Starting point is 00:00:15 Hey, how we doing? People's all. You pop out. That cable's all a something, whatever you call it. How are we doing, everybody? How are we doing? How are we doing? I'm great, you?
Starting point is 00:00:26 Yeah, good. Didn't get in the lake today. I'm a little disappointed. Come on. Season over? Can't decide if I winped out or if I ran out of time. You know what I mean? Could be both.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Tight for time. If you do it. The way that you would put that debate to rest is to do it tomorrow. Because you couldn't be a wimp as you go tomorrow. I was in yesterday. in yesterday. It's colder every day though, right? It feels icy. Oh, it's a brave man. I'm going to suggest that maybe you had time. You're like, uh, maybe I am too busy. Maybe I don't have time. But look it. What, what people, for the, for those that aren't watching. My hair is greasy.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Yeah. And slicked back. Yeah. Got a 12 head going on. I'm freshly. Sean. Shorn. Shorn. Yeah. Sean. Yeah. Sure. Love Sean. Sean on the shore selling seashells. what's happening today. I got to shoot a commercial. Oh, excuse me. You do what? You have to who? Shoot a commercial.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Shoot a commercial. Shoot the Dukes. For the podcast? No. Of course. What commercial? On those high end. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:37 What are we doing today? I actually don't know. Yeah. It's people that that, what is it? Saddle Dome Way rise. Yeah. Over in Saddle Dome Way. Yeah, we're familiar with those.
Starting point is 00:01:49 folks in those people the flambinos core search oh yeah it's alumni thing or flames thing or both i think both there's a little uh i shouldn't say there's a lot of overlap there is yeah i uh i texted sarge the other day because i was watching them on that broadcast the telecast and i said what kind of uh shoe polish have you got going there because it's jet black he's like hey some people just made tv tv man so yeah all right all right you look good love corny how many games did you ever do color color yeah zero color what do you mean oh you're yeah that's right a studio analyst i was an analyst me and roj yeah yeah i was terrible how many the one time i did it with eric francis and roj in between downstairs
Starting point is 00:02:41 underneath rach asked the question and points the mic at francis and he's babbling on. And about 50, I'm like, I don't even know what he asked. Yeah, yeah. I literally forgot. Some blank screen. This is going to be tough to spin. For a while.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I'd like to talk about this. I agree with it. I like a solid point you make, Eric. In terms of that, I would like to second to that. I think back to you, Roger. Back to you, Roger. That's actually how this started. Sure is.
Starting point is 00:03:18 What a, this thing. Thank you, Dink. Yep. It was Roger myself and you. And was I dialed in that day. So much. Uh, you came down after the first and it's all, do you have your notes and we'll get some video? What are we going to, what are we going to kind of thing?
Starting point is 00:03:33 And you said, I don't know. Can I talk about how drunk Kipper was at the Halloween party? Nope. Uh, no, we can't. I said, uh, you can on our show. That'd be great. Come on. And then you did.
Starting point is 00:03:48 You're one of these, Dina? Hey, come on. Come on. Let's do this. And you came on and you tore a strip off enough, sort of. You know what? It wasn't even that. Going back to then, but they just people weren't used to hearing. On a truth.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yeah. Truth bombs. Truth. You just kind of said this guy, you know, it wasn't very coachable. It would have been great to have had him in for the run. Would have been all right. So that a lot. And I do still agree with you on that point.
Starting point is 00:04:14 It's hard. It's the truth. Hard to debate. His career trajectory is a weird one because normally you see guys and they get better, better and better. And then they get old. They tail off. he was like best and fell right off like he might have been at his best 20 is a rookie that's wild 20 goals is
Starting point is 00:04:27 the defenseman's a rick was he good in toronto i know really not really no like it was almost more the hype that carried him through there right i think his physicality was a huge part of what it made him successful oh and that tailed off very quickly is that no because he came back after the rules changed so he was an open-ice hitter that's still legal and you just almost never saw it when he got to Toronto and then never in Ottawa. Like it was just. I think once you have a contract worth about 50 million. I didn't want to go there, but I think
Starting point is 00:04:57 those timelines match up. I don't really feel like I want to go out there and hit. Because it's not like it's painless to me. And I don't know, Dion, but if I was guessing, I bet you he thought he was almost above it in a way. Like, well, now that I've established myself.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Well, he's a captain. You do start to try it. And you know what? I almost throw that out not as a shot at Dion. I think it's for a lot of guys. You bust your. ass, I'm gonna, I gotta get paid, I gotta get this. Then you get that big, I can't imagine, but you get that payday. It's like, well, I've kind of earned it.
Starting point is 00:05:28 I'm still a very good player. I'm the captain. I can't think of any high paid players in the flames that have operated that way, Dean. It's not a trend. I could call him. I got his number. That's good.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I like to be chumsies. Let's get him on the show. He's never been on the show. Are you guys chumsies? Yes. Chumsies. Really, since one. Old friend.
Starting point is 00:05:51 old friends. Let's get into it. Time for opening statements for our good, our old friends at McLeod Law. Peter Klein, we talked about him for years now. Personal injury guy. He's also your disability insurance claim guy. If you've been heard on the job, the insurance company is holding out on those payments. Get Peter going to work for you. He'll get to the benefits that you've paid for and deserve the peace of mind that you paid for. That's what you get. Hey, that's what this is, come on, those disability payments. Bring him in. You promise this.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Come on now. My guy here is paid for. Come on. Let's do this. McLeod-dash lot.com. Calgary Flames, they fall to the Winnipeg Jets a couple nights ago. A 5 o'clock start.
Starting point is 00:06:33 You were there. You know what? I've criticized kids roughing. And now I get to criticize NHL refing. It seems to be a trend. I don't know. You're not alone in the ladder. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:44 I think there were a few people a little bit salty at the officiating, at least late. We didn't like the nasm slash on the hands penalty? I didn't like it. Was it on the hands? I don't know if we have the replay or not. I didn't think it was. It's,
Starting point is 00:06:57 yeah, it's just don't play yourself in that spot. Oh, Jesus, here we go. Well, you're watching again. Look,
Starting point is 00:07:03 the problem with that call. Yeah. Is that you can call it every, on everyone all the time. And I'm being, I'm, is it, is exaggerative?
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yeah. A word? You're exaggerating to make a point. Yes. But there would be from that point when Cadry got called. guaranteed there's 10 slashes that the Jets handed out. It's also, and again, there's, is it a penalty by the rule of the law? And then there's the game managing part.
Starting point is 00:07:34 It just killed off five on three. I'm a ref. It's a third period game. It's tied. Yeah, the five years ago. Does it have impact on the game at all? It feels like we're in an important stretch of the game here. Could have for sure.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Yeah. I mean, personal, I just, like, Nazim went to the media. I don't know if you said it was calm. And I just don't think you can win doing that. And you can feel that way. But it wasn't as if no one knew it was emotional. He's pissed off. I got no problem with it.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And it's just like if we're, if I'm going to go to the media and be outraged about a call, by the letter of law, I hope that's not a call. Because by the letter of law, that kind of was, you slash the guy in the hands. Like I just, I don't, I don't like to. I think he's a great player. I think he's been very good here. I didn't like how he approached that necessarily. Really?
Starting point is 00:08:19 Yeah. I had, I never thought of it, never thought about it. I guess. I just sort of feel like it's making excuses but, isn't it? You don't score on, or like, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:08:28 it, I don't think it's like, I don't think they're great. I don't think they deserve to win and they got wrong. Well, that's the other part. Just to kind of put, put the period on this.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Sure. I don't think it's media went in and said, so what do you think about the game? I thought the ruffing sucked. I got screwed. It's, what did you make of the call? He's asked directly about the penalty.
Starting point is 00:08:46 Yeah, I don't. And then, and then he's, you know, context important. That's a good point. Right. Just you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:08:54 Like it's a direct question. It's like, well, yeah, I think so. I mean, do you feel the game was taken from you? You're pissed off, you're hot. I think so. It's probably a little. So whatever. But the bigger point is, as you say,
Starting point is 00:09:09 you know, two power play goals against. They give up a short-handed goal. Five-on-five okay. But the Jets are a good, they're a good hockey team. Jets have more skill. Jets worked as well. And special teams have been a huge issue for this team for since what, the first three games there? I didn't feel as whether you're salty about the call or not.
Starting point is 00:09:32 I didn't feel like the Jets came in with ski mask and handguns and stole this hockey game. No, and I don't think that they were going to lose if the refs hadn't give it to them either. I just think they're about team the flames. And yeah, they just looked really flat to me since the first, what, four games. And I look at who they beat when they went five and oh. three of those teams are in the bottom five of the league Philly, Chicago, and I'm trying to remember the other one,
Starting point is 00:09:58 but it's like, yeah, like we're settling in here. Goals are tough to come by for this crew. You look at it. Yeah. Win, win, win, okay, yeah. Five and O and O, and now since then,
Starting point is 00:10:08 O2 and one, and now you're looking at Vegas, and, you know, Utah is missing a top pair, but that's not an easy one either. Then you got Edmonton this weekend. New Jersey's a cup favorite as well. Like, this is a tough stretch of this club. And I'm not trying to forecast the future.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I just feel like we've seen games become more difficult for this group when in the first week they overwhelmed teams. And I just think it's because other teams didn't have the start to the season that this really young, hungry, inspired group had, right? Or are they reading the press? It's like, this team's going to stink. They're no good. Then you get outworked and you lose a hockey game.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Well, it's early, whatever, you move on to game three of your schedule, or four. But yeah, it's you're winning. And then it's overtime and then it's shootout. And then it's a loss. And then, okay, well, now it's another loss. another loss. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:51 But I think it's, I think it's good for the team, whether you take wins or losses this year. You're not, you're not getting anything free now. Yeah. You're going to have to get back to work. You're going to,
Starting point is 00:11:04 if you're going to be this team that you think you are and all of that, then you're going to have to dig in. Vegas, they've scored more goals than any frigging team in the league. This is going to be a handful tonight. Totally. And the other thing I recall from Saturday is like, Eric Comrie tried to give them the game more than the rest of it.
Starting point is 00:11:18 I wasn't going to bring it. They, like, you, you had two goals go in from a spot that if you tried a hundred time, you maybe should get two, not two for two on them. When you're a foot off the goal line closer to the corner than the yard of the net, you let two of those in. It's good scouting. Like, and again, we're talking to what teams are not being surprised by the flames. They didn't throw Hellibuck at the flames. This game's not close if Hellibucks in, right? In theory.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Yeah. And again, like, backup goalies can play well and starters can have off nights. But they saw the flames. They saw their schedule and they said, this is a spot for a backup, not the Vesna guy. And then if you're if you got your, do you have your flames goggles? I thought it was a GM hat. Yeah. GM hat.
Starting point is 00:11:54 So you look at it. We had how many times were we shorthanded. We were five on three. We killed off in the third period. One goes off the freaking glass and off our goalies back and in. Yeah, that's a tough one. Things go another way. We win this thing in regulation, let alone extra time.
Starting point is 00:12:07 So it's. For sure. They're competing. And going into the year, that's all we could ask. 100%. This is exactly what we thought we would see. a hardworking team that's pretty structured that just couldn't make enough plays.
Starting point is 00:12:20 And I mean, I'm trying to think of a good save Eric Commerhead to make all night. There you have a couple chances. It was a little bit. Because they're one or two. Like how many scoring chances would they have created like great A's as compared to like, whoops, that went off the goal line and we're in this thing.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And now like, and you're right. The Jets had won two. It's, it barely tips the post, then hits the end wall and then the back. Like, again, try that a thousand times you can't do it. Sharon Govich back in. Quiet. Coronado sent down
Starting point is 00:12:50 drama Is there drama? He's not going to be happy. So if I'm correct, they burnt year one of his entry level contract two springs ago. He played like game 82 with Dustin Wolf against San Jose.
Starting point is 00:13:05 We're probably both that three of us at that game. So last year was the second year of his entry level. This is your three. So if you're the agent, what are you angling up for? It's a negotiation off season. It's a second contract. guys who can play really well at the end of their entry level,
Starting point is 00:13:20 people will give the bag to. We see it all the time. We've seen, like, we talked about it last week, like Dylan Gunther, out of entry level, boom, here's 80 year, 70 year. Nick Suzuki, a lot of these guys get paid right away. And so there's a signing agent for Matthew Coronado, who has tweeted nothing at all. And then there is an agent that works at Matthew's agency,
Starting point is 00:13:42 which I don't know the relationship between those two guys. but one of the guys at the agency that represents Coronado, all he's doing is retweeting, this is better than Matha and like accounts stating his coursey, saying he shouldn't be sent down. And did he go to the Allen Walsh School of Social Media? Probably this guy, yeah. And I don't, look, I don't think he's been played poorly.
Starting point is 00:14:03 I don't think he's the worst for it on the team. But I also understand that if you're Craig Conroy, you're doing more than just, okay, this guy is slightly better than that guy. You have to go on waivers and I can lose you for nothing. Like, no, there's a bit of asset management that comes along to. he doesn't require waivers. And I just think if the agent's going to start making a stink, it's like, okay, well, you got better be undeniable in the A now.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Because if we're going to play the results game, like, it's just very early. And it's, you know, 14 months ago, 16 months ago, he's playing at Harvard. Like, it's not like you're scratching a 25-year-old here. He could use big minutes in the A. It would be good. Is maybe part of that, because we talked about it here last week, when the roster shuffling happens, and they put Paul auspiceal off of center to the wing and Coronado to the fourth.
Starting point is 00:14:50 It's like, well, do you just wondering with, I'd be pissed. If Rooney, if Rooney's coming back in. If I'm saying, why,
Starting point is 00:14:56 why here? Yeah. Like, this is, I wonder if that's also part of it. And then the guy gets sent down. It's probably a couple of shit burgers in a, well,
Starting point is 00:15:05 and to be fair, I had heard before the season even started that this was going to be a very high pressure camp for the Coronado crew because they have designs on a big contract a second time. He hasn't earned a big contract. I ask, no. The agents are trying to do their job, which is fine. I think it's stupid social media tweeting.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Yes. That's, that's. And not even saying, I'm the agent here are my thoughts, but retweeting people with 37 followers on Twitter. Like, come on. Exactly. Have some professionalism. But, and so fine.
Starting point is 00:15:35 So he can go argue his case. I don't think Coronado's, can you say it for me? Coronado's been undeniable, but he's also not been putting a spot maybe to have success. where he could have played with the top line instead of posse. At a couple against Pittsburgh, if I'm correct, has played well at times, but is not a dominant force.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I don't know what to make of them, to be quite honest with you. I like him. I'd like to see more of them, but I mean, when you go get Anthony Manta, the whole idea is you can spin him around for a pick at the deadline.
Starting point is 00:16:01 You're not going to put that guy in the minors. That seems to be the stuff he's retweeting. It's better than Manta. It's like, well, it was very different cases. Craig's objectives with Anthony Matherer are very different than Matthew Coronado. He wants Matthew Cornado.
Starting point is 00:16:12 He wants Matthew Cornado be a great player for a decade, not for four months. Yeah. Anthony looks very disinterested. You don't want. This is the Anthony Mathis show. Remember we talked about that line, the first week of the year?
Starting point is 00:16:23 It's like with possible between two guys that have all this skill in the world and can be out there and you don't even notice them. What's it going to be tonight? Game one, he was fighting in the first period. 40 how hatchet. Chasing people to fight. Yeah, you need whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:39 What do you put out? An AP, AP, all points. Is that what it is? All. Yeah, milk carton, something like that. Something derogatory in the sense that he's not been very good. Yeah, and so the agent, sure, yeah, okay, he's probably been better than math the last five years.
Starting point is 00:16:53 They're not going to put math in the minors. Look, when you're a young guy, that's your contract. That comes with the territory. You're going to get a contract extension. It's going to come. It sucks being sent down, but nearly everybody has done it. Now, maybe not every first rounder has done it. To be fair.
Starting point is 00:17:12 To your point, it's not. like, once he done that he's led the team and score, oh, we're sending you down. Well, now we're pissed. Well, sure you're pissed. No, he's, he had a couple goals, went into an empty net if I believe the one against Pittsburgh. And look, he's been good, but has he been better than Hansek since the beginning of camp? Nope. I don't know that.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Who's what forward has he been better there? Oh, I think he's a type of role. Well, I just think he's a good foretaker. You could play him on a third line, fourth line, but who's a bit better there? Klapka, I think better than. Okay. But no, again, like, I don't. That's a low bar.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Well, like Kirkland came in. Like, and. Yeah. And Kirkland plays center. So that's a tie break. But in terms of like you need centers. He also score goals. Sure. So is Coronado.
Starting point is 00:17:53 But I mean like, yeah, Kirkland's done really well. It come up and be a centerman. That's not the job that Matthew Coronado has been offered. He's now, he's competing against the winging, the wingers here, which. And he's been better than. So if you're better than Manta and you're better than clap. And like, okay, cool. You've been better than the other guy who's probably, it should be in the eighth.
Starting point is 00:18:12 too. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah. Anyway. I think we're all on the same page. Yeah. And look,
Starting point is 00:18:18 maybe we're magnifying something that doesn't need it. No, it's something that's happening. But it's happening on the weekend. It's just curious because, you know, anytime it's an American in Calgary, it's going to catch people's attention.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Oh, I never even thought of that. Is he American? You didn't know what? I did, but I'm trying to. No, and it's just,
Starting point is 00:18:34 I just think these things you're blown out of proportion. And I don't think it helps when the agent does it because it sort of puts a little gas on what shouldn't be a fire. It says screw you, Conroy. it's like cool when you're right so you're going to do hold out is he from wound sock at rhode island is it rhode island or long island you know okay i'm gonna make a point about something though okay fire yeah adam fox yeah like you like i don't it's it's clearly not the same because he's signed and they own his rights but you always say well we don't we have his rights and
Starting point is 00:19:05 he can't do anything there they can do things yeah not at this point but you're right when his contracts up you can make things difficult or when he is producing at the NHL level, he can say, I remember when. But I mean, we had to say squabbles about Mangapani when they wanted him at 812,000 and the agent wanted him at 950 and like, they paid the guy, probably too much. It all, this is classic like agent really, really wants to have something to do. And it's like it's like it's an entry level. Like he's the first, you've got no leverage it.
Starting point is 00:19:33 You don't have Arbrites. Like make all the stick you want. Here's the thought I have. I think the agent's doing it to appeases his client. and I think his client is pissed and that's the feedback the agent's getting and so the agents, this is if the player and the parents
Starting point is 00:19:49 are pissed off and the agent. So what are you why are we be so like that's what I think and I don't think Conroy should give a damn about any of it but I think that's probably. Did you stop yourself? I did. He keeps doing that and then he gets on a heater and unleash he's like five. Red is wondering if maybe we're using the S word too much.
Starting point is 00:20:10 And F words. And sometimes F word. Very word. Vulgarities. So you put out a... I don't think Conroy should give it... Is damn okay? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Where's the list, Jack? Come on. Some people are really fucking stupid. Yeah. I didn't say it. Yeah. That's a special guest. Ryan, did you just...
Starting point is 00:20:36 You didn't say it. That's a special guest. Yeah, that's somebody on the show. but it does feel like the players now, whereas before it was, take your money and shut up. You're on an entry level deal. You'll get paid when you get paid. Now there's,
Starting point is 00:20:50 there's a little bit more, certainly for somebody that's a first rounder. You've got a little bit more. Second time it's happened with the first round, right? I didn't see Peltier's agent to eat up a storm when he got sent down, right? Like it's,
Starting point is 00:21:01 yeah, players absolutely have more leverage earlier in their careers. And guys are getting paid at entry level. And I think that creates even more pressure on a second full season in the NHL. You should be fine being in the A, but I get it. If his agent says,
Starting point is 00:21:14 this is our first chance to negotiate. Oh, my God. If he could score 25, I can ask for seven, like, settle down. Yeah. I think your point is valid. What are you doing to earn your money,
Starting point is 00:21:26 Mr. Agent Man? I'm going to go on a tweet storm. I just got, see what I did there? I just got sent down. What do you mean? You don't follow me. Yeah, and again,
Starting point is 00:21:36 it's like there's the guy that signed the contract. He ain't tweeting, and S, another guy from Puck Agency where's, I don't even know how that works. How many people do you have? Puck agency. I mean, it kind of tells you what they are, right?
Starting point is 00:21:49 We, um, it does, but I don't know what Puck agency. And he's from Huntington, New York, Dean. Which is, I threw out Woon Socket, just because that's one of my favorites. Who was, do you remember who was from Brian Barard? Oh, wow. Yes, because that's
Starting point is 00:22:05 near Mount St. Charles. Woon socket. I'll go to play. Is that new the finger likes, I know. That's Boston. Another one I'm fond of is Terrytown. Terrytown, Pennsylvania or New York, Jack? Then you're Allentown?
Starting point is 00:22:18 I love Allentown. So the flames suck. The jets are good and Coronado's asked for a trade. But we got a thing, though. A week ago, maybe we knew it was a thing. But now we know it's a thing. The Rasmus Anderson glare. It's my favorite thing in the NHL right now.
Starting point is 00:22:36 It's a thing. How is no one? ever done this before. I don't know. Amazing. This is very invented. It's kind of shades. Remember when Buff, Dustin Bufflin was scored in Vancouver and we kind of do the flyby in the glass to the Canuck fans. That was pretty good. I liked that, but it's not as, it's not this. And I love it, this one, is he, as soon as he score and realized it was in, I got to find, threw the brakes on and then went back. He sprays like six feet of snow because he's like, that's a jersey. I can't get this guy.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Slash gal. And it's like, yeah. It's going to come back to Hodge. Oh, it's good. Sports be fun once in a while. I think this is brilliant. It's not, you know. Love it. I want him to score 50 this year.
Starting point is 00:23:17 Can you imagine if the Ovi Singh was that? So, hey, I mean, if you don't, if you haven't seen it, this was the first one. He's scoring goals and then finding fans in the stands with the other team's jersey on. That was a great one. This one was good. And then the one he scored against Winnipeg. She's not being fun here. This is good.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Yeah, it's famous. she's having a she's having a laugh you're having a laugh it's all in good fun and the people that are hating on it who hates on it is there actually oh it's 2024 everyone hates everyone hates everyone hates everyone hates everything you know someone's clearly offended me
Starting point is 00:23:51 it'll hurt my feelings yeah you know i actually have a sensitivity to eye contact i can't believe you didn't know that and now i feel violated it's arrasmus uh well some you know it could be maybe a fan jumps up to engage in physical contact and then it there's a paint of glass then another fan jumps in it really could go sideways. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Ty Domi seemed to be fine when the glass disappeared. I wasn't worried about him in that situation. Watch the lawsuit, Ty. Watch the loss. Isn't the Bruins ended up climbing up into the stands like in the 70s? Short glass.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Literally on skates on concrete. Oh, my God. Getting a guy with his own shoe. You ever get hit with a shoe while you're from one of the players while you were at a hockey games? It's incredible. I mean, What are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:24:38 Yeah, that's fantastic. So anyway, good on Rasmus Anderson. Don't quit doing it, keep doing it. Don't let the peer pressure. Both, yeah, score and. Yeah, honestly, like, they play Edmonton in a couple Sundays, and Rasmus can keep scoring, and the rest is gravy, baby. Did that pick in the top 10?
Starting point is 00:24:55 If somebody does it, right easy stories. Gravy, baby. Need that top 10 pick, though. I think it's coming. Kind of looks like it the last five. It sure does. And look, I would not at all. critique their want work ethic or their belief in that room.
Starting point is 00:25:10 That's a very different thing. They're professional athletes. They are paid to beat the odds. They all have. But yeah, you're just starting to see they're leaky for shots against. They don't create a lot of scoring chances. Their special teams aren't good. And the goaltending has come back to her a bit, which it was going to do because it was around
Starting point is 00:25:30 930 or something. You're not going to have a season of 930, right? That's what I was going to say. What are you making of the goaltending? their goalies. I think Wolf's been better and I'm a little worried about Vladar tonight. Are you?
Starting point is 00:25:41 He's a little ginger the last time we saw him. Is he ginger? He was. He skated to the bench for the empty net twice and it was. Oh boy. Actually that's right. I remember. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:49 Yeah. He was ginger. Trez ginger. Yeah. Straight ginger. Is it ginger when you're ginger? I think that's, I think that gets he canceled.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Right. Wasn't that your old guy that did? Yeah. I don't know they got suspended for it, but he got reprimand? You know he did? He got his pee slapped. I thought it got suspended.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Is what who? Did he? Yes, because I came in and like, where's... Oh, maybe he did. Really? Both of you? It was ridiculous. Are you the only guy in that old show that didn't get suspended?
Starting point is 00:26:20 Yeah, you're the guy that says stuff. People have some class. In fairness, I was the one that always took the heat whenever Walker would say something. I heard you guys on your shows. Yeah, okay. go ahead, let me have it. We are expecting Frank Sarajevolly,
Starting point is 00:26:38 but you know, there's the opening statements for our good friends over McLeod Law. Sometimes things happen in life where you need a lawyer. Sometimes it's just, hey, we're just buying a house, doing it. You've got to have legal assistance. Sometimes things come out of left field. It's like, man, I'm in a situation. I don't know what to do here.
Starting point is 00:26:54 MacLeod-dashlaw.com. They are the very best. They're Calgary folk, proud of their Calgary roots, and they will get you out of the jam that you've got yourself into. Starting point is 00:29:00 Winston going for it all for the end zone for Tillman. He's got it. It's a white boy from Detroit that I really admire named M&M. He said you only get one shot. Do not miss a chance to blow this opportunity to last once in a lifetime. And I know I got a quote, you know, Eminem, he from Detroit. He's right up the road. A big player early in his career.
Starting point is 00:29:26 And he's changed all that. I mean, there it is. He let up a little bit. Watch. Everything's down. Gets him with the hip. And the shoulder is a clean hit. The Aaron Rogers era is over.
Starting point is 00:29:39 This team is worse this year than with Zach Wilson last year playing the quarterback position. Cousins pumps it. He's got Robinson. And he's got all the space in the world to walk in for a touchdown. Oh, man. Here's your statue. It looks nothing like. Who's that?
Starting point is 00:30:08 Hmm. That's... I'm doing Wade and that's not me is that. ...is out there, along with Peturka, Thompson almost stealing. Here's a chance for Peturka Thompson's goal! Take 10 Thompson! Zoom govorshag deal gluk! Zoom goverstock, deal gluk.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Let's take a look at what may have happened here. Oh boy. Oh, the goalies are going. Let's go. Jones. Good. It's shot, dudes. And Nicholas Jones throwing haymakers at center ice.
Starting point is 00:30:48 I haven't seen a goalie fight years. Coot's getting some great shots in. Jones getting some good shots in. Comes down to one last play. And it's going to be getting longer by the second. You're all the way back at the 30-yard line. Now you can step into it. Here comes the Hail Mary with the game on the line.
Starting point is 00:31:11 And the ball is tall. It's Noah Brown. Oh my goodness. This town is going crazy. House and Landover Maryland. He did it. Rets pick. Form with the goal line. They bring three. Daniel's backing up. He's just going to have to let one fly. Goes to the right side. Steps away from the defenders. Give themselves some time. Now, steps up, fires. heads towards the end zone it is Oh good
Starting point is 00:31:51 High line throw It's Latva away from a long time Bennett's got it Bennett looks Bede was just behind Mikula But he plays it in Depot and then Kachuk goes down
Starting point is 00:32:55 tied up with the goalie stick Kach gives Barlam off a shot He's without a stick Put out in front Oh it's right at the net and they score Kach Kach Kach Kach There comes Don's Losh Malmila us the Bruins draft pick to try and even it up and he goes five hole we went after him they end up going right there thunder is hit there let's take a look there he goes shoulder to shoulder

Starting point is 00:34:43 Our buddy, Frank Zara Valley. Wow, Frank. how we don't. Red, is that a little salt in that mustache? There's a lot in there. Do you address it? I mean, I just keep going. I mean, I obviously don't address it.
Starting point is 00:34:58 No, I know, but yours looks good. Like, it's complete. Like, it's all in. Or this, it almost looks like I got some booger in there or something. I mean, maybe you do. And in fairness, I think some of it is. Some of it's great. A little snow on the Rockies.
Starting point is 00:35:13 You do have a bit of maybe one hang on here. You got a bat in the cave. Yeah. So last week, now ordinarily, I get pissed off. Well, Frank can't be on today. Well, what's his excuse? Well, he's going to Chicago to sit down with Connor Bedard. Yeah, Baddard Barnburner.
Starting point is 00:35:34 I know. Yeah, sorry. It's where we're pissed. It's tough to win that tug of war, but we'll take the L on it. You sat down with the phenom. What, how was he? I was, so I've probably. probably done. I was trying to think of the number of interviews. It's, it's got to be way,
Starting point is 00:35:53 way north of a, you know, a thousand, two thousand interviews of my career. I was nervous. Like, I, I, I don't get nervous. And it's not because of the player. It's like, how do you find a way to relate to a 19 year old, let alone one who's pretty guarded and really well coached and has been in the spotlight since he was 12? And I, you know, he doesn't, there's not a lot else to draw on. It's not like you can, you know, talk about a favorite hobby or something else. This guy is all hockey. It's all consuming. It's all that he thinks about.
Starting point is 00:36:29 And I just found that the best solution was just try and drill down on exactly that hockey. And what I hope to go in there and learn was about how his brain works, how he thinks about the game. And to have him peel back a layer on that. And I was really impressed, came away, really thankful that he was willing to open up and talk about some of those things because he just has such an elite processing unit that I think he's in that category with McDavid, with Barkov, with McKinnon, anyone that's got that sort of way to think about the game, he's right up there. you do get the feeling because then you know they trot the number well here's where mac david was after whatever 90 games hunter games or all this sort of things well he's at or above in a lot of those is how hard is it going to be because you hear people oh it's just going to be chicago again they're going to have the best team they're going to get another high draft pick and this and that's going to be
Starting point is 00:37:31 is it that easy to recreate the black hawks let's call it 1.0 just because you have mac david you have mcd and another high pick coming or is there more to it potentially I mean, look at how difficult it's been for the Oilers. And they have the second piece of the, you know, rapid to Bernard too, like, or we're sorry with Bouchard. Well, and that's, that's also been a bit of a slow burn to get him to that point, right? Yeah. It doesn't happen overnight.
Starting point is 00:38:02 I think the Blackhawks feel really good about their defense core moving forward. Um, the next couple of years, they think they've got a lot of those pieces, but they don't have a goalie. they don't have that second box to check on their roster that, you know, can at least even play with Badaard. Like Tabor Tava Tava Vinen has been a really good signing for the Hawks, mostly because he's the only guy on the team that can process the game even remotely as fast as Badaar.
Starting point is 00:38:31 And that part, you've seen some of the production already. He was closing in on the best seven games start of his career. And he's been in the league for a while. So they've got a lot of work. to do, but I think they've got the hardest piece to get, which is that super elite, super duper star. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Talking about high picks, sure seems like San Jose is going to have one again. They were so bad. Again, yeah, we talked. And they haven't won yet again. Wait, wait, wait, before we leave, can I just, what else came from the Bedard? Was there anything unique that you're going in? Like you've said, like, I think all of us, if you follow hockey and you're interested in it, you've paid attention to Bader.
Starting point is 00:39:11 He is all in on hockey. Doesn't eat fast food. Like all the, all the other. Like his teammates, like I went to, I went to Nick Folino before and I said, hey,
Starting point is 00:39:22 like, give me something to talk about with Badaard. He sits right next to me. He goes, good luck. I'm like, awesome. And then Pat,
Starting point is 00:39:29 I'm talking to Pat Maroon. I'm like, come on, man, you got to give me something. Like I need just like a little, like, a little like thread to pull on in our interview. He's like, he goes, dude,
Starting point is 00:39:38 I don't, I don't know that he's even leaves his house. He sits there. He watches hockey, thinks about hockey. So I did learn, and maybe this can endear him to the group, is he has gotten really into football. Being in Chicago, he has picked the Bears as his team, which I would say is a smart choice. And he's actually somewhat good at fantasy football, which is kind of encouraging. But, Rhett, you'll enjoy this. And I can just give you a little snippet because he explains it better than I can. but the way that I think about Bedard processing the game on the ice now is I think of him standing
Starting point is 00:40:13 there with a Rubik's cube that's constantly like spinning it and clicking it to try and find open space and open ice. He referred to his offseason training as being put in really difficult situations and trying to quote problem solve. Now, I don't know that many other players that think about it quite like that, kind of like putting pieces together, but to kind of just get some insight from him on how that works. That part has been really interesting. So what would he do to simulate that? Yeah, because Ryan's got two kids and he wants them to.
Starting point is 00:40:47 They're clearly bound to be superstars if they're not in prison. He plays in a, he does a couple different things. He trains with like 10 other NHLers in North Vancouver there that they all kind of really push each other. And a lot of it is like simulated situations that they find themselves in. And then they then on Sundays they do like a massive three on three league that they actually take pretty seriously. Like they draft their teams every Tuesday. And like he's like, dude, we had some sessions in three on three that like they went for literally three hours.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Now you're American. Do you know who Albert is? Albert? Fat Albert. Well, Dean knows who Albert is. Ryan, do you know who Albert is? Einstein. Jack?
Starting point is 00:41:34 No idea. Because I would be Albert. The only Albert that I think you might be referenced, is he the guy that got picked last in the Canadian tire commercials? There's old Canadian tire commercials. And you used to, so picking these teams, is there always someone that's last? Like I would be Albert.
Starting point is 00:41:54 I'm going last overall. Yeah. I don't know, but I can't imagine what that feels like. I mean, when somebody does take you, you know, it's just a charity fix. Well, take, don't take that. Take me last. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:42:09 I just wondered if they're drafting every Tuesday, if there's a common denominator. This is why we need right in these interviews. He doesn't have the dumb media questions. Digging for Alberts. Exactly. That would have been. Who's the Albert of Bedard's three on three league?
Starting point is 00:42:24 I want to know that. Give me call. All right. I'm going to get on the plane. We'll wait here. You can Google that ad. You'll see what I mean. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:42:33 I'm not sure. It might be hard to find. Someone's taking it from VHS and put it in the internet. So yeah. So get just moving on San Jose. First team in NHL history. Oh, and nine back to back years. So I was watching the first game ahead of the year. They had like a two or three goal lead after 40 minutes. And the panel, someone was way too excited on their day.
Starting point is 00:42:54 This is so key because you got to wipe the slate from last year. And they're going to hang on and get this win and show that it's going to be different. And I'm like, oh, this is so early for this guy to say this ship has turned. And they won a game. they've gone and had adventures. They spent a bunch of money. They're still not going to hockey. Well, they're also missing the prized number one pick, which watching that first game, seven minutes in gives you a shot in the arm that you can't simulate, you can't fake.
Starting point is 00:43:22 And then all of a sudden you're asking so much of Will Smith, who's supposed to be riding shotgun with Celebrini. And they just, they're still really thin, right? Like, it's not, you're not going to be able to snap your fingers and turn that around like that. What I will say is given the fact that they started 0 and 9 last year as well, I'm not, I still think this team has a 10 plus point improvement this year. And again, they were like pretty historically. 47 points last year. They're hanging around like the McDavid year sabers like purposeful tank. Like it was brutal. At what point does Mike
Starting point is 00:43:59 we run out of leash year? I guess it's more to the point. Like we understand it's a rebuild, but they do want to see significant progress here. They were brutal, like unwatchable, don't buy the tickets bad last year. To me, the biggest crime that's existed in San Jose is that they didn't tear it down fast, like quickly enough.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Yeah. Like you have to be in an absolute race to get to the bottom and the fact that he's like, he's in year three, right? I would think so, yeah. I mean, it's, it's been a while and there still is further to go to get there. Is this,
Starting point is 00:44:31 are we watching now in San Jose? what could be happening in Pittsburgh in three, four, five years time. Because it was San Jose. We've got players. We're going to a cup final. We're very good. We can't quite get there. Decades of good.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Then we'll add Carlson. Keep trading first. Keep trading first. Keep trading. And then Thornton's done. Marlowe's done. And Pavellsky's old and that, da, da, da, da. Classic can't play.
Starting point is 00:44:52 And I just wonder if that's similar. I think actually Pittsburgh is closer to that than you might realize. I already see Pittsburgh as a bottom quartile team in the NHL. Yeah, it looks like it. I mean, it was, it's been some ugly, they just passed through Western Canada. There's been some brutal games. When you look back to Sid signing,
Starting point is 00:45:13 I remember we were in Penticton for the Youngstars event mid-September when he signed that extension. And everyone's like, well, he just gave the Penguins a really good deal, but did he just cap off his Stanley Cups at 3? Because, like, how does this play out from here? I mean, not that capping off your Stanley Cups at 3 is, is bad or anything, pretty good run. Oh, it's incredible.
Starting point is 00:45:33 just that, you know, we might not see even the playoffs again if he stays in Pittsburgh. If he asks for a trade, he'll get it. Yeah, and that's sort of where he's not, he's never going to. That's not, that's not in his DNA. It's not what he wants. He wants to be a one team for life, Pittsburgh penguin. And he said it and every time he says it, no one believes him. I don't, I don't see him playing a good team. We, we feel for him more than we don't believe him. Okay. So like, so then if you want to see him play on a good team, if you're Kyle Dubas, don't come in and sign Tristan Jari to a five-year deal at north of five million bucks a year.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Fire that. Don't trade for Eric Carlson at 10 million bucks a year and also trade a first round pick on top of it. It's one thing to take on the bad deal. It's another thing to also give up a first round pick, which then just further delays exactly what we're talking about. Yeah, and heck still had some big blunders before that. It's been a rough go.
Starting point is 00:46:26 And it sounds like Carlson, part of it's the give a dam's broke, but it sounds like he shouldn't even be on the ice right now. And then, so then I saw this story in the athletic the other day. Josh Yoey asked him like, how would you evaluate your plays so far? And he responds back, quote, great. It's like, I don't, I don't know, I don't know what they're missing. He's only ever cared about himself. Carlson to me has always been that defenseman that, like in Ottawa, they had that great run.
Starting point is 00:46:56 And he was playing, he was unbelievable. He's so, unbelievable. But it was about him doing well. I don't think his focus was about helping the, it was a byproduct of him playing well, that the senators were having more success. But he's not about team success. So, okay, and I'm not disagreeing with you,
Starting point is 00:47:16 but what I'm saying is then listen to the council that Jason Spetsa has been providing to Kyle Dubas. Jason Spets is the assistant GM. He's pounding his fist on the table saying, you have to go out and get Eric Carlson. This is the guy. He cares so much. He's going to turn our.
Starting point is 00:47:32 team around. Who's he helped? Like in what team situation? You could argue Ottawa, but. Well, they're a bad team. He'd almost come to the final. That was incredible. I'm not saying his play wasn't good.
Starting point is 00:47:44 No, but that's helping a team. But then he went to San Jose and it was, well, Burns, you've got, are they going to, how great are they going to be? Have you heard more about him being helping a team have success or being a hindrance? I think he's a great player. I don't think there's been good fits his last two stops. And I think he's well past his prime. I'm not going to fight you.
Starting point is 00:48:02 on that. And he's still probably a first ballot All of Famer. Like 100 points is a demon. It's crazy. Yeah. And but, but that's the thing. So they make this trade and he goes from a hundred points to like, his production dropped by 40%
Starting point is 00:48:18 in one year on a Pittsburgh team that's way better. So help me understand how does that happen? That's what I'm my point is that when it's not all about him there's lots of, if he could just go and freewheel it and take all the ice time and care about getting his points, he'll be fine. But once the team has to win and he's got to give up some of that,
Starting point is 00:48:40 the success isn't there. I just don't know that he can. I mean, I think there's definitely the work ethic thing, but it's like, Eric Carlson's much more valuable putting up points than trying to be good defensively. He's never been good defensively. They have not asking him to be good defensively.
Starting point is 00:48:53 They also have Chris LaTang who's never really been good defensively. And so when they went out and made that trade, you can go find the videos. They're on YouTube somewhere. I was saying this is not a guy that they need. They don't need another Chris LaTang. They don't need Eric Carlson. They need a true defender.
Starting point is 00:49:09 They need a stud defender. And they didn't go out and get it. And if you couple that, you have a couple guys in the back end that are past their prime. We're always more offense than defense anyway. But so they've become leaky and your goalie. And Evgeny Malks is this week. This is how bad this team has been. Evgeny Malkin off to the best start of his career.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Hart trophy winner. Best start of his career this year. and they're still nowhere. Is there any chance? I referenced it last week, that it was a Dallas situation where Sagan and Ben are still parts of it. So Crosby and Malkin, those guys,
Starting point is 00:49:44 but they don't have the, the pieces, younger pieces and draft. Robertson hints, Stankovin, like there's no kids coming. The pipeline's empty. Well, that's because they didn't have any picks. And then they compounded the problem and made it worse. Okay. And so the only guy that they have in their system is Rucker McGority.
Starting point is 00:50:05 That's it. One guy. He looked at their draft picks last. Like they don't even have a fluke. Like a, you know what I mean? Most teams will have someone somewhere late that kind of turns out. I think it was D. Simone, wasn't it? Yeah, like Dominic Simone was the last guy that actually played any number of games that came after.
Starting point is 00:50:24 Now they've got your Blomquist in that second round pick. That's, that's really kind of it. And so just to get back. to like where the the state this was when Dubus took over because I don't love the move, but this was a mess before he got there. They wouldn't have gone and hired him. Jared McCann, great player, 40 goals, been great for Seattle, seventh rounder for him. They move a second for Granlin, who was not a fit.
Starting point is 00:50:46 Marino and Matheson moved out for Petrie. They extend Capitan and Jeff Carter. Those are disasters. Like this was a long run of bad GMing. It's not two years of Duke. This is, it's Tubis plus the Hextel era. No, but he just compounded the. problem. Correct. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:02 They were up shit creek and now Sid's locked in at a low number. I feel. I don't know what your take with the Sid is. Oh, I just wish you. I mean, this is a Ryan Pinder thing. It's not in anybody but youth. Like, he's taking them. He doesn't want to go anywhere. So you don't want to see Sid in the playoffs ever again?
Starting point is 00:51:18 He's won three Stanley Cox. Do you say yes or no? I don't need to see it again. Okay. He's done his winning. I would like see him in the playoffs. There's a lot of young kids in the league. I don't sit there on opening night and think, man, where's sit? It's like, well, there's McKinnon and there's Kind of about Rushmore guy. I'd like to see him in the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:51:32 I don't know. He already is. He doesn't need to do anymore. Back to back, con smiths. Like, scored the golden goal. What else does he have to do?
Starting point is 00:51:40 You're both right. He doesn't have to be. I'm not looking backwards. I'm kind of just lamenting the loss. But when you say it, you're like you're, you're painting the penguins with the, and Crosby with a bad brush for doing that signing.
Starting point is 00:51:53 It's like, well, he can do it for the F he wants. For him staying. And if he wants to win a cup, he's at fault. Yeah. But he's one,
Starting point is 00:52:00 three cups. If only he had your winning attitude. Yes, I just want him to play into playoffs. That's my takes what I just said. No, you didn't. Then you said there was a fault. So you, anyway, you're, it's, it's fine. It's both. And I don't think Sid's signing back in Pittsburgh at that number hurts Pittsburgh. And if not at all, yeah, it's, it's, it's just, yeah, he, he's, he's, I, yeah, I, I, I think I, I don't know, I just wish he was on a good team. There we go. Yeah. I wish he was on a good team. Uh, uh, Stamcoast back to Tampa tonight with his one goal in eight games. One point.
Starting point is 00:52:37 One point. Didn't overtime winner. I think it was shade of Mars or so the other day. So there's probably feels good. Made a nice play. And there's a two in a row after five losses in a row. Pret, no, three. They've won three in a row.
Starting point is 00:52:49 Okay. So here we go. Well, is that, is that here we go? It happens that early in the season. You'd like there to be some build up. Hey, Stamco's, we're going to be coming back here. Tampa Bay looks all right. That's the other thing too, right?
Starting point is 00:53:04 When the team that you, I think they're doing okay without me. Yeah, that's, that's probably the toughest part. It's not just that Stamcoast has really struggled. It's also that Tampa looks like you can certainly make the argument that they- You're running around with.
Starting point is 00:53:18 They made the right move. Young guy. What's he got that I, that I, that I got. No, I think it's, that was another one we talked about all year last year. You were very much on point of saying, move on, move on from Stamcoast. You've done your winning.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I, yeah, but for me, it was, you don't need to bring Stamcoast back to have success in Tampa Bay. And you might be better off getting, letting him go. We're not, I mean, we're eight games in. So sure, Tampa Bay looks good. Where are you out on Nashville? I think they've got a ton of room to get better. Soros, you see just finally kind of getting back to his form. It took him a while to get his first.
Starting point is 00:54:00 win of the year, 33 save shutout. He does that. His numbers are sort of getting back on track. He's, I think he's at 908 now on the season, which after a couple tough ones shows you how good he's been of late. That power play, they've got five all-stars on the ice. And they should find a way to figure it out. I mean, Marsha So, Forsberg, Yose, like you've got Stamco's tons of talent that there's no reason why that shouldn't be one of the best power plays in the league. It's going to take some getting used to, some new faces, different things to work in. But look, I'm still bullish on the Preds. I know that it's been a tough start.
Starting point is 00:54:40 I know there's been some parts of their game that have been confounding. I think that team is a playoff team in the Central without reservation. Even after that, wasn't there some stat that no teams ever started Owen five and made it? in the salary cap era it's happened the last one was back when ret was playing 1996 yeah we saw the oilers in 32nd last year in november voice i'd not too yeah like it's still early and most of these things you can explain with just boltening and shooting percentages like the oilers have a shitty goaltending and then they haven't now they're winning again same was last year just tell me though when you look at like look at the west yeah it seems to me there's like five really good teams and then a whole ton of mush Am I? Well, I don't know. Where, yeah, like there's, again,
Starting point is 00:55:29 you have Colorado? It was Colorado in the mush? Where's Colorado? Because I think they're a great team, but they haven't necessarily looked like it yet. But they have. They've won, they went 0 and 4.
Starting point is 00:55:36 They've now won 5 straight. Kale McCar and McKinnon are on. Right. So they're 5 and 4, so you'd put them in the top 5 for the West? Yeah. Like, that's where I expect them to be. They're not there now.
Starting point is 00:55:45 I'm not. I just, I, look, I think right now, they've had three really good players. carry that team. Yeah. And that's it. Like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:55:58 Eustace Anan has come up with some big saves. He's won four of those five games. And his save percentage in that stretch is 927. So they've gotten some saves finally. Devonti's stock. Reinforcements are on the way. Natushkin is on his way back. And you're right,
Starting point is 00:56:16 they got Taves back. Natushkin's just under three weeks away. To me, I just have real reservations about their goal. though. They've proven they can outscore it, but there was Jared Bednar over the weekend saying, well, I still look at Alexander Giorgiyev as our number one. And Eustace Anon is like 20 games into his NHL career. They have to make a decision at some point in the near future on Capocacan with his conditioning loan. I just think we've seen a really big sample size to show that Alexander Georgiev ain't it. And I'm not ready to declare the abs in that top.
Starting point is 00:56:54 five based on Eustace Anonanin. Well, we're big on top five. Sorry, right. I was going to say we love a good top five. Who would be in Frank's top five? What's your top? I don't. In the West?
Starting point is 00:57:03 Yeah, that's right. So it would be Winnipeg, Dallas, Vegas. I'm still putting Edmonton there. And right now I'll put Vancouver. Lankin and settled. They've only lost one in regulation. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:18 And two of the games that, you know, you guys saw it against Calgary, one of, like two of those were blown third period leads. I don't it doesn't seem like that's going to happen all that often or be a reoccurring team against calgary game one now ret uh ret's uh ret tough reds reds top five uh i i'm she uh same as franks okay i'm but i do have a question on a limb for us in the top five the kings right now sit in the top five in the west i was stunned to see the record yeah i was so you brought up colorado and there's i so he went to the standing i had no idea five two and two 12 points whatever
Starting point is 00:57:54 the Kings. Same? No Goldie? I just don't think they have the depth. That to me is where I look at the Kings and say I mean they're scoring more this year than they were last year. The system change I think has been good.
Starting point is 00:58:10 But I think they're severely lacking the depth. Neither you guys have the flames in there. Well, two losses in a row. How's everyone feeling? We're off the bandwagon. Feeling more normal than when they'd won five in a row to start to season, Frank, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:58:26 This is kind of more what we expected. Sounds like that. And that's, I think, what everyone expected. So no one was willing to declare, hey, like, they're, they're a playoff team. When do you make the determination? Like, to me, it's sometimes just after Halloween. Like, you start to get into late next week and I'm going, okay, if they're like seven and two or something, there's probably a really good chance to Flames make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Yeah, I don't think anybody's super shocked at what, uh, it was like a nice little run. and then you lose some. I would say so Barkoff back for the Panthers. They were without Kichuk for a while. They've had back to back years where they've played so much hockey, the Stanley Cup hangover and all of that.
Starting point is 00:59:08 They're still six, three and one and atop the Atlantic. Vitamin D. Is that what it is? What do you make of the, of the Panthers and seemingly Red loves going on? We just keep playing.
Starting point is 00:59:19 Just keep winning. I continue to underestimate their defense. like it seems like they either have a really talented group that's evaluating who they're bringing in, which is certainly possible and or they've got some of the best coaching in the league because they've removed Oliver Ekman-Larsen and removed Brandon Montour and last year to start the year. They were without Montor and Eckblad and they didn't miss a beat then. They haven't missed a beat now. Like I thought to me between two consecutive runs to the final and a cup that you'd
Starting point is 00:59:54 and losing those guys that you'd probably see this team, at least even to start, play a little bit disinterested. Oh, Sam Reinhart, he can't go out and score at that pace again. Oh, like all these different reasons to doubt this team. And yet they're still right there. They're young. And look, they found Foresling on the waiver wire. And now he's making what?
Starting point is 01:00:15 He's like on an eight year deal, six year deal. Like these guys have always been very, very efficient. There's no bad money on that roster. Now that Bob is elite again. It's, that's a team that is not wasting money. They're not burning $10 million on buyouts and guys in the miners and shitty third pair guys. It's impressive. And it's probably only going to get better, right?
Starting point is 01:00:36 Because you look at, you know, the new contract for Sam Reinhart. You look at the new deal for Carter Verhegey. Like these are all value deals. Is Aaron Eckblad going to be next? What is Sam Bennett? One of the league leaders so far. What's he going to sign for? Like they're just, everyone seems pretty content.
Starting point is 01:00:54 to be in a great set up, great environment on a team that wins with also low pressure. And obviously, Eckblad doesn't fall into that category because he was drafted there, but you look at guys like Bennett and Verhege and Reinhart. They've gone from situations that were less than ideal and didn't win a lot to all of a sudden, you're in Florida and life is great and, hey, look what's on my hand. Reinhart was in that decade of darkness in Buffalo, a big part of it. And hey, we built this sparkling new practice facility that's so close to where everyone lives at the beach that you can drive your golf cart there.
Starting point is 01:01:25 And it's 80 degrees in the winter Fahrenheit. And, and, and their building's finally full. Like, there's just, there's really nothing to not like about the scenario. And I did want to give some credit because I did mention their talent evaluation. The guy behind Carter Verhegey and Gustav Forsling and end, doesn't really get talked about a lot, but it's Rick Dudley. Really? Doug.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Rick, it's impressive stuff. Everybody loves duds. Like Adam Boquis is the other guy now. Like it's the first rounder and then he gets traded in the Seth Jones deal and now off the scrap. He's going to be a stud, isn't he? Like this is wild how they do this? Yeah. Again, I'm not convinced that's the case.
Starting point is 01:02:06 But they clearly see something in these guys that a lot of the rest of the league doesn't. Fly Eagles fly, Frank? Yesterday was solid. Yes. Halloween, a couple days from now. Well, a couple of kids, what are the, what are the kids wearing and what are you wearing? So my son is going as, uh, Charlie Conway from the Mighty Ducks. Of course, very good.
Starting point is 01:02:33 My daughter has an inflatable puppy suit. And I'm going to, I don't know, sit around and wear a Charlestown chiefs jersey. And what's Frank's favorite, uh, pretend like I'm a local drunk. What's your favorite Halloween treat? Or do you wait for Halloween? Is there one around Halloween? What does that mean? Did he say, do I even wait for Halloween?
Starting point is 01:03:00 Yeah, that's what? What are you saying? I don't have any self-reliance. Did I take a shot? What are you saying? I don't have any discipline. I am not a big chocolate guy. I like gummy candy.
Starting point is 01:03:14 So like Sour Patch Kids. Yeah, anything like that. Right. Nice. Yeah. I didn't know it was legal. That's what, yeah, it is. Is lead weagle?
Starting point is 01:03:24 I think so, something like that. Frank, appreciate you. Good to have you back. Have a good week, buddy. See you guys. There you go. Frank Survelli. On the insider hotline,
Starting point is 01:03:31 a presentation of Crystal Waters, plumbing, and heating, Barnburner customers who need a new hot water heater, AC or furnace, discounts, I'm up to $1,000 in value. Crystal Waters. Plumbing and heating is your crystal clear choice for home comfort. The number to call 403-219. 4,100.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Check them out at Crystal Clear Calgary.com. Yeah. There it is. Tonight. Flames. Vegas. I know. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:04:00 At the T-Mobile. It's not been a great set of hosts they've had there over the last, what, seven years. They were good. 3.1-1 against Vegas last year, but yeah, it just seems like, I mean, we were there twice.
Starting point is 01:04:14 Oof. It was the mom's trip. It took them 11 minutes to get a shot one. It was a disaster. It's a PG-13 rating. whenever we've been there. Not ideal. But,
Starting point is 01:04:24 late game. Is that our time change thing? There's an eight, I think it's an eight o'clocker. Oh good. And you're doing. Yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 01:04:32 that's all right though. Got to watch the game anyway. Got to watch the game. Got to watch the game. Got to watch the game. Me and Mike Gould. And your boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:40 He'll be loving on Pinder and taking runs at Rett. That's my guess. And the Oilers. Yeah. That's right. He'll be doing his best Pinder impression. See, I don't know many do better.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Any peach sherelli shots or, or does he do a Jim Benning impression? I'm not sure. We'll see, maybe tonight. So check that out after the game tonight. But it is the Flames game days to get your helmets on. Flames, Vegas to get us ready. It's time for the Pinder report.
Starting point is 01:05:05 How do you feel about it today? We got a lot of football. I don't know if it was just me, but the NFL was Trez entertaining yesterday. I don't know what that is. Village Honda presents the Pinder report. More flexibility, more payment options, explore Honda's new 28-month stretch lease.
Starting point is 01:05:20 stretch lees. It's available at Village Haunt, applicable to new CRV, HRV, and civic vehicles. However, offer ends soon. It's the Pinder Report. All right, fellas, we start with the game day for the Calgary Flames.
Starting point is 01:05:38 There's now some cadre. He's got his helmet on. He's ready. Dean? Do you have your helmet on? Are you ready? Close. You got some time.
Starting point is 01:05:47 It's a game day. You got some time. That's good. We'll get to it. I don't know. if it's crept up on you, but here it is tonight. Game number 999 for Michael Backland.
Starting point is 01:05:59 Heads up. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Yeah. Right. Right. which would make potentially Wednesday game number 1,000. So I suppose we will start the fanfare and the 48-hour buildup towards an impressive miles. I think only Jerome's got more. This would be a great poll or trivia question.
Starting point is 01:06:25 Okay. They always get a guy a gift, right? Yes. I don't think he's a outdoorsman. Not going to get a boat. A boat. Painting maybe. Like what?
Starting point is 01:06:36 What is he into? what's exactly what is he is he badard he's all about is it a soap scope remember are we yes that was beautiful that was who got the soap scope someone in toronto got the soap scope it's like uh that's so deep god both you know incredible i've made you smile and you smile and ret said that live in the show and we almost pissed their pants if you hit a thousand and if you're if your teammates what would they have got there's always been watches yeah bottles of wine i think he likes wine So there might be a magnum of some fancy wine.
Starting point is 01:07:11 For me, I don't know. Another hot tub. Another. Does he want a cold punch? You're one of those barrels? They got them at the rink. Anyway, you can follow this up. He might not make it.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Here's the standings of the Pacific to Pacific rivals going ahead to head in the nights and the flames from T-Mobile right near the top. Vegas has been quite tidy, fellas. they are the highest scoring offense in the NHL, averaging four and two-thirds goals a game. That's impressive. Stone is on some kind of heater. You'll see it in my bet three, six, five bets,
Starting point is 01:07:49 but he's had three two-point games in a row. Is he leading the league in scoring, I believe? That would be an impressive feat if he was. It's a good team. And we keep waiting for them to like, well, you know, you can't just keep trading away your firsts and being jerks to guys there. And, you know, it's something.
Starting point is 01:08:06 is going to come home to Roost. They're really good still. They've scored 19 goals in their last three games. There's like the Flames first season. It's scored 16. It's some impressive stuff there. Schedule for the Flames looks like this. It's a two-game roadie.
Starting point is 01:08:21 Falled with a return home for a pair. There it is. A little desert swing from Vegas to Salt Lake City. Home for the Markstrom ball clash on Friday night. where Jack's going to get all pissed up, wishing he had free malts and popcorn paying too much for tickets.
Starting point is 01:08:38 And then, of course, Sunday night is the return of the Oilers. Flames and always, I believe, only play three times this year. This is game two. Both of them Sundays at six. What's wrong with six?
Starting point is 01:08:49 Six is great. None of them are six Sundays a problem. Why? So people like to get up and get absolutely blasted for the Oilers and Sunday, it's tough to do that. Is that what people?
Starting point is 01:08:59 Yeah, people really promote the earlier. It just, you know, like Saturday at eight. That feels like Flames Oilers, right? Hockey night, old country's watching. You can really get blasted then.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Yeah, well, that too. But it's just not a typical stage. But you said for the Sunday at 6 is not good. Yeah, it's tough to get into it. The building's not as juicy and it's Sunday. You're going to work tomorrow. We've a lot of beer in those Saturday night games, you know? That's your concern for sure.
Starting point is 01:09:24 I just wish they had these things showcased a little bit. Right. Fucking one of the great rammaries in sports, right? Hide on a Sunday night and stuff like that. Okay. I'm only, I'm going to say this to be a put. But in what world is that one of the great rivalries in sports? Like who outside of Alberta, where is this?
Starting point is 01:09:41 And in the iteration of these two teams. Yeah. Look, like in 2024, it does not hit the register. In the spring of 2022, this was a series that hockey fans from all over the world were very interested in. It was not just a series. We were told by Matt Sikaris, we were given the unfortunate news. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:00 That for a long time, it was Calgary and Vancouver. they were bitter off. Yeah. They've moved on to Edmonton. And he thinks that Edmonton, they've moved on to Vancouver. After last year's playoff series, yeah,
Starting point is 01:10:10 they feel like going on a collision course again. I love it. Where are the flames? There's the hell are we rebuilding. Who are we rivaling? Who's what are we going to? Maybe this Utah team. The Salt Lake againless.
Starting point is 01:10:23 Stole our kids. That's right. The jerks. We'll see on Wednesday. Here's the Vegas forwards in D. Let's take a peek. you'll recognize some names here fellas up top that top lines been great barbershift coming over for what a second at the deadline two years ago god that trades look good hottest start of his career wow 12 points hurdle they added last year uh we'll give you a 25th or a 26 first rounder we'll just yeah we might want to use it later and then they go get hurdle um who has been much better this year than he was last year when he arrived
Starting point is 01:10:53 d'orfeyev has progressed into a top six role there while bill back in healthy centering the third line he's fresh back from injury And there's that waltz. He was going to be a flame. Yeah, I don't know that you want him to be at this point. It hasn't been great. I thought it was going to be the big. What's that? I thought he's out of good start.
Starting point is 01:11:12 I didn't read that. I haven't looked at the numbers. D. Per is someone moaning about him the other day. Maybe I misinterpreted it. Here's the D pair. There is no Hanofin. Top pair D man.
Starting point is 01:11:23 Top pair, man. Who knew? You got him with Petrangelo, Theodore with White Cloud. It's a nice top four. The McNab and Corsack. Haig is out. as well. He played a
Starting point is 01:11:33 role. Vic Olives and the former Sabre also. Oh, Vic. Nicked up. That's them. That is them. The American League teams do quite well here. And we saw Dan Vlodar laboring to get to the bench.
Starting point is 01:11:47 We wondered if this guy might be coming to Calgary. Right quick. Things out in a beautiful save. Devin Cooley found. Jack of Sean once again. sends it to Bradley winds up in flashing the leather is Cooley. A couple different helmets.
Starting point is 01:12:07 That must not be the same game. Cooley's been unbelievable. Or maybe was it a fantastic. An equipment malfunctioned. That might have been it. Maybe there was one of the snaps broke. Blue pants. You wear the same pants?
Starting point is 01:12:20 That would make sense actually, Dean. That's because I'm wondering. Why would you have a teal helmet? Stop 25 to 26 yesterday. It is a 940. Oh my gosh. It's nine. A percentage and a five in one record that is deadly.
Starting point is 01:12:36 It's last four, almost unbeatable. This is a good problem to have, fellas. You keep them down there, you get to let's put our hot, ship them out, and Devin Cooley's your backup.
Starting point is 01:12:45 Let's go. Going to be March already. Let's go, Connie. Easy peasy, right? Really? March already. Skipping ahead. I just want to see,
Starting point is 01:12:53 can't wait. It's a big leap. Can't wait. Kind of like Christmas. And Christmas. Just around the corner. This is Halloween's done. You're going to start here.
Starting point is 01:13:01 hearing that stuff. You see Tage Thompson, Rip the hardest slap shot recorded in the Danes era. But Turkey, Dalene Thompson. There it comes. And the save is made to the rebound score. Definitely. So it was on Nets. 104.7. That's the juicy rebound, isn't it? Like, just a rifle. Oh. He's out. How long has this measurement system been out, the edge? Not only a few years, the edge, but they were tracking shot speeds for a while Yeah, with the blue puck.
Starting point is 01:13:32 Remember the red and the... All I know is 105 is pretty tidy, fellas. How come we're not getting above it? With all this technology, Dean, and the efforts and focus on shooting and getting the puck up, why is it not? Because these kids are soft. They're not as testes. Escalating.
Starting point is 01:13:49 Practicing slappers. It's all about wrist shots. And you know what it is? It's Michigan's. Yeah, they're all doing missions. Worry about their little scoopied, flicked stupid Michigan goals. Work on your power. We're going to, on the power. Shoot, guys.
Starting point is 01:14:02 Come on. Shoot. Slap shot working. NHL tonight. Let's look at the slate. It's a big one. There's one that you noted. Do you know I was going to ask Rhett to find it?
Starting point is 01:14:10 But there it is. It's Stamcoast back to Tampa. 530 Mountain. Oh, to be boring. Also in there, the Oilers are in Columbus who are off to a sneaky, very good start. In the line of Monaghan, what, I think Marshenko and Chinikov have been sensational to start the year.
Starting point is 01:14:30 Jets with a chance to go, what, nine and oh? that would be impressive. And then Franks Palbadard up against the abs who are getting healthier, as we're told. Maybe the sharks win tonight? Exciting slate, guys. Very exciting. Very.
Starting point is 01:14:44 Frozen friends. Football, let's get to it. The Bears screwed it all up. They screwed it all up. But the good news is, no, they didn't. The Bears did not screw it all up. They allowed a Hail Mary with no time of the clock and lost a game they should have won. And some Bears fans were in.
Starting point is 01:15:02 the Potomac Basin in Washington. Great crab cake. What do you got for the bruntan? This is the play of the game. We need you. We need you, David. You're going to leave now? Let's see it.
Starting point is 01:15:20 Let's see it. Nothing. That's it. Get there, get there. Hope. No, no. Oh, nice. When all that way, you're on the road,
Starting point is 01:15:58 your team had a win until that face. It's a lot of money to spend a lot. It is, yeah. Yeah. Could be worse. You could be a fan of the Jets. They fucking suck. Oh, wow. Bam. Thing.
Starting point is 01:16:14 Yeah, it's been a tough go for the Aaron Rogers reunion tour with all of his old friends. Of course it's not. He's only the quarterback of the team doing less than Zach Wilson did in the same spot last year with lesser talent. It's the first time in a while. Jet scored 20 plus points, no turnovers, and held their opponent to under 250 yards of offense. That is a formula for victory traditionally, Dean. From 1940 until yesterday, teams were 756 and 0.
Starting point is 01:16:42 Say it again. 756 and 0 when they hit those three metrics. I appreciate my pants last night. Yeah, that day game, but sure. What was the bottom line? I missed that one. The chance something. I lost to New England.
Starting point is 01:16:57 Oh, that's bad. New England, they're good? Yes. New England. They're very good. No. Not really. No.
Starting point is 01:17:05 They're quite bad. That's bad. Oh, no. Oh, that's great. We're being rational, right? It's barely New Jersey. That's quite new. I mean, he hasn't been there that long.
Starting point is 01:17:16 No. It's a couple, hondo. burned up quick. Yeah. Does it smell like plastic? I feel like you don't want to be that close. You got to back off. Synthetic.
Starting point is 01:17:26 Don't wear those at your cookout. She go. Aaron says postgame. Offense should be putting up 30 a week. No problems. Special teams of defense worry about themselves. Offense is going to put up 30. Shouldn't be an issue with all the talent now.
Starting point is 01:17:42 They lost 25, 22. Yeah. To the Patriots. The Patriots. Well, at least it's going better in the other, team in New York. Since October 13th, the Lions have scored 130 points and the Giants have scored 10
Starting point is 01:17:55 that courtesy of our boy, Jay Cuda with another banger. I have the Giants. Did they have a buy in there? Probably. But I mean, this is still a fact. And Detroit has been impressive while the Giants, well, they've not. Yeah. Yeah. They play tonight, Jack, is that right? Yeah. Yes, tonight.
Starting point is 01:18:12 Gaines and Steelers. See if they're going to end to that to him. Yes, yeah. So I think I found Jack's buddy because he was in Vegas for Jack. Let's check it out. It's, uh, because the know Steelers play tonight. Steelers Super Bowl winner, seven grand, 40 to one potential payout 287 grand. Who's going to, who are going to hire to replace Jack when they win the Super Bowl here? Because that's a big. That's a hell of a bet.
Starting point is 01:18:35 It's a lot of stones for 40 to one team. I'm guessing that duster just was at the tables and won a few. I decided to kill some off for a futures bet. That's a heck of a run at the table. I think he's a Steelers fan or is that just a good bet? I think that's a Steelers fan. Yeah, I don't think it's a good bet. The odds maybe can be debated.
Starting point is 01:18:58 They're going to get a receiver. I think they should be 32 to 1. What great value. I don't know. We knew the Browns weren't be as bad as they were with Deshaun Watson. If someone else got to play quarterback and we're seeing it again, James Winston leads this team to an incredible victory. And yeah, Deshaun Watson, 19 games of Brown never threw over 300. yards. Funny because Winston and Flacco combined six times in their last seven starts.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Just I still, I'm always amazed by the focal point that the NFL is the, the machine that it is. And the this is the mistake that big. This. Yeah, it's true because you're like, you're a Browns fan. It's $25 billion industry. Everyone's really good at what they do. Ryan Lee first overall. How?
Starting point is 01:19:46 How? Can't mess this stuff up. There's too much. Put into it. Yeah. Really like Deshawn Mons. Dean, I'm worried about you. I got you on the burner tonight.
Starting point is 01:19:57 Yes. I'm hoping we can start this baseball game early. And I don't want you to be in a sour mood. You're in great mood. Big Yankees game tonight. Down 2.0. There it is. Well, I mean, the Yankees are favored.
Starting point is 01:20:09 Minus 150. That 3-6-5. This guy here is dead. Oh. It's over? Jackson, we're wearing the hat. You're wearing the hat. You're already calling it dead.
Starting point is 01:20:17 It's over? Two in a row. They won two in a row. how many times this year? Dodgers. Sure they don't mind that news being out there, the Dodgers. Friday was an incredibly entertaining game one. It looked like the Yankees had things locked in,
Starting point is 01:20:50 and then they didn't. I was going to load the bases to pitch to Freddie Freeman. Here are his stats with the bases loaded against lefties the last two years. He's hitting 643 with a slug of 1,571 for an OPS of 2238. Gross. Very gross. Yankees almost did the same thing to them, though, in the game two. Do you know, we need your comments.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Somehow the satellite dish wasn't working. You couldn't get the baseball. No, I would have loved to have had some highlights on the thing there. Do you have any takes? There are zero. The dish was down. Yeah. I had to go outside the big dish.
Starting point is 01:21:30 You crank it? Crank, bro. Guess I'll watch hockey. That's what I said. Or football. Well, let's close it out with a trip down under to you, one of the more terrifying humans on earth. Could be worse being the Yankees.
Starting point is 01:21:42 You could be that punching bag instead. A moot-haven. Callum claws. That's the back there. Oh, look at the fat claws on it. Callum. Oh! That's a mean bastard, though.
Starting point is 01:22:24 I'm not cute. Assholes, right? They really have to be. Oh, huge jerks. Yeah. A little wallabies are nice, but these big ones. I don't know. Thank you, Brad.
Starting point is 01:22:36 That's your Pender report. That's right. Oh, excuse me. Hang on. We got one more thing. I was going to say, so fired up here. We're in the jersey and everything.
Starting point is 01:22:43 I was going to say you're getting... Calvary FC in Hamilton on the weekend yesterday. No, nil, 1-0. They hang on. Let's have a look at the goal that shuttles them straight to the final. They will host on November 9th at Echo Field. Your boy, Marco. He used re-Rodolph officiated the final that Pacific beat Fordshire.
Starting point is 01:23:01 I'm going to be on the Roshchowski here. Oh, nothing. First in Hamilton. It had to be the golden boot winner, Tobias. That's a pretty impressive couple weeks. The brace in the final game of the year to lock down the second seat and the golden boot, and now the goal that sends them to host the final two weekends from now at Akko Field. They would hang on to that least seven minutes, an extra time, heavy sweat yesterday.
Starting point is 01:23:27 day. But the Cavs got it done, fellas. And we've got a final in Calgary, two, not the Saturday, the one after. November 9th. Exent. They play Buffalo at 11 a.m. than the Cavs game. Beautiful day of sports. Sizing up. Really? Yeah. Love it. Right through the wickets. That's why he's pissed off. It's impressive finish. Charducci's much more handsome than he. Yeah, he knows that. yeah anyway congrats to the fellas there you are jacked up and they'll well done i would hope you get pseudo nasty weather November 9 just to whoever's coming into play welcome to outdoors welcome to
Starting point is 01:24:08 elevation welcome to natural turf hostile territory just they're good they don't need weather they don't need help just you've got a little advantage in calgary the only the only natural turn of what you're talking about very good because calgary plays in snow every weekend and no one else? Does cavalry have to play in the game as well? That is correct. He will practice in the conditions for the weeks leading up.
Starting point is 01:24:33 The other team will arrive. Nobody wants the fans want to come out and droves. They're going to come on droves anyway. This is going to be unreal. Let's get some tickets here, right? Okay, there it is. Pender report. Okay, Village Honda, huge selection of pre-owned vehicles,
Starting point is 01:24:47 all makes, all models, all budgets, 90 units on site, 500 more inside the dealership group. That's why Village Honda is your one-stop automotive destination in Calgary. you have you still, are you still winter tires? Have you, come on now. Come on now. Starting point is 01:25:04 That and more. And maybe get the, take the vehicle in for a service, get them to look at things. How's your, how are your fluids? Top the fluids up. Top up your fluids.
Starting point is 01:25:13 You get time to do that. Maybe some fresh wipers for the winter. Oh, fresh wish. It's, you need it. It's one of life's luxuries. When you have fresh wipers on.
Starting point is 01:25:23 Village Honda. Your dealership for life. It's like new socks? Yeah. You like new socks? I love new socks. Yeah. It does not happen very often.

Starting point is 01:26:46 Now, we will take a look at our football bets from Friday tomorrow. Jack, already boasting. he's quite just feeling good hey look if i had his record i'd be boasting too yeah are you making really another three and a week yeah another three in a week what are we about to say i was because are you like how flushes your 365 account you must it's horrible because i make all these player prop bets that lose no no no no no like that let give himself some he's putting like 13 leg over two and a half field goals a game parlay gifts to the gods every week so is there any part of this incredible run year on with our picks that would make you think maybe I should take my advice and do some of
Starting point is 01:27:28 these as opposed to the nine leg I thought about it it's just I don't know yeah I don't like the single bets I can't do it it's not fun that's right doesn't make money I'm putting $10 to win $10 you realize if you just bet $10 on every game you picked in the football picks all year you'd be flush correct unit play adding we'll talk about it later uh but yes you you be like Jack or maybe don't be like Jack. It's a bet 365, the world's largest sports betting platform. Open an account with Bet365 today. Bet on a huge range of markets.
Starting point is 01:28:06 Download the app. Use the promo code nation. Nation. Whatever the sport, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365. I've got a couple for tonight's hockey game. If that's all right. It's delightful. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:28:18 We mentioned how hot Mark Stone is. Two plus points plus 205. He's done that three games in a row. Yeah. And he seems to find himself having success against the flames. Zeri also, as long as it's plus money, I don't mind this over a half point. Math for me, I think he's better than a 41 point player.
Starting point is 01:28:37 So if I'm seeing plus money, I'm just going to hit it every time. I see that. Let's go get it. 17 points in nine games for Mark Stone. When averaging two, basically. Yeah, when his back isn't blown right out. Yeah, completely crippled. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:52 That line, Stone 17, Eichel, 15 barbachev 12 points for each of them in the nine game spread spread spread stretch which is not bad so you try to get back on line on them but they'll have last change there and they're going to have a chance to eat those fellas bet 365 huge range markets download the app use the promo code right there nation whatever the sport whatever the moment it's never ordinary at bet 365 so sundays are way more fun they just are never asked, Rhett,
Starting point is 01:29:26 how was your trip to Seattle? Wet. Yeah, because Bill's Seahawks have been talking about for months, finally you get closed to Seattle, super famous stadium
Starting point is 01:29:35 and, yeah, weather. Grab cakes, lobster rolls. That was a, you had that in your pick. That was a,
Starting point is 01:29:45 would you say that's a beat down? Three of us had that. Yeah, I would say. That line was not right. It just stunk for the moment you saw it. Three points? I don't think these,
Starting point is 01:29:52 everyone should be able to jump on board my pick. Like if you've got a favorite team and you don't take them every week, you don't get to take my favorite team. It's my team, mine alone. I won't bet the bears. I don't know that there's a lot of, but I have one locked in and you guys,
Starting point is 01:30:18 we got over unders and all kinds of weird stuff. You played a money line week one. It was a mistake. He does get oddly defensive about certain things. The one day, can we just talk this out? No, there's no talking. Just make the pick. Congrats on your week, though.
Starting point is 01:30:41 I think you did well, right? Yeah, the commanders. That's how I rule. Commandos. The bills. You got the Steelers tonight. Oh. Well, good luck to you, Rhett.
Starting point is 01:30:51 Thanks. Jack, you stay away from the Steelers tonight? Yeah, I don't touch the Steelers anymore. That's his new key to success this year. I don't know that he's doing that on his own account. So great. I can't wait for the. Oh, the jackometer.
Starting point is 01:31:03 He's stressed out. So excited. He is. Well, he's coming off the greatest game of his life. It's hard to do. The greatest. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:12 I don't know where the Big Ben Super Bowls fit in, but apparently last weekend, the greatest Steelers game, maybe ever. Last three years, for sure. And before we go, any, anyone have hope
Starting point is 01:31:28 for the flames in this matchup tonight. they've lost two in a row Vegas I believe is one they're six and oh at home they've won three in a row they're destroying teams it would be a good time to get your penalty kill right yeah well that'll be the show tomorrow I guess
Starting point is 01:31:43 you're gonna need some Chicago Bears commanders action for the flames tonight yeah yeah see you buddies kid brother you take him get him this time come on Albert at Canadian Tire we carry the best
Starting point is 01:32:31 names in hockey Bauer Cooper CCCM Jaffa and Coho But good equipment is only a beginning. How far you go depends on you. I sure wish we had a guy like that. Yeah.
