be horseshit and we're going to be good,
then yeah, we're going to win 402.
Wow.
And I do wonder if the flames kind of have just found a,
this is where we fall into.
This is our work ethic.
This is our ability.
This is screwing on my camera.
But they have,
you've said it the last couple of days,
they've been consistent,
which is what they were last year.
where it's just kind of like,
yeah, this is what we do.
We're not great.
We could have lost that game.
But we played well enough to win.
Boy, it's funny.
And in some ways, last year and now again this year,
I think we talked about last year too.
What the flames do have is something that probably a lot of coaches
in the NHL would love to have.
Right now, go talk to Craig Barubi.
After that game against the Leafs lose,
Barubi's like, yeah, we got just,
they had more passion,
work ethic than they did.
We just,
we got out competed.
And he was asked,
is there any reason,
any logical reason why that would be the case?
You got to ask them,
meaning as players,
go ask them why the,
the effort and the try and the give a shit isn't there.
These guys don't give you,
we don't care nights for the most part.
And if they do,
it gets,
yeah,
it's spirals.
We've seen it a couple times this year.
But for a team that is challenged to score goals,
and they don't have a lot of,
they're just not blessed with
that kind of high-end skill and talent,
it does not keep them from trying hard.
No, and it kind of proves maybe Maloney was saying
and what their approach is,
I don't agree with it, but you don't get a lot of throwaways
from them.
At the start of the year, I don't know,
I'm trying to remember back to middle of October
and if it was the same,
but even if it wasn't, the last month has been.
Yeah.
I mean, October was rough.
They lose 8-1.
What was that?
The Vegas game, 6 to 1.
They lose that.
That was a gross one.
So, yeah, there were some bad ones along the way.
But everything, there was a correction.
Over the course of November, we've talked about the numbers, 8s, what is it now, 9, 3 and whatever the hell it is.
More and one?
Yeah.
Whenever, it seemed like whenever Rasmus Anderson came out and he had that kind of comment
it's, you know, maybe it's too late.
We should have had that desperation.
I don't know why it hasn't been then.
From then, they've given you all that, Huska, for the most part,
has to be at the end of the night, maybe disappointed with the results on nights,
but a lot of times it's like, well, we were pretty good.
Yeah, we were all right.
Most nights he's driving home and he can say to himself, it's an 82 game season.
You don't win every game.
And, yeah, there's different things that have done or wish the guys would have done, but.
And you know what that said?
They weren't, I guess, not, not,
is not great in San Jose.
No.
But this, you could, you could probably file this one in the 60 minute effort kind of category.
Well, and if you want to go back to San Jose, Celebrini makes a couple of beauty plays.
They're a little bit sleepy.
And I was actually going to say it before you even brought up San Jose, they are good enough and playing consistent enough to go beat teams like Seattle.
And L.A.
But when you run into a high-end talent that's going as good as, you know what I mean?
Then the trouble creeps in.
Yeah, the game breakers, they're still susceptible.
If it's going to be a track meet or you want to get into special teams play against teams that are good at.
And this reinforces kind of our take on the whole, the organization as a whole.
You can sell it as you're fine.
but you're not good enough to be great.
And like you said,
like this is kind of what Maloney was saying.
We want the culture and all of that.
Do you have faith in,
I guess I would be asking Maloney
or I would be asking ownership?
Do you have belief in the people
that you've installed within the team
that you don't have necessarily
a special collection of players right now
that happen to be working for one another
and all of that?
could you move some pieces in and out, like some high-end skill guys,
and could you still have to play the flames means you're playing a team that plays a certain way,
as opposed to you're just so blessed with this group of individuals that happen to care more often than not?
Because it's to be afraid to dismantle or to make changes or to get younger,
because you have a team that works so hard, you have a good culture.
Well, a culture is, it's more than just.
just the individuals.
It's everyone in the building.
It's the whole staff.
It's everything.
I just...
And I would be more fearful of dismantling or making a change to a culture.
If there was a track record of success,
we're still talking about a whatever 30th place team here that has not made the playoffs.
So you can brag about your effing culture all you want.
Yeah.
Pender says it all the time.
So yeah, they've been on this nice little run.
It's very impressive.
They're still 30th.
They're still 31st, 30th.
They're still languishing near the bottom of the overall standards.
They're not 500.
No.
They're not 500.
And 500, like, in a way, it's like, oh, you know,
there might be people out there and fans and media or whatever.
Oh, they're 500.
What's 500 get you?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Muckie Middle.
Yeah, like, let's, let's, let's, uh, let's, uh, let's aim higher.
Yes.
Let's aim higher than, than being 500, then being average, uh, because average, yeah, that, you, you, you know what that gets you.
More than the same.
Yeah.
So it's, you don't want to shit the, I don't know, the victory and they did work and they beat a team.
They're trying to catch.
And they've got a great record in the last 14 games.
And they're playing consistent hockey.
and they're working.
And Rasmus Anderson, oddly enough,
in a contract year is kicking ass and looks great.
He does look great.
Maybe it's not as bleak as we make it,
but then you look at the standings.
Yeah.
25 minutes tonight for RAS was 25, 11, last night, sorry.
Three helpers, all primary assists,
as is noted.
He's, uh, the points keep coming.
He keeps playing.
He looks very comfortable and,
you saw it in San Jose,
snaps his stick near the end of the hockey game,
he gets pissed off.
He's,
he's the player.
Yeah,
he's a great player and you'd hate to take him out of the room.
But it feels like,
you know,
Elliot was talking about,
I don't know what podcast he was on or whatever.
It's not,
it's nothing that's really new,
but it's,
was he on ours?
No,
he wasn't on ours.
He would come on ours.
I don't want to throw him under the bus.
Anyway,
um,
it's,
he's,
Elliot's kind of said,
this is,
this is maybe he waffles a little bit.
Rasmus does.
Like,
yeah,
if you know,
probably going to be a trade this year,
gonna,
probably get dealt before the deadline.
And then I do like the flames.
I do like,
we like it in Calgary and
there's a building coming and
if the money could work out,
maybe I'd stay sort of a thing.
But the belief still seems to be that there's a,
unless the flames have up their,
offer, if you want to even call it that, when they exchanged numbers.
There was just such a wide gulf between what the flames were looking at and what
Rasmus was willing to take on a long-term deal.
Even if there's an appetite, well, maybe I'd stay.
You're going to have to pay this.
I mean, is he nine?
Is it a nine million dollar a year kind of thing?
Oh, I think with the contract or the salary going out.
Yeah.
But I have to catch myself with it and go, oh, nine, too.
I should not think about numbers.
I should think about whether he's going to be able to contribute for the rest of the contract.
I shouldn't worry about numbers because the numbers to me don't make sense anymore.
The cap's going up so much.
And no one's talking about a cap crunch.
Pinder percent of the other day, I'm like, well, aren't they going to spend to the cap even if it's going up?
Do you know what I mean?
like, they're given a budget, the teams that spend it will spend it.
Yeah, so I still feel like there's going to be cap pinches, but blah, blah, blah, blah,
regardless, I shouldn't look at, well, nine million for Rasmus Anderson.
There's a lot of guys in the NHL making more than nine million that are 10 times worse,
and I would take Rasmus Anderson a hundred times over them.
Yeah.
So on one hand, it's the problem for our take on the whole.
situation is that Rasmus Anderson is your biggest chip.
And if you don't use him correctly, you maintain status quo.
And what we just said is, you've not made the playoffs.
You're not at 500.
So when the owner and management want to stand at the podium at the end of the year
and explain what their...
approach to things are and not call it fantasy hockey and give us a real answer well listen yeah
i'll listen but you've said it you've said it a few times though and it's the one thing that
in a way you could you could see maybe being the the end how they finish in the standings and
the division and overall you know the 30th 29th or the mucky middle whatever is if the return
isn't what they deem
appropriate.
They don't want to pay him so much money.
So they're valuing him at what?
So let's just turn this around.
What are the flames valuing Anderson?
Not nine or nine and a half,
which is what he wants.
And if he was going to,
they valued him at that much,
they'd pay him and he'd take it
and we would be on past this topic.
So there's obviously a sticky point.
Are the flames trying to screw drop Anderson?
Or do they value him at seven?
and I'm just throwing out stupid numbers
because I have no idea what they've offered them.
But if he's at 9 plus,
what are they at?
Well, if they're valuing him at 7,
how can you go to
Dallas and go, he's worth three firsts?
Well, then if he's worth three firsts,
then you should, he's a steal at 9.
Why aren't you paying him?
Yeah.
Yeah, I guess my point is,
because you've talked about it,
If you get to a point and it may not have any bearing where you are in the standing,
if you're getting close to the deadline and you look at us at the market's, it's flat.
It's not there.
We're not seeing what we want to get.
Do you then pivot?
Well, maybe we need to, maybe to maximize this asset, we have to keep the asset.
I cannot lose my mind over another Mark Gerdano situation.
If this kid walks for nothing, who.
I'm done.
Yeah, I can't imagine.
I won't be able to talk about this squad or the management.
Then they should all be fired even though they got new deals.
No, seriously.
If they let Rasmus Anderson walk for nothing, this is a joke.
I can't.
Yeah, it's not going to happen.
Yeah.
But if it did, but if you, it's not going to happen, but it did happen.
It has happened before.
It has happened.
Yeah.
for this organization.
So I don't believe it will, but.
And that's the other thing that, like, be afraid if you are like us and you're kind of embracing being at the bottom of the standings for what it can mean for a draft pick.
So be afraid of going higher in the standings, not only for what it does for your, for your pick, potentially, but also what it does to ownership and the brass who are thinking, hey, we're just, we're a few.
points back of a wildcard, maybe, oh, maybe we've got to hang on to this guy.
Well, then they'll tell you they are playing the long game.
Right.
Like we say, well, yeah, it might take a couple years.
No, no, no, that's what we're doing.
We're playing the long game.
And we need an Anderson in three years where we're competitive.
And we're our approaches, you're not competitive if you don't move Anderson.
Their approach is we are competitive if we don't move Anderson.
because we've got a plan.
And Russian is going to come in
and we're going to be that much better.
And Hansik's going to be better
because he's a year old and he's hurt.
But do you know what I mean?
Yeah.
This is what they believe.
And I know Ryan says it all the time
that he believes that there's going to be something there.
That if your price,
what you want is a player and a first or whatever it is,
that it doesn't,
he is playing well enough to justify that.
It's not.
like you need to squint and say, well, if he comes here and joins us,
maybe his play will elevate.
He's been very good.
But it also, for the people running the team that might have some say,
it might also influence their ability to get the bigger number.
He didn't play that well last year.
And if he comes walking through the door and I need 10,
you're like, wow, I don't know if you need 10, bud.
Yeah.
And now you're watching,
you're going,
oh, shit, man,
maybe he needs 10.
Yeah,
when he was minus 40 or whatever he was.
Right.
There's always the other side of the coin.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah,
he's demanding more.
And the flames are going,
why are the after we giving up on this guy?
He's great.
He plays 25 minutes a night.
Yeah,
last year,
he was minus 38.
Oh,
it was not.
And again,
for people that care about,
but when,
you're minus 38 to that tune.
It's like, well, that's, that's a big number.
That's, that's hard to get away from.
On a team that almost made the playoffs.
Yeah.
Minus 38.
He's plus three this year.
If Rasmus was minus 25 last year, the flames make the playoffs.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
That's one.
When you finish tied, uh, yeah.
It's enough for, it's enough for that.
You know, and we can move on because God, we're going to talk a lot about this guy.
He said,
Craig said everybody at the start of the year,
it's not going to be a distraction.
It's not going to be a distraction.
Now, we talk a lot about it,
but is it actually a distraction to the player of the team?
I don't think it's just a levity to your play.
When you're just going out trying to earn.
Honestly,
a little bit of extra motivation easily.
There's some motivation.
There's some,
well, let's see what happens.
I'm just going to play.
I'm just going to play.
Let's see what.
happens. It can make it easier to play. And I don't think he's struggled with, he had a shitty year last year and I don't even think it was that bad. Yeah. Like his plus minus was bad. But I don't, I don't remember watching last year going Rasmus is terrible. I remember going, he doesn't look as good as he has. Are the wheels falling off a little bit? And what's the future hold? But I don't remember going, this guy, you shouldn't play him. He should be in a stand. Like, it wasn't that. He wasn't terrible.
Anyway, I don't think it gets a distraction.
I don't think he's ever lacked confidence.
And I think he's a good player.
Yeah.
So shouldn't be a distraction.
No, because I, and it's credit to them.
And maybe it's because they're winning some games now.
I don't know.
But the fact that we and the media talk about it and ask him questions and go on and do all this,
that's, that's our prerogative.
We don't need to do that because it's not a situation where it's hurting the team.
If anything, it's helping the team.
Like you say, it's a contract.
It will only become a distraction.
It won't even be a distraction.
It'll just be a, did he get traded today?
Yeah.
Closer to his fate up.
It's tired of talking about it.
Excuse me.
So yeah, there you go.
Big 4-2 win.
It's impressive.
They were the better team pretty much from start to finish,
despite being down a couple times in the scoreboard,
4 to 2.
It's a wolf win.
I think I can do, do I have the, yeah, it's working.
Even from here, even from here it works.
So that's now 1113.
and two for Wolf.
They will play the Vegas
Golden Knights
coming up on Saturday,
Edmonton on the 23rd,
and then Christmas.
Vegas is a good team.
Oilers are playing well.
Vegas is a good team.
Can we tell you about the
Vegas Golden Knights?
See, they know how to be an expansion team.
Seattle, I got no idea.
Seattle should have looked to them and said,
huh, I like what you did there.
I'm going to try that.
So interesting for Vegas, they're 16, 6, and 10.
So some extra time, they have 12 regulation victories.
The flames have 11.
But they have 10 more points and sit atop the Pacific Division standings.
Is there anything there with them getting fortunate in extra time or?
I don't know if you get fortunate.
You have to be skilled to win in extra time.
I've not paid a bunch of attention to Vegas because I think that Vegas is a good squad.
They've got I call.
They've got Marner.
They've got.
I sometimes wonder about the goaltending, but they've won with the goaltending.
It's,
just like you trust Seattle to be, who are these guys?
I trust Vegas to be a good team.
Like, they're a good, solid team.
I don't think they're the top of the league this year or even this conference.
but they're hard to beat.
Yeah, they have a lot of skill.
If they want to get on a run, they can beat a lot of teams.
So are you, what's overtime?
It's three on three.
It's high skill hockey.
And then they're going on it.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah.
Mark Stone, 25 points in 16 games.
He's missed some time.
And he had one of those personal start of the season point streak.
So it wasn't a start of the season because he'd miss some hockey games.
But in the games that he played in from the start of the season, he was getting points every single night.
It may have actually just snapped.
It just ended a couple nights ago against Columbus.
He had no, he did not get a point.
It's the only game this season that he's played that he hasn't gotten a point.
So he's a lot of things.
things. He's kind of, you know, he's
very expressive.
He's in his face. He's not, he's got
making braces all the time.
6.3, 2.10. He's 33. He gets hurt.
He misses a lot of time. He goes in the IR. People get
wound up. They lose their shit. He comes back
at the playoffs. Plays very well. That's the, that's what you
need to know about, uh, about Mark Stone.
Jack Eichel, 41 points, 31 games, 12 goals.
Mitchie Marner, point-of-game guy,
playing 20 minutes a night, plus 10.
So again, he's getting a pointy game and just playing.
Just playing.
Oh.
Just plan.
Barbichev.
I just want to stay on this topic just for a second,
just because it's interesting to me,
because I've not heard Marner's name this year.
Yeah.
Weird.
Why would that be?
Because he's still a point of game, you said, right?
Yeah.
still quite a game it's interesting i heard a lot about them in the past year yeah it's if you can win there
if you can win there it's great how smiley is he i think he liked being a leaf but i think now
that he's gotten away from it he's like what the was i putting up with this shit for i just he
and he couldn't hide it he was he had personal agendas like the media was obviously really hard on him
And then he got snippy with media.
And then he was, well, you guys this and oh, you guys can write whatever.
It was just every day.
It was so it was just an adversarial relationship with everybody.
It's just fighting every single day.
I don't know.
But that's my guess is between the weather and life.
And he's probably got a great house and a beautiful pool.
And the people are.
Are we golfing out of all the time?
Yeah.
Are we golf?
Oh, we're going to the pool.
Okay.
Yeah.
We're going to the sphere to watch spring.
or something.
I'm sure it has to be.
Life has to be tremendous for Mitch
Martin.
So awesome.
So awesome.
And to watch how their fumble the season in
Toronto, even better.
Oh, this problem.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Sorry, guys.
I got out of here for you.
Yeah.
I wonder what somebody like
Austin Matthews thinks about it.
You know,
what he thinks is exactly what
who left.
What we think?
I think it's what Goddrow and Kachuk and Lindholm thought with their buddy, Benny,
with Florida, and they're like, hey, wait a minute.
Yeah.
You have a fun and you're winning?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah, no taxes.
This is unbelievable.
You guys check this out.
Say, huh?
Well, what the hell?
I'll have what he's having.
How do I get that?
Austin Matthews is on a one-way train out of that.
the town of Toronto
screw this
Marner making
12 million
a season
until 2010
Matthews making 15
taking home
seven
yeah
hey you know what
good on Mitch
he put up with a lot
of shit
for a guy
who's a pretty good
player
and you know what
coming up on the
drinky show
uh
Jay Rosehart
no
Rosie
of course
from the Leafs
uh
Leafs cast
big fan.
We should have to try and remember to bring that up.
Yeah, we might be able to stir that drink.
Yeah.
We'll wait until what about drink four, drink five?
That should be the surprise drink.
Number 10, the Mary Marner.
Yeah.
Yeah, some Marner cocktail.
Yeah, you'd appreciate that.
Yeah, I'll see if I can dig up the, uh, the rants that he's had over the years because
they were duzies.
Yeah, they were duzies.
Speaking of the drink you show, it is coming up, uh, 12,
noon, YouTube.
No sponsorship ties to this one.
No donations.
What is it?
Well, it's dumb.
It's just, it's a free for all.
It's our little Christmas party, if you will.
There will be food.
There will be drink.
And we will do it live on our stream.
10 drinks, not 12.
By depending on how it goes.
Sure, we'll get there.
10 different cocktails.
We invite you to play along.
At home, at the office, wherever you might be.
But it's the fourth annual holiday spirits, barn burner special.
And there's the drinks.
Is there one, which one are you looking forward to and which one is like, I'll do it.
I'm not super pumped for it, but I'll do it.
I can go through all of them.
First one, I like.
It's a starter drink and I like caffeine.
Coffee and something.
Yeah.
The second one I don't like.
The third one, I think, is a terrible follow-up from the second one.
Like, that's a bad.
The holiday rim job is a Caesar.
So we're doing Caesars at Drink 3.
Would you prefer it further down the line or just not at all?
No, I like the Caesar.
If I could get rid of one or the other between the Christmosa's or the holiday rim job,
I get rid of the Mosa.
Okay.
It's, uh, then it gets very rummy, which is fine.
I like all those rums.
That drink, the Santa's S-Jorm.
Real good.
Rum, all ye faithful?
Absolutely.
This is the one we said yesterday.
This is going to cause someone to crater and others to launch.
This is going to be the sixth drink is a catalyst to how the rest of your day is going to go.
Missile to Margarita, I will enjoy it.
The one I'm most looking forward to is the ginger all the way.
Yeah.
The eight and nine are my top two in the whole mix.
There you go.
The jingle juice,
and it will be a refreshing vodka punch,
cranberry citrusy type of a deal.
And we're not sure what the Christmas surprise will be.
We could plan it or not,
but it's going to be something.
It might be a bartender's choice.
We'll see.
how it goes. Maybe we'll double back on one.
So yeah, the dark and stormy,
dark rum, ginger beer,
and lime. So you do have some
citrus in there with the lime.
I don't mind that one. Again, that picture
doesn't do it. I know. It kind of has a
milkshaky vibe, but whatever. Yeah, dark and stormy
almost kind of looks like an iced tea.
Once you give it a stir.
Yeah.
Don't be afraid of the Santa Claus.
Don't be afraid of it.
No, it's just, there's a few drinks already had,
and then you're doing a four-ounce or,
okay.
The Santa Claus, my buddy Greg, he came up with it,
and it's, I don't know if it's science or what it is,
but it's a little bit of vodka,
a little bit of Pink Whitney,
and then you just top up your glass with some white claws,
It just kind of all balances and cycles,
it cancels itself out.
But, uh, water.
Yeah, it's just like, uh, it might have the opposite effect.
It just kind of soberes you off.
Just mix one in.
Yeah, it could be an accelerator.
We'll see.
We'll see how it goes.
So you can play along at home.
You can, if you, you want to use them all, you want to use some, you want to exchange,
or you just want to watch us be stupid.
Then you can do all that live at noon.
coming up as it's already Friday, December 19th.
The Christmas, the holiday spirit special.
Got some guests lined up.
There will be a few people joining us in studio.
There will be some who will be coming on over the interwebs kind of do.
Yeah, yeah.
Jack and I put in some time yesterday afternoon,
getting some cameras figured out and moving some things around.
I heard poor Jackie had a bad experience.
poor guy went
Poor guy went home
Oh
I was looking for some grub
You know yeah
Had some leftover grub
From that wonderful Christmas dinner we had
Yeah yeah
No grub
Should she go
What happened
It was too good to sit in the fridge boom
I got lots of people stay in here
He's a giver
Who's eating all your
Oh I got the mom
The step brothers
The stepdad
The dogs
the dogs are digging in, so.
You got to write your, like this
old bag, I didn't go to college,
but apparently guys used to write their names on.
Yeah, you names on the box.
Yeah.
You got to own it.
Don't touch.
F off.
No, we're all getting.
That's a good sharing, Jack.
That's the spirit of the season,
but you know, where you go with that.
No drags today.
I mean, we don't need to tell you.
We're doing a special kind of a show here
here for you today.
may have a Drager appearance on the Drinky show.
We'll see how that goes.
But Dregs is a good boy.
He is out in Saskatchewan still.
He's out traversing the prairie.
He's out.
Safe because it's some weather.
It's supposed to be very winter across the prairies.
It's cold.
It's all right, though.
I got the fire on.
Big fire.
Now that's a fire.
And when Dreger joins us and noodles,
they are on the Crystal Waters,
plumbing and heating insider hotline.
We love Crystal Waters.
They've been a great, you know what?
They've been an unbelievable partner of ours.
They came on board about a year ago.
Maybe it's a little bit longer.
I'm bad with when you get old.
You don't realize how fast time goes.
But we brought on Crystal Waters and they've been great.
They're at your house doing stuff.
They're at my place doing stuff.
They donated that furnace and air conditioner to the top shelf,
Elf had raised like $65, $6,600 for the closer to home.

Got noodles on next week.
Is that this weekend he's doing the Rob Ray thing?
I was trying to do the math.
I think it's,
I think it's very close to when he's supposed to come on our show.
Yeah, I hope it'll go right.
The 23rd.
So that's the day.
Tuesday.
Well, T's and peas.
T's and peas.
It'll be fine.
Let's do the,
uh,
I got the thing here.
It's weird without having pinnings.
here. I'm having to talk more.
Usually when he starts
going off, you've got time to get your notes together
and figure out what you do. What's that? Oh, yeah.
Okay. Get my. Crystal
Waters will read coming up and
a little different. A little different.
It's time for the Peter Report.
It's a presentation of Village
Honda.
The touring CRV
they've got the pilot and the CRV
are
they're ready for. That's what this is all about.
It's like they're built for Calgary.
They're good out there that got the good ground clearance for when you get the snow.
They're very sturdy and nimble when situations and the roads are a little bit treacherous when you got ice and snow.
But yet if you're cruising around, comfort, quiet ride and reliability.
There's nothing like a Honda from Village Honda and visit the bottom line at Village Honda.com.
Calgary Flames, victorious 4 to 2 over the Cracken.
a pair of goals for Michael Backland.
Matt Coronado gets his 11th,
Asim Codry's 8th on the power play,
the eventual game winner,
as they would get three in the third to erase a 2-1 deficit.
Impressive.
I mean, we've talked about it.
No need to really go on too deep about it.
They've got Vegas coming in on Saturday.
Then it's a trip to Edmonton on the 23rd, Christmas,
and then hosting the Oilers on the 27th.
We can tell you about some of the games from last night.
Start in Edmonton.
The Oilers, not in Edmondson.
They were in Boston.
They beat the Bruins by a score of 3 to 1.
It's a good little role for the Oilers Retro, 6-1 and 1 in their last 8, but not great news.
They made a trade about a week ago to bring in a new goaltender to upgrade the goaltender position.
Tristan Jari, it's game two, game three.
It's not, it's been about a week.
second period with just under four minutes left.
There's a TV timeout.
There's a stoppage.
And as they're in commercial break, it's, uh, there's Tristan Jari.
Maybe he's needed, need a water.
So he, uh, get a towel?
Got a bathroom break or something went awry in the crease before they broke for the
commercial break.
And, uh, the pick, pick daddy had to, uh, grab his stuff.
He's like, oh, did you want some water?
No, I'm done.
Grab your mask, pal.
So here it is as he comes across
right there, you see him kind of
It's going to be the right leg, given on, is it?
Well, it's that or the left.
Where he tries to push and he can.
Yeah.
It's something in the groinel region
from our expert analysis.
I asked afterwards,
Chuck Knoblock said, we're not sure.
How long?
it's going to be. We do not know.
McDavid, though,
shorthanded goal and an assist.
22 points in his last eight.
He's now tied with the Nate dog.
Yeah, I tried to say it quick, so it would just blow up.
22 points in eight games.
Oh, eight?
Yeah, he's tied for the league lead now with McKinnon.
Oh, Christ sakes.
Does he have the pouty face anymore?
No, it looks like he's celebrating and having fun.
Fuck.
58 points.
in 35 games.
What is happening to the BCE?
They're trying to ruin it up there.
I know.
Yeah, I know.
Are you sick?
No, I was just, what's happening?
You knew this was going to come.
They weren't to be,
what, you get sick or are you talking about the oilers?
Oilers.
Oh, okay.
No, I'm fine.
They weren't going to miss the playoffs.
They weren't going to be down to the bottom five or six.
But you saw him in Dryside with their pouty faces.
I don't know.
It was wonderful.
Just so good for so long.
22 points in eight games?
Yeah, weird that they're now winning.
6-1-1 in your last eight.
And in those eight games, McDavid has 22 points.
And I don't think the German is that far behind.
God, he's good.
Stay positive, deed.
Keep go.
Elsewhere, Montreal 4-1 over Chicago.
Zach Bullduke.
The goal is.
You need that bettered kid.
Yeah.
They're bettered without them, with them.
No, with.
Yeah.
Habs have turned around a little bit, three one and one in their last five.
Is Jack on this thing?
Yeah, I'm here.
Hello?
Yeah.
Seven straight losses for the Pittsburgh thing.
Yeah, it's not looking good boys.
It's really not looking good.
What about Dan the man?
What about Dan the man?
He's getting crushed online.
He's making stupid lineup decision.
taking Kindle off the power.
Yeah, he's overcoaching.
No malcon.
No malcon either.
What about Brazzers?
And Ricky racks.
They need Malkin, I guess.
I don't know.
They're not chipping in.
What was the final three, nothing?
Four.
Four.
Four zip.
Brady Kachuk two goals,
ends of one, three of four.
All mark shut out.
Seven straight defeats.
And again, of those seven,
it feels like they're giving up goals
at an incredible rate, Harry.
Mm-hmm.
That leads against Santos.
Hey, we showed it the other day.
It was not great.
Not great.
Yeah, they had some really bad losses,
and now they just look defeated.
Yeah.
Sorry, Jack.
So I don't know.
I'll swear.
The Kings beat Tampa Bay 2 to 1.
No cooch.
He was sick.
He was sick.
He's not feeling good.
Stay home?
I feel great.
See what he did?
He stayed home.
Stayed home.
Vasilevsky back after missing eight games, they do lose.
It's Kempe with both goals for the Kings, the end of four games, Skid.
The Washington's beat Toronto, Craig Barubi, not happy afterwards.
Logan Thompson, Calgary Kid, 22 saves, his second shutout in his last four games.
Hello, Canada.
Hello, Canada.
Chick-ch-dog with two goals as well for Washington.
I think it's a chick-cat.
The chick-cat, a pair of goals.
Leaves have lost three of four.
Good for them.
Yeah.
In Minnesota, the Wild just keep winning.
5-2 over Columbus,
Boldie and Caprizov both with one goal and two helpers.
The Wilde have won six in a row.
They're really easing in Quinn Hughes.
Tonight, or last night, sorry,
32 minutes and two seconds in ice time.
32.
The most in a non-old.
overtime game this year.
Go and play, kid.
And the goaltender, the
wall of St. Paul,
Jesper Wollstett, 13
games to get 10
wins. That's the fastest any
wild rookie has done that.
It's a lot of wins.
It's a lot of wins and not many games.
A short amount of time.
The Buffalo Sabres rat.
Four in a row.
Look out. Tage Thompson,
goals in five straight. They beat Philly
five to three.
What's happening?
To me?
No, it's the same.
Well, they get that there's mental clarity
and direction.
Is that what it is?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Mental clarity and direction.
Yeah, they had a couple days in Seattle
in between games.
They went, I see.
Spat some of that mind clearing substance.
Sure.
might need some of that on Saturday
might be a good idea
elsewhere
J.T. Miller, another overtime goal
had one on Saturday
against the Montreal Canadiens? A lot of them yesterday
Yeah. It's okay.
We talk about a lot of guys. You do a
highly successful sports show
you talk about a lot of people. Some of them are going to
rise up and bite you. And right now
J.T. Miller.
took a big chunk out of your hoop
2-1
get them on your juice
Blues get a point
three points three points three points
the Rangers
two three and two in their last seven
the Blues they don't like extra time
Vegas loves it
Blues 0 and 8
when they head into the overtime shootout
blues oh and 8
come on blues get some points
get some points boys
once better than none but you can pick it up
and Dallas
versus San Jose.
I know it's frustrating.
We'll figure it out.
Who is the guy that used to,
there was a goalie in Pittsburgh
used to like him, Jack.
Our boy.
Our boy.
Yes, our boy.
Needled dick.
Needled dick.
Needled dick.
Nadelcovich, right.
That's who it is.
He's in a San Jose jersey now, I believe.
Let's see how the sharks
did against the Dallas Star.
That was one of the late games last night.
Pass for Oscar.
Back.
Couldn't get to it.
Nadelcovich gives it away and they score.
Justin Ritzkobie.
And it's for $2.
I mean, the play is one thing.
Like that the stars aren't busting a gut laughing is credit to them.
Needle Dick's body language is tremendous.
he takes a look
yeah well I'll watch it one more time here on the
on the replay it's almost as though
old 21 wasn't expecting that pass
oh right at the gut
wind very yeah oh weird
here you go buddy what
wait a what are you what no
that's that's right play
no it's going to rip it hard
if no one's open
okay and let it just
I just the little the little glove tap
it's good
well well fuck
Dallas wins at 53
I didn't check to see if there was an empty netter I guess I could
that end up being like a
it's a big goal apparently
did you watch any football
yeah you did we were talking about
it's a bit of a banger on Thursday night football
it was exciting but I was nerve wracking as well
because I felt like I had
my pick-all kind of locked in.
The Rams?
Who, did we all have the Rams?
You took the over under.
Yeah.
I took the over, right?
Yeah, you took the over.
Nailed the over.
Crushed it, Dean. Yes.
Absolutely nailed it.
Want to know.
Rams had a 16.4th quarter lead.
That's a lot. Yep.
And the fourth is, that's the last quarter.
So, except not.
So, except not on this night.
the Seahawks, they roar back.
They got a weird two-point conversion.
Yeah.
A.J. Barner touched down the tight end.
They go for two because they're down by so many points.
And they say afterwards, well, this has failed two-point conversion.
They're like, no, well, hang on, hang on a sec.
Let's take a look at this because does darn know, is this a backwards pass?
Because it's knocked down by the RAM player.
and then it kind of rumbles into the end zone.
Zach Sharbonnet picks it up,
and he's not even thinking that the ball's across the line.
But okay, so wait a sec.
After an exhaustive review,
the quarterback threw a backward pass,
which is recovering in the end zone by the offense.
All year long.
So yeah, tie game.
Staff Daddy to Pooka and Nakua.
Who has him in fantasy?
Oh, boy. Puka?
Yeah. I don't know. I'm no longer playing.
200 and some words? Why?
So seven point game, pass interference call, Cooper Cup reception.
Jackson, Smith, and Jigba. Touchdown. 37. 36th.
They need the win. They're going for two. Oh, geez. Oh, good touchdown. I got it.
3837
Seahawks win it
on the two point try
in overtime
a banger of a football game
in Seattle
Pocanakua 40 points
is that what it ended up being
40 points
225 yards 12 receptions
2 touchdowns
Stafford three touchdowns
457 yards passing
4.57.
I don't mind telling you.
I'm playing Merle in a draft that
we're in the semis.
And he's been very mouthy.
As he is.
Stafford on his bench.
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah, I was, because I knew he had him
and he's been so good for him this year.
It's like, this is the shit.
I'm taking it rating the 31 points, not good.
on the bench.
Oh.
Who did he start?
C.J. Stroud
and Bo Nix coming up.
So I mean, it's still fine.
And for myself,
I was cursing.
JSN, who I have as one of my receivers,
had nothing in the half,
like first half, zero catches,
zero and this is good.
Perfect. Thanks.
The touchdown in overtime?
I made noise.
Sitting down here,
getting had the game on on the TV.
There was some, yeah, it was good.
Good luck, Dean.
Thanks, Paul.
Appreciate that.
And good luck to you, sir.
Mm-hmm.
Who are you playing?
No clue.
Come on, dude.
Did you know there was a game tonight?
Did you have anybody in this?
No, thankfully I didn't.
Or maybe I wish I did, but I didn't.
I needed to the guy and play.
I'm in the consolation something.
Great.
Doesn't matter.
That's the one you want to be in.
I've experienced second.
Yeah.
How do you even find it on this?
There it is.
Stupid thing.
Okay.
Well, you're playing Pat Steinberg.
Didn't know he was part of it, but.
Zero, zero.
After the Thursday nighter, he did have Zach Charbonnet, but he's on his bench.
The Buffalo D, you're playing against the Buffalo D and Josh Allen.
Yeah, I didn't like seeing Josh Hound, and I don't want Josh to beat me up.
Yeah.
Well, maybe he won't.
He's playing Cleveland.
Or maybe he will.
Anyway, that's the Pinder Report for Village Honda.
They have the winter ready, used SUV event.
It's on now.
They've got the brand new ones.
It might be the time.
You might be.
You miss another fence you've been thinking about it.
Maybe you're not even thinking about it.
Now's the time.
Village Honda.
Anthony is a tremendous human being.
Might see him at the old holiday spirits.
He usually comes by, says hi and jets off.
We'll love that village Honda.
Good people up there.
If you're in the market for a for a Honda vehicle.
Get yourself a Christmas gift.
Yeah, that's what you got there.
And then slam those doors.
Fump.
That's the sound they make.
Fump.
Why are you playing this?
It's loud in here, I can't hear you, but horrible night for the tank.
Sorry.
Like jinxed anything.
Well, as long as they beat, as long as they win on the 23rd and 27th, that's all worth it.
Although, now it's going to be ticker or not Jerry, because he got, I am old.
I had a f-m-old moment tonight.
I pulled my groin for the first time ever
coaching 10 year olds.
I'm not happy about this.
I'm in denial about my actual age.
I'm old.
Yeah.
And you also said tonight,
so you've blown any attempt of us
trying to pretend that this is a live show
on a Friday morning.
Right.
We were going to talk about that.
Yeah.
So good job.
What a brunch you're having.
What a brunch you're having.
Yeah, you're on a great run.
You've ruined.
you've ruined the rebuild, you've ruined Mission to Kenna, you've ruined this.
Yeah, probably my fault, all those things.
And your groin.
And your groin.
Not happy about my groin, really not happy.
And no one wants to hear about it.
No, I know.
What do you do for a gruel?
That's a trick.
No, do you throw the tiger bomb on there, fix it right up?
Really?
Yeah.
Hot, then cold.
All right, well, I'm going to stop ruining things.
Should I go away?
What do I do now?
It's too late.
I'm already heard everything.
Kind of stepped in it.
That's good.
That's good.
There's Ryan Pinder.
Last night,
joining us last night,
this morning.
He's such a turd.
That went about as good as I could have thought it.
That's about how I thought it was going to go.
Hearing loss clinic,
we may have a Rhodesie.
I mean, I've been messaged.
I was like, hey.
I got a lot to do and I have in-laws in town, but maybe I can do it.
I'm like, oh, you have in-laws in-laws in-town?
We'll see at about 2 o'clock then, for sure.
You got a big meeting.
It's one of the, you know, your sponsor on this on this show and you got, we got to hammer out some big details on 2026.
You can't be going home and hang with the in-laws.
So it would be nice to see Roezy.
Either way.
quality quality people
Travis and Sabrina
they are just some of the best
that our city has to offer
in terms of philanthropy
and giving back
and also the best of what they do
which is helping you
deal with hearing loss
or impairment.
It's empowering to be more socially active
like Pinder.
Be like Pinder.
That's not their tagline at all.
More connected with loved ones,
confident in all aspects of your life.
The
for these people of all age,
They say, oh, getting old, you got to get hearing aids because you're old.
It's not how it works.
People of all age can suffer from hearing loss.
Maybe you've had some, I think there's been an accident.
Maybe you've had some damage to your hearing issues, especially challenging for kids because
they don't really know what it is that they're looking for.
They don't know how that works.
And studies are showing that health risks like dementia and depression and others have
been linked to untreated hearing loss.
Take our word for it.
It's time to go and have an assessment done if you have not in, say, a year or so.
and I'm betting there's a lot of you who would say I've never been, let alone in the last year.
Hearingloss.ca.
Five loss, hearing loss clinics in Calgary.
The new Chinook location at the corner of McLeod and Glenmore is very convenient.
And there's five in BC if that happens to work for you too.
Helping you hear better is simply their way of helping you live better.
Book an assessment today.
Hearingloss.ca.
The south location is very convenient to when you drop the kids at Cardell.
Yes.
Shaughnessy.
Just go over in Shaughnessy.
It's a thing.
When you have, I guess that's why you'd have five locations,
is to try and, again, help the people.
Don't need you to travel all over the place.
We got one near you.
Well, you saw the roads yesterday or two days ago.
It's snowstorm.
We can't have you just.
Crazy.
About town.
No.
Safety first.
So it's what it's all about.
Bet 365, we have hockey tonight.
Football, a little Saturday football, which is nice.
It's going to be great.
Saturday. Yeah, I'm very happy that
that it is a thing.
Because is it going to be cold?
It doesn't matter. I'm not going to feel good.
I'm going to want a couch,
some sustenance, and some entertainment
and quiet. It actually looks like the temperature
is going to be okay here. What? Yeah.
That cat. Yeah.
Not too shabby, pal.
Let's take a look at what's the hockey slate?
Let's get into that.
For Bet 365, go to the app.
Build yourself a little parley while you're in there.
The parleyes are good.
Same game stuff.
Did we get, uh, did we do the field goals?
I did do the field goals.
I don't know if it, I think it might already be dead.
That POS missed.
Yes, he did.
He did miss.
Yes, he did.
It might already be dead.
That is the worst when your parlays don't make it to Sunday.
Oh, no.
we're good, we're good.
Oh, shoot.
And hit three.
Yeah, we had three.
Okay, we're good.
Yeah.
If that would have cost us,
we're still rolling.
That was a,
I mean,
I'm in for five bucks on that,
Jack.
Shit,
eh.
Yeah.
Well,
we're one for one.
Roll it.
My 15 leg parlay.
Which is,
uh,
which is,
there's a been,
$116,000 dollars.
My $5 dollar wager.
God, I'm one down, 14 to go after the Ram Seahawks go over 43 today.
Last night.
There's a look at the Sked for a Friday night.
Devils are kind of kicking it around a little bit.
They are the road dogs in Utah.
The Jets.
Ew. Tough times for the Jets.
Avalanche, which is one of the best home teams in the world.
What is their home?
I'll take a quick look at here.
avalanche at home are 13.0 and 2.
Is that any good?
That's tidy. They call that tidy.
Yeah. Jets are 7, 9, and 1 on the road.
If that impacts you, maybe that minus 1 and a half,
a little empty netter for the plus 105 might tempt you with the avalanche.
Stars playing back-to-back games.
They were, you saw a old needle dick there giving them gifts.
Not sure if they'll be doing the same in Anaheim.
and the Canucks and the Islanders, the Bo Horvett Bowl.
Exciting.
So that's the five-game sked.
Talking about football on Saturday,
we met our picks yesterday on the other show.
Eagles commanders, I believe it was six and a half,
has now moved to seven for the Eagles as road favorites.
And the Packers and Bears,
can the Bears find a way at home to beat the Packers,
even with some injuries on the other side
the football. Mind you the bears. And I know what? I never thought about this when we were doing our picks.
Roma Dunesay and is Luther Burton also out? Who's catching football? Who's? Poor Caleb. Who's he throwing the ball to?
Bears. Walter Payton is not walking through that door.
They'll fight somewhere. Let's go bears. So those are the two games on Saturday.
3 o'clock, 620. I believe that's, I even believe that's mountain time. Thank you, Bet, 365. Appreciate you.
What a day it can be.
What a day it could be.
I was supposed to go to Flames game too.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
Are you going to?
I'll see how I feel.
Yeah.
I think you're going to feel great by then.
Mm-hmm.
I think you're going to rest up.
You're going to have hydration.
Lake game.
You'll also have that, yeah.
You'll take a mittful of those kind of weird vitamins and stuff that you do.
You'll lay on that.
Bennies.
Yeah.
You'll lay on.
some Matt that shoots light in your.
I got the PMF Matt going.
I got the son of guy.
He's going to have it all fixed up tomorrow.
Nice.
It's a red light therapy.
You're right.
I'll be a fine shape.
You're going to be ready to roll.
You're ready to roll by Saturday.
My nose lights out.
Yeah.
Was it nose or ear?
I can't remember.
Maybe both.
Well, it was your thing.
Ear lights.
I seem to think it was ear lights.
Blue?
Yeah, you had blue ear lights.
Yeah.
And what was it supposed to do?
I have energy blood flow.
Yeah.
Well, it worked because you're.
Look at me.
Look at you.
You're feeling.
Yeah.
You're feeling it.
Well, that's going to do it.
It's going to do it for it to just like that.
Yeah.
Thank God we slid Pindering.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's always good.
I appreciate him coming in.
I do appreciate him coming in.
Feel bad about his groin.
I really hope he'll be a good.
okay.
Or Jerry, same, maybe same.
That's, yeah, maybe.
He's the same doctor.
Yeah.
He really did, he's so swift at taking his oiler shots.
They sometimes, you don't even see them sometimes.
It's just like, it's not until afterwards.
There's a bit of a drive by there, wasn't there?
Oh yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, he hurt his groin opportunity to take a shot at, uh, at the oilers interest and
Jerry.
That's well done.
Jack, how was the show today?
Excellent job, boys.
Yeah.
Really, really good job.
You too, Jack.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Holiday spirits show coming up at noon and then the weekend and Christmas is around the core.
Oh, best Christmas ever.
Oh, can't forget that.
Retro?
Because I don't know.
By next week, it may not be a thing.
This might be the last one.
Either way, that's what I was thinking is this, we've done it for three weeks.
This is the 15th.
Maybe it's a good place to end it on Friday.
It's the recipe for my buns.
It's the bun recipe.
It's, I know what you're thinking.
You're making Christmas dinner and that sort of thing.
I don't have time to make buns.
You don't need long.
The buns don't need to be in the oven for very long.
You can prep it.
You can make the dough and then let it go sit in your office.
Let it go sit in the bathroom.
Let it go sit somewhere else.
It's because it's a double riser.
It's a double riser.
You put all the ingredients together.
You mix it.
You get it into form it into a ball.
let it rise.
When it's kind of doubled in size,
you go in there,
pat it down,
then you get it into your 24 little balls.
They got to rise again,
into the oven,
bake them.
You're going to give this recipe, right?
Not just tell us to make buns.
Let's take a look.
Yes.
There's the recipe.
Two cups.
Do I need to take a picture of this?
I can send it to you.
I send it to Jack.
I can send it to you.
It's the,
The instant yeast, two tablespoons, a quarter cup of sugar, some salt, some soft butter, a couple eggs, flour.
And the melted butter is, as we saw Jack doing at your place on Thanksgiving, is for spreading on top of the warm buns when they come out.
So you take, first thing you do is take your milk.
You wanted it in a room temp, maybe a little warmer.
I'll give it a zip in the microwave just to give it a little bit warm.
and then put your two,
your two tablespoons of yeast in there first
and let it kind of start doing its thing.
After about five minutes or so,
you'll kind of see it starts bubbling.
That's what yeast does.
It starts coming to life.
Then throw in your sugar,
throw in your salt,
throw in the soft butter.
Make sure that's soft,
your two eggs,
and then start incorporating your flour.
You can put all six in.
I kind of go like three,
then four,
then five.
You're going to want to get it
to a,
point where it's just a it's a little bit sticky it's almost kind of that's not quite it's not
coming right off the sides of your if you're using a stand mixer it's not really pulling right off
it's still kind of a little bit sticky put some flour on your on your countertop take it out of
the bowl and then just a little bit of flour on on your fingers sprinkle some and just get it to like
just past the point where it's it's really sticking to your fingers because if you start
putting too much flour in, then it gets too dense, and then your buns aren't soft.
But you do need to be able to, you're going to know it when, when you start doing it.
It's like, I can't, I can't roll this thing.
I can't do anything with this.
It's too sticky.
Put a little more flour on there and just move it around, move it around.
Then once you kind of got it into a ball, put it into a bowl with some, whatever,
cooking oil, whatever in the bottom, cover it, leave it for half an hour.
It's going to double inside.
You're going to come back and be like, whoa, there it is.
Take your hands, go and smush it back down.
You're going to feel like I'm basically just, I'm just canceling everything that's just happened.
That's what you do.
Get it out of the bowl.
This is going to make 24 buns.
So what I end up doing is I take, I've got a little kind of kitchen scale, throw it on there.
Okay, well, it's how much?
Divide that by 24.
And then you can start cutting, and then you know how much each one should weigh.
You can eyeball it, but I'm such an idiot.
I need 24 of these and I'll get done.
No, they all look the same size, same weight.
I've got 22.
Which is not the worst thing in the world.
They're all the same size.
They're all going to cook this, whatever.
24 of them.
Put them in the little balls.
Put it on a 13 by 18 sheet pan.
Parchment paper on the bottom.
You don't need to.
I do.
You can grease a pan, I suppose you want.
Put those suckers, space them out.
375 for 12 to 14 minutes.
Bring them out.
They'll be brown on top.
Slather them with butter.
If you want to put a little kosher salt on the top.
Do the salt.
And enjoy.
If you have any questions, you can DM me.
What was that?
Did I just cut out?
No.
Nope.
Nope, you're good.
That mic cord is awesome.
What a cord you got.
What a cord.
Yeah, what a cord.
And I didn't, I don't have a picture of the buns, sadly.
I guess I should have done that.
I just wanted to make sure I got.
you the recipe.
I'm going to enjoy that recipe.
I may trial run it Saturday.
Yeah.
Well, I'm sitting on the couch.
Sure.
And then be prepared for the real deal.
Come the Christmas day.
Yeah, I do have a photo, actually.
But I'm not so, I had the wrong size pan on that.
Because I'm supposed to kind of, they kind of come together so that when you pull them apart,
They're kind of, you know, together.
It's kind of a together type of deal.
I'll send this one to Jack real quick.
I'll put in the drive real quick here, Jack.
And that's how we can end.
We'll end on a one shot, just a photo of the buns.
Make ahead gravy.
Some buns.
Mm-hmm.
My Saturday is all set.
You know what I need?
I need your stuffing recipe.
That stuffing you made that day was terrific.
Yeah, that's an eyeballer kind of thing.
I don't really.
I know.
That's it.
It sounds arrogant, doesn't it?
I don't know.
I just kind of, I just kind of eyeball.
It's the same thing with, well, how much flour do you use?
To it till it's not sticky.
Well, how's, but you want it to be a little bit sticky, but not, you'll figure it out.
You figure it out.
That's why I'm doing a trial run.
I might do a trial run Tuesday, Wednesday, and like Sunday Monday, all.
And don't be frustrated with, don't be frustrated.
And not saying, do you just everybody.
If it doesn't work out the first time, just do it again.
The ingredients are right there.
You got this, guys.
You got this.
Just a little bit effort.
So these are the buns.
They were not perfect.
I had the wrong size sheet pan.
I had to go and get the different kind of yeast.
I think Pender gave you the wrong numbers.
This is what I think.
Maybe.
I think that's probably what it ended up being.
But right there.
I think that was about 13 minutes.
So there again, on your Christmas dinner,
you do your Turk, you do everything else.
Make those buns, set them aside.
half an hour later, come back, do the rolling, set them aside.
Because it's a double raise.
Then you let, once you roll them and put them on that sheet pan, I didn't say, cover them again with it, whatever, a tea towel or something.
They're going to then raise, come up, they're going to double in size.
And once they're, once they're at the size you want them, you throw them in the oven for about 12.
I can tell you right now, folks, those things are wonderful.
Heavenly.
Jack, I never really heard from you.
Rhett has been very complimentary.
Oh, boom.
I told you the first time I tried them.
These are the best buns.
I've already taken a picture of the recipe and sent it to my mom.
She's listening.
Get on it.
There you go.
Well, I think you're right, Jack.
I think we had a hook of a show today.
I love that food.
With a nice one shot of my buns on the screen.
Let's see you, buddies.
