Hi, you, buddies. Welcome, one and all to another edition of Barnburner here with Flames Nation. It is, it's bummer, it's Warner, it's Pender here on a glorious Wednesday, the 13th of March. Have we figured out what the Ids of March is yet? Do we know?
Yeah, you were saying something yesterday, Rhett. Have you done some research?
I say it every day in March, because I don't have a clue what it is. Iides. Iads of March.
It feels like we're in it, whatever it is. Do we think it's good or bad?
It's probably bad, right?
Was an event that happened?
Is it a time of year?
Is it a mood?
Who was the big, the king of Rome there?
Donald Trump.
Caesar?
Yeah, J.C.
That's our boy.
He got taken out.
Really?
It was marked by several religious observances.
It was a deadline for settling.
Roman calendar.
March 15.
And notorious as the date of the assassination.
The fascination of Julius Caesar.
It is a deadline for settling debts in Rome, traditionally.
So, you owe me 100.
You owe a bottle to Frank.
Frank.
Boom, you owe Frank his jacket.
Everyone's going to clear their debts by the next two days.
I sold that jacket on Kajiji long ago.
They're so expensive, right?
Get good money for him.
Well, sorry to J.C.
I didn't realize, so I'm going to say that's bad then.
That's you, Brutus.
You know?
And what was he doing?
A couple rusty shanks in the back and that's it for you, bud.
His boy Brutus turned on him, Dean.
This was the thing as he's dying with the shay.
A2 Brutei.
Is that, I mean, really?
Oh,
Mama Mia.
Because J.C., he's just like wheel around in a toga and sandals.
Yeah, that goofy thing in his hair, his head there.
Yeah, some Ivy leaves or whatever.
Or was he kind of a tyrant and got what he deserved?
I think it's all the above, Dean.
And they used lead pipes way back in the day.
The Roman aquifers centuries ahead of their time,
but the lead got into the water and people started going crazy at the end of the empire there.
Is that right?
I believe so.
Like what Nenshi did the Calgarians?
No, he took fluoride out, but close, yeah.
Oh, I thought he put, is it not he didn't put lead in the water?
No, I think he tried, but he couldn't.
Oh, he took fluoride off.
I think that was the people voting on it.
He wasn't his choice.
Anyway.
Uh, last night, Calgary Flames, uh, taking on the Colorado Avalanche.
I like that.
Oh, dear.
Yeah.
Did we, uh, was that last night?
We don't, we already did a show.
We can just brush right over this.
Let's just keep.
We did so much talking about this game already.
Goodness gracious.
6-2 final.
Could have been 8, 9, 2.
Uh, we know Jack is one of us now because as Dean pointed out last night.
He'll be in the comments before the show starts, Dean.
Yeah.
And he's just, he's, he's, he's, he's,
he's part of the fabric of this show.
He knows the terminology.
He has got great control of the lexicon or whatever words we're using here.
Yeah, yeah, that's fancy.
He had before the game started on the Flames Nation comment,
Goosh.
Yeah, one of the first comments in was from the page master.
It just said, goosh.
Yeah, that was a, a definite goosh.
Six to two.
You know what, rather than get into that,
You know, I know it's kind of a flames podcast,
and we talk a lot about the flames, but, you know, it's Wednesday.
So we could all use a little bit of sunshine.
Here, Julia Caesar got, got clipped.
Flames are just getting run out of the rinks.
Perfect.
Warner's sitting in Buffalo.
They're ready for spraying the flames.
They're darn.
When do the leaves come on those trees?
They, uh, soon, I think it's beautiful.
Grass is pretty green.
That's impressive work, Rhett.
Yeah.
Uh, so anyway, time to go on.
to the insider hotline, a presentation of Tellus, where you can enter to win one of six
monthly prizes, including tickets to Calgary hockey games, awesome tech like AirPods, Apple,
watches, and more. No purchase necessary. All you have to do is fill out a quick survey
to enter for your chance to win. Go to tellus.com slash flames contest. And for our good friends
at Tell us, we go to the insider hotline and say hi to Jamie McClennon, noodles, how we doing?
You're very fresh-faced. Were you in the gym this morning? Did you get a sweat? Did you
you crack a bead? I did. I got a good lather. I was in Ottawa last night and I flew home this
morning. Had a good workout just washing my clothes and I am off to Columbus this afternoon.
I'm going to land in Columbus and do my show and then call the game tomorrow and I fly to New York
on Friday morning and do my show and then do a noon game in New York and fly home Saturday night
and I fly to Ottawa on Sunday morning to call Ottawa, Carolina,
fly home, do my show Monday, and fly to Boston Monday night,
and call the game Tuesday.
So it's, and fly home Wednesday morning.
How nice?
My schedule.
You're well-traveled.
Yeah, that's, and you know every detail.
So you're either really looking forward to it or absolutely dreading it.
When you have that much detail this far out, it's pretty impressive.
I'm dreading it.
but it's because you guys are just talking about the flames,
the march of death and,
and,
no,
it's not what we said,
if you want to call it that,
I guess.
I'm going to say it's strong words.
I mean,
it is.
I mean,
your words,
not ours,
Jamie,
McLennon.
TSA.
You said you'd rather talk about weather
than what a team getting worked over last night.
And I watched that flames game when I got back to my hotel room.
And,
you know,
you're leading to one after first.
You're looking,
you know,
if it's a house of cards or not.
but there was some muscle flexed in the second period,
and it was Colorado that did that.
So unfortunately, my point was, you know, Ottawa was kind of,
they won last night in overtime, underachieved, bad season, all of that.
So now there's going to be lessons learned down the stretch here.
So we'll see if the young players will learn some lessons for the flames as well.
Okay, so you're on a bit of a misery tour.
You had Pittsburgh last night and you get Columbus coming up.
Like out of Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Columbus, the misery rankings, where do we find peak sadness in those three?
Because it's rough in Pittsburgh right now.
My God.
That's where I'm going to go number one because of they missed the playoffs last year by one point.
You add Eric Carlson.
You add, you know, Riley Smith.
You've added, you know, some players at the bottom of your roster, the Nola Chari's, guys like that where you thought your team was going to get better.
I'm a big Tristan Jari fan.
I think he's a really good goaltender.
He's got six shutouts this year.
That's not the problem.
The goal tendings not the problem.
They can't score.
Sidney Crosby is the only guy who's had a good season there.
You know, and everybody else is kind of a shell of themselves.
You know, Gino Malkin, I love him to death, but it's, you know, father's time is catching up.
I don't know if you saw Latang the other day past the McDavid through the middle of
the ice 60 seconds in the game when Evanton played Pittsburgh.
But that was, you know, an unfortunate assist that he didn't get a first assist for that.
But that was a tape-to-tape pass and McDavid put it in the back of the net.
Yeah, two of those on Kippernight, two noodles.
Lettang really contributed to the flames win here.
That's right.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
And you know what?
We were in the building there, you know, we're watching them being up three-one and lose to the
flames.
It just goes back.
So I would say Pittsburgh's number one on the misery tour.
Number two would be Ottawa because there was more expectation with that core.
And then, you know, I would say a distant third would be Columbus because it all started with the Babcock stuff.
And it hasn't gotten better all season.
You wonder with Latang as he gets older, it's like having that old dog when he can't hold his bowels and he just shifts in the carpet.
It's like, oh, that's, oh, buddy.
That's a pretty graphic analogy.
It's okay.
okay, you're a good boy, you're a good boy. You're just sitting on the bench. The young guy's
like, what is this guy doing? This guy's a friggin' hall of fame.
I love Chris LaTang, but it just, you know, and he plays 25 minutes. That's the thing.
Like, it's him and Carlson back there. They've got a couple of younger players, I would say,
but they signed Ryan Graves to a seven-year deal. That's year one. And he's a, you know,
kind of a stay-at-home, just kind of steady guy. But that team just, on paper,
it's supposed to look better, but it's not.
And, you know, they scored one goal last night.
I think they've got in their last four games, two goals.
It's not good enough.
So they got, you know, three more years of Carlson, four more years of Latang, two more
years of Melkine, and next year is Crosby's last year.
I never would have imagined another jersey, but I don't see a route forward for Cid
to win with this group again.
Yeah.
Unless they have, you know, some magical draft picks that come out of nowhere that just, you know,
bridge the gap.
but they don't have that because Jimmy Rutherford obviously went all in.
I mean, listen, there was a Pittsburgh fan at the hotel last night.
And he said, yeah, the game kind of sucked, but he goes, you know what?
Like, I'm still basking in the glory of how good this team has been for the last 16 years.
I said, that's fair.
Like, you know, if you're a fan, you've kind of been there and done that and seen that with this core.
It's unfortunate.
I just, I look at Sidney Crosby.
He still has game.
He's still a hell of a player.
He's still Uber competitive.
You know, he's going to be on that Olympic team on his own merit,
not just because he's a gray beard and, you know,
they're going to put him on there.
Like, he's got 32 goals this year.
Like, he's, I don't think he's going anywhere.
I think he's going to want to be part of the retool.
And that's, you know, I pender, I can see your face.
It's all crunched up.
You don't like it.
Well, I just like he's not going to win again.
It's that simple.
Like he's 36.
And he's one.
He has one.
And so the choice is now play on a bad team for the rest of your career or do the awkward thing and you might win again.
Like I would just love to see him and join Nate McKinnon and his old, you know,
Scotia Pal.
There's a bit of nobility there, though, right?
You come in, you were the highly touted guy.
Like you said, you live with Mario, you're taking the torch from that it's handed down.
You win three cups.
You've won Olympic gold.
You've done all there is to do in the game.
There's a bit of nobility to going down with the ship potentially.
And he feels like a guy that might be, have that.
kind of mentality. Yeah, I could go like Patty Kane went to the Rangers and then that didn't
work. So I'm going to, I'm going to chase it for a little bit. I wonder if he just, you don't hear
anything from him anyway. If it's just out into the sunset, number goes to the rafters, beloved,
and that's, that's the, if anything, maybe helps usher in a new generation. Like the one thing that,
you know, guys chasing it, you're right, Patrick Kane won and still was chasing it. Like,
nobody was mad at Jerome McGinla for going to chase it.
Nobody was mad at Ray Bork.
But those were different.
Like Ray Bork,
I don't think he wanted in his first year.
It was his second year, wasn't it?
Yeah.
So I think about it.
City Crosby doesn't have to chase anything.
Like he's,
you know, Alex Ovechkin,
so Evanton's playing Washington tonight,
Washington, their whole focus is,
hey, can we get this guy a goal?
Like that, we're trying to get goals for the guys.
He's 55 away.
from Gretzky.
Like that's Washington's thought process from ownership down.
Where at Pittsburgh, you know, it's kind of a, they're in between because you got
Sid still producing.
Gino's taking a step back.
Letang's taking a step back.
Carlson obviously wasn't going to have a hundred point season, but he hasn't been a
perfect fit there.
Their power play is 31st in the NHL.
That's crazy.
You can't.
You can't, you can't.
No sense.
I was watching it last night.
I'm like, how the hell, because they had a power play, and it was Latang and Carlson,
and they were playing catch.
And all I could think about is both of these guys are used to being at the top of the umbrella.
And it was Latang and it was at the top of the umbrella.
And Carlson's right-handed shot on a one-timer spot.
I'm like, he doesn't want to be there.
He wants to be driving the bus from the umbrella spot.
So there might be a little give and take, a little, you know, pull and tug there.
But I just don't, I don't know what breaks there because,
Carlson's a better player
or is a great player
Latang's a great player but it just
the puzzle doesn't fit
for that. It feels like in Zoolander
almost. It'd be like when they, oh sorry
are you here. Oh, this was my seat on the bus.
Oh, are you going to sit? Because I usually sit
oh, okay. Sit down at the dinner table.
Oh, are you at the head of the, because I usually
this is where I was going to kind of sit.
And it happened and I don't think anybody
thought it was going to work in Pittsburgh
when they brought in Carlson. He went to San Jose.
It felt like, okay, maybe. But they
got Brent Burns. Warner, you were on that one.
I went to the conference final. If he wasn't hurt, they probably won a cup.
Almost immediately. But, okay, but would they have gone without him? Did they get there
because of him? It was, it was a failure in San Jose. And it was a failure in Pittsburgh.
It was, Ryan. I mean, you, it was.
If he doesn't get hurt against St. Louis, I think they win the cup. So that's a hell of a swing.
Right. Okay. No, I mean, look, they almost won that series without him. He was limping around.
Like, do you remember that series? They missed him a ton.
Listen, Carlson's a great player.
I just sometimes think that the fit is, when you talk about chemistry and how guys fit together,
prime example is I think Ottawa, before the injuries and Tarasenko getting traded in that,
on paper they looked really good.
The fit wasn't there because I look at their left side defenseman, it's Shabbat, it's
Sanderson, it's Chickren, it's Bransstrom.
I'm like, who's shooting right?
Who's playing the right side?
So they, you know, they had all these players that look really good.
good, but you still have to make it fit from a chemistry standpoint.
And you can tell in Pittsburgh, the chemistry is not there between two great right shot
defensemen and the rest of the group, which is really weird because, you know, Malcolm and
Crosby, they've split them up on the power play.
They put them together.
Like, it's just, you know, Brian Russ is a good player.
And they had Jake Gensel there.
I can't imagine having five players out there and they're 31st in the NHL and the power
play.
It still perplexes me.
watching a guy like letang have you ever played with that anybody or has ever been someone that comes into mind where maybe it's an aging defenseman that starts making some plays um oh sorry this this right here that you know it starts making some mistakes on the ice and it's hard to watch and you feel bad because you love the guy but well they wasn't ret warner i'll tell you that because they the minute that red was always the best at the can opener the can opener with the push that's what it was the can opener with the push and
those the minute that that left the game you know ret knew it was time that was it like it's it's
because i i can't remember we scored one night the whole team went crazy like it just
overtime oh tony o monte tony o monte was was well no when you were on the team that wouldn't
have been that goal yeah i was with tony amonti i played with tony yeah well anyway jimmy was
coaching and he put me on in overtime and Tony
Monty was yelling at him on the bench.
Why in the F are we putting him on the ice?
And I was looking back like,
keep going. Are you sure?
Have you heard him? Can you hear him? Yeah.
And then what happened? And then what happened?
And then the funny part about it is J.P.
Dumont, who I played with the Buffalo. He's on the ice for
Nashville and he's lined up against me. And he's
talked to me about this. He goes,
as soon as I saw you were out there, I was like,
I lined up in front of the net with him.
And he's like, he told his center, just chip it past this guy and I'll blow by him and I'll have a breakaway.
We're good.
So he sprint, he just leaves off the draw and he's got me beaten.
And we kind of, it kind of wasn't a clean win.
And we kind of win it.
And it comes to the net.
And I happen to tip it and it goes in.
That was brilliant by Jimmy Playfair.
I have played with guys near the end, Boomer, to your point.
I played with Joe Newindyke and Gary Roberts in Florida, right?
And Newey had such a bad back.
I played with Wendell Clark on the island where Wendell had a bad back.
Like, you know, I played with legends at, you know, Pastor Prime,
but they were still legends and still producing.
I think I've told this story before.
One of my, like, and believe me, I've had lots of them very,
moments and like heartache and stuff. But the one where my heart hurt getting on the bus after
the game is we played in Toronto. And it's, you know, well documented. Matt Sundeen scored four
goals on me and had two assists. Toronto won six, five and overtime. I was playing for the Florida
Panthers. Lost in all of this, Joe Newendike had a hat trick that night. I had to go get on the bus
and walk to the back of the bus. This guy could barely sit down. His back was so bad. And I had
to look him in the eye and go, like, listen, they had 50-some shots. And it wasn't like I was a total
dog that night, but it was, you know, Sundeen had six points. New and I had a hat trick and nobody was
focusing on this great player who had a hat trick at 36 years old because, you know,
Sundin put a clinic on. But I have played with guys near the end of their career. And, you know,
sometimes it's just father time is undefeated, right? Yeah. Maybe near the end of his tenure, not his
career. Jacob Markstrom. Trade deadline hits on Friday. They play the Florida Panthers. He allows
five on 31. They have a playing pretty well against Florida, but then the Panthers take over as we've
saw, did it to Dallas last night. They can do that sort of thing. Vlodar then plays on Sunday. He
gets ventilated against the hurricanes. Last night, it's Vlodar back in because Markstrom is day to
day. And I guess I'm just wondering. Rett talked about it a little bit yesterday. It's the motivation.
What's left now for a guy like Jacob Markstrom? And I'm not saying he's faking an injury. I'm not
saying the team's hiding him. But I just wonder, I think there's 17 games left for the flames.
There will be an appetite to play Wolf and the baby play Vladar. I just wonder how many more
viewings do you get of Jacob Markstrom as a Calgary flame? Maybe he's here next year, but it's
it's feeling like the the milk is past due.
Well, I mean, it just seemed, and I hope,
I don't know the behind the scenes,
but it just seemed like if a deal either was imminent
and then it didn't happen.
And, you know, it's unfortunate timing
that he tweaked something or whatever
because I thought he was supposed to be the starter yesterday.
I thought he read that.
I thought I read that and then all of a sudden he's not.
So, you know, if you tweak something morning skate,
you hope that it's, you know, a couple days or a week or whatever.
But you're right.
Now there's bigger decisions to be made.
Maybe let's take a look at Dustin Wolf.
Let's see what, you know, he looks like.
We know what we have in Vlodar.
Don't you have to do that, Noodles, as an organization?
Like I think Connie's handled things quite well.
Yep.
And whatever.
But I can't imagine going into this offseason, not knowing what you have in.
maybe you do know Vlodar a little bit,
but I still don't think you do because he has a
He's barely played.
But regardless,
you have to get an idea what wolf is at least.
And I think even Bladar,
because you have to be able to make a decision.
Can you even move on from Markstrom if you want to?
If these guys can't handle any of it,
you're left with nothing.
You might not find out what wolf is,
but you've got to give them opportunities.
You have to.
I mean, I would say you leave the door open for him to get some starts here.
So their next opponent, unfortunately, is Vegas.
It's not like, you know, it's not Arizona or something.
But if you're at that point, sorry, I'm interrupting you again.
I think the flames are eliminated now.
That loss last night to me, I can't see it.
I just can't see it.
There's no way.
I mean, mathematically everyone always, oh, bullshit.
But and throw wolf to the, throw them in against Vegas.
Because what difference does it make?
Throw off to the wolves.
Wolves to the wolves.
But listen, I think there's an opportunity here for them to see what they have internally.
That's what they've been doing with some young players.
Give them a look.
There's no reason why they can't do that with Jacob Markstrom being banged up.
I think they have an idea what Vladar is.
Now they've got to see what Wolf is.
You might give them a run or you can go back and forth and have them stagger these starts
until Markstrom's available.
and then you sort it out at that point.
But I think you do need to get some starts for Wolf,
just at the NHL level.
Not only just for yourself, but for the player.
The player's been a hell of a player at the AHL level.
To me, he's too good for the AHL.
Let's just see what he is as an NHL player.
So, you know, just from-
That's six.
Yeah, but from a reward standpoint,
If you had a forward that was, you know, MVP of the league, one top player of the league, two years in a row, you'd be banging down the door to make sure he was in the NHL.
I think you have to do that with Wolf within reason.
I want to place him in situations like, would you like some handpick starts?
Absolutely.
But sometimes there's just not a perfect scenario.
This might be the scenario where, hey, Jacob Markstrom's banged up.
Let's look at Dustin Wolf and give him a couple games here because we know what Vladar is.
is for the most part as a goaltender.
And, you know, if that's going to be our tandem,
if we decide and Jacob decides with his group too,
because he controls the chips next summer or this summer,
if he decides to move on, this is our tandem next year.
So we've got to feel what this looks like,
unless you're going to move away from Vladar at some point in the offseason.
Well, and I think you kind of answered it there.
And I think I know the answer.
But with 17 games, let's just for the benefit of,
don't. Let's say Markstrom doesn't play again. Maybe this is an injury that just lingers. He doesn't
play. What if they split? If we see six, seven, eight starts the rest of the way for Wolf and he
doesn't perform particularly well, that can't alter your plans of the offseason for a Markstrom trade,
can it? I don't think so. I think what it does is maybe alter your plans for that individual
player. And meaning, you know, this Wolf remind me, he doesn't need waivers next year either, does he?
I'll check. I don't think he does. So maybe that's if he doesn't get to that next level as quick as you want him to.
Now, keep in mind, this is a team that has lost their top two defensemen and it throws the door off in there a long time ago.
And so this team is going to be shaped differently. So let's say he gets seven games the rest of the season and he's just okay.
I still think you give him every opportunity after having a strong offseason of working out.
and in one more year of mature maturation,
to give him an opportunity to hit the ground running next year.
I don't think you make your decision on next year's team
based on the stretch run right now.
And it's hard, right?
Because you don't have the body of work,
but at the same time you didn't establish a body of work for him.
You probably,
you maybe could have,
but because you don't know,
it's because you didn't find out, I guess.
Right.
Well,
and so what is a realistic timeline to say,
okay,
we've given the scoly a chance and you should be in NHL or,
I just don't understand this notion.
People are like, yeah, like give 30 games and we'll know what Wolf is.
It's like, did you watch the first two, three years of Kerry Price?
Like, like, how old is he, Ryan?
How old is he, Ryan?
Like, it takes a long-ass time.
Like, how many years, if you're a goalie coach, Noodle's, are you saying,
we're going to groom you into a number one.
Is it three?
Is it four?
Like, people think it's next year.
I'm like, what?
No, no, no.
It's two to three years easily because he has to make the NHL.
He has to show that he can stay.
He has to develop, you know, I would call it like the experience as to, okay, can he play 30 games?
Can he play 40?
Can he play 50?
That takes all time, you know, from a maturation standpoint, physically and mentally.
But that's where you, if you believe he's the goalie, the future, I'd be looking at a veteran guy to play with him.
That's why I think there's more of a scenario where it's like, hey, we'd love for Markstrom and Wolf to play together, veteran guy.
young guy, and then when Markstrom's ready or Wolf's ready to push through, you push him out.
That's what happened in Tampa.
Ben Bishop was the guy.
Vasilevsky pushed him out, right?
You see that in other situations.
There's young guy who's getting ready, getting ready, but he still has a safety blanket on the bench.
That was Matt Murray in Pittsburgh winning cups with Mark Andre Fleury there.
You know, the Renee Soros.
That's a good one because everyone loves the Scaros Wolfgang.
But, you know, Rennie's a boring.
a borderline Hall of Famer for me.
Not every team has the luxury of having a guy that can be like that to show a young
UC Sorrows.
Edmonton, I thought it was a good fit.
Again, I go back on paper, Jack Campbell was the right signing as far as on paper.
You had a guy who was available.
He paid him $5 million a year.
He was a veteran guy who played just a 49 plus, whatever, it was, six or seven, 56 games
a year before.
and Stuart Skinner was the young drafted, developed player.
So what happened, Skinner pushed Campbell out, wasn't ready for the big time last year,
and stumbled in the playoffs a little bit.
This year, Campbell's in the minors.
Now Pickard, who's 31, comes up.
Like I always like a young guy playing with a veteran guy.
The veteran guy can help.
But that's why, you know, I was thinking, well, Mark Andre Fleury would,
might be the perfect fit for Edmonton at the deadline based on an older guy who's done that.
but it might be just Jack Campbell coming up in the playoffs for free as a safety valve.
So I come back to Calgary.
Who's going to play with Wolf next year?
Is it going to be Vladar?
And do you trust that tandem to be Vladar help him along when Valadar doesn't have 300 games of experience himself?
You might just go with a young tandem.
Or are you going to trade for, or are you going to, sorry, keep Markstrom and maybe move Ladar out and have Markstrom and have Markstrom and Wolf play.
together and there's your heir apparent being brought along by your veteran guy.
And I think you'll need to really rely on your goal tending staff.
Because if the, if the decor doesn't improve dramatically, it could be a long season for
whoever's tending, the goal. So if Markstrom leaves and then you've got Wolf and Vladar,
you're really going to have to try and differentiate between, is that a save that an
top tier, a top 10 NHO goal? Does he make that save?
because Vlodar didn't or Wolf didn't.
Right.
Because I'm guessing that probably the scoring chances,
the quality of the scoring chances are probably going to be a little bit better
than they would have been when you had Hanif and Tanev and those guys in there.
Just in terms of recognizing what you've got might be, it's a harder chore.
It 100% is a harder chore because your team is not as good.
Flat out, your team is not as good with those two defensemen out of your lineup.
So, you know, you do have to put, you know,
the veil over top of it or just maybe have some perspective as to if if wolf plays seven games
and he goes two and five and his numbers aren't great you don't just write him off and go yeah he's
not ready to play yet how about place him in a situation the start of the season where he earns a job
but everybody is on the same page it's not patchwork you're not calling guys up like i still think
there is a long long runway for him but it comes back to what are you going to do with jacob
Markstrom, the rest of this season and into next season based on, you know, does he,
does he want to be the number one guy play 60 games? I'm sure he's a competitor. It's had a hell
of a season. He's still one of the best players, one of the best goalies on the planet this
season. So, you know, I hope maybe it's, maybe he's out one week and then they still try and
get rulesome games, you know? Yeah, honestly, I just, I kind of thought of it this morning,
not to say that he's pulling the shoot or whatever,
but I don't know that my appetite would be great to play down the stretch
if I'm Markstrom.
I have nothing to prove.
I've got a deal for next year.
They kind of traded me,
and then the deal fell apart,
and we're not winning,
and they brought,
so they've,
you know, dealt out defense.
There's really nothing in terms of NHL quality that's been brought back in.
I just wonder, like you talked about that appetite.
You talked about yesterday,
the motivator cuff.
Is it?
Is the motivation maybe going to have a tough time finding,
especially if they're going to lose like this for,
it's going to be a tough road.
18.5, they've been outscored in their last three games, noodles.
Yeah, I mean, and it's like,
I don't care who's in that.
Like, those are going to be obvious for any goalie, right?
It's just not bad defensive.
It's not going to get easier.
You know, you've got, you literally have, you know,
Vegas right around the corner.
Vegas is trying to get healthy, but, you know,
they're, they're a team that,
that's right in the fight.
So they're going to be,
you're going to be in one every night.
And I think the biggest thing is if,
you know,
we talk about Markstrom,
I was thinking about it,
what do you think a guy like Nazim Kodry feels like right now,
you know,
Blake Coleman,
you know,
guys that got term.
And guys that played really well this season.
Career year Coleman and Cadre very good.
Yeah.
So those two have played really good hockey.
And they can see the writing on the wall.
You're 10 points back, and you've got 18, 17, 18 games left.
Markstrom's, you know, tweak something.
So now you don't have your starting goaltender.
Like it's going to be hard.
And they're competitors.
So they're going to dig in every night.
But, you know, in the back of their mind, they're like, man, man, like how close were we?
Like, how did this look?
This could have gone one way or the other.
And it's gone the other, unfortunately.
And that's going to be hard for them to be motivated right down the stretch.
And they get paid a lot of money.
So they will.
And they'll play hard.
they're pros, but I think about that a lot too.
And Rhett, you're a coach, put on your coaching hat.
A suspended coach, yeah.
He is, yeah.
He's terrible with emails, Jamie.
He's just terrible.
Anyway, you kind of feel for Huska because he's coached his ass off this year with
this team.
And now, I mean, I think it would just have to be realistic.
Like, even if you're husk and you're in your own head,
I think you have to be realistic.
and sometimes you're so close to it,
it's hard to be that way.
Like he needs to come on our show
and just hear, like,
and I'm being a smart ass,
but I'm also being honest.
When you're in that room,
in the coach's room,
and down in the bowels of the dome
for a whole winter
and you've been going well,
your tendency is not to step back
and take a broad view of things.
Yeah.
And recognize that I've actually done a pretty good job.
Yeah.
And squeezing a little harder here or there
is probably not going to be the answer.
This is what we have.
We just, right?
And it's kind of like noodles saying,
these guys are professional.
They'll still go outperform.
It's just,
are they going to have that extra gear?
I don't think they will.
And for Huska to try and squeeze it out of them could almost be more of a,
yeah,
a friction point than a positive,
right?
And it's almost like making.
And you can't look like you,
like you've stopped caring.
You can't stop caring.
But you can't squeeze too hard, right.
You got to make it.
You got to read the room.
Like I, so last night I did the Pittsburgh
Ottawa game.
Over time, Jacques Martens got
Zach of Stopcheck out
his first NHL game.
Do you know him?
Do now.
Played two world juniors first NHL game.
Mom's in the building.
Kids a big horse.
He's got 13 goals in Belleville this year.
You know, like I say, played for Team Canada
for a couple years and and he's a high prospect for them.
So he gets his first game yesterday.
And Pittsburgh's, you know, fighting for that extra point and he had himself a good night.
Near the end of the game, Jacques Martin had his line out there defending a lead,
had him out in overtime.
So, you know, I'm going back to Rhett's point is, you know, instead of wringing out the
towel of every veteran on the team, it's like, okay, I'm going to place some young guys
in situations to see, you know, to give them some, some experience.
on the job.
And it's not like I'm throwing in the towel.
It's like I need to know when the chips are down, you know, down the stretch here,
into next season early.
This kid has faced some top tier players in some real tough situation.
So that's where the coaching comes along where, you know, Husk might have to adjust his thought
process when he's defending a lead going, I'd like to see what the young kid look,
you know, looks like in this scenario.
Because usually I would have just thrown Hannafin and TANiv over the boards.
That's not the case.
And that might be come to Dustin Wolf as well, where it's like we're going to start him against Vegas because we want to see, you know, we're going to give him every opportunity to have a run here.
But it's just it's trying guys out in the organization within the structure of still trying to win.
I think they got like 36, 37 days.
And when we started this season and they were 2.7 and 1 and they dressed like Hicks to the outdoor game, you thought it was going to be hundreds of days of miseries.
Like all in all, I think you ask your vets to be pros for less than 40 days.
Like I, that, there are many bigger asks that have happened in this league this year.
There's ways of making it fun.
And I don't mean fun.
Like, let's go to the bar every night and hang out.
Make, make it about everyone having some type.
Here's the standard.
What I say to the kids?
Fun, not F around.
Right.
Let's have lots of fun.
That doesn't mean fuck.
around. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that to me, that would be my advice to Huska is if they're all
having fun coming to the rink and you can ignore the results, you're winning. Yeah. Because you're
going to get honest efforts from guys still. Yeah. You leave it out there. Like that's what I
would say to the guys is leave it out there. Give me what you have. And you know what? We're going to,
we're going to go down swinging here and have some fun. I mean, I think I'm trying to remember the year.
when was the year that Darrell came in and he took all of us bets in, like near the end of
there was five games left in the season.
I don't know, Red, you might have been too young because you weren't in that room because
it was myself, Marty Jelina, Dave Lowry, Craig Barubi.
I'm trying to remember who was all in that room.
Oh, 203, his first year there?
Yeah.
He came in midseason.
They missed the playoffs.
He'd never missed the playoffs of the full regular season.
And next year was the year he made the jump.
but it's got to be that year.
So he came in mid-season,
but was he the manager?
I think he took over as general manager.
So we had five games left in the season.
And he said to everybody in the room,
he goes,
what common denominator do all of you have?
We're all looking at each other,
and I couldn't figure it out.
He's like, you're all over 30 years old.
And he said, basically,
you guys need to be pros.
I'm going to hold you to task.
you need to keep that room in check here.
I do not want to see anybody mail it in the last five games.
We are going to finish strong, almost to what you're said, Rhett.
We're going to finish with some bite.
We're going to try hard.
We're going to work hard.
And I want to set the tone into next season.
But he basically said, you're 30 and over.
You're the core.
You're the leadership group.
And it was almost with an undertone.
It's like, you won't have a career if you made.
You're also the easiest to replace.
place.
But he never said it, but it was like, kind of implied.
It's like, okay, I'm the manager.
I can also make you disappear too.
But it was a really good talk because we all took it as like, okay, it's a challenge.
I'm challenging you guys to make sure that nobody packs it in here.
I don't want to see that.
You take pride in the organization.
You take pride in the team.
And we did.
I don't know what our record was, to be honest, we have to go back and look at it.
But we all, we pushed right hard to the end of the season.
And I think that's when I talk about Coleman and Uighur and some of these,
you know, really good players that have had great seasons.
You know, Cadry, they're going to have to really push to the end of the year
and keep themselves motivated where there might be some rough times ahead.
I think the pitch to Cadry fellows, it's like, geez, what did I sign up for?
It's like, well, hey, Nas, if you play well, maybe we can move you this summer.
But certainly not if you're going to pout for the last 17 games.
Yeah, that's true.
You know, I think there's, I think,
like Coleman three years left on your deal,
score 30.
We can move a 30 goal guy.
Yeah.
If that's what you want.
Well, I think there's,
I think everything's on the table in the off season,
but you've got to get there, right?
And the question marks are in net,
you know,
if Markey's more banged up,
then what are you doing with Wolf?
You know,
who's going to establish themselves on D?
They've got decisions to make up.
Is Shillington's deal up?
I think he's an RFA.
Yeah, you've got a work to deal with him.
So you've got, you know,
you've got some decisions.
to make internally before you start to try and build the group up or move assets in the
offseason.
And see, I'm looking here at those final games from 0-203.
There is, uh, tell me we went 0 and 5.
No, I think you played well.
If I remember, I was that game made that year.
I think you beat L.A.
And a close one.
Columbus got you six to four.
Uh, you were in net and got no run support and a three nothing lost to the Minnesota wild.
See, isn't that how it goes, Jay?
Did you get me, just get me one, guys.
Couple bad goals maybe.
Yeah, there was a, God, this tells you,
a two to overtime tie against San Jose.
Oh, that's a long time ago.
Tie?
You beat the Kings in overtime two to one,
and then beat the Oilers 4-1 on the final night of the season.
There you go.
We'll see.
Finish strong.
But I just remember that conversation from the coach saying,
listen, you guys are in your 30s.
You know, I want to see leadership.
I want to see you guys finish strong.
We're not mailing it in here.
You know, we're not making the playoffs, but we are setting the tone and, you know, take basically
challenge us.
Take pride in yourself and the organization.
And we did, which, you know, I think that would be probably the message that you send
to the guys down the stretch here too.
I literally remember that last game.
I thought it was L.A. it was.
They went on the road for Evanton for Game 82, but there was hope coming out of that
building.
I think they'd sold out their last 10 games, which hadn't happened in ages.
Darrell had turned things around.
and there was a belief that maybe just maybe next year could be a year that this group makes a significant jump forward.
Now, we didn't think six seed cup final, but it was a return to respectability.
And I literally remember leaving that building.
And it's like you've got your own and it looks like you've got a coach now.
Yeah.
Well, that was the truth.
I mean, you know, Darrell, you guys saw, and we talked about it last week, you saw the evasion that Darrell got.
You know, Rhett and I talked about the respect in the room that Darrell gets.
That was, you know, he was hard.
Yes, he was hard.
You know, there's some mistakes he made along the way.
But, man, he's a hell of a person, hell of a coach.
And, you know, he took that team the next year to the newer heights.
But, you know, I think Huska's done a great job this year.
I think that coaching staff's done a great job.
You know, now what do you do?
What are you going to do in the last 17 games?
I would hate to see it.
You know, I don't want to see them wilt.
Like last night, I mean, Colorado's a hell of a team.
Carolina is a hell of a team.
Florida, before that.
Florida, like, yeah, I'm sorry.
So when you start to look at these teams,
you've got to be, you've got to see how you match up.
But if you're matching up against somebody in the standings,
the Anaheims and San Jose,
you better not be taking a night off
and giving up a bunch of chances and goals against.
All right, pal, we'll let you get out of here.
We know you're busy.
So you sound like you might be busy.
I've got a few things on the go.
I've got a flight in an hour and 50 minutes.
Get moving.
Jeez.
Okay, thanks, Nuddles.
Oh, good.
A special VIP lane there or what?
There you go.
I'm not a person with that.
Poor guy.
Busiest guy ever sitting here talking with us.
It is TELUS, of course, with the TELUS Insider Hotline.

gives back.
Last night on Afterburner,
Rhett, we had noted, like,
would anyone be shocked or surprised
if the East final was Florida,
Carolina,
and if the West final was Colorado, Vegas?
No, especially out east.
I really like those two teams.
I did.
And Colorado looks, like,
the way they flexed, like he said,
and they did.
And everyone uses that term,
and it's kind of an odd term.
But it's true.
And they just decided,
okay, we're going to step it up a notch.
You're not going to be able to keep up with us.
Oh, yeah.
And Vegas is going to get healthier.
Hurtle, Mantha, Hanofan.
Like, they're not, certainly not a pushover.
Like, those are four teams in a row for a club that just shedded a second pair.
And then, oh, by the way, Markstrom's not feeling good.
Maggapani, ill.
Kuznetso, Kuzmenko, excuse me, a late scratch.
Like, that just was a mismatch all over.
And four games in a row.
They're going to look like shit because, of course, there.
It's four cup contenders in a row.
You would love to have that switch that you could flip.
because you think of Jared Bednar,
come into the room after one.
So we're down two to one.
I don't need to say more.
Do you remember the last time they played?
They were down going into the third by like two and won it in regulation.
Yeah.
Yeah, they played Colorado Vegas back to back.
I think Tanna got hurt in the first couple moments of that game.
But that's twice now where they've just taken the game in a period and said,
no, this is ours now.
Good try.
And just elite level stuff.
Let's get to the net and crash and bang and knock the goal.
over. No, let's do some one timers and put it in the roof and some breakaway passes,
middle stat. You get in behind the D and go in alone and then like, holy shit.
Like it was a, it was a festival of, of skill for Colorado.
Five three flames after 40 way back when they were in Colorado. Colton, Rantanin,
McKinnon, three goals in less than four minutes. Avs win six five.
Rantan is a stone cold killer. Like there's no emotion there.
He doesn't seem to move particularly fast, but he just scores and makes play.
I said to Ryan Lassay, it's like he's playing Beer League.
I'm just going to, I'll get in across the line, and then I'm just going to pull up and kind of rag it for a little bit,
and then I'm going to make a pass.
Two goals, two assists.
Jesus.
He made a move.
He received a pass in full stride, and as he was, I forget what it was, but he put it through a guy's stick and his skate.
And while he was still, and then he put it through the stick of the skate, and then immediately into a pass defeat.
like, do you think that or are you just doing?
Like, what? How?
Yeah.
Effort, making it look effortless.
That's the guy you draft in the top 10 guys.
That's the guy you draft in the top 10.
Come on.
Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.
Just one of them.
Just one, please.
And 6-4-215.
Ox.
Well, just slow them down.
We'll stop them.
Okay.
Sure.
Yeah, we'll do that.
Yeah.
And their fourth best player, probably?
Maybe their third?
Like, what are we talking about?
Well, he might be quietly higher than that, but you're right.
Yeah.
No, I mean, he's not better than McKinn or McCar, period, stop.
And then, yeah, now it's a discussion for who's the third best.
Yeah.
It's wild.
And McCar is so fun to watch.
It's just he's, he's also a guy that's out there having fun.
How he only had one point last night is quite remarkable.
That one play where he keeps the puck in, he's on his forehead and can stop it with,
no, I'm just going to reach down with my glove and get it.
and then I'm going to wheel back and then I'm falling down
and I still get a shot on goal.
I was convinced he was going to score there.
I'm like,
this is the kind of stuff that he does.
He kept it in and now he's going to score.
I love the all time played the number of games,
number of points and it's like,
yeah,
Bobby Orr has been better.
End of list.
And even those are starting to fall to the wayside.
It's,
oh, so you're.
Yeah, he's played 299 games or something like that.
And it's like through 300,
or is ahead of him.
nobody else.
And it's like he's a one-man zone exit.
It's like, yeah, just give it to kale behind the net
and we'll meet you in the ozone.
I'll be at the far post.
Not too bad.
Fun.
We are talking about last night's game,
the six,
yeah, six two defeat for the Calgary Flames.
Opening statements for McLeod Law.
Shane King over at McLeod Law,
partner in the litigation and dispute resolution group.
What does that mean?
Well, have you lost your job laid off,
terminated?
It can be tough emotionally.
find out, you know what? Let Shane go to work, review your situation, make sure that you have been treated fairly and as the law requires, using a practical approach, talking to you in plain speak, not legal jargon. Shane's a great guy and great at what he does. Get him working for you like anybody else at McLeod Law. Good, just good downhome Calgarians and the best of what they do, McLeod-dashlaw.com. So yes, the opening statements, if you will, of Ladars, we were kind of joking yesterday that he was against the hurricane.
he'd be like,
do you want to make a goalie?
Did you want to take me out?
And I think it was kind of the same.
I think he knew.
He's like,
I'll just get to the end of the second period.
And then I can take these skates off because my feet are killing me.
I'm flopping around.
And he was good to start as well,
made some big saves.
We talked about the Nchuschen save and the pad save on McKinnon.
Yeah.
Keeps a 2-1 at that point.
And that's kind of what I was when I was saying with Jamie.
So now you can start to say you spin Wolf and Vlodar through.
you're going to have to be an astute judge of talent in the goaltending department
because you could look at eating six on 35.
Oof.
Okay.
Well, what are the quality of scoring chances?
Yeah, that's where you go to your goaling metrics.
Right.
You need.
What are our goals, expected goals last night?
Like, Colorado's expected goals last night would have between five and eight.
There's no shame in allowing six there.
You're like, don't worry about the traditional numbers.
They don't say shit about breakaways and two-on-ones and wide open backdoor looks.
they've got data that they can skim through.
But you know what I mean, right?
So you can look at that and say, okay,
well, you're on the hook for six,
but really it was one of those nights.
Okay, but what should we have expected?
A lot of goalies would have led in that.
What's, you know, what should you have had?
What shouldn't you have had?
I don't care of it's Don Hassick.
That's a bad night for the goalie last night.
It just is.
But you know what I'm saying.
I do.
Anybody can go in and get there.
Anybody would have got lit up,
but that doesn't tell you how,
he is on on the positive side.
Does that make any sense?
Yeah, it would be goals saved above expected.
The expected environment's dog shit.
So how did he do compared to expected?
Was he better or worse?
That's literally what that data does is it says,
how risky was the environment?
How did he do compared to that?
Don't look at a save percentage or goals against.
That doesn't tell you shit about equality, right?
Tough night.
No fun.
Like if Markstrom's in there, how different is it?
It's like five, two?
Like, what are we talking about?
You're four or two, but you still got dominated.
Like, it's a loss.
And you, like the great A's, they'd be in the 20s, I bet.
And then Wolf comes in for the third, and they had taken their foot off the gas completely.
Like, they had three shots.
They just, let's not get injured.
We got to play another game after this.
Let's, uh, yeah, it's first of a back to back for them.
I, like, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of the third and fourth lines.
Get, buckle up here, fellas.
Yeah.
Yeah.
One more of these.
And then you got someone from your pool.
Be pool.
the non-playoff pool in Montreal on Saturday.
Miramanov got his first goals of Calgary Flame, right?
Big shot.
Eight shots.
You kidding me?
I didn't know he had eight shots, but I knew he had a big shot.
Big shot.
I didn't know he had eight either.
I looked at the game shot.
I'm like, holy!
But should I say it?
Do we have the bell ready, Dean?
Well, what is it?
The bell or the shovel or what are you?
The hammer?
Toolsie.
Oh, God.
I said, we need to get some.
Because everybody's toolsy.
Everything's toolsy.
I've heard the word toolsy more in the last two weeks.
I've got to have some kind of a toolsy counter,
the ticker on the bottom of the screen.
Two, three, four.
Yeah.
That's what Connie's doing, right?
He's like, let's go make a bunch of bets on some high-end skill
and guys that aren't finished products.
And maybe we can finish them.
You know what else had a big shot?
Michael Stone.
Michael Stone.
Robin or gear, if you ever got it off?
Whatever.
I mean, good for him.
He scored.
you're shooting the puck.
I know.
I was going to ask you,
is there any way to about,
that's the other thing too.
If you look at Hanley,
Pahal's been around a little bit longer,
but it's two two games for Miramanov.
What do you have here?
There's no way to know yet.
No way to know.
Against these teams?
You just see, okay, I saw,
there was a good player.
And that was,
that was not so good,
a play.
Yeah,
so what you heard about him before he arrived was,
you know,
it's a converted forward,
great shot, moves well,
defending's a bit of an issue.
that's nothing has gone against.
I'm not sure on the moves well.
It looks a little lumbering to me at times, but.
So it's like, yeah, I'm just, yeah, he's got a big shot.
He's a big body.
Used to be a forward.
And he's Toulsy.
Don't forget.
Tulesy.
Toulsy.
But I, Hanley and Pahall are not Tulesy, just so we're on the, uh,
they said on the broadcast last night about, uh, Hask is saying, you know,
you're going to have to, the decision making, some of the things are going to have to speed up.
for Miramatov, and I think that's
kind of what you notice is that it's a little bit
slow, get track it back at the puck, things are
a little... 29 games
in three years, of course.
Get her going. He's
only played 29 total games.
In three years.
That's what we're watching.
Is a guy that's jumped into the fast lane
for the first time. Like, he was the eighth defenseman
in Vegas all year. So,
you know, for him, now it's like, hey, slide into some top four minutes.
It's like, holy fuck.
Hey, if you're asking me,
did not pass judgment with it?
I can do that. I can wait.
I'll wait it out. So, and then
on top of that, it's the converted position. And then on top
of that, it's a knee injury that costs it. It's a real of it.
It's just to play them.
And remember when we talked about Dougie Hamilton
10 years ago and you're like, just play the guy.
Like stop worrying about his mistakes and play the shit out of him.
And like, just play.
Yeah, but I also don't need to hear all he's been
injured and he's switched positions.
Well, that's what you did. And that's what happened.
So yeah. And the Dougie thing, he was a
first round pick and was clearly
play he deserved more ice time that's i no i're managing his ice and it was stupid and i don't care we don't
need to fight about that even it's if with mere man play him go ahead exactly go ahead i don't give a shit i don't
but i don't need while he's converted forward and he plays fucking defense now play him yeah the whole thing
is just like he's hardly played so play the shit out of him yeah that's that's and i totally fine and i
but you can and he'll still be shitty and i still won't judge him because i'll be like well he's just he's he's
He's barely got his feet wet.
Like that's the thing.
So play him, but are you not allowed to assess his performance?
I've got it falls back to, well, he hasn't.
You know what?
It's almost like Noodle said with Wolf and stuff.
Let me assess it at the end of the year.
Play all these games and play 18 minutes or how are,
I don't give me shit, how much you play them and get there.
And at the end of the year, I'll sit down with all my scouts and the coaches and the GM and everyone else.
And we'll go, okay, what did we think?
Because on a game to game basis, what the hell difference isn't it?
No, 100%.
And this is why he couldn't play in Vegas.
And it's why he will play here because you've got to figure out what you have.
And if you have a quarter of a season, he'll have 20 games here.
Like, that's a quarter of a season.
Now we can look and say, okay, was there improvement?
Did we show some gains in the areas he struggled in?
And like, you know what Hanley is.
He's been around long enough.
He's, you know what Pahal is.
This is the guy that's intriguing.
Paul's young enough, isn't he?
24, 25.
I mean.
Yeah.
But your manov's 26.
Right.
But again,
none of them are particularly young.
No,
no.
I just mean like the 29 games of three years is what you,
you wonder about his ceiling.
I don't wonder about Pahal and Hanley's ceiling.
Like they just,
they're seven,
eight guys.
Like that's why.
Hanley's 32.
He's much older.
But my point is,
is that those guys don't have a ceiling.
There's no elite skills that either of those guys have.
There's just none.
Miramanov does.
And so you're like,
okay,
so he's hardly played.
for three years.
If we give them a run,
can we round off
some of the rough edges on this guy?
And I totally agree.
I just wonder if you see
similar,
okay,
it's a depth defenseman.
If you get to the end of the season,
then let's say that you do
get a contract extension in place for Shillington.
So it's Weiger,
Anderson, Shillington.
And then it's,
Hanley's got another year.
how many bodies is Craig Conroy looking to add either by way of free agency or trade or are you?
The top four, right?
Like that's just the bottom line, at least one.
So maybe you go a couple year deal on a vet that can play number four minutes.
That would be getting offered number five minutes on a contender so you can pay them more.
But like you can't expect Miramanov to be a four.
Because that's what I was thinking watching watching this last night.
And we've talked about it even before.
And I didn't even really look at the minutes based on what the game was.
21, 20 for Anderson, Weiger, 21, 23.
But they've been in that 24 to 26 range.
You can't close to 30 on the weekend.
Right.
Like you can't go into a season.
It's fine to watch these guys play now,
but you can't go into an 82 game season with this.
You can say you can't, but there are teams that are doing it.
Yeah, I guess if you're trying to make the playoffs, absolutely not.
Well, not even that.
Just ice a
something that resembles an NHL top six.
Well, who, okay, go to the bottom of the,
go to San Jose's D-Pairs, go to Chicago's.
Actually, that's a great question.
And I'm, this is, again, I'm Huska.
I'm making it fun for you guys.
Name me San Jose's defense.
Yeah, okay.
Oh, my God.
Mario Ferraro.
Blasick still there?
Yep, Blasick still getting paid.
Honestly, God, I don't know.
Yeah.
Anyone else.
Yeah.
So, right?
And part of that is we don't pay attention.
We don't.
And they play late.
But the point is not every team has.
And I think maybe what we're realizing is,
they're pretty good.
They're a deep way to.
Their top four was one of the best in the league.
I believe that.
Like I've said that at the beginning of the year.
Like there aren't many teams that their three four were as good as this teams.
They didn't have the one, but they had a lot of two threes.
Hey, Ralph, why do you hate Yan Ruta?
Exactly.
Why do you hate Ty Emberson?
Who?
Oh, this guy.
Ty and I had a fallen out.
He actually, he's a flame now.
So he's no longer on that, San Jose,
flu.
We had a fallen out back in the day.
Yeah.
And so if you know that it's a good year to finish in the bottom 10 next year,
how hard do you push to find that for?
Or is it a guy that you think you can flip at the deadline,
eat money on,
That's what it would be, right?
It's how can be.
Dumbra to play the right side on a one-year deal and you flip them at the deadline, something like that.
Spin it forward.
Try and get a pick.
Yeah.
Down the road.
They got caps.
He's 20 million bucks right next year.
You've been asking for this year we go.
Let's go.
There's, uh, what, the old, uh, Harvard pal of Matthew Coronado, Henry Thruon.
They both were played together.
Came out of last year.
Pick them up.
Kaelin Addison was a high pick for the, or a high pick for the, or a high,
highly-touted guy in the Wilds organization.
He was in the Cochanan trade.
Watch your mouth. Yeah.
Careful.
Kyle Burroughs. He was like a six last year for Vancouver.
Jesus.
Is there anything else from this matchup last night?
Casey Middlestadt gets a goal.
Oh, yes.
Where was the slashing on Pospasal?
Where was the slashing?
The first penalty of the game?
Yeah.
It was right at the beginning.
He met, yeah, that was a horrible call.
It was fancy.
No slag.
My point is he.
didn't slash anyone.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What the.
And then it's one nothing on the power play.
That's right.
Well, that was a thing too, right?
You need everything to go your way when you're going to play Colorado.
They're in the box twice in the first four minutes.
Yeah.
And I didn't like, Cadreys high sticking?
His blade was on the ground.
How high was said stick.
Yeah.
And even it might have been, can you say that 94's number?
Bahal.
was it him that he somebody took a penalty there was someone driving the net and they called it
it was pahal where he skated where woods he skated through the crease and tripped on vladar's pad
yeah well paul's stick was extended it doesn't matter he's into the like it's i get what i'm not saying
it's a pal i'm just describing how the play was i tripped over paul's stick that got caught up in
vladar's gear going through the crees going to the net yeah my point is that's not a penalty that's not a
trip. He didn't take away the scoring opportunity. This guy's crashing through the crease.
There's sticks and bodies involved and you're going to call that? I thought the rest
were shitty is I guess what I'm getting that. If it's a trip, it might also be goalie interference.
Because it's not like he was directed or pushed into that. He just went straight to the blue
paint. Anyway, it didn't matter at all. It did not. It did not matter. It's wasted oxygen.
Val Natchushkin, horse, said it last night. He missed 22 games. He's
He's been back for two games, has two goals and two assists, just dropped into the roster.
That's quite an ad.
And if they could drop Landisoggin in May?
Good Lord.
Who knows?
That would be way more difficult, wouldn't it?
You're in the middle of a Stanley Cup.
He's played two years.
I don't think he's played since they left in the cup guys.
That's what I mean.
Like that's, it'd be wild.
But if you gave him to Chushkin.
But you do it.
Yeah.
Like, well, you don't get.
We don't get to decide.
You think you can make that work?
Like you,
first of all,
none of us or anyone else gets to decide.
Landis goggle decide.
And you know what?
I mean,
you're kind of squinting to find it.
But I thought posthal because I wondered.
So you got your suspension.
All eyes were on you.
You're the guy who hits but doesn't fight.
The whole thing has been said over the last week,
a week and a half.
I thought he was good last night.
I thought he had a couple of,
he had a scoring chance.
He spun and fired a shot on net.
He was still physical,
still involved because I wonder sometimes
with young guys and we'll see with Matt Rempe
when he comes back on his suspension. Are you
going to play the same? Yeah. Or are you
affected by it a little bit? That's why I didn't
like to call on. He's been suspended throughout his career. There's nothing
new here. He had an 11 gamer and
he ended up scrapping a fan.
He had nothing to lose at that
point and everything to gain.
He looked like
auspicil to your point, Dean.
Yeah. And I'm like it and you're saying
well, he's been suspended before, but it's different.
When you're playing in the NHL and if you
continue to get suspended or take penalties, then you lose your spot in the NHL.
I'm not saying he's going to.
And that was the only point I brought up the reffing, which is because I'm like, he doesn't
need the refs to give him shitty calls.
He'll get enough calls.
That's true.
Right?
Come on.
Don't give me the tiki tacky stuff.
I've got a few, I'm going to use here.
I'm going to earn that one.
Yeah.
I'm going to be full freight on a number of them.
I don't need the, the chinty ones for sure.

Pinder report coming up.
I did not look.
Ryan says,
great news in the inverse standings.
Oh,
what a nice.
God bless you.
We're back,
baby.
I can hear Tina singing right now.
There was some,
there was some exciting hockey last night.
Was there ever?
Florida was down,
Vegas,
the whole,
I mean,
Chicago.
Bernard.
We got it all in there.
Those buffalo sabers.
Byrams look good,
Ray,
hey?
Really.
good.
Oh, two more last night.
I told you.
Could you have traded in Lundholm?
We'll never know.
I mean, you could ask Connie, but
we'll never know.
Yeah, we could probably find out
Purdue.
That's got to be, and what,
what was the word of Middlestad?
Like, does he finally sort of broke through this year?
I feel like both teams could win that team.
Finally started to produce like they expected, so.
Now, is he center?
He's a sediment, right?
Oh, yeah, he's the second line.
How do you get those centers?
You got draft in the first round.
That's where Middlestead came from, too.
He just got traded, though.
Yep, so did I call.
There other number.
He did get traded.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But you couldn't give up Valamaki.
Ryan, God, you know, he just.
Our feelings are hurt enough.
Yeah.
We're in a tender enough spot.
Noted winner, Jack Eichel.
God damn it.
You give me one of those.
And the more you hear about that, it was like,
that the Flames deal was kind of like done.
And then Vegas came in.
It's like, hey, no, no, no.
That sounds like Kelly McCriman.
What do you need?
Pinia.
Which one? Do you want the...
God damn it.
Oh, sorry, wrong one.
God damn it.
Okay, there you go.
Village Honda presents the Pinder Report.
Village Honda, of course.
It's the Honda Civic.
It continues to lead the way in value, reliability, and performance.
The 2024 Civic received.
received a 10 out of 10 in car and drivers comprehensive vehicle testing.
The Civic Type Bar, the CivicSI, ranked number one and number two, respectively in the
Sport Compact category.
Check them out and more at your dealership for life, Village Honda.
Online VillageHonda.com, and they present, oh, darn it, I keep forgetting I got this
thing.
I hope I hang on.
Ryan Pindeendo.
All right.
Let's go to Afterburner last night.
Dean and I burned the Midnet Oil.
Jesus.
These have been some disheartening games for Flames fans to watch.
If you've sat through them, they have been outscored.
I believe it's 18 to 5 in the last three games.
They have now lost four or five.
It's the third straight loss, as we mentioned.
This is a roller coaster.
I just wonder now with the roller coaster, which way is it going?
Is there going to be many ups now or is it just kind of?
Well, the thing about a good roller coaster, like say Space Mountain at Disneyland,
you don't know what's ahead of you because if you can see it, you're not as scared, right?
This is the one in the dark.
Is it left, right, up or down?
I have no idea what's next.
Yeah.
And that's kind of how this has felt.
Four wins in a row, followed by four losses in a row, followed by four wins in a row, followed by three losses in a row, followed by five wins in a row, and now followed by losses in four of five.
Yeah.
Space Mountain.
RJ would have liked that one.
He's a Disney guy.
And that is indeed Space Mountain.
That is, yeah.
Claims Mountain.
If you knew what was coming, it wouldn't be a good roller coaster like Space Mountain.
But yeah, after the end of those four games skids,
they're like this team socks blow it up.
At the end of those four and five game winning streaks,
man, like why not the flames?
Chip on a chair.
Quite a ride.
Yeah.
Easier to squint and see it with that second pair than without it, though.
I'll say that.
There's your wild card fellas.
Ten back.
10 points back or 10 points back with 17 games to play.
Seems a lot.
Yeah.
And do you see who's the last team in the standings and who they're playing on
Thursday.
They could be 12 back right quick.
It's a proverbial four pointer.
A what?
Here's the scad.
There it is Vegas on Thursday.
Montreal on Saturday.
OV on Monday.
That's the homestand.
Six available points there, fellas.
Guaranteed win night.
Those are all.
Which one's guaranteed one night?
Sorry.
Because I saw three there.
No, and I,
those are all fun games to go to.
Yes, they are.
Right?
Like, losing isn't fun.
but the Montreal game has always got some buzz.
It's OV and the caps.
You get to see them once a year.
And it's Vegas.
And especially now,
is there,
they are the villains of the national hockey.
Like,
did you see Kelly McCriman came out and had to answer?
Why are you always trying to trade for good players?
Like he was asked,
he's like,
well,
we're not in on every good player that's,
but we identify needs and we try and go and get them.
I was like,
how come you guys are always trading?
You're like you're always there trying to get the good guys.
Yeah, the real question is how they keep landing all the good players.
Is that a question?
Is that a question?
Well, we like good players.
How hurt are these people is the other question.
And he bristled at that, uh, as he's done as media rounds this last few days.
I'll lacerate your liver or your spleen or whatever.
You'll see, yeah, you tell me if you're ready to play 21 minutes tonight.
Hey, pal.
There you go.
Uh, you noted it.
What a night last night.
And it was not missed on Twitter.
There's our boy, Pedro in Calgary, Unreal Inverse Standings Night.
Well, what do you mean?
Let's take a look.
Okay, so there we are.
I've done you the favor of deleting the three worst teams in hockey.
We know that Chicago, San Jose, and Anaheim.
There's three below those?
At the top above, really.
Holy cow.
About it.
Yeah, that's 32, 31 and 30.
Those are our, I mean, real contenders for the lottery balls.
No messing around.
Those are the real ones.
The second tier, Columbus, Ottawa, Arizona.
Can Montreal get their shit together?
And then look, all of a sudden, fellas, three teams right within the grass with the cavalry flames.
Two points.
They could leapfrog three teams.
Focus, Connie.
Hold the line.
I don't know if Pittsburgh's headed in the right direction.
They got one point last night.
Go throw that back up.
We'll talk about it.
Who else got points last night?
Montreal had a win.
They got a shutout victory.
No, is it Buffalo. They got a big win.
You're playing Buffalo in a couple of weeks here, Red.
That's a proverbial four-pointer.
And the Montreal went on this as a preferbivore.
Yes.
Washington.
Top eight.
Top nine.
Let's go.
Washington coming up.
They're going to keep them at bay.
Okay.
Speaking of Chicago, very bad.
Not last night.
They did get bad to try to get better.
And early returns on Connor Bedard,
the bubble has not.
load him, Dean, over a point per game
since returning from the jaundry wearing
the bubble last night,
a good night. Five points.
As an 18-year-old,
only four people had done it before Connor.
That's probably really good company.
Wow.
And look, rebuilds.
Oh, no one's going to show up. It's going to be boring.
Look at the fucking fancier, fellas.
Are you kidding me?
They're like, we are witnessing this.
He's pointing. He's like, that's the kid they told me
about. They drafted him and I bought season
this is the kid. He's doing it.
Hey, Chicago. Cheer up.
Yes.
Look at this. What a stud.
Playing with who?
Currishev and
Folino.
What a lot. Love in life.
You want to see some Folino? This is him on the bench.
I saw this. He's a good little riding shotgun with
the next year.
I've seen. Five years after I'm trying to tell.
So much to teach you.
So much to teach you, Connor. Like, I don't have enough
contract.
I'm going to have to, when my playing days are done, stay in Chicago to keep teaching him.
Yeah, for like five years after my, I don't have contract time.
I've got so much to teach you.
We showed you the clip where they were playing NHL-94 at a cellios night,
and filinos just giving these guys the gears.
That's some good stuff right there.
You talk about Wolf getting a veteran.
How about Badar next to a Falino brother?
That's good.
You need to have those guys, retro.
Yes.
That's what the Oilers didn't have, Red.
They needed felinos.
They needed felinos, actually.
You're right.
That would have been a huge ad.
That's one.
Highest scoring American
still playing.
Active player.
What?
Felina?
Yeah.
Highest?
Second.
So Kane, really?
Patrick Kane, clearly number one.
Felina has more points than Austin Matthews.
That would surprise me.
I thought that's set on the Sabres broadcast last.
Wow.
That's Rob Ray.
It can't take her.
Jeez, careful.
It's a good point.
It was.
and you have to go watch Mr. Razor's neighborhood
because that is quality.
Really?
Mr. Razor's neighborhood?
Excuse me?
We'll need to find this.
Join us tomorrow.
I can't explain it.
Okay, okay.
No, that's fine.
Some things are better left just not to explain.
Just watch it and react.
So we'll try to,
tomorrow, Jack.
Mr. Razor's neighborhood?
Yeah.
Another exciting young player.
bad. No PR's bad PR.
Absupt if it's a four gamer for elbowing a guy right in the head.
And it's your third game misconduct in your brief career.
It's good that that's kind of pixelated so that you don't see the elbow right on the butt of the jaw.
Yeah, this is just for the viewers there.
We're cleaning it up for you.
Four games for those that are just listening for.
Yes.
You had called five and I reminded you the can't you have that in person and you said, nope, let's make it four.
And that's a bingo.
Thank you.
That's a bingo, dude.
Appreciate.
Preci.
Vegas last night was nuts.
In Seattle, a little expansion rivalry.
They had the outdoor game this year.
Seattle's up four, two at one point in this game, if I'm correct.
Vegas gets it within one and watch some of the plays they make as they come storming back here.
Empty net, last minute of the play.
Not out.
Eichol with a good keep in.
Feeds it down low.
Marshal So scores on the Lamarchesau.
Watch this touch pass from Stevenson.
Watch the defense.
In front, it's deflected by Stevenson, and it ends up going right to Marsha.
There's another angle of this, fellas.
This is pretty.
There's Eichel.
There's a play.
Throw it to the neck.
Pink behind my back, right to the open man.
Like, what are we talking about?
What a trade that was for a bit.
You talk about that.
Stevenson has been unreal for them.
Yeah, man this year, but really, really good.
And if he gets back to what he looked like last year, and you've got Eichel and you already added,
mantha and hurdle.
How come these guys keep going for all?
You guys just go for all the players.
Why you want the good players?
Save some for the rest of us.
The Vegas overtime goal was also pretty.
Here's Jack Eichol.
Petrangelo is going to lob it up ahead.
Eichael and Carlson will get to race to the net.
It's Eichol and he scores.
What a win for the golden match.
Oliver Bjork Strand not happy there.
He's done with that stick.
And up a goal with 20 seconds left, Seattle loses.
Noted winner Jack Eichel, Russ.
He's liking life in the desert, like me, thanks.
He likes the tax, better taxes, less, sunlight, vitamin D.
He's got vitamin D out of.
Loves the, and loves Baccarat.
Does he like Baccarat?
I can play Baccarat whenever I choose.
Can't do that in Buffalo.
Can't a big government tell me when and I can't play Baccarat?
Did you?
I've played backrat.
Baccarat.
I'll wait for the Pender Report.
Well, no, because then you'll forget it.
Yeah.
I got an official invite last night.
Now there's your retirement?
To Regina.
By the head coach of the refrages.
Corey Mace.
Cory Mace.
Former Buffalo Bill.
Stan Peter.
I expect you to be making some trips out to Regina this year.
That's our boy.
He said, hell yeah.
More than one.
I'll be there for the playoff.
Two.
Just for the record, I'm going to take the under on more than one.
Dean, the line is that.
That's on how Macer sets us up in the suite.
1.5 over under, Dean.
That's the sub in the suite.
Under, yeah.
Then, though, we got to jabbering on the text messages.
Yeah.
Huh?
How did he say it?
The GM is from Lockport, New York.
Are the riders?
Yes.
Wow, that doesn't seem right.
Lockport,
which is where Nona lives is where you guys have been for Thanksgiving.
Yeah, yeah.
It's where she's stirring the gravy.
Really?
Where the gravy's paid.
Yes.
Isn't that something?
And his buddy.
Sorry,
I got a coffee.
I hope your seat.
His buddy owns a restaurant.
I got to go check it out.
You guys want to go,
Molinaros.
Mikey at Molinaros.
In Regina?
Regina?
No, Lockport.
Oh, Lockport, yeah.
Yeah, I was looking for something because I'm going and I was really looking for something to do.
And Lockport.
Let's go.
Check that box.
Small world, small world.
Calgary, Buffalo, and Saskatchewan.
You and Mace, just, best pals now.
I love it.
We got to get him in this summer, by the way.
O'Day is from.
Jeremy O'Day.
I had no idea.
I didn't either.
Guess why would I, but.
Well, you, part of your, you own the riders.
That's part of the owners.
I should maybe do some research.
Maybe we can make the decisions.
What's that mascot's name again?
Gainer.
Gainer.
Harvey.
Four non-flames games tonight, Dean.
I was looking at the schedule.
There are four games tonight.
The flames are involved in zero of them.
There's your slate.
A couple good ones.
We'll revisit with our door dash.
What's on the menu in a moment.
Now, NFL free agency is a couple days old.
Jack has been pumping his fist every like eight hours or so
as somebody moves in or out of division.
Very, very exciting.
Excited.
Now, we heard from Frank, he needs to decompress, calm down after, you know,
the lead up to trade deadline.
I think free agency is similar.
Did you see Schaefter's phone usage?
Yes.
There we go.
What are we doing here?
We got 14 hours, 58 minutes yesterday.
We're not so good.
Yeah.
Yeah, somebody was coming at all.
Wow.
Two phones.
I had no idea what my record is because I've never ever checked it before.
So I guess it is my record.
That's screen time.
That's when you're looking at it.
That's not like when it's in your pocket.
So between his two phones, 17 hours of screen time,
he's going to need some vitamin D you're at.
Get alive.
I had to break all the news.
It's a tough couple of work days.
He's got Candy Crush.
Is that what he doing?
He's hammered Candy Crush?
I downloaded a game for the flight.
I had to delete it mid-flight.
Too addictive?
Because it was so good?
I just,
I could not put some stupid,
like a candy crush.
What were you doing like a like balls or
were things dropping?
You had to move them.
Drops.
Drops.
I'm like,
I just played this for three freaking hours.
Like clearly these things are designed correctly.
That's see good for you for having the discipline to take that,
which you so,
you so enjoyed it,
but yet took it off your phone knowing it was going,
to be counterproductive to you doing show prep and getting ready for the program.
That's right.
I don't want to be distracted.
I'd never played Angry Birds before and we had it on a five hour flight last year.
As soon as the wheels were up right till landing.
I was like, whoa.
Are we stopping somewhere early?
We can't be there already.
If you, if you do things the right way, you can really do sweet FAA all day long.
Yes.
All day.
I'm tired of this one.
Now I'm going to go to this one.
Let's move.
Dumb shit.
Wrette, you owning the dirt bikes?
Not at the moment, but I'm in the market.
There might be one for sale here.
Listen.
Roger.
I hit the gas instead of the break.
Roger.
Jesus.
Yeah, that's on the break.
Now, can we slow that down?
Is Roger of the age where he should.
shouldn't be hanging out at home?
Like is this sounded like
kind of one of those
husband with getting a new toy.
That is hard to tell.
Roger.
Is that Roger millions in his retirement?
Roger.
Come on,
Raj.
Put the helmet on.
A lot of dumb shit out there.
This is a sport I never thought I'd see.
Can you describe
to the audio only?
Well, it's a one-on-one soccer game, Dean,
which isn't new. This has been happening for centuries.
The only tweak was instead of a soccer ball,
it's a 14-pound bowling ball,
which is hurting their bare feet immensely.
And dude's shin.
Well, yeah, anything that's touching the bowling ball
is going to not feel good.
Ooh, right there.
And then celebration.
He goes and hangs on the soccer net,
which probably falls down,
nearly takes his head off,
but instead probably just breaks his arm.
Is that part planned? Can't be.
Don't think you plan for that.
Look at that finish.
You plan for that in your life?
Nearly decapitation.
Yeah.
But certainly that's going to hurt your shoulder.
Yeah, bad shoulders.
You and that guy, maybe you get a volume discount on some stem cells.
Head down to Puerto Rico together.
I got a new scam coming.
You got a new scam coming.
I can't wait for that.
AI.
Dean, you're out of focus.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah, he knows.
I don't think we should be riding on the top of our car.
fellas and I don't think if we're gonna which we shouldn't we should have no one driving
just might get down and now into it and yeah oh that's see when you when you started there I thought
is that one of those like the ubers that you can get electric that have no the driving yeah
autonomous vehicle yes all he's done is yeah he's he was driving it left it and drive and then
got out and stood on the on the roof and so now he's got to okay i've given myself enough runway i just have
swing in like the action movie into the seat and then hit the break and i'll be fine
that ain't luke duke going to plan oh god that ain't the general e move i've got some really gross
stuff i might save till friday when you're not on the show dean i know how your life's tough
enough you don't need to be seeing dumb shit from me i had a guy yesterday come up he's like that's sure
a lot of crocodiles in the kangaroo's hey we had crock one and crombs
rock too yesterday. Jack labels it.
And my phone must be listening because
it's sending me crock videos.
I had a really nice rat foe today or a
I couldn't show you that.
There's a festival in India that they're eating some weird stuff.
I can't show you that. I'm worried about you puking.
Come on.
But I do have this guy who's having an issue with
his car. He needs to get to village Honda because he's got
something wrong with his car. Let's have a look.
Just set it on fire.
Look at the size of this thing, guys.
We are not.
Look at this.
I'm not doing that.
Yeah, I've...
That's my driveway.
You're pulling his tail.
Oh, boy.
Get out.
Get out.
Jeez.
Oh, Jase.
Yeah, so when they knew they're certified pre-owned at Village Honda,
You're not going to have that.
It's a guarantee.
There will not be a 14-foot boa in the drive-
The Toyota does a 120-point inspection.
On that, there is snakes.
How's the alignment?
brakes are good, everything, yeah.
Fluids are good.
Oh, look what we got here.
And, oh.
Yeah, I would just...
We're going to have to remove the snake before we saw this one.
Did I hear you come in the garage?
No, no, I came in the front door.
What, what do you?
I was I walked home you walked home well there was a snake in the car and I'm just I don't drive
anymore so you just left the car yeah it's a snake's car now he owns it he wanted it more than I did
squatters rights seared it yeah I don't want to fight him for it that's his car now you just left
the car with the snake you should just this is not a small snake babe 14 feet I mean it's huge
a boa so carpool finally you were talking about Ozies are built differently
Um, look at this cat at the party before we start it.
It's just the most Aussie of all Aussies and like,
just soak in the vibes, Dean.
Oh, nice, oh,
it's not a lot, but it's also not nothing.
This is just the most Aussie dude vibes of all time.
Party guy.
Jenga!
And he just knocks it right out.
One cut.
How about it?
Beautiful stuff.
How about that?
Getting lots of pre-owned the village lot.
None have snakes.
Snake-free.
That's your underpart.
There you go.
Yeah, huge selection of pre-owned vehicles.
All makes all models, no snakes,
with over 90 units on site and access to more than 500 more in the dealership group,
make Village Honda, your one-stop automotive destination in Calgary.
They are worth the trip, Village Honda, in the Northwest Auto Mall.
Did I see, you know, Jack, I'm going to put you on the spot.
when we were talking to noodles and
Rhett was kind of describing
the goal with Tony Amante
and J.P. Dumont and that whole scenario.
Did I see in the
did I see in the thing
that there was some visual evidence
of that?
Bobby Germany sent it over. Come on.
Is that right? That a boy.
So not just some crazy
story that Rhett's made up or
it's not CTE. It's not CTE.
It's legit.
CTSPN. So again, so lay this out for us. This is what, like what circa 2005?
Well, Tony Monti is on the team. So. Okay. So yeah, it's post. It's after the, uh, the lockout.
Yeah. And you are at home. Me play for his coach. So. Yeah. At home versus Nashville. It's overtime. Warners put on the ice. Tony
Amante says the Jimmy play for what the what are you thinking offensive zone face off at this
what are we doing that's a good question makes an interesting number the flames have outscored the
opposition 20 there's a chance in front of game of scores it's red water who scored water
winger yes oh boy look at the face the flames like you tricked someone
just dribbles through.
You got away with it, boys.
We got away with it.
Wow.
It was a shit eating green.
It's so good.
So that's a tangay shot?
Can I tell you that?
Slap pass?
When that puck came to me,
I considered taking the pass or whatever shot
and making a move.
And that's how fast the brain works.
Like pulling it to your backhand or something?
Actually pulling it over and,
yeah, taking it back across the crease
and going to the backhand.
which may have worked, but I'd have bobbled it.
It would not have worked.
Now, just so we know,
offensive zone face off overtime,
and Big D has put out Stefan Yel,
Rhett Warner, and Alex Tonguey.
Jimmy P.
And you're going to get to the net here too.
It's not even like you're backing off.
You go right to the net here.
Is this a set play, Red?
Did you draw this?
That's why Dumont had me tied up, right?
And that's what he said.
He goes, I left.
After he was starting to sprint down the ice because he's like,
right there he's like he will never catch me if i just if i go now yeah yeah and i do like the
shit eating grin because you know how ridiculous even you are on board with how ridiculous yes
what has just happened we did it boys we tricked them we got away with that first round's on retro
oh what a donkey you are love it well done thanks
I have the game sheet.
Find that for us.
The Greek gave me a, as a gift one time, he gave me that game sheet and a ticket to that game, frame.
It's all right.
Nice.
Yeah, that's, uh, something.
Roger Millions.
Red Warner scored.
Hey, what?
Why so surprised, Roch?
Wow, the shitting grin was also one of surprise.
It was, everyone was in on that one.
that's good stuff.
Poor JP thought he was on a two on O there.
Oh, he's like, if this guy wins this puck battle,
we are off to the races, curtains.
Mickey wants to know.
It's a good question.
Shit eating grin.
Who invented that phrase?
Yeah, like, are you grinning because you're eating?
Look at his avatar.
That guy's got a shit eating grin too.
Well, he's a pikey.
That's right.
You got a periwinkle blue caravan bot.
Yeah, I would think it would.
be a frown.
Chances are if I don't know that you would do it voluntarily.
If you're eating the,
the poop, I would think you're being forced to do it and you wouldn't be happy.
I got some for the Pender report for you tomorrow.
Yeah, yeah.
Great.
Speaking of that, did you have a video?
We were going to talk about outdoor dental.
Oh, yes.
Yeah.
And Dean's a laser.
So let me just get the context here because we've told you about the
Salaia laser and what it helps with Dean.
but this video has we've,
it's been vetted.
It's one of our boys that watch the show and they're okay with us using it.
All right.
So this is not a YouTube fine.
This is a,
this is a Barney.
This is a Barney.
Okay.
Well, anyway, so Outdoor Dental.
We've been telling you about it for over a year now.
Dr. J. Patel, outdoor dental,
they are an OG with Barnburner.
He said,
you know what,
we've got something here that might connect with some of your,
some of your fans, some of your listeners.
What is it?
It's,
do you think some of you think they snore?
Yeah. I think it would be finding ones that don't. That would be the challenge, quite likely. Outdoor dental, dental office, state of the art. They have the Solaya Laser. Excellent solution for people who experience dental phobias or it's just you can't, you can't bring it. No needles, no drills, no stress. You're relaxed. You're comfortable. It's pain free. In addition to the dental work, snoring treatments, two 15 minute treatments. You come once.
You come back the second time, increases the tension in the soft palate to reduce snoring,
non-surgical, pain-free.
Ryan, you've done it.
You've spoken to the pain-free nature of it.
Someone had reached out on social.
Like, how was it?
I'm like, it's helped a bunch.
Like, I don't notice the difference, but my wife certainly has.
She's like, it's a significant decrease in the amount of snoring.
It's not 100 to zero, but we're probably looking at less than a quarter of the amount.
Yeah, and then maybe you go back.
You know, two trips, 15 minutes.
A lot of it covered by dental.
If you got good dental coverage, like, why not?
And not just for you.
You're selfish bastard for your partner.
Yeah.
Feeling more well-rested.
Yes.
Life change.
So give it a shot.
Or, now again, we're kind of going in blind here on this video.
So this comes from Alex.
Alex says, Pinder, I haven't seen a snoring clip on Barnburner for a while.
In case you need one, this is my buddy from last summer.
He's given me permission to send it to the show.
I was two floors above him.
We thought someone was breaking into the house.
That's why insured on there.
That's a Friday, yeah.
Oh, that's no good.
You're not sleeping well, bud.
Our guy is snoring.
Who knew, huh?
He's out for sure.
Yeah.
But that's not quality rest.
No, that's not good for anyone.
You're not going to feel refreshed after that.
What do you think led to that?
That looks like a guy's golf weekend.
Just pass out on the floor in the basement.
There's more to the story there for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But what's the harm in getting more information?
The outdoor dental website is simply outdoor.
Dot dental. Go and check it out.
And then go have an assessment, get it looked at, give it a try.
It's 15 minutes.
You got 15 minutes?
Pain free?
Laser.
Come on now.
Go and see Dr. Jay and his tremendous staff at Outdoor Dental.
The comment section is definitely suggesting that that is not a sober sleeper.
No, it is not.
because that's not a bed shirt.
That's not paj.
No, no, no, no.
That is not a, that is not a bed shirt.
Yeah, that's what he was wearing.
Bed shirt.
Yeah, that's what he was wearing earlier that day.
Yeah, we played 36 today, 18 holes, and then the 19th hole 18 times.
Yeah, something like that.
Yeah, yeah.
Do you, uh, 17 games left, Flame season?
Yeah.
They played 65, they're 31, 29, and 5.
Still two games over.
17 to go.
How many more times do we see Jacob Markstrom in the Flames jersey?
Nine, I'll say more than half.
I would love it to be less, but...
Seven.
Dean?
I'm wondering.
Oh, I know, but you asked us to name a number.
What's your number?
I'm wondering, is there a chance at zero?
I'd say it's a very small chance.
Very small.
It's zero.
Now look, maybe like, I'm hurt.
Guys, I'm, I'm hurt.
You're hurt.
I'm saying for Markstra.
I've, I've been dealing with this for, I've, it's been, I'm day to day,
but I've been dealing with this for a long time and now it looks like the math is, I just,
I'm just not sure.
So if he starts Thursday, then we can dismiss that.
Would that be fair?
Oh, yeah.
Listen, it's just conversation.
Mm-hmm.
But we know that it did feel a little weird because he finished his morning skate.
Everything's fine.
He's been named the starter.
and then midday, like it does get your intent up a bit.
I'm with you there.
Kind of like the whole.
Going to be traded.
Jersie.
Kipper Day could have been handled better upstairs.
The whole thing.
Trade deadline passes.
The next game,
five on whatever it was.
And yeah, I just,
you got to be a pro.
You got to keep playing.
But I wonder where his head is at.
Because it's been a lot of him for the last two and a half weeks.
A lot of focus.
on him, not even how well he's playing. It's just, where are you going? Are you trading? Are you getting laid?
We've heard consistently he doesn't like the rumors and the people, the buzz around that sort of stuff. We've heard it all season long. And that doesn't mean that you can stop it from happening, but you'd understand that it's, it annoys him is what we're being told essentially. Too bad. Part of the thing, right? It's part of the deal. This is part of the issues I have with any of it is that if, what a goaltender. But if I have to cater to you that, like, holy.
I don't like it when I hear
they don't listen.
I don't care whether he likes or not.
I care when he stops the puck.
He's at a sensational year.
He should be a Vezna finalist, in my opinion.
When you factor in the quality of chance
they've surrendered this year,
he's been insanely good,
probably his best years of flame.
He had nine shutouts a couple years ago with Darrell.
That's part,
that it's part of what comes with the career.
Yep.
I think anyone who has any job,
there's parts of your job you're okay with
and there's other parts that you wish
were not a part of it.
Yeah.
When you're making 6 mil,
this is going to be part of it.
Pro sports, performance.
So you're evaluated by how well or poorly you play.
It's going to be part of it.
The only thing I'd say is 1,4 of his last 6.
This isn't a death spiral,
but he could probably see one coming if that's the way
you want to sell it.
If you're telling me he's furious or done with it,
is playing too well for me to sort of buy in fully on that?
Oh, it's not his play.
Yeah. It's just the reality sitting in.
Yeah. Well, I mean, maybe you're playing for a Vesna.
Maybe you don't care about awards.
But when guys are playing well, they want to get back out and keep playing.
That's kind of how it's going.
But the last one wasn't good.
That's the five in Florida.
Let's take a look at our Betway bets.
With Betway, live.
I mean, it's not happening forever, folks.
Limited time here.
You can get a free bet of up to $200 if your first bet loses.
Here's what you do.
You create a new account.
go on to your whatever app store, get the Betway app.
Scan the QR code on the screen, redeem your bonus.
Place a bet no minimum amount required.
And if the bet loses, you will get a refund of up to $200.
You can then use that money to bet on your favorite sports.
This offer only available outside of Ontario.
Look at how happy dude is.
Yeah, dude's jacked.
Hey, he's so excited.
I was like Jack when he heard Russell Wilson was coming to the Steelers.
He's just like, yeah!
We're going to be 9 and 8 again.
Woo!
That looked like Jack at the Jasper Pond Hockey,
except instead of green, it was red.
He was green for a bit there that one morning.
Yeah.
Red then.
He was red game one.
The next morning he was green for a bit.
He was no good that game.
Yeah.
You're right.
Scan the QR code on the screen and enjoy the action.
Here's what we got for you, Nashville at Winnipeg.
Didn't find a lot that I was, I don't know.
Nashville's been on this heater.
Yep.
But they have two, their last 12, if I'm correct.
Yeah.
Their last, they've had some overtime, some extra time losses here the last little bit.
I'm using the, you start playing poorly near the end of a winning streak before you start losing.
They have not lost in regulation.
Just going to go, the Winnipeg's at home, Nashville, let's see the street come to an end.
Minus one and a half.
There's not a lot of value, but so I'm going to go with the jets with at least a two,
a two-goal victory here at a plus 150.
And L.A. at St. Louis.
St. Louis there, too.
They had been on a run, cooled a bit.
And on the other side, this one hit for me last week.
Kevin Fiala in any time goal,
he has eight goals and 11 games.
And it's consistently, he had goal, goal,
didn't have a goal.
Then I think it was like,
goal, goal, goal, then didn't score.
He's not going more than a game
without a goal here for the last couple of weeks.
Did not score in his last game.
So I'm hoping the trend continue.
give me an anytime goal in St. Louis for Kevin Fiala plus 155.
Sorry, where was that game being played tonight?
Slat was most.
That's right.
Yeah, thank you.
I'm with you on the one,
Dino.
I've got also Winnipeg by a goal and a half.
The party ends here.
Winnipeg's been so good.
Hella Buck coming off a shutout.
They're at home.
And look, Nashville, if it was easy to win or not lose for 13 in a row,
we wouldn't be so hard on you.
It's been a really lovely run here.
But I think the Jets are real.
But we'll find out more about the Canucks.
They go to Casey to Smith.
Demko's out week to week.
Do the abs look taxed when they went to the dressing room last night, Dean?
Not particularly, no.
No.
In fact, they only played two periods last night, you could argue,
and that's more than enough.
I don't mind the abs in a back-to-back with travel,
and that's usually a spot where team struggle.
So I'm going to lay the goal and a half to juice that number up to plus 2-10.
That's the puck line, abs to win to Vancouver tonight.
There you go.
Those are our betway bets.
You don't need to use them.
You can if you'd like, but it's just that easy.
And again, go and hit the QR code on your screen, join the action with Betway.
You create a new account.
With that QR code, you'll get the bonus, place a bet.
And if the bet loses, you'll get a refund of up to $200.
Offer available only outside of Ontario.
Mm-hmm.
What's happening, Rhett?
It's a Wednesday in Buffalo.
I got to do the Zoom meeting, so I'm not suspended.
tonight.
Oh, you're going to get back in.
How did you,
did you grovel your way back in?
No, somehow I snuck in
just under the wire there.
Perhaps somebody maybe answered for me
was what I was informed of.
Now, can you lay out this?
Yeah, can you lay out this?
So you were suspended
and then you needed to make amends?
I was facing suspension.
Okay.
So then you needed to
kind of talk to the board?
I don't know what it is.
I'll have lots to report tomorrow if you'd like me to, I could tape it.
Yeah, I thought you'd explain it as all coaches that were going to the states had to be on a call.
And if you weren't on, you know, if you didn't respond to the emails, you would not be eligible to coach.
And so you'd missed it, missed it, missed it, missed it, second warning, third request, that's what you were facing.
Or were you already, are you in trouble before all these emails?
No, no, no.
I was way, like, the third request to file that you were going to be there or submit your
info so that they could include you in the call was what it.
So this was just a, if for teams that are headed to state championships, we're going to have a little.
You want to coach in the state championships here?
We're going to go through the, I'm guessing they'll talk about the tournament.
I can't wait.
We're going to, it's going to be hockey.
We're going to have Zambonis to clean the ice.
There'll be, uh, some blue lines, one red line.
Then you get some asked with a, as a head coach, it's going to ask a hundred questions that are like, oh, you're that guy.
Right.
Is there a dress code?
Do the boys have to?
And what happens if seven players minus four,
the stupidest, most obscure, like?
If we go to seven overtimes,
does, uh, have an orange break or?
Some orange slices, orange wedges.
Yeah.
So they're going to change the rules in the state to allow cursing at refs just this tournament?
Oh, no.
You're going to, okay.
So we, yeah, so sell the same rules.
Got it.
Yeah.
okay what uh what would you say you how do you feel about your chances let's assume your kids aren't
watching it's not too effective but going into state championship it's a prep school and ratch
you're the big swinging ds out of buffalo you got to be we're 50 50 to go on the nationals
and the other 49 and change is uh that prep school right so you're saying yesterday yes
dance pants
the old buttholes be pocketed
where's it being played
Roch?
No, right here in town
Right here
North Town center
Great
Any good food nearby
What do we scouting?
No,
our buddies came into town
yesterday and asked if we'd meet him for lunch
And I'm like
And he's like pick a spot
And I'm like
Don't you have to take people for wings
If they're from out of town
Isn't that just what you have to do?
Yeah, but it's a bit out of town
Right
it's like if you're in Philadelphia
well okay we got to go out
I could have to take it for wings but they didn't want to go for wings
they wanted to go for a lunch like it wasn't
I get what you're saying and yes typically
that is it but it was a lunch
blah blah blah it was more of a
anyway
there's no shoveler and I talked about it today
I was like I didn't even have an answer
there's nothing cool or trendy
even near like everyone eats wings
and pizza and subs
And Rob wears his sweatpants to go out and have a coffee with you.
Mr. Robert's neighborhood.
Pizza, wings and subs.
So when I die, I go to Buffalo.
That's right.
If I've played my cards right.
So what we have here.
So I have to choose from wings or subs or pizza.
Done.
Trick question, dude.
You're having them all.
Yep, sounds good.
So with that in mind, it's time for DoorDash and what's on the menu.
Little DoorDash comes right to your door.
You go to the app.
What do you want?
When do you want it?
Where do you want it from?
Okay, fine.
It's going to show up right on your doorstep.
Or, and I mean, go in there, hey, I would like you to ring the doorbell and then come in
and give me a foot massage and then kind of get the plates out of the dishwasher and then put
the dirty ones back in.
And then it's maybe not how it works, but it's worth a shot.
I advise against that personally.
For a limited time, you'll get 25% off
and zero delivery fees on your first order of $15 or more
when you download the DoorDash app
and enter promo code Nation 25, Nation 25.
Dash that for the win.
What's on the menu, Ryan?
Ryan!
Well, Central Division, we've talked about how good it is.
Winnipeg Jets having a monster year.
We thought they and the flames were in the same category,
expiring contracts, got to tear it down.
Nah, they bring back Shifley.
They bring back Hellebuck, having Monster Year in net.
See you later, Wheeler.
See you later, Dubois.
Another fighting for a first spot in the central.
They get Red Hot Nashville, 10-0 and 2 in their last 12.
That one, 7.30 start.
Later tonight, the abs will play the second half of a back-to-back.
We saw them at the dome last night.
They get the Canucks and Casey DeSmith tonight.
8.30 start on the left coast.
There you go.
Dash that for the win.
25% off with the promo code nation 25.
Now, there have been some comments.
What are we, what's on our shirt today, Ryan?
Is it a Yeti or is that the Grinch or what have we got there?
So it's, uh, it's a, it's something on a bicycle.
It's a petal bike.
That's what, no, they're selling those to raise money for the bike lane in
Myr Loop right there, the Pinder biker.
Nice.
Yeah, Pender bike lines.
That is you going to work.
A hairy being on a bike.
Yeah, yeah.
There's some people wondering who was wearing pants and I'm like,
I don't know, does Sasquatch wear pants?
Bigfoot?
Never.
Never.
Only in formal settings and that just doesn't happen.
Doesn't go to formal settings.
No, not much of a social character.
What's the difference between a Sasquatch and a Yeti?
Yetty's cold weather.
Is it?
Mountains.
Regions.
Ice, snow.
I feel like Bigfoot and Sasquatch woods.
Is, yeah, so is, is big, was Bigfoot a Sasquatch?
I would think so.
Sasquatch is the is a,
it's,
it's a different language is what I'm saying.
Yeah, it's a dialect.
Regional dialect.
Yeah, yeah.
Obstitian.
Thank you.
Dialect.
That's right.
Speak Sam Squatch?
I don't.
Not well.
Okay.
Not well.
Maybe after midnight.
Get around a bonfire.
Yeah, right before you turn into that guy with the Hawaiian shirt laying down.
Guys, he was,
the stories, communicating to a different kind of thing.
Communicating. Yeah, he's very much in contact.

So, I mean, let's go.
And of course, great clips.
A visual hair salon of the NHL?

and Canada.
World's largest hair salon brand.
Yeah, that's right.
With Great Clips, get the Great Clips app.
You can check in on the app.
You can see what the wait times are.
It's a new way of doing it.

Email away.
If you'd like Cal Way, there it is.
Great Clips inbox.
they'd say?
There it is.
Have the Buffalo Bills done anything, right?
I see a lot of NFL team.
The Ravens are adding.
There's lots going on.
And they signed Dionne Dawkins,
re-sign them?
It's possible.
We talked about yesterday.
Gabe the Babe the babe left.
Babe Davis off to Jacksonville.
Jacksonville.
Lame.
What do we need to do?
I mean.
Put a roof on the stadium.
Other than that,
I think you're good, bud.
Yeah, and they're not doing it?
that. No, I chose not to. They're going to say, where's my billions and not do that? Do you think
they haven't thought of it, maybe? Should I bring it up? Like, guys, I was, I, holy shit, we forgot.
I know we're well into this process, but last night, I couldn't sleep. I was up. I was looking at
the blueprints. It's not a roof on, on this. Do other stadiums? Are there stadiums?
I know this sounds crazy. Are there stadiums with roofs? There are. Hmm. But like in bad
climates or nice climates? Because I saw a roof in L.A.
That seems very redundant.
Because like the last...
We need a roof.
The last couple years,
we've had to delay games and post-owned games.
We get so much snow and cold weather here.
I think it maybe...
Our fans love the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
says the guy who sits under the overhang with the heat.
Nah, he's fancy pants, yeah.
Yeah.
That's, hey, I got a roof over my head.
That's all that matters.
When I go to a game, plenty of roof.
Well, and, you know, it helps the economy because then, you know, three times a year,
you got to pay a thousand people, 20 bucks an hour to shovel the bleeper out because you didn't put a roof on it.
Yeah, that's the trickle-down effect.
It's cash only, baby.
Pagula is just handing out money to shovel this thing empty.
You put that thing in the chat or on the show yesterday about the sabers and that $5,000.
Like, it's a personal seat license?
Is that a D move?
Yeah.
The state of New York taxing it.
That is a bit of demove, yeah.
That's a completely demove, correct?
Like, so say you and I are the three of us going,
we buy three season tickets.
Guess what?
We can't go to the New Jersey game.
How don't we sell them, right?
Let's sell them.
Perfect.
Lord forbid we might even make a buck.
Oh, geez, that's great.
Can't let you do that.
We're going to do a slice of that.
Like, are you not?
To sell the things that are at,
Yeah, that you bought.
Yeah.
So in Northern America, we're very used to, like, just go on the website and buy a ticket.
If you go to, say, England to watch, like, a soccer match or a footy match,
people will be like, you're not from here.
Where did you get that ticket?
And people will, like, it is a very serious crime to resell your ticket.
It is not just, oh, yeah, posted on the web.
Like, some places it is massively frowned upon that you would even entertain reselling it.
Frowned upon or illegal?
Both.
because if it's illegal, it's illegal.
Right.
And it always was.
Like, you know,
illegal?
Of course.
Or frowned upon.
Illegal.
Like, there's a law against selling.
Reselling, yeah, sure.
What if I buy it and I come down with the trots and I can't go?
You can hand them to someone else, but you can't sell them, I think is kind of how it's
supposed to go.
I think you are talking out your a hole.
Let's Google it.
I don't think, I think that, I think you think you know.
and I think you're running with this.
Do you remember like 20 years ago,
you'd see guys hawking tickets
at the C-Train station at the Saddle Dome?
At the time, that was not something that was allowed.
You'd see police come and they would go the other way.
But was it because it was an illegal business?
And they were charging more than face value.
Right.
So you're making money and it's not a business.
You're not like, are you operating a business on Saddle Dome property here?
It's a public property.
Like, are you, you're not a ticket reseller.
You're not licensed to do this.
It could be frauds.
But if I paid a hundred and then I sold it for 50.
Jack, could you read this for us?
That's very small font.
It's Jack.
Oh, Jack.
Here's Mike.
It's forbidden.
Reading.
Yeah.
I think it's like, I think Pender's right on this one.
It says it's illegal.
Well, what is this we're looking at?
What is this website?
Pender's fakefax.com.
I just talked it this morning.
If you're a private individual who wish to sell event tickets because you can no longer attend and not simply reap a profit, the resale is legal.
However, this question tends to be more delicate for resale companies whose main business activity consists of reselling on a regular basis.
So yes, as I'm saying, in a place like US and cat, it's like, yeah.
So if you get the trots red, to your point, and you can't go, you can sell them according to this random website.
on the worldwide web, but you can't charge more than face value.
Yeah, and again, certain jurisdictions are much more tight on this.
And I'm suggesting that in England for premiership soccer, this is a big no-no versus here.
It's like, yeah, you just post them on a site, so it'll pay you for them.
I'm going to beat up by some hooligans, Dean, or no?
It feels like a D move to me.
Yeah, I agree.
Especially in the States, because that's where this is all started.
Like, oh, yeah, resale market, it's fine.
Like, throw them on a website.
Let's go.
Yeah.
And with all the work that's gone into, try and keep this from happening, to eliminate scalping,
and we put tickets, ticket limits, and you can get in line, you have to sign up and all this stuff.
It's still.
It's like the war on drugs, Dean.
I don't know that you're ever going to win it.
We have 9,000 tickets.
Yeah, it's great.
We just want to go to a show.
We just want to go to a game, man.
Why you got to make money off of us?
Because we're nasty, evil people.
You're a business.
Yeah.
Tomorrow on the program.
Tomorrow's a Thursday.
Game day.
Helmets.
Vegas.
Noah Hanifan Day, fellas.
We can revisit his top five moments in flame silks.
This is Ryan's thing.
It's,
I guess the point he's making is that Noah Hanofan did nothing as a flame for five years or six years.
I asked you about his legacy of five years.
and you were blank screen.
It was beautiful.
But again,
I don't,
I mean to the picture perfectly.
I think you could ask that about a lot of players that leave.
And unless they've scored a memorable overtime goal or got into it.
I just,
yeah,
like with Warner,
right?
What was Rhett Warner's legacy?
Nashville.
Made of all time.
Are you kidding me?
Party animal?
Social organizer for the cup finalists.
Hall of Fame crew over here.
Off the gloss and out.
Top shelf!
Hall fame crew over here.
All true.
Massive legacy.
Author, entrepreneur, philanthropist.
He did have that one incident on the age.
That was really bad.
Pseudoscientist.
Did he?
Oh, yeah, he had the, remember?
He had the witch, sorry?
Panofin, wasn't?
No, that was Brody.
Brody after the, yeah.
Yeah, T.J. Brody had a bad one there.
The fall practice.
Yeah.
No, and look, it's just in one hand, you can't be like,
this is such a great player.
How did you not get more?
And then it's like, well, what did you do there?
Like, I don't really know.
Like it's, it's very Hanifam of him.
He was a very good two, three the whole time.
Still not.
It's also very pender.
Okay.
To this guy's great.
What is he good at?
He's not good at anything.
You got to get, it's a first and more for Hanifan.
He plays 20 minutes tonight.
He does all this.
And really, what did he do?
I mean, he didn't do it.
It's a little bit.
They did a first and more.
They got substantially more than Christa.
It's a little bit wherever you are on any given day is where the opinion seems to go.
I mean, look, he's a good ad for Vegas.
He's going to be perfect on a second pair there.
That's what he's great at.
Does he have to run a power play?
No.
Yes, I like that.
Had he was great, he sucks, Pinder.
Obviously, hello.
Were you here the last five years?
Yeah.
It is a great way to do things is when you could go.
back and forth.
Harder to be wrong.
I like it.
It's like you with your football picks.
Yes, 100%.
If you have both sides covered,
you can't lose.
Hard to be wrong.
Not many ties in the NFL.
I love the Giants are going to win,
so I had to go with the commanders.
Exactly.
I was right.
Nailed it.
All right.
That'll do it.
See you, buddies.
See, buddies.
