No sunglasses today?
Where are my sunglasses?
Where are your sunglasses?
I've got to go find them.
Get going.
I've got to backtrack all of yesterday.
Are you in your vehicle?
My vehicle is here.
They're not my vehicle.
I have a backup set in the vehicle.
Dude.
Put out an APB for my sunglasses.
If you've seen Ryan Pinder's sunglasses, please.
Also my house keys, if you see those too, that would be.
Credit cards, passport.
I got credit cards.
I got just the house keys.
If you've seen.
If you've seen any of Ryan's stuff, if you could replace it or bring it back to him, that would be great.
See, the sunglasses were old and beaten up and ready to be replaced.
The house keys were not.
No, they're fairly new, hey?
Well, they're just, you know, they still work.
They're quite functional.
Don't you have like a be boop, boop, boop?
Yeah, I do.
So I'll be fine.
Yeah.
I'm sure when your wife gets back, she'll handle that well.
Yeah, she'll definitely help me find them.
Which pub?
And then what pub?
What?
So, yeah, are you?
Hello?
Yeah, hi.
Hey, welcome.
I don't know.
Was this, it shows this again?
It's the, the,
Barnburner.
That's one.
Yeah, this is Barnburner.
No Warner today, although we were going to,
did we, did we reach out to him at all?
Yeah, there he is.
Oh, there's.
Sad.
No Redster.
Ah.
In the dark.
Yeah.
It's the Buffalo Cup.
He was telling us yesterday in the days that said, this is, it's massive.
It's so big.
Yeah, it's like this big tournament once here.
You're like, kind of like, SM minor.
Like, oh, it's bigger.
from Wilkes-Berry Scranton.
I mean, geez, you don't see that at SO-Miner.
Yeah, yeah.
Kids in Cleveland, putting on a show.
We should, uh, are I going to give him a call?
Really?
Yeah.
Just going to give him a call, eh?
Well, yeah, he won't answer his phone.
He doesn't get emails on his phone.
You got a better chance calling him than emailing.
You're probably right, yeah.
But, uh, um, because he was saying that if he had, if he could do it, he would jump in.
but I bet he's
he's got so many numbers here.
What?
What?
Go to the group chat.
That's the one.
To get through,
please press zero.
All right.
He likes that call control.
He's so important, right?
You can't just...
I don't need people stealing my identity.
Doesn't even ring?
This is a weird thing.
Claims last night.
Hey, how was afternoon?
It was really good.
So good?
So good.
So good?
So good.
So good?
So you leave St. Louis.
Three or four.
With a win and an extra time loss.
You have reached.
Brett.
Oh, we could have left him a message.
So even when he's not here, he's still of no help.
Well, especially when he's not here.
Right?
Like it's, hey, but guys, I have the thing.
But I could probably come on.
Probably help you help for a bit.
Good help.
Now, we do have a guest today.
Should.
Should?
Lots of contact back and forth.
Like any moment now.
Yeah.
Should come barreling through the door.
A very sweaty ginger.
It should be a very sweaty, gingy, commie.
Mike Commodore is going to join us here in studio.
He's working out a couple of doors down,
unless something went sideways.
Yeah, he's very leaky.
He's a leaker.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Last time we saw him, he was very leaky.
We were at the other place,
and it was the Flames Alumni Golf Tournament out at Prittus.
And he was late, he was,
because he's one of the organizers,
I believe.
He and Robin Regier have taken over.
claims alumni golf event.
And he was running a little behind.
So he was hustling his buns up to the clubhouse,
sat down with us and couldn't stop sweating.
Yeah.
It was just pouring.
You know, sweating is a good way to keep the body cool and to remove toxins,
which can be helpful for some in certain instances.
For a guy like you or a guy like him,
what do you think it is?
Do you suffer from heat exposure or are there just a lot of toxins that this time of year?
It's more toxins.
But, you know, summer would be quite different, right?
It's hot.
Yeah.
So what we'll do is we'll get into the show here.
And when Michael shows up.
Michael!
We'll press pause.
Don't ditch the barn burner boys, Michael.
You made a commitment.
Just a quick timeout and we'll get them all set up in the chair and get them on.
Now, you watched the game last night, but you were drinking.
That's correct.
Okay.
So give us the drinky pender synopsis.
I believe it was like,
two one-on-one rushes to the net and a breakaway that Dan Vlodar went three-for-three on in the early going.
And you're like, yes, this is the guy that they need a net right now.
Another goal from the back line, which came at a good time.
And what was, I think maybe the most, I felt like it was a pivotal moment when St. Louis ties the game earlier in the third.
Because that's following the same script of what we saw on Tuesday.
And it would have been really easy to be like, okay, here we go again.
and the boys slump on the bench,
but they respond to that with a goal and close it out.
Something they've lacked a bit of late.
That was good to see.
In a weird way, I didn't feel overly confident that they're going to win this game.
This thing's going to go.
But it just felt like they were never really in danger.
If there's a difference between they were, they just didn't feel like the blues had enough
to barge their way through and take that game back.
Right, but you felt that way Tuesday after 40 as well, right?
They were dominating.
More so on Tuesday.
I thought Tuesday they dominated more than they did at any point last night.
I thought St. Louis Plois played better,
aside from a 28-second window on Tuesday where they scored twice, right?
But it's one of those ones where it would have fit the script of the season
if you outplayed them again last night, but somehow you lost an overtime,
and really we weren't that far away from that tied one, one in the third.
The mistakes the flames were making led to those.
chances because it was
Weger with one. Weiger put one up. I think that was the
Achari, Achari play and then
Pads save from Vladar,
the sod. Are you seeing my
Brody reference from the off-season?
Yeah. I'm sorry about that. I know
you didn't like it, but there's some Brody vibes. I know he's a little more physical.
Corey Sech hated it too. He's like, ah, no, yeah.
It was a very weagery night
last night. Well, and that's why I
think he's a Brody comp, because when
he makes mistakes, it's not little ones.
It's, that's going to be on the highlight reel.
because that led right to a goal.
And that was T.J. Brodiitis, but could play 25 minutes.
Doesn't run a power play, but if the team's hot offensively,
he might flirt with 45 points.
Like, I think they're not same, same,
but there's more Brody vibes than I think people thought when they picked him up.
I think they thought he was a different type of player than he actually is.
After the last game, he had, did he do any post game?
I don't know if he spoke after the game.
Because remember the one night where he threw the fucking pizza up the middle.
I wondered if he had, because there was another
Can pizza up the middle last night.
I don't even eat pepperoni, you donkey.
That's right.
Didn't mind it, all things considered.
Still the mistakes, the mistakes they're being made,
but to me it comes back.
The first guy you mentioned, Dan Vladar,
he deserves to play right now.
He made those saves in the first period.
If you're out shooting the blues and you're down two nothing
or three nothing after one.
Oh, those breaks, yeah.
I thought the breakway.
Was it Saad that was in that?
You mentioned in the post game?
It's like, yeah.
Shen had that one off another turnover.
He cuts into the net and Pilar had to make a good save there.
And those are sods flying right now.
You noted that heading into St. Louis, he'd scored, what, six in his last six?
Yeah.
That's a spooky guy coming in on the break.
He's feeling good.
Feeling good.
But Dan's feeling good, too.
Big Dan.
Here's your net, boy.
Yeah.
You keep playing.
Playing this well, you're going to get the starts.
We had the schedule a while ago.
It's not until the last two games of the month,
I believe, right before the All-Star break,
they got back-to-back.
They got seven until the All-Star break.
And it's the last pair is the only back-to-back.
Chicago and Calgary, Seattle the next night.
So was a crazy suggest?
If he keeps playing well,
he'd get six of the seven, five of the seven?
I'd be fine with it.
I think he did exactly five of seven
that last eastern swing they did
when they gave him the ball to run with it in December.
Yeah.
Six o and two in his last day.
starts.
Woo!
That's,
that's undeniable.
That's,
you're,
if you're not,
you know,
if it doesn't tell you
who you are as a goaltender,
then it tells you,
you're in a spot right now
where you're deserving of starts.
And I don't think that
this is coming at the detriment
of Markstrom's confidence.
I think Markstrom's
looked like a really good teammate
when Vladar's done this and we don't,
we're not there,
we're not in the room,
but you get the sense
that Markstrom's very happy
for Vladom's,
and Markstrom's been in this league long enough to understand that goalies go through troughs
and that you need some time to work on your game and that he's still a professional that's going
to play a lot in this league over the next three years.
Like, I don't think this is like, oh, but you've lost Markstrom now.
I think that was kind of a narrative some people threw out in November.
Oh, but if you go to Dan, doesn't that tell Markstrom he sucks?
Like, no, he's been through this before.
This was like the top prospect in the world for goal tennis for a long-ass time before it finally
panned out.
He cleared waivers before he came in number one in this league.
And I think there's been through some dark spots.
I think there's layers to it too.
You'll see what you see on TV where he's like,
you know, TV timeouts you good job.
Yeah, good support and the hugs after wins.
So there's that, of course.
And then there will be saying the right things and doing the right things.
But then after a game, you get in your vehicle and you're driving home and you're in your own mind.
Not that you're crushed, but you have to be disappointed that that's not you.
I need to get my game together.
It's good from a team standpoint.
We're winning.
But he might want to be.
time to work on stuff.
Maybe.
Like you think about not a lot of practice time.
It was an excuse that Darrell used for not throwing Peltje and do her in that game
of Chicago.
Like, if you want to work on something in your setup, you need practice time.
And off day in St. Louis isn't time to work on your game.
It just isn't, right?
So they'll get back home eventually and I'm sure they'll have the goaltending crew,
La Barbra, Sigelot, and others working with him.
Yeah, I'm not worried about this burning Markstrom.
He's too veteran for that.
You're just fortunate that you've got.
got a guy that you aren't tossing away games because you have to put your backup in or your
your number one struggling. And that, to be fair, it's a savvy little pickup. What, third rounder for
Vlodar two years ago? A year ago, summer ago. I talked about it with Retro last night on
After Burner, our new program. You can check it out, download the podcasts on YouTube's and wherever
you get your podcast. It's delicious. It's so good. You're going to want some. Not that here's your new
number one. Because we joked about it. I trade Markstrom. I told you got to trade marks. My point last
not to, if you listen to that, now you're listening to this. And I think like he said it, it was
kind of ingest, but to make a point more than he actually is like, you do need to trade him. But yeah.
But it's, it's, it's, again, what do you have in Vladar? Just be cautious. Don't, well,
it's a nice run. We can get it, we can get a second round pick for him. We get, we got him for a third.
Get a second. What if he's something. Just make sure you know what you've got before you go selling this guy.
much as you can know what you have in a goalie, right? Like Markstrom went, fourth in Vesna voting,
bad first year in Calgary, second in Vesna voting. This year's been a rough one. Like that's his last
four years. It's like bunk, bunk, bunk, bunk. That's goalies. It's crazy. Mark Rondy Fleury
wins the Vesna and got traded for nothing, a prospect that they sent back to Minnesota, Chicago.
It was Chicago from Vegas. This is a weird, weird position and it's really volatile. And I mean,
I think the problem with the notion, and I hear it a lot in the fan base, I don't,
think the executives are talking about, but oh, just trade Markstrom. It's like, well, this position
is so fickle and hot and cold. Who is looking for a $6 million goalie with three years of term
who's not informed right now? Who's a bad Markstrom away from doing something? Nobody, because he's
not good right now. And teams that are, want to be bad, already have bad goaltending. Like,
he's not going to help you tank. He's not going to help you get in the playoffs. Nobody wants
Markstrom right now. He's going to sort it out. He's still a good goalie. But no one is at the deadline
I'm thinking who's a good goal that's playing really crappy right now that we can get.
And I don't think it'd be a deadline thing.
I think it would be an off-season thing where teams are kind of resetting the dials a little bit.
You've got your cap space.
Yeah.
We're really putting the cart in front of the horse.
But this is a team that's going to be facing some cap crunch.
And it's a team that also has potentially three goalies that are very good.
Nothing Dustin Wolf has shown you suggests he's not ready for another league.
Yeah.
It's a second year in a row.
played in the American League amongst men. It's the second year in a row. He's the best goalie in
that league. This is not a fluky thing. He's been goalie of the year three years in a row. Western
League, Western League, HL is a rookie, which is unheard of for goal attending. He's going to do it again.
If Dan Vladar was a first round pick of the Calgary Flames, how different would this conversation be?
I think it's totally different because the problem with goalies is that takes so long. Like, how old is he?
26. Like, he already would be waiver eligible before he got to the league, practically. Like, that's the
problem with goalies. Like, Jack Campbell figured it out.
but it took him in LA to figure it out,
not Dallas who had him in the system for four years.
Like,
it just takes a long time.
That's why Wolf is doing is so impressive
because right away he's had success.
Like Wolf is doing things at age 20 or 21.
Like Valara was nowhere near that level, right?
It's just like the age thing.
If he's the first rounder,
he's busted and maybe in another organization by now.
It's crazy as that sounds.
I have a little something.
Now, again,
this is the second time of the show from my cell phone.
I'm going to play you some audio through my,
my microphone. Hopefully this gets picked up here.
Well, I think I know what this is.
Oh, for fucks.
That's a drunk, Ryan Pinder.
On my way.
Texting our group chat saying,
Walker Duer.
Walker Duh.
Like Walker Dare.
Well, how can't you?
How can't you?
Did you hear it?
He said afterwards, how do you feel after the Gulf?
I just blacked out.
I don't even know.
I love the pace he plays with and he's a big man.
Like, you could see Sutter loving a guy like this and being like,
okay, if you have to say by to Lewis or Ritchie down the road,
like this guy can play that role.
Not same, same, but like that's a guy you can plug in
and get what Daryl wants out of a fourth line winner.
He talked about it after the game.
These guys are easy to cheer for.
He's undrafted, has to go through it.
The right way.
Goes to school.
Does it, gets into the American League, plays, gets his opportunity.
Look at the family with the 61 jerseys.
The 61 jerseys just kill me.
Yeah.
It's like, oh, geez, you had to change your number?
Like, Clark Bishop or some dude we never heard of.
We're in 61.
Like, damn it, we got the whole family 61's.
But how great is that?
I mean, he's the only, what, South Dakota.
Yeah.
Only guy, South Dakota, not like North Dakota.
Oh, lots of hockey there, right?
You got some people that knows some people that are right.
I know.
But yeah, South Dakota is the first guy that's ever done it.
And his family's there to see it.
And I'm with you.
I'm a little bit, I'm a little bit more reserved than I would be with Philadelphia
because I do think.
we've seen enough of the Darw.
We're saying maybe there's something there.
But even before that goal went in,
just watching him over the last couple of nights,
there's a place for you here.
He's an energy guy.
There is a place for you here.
And Darrell said after the game the other day,
well, Richie's hurt, so this guy's here.
He's a richie's job.
That's the job description.
Which, sure, sure.
But I wonder if that's maybe putting a bit of a cap on him,
potentially.
I think it's a good start.
If you want to go ahead and over, you know,
Is this a guy, as they say, could you play a little higher in the lineup?
And I wonder if maybe, because he's got the speed to be able to keep up.
Yeah.
So I wonder a little bit.
But how about that?
Good for Wau.
Wauke do.
Waccadoer.
Mankato.
There you go.
Dillon Dubei, couple goals.
Pat and I interviewed him after he signed as a college free agent.
Walk a deer.
Yeah.
And Pat was like, how was Mankato?
I'm like, Pat, it's Mancato.
Oh, thanks.
Damn it.
Anyway, it's a guy, right?
Like you started to see something like Rizikas turned into something this year.
I think like Dennis Gilbert Shulton with some things that I think they lack on that back end with some feistiness.
I don't know that he's an NHeller, but it's like, okay, that's intriguing.
I didn't have him pegged as the seven, but I think he's the seven as long as Shillington.
But he showed you something.
Yeah, he did.
Durer came in and Duer has done the same thing.
He showed you son.
You know how they show.
I just wish the small skill guys would have a chance to show something.
You know how they got a chance to show you something is they got into the light up.
So hard to do it.
hard to show you something when you don't play.
Yeah, and I think the other thing, too, like, how old is he played four years of college?
So, like, he's probably, what, 26 or something?
That's not Jacob Pellche.
He ain't 26.
This isn't a fresh-faced kid the way that Daryl views Peltje, sadly.
Sadly.
Yeah.
Sadly.
Dallas tomorrow, like midday game, right?
Yeah, early.
What time is it in Sweden, though?
That's what I...
Prime time is sweet.
Yeah.
Well, he'll hear about it in the Pinder report.
Don't worry about it.
Yeah, that's big time.
We're going to have, our guest is here.
So we're going to take a quick break.
But before we do that, I want to tell you.
No, no, I got some stuff to do.
We're going to break.
I'll just, you know.
I'll stay out of the fucking way, with you.
I bet he snores, hey?
Oh.
Right?
Are you a sweater and a snorer, I bet it's a double-s combo.
I'm drooling and snoring, I bet you it's really something.
So what I'm going to do.
Yeah.
I worked hard this morning, fellas.
That's right.
What I'm going to do?
Sweating all over this mic.
We already referenced you'd be sweaty.
Yeah.
Get some air movement in here.
Now, can you look at the screen really quick?
Just see where you hike.
Where is it?
Right there?
No, just a tan man to you're right here.
On his monitor.
Look at you.
See where you are?
Oh, look at that.
Right at 16.
I like that.
A couple weeks, I'll be there.
See?
This got him in the mood here.
One of those sweets up top there.
Mike joining us from the stadium hall.
From Scottsdale, yeah?
At the waste man.
Live in Scott.
Here a little early, fellas.
No, it's good.
It's all good.
Do you snore?
When I'm in one, yeah.
Yeah.
So yes.
As most of us do.
Now, in fairness, I don't know if this covers when you're in one.
This might just be routine snoring.
I feel like it's if you tighten up that.
Yeah, maybe.
Give it a read.
Tell me what's all about here.
Well, it's outdoor.
Outdoor.
If you have sleep apnea, if you snore, if you struggle when it comes to that sort of thing,
Outdoor. Dental. As part of their dental procedures, they have a laser that takes away the need for drills and scraping and digging and all of that. It's just, it's way less intrusive. It's super easy. It's much quicker. And also, they have found that the technology is good for stopping, snoring. And there's your soft palate, Michael, in the back of your... And that's what goes, it gets all flabby and loose. And then when you're in one, it gets even worse, right? Okay. So Dr. J. Patel, he's got this laser. He'll go, shh, shh, shh, laser the top of the back of your...
your soft palate there, tightens everything up.
Two 15-minute procedures, and your snoring is rectified.
Wow.
That's right.
I did not know that.
Yeah, we got some mics put in your house.
You can hear.
We record you.
Okay.
So yeah, it's really kind of.
Well, it's good to know.
I mean, when I snort doesn't bother me, though.
No, it's a little selfish.
A little friendly fire there on sounds.
Check in with Dr.J.outdoor.dental is the website.
And again, if you just want some, some quality dental work as well.
Well, they do that.
But certainly, as looking back when it was Dr. Jane,
do you think a lot of guys that listen to the show or watch the show,
do you think they're probably snorers?
Yeah, our guys are snores.
100% of them.
No question.
Our guys are snores.
There you go.
Outdoor.
Dot dental.
No needles, no drills, no drills, no stress.
Go visit them today.
Outdoor.
Dental.
Well, there's my Commodore.
He is, now you, we were talking about.
I got a full bead.
You are leaking.
I know.
I just got out of the gym.
It's not unexpected.
We told people this would be the case.
Everyone's ready for you to sweat.
I feel like Babs in Toronto.
You know what I mean?
For an interview, just work out and then straight to the microphone.
Hey, guys, I work out really hard.
Did you know I'm fit?
Nobody works harder than me.
Mike Babcock's pretty fit, eh?
He's really fit.
Because wasn't it in Detroit?
He's about as fit as I am right now.
Look at this ticket there.
Look, he's, you have to kind of.
There he is.
There's pointing out of you.
That's, no, he ain't pointing at me.
That's on the bench.
You'd be upstairs.
I'd be upstairs.
I wouldn't even be in the arena.
Popcar?
I'm at home or at a bar.
So has time helped soothe the relationship or your disdain for this guy?
Or is it still run pretty hot?
No, no.
I mean, when his name comes up, every once in a while, it comes up too much.
It does.
Yeah, it comes up a lot.
A lot of it's my, all of it's my fault.
Yeah, I mean, I don't really care anymore.
But I like getting the shots in, you know?
You know, it was interesting because things were pretty good out of the gate in Toronto for Babs.
That was after your time with him in Detroit.
And Mike was sort of the first to be like,
I don't really care what people think about this.
Like,
I'll come on your show and be honest.
I don't like this guy.
I think he's a bit of a phony or whatever.
And,
you know,
there's a lot of,
a big portion of that Leaf's fan base was like,
hey,
guards up.
Like,
who's this clown?
Oh,
yeah.
And then by the end,
it's like,
everyone's come over to Mike's side.
It was like,
yeah,
he was probably right.
He said what everyone would thought,
but no one had the balls to say.
So I think you want everyone over eventually.
Eventually.
It was a lonely battle there for how many years we were there?
Three, three, I think.
I like more than that, but yeah.
Three or four.
It was a lonely battle on Twitter.
By the end, though, you had it.
Reading those mansions, just, it was a battle to keep my self-esteem up there.
But I made it through.
And then, actually, yeah, when he got canned, I was on the show.
That's right.
That's when I was back in the day working.
Really?
Was that the timing?
It was right after.
Yeah.
We had Mike in as, as the co-host at the time.
And I remember, it was like, back.
Babcock done in Toronto.
Mike's on tomorrow.
Oh my good timing.
So I would have been out of you.
I was hung over.
Teddy Purcell messaged me because we were on from six to nine.
And then I came to this gym and I was exhausted because I wasn't used to getting up like that.
Yeah.
And so I was just about, I was in sweats and a t-shirt, just about to shut it down on the couch.
And my phone buzzed.
I'm like, who in the hell is that?
Look, it's Teddy.
And it was like, you see the news?
I was literally almost falling asleep.
And I'm like, what are you talking about?
He's like, Babs is canned.
And I shot up.
I'm like, come on.
We're back, baby.
Oh, I was pacing around my living room.
I was fist pumping.
I was looking at the news.
And then I went straight into the bottle.
I was going to say,
you were sleeping up to that.
And just got smashed right in my living room.
Do you know, like, at a bar,
there's like, sometimes there's a bell.
You go up and just like around.
I feel like that would have,
if you were at a bar,
you would have rang the bell.
I would have rang the bell.
Everyone gets around.
Everybody would have been gotten, would have got multiple rounds.
Multiple rounds.
So have you run into them?
Because the vendetta goes on for a while.
Have you,
is there not been some kind of a weird,
awkward moment where you're both at a charity golf event or something like that?
No, nothing.
Not even close either, actually.
I think most people,
well, I'm not sure how much stuff.
I have no idea where that guy is.
I mean, every once in a while I get like pictures sent to me.
Hey, Babs is in Palm Springs.
I'm like, I don't give a shit.
But no, nothing.
I mean, I don't think he's invited to too many around here, to be honest.
I mean, maybe a few up where he's from, but I don't even think they like him up there.
So there's not, no.
I was glad to see Daryl get hired there, whatever, last year, year before,
whatever it was, a year and a half ago or whatever it was,
because that would be a disaster, you know, if he ended up coming here.
He's made too much dough.
Too much dough, no, 100%.
I mean, his resigning, what a joke that is.
He is sniffing around behind the scenes at every single job.
available.
Yeah, you're talking about U of S.
He went there and volunteered.
Wow, that was a joke.
That was a joke.
I mean, you know what?
That was actually was, I'll give him, I'm not going to give him credit for that,
but basically he did that.
I mean, I was getting messages.
I sent Husky in one shirts to all the fellas and all the guys in the team.
I had to ship them to some guys,
one of the players' cousins houses in Saskatoon because I shipped those to the
hockey office.
I mean, those things are going directly into the garbage.
I mean, they're gone.
So I shipped them to one of the like guys, players, cousins.
And then I guess all the guys were like,
Obviously, they're not wearing them to the rink,
but they were wearing them around campus.
I guess I get the odd picture.
But he did that.
I mean, that was basically a PR move
and to get his kid into coaching,
which that's the kid into coaching.
I guess that's fine.
But, yeah, I don't even think he was ever there, really.
He's made $6 million.
He's made a lot of money.
Good for him.
Good for him.
Yeah.
Made more money than me.
Good for him.
You did okay, Mike.
I did just fine.
Yeah, I'm not going to play.
I'm not going to play.
That July 1 was a special day.
Yeah.
It was.
Special.
Real special.
I mean, we've talked about this one on the other, at the other show and that,
but that July 1st, we were doing, we do every July 1st.
And it's saying, all right, well, where's Commodore going to go?
Well, maybe is he going to come here?
What's the story going to be?
Come here.
And.
They've seen my act.
We're not calling.
Wow.
Okay.
Scotthausen, right?
He's the GM at the top.
Real smart guy.
Mike Commodore.
Who's your agent also?
Columbus Blue Jackets.
So, and we are uncensored.
Where's the other place you maybe had to hold back?
Not that I'm saying you need to swear or anything,
but just what's your best recollection of that day?
Did you have any inkling where you were going because you cashed in?
Well, your agent would be doing this for you, right?
You're like, what's that dialogue like?
Yeah, he called, like, there was a little bit of dialogue before, like,
is there anywhere?
Because, I mean, believe it or not, I was actually,
is like on the totem pole for like wanted defensemen like I was actually pretty high up there
which I was shocked too but like I was I'm not going to say at the top I'm not going to be an idiot
but I was in the top third if you wanted a particular type of D yeah I was up there available
yeah for sure yeah so is he's like he's anywhere you don't want to go and I'm just like well I'm
I'm not picky I go obviously you know I want he's like what are you looking for I'm like I'm
looking for term and money is what I'm looking for I've been up and down and I want everything
I mean, this is probably not going to happen again.
He's like, okay, anywhere you don't want to go.
I'm like, I don't really care.
I'm not striking anybody off a list or anything.
But I'm like, I don't really want to go to Florida.
There's nobody there.
Like, there's nothing wrong with Florida.
But like the Florida Panthers, not Tampa Bay.
I'm like, I hate Atlanta.
It was all just hockey related stuff and go, like my experience is in the rank
where there's nobody there.
And I didn't want to do that.
And then anyways, next day right away, free agency.
he's like, well, we've got some calls.
I go great.
And my expectation, I mean, I really, really had no clue.
I mean, I figured the first number would probably be like probably a two.
If I had a gun to my head, I've been like two something.
Yeah, it would be great.
Carolina that year, I mean, they had a thing of not signing unrestricted free age because I got traded from there at Ottawa, my unrestricted year.
I mean, if they would have came at me with like a three-year deal for two and a half, I think I would have taken it.
for sure like i loved it in carolina and anyways so i'm just hoping for it too i'm like he goes hey
he got some calls he's like uh what do you think the first number is i'm like two it goes a little higher
i'm like three he's like yeah was what do you think on years i'm like two three he's like
there's going to be no less than five and i was like oh i was pumped doing quick math three times
five's 15. I'm like, yes.
But yeah, and then
three and three quarters times five.
Yeah. And then I had
yeah, there was three teams in on it.
There was, I think probably about seven or eight teams called.
That might be a little high. Six.
Gretzky called in Phoenix.
He was thinking like I was
that the first number was going to be a two
for a maximum of three years.
And when my agent told him it's got to start with a three
and it's got to be at least five,
he's like, I'm out.
but the three teams that was really down to was the three teams that I talked to was Columbus, Buffalo, and Atlanta.
And how soon after that did they move to Winnipeg?
I mean, I love Columbus.
It didn't work out for me.
The first year was awesome.
Then it was downhill from there.
But, you know, I mean, I don't regret going to Columbus at all.
But I actually turned down money.
I could have made more in Atlanta.
Atlanta would have been five times four.
Oh, for sure.
They wanted me.
Now.
It would have been a Winnipeg boy.
Wow.
If I would have known that, because I went to North Dakota, it's two hours away.
I don't mind the cold.
Winnipeg's fine.
I got no problems with that at all.
Sweeter.
Yeah, it's perfect.
I love it at Winnipeg.
Can we like save the clip here?
I said, I don't want to go to Florida.
I'm not keen in Atlanta.
Man, if I could have got to Winnipeg.
Like, this is the first time ever to player say this.
I would have went to Winnipeg.
If I would have known and like, I think it was maybe, it was maximum two years and they were gone.
It might have been one.
Not sure.
If I would have known that, then things might have been a little bit different.
I probably, honestly, I would have taken the, I probably would, well, not probably.
I would have taken more money and I'd be like, okay, Atlanta for one year and then Winnipeg or two years.
Sure.
2008, July 1, so it wasn't long after that.
Yeah, it was 2008.
They were there?
That's when you signed.
Oh, sorry.
Yeah, yeah.
It was only eight, yeah.
It was nine or ten.
So, anyways, it all worked out.
kind of yeah then you go to columbus and you're well and i guess to just put a bow on that story we get
mike on and of course we know mike he's been in calgary and we're like holy christ
you're kind of doing one of these like what's the money what's the term on it was the exact same
reaction when they signed derrick england here and it was like oh england at three years
said two and change you're like divide by three like no that's per year you're like whoa
that's yeah i did not
see that coming. It's like that's that's per year. Oh okay well this is a different
conversation. Okay. So we've we brought Mikey on as you try and reach out to all the guys
that have signed and Mike was having a good day. Oh man. Yeah right immediately after signing
probably took a couple like talk to a couple of the teams and then made a decision and I'd never
really even been to Columbus. I don't think I'd ever played a game there. I've been there
and been a healthy scratch.
Yeah, I know I'd been in the arena
because I remember the arena being nice.
Yeah.
But I'm pretty sure I'd never played a game there.
And if I had, it was just one.
Like, I guess maybe an exhibition game with Carolina
because Carolina always played Columbus.
But yeah, I'd never really been to the town.
But any, look, Columbus gets shit on left and right.
And it didn't end well for me there.
I got no reason to say good things about Columbus.
I mean, their organization and winning-wise,
they need to get better, obviously.
They haven't been very successful in the grand scheme of things,
but that city's awesome.
Like,
I don't really understand.
If you're a young millionaire,
there's a campus there.
Well,
yeah,
and the set up,
the rink is great.
I mean,
what they've done are doing in Edmonton
and what they'd like to do here,
arena-wise,
I mean,
they're taking lessons from Columbus.
Yeah.
I mean,
it's awesome there.
So,
yeah,
people,
I don't really get that part of it,
because I do think it is a,
I think it's a great city.
So what's your take on Godroga?
going there because it was not exactly the same thing, but here's a free agent day one signing in
Columbus. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I don't have any other info other than what he said, but, you know,
this isn't a popular view at all. And there'll be some people that think I'm an idiot or whatever,
but I think if you're sitting here and looking at that signing and you don't bring in,
and I know this is a sports show and I'm not going to go off on it.
But if you don't bring in how Canada had been two years prior with all these lockdowns and no fans and mass and all this bullshit,
while everything in the States by and large is wide open.
Yeah. He, what, he just got married.
Yeah.
So, kid on the way.
His wife had been here for, I mean, she'd never been here when Calgary was normal.
Yeah.
She don't.
Right.
I mean, correct me if I'm wrong.
I believe that's correct.
It'd be something like that.
Pandemic effed up seasons.
Right.
So the two seasons here, she's in Calgary.
I mean, she's going to think this.
maybe she can't have family, but who knows what's going on?
Like, why would she want to come back here?
Like, that's just, I mean, I know people just want to look at it and be like,
well, you know, the team, he had a great year.
Daryl loves him.
The team was awesome.
Like, I get all that, but it's like, hey, you're at the rink for three, four hours a day.
There's another 20, 19, 20 hours in the day.
And he has to take in somebody else's, I mean, his wife was going to have a say, I would imagine, too.
You know, he's going to make, I mean, it's not financial.
He's going to make the money wherever he's at.
so I wasn't surprised.
I mean, it's shitty to say,
and there's nothing the flames could do.
The flames did everything they possibly could
to bring them back.
But at the end of the day,
I mean, in my opinion,
Canada's been a joke for,
I'll give it the first year,
fine, with the rules.
But the second year,
when everything's going on in the States,
I mean,
why would you not want to go down there?
Yeah, it has to factor in in some fashion.
I remember a Canadian or American,
I can't remember a player with an Australian wife
on a one-year deal here,
happened to chat, bump into the better half.
And it was like, oh, have you been to Banff?
It was like, two young kids.
Like, we can't go out.
Can't get a nanny.
They're super tight about who's around because they don't want anyone on the team to get it.
You can't see the tourist sites.
There's no date.
Like, it was a complete nightmare.
It was like, we can't get out of here quick.
And I'm like, oh, man, like they spent a year in Calgary, never got to Banff,
never quit to nice restaurants.
Like, it was a tire fart.
Of course, like, signs in the States, July 1, the next off.
Gone.
Yeah.
It's a bad window to, it's a bad window to,
see what you're about.
Yeah.
It's awful.
It's awful.
No,
no,
nothing.
Stampede's not there.
The flood we get the stampede still.
So,
I mean,
and that's shitty.
That sucks.
And,
but I mean,
that's,
I can't imagine.
And I don't,
I don't think Johnny Goodrope
likes me.
I think he kind of thinks
I don't like him
from my time on the radio or whatever.
But,
so I'm not buddies with them and I don't talk to them.
So I got no information whatsoever.
But I think if you're looking at this,
you've got to be,
crazy to think that the COVID Canada didn't have anything to do with him leaving.
I think that's insane.
I don't think anyone was surprising he left.
I think the surprising part was that he surfaces in Columbus when New Jersey had a huge
amount of money on the table.
He's a guy that's in greater Philly, but his postal, his zip code is in Jersey.
It was just like it felt like something didn't come together and all of a sudden it's like,
why not Columbus?
I think that's exactly what it was.
Yeah.
I think it's exactly what it was.
I think,
Philadelphia said, well, we don't have the room.
And they're, why don't you try and find the room?
Trade a guy.
Maybe you could find some room.
And I think they really thought that Philly was going to be able to get it done.
But Fletcher is like, no, we can't seem to get it done.
So you get to July 1.
And I think, I think the day before, I think they were very close to coming back to Calgary.
Like, I think.
I love with our tip stuff.
Almost verbally agreed and then.
You've had Connie.
stuff in here, right? I've seen some of it.
At the last minute.
And I think if the COVID thing doesn't happen, and even
now, if you could roll back the clock a little bit,
I got to feel like that guy
would want to be here.
It's not for me to say, but how
enticing would it be when, because Conroy
talked about, your number is going to go to the rafters.
You're the most famous Calgary.
Yeah, you're going to be one of, potentially,
the greatest player to play for this franchise ever.
When do you get that opportunity?
And now he's in Columbus and they're a lottery team
and I don't know how close they are to turning it around.
And regardless what you think the flames are or whatever,
but he grew up here.
Yeah, it's true.
They miss him.
I think he misses them.
I find it a really kind of an unfortunate scenario
that exists here for everyone involved.
The weirdest part of it was the year they could start talking extension with them.
that was a short year.
It was Jeff Ward to Daryl.
He spent some time with Richie on his wing.
Monaghan wasn't the same.
People wondered, like, is Johnny still Johnny?
They put together, Cucuk, Linholm and Johnny at the end of the year when Sutter's there.
And like, okay, there might be something here.
But that was the off season where the flames had a chance to extend them.
And I understand that would have been a really tough number to come to for both sides
because that team wasn't right.
The guys around them weren't right.
He looked a little off.
It was a shortened season.
You're playing four in a row in Ottawa or Vancouver, like weird-ass schedule.
no fans and it's like
he's house shopping
and thinking about an extension
but that would have been
the toughest off season of his entire career
to try to give him a long-term extension
because there was some doubt that crept in.
There was plenty of doubt if you remember
because it was still blow up the core
and blow up the core and can't get it done in the playoffs
it was hard to refute that at that point
because there really was not something.
So you'd understand trepidation on the team's part
and the numbers they talked about
would have been way less than what he ended up side for
because of course he rammed 115 points
a career year and his UFA.
You're like, good on you.
Yeah.
You proved it.
Yeah.
I mean, the timing couldn't have been worse.
I guess it's.
So anyway, what do you do with these days?
Shit.
Picking up dog shit.
Yeah?
Hey, hey, hey.
This guy was invited to Jasper,
but he's got a fancy pants golf tournament
in Phoenix to go playing instead.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I would have loved to come.
I haven't been to Jasper in a while.
But yeah, I got to start saying no to Ken Holland.
Jesus.
This guy blows my phone.
up about. I mean, I love golf, but 36 a day, 36 a day, 36 a day. I hate the game by the end of it.
But yeah, it doesn't work out. I have to fly to Phoenix on the 28th for a little, I think it's the NHL
All-Star must be, obviously, NHLLLLLSTRO. So Ken's got, we're going to Whisper Rock. He's a member
there. I am, and we got a couple other guys, we're staying right on property. I think there's like
12 guys going, his buddies. Well, some of them are my buddies now, too, but, but yeah,
I don't know, other than that.
Vegas next week.
I heard that.
I got some pals that you might be linking up with there.
Really?
Next week?
Some of the boys, yeah.
Okay, nice.
Yeah.
So you mentioned, like, Ken's obsessed with golf.
Yeah, he loves it.
I had you in studio right after you did your band and dunes trip with him.
Yep.
And like the rules and the amount you played and weren't, and weren't allowed to do.
Like, give us the, the Cole's notes on that.
Because it's, people that love golf would think this is obsessive.
Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's, it.
is, I mean, he's been doing it for, I don't know how many years,
25, 30 years, I'm not sure, in some fashion.
Basically, I mean, it is, I mean, Ken is, you can see why he's a good general manager.
He is very organized and he's on top of things.
And so you get a booklet and there's different games.
So every game is basically, you know, the partners,
the point of the trip isn't, you put money into the pot.
Like, if you had a dominate, like, let's say you won everything.
You played the golf of your life and your partner was awesome.
Like, you would go home with money, but it's not like you would clean out the pot.
Like, it's set up where,
You know, in order for you not to, I mean, it is possible, but you got to be, and your partner has to be terrible for the entire trip.
Like literally every round.
So it's different partners.
There's a Can Am thing.
It's always two-man best ball.
So it's two-man best ball.
Two-man best ball.
One ball counts.
Rules of golf.
So like, no gimmies.
No gimmies.
Back t's.
Back t's depending.
Some of these golf.
I mean, we're not going to be playing from 75.
hundred yards. So, I mean, seven thousand yards is, you know, like at band and dunes,
that's plenty. Like, he's pretty good. I mean, it's not short. We don't, for most of the
field, it is definitely not short. Um, so yeah, two man best ball, one ball counts. The counting ball
has got to go in the hole. It doesn't matter how, how long the putt is. You got to finish it.
Um, rules of golf. So you hit one in the bush, unless it's marked a hazard, you are reloading
on the spot. And the max score you can get, which I have bitched.
at him for five years. I'm like, hey, we got to pick up the pace here. It doesn't happen that often,
but it definitely does happen. It is a max net quadruple boge.
So I'm like, Ken, can we drop this to it? Like net double here. Come on. So you're playing golf the
hardest way you can do it. Yeah. No carts. Correct? You had to walk.
It all depends on the course. So abandon there's no cards. No cards. And then you played how many
rounds and how many days? Abandon Dunes was 15 rounds in, not.
days? Like that's a lot of 36.
He said he hated golf at the end and needed Vaseline for his ass.
Oh my God.
Vaseline on my ass and I left with the yips.
I still haven't been all the chip since then.
I'm trash.
I'm scared of chip.
Like that's how hardcore.
The best part of my game.
My hands were awesome.
Now they're terrible.
But it is like it is fun, but it is a lot.
The trip we did this last summer was even.
So we went, this was, I mean, a major trip.
So that band in one was probably 20 guys, let's say.
18, 20 guys.
But at least with that,
like you get to band and,
I mean,
band of dunes,
those guys know what they're doing.
They're building a golf course
and Revelstoke here.
Like,
it's going to be awesome.
Like, you get there.
That place is built for golf.
You're not traveling.
Like, you get on the shuttle.
You're good to go.
We went to Northern I,
in August this year.
We went with 24 guys.
There was,
I want to say,
there was some optional golf on each end.
So if you would have played everything,
I think it was like 15 days,
26 rounds.
Oh.
some of the optional golf wasn't available to me.
So I bailed on all of it.
When I joined the trip,
so I was in for the trip, trip, trip part of it,
where you put your money in,
and those are the rounds that count.
That was, I played 18 rounds in 11 days, I think it was.
That's so much golf.
And it is like, go, go, go.
The only time we were playing 18 would be,
we had to travel.
So we were in northern, we started in Northern Ireland,
and then we ended up in Scotland.
So the day we took the ferry to Scotland,
you know, that was only 18.
But the other days it was like up at the crack of dawn, go try and find a swing quickly, run to the tea, tea off, get the shit kicked out of you, winds blowing, have lunch.
They're a little slow there, so you're rushing through lunch, and then you're running back to the tea, and then you're playing another 18 holes, and then you're rushing to dinner and have a couple drinks.
It was exhausting, yeah.
It was not a vacation.
I came back more tired than when I left for sure.
But I do love golf.
Yes, you do.
Yeah. I mean, out of 24 guys, there was only two guys. I would say there was maybe three guys that, like, actually have a golf swing, like actually know where their ball is going, where their swing is repetitive enough and they're good enough where they can do that.
Like there's scratch plus one golfers. Like, they can do the, I mean, the rest of us, it's like, yeah, I got it together here for six holes. One bad swing. I'm gone for the next hour and a half, just snaphooking it into the shit.
You're just struggling trying to get that net quad.
It's painful.
Well, it's too bad.
We'd love to have you up in Jasper.
We'll have more notice next time.
Next time, yeah.
Because actually, we've been on a trip together.
And you were talking about COVID.
It was kind of right before COVID.
We literally right before.
Patient won.
Yeah.
So I brought it back to town.
I think we went to Florida.
We did.
We took in a game in Florida.
Penteros.
Sunrise.
That was,
I think they won that game.
They did?
I think that was a victory.
They won that game.
Sunrise.
Sam Montembo,
the surprise start.
Yeah, he went in,
thought it was going to be
Bobrovsky,
but it was Montembo at the time.
It can be Matumbo,
isn't it?
We've got,
I found a little something in my,
I was cleaning out,
I was telling Pinder,
I had to clean up my phone.
It was all jammed up.
I had too much shit in that.
Okay.
Oh, there's a lot of videos here.
And I stumbled across something.
We've got the video and the audio.
And Alex is going to see if.
I have no idea.
Remember this one.
God.
It's like food here.
What do you take a picture of the croutines for?
What do you figure, Michael?
I'm really having a good time.
Yeah, buddy.
game.
Fucking terrible.
Oh, Michael.
Oh, man.
That game was fun.
That was a midday-ish start.
That was not a night start.
We had a brisk pace going, and that was day two, because we landed, got settled,
and it was game day.
That's right.
We got settled at the hotel right across the street there.
And then after the game, it was the bus to South Beach where we were passing Pink Whitney
around.
Oh, boy.
Yeah, we were flooring it on that.
That was.
Stocked at the liquor star, remember that?
Yeah.
Everyone got to know each other real quick on that one.
Yeah, that was fun.
Really fun.
That was my first time ever to South Beach.
Me too.
I'd never been to Miami.
I had another, yeah.
Ever.
I didn't realize when you're in Miami,
you have to smoke all the time.
So when we went to the club at like 3 a.m.,
you just have to be a chimney.
That was really cool.
You didn't really have to do that.
And then, because obviously that video,
we were in a suite and we were watching the game,
and you have that many people on a trip,
You lose people over the course of two, three days.
So you'll see somebody, hey, I haven't seen you in two days.
It's kind of one of those things.
And we were, maybe it was the last night.
And we were at the Clevelander, which is right on the beach there.
And we're in one.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah, I do remember that.
I'm starting to see some of the people that I came with, a little more reserved.
They were starting to, okay, he's gone and they're gone.
And there was maybe two or three of us left.
and then I look over and I see this guy comes in and he's got,
I don't even know how to explain this jacket that you bought.
Can you explain the jacket?
I mean, I bought it at some Cuban store.
It was really bright.
Like gold and shiny, shiny, yeah, like a blazer.
Tinfoil, shiny, yeah, yeah.
Almost like that sequel one I had on New Year's Eve.
Remember the photos?
One of the guys still has that jacket of mine.
But it was bright, right?
Yeah, it was bright.
It was like gold.
It was like black and gold and red.
and I never danced so much of my life.
Oh, dude, I looked over and all I see is this big,
this big redhead in this silver, like, jacket given the old,
you know, when you're that habit, you're just kind of,
hey, how you do?
Oh, God.
It was some kind of show.
I was soaked in sweat, too.
Some kind of show.
Oh, man.
And then we came home, and everyone, and then COVID hit about six days later.
And then I flew back to Florida to cover a year.
That's right.
You went back to Florida.
Oh, that's right.
That's right.
That's right.
That's right.
Yeah, that was right before.
I went from Miami to Mexico.
Did that tequila, Mexico thing.
Hung out in Wadalajara for, yeah, so I was in Wadalajara for, yeah, so I was in Walaara for four, then came back.
The next day I was on the radio with you guys, and the next day it was done.
Yeah, they played the Islanders.
Game Day Skate got called.
That got canceled.
The NBA game was canceled the night before, I think.
And that was it.
Good times.
Yeah.
And then the dream was over.
It was.
Straight to Pintyton to golf.
That's right you did.
That's so good.
I'm out of here.
Canadian tires got some great deals, man.
I didn't see we're coming that.
We're going to do the Pinda Report here momentarily.
Today is Friday the 13th.
Are you superstitious?
Do you worry about that kind of stuff?
No.
Hey.
It's my old man's birthday Friday at 13th.
Nice.
Oh, that boy.
Hey, are we going to pick some football games?
Yeah, we got to do that.
Yeah.
We got to do that.
Yeah.
Into the show.
But you need to be careful, right?
Because we've got a thing and you're working with a thing.
Oh, okay.
Gotcha.
We'll be careful.
Yeah, I got it.
Because that's why I'm not there.
It's all good.
But first, so Friday the 13th, tomorrow would be the 14th, one month until Valentine's Day.
I know what seems like, what do you talk about?
This month is going to fly by, dudes.
So we're going to be right back into it.
And I'm just putting it out there.
Put your mind at ease.
Vena Nova.
We did it for Christmas, Justin.
Saved Christmas for a lot of our fellas.
Labgrown diamonds.
You're saving money.
You're getting so much, either you're saving money or the money, the budget you have.
You're getting so much more for it.
And it's going to be a hit.
Don't worry.
Don't worry.
Go and see Justin.
Stephen Avenue place up in the second floor.
Vinova's there.
Great staff.
I've heard from a surprising number of people who have tech.
or been on Twitter. Hey, we went to
Venanova. We heard you guys talk about. Awesome.
Justin and his sister took great care of us.
Can't believe it. You can't believe it. Yeah. Your dollar
goes a long way. Venanova.com
one month.
T-minus one month to Valentine's Day.
So let's all just...
That's a good reminder. Just when we thought we were in the clear.
Take care of each other. Four weeks.
Okay. That's right.
Time for the Pinder Report. It is a presentation of
Village Honda. The new CRV hybrid is
on the lot and ready for you to take it for a spin.
We'll be talking a little bit about the CRV hybrid, maybe in the next week or so.
VillageHonda.com or in the Northwest.
Automall visit them today.
Time now for the Pinder Report.
Mike Cadino, last night, the second of two games and three nights in St. Louis between the Blues and Flames.
Off day in the middle.
Check out the Budweiser horses in the middle.
Last night, well, you're going to lose and walk away with one point in St. Louis.
You're going to get a win.
You're going to lose an overtime again.
Well, game tying goal early in the third from the Blues.
Pucker time, but the flames respond the right way they end up winning.
morning four to three.
Let's start with a little clip
from Afterburner last night
is you in Retro,
Rhett from Buffalo.
Here's some thoughts on last night's game
and a reminder,
wherever you're getting this podcast,
but YouTube,
Apple, Spotify.
Make sure you're linked in
and locked into Afterburner as well
for your commute to work
or late at night if you're night out.
Need a little volume, don't know?
Yeah.
I hope the whole show didn't go like this.
Like I tried to do.
I heard you talking.
Yeah.
I played it back.
No, we were just messing around.
Either way, I'm sure what we had to say
there was really good.
You look good.
I like your new club lights
that you got in the background.
Do you like that?
Yeah.
With the discotheque.
Sweet.
Let's move along.
Walker Dewer.
Walker Deer.
Walker Deer.
Third career game,
first career goal.
Congrats to the first South Dakota ever to play
in the NHL.
I don't know if we have audio from him,
but he described what he was thinking
as he had a chance to tuck home his first.
Oh, that's muted too.
We've got no sound here,
Alex, in case you're confused.
Read some lips.
fucking over everything. Everything's been muted. Try it again.
Is Fargo? That's South Dakota, right?
Let's get it together here. Fargo, North Dakota.
Jesus.
I'm messing with my boy here. Let's get it together.
Amidji?
Sioux Falls.
Amos, Minnesota.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Babe the Blue Wox? Where is that?
I'm not sure where he is.
All right.
Let's move along. So Walker scores.
Good to see him.
Energy. We talked about earlier in the show.
There's a role for a player like that.
I don't know how many of those guys you can have, and they have a few.
But if you want to get a little younger in the offseason,
that that was coming off your stick in the shot.
Yeah, you know, NAS made a great play to get it over to me
and just try to get it off quick and luckily it went in there.
Your dad said the other day that there was already a lot of kids
in South Dakota look up to you.
So I appreciate this a bit loaded, but scoring a goal like that,
can you maybe understand how meaningful that could be
for maybe the next way the players that do look up to you?
Yeah, I'm sure they see me doing it.
Probably puts a belief in their head, which it should.
I mean, anybody who puts their head down and goes to work can achieve a,
a pretty great thing. So yeah, hopefully
they can look at it and
dream big. Love it. Good stuff.
First South Dakota. Awesome, yeah.
Yeah, when I saw that when I was watching the game
last night, yeah, I wondered
that. I was like, is there anybody else from South?
I mean, which I wasn't sure.
North would be a ton, right? Like a slew of players.
Mine not. There'd be
definitely a few. Mine not. There we go.
Now we're getting closer. My not. Bismarck,
Fargo, Grand Forks. Those are the big towns.
There's definitely
North Dakotaans that played in the N.
Shell, but it's not like, just because there's hardly anybody there.
That's true.
I mean, the state has the same amount of people as this city.
Yeah, crazy.
You want a quick story?
A hundred million.
Quick story that isn't very good.
Sure, please.
You want a quick one that isn't good.
I like long ones.
I've been to Minot.
Went to the Minot State Fair.
Okay.
That was the first time I'd ever been because the state fair is a big deal.
Let's go.
All right.
Well, we went down to Minot and it was, it was a fair, right?
There was a lot of things going on.
And we were actually a guest at the radio station.
They brought us that, we want you to come down.
and see mine out. Okay, great. We had tickets to the evening, the cabaret or whatever down by the grandstand.
Smash mouth. Oh, wow. Right? This was right in the heyday, right? Of the smash mouth. And something
happened. The lead singer, you know, pulled aneurysm or something. He couldn't make it.
Oh. So they were scrambling at the last minute. They brought in Brian Adams.
I go. Wow. So Brian Adams, a drummer and one other guy. So there was a trio.
They just, I can only imagine how that would go.
I'm going to need a cabillion dollars.
Okay, please just get here.
We'll set a plane.
We need you here.
And it was one of the best shows I've ever seen
because nobody, nobody that wanted to go to Smashmouth,
wanted to go see Brian Adams.
So me and my wife were just standing there like row one
watching Brian Adams play for two hours.
It was incredible.
Nice.
My not.
Good job.
Why not, my not?
Why not?
My not.
And that wasn't that bad of a story.
Great spot in South Dakota.
There's he from in South Dakota.
Sioux Falls?
I'm on it, guys.
Who, Waukender?
Wocken there.
It's got to be Sue Falls.
Walking Deer.
Maybe?
Su Falls, what is it?
Rapid City.
Mount Rushmore is there.
Really?
I've only driven through South Dakota, so I'm not to.
But yeah, I have been.
Okay.
Anyways, you guys keep going on.
Well, I got some more geography for you.
Okay.
Geometry is right, I would say.
We talked about a huge game in Sweden tomorrow, going down in Dallas.
Yeah, what the hell are you guys talking about Sweden for?
I don't know.
We talked about it yesterday.
The flames were on a road trip,
and then Ryan told us,
yeah, because on Saturday,
they're playing against Dallas
and it's an early game,
and they're excited in Sweden.
They're massively,
there's a primetime TV game in Sweden.
Okay.
Here's the tweet.
The Swedish Twitter handled.
Hey, fun, Calgary, Schwarz.
And then they got all the career players,
Hawk and Loub, Ken Nelson,
Tommy Abilene,
Chris Juselie?
Look at that, exciting.
All those sweet is it.
Wow.
I can't believe my story was better than that tweet.
No, there's more.
Do you think that's good?
Is there?
No, last time the Stars and Flames played, our buddy Noah Adler,
tweeted it out.
Do you remember the last time he's played?
No.
You should.
Johnny remembers.
No, I don't remember.
Yeah, Johnny, because it was playoffs.
Did they play in the playoffs?
I think they play, because I remember Ointinger being a brick wall.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, score for their lives.
He was pretty good, that guy.
Decent.
They don't play you get this year?
If the Stars win tomorrow, then it'll be revenge.
Evie Stevie Stevie.
Evie Steele.
And that guy's in Columbus.
Yep.
Look at the scenes, eh?
That wasn't that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime ago for this franchise, doesn't it?
Yep.
It was last end of April, almost May.
Then things went a little down.
And remember, at the time, you were excited because the oilers were waiting.
B.O.N.
Flames were favors.
Man.
I thought that was going to be the Flames in Five.
Thank God I didn't put money on that.
I was confident.
Other NHL news,
there are some teams that are puckering.
I know it has been great in Calgary,
but there's some other markets that are Trey worried.
I want to see.
We'll start in Colorado.
Avalanche, lose to the Hawks last night.
Here's the athletic article.
It's the time to worry about Colorado.
They're missing a lot of guys,
and they're quite a bit back now.
Here's our boy, Dom, with the projected stats.
He's suddenly got them 60% to get in.
That's almost coin toss.
No good.
there's uh you'll see the purple line as the abs falling out of what looked like a certain
playoffs bought into the we don't know hey guys there's nothing wrong with winning the cup
then missing the playoffs the next year okay let's get that straight nothing wrong with that
nothing wrong with that anyone would know so okay and if you think things are a little dice in
Colorado you've missed vancouver where last night oliver ekman larsen sat in the rafters
making over 70 year with phoenix paying him some money beyond that and only like what five
four years left on that deal
it's hard to understand the extent to which the OEL
being warranted a healthy scratch in year two
after his acquisition when he's signed through 2027.
It's all but catastrophic.
So there's the good vibes in Van.
And J.T. Miller's in great spirits because he got his extension.
Let's have it. Let's check in with J.T.
How's it going?
There's an F-bomb, the stick.
Yeah.
I've actually watched quite a bit of Canucks.
You know what?
Right now, if there's a Flamed game and a Canucks game,
I have a hard time not watching the Canucks game.
Canucks score at time.
Because I'm like, I can't wait to see.
I watched that entire Pittsburgh game.
Oh, yeah, they got a three nothing.
I should have went and put some money on the penguin.
When there was 3-1, I put money down.
You see it on the highlight.
It's 5-2.
No defense.
Just about the halfway mark of the third.
They got to within one and then almost tied it.
Yeah.
The last time.
The question, what is, there's no way.
I'll tell you that.
Bruce Boudreau is, he is done.
That is for sure.
What is Curtis Lazare doing out on the ice when you need,
the goal? He almost scored.
The key thing is almost.
He's going to say almost goals. I've seen that category.
Nothing against Curtis Lassar. I got nothing.
I mean, nice guy and I have nothing against him.
But what, I mean, what is he doing out there?
They got some weapons. I didn't know he was still in the league.
Yeah, that's not who you want late.
He's a great guy.
Connor Garland could have been out there, but take a peek at what happened to old Connor.
The short guy, this isn't fair.
There is behind the net getting a face wash.
This isn't very nice through here.
This is a, bong.
No penalty.
Surgichov with us.
stiff right.
That was a pretty good shot.
WWE right there.
Bunk.
Love it.
Where's the ref?
Oh, right there?
Oh,
right there is.
Literally right.
Just looking at him.
Yeah.
But don't worry.
I didn't see it.
There's a silver lining,
Mike,
because with that loss,
they're only closer
to landing Connor Bedard,
which is now the dream in Vancouver.
It's fucked up playoffs.
Let's try to get Bedard.
There it is.
Like that.
Yeah,
it's our meme we love
with the Kinnacks
going down the podium.
I agree with that.
I got some Canucks fandom
on a little group thread
with some buddies from Van
and I'm like,
you guys should be hoping
they lose every game.
Yeah,
it's to be the best thing
for the franchise.
Best thing.
Honestly,
and Horvats have an amazing year,
but if he's going to score 50,
whoever has to pay him,
he's not going to score 50.
He's a great player,
he's a leader,
but like he's a 30 goal center.
He's not a 50 goal guy.
They're screwed with him.
Stuck with JT.
Oh, yeah.
Now, because you have so much disdain for Vancouver.
I almost hope the Padard goes there.
I wouldn't.
It's his favorite.
out there and bedard out there, just sticking it right in your tukas.
Oh, that's a tough division.
Get them out of division.
Chicago.
You need a star in Chicago.
They've got enough.
They have had a lot of stars in Arizona.
Yeah, 5,000 seat arena for a superstar.
That'll change.
That'll change.
Yeah, three, four years.
That's all right.
That time would be really good.
One of the great battles that is even bigger than a rivalry in sport is the battle of good
against evil. And we may even have it in Orange County as the devils are playing the ducks
across the street from the angels. So we could have the devil's angels clash that we've been waiting
for forever. Very nice tweet, Sam. Didn't know if it would get a laugh or not. So I was wondering where
that was going. Yeah. So I get it now. Like it's wrong sport. Have you heard of Nella Lepusanova?
She's 14 and she might be the best hockey player on Earth. Let's have a little peek here. So this is
the Michigan goal.
This is the women's world under 18s.
She's 14 playing for Slovakia.
Wow. There's a Michigan.
This young lady is special.
Putting on a show. This is like watching
young McDavid or young Gretzky stuff
playing way up.
This is this tournament for 17 or she's 14.
I don't like her passport, though.
That's the only thing. Wow, it might be good
for that sport, to be honest. The women's game
needs some stars not just Canadian and American. I'll tell you.
Big time.
So that's one goal.
She talks about it.
We can skip the talking part because she's going through a translator,
but it does show that she is indeed 14.
Like this is not a 25-year-old woman.
This is still a kid.
It's crazy.
Yeah.
So there it is.
Where's this tournament?
So there she is 14.
Crazy.
It just works out.
It still is normal.
I hate Ryan Pinder.
Guys an asshole.
Yeah.
She doesn't really know how she does it.
It just sort of happens.
Guy keeps crush in Vancouver for no reason.
Jim Benning her is.
She's pumped up, celebrating.
We'll get to the next club.
So that's, we saw the Michigan goal.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's go to the next goal because it's not like it's one thing she did in the tournament.
She's lighting it on fire.
The key is 14, as you say.
You feel like when you're watching some of these highlights, it's okay.
So she's one of the best women hockey players in the world.
She's 14.
Check this next goal out.
You think that the Michigan's dirty, but it's,
It's not like one-trick pony stuff here.
So here we go.
We'll tween it through the legs.
Backhand, forehand shelf.
Oh, wow.
And you're the youngest person on the ice by a mile.
Big selling.
Love it.
Are they winning games?
Do you guys know?
They lost the time.
They would have been Japan, I think,
but the one where she went in Michigan, they lost.
Through the legs?
How's she going?
Dimeon.
Really lighten up that Japanese defenseman.
There you go.
Now, here's the thing.
She plays with the boys in her domestic.
This is just internationally.
So the number she says,
putting up. She's 14. She plays in a Slovak's boys
U-16 league, 31 points in 10 games.
U-16 guys league? Yes. Wow. So she's playing with 15-year-old boys
lighting it up. Good for her. Awesome. Unbelievable story. Women games or
women's game needs it for sure. Totally. And like I said, we'd love her to be
Canadian, but it would also be nice if we have four or five countries that
really get embracing. It's better than those tournaments get better. Instead of
Canada, USA, to me, right? Yeah, they need more competition.
Okay, I think I got one final thing for you.
Mani Ramirez is playing baseball in Asia.
Have you heard this home run call?
Mani.
Let's have a listen.
Mani.
Just listen carefully.
All right.
Just like the ex-girlfriend that will ever return.
That's all is gone.
If you couldn't pick that up on the audio,
this ball is long gone, just like the ex-girlfriend.
Who will not?
who will never return. That's great.
And I don't know.
You did hammer that thing.
You know, sometimes you're tired when you're driving.
I don't know if you're an Elon guy or not.
Someone on the 401 just decided,
I'm going to kick it back on North America's largest thurfer
and have a nap in traffic while the car drives itself.
Have a look.
Well, they can do that now, right?
At least me this.
There's your Elon Mobile on the right.
Come on.
Dude, look at the traffic.
It's 401.
Stop and go.
Just saw and logs.
He's out of seat back.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, that's the world we're putting our kids into, Dino.
Jesus.
That's just out cold.
Right in the middle of a massive highway.
Village Honda does not condoing sleeping while you drive.
You want you to be awake and so.
Ten and two, everybody.
Ten and two.
That's your Pinda Report.
There you go.
Village Honda.
Your dealership for life in the Northwest Automol, VillageHonda.com.
The new Honda Accord, Redesize.
it will be there soon.
The CRV hybrid is there.
Go and visit them.
Your dealership for Life Village Honda.
Nella Lepusanova.
Remember that name.
Okay.
It won't.
I will.
I'll do that.
We,
uh,
I don't want to give it away because, you know,
there's going to be a bunch of people coming by.
We're going to be signing autographs and it's going to be a big.
A huge security.
But I believe we're going to a Montana's location next week.
Oh, that's right.
We are.
You know,
they're bringing back the daily deals.
and I don't want to say anything.
I don't want a spoiler alert,
but there's going to be more news coming next week
about Montana's.
Montana's is they are in.
As far as reviving and bringing back the watch party.
Get your buddies together.
Go out.
Don't sit in your own house.
Comey.
Get out of your basement.
Get off the couch.
Go see some buddies.
It's Montana.
I don't know the house anywhere.
You don't need to get all fancy and dressed up.
Montana's perfect for you.
Text your boys.
How far are we find the nearest Montana's.
Go in and there will be a daily deal,
daily drink deals.
I believe tomorrow.
I was looking at it's,
Mama's Lemonade if you slide by tomorrow for the flames and stars in the afternoon.
Afternoon lemonade for Molo.
Guaranteed that's strong.
Yeah.
They'll be in one by the first intermission.
Then of course on your Monday you got half price wings.
On Wednesday it's all you can eat ribs and there's more to come.
Montana's Canada's home for barbecue.
The barbecue and bar they're doing the smoke.
All of it in-house.
It's not like some trucks back and up and they're wheeling in.
ribs that have been smoked
eight hours earlier,
10 hours. No, no. There it is.
Look at those sons.
That does look good. Very nice.
Montana.
Ribs.
We are going to Jasper.
We talked about that.
We've got to get you in next year.
We'll give you more notice, okay?
We block that off because I feel like this is going to be.
I tried to make it work.
I got to be on the T to 29th.
Otherwise, it would have worked.
Are you, do you play much anymore?
Hockey?
Hockey?
Right now since I'm homeless
I got most of my stuff
Which is very little
But my hockey gear is in a
The only thing I really have going on right now
Is a storage unit?
Do we need to talk about this?
No, no, it's okay.
Is everyone okay?
You got shelter going to go for a drive?
We'll have a talk.
Columbus doesn't pay me anymore
But I did save.
The reason we brought you here
is not to come on this show
It's actually to have a talk with you, Mike.
We're your friends.
Anybody has an extra room around here?
So you did, because I thought you had multiple residents.
I thought there was one in it.
I did, but I sold it all during COVID.
Gotcha.
Yep.
So now I'm homeless.
So no, I haven't been playing a whole lot.
Well, two reasons.
One, my gears in storage, and it's kind of a pain in the ass to go get.
Yeah, fair.
Two, with the Wranglers, which I've gone to a bunch of Wrangler games, I actually enjoy going to the games.
It's good.
With the Wranglers in town and the Hitmen and the Flames and the Roughnecks, which I'm going on Saturday, our alumni skate doesn't happen anymore at the dorm.
Oh, shoot.
Yeah, that used to be a couple times a month, which was I would go to that every single time.
That's good, get to see the boys, get us.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, just light cron.
Actually, not like cron.
Oh, it's got to be.
Yeah.
He's lost some weight, though.
Like it was Glenn Cross was saying.
Yeah.
Or stage and he's like, it's offside.
I sit on the other side of the room every time when he's in there.
Oh, good.
So you're homeless.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
I'm the homeless-looking guy here.
That's right.
There was a guy who I thought would be.
Do you have any empties in the alley I could grab?
Because you had the N.
contract, multiple residences.
I know you want a brand new truck not long ago.
Still driving.
Yeah, it's right down the street.
It looks just like your guys' trucks, actually.
Nice and red.
It's perfect.
It's going your way, Mike.
Yeah.
COVID sold the place in Arizona because it was too far from Whisper Rock and the golf course.
And the market was hot.
I was going to say that's right time to sell it.
Yeah, it was perfect.
I got out of it and I sold, when I say I sold it, I sold everything.
I mean, the forks, the knives.
everything gone.
I just literally, I moved out.
I packed a couple bags,
put them on my shoulder,
walked out the door,
see you later.
Yeah.
So that was actually very liberating.
It was awesome.
There was a bunch of stuff there.
I'm just like,
do I really need this shit?
I'm like,
no, it's staying right here.
And then sold my place here in Mardaloupe.
When the market was kind of hot here,
I'm not a real estate agent or an economist.
I didn't really understand.
And I'm just like,
you know what?
I can get close to what I paid for this thing right now.
Get this thing out of here.
Because there was,
Lots of stairs and, you know, I liked it, and I really love this area.
But so I moved on and now I'm homeless.
Just sitting in the weeds here.
Let's see what these interest rates do.
So are you like sleeping in your truck?
Like you got out of place.
Girlfriend and I, she put her name and rented a place in Bridgeland.
I gave her a check.
I said, how long is the least?
It's a year.
Here's half.
And so, uh, yeah.
So I'm literally, well, I mean, my name's not on anything.
That's probably liberating us well.
It's crazy.
I'm going to go to Phoenix.
Oh, boy.
I'll tell you what.
I'm going to go to Northern Ireland.
Yep.
I could be out of there
25 minutes if I needed to be.
Because I look at my place.
You're like, it's a narrow in heat.
You can't leave everything and five minutes stops.
I got so much stuff and none of it.
There's so much that I want and none of it that I have,
but I have so much stuff.
There's so much stuff.
That happens.
My wife and daughter before Christmas,
because we were getting the Christmas.
Okay.
Now, instead of just,
packing everything back away. Can we
can we find a way?
Organize this shit. You know,
they say if you haven't used it in the year,
get rid of it. You don't miss it. So you can get rid of it.
And they're like, hey, you know what? We went through
and we really kind of, we, we did a great job.
Got rid of stuff? Yeah. Okay. Good.
So you're going and check it out. I went downstairs. I went
downstairs and what? When are you starting to
get, it's done? No, it's done.
Like, holy shit.
It's done, but there's not much gone. Is that you're saying? It looked to me.
like they took the stuff and just rearranged it and stacked it and more nice nicely than it was before.
My wife just couldn't cut the card.
We haven't used in years.
We have a stroller still.
My kids are fucking seven.
You know how insane that is?
Well, you know, some of that stuff is yours.
Why don't you get down there?
And why don't you start going through?
All right.
It's fine.
Don't worry about it.
Stroller.
So what do you,
what's your prediction?
What do you see happening?
Like in the housing market?
Just in life.
Like what am I going to do?
You got the girlfriend.
You get half the money down on.
Let's not go.
I'm going to get another place in Arizona and I will get another place here.
You want to get some close to Whisper Rock sorted first and then you can sort out the rest, I'm guessing.
Kind of whatever the timing is.
Like, yeah.
My place, my condo was like old town in Scottsdale, which is like 45 minutes of the golf course.
Ooh, that's a bit.
Yeah.
Like when I'm there, that's what I do.
So tough.
I hate that.
Yeah.
Feel for you, Mike.
It's too far.
You know what I mean?
So I'm going to move north.
Scottsdale is so far from the, oh, man.
It's near all the fancy restaurants near the first.
Not near the fancy golf course.
Can't have it all.
That's dangerous down there.
Old Town is back too for anybody who hasn't been there.
That is trouble every single day of the week.
That's another reason why I got to get out of there.
I drove down the main drag there.
I was old Scottsdale Road.
And there was that one bar.
It's like double decker and they're out in the sidewalk.
It was jumping.
Yeah.
Ramrodd.
It's packed.
COVID was like the greatest thing ever for Arizona.
Because other than for about five months,
I don't think they really care.
And so people were coming in from Washington, California, Oregon, Chicago.
And, yeah, old town.
I mean, if you want to get in trouble, you don't have to look far.
So where do you think, are we, like, is there a neighborhood or an area?
Can you give us a, I'd like to be no further, for people that know Scottsdale,
I'd like to be no further south than like Scottsdale quarter, Kierland Common Area,
which is basically kind of the middle of Scottsdale.
That's 20 minutes to the golf course.
No further south than that.
Yeah.
I mean, there's still trouble up there, but not quite as much.
And then here, I don't know, get something sooner or later.
And that's right by the...
That's more appropriate.
A little more appropriate.
Yeah, just a bunch of booze.
You want to do some...
Betts?
That way bets of the day.
We'll do some super wild card weekend, Mike.
Yeah, it's a big weekend.
I love this weekend.
I am jacked for the charges in prime time tomorrow night.
You are.
And look,
I don't usually hear you talk about the Chargers,
even though they're your team.
They're going to fuck it up.
They screw it up.
You're a charger's guy?
Yeah,
and it's like,
they had Rivers forever.
Well,
here's how they fucked it up already.
So they had the five seed clinched,
and they kept Joey Bosa and Mike Williams in,
who've been hurt like almost the whole year,
both left.
Mike Williams on a cart,
fracturing his back out for at least two to three weeks.
It was already clinched.
Get your starters off the field.
Oh, I didn't know that.
And Bosa will play,
but it's the scare.
And that's their best pass rush.
You idiots,
you've clinched.
and these guys have been hurt and are hurt bags,
their whole careers.
Get them off the field.
And now they go to Jacksonville without their best receiver.
They only got a stretched field.
Fuck me.
The Chargers.
I'm excited to watch them.
I was going to say you sound very.
My good buddy Joe Skobrin there.
Ricky Fowler's all caddy down sky.
He loves the Chargers.
He's from the area.
Yeah.
He's very,
he's very worried about this game.
Yeah.
First playoff game for both Lawrence and Herbert.
So we'll see.
They're going to be going bananas down there
Jackson.
I booked hotels in Nashville.
Tennessee just had to hold on against Jacksonville.
I booked the hotels and then collapse.
Collapse.
Not in Nashville this weekend.
All right, let's see it because I saw they pop up there.
Let's see the Pinder picks.
Okay, let's go.
I've taken the under on Seattle, San Fran.
I did that too.
I mean, San Fran can play some D and what do we say?
Big Nick Brock Purdy?
You know what it is.
He's been un-ed.
Unbelievable, but I just don't get the sense they're going to, if they win, I'm not expecting this a ton of points each way.
It's supposed to rain too.
Thank you.
Love it.
Get that West Coast winner.
Yep.
Also like the under in Baltimore versus Cincy.
I think since he dominates here, Baltimore's backup is dealing with health issues.
You might see a third stringer this weekend.
I don't see the Ravens getting much accomplished at all, but they do play a little bit of D.
I see Cincinnati by a lot, but it stays under that total.
And I like the Giants at Minnesota.
This was three, and I liked it more.
moved to two and a half, lots of money coming in on the Giants,
because it's a big game and it's Kurt Cousins and the Vikings.
Maybe they even do win.
I'm just going to take the two and a half points.
Yeah, I didn't have, I wanted to stay away from that Vikings.
What I do feel like there's, I just don't know.
You can't.
How do you trust Kirk Cousins?
How do you trust them?
It's Kirk Cousins in a big game.
This has been one of the safest bets in pro sports.
Primetime Kirk Cousins is no good.
So I'm not, I'm not super proud of these picks
because they're very square.
But I just, I have a hard time going the other way on any of them.
On the chalk here.
I'm taking favorites across the board here.
I like the under,
but I wonder in that Bengals game,
if they may just blow them out.
Yeah, I can see a big number.
I think it could be Sinci big.
Bengals have been really good here the last month or so.
So I'm,
I'm giving away nine and a half,
Sinci at home.
The Niners in that defense,
I just don't think,
and with weather,
I worry a little.
bit about the weather because now that's 10, but I think the Niners are real good.
They're rolling.
And I'm going to go with Buffalo because it's...
Skylonson.
Really going on the limb there, hey.
Sky Tom.
I know, I don't...
But I look at these games and I hate some of the others.
I just feel like if there's, if there's three that could cover big numbers, it's these
three games.
So I'm going to take those three.
I think they're going to, tomorrow's going to be on the field and that place can go bonkers.
Like, that's going to be a game you will want to watch.
I don't think it's close, but that'll be
jumping, jumping.
But I think Retro will be there too.
Oh, great.
He's not here.
He can be there.
Now, we don't have a board built up for your picks.
Do you want to make any picks?
You're on your phone?
Do you want to throw some out there?
You want me to pick three out of these?
If you want.
Or whatever you're feeling.
Okay, you know what?
I'll just go right down.
I'm going to go.
I won't do the over-unders.
Or just do the games.
If you want to do the games,
just give us your feel on it.
Just do the games.
I'll do the games with the spread.
I'm going to take
I'm not confident in any of these.
I'm going to take the Seahawks.
I'm going to take the points.
Just because they're playing
the third time or whatever
and it's going to rain.
I'm going to say within 10, hopefully.
I'm going Jacksonville.
I got no, I mean, getting points at home.
My Jags.
Trevor Lawrence is going to have a field day out there.
My Jags.
Oh, my Jags.
I remember those jags.
I agree with you guys on Buffalo.
I think they might.
win the whole thing, to be honest, with what's gone on, emotional.
They are going to be fired up.
So I think they're going to cover that.
I mean, I got the greatest Minnesota Viking on my T-shirt here today in case you guys didn't,
well, you guys didn't notice, Jim Klein-Saucer.
I am a Vikings fan.
Klein-Saucer.
Jim Kleinsosser, yeah, University of North Dakota.
Oh, Michael.
Yeah, he was with 13 years, that guy, tight end.
Wow.
A couple years.
I didn't know he was still with the team, but he was.
That's a large human, I'm guessing.
First NFL game I ever went to.
It was the Vikings in the dome at home.
the Cardinals on the way out, hammered,
and one of the best-looking chicks I've ever seen
was wearing a Klein Saucer jersey.
Yep, boy.
You know how to do it.
It's been in North Dakota.
That was years ago.
Tell you how that's been.
Klein saucer.
If the numbers three, what do you guys?
You guys had at two and a half?
Two and a half, but take three if you want it.
No, I'd rather take two and a half because I'm really concerned about this.
I'm going to go two and a half.
It's two and a half, I'm taking the Vikings.
If it's three, I'm taking the Giants.
And I'm not confident in that.
Ravens, Bengals.
I want to take the points.
But like you said, I mean, who is playing quarterback for the Ravens?
Hunley?
Huntley? Like, and he's hurt.
And he's hurt.
And it's the same thing.
They're playing each other back-to-back weeks.
This will be, like, I don't love that.
I know.
I'll go Bengals.
And this one.
Cowboys, bucks.
America's team against Tom Terrific.
I'm in a pool, like a couple of pools where you have to pick.
five games every week and against the spread and all this.
And I have been in these Buccaneer games most weeks.
And when I take Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, he's terrible, doesn't cover or loses.
And when I'm like, okay, these guys are trashed.
You're not going to win this game.
They somehow pull it out of their ass and I lose again.
So you know what?
Tom can kiss my ass.
I'm going to take the Cowboys.
Oh, wow.
How about them Cowboys?
I want to go with the Cowboys.
I thought for sure when that whole thing started there, you were going to be taking Tampa Bay.
I'm not confident.
Because that's kind of how I feel.
Yeah.
It's like he's going to find a way.
Find a way.
The Cowboys will find a way to Cowboy and Brady will find a way to Brady.
The Cowboys have the better team.
Yeah.
I'll go to Cowboys, but zero confidence.
Zero.
That's what I'm going to go with.
I got a pool this week, too.
I'm going to take those picks.
There you have it.
Have a good weekend.
Those are our best of the day.
I like that we got a Monday.
We got a Saturday.
The expanding wildcard weekends.
I love it.
You guys going to be getting after it this weekend?
Not myself.
No.
But this guy, his wife and kids have been out of town.
Oh, you're by your son.
I got that Mard Loop 3 on 3.
Oh, yeah, I'm going to be busy.
All the morning.
And then it wraps up at the finals of 233,
and that'll slide right into NFL football.
You're planning on making the final?
I just am going to, you know, want to be there to support the people that are.
Okay.
And I've GMed very nice.
So I've got another.
Are you going to be out there working real hard?
Oh, dude.
He's got two skills.
It's three on three, though.
Pretty good, too.
Hard.
Little gnats, you said?
Yeah, little nets, you got to have hands and you got to finish.
I don't know.
I haven't played this for it.
Okay.
Nice.
All right.
Well, I might have an extra ticket for the rough next game tomorrow.
Really?
Yep.
All right.
Keep me locked in on that.
Come for the party, stay for the game.
That's right.
You don't mind if I'm not.
If the engine's already warm when we get going there?
Yeah, seven o'clock start.
Okay.
I'm going for sure.
All right.
Yep.
I'll text you.
Yeah,
please do.
I'm going to get after it tomorrow for sure,
and maybe tonight too.
I'm going to go to that cold garden there
where you can bring the dog.
Yeah.
You know the move there is?
Smashing beers of the dog.
There's no food.
It makes me so happy.
So it's like if it's dog friendly,
you can't serve food, right?
That's kind of the deal with these places it's inside.
So you order the pizza there delivery
or walk down the street and grab it.
Dogs in there,
it's like that 70 show basement.
Everyone's in there just having a time
with all those old couches.
It's unbelievable.
It is good.
Yeah.
It's fun.
vibes there. Yep, big time. This shirt would fit in there.
Like, you love smashing beers with the dog.
God, I love smashing beers with the dog.
It's not even my dog. I love this dog. Girlfriend's dog.
Yeah, rescue Rottweiler mix.
Moose. He's great.
Well, I was going to say, come back.
Scares people when I need them too. It's perfect.
Yeah, I bet. We'd love to have you any time.
We know you're very close with slide bar.
Yeah, anytime you guys need a guy or want me to come by,
as long as I'm in town, I'm in the area for sure.
And I would love to get you with a Rett, too, because you're both phenomenal storytellers,
Life of the Party guys, but I would like to hear your stories of Rett and Rett stories of Kami
because we had, what was it, Serich a year ago dropped a red on us that we'd never heard.
And it was like, oh, wow, when he was just hammered and Red had forgotten all about it.
And it was like, so some of those, you get the juices flowing again.
We remember and get stories he hadn't heard before.
I'd have to think about it, too, because usually chances are, A, I wasn't around here long,
but, B, when I was.
chances are if Rhett was in one, I was too.
That's true.
But you never know.
You get together, something will come up.
Get the juices flowing.
I remember a few names.
Oh, yeah.
You guys got a bar in here?
Soon enough.
Well, no, but we do have a couple of couches.
It's nice in here, too.
I was going to say, if you are homeless, slide by, we'll let you in.
You can just sleep on the couch.
All the sports.
You can watch.
Great. I can move right in.
Yeah, we'll have you.
Is there a kitchen in here?
Kitchen in here?
Yeah, I don't need that.
What am I talking about?
Yeah.
See the neighborhood?
See the neighborhood?
That's true.
Awesome.
Good to see you, pal.
Good to see you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Both of you guys.
Stop sweating finally.
I'm about that perfect time.
Finally, the show ends
and I'm finally comfortable.
Have a weekend, everybody.
We'll be back Monday.
See ya.
Thanks for watching.
Rett would say the oilers suck.
Yeah, that's what he said that.
Perfect.
