Are you cold or you just?
Yes.
It's both.
It's chilly in here today and I'm so excited.
I just can't hide it.
Friday is Hawaiian shirt day.
So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.
That's right.
Is that a parakeet?
Look at this obnoxious, loud, incredibly gaudy Hawaiian shirt, fellas.
That's a Palm Springs special right there.
am I 80 or what?
This is awesome.
Self-proclaimed.
Friday.
No, I mean, if you walk around and normal walks, like, just go try to do a normal thing wearing a shirt like this, you're a lunatic.
But for this show on this day.
I don't know.
I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I disagree.
I think it suits you totally.
That's what I mean.
Absolutely wearing that all the time.
But I'm not a normal human.
This is well stated and documented on this program.
Yeah, I think of Retro, if you show up one day wearing something like that,
Oh, what's happening here?
Imagine if you went to the bank and the your teller was right,
they're like, whoa, I'm not giving you money.
I'm going to, uh, yeah, no deposits,
it's just withdrawal, please.
I'll just take whatever I've got.
Uh, we're into it.
It is a Friday edition.
We got Darren,
coming up in a little bit, about 15 minutes.
We'll talk to Dreg's, TSN Insider,
and he will join us on the Crystal Waters insider hotline.
We've got some hockey to talk about.
We've got some baseball.
We only got some football, but we need to start.
And I would think maybe with a night like last night, maybe it was tame.
I'm not sure you guys are getting older, but we'll start with the McLeod Law opening statements.
Maybe a lawyer needed to be on hand in Red Deer last night.
We'll figure things out.
McLeod Law, they're local.
You need legal assistance.
You need legal help.
They're right here in our city, helping people in our city.
The Cloud Law, proud of those Calgary Roots, big part of their longstanding client relationships.
They get this city and the people in it the way they're.
things work, they're diverse.
They're just, oh, they're just good people.
I don't know why it's new.
There's no rhyme or reason for it.
So there you go.
MacLeoddashlaw.com is the website.
Good partners of ours.
Great partners.
Great, so great, great part, just the greatest.
There's no one better than McLeodlaw.
This is going to be awesome.
People that I can't see the show now.
The tumor cuts out.
And it can't be overheated.
because it's cold in here as established.
Are your gates open, Dean?
And it just started.
We've just started.
So Red Deer.
Warner, you were up in Red Deer.
We talked about it yesterday for the Hockey Alberta Foundation,
Ronald McDonald's House, among other things.
Glenn Cross, doing good things for people,
and you were part of it.
I didn't do anything good for anyone,
but I did show up.
I lost my jersey.
I got beat on the River, Dean.
The River got me.
trip eights not the turn
eight the turn and the river
eight eight eight to give the guy trip eight
what kind of junk hand what why are you in on this
is that a single eight
queen eight all in what are you doing
gross what else that he have
pair kings
king king eight that's got a seven percent of the time
you win that you're going to need to see some uh you're going to
need to see uh the flop and maybe the turn
if you got a king eight that's uh very
very rattled by
women who just got him off
out of leave.
I like it because he laughed the first time, but now
he's pissed. You can tell he's kidding. I
only like it.
Shoot. Because I don't care
and it's driving him
insane. He's going to lose his mind.
I just don't understand.
Anyway,
no, I don't know what else happens in Red Deer.
I live there for a little bit.
What? You don't know what's how you live there and you don't know what
happens there. Did you have kids?
Were you single?
you should know things.
Well, take a look.
Jack Scott,
I don't know what,
maybe you can tell me,
Warner,
you were there.
Oh, wow.
That's Tim Hunter.
That's the wrong colors,
Tim.
In oil or colors.
What is happening up there?
What is going on?
And there's more.
That's not all.
I don't like that.
The hell is going on.
Well,
he's got his happy face on at last.
Is Halashemski there?
Why is he looking like that?
Yeah, he is.
He's having a heck of a day.
But of course, now you weren't there for the hockey portion, correct?
You just showed up for that.
No, I was not participating in the, you've retired.
Skating and shooting.
Totally retired.
People are asking me.
I'm like, no.
No.
That is an injury just waiting to happen.
Never on the shoulders and the.
Yeah.
stem cells, etc.
Yeah.
The thing I like about it is he does have the bucket
cinched right up in case something happens.
We've got the chin strap.
We're ready to roll.
That guy's not being through the ringer before.
He's not been jumped.
He knows how it works.
Somebody wants to make a name.
We're going after him.
Wow.
Look at these photos.
For him, aside from maybe some salt in the beard,
looks like he could play right now.
Oh, 100%.
100%.
He could slide into the top four and especially with that jersey on.
Yes, he could definitely.
He's a left shot, right?
Yes.
Okay.
So that might be a bit of an issue, but whatever.
Talented enough to play both sides.
Let's put them on the right.
You could help darnel.
Should we try to get chiseled?
Is that a?
I brought some supplements today.
There's a lot of work, right?
I know.
Unless you got some roids or something.
Hmm.
Those.
Jack, do you have any roids?
No, I don't have any roids.
Boom.
What?
Can you try switching cords?
Maybe turn the camera on and off?
God damn it.
It's not the cord, Jack.
We need a hard re-
I've already changed it.
It's happening before I change the cords,
and it's so proud of his home studio.
You know what I love is that he was so sour about this studio
because sometimes things wouldn't go perfect.
And it was like, well, at my home studio,
and now the home studio is the cluster.
I came in there and I made that one run like a well-oiled machine.
Then make yours run like a well-oiled machine.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the heck is going on.
We love it, though.
Having issues?
Maybe I'll click that link.
We got to get off of this software.
What was it two years ago?
We recommended a software and they went another way and it was the shits.
And then we said, well, what about that software that we told you about in the first place?
Oh, you're not going to go with it again?
I'll like, I get there.
So you're thinking this is not a hardware issue?
Software.
I don't disagree on the software.
software, but I think this is also an off-air conversation, too.
Well, the hardware is working.
Like it's, there's something somewhere.
Cutting out?
The audio is working. The audio is working.
Yeah. Yeah. And the video is working, but it's not staying on.
I'm, I'm going to go with software on this one.
But anyway, so I didn't, I just saw that. So did you see the, the football game last night?
You wouldn't have seen it. Oh, my God.
No, I was, at the, uh, the, the Glencross thing. And there
There's lots going on and they may raise a lot of money and there was a whole bunch of dusters and some good people.
Good job.
I got a Canuck fan to wear a jersey of flames jersey.
So I did my duty.
One of the time.
How about that?
Well, I didn't even what a game to miss.
Well, you know what?
Just I threw together the highlights, Jack.
I've got Thursday night.
This is what you missed last night.
The Saints and Broncos.
That's a good one.
Talking about him is.
The only name on us will be Moxie.
High snap, drops it.
Who?
In trouble.
runs into his own man and loses the ball and it's picked up again by Cody
yeah second and ten look out it called that a fumble i had over an interception that is such a
b s call crossing that's an interception that is an interception that's guys happen
that's all you need to see that's enough that's it yeah that's good enough the two ruled fumbles by the
NFL.
This was really something.
This is a highlight real.
It's a good one.
And it didn't stand because the flag wiped it out.
But a lot happened there.
Was there no, we needed a music to that.
Yeah, you need the Benny Hill theme.
Yeah.
Or some circus music.
Colitis.
What do they call it?
Colitis.
We talked about it.
Sometimes bad football can be entertaining.
That was not the case.
No, it wasn't.
Bad football was just bad football.
Unless you had Giovante Williams, who I'm playing this week in fantasy.
Oh.
Playing against, I should say.
Gross.
He's almost a favorite guy.
Beard science has him in the lineup,
and I'm like, that guy hasn't done much all year.
24 points.
I don't think beard science is alive.
Somebody's just running.
We need a beard science update.
Yeah.
Is there another exciting game though?
Offer conversation.
That feels like it's extremely off air conversation.
Why is we say, why?
Was there another sporting event last night?
Yeah, there was, God damn it.
A little more exciting, that one.
Yeah, give us some highlights of that.
Go ahead.
Out in the package.
Don't have the highlights?
Where's the package?
I'm sure you're watching.
Ready for a one, two.
Here he comes.
Two outs.
Judge, line drive, right field, hit well.
And it's up and out.
How clutch is that?
Judge has homered.
Two outs.
The game is tied at three.
Eighth thin.
Incredible.
A home run to carry Carpenter.
That ball's hit well.
Deep center field.
Way back there.
John Carlos Stanton?
Back to back?
Jack?
Back?
No.
New York Yankees have grabbed the lead.
That's a name.
Gares the winning run in game three.
Friots.
No.
Not the front door.
That's awesome.
I have two points.
Lights up to Cleveland night.
So if you need them, that is, I believe,
eight runs in the last two innings and four bombs in the last two
games in the playoffs,
facing a potential three-oh-hole.
I have goosebumps.
So good.
I may have let out an expletive in Boston pizza.
I won't lie.
B-D.
Come on.
Life went from, okay, so take a lead in the eighth.
This terrific.
How about that?
The guys that you want to be there getting her done, Judge Stanton.
Very nice.
Very nice.
3-0 series lead.
You draw it up.
And then right in the shitter.
Well, thanks, Duke.
Duke.
Luke, I think Boomer is dealing with a, whatever that is.
Epcac.
Got any pebcac issues?
Well, we'll find, maybe it's Friday.
May find out later with any luck.
I'm not sure what that is.
But Duke, thanks for the two beans on the super chat.
we'll look into it.
Jack?
Take a look into the
PEPCAC.
Pebcac, I'm on it.
Figure that out.
If you would.
So yeah, and you know what?
Everybody was loving it.
They were very happy in Cleveland.
Everybody that hates the Yankees were very happy.
They were all in letting me know about it.
Even Spanish, it sounds like maybe
the impartial Spanish
commentating team
may have been rooting for the Guardians
in this one.
Really? Yeah. Well, I mean, you take, you tell me. Thanks.
figured you'd like it because that's your favorite song
Feliz Navidad. It is one of the
all time. Top ten.
It's top five.
Yeah. Top five. I think
even Aaron Boone
was asked about it afterwards.
It kind of sucks
being on the losing end, but that's kind
of legendary baseball that we saw
tonight. Two home runs
in the eighth to take the lead. Two home runs
to piss it away in the ninth in front of
a sold out crowd in Cleveland and it was
I mean, yeah. So
I think, do I get any, I served up the highlights.
I think you guys thought I was maybe going to just skirt by it.
I wondered.
Yeah.
I want to, when we asked about the package,
I wasn't sure you'd have it in there.
I know you're at home dealing with technical difficulties.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Working on those software issues, zeros and ones.
Dealing with it.
Epcac.
Yeah, the old Pabcac.
Not the first, not the last time, probably.
What did you eat?
Yeah.
Pretty standard.
standard really, go with the brute no onions.
It comes automatically with the meat sauce now.
You don't even have to ask for the, what do they call it,
the bullenays or whatever they're calling it.
And we're doing the cactus cuts on the side.
What dip?
Well, they have just the, just the, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But you got to go with the big one.
So do I need to clarify your stance on onions because you went cactus cuts,
but you went no onions in the sandwich?
Yeah.
Are they not both onions?
Cut this cuts are.
There's green onions, chopped.
green onions in the cactus cut dip.
Okay.
Different.
And I enjoy a fried onion, but a raw onion, no.
And because they don't put, because of the way they cook the sandwich,
it's not in there very long, it's really just to kind of toast the bread and melt
the cheese.
So it's not cooking.
So it's just crunchy onion.
Yeah.
I just prefer the sauce, the taste of the sauce and that.
And also, much like I kind of went into yesterday.
You know what it does, Ryan?
Tell me.
It gives me one of these.
I think your cameras needs more of those.
and it can hit it any time and last for a long time it's three in the morning don't need that
that sort of a thing yeah that's sort of a thing uh but other than that things everything's
oh the flames last night yeah how the game look you know that's not playing they're in
where they can more yeah i saw huska with the three sisters behind them in some interview
what that's the man's three sisters they went out to uh lovely can which is
I played Seattle.
Seattle.
Seattle.
No, they had a little
a little jaunt out to the mountains.
Wasn't that nice for them?
It was good for you and you were on the team.
All these bills for buying tickets,
popcorn, and they're going on vacation.
He didn't moan about it when he went to Banff on the flames.
I never went to,
I went to Banff once and got cut.
He didn't go to Banff.
I thought you were cut before you went to Banff.
Isn't that how that story goes?
I knew it was coming.
I remember it wasn't official.
I remember the Uniform.
for them more than the
circumstances. Yeah, yeah. That's a good
story. Pires on the bus. That's a good story.
We can get into it at some point, I suppose.
Details coming up a week today. We're going to be live at origin. We'll tell you
a button a little bit as well. Our Friday
football picks with Bet, 365.
We had a pretty good week. We had a pretty good week.
Jack's on fire. We're all doing good, but Jack's on another level right now.
And we're going to have to check in on the jackometer as well.
Yeah.
Big game coming up.
I mean,
I saw a clip from Jets practice this morning, Aaron Rogers.
Throwing a dime to Devante Adams.
It's done it before.
He'll do it again.
Already they just.
Jack doesn't like that.
You just grimaced.
Yeah.
Just actually he started to punch himself in the chest like you.
Give you one.
Oh, yeah, one of those.
Don't need one of those.
It's time for the insider portion of the program.

TSN Hockey Insider and our buddy, Darren Dregor joins us.
Dreg's, how are we doing, pal?
Yeah, I'm doing okay, beautiful, beautiful day here in southern Ontario as we get close
to the end of October, so no complaints.
We're getting ready for some snow, I think, out here, Dreys.
Monday, maybe?
Maybe by Monday.
Monday.
Yeah, little dusting.
You're ready for it, though, right?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
It's springing on.
This deep into the year.
without snow is crazy.
So we'll take it every time.
Great fun.
Yeah, be a nice weekend of swapping out winter tires
and putting lawn furniture away
and doing all that kind of stuff.
Well, I mean, we're, what do we know?
Now we can change into the season.
And some teams are feeling real good.
Other teams, not so good.
The predators lose last night.
They fall to 0 and 4.
They're giving up a lot of goals.
They're not scoring very many.
The Colorado Avalanche,
kind of the same story.
I know that the goal is to win the Stanley Cup,
and we talked about it on the yesterday show.
No one's gone 04 and then gone back to win the cup.
But nothing for Stamcoast's in four games.
Marsha So gets on the board.
I don't want to put,
you're kind of,
you're going to walk dregs through,
kind of what your thoughts were,
Barry Trots, bringing Marci So and Stamcoast
into national.
My opinion, in a nutshell,
was it was over-aggressive and unnecessary.
Hmm. Interesting.
You had a team that had jelled and came together and had success and had a big push to make the playoffs.
And you looked at it and thought, oh, this is our window.
And you went after it.
Now it's four games.
I'm very happy and proven golf.
Yeah.
I mean, Trots did describe those guys, right, when you brought them in as serial winners, right?
Need to surround us here in Nashville, serial winners.
And, yeah, for sure, that applies to Stap.
goes into the lesser degree to Marshall.
But then we're four games in.
And what John Marshall described their group is being fragile?
You get four games in and it's a fragile group.
I'm not as rigid on the National Predators as Rhett seems to be.
Although, hey, I respect that opinion.
And it may prove to be 100% accurate 10, 15 games down the path here.
I still feel like more time is needed.
Now, the guys they brought in, for the most part, are offensively driven, right?
And Bruno, all coaches are believers in structure and defense first and all of those things.
So we'll see whether or not some of these new guys or the group is willing to bend to play the right way first and go through some of this adversity or if it just comes completely off the rails.
But one thing I'll tell you, there's a nervousness that's building in Nashville.
What does that mean?
I don't even know what that means.
It's just when you're Barry Trots, a newly minted GM in the National Hockey League,
and to your point, Rhett, you swing for the fence.
You're not trying to hit a double or a triple here to drive in a run.
You're looking for the grand salami here.
And it starts like this.
There's not panic, but there's nervous in this building, for sure.
Reminiscent of Trilliving when he signed Uyghur and Huberdo.
I mean, it's all different, but somewhat the same.
Yeah, a little bit more knee-jerk.
And I think at the time in Calgary, there was more pressure, though, right?
There was more pressure on Tree from ownership, senior management and all of that.
I don't get the sense that there's any of that type of environment in Nashville.
I mean, Barry Trots, he's running the show.
There's no doubt about that.
And, you know, in Tree's case, not defending.
him, but it was knee jerk, right, to what happened with Johnny.
And then obviously Matthew said, yeah, I'm not here for the long term.
So here's where I'll go.
And that is essentially it.
And he was he was blocked with a market that was still hungry in an ownership group that
still wanted to win.
So not dissimilar in terms of, you know, what the ultimate goal is.
And that's to expedite a process to get closer to winning.
And so far, it's just not proving that way.
Yeah.
Even the press conference and the availability
that Trilliving held after that,
it was all emotional conversation.
It was a punching back, you know,
fighting back for the city.
It was very not logical X's and O's.
It was very much a,
we got to prove something to other people.
And that seems to be when GMs get over their skis,
when they're chasing emotions rather than logical decisions.
Yeah.
No, that's fair.
Again, we're four games in.
And we used to, it was never fun for me,
because I was the,
stooge that had to get on national television.
And part of my assignment was,
pick a hot seat candidate.
Yeah.
And it was always for the season preview.
These guys haven't dropped the puck there.
And I'm already putting coaches and general managers.
You've got the Grim Reaper cloak on.
You know,
it was embarrassing.
Like,
for about five straight years,
I'd get a text from Ken Hitchcock,
basically just hammering me over the head.
You know,
really, we haven't even played a period of hockey.
and I'm on a hot seat
now in Hitch's case
in certain situations
it was well.
It kind of was.
Yeah.
But I laugh because
as part of a larger group chat,
we kind of had that conversation
earlier this morning.
I don't seem,
I don't think anyone's on a hot seat in Nashville.
You know, Colorado.
I was going to say,
what's up in Colorado?
They've had success.
They've been to the top.
Good, good guy,
good hockey people get
let go just sometimes because, oh, we need to change that sort of thing.
Again, knee jerk, but what do you see in Colorado?
All I see is uncertainty there, right?
You know, they've got almost, I think CJ mentioned $35, 37 million in tied up finances
and players who aren't playing who aren't available to them, right?
And then furthermore, your goaltending isn't good.
You know, they've got the uncertainty of Nachushkin, you know, what's that going to be like?
Gabriel Lannis, God love this guy, man.
Like he's the $60 million man.
Like he's trying to do something that I don't know that's ever been done in sport,
let alone in the National Hockey League,
coming back from a surgery and the injuries and everything that he's had.
But he just keeps plowing forward with the goal of stepping back in the NHL.
Was that going to happen in a month?
Is it going to happen, you know, in the new year?
Is it ever going to happen again?
So, you know, there's just so much going on around this club.
And I don't know that it's having a negative impact, but it does impact what you can do to kind of write some of the wrongs that are on the ice.
But the one thing that always strikes me is there's just, I'm waiting for the spontaneous combustion of Nate McKenna.
Like, you see it, and that's what fuels this guy, right?
is that just insatiable want to compete.
But it was like game one, game two,
and he is snapping on the bench
because of a missed penalty or whatever.
And we know how hot this guy runs.
We know there have been run-ins in the past with Jared Bednar.
I think that things have kind of slowed.
But that's the player that McKinnon is.
Like he runs hot on the bench.
But, you know, all of that combined is that finally having the negative impact
that we're seeing out of the gate here in Nashville.
And all of it could be a contributing factor for sure.
I look at that Colorado roster and the bottom half of forwards and D.
I'm like, I've never heard like Ivan Ivan, who the hell's this guy?
And look, they're capped out because of what you said.
They got over 30 million bucks on guys that aren't healthy.
You can't play.
You got Duran and Tabe short term, the captain and Natchewishkin.
How do you approach the Nchuskin thing?
Like, let's say that leadership group, and we heard the comments from, I believe,
Eric Johnson, when they essentially got eliminated and he sort of said,
well, Val made his decisions, you know, essentially saying like his priorities were to, you know,
do things that he knew could hurt the team.
And for the second straight playoffs, he did it and hurt the team.
And really, he's put a serious blow in their playoff and cup chances,
two post seasons in a row.
How do they approach that situation?
Can you move them?
Is there no value until he proves he's going to be a clean, productive hockey player?
Like, how do you approach it if you wanted to get rid of him?
Yeah, well, all of that.
I mean, when he's healthy, he's part of game changing, right?
I mean, he can be that influential.
of a hockey player. We've seen that historically. I guess I, you know, I'm going to concede to
rip on this one. I, you know, when certain media, and I'm not wumping you guys into this,
but there are certain things that media will throw out that just rankled me. The use of the
word gutless to describe a player or a situation by media always pisses me off because unless
you've, you've skated in that player's shoes or you're in that room or you're in that lineup,
can we possibly know? So I guess what I'm saying is I think that would have to be up to Bednar,
up to management, but more importantly, Brett, to the guys in that room. Is he healthy enough?
Are you assured, do you know and feel in your heart that this guy is going to give everything
that he can? Number one, to stay healthy, right? As a person to stay healthy. And then number two,
to make sure that he is in distraction or is in a position to detract from the ultimate goal of the team.
And I think Brett is not where it starts?
I would 100%.
I would expect that the players would have to have the biggest voice in this.
I mean, I have no idea.
Maybe they love the guy.
Maybe they're done with them.
But that's that right there decides it all for me.
Yeah.
Right?
If you're talking to the players and they're like, yeah, I don't.
think we need to bring them back.
We're better off, right?
Like, it's over.
If you don't have each other's backs, it's not going to work.
And I'm not trying to predict whether they do or they don't or what it feels like in
that room towards Nachushkin, but it would, to me, it would be the player's decision.
What do you guys want?
And then the GM's job is the how do I get value out of it?
Like, boys, can we have them for two weeks just so I can showcase them?
Like, that's kind of the fine balance because the GM's job is to try to not,
Yeah.
This guy who could be a perennial all-star for nothing, right?
Yeah.
And in tough comparison here, though, fellows,
like there are always managers out there,
clubs out there with a support of ownership
that are willing to risk and gamble.
And, you know, not comparing players here are situations.
But I think of Callum Kerman and the Vegas Golden Knights Choir
and Jack Eichol from the Buffalo Sabres.
There was zero guarantee that the surgery that Eichol had was going to work.
You know, I mean, there was some chance.
that he wasn't going to be able to play.
And Buffalo wouldn't, you know, go to the lengths that were needed to allow him to have that surgery.
And it's worked out marvelously for Jack Eichol and for the Vegas Golden Knight.
So there's always going to be a general manager.
They're going to want to have their multiple conversations with Nachushchev and
if Colorado gets to that place, based on this player, and if he's healthy,
and they decide they're going to explore trade, they'll be a team with interest.
read a thing this morning
and I know
so in St. Louis they've had
like Al McIna's a pretty good player
Chris Pronger
pretty good player
they've had some
last night
Philip Broberg
said a blues record
for a D man getting points
in each of his first five games
he is a point per game
defenseman through the first week in change
I just told he wasn't worth that contract dean
I don't know is that what he talked
I don't know what you're talking about
Scalgary drags come on you know your audience here
that's outstanding
I mean, if you would like to advance the conversation, maybe?
Well, here's the deal.
So, you know, I deal with player agents a lot, obviously, in what I do.
And I probably attend conversation with Darren Farris, who represents Philip
Roberg over the course of last year from training camp forward, right?
And for cap reasons, for a variety of different reasons, they just didn't see the fit of
Philip Roberg in that Edmonton-Oilers dynamic at the start of the year.
And then over the course of the year.
And then until they needed him in the late in the season in the playoffs,
did it become evident that, okay, maybe there was some maturity that needed to take place
the growing pains of a young defenseman and all that.
He looked pretty good.
I mean, he looked pretty good, didn't he?
But then they're backed in through a myriad of decisions in an effort to win a Stanley Cup into a corner where, you know,
obviously Doug Armstrong and St. Louis, blue, said, we think this guy can play.
He should be an everyday NHL defenseman.
And if he can't do that in Edmonton, then we're going to take our swing.
And they used the hammer of the collective bargaining agreement to do something that so many teams should do.
And almost nobody does.
Almost nobody does.
And in this case, it made the St. Louis Blues that much better and the Edmonton orders that much worse.
Like we can't, we can't envision a scenario where Philip Roeberg could be helping that Edmonton order,
blue line right now? Come on. Come on. And, you know, and this isn't a knock on Holland,
or Bowman, I guess, but it sure feels like you had to find a way because you're going to have
to spend asset to fix that blue line at some point. You know, the top players, you know,
Leon got spanked the other night and I guess they responded and found a way to clawback
and win that game against Philadelphia. And now they win two in a row. So the ship has been
righted there. So your top players, first and foremost, have to find a way to perform.
But look at the three pieces that they don't have on that blue line that I never thought I'd be talking about as they miss.
Cody C.C., Vinny Day or Ney and Philip Robert.
I'll play the right side too.
Yeah.
And look at the players that they've had to use to replace them.
And with all due respect, those guys just aren't that they're not as good as those guys.
So it is an area that they're going to have to fix.
So I'm glad that Philip Robert is having a hell of the time in St. Louis because he was ready to be an NHL defenseman.
Well, and Jeff Jackson's got responsibility here to Dreggs because Ken Holland, they knew he wasn't coming back.
And Stan Bowman wasn't announced until later.
And on July 1, you are horny as hell to go sign 30 plus forwards, one that had just been bought out.
That's what puts you an offer sheet peril.
If you don't do that and you say, hey, guys, just give us a couple weeks.
You don't get there because the whole idea was once they'd sign those guys and they didn't have an ARB case,
now you've really got them with the offer sheet.
They don't have another buyout window.
So like Jeff, and then it's Jeff Jackson clients that are coming in.
It's Stetcher renewal.
It's Emerson.
It's a lot of guys that were his, like, are those the best players available?
Or is that just what he's familiar with?
Yeah, well, you know what?
And I'll give Jeff credit for this.
When you do that, you surround yourself with players that you're most familiar with.
And you know them from a character standpoint, which you would, obviously, is the former
agent in this case.
It either works or it doesn't.
And if it doesn't, knowing that ownership group, the way I know,
you know there's going to be some tough questions asked you know is is this lot the best available
and the other thing just to go back on on broberg and the whole offer sheet you know it's not like
these offer sheets just land on your desk as as as the parent team if you will i guarantee you
that that Darren ferris had lots conversations with maybe jeff and stan boleman whoever with the
way there's to say, hey, we need to get Broberg done here. Here's this number. Well, we don't,
we don't, we don't, we don't, we don't want any part of that. I'm telling you that,
I think there'll be an offer sheet at this number. If you can get close to that number,
then let's, let's get something done. If you're Broberg and you feel like you've got a home
in a place and an opportunity in Edmonton, you know, you just lost game seven on the Stanley Cup
final. I'm pretty sure you'd, you'd want to stay with some form of,
of security.
So, you know, the threat of an offer sheet doesn't just happen in a minute.
It happens over an extended period of time.
And the teams that own rights to these players always know, always known.
And in this case, they just said, nah, we'll let him go.
We can't afford to do otherwise.
So one of the odds that get a better player to fill that hole than he's looking like in St.
Louis?
Nah, like next.
So in that case, it's a massive cluster.
Yeah.
So in those conversations that you have, and maybe.
it got there, maybe it didn't, but we're kind of led to believe that the flames were very close
to doing the same sort of thing. If not for both Holloway and Broberg, then Broberg at least.
Are you of the same thinking there? I'm not, I don't know how close Calgary was, but
I wouldn't be surprised that they got close. Again, you know, you do have to do the connecting
of the dots here. And Ferris represents Nazan Kagri. He would have a real tight relationship
with Craig Conr.
So I'm sure that Calgary would have been in that group of teams that Ferris,
when he knew that there wasn't going to be the right fit,
would have been exploring or having the potential conversation with.
But how close they got, Dean, I'm not sure.
There was a conditional third tied up that the flames needed.
You have to have your own picks for it.
And you'll get the conditional one back that you probably weren't even going to lose anyway.
You'd have to pay assets to get something back.
You're probably going to keep it.
It sounded like they considered it seriously from the intel.
but St. Louis, it's a masterclass,
especially when you get the two of them.
And hopefully dregs, this shows other teams.
It isn't just some old boys handshake club.
Like we go have pops together and no one hurts.
Like this is blue,
hopefully, and other teams will use this weapon.
Okay, hold on though, because that just tweaked something.
Here's something that everybody probably knows.
Ken Holland and Doug Armstrong are super close.
Golf buddies, yeah.
Very good bucks.
And look, they've had a tremendous success with hockey Canada, right,
in past international management regimes and whatnot.
I'm not suggesting that there would have been any insider trading.
But this one could have been a little sweeter for Army to swoop in and just, you know,
just show a team that maybe didn't necessarily do right by his buddy Kenny moving forward here.
that all right, you know, you guys,
you're going through some upheaval here.
There's a change in management.
I'm not so,
I'm pretty sure that Armstrong isn't doing that
with Ken Holland as general manager of the Edmont.
Don't know that.
I mean, he wants to win above all else.
But of course he's going to say that.
Yeah, of course.
And that's really what it comes down to,
I guess, Dregs, right, is just the fear of reprisals
that you'll be left vulnerable with your own RFAs down the road.
and then you're going to, because we have seen it.
Well, yeah, but you're right, you're right, boomer.
But so here's what happens.
I'll use another Canadian team as an example.
So we know that, you know, Winnipeg and the Culper Fetty camp, you know,
went much longer than anyone expected in getting that two-year bridge done.
And I'm sure that, you know, Kurt Overhart and Cam Stewart
who represented Colper Fretti were hoping, hoping that somebody was going to swoop in with an offer sheet.
Okay.
Well, that's fine.
But if you're doing your work, and again, it's not like Doug Armstrong to go back to this,
wouldn't have called Stan Bowman or Jeff Jackson to say, hey, I'm just, I'm offer sheeting.
Or they would have known that to just reiterate my point.
And if that had happened in Winnipeg, I guarantee you, Kevin Sheveled AF would have said,
go ahead, offer sheet them.
You're just going to, you'll make my summer easier.
I'll get on with my summer because I'm going to.
match and and you're going to look like a moron for doing this.
And on top of that, you're pissing me off.
And chances are I'm not going to do business with you unless it's going to benefit me moving
forward.
So these things, I wish they happen more.
They should happen more because you're just utilizing the tool in the CBA.
But there is some kind of behind the scenes gentlemanly behavior that prevents it from
happening more.
Yeah, even the blues.
They give up a third and a kid's right.
It's Edmonton for nothing.
And you're like, yeah, that's helping this along.
Yeah.
There's conversations happening here.
Sure.
I don't know if we lost boom or not.
Wanted to get a quick thought from you on the goaltending market.
There was, you know, we've talked a lot all summer about what Egersia Sturkin wants to do.
And now we've seen Swamen and Ottinger.
You can build cases for them to be top five, top ten goalies in the world.
Yeah.
Both sounding identical eight times eight and a quarter.
Linus Olmark won a Vesna a couple years ago.
He signs for eight and a quarter.
Are we seeing sort of a new bar being set or a new standard or is Igor irrelevant because he's better than the guys.
Yeah, that isn't going to put a damper on the negotiations from Schisturkin's perspective.
You know, I don't know if I've mentioned it on this show before, but I'm going to revisit it because I don't think enough has been made of it.
When you're an elite level goaltenderly, Igor Schisturkin or an elite level player, you know, we always get caught up in the advantage of having that eight.
year it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things because if you're yours is sturkin
and the max you can sign as an unrestricted free agent in the summer is a seven year okay all right
that's fine i'm going to pick the the or situation i want to go to maybe it's a tax-friendlyer
state than new york so i can make up my money there or you know what i think i'm going to feel
pretty good at the end of my seven-year run and i'm going to sign a one-year deal at eight nine
million dollars there to stay with that club or go some like the money to the top end guys like
this when it comes to free agency that eighth year doesn't mean squat what matters i think is the
window that chesterkin believes that he deserves to get paid in and that's somewhere between
114 and 117 on an annual average 117 would make him the highest paid new york ranger just slightly
ahead of our tammy panarin and hey to some guys that matter that matter
So that's a long way away from Jake Ottinger or Jeremy Swimming.
I think, you know, the reason that Ottinger's deal got done so quickly was he just recognized that, okay, Swamen gets done.
I'm, you know, I guess I could push for a little bit more, but why that's fair value.
I can tell you, that's more than Dallas wanted to pay.
But Swamon getting 825 is more than Boston wanted to pay.
And it's a tax friendly.
Yeah, he's going to take home more than Swamen well.
Yeah, for sure, for sure he will in Dallas.
So, I mean, both Boston and Dallas are probably a little sour that they had to pay more.
But in the end, look around the teams.
We talked about Colorado earlier where goaltending is kind of all over the map.
Look at the teams that struggle and goal.
If you've got one, then you better lock down and hold on tight.
I think what, two years left on Panarin's deal too?
You talk about the highest paid ranger?
That's a one-year overlap with the Nusius-Durkin deal.
That's not easy.
They've got big turnover coming there, though, right?
And that's probably, yeah.
I think 12, 13 guys are in the final year of their contract in New York.
So that to me also bodes well for Schisturkin being in a position of strength there.
He's just like, you want to, you know, if ownership wants to roll the dice and see how this plays out, that's, that's fine by me.
But I say that, and I wouldn't be surprised if all of a sudden New York just goes, okay, let's just get this deal done and everybody.
move on. Here in town,
a lot of eyebrows were raised last night. Frank
Saravale was on
intermission and said the flames
aren't just kicking tires on the
center market. They'd like to add after this
4-0 star that has everyone very excited about this
team. No expectations. Great start.
Tip of the cap to the club that's played well, but
how seriously are they actually going to
think about parting with assets to get another
center behind 35-year-old
back, 34-year-old cadre,
the pospousal's first year ever playing center?
Well, that's going to be the
tricky part. And what time are we talking here sooner rather than later? And who's available?
Like, you know, which center is going to pop free into the market at this stage or in the next 25 games?
That's the tricky part. And, you know, is there an appetite for it? Sure. I mean, why not?
When you look in the middle of the ice, I mean, I said going into the season that I was convinced mostly by people around the calorie.
that this forward group was going to be better than what it was being given credit for,
going into training camp, going into the regular season.
And I think for the most part that that holds true.
But the area of Center Ice is an area that they did flag as an area that they wanted to improve.
But there wouldn't be too many teams in the league outside to a handful that are deep up the middle in one, two, three,
that aren't looking for at worst,
an upgrade at number three center.
Now, I look in Winnipeg.
You know, look at Namestikoff is Winnipeg's number two center, right?
I mean, the Winnipeg Jets are looking for or will be looking for a center.
So it's all relative.
I think Frank is right.
I just,
the timeline is going to be the tricky part for Conroy.
What do your thoughts, right, when you hear Flames actively seeking the center?
Like, I get big picture.
Well, it has to fit the, what they're trying to do, right?
Like, I don't think they're going to go add a maybe 30-year-olds.
Yeah, like if he's on a one-year deal.
I mean, I haven't even thought about it.
But it's so early on and four games and I like how they're playing.
And I just, even my first comments with dregs were about Nashville and how they jelled.
Chemistry, yeah.
Don't F with it.
Just, if it's going to work out, it'll work.
Like, going and adding another player doesn't mean you're going to be better.
Yeah.
It just doesn't.
Yeah.
And it can't come at the cost of futures either, right?
I mean, Calgary is in that delicate place.
I mean, Connie keeps trying to convince anyone who asks, mostly media people, that they're not continuing to renovate and tear down.
They've done the heavy lifting.
Okay, well, if we're to believe them, there's no reason not to, then there has to be that delicate balance of, you know, being patient and developing some of your younger assets.
Well, going out because you've got a terrific start and blowing out top graphics or developing prospects for a center that is in the two or the three hole, not so sure that's wise management.
What do you make of the start?
Again, we says, it's early.
But there's reasons.
There's at least, you know, kernels here and there where you think, okay, maybe this is the start of something that might be sustainable to a second.
You were trying to put the hamster back on the wheel there for a second, Boomer,
but we talked about how, you know, the forwards for the Calgary Flames.
I think we're not given enough credit.
People still want to question the goal-thending,
and I think we're going to do that until we have to stop questioning the goal-tending.
I think that mindset matters a whole lot.
And I think that, number one, you've got some key pieces here,
especially the veteran guys and we've named them like Backlin and Cadbury and Jonathan.
Let's stop talking about and worrying about Jonathan Huberto going back to the numbers that he posted with the floor of Panthers.
It's just not going to happen.
But if you get the Jonathan Huberto that you're getting now moving forward, there's nothing wrong with that.
You can live with that.
So I think that there's a high level of belief inside that room, as cliche as it sounds.
And I'll tell you, if they can maintain that attitude, that can smooth out.
a lot of wrinkles.
And you can get through stretches where, yeah, you wish you had a little bit more depth
in this area or that area.
But I think it's sustainable.
I just, I mean, come on.
Sustainable being you hang in the mix, right?
You find a way.
Yeah, not sustainable trying to lock down first place overall in the Western Conference.
I mean, that's not getting out.
So what's up for the next week?
What does TSN have you doing?
It was on the hot seat.
Yeah.
I know you love that.
Cricking hot seat.
You know what?
It was a pretty decent week.
Not a whole lot going on.
There's always something going on in the hot world.
But no, you know what?
We're into the grind now.
Now that we're through the first week of the regular season,
you guys know you hit your rhythm,
you hit your routine,
and you just kind of go after one day at a time.
So, yeah, nothing special, Boomer.
Nothing special.
And before we go, just the question we had on yesterday's show,
We do a little great clips inbox.
The question, I guess I'll just kind of paraphrase.
If you were at a friend's house and you clog the toilet and there is no plunger, what do you do?
I don't know if you saw any of that yesterday.
Oh, boy.
Wow.
I can't.
That's a hot seat.
Hold on.
I guess what I would do is go tell the owner, not the wife, but the husband.
Chad Cesar, he's a buddy.
Sorry, dude.
You know, I had a 16 ounce prime rib for lunch and it's just not right.
But I can't share the identity of this individual, but this happened probably about 20, 25 years ago in my house.
Had a buddy staying over.
And needless to say, we can see stuff floating out from under the doorway of the bathroom into the main area.
See, I'm going through my head.
Okay, 25 years ago, you were with who and who was there.
That doesn't make you bad, right?
It's just not bad guys, just bad plumbing.
That's what it was.
Yeah, he's bad plumbing.
That's right.
Have a great week, buddy.
He too, fellas.
There you go.
Aaron Dregor, TSA Insider.
On the hot seat.
That's right.
Oh, Lee.
Crystal Waters, insider hotline.
Crystal waters, plumbing and heating.
A little tie in there.
If you see stuff.
floating out the door.
Maybe it's time to call Crystal Waters.
Your crystal clear choice for
home comfort, 403, 219,
4,100, check them out online, crystal
clear Calgary.com, and yes, Barnburner
listeners, viewers, new hot
water heater, AC, or furnace, you'll
receive discounts and upgrades up to a thousand bucks
in value. Didn't they stop by Retzis?
They're in my house. Oh, yeah? What's
Lester or Lex? Lex,
I can't remember, and Mike, they popped
by, they said, man, you sure took care
of things. You got it all dialed
then.
That's what they said.
Awesome.
Ever built your house?
You've clearly been living here
in the last two years.
I found a few red flags.
How was the filter situation?
Is everything up to snuff?
But you know what?
That's what it is.
That's the way you get crystal.
And then they take care of that for you.
Absolutely.
You feel that, you know what?
I bet you have a lot more peace of mind right now.
I do.
I've got the right people,
taking care of the right things.
That's right.
Leicester.
Lester or Lex or?
I don't remember.
There you go.
Lex.
Yeah.
We didn't talk.
I mean,
we got into other stuff and then Dregs came on.
The center conversation.
And it's not to try and.
We'll revisit.
We'll revisit.
We'll be a torpedo frank or whatever.
But it's just interesting that there's the,
okay, so who is available?
Who could it be?
There's,
and then there's the other side that there is the appetite to pursue a trade,
which I guess is maybe always there.
But I was,
was a little surprised because like you say right you're four and oh even if it's say it's three
and one say you're happy with what you're seeing this crew that you've assembled is meshing
with the coaches the coaches are meshing with the players there's it's working let's just roll for
a little bit there's no expectations this year I guess GM works the phones I don't know yeah
it's his job to to see what these things cost there's there's a dire need there long term
back on 35 quadries 34 possible still has worked at center it doesn't mean
he isn't better suited on a wing in a perfect world.
You're an injury and you're in those top two center lines away from a really big problem.
Like Sam Morton in the NHL,
great for him.
Wouldn't be great for everyone else.
But look,
you can't be given up,
as Dreg said.
Like you have three first this year.
One's going to go to Montreal,
which one of this will find out.
It can't be given up that for,
you know,
a year and a half of Martin,
Martin Natchis.
Like not now.
You know, again,
fall 27.
that's when the building opens this is not your push chips in all in moments this is no and
everyone's excited about how things are going and because of the i keep saying jelling but the mesh the
chemistry that's being created that's still the reason they're they have an f you about them yeah
culturally they have that and chemistry they've got and we're four games in and we're going to go
I mean, if you go make a trade for a centerman,
it better be one hell of a deal.
I was going to say, if this was a,
I'm kind of drawn to play with Eichl 2.0,
a guy who is an elite centerman in his mid-20s,
who would never otherwise be available,
but somehow is, then for by all means,
you start to go to work and see what you can do.
You're going to get a decade of a number one sentiment, sure.
Yeah, but if you're going to go and add a guy who has got a year
and change or two years and is a middle six maybe a third lines no it depends and again all these things
are always will be and always are what are you giving up to get it okay we gave up nothing and we got
this guy for a year and okay well we got lots of cap space what the hell difference is make it's just that
you don't get assets for nothing like it's it's it's it's always it's always has to be the what's
the total package and what are you getting in return for what you're giving up totally probably
there's deal. If you can make a hell of a deal, go ahead. I don't care. You got 20 million
in gap space. That's not going to bite you in the ass. So, and if he's going to fit in with your
chemistry of your team, sure. But if you're going to swing for the fences right now because
you're short of centermen and you're four and oh. No, you can't be trying to achieve short term
goals with with future assets here. It's clearly this thing isn't far along enough for that.
And look, these deals happen, but it's like once a decade.
It's Eichel, it's Thornton, Sagan.
Like, that's basically it for like legit franchise centers that have moved.
And Sagan's almost kind of a winger more anyway.
Like, it just doesn't happen.
Like, you show me the GM that wants to get rid of a 20 to 25 year old right shot centerman,
which is what Connie continues to talk about needing in the organization.
They're just, they're not there.
And yeah, there's some RFA's this summer.
And maybe there's some sticky arb situations or, you know,
the type of spot we saw with Marty,
natious they even kissed and made up on a two-year deal but you could just wait for sam bennett and
free agency in a year too if you wanted yeah you know the other i guess the other thing too and we'll
move on from it because we've kind of i think established our point was we talk every day on this show
and it's for the fans you know be excited but just do whatever we've been preaching if you read
just get into a rebuild do so retool whatever you want to call it but go young give it a try
yeah it's like four games you're you're not losing patience already are you it's no no like
For a while yet, just let this.
Don't abandon it now.
Hey, we had a good 10 days.
We're going for it.
Our first round pick on the table.
It's like, shit.
Took 20 years for them to finally kind of subscribe to rebuilding and tearing things down.
Yeah, and Connery can say whatever the hell he wants.
He knows exactly what he's put together.
It's a no expectation season.
They're playing with house money right there.
There should be no pressure point on adding to this group.
Everyone's so thrilled and excited about the friend.
players and the results, you know, there'll be plenty of time for ringing your hands.
It ain't now.
This is not a hot seat spot for the GM, the coach, anyone.
Hot seat.
We got so many new segments.
Warner's Whiteboard, the hot seat, top five.
Why are you in my phone?
Oh, man.
That one went around yesterday.
A lot of creativity.
Had a lot of feedback from some Randy's yesterday.
Randy's.
Yeah.
Randy with my old boss mentioned my name on your show.
Sorry.
It's hard to explain.
A week from today, we will be doing this show from the O.C.
I know what you think.
Go to Anheim?
Maybe.
Do you see Leo Carlson?
Yeah, you have to break the news to Sterling and those guys, you know, going to California.
I know we'd say we're coming to your new tap room and all, but the Hilton's are a fifth-generation family farm.
They've been growing the highest quality barley in the world for over 40 years.
They've been selling their malt.
brewing their own beer. They've been doing it in Strathmore, 60 Spruce Park Drive.
Earlier this year, they added to the operation, a brand new location in Calgary, where they're
doing the brewing, and they're serving it up as well in the tap room.
Originbrewing.ca, 943, 28th Street in the northeast. It's their grand opening.
Doors opened at noon, and we go be there. That's right. We're going to be there doing this show.
maybe other shows,
streaming or something.
We're not really sure.
Streaming talking.
We'll just be hearing.
Streaming, talking, drinking.
Tip and sipping.
Yeah.
High kicking.
Low score.
You bet.
Delicious.
Tires.
Your specials, food, music,
games, and barb burner.
What else do you want?
I mean, that's pretty much it.
Yeah.
I need a babysitter now.
That's what I'm realizing.
You'll, you know,
Of all those things, I can't leave.
I have no willpower to leave that environment to parent.
I know, I know.
But it's pretty cool for them.
The business was growing and I think I said it the other day.
They were doing a lot with a little.
It's a small space in Strathmore.
And it had kind of gone from, I'll be fun to do.
We're growing the barley.
We're doing this, the malting side.
We should just do the beer ourselves.
And then it picked up and then more and more.
varieties and kinds of beers took off and it's getting hard.
Geez, getting harder to keep up to the demand.
So they needed this.
And I think even now, they're running full,
full steam out of both locations.
Happy for them.
You can come and try the homegrown.
Of course, the Barnburner blonde and we,
we love it.
But they got the Mexican logger, the Pioneer IPA,
lazy days, hazy IPA,
Rockyford raspberry prickly pair.
This.
There's Dana.
taking in the game the other night. Sorry, Dana didn't get it in a couple days ago,
but there it is, the barn burner blonde.
I'd say you kick off season right there.
We're very proud of it. We're very, uh, we're honored to have our name attached to it.
They came on, they did all the work and we were very happy to, uh, have our name on it.
And I think I kind of threw it out there might be more collaborating.
I like that idea in the near future.
Well, starting on Friday next week. Join us noon on.
Yeah. There you go.
Too early, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That cares.
Boom, how'd you fix her camera?
I did a, I turned it off and turned it back on again.
Is that called a power cycle dean?
Yeah, I did a power cycle, guys.
Yeah, there's no rhyme or reason, which is why it's, it's a hardware issue.
I feel like it's not.
I know.
I'm bugging you.
I feel like it's, uh, I've never seen another camera blink in and out on this.
software ever before.
Well, and when, because when we were, anyway, as soon as we go back to the three shot,
boop, out I go.
We show highlights.
The three of us are on.
No problem.
Come back to the three shot.
Off here conversations.
No clue.
Yeah, Red doesn't have any ideas.
There's usually an idea guy, but not in this.
No.
That doesn't seem like a time for an idea.
It seems like you need a solution.
Pabcac.
Yeah, the old pebcac could be that.
It's the old pebcac, eh?
Warner and Red, but, or Ryan, there's more for you, uh, Retro.
You know what I'm doing?
Hmm.
I'm doing a bird this weekend.
I'm doing a bird today.
Just a chicken, though.
I'm doing a bird.
See, that's the smartest thing you could ever do.
I was away last, because we did Thanksgiving because we were way last weekend.
We did our Thanksgiving, the weekend before.
I've got bag of potatoes.
I got onions.
I got all the stuff.
I got plenty of left or I got a bird just sitting there in the old deep
free saying hey,
don't forget about me,
bud.
I can never forget about you, buddy.
Yeah.
So you know what he's doing right now?
He's on.
He's on.
He's thorn out.
Now he's gone out.
Throw him a knot up.
His cold plunges over.
He's gone now.
Of the stories.
In the lake every day,
do you know that?
Of the despicable tales that you've shared over the years,
that might.
be the most disgusting
one. Yeah, never mind putting all his
boogers for like two years on that little arm
beside the windshield and the side window.
Oh, I just
far as poops and I mean, you name it.
We've heard it. So gross.
Because you are a horrible person.
And that is
Christmas. That is your worst.
That's the most disgusting story.
I think about it.
What's in a gravy?
Taste chlorine.
Mmm.
A lot of foam in the hot tub.
Gross.
That is so appalling.
Oh, we got Dino going.
It's,
false freedom.
This is the best stuff right here.
No, I'm good.
No, you're not.
The hot tub.
Now my camera's going to work.
Prick.
Are you inviting people over for the feast?
Or you just,
I don't think so.
What about buns?
Do you do into buns, too?
Those are amazing.
Buzz?
Well, see, here's a thing.
I feel like I'm kind of,
there's Tara.
Yeah, Tara's on it.
Someone was asked your gun recipe on the,
the Great Clips Simbox last week
when you were gone when we did the Great Clips Simbox.
Oh, did they?
Are you willing to disclose, or is that a state secret?
I don't know how people feel about these recipes.
I don't have any myself, but I noticed differing policies.
It's not, you know what it is?
It's not really a secret, but there is some,
it takes a special touch.
proprietary information.
It's a science, Dean.
It's a fine,
fine art.
You can take the,
you know,
because here's the thing.
You got a milk,
flour,
yeast,
butter,
eggs.
Pretty standard.
Seems.
But are we,
what are we doing with the butter?
Are we room temperatureing that?
Are we melting that?
We're doing with the eggs.
Are we bringing it?
How long are we putting the yeast in before we put the other stuff in?
Double risers.
Science.
And then when you get that, you get the dough.
Current composite.
How sticky, you know, how sticky is it?
Because if it's so easy to handle.
It's probably too dense by that point.
You don't want dense buns.
You screwed at that point?
Is there any turning back?
They're okay, but they're not as good.
There's nothing like a nice, fluffy bun, right?
A dip more in the gravy more when they're dead, more dense.
When you got, when you need, when it's like, oh, I'll cut the bun.
Throw it out.
What are you doing?
Too dense.
Take the bun.
It should just do one of these.
Now you can go full screen, Jack.
All you need to do when you have buns down the right is just do one of these.
Oh, yeah.
Then a slab of butter on it.
Yeah.
And then swirly, swirly into the gravy.
So that's what's going on here.
I was thinking, sidebar.
I was thinking of a.
inviting Jack because he didn't really do a Thanksgiving
last weekend.
Yeah, but he's getting ripped.
What day are you doing it?
Well, it's going to be Sunday and there's some football on, get the red zone
zone and stuff, but.
Jack, you,
available Sunday?
If there's football on.
Do you know?
Football goes all day.
Like, is he going to be there all day?
Give him a window.
See morning games, afternoon.
It's their prime time.
That's all you get.
You get the London game too for yourself.
He's not going to bug you for the London game.
You're sleeping.
Oh, I'm up for that.
up for that 730 a Sunday a lot of jack you're saying boys don't mess around you really want to
see jacksonville fricking new england that bad that's a gross game sleep in don't even sudden
retro what are you doing what are you doing this weekend yeah well i was going to do a roast chicken today
uh and then the shovelers leaving town she's headed down south to the medicine hat for the weekend and
I got the other two.
Thanks to run around.
So I'm not coming to your house.
I'm just wondering how many buns I got to make.
No, they got two big games.
Seeding games.
The seating rounds are.
Explain that.
I don't understand it.
I can't explain.
Minor hockey.
Sort of just to make sure that it's a regular season of sorts,
but if teams are too good or bad,
we can still move them before the real second half,
the regular season?
Yeah.
Okay, got it.
Got it.
So you really want to throw these ones.
Oh, yeah, yeah, get down a level.
Yeah, go down a grouping and then kick some ass.
That's right.
For for incentive time, I work by the hockey.
If I had to guess, it looks like they put a guy in net that doesn't usually play goal.
You sure is not very good at all.
Div 5.
Square.
If you run a restaurant, you're too busy for this ad.
You're thinking about how to get more orders.
flowing and new locations opening.
You need to get more customers and keep them coming back,
so really you're already thinking about Square
because Square Restaurant Tech helps more than 400,000 restaurants
do all those things and more.
So when you're thinking about your restaurant,
think bigger and think Square.
Maximize sales by making it easy to process orders,
in-house with a kiosk or a mobile POS for table side orders,
online ordering, takeout, and delivery.
Check it out online.
Squareup.com.
to see why Square is big in restaurants and other things too.
I mean, it's it's everywhere,
but certainly for restaurants,
being able to do stuff,
table side,
delivery at the door,
that sort of thing,
this is what Square is all about.
If you had said POS 10 years ago,
I'd be looking at you like,
you want to fight,
but now everyone knows a different thing.
That's right.
Yeah.
Point of sale.
That's what it is.
Commerce.
You went to school for?
Oh, management.
Yeah, a big time commerce guy, sure.
That jolato place opened next third.
Dino just in time.
Oh, just in time for.
We're past snow.
And I'm sure all the renovations will be done here before the snow.
Yeah, yeah, lots of good sit on a construction site for eight months.
Yeah, lots of good foot traffic out there for the gelato shop.
I'm going to go try it.
You guys are.
I'd like to.
I want to support these businesses.
The small business owner.
I feel terrible for the summer.
They got to survive the winter.
Oh, I feel bad for them.
So that's stupid Mardi Loup.
I wonder if we've lost him for a few days, hey?
Like he's stayed home.
Oh, yeah, I'm worried about it.
Now it's like, this is convenient.
No, you know what?
I would have to run.
Take the weekend.
I'd rather come in today.
There are extenuating circumstances.
Everything all right on the home front?
Everything's fine.
It's a busy time.
It's a busy time for mom at work.
So it's kind of a seven day a week.
type of thing. We're doing lots of working.
Okay. So I got to.
Is your eldest at home or is he Globetrotting right now?
No, he's home. I don't know. I don't see him.
He comes in, eats all the food, leaves it all over the counter and then leaves.
That's a hell of a plan. My brother's like 39. He's still doing it. It's a well.
Really? Yeah. Slide in, empty the fridge of leftovers. Take something out of the deep freeze,
come back in a week. Yeah. That won't happen here. But, but you're right. It's a hell of a
set up if you got it. It's a real. It's a real. It's a real. It's, it's, it's,
unbelievable. It's a great spot.
We'll do our bet three, six, five
football picks. I got to admit, I
didn't have a lot of time.
Jackson worried. He's on a heater, but he's worried.
You could feel the tension in there. He does not like the slate.
He doesn't like the numbers, and he has loved everything
he's seen for like a month here.
He's been feeling it. Do we want to do it? And you're stressed out because you
didn't have time to do your super analysis?
That might be perfect. It's been so successful for you.
Hey, I like I've been two and one the last two weeks.
Take a look here.
It was a horrendous.
Now just two games under.
You're fighting back.
Boom, get over 500.
Let's go.
Jacko 13 and 5.
Shut the front door.
That's good stuff.
He's a sharp.
Rhett very solid 116 and 1.
I'm 107.1, one game behind him.
Do you know, you're a good week away, buddy?
We get everyone to 500.
That would be unbelievable.
Well, do we want to do it now after we're asking
Pindra?
Maybe we'll just get into it.
We're already here.
And Jack's got to lead off.
He's red hot.
We can just copy his picks.

Download the app.
Use the code FN bonus.
FN bonus.
Whatever the sport, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet 365.
Let's go.
Oh.
I love this game.
Lions at Vikings.
Detroit, one and a half point underdogs.
I think Detroit is a better team than Minnesota.
Minnesota undefeated, but I like what I've seen from Detroit the past couple weeks.
They did lose Aidan Hutchinson for the year.
They lost.
That was gross injury.
But I think they come into Minnesota and beat them outright.
This is a very, sorry, what are you going to say?
You're good.
Miami traveling to Indy, Miami coming off a bye week.
They've been absolutely horrible.
But I think this is a good get right spot for them at Indianapolis.
looks like Anthony Richardson will be back.
Thank God, because Joe Flacco is actually good.
I'll take the Dolphins plus three.
And I'm going to take Rett's Bills minus nine at Tennessee.
They added Amari Cooper this week.
Another weapon for Josh Allen.
The Titans might be the worst football team in the league.
Will Levis sucks.
His coach hates him.
Nine is not enough.
Yeah, the coach does hate the quarterback.
Yes, it is.
And that's important because you cut off the bottom.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah.
You should be going Nashville,
Rats.
You know what?
You had an old man episode the other day.
You were whining about how Nashville was cooler 10 years ago.
Shut your mouth and get down there.
You should be there this weekend.
Still pretty cool.
Probably was cooler 10 years ago.
But in fairness,
how are you going to know without going and really kind of getting into it?
I should have some reconnaissance mission down there.
No.
See, there you go.
Poor planning by me.
Yeah.
The quote for,
from the coach last week,
because Calvin Ridley was all sour after.
I'm not getting the ball.
I'm not getting the ball.
GD ball. I'm not getting the ball.
So the coach was asked about it.
It's like,
are there no plays for Ridley or for any of the receivers?
And he said,
paraphrasing, he's like,
oh, there's,
there's,
there's,
there's,
there's,
we,
we have plays where the ball is to go down the field,
but the ball's not getting down the field.
We're calling the plays,
but the ball isn't getting
down the field.
I'm wrong with the balls.
The ball is the ball.
I don't know.
Flight gate.
Yeah.
The ball is not getting.
They take the laces out.
He doesn't have any grip on it.
Why is not a feel for Levis if that's the case?
That's a tough spot.
I was that again,
I was,
we went to the first half last week because it was hard to watch.
And the crowd was booing.
Oh,
booing them after the first series.
Levis takes the snap and like does a straight like just a
dumps it off to the running back.
who's out in the flat, two yards.
Running play, one yard.
Throw to the other side,
to the running back on the other side,
three yards, punt, boo!
They've just, they've had it.
They've had it.
So I'm with you.
And I, now do we know is,
Mark, Mr. Cooper's going to play.
Is he playing?
Yeah, hang on Mr. Cooper's in there.
Yeah.
And look, I don't know how much the playbook he's going to know.
He's immediately their best receiver.
It's just how quickly can you get him on the same page as Josh Allen,
or maybe it's only just a couple plays and a few packages they build for him
and he has a big day or not.
This is a weird spot for fantasy,
but they're a way better team moving forward with them.
And does it sound like maybe they're not done?
I wouldn't be sure.
Was he on McAfee the other days?
Yeah, we're very happy with the Cooper trade.
We're just always looking.
If there's more out there to do, then there's more out there to do.
Running game looks okay.
You could add another receiver.
DeAndre Hopkins, get him out of Nashville.
That'd be nice.
D-Hop.
He could be hanging Mr. Cooper.
better than pretending Curtis Samuel is relevant in this league, right?
Coleman, just throw it.
Almost going to be fine.
Yeah, it's fine.
And is Shakir playing this week?
I don't think it is he?
I don't think so.
Yeah.
You get knocked up last week?
I think so.
Mac Hollins, we don't see more Ram.
That's enough.
Okay, my picks.
Let's go.
Let's go.
We're talking about the bills.
He's getting so.
He's like, let's move.
He's got a lunch date or something.
There it is.
The important thing for me this weekend,
as far as the NFL is concerned,
is concerned.
Last night was a great
example of bad football teams playing bad football and not wanting to watch the bad football.
Right.
So this week, my theme is games I want to watch.
Good football.
Let's watch good football instead of crappy football.
So, of course, the bills, everyone loves the bills.
We all want to watch the bills.
I'm in agreement with Jack.
They will pump the Titans.
They're at home.
Doesn't matter.
Titans are shite.
Does say they're at Buffalo.
That's an important distinction.
It is.
It doesn't matter.
Even better.
Vikings versus lions.
Kind of stalled out there.
Vikings versus line.
This is must watch NFL football at this point of the season.
Division's really good.
Yes.
Very good.
I have no say in the matter, but the Vikings are at home.
Let's go Vikings.
Good luck to Pete Lombardius and Jamie Coons, huge Viking fans.
Arash Badani?
Ah, Arash, madamey loves the
Oh, yeah.
Arash, that's right, Arash.
I forgot about Arash.
The Vikings are a bit billish.
They screw things up often as well.
So we're going to go with the Vikings.
Lions are a bit bilished.
Green Bay, Houston,
I'm taking the home team again.
Minus three points.
Don't feel overly confident,
but it's a game I want to watch,
so I got to pick a team.
That's a good game.
It should be fun.
Houston 5 and 1, Green Bay, 4, and 2.
That's fun.
It's a game I want to watch and I had to pick a team.
Check with the weather.
What's going on in Green Bay?
Like that to me, I like Houston a lot, but this is outdoors.
It's on turf.
10 mile an hour winds,
70.
What's the weather?
Like to day.
Okay, my picks.
Let's get right into them.
I also like Detroit with Jack, unlike Red.
I think this is a complete team playing good football.
Point in half.
I'll take it.
Patriots are not good fellas.
They are not good.
but you know who's worse?
The Jaguars and Patriots finally got their better quarterback in and Drake May.
How's this game being played over in London?
This game's 725 slot early morning.
Jacksonville, they've been there for Walnut.
Then they play their week.
They'll be all more traumatized.
Yeah, the other asses kicked last week.
The team that loves London got their asses kicked and they still suck.
The Bears eviscerated them and the Patriots getting six points.
They can still lose and I win this.
I'm going to take the Patriots plus six.
plus one and a half.
And I like the Bengals against a very bad Cleveland Browns come.
As long as Deshawn Watson's a quarterback,
I'm very comfortable playing the bets on the other side of the ledger as them.
Cincinnati offensive,
we've been very good lately.
Jamar's been going off.
I don't love the Browns could keep up.
I just don't.
Like Deshawn can't move the chains.
It's going to have to be special teams and defensive.
This is close in my mind.
Cincinnati minus five and a half.
Did I see yesterday Joe Burrow has never won in Cleveland?
It's time.
Quarterback of the Bengals.
It's time.
Yeah.
What do you feel if you're left in Cleveland?
Get the other quarterback in and we still might be good.
It's what happened last year.
They switched to Flacco and they were fine.
You've got to get your best quarterback in.
It's not just...
You've got all the other players like standing at the fence
watching Cooper get picked up by a black car,
taking him to the airport.
Oh.
No, honestly, though, like if James Winston goes in,
why couldn't they be a good team?
We like the defense.
The run game's been fine.
They can't complete passes.
You know what, though?
It's what they get.
It is what they get.
They got dragged.
You get into bed with a creep like that.
And you know, and look what Baker Mayfield's doing for Tampa Bay right now.
Totally.
You went out.
You got a despicable human.
Paid him a bunch of money.
And guaranteed it all, which is insane.
Yeah.
Given the circumstances.
Like it wasn't like, oh, we got to Cleveland.
Then we've, no, no, you had knew about all this stuff and you guaranteed it.
No one had guaranteed it.
guaranteed a contract like that. No one since has had a contract guaranteed like that. That is the
outlier idiotic decision of the last 20 years. And you traded a billion things to get them.
I found a video online the other day. It was of a Browns fan. And I was, I was like, oh, I'm going to get this
for the show. And he was sitting in his car and he's wearing his brown stuff. And it was after the
Cooper trade. So of course, he's sour. And then after a while, you realize it's just him really just
swearing. There's a bleakin, bleak and bligigie, blakety, Blake, Bligee, Blakeety,
I'm happy for you.
You get out of here,
but Bligety,
Watson,
Black, Blake, Bliggy,
Blake,
I'm so sick of this.
Bliggini.
Okay, I believe you.
And I feel you.
But as far as entertainment value,
it's just a guy swearing,
sitting in his car.
But I do feel for the fans.
There's not been a lot to cheer about there.
And now they've got to watch.
They're just waiting for their coach.
Please stop playing this quarterback.
And he comes out every week.
No, no, we're staying with Watson.
You're paying him either way, guys.
Like, Cleveland, hello.
Like, he is getting all that money.
So whether he's playing or not,
it's the same finances for the owner.
Like go put your better quarterback in.
All right, my picks.
Let's go boom.
Now I got to tell you, before you show him, Jack,
before you show him,
I'm just going to throw this out to the world and to you guys.
Yeah.
I was doing a bit of reading the other day.
I have it here.
I'll read it to you because the Kansas City Chiefs
are taking on the San Francisco 49ers.
The Chiefs are getting a point and a half.
Coming off a buy as well, correct?
In San Fran and a Super Bowl rematch.
Yeah, undefeated, wild.
Mahomes, when the Chiefs are underdogs,
10 and 3 straight up in 13 starts.
Jeez.
11, 1 and 1 against the spread as a dog.
I mean, those numbers are pretty decisive, Dean.
That's why I did not go with the Chiefs and Niners.
That's twice.
stayed away from it altogether.
That's intimidating. You're so sure of it, you can't trust it.
I was so impressed with those numbers. I took a screenshot and then didn't go with it anyway.
Do you want to switch? We'll allow a switch.
No, I don't know. We'll look at it here.
We'll look at it here. Here's my picks.
The chargers are favored on the road.
Don't get it.
Cardinals aren't great, but I don't know why the chargers would be getting points on the road.
No Gus Edwards either for the chargers.
Jack!
This is a statement game.
Everybody's talking about Devante and Aaron and the Jets and this and that.
You know what the Steelers got?
They got a hell of a good team.
They are well coached and they know what's going on.
Defante, they're going to love nothing more.
All TJ Watt is going to love to eat their lunch.
That's true.
Steelers getting points at home.
Let's go Steelers.
And I'm not afraid of the minus eight.
They're trying to scare you.
Yeah, they are.
The Manders at home, minus eight.
Panthers are still bad.
Oh, Deonte, yeah, yeah, for sure.
Don't be scared.
Take, give, lay the points.
Commanders minus eight, Steelers plus a point and a half, Arizona plus two.
Those are my picks.
Man, Jack was just nodding and smiling the whole Pittsburgh thing.
And give us your let's ride because I know you're in with rest this week.
I don't know if he's playing it.
Tomlin won't say.
Oh, come on.
He took the first string practice.
I don't know.
I have no idea what's going to happen.
You know what?
I bet they split it.
Really?
I think they do some weird shit too.
Yeah, that would make more sense.
It doesn't feel Tomliny to just switch off a guy four and two.
Jack had his stats.
What was it like, like, 1,300 yards, 10 touchdowns, one pick?
You're like, oh, we got to get this guy out of here.
Like, what?
That's not a Tomlin move.
Yeah.
As far as an overall quarterback play,
it hasn't been great for fields,
but he's getting into the end zone.
And it doesn't need to be great.
They've got a great defense.
Just don't turn it over.
And that's what he's done.
So I just wonder if they get the ball down the field.
field if he comes in for some drives, I'm not sure.
But it's a good defense.
Oh, Devante and this and that.
Let's go, Jack.
Let's go. Let's ride.
Dean, let's ride. Let's ride.
Yeah.
It could be 5 and 2, and I still don't think they're good.
That's wise.
Those are our picks. You can use them.
Don't use them.
Games already started. It's not too late.
You play in game. It is why Bet 365 is the world's largest sports betting platform.
form download the app today use the promo code fn bonus when you sign up huge range of

looks of a lot of lot of things on there you got any baseball today hockey football this weekend
a lot of a lot of football for the weekend all right good well I don't
Well placed.
Got a lot of chips on the table here.
Love it.
Spread out evenly across the board.
In 2022, Mahomes was an underdog twice.
A one point dog in Tampa Bay,
they won by 10.
That would have been against Brady probably.
As a two and a half point dog in Buffalo,
the chiefs lost by four.
That loss at Buffalo was the only time in Mahomes' career
that a bet on him as an underdog was a losing bet.
Jeez.
11, 1 and 1.
And you didn't put that in your bets.
They were one point underdogs in the Super Bowl.
At the end of that season, Mahomes won by three.
769 winning percentage as an underdog.
It's crazy.
And they just don't look inspiring.
But at the end of the game, if they have the ball and they're down by a score,
it's over.
They're going to do it.
I'm guessing you don't because I didn't.
Andy Reid is the highest paid coach in the NFL.
Do you know what his annual salary is?
They don't publish them, but it sort of gets leaked.
Some of them.
I don't know.
Was he 10 plus?
20.
Yeah, that makes sense.
20 mil for Andy Reid,
highest paid coach.
Because Gruden would have been,
what, five years ago.
We got the 10 times 10?
Yeah.
Because it didn't last too long,
but he's been a while
since he was on TV.
The way the revenues are jumping
and that's poor, absolutely.
Like, without Andy Reed?
Have we seen any more of old
Gruden in the last week or so?
Oh.
Have we seen?
That's got to be out of the weekly summit segment.
I know.
I saw him doing something.
Yeah.
Shredda!
Yeah.
Woo!
Oh, shredding.
Jack Fineson.
Looks like he needs to expend some energy somewhere.
Get around a football team again or something.
Let's do the Pitta Report.
It is a presentation brought to by.
Village Honda.
More flexibility.
More payment options.
Explore Honda's new 28-month stretch lease at Village Honda today,

They present.
Ryan Pinda.
Rhynda.
Pinder report.
All right, fellas, big scuttle butts yesterday is we had a Frank bomb.
Well, let's play it for you because we've talked about it,
but let's hear the words coming out of our NHL insider from Daily Face Sauce Mouth.
Inside NHL Kosa Koso.
And welcome in our NHL insider, Frank Saravali.
Always pleased to see you, my friend.
Let's talk about a Canadian.
That's off to a great start. That would be the Calgary Flames. Four in O. So do you see them adding any pieces as the season goes on?
Yeah, Andy, what a great story. The Flames have been to start this first week and a half. And a lot of people were expecting at some point this year with all the names that have been out the door last year. Hey, they might be moving on from guys. No, it's actually quite the opposite. Not usually much trade activity to start a season. But I'm told Flames GM Craig Conroy has been working the phones in recent days to try and find a center.
to add to the Calgary Flames in their middle six,
preferably someone that fits their age scheme,
preferably, if at all possible in a perfect world,
a right shooting center at that.
So keep an eye on the Calgary Flames.
They're not, they don't have any interest in tearing things down.
They'd actually like to beef up and bolster their lineup,
if at all possible.
But it's tough in the beginning of the season, Andy.
Ooh.
Look, going to do a little beefing and bolstering.
You know.
He's a new note and tell him to just...
Is that the boots in the...
You notice he's a lot more pleasant and upbeat
when he's with Andy Petrillo than he is when he comes on here.
It's night and day.
It is true.
I'm wondering if he has a medication cycle and it's just the wrong day Monday.
Hi, Andy, it's really nice to be here with you as well.
I think the Calgary Flames are a great story.
Gets on here.
I love the Oilers.
Flames are the shits.
We'll talk about it.
There's an article up on Flamesnation.com.
we've had our spin on that topic,
but there's more on the website if you want it.
There it is. Ryan Pike weighing in on what this all means.
Pike. Again, if you're a talented
25-year-old right shot center,
yeah, of course the flames should be interested,
but who's interested in getting rid of that guy?
We'll see.
Standing's still looking good for the cavalry flames,
as alluded to by Andy Petrello.
Well, you can't lose if you don't play, Ryan.
Undefeated.
The Devils have been playing a lot. That's the only reason
that they're ahead of the flames. They've got two losses,
but have played three more games.
I don't know how many of the games they played in Australia.
We do have some Mazi content coming later.
But yeah, safe to say.
By the time we reconvene, fellas,
there'll be another game under the flames belt,
and we'll be getting set for the homestand
that sees Pittsburgh,
Carolina, and Winnipeg.
Three in a row at the dome.
Everyone loving this?
Get your butts to the dome.
Check it out.
See along this fairy tale rolls.
Is it a happy ending?
Or does the carriage turn into a pumpkin
in a midnight. Stay tuned.
Let's all go to the Pittsburgh game.
Anyone work in that? Jack.
God, it's the Pinder report.
You know, we know it's the Flames Dept chart.
Heading into the weekend. We knew the Hansek injury would switch things around.
And we thought potentially, because Mekko would switch wings on the top line and be joined
by right shot at Coronado.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
They did what we said, basically.
Well, you don't want you do here is you see.
The real question is when Kevin Rueh,
Rooney's ready to come back because he would slide into the Justin Kirkland hole on the fourth line.
If so, he was skating.
Sharon Govich is not if you want the updates on those two.
Wearing the yellow.
Yellow contact jersey.
He was wearing a jersey.
It was all yellow.
It was all in yellow.
D pairs look like this retro.
These are your boys here.
Big bad Kevin Ball on the left side.
That second pair with Rasmuse.
And we get the Bean Pahall, young Rett.
on the right side of that third pair.
How have we not called Anderson the moose?
Rasmus.
Rasmuse.
Terrible.
It's been worse, to be fair.
What the hell's Tyson Barry doing up there?
That's the Miramanoff hole.
All right.
Tea bear.
Who do you start in that tomorrow?
Real quick, fellas.
It's been alternating Vladar, Wolf, Ladar, Wolf, just won.
Neither have lost.
Can you lay it out one more time?
Who are you starting tomorrow night?
And what's it been?
Lidar.
Lidar. Wolf?
Lidar.
Wolf.
Cooley.
I'll take a hammer for that.
Trouble.
It's got to be Lidar, right?
I would expect.
It's a pattern, Dean. You notice the pattern.
Let's go to some NHL news and notes.
Dean, this did not miss your radar
and rightfully so.
You love to see it. Five games.
Points in all of them for Philly Broberg.
Some of us love to see it.
Who is climbing the power rankings
and everyone's second favorite GM, Doug Arbstrong, looking rather smart.
Meanwhile, the Oilers GM who said, quote, not worth it, that's also looking a little incorrect.
Let's go to some action last night.
Watch this replay of Connor bleeping Bardard.
Where's he looking and where's the puck going?
And then the play after that.
I thought Terra Vina was going to rifle us like it in the first period on the one tiber.
But no, he knows exactly what he's doing.
Polino was on the top of the crease.
He pulled out.
No look pass to backdoor tab.
That's a peripheral.
It's a good peripheral.
Fresh.
Perth.
Yeah, kids looking pretty comfy in season.
Open the old club face there.
Yes.
Perfect.
Good stuff there.
Slate tonight, lighter.
Let's take a peek.
Dean, we had a big one yesterday.
Remember that October 17th?
Keep talking to me.
This is the 18th.
It's the Matthew Bunting Bowl.
in Pittsburgh tonight, Jack.
That's a big one for you.
Also, Nijilkevich, if he was healthy,
he's played for both teams.
Shocks and Jets in Winnipeg.
And the Aves, they're facing the Ducks,
who, this is clearly a lopsided mismatch,
except the Ducks actually won a game this year,
multiple games, the Aves,
well, we're waiting.
That's your slight tonight.
You don't want to be,
uh, was the coach in Colorado?
Jared Beddner.
I'm like, Beddner.
Deadna.
I got to break this guy's name in the goaltending slot.
Joe, Joe.
GM, give me better players.
I have them.
They're all hurt or suspended.
Even he would be like, can I do that Wolf Lidar thing?
Can those?
I'll take that.
I'll take that right now.
Yes.
Georgie 6 and Annam.
Eustace.
Hey, you know what?
Good luck, Colorado.
It's better when you're good.
You guys are exciting.
You're a fun team to watch.
I don't want a little adversity.
I think we're going to get some good McKinnon media clips moving forward.
I did see McKinnon snap that stick the other day.
He does run hot.
Stop show, yeah.
Do you remember the year before they won the cup?
Everyone was like, oh, Nathan, you're such a great player.
Congrats on this and that.
And he's like, we haven't won shit.
Yeah.
This guy, I didn't realize he had that angle.
He does.
Yeah.
Wranglers in Henderson, the Vegas Farmer team, the Golden Knights,
and the Silver Knights.
There it is tonight.
Dean, that's your boy right there.
I believe that's a Dreddon Hunt.
And meanwhile, you're going to love this one.
Your two passions in life collide at the dome on Saturday night
as the Calgary Hitman have wrestling and hitman.
Yes, they do.
This is a Rob Kerr special rate here, friends.
The dungeon wrestling at the dome and the game 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Love those jerseys.
Didn't you go to this once?
No.
I took my kids once.
Yeah, you went. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think we had the kid hockey
and it happened to the game and people
were just ganging up on curd, bloodied him.
It was ugly to watch.
He got his head shaved. Yeah, it was tough.
You know what? I think he fell victim to a
sleeper hold. It is a sleeper?
No. I think he got somebody put the old sleeper hold on him
and they got his head shaved.
I saw your boy, Bert Gelling a couple days ago.
My boy.
Well, Bert.
You always call him your boy.
It's my boy too.
It's our boy.
I just feel like I got a lot of boys today.
Yeah, birds, my boy.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Young fellas got two of the room.
How about this home and home this weekend?
Dinos and Cougars, a little crotch-og classic.
It's at FCA arenas tonight.
And then I believe back at FDB, Father Dave Bauer, tomorrow.
Cougars in town?
The Cougars erased a three-nothing deficit with less than four minutes left against UBC last weekend.
Yes, they did.
You kidding me?
So that's some hockey for you, if you like, in town.
Justin Fields, not good enough, Jack.
Not good enough.
1,300 yards.
He's going to get pulled.
That's the story in the NFL.
Stamps at Tycats.
Bo.
Whoa.
This season.
End this season.
Get it over with.
Come back at PJ Walker next year and you've got my attention.
End it.
Jake Meyer, we're going to miss you.
Just kidding.
See ya.
He's a free agent.
She, you're hard on.
It's been awful.
Ran Bo Levi out of here?
No.
Sure didn't.
That was someone else at this table,
Rhett. Bo's going for the headlines.
Rhett?
Bowes in this chat.
I should have deleted it and lost the Grey Cup six minutes ago.
I should have deleted it, but no.
And then you wrote like, ah, love will heal all.
Love you guys.
And then you just left the chat.
Like, what's going on, Red?
I do something along those lines.
Not a chance.
I can find it.
Love doesn't heal all.
Oh, there's something out of love.
Love will keep us together.
All you finds a way.
Yeah.
last day of the CPL schedule is tomorrow
four games all at the same time
every single game has playoff implications
Cabs want to clinch second place
they can do so with a win in Winnipeg against Valor
why can't this be love?
Or they lose you don't like that
and athletic wins they've slide into the four hole
rather than the two spot okay
what's love got to do with it?
It's a banger, I'll tell you that.
Okay.
Tobias Worshefsky also, he's one goal back of the golden boot,
and all the games will be on YouTube tomorrow.
Nikolai Borchewski, the former Leaf is back.
Jumping up and down like Folino.
There it is.
Look at those games.
That's a good slate.
The game winner against the tree back in 19.
Big for which saw Carducci, Camargo, top of the table.
Tommy yesterday at Pizza Pigout.
Showouts to those friends.
Oh, the Pizza Pigout.
Yeah, they were well-behaved waters only.
Getting ready, fly today to Winnipeg.
All business.
They want second place, Dean.
Love that.
Retin is tailgate buddies.
I see watermelons.
I see tailgating.
This has to be riders fans.
Let's go to it, Jack.
Although that does kind of look like a Cowboys jersey,
but it is a watermelon.
This guy might need a trip to our dental dean.
That's...
And it's Cairo.
That's hard on the neck.
Oof.
He bounces up right away,
but I feel like once that booze wears off.
Jeez.

Are you at the wife carrying event in Tennessee?
We're a wife carrying race and a new remain.
We come each year for the fun.
There's really a lot chance of us waiting.
We hop over the hurdle or climb over the hurdle that we're leaning on right now.
Around a short track, a pool of water over a large amount of dirt obstacle and then across the finish line.
And pretty much everybody cheers everybody else on and it's a blast.
We'll do this.
to see with your room.
This is back.
And there's different ways of holding on.
People do wear belts.
And the women hang on to the belt,
the man's belt.
All right.
This is your idea,
hobby horse.
Your idea.
It didn't have to be a five-minute segment.
You got a renovation at your house?
Maybe a little.
Probably going to need one.
Interior re-designing.
Brian, what are you doing?
Get rid of the chandelier.
And look what this gentleman's done.

Yeah, we've got four wins.
Four wins.
We are not going to make the playoffs.
I don't care.
I don't care if we make playoffs or not.
We might win the Stanley Cup.

You fucking looking good, my man.
Keep on your might.
Damn right.
Just end it.
Foreign O, they're not going to make the playoffs.
I don't care.
Bam.
Jeez.
That was, what, June?
When did the cup final end?
He's been celebrating for three, four months.
That's been marinating for a while, that one.
Shut it.
He's been on the piss.
The wife's not of them.
He's just been celebrating.
Whatever it was there.
Wife's not happy.
Well, there you go.
Good to hear.
Welcome.
And then to some of the year, I didn't really know what that was.
Which?
He said, there's the puck, the guy with the puck in the ear.
So remember that oilers fan who was like, oh, I just love the Oilers.
Oh, is that what it was?
Yeah, right, right, right, right.
And Ozzy Brad just dropped a strip off of him.
That's right.
He had a big year.
He's what he called the puck in the car.
Ah, that's right.
That's right.
He doesn't forget.
Oh, my goodness.
That's a lot.

I still get, you know, brushed back by by Ozzy Brad.
You know to be ready.
You're digging in.
You got your, all right, here he comes.
He's going with both barrels.
And still, you're kind of, holy, she's talking about McGa.
You know, weather the storm a little bit.
What a guy.
Coming into summer there.
We'll get out of the man cave, get some sun.
Is that what it is?
Yeah, it's the mid-spring now.
Getting hot down there.
We still haven't gotten there either, Ed.
You're afraid everything.
You can't go there.
I mean, you were close.
Closer than any of us.
Yeah, it was like a three-hour flight away.
I was like, what's the date to the 18th?
So November 1st, it's coming up, right?
Jeez.
November 1st, Vena Nova Market Mall.
Lab-grown diamonds, the lab-grown diamond specialists in this city of Calgary.
They've been doing it for years.
We've been talking about them for years.
You all have been going there for years.
We've been buying the products for years.
And now it's, oh, yeah, this lab growing diamonds.
Exactly.
Thing.
Exactly.
They were located in Stephen Avenue Place.
It's downtown, maybe tricky to get to.
Market Mall, parking for days.
Huge spot.
They're going to have a brand new location, and it opens up on November 1st.
Vina Nova would like to thank the Barn burner community again for the continued support,
easier access, increased hours.
It's a win, win, win for everybody.
Lab grown diamonds,
same chemical composition and crystal structure
as an earthmine diamond, just less dirty.
Those dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty diamonds.
Three dirty, sir.
You want to give that to a loved one?
How about something that's pristine
and made with love and care
in a spotless laboratory?
You really sold me on it.
You said dirty three times.
I'm already...
think about who's out there digging through the dirt.
What kind of riff-raff, hillbillies,
got dirt all under their nails.
They're in there, digging away.
Oh, I'm going to find some diamonds.
You know, again, that's, go ahead, spend your money on that, I guess.
Or Justin, Labcoats.
Think of a laboratory, well-lit, bunts and burners and beakers and all kinds of stuff.
What's that over there?
Perfection.
Lab-grown diamonds.
Well, it's...
I don't know if I can pay all that much more
for these perfect diamonds.
I'll just take the dirty, dirty ones
because they got to be cheaper.
But hang on, Dean.
Flip it.
The savings are with the lab grown
that are often better
than the dirty-dirties.
Vienova.com.
You can still do your shopping online.
The doors will swing open.
November 1st.
at market mall.
Love it.
November 1st is a couple months before Christmas.
For Christmas, you buy gifts for people.
Love months.
You know how that goes.
Yeah.
That's how that goes.
Probably did all we need to do today.
Oilers beat the Predators last night.
They kind of look back since those fights against Philly, I'll tell you.
Yeah.
Big boys.
It was Luke Shen, his thousandth game.
Wow.
wondered if he'd get there.
It felt like maybe the tread had come off the tire a little bit
and then, hey, this is the type of guy.
You could use these kind of guys.
Good for him.
J.T. Miller had the game winner for the Canucks.
They get their first win, moved to 1-1 and 2,
beating Florida in overtime.
It's the 10th OT winner for Miller.
Passes our buddy Moe,
Brenna Morrison for second all-time
Canucks franchise history,
Daniel.
who's one of the twins.
He has 16.
Which one?
Are you sure it was in Henrik or in Daniel's Jersey?
How do you know for sure?
It was one of the twins.
Right.
JT's going to get that record.
Yeah, yeah.
Why he's six-way to.
Florida's still no bark-off.
Yeah, that's not a deal.
Injured in the, what, preseason?
Can we play the Tampa,
the Tampa vid from last night?
At home to Vegas, they were, remember they were the noodles pick.
These guys are sneaky.
These guys are sneaky good.
They made the circuit shove trade, but they got some good players back.
They bring in Gensel.
Just get ready for these guys.
So this is at home to Vegas trailing late stages of the third.
They're watching for Bass Silevsky to make his way towards the lady bigs that passed inside the line.
Here's Hagle.
Hangle with a shot.
Final minute of recognizing is Pote Gerav.
Didn't get all of it.
On that shot at him, and he scores from the corner.
Nikita Kutjarov.
54.1 seconds left, Kuturov.
Two in the game.
He's got six goals already.
And an assist in three games.
Not bad.
Three games?
The other one hurricaneed out, yes.
Yeah.
Jeez.
J.J. Moser, who came across along with Geeky and that Cirgachev trade,
he had a goal and two assists last night.
So yeah, three and all are the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Got a quick flames note for you.
Kevin Rooney was in a contact jersey today after the yellow.
It was all yellow non-contact jersey yesterday.
And Tyson Berry is patrolling the right side of the top pair with
the whole bear.
McKenzie Weiger.
So maybe it's a night off for Miro.
Sick.
Still hung over.
Is he out there?
Is he on the ice?
They're in Canmore having those.
Mere Mano.
The Sabres.
One, four, and one on the season.
Is it 14 this year or 15 this year?
I think it's 14.
They lost 6-4 to Columbus.
Devin Levi, 6 on 25.
I don't know why I went, 6 on 25.
It's going to be so good.
Levi and on the other side,
Oka-Lukkah, both, three starts,
11 goals against.
Tough start.
Yeah,
Ukapuka, I thought
was going to take over
that nuts because he was really,
really good the second half of last year.
Levi, they did the stupid thing
and just said,
well, he's the savior
and he's going to do it all for us.
Go play a full year in the A.
Why is that not happening?
Dustin Wolf's got three of those.
Washington had in Dallas
their first loss of the season.
There's a three, two caps,
win. Tom Wilson.
Still no other goals.
Fine.
Goals and three straight for Tom Wilson.
Four and one are the Dallas stars.
The L.A. Kings beat Montreal four to one in this game.
Now, you know Lane Hudson, have you heard the name Lane Hudson?
That's a cowboy.
Young, yeah, that's right.
He's in Yellowstone.
Young defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens.
Mike Matheson injured in the first period.
Hudson, a rookie, this would be, what is third or fourth game, played 30 minutes last night.
He was dash four a couple of games ago, too.
Welcome to the fire, son, like baptism.
Yeah.
Jacob Marks from our old friend.
You're good.

Heard a shut out late into the third, if I'm correct?
Yeah.
How else Jersey doing?
Pretty darn good.

He plays for the Devils.
Yeah.
He had seven goals last year in 76 games.
he's got five and seven to start this season.
Lots of shots and hits too. Fantasy stood.
What the H?
Another old friend, Cam Talbot, allowed five on 19.
Still in the league.
The New York Rangers who in five, two,
Artemey Panarin, three goals and a helper.
He's had a wild start, 11 points in four games.
Not bad.
First Rangers player to have multiple points in each of their first four games of the season.
We saw the Broberg assist on the Jake Neighbors goal.
Jake Neighbors, good local guy, eh?
Yeah, there's your boy.
1-0.
Joel Holfer came up with the 1-0 shutout win, 34 saves.

They win their home opener.
And your buddy, Chandler-Stevenson, played in game 500.
I've hunt as the Seattle Cracken beat the Flyers six to four.
Flyers have been on the road,
they hold,
they haven't been at home yet.
Really?
They're dying to go home.
They just want to go home.
They're going home.
They're going home.
Cracking them off to a good start.
This could be a good one tomorrow night.
A quiet one tonight.
Flames are going to play at some point when they're done shotgun and beers out at
Gemma.
Whatever.
I have to get all the fresh air when the shotgun is a little beer.
That's true.
It's also training, Dean.
Take a look at the schedule, AI.
Crackin.
Then a little, you know, look at it.
There's the homestand we talked about.
Good play the home games.
Is that the game we're going to, Jack?
Yeah, Pittsburgh, we're all going.
It's up Dean.
They're all going.
What day?
Tuesday.
And I don't like the sound of that, no.
Jack.
Walkins had a big start to the year, too, hadn't they?
Puckhug.
11 points.
And the scoring.
Yeah, he's ripped roaring.
It's a puck hog.
Is it?
Mm-hmm.
So there you go.
Where are we out on this?
Maybe I just won't bring it up.
Jack, Football Sunday thing.
Probably just should have kept my mouth shut.
I just thought that.
I think he knows where he lives and I think he'll be there,
whether you wanted or not.
Give him a little window, Dean.
Give him just a afternoon window, morning window,
prime time, give him a window.
Yeah, I mean, it's not like I'm not going to be here watching football.
But, you know, carve out the time you need for.
I decided to go for a hike instead of watching Red Zone.
He was watching Red Zone.
I was debating going south this weekend.
I don't have to work.
Montana?
Yeah.
Do it.

When is it a bad idea to go to Montana?
I'm sorry.
Claire's all baffling us here.

You're like, oh, it's a long weekend.

What are you talking about?
And then you don't go.

He's cooked for you.

Who sings that song?
John Dennell.

And who else?
Steely Dan.
