Oh, buddies. Welcome to the show. Barn Burner here on a game day for the Calgary Flames. Always
a special and emotional night at the old dome. Rabbit, Rabbit, Wendy. Yeah, I know. You know what? I actually did it today.
I was up in the middle of the night. I haven't talked to anybody yet. Rabbit, Rabbit. So I got it in.
You got that in early. Yeah. That's real early. Well, and you know what else?
Stop waking me up. What else? It was very quiet. Not only Rabbit, Rabbit. You know what else happened this morning?
that invader at our house.
Friggin' elf on the shelf.
Barged his way in through the night.
I didn't even know it.
A bastard found our new place.
I don't know how he does it.
I guess it's his only job, really,
keeping track of kids, but still.
Oh, the internet.
Yeah.
Right?
There's no secrets anymore.
Elon and Bezos and the elf.
They know everything.
There's no stop in those guys.
Yeah.
Add the Rettster and it's pretty much the,
there's your secret society right there.
Do they have the elf?
in Buffalo.
Yeah, Derek is here.
Derek.
Yeah, Derek is here.
You named him after Derek England?
That's sweet of you.
I guess someone named him.
Deke, my idiot Greek buddy
that lived with me,
Madison Ave.
Deke.
Your favorite team is in town tonight, the Montreal
Canadian. The team that you longed to play
for almost did, but never did.
The habit of that.
Almost did?
That's right.
Doug's,
Doug's favorite team.
Dad's team.
I wanted to play there for Doug.
Now, were you closer?
Is that just kind of,
eh?
What do you mean?
Was I close?
I don't,
we don't get to decide that.
The GMs do.
I thought you were told at some point
that there was nearly a trade
or a situation where you would have gone to Montreal.
Toronto.
Toronto.
Oh,
yeah.
Me and Niedermeyer for Felix the cat.
Really?
Hmm.
I don't know that,
where was Felix in his career at that point?
I don't want like the old Kujo.
I want the prime Kujo.
Same thing with Felix.
No, it was like 96, 97 in there.
Toronto would have had Kujo, right?
That was, because that was the whole thing.
They had Felix Podvan.
Kujo is a free agent.
And Toronto signs him.
It's like, well, that's,
ratings on the wall for.
There's only one net.
That cat.
And you can't have too many goalie on the ice
because there's like having drink machines out there.
Isn't that Bob Hartley's thing when they had the Yoni Orteo,
they couldn't put him on waivers?
Because God forbid somebody would pick him up.
And he's on his route to Vesna Trophies.
Clearly.
Cup wins, you know.
Or Steinberg lost a lot of sleep those two weeks.
He sure did.
He sure did.
Many tears will be shed at the...
I remember watching Habs games when it was minus 1,000 in Frontier, Saskatchewan.
The wind was jumping across the prayers.
We had a big brown, massive brown pillow.
It wasn't a beanbag chair, but it was really big.
I mean, we were smaller too.
We'd get popcorn, but we had to stand.
We had to stand for O Canada.
There you go.
Had to.
Take off your tinfoil hat.
That's right.
Stand up for the ants.
So again, emotion.
Face the picture of the queen in the living room.
For sure. Yeah, for sure.
It's the Montreal Canadiens.
Olae, Olae, Olae.
The fans come out.
It's their one visit of the year.
have fans come out in droves. They enjoy the warm-up. They enjoy the anthem. They enjoy the whole night.
It's a top three night at the dome annually. It really is. See you there. Many tears to be shed,
as it is the return of Sean Monaghan tonight. Who I believe was a particular pet favorite of yours,
Dean, for the last five years of his time. Of mine. Okay. I think he was a show favorite,
to be honest. That is true. That is true. You just usually show a lot of restraint when it comes to, like, you know,
any sort of negativity.
You really didn't hold back with Sean,
who, to be fair,
was obviously not a perfect,
complete player,
but struggled mightily at the end.
Is this accurate?
Ask Red.
I thought it was a great signing.
I thought it was a great signing when he did.
I thought,
Trilliving,
I'm like, wow,
that is amazing,
30 goal guy for six,
under six and a half.
That's this.
Signing, what a time for it?
What a deal.
Yeah, that was fine.
And they signed Monaghan and Calgary
to that longer term deal.
2013, sixth overall pick, made the team first crack, never played in the
HL, scored 20 goals, seven seasons, 30 goals three times, and kind of looking at it
this, when you think about seven, 20 goals seasons, that's an incredible legacy.
You are a cornerstone franchise player when you have those kind of not.
numbers. Yet I feel like he's almost a forgotten entity with so with and it's because
Goddrow leaves and Kachuk and all of that. And of course his game deteriorated as we'll get into I
know. But man, the guy was here for maybe longer than you think. He was before Johnny and Kachuck
and all Bennett, all of those guys. He was here first and it was the signaling a turnaround of the
club really when you think about it. He was a, they picked six overall because they were
bad and that's where you pick is in the top six when you're bad and they needed him to be a
player and not only was that he that but he played right out of the gate as you noted which is
pretty rare at that slot shouldn't say pretty rare it's not easy to do i remember i remember high five
and the big human and sitting in a suite at one of the games they were playing l.A and if they
won they're making the playoffs or something in mona hand 1450 dro word dynamite yeah the dro made his
debut the last game of the year in monahan's rookie year he scored against vancouver and then the next
sensational rookie campaign and those two, you're like, wow, we got something here.
Buckle up.
This is going to be some fun hockey for the next decade.
His first season with the flames, 75 games, 22 goals.
Yeah.
And like, he probably a little strong calling a franchise guy at 20, but he's a solid
core piece.
I don't mean franchise guy at 20.
I just mean when you look back at, he had 720 goals seasons.
Yeah.
If teams have those types of guys, and we've talked.
talked about this, you hang on to them for dear life. The only way you get
centermen that score 20 or 30 is to draft them and then you pay them 10 million a year
and you keep them until they're done. Eighth all time and goals for the flames. That's
impressive. Sixth and all time power play goals. That's where you think of them is netfront,
power play. And then when the rules for overtime changed and you went to four and four and then
three on three and shootouts, a ton of game winners, shootout winners, overtime winners,
third all-time in game-winning goals in the franchise.
Now, the goal sounds impressive.
Oh, top eight.
He's not even halfway to Iggy.
But, I mean, he was a very reliable scorer until he wasn't when it got bad at the end.
The one thing he did very, very well is the hardest thing to do in the sport, which is score.
And did it immediately.
Yeah.
Get injured?
Both hips are done now.
His goals in terms of the seat, 22, year one.
31, 27, 27, 37, 31, 34, 22.
Yeah, it's a nice run.
And then the decline began.
10, 8, and this year, 5 in 22 games with the Habs.
And those two years you mentioned, there's injuries, there's also shortened seasons, pandemic, abbreviated season.
But it just, it became really difficult because you wanted him to do well, but you could see him struggling and hurting the team with his play.
and I don't know if the team could have done anything better about it,
but there was always the question,
like, is he hurt what's happening?
And you never really got clear answers until the end of the year.
And you're like, well, why didn't you just tell us?
Like, you took a lot of abuse he didn't need.
Do you ever wonder if they effed them up?
Because remember what we were talking about it?
It was like, what is his deal?
He's terrible.
Come on. Let's go.
If he's hurt, set him.
And then at the end, yeah, then at the end of the year,
it was like, yeah, he's going for seven surgeries.
Yeah.
He's doing his wrist and his hip and this and that.
But he was trying to play through and it's like, should you have tried or maybe would
that have saved the next?
You know what I mean?
Like, were you out there doing damage and making worse so that the next three years have
become obsolete and actually a detriment?
And then last year they finally just shut him down.
Well, and help me with my timing here because I'm old and forgetful.
When was it that they essentially finally shut him down and Trillivin came out with the big
proclamation that he,
He's done so much.
He tried to play hurt.
We're shutting him down.
He's still a part of this team.
He's coming with us on road trips.
This is he wants to play, but he can't.
We're not letting him that sort of thing.
That was last year, right?
That was last year.
Yeah.
The season before he played 50, which seemed short,
but they only played 56 that year, I believe.
So that's not the year that they shut him down.
And remember, there's a great article up on Flames Nation.
By Mike Gold revisiting some of the memories of Monahan.
His last real Flames memory was in street clothes,
getting a hug for Johnny in the tunnel
after he scored the game winner in Game 7 against Dallas.
And they were saying, you know, he's around the guys,
even though he wasn't playing the final third of the year or whatever.
The thing of it is, you look at these numbers,
and, I mean, you're kind of having some fun with it,
but if you watched the last two years,
there was not much left.
It was tough.
To the point, and again, you were, is he hurt?
What is going on?
Because he went from a guy.
who was nearly automatic.
I remember sitting in that room over there
doing the radio show,
and we would talk about his hands,
how great his hands were,
and his ability to elevate the puck.
That play on the power play
where it goes from the boards
to down below the goal out front.
Monahan was as good as anybody in the league
almost for a three, four years stretch.
High, low, net front, back in the net,
celebrate. Monahan on the power play.
And it was, we would remark about
how great those hands were,
high up on the stick,
Zing, he could get it in in a hurry.
And then it,
it happens so fast.
And the last couple of years,
he couldn't, I mean, he was missing the net.
His feet seemed to leave him altogether.
It's the hips.
Never a great skater.
Never a great skater.
And then the hip problems and all that.
There's never a great skater.
Well, and didn't he have surgery on his wrists and shit?
Yep.
Yep.
And then one hip,
then last off season,
the second hip.
You wondered if the wrist's ever the same.
same. And I'm seeing some headlines as he comes back. He comes back a star, things like that.
Like, he's playing third line center for the HABs having a nice year. And he looks like a functioning,
you know, piece on an NHL roster. I think Star is absolutely the wrong word to describe. It's been a
nice bounce back for him. But if you were going to say Sean Monaghan's a star, I'm like, well, yeah,
he scored 30 his second or third year in the league. He's going to, maybe he'll hit 41 year.
That's not who this guy is. He's playing middle, middle, six, center, and sometimes wing.
which is great.
I guess would probably do the same thing.
But if you think back to that 2013
when he comes in and then you get Bennett,
you get Goddrow,
you get chuck.
This team is lined up for success, right?
Bennett's going to push him down to a number two center
from on hand, right?
Like, oh, wow.
And then backlins your third line center.
Lindholm comes in.
Yeah.
And then none of them are here.
None.
Yeah.
And what hurts on this one?
Their roster.
Huh?
Go ahead.
Who has turned over their roster completely?
The NHL, like the flame.
Well, I'm in Florida, but flames are a big part of it.
And I guess the point I was going to make is that Chuck wanted out while boo and Johnny didn't want to resign.
This one almost hurts the most.
This one hurts the most because it calls.
cost you a first rounder for him to leave and get that cap space.
I think it helps that it's way down the line.
It's a team that theoretically should be good and you had another.
But yeah, you don't ever want to part with first, do you?
Because that's the first next year.
There's so many parameters to that thing.
Yeah, it's not this summer, but it could be the summer after,
but it might be the summer out.
There are all these conditions.
It's a nightmare to read.
You want to give insomnia, that'll cure it.
Read the conditions on the Monahan trade.
But I think the saddest part of it all is,
if Bennett and Monaghan don't get injured
and Bennett turns into, if Bennett's a
60 point guy, we're ecstatic, aren't we?
Like, is that what he's doing in Florida?
If he's 50 points. My point
about all this, I guess, what I'm trying to get at
is that none of them would have left if they all
had played the way they're capable
because they'd have won playoff series and
they'd have had success. I don't disagree.
The only way they leave is if you couldn't afford
them all. Yeah, probably.
I mean, I think even last summer
the way they're supposed to you make way. You find a way.
Yeah, yeah. And that's what all the teams do.
right? You find a way to pay Kuturov and headman and Stamcoaston and Point and Vasileski.
You find a way, yeah, you just, okay, well, we're going to fill a bottom half of our roster
with league minimum guys. You do what you have to do. But I even thought, you know,
Johnny's going back and forth on pre-agency Eve. Like if he signs, I think you still,
there's a decent chance you could get Kachuk pen to paper. But as soon as Johnny's gone,
it's like, okay, well, where's this team going? If I was considering it before,
this is only pushing me further in a different direction, right?
I'm not sure I'm a sold on that.
I think he had designs on being elsewhere.
At least you could take him into the year.
But it's certainly going to maybe give you more pause about staying, potentially.
So he's back.
He is at least the last.
Look at Johnny.
He looks like he's 12.
Monaghan's centering a line with, is it Yowell?
Is that what we're calling, Joel Armia?
Yoel Armia and soon-to-be-flamed Josh Anderson.
We keep saying that.
That's like the only Yokan, forever.
Yokinan was going to become a flame.
at some point until he did.
It'll be great because if he'll come when you like Yolkin had did when he's old,
when he's old, he's already kind of old.
He's not quite broken down, but he's already kind of got some miles on the chas.
I mean, if Josh Anderson's this guy, they really love, like I get it when he's great,
he's physical and he can score, but there's a lot of time where he isn't that.
Like, I think of that run in the bubble that the habs go all the way to the final.
Like he really wasn't that impactful aside from a goal here or there.
Like he never really turned into the guy the Habs thought they were getting.
in that swap. He had that one overtime game, right?
Yeah, what was it? Game four, the Stanley Cup final, when they were down 3-0, he scored a goal.
It's like, cool. So you're not getting swept. You're still getting pumped.
Yeah. And I think, you know, I'm speaking out. It's not even speaking out of school or having some
fun with it. I'm not sure that they're hot and bothered for Joe Shanderson.
There's a lot of term and money left, right? So yeah, Monaghan comes back.
Out of all of them, I think this will be a very warm reception. I think it's,
fans love Sean Monaghan. He's not overly...
I got a lot of respect for Sean Monaghan.
Right.
And especially the way the things went down.
Like, it's easy to ride the wave when you're on top of it, right?
But that wave crashed all over and he was still a positive guy.
He didn't whine.
He didn't complain.
No excuses ever.
Yeah.
Right?
Like, I think you have to give him a lot of credit.
The reason that we didn't talk about his injuries, because he didn't talk about his injuries,
you could easily have done that.
And I think we kept hearing and you saw how much he meant to his teammates because they're
the ones that would have known what he would have.
was going through and some pretty wrist hips like ugh and you look back how pivotal that season was
the 1819 year it's his best year as a pro 34 goals and 82 points in 78 games and then five games
in round one and out it went from penthouse to outhouse for that whole nucleus so fast yep
that line wasn't good enough lindholm played right wing that year with him and goddrow and
Jordano had a rough series.
Like, it wasn't good.
And here we are now.
Fast forward three, four years, and everyone's gone.
Yeah, I got a highlight from the Pender Report that we'll knock your socks off because
it's less than a year ago.
We'll have fun watching that.
We know that they will be wearing Blasty again tonight.
There you go.
Blasty is in game two of 12 for the black Blasty jersey.
What's the anytime Dylan Dubay will pay?
I looked this morning, I was going to go with it.
I had it here.
It's two games in a row, too.
He scored, isn't it?
One plus 250.
It's big.
Yeah.
Might have to dance there.
Blasty tonight and then the reverse retro on Saturday against Washington.
Which is kind of a blastie, but it's got the pedestal and the little things on the sleeve that they're hard to see on TV, but up close pretty cool.
So blasty tonight and then three straight with the reverse retros, the Washington, Arizona, and Minnesota home games.
There you go.
If you like the black color, skis.
game. This is a week for you. Yeah, which definitely
really has an impact
on tonight's game. Now, we talked
about it yesterday. I had it written down as a question,
but we know it, we know the answer
now. Who the netminder will
be for the Calgary Flames? Would it in fact be Dan
Vladar? When he go for his fourth start
in five games, it will
be Jacob Arxtram. Brett?
Thoughts? I thought
I thought you guys had guaranteed
that Lidar was in and we'd already
discussed it and made that decision. We supported
that notion that he could go. What kind of
rotten person would go behind our backs and flip-flop on something that we've already decided and discussed
i mean the real interesting thing for me isn't like oh marks from starting it's like well if he plays
okay and they win like who starts saturday that's really more intriguing to me i'm more intrigued
i think what's intriguing if he plays the bed yeah well then it's easy you go back to lidar but then
it's a thing right now it's well you know you're going to play you're playing oh you're good like but if
Vladar starts to
noticeably be better
if he hasn't already
then it's easy then it's
well it's easy but it's hard but she's a controversy
then it's a thing
then he would be playing right now
because he's playing better and getting the wins
they don't have any back to backs till next weekend
we talked about it it's every other day for a while
here and when was the last time
Markstrom played it was the Friday matinee
against Washington and prior to that
like a Philly.
That was some Monday, maybe.
Flames of once, of course, they went against Florida the other night,
and that snapped that losing skid.
They've gotten better at home.
You remember the start.
They had that 4-0 start, then went 0-3-1,
and we were kind of belly-ache and about it.
Well, you pissed away that good start.
They've now won three straight at home.
Their home record is 7-4-1.
Yeah.
Because remember Alberta, it's going to be tough coming through Alberta again,
and then they lost four straight.
That was on us, I guess.
Buffalo comes in and beats all three teams.
Bees the shit out of the Western Canada.
Maybe it isn't going to be tough in Western Canada.
They were too long at home, remember?
Yeah, yeah.
Too long at home.
Well, this is what, game two of a five game homer, so.
They didn't leave Alberta, their first 10.
That was different.
They literally didn't leave the province for their first 10 games of the season.
Yuck.
Ancient history now, though.
It is.
How do we feel at the HABS?
They seem plucky and ready to come back to Earth in most.
people's opinion. Like fun to watch, hardworking, but like, yeah, come on. This is,
reality's going to, gravity will bring you back here. Only because it's
close to where I'm at. They're very similar to the sabres, I think. Especially
that play and try, but they're not. You can
see what they're doing. Not that. Yeah. Right? They get first overall to go
Slavkovsky first overall. The top line is Cole Cawfield, Nick Suzuki, Kirby
Doc. He came in in the offseason. Christian Dvorak, who was going to come here
to play with Kachuk. Remember since they were London 9th?
teammates. Evgeny
Dada Donov, Brendan Gallagher.
Kind of the old guy all of a sudden.
But their back end,
get a score card or a program
tonight. David Savard and
Michael Matheson are your top pair.
Matheson came over from Pittsburgh in the swap
for
Jeff Petrie.
Jeff Petrie, thank you. And
Savard won a Stanley Cup
on the third pair with Tampa. He's getting a lot more
minutes in Montreal. Caden Gully,
Joel Edmondson, and then
Jordan Harris, and Jonathan
Kovasevich.
I believe you pronounce it.
It's Kaden.
Googly, googly, googly.
Again, I like
you like Suzuki.
He's getting paid.
Cole Cofield. I look this morning.
Tonight is his 100th career game.
He broke in,
remember, came in out of
college, Hobie Baker guy.
Was it was electrifying.
The following season came in,
which was last season.
30 games.
One goal and I'm trying to read my writing,
was seven assists.
So eight points in the first 30 games.
Coaching change.
Marty St. Louis comes in.
Martin.
The next game, he scores.
So one goal in the first 30,
he had 22 in the next 37 to end the season.
Short guys know how to talk to short guys.
I guess.
It's obvious.
Are there any long-armed defenseman around?
Get you on the bench?
Sarci.
Turn him into Norris guys.
How long were Valamaki's arms?
Couldn't they have, had you talk to him?
No, too short.
We wouldn't have seen I'd go.
Okay, that's fair.
Since St. Louis took over as the head coach of the Havs,
Cole Caulfield, 59 games, 56 points, 34 of them goals.
So he's got 35 goals and 100 games.
Decent.
I mean, for your baptism to the best league in the world?
Yeah, that's unreal.
And, again, we're waiting for Broberg, but.
Okay.
Looks a little bit one-sided there.
We're going to jump on a defenseman here because we need D.
You could probably trade Confield for a really good D man right now.
That's the matchup tonight at the dome.
We'll get our thoughts a little bit later on.
What the hell is he talking about being?
It's backpack.
It's always backpack.
It's an Oilers shot.
Oilers took Philip Broberg.
They could have taken Caulfield.
Or a degris or Baldi.
So is that a Cherelli thing or is that just an oil thing?
No, that's Kenny H.
Okay.
So that's Kenny Holland.
They need a D.
So obviously you draft for positional need down the road.
They did need D.
They do need D.
And again, if you had Zegger-Sercofield, could you trade them for a D?
If they drafted a forward, even if they drafted Zegger's or Coughfield, be like,
yeah, but you're a defenseman.
Why do you keep drafting forwards?
You'd find a way.
That was an off-the-board pick.
It was consensus odd that they passed those guys that were much better consensus picks.
You know what?
He's never been wrong out of his backpack, so I will trust him.
It is a backpack.
back at him. It's not really a flimsy attempt at something. Yeah. I mean, it's the Flames and Habs tonight.
Cole Cawfield Game 100. How is Philip Broberg entering the chat? Right? Like, how does that happen?
There's only one guy. Right there. I'm free for interviews any time on Oilers Nation every day.
If they need any help unpacking these things. Thursday. Don't phone me. Today, coming up on Monday, the Flames
We'll play Arizona.
They'll have a game in between there.
But that's your next chance to win tickets.
Oh.

The Elf auction started yesterday, Top Shelf Elf auction started.
And a new one on the board today.
There it is.
There's Retrow.
It's good.
I like it.
Greg Keller, it took him about an hour before.
And he was already on board.
He's busy.
He's like, because we're doing the donations and he's going to, I'll talk about the gift cards in a moment.
It took him less.
We weren't even done.
I donated.
I got to get.
So it's Greg, he can't help himself.
He had to plan the Bennett coronation with Florida in town.
But once that was off his place.
Yeah.
Truth be told, a lot of this, this whole thing really kind of started with Greg.
It's true.
It's a story for another day.
But either way, Greg is just, his heart is in the right place.
Bon Ton meat market experience is now on board.

Because you could get the pig, but then what are you putting it in your instant pot?
Like, what are you doing with that thing?
You got to be able to, you dig in a hole and putting some coals in there.
You need to cook the thing.
The pig roaster and the pig invite everybody because that's a ton of a grub.
Well, we did the pig roast up.
But Bontan, I want to say, like, five to six years ago, Rhett.
And I, like, it's quite a scene.
I didn't.
What we did?
Two or three of them?
He was like, oh, man.
Like, this, you cannot beat that.
This is a...
Rett was in there chewing on pig's ears and had the pig hoof in his mouth.
Yeah, your jowl.
Yeah, what's that called the, uh, not the hoof, the...
Snow?
What's that called?
Jib.
Hot dog?
No.
Delicious.
No, the ankle bone.
The, uh...
Hawk.
Hawk.
Well done.
Hawk.
So right now, you can go to,
there's a couple ways you can do it.
You can go to nationgear.ca and go through the Flamesnation link.
You can go to flamesnation.ca,
and on the top, you will find the drop-down menu.
But here's a look at it, nationgear.ca,
flamesnation page, you'll find the auction link.
And there is what we have up for grabs.
And I feel like there's going to be more,
but that's where we sit.
As of right now, the Bonton Pigout,
experience is up there.
No bids yet. Let's go.
Stampeters' experience.
It's been up for about nine seconds.
Let's go.
Hurry up.
Stampeters, four tickets to the home opener,
four retro jerseys, a parking pass for your tailgating.
Oh, baby.
Needs.
Slide next to Greg, if you want some good eats tailgating.
That's a secret move.
Four pre-game sideline passes and $100 in food and beverage.
Current bid is $4.50.
That's like the jerseys.
We haven't even got to the tailgating and the tick.
Come on now, people.
Let's go.
I'll tell you what to do.
You buy both.
You buy the first two.
and tell Greg,
he'll be at the stamps game
and we'll bring the pig
and the roaster
and have one hell of a lot.
Honestly,
like it's sometimes
you're like,
he contributes nothing,
and then there's these moments
where he's a genius
and it's like lightning strikes
out of the sky,
and you're like, perfect.
I don't know what you're telling you.
That's unbelievable.
It's lightning in a bottle.
ATB Financial jumped on board.
The top shelf experience,
this is a big one.
We're going to have the three top bidders.
Oh,
are each,
so there's going to be three winners
from this one.
And already the current bid is,
up over 500 bucks.
You can have it.
We're going to go to a game.
It's going to be me.
It's going to be you.
It's going to be a Flames alumni or a celebrity of some sort.
And John Winwick from ATB Financial.
He'll tell you he,
what did he invent the tow drag and how he can,
you know,
all that sort of thing.
Express is a Buick.
When John stops, you know,
going on and on about it,
then there's going to be a great meal,
cocktails,
unbelievable seats,
post-game reception.
While you're having dinner,
a member of the Flames is going to come in.
They have a little kind of Q&A session.
It is awesome.
So we will be taking three pairs of individuals, three winners, six total, coming to dinner with us, the Top Shelf experience.
There you go.
Cavalry FC on board, a training session, meet and greet, lunch with the team, the whole smear over at Atko Field, four tickets to an upcoming game, parking passes, some scarfs.
Calvary FC taken care of us as well.
the team builder experience ATB in for this one as well thanks to them for being so generous and gracious on the 10th of march flames take on the Anaheim ducts 25 seats in the press level 25
it's press play there's your work party and then you had it and here's your voucher for some for food and pop awesome take uh you know you're all your friends red
friend boss just wheel it right in i'll say i will only take 23 because i want some space in between me
Maybe 22, then one on each side.
Didn't he used to do that on flights.
He'd buy the middle seat next to him,
just so no one could sit in it.
Still a sort of topic.
The Cody Snyder bull bust and experience.
This one's gotten a lot of play online
because you can't buy it anywhere.
The event is sold out, and even if it wasn't,
you can't get this thing.
You and me are going to be your host.
This is going to be awesome.
I can't wait.
In addition to us, up for grabs,
four VIP.
tickets, VIP parking, access to the pre-event reception inside. They've got the tunes and everything's
going. Food, drink vouchers, preferred seating once the event starts. You're going to meet Cody Snyder.
He is a world champion. Up close and personal with the balls. They'll be blown. Balls in the champ.
You ever want to have snot blown all over you? No, get your wallet out. I saw, I sent you a book.
I know you did. We'll mix it in. Yeah, we'll get it in. And then afterwards, you go back inside. It's all
the gray eagle. They go live band, concerts going, it swings. Current bid there is 400 bucks. That's
going to go up big. And then somehow, some way the final one, the barn burner experience is,
what hell's going on here, guys? I don't know. It's somehow the top bid as of right now.
You're going to sit on some secondhand couches and watch some dummies that haven't show.
It's not secondhand. They're brand new. Wolverine will come in here, it'll slit your throat.
Come in here to the barn burner studios. Meet us. Hang out.
We'll do a show.
You get to watch it.
It'll be underwhelming.
Some Flames Nation gear.
Then that night, we're going to go out for dinner.
We'll pick a place.
We'll bring along a guest, a friend of ours,
and we'll sit down and have some grub.
We'll tell stories, lots of lies, lots of booze.
I don't think you should.
Are you talking dinner supper or lunch?
Like, what's dinner?
Usually that's late, right?
That's the plan.
Because I was going to say,
if I'm going to watch this crap, I've got to get boosed up, loaded up, sitting there listening to you two dopes.
And then I want to carry on, so I don't want to wait until dinner.
Current bids at 760.
You want to do lunch, we'll flex for 760.
It's, we're easy.
Yeah, I mean, I would say go do breakfast if you want.
I don't give a shit.
Yeah, I'd be happy to go and do dinner.
Breakfast and lunch.
I love breakfast.
We've got to have a breakfast sponsor in there.
Come on.
All right.
We'll leave that on your desk then.
You go hunt a breakfast sponsor for us.
So two different ways you can go.
Flamesnation.ca, you'll find the tabs on the top,
or you can go right to nationgear.ca and go in through Flames Nation.
The other thing that we have going is the donation option.
We would, maybe that's not, it's just kind of not your thing.
There it is.
Flamesnation.ca, you'll see the top shelf elf donation page.
You can pick the one-time donation 25, whatever, or put in your own,
say it's five-bought, whatever it is.
throw it in there, put in your info, and then there you see, confirm your donation.
Don't get sucked in there.
That's the thing I was kind of telling you about.
It's the tip that you don't need the tips.
Let's see if it works.
You can just put in a zero there.
Type your card in there.
Yeah, yeah.
So anyway, and then if you do that, you're in.
And all of your money is going directly to closer to home, directly to the adoptive family.
And then at the end, we're going to go through, we're going to comb through all the names
and randomly pick a whole bunch here.
We got some prizes.
We're getting more every day.
And you're going to be a winner.
And you can see it up on there for every bid of more than $10.
Yeah.
South Street Burger is going to give you a voucher for a free burger at any one of their Calgary locations.
So if I was a cheap prick and I just donated $10, I get a free burger, help a charity, and get lunch.
That's right.
That's a steal.
It's decent.
There you go.
We got a couple weeks.
The 15th of December is kind of the date we're looking to wrap.
things up. We had Jillian from closer to home on yesterday. And then they will take all of the funds that
not only we bring in, but just the entire initiative, buying gift cards, delivering them to the
families. The need is far greater than the supply right now. She said what, up 40% from last year?
Which was up 40 from the year before. So yeah, they're north of 800 and they have just north of 200,
I think. We're going to close that gap. Our guys are great at this stuff. Let's do it. Love it. If you can help,
we'd sure appreciate it if you would.
Limization.com.
Follow the links.
Easy.
There you go.
Let's do some ascarat.
How are you feeling?
How's your medulla oblongata?
You got enough blood in your head?
Are you sober?
Are you ready?
You high?
Not high yet, but I can get there if we needed to.
Madula, is that in your brain?
Is that a Jerry McGuire?
What movie is that?
Madula abla.
Oh, that's the water boy.
With Hope Street, you won't waste or use your own valuable time
finding or managing tenets.
you'll get those premium rental rates and you're going to sleep easy,
knowing that your property is safe and protected, book a virtual meeting online,
let Hope Street get to work for you.
They are, in fact, Canada's property manager of the year,
locations in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary, the website, Rhett,
Hopestreet.com, CA.
That's right.
Very good, yeah.
That's right.
Hey, Rhett, this is from Tyler.
Can you please explain and detail the story about the trip to Nashville when you ended up
getting an IV in the morning.
Was that Nashville?
Yeah.
Be it IVs the morning of their flight back.
I think it's a given now.
Any sort of multi-day
bender, you need to throw an IV
bag in your arm before you get
on the plane and come home. That, you know,
the air, get up in the air, you get dehydrated.
Do you want them to stay hydrated? That's what it is.
Yep. I don't know. There wasn't much to the story
other than Pinder made his drink for three days in a row,
and I felt crappy and I ordered an IV to the hotel.
I certainly made us drink on the first night, but everyone was drinking anyway.
And then I wrote it off the rails like an idiot because it was my first time in Nashville.
And it's really one of those things.
You turn into an idiot your first time in Nashville.
Day two, I was ready to go right back to the room and get some rest.
And Rett's like, hey, a buddy of mine's band is playing at 10.
And we're like, 10.
Jeez, that's early.
We'll just go for a song.
And we didn't stop.
Yeah, there's many stories from that trip.
What a place.
It was weird.
It was my first time to Nashville, too.
but I managed to make it in time for the show the next day.
Yeah, but that didn't mean you weren't to, you know.
And yeah, then there was dude.
Dude's band was on at 10.
10 a.m.
I tapped out, went back to the hotel to have a sleep after the show and after breakfast and all of that.
And then I wake up and I look at my phone and Rhett is texting me.
So a member of the trip, one of our good friends is, I mean, it went from Caesars to rum and coax to straight shots.
God's fast. Game over.
Yeah, you got to come and pick him up.
You got to get over here and pick him.
Do I?
Okay, is that how it's good?
So I need to leave my leave here to go and pick up this guy who you've filled
full of rum and coax all day.
It's the division of labor.
Rhett brings the drinks to his table.
You pick him up off the floor.
It's very simple.
We do different things.
We're specialized in different areas.
We all have a role.
Play your role.
Stay in your lane.
There was one person flooded their hotel room.
They turned on the bath.
to have a, sort of the bathtub to have a bath,
fell asleep, flooded the, the hotel room out.
Another guy just put his, when he checked into the whole.
We're only one man.
Yeah.
When he checked into the hotel, he just slapped his credit card down.
Yeah, I'm going to have to, what's the charge for smoking in the room?
Whatever it is.
You can take it out now.
Just charge it right now because I'm smoking in there.
So that was done.
Oh, my God.
One other guy walked right head first into the street sign and busted himself,
wide open.
A high-ranking official
from another market.
Before we were,
before we'd had a drink,
we left about three or four people
at the airport.
Yeah.
The bus left.
It was fantastic.
And then I tried to get home
to get a little bit of rest
before the game that night
after the 10 a.m. concert.
Stopped in at a Mexican place,
got back to the hotel
just in time to, you know,
get ready to go to the game,
and woke up on the crapper
with the second intermission blaring on my TV.
Hustled in for the third.
That's your fault.
I was tired.
Toilets are so comfy.
If you're not careful, you'll just zone right out.
Well, and then you need five minutes to get the pins and needles out of your legs to move.
You think you're going to die.
You need amputation.
Ah!
I think there were at least three people.
Went to Nashville to see the Predators and the Flames.
There were at least three people that never saw the game.
Yeah.
We didn't take a thousand people.
It was probably 20-ish.
Yeah.
Like a third of them maybe got to the game.
You got there late.
I got there.
I was like a 15% like
wear off like a depreciation of
you know
what a trip
it's good times
could use one of those IVs
turn them down
rookie move and and
and uh pinder broke one of our clients
ribs
yes oh yeah um fractured
fractured ribs
it was a diving spear on a bowling lane
ruined his trip
what
pots you are
these stories are phenomenal
but I
Can't laugh.
It kills me.
Oh,
oh,
would you like to see
Steve Miller ban tonight?
Okay,
I'll buy tickets.
You went,
that's great.
You went to the...
Steve Miller.
You went to see Steve Miller.
I love Steve.
The Ryman auditorium.
Yeah.
Went to the church to see Steve Miller.
It was unbelievable.
And the guy that broke,
you broke his ribs,
he bought the tickets.
Yeah.
I felt bad for that guy.
He was afraid I'd break the other half.
Because he was trying to buy tickets.
Great guy, kind of a low talker.
And whatever...
Please don't make me laugh.
Please, guys.
I agree.
I agree.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Poor fuck.
Hey,
Rett.
We have so much to do.
Look at the time.
I know.
Hey,
Red.
I got to go.
I don't have time to Lilig.
Oh,
see you later.
Your contributions are huge.
What's the ODR situation in Buffalo?
Terrible.
Terrible.
I mean,
it's cool out today.
But look,
I mean,
what are you going to do with that?
Yeah, you're going to mow it, you know, put ice on it.
You still mowing that lawn?
You clicked your thing off there.
You're muted.
Dope.
Yeah.
Tough to do ask, bro.
Oh, yeah.
There you go.
Okay, so what?
The dummies, some of the dads, the dummy dads on my kids hockey.
Oh, yeah, I'm going to put the boards up here over the next couple days and get the rink ready.
I'm like, what are you talking about?
It's green grass.
Like, you're literally going to have to mow again.
They're talking.
about the rink. That will get three days
of outdoor rink.
You left a really good outdoor rink market for
a shitty one, Rhett. I question not
just moving to Buffalo, many things.
Hey, Rhett, I have long donkey arms like
you. What do I
do to get them looking good and where do you buy
your shirts?
I saw online the other day
something called Dad Bod T-shirt.
So I've ordered a few of those
that let you know how they go.
I feel like he's a sleut.
leave roller upper. That's the way you can shop
off the rack. Otherwise you're hooped.
Just roll the sleeves.
You gotta have smokes and roll them.
I was there one day.
We were on a trip somewhere.
I forget where we were and we hit one.
We hit a store and it was,
let you try these soon.
Yeah, no, I don't want to try them.
It looks good.
These are great deals.
It's like, no, nothing fits me.
I'm like, come on.
Nothing fits.
Arms are too long.
That's when we were losers in Palm Springs
and we went shopping.
Was it Palm Springs?
Can't remember.
La Quinta.
What was the best restaurant you ever went to with the team or whatever?
You guys go to fancy restaurants.
What was the top?
Wow.
They're all high end.
I mean, I remember the first time I went to a steak joint in Pittsburgh with the Florida Panthers.
And screwy goes, okay, everyone, 100 bucks.
And I laughed at him.
I said, because I knew he was a joke.
right I'm like kiss my ass hundred bucks what is it he's like what do you mean I'm
like there's no way it's a hundred dollars a hundred dollars for a meal so he
showed me the bill I'm like I will never eat out with you people again lies a little
shell shocked from the pricing from Saskatoon I didn't charge that at the
bonanza back in Saskatoon fudrucker's a little more affordable to Rosso Bob
Probably, though, the best meal I ever had was in Vegas with Jonathan Taves and the Stanley Cup on the balcony.
Balejo.
The watershoots up.
Yeah.
The Balegeo.
And he was so gross.
And here's the other side of that story, because it's sushi, right?
And I hated it.
Warner gets invited via agents and something like this, right?
Anyway, hey, you should come on up.
It's the thing.
Gavin a nice little get together.
So he goes up.
Turns out it's Taves.
the cups there.
It's a big deal.
Having to party.
And you can imagine how torn our friend Rhett, our animal must have been,
to leave the free, like, world-class, like, top in the world sushi joints,
to leave that behind because the cup was in the room.
I met him downstairs.
Like, what have you been to?
Where are you been?
What are you doing?
Stupid cup is there.
We're having this.
Jonathan Taves, Stanley Cup.
Fuck that.
I'm out.
Wait, what?
What are you saying?
Oh, yeah, it was a sushi place.
Sushi's unbelievable.
So that's the best sushi I've ever had in my life.
But, you know, fuck Dave's the cup.
I'm that fucking hammer.
He was so bitter.
Like, is it too late to go back?
I'm not going back.
I've got the stupid cup and I've got.
Those wounds are deep.
They are.
They don't heal.
Yeah.
I mean, everyone talks about winning.
I feel like losing the cup is the more powerful experience.
Holy shit.
What was your, or did you have one?
A moment while you were playing or near the end of your career where it was like a ooh.
I might be done
I had many because like
even in Buffalo
Lindy Ruff had to talk with me
and he's like
Jesus
it's like five years left
How long were you in Calgary
We were in Jersey
And he said he's saying
We might have to help
He scratch you know
Jeez
You used to be a really good
Backward Skater Rhett
And you're just not getting there
Kiss my
Come.
Little did he know.
There were a few moments.
There were a few moments.
He just had to change a game and play a different style.
Those rule changes would have been tough on you, too, 0506.
Because you defend totally differently in the neutral zone, right?
To the stay, Pender, people ask, well, teach these kids how to defend, and I'm like,
not allowed to defend.
Just grab the guy and hang on.
There were a few, though, right?
I mean, Darien Hatcher went from a highly paid stud defenseman to poof, cloud a
Gone. Where is he? Is he here? He was here a minute ago.
Houdini.
And there's no guarantee that when Lindy had that chat with you that it was your last year in Buffalo either.
But let's assume that it was your last year. You played four more full seasons essentially, plus a lockout in Calgary.
And a season where he didn't get on the ice city. We're still getting paid.
Jeez, gosh, I might be the end of the road. That's a good play stand right there.
Speaking of ending the road. Hopestreet.com, C.A. Property Management of the year in our
country locations in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Gallagher.
They should open a branch in Nashville.
We'd be happy to go to the launch party.
Right.
Just kept chairman working on that.
New sponsored time.
What?
Do we have a bell or something?
Do we have something that, uh, ringy dinghy, something to welcome.
Hey, come on now.
That'll work.
That's, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Dr. J. Patel, come on down.
They don't, do they do they say, come on down?
that's coming on down.
Well, the family feud.
Yeah, the old guy would have done that.
Oh, no, because it's the voice guy that does anyway.
Rob, Roddy.
Yeah, but that's family feud ding when they're flipping them.
Oh, that's true.
It is.
Yeah.
So you're not coming on down.
That's the price is right.
Mixing two different games in my head there.
And what's the other one?
The prices right through.
Great.
Ding.
Outdoor dental.
Outdoor.dental is the website.
What do we do here?
This.
Look at those jibbs.
I went to,
I went to see Dr. J.
And it went from a good meeting to me being very sour.
Oh.
Very fast.
What happened?
I found out that the dental work that I've been getting.
Really?
Archaic.
It's as though it was it 1960?
Like what it?
Is it that your eye doctor doing your dental work?
Basically.
My brother says this,
my idiot brother says this all the time.
People go to these dentists that haven't updated their stuff that it's,
It's a hundred years old
that they don't even know how good it could be.
Well, dude, this is kind of,
because Trevor, your brother,
connected us with Dr. Jay,
some of this gear that he has,
some of the equipment,
not only is it one of maybe two or three
like them in the city,
provided by your brother.
Oh, but that?
Seems he knows what he's doing.
No needles, no drills.
Good.
You can go in and get a crown done
same day.
Really?
They don't,
you don't have to take those,
the big tray with the goop and,
okay,
no,
do,
oh,
can you breathe okay?
No,
not really.
It's really,
is it uncomfortable?
Very uncorable.
Or you could take,
like a camera.
Okay,
good,
we're done.
So you can do that.
That was quick and easy.
Or maybe if you,
uh,
have a cavity that needs to be replaced and they get a,
he,
they freeze your,
The whole side of your face, you're like, holy fuck.
Hi, hi, I'm on, I just kind of a dinosaur.
I'm going to be late.
It's Pinder and Nashville.
Yes, after the bowling lanes.
I'm not even messing around.
Dr. Jay walked us through.
He's like, yeah, well, this is kind of how we do this.
So you don't need, it's like, no, we can go in with the laser and just kind of cuts out that little piece and then it fills it back in.
What?
Whereas, for me, it's, yeah, they take the drill and they grind all of your tooth away.
Yeah, you really don't need to do that.
where were you?
Well, where he was
was at his location in Seton,
outdoor dot dental.
Amina,
go check out the website.
And we're not even talking about dental
because he was,
this laser that he's got,
the Solea laser treatment,
not just for your teeth,
but what they have is if you're at,
he said,
do you think there's many people
that listen to the show
that would be snorers?
Only about
98%. I'd say that's our demo. You could go by gender, you could go by income where they live. We're just snores. That's our show. Only all of them. Yeah. Yeah. With this laser, like two treatments is generally what it comes down to. You go once, you come back after a number of weeks. And it's soft palate treatment in the back of your kind of at the top of your throat. And it tightens because what it is, it ends up, it's, you know, you're flabby or whatever.
tightens that up and it's kind of,
it's transforming people's lives.
You're sleeping better?
You're not waking up.
Yes.
Your partner gets sleep.
Oxygen to your brain apparently is good.
You get more of that.
You get sleep.
You're happier.
The whole thing.
Dr. J. Outdoor.dental.
Swish. Outdoor.
dot dental.
And, yeah, two 15-minute treatments to increase the tension
in the soft palate to reduce snoring,
non-surgical pain-free.
Why would you snore if you could not snore?
Again, it seems easy to me.
That means I got to go now.
Well, even Wolfie was like,
geez, I probably got jacked that out.
I snore like, it's not going to.
Wolfie's unreal, I was like, yeah,
but then we got to get the three dogs done
because they're on the bed.
Yeah.
But he's got this, like the 3D printing
and doing the like the mouth guards and the stuff.
They do all of it there.
It's like, yeah, can you come and get your,
and you put those tray with the goo.
so that they can...
Outdoor. Dental.
Love it.
Dr. Jay.
Welcome aboard.
Glad to have you on board.
So whether it's...
And of course, they do do the dental work.
But if you're at all interested in the snoring,
do reach out because we were having some fun with it.
But it is.
It's a buddy of mine that I used to live with.
He was the worst I'd ever had.
We would take a cell phone and call his phone.
He's asleep.
He's right there.
And leave him voicemail messages of him snoring.
It's like, hey, hey, buddy.
It's like 738.
You're, you're right.
really going good right now. Take a listen.
Serious, dude. Like, that's you, right? What animals are mating in the alley here? This is crazy.
He needs to go see Dr. J. Go see Dr. J. Go see Dr. J. Outdoor. Dental.
Outdoor. That's how you do that. Time for the Pinda report.
Oh, let's do it. Village Honda proudly serving Calgary in area for over 30 years.
Your one-stop automotive destination. It's the Northwest Auto Mall.
It's your dealership for life. 76.63. 1010th Ave Northwest online Village
It's the Pinda report.
Yeah, just don't go up when
Netherlands are playing USA
and expect to talk to Anthony.
Everyone else is going to have to do with that.
It'll be later next week or weekend.
Yeah.
It's coming up.
Just take a look.
Yeah, don't wear your USA colors.
No.
You'll be throwing, throwing hands.
We start with the Flames fellows
and why not on a game day with Les Abiton coming to town.
Yes.
Here's the look at the lines.
Expect no changes because, yeah,
it went pretty well the other night against Florida.
Eubertoe back on the top line.
Rooch down with Backland and Coleman.
I'm not going to stop trying.
And the other lineup note,
it'll be Jacob Markstrom and Ned,
not Dan Vladar,
who had started three to the last four.
Going with the backup tonight.
Against the habs.
Makes sense.
Stupid habs.
Always get the backups.
And you know what?
There's a bit about the flames,
but this.
Be better than Roach.
Roach?
What are you lobbying for?
What wouldn't do be?
I'm saying, he's trying to,
like Rosie's a good nickname.
Usually they're terrible nicknames.
He's kind of nice.
I like it.
I'm not saying it makes sense or it's any good.
I'm just pot committed here.
You are pot committed.
You are all in.
But why not?
Doobie.
I'm not working on Dooms.
I'm working on Roots here, okay?
It's not going to be a lot about the flames
in terms of the conversations around this game
so much as the return of Sean Monaghan,
the former flame back.
If you forget what Sean Monaghan looks like
scoring a goals of Calgary Flame,
it wasn't that long ago.
It shouldn't be that hard.
Let's go to less than a year ago.
Watch this, as it was Florida.
Florida in town. This was no booze, no food night.
Was there a pandemic? I was at the game. I was sad.
Yeah, me too. It was terrible. Of course, that's how you remember at Pinders, because there was no food or
I had my Aussie father-in-law here and like, oh, he's going to be a mate. I'm like, we can't.
This stupid pandemic story. So what's the context of this goal? Well, it was Goddrow over to
Kachuk back to Monaghan's scores less than a year ago. So look for that tonight.
Poof. Gone.
You want to talk about Hatcher pulling the Houdini?
These three just put on their, uh,
parachutes and jumped out.
Gone.
Nice little finish there.
Yeah.
Look that move.
Yeah.
Do that.
They thumped the,
they thumped the Panthers that night.
That was in January 18th,
I believe.
Panthers won the President's draw.
We there first in the league.
It's big win.
No boost.
Couldn't celebrate.
Couldn't go to Dutton's.
What are we supposed to do?
I celebrate the crowd?
Yeah, like half capacity.
Yeah.
No good.
Uh, there's a great story up on Flames Nation.
I want to direct your attention to you.
Mike Gold walking down memory lane.
All things Sean Monaghan,
we could drone on,
but he's written them down,
video clips showing you his first career goal, uh, the hug, the famous hug in the hallway with
Johnny after he scored the game seven winner against Dallas. Worth your time, if you want to do a
little Monahan recap to our Wrangler's Keener, Mike Gold. We talked about it earlier and we have fun,
but truly, as I kind of said, you forget how long he was here, the numbers he put up.
He was a tremendous flame for a long time. He had seven, 20 goal seasons. Yep, three over 30. It was like,
No one was better from the hash marks at finishing.
It felt like for a while.
Okay, Flames history on this day.
Pinch Punch first of the month.
Speaking of punches, Jerome McGilleyla had a classic throwdown on December 1st back in the day.
I wonder Fred was around for this.
Speaking of McGinla, I text him yesterday and he ignored me.
That's weird.
You guys are tight.
So here we are.
We got the avalanche in Calgary.
Oh, shooting the old dukes.
Shooting the dukes.
Tal Gil.
Todd Gill, excuse me.
Halgill is taller than that.
That's Todd.
Todd's taking a few less here.
Todd, what's a hard doing.
Todd, do you know what you're into here?
Todd was tough, man.
Was he?
Well, so was the other guy here.
Todd was very tough.
This is a good tilt.
Oh, he's bloodied him.
Oh, he landed one there too.
Jeez.
There is a great photo.
What Jerome wants more.
Of Jerome Leakin there.
Yeah.
It's a great shot because he's obviously, he's just,
look at him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I feel like he wished it was the SS Hal Gill,
not Todd Gill there.
Do you want me to text, Iggy, to text you back?
Yeah, we'll tell him you played a video,
him getting beat up today on the show.
What a jerk.
Go ahead.
Phil Housley?
And I just said, I said,
How's it going out there, Egg?
Hope you're having a great year.
Crickets.
Maybe he's not having a good year.
He's sour about it.
Yeah.
Speaking of amazing flames,
Phil Housley on this day,
1995, 7th D-Man Ever to 9-Hund.
He does not get talked about
enough for the amount of production he had
and I'd also put McKinness and Souter in that group.
It was just kind of a thing.
You're like, oh yeah, we just have a defenseman that flirts of the point per game
and everyone's like, that's normal?
Huh?
Yeah, bad sock tape.
What's going on with the sock tape?
Are you in the show, Phil?
Come on here.
Phil, you know you don't need stick tape.
Jeez, Phil.
Come on.
Christ, that's brutal.
Bring your own electrical.
Physical Phil Housley.
Physical Phil.
He was the house.
The year that Timu came in and scored 76.
he was on for about 74 of those 76 goals.
Big part of it.
So there you go.
Big setup, man.
900.
Wow.
I'll move along to NHL news.
Patty Maroon took the high road.
Good way to framing it yesterday, Dean, by the way.
He basically got fat by Jack Edwards yesterday.
Yesterday's show we heard that clip talking about how it's fasting when he goes more
than four hours between meals.
And Patty says, you know what?
I'm not going to take shots at that Looney Tune Honk in Boston.
I'm going to donate two grand.
his name to Tampa Bay Thrives
that deals with mental health
bullying and body image and invited other
players and fans to join
him out of boy Patty.
A boy Patty.
Mitch Marner, his point streak
intact and don't
think the boys didn't know he tied a
Leafs record last night with what
points in 18 straight?
18, buddy.
We're not really
cared about the streak. What we care about is this.
Welcome back to the room. Congrats.
Boom.
Oh, look, they're all friends.
Look at that.
It's like a Warner birthday.
That is phenomenal.
A lot of booze from all directions.
That'd be bottles of penis.
Shirtless dudes.
Oh, he's doing the gritty.
Yeah.
He's doing the gritty.
That's getting embarrassed.
She's a man with no shirt on.
You in Qatar?
What's the problem here?
I hate the league.
And it was the day that ended why in the oilers were playing.
So here's a highlight real goal from the best player ever.
It's against the Hawks.
It technically will count.
for points in the NHL this year,
even though it's against the Hawks.
It doesn't even see fair.
It's just not easy.
Is that practice?
And is that,
are you sure that's from last night?
Because I feel like I've seen that highlight 800 times.
Yeah.
Is that Andres Erickson getting his doors blown off there?
Looks like old Bubba.
Jeez, look out.
Bubba looks like Santa.
He will really look like Santa right now.
What's the time of year?
He's down in Florida.
He has a big white beard.
Oh, big fat belly thing.
It makes it look easy, doesn't he?
Let's get him on the show.
Good.
I could.
Or is he going to give you the again law?
You ghost you.
I pulled out,
I gave you guys a name the other day
with someone we should have on the show
and you absolutely ignored me too.
No, you put a name in the chat.
There was no context about anything.
It was just first name, last name.
We're like, yep.
Use your brains.
I say this to the shovelers sometimes.
Follow along.
Damn it.
Follow along with what we're trying to accomplish here.
Why are you so stupid?
You couldn't write a sentence.
It was a noun, a proper noun.
That's what you gave us.
It was a bong moment where popped in my head.
Okay.
Well, you can circle back and fill us in on the rest.
We were texting on Monday about what email should we use to loop everybody in.
So you guys send your email.
Okay, so this will be our team email.
This is my email here.
The next day, out of thin air, 943 a.m.
sends a guy's name.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. Okay. I said, uh-huh. Yeah, what about it? Nothing. Crickets.
Bill Terwilliger. Uh. And, yes.
What happened to Bill? Is he okay?
Hey, why don't we get him on the show? Ah. Would have been.
Hey, look, you're getting him pissed off. I got a reason to, I know. I'm going to lift his spirits here.
Are you? Because it's a game day for the bills. Against the stupid, dumb, fat patriots. Or maybe they're not fat. I'd just, screw you, Belich.
That's right.
Yeah.
Fun police.
Look at this, though.
Oh, dear, though.
This is a crucial stretch coming up, Red.
Here's Adam Schaeffter, knows everything about all things NFL.
If he doesn't tweet it, it's probably not true.
Bills have not beaten a divisional foe yet, but we'll start a run of four divisional games tonight left on their schedule.
Got to take care of business.
They lost to Miami.
They lost to the divisional.
Haven't?
Yeah.
They've lost by two combined points to the divisional foes.
What column does that show up in?
The win or the loss when you only lose by one?
Now, just so I know, we'll do our football picks tomorrow.
The bills are a three and a half point favorite.
Their rats are taking the bills?
If they don't cover, are you still taking the bills tomorrow?
He has to.
It's loyalty.
I am going to Bill's booster bar tonight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
and I'm going to party it up after a huge victory over the stupid Belichick, New England Patriots.
You're in Pittsburgh tonight?
Can you please put stuff on social for us?
Yes.
So we can see this.
Some photos, video, just whatever you've got.
If you send us like five little videos or photos,
we can send that to Princey and Tanman.
They'll tighten that up right for the show to work.
You get in chokeslam through a table.
Yeah.
Be awesome.
Drinking out of someone's shoe, let's go.
Covered in ketchup and mayonnaise.
You don't use the shoe.
It's a boot.
You tell me, show us the video.
Stupid pender.
Bill's favorite by three and a half, as you noted.
That's your game tonight.
World Cup Canada is a tournament.
It was already done.
They had one more game to go.
They lose two one to Morocco.
Not the best day for the keeper.
They wanted to win.
They wanted to win.
They didn't.
They had it off the line, off the goal,
then headed it on.
Come on, guys.
So can we stop paying attention to this whole thing now?
You never did, so it won't be a change for you.
We're almost done group play.
Morocco actually won group F.
Belgium number two, FIFA rankings.
See ya.
I only care about the.
the magnificent
Morocco. Belgium's out.
Belgium's gone.
Croatia gets through
as a second team.
Morocco wins the group.
Did you know that Don Morocco
was the rock
before the rock was the rock?
And my big mouth
got me in trouble, Dean,
as is par for the course.
Well, it's Thursday.
I was,
well, let's have a listen.
Oh, this is going back
earlier this week.
Here's the thing.
These fools could get the outdoor rink
going across the street from my house.
I'd be a little more excited about this.
They've wasted a lot
cold overnight's here why do you get to point the finger you're part of the community feel
free to volunteer and get your ass out there i literally went to the website to look where i could
throw my name in the hat because whoever's in charge is blowing it right i'm at that point now where
it's like the your incompetence is going to spur me into action i mean god i'll even know what i'm doing
god forbid that you have to give up a night of boozing to actually contribute to your society
Oh, you can easily booze while you make a rink.
I've talked to you.
That's a good point.
You can get right.
BIA.
It's a beer in hand activity.
No sweat.
Wow.
It depends on the temperature out there.
It's hard to hold onto a beer when it's this cold.
You're going to need some snowmobile in middies for sure.
But yeah, you could do it.
And last night, a live look at the rink across the street from my house.
We got the hose going, Rhett.
Oh, so you chirped.
The incompetent fools in charge said,
Hey, I'm listening to the podcast with a hoax.
in my hand at the rink.
We've got a group of about 15 or 20 guys.
I can join you in the group if you'd like.
So, uh,
what are you trying to do in the corners with the snow?
This is a problem.
And you know what?
You know what it is, guys?
That's not snow.
Those are tarps because there's beach volleyball courts underneath.
It's a nightmare.
And these heroes of the community have to overcome all this nonsense.
The community association is not taking care of.
You got to flatten that sand or dig it out.
There's some things where Canadian, you live in Calgary.
you don't play beach volleyball for Christ's sake.
Well, you tell that to the community association,
getting all fat and sassy on beach volleyball money.
So for the first time ever,
your mouth got you into trouble.
I was overdue, to be fair.
Good guys.
First time ever.
Beer, hoses.
Good for you, Pender.
I'm proud of you, buddy.
Yeah, thanks, man.
What else were you going to do?
If not that, did you have other plans?
I was aiming for the stars,
but flew a little too close to the sun.
He was crashing down to the minus 20 outside of the hose.
That's a Pinder report.
Dean's laughing.
Common experience.
He was here before the show.
The all new redesigned 2023 Honda CRV at Village Honda, your dealership for life.
Is that fun not to get lucky?
Ice or was it going to be ice or?
Yeah.
Yeah.
The ice somehow came out of head.
Okay.
Gosh, we're getting...
That's the day.
It's not today.
We got to do the bets.
We got to do the bets.
We got to do stuff.
See, Rhett.
Thanks.
Where's my oilers show?
Get these assholes off the...
Yeah, just stand by.
And news on that coming up, too.
Let's do the bet way bets of the day.
We got some, of course, the flames are playing tonight.
It's the flames and the Montreal Canadiens over the dome.
I don't know if you heard about it.
Big game tonight.
Boom.
Look at your bets.
What do we got?
My bets of the day, Montreal and Calgary.
Give me some Tyler to Foley,
scoring against his former team.
Why not?
Plus 175 for it any time.
Goal, not Josh Anderson, Rasmus Anderson, a power playpoint, one or more power play points, plus 225.
Are you kidding me?
That's a really good number.
Doesn't it seem?
Maybe the website has the name wrong.
I see, I don't know.
I searched for some value.
Tough to find in this game.
I'll take that one.
So those are my two bets of the day with Betway.
You know what you can do with the standings and the HABs come to Calgary?
You can throw them out the window, Dean.
Is that right?
It's going to be a tight game. Montreal works hard.
The numbers are very slanted in Calgary's favorite.
Heavy, heavy favorites.
I'm going to take the Habs plus one and a half.
Paying almost even money.
That's just close game, good game.
I'm just here for a good game.
That's all you want.
I just want to be entertained.
I also just want Jonathan Ubel Dill to score against probably the team
he grew up cheering for.
Spanish.
And he's been rolling pretty good back on that top line.
Anytime goal for Hube-Dubidoo.
Plus 187, speaking to Hibu-Dil-Doo.
Launch the shirts the other night.
Right, we'll get into tomorrow.
It's the Betway bets of the day.
What about the bills?
Bills are minus three and a half.
Rets taking them.
We'll do our NFL picks for Betway tomorrow.
Love it.
I love it.
And.
Why can't we?
Thursday night.
I got to tell you,
I'm going to have a hard time watching the habs and the flames.
You watch the bills for us, okay?
Take notes.
Take some videos.
That'll be your contributions.
Or aren't you going to tape it on your VHS, the game?
In Pittsburgh?
In Pittsburgh?
I don't have a VHS in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh. Well, that was else I was going to ask. Should I bring all my setup for the show tomorrow or my phone?
Yes.
What's yes mean?
So what, your laptop and a microphone?
Yeah, throw it in your backpack.
All your stuff.
You don't need your, take your tabletop mic there,
the other one that you got.
You'll be all set.
That unscrews nicely, the tabletop one.
Well, he's even got two mics.
He's got the whole thing.
Stiled.
He's sold up for success.
So it's everybody bitching all the Euler fans
who are waiting for us to shut up and get Tyler on it.
Here's the good news.
Starting in just over a week,
we are moving this show to our own.
We've been telling you,
Flames Nation,
Flames Nation YouTube.
Get over there. Let's go.
Starting on the 12th of December, which is not this coming Monday, but the Monday following,
the only place you're going to see the show is on that YouTube channel.
Go and subscribe.
And to everybody on the other side, it was like, I can't take any more oilers shit into my feed.
I can't handle these dummies talking about the Oilers.
You'll be free of that as well.
So unfollow them and subscribe to our channel.
And you don't need to unfollow.
Oh, I don't even on subscribe.
Just either way.
Friendly fire.
That's where you're going to find Barn Burner starting on the 12th of December.
Can't wait to have you over there, fellas, and go early.
Check out the content.
Subscribe now.
Yes, sir.
That's the show.
Thanks to all of our sponsors.
Enjoy the game tonight.
Oilers.
Suck.
Oh, okay, there is.
Jeez, Oilers Nation every day.
Come out next, awkward time.
I can be listening because it's so close.
See you, buddies.
