Starting point is 00:00:13 Hello, friends. Welcome back to Barn Burner, a presentation of Bet365. Canada hit the biggest home run of the summer. Bet365 is available in Alberta and here to stay. Download the app. Must be 19 years of age or over. Please play responsibly. Here today in the beautiful McLeod Law, LLP Studios, McLeod-Dashlaw.com. Just whatever's going on with your summer. Maybe it's run-of-the-mill, routine stuff. You need some legal assistance. you need a lawyer, they're the people. Maybe some other things are going on. You really need some legal help? Yeah, it's just the same.
Starting point is 00:00:50 MacLeoddashlaw.com. How are we doing, everybody? An interesting one for you today. I didn't know what to call this thing. The best of Barnburner, it seems kind of self-serving and kind of like get over yourself. So you went through your stuff and this is the best stuff. It's some of Barnburner,
Starting point is 00:01:11 but it's not very catchy. I didn't really guess who's going to watch that. Who's going to watch it in the first place? Anyway, what we've got for you today is a little bit of a best stuff, scanning through the hockey season going back, some of the dumb stuff and the weird stuff and the silly stuff and the incorrect stuff that we managed to touch on over the course of the winter.
Starting point is 00:01:37 You sit out, here's the thing. I think, I think Rhett wants to punch Pinder in the face. think Pinder hates Boomer. I think Boomer hates Pinder. I don't think I hate they all hate. Jack's the only one that anybody likes in that. That last part might be true. Anyway, here's the thing. We're all grown men. We're adults. Where do you do it? You're going to get together with three guys, four with, with including Jack. You're going to sit in a room and we're going to force you to talk to each other. You've got to talk to each other about, you know, certain things. You got to talk about Flames power play. You got to talk about this contract.
Starting point is 00:02:15 You got to talk about this trade. Number one, it's not easy. It's a very difficult job. But number two, sometimes you, depending on your mood and what's happened before you got there and what you got going on in your life. You know, sometimes the conversations take a different, take a certain turn. They go down a maybe a bit of a dark road, not because you don't like each other. It's just because what else you got going on with kids and bills and all that sort of thing. At least that's what I tell myself.
Starting point is 00:02:46 There were some definite heated exchanges. Don't miss, don't confuse it. This is not dislike or hate. It's just, you know what it is? It's passion. Okay, but then I love debate. You know that. I do too.
Starting point is 00:03:02 So, okay. Really? Great. This is the same leadership group. It's probably 20 of the same 23 guys. And the results are markedly different. Did he just sign a two year? Did he just sign a two year, put your feet?
Starting point is 00:03:15 up contract retirement extension yeah you're god damn right he did and what happens when guys get that i don't this is going to turn into me bashing backland what the fc done to help this team win in the playoffs he was their best forward against evmonton but that was a tough viewing so five fucking games and we're going to give him a pass far this year been in the playoffs pull up michael backlin's playoff games i mean it's to me it's so idiotic that we have to even have this conversation if you're The leader of a team, your fucking team should make the playoffs. This team's not good enough to make playoff.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Well. So is whoever gets to see if someone else like are they? So was Jerome McGinla's team good enough? Because Jerome McGillah made a difference every game and won us playoff games. Well, I mean, well. For the last four years. It's kind of what, it's kind of whatever you envision. It's an easy.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Only Yokanin was a captain in Florida. Yeah, that was going to work. Like, when, like, So we're not, so you want and need a captain, but we can't have any expectation that that captain is supposed to make us better. I can't have been here since you're playing. I'm just mad at him. So the list of people that he's been accused of bullying before he got to Columbus, Franson, Martyr, Madano, Maddo, Grado, Watson, Hall, T, talk, get out of here.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Here, take, take, do you think, the bulls to Keenan or Cuddle or Quintville ever have a shot? If you don't go. No, no. I think they have a long list too. Get him a tissue. Oh, my God. He's been bullying. Like, stop it.
Starting point is 00:04:50 It just, you know what? There's bullies everywhere. And so the question is, is this bully worth to squeeze? The only cup he's got, he had 10 Hall of Famers? Like, that's a fine question to ask. But to make a list of guys that are pissed off.
Starting point is 00:05:02 It's on top of that. I don't need your context. We all know that back in the day, coaches were hard on their guys. I think there is mistakes that have been made that, that he needs to at home for? Have you ever been hard on someone? Well, then shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:05:17 I'm not applying for a job in the dying moments of Connor's prime and evidence. I'm not. Here's the thing is that your take is making it very hard to not be on the other side. The whole thing is that we can spin the rehab thing. That was the story three years ago and he failed miserably. You don't know the ins and outs of it. You're speaking like you're the judge and the jury or the lawyer that's been informed. So why did he resign before the suits?
Starting point is 00:05:39 No, no, no, you don't get to assume. I'm not assuming. You are assuming. Were you in that? room no i don't know what i'm not i haven't said i know what happens but you're saying let me make myself clear what i am saying is what i get frustrated with is that we don't have the details i know there's trends here yeah i got a pretty good idea of what's going on but we don't have the details but when you read the accusations that the players have said from their own mouths of how we treated them where do you
Starting point is 00:06:08 read the accusation well there's been a bunch of articles written about it and so when i mentioned names yesterday with noodles you guys both immediately got stink face and I'm like if you read the things these out of my house today hey so we're not no no no no so you're going to name a list of names like you're a lawyer that's done research of not Brett even got really close to view of it look at this this is there you behind the back you playing it away from him I can't get it out Crosby leaves the buck for Tarnston onto the goal area for Cosby he Let me, Crosby! Look at all the three guys.
Starting point is 00:06:45 You could throw a tent. The news coming around the back door. If I leave, first of all, stop. Walk the shot, please. You chicken shit. Now it gets by, yeah. Kipper, where are you going? I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:07:02 I've got this side of the net. I'm not sure you are. And if he tries the back door to Lemieux there, look it, I learned my lesson. in 2001 don't leave Mario alone or you'll end up in I like the beginning of the clip
Starting point is 00:07:16 Can we do one more time? Or you'll end up in Amsterdam all by yourself This is a penalty kill Let's see how many flames You could cover with a blanket in the corner here Let's go We're both going behind the net Reg and two
Starting point is 00:07:30 There'll be more We're at two Well who's there stop Now you can throw a blanket over three days Okay but who's in the corner You and your D partner No, no, no, for the other team, you idiots. There are.
Starting point is 00:07:42 I was more, back at Jack, and we start again. I was more focused on what you and your, let's just. That's it there, our boy. Okay, let's see. Sid's in the circle. Go. Now he's behind. So who are the two guys that are in the corner?
Starting point is 00:07:56 Who are the most dangerous players? I'm assuming is that what? Is that Lemieux? Mario and Sid. All right. You may want to take away their time and space. You got a triple team Mario. Here, watch, let it's go.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Let it roll. So you. One, two, three. Hey, Marcus Nielsen. Get the fuck out, you clown. Is that a dirty Dick Tarnstrom point shot? What's Yeller doing? He's supposed to be all gritty and he doesn't stop the pass or block the ship.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Can we start again? I think we're. I like what the stop. The body that you lay into Mario here. I don't know how he recovered. His teeth are still rattling. You could play it. Three, four.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Coming up here. Look at this gliding back to the net I love it You fox have never played against anyone Other than yourselves So tell me how to play I was just like
Starting point is 00:08:54 How much is he gonna take? How much shit is he gonna take Before he fires back If they win two more games The rest of the year Just make him the 23rd and the 27th It's the perfect season Christmas book in
Starting point is 00:09:07 The perfect season You don't even have to win the draft lottery You can lose it twice Oh, hey. Pick the top three. No, no. Come on now. Don't get crazy.
Starting point is 00:09:15 We're hoping for good. Regular season wins or the first overall pick? Take it back. Get it out of the ether. You don't need it out there. Don't me take that back? Take it back. Kind of take that back.
Starting point is 00:09:30 So two regular season wins. You would prefer. I think Peter and 27th. Twice this month is better than winning the draft lottery. Watching Conroy, if he's still here. I feel like having to go sit outside. Like, I know you don't ever like to take stuff back, but I mean, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:09:47 So let me explain. I think one's going to be a really tough decision, and I think you're getting an unbelievable player three that's pretty much as good as one. Now, maybe in the world genius changes things from McKenna, but it's, it's, there's no gap from one to two to three. You are a chicken shit. What the fuck?
Starting point is 00:10:01 It can't be a gym. Geez. Somebody else made the decision. Who's going to go one this year? If they lose on the 23rd, but win the draft lottery, you're going to sit there on the, draft lottery and I's like, yeah, but
Starting point is 00:10:12 no, we're picking. The 23rd, man. We're picking between Maseratis and Lamborgadis at this point. Those are both great-up. Okay, so, yeah. You're right. I'll take it back just because I know that.
Starting point is 00:10:22 You should just take it there. I know you love to argue about everything. No, this is about arguing. This is about arguing. We're making a wish list. That's a good one. You love to argue about everything. No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:10:34 See what I did there? But the biggest issue comes back to not saying correct. What the, are the flames doing? Because if you're taking, and I'll say it because I love it, if you're taking,
Starting point is 00:10:46 you bring the kid back, you play the piss out of them. That's what I'd like to see. That's what you do. Albert Smiths will likely play in the NHL next year. I think Verhoff will be the better defenseman three years out. You have nothing to base it on. But base what on?
Starting point is 00:11:02 What are we talking about? Your opinion. The Smith is going to play next year? You speaking, I think he'll play next year. But down the road, this is going to be the better defense. Have you seen either one of them playing? Yes, but the point is not that I...
Starting point is 00:11:12 Well, okay, so I sat down two nights ago with the guys an agent in Europe and all he did was talk for half an hour about what GMs have said about Albert Smith. You've talked to people. And you're like adopting it as your hard and fast opinion. Well, of course it is. I think this guy's going to be better to best. Who have you read about who's the most NHR-R-red defensemen?
Starting point is 00:11:31 Who do you think? What I'm reading and who I'm talking down? We can make a bat. Who's he was right? No, I wouldn't do it because I'm fucking seen the play. You sound like a fucking smile. I'm not saying I've seen them play and that I'm a scout. You just told me who's going to be the better defense.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Here's a quote. Eric Francis getting this from the defense men hanging to the final year of his deal. I've grown up in the city. I've loved every second of it. That will never change. And now it's the business side of it. Is it smart to resign now after last season?
Starting point is 00:11:56 I don't know. I mean, I've just read all season how much I suck. So I guess I got to come out of the gates hot and just worry about myself and get the team in the best position possible, end quote, Rasmus Anderson. Can I say what I really feel? Yep. I know how I feel.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Quit fucking whining. who's saying you sucked like is this just there's signs these are signs around the city that I shouldn't miss he had the egregious plus minus thing and was playing with the broken level who has brought it up like we talk as much blames as anyone I don't recall
Starting point is 00:12:26 running him through no one said he's if we have talked about his bad plus minus then we have spent 10 to 20 times the amount of time over how great he is for his cap hit his attitude, how good he ever
Starting point is 00:12:42 all of that. We like Drasson Sanderson. Now, I don't want him to, because he's kind of like Nazabit. I think they like playing the, me against the world. Like he's a chip on his shoulder guy, right? Why?
Starting point is 00:12:53 So this is what he needs. And I think that's a bit of a window. But there's a difference. There's a difference of, yeah, having a chip on your shoulder when you're being soundly criticized. But if you're pissing and moaned,
Starting point is 00:13:04 no one's calling you out, dude. I think when the teams tried to sign you, there was a team in L.A. that wanted to trade for you, that you rejected the trade. Like, come on. It's a little, it's a little pissy pass for sure. But it's the same thing. Why are you weird to do? I don't know what, were you hammered last night?
Starting point is 00:13:24 No, I wish. That would have been great. I was at E-Bel sweating on full tilt instead. They're making the stipulation that it's different because he wouldn't resign there. He didn't reject the trade deal. It's the same fucking thing. It's totally. You've got my swearing now. If you read his quote and read into it.
Starting point is 00:13:39 The notion is that if I'm coming off not a great year, which I think is documenting. Played with the broken leg. It wasn't his best year. Why would that be the summer that I would extend? And you got a lot of heat. That's how you read that? Hang on.
Starting point is 00:13:51 You got a lot of heat from flames fans, not all them. They're like, he's screwing the team by not going to LA. Which flames fans? The clowns that post shit on the internet? Who cares? What are you talking about? Hey, I heard a lot of. This is the stuff that gets you upset.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Then get off the internet. Where? You show me the article. Cole. Oh, no one writes. Well, Pike writes. When did Pike write? Anderson sucks.
Starting point is 00:14:16 No, I've heard a few podcasts that took heavy runs in a future. What podcast? Who is a part? Our boys in the dome took a heavy run. Those dumb asses are drunk and hammer. So one podcast. He's saying, I've read all season how much I suck. Which is, again, showing you it's him against the world.
Starting point is 00:14:32 He loves being the chip. Wrap this show. I can't do it anymore today. I'm sorry for delivering the news regarding the full. No, you're telling me how to read it and that I'm reading it wrong and you're telling me what to interpret and how to interpret it. I'm reading it. You can read however you want to, you know. You can say he's soft and the kids are so weak these days and Rasmus is a deal. You can say all that. I haven't said any of that. We'll keep moving.
Starting point is 00:14:56 I like the player. He's got his best. Whether we said we don't like him. We all did. We just said we all like. But now you're saying that while I would never say that wrong because I like him and I think he's a good player. Like when, when, Well, you just call the whole point we just said. Like, we whine a button guys don't give us quotes. And then they tell us that they actually go, wow, you're being soft. This is the old.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Whoa, and we don't get a, no, he's making something up that I don't believe to be true. I don't disagree with that. And I think that's when it's just like NAS feeling snub by the Canadians. Like, you're good player. But look at the roster. What the fuck does NAS have to do with him? They're both guys that thrive on me against the world.
Starting point is 00:15:30 So creating and shit that doesn't create. It's just Michael Jordan is creating beef. You know what I mean. Some players are wired this way. I don't mind it at all. NFL, let's go. Before someone punches me. You don't think they're taking calls on Blake Coleman this year?
Starting point is 00:15:46 That's not trying to trade. That's answering the phone. What's the probability of Coleman can trade it this year? I think 10. Very long. I think you're 50. 10%? Really?
Starting point is 00:15:55 10% max. I think they're. Again, just using past. I think you've been gone for so long that you've forgotten what this organization does on a consistent basis. Because everything else is there. Is he playing great? Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Is he desirable? Yes. Yes. Yes. Does he fall under the Don Maloney? Will they do it? Trading Blake Coleman doesn't move you up the... Well, I guess your point-wise, but if you're bottom three already, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:16:25 Well, I mean, I guess we see four teams tied at the bottom there. You could really help break a tie there, in my opinion, by moving some bets. Like, if they trade Rasmus, that's going to hurt this team in the standings of the time. I think they're very likely to trade a tie. And if you're already there, I don't like to agree with him. You are running a pipe or on the pipe again because I'm on the pipe. Yes, you're piping. You're out in the mountains piping.
Starting point is 00:16:49 I'm piped. You shouldn't be piping into your system. If Coleman and Backland are your best players, shame on your fucking staff and you're like, where are the kids? Why aren't they better? And so this is kind of my point that you'd love to move out. So you got a bunch of mucky kids that can't play? Great.
Starting point is 00:17:05 They can play. But you need to. Says who? They're not. Hansik was fine when he was playing this year. That what a fucking vote of confidence. Fine. So you're not like this season.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Let's build a team around some fine. I wonder how Colman played as a kid. If he was fine, he's fine. I think Toronto's effed. I know that that first overall pick is going to help a lot. I think it's a cultural issue. They're going to have to change the coach because he clearly is not connecting. They don't have puck moving Dman.
Starting point is 00:17:34 They don't have defensemen. Who do they have? Well, they got a lot of older. guys that are physical to get hurt. Like Tanev, McHae, Benoit, um, these are not OEL,
Starting point is 00:17:43 like they're all longer in the tooth that don't distribute the puck as well as you'd like when you go. If that was the Oilers D, you'd say like you would, I'm not saying it's a good D. Don't, don't mistake my words. What I'm saying is radish supplements that group nicely because he does the
Starting point is 00:17:57 things they're bad at. Absolutely. But supplementing to get better, 10% isn't enough for the Leafs. The Leafs are still to me, if I'm a Leafs fan or that in that order, You're supposed to be winning. Yeah, I think they can make the playoffs next year. Maybe I'm crazy.
Starting point is 00:18:11 I'm not saying Toronto's going to make it next year. I'm not saying it's easy. What I'm saying is the path I expect them to choose is the one where they do everything at all costs for the next two years when they don't hold their own first to try to get in and I give it maybe a 40% chance happening. Listen to what you said. You said you think they're going to make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:18:29 I didn't say that, Red. I said, if you go back. No, but just listen. You didn't say that, Ryan. What I said is I don't think it's better than 50-50. We can rewind the tape. I think they said I think they'll make the play. I think it's possible they can make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Like, I'm sorry. Like, I don't think it's a crazy outlandish thought. Put it back up, Jack. That I still, I'm, why are you mad at me for? I don't see it. I don't know about you at all. I just can't finish a sentence that's all, which is what I do to everyone all the time.
Starting point is 00:18:54 So I'm fine. And I don't think Matthews, yes, he's stayed. Why has he stayed in Toronto? Because they've said, what do you want? He doesn't dislike Toronto. He has said, what do you want as far as yeah but they haven't even tried to extend him to max term he is dictated
Starting point is 00:19:12 and got it's it's it's whatever he wants it's yeah same with mcdavis every contract right down your number yes but macdivet has a fucking track record of leading a team to a stanley cup finals he's to compare the two is completely different do you find any similarities with ikel where it's like we can't even win with this guy we got to get rid of them where it's time to change no because the organizations are different i can't have can go and win somewhere. Yeah, but Ikel never won anything in Buffalo. They were the shits.
Starting point is 00:19:40 Like, it's not, I'm like, similarity with Matthews, right? They were in last place when Ikel was in Buffalo. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:19:46 I just mean, like, you talk about, like, what have you accomplished? Eicholas never, was never in a position to help a team win
Starting point is 00:19:52 in Buffalo into playoffs. Yeah, the teams are worse. They were terrible. Yeah. And I only just caution this thing, like, we've painted guys is you'll never win
Starting point is 00:20:00 with that guy, guys. And you just feel like body language, it hasn't happened. And then we also see those guys go on and win a bunch of cups. Who? Well, like, Kessel.
Starting point is 00:20:10 But he was like a secondary piece. He was the best player in Toronto and he couldn't win. Then he goes to a secondary piece and he does win. Right. But that's what we're saying is he's not going to be as the captain. He's not going to be. Boston and Vegas and win in Boston.
Starting point is 00:20:26 No, where did he? Pittsburgh. Thank you. Who were the captain? Yeah. That's why it matters. And that's the point I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:20:34 I get it. I again, I just think a lot of people, if you went back and looked at the tape, would have said you're never going to win with Jack Eichael. And he was their best player. You keep going to Eichl and it's a one-off thing and they got mad about an injury. If he has a tough time sorting this out or there's just this first. Why do you want to run him out of town? I will not finish.
Starting point is 00:20:52 Go ahead. This is where you're going with it. Where am I going on the H.L. You can't put him in the year. I know. I know, but that's where you continually harp and it's not allowed. Are you sick? No, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:21:04 What do you put your jacket on for? I'm cold. I'm cold. He's sick. Get to a half out. If you're going to a tournament where there's a gold medal at the end and you're going to do a lot of winning is the exact opposite of that. He's telling you this bullshit. Tell me what? Somebody's talked.
Starting point is 00:21:18 What have I said that's wrong? If he's playing and he's a rookie in the NHL, you're telling me he needs to go to the world juniors to up his enthusiasm for the game of hockey? No, I'm just saying this might not. This might be a little toxic. And it's in December. It has nothing to do with January when it's still. shitty and busy in the NHL and it's hard to play now i wonder about how fun of a place this is going to be in december and maybe they turn this around you're 19 playing in the fucking n hl what are you
Starting point is 00:21:46 whining what are we talking about we're going to go play world juniors to increase your enjoyment of the game after flames wins just get me to talk to red i'll get him because he didn't ship for you for about 15 minutes there thanks you're welcome anything we can do to get the show going there's back see he was the worst guy on the panel now he's in line for player of the game MVP of the show Raddery. Great. It would be awfully boring

Starting point is 00:28:40 So, yeah, there's some heated exchanges and we get on each other's nerves. And it's some long cold winters out there, guys. It's a lot going on. We've got a lot to deal with. And then sometimes you just kind of need a bit of a distraction, just something to kind of cleanse the palate. It's enough hockey talk for now. What else is going on?
Starting point is 00:29:02 Dumb stuff. I think we need to let people in on what happened this morning. Yeah, I can do it for you verbatim. Hey, Ryan, it's your old man. I'm looking in the lunchbox here. Is this missing a sandwich or something that's looking pretty light? Yeah, you know, there's half a thing of bean salad and there's some Thai food that's cold. He can pick one.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Yeah. Okay, because it doesn't look like a lot. He thought he had a sandwich. Yeah, Ryan's one kid was needing some. lunch and Ryan's options were some leftover Thai food or the bean salad that was in the fridge. Hi, Dean, you're not going to be disappointed. Everyone in the room kind of looked at each other. He says, Bean salad.
Starting point is 00:29:56 For the 10-year-old. For the kid. That's from me. Nice to tell you. Yeah, again, you can pump that up. You can try and sell it as selling. I don't like beans. I'm going to go to this joint because there's one by my house.
Starting point is 00:30:08 I'm going to try this G.D. Bean salad. I can tell you right now, it's not going to. It's not going to fly. If I'm putting this on the table tonight, a big film, please. Big old. Big old. Beans salad.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Dig in. And watch the people just tear into it. But when you first told people about Bontan's potato salad, potato salad is an acceptable salad. And you're like, no, no, no, you haven't had this potato salad. Disagree with you to a certain extent. There are certain. It's bacon.
Starting point is 00:30:37 It's amazing. We understand. So how much bacon is in the bean salad? Not as much. Right. Decidedly, lots of it. And dill and Nour cream?
Starting point is 00:30:44 Yeah. None. Anyway, it's not a perfect cop. No, they're down that way. Broche. Yep. Son, Daddy had a
Starting point is 00:31:01 a jag on last night because Springer hit a dinger, so I couldn't have lunch for you. There's some delicious chickpeas in the fridge. Enjoy the
Starting point is 00:31:15 Relax, my son. All right. So the hotter the color, the closer you are. Okay. Where do we want to start today? You can start anywhere. Let's start with Bosnia because that's a kid. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:27 I spell it. B-O-S-N-I-A. Pretty red. Oh. What does it say? So now what are we... Because it's red, it means it's close. I'm in Alberta Senior.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Let's go Albania. That's going to be close. Am I got a benefit? A-B-B-A-N-I-A. It'll be a little further south on the same coastline. Are you? Zoom in. Is that the same color?
Starting point is 00:31:59 What are we supposed to be doing? We got to figure out the country. Well, you put in Bosnia first. Albania is warmer. It says right underneath. It's warmer. It's warmer. Oh, it is warmer.
Starting point is 00:32:08 So we're on south. No, that's going to be beside Bosnia. It's got to be Greece. Greece. Do it. Warmer again. Warmer again. We'll go Malta or Cyprus is in the Mediterranean.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Those be countries that are what? Well, pick one. Cyprus. Spell it. C-Y-P-R. C-Y-P-R. U.S., I believe. Somebody is saying,
Starting point is 00:32:34 scroll down dummies. Yeah, they give you a hint, I think. Oh, geez. See? 1,400 kilometers. Oh, that's pretty. Tunisia? Is that on the northern coast there?
Starting point is 00:32:45 Across the Mediterranean. Did you do Cyprus? Yeah, let's see what Cyprus is. It's all that again, sorry? U.S. E, right? Cyprus. Trees.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Yes. I don't know if it's... Warm or still! Okay, now we're getting close to like... So has this... The Middle East. This has just picked a random country that we don't know. That's correct.
Starting point is 00:33:03 And we started with Bosnia. Yeah. Okay. So because of the shade, we knew we were pretty close. Scroll down. Scroll down. How close? I thought we were starting with...
Starting point is 00:33:11 We're less than a thousand kilometers away. Okay. What's this? And it looks like we're moving eastward. Let's go to Iran, Iraq, Israel, somewhere in there. Iran so far away. way. Oh, not close at all.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Way too far. Oh, down there. I only have to keep getting warmer. Because you're on a good run there. We didn't see the kilometers. That would have helped us a bit. So that's obviously way too. Yeah, I would have definitely. Oh, do we get it? The mystery country is Iran. Okay. We nailed it. Good work.
Starting point is 00:33:49 I told you, I'm a bit of a nerd with this stuff. Oh, my God. I can't wait to ask Jack how to show us today. Oh my God. Where in the world is carbon, San Diego? Might have been watched. It's great, green, like, where to go?
Starting point is 00:34:08 Oh, damn. I was like, geez, are we far away here? Green, I was in green. It was really far. What? People watching this that you know what's going on. It's like watching one of those hidden cameras. Like, look, they don't know what's happening.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Look, they're going to walk right into the glass door, aren't they? Okay, so Cyprus is it? We drilled it, buddy. That's about as good as a guest. Do you like whipped cream? Sure. Sure do, Ryan. You know I do, Ryan. Homemade whipped cream. It's beautiful stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Here we are. You can hear it as it's going up and down. It's whipping up the cream. And that's what you do. You whip the cream until you get whipped cream, which you can tell because it gets really stiff. And then you just keep churning until you hit what... Is that it, Jack, or can you play more?
Starting point is 00:35:09 play more. Look at them. Look at them. You are disgust me. So there's been this noise and it comes like, so I'm in the furnace room. We'd see. Is it the furnace? It's not the air conditioner. It's not the hot water tank. Oh, what the hell? We're going to have to call crystal waters and figure this out. But every 30 seconds, there's like a... What? Is that? No. Damn. That's son of a bitch.
Starting point is 00:36:10 He back. Every year. He back? You gotta move. What the f***? That asshole. You got a name for him? Bert.
Starting point is 00:36:21 He's about to get one. He's good at what he does. What an idiot. That's not even would, you moron. What are you doing up there? It is so loud. It just rings through the whole house. I was actually befuddled.
Starting point is 00:36:37 I had no idea when you're showing the... My daughter gives me shit. She's like, dad, like, it started six in the morning. It wakes me up every day. Would you do something about this? Oh, man. Had a serious, serious situation. I almost called for help last.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Really? You wouldn't have gone any, but. Well, I was sitting, I'm doing, uh, I'll tell you more detail. Anyway, I was at the, uh, my little workstation there downstairs, whole thing. And, uh, I guess I'd been there for a while, cutting video. looking at different things and I don't know if my if the chair is too low or too high or whatever but you kind of you know you're getting tuck my tuck your feet up underneath oh no the right leg the hammy just went ping ha hoo ha ho ha ho ha so you got to try and stretch her out so you're doing
Starting point is 00:37:35 these then you got to do this on the chair to get the get a ha you fight it And I know the woman I live with is upstairs, like right, basically right above. She can hear. She might be used to these noises. Yeah. He's at it again. Her silence and just disinterest just basically said, fuck you, Pat. Good luck, buddy.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Good. I hope you die down there. It's harsher than any language I've ever heard her used to use. We could around the old. It was a good 10, 12 minutes before I could even do anything. Really? I was going to reach for my fault. I couldn't get my phone.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I couldn't do. I couldn't move. You need one of those medical alert necklaces? I did. Yeah. I've cramped and I can't get up. Bean, Pahal, Perek, and Miro get popcorn. Well, you can't play Parek against McDavid. Sorry. No kidney soon.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Well, we're about to find out if you can play Bean against Jack. Could you put those back up? You don't see much? Yeah, I do. I mean, goodness gracious. Got somewhere to be, Jack? You got a hot date? Got dinner? Go out of Cowboys? right now? Hey.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Well, no, it's for you, you're because you're Pittsburgh fair. And on the, on the flip side, are we holding you up? Oh.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Do we want to see them again? Jack hates the lines. Splash them up, Jack. Jack, you do you, man. You're the boss. You nailed it. I'm not really good at sitting back
Starting point is 00:39:32 and just watching others do this stuff. I spent the better part of seven. hours yesterday. It's a 3-2-1 method of making ribs. So I've got the barbecued ribs already. They just have to go in the oven. Let's warm them up. My lovely bride, Holly, made three separate salads. Wow. Yeah. So we're... You're invited to buy house drinks. Anytime. Jack, help me out here. S-T-O-I-C. How do you say that word? S-T-O-I-C. Yeah. S-T-O-I-C. Yeah. T-O-I-C.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Give it. Send it. Sto-S-T-E-E-E-S-U-K. I can't figure it out either. Stoic? Is that correct? Sto-E-S-E-C? Sto-E-K? Sto-E-K.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Sto-E-K? What about Sto-E-E-L-E-L-E-L-L-E-L-L-E-L-E-L-E-V-E-V-E-E-V-E-E-W. We went down two games to none, second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. We were down to nothing. We lost both at home. Then we stormed back, went to Pittsburgh, one, two, went back for game five in Buffalo, when game five. No way. Three to two. Chance to finish in the igloo.
Starting point is 00:40:45 40-some seconds left. Stupid Curtis Brown can't beat Lemieux on the draw. Yeah, so you're leading here? This is... We're up a goal. Under a minute. Haschik and net. Empty net for the penguins.
Starting point is 00:40:59 Retro's out there. Yeah, he is. Ready to rock. Protect the lead. Lock it down. So you in front of the net there for us? No. You're in the other side.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Okay. Thank you. Things tonight and change a lot of things. It's really very short. A few weeks if they could just come up for this. Big goal now. Yocker hit behind the net. Back it comes to Pocon.
Starting point is 00:41:18 His shot. I can't. Cuff are pretty excited. It's. It's a time up there. Because you could time up. You were pretty fresh. You were old rules.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Now, did you know? Here it is. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Right. The puck hits brownies or somebody's foot and goes really, really, really high up in here.
Starting point is 00:41:46 You can watch my eyes. I'm looking. I'm like, Dom's just going to catch this. No. Dom lost. Yeah. And the guy behind me, that stick just to the right to me there? That's Mario.
Starting point is 00:41:57 The greatest. The greatest four players ever in his sports. Oh, Dom has. He's lost it. He's lost it. I'm like, he's just going to catch it. It's just a fly ball. It's a routine.

Starting point is 00:43:19 How was a show today, Jack? I thought it was really good I will say Over the years Even going back to the radio days When we would do something stupid or talk about something that had nothing to do with sports or nothing to do with hockey

Accuracy, some things that you will hear on Barnburner and then it's like, look, that came to pass. Like that came to fruition. Yeah, sure. but every once in a while and you don't need to do it
Starting point is 00:51:35 you know you could go back because it's all there on the internet you could go back and be like well what did what did they say about this? Oh well that wasn't right. Some loud wrongs from this past season of Barber. Cooley Cable in the league to like oh yeah this
Starting point is 00:51:58 guy that we've got on a PTO from the East Coast league's going to be he'll he'll play you want and then they go get presvetov he's making more money probably not coming back from russia sorry i know you like to have on and on but i do i have important things to ask such as who's going to get the spot presbyte's that's that's my i mean i think it's it's clearly a two-horse race we know wolf is the number one who's going to be the backup i would just suggest that you know before last night coolly has to reel him in and last night didn't help I would agree. That Bennett, Seneca, or Seneca, whatever you say it, like, it felt like a huge reach.
Starting point is 00:52:41 They take him at three at the time. And like, he was projected. He was so, like, 8 to 12 or whatever. And you're like, whoa, like, Pat, what's going on? I don't think they're, you know, they might be the surprise of the year if they made the playoffs, but I don't know if there'll be a playoff team. I do not see, I'm not hopeful. Odds, yeah, any odds they break the streak?
Starting point is 00:53:02 20%? Like, is that the kind of odds? I kind of sneaky like the roster, but I just, it's still Lindy Ruff and a GM, I don't think that's that sure. They got like four goalies and I'm not sure any of them or any good. I always say soft as puppy poo. The sabers have been super, super, super, super duper, super duper, super duper, super duper soft as puppy poo for a real long time. What are you doing? Hold these guys accountable.
Starting point is 00:53:29 And Lindy's gone in there. I don't know. Has it changed? It's too cozy for a. team and the franchise. Zero expectations has turned into zero expectations and the guys don't even care. If you have a young team with players that everyone's saying they're better on paper than they're on the ice is not the one thing you should be looking for in a coach like structure and work ethic? We don't need to keep talking about Buffalo, but they don't feel like a coach and GM away to me.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Their dog shirt in their own end. Hoof. Shizzle. And they're not committed to winning. No, they don't know how to win. They're out there and they're kind of zipping around and then they look good for, well, that's nice play. Tom's a great show. And then it's like, do you know how to play hockey? Are you playing hockey? Tough one is for talk. No goals, no points in seven games.
Starting point is 00:54:19 Minus eight on the series. He had 33 goals. He had 36 last year. I think you have to pay him. I think you do too. He's not going anywhere. Yeah, it's not done yet, but yeah, that's the only thing that's weird. It's not done because it feels like he's the natural.
Starting point is 00:54:36 What's Vegas? We have one of their draft picks. I watched a little bit of the game the other night. Who were they playing Edmondson? And it was a dog's breakfast. They were like a pack of dogs. They didn't need one dog to pull them into a fight. They would come at you nonstop.
Starting point is 00:54:53 It's not that anymore. Are they in the clear to make the playoffs? Edmonton, Vegas. Like, I'm just looking at the standings. I read a stat earlier today. Vegas did not beat a team in a playoff spot since November. They are not. They are not.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Stone left the game yesterday. I said this for all year. don't look like a team to me that I'd be worried about playing. Their D is not imposing. It used to be. It's not a murderer's row. Can I say this? Well, I can because I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:55:18 I'm crazy. I don't hold back, Jack. I'm crazy. I'm crazy. I'm going to yell at you on Friday about this. Are there too many fat cats in Vegas? Knights won four and one in their last six. They don't care.
Starting point is 00:55:32 They are, and I'm almost happy to see them failing. Because what happened in Vegas to start this whole love affair when It was a love affair. It was a bunch of fucking castoffs that wanted to play hockey. Now they've got a bunch of guys that want to collect paychecks and retire in Vegas. You did not want to go into Vegas. They run your show. You'd leave exhausted and with a loss.
Starting point is 00:55:54 And it's a long time since that's been the case. Has Brady Kachuk played his last game? What the hell is going on there? He's got a contract. Kach says he's fully committed. Is that, I mean, you're going to take him for face value? Not really. I think he will stay. Nothing for me points to Brady saying, check, please.
Starting point is 00:56:18 I don't think Matthew's leaving. I think Matthew has got a good thing going. I see the speculation and understand it from what I just laid out. But to me, that's just hearsay. Is Uyghur available? I think Calgary keeps Uyghur. I think we're all in the camp that it's 95% Rasmus has gone at some point. What are you left with?
Starting point is 00:56:43 Because I don't know that this management group nor this owner want to strip it back at that far. You need to keep an actual top pair guy. Well, you don't have to trade Weager now. No, and you can't for two years anyway because he controls all process. I'm on Team Weeks. We're Weger guys. He's not the way his level of play is not who he is. No, he's better than what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Weaker as an example, you can trade him, I don't know how many years left. Three years from now, you can. trade them. But you don't time it. I want to time it out so that all the kids were strong together. So moving weaker and getting a first overall pick in that season means
Starting point is 00:57:23 oh, we're a couple years away from that, this guy being good. I'd be fine if Carolina wants to get bounced in round one. They are the team where... Give us a spicy series. I don't feel any obligation at any point in a playoff run to watch them. They are playoff Seattle. I have no emotions,
Starting point is 00:57:42 but they make the playoffs. Yeah. They find ways to make playoff hockey, which is thrilling. Eh, I'll maybe, is it on? I guess I could watch it. Sorry, Rod, the boy. You know, Rod, get out of there. Oh, that'd be my thought. Get out of there. Not because of you, Rod, but you go somewhere else. It's been eight years. You've made the playoffs every year.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Everyone loves you. Your owner's grinding your salary. Come on. Get out of there, Rod. How nice can it be there? How nice can it be? Yeah, that's just us, you know, chopping it up. Cain's talk. You know, it's playoff time when the Canadian podcast began lashing at Rod Brindamore and the Hurricanes. Just straight up disrespect.
Starting point is 00:58:20 We see it every year. Note, these guys are Calgary fans. No, no, no. We're biased internet hacks. We are not Calgary fans. So then whatever you do, Rhett, as you know in social media, don't. Read the comments.
Starting point is 00:58:37 There were comments. Who are these clowns? Where is that guy's chip? That's outstanding. I've said it many times, made times before. This is the worst podcast that covers hockey. All three guys have a combined IQ under 100.
Starting point is 00:58:56 They know jack shit about anything outside of Canada. Another Canadian elitist group that makes American fans hate Canadian teams. F them. From Whaler Kane, Cooper, lazy podcasting and a reminder that anyone can buy a mic and a headset just a spew ass takes above team they've barely watched. Cooper. Tell that idiot to remove that Alabama hat.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Anyone with that dumb of a take doesn't deserve to wear it. That's what daddy's burner for sure. I guess. Yeah, that's tough. Three fat dipsets from Canada pretend to understand hockey, the podcast. Pender's not fat? He's not fat. He's a dips shit. Yeah, for sure. I'm still not watching Carolina. I don't give a shit what they said.
Starting point is 00:59:46 You know, if you can't be honest, what can you be? you know, there's some accountability. That's the thing about being on a team. It's the thing that we command. You know, have some accountability. If you make a mistake, you step up and you own it. It's a daily job on this thing. Owning up for our mistakes and our dumb stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:06 We appreciate you. Hope you enjoyed it. We'll be back. Again, we're doing the two show a week kind of a thing over the course of the summer. Why at the time we get into September? We're going to be back to full swing. Hockey season starts again, what, 20 something, the 84 games. I got to fill all these in now.
Starting point is 01:00:23 So the regular season starts in September, which is all right. And we'll be back giving her before too long. We appreciate you. The sponsors are what make it work. And I know you hear this all the time. But, you know, we're chopping away here. And I know that people at this time more than any, I think, are looking where are we going to, I want to hear about the flames.
Starting point is 01:00:42 Where are we going to go? What are we going to do? We've been here for you for going on, I guess, going on five years, man. It's, it's been flying by. And we're going to continue to roll. It's going to be a big year for Barn Burner, an interesting year for the flames last year of the dome,
Starting point is 01:00:54 and we're going to be right there. Along with all you, watching with great interest, enjoy the remainder of your summer. Be safe, be good. Support the sponsors. Do something fun. Get out of the house.
Starting point is 01:01:09 Do something nice for somebody that you maybe otherwise wouldn't. Do something nice for somebody. That might, it might be big for them. and oh, than that, no, it wasn't see you,
Starting point is 01:01:21 buddies.
