Huidot actually looked pretty good last night. It's frustrating when you see him having good games because it actually shows the talent exists. It's just the GAF, the give-a-leap, and the decision-making isn't consistent. That's handsome Danzerie. He's giving him more credit than I will at this point. I don't know if the GAF is any good,

and I don't know if he can keep up and do it. He went hard to the net. factor and he's being such a non-factor for such a long time that it's just it's it's glossed over so when he does have a game where you notice him like oh wow and really it's like the guys should pay 10 and a half million this league you should be saying oh wow every night you don't once a month you don't get to kind of flash that you're decent and think that no I it's sad in a lot of ways I can't imagine he wants to be this irrelevant no I don't think he's trying to We want them to be this irrelevant.

And that's what it is at this point. You could put him in the stands and I wouldn't know it unless you actually put the game or the lines up on the TV. I wouldn't notice. Yeah. Not ideal. But not surprising. This is what year four? You have nine?

First year was the last year of his old deal. And the rest are an eight year contract that they signed. And there's no inclinations that this is. It can't get better. Like it's, it is. It feels that way. How old is he? 32.

Foof. I think. Yeah. The Uyghur just turned 32. I'll look them up. Yeah. It's, uh, it's troubling. I, I know you hated that extension at the time.

You just didn't know what you were going to get. There wasn't a, if we had, it was an emotional reaction. to players not signing in evidence or not signing in Calgary, excuse me. And everyone kept saying, everyone kept saying, first of all, I thought everyone was like, this is a great trade. And I was like, it's actually a pretty good trade. Why are we rushing out to sign these guys? And then they did.

And everyone's reason was, well, they're really good players, first of all. Okay. Do they fit in was my thought. Yeah. And then the other side of the reason they were signing was because, well, we have to prove that players want to be here. And I'm like, that doesn't prove F all. You're overpaying them.

That proves your signing bad. proves that you're signing guys in a desperation. And so when, and I always felt that at that point, the rebuild was on. And the recognition should have been made. Not chase, scratch a clock as you see it all the time. It doesn't work ever.

My other thought was, that was a really good trade. And now Huberto could be traded again for even a war. And if they hadn't resigned with that ridiculous contract, they could have. They could have noticed that this isn't going to work. Let's trade him. You would have got another first at that point.

Probably, yeah. You would have. I think so. He was a rental. He was $115 points the year before. And everyone was just going to say, oh, it's just not a fit in Calgary. It's not a fit in Calgary. I think Darrell was here.

Next, he'd have gone somewhere and you'd have gotten another first easy. Are you kidding? You're telling me a 115 point winger? After three bad months? are five million bucks that you couldn't have traded them for at least a first? I think you're right. That option was off the table the moment they signed him to that bio-proof contract. It is, uh, now here's the thing.

You could critique and say that's a bad contract that's killing them. The other guy they signed before you started the season, like McKenzie Weger at six and a quarter is, I know he's not having a great year, but that's a song. Like Jake Wallman's going to make a lot more money than he is on the AVA. The whole point of it was you didn't have. to rush. Agreed. And you know what? Everyone hates that trade. The trade was fine. Trade was fine. Great trade. Actually, the position that you were in. Yeah. And the other part of it is like that first rounder could have been really, really, really, really high. And instead it's

picked 32. Yeah. So that's kind of suer's you a bit. That's what happened in the O'Reilly deal to Buffalo. They got Tage Thompson first. And that ended up being pick number 32 because St. Louis won the cup that year. You can't, but whatever. Like you got a first and you got a top pair of defenseman and a guy that was coming off an incredible year. Did anyone have any inkling that

he was going to turn into a 50 something point player in Calgary? I did not have any inkling that that was going to have. My inkling was, you're coming from Florida to a team that's... It's the opposite side of the universe. And you're talking about market, pressure, coaching style.

coaching style, like to come into a subtle system. Life style. Everything's the exact, it's a 180 from Florida. Yuberto was and is a 60 point player. He always was. 115 points was the outlier season. Besides that, he's had 96 season. So definitely an overreaction.

Great observation ret in hindsight. No, he said that at the time too. I will say this. Jonathan Yuberto was a point-per-game player in almost every single year in Florida. He's not been close to that once in. Calgary. So you're overstating your point. Say he's a 60 point guy. It's like, well,

115 point was a record sitting year. Yeah, we knew that was the career year. But you thought if you're getting a hundred point player, amazing. I'm looking at it. Just amazing. I feel like he was not a point point in game guy. Uh, 48 games, 31 points, 69 games, 28.79 games, 54, 76, 59, 82, 62, 69, 82, 62. miles yeah one three of his last four years there three of us four of us last five years there were

yeah point per game plus that's repeat which is fine he was still coming here at the right age the trade was good yeah it was the ridiculous contract that you rushed out to do in proof emotional guys want to play in calgary we showed you I mean do you still have pulled up there what's he at this year for 10 and a half and a sweetheart deal and give you everything you want.

Yeah, guess what? Yep, they do want to play in Calgary. This year, 46 games, 22 points. That's crushing. Because last year was 62 points in 81 games, and you're like, boy, if he could add five or six more, it's respectable. You can live with that. It's not what you're hoping for, but okay, 22 points. He's on pace for 30-something.

30-something. 30-something. Shut up. Not ideal.
