Here it is, Barn Burner, Thursday, the day after a game day, the day before a game day, it's always something.
There's always something going on.
It's a big day here.
There's the Rettster sitting in Buffalo, the home of the hottest player in the National Hockey League.
Not just good looking.
Dreamy.
But tall, he's a tall drink of water.
He's red hot.
last night put on quite a show that tage thompson we were just talking about him yesterday and
was yesterday a show you're like and he can score so many different ways it's not just that he's
kind of he's shooting it a ton he's shifty he's making plays you saw all of it in the first
uh can fly too skating i feel like sometimes i say things that are actually bang on like nail
on the head home run hits that sort of stuff i agree now we do talk for hours a day there's a lot of
So there's a lot of swings in the box, but you've hit a few home runs for sure.
Yeah, yeah.
We'll get to that eventually in the show today.
Who's got the most strikeouts in major league baseball history?
Strikeouts?
It's got to be someone that played forever.
Yeah.
Who played forever?
Cal Ripkin, maybe?
It's Babe Ruth, you dummy.
Babe Ruth.
Oh, because he threw a man.
He swung for the fences, brother?
Why, and he threw.
Smash homers and don't worry about the strikeouts.
I'm all positive energy.
Chicks dig the long ball.
Got it.
That's what they're saying.
Big hitter.
The pre-show.
Big swinging.
We got to sell the pre-show.
We got to sell the pre-show.
On the pre-show, Rhett said he was going to come on today and tell everybody how great he thought the flames looked.
But now you're not going to?
Is that what we're led to believe?
What happened?
I don't.
I was.
I was going to say, man, I thought, you don't go down early and bounce back and they looked good.
And they were in control.
and they're scoring look at this squad they're rolling pinder was right it's early now they've uh they've
called they've i've heard they called someone up so there must be problems yesterday was game day
tomorrow was game day today but usually you don't go to the usually you don't go to the
farm unless you need help, right?
Here's the thing.
Or injuries.
They're leaving on a road trip.
Could use an extra body.
They have three games in four nights.
Travel.
Travel.
Columbus, Toronto, Montreal.
You take an extra body.
He happens to be the hottest player and leading score in the American
Hockey League.
Braining player of the month in the American Hockey League.
So you take the extra body.
It's a little bit of a reward for him.
Maybe does he play?
I don't know.
I'd like to see him play.
Did we say Matthew Phillips?
We said it didn't know.
Matthew Phillips?
Matthew Phillips.
It's Bubba day.
The man they call Bubba.
He is a Calgary kid and he is now with the Calgary Flames.
Played one game last year?
Nope.
It was the end of the lost season.
Yeah.
He had one game, looked good, almost scored.
And then that was it.
Jettison to the farm all of last year, but it was great.
He's been a.
dominant player at that level. So now we find out
if he's good enough to be an NHLer
or if he's what we call a quad A guy,
which means you're better than all the HLers, but you
can't find a role on an NHL club and you probably
go to Europe and make a half million bucks, get a sweet
condo in a car.
It's not even going to be his doing.
He's not going to be able to,
it all depends on where he plays.
I agree. I agree entirely.
A situation where he can succeed
or are they going to stick him with the plumbers?
Love you guys.
Plumbers are great people.
We love plumbers.
I think we need one in our kitchen right now.
Actually, there's a bit of an issue back in the kitchen area.
So let's, before we get into the game, we're right there.
If you're the coach, where do you put them?
We know what the three lines.
We don't want them on the fourth line.
We know what the top three lines are in any order.
Where is the spot that you would put Matthew Phillips and who's coming out?
I wouldn't have called them up, so that's tough.
I don't know.
You've got the roster in front of it.
And maybe he doesn't go in.
I need the lines up because I forget the lines.
Well, you can put the lines up,
but I don't think they're going to mess with the top line.
I think that's fair to say.
You're going to leave Huberto, Lindholm, and To Foley together.
You move Coleman down.
You could move Coleman down.
You could put Dubay back at center on the fourth line.
I've done that a bit.
I think if you're going to pull someone,
it looks like Looch right now.
Doesn't it?
Coleman, I feel like he's just kind of come around.
He had gone for a long,
stretch there. He was frustrated. He wasn't scoring. You could see. He was visibly frustrated.
Scores again last night. I don't want to move him around. That's exactly the problem with phone.
Isn't that the problem with calling him up now? Doesn't it feel like Manjapani,
Dubay have started to put up a few points. We kind of solidified. Seems like that top lines get
Coleman and Backland of score. And now we're calling him up. What if you gave him,
what if you gave him Dubay and Roach? What if no. What if you, no, what if you,
No veteran response.
Luch.
Ruch.
Ruch.
Rizchka.
Rizchka.
Luch's going to say.
This roguish thing is no good.
It's no good.
Good.
I'm glad you.
If it was Ritch.
Rosie.
Rosie.
That's the one.
It's got to be.
It only works because it makes you mad.
Ruch, Ruch,
you can go ahead.
I would put him with,
would you think he,
anyone that watches the show
has heard us talk about it for two weeks.
Dubey and Rizitschka,
react to it.
Dubay, he's been put in the middle from time to time.
It's a guy that's got some
speed. I mean, what we're doing here is we're not building.
Listen, you know what Coleman is. He's not a secret and you're going to,
you can rely on him and he's a lot like Backland, right? Where even if he doesn't put up points,
he's probably still accomplishing what he's supposed to. Uh-oh. And I, I would move Coleman
down and put him and put Phillips with Backland and Ruzitska. Could do that. I like him next to
Backland, that's a safe spot to be.
I would keep Coleman there and I'd move for Zichka because he's still young enough.
The message can be, don't get too high.
You're playing well.
Backlin makes guys better.
Coleman can do some heavy lifting.
Phillips can be the skill guy on the other side.
I disagree.
I disagree.
I just think that you got a kid that you've got going.
Point for down.
Why send that message?
You know what I mean?
If he stops scoring at another point last night, didn't he?
Yeah.
I didn't like him as much last night, though.
I know he got the point.
I didn't either.
He looks sloppy.
He looked falling around and slow.
Yeah, I didn't care from last night.
But whatever.
10-year-old chasing the puck.
I think we're all in agreement.
What you do is you have to choose someone to come out of the top nine,
and Phillips goes into the top nine.
If you give him Lewis and Richie,
I don't think it's going to work.
And I think we all feel that way,
judging from the suggestions we've heard.
Yeah.
But you can make it so that.
Now, wait.
Oh.
You can make it so the top nine isn't the top nine.
You can spread it over four.
lines. So if you put like a Lewis up with
Cadry and Manjapani, and you've seen
already, you know, who would I do? I got Lewis
in there. Do you really want me to blow your mind? Want me to blow your mind? Yeah, please do.
Yeah. You put them up top? Rosie and
Rosie and Phillips played together in the miners. For sure they did. Move Rosie to
the middle. Spread it all the way out.
There you go. Rosie or Roach? Phillips and Coleman.
Hmm?
Hmm?
Yeah?
What you're doing is you're making a fourth line
that doesn't look like Daryl's fourth lines,
and I love it.
Rather than collecting your big, heavy plotting players,
you are sprinkled a little skill around,
and other teams do it.
We saw Nick Patan on the fourth line for the wild last night.
You know, there's a little water.
Listen, if you need them in the playoffs,
they'll be there.
You can throw those muckers in there
and go grind away.
They'll be there for you.
You just don't need them in December.
And honestly, it's kind of like the Vlodar thing.
Like, you don't have to have Trevor Lewis and you got Trevor Lewis in their choice as well.
And Nick Ritchie in today, but they're not Nick, Brett Ritchie, but they're there.
Like if you need them in a week, they can come in.
But if you're going to make a situation.
The game is going to change.
Point being, if Phillips is coming in, let's give them a soft landing spot.
We're all saying the same thing.
Or at least something that's not cruel and evil.
Give them some skill.
On the pre-show, I brought up, it seemed like we took some flack on our coverage or our assessment of Luchich the other day.
And I didn't think we were overly harsh or incorrect.
He has not, he has just looked, he's looked like a guy that has a lot of miles on him.
And he does have a lot of miles.
If there's someone who you could very easily justify not playing, it's Milan Luchee.
And Rooney's played himself to the press boxes.
as well, just like Connor Mackie has.
I think, like, it is what it is.
If you're trying to tell me that Milan hasn't been their 12th or 13th best forward,
I don't think you've been paying attention.
And that doesn't, it's not a shot.
It's just, this is the last year of what, a six-year deal?
Of a seven-year deal.
Like, this is what it was supposed to look like.
You're never going to win the last year of a free agent deal.
And I didn't mind being in there last night because you got Reeves on the other side,
but there's not many Reeves in the league anymore.
No.
Like, there's no one in Columbus that's Reeves.
Like, Branson's big, but like, come on.
Toronto, Montreal?
Like, if you look at the teams that are on...
Wi-Fi, maybe in Montreal, the Arbor Jack-Fav or whatever?
Wi-Fi is such a good name.
It is a good name because I don't know the other one.
Anyway, that's the story.
Matthew Phillips called up.
We'll go with the team on the road trip.
They will leave for Columbus today.
And quickly, if you think we're the only ones feeling that way about Luch,
go look at his ice time.
Five minutes and 16 seconds last night.
I believe that's the lowest we've seen in age.
for him. It just,
Darrell did not want to go to that line. I mean, he hadn't gone below
eight or nine minutes more than once or twice all year,
and he's at 516. It's a season low,
and we don't know how to crawl into Darrell's brain
and nobody's thinking, but we can look at the ice times.
He didn't want him out there. There's a lot of special teams, but still.
There are some takes we need to defend on this thing that we do.
I don't think that's one of them. You can love Loochich, and that's great.
We all love Luchich, and what he's done and all of that.
load management.
Oh, I love it.
A lot management, yeah.
Might not be a bad idea.
Let's talk about the game.
Now, you said you loved everything about it.
You couldn't love the start.
Two goals in 225, but they're 225 in.
But they found a way.
Power plays.
They had two and a half of them in the first period.
It helped them get the shot clock back to even,
kind of get some momentum back,
and then they get to the second period and pour it on with the manned advantage.
Wow.
You get down that air.
easy enough to start gliding, right?
But yeah, I liked the team.
And I think as importantly it was against, I think Minnesota's a good team, right?
I think they're quality tough to beat squads.
So I thought after getting down, the flames, yeah, completely turned it around.
Yeah, you're never, like, again, Minnesota's a good team.
So you can't control the whole rest of 58 minutes, 57 minutes.
But, yeah, I like the flames.
I thought they were moving the puck.
They were skating.
They were engaged.
The power play scored when he needed.
Zedorov was on the ice all night.
He was flying around.
Rasmus Anderson was moving.
I did not like Zodorov's two-on-one attempt.
Oh, I was good.
It's in my notes to ask you.
It's in my notes.
Does he think that Stone...
The four-on-one you mean, yeah.
Does he think Stone's recovered to take away?
Stone does do a weird...
Stone does kind of, on that, first of all, Stone, you can't get caught because you're not catching anyone in the league.
This is the two nothing goal, the shot goal.
Okay, okay, thank you.
On that two nothing, because I would.
Stone is trying to.
I can only guess that, that he must have thought that Stone got back in because it's, well, do you take the shot?
Do you take the pass?
Well, it was kind of Zedorov slides over to kind of take the shot.
He definitely does not take the pass.
but yeah, you can't, you kind of can't get caught there is probably, especially when you're already down,
you've just one hit the back of your net. Let's get into this. Still, it would have been his first shift,
I'm guessing. That would have been Stone's first shift in, and he kind of got caught there.
Ever Vladar, it's like a clapper gets tipped in and breaks the stick of Caprisoff goes in,
and it's a backdoor tap in and it's two nothing. And you're like, oh, okay. I think it was three,
but yeah, it's like bang, bang. So what do you, what do you do there if you're, if you're Zedoroff?
retro.
At least go down and make them have to make a...
You're caught on that side of the ice.
If you go down, he's not getting it over top you.
He might get it underneath you before you get to the ice, but...
Yeah, it's not Caprice off.
He's not doing anything.
Dewar and Merrill and Shaw, right?
Capris off will make a fool you if you get off your skates.
Yeah, and I think that he thought, I do think Zadorov thought Stone was getting back.
Stone kind of, he got to the top of the store.
circle on the back check and he kind of stopped because it was set it was a four on one you said or four
on two like it was three I was thinking there are a few guys coming yeah so no but this is this happened
there was guy coming in the high slots and stone kind of stud he he turns to find and see where the
guy in the high slot to see if he's more of a threat but he really wasn't so I don't know that
stone's going to get there anyway but I think Zadorov believed stone was going to get there
credit them for working.
They get down to nothing.
And, you know, it feels like, uh-oh,
they're getting a lot of penalty power plays in a row here.
They're going to come back at some point,
but they earned all them.
They were feet moving and have the puck penalties.
Force a team under pressure.
Minnesota's got a good kill.
They should.
They're a good kill, don't think.
Yeah, I'll check.
Yeah.
I think it was...
They're number two.
Yeah, it was one of the top ones in the league coming in.
And...
I think number one on the road.
Flames finished two for six on the man advantage.
four in a row and then it was three in a row for the wild
the weathered that storm.
It was a good effort and to your point
you get down two nothing. At least it's early. You got time.
It's funny when we sit here and we do this sort of thing
and it's well, what do you do with the lines and who should start
net and all of this sort of thing and then you look at the power play
and what a difference it makes. That's the game.
It gets you the power play goal, wins it for you
against the coyotes two nights ago. It gets you back into it
and essentially wins it for you here. In the seven
previous games before these last two on the homestand.
They were two for 21 in the seven games prior.
In the last two games, four for nine.
And it's the flames look great and all of this.
And they did look great.
But it still comes back to how much time and hand-ringing you spend on all these little
things.
If your power play is good or better than bad, it makes all the difference.
Because the flames are going to be, chances are, in a lot of tight games.
Yeah, the wild go for four, flames go two for six, ball game.
Ball game.
Yeah.
They're going to be in tight games because of the way they play most nights and the
goaltending that they get.
Man, if that power play can be better than bad, it makes all the difference for this team.
It's coming.
And they're looking a little more comfortable with each other.
And I know that's a big excuse now that we're, what, 25 games into the year.
I'm doing the math 26.
But more than that, the conversation post game with Darrell and a lot of the players
was just being simple, being direct.
trying to get shots and create chaos,
not to just pass, pass, pass, pass, pass,
try to do something impossible.
Whoops, we lost possession.
Now, you've got to get the zone before we can talk about any of this.
And they've been better at zone entries,
but they're trying to get pucks to net more,
and that's where things get chaotic for a penalty kill.
And I think you're right.
It's the, get in the zone.
That was the big complaint at start of the year, wasn't it?
It was like, holy smokes, folks, can we,
can we get set up and try a couple of place at least?
Yeah.
They're really struggling to get it in.
And you can see it on the graphic now if you're watching on
you two, the penalty kill, sorry, the power play, 20.9%.
Even with that stretch over the last two games, it still puts them 24th overall.
Which is weird. 21% would put your top 10 most years, but this is, we'll talk about it later.
This is the story of the year. There's a huge surge up in offense, power plays, goals per game.
You know, scoring leaders are looking at targets of 150 plus points. Not 100 used to be a huge, like, scoring's up.
It's fun. Leads not as safe as they used to be read. Another two-goal lead.
So.
Wow.
And Minnesota on a Wednesday?
Yeah.
News Fest,
right?
Yeah.
No, that's good.
Yeah.
Good game.
And on the other side, for the wild,
they had a 2-0 lead here.
They let it slip.
They lose 5 to 3.
They had a 5-1 lead in Dallas on Sunday.
They lose, what, 6-5?
They win in a shootout,
but yeah, they win in the...
Blue the four-goal lead.
Blue the four-goal lead.
Yeah, whatever it was.
Anyway, for the flames.
So the power play obviously comes through.
Vlidar.
As you said, two goals early.
young goalie, how's he going to handle it?
He was just fine.
The rest of the way, for him it's another victory.
That's third straight start, four of five, six of eight.
Four wins in a row.
Four wins in a row.
He'll start two of the three here on the road,
where and against whom, I guess, to be determined.
And I don't know if it even matters right now.
Would you give Markstrom to Columbus, the soft spots?
Is Columbus going to pack it?
or is a nine to four loss
is the next game
I just don't know that they have the capacity to make statements
like I just see holes on the roster
yeah we were watching the highlights this morning
and I don't even remember who's goal
Peyton Krebs I guess it was
because as you've read said they got blown up by Buffalo last night
the turnover by Patrick Linae
and the indifference of the defenseman to play
it was one on three and he was
went through all of them and scored.
And the soft on Merzlikens, too.
It's just like, okay, so that's four Columbus Blue Jackets
that look like they'd rather be eating a ham sandwich
and not be there.
Corpusallo starts, gets pulled, gets put back in.
They have three, Merzlikens six, back to Corpuselah.
That's nice, yeah.
That's how you book in that thing.
Six, who's Columbus?
Is it still Larson?
It is.
Six regulation wins in 25 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
And to be fair, we expected them to be,
at best, maybe a team that could
threaten to be a bubble team?
Like, we knew this was a bottom half of the East team, right?
It's probably, we didn't,
we just didn't think the goaltending made this bad
and the defense would be this bad.
They've allowed a ton of goals.
Yeah, with the addition of the guys,
you know, well, specifically Godroll.
You expected them to be better than last year, didn't you?
Like,
lining and Goddrow should be,
but yeah, like,
it's not like Godreau's not doing good dro things, right?
He's still, he's scoring, he's getting help,
but it's just...
They're 13 out of a wild card already.
Oh yeah.
This is draft lottery,
Ville.
They're done.
Yeah.
So do you give Markstrom the soft touch?
I don't know.
Does it matter?
I don't know.
I don't know.
And the other thing I wanted to point out,
that's the fourth win in a row at home for Vlidar.
That's the homestand.
Do you remember how he never got to play at home last year?
I know.
And so I'm looking at his starts last year.
He had a win against Columbus in February.
That was his first.
home game, never mind just win.
And he only got two more home games the rest of the year.
Three.
He played four home games.
Five.
Yeah.
Like, it's mind-numbing.
Like, he's really in the trust tree with Darrell right now.
And I get it.
Markstrom had that great start last year.
He was off to like eight shutouts by this time he hears something hilarious.
But like he's in the trust tree.
I heard you post game asking questions to Big D.
I had to.
Old Pinder.
was a member.
If I can't go to Dutton's, what the hell am I supposed to do?
A member of the working media last night?
Is that what?
You've got to be seen every Haley's comment or so, don't you?
Maybe.
That's usually what you ask me.
But you asked him about Vladar.
Yeah, what has he seen developmentally since the beginning of last year?
Because remember, he comes in as this unknown guy at the NHL level, only six games, and Daryl was really hesitant to use him.
They used Markstrom on back to backs on the road with the All-Star break coming up instead of going
of Lidar. It was months between, or more than the month between starts at one point.
And his answer.
Basically, he said, you know, the biggest thing is he came into camp and way better shape,
condition. So he's ready to double down on it. Chubby. Much better shape. Well, and I don't
know that it was chubby. I think the same things were said about Ridditch, too, where it was like,
if you're going to be a starter, there's just a different level. It's a different gear. You can't
be in good shape. It's got to be like elite. And I think those, aren't always supposed to
be big. I mean, he's a bean pole, by the way. Like, he's
gross. He's a praying mantis. That's how he looks. He was
not chubby last year. He's in better shape physically to stop pucks this year.
Cam Talbot was the same way. I remember seeing
a lot of them are just, my goodness, you're very, yeah, it's not like the old days.
Doey, uh, Dooy McMuffin.
Doe McMuffin. Great nickname, George Johnson.
Damn backups. Remember, were you on? Because we had
stage, Matt stage and on.
And I can't remember if you were working the show then when he talked about
Joey McDonald comes in plays.
Were you there for that story, Rhett?
Is it ringing any bells yet?
McDonald's.
What Joey McDonald was there.
We had, it might have been during COVID.
I'm trying to remember if we were in studio or at home or whatever.
It wasn't while Joey was on the team.
It was years after.
This is years after.
So this is staging within the last couple of years told the story about when
McDonald comes to the flames and gets into a game and he is not in good shape. He is, as George called
him, Doy McMuffin. And he played in this game and stood in his head and I don't remember if they
won or lost, but they were on the road. They're getting on the charter. They're leaving the rink.
They had to leave without Joey McDonald. He was on a stretcher getting IVs and like still
furnace faced. They're like, so I don't remember how that story ended. Did he have to take like a flight
to catch up with them in the next city or catch up with them at the airport or whatever it was,
but the team was leaving.
He was out of it.
Beautiful.
Him and Yags.
Remember when Yags showed up?
Yogs was the same way.
I still remember his face on the bench in L.A. one night early on the first couple games.
He was the only plus player that year.
If you like plus minus, everyone else was a dash that whole season except Yogs who packed it in
in January.
Poor Yogs.
And remember, he even said it when he got here.
I wish I had more time to get myself in the game.
And then he had the groin thing and you're like, oh, this is too much Christmas bark.
Hey?
Oh, look at that.
Boom.
Boom.
I shouldn't have made the Christmas bark.
You dummy it already?
Oh, it's so good.
I'm glad that's not my house.
God, it's so good.
It's continual.
You walk by, you have a bite.
It's always there.
Yeah.
I can't even move around the house.
And then you get, then you've eaten half of it and you just say to hell with it,
I might as well, I got to get rid of it, so I don't have to do the same thing tomorrow.
Gone this far, may as well finish the job.
So do you keep in the freezer, keep it nice and cold?
I like it.
Yeah, me too.
So how many, how many pieces when you go, you open the zip lock bag, how many are you grabbing each time?
How big are they like dinner plates?
What do we talk?
No, you start.
I have it in a plastic little.
Gotcha, yeah.
I ate the, I've eaten that much.
It was full.
God.
So big kind of a cookie sheet.
and I actually want to do a video.
So you melt the chocolate, you pour it down, you freeze it,
you pour the next layer of chocolate, you let it,
and then you start putting whatever you want into it.
And then you break it up, like the bark or the crack,
or the crack, or whatever.
And it gets into sizes about what he was showing there,
kind of like a, yeah, Doritoe chip or bigger.
Yeah.
I'm over under 3.5 every time I go in there.
It's three or more chances are.
You're hitting that daily quota of sugar you need, eh?
Maxing that out.
So good.
Next chance for you to win, we had, I forget the lady's name.
She won tickets yesterday on the program.
Her husband was Carrie, who said my husband's been serving for six years.
His name is Andrew.
So Carrie and Andrew got to the game.
Very nice.
Our next chance for you to win with Mad Rose Pub is coming up on the 14th of December against the Vancouver Canucks.
Then it's the blues, Le Bleu.
I think after that on the 16th.
Friday night.
the next home game. Yeah. Spits a while here.
Out for three, home for two,
out for four.
Those back to back against San Jose.
And then two more in California.
And then Christmas.
8.30 starts galore those last three.
Then holly jolly turkey.
I'm taking it a week off.
Talking to some of the fellows.
It's going to be a late arrival back on the 24th
because it's an 830 puck drop Pacific,
or sorry, 830 Mountain in Anaheim.
And they're going to fly out. It's like a 4 a.m.
Get back to Calgary on Christmas Eve.
welcome.
That's right.
Happy holidays, boys.
Then they start on the 27th against Edmonton, fly that night to Seattle to play the next day.
Boo-hoo.
Yeah, that's...
You would have bitched and moaned about this.
Now that you're not playing, you're calling them soft.
Come on.
We got...
I think we got one day, buddy.
So don't...
They get an extra, whole extra day.
One day.
They get an extra day off.
They get one day off a week.
Come on.
It's very...
You know what?
It's almost pindering.
He picks both sides.
You're really kind of on both sides.
The great ones make it look easy, Dean.
The players don't make enough money or this is the players that got to be better.
Oh, it's going to be too much radiation.
First game back.
These guys are so soft.
We only got 10 minutes at Christmas when I play.
I love you, Rhett.
Didn't even get Christmas.
Yeah, that's right.
There was no Christmas.
NBA plays on Christmas every day.
Outdoor dental.
I think that is Christmas?
It's Christmas on a month.
Monday?
This year it's on a Sunday.
Football on the 24th.
Aren't they playing Christmas Day this year?
Wow.
I thought I had read they were playing Christmas Day games.
Yeah.
Anyway, outdoor dental.
We've been talking to you about this.
Dentistry with no needles, no drills.
If the dentist is kind of one of those things,
oh, geez, that you just dread.
And then you put off because you dread it.
And then it's been so long since you've gone.
outdoor dental, the website,
Outdoor. Dental.
Dr. Jay Patel is doing his best to make this whole thing a whole lot easier for you.
Snoring treatments is kind of what we're focusing on,
the sleep apnea of the snoring to 15 minute treatments.
You come in once, you go, you come back, 15 minutes,
Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing.
What it does is increases the tension of your soft palate to reduce your snoring.
no surgery. It's pain free.
And how great would life be, Red,
if you could get a little bit more quality sleep?
Oh, man. What is it, your circadium rhythm or whatever it is?
Is that what it is?
You got the light, it's circadian.
There's no sense getting the good circadian if you got the bad sleep apnea.
Plus, the people that sleep beside you are miserable.
They are miserable.
They are very miserable often, yeah.
It's the Soleil Laser Treatment.
So they use it not just for the...
snoring, but for also the, you know, the dental work and all of that.
Cool.
It's the way to go.
So if you've been putting it off or you're, you're kind of like me and you didn't know
this sort of thing was a thing.
Well, now you know that this thing is a thing.
Check out outdoor dot dental and get booked in and go and see Dr. Jay.
If you've been, if you've been putting it off or flying to Scottsdale for your dental needs,
no further.
You got a good Christmas slate in the NFL.
Saturday is the 24th.
Full slate almost.
We saved three for Christmas Day.
Packers, Dolphins, Broncos Rams, box cards.
And there's a Monday night or a boxing day too.
Poor players, hey, Rhett?
Feel bad for the players.
Yeah, do you see the NFL guys whining and moaning,
they had to get home late?
Come on.
But how many games do they play?
They only play one game a week.
17.
Maybe more for the bills, hey?
Maybe.
hopefully.
You want to do the Pinder report?
Sure.
Let's do the Pinder report.
It's presentation of Village Honda,
76,60, 310Av Northwest.
Online VillageHonda.com.
It's been extended there.
You see it, the $2 million,
buy an event.
One more month.
And we're getting to the point now.
What's the date?
We're almost halfway through this month.
So come on.
Chop chop.
Go you, turkeys, get some dough.
They'll buy your car even if you don't buy theirs.
And win a cruise for two,
only at Village Honda,
bringing you the Pinder report.
You know where I'm going to really get into the food and the booze.
Friday with Anthony, the place at the pizza.
Is that right?
That's where we're going to go.
Holland, Argentina.
Can't wait.
The place with the pizza.
You know which one it is.
It looks good.
Flames.
Last night.
Very good start to the first period for the wild.
Very good start to the second period for the flames.
I have evidence for you.
Peek had said box score.
as, yeah, there was some massive momentum swings early.
Wild out of the gate, it felt like they had five or six high danger chances for the Flames even had a shot.
And you're thinking, uh-oh, all of a sudden a good road, a good homestand comes tumbling down.
Oh, just a game over 500.
Well, hang on.
Flames draw four power plays in a roll.
They score on number three.
That's the Nazim Cadrigal that straddled the first and second period.
And something that Kelly and Rick always talk about.
Kelly says, I don't like these power plays at the beginning of the period.
the fresh ice, sure, but you're not mentally ready.
They're ready for this one.
Came out, bang, 16 seconds in.
They're on the board.
You've got a ball game.
Play Coleman, a shift later,
and then Tyler Tofoli on PowerPlay 4.
They're two for four at that point.
Have the lead.
And yeah, nice response to the game tying goal in the third.
Rasmus Anderson comes in, whiffs on it.
Mark Runders fully should have had it and goes in as your winner.
Here's the play.
There's Root.
How come you didn't ask Red about PowerPlay,
starting periods with Power plays?
because happy too.
Hey, Rhett, do you like starting the period
or the power play?
Yeah.
I like starting on the penalty,
I never started on the power play.
Oh, start of a period.
Maybe that's why you didn't ask.
Did have a power play goal on the,
or sure has a goal on the,
the highlights, yes, that's right?
But speaking of December 23rd, 2003,
I did score
in the first shift of the second period,
short-handed against Edmonton.
Just say.
I like it.
Thank you.
You are the most frustrating donkey in the world.
You can't remember emails or phone calls or the littlest things,
but you can remember December 3rd of 2003,
first, second period, first.
What is with your brain?
how does your brain work guilty oh what happened on December 2nd
2003 that was just that was just after Monty had gotten trouble with the cab drivers
and the Polis outside of cowboys and I broke my toe running up the stairs and I was half
concussed and blah blah blah broke your toe was it your toe yeah on the curb wasn't it
I was excited because I was excited because somebody was knocking at the door.
I thought it must be my good buddy, Steve.
Steve's, he's being released.
He's freed from captivity.
For some reason, I felt like I had to run up the stairs.
Bang.
It's like a dog to the front door.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And what did you tell the team?
Oh, I said I blocked a shot and.
Yeah.
Blocked a shot.
I had to steal some freezing to do it.
injection myself just to get
Oh. What's worse? The home freezing of the
jailhouse tattoo? What's lower
on the totem pole of respect here? One day I'm going to get right
ripped and do the show in my
Speedo on the beach. We do have some tattoo news coming later
in the Pind Report as well. So you'll like that.
I look forward to it. Yes. We saw the Rasmus game winner.
Here's Ryan Pike updating your five on five
scoring leaders for the season. This is, take away the power play.
Takeaway short-handed.
Pretty impressive.
Our boy, Roach, and Backland with 12 points.
Receives because he missed like nine games to help these scratch, right?
He is their closest bet to a point per game player.
I wanted to ask you, and I'm sorry because I don't want to step in on you here,
but you did just play the highlight.
How did the game-winning goal go in?
What happens there?
It's a nothing play.
How does Raspis Anderson, because he's always,
Obviously, he's coming in for a pinch, but then reads it to the middle.
He's right there.
It's a nice play.
Instantly.
He's in there like a forward.
I don't think he's in there.
So here it is.
And look where Anderson.
He's already at the hash marks.
He talked about it.
He beat the forward and thought, okay, time to go.
And he said, I'd had two pinches.
My last two were bad ones.
I guess I was due for a good one.
Right.
That's an aggressive pinch.
The thing is, that could very easily turn into a bad one.
Oh, yeah.
Minnesota just rips it around the wall, gets it past him.
He's absolutely committed.
I actually rewound it too, boom, and I'm like, how did this guy end up here?
Like, what?
And I like his poise around that.
He holds on to that and waits.
Almost as much as I like the guy, cross-country skiing in the celebrations.
Yeah, I do, too.
See, the old school.
See, hard rim right there, and he's beat.
He's beat, hard rim.
He tries to get it up, Fannie in.
And we can talk about it after or tomorrow, whatever.
What a year he's having.
You look, and it's not all about points,
but he is, he's tied with Roman Yossi right now
for whatever it is in points.
20 games, 20 games in,
sorry, I'm looking at the wrong guy.
So he's got four goals and 16 assists.
20 and 26.
He had four goals all of last year.
He's got four now.
And it looks like a solid fit on PP1,
Like you're forcing it now?
He's a bonafide number one across the league now.
And he had 50 points last year.
And I think we were...
13th in league scoring.
Right?
Like we were so caught up in that top line.
Did we recognize 40 points is pretty good for a Dman?
He had 50.
How's 60 sound?
He's got 20 and 26.
Right?
Yeah.
I don't know if we're...
If that power play's going to hum,
he's just going to get a lot of points.
And he's already playing big minutes on the team.
Like him and,
Haniffin probably your minute leaders, right?
Yeah.
It's a good player.
They locked them up early.
That was a savvy signing for the points game.
We'll keep moving.
Dan Vlodar.
Let's have a look at the game log.
There's been a lot of Disco Dan lately and why not.
He's been great.
Six of eight now.
Could be seven of nine in Columbus tomorrow night for the Johnny Goddrow Revenge Bowl.
And look at the numbers here, boys.
One goal on 39 shots doesn't get the win.
Three on 33 against a really good team in Carolina on the road.
at the end of a road trip, second game,
and as many days,
and then just wins the rest of the way,
and there's no real blowups.
Last night he allowed three,
and it's like, yeah, he was good.
Couldn't blame him on the first two.
How many of the next three does he get?
Is it two for sure,
or does it depend on his next one goes?
It's a great question,
because I thought that Markstrom would have played the Arizona game
or the Washington game.
I thought he would have been in by now.
I think you just roll with,
I think you probably, you play him in one of those two
or with your method, right?
Does it work on the road with travel?
Do you play the same guy back to back?
And then maybe give Markstrom the Montreal game on the Monday?
I don't know.
I think it's almost ignorant to play him,
Markstrom in Columbus, right?
Yeah.
Because I make Vladar have to handle, you know,
to give him the easier tap in.
But to predict this stuff is insanity.
I'm kind of with you.
with let's roll Vlodar until he loses.
I could see Daryl giving Markstrom not a soft touch,
but a challenging opponent,
be like, okay, like you're still our guy,
you're in a little bit of a slump,
the other guy's hot,
but I'm bringing you back.
I'm not going to give you a tap in.
You need to show us, you're back.
And like, I wouldn't be surprised
if it's Vlodar, Columbus,
Marks from Toronto.
I could also see it the other way.
Yeah.
And I think Marks will respond to all to all this.
He's been really good with Flaar,
all the stuff we've seen from the outside.
is incredibly supportive
and not a guy looking like he wishes he was in the net
so much as like he knows this is good for the team
and it's Vlodar's time for a little run here.
Yeah, I would put Vlodar back in.
I put a black, yeah, if Marksman wants to play one of the next two,
probably the Toronto game.
But he, I said it the other day,
what if this guy's really good?
Yeah.
What if this guy is number one really good?
Because he looks like it right now.
And goalies, as we know are...
Ooh!
And a lot of goalies have been traded
and then show up and play great.
Right?
Jim Carrey, the Net Detective.
There's been all kinds, right?
The moose, Headberg, hamburger.
There's all kinds of...
There's nothing weirder than goalers, man.
Like, the penguins gave up Mark Ronder Fleury
and the first or a second, whatever it was, to Vegas.
Like, please take him off our hands, Vezna.
Can't figure this shit out.
Matthew Phillips has been called up.
We'll see if he plays.
They got back to back.
I'd love to see him in there.
Leading the American Hockey League,
15 goals, 15 helpers and 20 games.
That's 30 points.
Raining player of the month in the American Hockey League.
The Flames press release listed him at 5-8, 150.
That's everything we already know about Phillips.
He's lighten up the A.
He's small.
The only thing left, can he prove he's in NHLer?
We'll see if he gets that chance tomorrow against the jackets.
Good luck, dude.
Oh, you got a small guy?
making a lot of money. We got a small guy too, huh? Good luck, man. Yes, Baba. If you can't
score against Columbus, you're terrible. Speaking of Columbus, Johnny, they filmed his ride to the
rink yesterday. Jackie Redmond and him hung out on the way to the barn. Look at Johnny's got the seat
all the way up right to the front. The airbag's going to kill him. Jackie's hanging out
at the back. She's got a drink probably out of cameras view. Let's have a list of Jackie.
What's going on? How's Johnny doing? Big game coming up.
and Lainé decided to stay here.
And I think for a fan base that felt like they were always the ones being left,
it's something that they really appreciate.
Do you take any sort of pride in being that person for them?
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, my first few weeks here, I could just tell how excited people were and how happy people
were that I chose Columbus.
And I kind of felt like no one ever came here, like you were saying.
Like you said about me and Patty and how, you know,
We decided to come here and stay here.
You know, it's a great place.
It's a great city to live in.
The fans are awesome.
And, you know, I talk to Rick Nash a lot before I came here.
And he tells me all the time, you know, I was talking to him.
You know, guys come back here just to live here after their careers, this and that.
They built houses, this and that.
And I was just like, wow, I never expected that about Columbus.
No one expected Columbus, Johnny, if you got to be honest.
No one saw Columbus in the cards.
I can't unsee him being.
On the yellow pages, like me when I was 14,
give my learner's license, yeah.
Does the seat go any further?
Do you remember the Simpsons?
He's like, black guy drives like this.
Do do, do, do, do, do,
white guy's right.
It's that Simpson's sketch.
Lug at him.
They're basically going to kill you, Johnny.
Jeez.
Jackie's laid back, though.
She's chill.
So that's tomorrow.
Get ready.
And yeah, whatever you had just up there, Alex, let's go back to that.
The only crazy thing about Columbus is all of it because no one thought it was going to happen.
Something didn't go right with the devils who seemed to be doing okay.
And whether he thought Philly was posturing or not, there never seemed to be room to do it there or interest.
There'll be more conversation on that tomorrow.
But yeah.
And remember all the, how the narrative was, why would he want to go to New Jersey?
He's probably going to want to go somewhere and win.
Devils are number one in the east.
Blue jackets are last.
Devils are good.
I don't know they're missing it Johnny,
but they certainly wouldn't be worse with a Johnny.
No.
But I think they're probably happy to have saved that dough.
Well,
he's been a platt who we haven't even seen.
That's a good jersey are.
They're a big free agent guy.
We haven't even got a whiff of.
Okay, NHL, Tage Thompson Mania.
Rhett, we go live to the scene in Buffalo
where our intrepid,
tage mania reporter
the Rettster 44 is on
the scene. Rettster, walk us
through this handful
of goals, including four
in the first.
He's a tall kid.
He's lanky.
He's got a reach.
He seems to skate well and see the ice.
He's got a touch around the net,
plus a cannon for a shot.
I feel like there's a few teams that could
use a guy like this. Yeah.
Also center position, I believe.
Oh, look at the leg kick.
Zika little, yeah, buy some time after.
After reaming after reaming out the top to that one time or there junior savers searching.
You're. Hey, let me talk.
I'm talking about my sabers.
They're not your sabers.
You've never taken any interest in the savers and all of a sudden you're, you're, you're an expert on Tage Thompson.
Huh?
Floor's yours.
Rett.
Nope.
That was a question.
Anyway.
The Buffalo Junior Sabres very excited after coming out of the locker room and he's already scored four in the first.
Very exciting.
It's a great point you bring up.
That slap shot that he had was 100.3 miles per hour.
To your point from yesterday, this isn't just the guy that's banging in rebounds at the side of the net.
Elevates in a hurry, great reach.
He looks like a superstar.
And a cannon.
Yeah, he does.
Third in the league and goals.
And we talked about Jason Robertson all of a sudden coming onto the forefront.
We've talked about Caprice off the last couple of years.
There it is.
There's your goal scoring leaders.
Are you kidding me?
Your points leaders.
And the goal is,
if he hits the net on that one timer,
they ain't stopping it.
Right?
It's like Ove's office.
Ovechkin.
21 goals.
That's third in the goal scoring race now in the league.
Robertson second,
McDavid first.
So the question isn't like,
is he good?
We all agree.
The question is what clicked?
Look at his career.
He has seven goals in a full season,
his first year in the league.
And that's like, okay, like you'll develop, loses a year,
eight goals in 38 games.
Like, oh, boy, the plus minus is atrocious in here.
It's minus 22 that year, I believe.
And then all of a sudden last year, bang,
they moved him to the middle and a star is born.
Like this is, this is not slow steps.
This is a massive leap.
Going back to his draft year, going back to his draft year,
we have the tweet.
Is it?
The year he's drafted,
yeah.
One goal at even strength.
What?
Ico.
So tell me more about Ico.
What does Ikel left to do with any of this?
What changed, you said?
What changes?
Ike left.
Okay.
I have no idea.
I'm just saying that, hmm.
Well,
Ikel didn't play most of that one year
where he just still looked pretty pedestrian
and a defensive liability.
He was still a,
but he was there.
A negative stain on the organization.
How's the stain doing in Vegas?
Much better.
He seems to have a,
better attitude now that he's got a new neck i think everyone needed that change yeah like and i think
you're right red i think that that space wasn't good for anyone i'm not saying that no i'm not saying i'm not
well i do blame ike a little bit because you typically i'm not on the side of a guy that
seems to be pouting about the situation he's in but well and you look at that trade i always agreed
he was a good player last night crab scores tuck had one and three did we four point
Four points for tuck.
And we also were kicking around this morning.
You look at back at that Tage Thompson deal.
It was for Ryan O'Reilly.
O'Reilly goes to St. Louis.
They win a cup.
Took a while,
but all of a sudden there's,
Tage Thompson's going to be a player for you.
And it looked like they got screwed in this deal
because it was St. Louis's first round
or they were last in the NHL in early January.
And you're thinking we could have the top overall pick.
They win the cup.
You pick 31.
Yeah.
And Bergland was there for...
Right.
Bergland was in Buffalo for about two weeks.
Seven seconds, Dean.
Yeah.
You tried a stinger sub, didn't like it, instead I'm going back.
I'm out.
Keep your money.
It's look good for Tage.
And as we're talking about, both teams win the deal.
If Tage is going to be a superstar and the St. Louis got to hang a banner, I mean, everyone wins.
It's like the whole deal from Calgary to St. Louis.
Was it ramage coming in?
It's like the New Indy Gingla.
Like, these are win-wins.
It was more of these.
That's just how you want it to go, right?
Everybody wins.
That's what we all want.
Everybody have fun.
Yeah.
Everyone get a trophy and everyone has a great time.
I don't know if Buffalo wins much.
They maybe do okay.
Do you like what they're cooking, Red?
Do you like what's happening there?
I like what they're cooking.
Thank you.
And if you think it's just Tage lighting up NHO goal, as you're wrong,
have a look at Leon Dryside.
I'll be it against what looks like, I guess,
the Tucson Roadrunners.
But yeah, Arizona was in Edmonton last night.
It didn't go well.
Watch the moves from Zijerman.
this guy has the best backhand pass in the league look at that thing like how do you to stop that
he's just he's passing is unbelievable across the zone backhand on a tee and then macdavit yeah
I'll just slide around the net here I love the I love the I'm going to go really slow yeah you can
come catch yeah oh damn it because I remember
that draft year.
He's got, his backhand pass is amazing.
It's like, that's kind of a random thing, right?
You don't really hear that.
How good is this, his backhand pass?
Okay, well, how's his skating, shooting, everything else?
Look at the paddle.
Look at it.
So they did a comparison of his blade and Connors.
I'll see if I can retweet it today.
I found it like last week.
And there, two sticks couldn't be more different.
Conner's like narrow and not terribly curved.
And Leon's just like something you'd canoe with.
It's unbelievable.
Yeah, it's like it would be whittling
out of a just a, yeah, a tree you found in the woods.
Yes.
This is the one piece of wood we had.
Here's your stick.
And yeah, tough times are goalies.
When you got Tage Thompson and Leon and Connor.
Check out some of the scores you've seen just in the last, what, week, week and a half.
It's been wild times in the NHL for some stat lines we've had.
Nope.
No longer.
need to scream from the rooftops.
We need to improve.
Good scoring up.
The games are boring.
We don't need a summit.
There we are.
So you got a 9-4 and 8-1.
That actually kept going to what, a 9-2?
Or is it a 8-2?
It finished.
A 7-6 in overtime.
That would include a 4-goal lead blown and a 9-8 job.
Is it 1986?
The fuck is happening.
Anyway.
I love it.
Yeah, I'm here for it.
Yeah.
You don't turn off the game when it's 2-0.
Major League Baseball, we'll switch gears.
I worry for the Wolverine today.
Haven't heard him, haven't seen him.
He's not vocal in the group chats.
Zander Bogartz is off to the dads of San Diego.
What?
11 years.
He's 30.
280 million.
They were in on two of the other big free agent fish, as you see there,
with Trey Turner and Aaron Judge, or arson judge, depending who you are.
But it gets done here.
and you're thinking, okay, so you got Tatis,
you got Machado, you've now got Xander.
Like, is there not too many?
Well, maybe the former Orioles going to walk.
He's got an option.
You're coming up, Maddie Machado.
So, we'll see.
And yeah, we'll get ready for the Padres to hit.
Here's a peek at the lineup.
Is Tatis off the horse tranquilizers yet?
I think it's suspiciously up soon.
So there's Juan Soto, Maddie Machado,
Tatis Jr. and Xander.
Decent little, yeah.
And if you can get to that park, do it.
It's awesome.
Yeah, and now the team's good,
it's not half empty.
It's, can't be the day of Petco.
Dean, you should go.
You love pets.
I've never been to San Diego.
Would love to, though.
It's about the best.
Very expensive, I hear, though.
Nice places are.
Very expensive.
What the H isn't expensive?
Akron, Ohio.
You can go there.
It is. I have to go to Scranton.
Go to Hershey. They got chocolate there.
He doesn't like the Hershey.
No, okay.
Doesn't like it.
And finally, Rhett, saw this yesterday on the socials.
You know, remember the old shoveler in Parkdale we introduced you to?
This is her husband. Got some fresh ink yesterday.
Yes. Wow.
That's aggressive. That's not going away.
kid.
Mix in a leg workout.
It looks crisp.
Calf raisins.
Yeah, is that Steinberg?
What the hell's going on here?
What is this?
This is some random fan that got excited.
This is the Parkdale shoveler who's husband or fiancé, whatever it is.
Remember, I told you, we were getting stopped in public.
Yes.
That helps.
Yeah, that's better.
Oh, hey, it looks good.
Yeah, yeah.
Was that boomer?
Geez.
That's your pain to report.

Does it be a Betway?
Yeah, we're going to do Betway.
We're going to talk about Vinanova
because you went with your lady friend.
Ozzie Sheila, very happy.
And I didn't realize.
Rhett, you've also, you went on the old World Wide Web.
Did you?
You made a purchase.
Got that under the tree.
It's in the tree.
Is that what that is?
Wow.
Presence on the tree.
I always wondered about that in that,
whatever that Christmas carol is.
He put them on the tree.
What kind of presents are those?
Calgary's lab grown diamond specialists,
I'm heading there tomorrow.
You've been already.
Very fancy.
Warner was, you were sold to the point that you got
stuff shipped to you. We're doing this in advance of of Christmas because we want,
we want to share the message that this is, it's the new way of doing business. And there's
two ways of going about it. You can either, you can get a huge one. Hawker for less. So it's like,
I was going to spend this much, but now look how much I can get for the money that I was going
to spend. Or you can get something. It's like, well, I was going to spend this, but that same thing
cost me.
Only this.
So you take that money
right back into your jeans.
Whatever you want.
Should I open it?
Well, I think that
she's not there.
Has she seen them?
Oh.
She looked online.
I didn't want to screw this.
Well, that's the thing.
Yes.
So is that okay to do?
I think today's woman's very into that
because they like to have things that are
what they want.
I'm going to show you why it's okay to,
I'm going to show you why it's okay to do it.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Full screen this thing.
Let's see it.
Vena Nova.com.
Our buddy Justin over there has been trying to get the word out.
We're trying to get it out for him.
Stephen Avenue play second level.
Beautiful shop.
Isn't that beautiful shop?
It's renovated in that building too.
So retro went online.
The shoveling it carefully because there's no chance I'll be able to.
duplicate this wrapping.
So she went online, picked it,
and this is how it came to you.
Yeah, that's too good of a full job for that.
Yeah, that's way too.
Too fancy.
Shoulders can't be folding it like that.
Oh, oh.
Come on.
If you're looking for the engagement ring,
if you're looking for something for Christmas.
Pendant, tennis bracelet.
That is going to, if it's wow factor you want,
if you want to win Christmas,
this is what you do.
with Viena Nova. I'm excited. Let's get
I've seen these. Let's go. Did you see them?
All right, let's go.
Get it in there.
Okay, I'm trying. Which way do you think?
Slide it. Oh, boy. Don't break it.
Whoa. Okay. This is not doing a lot for our pocket. No, go full screen. Full screen. Go back to full. Go back to full. Yeah.
Oh. Diamond earrings. Those are some big hoops.
Damn.
See, I bought diamond earrings before, but it's been like the little
You're like, it's a diamond.
It costs $1,000 as you get it's microscopic.
So those are hoop earrings.
Do you have any math on that?
What we're talking, carrots or number of diamonds in that thing?
Oh, I don't know what the carrots would be.
There would be high.
Lots and lots.
Many carrots.
Yeah.
Awesome.
And so, yeah.
Fellas, fellas, don't screw it up.
It seems like a no-brainer, does it not?
Even before Vina Nova came on, you were talking about how you just, you're defaulting to jewelry, you can't lose.
Well, now we got a jewelry place for you.
Beautiful.
I'm going to win forever.
So now what are you going to do?
Wrap that thing back up.
Bar's pretty high.
Yeah, that's not going to go well.
Wrap it nice and good luck on Valentine's Day.
Do my best.
Venanova.com.
Beanova.com.
Go check them out.
Are you ready for some ask rat?
I know you're very, you've got a lot of the go there right now.
How's your brain?
How much, are you, are you with it today?
Are you feeling it?
That's as good as it's going to get, Dean.
I know what it is.
Hope Street, rental property management.
We've been telling you about it.
Why waste your own time is so stressful?
You've got to chase people around, do all this thing.
Or you could just go to hopestreet.c.ca and say, please, I just, I have a property.
Take care of this, please.
I don't want to deal with anything.
I want it rented, but I don't want to deal with anything.
That's where Hope Street comes in.
Canada's property manager of the year, locations, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary keeps your...
It's going to be safe, protected, and premium rental rates.
Love it.
That's what you want.
Ask Rhett.
You can ask Rhett any question you want.
What a photo on the Instagram, too, from Flames Nation.
The Young Panther, Rhett Warner?
I saw that.
Who, we.
Like, who is that, donkey?
Strapping, young lad from Saskatchew.
Yeah.
Look it.
Did I look good?
Well, yeah, I suppose so.
For me.
This one comes in.
Hey, Rhett, did you ever play on a team or against a team where a player went off like Tage Thompson did?
Four goals in a period or a massive offensive night against or with?
No.
I feel like Iggy would have had some flashes.
They had good games, but not.
Hat tricks were big.
remember I played in the low scoring
dead puck
hook hook change
hook change
I thought maybe
but you did play against guys like Mario
and yager back in the day
I thought maybe they would have
didn't play with them though
well Mario once went off but not in huge
not a huge number we were up by goal
late
maybe even two and I think he got a hat trick
by the end of the night and we all looked at each other
I've told the story he did something on a face off
where he put it through Stu Barnes feet
and just went in and roofed it on
Buran, Siv. And then
the next play, we were all worried about him pushing
it forward through Stewie Bard's feet
again. So we adapted
to that and Mario was
about 12 steps ahead of us.
So he took it back
and went, I don't even know what he did, went around the net,
won the draw, scored again and then decided
in overtime,
nah, we'll just end this right now.
Yeah.
You guys need to get out of here.
I got dinner, Rezos.
Hey, Rhett, best Christmas party that you've ever been to.
Mine when Iggy and Donald wrestled on the tree, but it wasn't just Iggy and Donald.
Reggie broke my bed.
He body slammed someone through the bed, broke the slats and everything.
And then Iggy and Donald took down the tree.
and then I threw a cupcake and hit Rine Preck's wife in the eye
and then I dumped a ladle of chili on top of Dr. Dan's head.
And all there was, there was no holds barred.
This is the best way.
This is the best Christmas party.
Your mayhem.
It was awesome.
That was after we had done, I did two awesome Christmas parties back to back.
I can't remember that.
I think that year was the,
The newlywed game,
we had picked four or five couples to go up in front of everyone,
and Weamer asked them questions,
and they had to go,
the boys had to go to their own room to answer them
so that there was no collusion.
It was awesome.
And then we did an amazing race the next year,
which turned into a pretty good mess, I'll say.
You love throwing parties.
He's a party animal.
Life of the party rat.
parties. I want people to enjoy life because usually people are miserable bastards and just grumble.
I don't know what you're talking. Look what you've become. You moved away from all your friends.
A lot of Christmas stuff, which, and some we can say for next week, I suppose, because I'm looking at the clock.
We're kind of, heesh, heesh. That's fair. Christmas gift that you have given to someone that bombed.
So, you know, worst received Christmas gift.
well it wasn't a gift
I told the turkey
story about the hot tub
throwing a turkey in the hot tub at Christmas for my buddy
well I'd been on the road right
we'd been traveling Europe
and various places so it's not like I had
purchased any gifts for anyone
so Christmas Eve
after trying to get a couple hours of sleep
I had to run to like shoppers and get
like I got a card.
They got a card.
It was a card.
And it's lucky that I remembered that.
So I felt bad.
Mom was,
mom was not expecting anything,
but I think she was,
she noticed anyway.
Yeah.
Not expecting that.
There was nothing that really,
you know,
there was nothing that,
I can't remember one that.
Oh, wait, no, then I had a kid.
And I had all these wrestlers set up and
he didn't like wrestlers.
he started crying
oh
see that's worse
the mom you can kind of
oh come on mom you've had lots of Christmases
the kid you're like he's gonna love this
we're all set up
we didn't want that
we'll do one more
because we are somewhat up against it here
open gifts on Christmas Eve
because some people
and I kind of
you like, no, you wait till Christmas morning
and then you got you, then you're the bad guy.
So, well, you can let him open one on Christmas Eve.
Are you allowed or do you got to wait?
One from Anticaron.
Is she the one with the right cheek sneak?
Anti-Caron? No, that's Antiparnees.
Oh. No, the anti-Carran sends a gift
and they're allowed to open that.
It's always the same thing.
Is it lame like pajamas or something?
But I do, I like to open one.
Well, I don't care.
care about opening one, but I, yeah, you get one gift, Christmas Eve, absolutely.
Because you want people to be happy and enjoy life. There's enough miserable bastards.
Yeah, there goes. Yeah, something like that.
Hope Street, trust me, there's enough gifts. There's enough gifts on Christmas morning that they don't really miss the one.
I was told yesterday that, uh, you know, the, the boys are getting older and that this could be
a Christmas that we should make extra special because, you know, opinions might,
change over the years, you know what I mean?
Yeah. So we have to go, apparently
we're going all out on this one.
And you shudder to think, because I know what your past
Christmases have been like. And if this was, right, if you're
kicking it up a notch.
Locations in Vancouver, Ebenson, Calgary, it's Hope Street.
They are Canada's property manager of the year.
Don't know what else we can tell you about it. They are the best
of what they do. And they want to do it for you.
Hopestreet.com.ca is the website.
They have donated to our top shelf elf.
they give back to the community.
As we are finding out,
we are working and partnered up
with some tremendous people and Shaman and everybody
at Hope Street are at the top of that list.
So do go and visit hopestreet.ca and use them
if you are in need of that property.
Also check out their package.
They put together the New Year's Eve experience.
Teaming up with Mercado.
I thought I was maybe going to sneak in there
and get that one on that bargain.
I think it's over 700 now.
That's where it should be.
And it's still a deal.
Yeah.
But let's do our betway bets of the day.
We'll get into these there are, what did I see?
Five games tonight in the National Hockey League.
I can start us off.
By.
Ottawa is in Dallas to play the stars.
Jason Robertson had his point streak snap the other night, but he is still, he's second in the league in goals.
Still Jason Robertson?
He's still Jason Robertson.
Any time goal against the senators at home plus 100 all day.
Detroit, in Florida to play the Pantera.
The Pantaros, first game back after the five-game trip.
Red Wings already have wins on this.
They're on a five-game trip.
This is their third game.
They beat Columbus.
They beat Tampa.
Money line plus 170.
It's a bit of a guy, you know, I don't feel as good about it, but I like the value.
You're taking a little step, but don't mind it.
Give me the wings, Moneyline, plus 170.
I got some action on the wings as well.
We're going to keep riding the Philip Huronic train because it's just chugging and chugging and chugging.
two points for a D-Man tonight? Are you crazy pender?
What does it look like when it's chugging?
Horonic! Horonic! Horonic!
It's pretty good. It's moving.
Yeah. That's good. Anyway, six of his last eight games, he's put up two points.
Are you kidding me? Six of eight. You might not do it tonight, but if he does, it's plus
320? We're hunting for mammoths here. This is amazing.
And Matthew could check just a single point on the power play. Florida's on a bit of a...
Rett says you are what you are in the standings.
If that's true, the Panthers are in trouble.
You get to point on the power play tonight.
They are in trouble.
They've got a climb and there's a lot of good teams out there.
Detroit's in the mix.
It's a big game.
Team that's trying to pass.
Those are my betway bets of the day.
There you go.
Betway bets of the day.
Bet responsibly.
If you would, that'd be great.
Plus 340.
Before we go, want to give some love to our top shelf elf.
Christmas campaign.
We are under a week.
What's the date?
We're going to invite the next...
Midnight on the 14th, let's call it.
Yeah, six days-ish remaining.
This one I want to give some love
because the Calgary Stampeders
say, hey, you know, we want to be partners.
Are you interested?
No pressure.
And our boy Seller came through
with a monster package for us.
How about this?
Not just two, but four people
going to get on this action.
The Stam Peters experienced four tickets
to the home opener,
four retro jerseys,
a parking pass.
You can go and do some.
some pre-game tailgating.
Yeah.
Four pre-game sideline passes.
You get right down in there.
You're going to feel that, ooh, ooh, that base will be thumping right in your chest.
You'll be watching them up close and personal.
And 100 bucks in food and beverage.
That's a good setup.
That's a great one.
That's going to be a great day.
Thank you to the Stampedeters for coming through.
We need, I want to bump that one up a little bit.
Right now, current bid is, depending on when you listen to this.
It's about 500, 550.
But it's for four people.
Yeah, come on, guys.
So it's for four.
hundred bucks of booze in there and the jerseys alone.
That's just the just the food boozees and jerseys is worth more than that.
Let's go.
We have 10 auction experiences up for grabs right now.
Nationgear.ca.
Go under the Flames Nation tab.
You will find the auction page and there you can put in your bids.
All of the money going to the adopt a family initiative via closer to home.
Also, and I do want to kind of, if you can, donations are probably what we should be
stressing on more than anything else.
If you bid and you get that stuff, that's great.
But we would love it if you could find a way to donate a little bit of dough.
Again, going to adopt a family for any donation over $10.
South Street Burger is going to hook you up with a free burger voucher.
If you're over $25 for a donation, you're going to be entered into a draw.
We're going to give away two beautiful Tiso watches by Gem by Carity.
One men's, one women's watch.
And again, every single dime in a week.
week's time. We're going to have a jettisoned over to closer to home. They're going to get
gift cards and a whole bunch of stuff bought. They then distribute to the families that need it,
and these families are going to have Christmas, and that is what it's all about. Tomorrow is
Friday. Flames are in Columbus. It's the Johnny Game. Johnny Revenge Bowl. Early game for that one
as well. They'll be five o'clock. Phillips or Goddrault. We'll finally know who's better tomorrow.
That's right. Yeah, we'll finally know who's better. That is great.
Got one more gift?
Oh, you got it back together.
Very good.
She'll never know.
I'm impressed.
She'll never know.
Thank you, buddies.
See it tomorrow.
Have a great Thursday, all right?
Oilers Nation, every day coming up next on YouTube.
Until Monday, see ya.
See ya.
