Hello, everyone. Welcome to Barn Burner on a Tuesday that feels like a Monday.
Yeah.
Feels like a Friday for you, aren't you taking the rest of the week of?
He's going to work one more day.
Not the rest.
I'm going to work tomorrow.
Yeah.
I think I work tonight.
Oh.
Is it a hot match tonight?
Don't I work tonight?
No, you got next Tuesday.
Didn't you text?
No, you work tomorrow.
What?
This is not to start.
Do the reads.
This is by show presentation.
at Bet365.
A special gaming partner, game props, player props,
totals, the money lawn, whatever your bed is, it's never ordinary.
At Bet365, download the app, get in on the game.
You must be 19 or older.
And, yeah.
Wow.
Super chat for the youth centers of Calgary.
You have a comment, put it into the YouTube chat as we go live.
With some dough we take said dough, give it to the youth centers of Calgary.
Yeah.
Love it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We owe them a check from year one.
I should follow up on that today.
Yeah, sure.
Let down, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, they'll appreciate it.
Welcome to the McLeod Law LLP Studios.
Maybe you're getting married.
You get married?
Do you still need a lawyer to get married?
You got to do some things.
Yeah, you can get one of those AI lawyers to do it.
I would probably go to McLeod Law personally.
Yeah, I just, I found this, what's this?
Oh, pre-up.
Yeah, this is fine.
No, no, no.
I wonder how often in Rets, because we're with,
for an hour and change a day.
I wonder how often through his 24-hour day,
the,
ah, just use AI,
comes up.
Well, not when he's sleeping, but otherwise all the time.
You can't trust it.
I had to tell it what year it was the other day.
Jeez.
What year is this?
You have to tell AI.
2024.
No, it's not.
You're stupid.
Come on, AI.
That's an easy one.
That's a two-foot punch.
Google knows that.
AI doesn't even know what.
Hey, I didn't know.
Just when you start to...
It's our pay for the high end.
Depend on something that lets you down like that.
That's a bugger.
Well, you know, we depend on, Dean.
You know what?
McLeod Law.
That's the standard.
You call McLeod Law right now?
They're going to tell you what year it is.
They're going to tell you it's 2024.
Jeez.
They're not telling you that.
They're not going to...
That's why they're the best because they know what year it is.
And beyond that, they're real good at law stuffies.
Much beyond that.
Yeah.
If we're being honest.
Whatever law...
They'll get you all laud up.
Yeah.
Get your lawyer on.
Yo.
Good to see you.
How was the weekend?
The annual pilgrimage is completed.
How was it?
That's fine.
Did you do the horse and buggy?
Like the old school like rolling across the prairies?
Do some butter churning.
I can see the fam.
The whole family back of the cart.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was it was fine.
The weather hit, of course.
That's why you go home for Thanksgiving and not Christmas
because then the weather all around Christmas,
it could be bad.
Except it was no good.
Christmas weather.
Yeah, it was mint.
You were standing outside just on the edge of the test.
Mint.
Yeah, right by the co-op out there.
It looked nice.
Yeah.
On,
real pretty country there, Dean.
Friday.
Is it Friday?
Yeah, Friday.
Did the show.
And then, uh,
Jackie,
we went out to neighbors,
the Hammons,
wrapping up harvest.
Oh.
They're like,
hey,
if you guys want to come out and,
uh,
do out on the old track,
on the old,
uh,
the combine.
Yeah.
On the,
on the,
on the,
the,
come on out.
Sweet.
So we went out.
Look at this.
So they just let anybody.
A couple of those.
Those are the cloths.
45 foot headers on there, guys.
Yeah, Peter Jack, Coselle says.
45 footers.
They had three.
They're down down to two, but these are a little bit more.
Jack, what are we looking at here?
What's that?
God, I have no idea.
Yeah.
I want to get one of those.
We're taking down the canola there.
Actually, I do have, I got a.
Is that canola?
Yeah, they're taking the, I believe they're taking the canola down there.
And that's the grain cart.
She's not yellow by fall.
That's what I'm like.
And then, um, then as they're going, they dump it into the grain cart there.
And how is that?
They can just keep going.
And the grain cart goes and puts it on the big semi.
My eyes aren't good.
Is that straight cutting?
Is that how they all do it nowadays?
I'm not sure.
I'm not going to pretend.
I know a whole lot about it.
But, okay.
It was time to get her done.
So they got it done.
That was the last, that was their last field.
And we just got there in the knick.
oh time. So you do the last field and then what
right into the whiskey? I'm not sure.
Did you go to the cabaret? The town over?
We did go to the cabaret.
It's a social in our town. It's a cabaret in there.
It's 25 minutes away. It's
a, actually I can send that too probably.
I don't know. I'll send this one to Jackie.
People don't love when the phones are out at these
class functions. There was some thought
as to what we should and shouldn't be showing.
And you said the peelers don't work Thursdays anymore.
Yeah, I guess in Roblin, they, they don't do that sort of thing.
Actually, it might have it here.
So the only fans kill in the small towns.
T-totelers, not a lot of T-totelers, no.
But it, you know what, it went exactly as how I thought it was going to.
I had some expectations going in as to what it might look like.
Nailed it.
So we've been there before.
They had a kind of a celebrity or a charity bull ride.
Remember we were talking about this?
Come and watch.
The human stampede or something?
Human rodeo.
Like, are we going to a rodeo?
What are we doing?
And, of course, it's not a rodeo.
But they had, you know, for charity.
Hey, old Bob Terilliger from the McMund and Yates.
He's raised $300.
To get on the back of this bowl,
he put $300.
So he raised $300 for the old Whoopty-Doo Foundation here.
And okay, Bob, get on the old thing there.
This is not Bob Terwillinger.
That's Jim McGillicetty.
I feel like I recognize.
See the chemist in town?
I look at one of Jacks looking buddies right there.
Or you're going to hit your head.
Yeah, this guy's not sober.
I can tell already.
Yeah, you've got to be a little careful there, but, uh,
is that one of yours?
Uh, maybe.
Jeez.
I was wondering for a while.
When did you get the duster?
That looks unreal.
Oh, he's had it for a while.
Excellent.
He thinks he can grow it, but he can't.
Well, I saw from him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He didn't really.
Front seat.
Didn't really know what to do.
It's like, dig in your heels there, you dope.
Look how far forward is.
Come on, no.
Yeah.
That's embarrassing.
Look at all the old folks.
Oh, they're having a hell of a good time, yeah.
Just loving it.
What's the drinking choice there?
Little plastic cups with dry water or sev, vodka sebs.
Yeah.
What a rye ginger.
Is that too exotic?
And they probably have the Tupperware, the brown Tupperware jugs.
No, you know what?
They had like, oh, they had.
a machine. They had a machine for the soft drink.
They did have, I didn't really
oh, you know what it was? It was just like the
lime. No, it's like a two liter
like a one liter. Oh yeah. Tetra pack
of orange juice or whatever.
But when you
asked for a double, they were already
poured. They didn't have to take
two singles and put them into a cup. It was all
doubled. They were ready
for you. Wow, they're quick. That's how they
pour them there. Yeah. That's how they do it.
I'm going to send you another one, Jack.
again talking about just when you're so proud
you know,
when you're proud of your root.
When you're a proud parent.
So the boy's on the back of the bowl there.
So that's,
you saw how that went.
Incoming,
Jack,
that'll take a minute.
You have a few,
you know,
you have a few drinks and you get,
you know,
it's a small town.
I don't know if people know this.
Sometimes you can get away with a little,
a few more things.
I've heard both because last of you were telling us
the,
everyone's snooping on each other.
Oh, everybody knows what's going on.
Everyone knows what's going on.
You'll get a little more leeway.
Yeah, you maybe get a little bit more.
They know you.
A little more leeway.
You're not a creep.
In, uh,
where they know you're a creep in.
In Vagerville, they've got the egg, you know?
Beautiful.
I forget what they call that.
It's the Ukrainian egg.
Every ten,
you know, some towns have those things.
Up in, was it Lecombe or whatever?
They got the five of diamonds, the fishing lure,
whatever that is.
It's Arthur.
Now, again, this was beef and barley days in Russell.
Beef.
barley, beer, steak, that sort of, you know,
you love that sort of thing.
Arthur is the, he's the town bull.
Oh.
And the signs say clearly when you go to see Arthur,
do not climb on Arthur.
Right.
But sometimes you can't help yourself.
Jeez.
And you just need to.
How can you get on Arthur?
Good looking job.
They'd rather you didn't.
And you know what?
It's just about safety of this.
Back in the day, people would go and they'd be,
they paint Arthur's balls like pink or neon yellow.
That's a tough go.
Well, you've got to find something to do.
Come on, guys.
Fellas, could we leave Arthur's nuts alone?
So that was, yeah, that was part of that.
If you get rid of the nuts, are they a steer?
I forget how that works.
You're a dough, I think.
Serious, a mare.
What else have I got here?
So is hot dogs.
Oh, is that the last one?
What do I put?
I'm trying to remember.
Three videos in the photo.
Congratulations.
Look at the cowboy boots.
Yeah, look at the cowboys.
Real cowboy there.
Those are point toes.
That's a real cowboy.
So then at the end of the night, you know what it's like.
You're kind of hungry.
Oh, yeah.
You guys got to eat.
This is not the great little hot dog.
Hot dog car.
I don't know who these people are, just some strangers.
Oh, the old 106 hot dog.
Just some strangers I ran into outside.
So good.
How is it?
So good.
Yeah.
How is it?
Oh, teary.
Nacho cheese.
I need some butter.
Hickory sticks.
Hickory sticks.
Oh, I like a hickory stick.
That looks so good.
Red all of these.
Have it been darts outside the hot dog place?
Yeah.
Some hot dogs in a hole.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
It's okay.
It's the last.
like tattoos. There we are.
Nothing to see here. And then I realized
very quickly, it's like, who's the creep with the
camera taking an upskirts?
No, I was, no, I was just
their arm wrestling shit.
I have a show on YouTube.
So, how's this old crypt
doing? Small town.
So Saturday night was one hell
of a party. And again, you had expectations.
Those were them. Those were them.
And I don't know if there was a time stamp.
That was about 1140
p.m. It's late early. It's not, yeah.
It got late early.
Those doubles in the plastic cups go down.
And then there's a town called Anglis,
and they have decided to keep all of their grain elevators.
They didn't wipe them out,
so there's still four or five.
So very nice.
I think it's something like the only town of Canada or something
that managed to keep them all.
They're obviously not operational,
but they've kept them and it's a whatever site kind of thing.
Just old bats or something now.
figured we needed to go and see that, of course, when you're...
Holy moll and you're all licked up.
That's amazing.
I don't know if I need to show that.
You can probably figure out what it looks like.
Yeah, I think it's a great elevator.
Anyway, fellas!
I'm just glad that you got...
You're here and all that.
I'm here.
I've made it.
Yeah. I'm surprised you didn't stay.
That looked like a time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we made it.
I was going to bring...
I know people are texting.
Could you guys talk hockey?
We're going to get into it.
Saddle down.
I was going to bring back some sausage and stuff for you guys.
They could.
A gun,
a lot of gun,
a lot of gunners around here.
Did you eat them?
Obviously.
Here's the thing.
Bought the sausage.
Bought enough sausage for everybody.
Got it going.
We were going to have some cheese and pickles.
I bought all that sausage.
I'll take it.
I've been warned a little bit that it was under new ownership.
It wasn't the same and it wasn't as good.
Don't tell me that, Dean.
I don't want to hear this.
But it stayed in Manitoba.
I didn't even bring it home.
That?
I didn't bring it back.
Wasn't worth the trip.
I'm not going to bring that in here for you guys.
Thank you.
Come in and say,
hey, you got to try this sauce for back home.
I'll be like, this is not very good at all.
Yeah, Craig would be at this point.
Thanks, Dean. It was not very good at all.
Really?
Very disappointing.
How do you mess that up?
Why would it just change anything?
I don't know.
I don't know what they're thinking.
Jack, uh,
the summer sausage doesn't even taste like summer sausage.
They have sausage.
All mushy in the metal.
Mushy.
You're up to here.
Mushy.
Mushy.
Finger nose.
Stick to what you had.
It's tough times.
So now the sausage is all gone to shit.
The bakery's closed.
You can't even go in there and get a jam buster anymore.
Close.
Why is it closed?
People aren't support local.
A guy was kind of a grumpy prick anyway.
Yeah, but that's part of the charm.
You could have bought that bakery.
You love baking.
He was a grumpy guy.
He was a lover's bakery.
Yeah.
The Parkland bakery.
She go.
So an older guy had to wake up really early every day and he was grumpy.
The story checks out.
That tracks.
Seems to run.
Fellas, it's a game day.
Get your helmet on.
The Vegas Golden Knights are here?
Are we there?
Are they here?
In town.
Mitch Marner's Golden Knights.
Two night to take on the Calgary Flames.
Identical 1-0-and-2 records.
Fleck and Neck and the Golden Knights.
We're neck-and-neck.
Neck and neck in the standings.
It's not a lot neck and neck there, but the records are the same.
The records are the same.
That does, I think, pass the smell test.
It surprises me because they were piling up goals.
Pavel Dorafeaev has leading the league.
Pavl Dorofia, five goals in three games.
Had a hat trick opening night.
He is a prolific goal scorer.
It's been a good start for Jack Eichel.
He's got seven points in his first three games.
Good player, yeah.
Marner's there.
They're a good team.
team.
Oh.
They won the division, I believe, last year.
And you would think they've actually gotten better from missing the playoffs the year before.
Well, Mitch Marner's there.
He's good, isn't he?
Yeah, he's, he's good.
It's not the playoffs yet.
So, yeah.
So anyway, that's, uh, that's the buildup.
That's their, that's their story.
They're very good.
The flames are coming off a loss on home opener afternoon against the St.
Los Blas.
Saturday, Mattney.
Had a, had a lead.
Looked quite good, I thought.
through the first half, 30 minutes.
Yeah.
30 some minutes.
Yeah.
But then the Blues would score two in just over two minutes.
And they got Joel Hofer, eh?
Then in the third, they scored another two goals in a short, under two minutes.
Oh, Joel Hofer, eh?
Well, Joel Hofer made some stops.
But this looks like a goal challenged Calgary Flames team.
Which is odd because last year that, no, they were goal challenged last year too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's not out at all.
How can't we help?
I don't know.
You can't score many goals.
We never played in the league.
I don't waste any.
I yell at the screen for them to shoot when I'm watching.
Shoot.
People in the stands.
Do that too.
That doesn't help.
Now, wait.
What do you do with your Yankees?
Oh, that didn't work either.
Nope.
No.
This is not a best of five.
This is an 82 game March, fellas.
Yeah.
Uh, Wolf made his third straight start.
Oh, he's exhausted.
Third straight start in less than three days.
We are tracking for a Devin Cooley start tomorrow night in Utah.
They're here and then in Utah.
Tomorrow night, back to back.
Second back to back in their first five games.
Gary, what are you doing?
Oh, we got to go to the Olympics.
They're going to go to the Olympics.
They're going to Milan and Cortina.
Tonight, home to Vegas.
Tomorrow, Utah.
And then they're in Vegas on the weekend.
Yeah.
And then they play two in their next three against Winnipeg.
They've got the habs, the Leafs, the Sends, the Rends, the Ruff.
Rangers, it is not an easy month to start the season.
Depending how you feel about Utah,
there might be one soft touch in there.
Can you say those games again?
Tonight, Vegas.
Tough.
Utah tomorrow, second half of a back to back.
And then that starts every other day till the end of the month.
Vegas Saturday, Winnipeg Monday, Montreal.
It's nice to get into a routine.
They'll be in a rhythm, all right?
Yeah, that's a, yeah, rhythm nation.
But like Winnipeg, what, won the division last year, the Central?
Jackson.
He, so hot.
Nips live.
Some potentially very good teams in there.
Yeah. In fact, if you were trying to say I could guarantee one of the teams
will miss the playoffs, I don't know who I'd pick. Maybe Utah.
Get to Vegas after the game in Utah hit the town.
Oh, they will actually.
Hello.
Oh, the bars might be closed.
In Vegas, yeah, they closed early. I've heard that.
Anyway.
The bars might be closed.
He's sassy.
Yeah.
See you next Tuesday.
I'm not sure if there's, like in San Jose, you got that flight thing with the.
Yeah, you got to get out of there.
Yeah, the real Titan mega, a lot of rules.
So they can't score.
You were at the game against St. Loss.
Yeah, give us the real vibe.
Well, look, to Dean's point, they started great.
I mean, you get the goal.
Anderson somehow misses like a breakaway tap-in.
Great feed from Gridden on that play.
Excellent feed.
And then you had early in the second a Fairby Post.
And then Hofer makes his two best saves of the night,
diving across to his right to stop Coronado.
And then he had another save on Hansick right after that.
And that was your chance to go up 2-0, 3-0-0 or 4-0-0.
And instead it's 1-0-0.
And now the blues, they're going to get their turn having some chances.
And they didn't miss theirs.
Four goals go in.
Three are deflected in front of Wolf.
The one is a power play goal that.
A lot of penalties.
Thomas has given a lot of room to just kind of walk and pick his spot.
It was a special teams fest early.
Half the first period was power plays.
They did finally score on a power play, the flames, but that was their.
Yeah, they score a lot.
So there you go.
Peret got in 1721, a nice time, played four and a half on the power play, hit a goal post, I believe.
I liked it the one zone entry play, Ed, where he kind of zips it over, gets in deep and
had a scoring chance.
But yeah, look, they look like a team that's going to struggle to score goals.
And they have been a team that struggles to score goals.
and on Saturday they struggled to score goals.
That game was theirs if they just capitalized on their chances early.
Yeah.
And it's like two tip point shots in the third and you're like,
well,
you can't put those on Wolf,
but all of a sudden it's like,
do we?
You're justifying all these wolf goals because they aren't scoring any.
If you're only going to get one or two,
yeah, it is going to be,
well, should you stop.
Well, no, this should be up three, four nothing.
Or, and just regardless, like you say,
oh, it's tip, oh, this should you blame?
Well, they're going to need five to win now at the very least.
Right.
How are you getting to five?
Well, I mean, all the chances we just mentioned, you got to bury.
That's it.
And they were all in the first half of the game.
It's the curse of the backup, Dean.
The backups always play well than they come to Calgary.
Yeah.
It's a curse in the flames.
It's so, yeah, geez.
Is that an indicator that we should be worried that the rest of the league's on to us as far as our scoring abilities?
Well, they used a lot of backups last year.
They got 96 points, but, yeah, look, it's just on paper.
They're not going to score a lot.
or in a game.
Well, that too, especially, yeah.
I mean, I think it all kind of, yeah,
it all ends up in the same big thought.
Yeah, it does.
It's like Nasm's 35,
where we're thinking he's going to have a career year again?
Because not a lot of guys have those beyond 35,
and he's still a very good player.
Then, okay, you're missing Huberto,
who is not a $10.5 million dollar player,
but is a good NHLer.
And then it's, okay, well, where are the goals coming?
Huberto back skating as of today.
As of today.
He's not missing the Vegas trip.
You're kidding me?
He'll likely make the road trip.
Yeah, he's going to travel.
Where he gets in seems to be the question.
Will it be tonight?
We'll be tomorrow, Utah.
We'll be Vegas on Saturday.
And not pospical yet.
No, which is odd because he was the guy
that got cut in him was skating the next day.
And he, we would have said,
would have been the first back.
Oh, it's just a cut.
But clearly it was more than just a cut.
Hopefully it's not more than a cut.
You don't want to get a cut infected?
No.
Maybe add too much turkey.
Do they eat turkey?
I'm sure there was any from a Czech.
I thought they were carp people.
They played Saturday and not again until today.
They would have a carp.
Really?
Yeah, Dickie.
Old Dick Smolick.
Mm-hmm.
Tough to get around, Dickie.
He was a big man.
Yeah.
And he stunk.
Tough to be around him and get around him.
You'd love that fermented Swedish fish thing.
See a dog guy.
Really?
trains dogs through.
No kidding.
High-end train.
You must hate him.
Dog Schmellick.
Can't stand him.
So the flames stink and but the stamps, boy.
Smellick stinks.
Stamps got a big dub.
Huge win for the stamps.
That was big.
They needed to tighten things up, a bit of a skid.
Can't let those last.
Lost four in a row, went into the buy.
Didn't we have 96 points last year with the flames, but we went five and O to start or something?
That's correct.
Correct.
I think they might have got five o one.
Kind of bounce around.
Sorry.
Trying to different.
didn't work last year did it that's good point you go win a shit load at the front that
don't matter let's try it differently this year make sure we don't go five out just drop a few
yeah drop a few face some resiliency and some adversity early want that adversity right away
then get after it boys pressure right off your back's right yeah uh we got new d pairs today
practice okay you're gonna hate it what i don't hate anything they do down there i just want them
to have success well i want to be a good fan i was going to wear
my flames hat today.
You didn't. Because I'm a big sport. It's a booster. It's a booster.
Couldn't fight it.
I don't know if I have. Are you ready for the Weger Miro
tandem again? Yes.
I was going to say no, but okay.
Top four, Daniel. It's a big deal.
Yep. And this was kind of what I was saying last year, or last week is just like,
at this point, why don't you just put correct there? Like, we know what DeNeil isn't.
we're still trying to, you know,
like Zane, you're seeing flashes.
There's certainly not a refined piece yet.
I'd rather have Perek with Ball or Anderson to be,
and I only, and I mean that honestly,
because I feel like Wigger will have to
cover for Porek, which will limit his ability
to do what he wants to do.
Does that make any sense?
I understand that. Yeah, they're both kind of offensively gear.
Yeah, let, put ball with Porek,
because he ain't doing F all offensively anyway.
Yeah, he's just been stable to Rasm since he got here.
I know, but,
And you can absolutely do it.
It's the one pair that never really changed last year when they were both available
because ball missed, what, like a couple weeks.
But ball's game would be conducive to being able to stay at home.
It does feel like a nice tandem.
Now it doesn't always work out.
But that's what I'd do.
Yeah.
And look, like, if we were all asked, if Rassum was going to get traded to this year,
I think we'd all say probably, yeah.
And so maybe we will see a lot of ball on Perak, just haven't yet.
And here it comes back to the, you know,
You're going to hate it.
Well, it's Danil on the top floor.
But it.
So what?
If it's not Miramano, right?
Is he more offensive?
Daniel?
I mean this seriously?
No, I don't like, no.
Everyone's like, oh, he used to be a forward.
And you're like, that doesn't mean he's an offensive defense.
I was a forward once too.
More offensive than what, though?
Yeah, not than Jake Bean.
They're not scoring.
So as the coaching staff going, well, maybe if we can add this.
I don't know.
I'm just, Jesus, I'm just trying to help out guys.
Don't just jump on me.
Not joking.
Trying to figure out what the hell you're talking about.
Because, yeah, it's, I don't know that putting him there is a, in an effort to get offense.
I think it's just reeks of desperation, if that is.
It's just moving guys around and looking for something.
Kids got to play.
Kids got to play.
Thank you.
Well, and look, they had 96 points or three top four defensemen.
Well, stop saying 96 points.
They did.
They did.
They had 96.
No, that's right.
be really tough to get to
incredible rate, Harry.
But a win over Vegas.
I don't change your
That's how you want to leave town on a roadie.
There is one little Achilles heel
Vegas is shown through their incredibly small start
to the season in terms of like three games.
No, they're allowing goals
on more than a third of their penalty kills.
They don't block shots, chicken chits.
There you go, Rets got it.
It's an easy fix, fellas.
Block some shots.
Golden Knights, chicken shit.
Signed, Red Warner.
That's right.
Stamp it, October 14.
Aden Hill has started in two games.
He took both of the extra time losses.
Akira Schmead has the lone win.
Schmead.
Coming against San Jose.
You want Schmead?
God, yeah.
It's young.
They're going to have signed Carter Hart.
God, yeah.
It's just when you look at, like, is he better than Devin Cooley?
Is he?
Well, I have no idea because I have not seen Cooley play yet.
He's got six in H&H.
games. Shmead's got more. We have a better
idea what Schmead is. What the hell you watch
Schmead for? Well, so you could develop
a young goal. You got a young goal.
He's going to play all your games.
Yeah, it would be to back him up, not to take his job.
Yeah, then he's just, well, okay, I guess
asset management, good for you, Ryan.
Thank you. And I'm out of the deadline.
Get Schmead in here, Conroy.
Quit pissing around. Well, and Elliot had a few
notes on the weekend about that, that he thinks the
flames would like to get a goalie, but they want to have a golly
out if they're going to golly in, which is a
trade, not a waiver claim.
So, you know, they've already assigned, I think.
That sounds tough for a guy that hasn't played and was terrible for the last year.
Well, and we kind of talked about that.
You go to waivers.
Well, then it's an extra goalie.
Yeah.
So now you, you know, it's an extra contract.
You're not moving anything out.
Plus, you got to, you got to have homes for these guys.
Yeah.
So if, if it's just not working and it's too early to say that, he might be totally fine.
But at this point, he's their number three.
If you're in December and he's like, look, this ain't for me.
I thought I was playing on the big club.
Like you can go sign him to Moscow.
Now, listen, I'll say there's two things here.
And I'll give you the first one.
I talked to a guy last week who said he watched
Prasvatov last year.
In the K.
In the K.
Said the guy was unbelievable.
Yeah.
And that's understanding what the level of, you know,
shot quality level,
whatever, but still felt like this guy was incredible and could totally
understand.
And yeah,
flames went for this guy.
I can see why.
Right.
Now, number two,
it was my buddy beef.
but are eager
but he's he watched he watched him on two different occasions last year in both nights he was terrific
and look if you're playing in the k-in-net you're not coming over to the nchl on a one-way deal unless
you look really good in the k that's just the way it is so yeah had a tough camp
because maybe it's just a tough one game but like the story's not done on him but if you get to
mid-season and he's clearly not going to be on the big club you can park him in russia it just
doesn't help you now because you have one extra goal.
And it'll be on.
You have to agree to that?
Yeah.
He would have to want to do that for it to make sense.
There would have to be a need in Russia, but given his track record there,
crazy things have happened.
And for Cooley, I mean, he's fallen ass backwards into a backup job.
Correct.
This is not anything he's earned.
All due respect.
He out played Prazvita.
Christ, there was a point last year about this time where they were saying he was better
than Wolf Cooley.
Like in his first half of the year, it might have been like 930, 935 in the A,
which is incredible.
And then the second half.
quite the opposite.
So he's got it in him.
Got clunked in the head, Dean.
Yep.
Clunky.
Like your kid on that bull.
Yeah, on the big bull there.
Like this roster construction, you were saying clunky, yeah?
Yeah.
Think about it is, boys, you know, it's one of these things.
You think it's all, this is definitely the way this is going.
They're never going to win a game.
And then all of a sudden things turn around, you start getting some power plates.
All the things start, okay, you win some games.
Then when you're winning, like with Jack Steelers, like, we may never lose again.
Never, yeah.
This is the most unbelievable how, like,
can we win two divisions
that's the team in the
FACC, just ask him.
And then things start to go sideways.
Can we?
I believe I could touch the sky.
Can we line up a
Stuart Skinner game against the
Flames again soon? That worked all for them.
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Well, you stop with Skinner. God, that's your go-to
with everything. I had to give him shit the other day,
but were you there? Did you? Yeah.
You gave me shit about scintz.
They're talking about Skinner.
They're going to try about it.
They're going to upgrade the goal.
How the hell are you going to upgrade the goal?
in Edmonton.
You got to spend a lot in trade.
They don't have it.
There's no one available and Skinner's still there and they went to the finals with
them and they know what they got.
They know what they got.
They could get some out of the first.
I don't talk about Skinner Dealers.
InvestMed.
Let's talk about investment.
Yeah, investment.
Would you?
Tell me about it.
I invested in investment.
I invested in myself and my health and my well-being and now I'm losing
weight and they're taking care of me.
Noodles.
They're all situated.
I'm on a path to relative health.
Better health.
Well, that's a good way of saying it, right?
I didn't have to.
He's on the upswing.
You said the other day, you're at your playing weight from your Florida days.
Yeah.
I would say today I weighed in at an exact right around the same weight that I played
50% of my career.
And have you been in that?
Have you been at that level since?
I have not been there since 2009.
That's when you played.
Yeah, that's impressive.
But you're very disciplined.
Well, I got some issues.
Canada's first.
Thanks to invest better, know what they are.
They're not going to turn them into Methuselah.
They're not going to 900.
But they're doing their best.
Yeah.
Canada's first and only private medical testing company.
Exclusive access that you won't find anywhere else.
You don't need to travel abroad.
These are, I got in touch with them a couple weeks later.
I'm in them out.
We're dealing with shit.
Nice.
preventative and proactive testing gives you answers now.
Design for people that value their time.
You're thinking maybe as I grow older, I would like to maintain a good level of health,
or I would like to feel better than I do.
A one-hour consultation with an invest med physician, $199.

There's something potentially serious going on.
Wouldn't you rather know ahead of time rather than when it hits?
And then you attack, if there is something there, as a group, as a team, they don't send you on your way to go and deal with this.
There are issues. Bye.
As a group, you work towards whatever needs being done.
Optimize all aspects of your health so you can enjoy life now and as you age.
Invest dashmed.com.
Is the website.
And I believe we're getting some, uh, some blood work done.
We're going to look.
Are they coming right in here?
They're coming in here.
I'm on the show because they came right to my house.
We did a little, uh, hey, how's she going?
Oh, geez. Have you got one? Oh, oh, that. And that, oh, okay. So, yeah, we're going to do some blood work.
Does any flags in there? Uh-oh. These levels are too high. I'm kind of a private guy.
Your sausage fat is too high. Yeah, you're this too smushy.
That's not what we talked about. Invest dashmed.com. But on, I say, on a very serious note, as you get older, it's like, what's retirement going to be like? What are you going to want to do? You want to travel? What do you want to do?
You want to be healthy.
You want to be healthy is what you want so that you can enjoy life as you age.
You know who should have went?
The D-U-G.
Yeah.
He's got the gout right in the knee.
Knee gout.
Right in the knee.
That sounds like a pain.
See, people think gout's just in the toe.
It's not necessarily in the case.
Right in the knee.
Damn.
Not good, Dean.
I bet you Jack's going to get goat when we're in Nashville.
That's.
That's nice.
You don't want, I've never got gout.
Yeah.
I started getting,
Don't let his negativity come into your
I got.
Don't even think about it, Jack.
When I was very young.
Forget that word.
It was like, oh, you too young.
You can't be go.
What'd you do?
Did you sprain your toe?
Did you kick a cinder block?
Like, no, I didn't do anything.
But I can't walk.
That's what it was.
Kick a cinder block.
Yeah, damn thing.
You know, damn thing.
You're going to show it.
Cannonball.
What are you doing there, bud?
No, I didn't fast.
Matt would advise you to avoid.
Yeah, don't be doing that.
Don't do that.
Don't do that.
And if you're going to.
Steel toes.
Yeah, that's right.
There's a number of things we can talk about.
The Sabres are 0 and 3 to Stark.
Is there any video of the Fire Adams?
I'd like to hear the, we should call Rob Ray.
We should check him with Rob this week.
I'll call Rob Ray.
Yeah.
It's like, what?
You feel bad for who?
The Sabres fans.
Well, I feel bad for the fans because they get effed over.
Whatever you call someone to talk to them, because the
team that they watch or cover is so shit.
Right.
So, oh, we're 0.5.
Yeah, but he's not allowed to say that in Buffalo.
He would be controlled.
He's just a mouthpiece for the organization.
So if he comes on here, he'll give the...
They'll give us the goods.
Yeah.
Is that what he would say?
Oh, yeah.
He dropped a few ass bombs, too, knowing him.
Oh, fuck.
You can say that, too.
Company, man.
Yeah.
Bot and paid for.
Sabres are 0 and 3. Brady Gachuk got injured against the Predators.
Sabers only scored two goals, so that's less than the Flames.
They're the lowest scoring team in the league, flames 30th out of 32.
Neck and neck.
Nice job.
Oh, 29th.
Didn't you have them in the playoffs this year, Ryan?
Was that your?
Shut up.
Yeah.
They just as soon as they fire Lindy, they're back, baby.
Let's go.
They're not firing Lindy.
They got your last year of his deal.
Let's go.
Fire both.
Adams is out.
Rough moves up.
Somebody else comes in.
Dave for Bob Ray.
No, he doesn't want to coach.
He's lazy.
Doesn't seem lazy.
It's hard to get around.
You've got a big boiler.
Just buying those.
Scets and stress.
Rob.
He's lazy with a boiler.
He's already covering the worst team of the league.
And now he's thinking, well, that's why he's eating so much stress eating.
Jesus, grace.
Maybe we do need to get them one.
Dig up, stupid.
Yeah, maybe we got to get him one.
Yeah, Brady Kachuk, injured.
Oh.
So the Kachuk, Br.
others are out of the league.
Hand injury or something going on.
Does this sound serious long term?
Didn't look good.
There's some, I think.
And Audrey, we can check in with noodles,
but there was some real concern.
Consternation.
Jebedation in Ottawa.
Lane Hudson got himself a new deal in Montreal.
And that is a team friendly deal.
I thought so too.
Oh, dude, the cast can be like 130 million a half with you of that thing.
He's going to be making...
Some of these agents nowadays?
He idiots?
What are you doing?
It's Connor's fault?
Everyone's, oh, all.
You want the team to win.
You better take less than you should get.
You know what it is?
I'm going to say this.
That's why hockey's the best.
That's why the greatest players in the world,
all these small town guys from all over North America,
taking less.
Basketball wouldn't do that, would they?
Cheap.
Some are not even cheap.
They're very wealthy.
Greedy.
Greedy.
That's where Dean, thank you.
Who's the guy in New York that took the big hometown deal with the Nix?
He was really friendly.
Shut up, pender.
Hockey guys.
That was your Don Cherry Ramp.
Good people.
Those are good people.
They're not out there sticking it to the team, trying to take advantage of them.
Here to play hockey, entertain you fans.
Yeah, probably the owner should get more.
Winners should get lost.
And baseball.
Is that starting?
Yeah, when does that start?
That would be great to find that out.
Has that?
I think the Blue Jays were their uniforms, but they hadn't started.
No, those were, you know, when the pitcher gets her,
hurt and he before he comes back, look at this is how I throw.
They got to do that.
Simulated games.
Sim games.
They've been doing it.
The sim games have not gone well.
And Seattle mayors look very good.
They're just, they're learning about the other team.
There's a lot to learn in a short amount of time.
They will play game three, four and five.
Get your head out of your ass, Toronto.
Let's go here.
Second round comes around and he starts to piss down your leg.
Stand for it.
It can be rather disheartening.
the team that you're cheering for,
get absolutely shit bubble.
It's not bubble shit can, whatever.
Yeah, 10-3.
By the team that didn't sleep and flew across the country.
They played 15 innings and is definitely at a disadvantage.
This is great for-
Best three starters in a 15-inning game two days prior.
That's not the start you want to hear the Js at all.
At all.
Ouch.
Pack it in.
Don't pack it in yet, but you best be...
There's not even a team I can cheer for now.
I almost have to cheer for Seattle because I can't cheer for the Dodgers.
The Brewers aren't going to win, so they'll be eliminated with that.
You want an uplifting story?
Yes.
The Toronto Blue Jays were down two games to none in the series against the Texas Rangers once,
and everyone had written them off after losing two at home and going on to the road.
Now, this is the best of five, not a best of seven.
They would then hit one of the most famous home runs in the history of the sport in a game five
and move on to the next round.
Try to do that again, please.
That was more fun than this.
that was a best of five or this one is that was the best of five this is the best to seven yeah i feel like a best five
is easier to win three in a row okay to finish them off i don't know why but because you only need three
yeah so but your margin for error is definitely less correct yeah tell us how you real feel right
anyway you are going i feel like the manager's got a really really unsatial appetite for the bullpen
Like I didn't think.
Yeah, there's a lot of moves there that that idiot's doing nowadays that are
given question.
Now that could be again, be over compensating or he's maybe compensating.
And if they'd hit the baseball that night.
I don't care when you go to the bullpen.
If you're only going to get one hit after the first pitch of the game, which is game one,
or get no hit after the second inning of the other game, whatever it was.
Like, yeah, it doesn't really matter who's pitching if you're not going to get hits.
Frustrating watch.
Tough to say you're at your best at this point.
There's certainly room for improvement.
Seattle's going to start turning into their best three starters,
not their fourth and fifth best starters now.
It just activated their All-Star Raphael.
You got Castile.
It's IEL.
Injured list.
And, yeah, their best three starters down the stretch are the guys they'll probably
see in three, four, five.
Alberg a Tweed.
I've never seen a team hornier to go to their bullpen in the playoffs
than the Toronto Blue Jays.
Wild stuff.
Well, it's such a deep bullpen that they're dialed in all the time.
It is or it isn't.
It depends on a game you're watching.
They look pretty good on a bullpen day.
I didn't watch that much ball this year, but they brought in top 10 bullpen, but they're not, yeah.
They're no good.
They're not.
The proof is in the pudding.
They're not a top four bullpen, and that's how many teams are left.
Truth.
My brother was, oh, they're going to put this guy in, and he's going to bounce at six feet in front of the plate.
Ding.
First pitch.
How'd you know that?
Because I don't know.
Hindsight's easy, but there are some who feel like that maybe.
they're a little bit too much.
They're just a slave to the numbers.
It's the pitch counts.
Like here, while it's at 75 or at 80,
I think that's...
They have been that.
I think with Burrios in that wildcard game two years ago,
that was insane.
He was cruising and they pulled him with like three,
two-thirds or something's insane.
Trey's an interesting one because they have very,
very real limitations on how many innings
they want them to pitch this year,
because you want to build a guy out of an NCAA schedule,
will pro build them up to 200.
So I get why against the Yankees in game two
with a 12-0-0 lead, they pulled them
when there was no need to, and you still won that game anyway.
But what it does is it loads up a ton of work on a bullpen
that is good, not great.
Shitty bullpen.
And then you got to use that bullpen the day later,
and then you get a bullpen game to get after that,
and somehow that worked.
But you could be getting more out of your starters,
but that's not why they're losing these games.
It's the fact that they're not hitting.
Hit the ball.
And the other team is playing their balls on.
Yes.
the Mariners.
They beat Scoobel twice last series.
Like they are rolling right now.
That's the best pitcher in the air.
Listen, you Yankee honk.
Don't come in here, ruin our team.
Saying out, adding your old great insight.
Well, the other team's playing really well.
There.
They are.
Come on.
One team's flammell, well, one's not.
Turn that around on tomorrow.
Yeah.
When Ryan's here to cheer you on, he'll go streaking.
I've talked about this last week.
So is everyone just take days whenever they want?
Is it just a, it's an optional thing now?
Apparently.
Yeah, you want to day?
Just making sure.
Just me and you,
we're the only working guys.
Yep.
Walking.
Small town guys, Jack.
Small town guys.
Reliable.
Humble.
That's what they say.
Reliable.
Can't spell we're shit, but it's reliable.
I think it starts with a spell that.
Brett Warner.
He's a worker.
Yeah.
Homework.
So what are your travel plans?
I will fly some more
after the show.
On a private plane?
It is a private plane.
Not a commercial flight.
Right.
We'll have props.
Private plane.
It's all.
It's a thing is even a lot of commercial flights that you'll take.
I feel like this birthday present you got's not too bad, actually.
This is my present to me, which will be paid for for out of my children's education fund or something.
They're not going to need education anyway.
There, see, right?
Education.
Are you taking the boys?
God, no.
Oh.
No.
Don't get the gout.
Is your wife looking after the boys while you're away?
Wife will be leaving for Australia tomorrow for two weeks.
So they will have 30 hours at their grandparents and I will be back.
So you have to stay here with her?
I'm just going to shut up.
It's probably a good idea for all of us.
So will you be sick next week?
Nope, I'll be good.
I was just sick last week.
Where are you going?
Systems running hot.
We're good.
Well, I've got work to do.
Pardon me?
I'm going on a work trip.
Nashville to watch that shitty band again.
Oh, dear.
We can't look, what kind of hosts are we if we're just going to show up in a city?
We need an itinerary and bring a, hey, we're going to a place.
I'm going to go and get the lay of the land and figure out what we need to do.
So you'll be sick.
You'll be sick.
This is called a preschool.
More days off next week, Jack.
We're going to start making a plan.
So here's why the Js are losing to the Mariners.
The Mariners had a better pre-scout.
They had boom in Nashville a week ahead, figuring out what the plan was.
But he's seen this team play.
play before about 18 times because it's the only thing he leaves the house for.
That in rural Manitoba.
I am more excited for one than the other.
No question about it.
Hey, if you don't do things, you don't do things.
Thank you, Dean.
If you don't do things, you don't do things.
And by God, we're going to do things.
Can I get on that plane?
The wait list is shrinking, but still size small.
Are they me?
Now, when you say, like, weight as in W-A-I-T,
or W-E-I-G-H-T.
Are you calling him fat?
No, he's like.
I'm trying to lose weight, Ryan.
Thank you very much.
Yeah, we're, it's, uh,
caught Caldo Zempick the other day.
Did you?
Yeah, noodles.
Yeah, noodles.
The fat drug.
They're calling it, the fat drug.
Why are you going to Seattle?
Ah, because the Js are really good and they're going to.
Some rich ass hat invited you on his private jet,
and you just couldn't say no.
What kind of invite do you think it was?
This is not someone's jet.
Like, were you drooling on the man before?
Like, as soon as, like, were you in person and you drooled in his face?
Like, oh, thank you.
You love the Jays and I love Jays.
We should, we're going.
So I wonder what time does our flight leave?
It's not my idea.
I am very keen to be going.
I love going to Seattle.
I've been there about six years to watch the Jays.
It's unreal.
I just didn't think it would be O2 going in.
Oh, you're so hot.
You don't need to go.
No.
I do need to go.
I'm committed.
To pull out the day before you leave would be a dick move.
I feel like you just said there's a long wait list.
It'd be really easy.
Yeah, it doesn't sound like if Pinder doesn't show up,
we'll be,
I would feel bad if I bailed.
I don't think they'd be upset.
For the people I was bailing on.
Really?
Yes.
How integral are you to,
someone needs to know the,
what kind of riff,
Raff crowd is this that you're,
you gotta go to the right dive bars in Seattle.
I got the itinerary.
It's like, boom, doing the Prescott.
I've already done the Seattle pre-scote.
This is terrible.
Jack, why do we?
Come on, Blue Jays, play better.
Please.
Don't make this a horrible trip.
Please.
It's going to be bad that I'm like, yes, I hope the Jace gets smoked.
It's going to be the trip of a lifetime.
This team's so special.
It's a world series run.
What's the lifetime chance?
Oh, my God.
They get swept.
Kill me.
Jesus.
The flight leave now.
It's the plane ready.
Seventh inning.
Feel the jet.
Let's go.
So you fly tomorrow after the show.
And then so what's the item?
What is the?
I think we're going to see how like 3.30.
or 230 Pacific, whatever it is.
Doesn't matter. He's there.
5.30 first pitch Seattle time.
5 o'clock tomorrow or the day after it will be the next one
and then after that game home.
So I would think there'd be
ballpark dogs.
There will be beers.
There will be a big brunch tomorrow morning.
I'm a retired athlete that doesn't attend.
Go to Nashville.
I don't get on private jets.
I live a humble.
quiet life.
Right.
And I'm surrounded by rich pricks, apparently.
Opulent.
See you next.
That's this still.
I gotta go.
I'm going here.
I got to do this.
Look at all the money I'm making.
That's that podcast money.
You got to put it somewhere.
Yeah. I was burying it.
I just the whole back there turned over.
They got no more room.
I wish my life could be that good, Jack.
That's right.
Last week he said, I seem to fill many voids.
I'm the rich, opulent guy.
that does a bunch of stuff, but yet never leaves my house.
So it's interesting.
Well, you just redid your yard, your garage, you're off to Manitoba, the beef and barley,
beard, beans, barries, and arm wrestling.
Now you're in Nashville for another.
Pickery sticks on your dog.
Yeah.
Arm wrestling in the parking lot.
Leg tattoos.
What I did.
I drove to.
You went to Med Hat?
Yeah.
To support my family.
Yep.
You did.
You're a family.
family guy.
How's the dog?
How's the dog situation going?
Oh.
Yeah,
no news on that file.
I'm considering it.
Considering holding your end of a bargain.
I looked at dog.
I looked at dog websites this morning.
Dog website.com.
I was just there.
Lots of dogs.
You want to check my Google search history?
No.
I'll delete after it's just going to say,
I need you to.
It's the last thing I want to look at.
Oh, you'd like some of it.
Oh, maybe.
We'll see. Outdoor dental. Outdoor. Dental is the website.
Dr. J. book me in. Dr. J. Patel, dentistry with no needles, no drills, no stress.
It's the Soleil Laser.
Excellent solution for people. Maybe you avoid the dentist a little bit because you just, you're uncomfortable with it.
Maybe it's a phobia. It's really bad. And this is right up your alley.
One to two minutes, you're relaxed, you're comfortable, you're pain free.
Plus, the Solaya laser works for your snoring. Two treatments.
treatments, 15 minute treatments,
increase the tension in the soft palate,
reduces snoring, non-surgical, pain-free.
You sleep better, you feel better,
your days are better,
people around you, you're happier,
you're accomplishing so much more.
It's all pain-free,
and could be, you know,
it's because dental, put it on your,
those benefits that you get.
Dental plan. That's right.
Outdoor.dental, again, is the website.
Go and check them out,
book yourself in.
learn more about the snoring.
Ask people around you.
Do I snore?
And if they kind of make like a
if they make one of those noises,
go to outdoor dot dental
and book yourself in for a console.
Lickety split.
Yeah.
Get in on that.
We should call Stu.
It's Stu's 70th birthday.
If anyone knows Stu Warren are out there.
Give him a call today.
Big family.
He's how old?
7-0.
Looks 80.
I was kidding.
hard 80 years of living and 70 years of peg gallon that's what you want you want to jam it all in there yeah
that's what you guys are doing yeah getting some heat first right yeah yeah taking a bit of heat uh boy the
the uh the picks are bad so we'll do the pin on first geez yeah do you know went uh you've got to play
catch up and pick six games this yeah i was uh i really needed to dig in you love that slate loved it
sometimes just pops off the screen right at you.
It's a little tight right now.
So we're going to go to Ryan with the Pinder report.
We do that for Village Chonda,
our good friends in the Northwest Auto Mall,
dealership for life,
village honda.com.
Hey, you got a blast a winter this weekend.
We saw it.
A little, what do you call it, Skift, Dean, skiff of snow.
Is it a skiff?
Skiff or skift.
I don't know.
Skiff.
Whatever it is,
it is a reminder that we still live in Calgary,
and we do have incredibly erratic winters.
Get yourself a reliable vehicle.
Do that with our friends at Village Honda.
Ryan Pindon.
All right, let's head the old Flames Nation website
and see what the writers are writing about.
Okay, well, this is some positive news, potentially.
Ryan Pike, the flames are, quote, hopeful, end quote.
Jonathan Hubert out could play on the upcoming road trip.
The road trip, of course, does start tomorrow night in Utah
and we'll pass through Vegas before they return to Calgary in the wee hours next Sunday.
Pike is a cool last name, but I think Ryan Wrench is better.
Yeah, we could work on a name change there.
What's that?
Like 50 bucks of paperwork?
Go to the registry.
It's not just AI that's done.
Ryan Wrench with the latest.
Three games without Pospisal and Huberto.
And Huberto against what we would have,
our best guests would have been two weeks ago,
will appearing to be ahead on his path to return of Pospisle of this.
He got clunked?
He got clunked.
He got a mask to the forehead.
Right on the facebone.
That's what I couldn't understand what you're getting at.
Are you talking about his actual head or you're ahead of the schedule?
Yeah.
The head schedule.
Either way, we'll stay tuned for that.
He is not a perfect player nor likely a $10 million player beyond what his contract tells you,
but he does help with offense and he would help a power play.
Will there need to be a corresponding move made?
Yeah, he would probably have.
Hansick, get the hell out of here.
There's that one.
Or if you really like Zaria's fourth C, you could potentially say goodbye to Justin Kirkland,
but I think you probably don't want to do that.
You need centers.
And I, he was not a center.
Hasn't been a ton, but I, I won't.
I'm not ready for Gridden to leave just yet.
No, I'd agree that too.
I'd like him to stay and play a little bit more.
He's there, again, for a team that doesn't score a lot, he's creating chances.
Yeah.
He almost had that, what was the setup to Perrek?
Or was it?
No, it was Anderson.
I think he went up and he said, did you want me to put it into Rasmus?
I can't finish that for you.
I had a buddy text me as soon as that was mostly.
So this is the guy that coach puts in the shootout, huh?
I'm like, oh boy, that's a tough look for that one.
Who's trading for this guy?
Oh, yeah, shootout, hey?
Can't even tuck it in on an empty net.
Rasmus said he, yeah, just thought he had that one.
It was a yawning cage.
Twice.
He kind of shot it rather than just on your back hand.
Just tap it in.
Tap it.
It is game day.
We know that.
It is Vegas.
Vegas.
the record hasn't been Sterling, but they're doing a lot of things well.
They're only, they're allowing less than 24 shots a game.
That's top five in the NHL.
Their power plays, how many at 31%?
That's top five in the NHL.
The only blemish, the penalty kill where they've allowed goals on over a third of,
the power plays awarded to their opponents.
There's in Perak, he potentially has a new pair going with Joel Hanley.
Now, Hanley would sort of fit that archetype of if you play offense, I'll hold the fort.
This is what we saw in practice yesterday.
We'll see what things look like at morning skate today in the coming minutes
if it isn't already out there.
And I think it already is.
There's your schedule.
It's not easy.
Vegas looks very good.
Utah, we're not sure.
Winnipeg.
Well, they won the West last year.
That's good.
Montreal, a team on the rise that looks quite good.
And the Rangers will see everything that could did go wrong last year.
And then a trip through Ontario to play the Leafs and the Senators,
both those teams were playoff teams last year.
Okay starts, you know, the Kachuk injury for Ottawa, the Leafs,
kind of playing some fire wagon unstructured hockey at this point.
A lot of goals back and forth both.
The ball chief won't like that.
You'll have them settled in by the 28th is my guess.
I don't think you want to play fire wagon hockey with them either.
No, probably not.
And as noted, starting on the 18th, when they host Vegas at home or on their,
excuse me, they go to Vegas on Saturday night.
It's just a game every other day until the end of the month.
on day off day it's a good rhythm you got the rhythm you got the rhyme i got the blues okay
flames had the blues on here's the top half of the western conference
uh two teams undefeated surprisingly seattle one of them
Nashville has not lost in regulation abs have looked very good natius mckenon mccar that is a
track me team right now can i yeah fire right can i throw something out there yeah please
Because like a year ago, you guys were all horned up over this Nashville team, like Stanley Cup contender.
I don't think that's accurate.
That's exactly what it was.
We can go back on the tapes.
I don't think it was Stanley Cup.
Are we, uh, because no.
The flames didn't make it last year.
Yeah.
And they were like at the bottom of the pile.
Yeah, yeah.
Are they going to be better and like be in the mix now?
Is that one more chance to contend with?
One of the Nashville games, they got absolutely.
Sheld and Saros was sensational, but, um, and they're two, oh and one.
That's what they are at this point.
I also, uh, don't have a lot of stock in Seattle's as a contender.
I have less stock in Seattle.
I have more stock in Nashville as a prog, I'm a prognosticator.
Are you?
Yeah, we'll get to those picks in a moment.
I heard you were prognosticated.
Here's the bottom half of the, uh, Western conference.
If you, uh, how many teams are there?
16 in each conference.
And down at number 16, the flames tied with the Canucks and the Intus.
Yeah, but some of these teams have only played two.
That's true.
And the numbers, you can make.
San Jose has done it again, too.
They can tell whatever it's into the losses.
They can manipulate it however you want.
I don't know that you can manipulate the wins losses.
I'm pretty sure you are one and two.
Call Gary.
Gary, can we get that one loss turned into a win place?
Could I need a tie break for April 17th?
No, sorry.
Can't do that.
It's all coming around.
There was a highlight from the game on Saturday afternoon
that I think we probably should look at.
Ryan Lombard got in a spirited tilt.
Against double T. Lombo.
Tyler, Tucker, trouble.
Good scrap.
This is right off Adron.
This was, I believe, one or two shifts after Joel Hanley was taken down
on a skateback for an icing that should have been blow dead.
It's the whole reason they put that rule in.
Flames did not like that.
and I believe one of the next couple of faceoffs, here we go.
Tucker.
And Tucker.
Lombard with an early right.
Lombard, not wasting any time.
Some left jabs.
Lomburg and uppercut.
Tucker, Tucker, responds.
Buck it off.
He wants no part of this.
Keep belt.
What's the forearm shiver coming up here.
Bang.
Oh.
Throwing some body blows.
Oh, big left from Lomberg.
and those two go down.
He then got high-fies from every teammate from the penalty box.
And at stoppages, they'd put the camera on Lombo and the place went nuts.
Ryan Lohberg is exactly what you think he is.
And he plays that role perfectly.
Adoboy Lombo, good teammate.
Guys love him.
Everybody loves them.
He's very fit.
The staged fights.
Stage fights.
Right off a draw.
That's right off of the draw.
Frigand Lomberg.
Yeah, get two more of those.
Boys love them.
Craig.
Order two more.
Two more lumbos?
Yeah.
Triple lumbo.
I like Kirkland, but I don't need him.
Who else is on that line?
Klopka.
Sorry.
Huh?
Was it sorry?
Sorry, we're center on the fourth line on Saturday with
Pluck up your top three and then just have some piss and vinegar on that third or fourth.
Speaking of good teammates, I want you to see this.
Thanks, Ryan.
seen a goal from last night.
There's only one game in the NHL
last night.
Rastard watched the Sanheim. Great shot.
Let's just make sure that, okay.
Oh, Christian Deborak.
Well, Radick did that to me.
Radick did that as he because that was old.
I was going to miss the net.
You had to.
You always practice.
Watch the overhead.
It's a get you stick on it.
You know, Christian's been working after practice on his tipping.
He's probably like, staying out late.
Why did I touch them?
He does.
He probably was gone.
Absolutely roasted.
After the gate.
Sharagovic had one of those last year, too, right?
It was going in and he kind of touched it right before it goes in.
That's how he got to.
It's like, oh, there you go.
Oh, I'm pretty sure that.
That puck's probably going to miss the net.
So great move there by Devorak to get the goal.
We told you Elaine Hudson got a deal done with Montreal.
It is a max term eight year extension, 8.85.
that is less than a full darnel nurse
for what will be the bulk of this young player's prime.
Holy moh.
So smooth.
It's just great to make it look easy.
One year left on his deal,
this will kick in for next season.
He was electric last year.
What, 60 points as a rookie defenseman,
wins the calder.
Probably the only reason Dustin Wolfe didn't win a call.
Oh, he's the best.
He's the best player I've ever seen.
A lot of pressure.
A lot of pressure.
A lot of pressure.
Tonight's slight, busier one.
We had the wonky 14 games, one game.
16 games, zero games.
Now, okay, normal size slate.
Good.
Flames in Vegas right in the middle on SportsNet.
ESPN doubleheaders got the lightning.
Are these Easter times?
These are all these three times.
Okay.
Because probably we could just find something that has.
Well, just AIO's Jack.
If it knows what year it is.
Minnesota, Dallas, another good one there,
wild off to a good start.
Don't tune in at 9 if you want to watch the Flames.
Correct.
I mean, maybe you'll catch the second half of the third period.
No.
Jack drew this, my attention to this the other day.
Apparently, Rick Tocke, in his early days as the Flyers head coach,
hasn't been wowed by necessarily everyone.
That is actually Matt Meishkov.
That is not Matt Rose or Bonaltz, love job.
Could have both there, isn't it?
Yeah.
If he grows a very poor mustache,
he's in the next.
He's going to Shabala or whatever the hell it is.
Shambala.
Why is showing this picture?
That's Madh Vey Mishkov looking quite a bit heavier than I ever thought he could be.
What's his body fat percentage, Ryan?
Don't know.
I know his best bed,
they'll get them all sorted up.
So you're fat shaming Matt Bay Mishka?
Is that what you're up to?
His hair gel per 60 is through the roof.
What did this have to do with Tucket?
Well, let's go look at the actual tweets.
Tockeet is short in his bench.
Michikov has been on it for the last 10 plus minutes,
wrought.
And then someone jumps and says, yeah, anyone not seeing the game.
Well, Zik knows what he's talking about.
Not playing well.
It's not me as a bus.
He'll be fine.
Understand benching.
Correct.
So some early drama in the talk at Mishkov relationship.
Let's pull up his body fat percentage.
Is that on the website?
Can you pull that up?
Yeah, Chuck.
Get actual edge data.
His caliber test results from training camp.
It does look like well,
mouth and Matt Rose.
He looks like Matt Rose.
Just leave him alone.
He did.
Matt Rose knew at chubby cheeks.
He could just walk in the Zamboni entrance in Philly.
I like say, Jitnik had, uh, hello, no English, no, English.
No, I look forward to game today.
Yeah, I grew a mustache.
Go get him, Matt Bay.
It's got some Ryan House vibes to me.
We'll move on quickly, though, shall we?
Let's go to the Jays.
Oh, dear.
Uh, so you're telling me in the league championship series,
teams that fall down 02 almost never win.
Five times, Ryan.
85, twice. God, loved 85. What a great year.
I guess it's not 50.
It's just, there's one five. Red Sox.
Rhett was at that series in 2004 where he cheered for both teams.
I think he went.
It came up over the Thanksgiving dinner about how me and my brother.
Sox Yanks wore Yankees jerseys in Yankee Stadium and then
Red Sox. Made the switch.
Yeah. So when you're in Boston, you wore.
Ah, safety first, Ryan.
That's what I always say.
Yeah.
You don't want to clash, right?
Gosh, Walker would have a problem with that with his fan rulebook.
My goodness.
I think so.
Yeah, I think a lot of people would, to be fair.
Dodgers most recently did it in 2020 and the Diamondbacks in 23 to lose 02 at the start and then come back and went.
Nobody's done it when losing the first two at home.
Oh.
You want to sit on this?
No one.
No team.
Why are you going to Seattle then?
Because I didn't think they'd be down on two.
Okay, we'll keep moving.
Tonight, we've got actually crazy double play.
Why don't we all go to Seattle?
Oh, you're going to Nashville.
Jack's got to work the show.
Where would you rather go?
Pick one right now.
Nashville. I've never been asking us.
You listen to asking me.
Okay, this is a wild play.
It's going to take a while to sift through it.
This is early stages top four game one in Milwaukee.
Loaded.
Milwaukee, the good land.
Algonquin.
Dodgers about to do some damage, right?
Well, hang on.
And Muncie,
Skies one to center field.
Head well, this one's got a chance.
Freeland going back to the wall.
He leaped.
It's in and out of his golf,
but he caught it.
And now chaos on the bases.
Might have a play at the plate.
The throw.
Not in time.
No, he's out.
He's out.
This is a very smart play to go to third here.
I watch this about 20 times.
Does it make sense yet?
Not yet.
Okay.
If this guy is confused, I don't know what the a half's going on.
So here's the thing.
If it hits your glove and then the wall and then you catch it, that's a hit.
You can't catch it off the wall and call it an out.
And so now all these guys are tagging up thinks it's caught.
There's no tag up.
Just run.
But how do you know?
It's on the wall.
Now it's a hit.
And now everyone's going to tag up.
Except it's not a tag up.
You got to get to the, there's a force out at home.
Out at home.
Guy stays at second.
Dummy.
Contreras is like, yeah, I'm heading to third.
Why didn't he throw it there?
Well, because he's just looking.
He's like, buddy's not even moving off second.
I got it.
Show off.
So almost a catch.
Or almost a home run.
It's the wall.
Almost a grand slam.
Almost a grand slam.
They get out of the jam.
Base is loaded with one out with a double play.
And the outs at home and third with forces.
How?
Oh, yeah.
I just caught it on the wall, off the wall.
And then we got force outs at home and third.
Crazy.
That is crazy.
Dodgers would overcome.
They do win game one.
The only game tonight is game two of the NLCS.
Still in Milly Wauke.
Come on with Miliwake.
I thought you just said you didn't care because they're not going to win.
If they win, then I do care.
Oh, that is, yeah, quite there's a lot there.
It's a very good point.
Pull it together, man.
That's all right.
Enough vacation.
Yamamoto against Peralta, your two starters.
Dodgers bullpen has been dicey, but like training.
First rounder.
Got the funnel out.
Kyle.
Multi sport.
Yeah.
Seattle, Thunderbird.
Tricities, where was he?
There was.
Kyler.
Hams.
Spokane Kid.
He's Spokane.
That's what it was.
London Knights.
All right.
Okay.
Yeah.
Spokane.
Good.
Played for cheese.
Cheese.
Everybody.
Cheese is coming out here, is he?
For what?
I don't know.
Some Canada be a.
Now the Sabres are out here soon too.
I think early December.
Yeah, he might be out here.
We got robbery in the show.
get him a mask
I'll text them
keep going right
NFL last night
we had another double header

jama key is a uh sure here a huge turnover for the commanders on the final drive that put the bears
in a position to win and they did just that a chip shot how did he not catch that like in the bills
game he had the chance at the interception there don't yeah that was a pick six right in your hands
That was the chance.
Indeed.
You know what?
Only two days from Thursday.
I have to go to Buffalo.
Yeah, you got to straighten these guys out.
I got to go talk to Terry.
Well, what the F's going on at the Harbor Center.
Yeah.
And then I might as well throw in some advice for the football squad.
He's here to help.
Yep.
I'm here to help, Terry.
Well, you've got Terry's ear.
I'm sure he'd love some, because I'm guessing he's probably not getting a lot.
Some people give him advice on what to do to turn things around.
He better, whoever he's been getting advice on how to run the sabres, change those people.
That's all I'd say.
Woof.
Woof indeed.
Goosh.
Two days from a Thursday nighter.
And we've got two legends.
Oh, why?
Salt in their beards.
Super Bowl winners.
Me and Latte.
Oh, against Rogers.
Malberg and Warner.
Fresh from in Best Bed.
Yeah, they are.
These guys, uh, they, they're, they are head and shoulders or the, the, the, the, the, yeah, just
Yeah.
Beardye.
Look at Flack.
It was like,
yep.
This has to be the oldest.
What is the beer die company?
I just ship my cell.
Just for men.
Just for men.
Yep.
Jack's first divisional game.
Actually, they play Cleveland this week.
So second and around.
Yeah.
There you go.
Jack loves the Steelers.
Best team in the games.
I told you guys.
Five and no to start the air.
Four and one.
I'm not surprised.
You're not surprised.
Nope.
Shut up, Jack.
Let's go to the stampeters.
Bellas are fired up after their big win on the weekend in Hamilton.
Yeah.
Oh.
Next one's coming up on Saturday.
Jack's going to be a...
They needed a win.
Cootin and hollering at the Coorish Coral,
they're undefeated when Jack's there.
Go get them, Jack.
I mean, assuming I can get you free tickets,
then you'll go.
But also today, deal day,
there you go, section M, go get it.
Ends on plus tickets.
Save some monies.
Buy them today.
They get expensive tomorrow.
Well, not expensive.
Regular price.
They're on sale today.
They lost four in a row,
went into the buy.
You know, the beat up,
they got injuries, went into Hamilton.
Hamilton Tops in the East, and scored first and never trailed and cruised.
And there's Dickie, you're feeling it.
I don't care who's in there.
I'm getting a job done.
Let's go to defense.
Oh, defense wins championship.
Big boys after bowl, love it, stop to run.
Two plays in that last four minutes.
Okay, third down.
J.G. Grant.
You love it.
You know what?
We don't get to see the videos after losses.
I assume they're not as fun as after Wednesdays.
These look unreal.
Look at the fellas.
Very good.
That's Ludovic Chocquet running back.
Chalky.
He had a big.
Luda.
That is Ludo.
Wolverine.
That's who it is, actually.
And then they got, who's the long time equipment guy?
He always hands out the fire department helmet.
Chargie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Love to see it.
Right.
Paradez. Another good day.
We have four field goals in the first time for some crazy.
Yeah. I mean, it's, hey, Dickie off by.
Whoever doubted.
Dave coming off the by.
Come on. You can't give that guy an extra week to prep.
You're in trouble. I chat with Dave.
Before the show, we'll have that coming up here before we end this show.
But, you know, it's Dave, a little different.
You saw him there after the game. He's fired up.
Pumped up. A little more subdued. I asked him about Turkey.
I said, you know, we talk about you're not a burger guy or whatever.
rude but I hope.
Do you eat some weird? Don't disappoint us.
Some weird thing. We'll let you know.
Stakes it for that. Okay. Very good.
Cowberry FC was in action as well.
On the weekend, they played Forge. Stinkin Forge.
One-nothing Forge at this point, I believe.
Let's pick up the action.
Come on, Calgary.
Sergio Camargo would score in the first half waiting for it.
Didn't send it to Jack.
One, your final score.
Did Ryan send it?
It's going to be doing with Wegmanson.
One one.
Need it.
They always play tight games.
Did you not send it?
One one.
Big lead up, but it's still waiting.
I could have made of old popcorn.
Somebody forgot it.
One one.
Yes.
One one.
One one.
Stoppage times.
Roll it.
And with the penalty.
Rotis socks.
And roll.
Oklahoma State.
Tell us about it.
Ryan.
1-1. Cabs, your final.
That's all right. That's all right.
It's not a loss. On a third place finish in the standings.
Top 5 make playoffs. Go get them. Can we pause? How does this
happen? Where, no, we need to figure this out because this happens all the time.
Sounds like an off-air show. Let's do it. No, it's on show.
Jack Walt's answers. It's not going to put up with your BS. You're thinking about
going to Seattle. Jack, get it off your chest.
Let them have it, Jack.
What are you looking at where you see this and it's numbered?
One-one.
It said it was one-one-final.
Did you send it?
Where does he see the send?
Prove it.
I might not have said it.
Look, I'm just trying to move along.
Draw attention to this.
What are we doing?
1-1.
You know what he wouldn't forget to send?
A passport for the point.
Well, he doesn't like to talk about things because then it's it's.
No, I didn't send it.
That's not me.
My bad.
Because they get spoiled.
1-1, Jack.
1-1.
1-1 is your final.
1-1-1.
So, Jack, what would you think?
Like, before it's done, just kind of do a, so we got,
Flames, stamps, baseball, did it, did it?
just kind of have a verbal confirmation.
My mistake, I screwed up.
And he numbers it.
I made a mistake.
I'm sorry.
No, we're trying to help you.
I apologize.
We've got to work through these stories.
See, some shows would do this off the air.
We want to be.
It's like you just saw Dave Dickinson.
Yeah.
Right in the room, right?
That's what doesn't make anyone bad.
It's a work.
It's about correcting things and being better next time.
Trying to move forward.
One one.
Ryan cleaned it up.
Thank you.
I will clean up.
Well,
Jack,
it's not really.
Canada's national soccer team
but Columbia today
international friendly.
No graphic.
That's okay.
I'm just talking.
Let's take a look.
Canada.
Colombia.
No,
no, no.
No, no.
Big match.
Columbia.
Pated rivals.
Let's go to.
Neighboring nations.
Oklahoma.
Take it to the pitch.
Now,
here's the thing about
fandom.
It's kind of irrational.
It's people you don't know.
You come together as one.
Now look at this good looking fellow with,
well,
that's a bit of a beer gut,
but we're at Oklahoma State.
Just the start of a beer cut.
He's just,
he's starting to establish.
He's grooming one.
He's just getting started.
He's an early adapter here.
Who's called?
Who's calling?
You guys take,
go,
is that beef?
I might have,
I kind of got it.
That beef.
All right.
So let's go to the T-shirt helicopter going.
All right.
Not a load anymore.
Right?
Almost got a whole run.
night.
Shit, we're doing T-Shodd helicopter because I'm going over there.
Next thing you know, Jombotron, you got two full sections.
See, this is us in Nashville.
Well, this is drunk kids.
Yeah, that's us in Nashville.
You remember what happened to us.
We were acting like 17-year-olds.
Now, was that just people coming into the stadium then?
Because that didn't feel like...
It didn't feel like a movement we could start in Nashville?
Well, Oklahoma State is a popular football.
And it was not a sold-out stadium.
Oh, it's very early.
It's pre-game.
They're getting everyone fired up.
I mean, started movement.
Now, we love more than anything, paid leave.
Oh, God, yeah.
And we want to celebrate those who have perfected the craft of getting paid not to work.
Salute them.
We salute you.
This is our salute to you.
Champions.
This gentleman here is James Franklin.
He's going to make 20.
grand a day.
$15
a minute,
$900 a hour.
This is all he's sleeping too.
He's making two thirds of a million a month.
And why is he making
all this money?
Well, because he's not coaching Penn State
anymore. James Franklin.
Get her done. Some paid leave.
And how about it?
That's Germain's brother.
20 grand a day.
20 grand a day
for the next six years.
Sir?
Oh, wait, though.
Look at the per month.
That's bad luck, isn't it?
Yeah, maybe just get them to round up.
I'm jinxie.
I'll take it.
It's all chiv and whirl.
I'll deal with that jimps if I have to.
Jeez.
Good for him.
That's some great work if you can get it.
20 grand a day for six years.
That's like podcast money.
That's crazy.
It's to coach college.
Where is that money?
How do you get that in the first place?
You're the students that are paying the goals.
there. No, it's like billion dollar rights deals for the big 10 or whatever.
You know how much it costs go to school these days?
Well, Husk, he's looking at this. Like, how the hell?
I might not coach a football.
You would have a much better schedule and paycheck if you coached at some of the big schools.
Paid leave.
Paid leave.
Paid.
So we have an option that can be it for the PID report or you can watch Jack's
busted algorithm full of SORA AI.
We have one clip that I thought.
thought was particularly funny, but it is dumb AI, Rhett.
It's up to you.
Let's go for it.
All right, Jake Paul.
Let's see it.
Now remember, round five, when I hit you with the uppercut, you dive on the ground.
Will I be home in time for Sam Lee Field?
That is my entire algorithm.
That's all Jack gets.
I can't fix it.
It's just, it's Boston.
All he gets is AI video.
They have these little Sora things that come on the screen.
Yeah, that's so you know it's AI.
It's important you have those because the Sora AI stuff.
It's too good.
I don't like it.
It's scary.
All I'm getting right now is Stephen Hawking in a wheelchair.
Freestyle Rabbit at the Olympics doing the long jump,
jumping off of a steel cage onto a table in wrestling.
He's doing the high dive.
You live in a simulation, Dean.
Goodness gracious.
Jack, I'll be better.
I'm sorry.
That's your pinned a report for this Tuesday, October 14th for our good friends at Village
Honda.
Hey, I don't want to be that guy, but kind of tires you got on right now.
Oh, yeah.
It's crossed my mind.
You might want to get your maintenance done before the winter, get a little check-in,
or just say, look, this box of junk ain't last in the winter.
I better get the Village Honda and get a reliable vehicle that can handle our climate here in Calgary.
Pre-owned as well over 90 units on site and access to over 500 in their dealer group.
Don't mess around.
Winter is coming.
Villageana.com.
Don't mess around.
Don't mess around.
Don't mess around.
Don't mess around.
It's not worth it.
Do our picks.
Oh, dear.
Yeah, we're stalling there for a reason.
We will, hey?
Oh, Jack, just don't prolong the pain.
Just do the blip, Jack.
Bet 365.
This is the thing.
I feel like for Bet, it probably, it begs mentioning.
We make this look a lot harder than it's that it actually is.
It should be a coin toss and yet no one's near 500.
That's the whole thing about a point spread.
Yeah, it's you pick one side.
That's right.
There are winners and losers in every game,
but only one loser.
What like, it's not like,
the whole idea of the spread is that would make it even.
Like it's 50-50.
Yeah.
Either side, that's the concept.
We're making it look really hard.
Game props, player props,
totals, the money line, whatever your bed is.
It's never ordinary.
Bet 365.
You see in that two shot that we got there.
It's just right over the shoulder, right there.
Bet 365.
I'm sorry, bet 365.
I mean, on one hand, you're welcome.
But on the other hand,
if people are watching this and thinking,
well, if those guys can't do it,
how am I going to do it?
I don't think they feel that way.
I hope that's not the message that you take away from this.
I think those, oh, geez, look at all that.
Oh, look at Jack.
First place.
A game away from 500.
Look at Jack.
Go on the up trend.
Boom.
What?
What is going on?
Six.
Six.
I thought the Browns would keep it close.
Me too.
Come on, guys.
But they got blown out.
The Broncos should have covered seven.
Yeah.
They really, right?
Like, there was no way.
It was the right call.
That's what Walker used to do.
I know, the sharp money's here.
That was just, yeah, it was right call.
The Eagles lost last week.
the lions.
You really needed that
Thursday night or two, didn't you?
Oh, I just had it.
Make it a sixth.
Yeah.
And you said,
Jack, look at your chalky picks,
all those favorites.
I was feeling so good
about the Colts as well
because the line moved
when Brissette was announced.
Yeah.
Decent game.
God damn.
You got one for us.
They don't like the swearing.
They're good people.
Gish, darn it.
And again,
if you were savvy enough
to go against our,
picks your collective record.
There might be a trend there that you could pick up on and say,
you know,
well,
and we did mention it after week one.
We said,
look,
these are our idiot picks.
You can vote against us with picking the other side.
Really,
I'm only two and one.
Is that right?
How does that work?
I have to take the bills because I'm a true fan.
Oh,
I see.
And our group pick was the bills.
Oh,
and we are one and two on our group.
So Dean,
what punishment are we wheezzling out of this week?
We never really discussed.
Yeah,
funny, huh?
well you don't you're not full of confidence
I thought we're the Rams
no we've I like the Rams
great
to pick the bills four and a half
oh that's a good of four and a half
someone's going to watch the tape I swear we picked Rams
nope
I'm I mean I'm willing to go and check the tape
I check the tape all right
you love the Rams so much you picked them
in your own picks both of us
I'm going to have to pick every game this week.
So the more pick strategy, that's we're going to keep that going.
I need something.
Okay.
Or one.
No, I got to get.
He's got to dig up quicker.
I got to dig up quicker.
And if that doesn't work, then I got to do something else.
It's almost the opposite to George territory.
I got to be honest.
That's getting close.
I'm going to do all the games.
I will do all the games this week.
And if.
If that is a unmitigated disaster like this.
You'll be drunk in Nashville, so it might have.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You would pick it sober.
We've never been this bad, guys.
I was great last year.
Well, you're no good now.
We've never been that far under 500.
I didn't realize that Carolina was going to win a football game.
My girl.
What is going on with Carol?
Branko Doudal.
Like Atlanta.
How do you lose 30-0 to Carolina and then beat the bills?
That's like within three weeks.
Thank you.
What on this league?
Dag damn it.
I thought the bucks were,
yeah,
bucks.
Oh,
I screwed it up on Rets.
Oh,
you did too.
Yeah.
All right,
rat,
sorry.
Rett,
you're 10,
12 and two.
You're right there.
You're right there.
I feel good about myself now.
Good on you,
see,
because I told you I was too.
What, Jack.
Way to pay attention.
I thought you had the cheats.
You know what?
We put so much faith in you.
I might be 15,
six and one.
I'm just going with what you're putting up here.
Oh,
much 15,
six and six and one.
I better go check this.
Did the Broncos?
We need an audit.
Jack can't even spell.
Can't add.
Let's go.
What is why are we doing with this guy?
We got to move on.
Okay.
So that's,
that's what we got there.
That's the,
uh,
30,
six,
five.
There's no games tonight.
We got a third.
I wish there was because I,
I'd,
I'd go out.
You'd be playing catch up,
wouldn't you?
Yeah.
Definitely would have had the bears and the falcons if you picked yesterday.
Yeah.
Bill's,
eh?
It's good.
They're on by now?
It's good for them to get on a buy.
It's good for them to have to get punched in the face because they were getting fat and sassy.
Two losses going into the buy.
Get right.
It's like Dave Dickinson coming off a buy.
Are they going to need to fire the coach?
Has that started up?
Oh, dear.
They're going to need to do something about their defense.
Can't stop the run.
Work on that.
They don't stop much.
Back-to-back weekends where the quarterback's under pressure and he just dumps it
out and the guy wide open.
Well, fellas.
Hearing loss clinic, hearing loss.
Dot CA, locally owned and operated and here to help.
I love whatever I started read, Red just grabbed.
I was going to check if Rob Bray replied because I text him.
Maybe you check Rob Ray's ears when he comes to town.
That's exactly.
That's Kevin Ballzier, by the way.
He was back and planned.
We could take him for the home.
Life in Sabreland.
Get his hearing figured out.
Get him over with Dr. J.
Oh, he's getting his ear.
Investment.
How did Rob Ricketts?
I mean, he's fighting all the time.
Did he lose teeth?
Was he in a,
to get all his,
Not really.
I don't think he has a cement head, right?
That cinder block type thing.
That was right.
Don't kick it.
Don't punch it.
Yeah.
There's a lot of damage that was done to that thing,
even though it took some torture.
Amazing.
Maybe the best guys are taking punches.
Yeah.
Just couldn't phase him.
That has nothing to do with hearing loss clinic,
by the way.
Just happened to be the way.
way it came in there. Hearingloss.com is the website, Travis and Sabrina Rhodes.

The people are great.
The folks that they have working there are the kind, gentle folk,
very caring, make you feel good.
Probably go after our football picks.
It would be a good time to join.
Yeah, don't bring that up when you're in there.
Did you really think minus seven?
That's a lot of points to lay, I know.
Seven and a half one?
Custom ear protection, musician molds, custom in-ear monitors.

Again, that website.
we kind of get Jack
Yeah, we do
Because clearly he's not hearing our picks
He's clearly
Can't do math, can't spell, not listening
Thank you hearing loss
Yeah, and you know, truly it's on us
The fact that we're just
trusting him to go and do the math
At the end of all the case
Hey Jack, what did we have there?
What is that?
Oh man, that's Jack is in first too
That's a little suspicious, isn't it?
Just kidding, Jack, we love you.
Kind of.
I can't believe he's not taking you
on the private jet to Seattle, Jack.
because you guys are tight.
I didn't get the invite to that.
Friendship out of convenience.
I do like that Ryan,
I'd really be letting a lot of people down if I pulled out now.
I'm not pulling out.
I got to see this team in the playoffs.
I've never seen a pleasure.
Why don't you say I'm not pulling out because I can't because I would be
I'd be letting a lot of people down if I didn't show up, including myself.
Still believe.
Still believe.
First team ever.
You're going to do it.
Maybe.
I can touch this game.
Please, please, please, please.
Are you going to both games or just?
There's three in a row there.
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
I will be at Wednesday and Thursday games.
Okay.
Why is stay?
Does it come back to the show with you on Friday?
Oh, Mr. Commitment.
That's right.
I won't let you down.
Slash is so devoted to keeping other people.
Yep.
I'm happy.
That'll be fun too, hey?
Let's play this scenario out a little bit.
on these parts of this game.
So we're going to leave tomorrow.
Right after the show.
The show and we're going to get to Seattle.
Get right into it.
Right into it.
It's a private jet.
That's right.
And you know what he's like at an airport.
Yes.
So it's,
you're touching down shit-faced.
So that's.
Are we in America?
Awesome.
Yeah.
Right.
So then the game.
And whether they win or lose is irrelevant because if you win,
you're going to celebrate.
If you lose, you're distraught.
What?
Win or lose.
on the boost. That's right. And so
do that on back to back days and then fly back after
the game and get in Thursday night game, then fly
home, get in at midnight.
Best case. Yeah, best case. That's if you don't go wandering.
And then you're in Ozzy. You'd like the walkabout
because you'll be getting off the plane hammered back in your home country.
That is true. If you have to stop by the ship and just see what.
what's going on.
I wouldn't want to let the crowd down if I didn't show up after the day.
If this series is out of two,
I'm not going to let down any establishment open when we land on Thursday.
I will not let you down.
I think he described,
so Friday will be great.
He'll be back Friday.
He'll be a bag of dicks.
Richards, yeah.
But he'll be back was what he,
I think.
Looking forward to it.
Yeah, it'll be great.
Can't wait.
Well, I hope it works out for you.
Because I only want good things for you.
Do you?
I'd hate it if you went there and,
watch them lose back-to-back games and get swept.
Would you do?
Sure would.
Well, I don't let you down.
Especially after last round.
I hate for...
Hey, I still have belief.
So what?
It doesn't mean anything?
It's tough watching your team get absolutely humbled.
It is.
It's hard, especially when they're like on a heater coming in.
The Yankees were playing like lights out for three weeks.
Jay's at a great DS.
Come on, fellas!
And how many times does a team come back after going 02 at home?
Zero.
Oh.
Would it be special to be the only team that the games with the.
Yep.
So I mean, you'll be going to Toronto as well?
No, this is, I'm tapped after this.
Oh, don't say that.
You don't know.
I guarantee.
Yeah, yeah.
If there's a World Series game, can't do it.
You're a loser.
What do you mean?
You can't.
Can't do it.
It's a World Series.
World Series.
I know.
I'm telling you.
I will not be getting on.
a flight for a World Series game. I can promise you that.
A lot of gift that would be.
Yeah.
So if you know someone in your life, that's a big J-s fan,
be no greater gift.
None greater.
Let's move on, Dean, back to you.
We're pretty much done.
So is Rhett hosting on Thursday?
We can only pray.
If you write down the liners, I can read them. We'll have a hell of a show.
I'll break some friends.
In a 12 minutes, new show.
We'll bring some friends.
We'll do a deep dive.
I'll get Connie on.
Brett and Connie Thursday.
Bucket.
Don't let us down.
I think Connie might be in Utah.
Yeah.
The same time zone.
Same time zone.
Yeah.
It's easy.
Yeah.
Because like that's the other thing,
Ajax, like when I go away,
I'd take my stuff.
I did it from a field on Friday.
Not Seattle.
No.
winner. I'll check in on Thursday.
No, I don't want
Jack to me, like, you
don't want any part of
the hangover guy that still have
drunk making is funny and it's
I think they lost
King Crabb, like, oh God,
there's a good. So like that 10 to
noon window on Thursday, what
do you anticipate that looking
like for you? Brunch.
Vitamin G. Get some grease in you.
Right. Reload. They've got great seafood.
I would go with the crab cakes Benedict.
Oh, that's a great call.
Good coffee out there.
Did you say, you said, I've never been to Seattle?
What?
I've been for like when we played junior, but that's it.
Our number out of those, you know.
Oh, too many hippies.
I'm a farmer.
Are you?
I thought you were a mountaineer.
It's very versatile.
Working man.
It's a great city.
Yeah, what I am is committed to the success of our, uh,
little endeavor. That's what I'm...
Me too. That's what he said when he moved to Buffalo
two weeks before we started. This endeavor had
not even begun. It was not off the ground.
I'll be back in two years, guys.
Showed up every day. Didn't that? Hold on the fort.
Every day I was on.
Hanging out on the floor with the ranch dressing.
Mayonaze.
Mays. That's so much. Good Lord.
Do you ever figure out why it was in there?
No.
Yeah. Don't want to size a make. It's mayonnaise.
It's delicious.
Can't have that anymore.
I got the investment guy's breeding down in there.
Is that right?
You don't want to let them down.
See?
Is that on the list?
You got all the guilt.
He doesn't let them down.
You can't be straight lining into your veins.
Yeah, this room temperature mayo.
Right.
This expired in 2016.
It's not great for you.
Not great, Bob.
I think we can do it.
We got today.
Oh, we can do a little super chat.
Super chat's coming in for the U-S.
Cours of Calor.
I can see if he brings it up here.
You centers of calendar.
That's all I got to say.
Do you say?
Oh, working man.
Hey, hey, the working man like me, five bucks was the only one in my pickamp pool who took Atlanta at home.
And why?
Because the bills are frauds.
Oh, dear.
Sorry, Red.
Don't.
Still love you, though.
There you go, pal.
Last time that happened, it was not good business.
Oh, dear.
Still loves you, though.
But then he's laughing at you.
Maybe he doesn't love.
You're not loving me.
You're making fun.
No, they're working, man.
I did go all caps on the frauds.
Yes.
Yelling at.
He's strong feelings.
That sounds like a Patriots fan.
What about that emoji at the end there?
Did he win you back?
Listen, I'm a Bills fan.
Thank you.
It's part of life's quondrums.
Is that a word?
Quondrums.
Conundrums?
Conundrums.
It's the quantum theory of conundrums.
So it's a quondrum.
Yeah.
And it's not easy being a Bills fan.
Orsaber.
for that matter.
Yeah.
It's tough.
Tough town.
Yeah,
tough town.
What's four and two?
We're all about the playoffs now.
Honestly,
would you rather be where the Ravens are at or the bills?
Are you going to win every game?
No,
no.
Seventy-two Dolphusers
celebrating already.
You're winning or you're learning,
Dean?
That's what I always say.
That's what he always says.
Yep.
Flame Shire learning.
Yep.
Yeah.
Keep learning.
That's the guy.
I saw him.
Yes.
Big.
Fat guy.
Congrats to Warner family for Luke's first WHL point.
Yeah.
Careful,
Rhett,
they will pull your Sask card for turning down.
Oh,
again,
that's the best,
but breathing down my neck.
I had to drive home and I'm like,
if I have a beer,
I'm going to,
you know what you need?
It was a temple.
Yeah.
That would have a move.
Temple,
a big fat guy.
He's a big guy.
He's a big guy.
He's a gargantuan human.
Yeah.
That's the quantum level of that.
He's the quantum level.
level of human size.
It's not one of those kind of, hey, look.
His name's tiny, but he's actually a really big.
Well, he can't sit at this table.
He's mad.
Oh, man.
He is huge human.
He loves the show.
Loves the show.
Loves red.
All he wants to do is buy Red of beer.
Spelled the name wrong, but that's okay.
And congrats on for the boy, getting a point there.
Is that statistically accurate?
It is.
That's fantastic.
Congrats to young Lucas.
After 18 end-to-end rushes and said guys up like Randerson, finally,
a guy put it in.
Yep.
Yeah.
Congratulations.
Big fat guy.
Big fat guy.
So there you go.
Those are our super chats today.
Love you,
big fat guy.
Quick little donation there for the US
scared of you,
Big Fat.
Actually,
he's a really nice guy.
He's a big fat and nice guy.
He's a scary.
He's one of those.
We can bring him to Nashville.
He's a John Bender.
Yeah.
I think that's the thing with a lot of the,
you know,
big guys.
They could be real jerks,
but they're not.
They tend to be very little
pricks like you.
Yeah.
You got the little guys with
nothing to back it up.
Just a bunch of shitheads.
We need big fact.
Are I not allowed to give the finger to the camera?
I'm not saying you're allowed and not allowed.
I'm saying that was straight for the working man.
We need big fat guy for security for Jack.
First time in Nashville.
Good Lord.
Oh, I thought we needed to hear.
He's too nice to be security.
I mean, he'll.
No, Benner does a great job.
He just diffuses things before they get going.
Escalating.
Yeah.
Big fat guy, same thing.
Actually, it'd be great if we had Ben.
and Big Fack each side of Jack
just to...
Yeah.
Be like,
who is that?
Is that Morgan Wallen?
Is that somebody famous?
Where's he?
What's his new album?
Is that Matt Rose?
Is that Matt?
He's not even a...
Our buddy Jack almost got...
Uh-oh.
He almost got beat down the other day.
Did you hear?
We had a very serious situation.
Getting intruder.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Jack had to call the police the other day.
Po?
Po, Po,
the 5-0.
He had to call the police the other day.
Fosho.
Because some vagrant
made his way into our,
I don't think he's a vagrant.
I think it's someone who's high as a crate.
No,
definitely.
Look at Jack.
He's not even,
he doesn't want to talk about it.
PTSD.
Some of the more discard.
People in the chatter,
give me hard time.
But what?
The cloud law suggesting it isn't to bring this up.
Is it?
Are they saying the audio's,
what's going on?
What are they saying?
They're saying the audio's messed up.
And it's all,
No, it's fine.
They're doing it.
They can't see?
Pull my leg.
That's AI.
Those are bots.
Yeah, those bots are getting you, Jack.
The bots?
Did you have a problem the other day at the office?
Did you have to call the police?
I did have to call the police.
What was the number?
911.
All right.
Same number.
First time ever I've called 911.
How was that for you?
Oh, there was a guy in here and he didn't want to get out.
And was he hopped up on goofballs?
Yeah.
Why did you kick him down the stairs?
You should just kick them down the stairs.
I was a little,
get his hands in his pocket.
I didn't know what the...
Yeah, that's why he kick him down the stairs.
He'll get his hands out.
The shiv that he's going to shiv you with.
You got that upper ground.
We've shown that in all these stadium fight videos.
You get upper ground.
You're in good shape.
Don't let him get the rusty shank out of his pocket, Jack.
Come on, Jack.
Push him out of his pocket.
Give him a boot to the face.
Braces fall or anything.
He doesn't like conflict.
He's a good guy, Jack.
How'd it go?
Cops love you?
No, he left, and then I called him back and said he was gone.
Big fans of the show?
I didn't talk to the police after that
Well, they're busy
Yeah
So what did he do?
Support the boys are blue
Did he just,
Did he sit in the coach or did he come?
He walked up the stairs and then he,
I was sitting here in my spot.
Yeah.
Came in through the door.
Super drugged up.
Couldn't speak a lick of English and
I tried to tell him to leave nicely.
He had to speak the other,
whatever language.
Yeah,
I don't know.
Do you think he knows that he was speaking?
He was so high he couldn't.
I don't know.
well the drugs are working
you should have just kicked the shit out of them oh geez
you could tell all your other your high
coked up friends that's what they get
don't come in here come around here
you get marching around here because then if the cops do
show up what are they gonna you're
sober as a judge you're a sweet boy
he's bloodied on the floor
guys he had weapons
can't you go to jail for that
He was armed.
WMDs.
I had to protect myself at all costs.
Jack was sitting here, just drinking a temple, clear-headed.
Yeah.
This guy escalated it.
No good.
Well, I'm glad you're safe, Jack.
Glad to hear you got out of it.
Okay, Jack.
Yeah.
Was it my brother?
I hope not.
I see.
He drinks a lot.
Well,
give McLeodlaw on that, Jack.
We did our super chat.
Offended some people.
Probably.
Every day.
Probably.
Don't want to let you down.
You know what?
That'd be the thing, right?
This guy gave the finger.
It's 2025.
Are you sure?
Yeah, that's a guy I guess.
I don't know.
Got some confirmation.
He is the head coach of the Calgary Stampedeters.
He joins us on the Crystal Waters.

Dave Dickinson on the insider hotline.
David, nothing like a win to pick up a man's spirits.
Four game losing streak, a buy week.
come back. And I know it's probably
recency bias, but maybe
your most complete
game victory of the season. It sure felt like it.
Yeah, I thought really, yeah, all three phases
fed off each other and we needed it. You know, we were working
extremely hard and the guys were competing extremely hard. We'd get no
results so, and that can really wear on a team that could wear you out.
And so really happy that we were able to kind of get rewarded for that effort
and beat a great team in Hamilton.
What do you do there? I mean, you've been doing
this a long time between coaching and play and certainly coaching now. And you've got a team and
you're coming down the stretch and you know that you got more in the road than you do at home
and things are starting to snug up a bit in the standings, whatever cushion that you maybe
thought you had is gone. Is it, was it the carrot or the stick? Is that how that goes? A good coach,
bad coach? How do you tend to lean? I think you got to know your team. I think you got to,
you know, if they need a little bit of something positivity, you can go there. I think you got to
make sure they understand the standard has to raise.
I mean, when you're a professional football player,
efforts not enough, any sort of athlete effort's really not enough.
It's got to be results driven.
And the problem is if you just focus on the results,
sometimes you forget about getting better and trying to improve.
And, you know, sometimes you need a bounce or two to go your way
or call to go your way as well.
So I think sometimes it could snowball in either direction.
We're hoping that we gain some momentum and we can take this
and make a run in the playoffs.
Talk about Vernon Adams.
for a sec, because you look at the numbers and it's 16 of 23.
It feels like the games when his numbers don't look all that impressive.
Are the games that you win and you guys manage to not win with ease,
but there's a bit of breathing room for you on the scoreboard.
Not a lot there, but that play near the end of the game,
that second and 12 play with about two and a half left puts it right on Eric Brooks.
That's a hell of a throw and a hell of a play.
And it's still a 10-point game, but it kind of snugged up on you there.
Yeah, so I think we're better if we can be balanced.
It doesn't mean the stat line for the quarterback is as fancy.
But, you know, when you can run the ball and you kind of shorten the game,
keep your defense on the sideline, and then, you know,
the physical part of the game is still the number one thing, win or lose.
And that means your offensive line is moving downhill.
You're running back.
You're going after people.
That's the easiest way to win and call the game.
And then defensively, too, usually that's better, too, because they're not on the field so long.
You know, it was just a good combination of no turnovers, winning the line of scrimmage,
and then making big throws, big plays, cross the board when we needed it most.
Is there a mandate for him to run, not to run?
Do you like it better when he's mobile?
Does he want to run?
What's the ground game strategy and technique when it comes to VA?
He's free to play winning football.
I mean, I did another show, and they were saying the caller, you know, it kind of came in.
And it was like it's management, not wanting to run.
Well, we have designed quarterback drops.
We have movement plays where we force him to get out of the pocket.
And then we have what we call run-pass options where if the end pitches down,
he has the right to pull it and run.
We have it all, really.
And yeah, you're right.
You don't want to necessarily be running your quarterback inside the tackles a ton.
He will, especially when he's not the biggest man, put himself in harm's way.
but, you know, we're trying to win.
And part of that is for the quarterback to use his feet,
which he's been blessed with good, quick feet that makes him elusive.
And certainly that's when he plays his best.
I know the last time we talked.
We talked about Diedrich Mills and just what a difference he makes.
Another 100-yard game, couple touchdowns.
He's right up there in the, you know, tops for the league in terms of rushing yards,
and he'll challenge for it here with a couple weeks left.
Ludovic Chokette made his presence felt a 20-25 pick, 6th round.
I know Detroit with, you know, with Jemir Gibbs and like they've got their,
whatever they call it, they're, their two man running back.
Yeah, that's what it is.
I don't know they call with that, but I know that's what a,
the old school with the giants and.
Yeah, Sonic and Hedgehog or something.
Too old guys.
Eric Henry with like Chris Johnson back with.
That's right.
Yeah, yeah.
Is there.
Tennessee, Tennessee, sorry.
Yeah, maybe not stature-wise necessarily, but is it fair?
And not to take anything away from Choket, because.
He looks like he's a rugged dude, but is there a bit of dynamic running combination there with these two guys?
Well, they do run a little bit different.
I mean, Ludo's more of like a jump cut guy quick, showed good toughness and contact balance.
And both can catch the ball.
I think both are more than fine in pass pro.
But, yeah, Mills is super rugged.
You know, he's usually going to try to put his head down and make you pay and then get forward.
Ludo's a little more elusive.
We went with kind of a ratio change because we're having so many injuries on defense right now.
So we played six Canadians on offense, and that gave Ludo more opportunities.
He took advantage of it.
And you need to be able to block as well, right, for your quarterback.
Both men fairly adept at that?
They're actually both good.
Yeah.
You know, it's not easy.
You want to turn 30, 35-pound linebacker.
He's coming after you with momentum and speed.
Both guys sit in there and do a good job.
You get to bowl Levi four times held the run game.
I think it was 34 yards, 10 carries, a red zone stop there in the third quarter as well.
I think the last time we talked to, it felt like the defense was kind of coming.
There's been some big numbers put on the board.
Certainly the BC game, you get 50, a 50 burger put on you.
It's, you take a look in the mirror.
Where's the defensive side of your game?
It felt like it was, that's a nice statement game against one of the top teams in the league.
Yeah.
I mean, they got their hands on the ball again.
We intercepted the very first play, Adrian Green, who's up to five picks over the year.
That's what he had.
He was stuck on four for probably eight games.
He did break his legs.
He had an excuse there.
But I thought, first off, we got the lead.
And that's really important.
And our team, we feel like we play a lot better with the lead.
Most teams do.
But it kind of gets the other team away from running the ball, which then allows us to kind of, you know,
disguise some things and hopefully make some plays in the back end.
And certainly I think our defense needed that.
You know, the confidence was definitely diminishing a bit.
You know, we were getting after boats and making life miserable line.
It's had some sacks, knocked the ball away a couple times.
And then kind of they got away from running, which makes a team one-dimensional,
which really helps our defense.
But, you know, we got to play complimentary football.
That means get after their quarterback, protect ours.
Special teams is pretty much a wash.
I think we do a little score chart.
You know, we'd like to think we could make a lot.
a few more plays there, but we're covering extremely well,
we're kicking and punting extremely well.
So as overall, the team just kind of fed off each other.
Talk about special teams.
And as we sit here, you would have played with Paul McCollum.
You think about René Paradis and just how reliable as a coach,
you must just love being able to throw that guy out there
and feel like more often than not, you're coming away with points.
We're getting into cold weather.
That becomes so important.
Again, like you say, you get some points early and maybe a drive stalls a little bit.
Well, René's pretty good, pretty good to throw out there, gets you three.
Now it's six.
Now it's nine.
That's nothing like to keep that offense rolling.
He's, I don't know, not underappreciated by the fan base, but man, he's been doing this.
It feels like forever now.
Yeah, I mean, I actually thought I was a little concerned.
You know, we had some great opportunities.
We were down there in the score zone and we kept getting.
in field goals. And I was like, ah, man, we're giving away opportunities here. And, you know,
but he, he was kicking well on that. I put him out there like a 54 yard area. That one didn't
cash in for us. But other than that, he was money. And then I do think he's better in a game,
even than practice. I think he has that confidence and he's clutch. But, you know, we really,
if we're going to win, if we're going to win this, we can't be settling for field goals,
you know, too often. It's just the reality is you got to score touchdowns to beat these.
guys and we were able to kind of change that in the second half.
I always love watching the kickers at training camp when they're kind of doing their own thing.
I remember one of the first, this was many years ago.
One of the first camps that I covered was a Winnipeg Blue Bomber camp.
And it wasn't, it wasn't Trevor Kennard, but Bob Cameron was the punter.
And I forget at the time who the field goal kicker was.
And they literally walked across the street to go get ice cream as everybody else was
banging away at their two days, just sweating and dying.
And it's, well, what are you going to do?
Give the kicker shit for not, like, what do you, what do you do, right?
It's, yeah, it was Westwood?
It might have been Westwood early, yeah.
He said, yeah, I mean, I'm trying to remember back with Bob, who was before Westwood,
but it's one thing about kickers, and it's like long snappers, somewhat punters too,
but the good ones just stick around because they're so reliable.
And as a coach, you don't want to make a change anyway,
because you really don't know what the next guy is going to do.
And, you know, it took injuries and tryouts to get Renee in there.
He's really just obviously been the guy for now 14 years.
And it doesn't really look to me like he's slowing down.
No, because it is crazy.
I know he passed Troy Westwood for fifth all time.
And now it's, you know, Paulos Ballast.
Yeah, those guys played forever.
But if you can take care of your body and if you're accurate,
there's nothing like it's such a marriage.
coach has trust in the player and the player has trust in the coach.
And when you've got that, you can go a long way in for a long time.
Yeah, it does help our league.
I mean, be honest.
One thing about our league that people don't think about is they kick off a tee.
You know, if you look down in the NFL, you know, it's definitely harder to go off the grass.
And, you know, some of the kickers that come up here try to go off the grass so they're prepared to go back to the NFL.
It's a huge advance.
Think of it in like golf.
You're going to put your tree wood on the grass or you're going to hit it off the grass.
ground so or hit it with a T so and to me as the FL I think that helps older kickers because it
helps with the lift and they can still get the length I wonder about you know buy weeks whether
they come early in it talk about buy weeks and all that but you had the four game losing streak
and you made made a trade in there and you try and change some things up you get a week away you
come back you get a big win you got a couple left in in a way okay so you're not going to win
the division, but you've kind of got some destiny in your hands here.
It's a really good opportunity in a way to almost mentally just wash, just scrap,
whatever happened before the buy and just focus on now.
Playoffs are right here and who cares about what the regular season says.
Is it a good kind of a reset at the right time?
Well, it was a good reset because we won a game, but I mean, I think we just won one in a
real.
We have to really kind of finitely or focus like kind of laser sharp on one opponent,
at one opponent only, that's Toronto.
Like, you really can't be thinking about it.
Oh, you got this potential scenario.
If these guys win, you're in, you just take care of your own business.
And Toronto, believe it or not, is playing extremely hard.
I mean, they're out of the playoffs, and yet they gave Sask everything they could handle on the road.
They'll come in here ready to go.
It's our job, though, to get after them early and just keep the gas pedal down.
But if we take care of business, get our own little winning streak, really,
wherever we finish, wherever we go for playoffs, we'll have.
have a chance for sure. So with that in mind, and I know, I don't know why I would even ask
this question because I'm talking to a coach, but Winnipeg and Ebbetson both play on Friday and
depending what the outcomes of their games are when you play on Saturday, is that going to have
any kind of, you know, potential how you approach this game or is it pin your ears back we're playing?
No, so unfortunately, we don't have any healthy people anyway. I looked at my injury board.
I think I've got, I think I've got 25 guys on it. I mean, literally could suit up a whole other
team and most of them aren't coming back.
They're not coming back. So you could complain about injuries and kind of, oh,
whoa, was me type of thing. That's not going to happen. We've got guys that are hungry
and ready to go. You talked about the trade we made. Lozo Lorenzo Malden got hurt in practice.
Hopefully he's back, but we need him. And we need these guys to step up, gel and continue
to move forward. So no, it won't have any impact on how we play this game. That's why it's
just singularly focused on one thing, game versus Toronto, 5 p.m. Saturday.
And I don't know, it sure feels like, and from the outside,
but it feels like the crowds, in a way, are back at McMahon.
And you guys have had a big part to do with that.
The Stampede Bowl was exciting.
You guys win labor.
You guys have had some exciting football at home.
And you've got one more here against Toronto.
It's a big game now.
It means a lot for you guys as far as the playoffs is concerned.
And I suspect it's going to be a good crowd.
But do you feel like some of that zip is back with the stampeder fan at home?
I do. I think we've done some nice things
and organization-wise. I mean, I like how we brought in, you know,
the past, like a player from each Great Cup team. I thought that was
excellent. Stan people definitely brought some flavor
into the city. Yeah, the games have been excited. We haven't necessarily
protected our house as well as I want to, but we definitely
I think have improved and they're showing people. We've got
more talent and the guys that's a really solid team of
effort and you can tell they're playing hard and playing for each.
other. So we do feed off the crowd. I mean, the crowd really, really helps. I mean,
if we can get people loud and getting after the other team when they have the ball,
football, I think, has as big of advantage as any sport if the crowd is, is loud and making it
tough on the other team. So certainly looking forward to that and hoping to weather cooperation,
it seems like it's going to. Let's go get after the Argos. Did you get some,
now we always have fun with you. You're not a big hamburger, cheeseburger guy. Thanksgiving.
Do you do turkey gravate, do you do that or is it some kind of tofurky or something strange?
No, no.
No, meat is good.
Meat is good.
So bless my wife.
She made a whole Thanksgiving meal for her dad and brother, Medicine Hat, took it over to him.
And they did that.
And then she drives back and then makes a whole meal for our family with my brother.
So anyway, it was excellent.
She does it right.
And then she also does another one for U.S. Thanksgiving.
I mean, so hard to stay lean, man.
Yeah, it's, anyway, it's great, though.
And a lot to be thankful for, honestly, really, really.
Both my kids are in college now.
So good to kind of just be around them.
And certainly, I feel, I feel very thankful the life I have
and the opportunity I've been given here in Calgary.
Well said, sir, get a win.
Looking forward to it on the weekend.
Okay. See you later.
Take care.
