Starting point is 00:00:14 buddies, let's go. Let's get into it. Barnburner, Boomer Pinder, Warner here on Monday. The penultimate? What's the day today? The hell are you talking about? It's not the penultimate. It's the almost penultimate day of November. Penultimate, penultimate day. Yeah. What is the be the next to penultimate? The ultimate. No, that'd be the other way. Yeah. So this would be before that. Do you want to start over again? No. No, okay. No, it's been a great start. Fuck it. Hey, welcome to the show it's monday it's boomer it's pindra swear as we go uh good to uh good to have everybody plugged in let's like let's take a look here is anybody bitching about the old youtubes we were a couple
Starting point is 00:00:54 minutes behind where's the oh where's the thing wow cob the show hasn't so 22 i'm outraged i don't even know what about but i'm outraged there's retro looking refreshed how was your weekend not refreshing oh but thanks i did sleep in today i got up kids get sent the kids to school with mama bear and went back for a nap, a four-hour nap. Oh, wow. Apparently, I was tired. See, you asked them with the weekend. I'm like, I feel like most Mondays, that's a normal thing to ask.
Starting point is 00:01:22 But really, this is the end of probably a five-day American bender. This isn't a weekend. This is almost a week vacation in that country. Yeah, the last day was a pleasurable early morning wake up for a three-hour drive to Utica. Oh, I feel like you guys need to get to Utica. It is something to see. It is something to see. Now, you've been.
Starting point is 00:01:42 You guys got to get there. No. Through your... We didn't play a lot, almost any team in the Eastern Conference in the American League, the two years I worked in it. But Vancouver had moved their HL affiliate there
Starting point is 00:01:55 from Chicago, I think. Wasn't Utica always a Devils farm team for a long time? Yeah, for a while. The Utica Devils? Yeah, I've never been. I know nothing about it, but it does sound like one of those things,
Starting point is 00:02:06 one of those places. No, good, don't need to go. No. Don't need to go. Other people have been there for you. You don't need to go. You went for us, right? Yeah, thanks, Rhett.
Starting point is 00:02:12 How was all? How was it? and I got to watch two shitty hockey games and then drive home in the dark and the rain. Two. In holiday traffic. Two of them. Road trip, losses, rain, traffic. Oh, holiday traffic.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Maybe they won by too much, hey, Rhett? No, you said losses. Oh, I just heard the S word. Yeah. Yeah, you did. Okay. Not bad. Well, uh, how was your weekend?
Starting point is 00:02:40 A lot of time at the rink. Yep. First tournament for the young men. U-9, very exciting. And a real nice bow, a little icing on the cake, very last shift of the tournament, fourth game. My kid, two hands, another kid right across the torso. Was it your own kid?
Starting point is 00:02:57 Did he hit his brother? No, it was someone on the opponent. His old teammate from last year that I don't think he realized. Did he have it coming? A little, but again, as we explained, you cannot use your stick as a weapon. You can't pretend it's an accident. You're responsible for where your stick is.
Starting point is 00:03:10 And that was like a serious Jose Canseco cut, son. So sit over here. They're durable. So is this the one you knew would be the pain? This is the Unabomber. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mother Teresa was fine.
Starting point is 00:03:24 He gets piled on. Nothing happens. He smiles, skates away. This guy gets red. Pinders got two, two twin, obviously the twin boys, two kids. One of them is very gentle, sweet. It's sweet boy. The other one is sweet, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Monarchal. But he's got, he's wired a little, he's built different. He has built different, as they say. He's wired a little. He's a mean little bastard. He's like the Wolverine. It's good, though. He's a beauty, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Yeah, yeah, it's all good. Tower Chryser, we're in the Tower Chrysor Studios. And you know what? Here's the thing. They aren't ones to boast. Oh, they're humble. About what the, and that's, you know, we love them. It's what we've come to know about them.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Good people. If you want to be treated right, if you want selection and value and prices and good, all of that. But if you just want to go in there and deal with legitimately good people. Good people. It's about Tower Chrysler. And again, this is us here at Barnburner telling you, not them. They won gold for the Reader's Choice Award. Number one, Dodge Ram Jeep Store in the city of Galgary.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Congratulations to everybody. Over 30,000 votes were cast. And Calgary says, hey, Tower, you're our people. Congratulations. The Rinkrats, digging the truck on the weekend. I guess they would. They're like, hey, what's that hashtag I have to use? And I'm taking pictures of the truck. I said, oh, it's parked in that lot and
Starting point is 00:04:50 hashtag nation truck. Yeah. Zip it out there. Get it out there. Spread the word. That's right. So congrats to everybody over a tower. I like it when good things happen to good people, you know? It feels better than the opposite. Yeah. When good things happen to assholes, it's like, damn it. Again, it doesn't it feel like that's always the way? It can feel that way. Because that prick sure needed a break in. Oh, another billion for that asshole. Awesome. Good.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Well, fired out a C bomb there. I did, yeah. That's kind of how it's going. Hang in there. Well, it's time to pivot and change the mood and talk. Yeah, let's get it. I'll get it. Yeah, I feel a lot better now.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Three straight losses, winless in three, however you want to play. I thought you said they just hadn't lost in four. They just won four or five. They lost a bunch. And then it was like, oh, they're good again. And now, yeah. They're 500. They are 500.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Very 500. 9, 9, and 3. And you can see it there. Somebody's done the work. I appreciate that because I was looking this morning. Good work. Someone who did the work. Remember last year, Darrell was very, we want to be top 10 in this and that and this and this and this.
Starting point is 00:05:58 They are not top 10 in any of those right now. You know what they are? They're top six and shots for and shots against, but it hasn't translated at all at the goals, four goals against. And I think that speaks to the issues they're having. They haven't got great coal tending, but their mistakes have been huge. The chances they're allowing too many, too high quality.
Starting point is 00:06:13 How are they ninth and penalty kill at 79%? They're not at 16th. Because power plays are on fire this year, but yeah, that is wrong. Yeah, they're 17th because I, sorry, 16, 79% 16 on 76 tries. Yeah. The power play is 25th at 19.7. And even when it scores, it's not looking good. Like they went one for three against Carolina and you're like, can we decline these?
Starting point is 00:06:41 It just. It's not been great. No, and they certainly don't set up the rest of the next shift or the next period or the momentum. Quite the opposite. Yeah. Yeah. It goes back a couple weeks ago. It just felt like the shot totals were a little bit misleading where a lot of times you watch a team that puts up a ton of shots.
Starting point is 00:07:01 What's the story at the end of the game? How great was their goaltender? Their goaltender stood in his head. He was out of his mind. I don't know that there's been a game in however, what's 9, what's 9, 9, 3? do the math for me. I can't fucking add. Out of those games, how many times have we come in here or talked afterwards about how great the goalie was on the other side? Very little. A little bit, not a lot. I mean, I think probably like the way you'd talk about the big goalie being
Starting point is 00:07:24 good is like, well, it's better than Markstrom, which hasn't been going. Which is also an issue. But you go back. Yeah, but they've also outshot teams a lot too, right? And you're still not saying. The, the disappointing part from me on the weekend was Washington was a team that was ripe for the picking. They're missing six regulars. They're a group that, you know, maybe is a playoff team, but certainly another year older with that core. There were a team that were ready for you. And when you don't play well there, or at least you don't take advantage there, your toughest game of the road trip that we would have called two months ago, third game in four days, second of a back-to-back, really strong systems,
Starting point is 00:08:05 Carolina, usually good goal-tending, deep team. Like, a good effort. doesn't really guarantee anything. It's like, sorry, the moral victory column we're done with here. If you don't take care of business against Washington, now you're in a really tough spot against Carolina. And that's what they were, to the point where you start the period with a power play,
Starting point is 00:08:24 you're down a goal for half the period, and you only get four shots in the whole third. Now, did they create some chances and other goalies? Make some good saves on the trip? Sure. Did they get goalied a bit by Washington? Maybe. I just didn't think they, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:37 outworked Washington and the Kemper stole one. They didn't score one. I thought it was fairly tidy for Kemper. I didn't think it was, that was kind of routine work on route to a shutout, I saw it. Cadry in front and a to Foley drag around.
Starting point is 00:08:52 There's a few chances, but like, it's a shutout. If you can make it work more than that, usually. What do you see in retro? They go five and two in October, four, seven, and three in November.
Starting point is 00:09:02 They'll wrap the month tomorrow against the Florida Panthers, who probably feel like they owe the flames one after a week ago. the scary part is that we are deep enough into the year now, right? It's after American Thanksgiving that you are what you are. Yeah, they're 500 right now. You're a 500 team. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:22 That's what you are. You've played enough games that you could have went this way, should have went that way. We got lucky here. Didn't get lucky. That's, that's all washed out now. It's a normal season.
Starting point is 00:09:34 You've played enough games. It's not a small sample size. you're a 500 team and you play that way you don't you don't typically outwork other teams sometimes you do you do show up to most of the games and play yeah absolutely you do have a decent lineup your team isn't outclassed most nights that's true your goaltending is good yeah it hasn't it's good hasn't been great but good league wide league yeah but league but league but league wide my point is exactly that is it is what it is you are what you are you're you're not great goaltending because you haven't shown it in a quarter of a season like you're deep enough now to go
Starting point is 00:10:21 this is just what you are and you can't say the goaltending we got great goaltending because the goaltending isn't great you can't say we're offensive juggernauts because we don't score enough goals you can't say we have been unlucky on the penalty or the power play because you don't score on the power play. You don't generate chances on the power. It's not a small sample size anymore. The flames are what the flames are. They're a 500 team.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, and I think there's a lot of teams in that spot. Florida's, everyone's, look how good Kachshund. They're on the outside looking in. Edmonton's one point better in the exact number of games played as Calgary. St. Louis is on the outside looking in. Washington and Pittsburgh are in unfamiliar territory. I think most of these teams will be better than what they've been so far. but it is to the point where it's like, okay, every team you're going to find a 10-game run
Starting point is 00:11:10 where you're 500 or worse. Even the Stanley Cup champs love a 10-game run where they don't look great. You're talking about the quarter pole the season now. We're at a point where I think back to two weeks ago, and you think there's a lot wrong with their game right now. The scoring's going to come around and the goaltending will be better and the special teams this and this guy's going to, but as you say, you're at a point now where I feel the same way.
Starting point is 00:11:32 I feel like they should be scoring more and the goaltending should be better, but it hasn't been. So what is it? Am I out to lunch on it? I thought the goaltending was better this road trip. I mean, once you get past Tampa, I thought better. I like Vladars two starts. I really do. I know.
Starting point is 00:11:47 And that's the collective. I mean, Markstrom, since Florida hasn't had a bad, bad one. Again, we're trying to talk about 17th place goaltending here. Well, I was going to say, to Rett's point, I feel like their goaltending's been good. I agree with you. And then you go looking this morning, Markstrom is, he's got a 303, over three goals again,
Starting point is 00:12:10 and an 889 save percentage. That's not good goaltending at all. And I think to be fair to, you know, it is a significant sample, but if I have to get you to pick whether the numbers would be better or worse than that at the end of the year, which way you're siding on?
Starting point is 00:12:26 Like his body works huge, and it wasn't like he was playing behind a defensive juggernaut in Vancouver. He's got to get better. He's paid to be better. his top four Vezna vote getter, two of the last three seasons, he is better than these numbers. It's time he shows it.
Starting point is 00:12:42 And the team in front of them, it's time they tighten up with the awful sloppy mistakes. Like the Dylan Deubei giveaway that leads to the first goal. And this is where it's so confusing because if you say, okay, here's a Daryl Sutter team, close your eyes, tell me how they play, you'd be like, oh, okay, well, they're going to be defense first. They're going to work their tails off.
Starting point is 00:13:00 They're not going to give up much. They're going to have great goaltending numbers. And they're not going to be sloppy. and half of those missed the mark, if not more, when you talk about the first quarter of the year with these guys. The number of chances they give up are completely out of whack with the number of shots. Like the number of shots they give up, they're top six in the league, I think, top five in the league. And yet, you're like, why are there so many great A's happening here?
Starting point is 00:13:25 Why are all these breakdowns occurring? And I get that they've used a lot of D and the lines have been shuffled a bit, but DERL teams should be better than this defensively. And there's been changes. on the team. Sorry, all I was going to say is, as far as the defensive side of the game, Cichuk and Godro were not Selky guys. No lie. They were great, but it's the one year, right? There should be no excuse right now for why this team is hemorrhaging chances and being so slot. The only thing I'll give them a bit of an excuse for is that they've had one pair all year
Starting point is 00:13:58 and everything else has been shuffled because of injury and you've played your 7, 8, 9 guys in the org. but I mean still you need to see better like where does mackenzie weger play you are like you got to figure that out by now hell defenseman though right you are NHL defense well the 7-8-9s you could argue they aren't I mean is Dennis Gilbert one hey but is de Simone one is Mackey one but oh look at the problem again with what where do they slot in on other teams in the NHL are they and like there's going to be teams with less quality defensemen than some of those right like You're right. But whose number six, seven defensemen are studs?
Starting point is 00:14:39 No one. Yeah, I get that. Like no one has depth that your sixth, seventh defensemen are cornerstones of your organization. Like, let's not be foolish. Your sixth seventh defensemen are always this caliber of defensemen. Well, I am. And actually, Michael Stone has done more than we would have ever imagined as your sixth defense.
Starting point is 00:14:58 And he's there seven of Shillington's here. Like that's how deep you are down the line here. So I just I can't buy into that. Well, they haven't had. I know you're trying to make a reason for maybe them not playing well defensively, but I don't buy into that reason. Like that's, I don't. Sure, Tanav was out for some.
Starting point is 00:15:19 But, but there's enough of a sample size with Tanav in, right? I don't buy the reason that, well, we've had a few injuries on defense. We've had to play Gilbert. Well, and the thing about, play Gilbert then. Then we should be giving the coaches shit. Don't play them. Like if he's not good enough,
Starting point is 00:15:36 don't put them in line. They have three of their top five, D.O. That was three of their top six for a while. That was a challenge. But they're through that now. With Daryl teams, it's about units of five.
Starting point is 00:15:45 It's about a team philosophy on how you play the game. And that's not Dennis Gilbert's fault, right? It's not D. Simone's fault. There are turnovers and play through the neutral and into the defensive zone by forwards. not even defense as a as a group they just they're it's not even a buy-in thing it's it's
Starting point is 00:16:07 very like what we have come to expect and know from this this coach and this I wonder if I wonder if they're almost squeezing it a little bit how many times this guy's getting it on the wall in their own end and it goes to nowhere right like it goes to nowhere you get it the d gets it up to the to the winger on the wall and it's coming back down into their zone again like It's it's dead. And I wonder if guys are nervous now because they F F'd it up early in the year and Sutz reamed him out and said, we can't do it. Right. Now you get the puck on the wall and you're squeezing.
Starting point is 00:16:42 I got to get out. And it's, anyway, I don't know. It's again, it's a, you're in the NHL. You should be able to. I watch 10 year olds and 11 year olds and 13 year olds get the puck on the wall and turn it over. I get used to it. Numbers. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:57 It's these guys are in the NHL. like Luch shouldn't be turning the puck over when he gets a puck on the wall, when on a breakout. Make a play. Yeah. And the awkward party is if you talked about another team and like, oh, this team's weakness is this. Well, how could they solve it?
Starting point is 00:17:16 They got some kids light in the American League on fire, like leading the league in scoring. Well, let's get into that because I was going to say part of sometimes you have these issues and they're masked because you're scoring your way out of it. You're getting over bad goal tending or defensive. miscues because you're scoring enough. I did not expect them to have these type of scoring issues. You knew that the scoring was probably going to go down.
Starting point is 00:17:41 That top line had so much offense. But there are some major, major black holes on this team. Hubert O started okay. Then he's been better the last little bit, but it's still eight points in his last 12. That's not bad. Codry had a great start and he slowed down a little bit. Manjapani. Can't buy one.
Starting point is 00:18:05 He has nothing. He's got one point in six games, one goal in 17 games. And what used to be a bonus when you got offense from a guy like that, he's now being paid and relied upon to produce. And he's not. Dube had a couple and he's, I mean, he's being paid. You expect a little bit there. and there's very little there.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Lindholm has been quiet for the last week or so. The good news is you've got two Adam Rajikas. Check out the lines here. First line and center and fourth line. That's unbelievable. I just didn't expect them to struggle quite to this degree. And the power play, I guess, is part of that. They've got the 25th ranked power play in the National Hockey League.
Starting point is 00:18:50 That's just their 25th goals for per game. Yeah. Well, and that's where you make up, right, for scoring a won. suppose, right? Like if you're not getting the brakes five on five, the power play is supposed to be the spot where, okay, at least we can make up for it now. And yeah, it's death valley.
Starting point is 00:19:13 So it's kind of fan porn. What are your, who can we bring in? Who can you bring in either by way of trade or through the farm system? And Jacob Pellche has been a name. There was thought maybe he would, 10 for a spot on the team, did not have a good camp, went to the American League. His hit stride again.
Starting point is 00:19:36 And Matthew Phillips is a name that we keep hearing for a good reason. He had another, what, three-point game yesterday. He's leading the American hockey league in scoring. At what point do you have to give this guy, not just does he deserve it? Oh, it'd be good for him. You need help. Mm-hmm. at what point do you bring this guy up?
Starting point is 00:20:03 I mean, I think that's a great question. At what point would Daryl do it? At what point would the GM like to see it? At what point, I mean, I think those are very different things. To think that you've got a guy that's probably been the best offensive creator in the American Hockey League for two, three years. And he's had one meaningless game in the NHL in a throwaway lost end of the season. He might not be an NHL guy at all.
Starting point is 00:20:32 He might go over and lead the KHL in scoring and make a half million euros the rest of his career and be a star over there. But you can't say he's not going to work here because the only game we saw, which meant nothing, he actually looked pretty good in. But how does he not get more of a sniff than that when you can continually trot out the Lewis, Richie,
Starting point is 00:20:52 Luchich, Rooney types where you have no ceiling there. You know exactly, you know, as good as they can be, is very met. Why don't you know more about this guy at the NHL level? Ret, you're muted. No, you've muted your mic, Retro. I don't know how I do. There you go.
Starting point is 00:21:17 I did. How, where is he playing? Because that's the other problem I have is it's like, yeah, bring them up. Peltier, whoever, whoever you're deciding. I'm sick of watching what, what I've been watching. We need help. We've got to change things. And sure.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Where's he playing? Well, like physically. No sense bringing. Well, I'm just saying, you know what happens to these guys when they come up? They put them on a line with Luchich and Lewis. Yeah, no, that's fair. What the hell are they going to do with that? Right.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Like, so if you're going to do it, certainly you're going to be smart enough to go, okay, there's no sense bringing Peltche up and playing him with Lewis and Luchich. It just doesn't make sense. Not fair. Where are you, like, where are you, you got to play him somewhere that can have success. And if you're not willing to do that, and I don't know what they are, then how do you find out? He's playing top line opposite wing is Phillips with Zahorna in the middle at this point and has lit the league on fire. And I think there's room in the top nine, a squeeze guy in.
Starting point is 00:22:26 And counterpoint to that is if you, if your answer to your woes is a guy, do you expect Matt Phillips to come in and turn the team around? No. But that can't be the only reason a guy ever advances from the American Hockey League. Yeah, it's not about one guy saving the season. It's about can I get 20% more production from this slot on the lineup? If you can make slight upgrades all over the roster, away you go. If he's a better forward in the top nine, then, you know, Adam Rajitska may prove out to be. And he's been on a nice run.
Starting point is 00:22:56 But, I mean, it took them a while before they gave him a try in the top nine. It looked like they're a top nine guy shy. The answer is probably. for the guys that are here to pick it up. That's Daryl's answer for sure. I would like to see Matthew Phillips as much as anybody else. And do I think that it's going to turn the team around?
Starting point is 00:23:17 No, I don't. The answer is for Manjapani and Dube and everybody else to start playing better, to start scoring at the very least. The Manjipani one is troubling. I, I just keep beating the same drum. Even when he wasn't scoring,
Starting point is 00:23:34 he was contributing. You love the way he played. played and it just found the puck found him the puck found him all the time and right now the guy can't buy one it's it's wow quite a whole i don't even think it was about the i don't know if i would describe it even as the puck finding i'm sure he was around he was scoring he was a prick to play against he's not a prick to play against right now what andrew manjapani needs to do is i don't know who they even play the next game but whoever it is go run the goal and get punched go go go get punched in the face go run the be be kachuk go run the goal and get punched in the face and get
Starting point is 00:24:11 into it well he did to a play against chuck it's perfect great then punch matthew on the face too like whatever but that's what man japani needs he quit quit playing soft quit playing thinking oh it was sucking your thumb thinking that oh i'm not getting points so nobody likes me go and do the other things that we loved about you go out there and get gritty because that was part of what the appeal for manjapani was yeah even when he's not scoring he's he's annoying guys and he's in their face and he's playing hard we ain't saying that right and some nobody's saying man is he he's really being a pest out there guys are to the same level yeah and sometimes it is almost kind of like not run the goal again i i
Starting point is 00:25:02 know you almost i think you're kind of literally meaning run the goalie But I think in a way for a guy like him, you almost need to do that, don't you? Because that stuff, it's not going to manufacture itself. You have to go into a game and just decide, I may get suspended. There might, something might happen tonight. What did he fold up the other day by the net? He was first guy on him, like, stick on his neck. I mean, I don't see him as being super peripheral.
Starting point is 00:25:24 It's just not as noticeable as it was before. And looking at where he's at last year, he had two at a quarter shots per game. He's under two this year. That doesn't sound like a huge number. It's a quarter of a shot of a game. that all adds up. And then you mix in that his career shooting percentage is 16%. He's at less than half that.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Let's do some luck. And are the chances as high quality? Probably not. But he's also, this is the lowest he shot in his career at the NHL level by a mile, almost two to one margin. And that would explain the back doors behind the goal in out of the side. You know, how did it hit the goalie and not bounce in? It sticks to his pad.
Starting point is 00:26:01 But, I mean. So are you saying just. keep going and it'll tell? No, I'm not. I'm just trying to put some context as behind what we're seeing, but also like what the data is telling us, which is he's been really, he's not shooting it nearly as good as he normally does,
Starting point is 00:26:15 half the rate of the puck's going in for his career, never mind last year. So it's tomorrow. I think he's terrible. There it is, yeah. Tomorrow starts off a five-game home stand. It's Florida, then, Montreal, Washington, Arizona. Too long at home.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Oh, my God. And the Minnesota wild. is how that's going to go. Oh, the road trip's too long, the homestands too. This is brutal. These guys can't get a break. See what I'm talking about 2022. Everyone outraged.
Starting point is 00:26:48 We found what Rett's outraged at. The whole team should. Damn you, Batman. That's true long of a homestand. Too long of a road trip. Too long of a homestand. Do you want to be on planes more? No.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Okay. We need to get out of town. So how do you solve this Rubik's Cube then? You don't want to travel as much, but their homestands of road trips are too long. Rets on it. He'll figure it out. Once he gets paid the Gia money, he'll tell us the solution. So tomorrow night is the first of that five-game homestand. It's Florida, it's Kachuk.
Starting point is 00:27:21 And we've been telling you that we were going to do something special with these tickets that we have coming up for tomorrow. Courtesy of Mad Rose Pub. And we have been invited, hey, we got our own YouTube channel, YouTube channel, Flames Nation, YouTube channel coming out. Check the channel. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe. We'll get in touch with you. If you haven't already, so still some time. Go and subscribe to the YouTube channel, Flames Nation, pin us with it, photo, screen, whatever it is. Let us know. And you could be off to that game tomorrow. Courtesy of Madrose Pub up in Royal Ocroy, Royal Vista Place, 15 Royal Vista Place. They've got food and beer. That's a good combo.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Delicious. And sports? And sports. Yeah, it's good stuff. Madrose Pub. Visit their website for takeout. Madrose.com is how you do that. Interesting looking month.
Starting point is 00:28:32 It's homestand. They play Montreal. It's a lot of games. Considering there's a Christmas in there. there. They're playing the 23rd and then the 27. So they get the three days off there. A road trip into California. They got Edmonton, Seattle, Vancouver. Did you see the back-to-back in San Jose two nights apart? Yeah, it's a weird one, right? That's a quirk. They do that with St. Louis and the New Year as well.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Sunday? Sunday night, 8 o'clock. Then Tuesday. Then Tuesday at 8.30. By the way, Tuesday at 8.30? I won't be staying up. That's a good one for you because that's a 10-30 puck drop Sabers time. And then a 10.30 on Thursday. And at 10.30 on Friday. 7.8 jobs. So it'll be lots of stop. What week is that?
Starting point is 00:29:14 I'll take that that week. I'm taking the week off. Oh, good. How time you've got a break? Let's go. Montreal, Washington, Arizona, Minnesota. Then on the road, Columbus, Toronto, Montreal again. Home for two.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Vancouver. Sentless. California. Two against the sharks. Kings, Ducks. Are you just naming? Well, he's listing franchises. What I'm doing, this is your month.
Starting point is 00:29:40 So they're playing in the NHL? That's correct. They're going to be on the road for some. We'll be back at home. They're going back on the road. Then they'll be home after that. In terms of level of competition, it's therefore if you want it. If you want to get your poop in a group and play better, you've got teams that are,
Starting point is 00:29:54 now again, you're 500. These are 500 or below teams that you're playing. The ducks, the sharks, Canucks. And it'd be fair. Beat these teams. They're beatable if you're playing better. Florida, Washington, Minnesota, aren't setting the world on fire.
Starting point is 00:30:07 this year. I'm not saying that they aren't good teams, but they're in a similar spot to the Flames. Teams that thought they'd be better in the standings. There is not a top three in their division team they play here for a long ass time. They were five and two in October, four, seven, and three in the month of November. Where'd you go, October? Where's that October flames team? What the hell happened? Markstrom misplayed the puck on the dasher board and coach flipped his lid and put Luchich on the second line. Is that what happened? That's what season's all.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Remember how boring it was though? It was more. The show was terrible. It was lame. Unlike now. Unlike now. So good now. So good.
Starting point is 00:30:51 It's good. Going back a week ago, you asked me to do my wins and losses. Oh, I wrote a town. They were going to be 500. So. And I think they probably were. I had wins against.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Who did they beat? Winnipeg? Did they beat Winnipeg? Yes, they did. Rett had a loss to Boston, a win to Winnipeg, a win over L.A., a win over Tampa Bay, a lost to Florida. So so far pretty good.
Starting point is 00:31:20 I've only got one wrong. Switch Tampa and Florida. You're in good shape. Win over Philly, lost to Pittsburgh, lost to Washington, lost to Carolina. Come home and win against Florida. You had them at 5 and 5 over the 10 games. So if they win, they'll be.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Well, I guess they had a tie. All right. Speaking of which, before we move on, from the American Hockey League, the AHL announced today. Good timing. Matthew Phillips is the Howie's Hockey tape Player of the Week. Howies! Three goals and six assists for nine points in four games last week. Where do you find a guy like that?
Starting point is 00:31:53 Leading the HL in scoring. 12 points in his last six games. 26 points in 18 games. Sixth round selection of the flames back. in 2016, has played one game in the NHL. If only as a Calgary boy, we could build some sort of a campaign to get them on the ice or something like that. Time for our way bets of the day.
Starting point is 00:32:17 I wish we could move forward and just talk about. Is there some hockey or football tonight we can talk about? There is, but it's in our best interests to, you know, audit ourselves and see how we've done on the weekend. It had been a good run, you know? Every once in a while, you hit a banana peel and things, you know, you take it right in the shitter. and that happened
Starting point is 00:32:35 for yours truly. Oh. A lot of chalk there. I feel, yeah, I feel like I would not have made these. Was I high when I made these picks? You were tipsy. Because I hate the bucks.
Starting point is 00:32:49 I don't know why I just, coming off the buy, all this bullshit about, oh, Brady off a buy. Yeah, well, Brady's 100, and he's divorced, and he's a basket case. He was 2 and O divorced.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Fuck that guy. Yeah, so clearly, no one, nothing. O for three. How, about the Ravens. What is going on with the Ravens? Quite a sight there.
Starting point is 00:33:09 You'll be happy to hear I moved heaven and earth to get Lamar Jackson a few weeks ago in my keeper league. Goose. It's been a goosh for sure. Don't do that. Yeah. So there's an O for three. And the Seahawks were looking like they're in control a bunch of that game. The Raiders kept coming back and then they allowed an 86-yard rumble to Jacobs
Starting point is 00:33:25 and it's like, okay, you're not for real. See you later. Have a good summer. Kind of years Josh Jacobs having. Holy Holy cats. And then we could have in like the sixth, seventh round? Kidding me? Anyway, so it's an O for three. I'm due next week. I was over three last week.
Starting point is 00:33:38 We bounced back. I'll be better. That's what you're going to do. I'm going to totally redeem myself, totally back. All right, who's next? Let's take a look at what else. Warner did well? Pinder?
Starting point is 00:33:48 Did I? No, the Cardinals do get a checkmark there because they lost by one and they had three points. Well, that's my bad then. Did I look at that? The charges went for two on the game-winning, the game-tying score to, win the game by one.
Starting point is 00:34:04 That's my bad. Cards get plus three. So two and one. Two and one. Which is every single week this year, except last weekend I was over three. So two and one pender back in business, baby. Two and one,
Starting point is 00:34:15 you're going to make money. Two and one every weekend. Oh, gosh. Pave your driveway with gold bricks. That's right. Let's go. And look at this from Rhett Warner. Riding right on the line.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Eagles win by seven. Look at this. Chiefs win by 16. Oh, Narrow margins rat. Genius. And I thought it was, you know, I tip my cap to you, sir. I agree.
Starting point is 00:34:41 I tip my cap to you. A lesser man would have picked another game, even knowing the bills didn't cover. Yeah. He showed his loyalty to Bill's Nation that this isn't the time to panic. I know they didn't cover. I'll take the X. I'm still riding with the bills. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Thanksgiving Thursday, the bills do not cover Friday morning. Picks are in. He takes the bills to cover, knowing that it's a guaranteed loss. Impressive stuff. Yeah. Yeah. There it is. You're built different there.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Big picture. That's what he's thinking there. Good for you. And of course, if you wouldn't have taken the bills, you'd have taken another winner. You for sure would have gone through. I was going to take the Jets or Miami, and they would have won. Jets look okay with the non-momper. With anyone but Mummoper at quarterback position.
Starting point is 00:35:27 With anyone but Mummoper. The old Melf Hunter on the sidelines holding the clipboards about. to look for him. What do we got tonight? What's the, what's the, Pittsburgh at Indianapolis, two teams that suck.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Gross. Yeah. I heard an interesting perspective on the Steelers. Like they've got this, what, Kenny Pickett, quarterback. And they're like,
Starting point is 00:35:50 you know, it's a win-win situation. Either he's really good and we don't draft a quarterback or he's so shitty that we'll have a high draft pick and we'll get a good quarterback. So I like that very
Starting point is 00:35:59 half full approach for Steve. Well, that's you. You're very positive this year. You're very positive. Colts have gone back to Maddie Ice, right? He's still going. And Jeff Saturday made that call as soon as he got named head coach with that extensive experience of never coaching anything before. Yeah. He's one in one. But he played, right? Red. He did play. As long as you played, you don't need coaching experience. You shouldn't because you know enough. Colts minus two and a half.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Yeah, at home. I want to tell you about this, Jasper. I'm excited. I've heard whispers about this. I know. I have some, I have details, but I can't share them with you
Starting point is 00:36:41 because then I'd have to kill you as much as I'd love to kill you. Tell me the details. Experience Jasper. Did you know? Cabin capital of Canada. The Triple C? That's right.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Yeah, you know me. Maybe you want to relax beside a roaring fire. Okay. Roaring fire. Treat yourself to a spa day. Wife like spadays. Amazing comfort food. Cabin properties open year round available for rent in Jasper. We are very happy to be champion the cost.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Get them going. Get up to Jasper. Jasper.com travel slash winter dash cabins. For more information. Maybe you want to spend the holidays up there a little before Christmas, the leftwards, maybe right through the new year. Look. Company coming in.
Starting point is 00:37:34 You want to showcase the mountains nearby? There's the mountaineer himself. There's retro just carving away. Yeah. Carvin. Look at you. You can't see the kid he's pushed over. He's in that pile of snow that's fried. He's mowed him over.
Starting point is 00:37:48 He's got the Mickey of Butter Ripple schnapps in his top pocket there. High as a kite. Huge boogers frozen in that mustache. Frozen snot. Just the king of Jasper. Jasper. You need to get to Jasper and take in some winter and get that fire roaring if it's that cold.
Starting point is 00:38:09 A roaring fire. Roaring fire. Yeah, there you go. Jasper.comable slash winter dash cabins for more info. Let's do the Pinder report, shall we? Let's get after it. A full weekend of activities to get caught up on. And it's brought to you by Village Honda.
Starting point is 00:38:28 $2 million to buy vehicles. That's what they've got. They'll buy your car. Even if you don't buy theirs, you could win a trip to Las Vegas as well. Only one way to find out. Get up there. 76.63.
Starting point is 00:38:38 110 Ave, Northwest, online. VillageHonda.com. To dealership for life. The Pindreport. Let's do it. We'll start with the Cowdery Flames, gents. How about this? Once we get rid of...
Starting point is 00:38:51 There it is. Two million. Two million bucks. Get some. Go get some. Go get some. If I could give you a, maybe a pitcher to summarize the Flames weekend.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Because remember, They were in a really good spot to have a lovely road trip. Were they not? Two one and one through four. Go get some points, boys. Here's how the weekend went for the flames in one image. If you wanted to know. So that's the capitals on the power play,
Starting point is 00:39:18 and that's the greatest goal score in the history of the sport. How's this going to end? Describe the photo for people of adults. Yeah, well, I mean, what would you describe as high danger? Would the hash marks on the left? Would that be high danger? And what if I told you all four penalty killers who were basically at the faceoff dot or into the corner further on the other side of the ice? In fairness,
Starting point is 00:39:42 Now remember, guys, don't lose eight. It's a scene that we've only seen a billion times. A billion times. Ovechkin, it was a off wing, just waiting for a one timer. And what's great about this one is the past wasn't great. No.
Starting point is 00:39:58 And he had to double clutch it and corral it and still took, and still scored. Yeah. Shiri whiffs on it, then gets it through. It actually gives enough time for the flames defenders to get over there. Ovi kicks to stick and rifles under Markstrom's right arm curtains. That made a 3-0. They'd lose that game in Washington.
Starting point is 00:40:16 They'd lose again the following afternoon in Carolina. Rootsch, Rezitschka got another one in that loss. And they closed the road trip with two losses and a mark of two, three, and one. Which doesn't sound very good after your two, one and one. So now they're home. And they got a five-game homestand. Let's take a peek, fellas. Dean mentioned it, but some teams in some similar spots to the Calgary Flames for better or for worse coming up at them in the schedule here.
Starting point is 00:40:42 They'll start with Florida. They're on the outside looking in the east, which is like if someone told you, Matthew Kachuk was having a massive year. Like, oh, they're probably great. Hang on. They're in a similar spot trying to reel in some teams that they hope won't last. Montreal Canadians, they should be tanking for Bidad. They've actually been quite good. they're stronger than the flames and record.
Starting point is 00:41:04 When do they come back to Earth? Capitals outside looking in. Flames owe them a little payback for a lackluster effort on Friday afternoon. And then you got the Yotes coming in who, that'll be an electric environment at the dome. And the wild who also find themselves in the outside looking at. Is that the one we're going to? All hugely emotional, eh? You got Kachuk back, Monaghan back.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Who is that? Hathaway back to Jackie Bear. Hathaway. And Valemak. Valamaki. Yusel. Yeah. And then Dean Eveson.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Oh, wow. Look at that. Talk about what they should call this homecoming week. You get that branded, put it up on the... Forever a Flame. Dean Eveson. Get that fucking banner up there, boys. And we talked about it.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Flames are 25th in the NHL in goals per game. Guys, the news from the farm should be encouraging, and yet it feels demoralizing because, well, there's Jacob Peltje, their top prospect you could argue at the forward ranks 18 points in 12 games in November 16 of the points primary that's good Matthew Phillips also 18 points in November that's a good thing Peltje is also scored in 6 to 7 let's have a look at this nice little bumper play zing yeah sally love those unis that is good color scheme that logo well done on the logo the jerseys guys good job everyone over there the
Starting point is 00:42:29 part of that and if you need well look that's just one week and one highlight. What about the whole H.L season? Can we take like a pitcher of, you know, like how these guys would be? Oh, there's Matthew Phillips, leading the league in scoring. 13 goals and 26 points in 18 games. And they're at number nine.
Starting point is 00:42:47 And the top 10 in scoring is Jacob Peltje and what, a second year pro? It's a lot of goals. If only they had some internal solutions, the coach liked. I don't know. He likes them. He's just making them overcook. Don't want to spoil them.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Don't spoil it. Don't spoil them. Make them earn it. Yeah, you haven't won a championship at the American League level yet. Why are you coming up? Hang a banner. It's got a Calder Cup or two. You guys were here for training camp. You should have done something to get noticed. Do something to camp. Run the goalie, rat. Yeah. Yeah. Let's move to the NHL quarter poll. Passed on Friday. Quick look at the NHL through one quarter of a full season, 25% in the books on that pseudo holiday on Friday. goal scores how you like this? Who had Jason Robertson and Bo Horvatt won two in goals? Mr. Robertson.
Starting point is 00:43:41 And Robertson. No one. Should have held the Star's ransom. They got them locked in at under seven and a half, under eight on a four-year deal. Oh. And Bo Horvatt is going to cash in. Whether he stays in Vancouver or leaves, the captain is on a, well, no big deal. Like what, a 65 goal pace or something like that?
Starting point is 00:44:02 pretty good and there's there's your boy number six retro old tage thompson you want to watch another guy that could rip one-timers holy it's an exciting player only takes five years for that deal with st louis to work out with o'reilly apparently but there you go okay well i was looking just kind of still with dallas i was looking this morning dallas is at st louis tonight the top two point getters in the month of november which is almost over robertson and jamy ben ben's not fire uh of 13 games, 25 points for Robertson, 21 for Jamie Ben. That's something Ben can get down with.
Starting point is 00:44:41 We'll move along. Points. Points leaders for the season. See you. Eric Carlson's having a year, boys. Look at him third in NHL scoring. Almost a point in a half per game. Are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:44:54 Jeez. And a lot of the usual suspects in there, including Matthew Kuchuk, 11th in league scoring. It is McDavid. At the top, as you'd expect. Let's go to defensemen scoring. So a few surprises in here.
Starting point is 00:45:06 We told you about the Eric Carlson resurgence, but right in there with him, guess what they're calling Josh Morrissey in Winnipeg, rat? You get one clue. Wait for it. Moe? Josh Norrisy. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Mm-hmm. Because that's what the, because you get it. Defense. Yeah. And you know that they give to the. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:33 23 points of 20 games. He's been nails for them. And finally, goaltender and leaders, this is the once again, final proof never to argue against the case that goaltending is voodoo.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Linus Olmark, Logan Thompson, Martin Jones, leading the league and wins. Voodoo! We wear big pads and we're tall. Nobody gets us. Woo!
Starting point is 00:46:02 I should have been on waivers and not had a job, but instead I'm leading the league and wins. I was at Carlton. in Ontario playing CIS hockey, applying for jobs at DoorDash. Now I'm a number one goalie. The hell's going on here.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Go home. You're drunk, net mining. Hello to DoorDash. Whoever it is. So who was that you were doing? There was a bunch of them there. Yeah, like Marty Jones only gets a job because. So are the goleys?
Starting point is 00:46:33 Just got bought out. Lena Solmark was the second best goalie in Boston last year. Logan Thompson had no business being in a lot. league. So everyone got hurt and now he's in and he's fine. If you take Vanishek, it was like, okay.
Starting point is 00:46:45 I thought maybe it was some weird goalie witch or some. Ooh! Ooh, look at us. You can't figure us out. We're voodoo goleys. Welcome to a new character to the show. If you would like to sponsor the voodoo goli, goalie, golly voodoo master, contact the Wolverine.
Starting point is 00:47:04 That's right. So that's all I got. You know what's good? Look at that fucking list. Are you serious? Jesus. What's really good is the way you have the hair out today. And it's, yeah, it really. It really, it really adds to it.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Good stuff. Okay. We're going to move along. I have a new favorite, you know, I love data and charts and graphs and numbers, you're going to like this one. This is my favorite graph from the NFL this season. We learned in the off season when he went to Denver and got the quarter bill, big trade. he bought a mansion that had 12 toilets.
Starting point is 00:47:42 That's a lot of shitters, boys. Look at the touchdowns versus toilet ratio as the weeks pass in the NFL. There's a guy keeping track of this. So through 12 weeks, Russell's thrown seven touchdowns and he still has 12 toilets. The toilets are holding strong. Who will win the season?
Starting point is 00:48:01 Toilets for Russell Wilson or passing touchdowns? I say toilets. Toilets. I would go toilets. He's got a chance. I might go toilets. I'm all about the toilets. I saw this.
Starting point is 00:48:13 I heard, where was it? Jordan Love yesterday played for the, for the Packers. What did he have? He had 8.5 because he was 113 yards. When did he come in? Like the fourth quarter for the Packers.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Okay. A passing touchdown, 113 passing yards, more fantasy points than Russell Wilson yesterday. They lost 2310 to Carolina. I think you've gone. PJ Walker, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold. And did you see the screaming match on the sideline
Starting point is 00:48:42 between he and one of his teammates? Yeah. Let's ride. I guess there was a little too much calisthenics on the plane. Now, is popular. Because that pick, it's a first rounder that can go to Seattle. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:57 Like if it ends, like a second overall, is that not what it is if the season ends today? So Seattle gets rid of the guy. Gino's been okay. You know, it's fine. Whatever. Better than Russell. But that guy's gone.
Starting point is 00:49:11 You're not paying him $170 million guaranteed. And I'll throw in a first rounder. You know what? It might be the worst trade in NFL history. It's a bad one. Think about if you were just a commoner. What would you be more proud of? Getting to the NFL and throwing seven or eight touchdowns
Starting point is 00:49:28 or owning a home so big at a 12 toilets? Rhett, you've owned some nice homes. What was your max toilet count under one roof? Four. You can do better than that. on. Four is almost kind of pretty standard number.
Starting point is 00:49:45 If you've got three floors, you're going to have one per floor. You've been to every house I've owned. Where? How many? I've got four. I got a better question for him. What about Jovo's Palace down in Miami? How many shitters there? I would have I'll bet you there was a few there. I never was in the big, big one, but he's built
Starting point is 00:50:02 another one, so I'm looking forward to going to that. I'm guessing he's got seven to ten. Yeah, see, there you go. Okay. How many toilets were at the 12? 12 of Russell Wilson, 12 shitters. So you're going to have one in your master. You have two in your master? You got two shitters in the master?
Starting point is 00:50:19 Why not? You got 12. I'll bet you there's, I'll bet you there's a split bathroom. Yeah, you're right. Mama bear can go drop her flower petals or whatever happens with her over there. We get the jacuzzi in this one. That's what she does.
Starting point is 00:50:32 So two of the master comes from, until. Okay. You know what? Let's not. What else you got? Let's move along. Kyle Murray at the podium yesterday after watching the Chargers beat them on the final play of the game. Essentially, they tie the game with a touchdown, decide to go for two rather than tie it with an extra point.
Starting point is 00:50:48 And a loss for Kyler. Let's hear the former baseball top prospect turned NFL star turned, well, he likes Call of Duty is what we know about him. He struggled at the NFL level this year. What you got to say, Kyler? No, it wasn't. That wasn't for Hobb, actually. schematically, I mean, they kind of, we were kind of fucked. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Schematicallyly, yeah, we were kind of fucked. And what's great is you're wearing the jacket. And there's a huge L on the right chest. I thought it was someone that had Photoshopped. It does look Photoshop. And then when he moves, it's moving with the jacket. And you see the other letter on the other side. It's, uh, it's a big L for Kyler, no doubt.
Starting point is 00:51:34 Las Vegas? Is that a V? Maybe it's a V. I thought it was a U. I don't know. I'm not even going to... Well, it could be a V. I was like, how do you wear a Las Vegas, Jack?
Starting point is 00:51:44 I think it's a V. It's got some on the sleeve at the LV as well. I think that's a... It's probably Louis Vuitton. Yeah, that's probably good. It does look like Louis's signature on the shoulder. Lou Witten. Is that he pronounced?
Starting point is 00:51:59 Yeah. Thank you. Oh, Lou. To football of the more traditional variety, the World Cup continues in Qatar or Qatar or Qatar. or Qatar, whatever you want to call it. Canada, still in the tournament. They're actually eliminated from moving on,
Starting point is 00:52:16 but we'll have one more game to play after a pantsing at the hands of the Croatians that turned our midfield into mincemeat. After the coach said they'd bleep Croatia. The papers in Croatia had a little fun with that. And then following the game, the headline, nobody will bleep us. Esther Hurdman had said they would bleep Croatia.
Starting point is 00:52:40 What was he going for? I'm not sure if that was, I feel like he's a thinker and not a lot of moves are done without thinking about their ramifications. That one feels like maybe the outlier. Probably not a good one in hindsight. I don't know that it changes much in the game
Starting point is 00:52:54 given that they were vastly superior in the midfield proved it, but didn't help, did it? So they did it. They got up to that great start. I don't know. They got a goal. Feels like it was the point.
Starting point is 00:53:05 players that settled it, but over fast, hey, the whole? Yeah. And you know what? You always said, like, boy, that first penalty could have made a lot of difference. Even one stinking point. There's your translation from the, nobody will fuck us. Pardon our Croatian. There it is.
Starting point is 00:53:21 Guys have said the F word like 17 times. It's for the kids, right? For the kids. They'll wrap their tournament Thursday 8 a.m. against Morocco. And yeah, Dean, it's over. It happens quick. Because I go right home. So they can't, they can't even stick around.
Starting point is 00:53:35 enjoy some beer. Yeah, I think it's probably best to leave if you're looking for a beer. Because I've been listening to you blather about this thing for exciting. For years. Remember when you made fun of us, you're talking about pot one, pot two, pot three, pot four? Yeah. They got hump by pot four here. There's three really good teams in their group.
Starting point is 00:53:52 But again, best 32. I should have scored that first one. That would have been. 100%. If you get a win against Belgium, this is totally fine. You can lose to Croatia. Now you got play Morocco, win it, get in. Instead, you lose a game.
Starting point is 00:54:05 you outplay a team, curtains. You ever been to Morocco? Sounds like a nice place. I feel like there's a lot of tanned people. Perhaps we should go. Lots of beach. Be very sexy in Morocco. Yeah, it was straight to Gibraltar
Starting point is 00:54:21 right on the other side there from Spain? Is that a board game? Head down. Might be. Finally, Rhett, one for you. I even saw it on your Twitter feeds. I know you've seen it. Let's head to a miscellaneous hockey game
Starting point is 00:54:33 and watch some fans. Have a Tilly. So we'll describe this here. We got two guys. We need the volume. If we can on this for sure. They're in tight. And classic early Jersey move.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Get it over the head. And body shots. This one guy is. So the guy is in a scrap. He's got the shirt. It's been taken over his head. Now he's kind of, he's going to be a sucker come in here from,
Starting point is 00:55:01 that's right. Ding. And there's a shot for no, no good reason. Okay. So dude now has taken his shirt back down his jacket, giving a finger to the crowd. Slams his head against the Plexiglas because they're in the first roll.
Starting point is 00:55:20 Almost to celebrate. Like, yeah, fighting's cool. Bang! Out. And knocks himself cold. That's right. That chick is loving it. Yeah, LFG.
Starting point is 00:55:34 For Village Honda, there's your Pindraport for the day, my friends. One more time, just for good measure. early jerseying like that's if you want to help your buddy in a fight just get the jersey man too he doesn't have enough friends no he's got no buddies if the third man is allowed to jersey the first guy like it's over so a guy here with the vest on he's like break it up break come on guys break it up hey hey it's over guys don't do it's over i love that suck it's good jab now let's take a listen Maybe we can hear it. Oh, you can hear it all right.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Do you think? That thunk was him hitting his head against the glass. That was him ramming his head against the glass. Do you suppose he'd had a few Miller lights? Yeah, they were serving. They weren't cut off like Qatar. They were definitely. I do like he falls down when they pan to the ground
Starting point is 00:56:37 and there's just cans strewn everywhere. That is the... Good weekend. We've all been there, Dane. We've all been there. Have we? I'm not sure. Is that the Keystone Center?
Starting point is 00:56:47 Village Honda, proudly serving Calgary in area for over 30 years, your one-stop automotive destination in Calgary. Visit them in the Northwest Automall or at village Honda.com. Get some of that Cheta. Some of that two million. So Canada's hooped at the World Cup. How's Anthony with the Dutch? Dutch are fine.
Starting point is 00:57:08 Yeah, I think their last match, all they have to do is avoid disaster and they're going to be through, which is where they're expected to be. And, yeah, we'll see what the... Tommy's... said this was a good thing for Canada. This was four years earlier than they were supposed to. I think it's good. They qualified. I don't know that it's getting thumped four ones necessarily good.
Starting point is 00:57:24 But I think knowing Tommy and what is ex, he's always going to take the positive first off. But secondly, they weren't supposed to get into this tournament. They're huge dogs just to come out of Conccaf, never mind win the whole qualifying. It still stings, though. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:43 I want to be serious for a second because Pinder, you know how he gives us crap because we don't know anything about his stats and his nerdy stuff. Remember last week and I was yelling, we were arguing, and he told me that one of the guys that he follows had the flames at a 95% chance to make the postseason. What is it at? Yeah. It's 92 yesterday. It's fresh. It's above 90 still. I usually check every day just because I'm curious. I don't understand that. So who would be in that's going to come out? Seattle is what I'm trying to. to get. And I would think the model likes them a lot more than L.A.
Starting point is 00:58:24 I'll refresh here. The model likes Calgary better than L.A.? Yes. Significantly. Five more wins over the course of, okay. Now Seattle. L.A.'s, they've got them at 92% today. They've got Seattle at 74%. They've got the Oilers at 69% to get in L.A. at 56.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Just talking Pacific. The oilers that low. Well, and you know, we talked about it. You're like, they got too, superstars, but they are where they are in the standings with those two superstars. There's some major underlying issues beyond the two big guys there right now. I hate dealers. I'm happy if they're out.
Starting point is 00:58:57 I just, I would have expected that. Why can't their other guys get better and help them get there? I think your best players, looking like your best players is something you'd expect. Yes, I pull your RV looking like your best player is something you wouldn't expect. But they miss Kane. And I don't like that blue line in the goaltending. Well, they were down to the Rangers, what, 3-0-0 on Saturday? And the Superstars wound up.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Four goals in the third. Only two of them on the power play, but four of them. So what about Seattle? Five in a row? 13, 5 and 3. 75, they've both, Flames and Crack and have both played 21 games. They have given up less.
Starting point is 00:59:42 They've scored far more. Maddie Badeers is legit. I don't know. I worry a little bit that we're just going to, oh, the air's going to come out, air is going to come out. The model has them at like mid-90s and being a playoff team. It's not nothing. Like it's not like the model viewing Montreal where they're like,
Starting point is 01:00:04 this is a hot run, unsustainable, and they're going to go rock bottom. Very different. And again, remember, a lot of the data people liked Seattle last year, but they just didn't get goaltending. So they were probably a lot better than the record showed last year. So was our hope Like with Seattle or St. Louis and many know So
Starting point is 01:00:24 Because Winnipeg's not Are they falling out of the playoffs? What's their percent? Winnipeg's at about 70 here. Dallas is 96. Dallas is way up there 90%. See, because I think there's some pretty good teams that they've got at pretty low like
Starting point is 01:00:40 Like L.A. Edmonton. Well, Winnipeg, if they're at 70. There's a lot of things. teams over. Well, I guess I haven't looked at it, but I'd guess Connor Hullbock's been sensational. I bet she's hanging around 935.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Like, is that going to last a whole year? Just like is Markstrom's 886 or whatever he is going to last. It's gold sending. Don't make me do the voodoo guy again. What do you mean? Oh, you think you figured me out. You don't know shit, Buster.
Starting point is 01:01:14 The other serious talk I need to have with you guys is, should I start my diet today? Or should I finish off the pizza. What's the diet? Is it a pizza diet? That feels like it's Thanksgiving. It was Thanksgiving. Four food groups in one bite. Welcome to the pizza diet. I told you I told you I was going 8,000 calories a day. I hit that minimum. At least 8,000 over the last week per day. Monday was supposed to be my start day, but just pizza in the fridge. Man, it looks good. Yeah, I had a tough start to the day today.
Starting point is 01:01:50 because, you know, year ago, I was all Johnny Fitness. Were you? Feeling good about life, you know, eating better, getting some workouts in and all that. It's good.
Starting point is 01:02:02 This morning, threw on the winter coat that I bought last November. Yeah. Slim fit. Ooh, snug. Eight pounds of shit in a five pound bag. Oh.
Starting point is 01:02:16 Not your best look. Time to start doing some. Well, up to the bike. Weren't you on the bike? religiously. Fucking lungers or something. You were a bike fanatic. You were,
Starting point is 01:02:25 you were a bike fanatic. Ah, I got to get on the bike. I got to do something. Goodness gracious. The bike got you to that point. Just get back on the bike. I'll sell you my
Starting point is 01:02:36 Pender Zap workouts for the business. I can't go to. Yeah, no. Space suit's dialed. Well, I'm sure it's good. I'm not, no, there's not. No.
Starting point is 01:02:47 Are you going to donate to the fat boomer cause or? Send that pizza up, would you? I told you. What kind of pizza is right? Yeah. Is it thick crust? The pepperoni.
Starting point is 01:02:58 It's pepperoni. Oh, out of the fridge. Thick crust. They fry the pepperoni before they bake the pizza. They put fried pepperoni on top of the pizza and then bake it. Yeah, start tomorrow. I'll go grab it. What's one day?
Starting point is 01:03:13 Are you going to go grab it? Go get it first. Yeah, he's going to go and get the pepperoni. He's going to go get the pizza. You know at the side when they curl up? Then they get the little pools in there. Oh, you get the pool. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 01:03:21 I'm telling you, yeah. That's, that's the, that's the money shot right there. Oh, why, Alex, would you put up pictures of pizza? Fricking lunch out here, Alex. On the show tomorrow, Frank Sarajevois going to join us. See how his American Thanksgiving went. See if he did 8,000 calories. Have you seen what's going on in Philadelphia with the Flyers? Remember that cute hot start that we all knew wasn't going to last under torts?
Starting point is 01:03:48 Yeah, a little bit. Oh, baby. And they're getting healthy now. excuses are going to go out the window. All right, Red is sitting back down. I said, we'll talk to Sarah Valley tomorrow, your buddy. Did you send him his whiskey yet? Are you, uh, well, he doesn't give me me, I'm not going to beg the guy.
Starting point is 01:04:03 All right. Can you link these two together? Are we're going to have some. I don't know what to dopes need some help. We're going to have some issues. God. Like, okay. So I could start off with some spicy chicken fingers.
Starting point is 01:04:14 Oh, yeah. Hold those up nice for a little. Yeah, do it again. Hold them up again. Give us a nice, give us a good 10 seconds, sir. It's hard because they're going to. fall out. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:04:23 Okay. Leftovers. Oh, yeah, looks good. And here's the, uh, I was actually, I, I, I kind of shocked myself because there's more than one beats in the fridge. Come on. Can't do this today. Diet tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:04:40 Oh. Oh, man. That looks unbelievable. That's bigger than your head. Hold that up. Hold that up next to your head. Oh. It's so good.
Starting point is 01:04:49 It's so damn good. You know, and my, my brain very quickly there, I was going to say, tell him to take a bite. And my brain said, stupid. Of course he's taking a bite. You don't need to tell him to take a bite. He's taking a bite. Look at that thing and not take a bite.
Starting point is 01:05:03 So you had two pizzas that you, yeah. Slices are huge. Really good. This one here with the salami. Yeah. So spicy. Oh, is it?
Starting point is 01:05:16 What do they call it? The Diavola or wherever. Oh, my God. The soropresseta? The ariola. Yeah. Nope. You can't help yourself.
Starting point is 01:05:29 I'm glad it didn't start my diet today. We're here to help, Brett. First, you brought it up. On the show tomorrow, Frankie, it's a game day. Game day tomorrow. Cachuck ball. Spicy. And watch for someone climbing in your DMs.

Starting point is 01:06:40 There's still some things we need to iron out. There will be some additions to it, but why wait? Let's go. We're past past Remembrance Day, past American Thanksgiving. It's full-bore Christmas, and we're going to do some good for some people. and you, the listener and viewer, are going to be involved and you, Rhett,
Starting point is 01:06:55 and you are going to be involved and we're going to be... And the people we're doing good for aren't us. It's actually going to be other people. Yeah, for once, we're actually thinking about people other than ourselves.
Starting point is 01:07:04 Yeah, we're trying at least. Once a year, at least. Do you think people like us more for doing this for? Or is that thinking about us still? I'm not sure. It's probably thinking about the other people. So that's all, big show
Starting point is 01:07:13 all of a sudden for you coming up tomorrow. Looking forward to it. I guess I'll come. Good luck with that diet, Rhett. Good luck with that diet. Yeah, it's going to be good. Tomorrow is going to be one. It's going to be a banger.
Starting point is 01:07:24 James Spiral tomorrow? What are we looking at? How old is the pizza? If you had two and didn't know you had to, how long have they been hanging around? I guess I had the pizza Saturday night and then I had the pizza Sunday night. It's good pizza. One's from Saturday and one's from Sunday. Lady, this guy's putting my kids through college.
