Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, good day, good day, good day. It is another edition of Barnburner. You're showing me something. I can't, well, I can't do it on. I won't read it. Very, well, it's not anything. It's not, you know. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Wow. How about that? Wouldn't that be something? Jeez. Holy, holy. Big things happening soon here. Jack. We're not going to let you read that, but you got to trust us.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Huge. Huge. Welcome to another Barnburner. This show is a presentation. of bet three six five it's been a fun few days with the old bet three six five i have there's these parlays that they're just like hey want to try this won't you like yes i had a guy the other day points you points there field with a point and 30 shots for the caps sure it's been a nice little run here now not all runs last forever but we know it adds a little spice there when it's uh
Starting point is 00:01:02 when it's six two florida you might have already turned it off but maybe you need that second Nate Schmidt goal at a million to one. Hey, who knows? I use the promo code Nation when you're signing up, get the app today. Go get it, do it. Also, you can join the program today. If you get involved on the super chats,
Starting point is 00:01:20 what's super chat? Well, just add a monetary amount to your comment, and that'll get you to jump to cue, so to speak, rather than fighting about the curve of the brims of our hats or yelling about the legacy of former flames coaches or Oilers players. Or Clark Will.
Starting point is 00:01:36 or clerk will you could just throw a little money on it we'll actually get it on the show which is a good everyone curves used to be a thing curves stick curves penalties i wasn't sure where you were got jack curves are still a thing right so you guys are still like curves title their own depending on how curvy is your curve jack how do you feel about curves we're about your unit size what about what do you like like a like more curve or less We were talking about super chats with curve, curve chat. Finish that tangent. I don't know what I was.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Curve stick. Oh, yeah. Penalties. Martyr-Mix-orley. That's right. Stick measurements. Yes. Those ass hat assistant trainers or kids that were wandering around.
Starting point is 00:02:22 You got the blow torch bending in it. Yeah. We're in San Jose on the sticks are on the wall in the hallway. And there's this kid that works the room. It is. A little clubby. Walking by real slow, just. I was like, hey, you can F off.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Again, Liz, like, give me my power play one, the illegal one. I got a rip one here. Come on, come on. So whether it's about curves or curved sticks or Jackson unit, get your super chats in, it all is in a benefit of the youth centers of Calgary, YCC. Kids, not all of them have easy upbrings in a safe place with a warm meal, friends, activities and a chance to be around some great mentors, including some Calgary flames that have dropped by this year.
Starting point is 00:03:07 That's what the youth centers of Calgary doing in two communities in our city. That's where the super chat dough goes. Nice of us to do that, but nice of you to donate. We're really just the middleman. We're not doing anything. We're not taking a cut. That's not sure. We read it.
Starting point is 00:03:23 We read it. We're facilitating you helping the youth centers. I don't want to thank my teachers for teaching me to read so I can do this. You want to? Big thanks. Big thanks. Let's get into the action from last night, shall we? Wasn't a day off? It was not an off day in the NHL schedule.
Starting point is 00:03:41 We do that for our great friends at McLeod Law. Great to see Shane and Austin and a bunch of the crew. Peter Klein texted me. He was on a secret international mission, he told me. Oh. So I think he's a double agent. I might just blown his cover. Yeah, you weren't supposed to say.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Maybe he wasn't. Maybe he was just. Maybe that's part of his cover. Maybe he's got a cover. Maybe he's got a cover for his cover. Yeah. Who knows? Peter Klein, 403, 254, 3864.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Why are you going to call Peter? Well, he's the personal injury guy. Did you know that he's also the go-to guy for your disability insurance claims? You know that disability insurance, the long-term stuff you're paying into? If your company's fighting you on it, contact Peter. Get those benefits that you paid for and you deserve. He'll get you that piece of mind back. It's the peace of mind you paid for.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Also, Shane King and the litigation and dispute resolution group. and any other legal needs, be sure to go find them. MacLeod-law.com or on social media at McLeod Law, LLP. Okay, so last night we had game two between New Jersey, Carolina. We had game two, Battle of Ontario.
Starting point is 00:04:43 We had game one, finally, last series, to get going between Florida and Tampa, and we had game two between Minnesota and Vegas, the latest start time in the history of things. Of things? That's right. Holy shanky. I'll be honest, my kid noticed
Starting point is 00:04:58 how late it was really so yeah carolina game started at four mountain it did they played does anyone watch yeah no one's watching i saw that at the gym like this game's on yeah they're just throwing it on at random times because no one gives us shit my my kid we went to the doctor and checked in everything's great don't worry and then got back home he's like what the first period's already over what are we doing here that's i did five how's the first period over so we had we had a crazy early game and a crazy late game. I wouldn't have watched any of
Starting point is 00:05:29 Carolina, New Jersey. It was 2-0 0-0-1 Carolina. It looked like they were going to put that to sleep. But I had the Jarvis and Aho Parley on the show yesterday. And wasn't I thrilled to see Shane Gosses bear with a little spinorama to set up Jarvis to the empty netter? That's all I cared about.
Starting point is 00:05:47 I do have one highlight for you. There was a big goal in this game. It was Jordan Martinuk, the guy that yelled Svetchnikov in the warm-ups. Mr. Svetnikov. This is a shorthy and this is a backbreaker for the devils because it's one one. You've actually played pretty well.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I don't know if we have audio or not on this, but Zink! Arthing's going on in rally. Beat the devil. That's a snipe. He's been one of those role guys that you're just like, yep, could use a guy like that. Well, like a bigger Blake Coleman. Not a problem, but it might be a benefit in a long run.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Again, I don't think anyone's paying attention. to this series. No, not at all. It's, it's Carolina. One hell of a team. Yeah, the Keynes just out shoot you out,
Starting point is 00:06:36 chance you, they get enough goaltending. Freddie Anderson was great last night. And the devils are just, they were limping in and have lost Luke Hughes. Yeah. And Brennan Dillon. They're cooked.
Starting point is 00:06:46 They're cooked, as the kids say. Jack, now here's the thing, when you're cooked, that's bad, right? I believe so. But what if you're cooking,
Starting point is 00:06:53 Jack? Like, oh, I'm cooking right now. Oh, it's good. So even though it's like the same, cooked as bad, cooking is good. Yeah, you're cooking.
Starting point is 00:07:01 That's good. That's like when you love to see it. Yeah. It's just something bad, but you hate to see it. You're like, well, that's bad too. It's two different words, Ryan. I'm really confused about the memes and the kids. We'll get back to on that, Jack.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Just ignore them. Carolina's up to rip. It feels over. It really does. Felt over before it started. Felt over before it started. I think they were probably the heaviest favorite in round one. I'm trying to remember, think of something that would be more lopsided.
Starting point is 00:07:27 I think they probably give the Habs, blues, and wild, better odds than I would imagine. Jersey. Jersey also finished behind Calgary in the standings. And we're a three seed. One of the worst teams since the four nations. Well, they were a Stanley Cup favorite going in. They were. They were like top four. It was like Edmonton, Florida, Jersey. Those are the heavy favorites. Okay. I guess. Dinged up. No Jack Hughes. Once they trade Jack and Luke to Vancouver. then no leas peterson's going to be great there real good next game
Starting point is 00:08:02 ottawa toronto this has been good ratings were pretty big i saw about two and a half million canadians watch game one that was on sunday another game uh ottawa was not disciplined enough in game one much better in this one is it weird that the leaps kind of look like cold-blooded killers right now or is it just sends or is it too early they're going to blow it oh i think barubis got them it's a different feel I mean, they bring in a coach that you would argue is, like he won with the biggest rag tag group of the last 20 years,
Starting point is 00:08:37 that blues club. He was an absolute blue collar, intimidating, tough as nails guy. And you bring that guy into a team where the rep was just like, oh, this super soft skilled core. Yep.
Starting point is 00:08:49 It's worked so far. It is. It's, they look like, yeah, like you said, what is a stone cold killer? Like,
Starting point is 00:08:57 yeah, they look. they look dialed in and ready. They're like, yeah, yeah, we'll trade, you know, nothing happened in here, nothing happened in there. Powerplay, score. Like, they scored less than 15 seconds in. They don't look intimidated. They don't look flustered.
Starting point is 00:09:09 They don't look anything. They look seasoned. Yeah. I hate it. Yeah, I kind of hate it, too. I was hoping this would be a very heated series. We still have a chance for that. To Ottawa, because I don't think of the leaves.
Starting point is 00:09:21 You got all the picks back here, by the way. You got all the picks. Jack's already come in and scratched straight at his Tampa pick. put in Florida. What a cheater. It's a good move, Jack. You actually pick Florida against Tampa, didn't you? Yeah, I went Florida and then I
Starting point is 00:09:36 was going to go Leafs and then I went Ottawa because I wanted the brothers to play. You did want the script. That's right. I remember that now. Let's go to a couple highlights from this one. Game winning goal. Let's do the Warner Whiteboard thing
Starting point is 00:09:50 because I don't think this player had a good game. In fact, many said he did not have a good game. But this is a big one. This is the final few minutes of the contest excuse me this is an overtime what am i saying uh overtime domi is just crossing the blue line you're going to take a drop pass whoop whoop soft a bit fortunate too but domi is lucky to get the the puck to slide through the other the back checking senator um also he's lucky that senator didn't have any interest in hitting
Starting point is 00:10:23 yes this is part you always with these kids we're watching the light game last night just as a And I'm talking to my boys watching the game. I'm like, finish him. Finish him. Two guys. Finish them. And not just on this play. Like all the play.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I'm like calling out all the times where it's like, if you just eliminate and play the man, this does not happen. There's a reach. There's a flyby. Like, why do you need the puck right there? That's true. Boom. When you're, to your point, like, okay, so you knock the puck off a stick. Now what?
Starting point is 00:10:56 Now what? Like it's not like you're on a break. No, you're hitting the wrong way anyway. Like your job is to eliminate that guy so we can't shoot. And because you don't play the man, you have now created the opportunity where he may get by. And he did twice to two different senators. It's Leif's team. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:14 It's fine because there will be a level of excitement. Oilers, game seven, I have no issues. We're happy to watch. Right? Yes. I could. I want to take it to the place where it's like, do you remember? remember how many years we just said those guys will never win about the Washington capitals.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Yeah. They're just not going to run to Sid in the second round every year. Awesome team in the regular season. Lots of stars. Not going to win. You can't win. We've said that guy's not going to win about a lot of different guys. We've said about a lot of different teams.
Starting point is 00:11:47 And it's just you need reps. And eventually at some point, you don't have a Nealander with migraines. And Austin Matthews heard and your hot goalie gets run over and your power play goes ice cold. Now, there is something to be said for, you know, having been there a bunch and not being freaked out by the stage. And I think that's part of the least. That's part of it. But they're also like last year, too. They're averaging like 300 goals an hour on their power play.
Starting point is 00:12:10 They got like five power play goals in the first 20 seconds. Like that's, that's a nice fortunate run. They look. I said it. Seasoned. They look dialed in and ready to go. Now, someone's going to come out of Florida and play them. And that's going to be a tougher test than Ottawa.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Totally. Or Ottawa is going to get the shit together. You want to drink out of the cup. Guess what? Yeah. Might have to win a few games and beat some good teams. Going to have to beat some good teams on the way. I'm not sure if you can just hand to pick.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Okay, we'll go Ottawa and well, Jersey's beat up. Let's have Jersey next. Maybe we get the habs because that'll be fun. And they're not. Habs will be war out. Do you think we can play? West, maybe once we get out west, we don't want. The blues?
Starting point is 00:12:53 Like, sorry. Good teams. You can do that at Bet 365. Yeah. Fair. I want to show you this, Stelars, getting chippy in this contest. He's been a really nice story for them. We know Wohl had a nice playoffs last year. Then he got hurt. But like this is, there's some nasty here. And he's huge. He's like 6, 6, 6, 6, 7. I don't mind it at all. This is fine. As long as you're playing.
Starting point is 00:13:21 All that's fine. Now, watch this. This is finally the ref's like, all right, that's an. The boys don't kill that off of him, right? Well, they should. This is the physicality. That's physicality. And it's only good if he plays well, though, because if he's getting scored on, everyone's going,
Starting point is 00:13:38 oh, he's distracted and he's not focused. Yeah, Stuart Skinner, don't do that tonight, okay? Because you're not playing well. Yeah, it's not going to. Calvin Pinkard, whoever it is. Next game, let's go to Florida, Tampa. I was really excited to settle into this,
Starting point is 00:13:53 but it felt over pretty quick. Playoff Sam Bennett made it won nothing with a nice redirect out of mid-air. I'm going to playoff Sam Bennett. Sam Bennett, very good. and it was just a pile on from there. You got some Kachukh goals for us, Jackie? I got both of them.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Let's go Kachuk real quick before Dregs joins us. Kachuk, Kchuk. Yeah, everyone, oh, is he going to play? Is he going to play? Of course he's playing. It's playoffs. Zink 1. His hands in tight.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Come on, Vaselowski. You're pretty heavy on Tampa. It's one game, though. Don't overreact. These two teams have gone to the final. When's the last time? The last five years, one of the two is going to be used. Tampa got not bubbled.
Starting point is 00:14:33 at home at a playoff game. Probably last year, Florida, I guess. But yeah, another one and tight. That's the same one. Same one. Okay. We'll get to some of the other action. Minnesota Vegas was quite good later.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Minnesota actually played really, really well. And then I'd just survive a push from Vegas at the end. But before we do that, let's get to our NHL insider. On the Crystal Waters guest hotline, usually a Friday guest. The playoffs are messing everything up.
Starting point is 00:15:01 All are scheduled, apparently turned around, but we're happy to get them anytime we can. Crystal Waters, your crystal clear choice for all residential plumbing, heating, and cooling services with over 23 years of experience and 30,000 projects completed. You know, you can trust these guys, focusing on safety, comfort, and product longevity. Yeah, make them the people you trust to take care of your house, right? Crystal Waters also solutions for all budgets, including financing and affordable payment plans. Crystal Waters, plumbing, and heating is your crystal clear choice for home comfort.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Let's get to Darren Dregger. Dregs on a Wednesday. We love to see it. How are you, sir? Hold on. I just want to make sure I get a good picture of this. Send it to the Oilers. Oh, good. Go to the Oilers, Dregs.
Starting point is 00:15:50 We'll get to the Oilers. We're going to start with some flames, if you don't mind. No, I'm just, I'm looking at the Los Angeles, King's Sweeters. And I'm, yeah. But you got another screen going on? No, no, no, we don't know what you're talking about here. Yeah, okay. Green screen, Drake, sorry.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Okay, okay, okay. High budget. You've up the budget I see this week. Okay, I get it. Real quick, you broke some news this morning regarding the Calgary Flames, so it's a good place to lead. Ryan Huska is going to be part of Team Candace coaching staff. He will be, yeah, he'll be an assistant, associate,
Starting point is 00:16:21 call him whatever he want. He'll be on the bench with Dean Everson of the Columbus Blue Jackets. And, you know, Evanson and Huska will round out the rest of their staff. but I like this. I think that, you know, you guys would probably agree. Huska did a nice job with the Calgary Flames this year. And I'm always happy to see new faces on international benches. Because historically, you know, Team Canada, Team USA,
Starting point is 00:16:49 they go with the history, especially from a management perspective, the guys that, you know, have the international experience, international success and all that. So when you see fresh faces get involved, like Brian Huska from a coaching perspective and Dean Eveson, I think it just creates a wider umbrella for bigger opportunity down the road, right? Like now that Huska is involved at the coaching level, let's assume Canada is going to have some success in Sweden. They always seem to. And I think they're going to have a good team.
Starting point is 00:17:20 I think we're going to see some interesting games pop up here in the near future. why doesn't that open the door to opportunity down the path, right? You know, you've got the World Cups, two of them. You know, the Olympic bench is primarily picked already. But, you know, hey, I think this is a good opportunity for Huska, for Eveson, and for anyone who gets the invite. And it doesn't matter if you're a coach or a player here, guys. You know, you get invited to join Team Canada.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Just say yes. Or Team USA. Just say yes. because there is influence on what, you know, the Olympic larger group might look like and likewise for the World Cup's down the road. So this is a shot in the arm for Ryan Huska, deserve. You don't go to Australia when Lanny calls you and asks you to go.
Starting point is 00:18:09 Austria or Australia? With Max Finneganoff. Oh, yeah. That's what you did instead of go to represent Canada, right? Yeah. Well, I'll tell you what. Like, you know, not to throw players under the bus, but, you know, Ryan Suzuki's had a wonderful, wonderful year with the Montreal Canadians. Had a pretty good night the other night, game one against the Washington Capitals, right?
Starting point is 00:18:32 Let's see how he does tonight. For whatever reason, his schedule, his off-season schedule, has never jived with the men's worlds. So he's been invited to play for Team Canada two, three times, maybe more than that. And look, sometimes it's valid, you know. You have a family wedding or there's something that you just can miss. Or you're the 18th choice. For sure. But I think the messaging was...
Starting point is 00:18:59 On D or overall? Yeah. Well, I think the messaging prior to the Four Nations face off was, you know what? You've had a good year. Maybe you would have been in the mix. But this is why when you get that call from Canada, you answer that calling. You go, yep. I'm in.
Starting point is 00:19:17 I don't disagree with you. And I wasn't going to be part of any Olympic team in my while. Well, I did have a wild dream once. I thought I was going to go to knock. Rob Zamner can do it. Anyway, sure. But all the GMs or teams are behind this in all. Right?
Starting point is 00:19:32 Like, I remember talking to Darsu, Gary's like, well, you can go, but. Don't get hers. Don't have to go. We'd be okay if you don't go, right? Like, it's fine. And I'm not here. They're there. but that is part of it.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Like there would be players, if you have bumps or concern. I guess my point is the GMs probably don't care if you go or want you to go really. I think it depends on where you're at in your career, too. You know, if you're a young guy and to your point, Rhett, you're healthy. Yeah, I'm not a disappointing year, but you're still climbing the ladder of progress and development here.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Why wouldn't you go? And, you know, Zane Perak. Let's stay there. Yeah. It's going to be there. You know we got hopped in them a few years ago. and that was a big part of a bigger transition Florida to Calgary and then the world.
Starting point is 00:20:21 He finished off on a high note. Huska being there and Perrette being there, I think is probably a really nice thing for Flames fans to think about. Yeah, and look, I think that this is good work by management from Hockey Canada, and that's Scotty Salmon, and that's Kyle Dubas. I think they feel like there's a reason to repair the relationship between Zane Perak and Hockey Canada.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Yeah. I mean, I don't think that anyone expect and hold on. Maybe the Calgary flames, just based on where they picked him, you know, just believed that he was going to have a heck of a year, which he did. And then you fast forward to, you know, him stepping into the national hockey league.
Starting point is 00:20:58 But let's see where he is next year. I mean, is he playing in Calgary? What does that look like? Is there an opportunity for him at, you know, the World Junior Championship, again, to potentially be a real impact player and a leader for that team? Well, that's what Hockey Canada is,
Starting point is 00:21:15 hoping, best case scenario, internationally. So why not start repairing, if necessary, that relationship now? You bring them into the men's worlds. Who's the other one? Martone is also going, right? Yeah, like a young guy, you know, are they going to play meaningful games at the men's worlds? Don't know. Probably not.
Starting point is 00:21:39 But they're at least getting the invitation to come for the exhibition round. and then like they did last year with a couple of young guys, it's up to you. You know, there may not be another opportunity for you to play here because we are going to cherry pick the guys that want to come over when they're eliminated from the playoffs. However, we'll keep you. You can practice.
Starting point is 00:21:59 You can be part of the group here. We'd love for you to stay. Maybe there is a chance for you to get into the mix. However, you know, it's up to you. So I think it's a step in the right direction for Zane Perak. We saw that actually with Johnny Goddrow after making his debut in game 82 with the flames way back, and I want to say 2014 spring.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Then he went to the worlds with the Americans and played phenomenally amongst men. And that he built to the excitement. I feel like the Americans have always been maybe a little more cutting edge or forward thinking with bringing some college guys over and guys that haven't played. Maybe they just get more nose from their NHL guys. But I like seeing Canada bring some young guys,
Starting point is 00:22:34 even if they do have to take a backseat after round one when another wave of players can be invited. Yeah. And look, I don't know. As Sidney Crosby officially said, He's not going. Hockey Canada doesn't expect Crosby to go. And I think we saw some video earlier this week on the weekends,
Starting point is 00:22:54 somewhere around there of Sid's skating with some of the younger guys in Pittsburgh. That's not unusual for him, right? He does have an annual basis. That's just part of Crosby's character and DNA. But I think there is a glimmer of hope that he might go, yeah, you know what, I still got some game left here. I'm going to go over to the worlds and have some. fun and just continue on with a mentoring role.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Imagine being one of those young guys, if that were to happen and have that opportunity, it'd be terrific. Let's turn our attention to round one of the playoffs. Five Canadian teams in that is a match as a record for most in any postseason. Maybe we go east to west with a little temperature check. Let's start with the habs. They got a big one, obviously, tonight with a chance to even that series. What did you think at game one from the haves?
Starting point is 00:23:39 Nervous, like they were nervous to start. I mean, that's not shocking at all. We saw the same thing from Ottawa. I actually saw it from some of the younger guys in Winnipeg. I was in Winnipeg for game one of the Blues and the Winnipeg Jets. But I thought the Canadians played their way out of that. You know, I did. There's some detail stuff that I'm sure Marty St. Louis has figured out
Starting point is 00:24:02 and has delivered the message home. There's some individual stuff that can't happen defensively that has to get cleaned up both on the defensive side. And we saw a couple of examples of Patrick Kleinney just checking out, which he can do from time to time. So they'll clean up some things. And I think that they'll be ready. I was impressed with Sam Montable.
Starting point is 00:24:25 I don't know what you guys thought. But, you know, again, he's in that realm of inexperienced when you look at the roster. And, you know, he just talked about how he just considered to be another game, went through his game day routine. And it looked like that. based on the way that he played. But you know that the capitals are going to be physical. You know, Tom Wilson was hitting everything in sight in game one.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Well, that's certainly not going to change. And there's some speculation, Arbor Jack, I may draw into the lineup for the Canadians, which I guess I'm okay with, but I don't know how much he's going to help. You know, it's not like he brings a wealth of experience. And the last thing you can have with Twitchy officiating, which you always get in the first couple of games of every first round series,
Starting point is 00:25:08 is a guy who's running around chasing hits. So I am interested in seeing what that lineup looks like in Montreal. We were talking about Battle of Ontario. We'll go there next. We're surprised maybe not the right word, but maybe impressed by how steely the Leafs have been, given how frenetic they've been in years past and in between their own ears.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Thoughts on Ottawa and Toronto. Well, I'm not surprised at what appears to be resolved for the Toronto Maple Leafs. and I'm going to give credit to Craig Baroube for that, right? And it's not like Sheldon Keefe was a bad coach. He wasn't. Maybe the group wasn't mature enough to get over the jinx, the hump, the inexperience, all of that. But the way the Maple Leafs are showing up in starting games is 100% by design by Craig Barube.
Starting point is 00:25:56 You know, they're physical. They're drawing penalties. They're really, really aggressive. And that power play is just bonkers, how quick they execute. I mean, predictably, that's, that's. That's not going to continue. That can't continue if you're the Ottawa senators. And I thought Ottawa played pretty well last night.
Starting point is 00:26:13 They took over in the second period. They just weren't rewarded for it. So I don't know if they've got to do more work around the Toronto net. Obviously, Anthony Stollars doesn't like having Ridley Greg anywhere near the crease. So we saw that. So is that going to be a storyline that drifts into Ottawa now that the series shifts? You know, there's no quit in that lineup. So I would expect that as good as Toronto has been,
Starting point is 00:26:37 they know that they're going to have to be better. They're going to have to clean up those second periods. And I think that Toronto could be a lot more tenacious around Linus Olmark, who also elevated his game in game two. Yeah, for sure. I mean, they went from, geez, that was a lopsided goalie matchup to like, okay, we're in overtime. Are we in the middle of a, is it a best of five with auto having on mice or the least up two?
Starting point is 00:26:59 Oh, it was that close. Let's keep moving. Winnipeg, you were there for game one. moments there where I worried and then you started thinking about last year and Hellebuck's not great game one and we remember I went with Colorado. Walk us through your visit to the Manitoba capital. Well, man, you know, that white out, I mean, people think that it's overrated. It's not.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Like that building is a small venue and it vibrates when they get going in there. When they announced the starting lineup and they announced Connor Hellebuck, like the MVP chant went on for a good solid 45 seconds and it was it was literally vibrating in there. And even Halebuk postgame talked about how he's never going to forget that. It's just kind of one of those defining moments that you tattooing your brain in terms of playoff experiences. But the Jets were nervous to start. They were. Braden Shen was a one-man Russian crew in that first period.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Seven, eight hits. I mean, he almost killed Cole Perfetti in the corner. And Perfetti talked about the next day, he said, he put, he gave himself crap for putting himself in a bad situation. He was kind of pinned in there by Justin Falk. But, you know, the reality is you can't sustain that type of play through three periods, or it's really hard unless everybody is doing it. And St. Louis seemed to taper off, certainly in the third. No different than any other of the top teams in the league.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Winnipeg's Big Boys then took over in that third period. Mark Sheifley's having a great start to the postseason. Same for Kyle Connor. I have follows a nice compliment there. And Hellbook settled down. I mean, he wouldn't admit it, but I think he had some nerve. in his play in game one. And, you know, he closed the door on the blues in game two.
Starting point is 00:28:37 I thought game two was a tremendous hockey. Heavy. It was heavy and defensively in tune. And there were just so many things to like about it. And then I mentioned Perfetti earlier. That poor kid didn't sleep. He didn't sleep after game two. I mean, he missed a wide open net to make it 3-1 in the third period.
Starting point is 00:28:56 And I mean, he's a skilled kid. So he's not out there to bang and crash. He's out there to generate offense. Valardi and Ealer is still out. Do you have timelines with either? I'd be surprised if Valardi wasn't an option for game three. Now, because the Jets are up to love, maybe that buys them a little bit more time, right? Maybe they go, okay, we're not quite there with him yet, but he skated a few times.
Starting point is 00:29:23 And, you know, I watched him for 20 minutes. Now he's in a non-contact sweater, so how much do you learn there? And he stayed out longer. But the skating looks good to me. He looks like he's really, really close. So if they can throw him in, I mean, with all due respect to Nikolai Eelers, he's in and out of the lineup all the time. And Nikolai Eilers is a nice ad because he just presents a different layer of speed, right?
Starting point is 00:29:48 So when you get in trouble, he can skate the puck out of trouble. You know, your entries on the power play with Nick Eilers are almost automatic. They're almost automatic because of how quick he is. But Valardi helps that power play as well. So he just gives them another boost. So if he doesn't play game three, I think he'll be good to go for game four. Finally, the Oilers and Kings played an incredibly weird game one
Starting point is 00:30:12 in the sense that. It's all weird, man. L.A. looked like they were utterly dominant. They missed three empty nets. They did not score on a full two minute five on three that would have put it well out of reach. And the Oilers, in just moments, yeah, showed that you still can never blink,
Starting point is 00:30:27 not for a moment when you've got dry saddle and McDavid on the other side. Just wild playoff hockey. How else do you explain it? I mean, honestly, I went to bed. It was 4-0-0. They were game-set and match. Like, I mean, I didn't expect to wake up, but it would be 8-0. You know, I thought, all right, this is going to be a 5-1, 5-2 hockey game.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I heard of bed. You know, and that's not being disrespectful to McDavid or dry-settled or any of the Oilers. It's just, I just like the way the L.A. Kings play. And I think that they've had a really, really good year, and I didn't expect them to allow. the greatness of the Oilers pair to get back into that game. But zero quit, right? Absolutely zero quit. So, I mean, it's pretty obvious the LA Kings are going to tighten up going into the next game.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Is it hard to take anything from that game just because of how I think so. I mean, you can take those guys are amazing and McDavid and you've got to plan for it. But I'm trying to think in my head, if I'm doubty or if I'm the coach in L.A., what's my message? Right. Is it almost, yeah, you won, but in its playoffs, and we think about the, of course, the cliches. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Do you literally throw the tapeway on that? Or do you show the first period? Do you try and learn from, was there plays you can make on McDavid? I mean, it's probably an answer that you should provide, but I think that maybe if they're glaring mistakes by some of your younger guys, like blown coverage, things like that,
Starting point is 00:31:57 where Byfield should have been here and he wasn't there. But I mean, What kind of conversation you have with Copatar or Dono or Drew Dowdy or any of their high experience guys? I thought Dowdy made some good plays and read. It's still. Yeah. I know, man. I know.
Starting point is 00:32:14 It's a fascinating series. You know, and obviously the start is imperative that the Oilers get going. I thought I was, frankly, I was surprised to see Trent Frederick in the lineup. Nine minutes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Yeah, he wasn't expected to play. He wasn't expected to be ready. And, I mean, you know, a healthy Trent Frederick. Is he a game changer? No, but he's a real nice compliment player. And, you know, he can play in that heavy environment type of scenario. And now you think about Evander King. You know, they were targeting Van der Kaine for game three.
Starting point is 00:32:52 I could see him play game two. But again, I wonder, he hasn't played in a year, you know. That's tough. He's either going to be really good and do something that is game changing. Maybe it's a thunderous body check. Maybe it's a great back check. Maybe it's a goal. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Or he's not going to give you anything. And he's going to take away space from a player who is healthy who should be in the line. If he's going to give you anything, it's going to be for one game. You always see, you know what I mean? There's always a first game back where they're impactful. But I just don't think over the long run that it's a sustainable. When you haven't played for a year, my goodness. If you're if you are in the business,
Starting point is 00:33:29 is making smart bets. Betting on a mid-30s power forward after a year off is not. It's a tough bet. It doesn't mean it can't work. I just think, like, I'm hearing a lot of oil fans. I'll wait till Keynes back. I'm like, the results haven't been good.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Like, when he's on the ice, they get scored on more than they score. And yes, he can help you with some intimidation, but it's going to be able to keep up. This is one of the oldest and slowest teams in the league all of a sudden. Yeah. With intimidation, if the other team allows you to intimidate.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Yeah, you're intimidated. I think that, the heat is going to get turned up on some of their secondary guys, right? Yeah. Like, so when Dry Settle and McDavid were both out late in the regular season, it was Ryan Nugent Hopkins who stepped up at least
Starting point is 00:34:11 that one game, right? He had the Hatrick game. You know, he's got to find his way to be a difference maker in this series. I know that sounds cliche, but it can't always be about the same three guys. You know, dry sidled, McDavid, and Zach Hyman gives he everything he got, everything
Starting point is 00:34:26 he has. I mean, shift in and shift. out. Nuge is going to have to be impactful. Otherwise, I think, I think eventually L.A. will run the Oilers out of gas, but it could be a fun series to watch and get to that point. Does it become too convenient for the rest of that team? I've never played on a team with players like that. Our star was always our golden, right? Has it become too convenient for those players to be able to just. Yeah, Leon, or come on. Connor, yeah. I'll do it. I don't know if I need to do. You guys are going to do it, right?
Starting point is 00:34:58 Yeah. Even if it's subconscious. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think it does. And more often the nod, if Knoblock has a choice, he'd rather not have those two guys play together. Totally. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:09 I mean, obviously, I mean, you want to spread your weapons around a little bit. But one more time, I think we're seeing the evidence of the players that they don't have in Edmonton that they miss. You know, they don't have the speed of Ryan McLeod. They don't have the speed of Dylan Holloway. Even Broberg, you know. He's an easy. He's a nice piece for the St. Louis Blues. He is.
Starting point is 00:35:31 And with all due respect to the guys that they brought in and the money that they invested, they're not quick. They're not nimble or nifty or fast. They're not. And when you're built around speed, especially with those two guys up front, man, you've got to have other areas to compliment. I took some,
Starting point is 00:35:47 sorry, Ryan, can I just jump because he's talking about defense thing? Yeah, I took some cheap shots like weird. Because we're unbiased out here. Sure. We don't have a. the other day. I haven't liked his attitude or what appears to be an attitude of not caring.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Ryan gets mad at me when I say that. Body language. It looks like he's out of it. He's making plays. He's throwing pucks away and he's playing 28 minutes. What is he? In my heart of hearts, if I'm running that team, I don't I don't need him. Never mind the Arb case. I am not impressed with what he brings. And I don't want to be. too harsh because again we're unbiased here. But what are your thoughts? I mean, the decor isn't their strength. No. Supposed to be last year talking about a $10, $11 million defenseman.
Starting point is 00:36:37 Yeah, for sure. I mean, and he obviously hasn't had a good year and he hasn't a good start to this playoff series. He hasn't. He wasn't good enough the other night. And, you know, the Oilers, without Mattias, Ackholm, you know, don't expect one guy to step in and fill the void. You know, darnel nurse gets in trouble when he tries to do too much. So if it's nurse and it's Walman and it's Bouchard who split those minutes and just elevate their game a little bit, then I think you can live with it, right? You don't fill the whole of Mattias Hickholm because he's just a stabilizing presence throughout that lineup. But you can't have what you had the other night from Evan Bouchard. And I guess the only thing, it's going to be fascinating to see how this unfolds, assuming that he doesn't have a real bounce back performance.
Starting point is 00:37:22 And look, if the Oeders level of series, maybe take the lead, maybe win the series, we might have a different conversation going into round two. But I'm looking at the body of work of Evan Bouchard this year, and it hasn't been what it was. So maybe financially that helps the Oilers, assuming that they want to lock in on this guy longer term. But maybe they've also seen enough by the time you get to the end of the year, where they look at their lineup, their roster. and they know they've got big dogo and a Connor McDavid right around the corner
Starting point is 00:37:54 but they're looking at all the holes that they have and all the holes that they have to try and fill. Maybe you have that conversation about Evan Bouchard and whether or not he's a piece that you have to invest in or maybe you include to bring some pieces back the other way.
Starting point is 00:38:10 What is he around the league? I'm genuinely curious because he's a bit of an enigma. He's a power play guy but you're a power play guy with your best powerplay players. If I played power play and Ryan played power play in Edmonton, he's getting, we're getting 50, 60 points.
Starting point is 00:38:27 DZone apples for me, drags. Right, like, where do you want it, Connor? Okay, I'll put it there. Yeah. There's always a market for those guys, though, fellas, you know this, that big shot from the point, you know, the power play opportunity, like,
Starting point is 00:38:41 every, not every team, a lot of general managers look at players like that and go, all right, we got a bit of a reclamation project here. but he's young. He's got so many physical attributes that we can work with. We just need to pair him with the right guy and let him run and use him as a special team sort of upgrade.
Starting point is 00:39:02 And that might be the way Stan Bowman looks at him too. Maybe they just feel like, okay, if we get him at the right price point, then let's make sure that we flank him with the right guy. And is that at home? Is that somebody else? I mean, we'll see. But he's got to be better. a lot of players have to be better there.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Any pressure in net yet or where are we at? I know there's a lot of picker down the stretch because Skinner was hurt. Skinner didn't look good in game one, not that many Oilers did. This is where you wanted that 1A guy that Jack Campbell is supposed to be, I'm guessing. But you're there. What do you see in net? I mean, I don't get the sense that they're contemplating change yet. But it can't be too far down the road, can it?
Starting point is 00:39:48 Because you're right, you don't really, yeah, you don't really have a tandem. You've got a quality backup in Cal Peckard. That's really what you have. And, you know, I'm thinking of the Ottawa series now. Linus Olmer took some heat along with a number of Ottawa senators after game one. I mean, doesn't everybody have to elevate their game going into the playoffs? Isn't that just common sense? And that includes the goalie.
Starting point is 00:40:14 That includes the goalie. So as long as Stu Skinner is better in, game two that he was in game one and everybody else is better, then I think that he buys a little bit more time. But if he's not, or if the team is better and he lets in a soft one, maybe a couple of questionable ones, if not two soft ones, then you have to have that conversation because gold tendons cannot be the undoing of the Oilers in this series.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Final one for you from me. Gabe Landisog may return to the lineup tonight in Colorado. at home against the Dallas stars, nearly three years from his last NHL hockey game. That was the game. They lifted the cup in the Stanley Cup final. I believe against Tampa that year. Incredible stuff.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Just give us more contact. Because Rhett, he said it first. I was like, okay, he's got some weird thing. I don't know anything about this procedure. He's like, that's almost impossible to recover from to just walk normally, never mind, be a pro athlete. It's been a long road. I don't think it's ever happened, has it?
Starting point is 00:41:17 I think guys never have it. It is so cutting edge that you basically can't move for months and months and months. You do not risk the cartilage move. We're not medical. No. But it is a staggering surgery and an amazing thing. Yeah. I don't know what to make of it to be honest.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Well, I mean, the only thing that you can take away from it is how mentally strong this man is. Like, can you imagine going through all of that? and investing everything that he's invested to get to the point where he's literally returning to the National Hockey League at the fastest time of year. I mean, it's just bananas. And if it weren't for the character that he provides, we're not having this conversation.
Starting point is 00:42:03 We're not. I mean, if he's not Gabe Landisog or a decorated player or a leader highly valued by the Colorado Avalanche and Jared Bednar and his teammates, he's not getting in the lineup. No. It's just that, it's that simple. I'll tell you what, though, and it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:42:21 I always say this. I don't cheer for teams, but I do cheer for individuals. He is one of my favorite guys. As a person, he's an unreal dude. He really is. He's a smart man, super caring, obviously a hard worker. You think back to his contribution when they won the Stanley Cup and the price that he paid there, all of that.
Starting point is 00:42:41 So just based on the individual story, I'm happy for him. I'm cheering for him. I want him to do well, but I'm not expecting him to. That's where my concern comes in. Sorry, if I stepped on you there a little bit. That's where my concern comes in. I don't know, from a hole in the wall. I can't say he's a good person up, but I'll go on your word that he is.
Starting point is 00:43:00 I don't want him to go out there and get drilled and have something happen. Because that type of surgery, give him credit for what he's gone through and to get back and to try and do it. That surgery is not for that. That surgery is so you can live. And that's series. So that you should go play again. This is a surgery. So you want to have a life?
Starting point is 00:43:22 Okay. Well, we're going to do this and set you up so that when it's sealed up, you can kick a ball with your kids or like it's not meant for. So God bless him for what he's attempting. But I hope it works out well. Yeah, knock on wood. As you're talking about that,
Starting point is 00:43:40 you know who comes to mine is Max Patcher already? And you remember, it comes back from the Achilles. and like how many games do you play in Washington did it again you know and again knock on wood he's he's back healthy and he's an option for the Toronto Maple Leafs but I just with all the stops and starts and and the edge work and let alone the forecheck of the Dallas stars you know and everything he's going to have to do oh boy anyway we'll wish him well it's a good yeah and you know what it's at home that's going to be an emotional lift it's a
Starting point is 00:44:15 at the ball arena in Denver. So that's a fun one tonight. Three good games tonight. I'm fascinated by all three. Thanks for sharing some time with us, Dregs. We do appreciate it. And if you're going to get all the way to Winnipeg, I mean, next time, just come a little further.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Take you a tour to Calgary. Get out for Stampede, maybe. Redd will show you. Alberta Beef, Dricks. Boys, I'll do my best to try and get there before the conference final next year. How's that? Oh.
Starting point is 00:44:45 That's a waste away. That's a way. A lot of work. A big run with it. Don't let us down now. Thanks, drags. Okay, guys. Have a good one.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Darren Dregor of TSN, our Friday guest on Wednesday here on the Crystal Waters plumbing and heating guest hotline. Your crystal clear choice for home comfort. Make sure your home is getting ready for summer. We've got some temperatures coming and get those AC units ready. Oh, get the units. The last thing you want is plus 30. you go to click click not working I moved here
Starting point is 00:45:18 I bought a house didn't have AC no you don't need it in Calgary no it's not one night what in the this is unbearable this is idiotic where's the mountain air
Starting point is 00:45:31 so if you need new AC or maybe it's furnace and never know can't tell you get cold hot water cooler you need both we're talking discounts upgrades up to a thousand bucks in value for you Barney's out there the Barnburner Pell
Starting point is 00:45:45 So thank you to Crystal Waters. They want to be the guardians of your home's mechanical heart. To McCall 403, 219, 4100, or go to Crystal Clearcallegree.com. Lots there. And you want to react to? Not react to all the, I like a lot of the stuff he says. I don't know, like the Bouchard. I left the other day, take a shot run at him.
Starting point is 00:46:13 But it kind of felt bad. but then I'm like, well, he hasn't performed. And Greg's got to confirm it. He's like, he hasn't played well. No. And if the oilers are going to advance, probably he's going to have to up his game a lot. It's just funny to me,
Starting point is 00:46:26 like, we're talking about a group that should be dynastic. When you have two superstars. When you watch those two guys go and do what they do, at the price they're at. It's not expensive. Right? And it's like,
Starting point is 00:46:42 and you compile the rest of your squad. that way? We're talking about the Oilers right now as a maybe they could get back into the series and if they somehow did get by L.A. Like, that's crazy. Yeah. We're talking about a team
Starting point is 00:46:57 that was a win away from the cup last year and it's like, boy, they're really in tough here against this two seed. And they are and the kings are good. But they're only going to get by if McDavid and dry site will carry the mail and drive the bus and do all the fishing
Starting point is 00:47:11 and the cooking and the cleaning and the laundry and the, A lot of pass. Vacuuming and whatever, like. It's funny. There was a moment in that game one where they kind of looked at each other. I guess we're going to have to be. No one else can.
Starting point is 00:47:26 All right. Here we go. And that's the thing. You still can win with that group, but it's just very well could. Compare yourself to Florida in their depth and the decisions they've made. Compare yourself to the penguins when they won three cups with Melkin and Sid. Compare yourself to Tampa what they did with headman Vasilevsky,
Starting point is 00:47:44 Kuturov and company. Compare yourself to Chicago with Taney Caves. Like, this is a major, major shortfall. Huge. And I know that, you know, Stan Bowman got there after some of the pitfalls that lined them up for the offer sheets, but to not really have a contingency plan, except that Conner's old agent is going to run the team for a few weeks here, not good enough. Just not. We'll be okay with it, though.
Starting point is 00:48:09 The other thing I wanted to try on was Flames at the World Championships. Never mind the relationship with hockey Canada. What a great opportunity for Zane Perak to play against me. I remember when Marshan got invited. I forget what it was. He got invited almost Brad Marchand out of Boston. Yeah. And he got to a team Canada type.
Starting point is 00:48:32 I think he played broo Jews. And he's a hell of a player. But at that point in the NHL, he was just a ball of mock. Yeah. And then he went and played with Crosby and all. And you learn how to be elite. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:42 And so, yeah, I agree. You want role models? You got some. Yes. I don't know who's all on the team and who's all going. But you're going from where was he, Saginaw? Yeah. With your buds.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Yeah. And wings down the street. And then you're basically a black ace with the flames while the games matter. Which is great. Meaningless game 82. To playing with future Hall of Famers. Yeah. Like it's,
Starting point is 00:49:04 I feel like you might be able to pick up a few things. Yeah. You're going to be lining across from some guys. You're like, oh, I've seen you at the Olympics. Yeah. Boy, I've been watching you for a while. you're an hell of a player and i think uh just for for another layer on it like they've said they've invited them to play exhibition games hockey can't obviously like the rest of us don't know who's
Starting point is 00:49:23 going to win all these series there's going to be guys available that you're like shit if we can get this guy oh we got to bring them over um and so they're not going to commit to zane's one of our 60 that's going to play a ton but shouldn't he's a freaking 18 year old kid out of sagina and here's the thing come over and impress us and earn one of those six spots that's all funny don't expected. Don't expect anything. If you do go, that's wonderful and it's going to be even more eye opening and we pencil them in for game one next year. But that's, that's a tough. That's going to be a big jump from. Yeah. And it depends on my guys say yes and no. And yeah, you don't know the roster. You know, I just, I wondered if there's some confusion with Flamshunds like, was you on the team or is
Starting point is 00:50:07 just exhibition? It's like this is there. They freaking need them. This has to play out. And it might just be play two games fly home. It might be, hey, you're our number 7-8. Like, you're an injury away stay with us. But next year's going to be interesting. He's too good to go back to the O. Was it power that went over there? Or did he play a year pro when, no, I think he went out of college and went played for team USA and they were like, he was playing 25 fricking minutes over there. You never know. This guy's awesome. Johnny right out of Boston College played a huge role for the Americans in 2014. I'm not saying that I don't want to. No. If he is playing, then I think it's another feather in the cap yeah and it's an opportunity to bridge playing against juniors to
Starting point is 00:50:44 being in the n hl because i think we all know he's going to start in the n hl it's just a matter of what are the flames going to do with them are you allowed so you can do two-week condition my first year i wasn't allowed to go to the minors yeah i played 10 out of the first 11 games and then i was in and out of the lineup not playing very much and then i went to world juniors yeah played eight or nine games whatever they play at world juniors come back play a few games then i did two weeks in the miners played nine games and then i came back and gordon murphy broke his toe and i played 25 games in the playoffs yeah so the only difference here would be he wouldn't be allowed to go to the miners on a conditioning extent he would condition he could that's so whenever the the wranglers have
Starting point is 00:51:24 so i my point is you can't go back to sagano no or junior it would it would how many games does he need for like and again his play will dictate how much he needs but maybe that's a there's a there's ways of managing it, I guess, is what I'm getting at. I agree. It's exactly the conversation. I don't know if he'll put up to points I put up in that first year, but we'll see. Do you want to remind us of those Goddy totals? It was, we were on the couch last night. I mean, the kids are watching hockey.
Starting point is 00:51:55 And my kid goes, I didn't know you, so your first goal was in Boston, dad, in 97. And I'm like, yeah, and I started at 95. And they all. Huh? Was there a lockup? in there, Dad? Yeah, and so I've been thinking with this a lot because it's a very realistic outcome
Starting point is 00:52:15 that they don't send him back to Junior and that he's probably not ready for 82 games in the end of the show. Because that's just different universes there. Now, maybe he is, but I don't even think you, sorry, go ahead, I'm interrupted. So let me play it up. He's going to get the 10 game look.
Starting point is 00:52:29 Like every kid out of junior that's a top prospect that has a strong camp will. And I would be very, very open And if I'm Craig Conroy, if even with guys like Monahan and could chuck, we saw them kind of hit a rookie wall. Like Monahan midseason is rookie year. You're like, uh, and I think he had a busted bone his foot. Like, if I'm the Calgary Flames, I probably am putting it in pencil. He's going to the world juniors.
Starting point is 00:52:53 I would schedule it out. When the schedule comes out, I would sit down and go, okay, I want this kid to play 40 games next year. Sure. Whatever. Now, maybe you can't even get to that. so what? He's going to be on my team, and I'm going to look at this kid,
Starting point is 00:53:10 okay, I don't need him playing back to back. Sure. I don't need him playing three and four. So I'm going to pick the games. And this is him playing average. If he's dictating, I'm in the lineup and I'm playing 20 a night because he's good enough, then that's fine.
Starting point is 00:53:26 You don't worry about it. But there's nothing wrong with looking at that schedule and go, okay, we're going to do this, this, this and injuries will change things a little bit, but we're going to go to World Juniors, you're two weeks in the minors, and you're playing this many games with us. 40 games.
Starting point is 00:53:44 Who cares? Great. Yeah, I'm with you. And I think there's been a hesitancy for teams to send young guys to world juniors. Who do you want to develop your kids? Your organization or some jackalope down in the fucking O HL. Sorry, I swore.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Jekyllope. It's a jackalope. Is that one of those rabbits? with the yeah i think so yeah either way it's not a shot against sag and i don't know who's but no you can't go back to junior no he's dominated it
Starting point is 00:54:15 and you you want him with your development people the reason you have sports scientists and the reason you have the best medical people and the reason you have all these coaches is because you know they can help players you want him in your environment with your systems with your people you know integrating with your leaders and your culture it's it's a no brainer the challenge is if he's kind of a six seven, I think the world juniors is a great option. Awesome. Go play some huge minutes.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Go play for hardware. Be on the ice. Down one with a minute. Hate every second of it because you're worried you're going back to junior. Go. That was no soon. Play scared. Get a horn from McGinla for a Christmas to put on your Harley.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Like, come on. I said something else there for a moment. Let's, uh, let's, uh, uh, hey, we've told you a bunch about the hearing loss. clinic. It is locally owned and operated and here to help. It's not just about hearing loss or impairment. It's about empowering everyone to be socially active, to be more connected with loved ones and confident in all aspects of their life. I watch my dad lose this hearing. He went for my guy that I tried to talk to your dad. It was terrible. No, no good at all. To down to nothing to the point where I couldn't talk to him over the phone for a decade and he eventually had a
Starting point is 00:55:27 cochlear implant. But I can't tell you how much the social aspect of a human's life is impacted by hearing, even just if you can upgrade a bit here or there or change like what boom's done with all those high frequencies. I was losing them. Now I got them. We're talking about totally changing your outlook, your confidence. Every aspect of your life. Your whole existence. Yeah. And so if you have a toothache, you go to the dentist. And if your eyes aren't working, you go to the eye doctor. If there's even a question, like you should be heading in to get your hearing tested. People of all ages can suffer from hearing loss. It is not agist. It is an equal opportunity ailment.
Starting point is 00:56:07 And yeah, hearing issues can have been linked in studies untreated to things like depression, dementia. So get in there. Five hearing loss clinic locations in Calgary, including the new Chinook location at the corner of McLeod and Glenmore, also five in BC. Cranber, Creston, Fernie, Golden, Invermere, check them out there. hearing loss clinic hearing loss.ca. And be sure to follow on socials because they always get great prising.
Starting point is 00:56:38 Like prising? I don't think we're allowed to win. We're not. No. But people watching. Yes. They could get signed jerseys, tickets to games.
Starting point is 00:56:47 People listening. Listening for sure. If you're having a tough time listening, it's not just because I interrupt everyone. It might be something they can help with the hearing loss. They can't help me with that. Nope. They might be able to help you.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Okay, one game we didn't talk about last night, I want to get back into it. The late one, the very late one, Minnesota at Vegas, I think we kind of thought, you know what, Minnesota, not your year, bunch of injuries, got healthy too late. Vegas is Vegas. Last night was not that at all. And I want to show you the assist on, I think it was either the opener or the second goal, the game from Minnesota. Carrille Caprizov was on track to get heart,
Starting point is 00:57:29 this year when he was injured in December. And I think people might have just forgotten because of the market and how long he's been gone, how good this guy is. That's like a five foot saucer pass on the tape across a zone and a half. That is so ridiculous. Hitting him in stride on the tape. It lands right on his tape.
Starting point is 00:57:51 I can catch that pass. That's incredible. Carill and company. Even Duster Jack would be able to pick that one up. totally anyone on the jasper squad could handle that pass which that's saying something now who can make that yeah the the one piece off can make that i don't know how many guys can make that pass in the league like it is special he's he had another multi-point campaign and all of a sudden you can see why minnesota is going to be good down the road with you got to get rid of all this dead money they've been spending on the buyouts but last night it's boldie that gets sprung there Falino scores Zoccarello scores.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Caprizov would add a goal. Caprizov then another one. So a three point night, the final one coming into an empty net. And I've got a series here. I know it's been late for everyone, but they've stolen home ice. It's been good.
Starting point is 00:58:45 It's back and forth. I actually, when we're, I was watching it started the game, Vegas looked like they were going to take over. I think they were out shooting them five, nothing six, seven, eight minutes in. And then it,
Starting point is 00:58:57 the script flipped a little bit. All of a sudden, many found their legs and they were flying. Got to 4-2 late. I think early in the third Vegas scores to get it within two, and Minnesota had to survive a push there. But we got a series, which is good. Some of these feel like they're overall. It's funny because I'm watching and I'm going, okay, so Vegas, it's 4-1.
Starting point is 00:59:16 They're going to go into the room and say, okay, Edmonton did it last night. We can do this. No. I can't tonight, man. It's more difficult without those. two guys even held a team at Vegas but we'll get to the uh the bets later and probably a pender report do but i'm telling you that i don't know there's any more fascinating than edmonton la tonight because all the weirdness that happened in game one it kind of reminds me a battle
Starting point is 00:59:45 of alberta in 2022 game one in calgary is it nine six and everyone had in their head this vision what the game was going to be and it's the first battle of alberta since the 90s and you're like okay here's what it's going to look like and you're like what in the hell is this well and all And all preseason hockey. And then game two. Like I wouldn't be surprised if Edmonton went eight one tonight. The only thing I wouldn't be comfortable right now with and I've got it in the bets later is an under. Because I haven't seen enough saves from the Oilers goal tending.
Starting point is 01:00:18 And I just think Leon and Connor showed you even if you hold us off the sheet for 50, 55 minutes, like, don't matter. We'll still get ours. Yeah. We're still coming. Yeah. Jerks. Let's do a Pender report.
Starting point is 01:00:29 We do it for Village Honda, our good friends, up in the Northwest Auto Mall and online at VillageHonda.com. There are pals from like day one. We're talking about the OGs. And yeah, the Honda Ridge Line, I can tell you, the convenience of an all-wheel drive pickup with the comfort and smooth ride of a sedan. Car and driver magazine ranked the interior of the Ridgeline tops in its class for practicality and comfort right now. The 2025 Ridgeline Black Edition, got a couple thousand. Honda bonus. Qualified Honda owners get an additional two grand in loyalty bonus. Can't recommend enough.
Starting point is 01:01:06 I'm very happy with the Honda Ridge Line. Also, they're looking to buy your vehicle, even if you aren't looking to buy one of theirs. They want pre-owned vehicles. All makes, all models. Appraisals are complimentary. Cash in 24 hours. On top of that, cruise voucher for two. You and Jack can be.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Oh, I can't wait to hit the cruise with Jack. You'll get your bills gear on. I'll be wearing a Steelers guy on. We'll be buffing it up, just crushing it. It's baby oil out on the deck. Hey, Jack. Flex him by the pool. Oh, no?
Starting point is 01:01:37 Yeah, man. Yeah, man. He's trying to downplay it. More details, village, honda.com. All right, we start with the news we spoke about with Ryan Huska going to the world. It was Struger that broke it this morning. There will be three Calgary Flames on Team Canada. Ryan Huska joining McKenzie Weaker, who captained the squad two years ago,
Starting point is 01:01:56 and Zane Perrek, who gets, uh, a nice little bit of seasoning against a grown-ass man, which is we spent great length talking about. Other Flames news, the Wranglers were in one last night, down three-nothing rent after 40 minutes against Coachella Valley. There's more on the website about it. Let's do this. Let's show you the game sheet,
Starting point is 01:02:21 and then we'll show you how they tied it up. Down three-nothing after 40 as the underdog, on the road, and a best of three. Dryden Hunt 3-1. 5 minutes and 7 seconds left. Lucas Siona 5-2. And there's Scori, Rory, Rory, Karen's seven seconds left to force OT.
Starting point is 01:02:44 OT1, no goals. 2, no goals. Oh, 2, no goals. All the way to triple OT, down 3-0 after rallying back. And then it, yeah, that stinks. Yeah, that does stink.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Do you think Trent calls Must Could have been the difference there? Yes. I think he sold out his team by not keeping that. It's the smallest of bounces that can affect a game in the playoffs. Yeah, when the boys retired going into the third OT, you didn't have the, they didn't have the fear factor that a guy with a mustache brings.
Starting point is 01:03:17 The motivation. The motivation. Yeah. Here's Roy Karen's tying it late. Seven seconds left. This is a huge goal. See, emptying it behind him. Off the goal he's skate.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Stick with it, Rory. good thing you dropped the leg well done sonny all this guy does is put up points terrible number it's kind of bad number 86 or is that the way we're here six yeah 86 here have a summer rory because uh they don't have a lot of guys that offense comes easy to he's one of them not not by any stretch a 200 foot player uh nor your windgate champion but guy guy creates offense every level he's touch have four points in five games in the NHL this year I think like pretty nice stuff I will get some of the action from what last night jack is that where we're going next walk me where we're yeah yeah let's do it here their finals just a reminder where we're at in the tournament Monday was like excellent last night was good Monday was yeah there's some scores there and a game that nobody wants to watch I'm ready for Carolina to just move along go away New Jersey come back health here with all three huses you'll be more interesting yeah if those kids if they were healthy yeah okay it's different yeah big big uh pressure on ottawa at home now it's no pressure it's the big
Starting point is 01:04:43 bad leaves your crowd you're the underdogs like make this a serious sense we've been impressed by the least but we also want to see them sweat right yes we do a hundred percent we want to They're not going to sweat if just one win. You've got to win them both. Were people sleeping on Florida, or was that just bad one game? One off, flush it. Let's get back to work. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:04 I was trusting Vasilevsky to kind of, and six goals doesn't speak well. So I'm hoping it's a one-off type of deal, but they were at home. Yeah. And they have not looked great, but they have not had anywhere near your full health. I wonder when Ekblad's back for game three, is this, better roster than the one they won the cup with last year? Did you subtract, you know, your Montour and Oliver Ekman Larsson? Oriel's gone, but then you add Seth Jones
Starting point is 01:05:34 and you get Marchand in. It's interesting conversation. We'll see. Tap needs to be better. That should have been a war. That was a laffer. That was just over way too soon. And Minnesota's stolen home ice, best of five in St. Paul Pickerel. That's so good. Yeah. Okay. Load up on that. Vegas Golden Knights. tonight we'll start with the opener it is a five o'clock start in washington the habs goal coffield and company that is uh the first contest any news and notes on this one
Starting point is 01:06:08 the top of your head not really like to see the habs get one if they go home for a game three at the bell center tied like that's a circus on friday night there we'll talk about a team with zero expectations i think it is the habs You're just playing with house money right now, but it would be nice to see them make a series of it at least. Agreed. Next one is the Colorado Dallas game. They've already played a couple. This is game three tonight.
Starting point is 01:06:37 And yes, it will be potentially the return of Gabe Landiscaug. I'd expect they start them on the wing of the third of the fourth line. And, you know, how are you feeling? Check in. I do not know how you. It's incredible. he's done he's it's already an incredible success story but i do feel you kind of cringing for it not to go perfectly like uh like well we talked about cane and edmonton it's been a year i're gonna get this is
Starting point is 01:07:07 three freaking years yeah take the surgery aside go sit on the beach for three years and then try come back and play against dallas in the playoffs like what colorado had a lead in game too as well Dallas tied it with what four left, one at an O.T. This still, even with the injuries in Dallas, has potential to be our best first round matchup for entertainment value in the nightcap. We talked about it before. Ableton Oilers, L.A. Kings, tough game to grade.
Starting point is 01:07:37 If you turned it off with 10 to play, you would have thought thorough, dominant effort from the L.A. Kings of the team to beat. If you only watch the last 10, you're thinking, man, the Wiliers, if they ever want to put together 60 minutes, the cups theirs. We'll make more sense of it as we get more games under our belt. This is an 8 o'clock start tonight. The Dallas Colorado is a 7.30.
Starting point is 01:07:56 So that likely staggers those intermissions up for live hockey. That's going to be a nice little bit. Get the kids to bed early, Red, settle in. I know I had popcorn last. Popping corn. Jack, popping corn tonight? Maybe I should. I might have to go to the Hitman game.
Starting point is 01:08:12 Hitman game seven tonight. We're going to talk about that as well. The move, Rhett, is get a suite. Invite Jack and I. We'll get the screens going in the suite. and we'll watch the hitman. That's not a bad play, actually. Yeah, we can maybe make some happen.
Starting point is 01:08:23 In fact, that's where we're going next. Calgary Hitman. Game 7. Settle down, Lethbridge. Hurricanes or Hitman will advance to face the medicine hat tigers and Gavin McKenna. Oh, gosh. Is it the number?
Starting point is 01:08:38 What highway is that? Down to Lethbridge? Yeah. Highway 2. Okay, so if you're cruising the two, there's going to be a bunch of buses with dumb people in them. Just be careful. You're coming north on the deuce.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Just look out. All right south of the city. Careful. Settle down. Lethbridge. Been a great series. Hitman lost the first two at home and promptly went back and won the next two in Lethbridge.
Starting point is 01:09:02 Back and forth we go. Should be fun. Keep an eye on this Ben Kindle. He's going to be a very nice player that maybe end of the first round, early second. Center. Not huge. Putting up points.
Starting point is 01:09:18 big game player. And we'll have to check in on our boy. What was, Aidan Park? The guy they brought it from the USA Channel. Maybe he's playing. I don't know. Curious. Great game tonight.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Seven o'clock at the dome. Also, if you want to use, they got a promo code social for $25 adult seats. Kidding me. Also, if your season ticket over the flames, they sent you a deal. Check your inbox. Let's get a crowd here. Fellas, need it. Yeah, because you go down to stupid Lethbridge and it's sold out.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Nothing else to do in Lethbridge. Just watch flags, flap, and windmills. turn and the Hurricanes Hockey Club. Settled down, Lothbridge. Okay. Other hockey news, looks like we're getting some of the world's best women's hockey to the West Coast. Vancouver and Seattle expect to be announced as expansion teams. This press conferences in about half an hour.
Starting point is 01:10:07 I think six teams right now off top of my head, Toronto, Ottawa, New York, Minnesota, Boston, Montreal. You're going to add the pair out west. That's good for travel. Leagues are growing. Okay. Next up, Jack, we need a pulse from you. We need a temperature check.
Starting point is 01:10:24 We are a day away from the NFL draft. Check. And look at this, the Pittsburgh Steelers in Peter Shregger's mock draft of Shedars Sanders. Go into the Steelers, Jack. Before we even get to the draft, I'm already done with this season. What? Aaron Rogers thing has really pissed me off. Like, where even is he?
Starting point is 01:10:48 He's out throwing with our new receivers. He's at the complex. Where is he now? Is he done? Is he retired? Is he done? Is he retired? We have no quarterback.
Starting point is 01:10:57 We're going to draft this cornball. Shador Sanders. Cornball? Oh. Is he no good? Well, let's see. I got some scouting reports because I saw this and I thought, let's dig and give Jack a little background here. You don't want to discredit how accurate he is.
Starting point is 01:11:12 There's just a lack of a ton of juice in his arm. It's not, it's not incredibly athletic. He does hold on to the ball. more of as a backup. Maybe he could develop into a fringe starter. But on top of that, there's another one here. What the hell does Tom Pelliserro know? Yeah, well, here's an NFL assistant.
Starting point is 01:11:28 He'd know more. The worst former interview I've ever been a part of in my life. So entitled, unnecessary sacks, never plays on time, horrible body language, blaming teammates. The biggest thing is he's not that good. Jack, tomorrow. What numbers are going to be? When do you get the journeys? Jersey orders.
Starting point is 01:11:49 I'm not getting the jersey. I'm not, we're not doing the first round quarterback. It's all, it's all a smokescreen. Please just draft some defensive linemen. I've never heard of. It would be Steelers you to go right back to the defense. We could not do quarterback again.
Starting point is 01:12:01 Next year's quarterback. Not this guy. Bills. What about the bill? They got to pick. What are they going to do? Who cares? So the bills are deadly.
Starting point is 01:12:10 Deadly. Go bills. Whoever they pick. Awesome. Yeah. Didn't they boo famously? I think that, yes,
Starting point is 01:12:16 they didn't want Josh hell. I mean, the front office did, the fans. Fans are dummies. Don't go with offense, bills. Let's get some dumb stuff after a boo-burn nearly pooped himself on Monday's Barnburner and Shaq had a tough go Monday night and TNT. We've got an update to provide. Jesus.
Starting point is 01:12:33 The algorithm. Let's go back to the. All three home teams won. All the highlights coming your way. That's what Chuck is laughing about. Oh, stupid, man. We're trying to save it for the beginning of the show. Howdy how are you going to miss a big ass toy?
Starting point is 01:12:50 Well, you missed it most of the night. That thing has put down since the last half time. You picked a hell of a time to wake up. Oh, my God. That is a call back to yesterday's Pender Report. Of course, Shaq had to pinch and wobble. Those guys never miss. Like, any opportunity they have to do something hilarious.
Starting point is 01:13:11 They always do. Excellent. It's the best sports desk panel. Just can tell they're genuinely love. Just having fun. Yeah. Looks like you get an early round in because some of these golf courses are out there,
Starting point is 01:13:25 but I didn't expect things to be intense this early in the season. I don't know who your buddy with the barrel is there, but this senior's champ is feeding up. Oh, pink. Oh, oh. Now he's bloodied and he's not happy. So your boy with the kegs coming back for more. Another one.
Starting point is 01:13:50 Are you talking or swinging? That guy's swinging. You want one? Yeah. Grandpa was in the Navy, I think. I've already thrown a few. I'm not going to, if you think I'm stopping now. I'm just getting loose.
Starting point is 01:14:04 We love a good organic broadcast to sport. And, you know, sometimes the broadcasters can be accused of being a little biased and the emotions can come in. Not the pros like us who are very, you know, independent, down the middle. no rooting interest. Here's the Luton City. And yeah, here we go. They like Lutons.
Starting point is 01:14:29 Headed clear. Menge. Tanner shoots. Oh, it's an equalizer. Equalizer there from Tanner. Volleyer. Oh, it's an equalizer. Shoots.
Starting point is 01:14:40 Oh, it's an equalizer. It's not quite clean enough for a drop for Boomer, but it's close. I like how hard it is and it hangs. Like, Yeah. Soccer. Big city. Feel for you. Finally, we got an update on your girlfriends. The Aussie twins. No, no, we're going to keep this quiet.
Starting point is 01:14:59 The blonde Aussie twins. They apparently, we saw the news hit with them. They became viral a bit. Now that people want to interview them and ask them, why can't you guys talk in your own? Try to talk separately, but we're not ourselves. Clearly, speaking in unison is a thing that you do. How?
Starting point is 01:15:21 Yeah, that's right. How did this happen? Well, it just happens and we don't know why, but we have tried to talk separately but we're not ourselves. It's not us and it's very hard and yeah, and we don't care about the critics. We tell people, if they can't stand listening to us, simply just switch off the TV. Do not switch off the TV. Do not.
Starting point is 01:15:48 Do not say that. Okay, please no. I want to be clear on that. But sorry, how does it feel? Paula, I'm going to ask you a question and I want you only to answer it, Paula. Okay, well I'll try and answer it as best as I can. Okay, I can see Bridget trying to speak. I also think it didn't feel right.
Starting point is 01:16:07 It's so, what I know? How do you know? What is going on that means that one of you speaks, the other one just instinctively has the same thing to say. What's going on? Oh, guess what? I wish I could answer that question. It just happens. I can't comprehend this.
Starting point is 01:16:26 That's wild. Rhett, I know you've been going to places where you're not allowed to talk with them on dates because they're lovely ladies, but you're really, you're having a tough time with the whole synchronized speaking. Well, honestly, how does that work? Jack's about. I don't get it.
Starting point is 01:16:40 There's more to this universe. It's twins, man. What? Come on, man. Just because they're twit. Like, one soul. Can your boys do that? God, no, but they're not identical.
Starting point is 01:16:50 And, yeah, the Unabomber and Mother Teresa are not finishing each other sentences. Very different in my house. Where do you go with them? I don't trust it at all. No. Don't trust it. It seems off. I hate their shirts. Those are terrible. They've got to be nurses.
Starting point is 01:17:08 I've been looking at their outfits. Oh, maybe. Oh, are they? Oh, are they? Okay, there's a pin report on a Wednesday. Do it for Village. Honda. Let's get her done. Go get it. New year, same old story. The Honda CRV sits at the top of the field in the compact SUV field,
Starting point is 01:17:27 according to car and driver magazine. Check out the CRV. Of course, the Accord. Talked about the ridgeline. Great line of vehicles. Suddenly, a bit of inventory going on up in Village Honda. Let me see that. Huge selection of use vehicles as well.
Starting point is 01:17:45 Over 90 units on site and access to over 500 more in the dealer group. is village honda.com. They're worth the trip. They're your dealership for life located in the northwest automobile. I should phone, Dean. Call Dean.
Starting point is 01:17:59 See how he was going to jump in when he was going to pass the borders. Yeah, I think we won't get them because I'm not waiting. Yeah. Get to our bets in a bit. First one tell you how to win a million bucks. Even Rhett could use an extra million dollars.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Running out of time, people. We've been warning you and you're not good listeners. Maybe you're, like us. You're procrastinating. You're procrastinating. It's time to stop procrastinating.
Starting point is 01:18:23 It's time to get it done. Today is Wednesday, April 23rd. The service Big Share contest, it's rolling. It's a million bucks just by saving money that you could win it. Become a member, start saving with service. Every 500 bucks you save, gives you five entries into the Big Share contest. It ends April 30th. That is a week today.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Get her going. Skill test required for rules. Put a service.ca.ca. slash win. You can also add more entries. Increase your chances of winning the million bucks. Double them when you open a registered account and invest in it like a TFSA or RRSP. Also set up your paycheck for automatic deposit. That'll get your bonus entries as well. Fast track your savings with a high yield savings account. Do you like those low yield or the high yield? High yield is better. That's sort of our financial people are telling us. Invest in a GIC service as promotions during the contest period with great rates and term lengths. Check it out.
Starting point is 01:19:16 You know, you can win a million bucks. Service.ca slash win for the big share. Jack, what are you doing with a million bucks? I got an idea. Should we guess first? Yeah, you can guess. Okay, you're going to Montana. Yep.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Like you're checking hand. I'll find a place to cash it there. Yep. You got some Lugans. Yep. And it's just going to be. I'm buying a boat. Boat.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Lake. Lake, boat. Barmer or blondes. I'm not sure if we've got distribution there, but you'll find some beer. Yeah, I'll probably just work on the ski hill for the rest of my life and on the lake. Ski bum, beach bum, boat bum, bikini bums, you got it all there. Jeez, what a life. Yeah, Jack, you're going to be living it.
Starting point is 01:20:00 Please. Please, please, please, please. What would you do, right? Those are some serious goals, Jack. I'll hope it comes through for you. I'd probably just put a bunch of that towards a mortgage for the house service. The TFSA and kids will need an education fund. Not nearly as fun as well.
Starting point is 01:20:17 white fish yeah white fish life choices life choices we chose this we chose this path didn't we have kids they said it'll be great oh oh yeah so great all i want to do is fly to montreal for game three on friday but i got baseball at badminton oh it's going to be good love baseball very good uh okay couple other things to get to uh let's get to our bet of the day that's of the day that's of the day Yes. We're going, right. I'm telling you, we're having a good week. Not all weeks or good weeks.
Starting point is 01:20:52 We do encourage you to be responsible. Don't be all willy-neely slinging mortgage payments around. But even a to-y on a game, you can get a little more interested in what's going on. You want to get in on the action for the Stanley Cup playoffs? At Bet 365, they got you from game props. Of course, they got those player props. We'll see some of those. Totals and the money line.
Starting point is 01:21:13 You can even bet on futures, like series winners, conference champs, Stanley Cup champs and much, much more. Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary. At Bet 365, download the app, get in on the game, an official partner of the NHL's Stanley Cup playoffs must be 19 or older. Okay, parley's have been hitting lately. So look on the right. We'll go there.
Starting point is 01:21:35 Kings, Oilers tonight fascinates me because it felt like we watched two different games, two different series in game one. I'm going with the Oilers aren't going to shut them down parley, which is a point for byfield, a point for Fiala, point for Kempick. A lot of power play reps together, a lot of five-on-five time together. That five-four power plays are pretty good. It's Kuzmenko out there. And then I also am going with the, the Oilers Stars are still going to be the Oilers'
Starting point is 01:22:00 parlor. That's a separate parlor. That's McDavid with two points and Leon with two points, because really no one else is really pulling the rope. They have to drag the rest of the team with them. Plus 220 for the three kings to get a single point, plus 240 for the German and, McHasus to each crack two points.
Starting point is 01:22:19 I also don't have it here, but I'm on the over, which would fit in nicely. Six is your total. As you can see on the left. Other games, caps, quite heavy favorites. Well, no, that I wouldn't take a cut at the habs to even things up heading home. We'll see. And the stars, big dogs on the road as, well, the abs,
Starting point is 01:22:40 the Landisog, Home Ice, Last Change, minus 200. they heavy favorites in Denver tonight. Anything you like in there? Catch your? It's 200. Canadians. You like cabs tonight? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:56 Retro? Stars. Oh, really? Take a lead. Goodness. And I believe this is our first game three. So, uh, stars and abs pacing us in terms of, uh, progressing into the series. Flash up that schedule again tonight, Jack,
Starting point is 01:23:16 because we got to lay this out. Where's our, uh, you're popping corn. You're getting nachos going whatever it is. Burgers. It's nice out. You could grill some burgers. I make a hell of the burger. My, uh, my uncle from Ontario is out.
Starting point is 01:23:31 I was really hoping he, we had boilers. I actually, uh, Ottawa, Toronto tonight. We don't. But my sister's got us all coming over. She, here's the, here's the deal. Uh, ribs. chicken, homemade mac and cheese. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:48 Brother and his wife bringing salad. I'm on ice cream duty for dessert because she knows I'm inept at all things kitchen and my better half's down under, mate. What is going to go with? We're going to go get a couple of pints of ice cream. Probably stick with a real nice vanilla and then maybe a salted caramel. Well, Till's just down this. There's a few other ones around here.
Starting point is 01:24:08 It's not bad. Marta loop's so easy to get around. So I'll just pop right over. It won't be a problem at all. What's your feature? game. Let's rank these games, terms of interest. I'm going... One, two, three.
Starting point is 01:24:17 I'm going to three, two, one. Yeah. Av stars will be the best game. Should be. They've been contested late. The other two, they might... It's good slight?
Starting point is 01:24:30 Yeah. I like it. Enjoy the games and, yeah, are you sleeping in the bedroom? You're on the couch these days? In the basement? I go over a woman. The mastermind to me.
Starting point is 01:24:42 Are you, have you addressed that snoring issue? I was told, the day I wasn't snoring, so I guess that's a good thing. Very nice. So the woman that you live with said, the snoring's been good. Well, she said, I couldn't sleep, but it wasn't because you were snoring. Right. So you might have been snoring, but it was something else keeping her up.
Starting point is 01:25:01 She was thinking about the bills or something like that. What are they going to do around one of the draft? I don't know. She's worried about quarterbacks. Yeah, there you go. If you've got a snoring issue, there are treatments available at outdoor dental. Our pal, Dr. Jay Patel's been doing this for a while. they've got this incredible Salaelaela laser, which they use for all kinds of dentistry things.
Starting point is 01:25:21 This is bringing a homeless man to work day. I don't know who that is in the video there. That's terrible. It's a lot of hair there. Geez, forgot how much that was. Two 15-minute treatments will increase the tension in your soft palate to reduce snoring. It's non-surgical. It's pain-free.
Starting point is 01:25:37 There I am in the video. I got it done. It was incredibly easy to sit you back. You're watching the TVs on the ceilings, 15 minutes in and out, come back a month later 15 minutes in and out. Significant improvement in snoring, my better half will vouch for that. And that means everyone is sleeping better.
